Nice beach. Probably great during the summer. Tons of people wind surfing.

Cool beach to spend your summer holidays! It has a perfect infrastructure, nice sand, warm water. For us, it's the nicest beach in Europe.
Ausra B — Google review
Long straight beach with white sand. Easy on the feet. The water is shallow so very suitable for kids. Coffee shops and others along the shore. I traveled there in Autumn.

It's not quite summer, but -18°c in deep winter! There is a lot to see on Pärnu beach, the bay is frozen, people are walking and enjoying the sunset!
Mairis K — Google review
Long, clean beach. Was completely empty in September. The water is very shallow: after 20m, my ankle was not completely under water. Probably a good thing if you want a photo of you walking on the water.

Art Galleries
The Uue Kunsti Muuseum, also known as the Museum of New Art, is a captivating attraction located in the heart of Parnu, Estonia. Housed in the former Communist Party headquarters, this museum showcases an array of contemporary artworks from international artists. Visitors can immerse themselves in thought-provoking exhibitions and even engage with the artists during special events.
Always happy to visit, each year when visiting Pärnu it’s the one gallery to go. It’s also possible to buy from the selection of exhibits but you need to be fast to get better selection. Very often there are multiple exhibitions at the same time.
Siim S — Google review
Many museums in Estonia used to just be dusty rooms with someone's old crap on display and old ladies guarding the coats. Sadly, the downstairs gallery at this museum is still that way. I went to the "Metslased" exhibit, because I'm a major fan of Kaupo Kikkas's photography. But this "gallery" turned out to be just an old bank which has never been renovated--security cameras still hang above the filthy, worn carpeting where the tellers stood. The lighting has never been updated, which hardly matters since the staff did not turn on the lights even after we asked. The art is poorly displayed and difficult to see in the cave-like darkness of this, um, gallery. Kikkas' photos are great as expected, but the others on display, while they may have historic value in cataloguing trees, are not worthy of an art gallery. Their reproduction quality is poor and they are cheaply mounted on foamcore and stuck to the wall with nails. Things used to be cheap in Estonia, and so it wasn't a big deal if you paid for something and were disappointed. But things have changed now. They should pay you to visit this gallery, not the other way around. What can I say that's nice? The lady selling tickets was nice, but the downstairs gallery is a ripoff that the City of Pärnu ought to shutter.
Scott D — Google review
I'm not saying that I hate all the art that is exhibited, but the quality of the collection does not merit 9€ entrance. For a few euro more, you can get into the national art museum in Tallinn or to the national museums in Latvia and Lithuania. Unless you really don't care about money at all, skip this one.
K Z — Google review
Rather overpriced admission (9 euros) for a museum that took me literally 10 minutes to look around, and I was having a proper look at the exhibits. The staff were unfriendly and all looked like they would much prefer to be somewhere else.
Ric T — Google review
The new location in the very center of Pärnu is excellent, and so are this little museum's temporary exhibitions. I enjoy a visit almost every time I'm in town, and suggest you try it out, too. I't not expensive, either, and so visitor friendly in all aspects.
Aare R — Google review
For the small gallery it is super well curated.

St. Elizabeth's Church, located in Parnu's old town, is a stunning Lutheran church gifted by the Russian empress Elizabeth in 1744. Despite its slightly worn exterior, the Baroque-style architecture and interior beauty make it a must-visit. This historic church, dating back to 1747, is known for its interesting shape and welcoming atmosphere.
The oldest preserved protestant church in Pärnu, situated in the town centre. It was built in the year 1747.

Town Hall in Parnu is a charming and cozy center with park resources, making it a fantastic stop for travelers between Tallinn and Riga. The city itself is a wonderful seaside resort, proud of its title as the "summer capital of Estonia." With its beginnings dating back to the 13th century, it has a rich history tied to the establishment of a new bishopric.

It's not the most exciting of places, but the wall-top view in the newly renovated garden adjacent is wonderful - worth your time and a wonderful bit of history The soviets made sure to build the Nevsky cathedral a "screw you" distance from it. You'll see what I mean

(Translated by Google) The city of Pärnu is a wonderful seaside resort that can be proud of the honorary title "summer capital of Estonia". Its beginning can be connected with the 13th century. and the establishment of a new bishopric, which had its headquarters here. Unfortunately, the bishop was only there for ten years, before the city and the bishop's residence were conquered and burned down by the Lithuanians. In the same period, a new town was built under the Crusader fortress, a short distance from the old one, and from that time until 1599, two separate Pärna were distinguished, the new and the old. Thanks to the trade route to Russian Novgorod, the city developed well and grew rich. Although it often fell into the clutches of rival armies through its wealth and was burned several times, it always recovered and rebuilt. In the 18th century Tart University moved here for a short time. In the 19th century Pärnu was so important that it competed with Tallinn itself for the importance of the most important city in Estonia. This was amplified after the city became the center of Estonia's national revival in the same century. In the second half of the 18th century Spas also developed in the city, and Pärnu is still the largest resort in Estonia. Thanks to this rich past, you will find a number of churches, beautiful buildings and the remains of a massive bastion fortress in Pärnu. A long promenade stretches along the beach with a number of businesses and hotels of various offers and qualities. In the center there are also a number of restaurants and bars for every time of day. Díky této bohaté minulosti, najdete v Pärnu řadu kostelů, nádherných budov a zbytky mohutné bastionové pevnosti. Podél pláže se táhne dlouhá promenáda s množstvím podniků a hotelů nejrůznějších nabídek a kvalit. V centru je taktéž řada restaurací a barů pro každou denní dobu.

The Pärnu Transformation of Our Lord Church, located across from the Parnu Vanapark, was constructed between 1902 and 1904 to accommodate the growing Eastern Orthodox population. The church features a somber red brick facade resting on a granite base and an interior adorned with over 20 icons and religious paintings. Despite its lack of exterior restoration, the church's interior exudes a timeless spiritual atmosphere.
One of the most iconic buildings in Parnu. Definitely worth to see.

East of the centre of Pärnu is the Issandamuutmise kirik (Transfiguration Cathedral) of the Estonian Apostolic Orthodox Church. The church was built between 1902 and 1904 in the Russian Revival style. The iconostasis of the church dates from 1927 and was made by V. Melnikov and P. O'Connell. When the Diocese of Pärnu and Saare was established in 2008, the church was given the status of a cathedral. In 2009, Aleksander Hopjorski was consecrated in this cathedral as the first bishop of Pärnu and Saare.
