Aquatic center
The Beachwood Family Aquatic Center is a 99,000-square-foot facility offering an array of water attractions such as slides, diving boards, lap pools, and splash pads for kids. Throughout the summer, visitors can enjoy swim lessons, splash parties, and even a disco night. The center is exclusively available to Beachwood and Woodmere residents and their guests. Non-pass holders must provide proof of residency and pay an entry fee.
This pool undoes all stereotypes of public pool. The bathrooms are clean. They are well staffed and the staff is kind. So many fun areas and activities for kids of all ages, as well as for adults. I wish there was a way to make it available to people from other communities. Even once a week with a signup tool. Good revenue for the city and a way to share this with others
Nate D — Google review
Best park we've found yet! Very clean, spacious, & more individual play/ climbing structures within the enclosure than I've seen anywhere. There's a zipline, high slides, high mounds to explore- each side uses a different skill to ascend, with some steeper than others. Pool area not yet open for season, but it looks amazing. Can't wait for summer!
Kris F — Google review
Great way to spend the day with family! Wonderful place to satisfy outdoor fun for teens and children. Safe and friendly, water was warm!
Abhijit ( — Google review
Nowhere did they state they would deny entry unless you provide a photo id and confirm your residency in Beachwood. We live 5 minutes away but now we have to drive 30 minutes to the water park because they didn't have proper signage and turned us away at the gate.
Trey C — Google review
It’s absolutely DISGUSTING that they won’t let anyone but Beachwood residents in!!! I thought I was going to bring my toddler there to swim today, but apparently we aren’t good enough since we live in Tremont 🙄 Denying children the right to come enjoy the facility is just plain WRONG and a disgrace! I’ve never seen a place do some crap like this. I hope it gets shut down. If everyone can’t come, then nobody should be allowed! 🤬

Lovely grounds and lovely staff. Moved here recently and am enjoying how well run this pool is.

City park
Lakewood Park is a 31-acre lakefront park located in Cleveland, Ohio, offering a variety of recreational activities for visitors. The park features a seasonal pool, bandshell, skatepark, sports courts and fields. It also provides stunning views of Lake Erie and is an ideal spot to catch the sunset from the Solstice Steps. Families can enjoy the playground, beach volleyball court, baseball fields, tennis courts and swimming pools at this picturesque location.
Amazing park. Its huge and there is alot to do there. Huge playground. Baseball fields. Movie night on Fridays. Nice pavilion with plenty of picnic tables. Really nice pool.
Jenny G — Google review
This is a large and beautiful park. The Solstice Steps are my favorite area of the park. They offer amazing views of Lake Erie. The park also has paved walking trails, a large playground, baseball diamond, basketball and tennis courts, shelter house, swimming pool, restrooms and much more. It is also very well maintained.
RJD — Google review
is such a beautiful spot! The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and it gives you a real sense of peace. The best part is the sunset absolutely stunning, with colors that make the whole place feel magical. Definitely a must-visit experience! It's very good place for kids.
Islam A — Google review
My favorite park in Lakewood. Tons of kids for my toddler to play with. Very nice open field, solstice steps, view of downtown Cleveland too. Worth a visit!
Benjamin S — Google review
Hello guys, this was my first time visiting this park with my daughter. It is beautiful, with a lot to see and do. There is a stunning pavilion that lights up at night. Also, there is a lovely gazebo where I saw a meeting being held, and it was large enough for that. The lake offers a beautiful view, with seating along the walkway. The playground is especially nice, with fun rides for children of all ages. They have barbecue grills and tables as well. I love the swings they have for adults. I will have to take my younger daughter back for the playground, but the lake is a must-see. I imagine parking can get busy at certain times and days, but when I went with my daughter, we didn’t have trouble finding a spot. It was a weekday at a very beautiful park.
San B — Google review
It has an amazing view, real nice to enjoy with family and friends!! Bring a chair or a blanket, seat and relax!!

A park with everything! Beautiful place. Much better and larger than average playground. The solstice steps are excellent 👌

Recreation center
The Middleburg Heights Community Center is a fantastic venue for various events, including weddings and birthday parties, thanks to its affordable rental options. This community-owned facility boasts impressive amenities like indoor and outdoor pools complete with slides and play areas that resemble a water park experience. Visitors rave about the cleanliness of the center, friendly staff, and engaging classes for children. The banquet room is perfect for private gatherings, while the outdoor pavilion offers a lovely setting for ceremonies or receptions.
We went there for a child's birthday party & it was fantastic. They have indoor & outdoor pools with slides & play areas. The party room was really nice too. This is an amazing facility & is really like an actual water park. We were very impressed. We went in both pools too. There was a free concert on 7/29/23 called Jammin in the Park; which featured two tribute bands, The McCartney Project and Satisfaction. The bands were good and we had a great time dancing.
Sharon D — Google review
Bad Customer Service, Staff was not knowledgeable about activities nor events happening at the Rec. Nor when the posting would happen on the website. Never once offered for ne to sign up as a member. Over all the staff is more concerned about rushing you off the phone than assisting you as resident of Middleburg Heights. I should not have to go outside my zip code to another recreation center to receive assistance. I know my zip code recreation center offers or should be knowledgeable about. The website is vague & lacking. How and why would staff sent residents to the website when the website does not have any information uploaded. Management needs to oversee the staff & educate the staff. Lack of training & marketing at Middleburg Heights Recreation Center
Blessing F — Google review
Horrible rec rude to people who aren’t middle burg citizens. I payed 250 sometning to go for 6 months I got suspended for absolutely no reason at first and got suspended for 2 weeks second time also no reason and suspended me on purpose untill the day my pass ended they did this on purpose the lifeguards are horrible rude front desk staff
Mohammad B — Google review
I was very disappointed to see how instructors at this rec are not monitored. Sooo many unsafe exercise movements that participants are not being corrected by some of these class instructors. Are they actually certified by national companies or just took an online Siver Sneaker course? What happened to safety first???? Hope they have good insurance.
Silver S — Google review
First time there. Watched my granddaughters volleyball game. They did a nice job designing the building.
Don G — Google review
Our youngest takes letters and numbers class here. The staff and teachers are friendly. The entire place is always clean. There is a snack bar and TVs in the lobby. We haven't used the pool yet but it looks fun, has a water slide and is never too crowded.
Pete M — Google review
Place is a huge disappointment! Machines not being maintained and or replaced. Elavator broken for months. Really? That’s unacceptable! Now I know why soooo many people left!

Cleveland Metroparks offers beautiful trails, rivers, and scenic picnic spots. Perfect for hiking, biking, and exploring nature year-round — a true outdoor treasure in the city.
Benjamin L — Google review
Need more trees in center walking path. Off in the woods trails very nice, with some older trails hooking up with the new ones. A lot of restoration is going on so that a few of the older trails are now impassable Mountain bike trails are for biking and hiking. Please make sure you hike in the proper direction. The Dentzler trailhead is a nice 0.7 mile trail. You will be crossing three bridges. The hill starting Dentzler trail however is extremely dangerous. Plenty of rocks that can be slippery.

aukerman park intersection 4th accident ive seen at this down the street from here! the 4 way stop by it needs a light o and i mean 4th accident this week! a pregnant mom got hit today on my way home. north Royalton the intersection of york with the park way i even got hit and almost died at. its complete non sense to not have lights there!!!! metro parks does not care about your health or services as they dont care if a car hits you at 60mph blowing those stop signs that are barely visible! i have atleast 10 videod accidents from that spot this year alone!!!
James S — Google review
This was our first time here, (my wife and 4 year old). He had no problems walking the trails. Great place for some nice short hikes. The paths were well marked and were nice and clear. We saw a lot of chipmunks and squirrels, and 1 deer on our loop trail hike. We will definitely be back again.

Swimming pool
Foster Pool, located on the border of Lakewood, is a newly renovated facility offering a variety of attractions for visitors. The pool boasts features such as speed slides, looping slides, lily pads, water features, a family slide, diving board, and a 50-meter by 25-yard l-shaped lap pool. It's an ideal spot for families with kids as there are plenty of activities including slides for little ones and a designated kids' pool/splash area.
This is a great tucked pool! The kid breaks are 15 minutes long and 2 adults and 2 kids are only $24 ! The diving board is great and all the lifeguards are nice , I went for the first time yesterday!!!!
Fjf F — Google review
I've been bringing my kids here for YEARS because it was a fun pool that actually allowed non-residents of Lakewood. .well NOT anymore. They no longer allow non residents as of 2024 apparently. Lakewood is NOT being inclusive with this change! Disappointing!!
Forget I — Google review
The only reason I cannot give it five stars is because when I initially bought family season pass they said the diving board would be up in a few days and so far there is no diving board which is a total bummer so if anybody is reading this please please fix the diving board 🙏
David B — Google review
The end of summer dog swim day was fantastic! Water and weather were perfect, and most importantly, our puppy had a blast!
Lauren N — Google review
DONT SWIM HERE POOP. PEE. PUKE IN THE POOL? THEY DONT CARE, CALL A 15 MIN BREAK AND ROPE OFF THE SECTION AND LET EVERYONE BACK IN TO SWIM, DISGUSTING! NASTY!!!!!!!!! UPDATE Unless you are a resident of Lakewood, you can't pay to swim here anymore. I came here for years brought my kids, now they rudely tell you no, and although my family member lives in Lakewood, they said I would need a seperate individual Lakewood resident for myself and each of my kids. And the website describes NONE OF THIS. The website which says was updated in 2024, with an included 2025 summer rates for residents and rates for non residents. Only thing it says about residents accompany a nonresident is if you want to purchase a season pass. I will no longer support or visit Lakewood park, festivals, functions, I refuse to shop in Lakewood, I will not spend a minute even driving thru Lakewood anymore. Stop acting like your so high class Lakewood ! Your still considered a part of Cleveland Put your nose down 👇
Lindsey C — Google review
$20 for family of four two kids to adults Cool was excellent and lifeguards were aware of their surroundings.
Lily R — Google review
Their website says residents outside of Lakewood pay differently, and when I arrived, they said no, that only residents are allowed. I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason, because that water was murky.
Geraldine N — Google review
Called before hand and ask if they where a public people they said yes for Lakewood resident I ask can I bring a family member that is a resident because there’s multiple of us they said yes as long as he has his ID showing proof when we got there they turned us away and said the resident can only bring one person which if they said that from the beginning I wouldn’t have wasted my time but like always is was probably because of our race

Parma Heights Pool is a fantastic destination for families and individuals looking to enjoy a refreshing day in the water. This inviting pool features diving boards, thrilling slides, and a dedicated kiddie area, ensuring fun for all ages. Surrounding the pool are ample amenities including a pavilion perfect for gatherings, playgrounds for children to explore, and barbecue grills ideal for summer cookouts.
Thank you to the smart and kind planning division of the Parma heights recreation department! Mom of 2 kids here- and I sincerely appreciate the fact that they have umbrellas and shady areas for kids and a place to eat. Family changing rooms that are reasonably clean!!!
Nataliya D — Google review
Really impressed for a public pool. Cleanliness is average, never go in the bathroom barefoot! 😂 But there's a lot to do. Two large slides & two diving boards as well as an awesome kid area! Lots of lounge chairs and even bleachers. They allow you to bring snacks and eat poolside. The kids who work here are nice and accommodating. Price for non-residents: $8 for adults $6 for kids.
Hannah — Google review
Haven't really used the pool area even though I live in the Parma Heights area. I stopped at the cafe/grill that the pool offers and wanted to get a cola- but they said that their machine was out. The manager was very polite and offered me a free glass of water with plenty of ice which I took and said thank you. It was really refreshing- more than the cola would have been. Nice staff run the grill and even though it can be a little expensive- they offer a wide variety of items to choose from.
D.A. — Google review
Had a wonderful time. We felt very safe with the lifeguards and staff. The facility has lockers and clean bathrooms. The biggest plus was the separate area for young children and so many shaded areas with chairs and tables. If you are a parma height resident, don't pass up this spot for summer time fun!
Rachel C — Google review
Not happy. Wasted money to get there just to be told 1. We may not be able to enter and have to wait got people to leave because maximum capacity was being reached (okay I understand it's about 92 out and I didn't mind the wait) but 2. When we finally had our chance to go in AN HOUR LATER we were turned away as we were not residents of Parma Heights. No where in the website or frontage signs does it say you have to he a resident or Parma Heights. I wasted $13.00 on a Lyft over there not even considering the $18.00 back just to be turned away and waste and hour of our time. Some may say oh 13.00 and 18.00 isn't that had, it is when it meant a waste of money and trip. The inside did look phenomenal I'll give them that, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU AREN'T A RESIDENT OF PARMA HEIGHTS SINCE THEY DON'T WANNA POST IT NOWHERE. And on top of it make sure you signed up and made an account first because they'll send you back for that also. Thanks for a waste of money, time, and trip just to be turned away!!
Tava — Google review
Strict rules, but in a good way! Pool is never busy and everyone is friendly. The only negative is it’s cash only.. no one carries cash, some places don’t even accept it anymore! Could use a few more chairs also.
Officerdic — Google review
Really nice and clean pool.... we have only been to the kiddie pool side every time that we go. The kids enjoy it a lot and the price is decent. The only complaints that I have is the girls at the front gate picks and chooses who to ID. I witnessed on several occasions them just asking people if they're residents or not and when it's my turn and they ask and I say yes I'm a resident (because I am), they ask to see my ID each and every time!!! Also, the guards only monitor the area where the kids come off of the slide at and not the entire pool area. This is a problem because there's been teenagers at the unmonitored area playing rough knocking little kids over or splashing them. Other than that, it's worth the visit and be sure to bring your own chair because they only put out a handful... literally!!!
L N — Google review

Now Forest Hills Park if I had a pitbull and a gun I would still be afraid to go into this crime area and the park is not well kept the city has really done a poor job with property that the Rockefellers donated to them years ago they should be ashamed to say this is a park it should be called a Forest Hill Woods recommendation let your kids play in the backyard exercise by walking up and down your street in front of your house you'll be safer.
Lee W — Google review
Trifling place to take children. Trash is everywhere and every 5 minutes you will hear gun shots or sirens. Cars speed up and down right next to where children play. Graffiti all around.

Cumberland is a nice little park in East Cleveland. There are paved walking paths and some open green space. A playground for children and the pool is quite good sized.

I enjoy this pool but ladies PLEASE be alert. My boyfriend caught some old guy taking photos of me in my bathing suit here, and when confronted he totally deflected and denied (despite my boyfriend literally watching him do it, I don’t think the guy realized we were together). But yeah, definitely leaves a terrible terrible taste in my mouth. Im assuming hes a regular too since he seemed to know many people as he was leaving the pool
Sydney B — Google review
This pool doesn’t allow floating devices for your children which is odd. The lifeguards on duty are young and lazy with an attitude. I payed for swim lessons for my kids. Unfortunately, it rained three of the days and I was told due to the time restrains those rainy days will not be rescheduled. This is an outdoor pool, the disadvantage to buying swim lessons is if it rains you miss out on your money. The scenery at this pool is outdated even the showers. Nothing spectacular here.
Jennifer T — Google review
A decent outdoor pool. Clean enough, warm enough and enough swim lanes to keep the lap swim people happy. First thing in the morning it's calm and quiet. Lap swim people tend to split into two groups: those who expect a little socializing and those who are just there for the laps. I wouldn't be surprised if others thought it could be cleaner (it can), both in the pool, on the deck, and in the locker room. But it's clean enough.

I enjoy the pool and the amout of lanes, the only issue is when women, and young ladies come to the pool, especially during family swim, they wear strings up their backside and call that a swimming suit, they are completely nacked. I wish the policy would change to where your bottom and breast has to be covered.

Been going since i was 7 im almost 30 now. Love it here i love living in cleveland heights

Don't come here if youre not a resident. You pay to get in and have to show ID or a bill to get in. How wild can that be for a community pool.👎

W. C. Reed Park is a delightful spot that offers a blend of recreational activities and scenic views, making it an ideal destination for families and fitness enthusiasts alike. The park features a well-maintained walking path perfect for jogging or leisurely strolls, allowing visitors to soak in the beautiful downtown scenery. While there’s a spacious field separating the park from the nearby cemetery, this only enhances its peaceful atmosphere. For sports lovers, W. C.
Very clean, and nice set up for the dogs to walk
Jason D — Google review
Nice but no restrooms. Not Maintain very well, broken glass on sidewalks every day.
Lorraine H — Google review
Reviews don't seem to make clear there is a fence and very large field dividing the cemetery and the park play areas. No ones playing baseball on grandma here. Great winding walking path around it for jogging.
Cory K — Google review
There are signs posted upon entry to the park "all dog's must be leashed". Owner's with their dogs walking WITHOUT a leash. I figure like this...if we fail to adhere to small and simple rules, what about the rules that require fines and/or jail time? I have a dog riddled with anxiety. He becomes excited when he sees other dogs...this in turn, excites the dog/dog's without leashes...end result? Chaos.

Nice clean pool & awesome playground!!

Lovely place to take the kids on a hot day!
Mike C — Google review
The pool is sort of small but it’s refreshing on a hot day. $6 for non residents. The water temperature was perfect. Not cold or too hot. It’s a basic pool with no extras, no slide, no diving board, no hot tub but it’s still very nice. Plus the park around it is nice.

With the size of Parma, population of 78k+, there really needs to be more than one or two pools!! They get overcrowded FAST! 👎 This pool is on the western end of Parma. There needs to be a pool where they removed the one on West Ridgewood and put in a splash pad. That's for kids! Although a nice idea for the kids, a pool is more welcoming for all ages.
Carol O — Google review
A great pool and lots to do at the park. Has something for everyone in the family, playground, fitness track, exercise equipment, pool and a pavilion you can rent out. Lots of shaded areas and areas with sunny spots
Jessica P — Google review
The pool is pretty great but the pool chairs are all "taken" with a towel but nobody sitting there. Most of the chairs are also broken. Better bring your own chair and then it would be a better experience.

The pool offers amenities such as a lift for handicapped individuals, making it inclusive for all visitors. Additionally, the park features a playground, picnic area, and pavilion for cooking and dining.
Very nice!! Decently sized, clean water, and attentive lifeguards. Things like pool floaties aren't allowed, but they do provide things like pool noodles. Nice summer spot !
Renjaminnifer — Google review
Very nice pool at this location. There is a small play area with swings and slides. There is also a pavilion but with no tables or grills. They have recently planted 50 or more trees at this location. Should be something to see in a few years.
Dave — Google review
I grew up in the 80's and was at this pool all of the time. It's really gone downhill. There are rarely enough chairs for people. The water is pretty gross (smells like pee), and the male lifeguards have mouths that could do with some soap - or a filter. It's no wonder there are never that many people there.
Persephone — Google review
Clean. Temp is ok. Great place to cool off when its hot
Carolyn D — Google review
I have went to this pool yesterday, I am here everyday my four kids were having a great time. They were diving, jumping, and the lifeguards were watching them so very well they were all sitting at a table. Every single one of them were paying attention to the pool. I came to the pool today with my children and there table is gone and most of them were in there room not paying any attention. I think it’s because they have nowhere to sit. On top of that my children now can’t jump, dive, or have any kind of fun. This is really getting ridiculous. I have came here to let my kids have fun. Now your telling me my children can’t be kids.

Nestled in the heart of Independence, the Independence Outdoor Pool is a haven for aquatic enthusiasts. The pool offers something for everyone, with designated areas for both kids and adults to enjoy. From a kiddie area to a big kids' zone, there's plenty of space to splash around. For those seeking thrills, the diving board promises endless fun. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of amenities such as a concession stand and clean bathrooms.
If you know a resident you should really come here. One of the best most amazing places/pools to exist and there’s no better more relaxing way to spend a summer day locally. I went as a kid a lot and luckily I can still get in with relatives. What an amazing place. The atmosphere is so upbeat and colorful too.

Move over, Olympics – the real aquatic marvel is the Independence Outdoor Pool! This place is so spacious, even sardines would have room to stretch. They've cracked the code to keeping everyone happy: there's a kiddie area for ankle-biters, and a big kids' zone for...well, the rest of us kids. And guess what? They've got a diving board that turns even the most sophisticated adults into cannonball champions. Oh, and did I mention the concession stand? It's like they knew my stomach had an appetite for adventure. The best part? It won't cost you an arm and a flipper – the guest rates are budget-friendly enough to keep your piggy bank smiling. Bravo, Independence Outdoor Pool, you've mastered the art of making waves and winning hearts!
Vern R — Google review
Very nice pool and great amenities, however, not very warm and fuzzy boss lady and extremely tight rules for guests. Non-inviting experience has left us shy to enjoy our purchased residential pool passes all summer long. Great lifeguards and concession kids though….

Additionally, the facility includes an ice rink that hosts the Garfield Heights Learn to Skate program for individuals of all ages. During the summer, guests can take advantage of the crystal-clear heated outdoor pool.
As a Garfield Heights resident and film creator, I can say this place as nice and fun events that happen year round. The ice rink is awesome and the building interior is great as well. I've never been to the pool but seeing it from the outside, I know it looks like fun in the summer. Lots of cool stuff
MMH P — Google review
Place had turned into such a dump! I grew uo in garfield hts in 1980s and this place was the best ,clean fun safe etc had such a fun video game room snack shop pool ice rink etc considering how bad of decline the city has gone through bad elements shady people ,random shootings drugs everywhere I'm shocked the rec center even still exists

The prices for the pool are unreasonable for a family & for the facility itself idk who makes up those prices it's bad enough living in this ghetto city but there's nothing to do around here & the park & basketball court they just built looks awful with tons of foul mouth small children threatening to fight everyone I would never allow my children to go anywhere around here unattended & my kids are teenagers & 1 preteen ... They say the area is monitored but it's not I didn't see anyone besides children

I have gone up there at least 3 or 4 times this year With three to four friendsT.hat didn't have a passSo they charged us $12 a person to get in. Today I went up there with a couple friends this time there was an older lady at the register and said nobody without a pass can you come in Even if you do pay.So it looks like there is some shady business going on up thereYou would think they would at least do some repairs on the place

I signed a family member up for soccer and the lady in the office was very friendly and very helpful. There are still good people out here with great customer service!

This pool is perfect for families with young kids. The entrance to the swim pool is a ramp. This is great for my 3yo who only wants to go in up to her knees. Most of the pool is under 4 feet. They do have s kiddie pool and slide . The staff is very friendly. The bathrooms/locker rooms aren't very sanitary and smell. That's my one issue!
Amber L — Google review
It's all asphalt and I'm very concerned that if a kid falls the really going to get hurt. The sign you can hardly read that tells you the rules and it's behind a yellow tape which you're not supposed to cross so what good is it.
