Brunch restaurant
Phnom Penh Noodle Shack is a well-established noodle house in Long Beach, known for serving hearty portions of authentic Cambodian cuisine. The restaurant, run by the second generation of the Tan family since 1985, has gained popularity among locals and has been featured in various publications. Their specialty lies in customizable breakfast soups with different types of noodles and pork broth. The menu also includes a house special featuring multiple cuts of pork and shrimp, offering a nuanced flavor profile.
Authentic Cambodian spot that is a staple in the community. This restaurant has been around since my partner was a kid, and it is nice to hear that they have been here for so long. They offer great and affordable prices on huge portions. I particularly had the Mo special with the broth on the side. The spareribs that is in the broth is so tender that the meat falls off the both with just a poke. The noodles is soft and mixes well with the proteins. The flavor is on point and better than I had anywhere else. The staff are very friendly, and the kitchen moves really fast. We waited just a few minutes for a table and a few minutes for our food after we ordered. Looking forward to coming back when I am in Long Beach!

First time trying Cambodian noodles, thanks to a local friend’s recommendation. The place has a cozy vibe — packed with Cambodian locals even during a late weekday lunch, which says a lot. We ordered the house special noodles, which come with a bowl of flavorful broth and a big bone on the side, plus the tomato noodle soup. Both were delicious. I especially loved the liver in the house special — wish I had asked for extra. Both soups were completely new flavors to me, but I enjoyed them both. Prices are very affordable, especially for how much food you get.

PhnomPenh Noodle Shack 🫵🏻🫵🏻is hands down the best noodle spot I’ve had in America! If you’re a fan of bold flavors, hearty portions, and comforting soup dishes — this place is a must-visit. The bowls are huge — seriously generous portions loaded with noodles, a variety of meats, and rich, flavorful soup. Every bite is satisfying and packed with authentic Cambodian flavor. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you full, happy, and already thinking about your next visit. Beyond the food, the vibe is awesome — casual, welcoming, and full of character. There’s great background music, the energy is relaxed, and the staff are super friendly and helpful, adding to the overall experience. It’s also very cost-effective — you get incredible quality and a massive portion for a very fair price. It’s rare to find a place that offers such great value while still delivering top-tier flavor and service.
Jason X — Google review
The food was absolutely amazing!! the staff was very patient and explained all the condiments and the menu items to us as it was our first time. I would highly recommend the beef and meatball with thick rice noodles. The broth was really flavorful and all the sauces available tasted great.
Helen Z — Google review
Breakfast and lunch menu This place is small and busy but the flavors are there and the quality is great! Everyone we're in Cambodia town, we try new spots to try. I'm glad we found this before they got packed. Waiting list is outside and the lines get long but it's worth it. The khatiev broth is clean, crisp and light. The noodles are cooked perfectly.
Christi M — Google review
This is comfort food. Every time I go I order the tomato beef stew with thick noodles. I sometimes get the standard Thai tea with meals. The only downside is that the place is so popular that there might be a wait to get seated. This is my go-to restaurant when family and friends visit Long Beach.
Loren J — Google review
You have such good food. Fresh ingredients! Honestly I have been eating Thai food since the late 70s. Cambodia and Thai food are like sisters. I drive 40 minutes to eat your food. Please keep up the great restaurant food and hey please open up a restaurant in the South Bay!
Jim A — Google review
We ordered their special dry noodle, but unfortunately, it was too sweet for our taste, and the noodles were overcooked. The restaurant's location in a poor neighborhood and has no parking, made street parking a challenge.

Jongewaard's Bake n Broil is a beloved family-owned eatery in Long Beach, serving up a variety of homestyle classic fare and desserts. The restaurant is currently offering made-to-order holiday pies, including a decadent pecan and Granny Smith apple pie topped with cranberry sauce and whipped cream. They are also taking orders for their cranberry orange glaze muffins, available in-store on select days throughout December and January.
We arrived on a Saturday morning at 10:30 and had to wait almost an hour on the outside tables for our party of three. But it was totally worth it! The coffee cake was amazing, and all the meals we ordered were huge and delicious!

First time here pancakes were delicious. Chicken pot pie great flavor, the only thing is the wait could be upsetting we waited to be sitting for almost 1 hour. So if your patient the wait was worth it for us. Not from the area but when we have a chance we will come back we want to try other food from their menu.

I haven’t been in a couple years, but glad I stopped by to eat again! This place has been here since 1965, but anyone can see why it’s still going strong! If there is a wait (which there probably will be), by all means WAIT! I opted for the simple sausage and eggs with a cream cheese muffin, and a side each of the seasonal pumpkin pancake, and a lemon-blueberry pancake with raspberry sauce, and my friend got the chicken-fried chicken & eggs. The cream cheese muffin was literally the best muffin I’ve ever had! Ilana, our waitress, was very helpful in picking out our order and explaining the menu. Everything here was delicious and filling. I even ordered a couple muffins and a cinnamon roll to go! I’ll be back more often now!

Food was mid. Ordered the vegetarian omelette, came with hashbrowns, and a lemon muffin, and ordered a stack of pancakes. They overcook the omelette a little bit. Our waiter was great

10/10 recommend and I'm. Literally screaming this! I had the ham steak and egg and every bite reminded me of my childhood on Sunday mornings when my grandmother (Nana) cooked it! Comfort food for the Soul🫶🏾

Everything was delicious! Our waitress was so friendly and they have great looking pastries available if that’s your thing! They had a nice salsa and they brought out tapatío and some home made jam! Try it guys! It won’t disappoint

Food is flavorful with fair portions. Hospitality is great and the atmosphere feels cozy. Definitely worth a visit if the line isn’t 1hr+ which is often the case for good reason.

Ammatoli is a refined restaurant in Long Beach, known for its expertise in Mediterranean cuisine, particularly seafood dishes and baklava. Chef Dima Habibeh's culinary skills have earned the restaurant recognition as one of the best in the region. Her dedication to offering the finest Levantine flavors from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus, and Palestine shines through in every dish. The menu goes beyond traditional Middle Eastern fare with innovative creations like musakhan chicken rolls and spicy grilled fish plates.
Fantastic!! So fresh and flavorful! I would dare say spectacular. This was such a wonderful experience and our server was great. We ordered a wide variety of food and I can say without a doubt it was excellent... all of it. The meat pie and cheese pie were amazing! Highly recommend Ammatoli and I would give it a 10 stars if I could. I can’t wait to come back to visit. The lemonade iced tea was SO good! Now I see why my daughter and son in law go at least once a week.
Sandra S — Google review
Amazing food, great service. Everything was delicious, and they were super accommodating for bringing a baby with us in a stroller. 100% would recommend this place. We’ve already visited twice and absolutely will be returning soon! Food is also fully halal!
Claire S — Google review
I especially thanked the chef. These dishes are quite difficult to prepare. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned. It had a wonderful flavor. I definitely recommend it.
Deniz — Google review
First off, Ammatoli was recommended to me by a friend and let me tell you absolutely nothing disappointed me. Our server, Mason was patient and pointed us to his favorites which are now MY favorites! (I can take home jugs of the Mint Lemonade) The atmosphere was so relaxing and yes you can take pictures of literally everything because the owners seriously created this place and menu with intention. You are guaranteed a delicious/high quality meal. If you get a chance, I say make a reservation because they do get booked and please ask for Mason he truly is the best!

I had dinner for a friend's birthday. We ordered the three way mezza (grape leaves, spicy hummus, falafel), chicken schwarma, Palestinian msakham, pita, spinach fatayer and cheese fatayer. The three appepetizers were pretty good. Grape leaves full of flavor. Spicy hummus had a touch of heat, not too much and the falafel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The two pastries we had (fatayer) - the cheese was delicious. It was a nice savory, decadent pastry. Almost like a dense cake. The spinach was had a crispy flaky outer layer and I don't think there was too much filling, which was slightly disappointing. The two main dishes we shared, one was pretty good and the other, just okay. The schwarma was nothing to write home about. It felt like it lacked a little flavor but it could be that the appetizers were highly flavorful, this one fell flat for me. The Palestinian msakham was a recommendation from our server. The chicken was served on top of two flat breads smothered in onions and spices. The chicken itself was pretty good, juicy and flavorful. Pairing it with the flatbread it came with along with the yogurt dip and garlic sauce, was almost delicious. We also had dessert, Osmelieh ice cream. The is cream was tasty and paired with a flakey crust. It had some bits of dates in it which gave it some additional texture. Overall, the food was good. The service was okay. I felt I was personally ignored when she took everyone's drink order and didn't ask me for mine. She brought back everyone's drink and it wasn't only until I said something was when she took. My drink order. It was a bit odd but maybe she was distracted. One of my friends orders the yogurt drink, and given how everything was thoughtfully presented, this drink came out in it's original package. Which is fine, just a little odd since everything else was more less presented nicely. Why 3 stars them? We were reminded of the 90 min dining time what felt like 50x. We were sent several reminders about this before dining in. We were reminded upon checking in. We were reminded drying our meal. And then reminded when we paid our tab. Mind you, we were there within the 90 min time frame. I felt like all those reminders were overkill and kind of ruined the celebration. I get it. They want to get customers in and out so get in more customers. But for a celebration, maybe take it down a notch or two on the reminders.

Let’s start with the amazing name. Ammatouli. Amman is a city of 7 hills, (Amma), and touli in Latin means hills. Very creative name for a very creative restaurant with amazing food. Of course we had to order the hummus and Fattoush salad. Both were amazing. I highly recommend you ask them to give you the dakka for the hummus. We also ordered the meat kibbe too. They have an all star menu with appetizers, salads, main courses, and very creative desserts. My family and I ordered a lot of food so I can comfortably elaborate on the Mousakka, the kebabs, and the Chilean Sea Bass. The Chilean Sea Bass was definitely the clear winner. Probably the best I have ever had by far. Ever! So light and the rice that comes with it was delicious. The kebabs were all good. The Ribeye, lamb, kufta, and chicken. All good. Lastly the Mousakka was amazing too! Definitely worth getting a Levantine original version. We almost ordered the Palestinian Mosakkhan too. That looked really good. Last but not least is their excellent dessert menu. We tried Tata’s carrot cake. (Tata means grandmother). It was awesome. I came close to ordering “Date with a cake”. That is a very popular one. All in all I highly recommend this amazing restaurant!

Google sucks. I need a 9.5 Star ⭐️ option for this one! Our server Pete was spectacular, passionate and truly exceptional. His peers have a lot to live up to. Food was dynamite. Our Experience was efficient, tasty 😋, and took us on a journey. Time stopped! We ended up the last patrons. My best recommendation: Ask Pete(your food guide) cheers all.

Had a really good time here. The restaurant is really clean and visually nice. Lots of tables are available for all types of party sizes. The service was very professional and our server was really nice and helpful with the recommendations. The food was delicious!! The plate sizes were appropriate and very shareable. I wanted to eat all the plates for myself lol. There is so much flavor in each plate because there are a lot of different spices that are used. I really want to come back because there is nothing but positive things for me to say. Highly recommend! There is also nearby parking of the streets or a structure that you have to pay for

Nestled in the heart of Long Beach, Pho Hong Phat is a beloved gem that has been delighting locals with its homestyle Vietnamese dishes for decades. This Cambodian-owned eatery specializes in an impressive array of beef pho, boasting nearly twenty variations that cater to every palate—from tender rare steak to hearty brisket and tripe.
First time trying this place and it did not disappoint. We had a chicken pho, rare steak pho, shrimp and pork spring rolls and a side of bread that they recommend for dipping in the pho. It was delicious! The bread tasted like doughnut bread but lighter. I highly recommend!
Jesenya T — Google review
I got vermicelli with grilled pork which was tasty. My friend got Pho beef combo. I also got iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. You know it’s authentic when your coffee comes with a tiny spoon in the glass cup. Reasonable price and nice service.
Aornchuma J — Google review
The broth is clean, with light beefy flavor, and the spices are not overpowering. Its fragrance comes from the fresh green onions and cilantro. The meat and noodles ration is perfect. The herbs condiments are generous amounts and really fresh. The Chinese donuts come hot and fresh. I like to dip mine in the hot broth. Pro tip: Go for the XL bowl if you are hungry! Service is warm, food comes fast. They have good, multiple dining areas. The inside dining and restrooms are clean. I live that they open early at 0800, since I always crave pho for breakfast. Street parking only.

This is the pho spot in Long Beach! When it’s lunch time and you want pho, go here. It’s reliable and the staff is very friendly
Willie W — Google review
I was the first customer, and the broth smelled like wet dog. I had to drown the smell out with Sriracha. I usually don't leave bad reviews, but the $20 a bowl price forced me to. Never again.
James L — Google review
As a Long Beach resident, I’ve been coming here for years. I definitely think it’s one of the most authentic tasting Pho In town. Only open till 5 PM and all they serve is Pho and don’t forget the nice crunchy bread which compliments the pho very well. Prices have definitely gone up, but you still have the option of small, medium or large unlike most places which charge a flat rate of 15+ for a bowl. Service has always been great here no issues so far. Parking can be a bit scarce I usually park at Walgreen. The ambience is pretty simple and mildly loud, depending on the size of your party. You might have to wait for a table or just take whatever’s available. Overall the food and service are worth it while being affordable.

Love this place. I’m a pho fiend, and their broth is my favorite — soooo delicious. Sunny little corner shop with low-key, friendly and fast service.

The Pho here is EXCEPTIONAL!! So flavorful and piping hot! All the fixings are fresh and plentiful. They also offer what they call a Chinese Dognut to dip while eating your Pho, which I recommend. I love this place, I eat here every time I'm in The LBC. I Initially found this restaurant because it had a rave review in the OC weekly. If you are ever in Long Beach you must try!

A&J Seafood Shack is a hidden gem that offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant's menu features an impressive selection of fresh fish and pan-Asian bites, making it a must-visit for seafood lovers.
This is a can’t miss spot! We’ve been wanting to come back ever since trying one of their rice plates, but were instructed to not sleep on their sandwiches - they were not wrong! My partner ordered the Beef Sandwich, and I had to try their Short Rib plate. Within minutes our plates were clean! Both meats were tender and flavorful. (We also got their fries, that were made fresh & crispy) 1000/10!! If you plan on eating there, parking is a bit rough. However, they do have high top seating + umbrellas if the weather is nice. Service is friendly and efficient. We’ll for sure be back with our family! This is a small spot that packs a powerful bite. p.s. The Thai Tea there pairs well with the entire meal

Pulled up there was parking which seemed like I got lucky was able to back up right into the bench where we eat our entire lobster, and grilled oysters. The Oysters were large and we added their sauce which was a great combination. The lobster was fresh and packed with meat swimming in their garlic sauce accompanied by shrimp, garlic and jalapeños adding flavor with outta heat! We live close by and our plan was to take it all home but decided to enjoy our catch on their high bench and tables under the trees and umbrellas with a cool breeze. Great experience all around.

I ordered the short ribs and got these little burnt pieces of bone with a little bit of meat on them and some really clumpy sticky nasty rice. I called them to let them know and they said oh it's already too late we can't do anything about it. The lady on the phone got really nasty when I asked her if she could help me out

I am so tempted to do a bad review of this place just to keep people from overwhelming this place because of the awesome food at this place. It’s a selfish agenda I know, so I can’t do it. This place is awesome, the food is delicious and the portion is generous, I had the whole fried squid and the grilled oyster, very tasty, the squid was nicely breaded and tender. My girl had the braised pork rice, also very good. The place has a small parking lot, it wasn’t full when we went, but soon filled up with cars. But overall, def give this place a go.

I had a very frustrating dinner. I found your restaurant through online reviews and it had great reviews and was highly recommended. However, when I tried it, I was completely disappointed and angry. All the seafood was not fresh. The lobster meat was rotten, and half of it was just ordinary shrimp mixed in, not whole. The oysters were also not fresh and had gone bad. The fried noodles were greasy. The whole food was terrible. I spent $125 on a bunch of crap and we came all the way from San Jose for our first dinner and I felt ripped off. I rarely write reviews but I had to for this one.

El Pollo Imperial in North Long Beach is a casual spot known for its rotisserie chicken and traditional Peruvian dishes. The restaurant, which has been a neighborhood institution for over a decade, was created by Oscar Ramirez, Alicia, and Carlos Cortez. They transformed a closed KFC into an authentic Peruvian eatery that stands out among other popular Peruvian joints in the area.
Staff is very friendly. And the food was delicious. I ordered a lunch special, a Saltado de Pollo, it came with the chicken soup & also dinner rolls. Overall, I would come back to try more food.

I dunno whooo is pricing the menu. but they lost they mind !!!! I've been coming here for years and the price has gone up and up. I normally get the Saltado de vegetables meal. I asked for shrimp with vegetables. Dude said 26 bucks. YIKES. I LEFT. that's crazy.
A. ( — Google review
The shrimp ceviche was $22.95 for a small portion of the worst shrimp ceviche I have ever had. Tough shrimp, no flavor, no lime kick. The stuffed potato was the bright spot. Other entrees also $22.95 and lacking in flavor. Bread hard and not worth eating. Chicken soup, meh.
Mari C — Google review
Believe all the recent reviewers. Been coming here for a long time. 2012. This is my last visit. Quality is downhill! My go to order was Lomo Saltado. Meat was chewy, nasty. Rice dry and no sauce. They used to give some juice to mix with your rice. Now it’s dry. The bread and soup they give with the meal was not the same. Cold hard bread and watered down cilantro chicken soup. What happen? Owner got cheap. Take it out on loyal customers!
Ryan R — Google review
First time here and I found the food to be really flavorful. From the outside, it looked quite small but I was impressed. The flavor was really good and the staff really nice. I ordered the lomo saltado which was a large portion. It also included their chicken soup and some rolls. The green sauce was dynamic and tasted great with the meal. Seating can feel small inside. There is a small parking lot but it was full during the lunch hour and I parked in the residential neighborhood behind it. They accept credit card and also have lunch specials Monday thru Fridays except holidays.

Ordered food my order was canceled i was then charged again without my consent. Then the order was continuously dropped over and over again for 1.30hrs. Until it finally got cancelled again! Now iv to wait 7 days to get my money back

Great food, but the most unfriendly staff I've encountered. I gave the person a $20 tip on $50 drive-thru order and she said nothing and closed the window on me. Trying to support small businesses and a simple thank you goes a long way.

Heard good things about the place and finally decided to come. The place is not in the best area of the city and from the outside looks like a dive. Not a place you see and say "Hey I want to go in there". Looks like they created this restaurant in an abandoned El Pollo Loco and spray painted over the sign. In walk in and it looks much better inside than outside. They gave us complimentary rolls and chicken soup. I start with the shrimp ceviche which was great and had a lot of shrimp. the papa rellenas was good the meat was good. The yuca frita was good, I loved the sauce. We ordered the Lomo Saltado which had surprisingly way more meat than fries, which I think should have a little more fries, but I'm not complaining at all it was great. We also ordered the Chaufa de Pollo and it was a huge plate. For dessert we had picarones and they were delicious and the best way to end the meal. The quality here was great, and the portions are huge, you will most likely be leaving with leftovers. Will definitely recommend this place and I'll be back for sure.

Cambodian restaurant
Thai restaurant
Crystal Thai-Cambodian Cuisine offers a traditional Cambodian dining experience with a menu that showcases the best of Khmer cuisine. The restaurant's extensive menu features classic Cambodian dishes, such as nom pjok, a thick rice vermicelli noodle dish in turmeric-stained catfish broth, and trei aundain chean, whole fried yellow catfish. The flavors are described as umami-meets-citrus bomb that is light and addictive.
This little hole in the wall serves up authentic Khmer dishes, challenging to find in the Bay Area. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious, the portions/prices- decent. The ladies who served us were sweet and friendly. I’d definitely return to try more dishes when I’m back in the OC. It was cash only and parking is limited there but so worth the visit. Thank you!! 🙏🏼🫶🏼

Updated 02/2025: So disappointing! This used to be our go-to for authentic Khmer food. Each entree $20-25, even the egg pancake thing. Beef satay--5 big sticks, chicken ones especially, too dry & tough, not worth the jaw work out--never spit out satay before, left the rest for my mom (she eats anything) :P Catfish--so over fried it was awful. Plea, from good then to meh (blah) now--my friends barely touched it. Salaw, good flavor, greasy & very undercooked today, confounding. Mostly Khmer patrons. Service, none, no checking on us--no water refill. Not as authentic, tasty, as it used to be. I felt so embarrassed for raving about it to my friends--they were far from impressed. Maybe the older cooks are gone (?). Certainly not worth $35/person + tip. Bummed that's my last visit. So many better options abound.

Food is great, not a wow factor, i wish they could serve it faster. I dislike the fact of CASH ONLY for a traveler like me, also the flies in restaurant are really annoying. Maybe the restaurant should do something to prevent flies as it does look unhygienic.

The food is outstanding. Tony the owner is usually in the kitchen cooking. The place is small and cramped. Was recently renovated but haven't been back to see what its like now. Parking is a real pain. Some of the spots are designated for the other place and you can't park there. Sometimes you have to go park on the street. Most folks don't go there for the atmosphere. It's for the food.

Khmer fish soup is excellent!! The beef sticks are also super delicious!! Just don’t expect so much in service!

What kind of restaurant have no prices on the menu? We had to ask about the price. Coconut drink $5 Beefsticks $15 Khmer ppl I know always rave about this place, food is delicious but it's not my type since CASH only. I came here 1st time and will only be back if someone drive me here lol.

The food was good and authentic Cambodian flair. The service we good initially but when it got busy we didn’t see the waitress for awhile. The portions of food were quite fair for the price but keep in mind it is cash only and it appears the menu prices have changed as they were crossed out. Overall if you’re hungry and in the area this is a nice place.

Gemmae Bake Shop in Long Beach is a family-owned business that has evolved from a traditional bake shop into a vital part of the community. Started by Prescilla Tolentino and now run by her daughter Catherine, the shop offers not only baked goods but also hot foods with modern twists on Filipino classics. The menu includes monthly variations of stuffed pandesal and collaborations with other local chefs.
This was my first time coming here and it was well worth the trip. I decided to try this place because they have Lumpia pictured on their website. Thus establishment did not disappoint. All the dishes and pastries we ordered were delicious and well worth the money spent. Try the Lumpia, chocolate cake, empanadas and Ensaymada. All these dishes SLAP!!! The staff are friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere reminds me of a well established local eatery. This place is a must visit.

Some info for those wanting to eat hot(e.g. non baked) foods: Breakfast item trays are put out at 6:30am. They supposedly start putting out lunch items from "9am to 10am" where you can get a combination of both. And by 10am all the lunch items are available... Then by 11am they start selling out. Overall the food was a pleasant surprise. I'm not terribly familiar with PH food as I did not catch all the item names but the Machado, Adobo and Kare Kare were all very nice. Very well paired with plain white rice. My only complaint would be that the food is really oily. Some of the dishes were swimming in pools of oil that we had to drain out before eating. However this was similar to my experience in the Philippines so this might be considered authentic. Anyway I definitely plan to come back and try more.

The cutest little Filipino bake shop and restaurant! My first time going and I found a wide of Filipino items, from their Ube cheesecake, filipino lumpia, hot food items, pan de coco, ube cheesecake and ube cake. Don’t forget their delectable mini ube and coconut tarts and their birthday cake.

Wow! Have been ordering the normal take out of lumpia Shanghai, empanadas, ensaimada and mamon for family gatherings, but today I ordered combo plate and the pork menudo was incredible! Eating the menudo brought back memories of eating menudo made by our house cook in Manila. Also got the ube banana cream pie for my wedding anniversary. Will be trying out Gemmae’s other main dishes!

South American restaurant
Selva is a Colombian restaurant in Los Angeles that has gained popularity for its unique and authentic cuisine. Chef Carlos Jurado showcases his talent through dishes like smoked bird, rice and beans, and scallop crudo, which is not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The restaurant offers a reinterpretation of Colombia's rich culinary traditions with dishes such as Peruvian scallop crudo, seared scallops on tender arepas, and Bandeja Paisa.
I came here for Happy Hour on my bday. We really enjoyed it. The happy hour menu is small but all the items are great. I loved the Mushroom Croquettes. Very well prepared, but the serving size is unfortunately very small. The sweet plantains are great and a good portion. I also liked the Arepas which go very well with all the other bite size dishes.
Jasmin H — Google review
Colombian restaurant with a small but diverse menu mainly geared toward gluten free dishes. The menu is small and simple with dishes about the size of tapas. It is best to order several dishes and share them with friends. The drink menu has a little bit for everyone with the house cocktails definitely worth a try. As for the dishes, the chicken wings and fried rice are definitely two to get. For drinks I would go with the rum punch, but be warned..it is strong and packs a wallop. Decor is nice, but sit away from the door on the cold nights.
Harvey — Google review
Whoa! Okay, this place is actually really good. I ordered almost everything. They were out of the smoked chicken, but I got the wings, and if that chicken is as good as the wings, I can see why they ran out! The flavor was insane. I would go back for their salad alone. Everything the server recommended was delicious! My faves were the wings, salad, arepas 💯 will be going back!
Marlen F — Google review
I so badly wanted to love this restaurant. And I do intend to go back to see if some of what I experienced was a fluke. On the plus side- the flavors were really good of everything I ordered. I also appreciate that the menu was clear for those with dietary restrictions. But heres where they lost me. Handicap parking requires a buffer area for loading and unloading. That buffer zone was overflowing with garbage bins so the person parked there needed to take up 2 spots to safely get in and out. Their parking in general is extremely tight with just enough space to drive in OR out - one vehicle at a time. There is technically street parking also tho. Short ribs were the toughest thing I’ve tried to cut, even after asking for a steak knife and giving up on the butter knife originally provided. It was a lot of work to try and eat.
Jack — Google review
Where do I even start? My sister picked this amazing place to celebrate her Birthday, since we are from Cali, she did her research and found out that the chef is from Cali as well! Food was so good 10 points, super fresh and very tasty, the tostadas and the papas took us home for a few seconds. I would like to highlight Jack our server, he was amazing! Definitely recommend Selva and for sure we will be back!
Fernando O — Google review
Selva is a great restaurant that serves South American fusion. Dinner is pricey and tapas / family style. For two, we got 5 or 6 plates and were satisfied. There are a lot of options to try, but the highlights are the fried rice and skewers. The Yuka fries were awesome too. I really recommend maybe trying this place for brunch, I imagine it would be less expensive. We ended up paying about $170 for this dinner, which is more than I expected to spend for the night.
Joshua P — Google review
Just a reminder that the dishes are Colombian-inspired and not necessarily Colombian, and it is more of a South American fusion. The dishes we ordered are amazing, they were flavorful and the sauces definitely complemented the food. If I were to rank my food, chicharron, arepas, and arroz chauffa on top. Obleas and mushroom croquettes in the middle. Tamales would be last. Lulo was a unique drink also, the waitress said it was a fruit in between kiwi & pear. I would give 4.5 stars if I could. My only issue was the portion sizes. While it does say small plates, I’d say it’s not worth the price. It’s a type of restaurant where you want to try new food but must have that extra disposable restaurant money. Overall, great service and food!
Woop D — Google review
I passed this place several times on the way to worser restaurants and after a meal that can only be described a utopian, I am compelled to drive by in the daylight to make sure it wasn’t just a dream. Our server was Jack who gently guided us to higher worlds: the sea scallop crudo and lamb belly. The chicken broth was like some magic potion that brought us back to life, nay, higher realms. Grateful to have finally gotten lost in the forest

Dishes such as pork banh mi, vegan duck noodle soup, and chicken cabbage salad are among the highlights. Operated by the family behind Sesame LA, this spot will soon serve as an incubator for emerging chef residencies and pop-ups.
Long Beach is becoming a food hub rivaling LA. It can go toe to toe with DTLA and its neighborhoods. Straight up. Sesame dinette is another punch 🥊. It hits. Delicious banh mi and meatballs..yes I said meatballs. Everything is sexy and succulent. On top of all that a vegan Vietnamese coffee topped with salted pandan. That’s crazy.

My boyfriend and I have been to Sesame Dinette many times, and it’s truly one of our favorite spots. It’s a hidden gem—really cute inside with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The Pho French Dip is absolutely amazing, and the Brisket Pho is just as incredible. The broth is what really sets it apart—deeply flavorful, rich, and truly something special. You can tell a lot of care goes into it. A big reason we keep coming back is Mike. He’s so kind, attentive, and genuinely great at building connections with customers. It’s rare to find a place where both the food and the people make you feel so at home. Highly recommend!

This Vietnamese spot quietly sits inside a bland strip mall but surprises in every bite. The pho was rich and fragrant, and their pho‑French‑dip banh mi served on Persian bread was unforgettable. I appreciated how inventive yet respectful their flavor combinations stayed. Seating is minimal, but the staff are attentive and efficient. It’s precisely the sort of hidden gem locals appreciate—not glossy, just excellent food

Nick's on 2nd Long Beach is a modern taverna located in the heart of Belmont Shores, offering classic American comfort food and an extensive wine list. The restaurant features an intimate space with walls of glass, a chic island bar, and a spacious outdoor patio for people watching. The menu has remained consistent over the years, featuring excellently made steaks, crave-able bar snacks like fried deviled eggs, and a renowned butter cake dessert.
I found this place as midway between our hotel and where my old college roommate lives. What a find! The service was attentive without being fussy, and the food was ::chef’s kiss::. I had the soup special and the California salad, which was tastier than any salad has a right to be. The only problem is that we fly out tomorrow, and the dessert I ordered (lemon cake), while delicious, could feed five people!

Nick's on 2nd: A Mixed Bag with a Delicious Payoff Nick's on 2nd in Long Beach offers a culinary experience that, while initially rocky, ultimately delivers on flavor. Our recent visit started with a frustrating hitch: despite confirming our late arrival via text, we were told upon reaching the restaurant that we'd missed our reservation. The hostess dismissed our text confirmation, and the manager echoed her stance before eventually, and graciously, seating us next. It was a slight bump, but one that could be easily avoided with better internal communication regarding reservation confirmations. The ambiance can be a bit lively, bordering on loud, but the exceptional food and drinks quickly overshadowed any initial annoyances. The appetizers were a highlight; the shrimp taquitos were perfectly crispy, and the deviled eggs offered a delightful twist on a classic. But the undisputed star of the meal was the seafood cioppino– it was truly delicious, a creamy, flavorful masterpiece. Despite the initial hiccup, Nick's on 2nd proved to be a worthwhile dining destination with a menu that consistently impresses. I've been to Nick's in Pasadena before and had a great experience. However, Nick's on 2nd was something else. I came here for a work related lunch with one of my favorite clients and had the best experience with our server, Jonathan. I ordered the Center Cut Filet with mashed potatoes and it was so tasty! It was done right. I also ordered an espresso martini which was great along with some spicy margs. We ended the lunch with dessert which was also good! I would come back here in a heartbeat because of the service we received with Jonathan. He was attentive, knowledgeable of all the entrees and drinks (my client and I were so indecisive on what to get and Jonathan broke it down and gave us recommendations) and was super patient about it! Anytime you come here to celebrate something, they gift you a congratulatory card signed by the staff. It's a simple gesture yet so thoughtful and makes the entire experience even better. My client told Jonathan I just moved into a new place and the card was to wish me a happy housewarming. How cute is that? Lol. I parked in a public parking spot about a block away. You can also park on the street if you find a space.

Nick's on 2nd is everything you want for a weekend brunch spot--elevated comfort food, great service, and a lively, upscale vibe. We started with the deviled eggs and tomato bisque with grilled sourdough--simple but done right. The soup was creamy and bright, and the deviled eggs were a surprisingly flavorful bite to kick things off. For the main, I had the short rib hash with broccolini and sunny side egg--this was the standout dish. The short rib was tender and rich, and the velvety hollandaise brought it all together perfectly. It came with a fluffy house biscuit that was just chef's kiss. We wrapped it up with the French toast topped with whipped cream and caramelized banana--sweet, soft, and decadent without being too heavy. Everything felt well thought out and made with care. Highly recommend for brunch lovers who want a little indulgence in a beautiful space.

Roe Seafood is a chic and contemporary restaurant located in the Belmont Shore area of Long Beach. The restaurant offers creative seafood dishes, including sushi and ceviche. Chef Rigo Bonilla focuses on sustainably sourced ingredients and presents reimagined German and Oaxacan-influenced dishes.
The food here is outstanding, with amazing attention to detail in every plate, making each dish both beautiful and delicious. Their wine selection is excellent, and I highly recommend the tasting combo, which includes five well-curated pours that pair perfectly with the food. Whether dining solo or as a couple, I’ve had a great experience every time I visit Long Beach. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, making it a fantastic spot for a memorable meal. Definitely a go-to for seafood lovers!

My second visit to Roe Restaurant for breakfast/brunch was nothing short of exceptional, solidifying it as a standout dining destination in Long Beach. Initially discovering Roe after another restaurant turned us away for having our dog, we were delighted to find their pet-friendly outdoor patio, which welcomes furry companions with open arms. The interior is equally impressive, adorned with charming trees and ambient lighting that create a warm, inviting atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless. We were promptly seated, and our server, Justin, provided impeccable service that elevated our meal. His friendly demeanor, attentiveness, and knowledge of the menu made every interaction a pleasure. Starting with the house Bloody Mary, garnished with a shrimp, bacon, and green olive, I was immediately impressed by its bold flavors—a must-try for any cocktail enthusiast. The small seafood tower was a delightful surprise, featuring fresh raw scallops that were a first for me and absolutely delectable. For my main course, I ventured out of my comfort zone with the Migas seafood scramble. The concept of seafood and eggs initially seemed unconventional, but this dish was a revelation. Perfectly executed, it ranks among the most memorable breakfast dishes I’ve ever had. The accompanying green salsa was a highlight—vibrant, perfectly spiced, and bursting with flavor, it’s easily one of the best salsas I’ve tasted. The kids enjoyed the French toast, which was equally outstanding and a hit with the whole family. Roe Restaurant consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience, from its pet-friendly accommodations and stunning ambiance to its innovative menu and top-notch service. Justin’s stellar service during both of our visits deserves special recognition. I wholeheartedly recommend Roe to anyone seeking a remarkable brunch spot in Long Beach—it’s a true gem!

⭐ 1 out of 5 – Very Disappointing Experience I rarely leave bad reviews, but our experience at Roe was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to share. We had to send back the braised pork dish—it smelled off and tasted like old meat. Definitely not something you'd expect to be served at a restaurant. The filet was just okay, but the plate was completely overwhelmed with French fries. It would've been nice to have a proper side of vegetables or something more balanced. The "blackened cod" wasn't even blackened—it was bland and underwhelming. Food aside, the service was equally poor. Our waiter took so long to even approach our table that the hostess had to come over to take our order. It also took nearly 10 minutes just to check out, which was frustrating. Overall, this was a letdown from both a food and service standpoint. There are too many great dining options out there to waste your time or money here. Would not recommend.
Kahawana S — Google review
The food and drinks were delicious with appealing presentations. Sofia provided excellent service and recommendations that lived up to all of my family's expectations. The manager, Gillian, stopped by our table to ensure my family was 100% satisfied with the food and service. The care and concern for our satisfaction were noted. We will be back!

Our monthly date night turned into a spontaneous food binge. After biking off the beach to the main street to find some food, we conveniently stopped right in front of Roe. We opted for their more casual takeout service, their market side. Shared their Blackened Mahi Sandwich, which came with kennebec fries with their Roe Sauce ($20) - such an amazing sandwich! Fish was cooked perfectly, the ciabatta soaked up as much of the sauces as it could, fries were out of this world with the additional sauce on the side to make all your taste buds work. The food was superb, and I can’t wait to try more! Service, on the other hand, was cold, hoping for a warmer welcome on the other side of this eatery.

I had originally called the restaurant making a reservation for 11 on a Saturday morning which ended up dwindling down to a party of 6 with no issues. The restaurant was extremely accommodating and happy to serve us no matter how large or small our party ended up being. The food was delicious however some of the portions did seem rather small for the cost. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The cocktails were great and I’m bummed I didn’t get a picture. Charred queso Oaxaca with short ribs, and the New Mexican Pizza & the Nicholas Sage. The corn bread was amazing, hot, delicious and so buttery. The Charred queso with short ribs was good, definitely more filling than I expected. However, the new Mexican Pizza was not for me. It was very oily & heavy, I don't know how to describe it but I only had 1 piece and couldn't finish it (which is rare, I don't have issues with greasy food). The Nicholas sage was delicious! It tasted very much like bourbon but it was good, had a hard kick (I usually don't have bourbon). Out waiter was awesome, friendly and helpful. It's slightly pricey and there's a small parking lot or street parking. Plenty of seating inside , at the bar or also outside.

I want to start off by thanking my server Christina. A true professional, she knew the menu front to back , she new all the ingredients and she made my wife and fell at home, thank you Christina. I’m giving 5 stars for the overall hospitality and food quality and uniqueness, I did have some minor issues with two of my dishes , but it was all cancelled out by the others. I had such a great time and I can’t wait to return. This is what I ordered : Chips and dips - $12 – Comes with hatch green chile salsa, Guacamole, black bean puree, and House chips. Nice starter, really gets you in the mood for south western adventure your mouth is about to take. Duck Carnitas - $16 – Duck leg slow cooked to perfection might have been braised, not sure but the meat just fell off the bone, salsa macha, chimayo chilaquiles, and pickled onions. This was hands down my favorite dish of the night. Everything went together so well, and the chiaquiles weren’t soggy !! that’s a big deal for me. Green Chile Cornbread - $12 – Made with Hatch chile, and topped with whipped honey butter and honey. This was good but you need to eat it right away, which I did not do, by the time I got to it was hard as a rock. I did still eat it and it was great. I really loved the charred edges the most. Charred Purple Cabbage - $15 – Made with mixed greens, oregano vinaigrette, roasted tomato, goat cheese, apples and topped with a quarter cut of charred purple cabbage. So many amazing flavors, my only problem with this dish was that it was very hard to eat, I tried to cut the charred cabbage and proceeded to flick salad all over the table. But overall a very good salad. Caramelized Corn - $9 – Corn, Morita Aioli,  lime,  Cotija, Paprika . Classic and creamy, spicy and sweet. Mushroom Mole Enchiladas - $18 – Grilled garlic mushrooms, Queso Qaxaca, mole, Sesame Seeds, Radish. Very smooth and rich flavor from the mole, I always love a good mole. And lastly I got the dinner special, braised lamb shank in a birria consommé with rice to sop up all that tangy, smoky, juice, A true treat. I’m sure I am missing a bunch of ingredients and my description does not do this dish justice.

This place is really cool, trendy and friendly. The customer service is top notch and the food is to die for. We started off with the Ceviche, which was fresh and flavorful. My friend ordered a chicken salad that was good and healthy. Me on the other hand, ordered the stacked short rib enchiladas with the Christmas salsa (mixed red and green). The enchiladas were exquisite, full of flavor, and spicy but not too spicy. I accompanied my dish with a mango margarita. The perfect combo. Definitely a cool place to bring your date, friends for happy hour (bar area) or a dinner out with the family.

Sura Korean BBQ & Tofu House Restaurant in Long Beach is a hidden gem offering traditional Korean dishes and tofu soup, along with sizzling BBQ plates. Despite some menu changes, the restaurant remains a local favorite due to its consistent and quality-centric Korean cuisine. The addition of Budae-jjigae in 2022 reflects the restaurant's evolution from traditional to more diverse palates.
It was amazing food and pretty authentic in my opinion since returning from South Korea. The staff was friendly . We came on an a slow day and the restaurant basically to ourselves. It was nice and spacious. I’m sure the atmosphere gets even better when more people are around. I will be coming again!

Food and service were phenomenal. Parking is tricky and very limited. Small space can have a wait time if you go during a busy time. Lunch specials don’t include the weekend. Our server was outstanding and very helpful, it was my first time there and he made the best recommendations. Now onto why I gave it 4/5 instead of 5/5. The price for 2 people getting 2 entrees and 2 appetizers was $100. For $50 a plate I would’ve like the atmosphere to be better and a little higher class. If it’s your first time here try different stuff they have a great selection and foods fresh.

Food was great: I loved the variety of items and amount of vegan options. We enjoyed everything we ordered. I have to say the music was on point. All the best k-pop songs! I wish the service was better. Our server rarely came by and took forever to get our orders taken. It wasn’t even that crowded. I’d like to go back and see if the service is better because the food was delicious.

Phenomenal! Everything was spectacular! Atmosphere was fantastic , great location , staff was very helpful and fun! Trevor took wonderful care of us! Can't go wrong with any of the dishes! Lots of vegetarian options! They are happy to customize too!

The food was 4/5 I got the beef tofu soup. It was extra hot. Sides were good besides the kimchi. They should taste the batch. Indoor was pretty hot and a lot of smoke due to the kbbq grilling outside. We ask to turn up the ac but they didn’t really do anything about it. Suggestion invest in some fans. Overall staff was nice and food was good.

Visited from out of town, recommended by some friends who lived nearby and Sura DIDN’T disappoint. Word to the wise, get a reservation EARLY - although they’re EXTREMELY flexible, the venue is a bit small and I wouldn’t want anyone missing out. Despite having a party of 8, we had a reservation and were seated IMMEDIATELY. Incredible hospitality, service, and of course, drink deals. Also heads up, they only have ONE working bathroom and there tends to be a line. But nothing too difficult to navigate.

Watching this place flourish over the years has been so wonderful. Their food is FANTASTIC. It's so vegan and vegetarian friendly. Idk how they do it but the vegan bulgolgi is amazing. The banchan is always delicious. The hangover ramen always hits the spot. Their happy hour is great too! And I love that they've got grills set up outside now. It's one of my favorite spots in Long Beach 🥰
Kate H — Google review
Honestly, hugely disappointed about this place. Big fan of Korean food, I came given the good reviews, and ordered a beef bulgogi, meat delicious like 10 out of 10… but the rest tasted like licking a rock… pretty bad, I was either shy/polite to send the dish back to the kitchen. But I would sure not be coming back to this place. People making the dishes should idk… have a bite or something before sending them out …

Cozy & casual! The food is plentiful & tasty. Fish & Chips was crunchy and not too greasy. The fish was a nice thick fillet. The tartar sauce was homemade & thick. The garlic peas flavorful & unique. Service was excellent and the dining area was fun & lively. Glad to have tried & will return for sure!

Cocktails and beer were really good. They have an extensive menu all around. The fried zucchini comes in large spears, which was nice, but the breading lacked flavor. Since they say they are known for their rib eye, we gave it a shot. For some reason, mine came out paper thin and already cut in strips for me. I didn't understand that. My sister's came out twice the size of mine, with tons of fat, and cooked medium well when asked for medium rare. Both didn't have the flavor as expected by an establishment claiming they have the "best in town". For the kids meal, my son's hamburger bun was charred and my daughters chicken strips tasted like nothing. The halibut comes out with this country fried steak like white gravy poured over the top. It wasn't bad, just...interesting. Our server, Cole misinformed us on so many things. He was wrong about what ice cream flavors they had, what fruit comes with the kids menu, the amount of togo boxes to bring out. Eh. It was enough strikes not to be a returning customer.
Kristine W — Google review
This is a gastropub and the food is truly good. Everything from the lamb shank to the meatloaf to the ribeye steak. It's worth the money that you pay. It's delicious! They even have an ice cream place right next door. This is a great place to go. Has a lot of options for everybody

Do yourself a favor and hit this spot! Drinks are on point & not overpriced, appetizers are all amazing and the food is top notch. Great service and great atmosphere. Try the wellington, wings and smoked old fashioned with a double of jack daniels bonded. Oh, and the bacon wrapped dates!

You can't go wrong. Truly fantastic food. Prime rib is one of the best ever. Onion rings are top notch as well!
Jinx N — Google review
The evening started off with cocktails. The pours were strong and, if beer is your thing, they have an extensive menu. However, after drinks everything went downhill. The fried zucchini was good. They come in large, thick spears, but the breading on them didn't have any flavor. Next the entrées. My kids ordered a hamburger meal and it came with an overcharred bun. The chicken strips were super bland and my daughter wanted fruit instead of fries. We asked our server, Cole, what fruit was in the fruit cup and he responded mellons and berries. When we got it, it was oranges, grapes, 2 cantaloupe, and some pineapple. They say they are known for their ribeye, but that is a joke. Mine was cut for me in strips for some reason and was paper thin. On the other hand, my sister's was twice as large and thick, but really fatty. They both tasted nothing like I would expect a promoted item woukd taste. We also got the halibut. It was strange as well. It had some like country fried steak gravy coating the top of it. The whole place just wasn't something we had in mind. When it came to ordering ice cream, again Cole gave us options. We ordered, and TWICE he came back saying they don't have those flavors! He mentioned 4 flavors. I ended up going next door and looking at the flavors and they had 8! Also the togo boxes are really small so get more if you plan to tasha food home. Not a great experience, so we won't be back.

The Ordinarie Tavern is a cozy and inviting establishment that offers a delectable selection of American cuisine, complemented by an array of beverages including beer, wine, and cocktails. The tavern's renowned burgers have been taken to new heights by Executive Chef Shelbi Ulms, who has crafted a burger reminiscent of the iconic In N Out staple.
From start to finish, this place hit all the marks. First off: ambiance. The design is effortlessly cool without feeling pretentious. Moody lighting, interesting décor, and the vibe just works. You walk in knowing they paid attention to the little things. Service? Top notch. Attentive without hovering. Friendly without being fake. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Now, the food & drinks. Delicious. Inventive. Each plate felt like it had its own personality. Cocktails? Bold, balanced, and beautifully presented. Bonus points for live music- it added just the right energy without overpowering your conversation. If you’re in Long Beach and want somewhere to impress a date, hold a chill but elevated get-together, or just treat yourself — The Ordinarie belongs on your “must visit” list.

This place and its waitstaff are quirky and well intentioned. However, when ordering apps and entrees, instead of pacing the meal, EVERYTHING was delivered at the same time, leaving us rushed to finish a salad and then conquer our lukewarm entrees. Steak Frites lacked any flavor and had to drench in salt and pepper. Considering how quickly the food was cooked the steak was cold and had a big brick of cold garlic butter. Sadly wished for more.
Josh S — Google review

Not sure how we found out about this place, but my wife got a tip and boy. Is it a good one? This place had the most amazing Halloween decorations set up in their restaurant. The food was over the top great. The service was over the top even on top of that, and overall, we gave this place an A plus plus. kind of tucked away, not easy to get to necessarily, but boy, when you get there, be ready to be surprised. This posting is a little bit late. Considering it's almost Halloween, but if you're able to see this and get over there while the Halloween decorating is still up, it's worth the payoff alone, everything was worth it again. The place is great. What a nice little find. you're welcome for this one, again.

The three of us made an early happy-hour pilgrimage to The Ordinarie, drawn by fun energy and bartender Sophia’s charm. The wings were spot-on—crispy, flavorful, and basically MVP of the night. Then came the blackened salmon… which arrived looking more ‘charcoal chic’ than ‘seared perfection.’ To their credit, they rescued it with a second attempt that redeemed the dish. The fries were solid sidekicks—golden and satisfying. Unfortunately, the taps weren’t cooperating, so we ended up with an okay IPA that got the job done. Early happy-hour scene? Pleasant and promising—though maybe things smooth out even more as the evening unfolds. All in all, a generally fine outing with a few hiccups, but enough fun and friendliness to make us want another round

Went to Halloween pop up on Promenade. Food delicious, but portions a ride small for price. Drinks in really cool mugs, but lots of ice, beers were priced great, had an amazing blonde ale i loved. French dip qas tasty came with salad or fries I had salad. Really amazing interior. Somewhat chaotic with service, brought extra order pit pie bites we didn't order and then went about asking if someone had ordered french dip, seemed chaotic but then they weren't capacity and working really hard. Servers were busy but nice. Didn't need them much as we had seen menu online and knew what we wanted. The menu is limited but this is a tavern so it makes sense in that context. primarily a bar. Really good tasty food, super cool inside, definitely recommend on ambiance alone. Drinks overpriced but good. Beer was great deal though. I'd get beer next time over 20$ iced down gimmick drinks. Mugs from Tiki Farm were cool.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a while, but unfortunately, the quality of food has really declined. The rice I had was chewy, tasted different, and had fewer vegetables than usual. The tofu, which is my go-to protein, has been getting smaller and smaller. On top of that, the egg roll had leftover vegetable scraps in it—there were parts of onions that were nearly impossible to chew, and this is the second time It’s happened. And I found chicken in my tofu fried rice and I’m vegetarian. It's disappointing to see the quality and attention to detail drop like this. I really hope they can address these issues, as it was once one of my favorite spots.

Cañadas Grill is a family-owned Mexican restaurant in Long Beach, offering a cozy atmosphere and authentic Mexican dishes made with fresh ingredients. The menu features traditional Mexican fare alongside American standards, including the famed Jalisciense dish Carne en su jugo. Hailing from Jalisco, the owners bring culinary glory to their offerings, such as Tortas Ahogadas and Mojarra Frita. Visitors can also enjoy Mexican breakfast options and delightful desserts like flan.
This small yet unassuming spot impressed me so much. I have been back more times than I want to admit. Their salsa is amazing. It was super spicy with little chopped up cabbage and oregano. It's some of the best salsa I've ever had! And you know what people say; a Mexican restaurant is based on how good their salsa is. I can't stop ordering the same thing each time I come. It's the carne in su jugo, one of their most popular dishes, and i can see why. I've never had carne so tender before. It has beans and bacon with a green salsa base that is *chefs kiss*. Their caldo de res was so flavorful, and so was their chile relleno. You also have to try their carnitas torta ahogada. It was spicy and frickin delicious. The roll was sourdough, so it was a bit tough, but it held up against the sauce and kept its shape, and didn't get soggy. Fyi: their micheladas are bomb bomb💣

This is the best Mexican food I've ever had. I wish I could go every day. The quesadilla was huge, perfectly cooked, crispy almost flaky on the outside, and intense flavor packed into the middle, without too much heat. I think only the salsa had any distinguishable heat, and it was still mild enough for me to enjoy. I got the combination quesadilla, and I'm so glad since each meat inside had a distinct and delicious flavor - the carnitas (pork) was fall-apart tender, the carne asada was amazingly savory, and the chicken and mushrooms added character and texture. Of course it had plenty of cheese which made each bite gooey and filling. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

We tried this restaurant for the first time last night and it was AMAZING! The food was delicious, super fresh with bright flavors. Fantastic chinese food! Came here for lunch, and had quite a spread of various dishes. All absolutely delicious. Server was very friendly, clean establishment, and affordable prices. 10/10

Dan Chinese Food Restaurant is very clean, which is a definite plus for a Chinese restaurant. However, the rest of the experience was disappointing. When we arrived, they mentioned there was no heater available for outdoor seating, but while we waited, the staff was busy helping another party turn on their heater. It took 20 minutes just to clear a table after the previous diners left, making the service feel extremely slow. As for the food, it was underwhelming. The beef noodle soup was especially disappointing—worse than instant noodles with beef flavoring. I’ve never seen shredded beef used in beef noodle soup before, and it just didn’t work. On the brighter side, their rice was cooked perfectly. Overall, the cleanliness and decent rice were the only redeeming factors.

Jasmin H — Google review
We got several items to share in our group. The food was all very good except for the chicken fried rice. The wontons in chili oil were good but i think the shape of the dumplings made the sauce not stick very well. Overall a great place to get dim sum. My favorite was the choe mein (with beef) and the garlic green beans. They were phenominal

Expensive Chinese food and smaller portions. We came here for dinner, so we ordered a full-size bowl of Oxtail noodles soup, and it was delicious. The full size is like a half bowl of Pho (Vietnamese noodles soup). Don't waste your money on the drinks. I got the classic black milk tea, and it was water down. I thought this was California, and you can't go wrong with milk tea. I was wrong. The server was slow, and we only saw him twice for order and brought the food to us. We have to flag him to get the bill. I can't imagine during the weekend if this is what you get for service.

Delicious food! What I appreciated most is that they were diligent in addressing a gluten allergy in my family. In addition to having allergies checkable on the ordering website, they also called me to ensure I knew that some of the items we ordered were not gluten free. It made us feel very very safe in ordering with a good allergy!

Had a great experience at this newer restaurant. Quite busy, even for a Thursday night. We got the dungeness crab fried rice that had actual chunks of crab. The three cup chicken was great, the chicken was cooked well with a light sauce that was just a little spicy. Lovely small join of ramen place. Friendly staff and ramen is good and tasty. I’ve ordered the shoyu ramen $16.45 hot tea $3.40 during the day time opens at 11am. I wish they got more choices of ramens to choose from. Restroom is clean, food speed fast, good crowd, $$ range, pay attention at their parking is at the back side. Front parking illegal.

Being a Michellin mentioned restaurant, we should expect good food, and yes, it's really good, unfortunately not having anything to compare it, as not a fan wanting to eat Ramen. The restaurant is very humble, nothing to be amazed by, but the service is kind warm and helpful.

Let me start off by saying that their food is exceptionally good. I really enjoyed all of their appetizers… Crispy chicken was very flavorful and super juicy . The sauce it came with was amazing. I also recommend the pork buns as they were also super juicy and melted in your mouth. the Ramen was delicious. The tonkotsu broth was very creamy and it came with a side of minced garlic. They also provided hot sauce. My friend really enjoyed the salt Ramen, but everyone agreed that the appetizers were a big hit. The servers were mostly attentive, but it was a pretty busy night. They were very nice and quick when I asked for the check and to go box. The ambience was dark, but great lighting to really give a spotlight on the food. I would go again! That piece of paper was my fault haha 🤣

Tasty Food To Go is a small, cash-only kitchen located next to Lams Barber & Beauty Salon on 10th Street. Despite its humble appearance, it has quickly become a favorite spot for Thai and Lao cuisine in the city. The menu features 24 items, each represented by a numbered plate framed on the wall. My go-to spot for Lao / Thai food in the L.B.C. I stopped in today & got soup because it was cold and rainy. Soooo good! I usually get the green papaya salad & / or pad see ewe but the soup hit the spot & was exactly what I needed. The owners are so kind. It really feels homey here. Down to earth service with delicious food & a comfy atmosphere. I came all the from the San Gabriel Valley because I knew it would not disappoint. The vibe here is so good & genuine. Sending blessings to these owners. The food & service brought sunshine to a gloomy day.

I found this steel wire in my food. Extremely dangerous they need to be more aware of this. Stop scrubbing pans with steel wool and start using a different alternative

I tried their fried rice and it was absolutely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, packed with fresh vegetables, and had the right balance of flavor and spice. The crispy topping and garnish made it look as good as it tasted. The portion was generous, and you can tell they really care about quality and presentation. If you’re looking for tasty fried rice or authentic Asian food, this place is definitely worth a visit.

I’ve had thai food from 3 other places this year & they don’t come close to Tasty Food To Go! So flavorful & reasonably priced for the portions you get. It’s challenging to pick a dish because everything is so yuuuum!!! Tofu Pad Thai (chose very spicy) is the best I’ve ever had: perfect taste & texture, just added some lime once I got home. My mum’s coconut soup tasted wonderful, the way the lemongrass & other flavors complement each other is such a joy!

Food was delicious. Chef/ cashier was super nice, gave each of my kids and orange before we even ordered. Atmosphere is a 4 bc it is exactly what you expect from a mom and pop take home spot. Don't expect fine dining when you are at an Asian take out place! Food came out pretty quick and everything was packaged well. We got pad see ew, pad kee mow, and yellow curry. Every dish was under $15. Good portions, yellow curry had enough to save for a 2nd meal. Pad see ew was shared between 2 kids and parents got a few bites in, so that tells you about the portion size.

I’ve been to this place a few times — the staff is always very positive and the food is excellent. The curry is absolutely delicious! There’s an elderly woman in the kitchen, and while she’s cooking it feels like your grandmother is making it for you — and it really does taste that amazing! It’s not exactly a restaurant, more of a take-out spot, but there are stone benches and tables in the courtyard where you can sit and eat. I really like it here and definitely recommend it to everyone!

My husband and I stumbled upon this gem about three years ago after a visit to the Long Beach Aquarium. We wanted to grab a bite before heading back to Orange County, and all I can say is, this place is nirvana. Since then, it has become our absolute favorite Thai restaurant, not just in Long Beach, but in all of LA and Orange County (and we've tried a lot). I’ve never gone out of my way to drive 30 minutes for takeout before, but this place is worth every mile. The food is consistently delicious, and the staff is always warm, welcoming, and kind. Today, something especially motivated me to finally write this review: The Thai Papaya Salad. I was just going to take a few bites of it before diving into my usual Pad See Ew (which I adore), while my husband got his go-to curry or Panang. But the salad was so bright, fresh, and flavorful that I couldn’t stop eating it, and that’s all I ended up having! That’s how good it was. This restaurant is truly a treasure. We used to have a favorite Thai spot in San Diego, but we’re so grateful we found something even better, and closer to home. If you’re in the area, or even if you’re not, do yourself a favor and stop by. You won’t regret it.

This is the best it gets next to Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos cuisine (having traveled to these countries my self) and the closest! Every time I visit SoCal, I make sure to go out if my way to get me some really good authentic pad Thai and beef salad (as shown in photos). I have not yet tried any of their other specialty dishes cause I never get tired of having the same thing here lol but I’m sure it’s super delicious, you can’t go wrong! High quality and fresh ingredients for a very good reasonable price for the amount of portions you get. Make sure to get a side order of egg rolls and Thai tea with your meal, super good and rich in flavor. It’s a hidden secret gem that’s definitely worth making the drive and finding a parking spot. Cash only and carry out but they do have a cute patio in the front where you can enjoy your meal.

Chinese restaurant
Northern Cafe, located in the former La Creperie Cafe space in Belmont Shore, offers a diverse menu of Chinese cuisine. From classic dishes like mapo tofu to cold options such as pig ear in chili oil, there's something for every palate. The handmade dumplings come with various fillings including fish, chicken, pork, and vegetarian options. The green onion pancakes are described as crispy and fragrant while the dry crispy pork spare ribs are highlighted for their flavorful spices.
First timer to this local chain of restaurants with several in SoCal. Very popular reviews with taste, quantity, and value. We ordered based upon recommendations of reviews and were not disappointed overall. The noodle bowls were well assembled and flavorfull. The dumplings were quite descent as a side to noodle bowls. The green onion pancakes were insufficiently onion sprinkled and lacked flavor. Service was efficient and fast. Complete a paper check box order sheet with reference to a pictured menu and not much needed for a waiter person. Overall, Northern Cafe is worthy of return visit. The Cafe was busy with a cue outside for dinner.

Ordered fresh noodles, got reused slop. Staff didn’t seem to care. We ordered three bowls of noodles and a side of dumplings. Two of the noodle dishes were supposed to come with flat noodles. What arrived looked off, but we assumed it was just overcooked. Looking at it again, looked like it came out of someone's mouth. I tried eating it, but with every bite, it looked and tasted worse. My wife’s bowl was the same with noodles falling apart into small mushy pieces every time we picked them up with chopsticks. Then I noticed a long noodle in my bowl, white on one end, dark and discolored on the other. That’s when it hit me: these were reused noodles, boiled twice, possibly from another table or even the night before. We didn’t want to make a scene. I quietly showed the waitress what was wrong and the pieces that had soaked up soy sauce unevenly. She didn’t apologize. Instead, she started taking photos of the bowl and said very little. Eventually, she said she’d take my dish off the bill, but not my wife’s, even though her bowl had the exact same issue. I even pointed out a big clump of stuck-together noodles, but can't loose too much money right? It felt like she knew what happened, but didn’t want to admit it. No apology. Just silence and a partial refund. I didn't even argue. I felt disgusted by the food and staff and just wanted to leave. hope I don’t get sick from eating leftover food. Don’t let bad decisions ruin your reputation.

Stellar service and delicious authentic food. I went as a solo diner and the server was incredibly kind and attentive without disturbing me at all! The food was good, a bit heavy and salty for most but absolutely what I expected from a Sichuanese restaurant. The server also informed me of this beforehand. Prices were unbelievable for the area. $15 for a large, deep, noodle bowl with perfectly cooked noodles, fresh bok choi, and perfectly stewed chunks of beef. Everything served piping hot. I will definitely be back!

Came on a Saturday night before closing, and we were sat right away. We ordered the chicken fried rice, orange chicken, house beef noddle soup, and pork soup dumplings. The fried rice and dumplings were our favorite. This place can get packed because it is small so it just depends. All this food was $59.22

Green onion pancakes are crispy, flaky, and fragrant. Dry crispy pork spare ribs with spices, amped up with chopped garlic and jalapenos. My favorite every time mala spicy prime beef noodle soup, tasty sauté of mushroom medly with Chinese celery - a perfect accompaniment to spicy dishes and their house special Spicy noodles for those of us who like it hot! I'm so glad they have good service and consistently delicious dishes!

Came here for Christmas and ate the most delicious dim sum and dumplings. This place is DELISH. At the table was vinegar, soy sauce, and a really delicious chili oil that was not spicy at all. It's a bit small inside but the service is really fast so the wait time isn't that bad. There is plenty of parking here also.

Bakery
Colossus Bread, located in Belmont Shore, is known for its decadent pastries and chef-driven bakery offerings. The Kouign-Amann, a French caramelized butter cake, is a popular choice among visitors. The bakery prides itself on using sustainably sourced and seasonal ingredients to create their hot loaves and pastries. Specializing in sourdough breads and classic French and Italian pastries, Colossus also offers gourmet pizzas and sandwiches.
Colossus is worth the hype! I dropped in while killing time in Long Beach and am happy I did. I ordered the Honey Lavender Latte which was a perfect balance of sweet and herb 🌿 For baked goods, I went with the following: 1) Cardamom Bun : $5.50 - Loved the simple yet elegant nature to this one. Just a hint of cardamom with a soft, warm interior made this a lighter option. 2) Pumpkin Almond Chocolate Twice Baked Croissant : $8 - seasonal special croissant that was unique. I loved the duo of 🎃 and 🍫! 3) Twice Baked Almond Croissant : Great outer crunch with soft interior. Solid croissant!

I needed to kill some time before my nail appointment, and I stumbled upon this bakery. I didn't get a chance to try a coffee (gave it up for Lent 😩), but i did try the iced tea/lemonade. The name escapes me but it was really good! The breakfast sandwiches were sold out, so get there early if you wanna try them. I had the egg in a basket....the bread was so good! I'm definitely coming back again. No seating! Grab & Go!

I had a wonderful experience at this delightful bakery! I highly recommend a visit if you are ever in the neighborhood. The coffee was exceptionally good. My friends and I enjoyed the Iced Gingerbread Latte with Cold Foam (7/10) and the Midsommar Latte (9/10), both delicious, with the Midsommar Latte being particularly delicious! We also thoroughly enjoyed the Citrus Mascarpone Oat Streusel Sweet Danish—a perfect 10/10! I appreciated that the tip was included, making the ordering process very convenient. And no extra charge for alternative milk options! Perfect ! I plan to return if ever near the neighborhood.

My favorite bakery in the area. They have a great selection of pastries as well as sandwiches and brunch options. Their drinks are also delicious, especially the strawberry matcha latte. The sandwiches are fantastic but if you can only get one thing I'd go for the pastries. The texture they achieve is out of this world as well as having great flavors and fillings.

love this place and it’s been a go for amazing baked goods and delicious bread. But I have to comment about the extortion for a cup of coffee. I previously was willing to pay it because they said prices were reflective of a living wage for their workers and the tip is also included. But now all of a sudden the tip screen is back. How much are you expecting us to pay for a cup of coffee and a baked good and also tip? Also please bring the seating back.

An Ideal Bakery, with Charm and Variety. PROS: The food and beverages are "out-of-the-park" good, honestly. The pastry I enjoyed was incredibly delicious, and surprisingly filling. The Vanilla Latte was flawless and served beautifully. The environment was intriguing, with so many tempting store items and local goods to look at while in line or waiting. The cashier was courteous, and everyone looked "in the zone" with their parts. CONS: The only con is the lack of parking in that region of Long Beach, which is out of their control. This shouldn't be a reason to not make a visit to 2nd st, and make a day of it by stopping by this spot. Excellent and Superb Spot to try in Long Beach.

Colossus is an absolute gem of a bakery. Incredible products, staff, service and selection of curated local goods. The open bakery is beautiful and everything that they put out is simply gorgeous. The seasonal items are always phenomenal and I strongly recommend checking them out! Coffee is nice with good milk alternative options, I originally fell in love with the San Pedro location and the Belmont location is just such an awesome extension of that. The Belmont location is so well put together, designed, and styled, plus it has a great menu throughout the day. Lots of seating outside and parking within walking distance. A lovely place with local roots bringing beautiful baked goods to the South Bay & Long Beach areas-a must try if you’re in the area.

Located in Shoreline Village, Long Beach, CA, Parkers' Lighthouse offers a relaxed atmosphere with mesquite-grilled seafood, sushi, and steaks. The restaurant features live music and an extensive wine list. Happy hour specials are available at the bar/lounge area on weekdays with discounted appetizers, drinks, and cocktails. The venue provides stunning views of the marina, Lions Lighthouse, and the Queen Mary across Queensway Bay.
First time here, and would definitely go back. The views from the patio are beautiful. The menu is varied, you can get some amazing seafood, steaks and even sushi if you want. I opted for the Seared Hokkaido Sea Scallops over Chive Cream-Poached Potato, Spinach, Bacon Lemon Vinaigrette, Radish Sprouts and my colleague went for the Day Boat Catch of the day with Garlic Roasted Fingerling Potatoes, Roasted Seasonal Vegetables. We added some garlic cheese bread and one had a cup of chowder. The scallops were seared nicely and tender. The fish dish nicely flaky and moist. We finished with the Warm Butter Cake with Strawberry Puree, Streusel Crumble, Vanilla Ice Cream (it was amazing!!) Would definitely recommend and will likely visit again.

The food here is very good! We also had a really good server, his name is Ben! I ordered warm crab dip, very good, and seafood linguine, also pretty good. She ordered a sampler dish that had sword fish, crab cake, vegetables, and potatoes, and she loved it! She also ordered an alcoholic drink, I don’t remember the name of it, I think part of the name was passion, but the drink had so much ice in it, she said she couldn’t taste any flavor. The drink was $17 I believe. So that is our only complaint. The staff was professional and friendly and the food was a 10, just not the drink. Also the outside is very pretty seeing all the boats everywhere. We will definitely visit again.

Fourth of July weekend Brunch was a great experience at Parker’s Lighthouse. This is such a beautiful and large restaurant, which allowed for us to be seated fairly quickly. The Hostess was very welcoming. We chose to sit out on the shady side facing the lighthouse. Our server Ella was great with explaining the menu highlights. Brunch was great. We walked around to view the restaurant which was immaculate and very well kept. Just simply a gorgeous location. Definitely one for the “favorites list”.

This place was mad cool. Went during lunch during the weekday. Fairly quiet but I loved the atmosphere. Also the prices were excellent. Got a full dozen oysters 🦪 for 40$, that’s amazing! The food great. I would recommend this place.

We had a large party for lunch. Our server was very nice and did not get put out with us asking for lots of things. I had the Kings plate- amazing! The fish, shrimp and scallops were perfect! Loved it. The clam chowder was outstanding. Different from other places- but so good! The only downside, and it may have been our fault, was it did take awhile for our food. Other than that a perfect meal.

Restaurant, that took my heart and soul from the first visit and has kept it ever since to every time I have the opportunity to dine there. Great menu options. Quick and welcoming service. And the food… always perfectly fresh and tasty. And you can feel the difference when your food arrives without sauces on it. Real taste of the sea 🙏

I had a wonderful experience. Warm bread 🍞 with soft butter was brought to the table as soon as I was seated. I ordered a fantastic cup of clam chowder soup, that really hit the spot! I also had a traditional lobster sandwich that came with an order of coleslaw and a side of crispy fries🍟. Everything was delicious and served up promptly! The service was great! I will return to King's Fish House when I visit Long Beach in the future.

My boyfriend and I happened to come around this place while walking Long Beach downtown and we saw amazing reviews. We went in and we were seated very quickly. The interior decor and the atmosphere were very calm and very nice. Our server was very informative and very knowledgeable of the dishes and everything. We had the oyster sampler along with the New England clam chowder as our starters. It was so delicious, the menu is very detailed about where each oyster came from. Our entrées were so incredible and they were recommended by our amazing server. I have never had such an amazing miso fish dish like this before. This dish was worth it. I highly recommend this place if you are around Long Beach area downtown, if you’re planning to go to the aquarium, definitely stop by here and check it out!

Mid. Server was great. Food was just okay. I'm a little disappointed since I'm only in town a few days. NOLA BBQ shrimp were very large with a good spice level but a little too sweet. Halibut tacos were a huge bust! twice as much pico than halibut and it didn't have any memorable flavors. I wouldn't come here again.

We stopped in Kings Fish House for dinner. We were seated immediately, the restaurant was pretty empty. I ordered three appetizers: albacore roll, calamari and beet salad. They were excellent; one criticism was the presentation on the maki roll wasn’t great. It was tasty but didn’t look so tasty. 4.5/5 My son ordered the salmon for dinner and it was exceptional. 5/5 . My wife had shrimp taco and scallops. They were also good - the shrimp was over cooked . 3.5/5 I had a bowl of chowder which was very good 4.5/5 We all agreed this place was a solid 8.5/10 - since they’re already close to a 5 star, I’ll vote 4 star since they’re not a 5/5.

The food was good, especially the eggs. I ordered French toast, eggs and bacon and it was tasty. The fruit was very fresh and delicious!! Our server was OK, although there were times he would argue with us about what we asked for despite knowing us knowing our individual preferences and how we order food. The food for our party came out at different times, with some people like me receiving food more than 15 minutes after other people who were in our party. The food was a bit pricey, especially for breakfast but maybe I'm not accustomed to California prices. But what was interesting is that the breakfast was more expensive than some of the lunch items. There was a bit of a wait for a table. We were initially told that it would be 30 minutes for our party of 11 but it took about 45 minutes. Other smaller parties of 2 and 3 also waited a while, likely because it was a holiday. When we asked another table for suggestions, we were warned that the chicken wasn't seasoned as well- which we later agreed with one someone in our party ordered the chicken tenders. Athough the buffalo sauce helped out with flavor. I never got to see the inside of the restaurant, so I'm not sure about the inside or what they offer or are suitable for. But I heard from several in our party and another close table that the lemon cakes were amazing!

Was expecting better, wasn't terrible but wasn't the best. Order was a bit messed up (everyone makes mistakes) so no biggie, asked if they can re do it and they delivered. We went Saturday evening around 730, and there was minimal wait to get seated. Service was good. Food tasted great. Those onion rings were really crispy, and the ranch that came with it was perfect. The sandwiches tasted great. I was just sad that good bagels were out, and the pricing on food is a bit high, but if you are willing to pay the price, it's most likely worth it.

Katella Deli Bakery & Restaurant is a feast for the eyes and the palate. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a stunning display of freshly baked bread, pastries, and desserts. The bakery is truly a dessert lover’s dream—so much so that it’s hard to choose where to start! The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting, making it a perfect spot for dates, family gatherings, or a relaxed meal. However, despite the amazing ambiance and food selection, our experience was marred by an incredibly long wait for our orders—over 30 minutes. It genuinely felt like our orders had been forgotten. By the time the food arrived, my hunger had passed, and I could barely eat half of my sandwich, which was truly disappointing. The manager did come over to apologize and offered a complimentary slice of cheesecake, which was a kind gesture, but no customer should have to wait that long, especially when they’re hungry. While the food was good and the cheesecake was appreciated, the wait time detracted from an otherwise perfect experience. If it weren’t for that awful wait, Katella would have earned a 5-star review from me. Hopefully, this was just an off day for their service because the potential for an amazing dining experience is definitely there.

I came to this restaurant around 11 a.m., and it was busy. Which is a good sign for any business. We did have to wait about 20 minutes to receive our food. As i looked around, i didn't see any worker standing around. They were all busy working their own stations. I was glad to see that even though they were busy, there wasn't a sign of trash on the floors, empty tables, or restrooms. There wasnt any stains on the floors, tables. This restaurant seems to be very big on cleanliness.

We had a dinner here then visited the adjoining pastry shop. Dinner was great nice service, beautiful restaurant, tasty food. My husband had a salmon dish and I enjoyed a large southwestern blackened chicken salad. The salad was huge. The place is very pretty and staff attentive. Some of the pastries we took home slightly missed the mark though. A chocolate croissant had such a small amount of chocolate in it it was sad. And quite dry. We didnt bother to even finish it. I also had a small cheese square but this as well was just a bit bland and just ok. The blueberry muffin was quite tasty and I would definitely try again cause some of their other desserts looked absolutely amazing.

Los Compadres is a local chain of vibrant restaurants that offer an extensive menu of classic dishes from south-of-the-border. One of their locations, known as The Godparents or The Drinking Buddies, is situated on Anaheim St. Upon being seated, guests are greeted with complimentary warm chips and salsa. A popular dish recommended by the waiter is the Enchiladas De Casa, which features taquitos filled with Mexican cheese, tender asada, and perfectly fried country style potatoes and carrots.
I must say that I was very impressed. The ambiance, the people, the food was just perfect. Went to go get a bite to eat after a very sad day (a friend's death) and could not have made a better choice. The food was warm and delicious. The presentation was right on. Waitresses were friendly and fast even though the place was half full. Hands down some of the most delicious handmade tortillas. Will definitely be going back. Thank you to the host, waitresses, and special shout out to the lady making the tortillas... you made my day

Great spot for really good Mexican. The aguachiles were fantastic with carne asada and huevos. Spicy mango margarita was great also!

We rode the A line from Azusa down to the Pike in Long Beach, we walked around exploring for a while, we were craving a good margarita so we ended up walking 1.5 miles to Los Compadres restaurant and it didn't disappoint, the service was excellent, we ordered food and margaritas from the Happy Hour menu and we were extremely satisfied. We will definitely go back the next time we are down that way.

Very good average spot. Location is rough... to say the least. They do have a parking lot. Food wasn't bad in any shape or form but at the same time nothing stood out. No complaints overall.

Seating was pretty quick and the hostess was very courteous. Plates are minimum 20 bucks and parking is hard to find but the food is well worth it. The food quality is really good and loved the chips with salsa. Chips felt freshly made, you get refill on soda and can ask for more chips and salsa which was just a bonus. The ambiance is pretty cool, plenty of tv's to watch the sports channels and their selections on drinks are pretty good. Overall, it was so worth coming.

Food is flavorful! Service is good. The drinks here are above average. The molcajete is fire! It's one of the better Mexican restaurants in Long Beach. Parking is limited, however they do have a parking lot on the south east corner of Pine and 12th

Panviman Thai Cuisine is a beautiful restaurant. The Thai spaghetti with Green Curry is pretty good. The chicken sate skewers were flavorful and juicy. The star of the lunch was the Mango Sticky Rice. The rice has a slight bite and chewiness to it with lots of sweet coconut syrup. The customer service is good and friendly.
Armando G — Google review
I googled and thought this restaurant sounded good for a friend birthday celebration. The food was ok overall but not as good as I anticipated... some dishes were not as flavorful as they should. For example, Pad see ew didn't give me the smoky and depth satisfying flavors ... Chicken Satay was bland as well as other appetizers. The ribs were the most bland, no smoky or charred and spiced flavors. They were more like boiled and mopped with a red sauce then baked in oven... I never has a Laab before so I can't give a feedback other than pretty tangy. The hot stuff stirfry was good but nothing unique or win me over. Similarly with the Ruby curry. Btw, any non-starch dishes dont come automatically with a serving of steamed rice. It's $3.00 extra per serving. I wonder if anyone can eat a Ruby curry without rice or bread... 🤔 The cocktails were pretty good. The service was very good.
Roostahktchn M — Google review
Food was not good. This was the 5th time and usually always good and service excellent. Not sure what happened. Soup was undercooked, mushrooms almost raw and very sour. Satay was ok. Service was atrocious. One star at best. No water refills. Staff was on their phones. One was on speaker phone. We didn’t get plates for the food. They didn’t clear the table of earlier dishes. They forgot we weee there to clear and bring the check. And we were downstairs, 15 ft away. Servers seemed annoyed. Bizarre.

Got to try this spot for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. Got their Thai iced green tea, one of the best I’ve had and many other food options. My favorite was definitely the panvimarn fried rice, panvimarn ribs and their Panang curry. The proteins for the pad Thai, and pad kee mao was also super tender and flavorful whether it was pork or chicken. Every dish was fantastic overall. They also give a ton of papaya salad. Super filling, will definitely come back!

Super cool interior, servers are chill and friendly. I'm a sucker for roast duck and the heavenly roasted duck definitely hit the spot. Delicious sauce and crispy skin, and surprisingly great value for the amount of food you're getting (depending on market price).

Sophy's serves up delicious, authentic Thai cuisine in the Cambodian Town neighborhood of Long Beach. The family-run restaurant is highly recommended for its huge menu filled with dishes including red curry, beef lok lak, and beef jerky.Customers are also recommended to try the lychee desert or the mango sticky rice.
I have to show Sophy's some love. First time eating there with friends, we felt very welcomed from the start. We ordered several dishes, and all of them were delicious. Everyone here was so kind and generous. My favorite dish was the chicken curry. I went back to get a platter of desserts, they were high quality, fresh and so good. Will be back again!

Interesting dishes. Take the fried tofu, it's usually the firm or medium tofu that most restaurants fry but this one was soft. So it melts in your mouth when you bite into it. Take the Angel wing, it's not just fried chicken wings. It's chicken stuffed. My favorite is their home made beef jerky. I get it every time I'm here. Overall, interesting creative dishes, freshly made except maybe some of the soup, generous portions, and reasonably priced. I'll never understand why they give you like a whole pot of rice but I guess some people love that much rice. I don't know if this is the best Cambodian restaurant but the food tastes great.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Always checking on us to make sure we were good. Fresh delicious food, we have a few dishes, Phnom Phen noodles. The garlic smell was intense and made my mouth water. The meat was a little on the dry side, but it was still delicious. Hubby had the Thai beef boat noddles and he loved it. The beef jerky was good. Just a little too peppery. We also had the Asian crepe. The space could use a refresh, but with good food and friendly service we can overlook the interiors and outside.

One of Long Beach’s authentic Cambodian restaurants. The food is very good, the prahok sauce my second favorite here out of all the other Cambodian restaurants. I just wish the steak was grilled better. They have a unique twist on their fish amok, I definitely recommend it. I also enjoyed the angel wings which were a little dry but the flavor was all there.

Sophy Cambodian Cuisine – A Gem Worth Returning To We’ve tried several Cambodian restaurants, and one thing is for sure—we’ve never been disappointed. Sophy Restaurant stands out as one of the best Cambodian dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment you step inside, the warm and friendly staff make you feel like family, setting the perfect tone for an incredible meal. The menu is filled with a variety of authentic Cambodian dishes, offering something for every palate. On this visit, I ordered the fried fish with herbs and vegetables, and it was simply delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced—crispy fish paired with fresh, vibrant herbs and crisp, refreshing vegetables. Every bite tasted like a little trip to Cambodia—it’s clear the ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are crafted with care. What makes Sophy truly special is the authenticity of their food and their devotion to customer experience. Whether you're a Cambodian cuisine veteran or a first-timer, they ensure every guest leaves with a memorable experience. For anyone looking to enjoy authentic Cambodian food, I can’t recommend Sophy Restaurant highly enough. This is a hidden gem that we’ll keep coming back to for its incredible flavors and welcoming atmosphere. Don’t walk—run to Sophy Restaurant! This is Cambodian food at its finest.

Placed an online order for 2 breakfast pizzas at 9:35am for a 10:15am pick up. Got an email saying my order will be ready around 10:15am. Showed up at 10am and let them know I was early and that I was there to pick up an order. Didn't mind waiting since I knew I was early. Just wanted an update and the girl told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. Waited until about 10:25am and asked another girl if there was an update and she said it would be 10 minutes. Waited until 10:45am and asked a third person for an update on my order and they said it was being boxed up. What is the point in placing an online order if it's not going to be ready? The whole time I'm waiting, I'm just noticing that all the people walking in and placing orders are getting their food before me. So did they just not even start my order to be ready for a 10:15am pick up? It seems like they started it, when I got there. Apparently it takes about a half hour, but that's exactly why I placed an order online in advance. I had to wait over 30 minutes past my pick up time. I walked out at about 10:50am. The service is horrible. On top of that, I asked for red onions and arugula on the pizza. They put such an excessive amount. I had to pick a lot of it off. The crust was burnt all around. Hard as can be. It wasn't even edible. I'm never going back. The service here was never this bad before.

Aroma Di Roma Coffee is a little slice of Italy right here in Newport! This charming café is the perfect spot for coffee lovers and anyone craving a cozy, European-inspired vibe. The coffee is rich, smooth, and expertly crafted—whether you’re sipping on a classic cappuccino or trying one of their specialty drinks, every cup feels like a treat. Pair it with one of their fresh pastries (the almond croissant is a must!), and you’ve got the ideal start to your day. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching. Aroma Di Roma is a gem that’s well worth a visit!

This is a nice place to grab a coffee in Belmont Shore. There's plenty of seating inside and outdoors (some of which is covered to protect you from the elements). The coffee is reasonably priced, but I didn't find the latte's strong enough for my taste. Personally, I didn't think there was much of a selection of cakes and pastries. Nice clean restrooms (which you have to ask for a key to enter). Nice friendly staff.
Steve — Google review
Let’s settle the gelato debate first. Aroma di Roma serves what might be Southern California’s finest—creamy, dense, and balanced without cloying sweetness. At $6.50 for four scoops, it’s a steal compared to trendy spots charging double for half the portion. Yes, grocery store ice cream is cheaper, but this is the real deal: lower fat, richer flavor, and craftsmanship that mass producers can’t replicate. The coffee gelato alone justifies the visit. Imagine espresso concentrate swirled into a velvety base with a ribbon of something between caramel and fudge—not quite either, but better. It’s deep, slightly bitter, and lingers like a good pour-over. If this flavor vanished, loyalists would stage a sit-in. Service shines here. Staff greet regulars by name, explain flavors patiently (try the pistachio if they’ve restocked), and never rush decisions. Their warmth feels authentically Italian, like the kind your Sicilian nonno would approve. Claro’s Italian Market? A decent deli, but their gelato lacks this punch. Aroma di Roma’s secret? They focus on freshness. Batches rotate daily, so flavors like blood orange or stracciatella taste vibrant, not freezer-burned. Pricing leans premium, but fairly. A $14 margherita pizza isn’t Domino’s. You’re paying for ingredients, not grease. Parking: Snag the 24-minute spot out front for quick grabs. For longer stays, free spaces sit one block away. Pro tip: Arrive before 3 PM weekends to avoid the post-beach crowd. Final call? This isn’t just gelato. It’s a passport to Italy via Long Beach.
Michael M — Google review
It really shouldn't be that difficult. I ordered the Aroma special, gave them my name. Waited 20 minutes until I saw 2 others getting their food. I asked the shaggy looking guy about my order and he said he got the wrong name down and dismissed that my old was just cold. Then when I opened up the box, potatoes were missing. My rating is well deseved. So many other options and dismissive staff.
Mr ( — Google review
Great food & atmosphere. HIGHLY recommend the Uova Benedetto, it’s so delicious. The cafe clearly has a strong community of regulars and the employees are really friendly. My only criticism is that the chai latte is extremely sweet. I think it’s best to stick to coffee here!

This place never disappoints. I met two friends for brunch, enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco with peach juice (only $28!), a breakfast pizza and the Benedetto which were both delicious and enough for 3 ladies to share. Elephant Thai Kitchen is a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Long Beach, where the vibrant flavors of Thailand and Laos come alive. This charming eatery offers an array of authentic dishes that showcase traditional recipes with a modern twist, making it a must-visit for anyone craving bold and comforting flavors.
Very good food. The quantity was a lot! We were more than full with our meals. Ordered Egg Rolls, Veg pad Thai with tofu, veg pad see eww with tofu and 2 Thai teas. The best part was that there was less wastage, they use paper straws and reusable steel cutlery. They have paper boxes and paper bags for to-go. Love it when restaurant owners are being responsible and not adding more pollution to our beautiful planet. :) New update- Re-visited again and this restaurant never failed us. The food was yummy as usual. We ordered Golden Tofu, Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Mango with Sticky Rice, and Thai iced tea. The staff was courteous and friendly. Quick service. The ambiance was good, no complaints. Their portions are big, their billing is very reasonable. Returned home happy with our stomachs full and our pockets not bruised, lol. :)

The Khao Soi is really good. I don't usually leave reviews but this was 10/10. The beef had tender and crispy bits (amazing), the curry is insane flavorful- panang + acid + heat + I'm tasting peanuts for some reason. And not super spicy for me at medium (I might try the spicy option, but no "Thai spicy" for me). I ate half before taking the picture sorry! Extra points for cute kitties in the doorway😺

Green curry was very tasty, quite meaty. Waitress refilled water without having to ask. Good Thai iced tea too, sweet and fragrant. Spicy meter is reasonable, "very spicy" is just about right for spicy-lovers (maybe a bit mild.) For regular folks it's quite SPICY 🥵 makes your scalp sweat

Home made Thai cooking highly recommended for those craving Thai food they have a lot to choose from there menu and everything is at an affordable price and they make one of the best chicken curries in the LBC the curry was made with love and had lots of flavor I was actually happy they gave more chicken than potato or carrots they give you so much food plenty enough to take home or eat the rest for later honestly the service was fast and the owners here are very nice people they also have Thai tea which taste good which they had a bigger size

I found this place about 3 years ago while visiting Long Beach. I finally had the opportunity to go back this past weekend and it’s as good as I remember. The service here is amazing, the restaurant is run by a handful of very friendly ladies. They were very attentive and helpful with the menu. I ordered chicken fried dumplings for my appetizer with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. For my entrees I ordered the chicken pad Thai and the spicy fried rice with chicken. Everything was tasty! We ordered the spicy fried rice under ‘medium’ spicy and it was a little too spicy for my taste, but still bearable and delicious. Keep that in mind if you can’t handle spicy foods. I also ordered a young coconut water. Very refreshing. And this place doesn’t serve alcohol. But no biggie, their Thai ice tea and other beverages go great with the dishes. Can’t wait to go back.

I've gone to many Thai restaurants trying their Pad See Ews and there's only one other restaurant (in SF) that made it this delicious. The woman who served us was also suuuuper kind, helpful, and friendly. She was fantastic and made the experience That much better! One must-try dish is the prahok ktis, a traditional Cambodian meal consisting of in-season vegetables and a flavorful dip. While the service may be a bit slow at times, the freshly made food is worth the wait.
Stopped in for quick bite. Asked our server for recommendations and he suggested the beef skewers. We were blown away at how juicy and flavorful they were! Also the owner was so friendly and caring and made us feel like we were at his home for dinner. Thank you again and I will be bringing all of my friends here

I can't wait to come back and try more of their other dishes. You already know its going to be good authentic food when it's a mom and pop shop, located in a sketchy shopping center and Cambodian music videos playing in the background. Disclaimer: you may have to wait for someone to take your order if you're dining in. Just be patient because they only have one staff answering calls, taking order and serving dine-in guest. Just know the food is delicious and food comes out piping hot. We got the Papaya Salad, Fried Fish w/ Mango Sauce, and Combo Pin Noodles. The food was so good I only got a picture of the Papaya Salad and ate everything else before we realized I haven't taken a photo. Sauces were all very flavorful, fish was perfectly crisp, and food was all on point. Definitely recommend trying this place when your in the local area!

Great food! You do have to wait a bit, but that means the food is made fresh. I tried Student Noodle, Phnom Penh Noodle, and Crispy Pork Belly. Crispy Pork Belly was the best. It's a long drive from LA, but it's worth it to try Cambodian food bc it's distinct from Thai/Vietnamese food. I'd go back to try fried fish and Khmer favorites. It's a diner style atmosphere with Cambodian decorations.

Pizza delivery
Thai Curry Pizza is a cozy eatery that offers a variety of classic and innovative pizzas, as well as other dishes like burgers, subs, pasta, and wings. The star of the menu is the Thai curry pizza, which puts a creative spin on traditional American pizza by using sweet aromatic curry with a coconut milk base instead of tomato sauce. Toppings include bean sprouts, bell pepper, onion, and sweet Thai basil for an authentic Thai curry flavor.
We came here on Saturday evening for dinner. You order at the counter then get seated yourself. There's no waiting staff, so don't expect any services, but I don't mind since the price was quite reasonable. We tried the Tom yum pizza and the Thai curry pizza, both were delicious. The pizzas were on a thicker crust. Also ordered green papaya salad and pad see ew, typical Thai dish. They also open until 11 PM, so definitely a good place to satisfy those late night cravings!
J T — Google review
If you’ve ever thought, Man, I love Thai food, but I also really want pizza, then congratulations, you’re my kind of person. And also, you need to get yourself to Thai Curry Pizza ASAP. Let’s start with the Tom Yum Pizza—because why settle for regular old marinara when you can have a sauce that slaps you in the face (in the best way possible) with tangy lime, lemongrass, and just enough spice. The combination of shrimp, mushrooms, and fresh herbs on top of a crispy, cheesy crust is pure chaotic genius. It shouldn’t work, but somehow, it absolutely does. Then there’s the Thai Chicken Curry Pizza, which is basically if yellow curry and a pepperoni pizza had a delicious little baby. The yellow curry sauce replaces tomato sauce (because who needs tradition?), and they load it up with juicy chicken, peppers, and just the right amount of spice. It’s like a trip to Bangkok—minus the jet lag and questionable street food choices. Thai Curry Pizza isn’t playing by the rules. It’s weird, it’s wonderful, and it’s the only place where it’s socially acceptable to dip your pizza in sweet chili sauce. 10/10 would recommend.
Kelvie M — Google review
SO good, a must try. My friend and I went a few weeks ago and we were both a bit skeptical at first. But after we tried the Thai curry chicken pizza we had ordered, we were hooked. I could not stop eating it. It was delicious, I definitely want to go back sometime. Also, the owner was very friendly and chatted with us for a bit after we ate.

The tofu Thai curry pizza owns me. I’d trust it with my life. It’s there for me when things feel bleak, and also when I just wanna toss myself a little treat. The crust is this soft, cushiony bread pillow for my mouth. Oh and shoutout to the fishes. The fabulous one (you know, with the mascara, who knows she’s fabulous) — that’s who I aspire to be. So yeah. Five stars. Thank you for your service. (Btw — call instead of online order for pickup if you wanna save a few bucks and don’t mind potentially getting their VM several times during busy hours. I’ve also splurged on delivery out of laziness and so worth it)

Thai chicken curry pizza was cooked to perfection. Nice well done crust, bouncy cheese, subtle curry flavor, so divine. Grilled beef salad was a bit spicy, but well balanced sweet sour n salty flavor typical of Thai cuisine. Establishment did not have AC. Ordered togo

Angry about how I've lived this long and never tried the tom yum shrimp pizza until now. I love the explosion of flavor on this pizza, right amount of spices/sauce/cheese ratio. It's absolutely perfect for a change from the paper thin margherita that I usually get. Gonna be on my regular pizza rotation going forward.

It's as easy as 1.2.3 Great crew. TY for the big portion of brisket, flank beef, tofu & mushroom pho, and extra basil. Soup could've been hotter & noodles less stuck together but still YUM. Lemon grass chicken was good, too. Open late (till 10:00), perfect for refueling after a night of symphony.

I had the vegetable stew and it came with some condiments normally not found in many Vietnamese restaurants such as the salt and pepper mix. Too bad the stew was already a bit too salty so that condiment, though a cool idea, wasn't usable. The stew itself was very flavorful but, as mentioned, a bit too salty and the broth was thin so it was really more of a soup than a stew. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

This place is in downtown Long Beach. The public parking is good. The first two hours of parking are free. Each hour after will be $2.00 I ordered the pho with wide noodles, brisket, rear flanks, and meatballs. The broth is good and very flavorful. But a tiny amount of noodles, only two pieces of flanks, one and a half pieces of meatballs (one meatball cut in half into two, there were three half meatballs, a total of one and a half), no brisket. My daughter added shrimp to her order. Shrimp is an additional $3.00, and there were only three shrimps.

I ordered pho with wide noodles (shoelace wide) brisket and rare flank and shaken beef with fried rice. Pho was 3.5/5. Does the job. Broth tastes good but could use more beef. Brisket is not as fatty or as "briskety" and could not tell apart from "rare" flank. Also, I should have ordered the shaken beef with white rice. Flavors were too overpowering with fried rice and bordered on being too salty and there weren't too many beef pieces. 2.5/5. Overall it does the job but could be better. Portion size is normal. I'm not a heavy eater but finished both dishes in one sitting so they could definitely be larger. I think if I just had the pho I would have been left wanting more food.

So many positives! I try and go for pho for dine in only because usually it doesn't hit the same for home delivery until I discovered this place. I love how everything is packed separately, in good quality spill proof containers and how everything (including the veggies tray that separates noodles from broth) is microwave safe. The biggest pro for me was they vegan pho and broth option that actually tastes amazing and authentic. Kind of rare to find in long beach.I did also get the fried vegetarian baos too and it was so good. The baos filled me up and the pho lasted for 2 other meals. Nothing negative to say!

Super friendly and not crowded at all. Highly recommend stopping in! Good prices for way more than I could possibly eat :)

The meat ball is GOOD 👁️👄👁️🤌. I swear it taste exactly like what we have in Vietnam. Other than that, broth is 👌, noodles is a bit hard and plain, they probably let the noodles sit in the bowl for long time 🤣🤣. The proportion is too big for me to finish 💀. Overall: pho is delicious .

Best banh bao ever !! You have to try these. “Crispy bao” Soft and doughy with a crispy outer crust. I usually order over the phone for pick up, the delivery services are getting ridiculous. I’ve ordered everything on this menu and these are my favorite things. I also love the braised beef stew. Very rich broth with large chunks of beef and vegetables. Great spot to dine in or take out.

Thai restaurant
Kin Long Beach Kitchen is a new Thai restaurant in Long Beach that is decorated with modern and stylish decor. The food was better than expected, and the iced tea with a popsicle was especially fun to order. We recommend the colossal crab meat pad Thai and mango sticky rice at this location.
I was in town visiting and my friend suggested this restaurant. It’s top notch. I was really impressive with the customer service and the food. The food is made to order. Fresh and not over cooked. I had the fried rice and the coconut soup and they both were amazing. Probably one of the best I’ve had among Thai restaurants. The wait staff constantly checked on us and the vibe in the restaurant was very welcoming. The prices were great. I felt good after my visit. Definitely stop by here

We were very happy to come across this place and try new food in long Beach. They have a great lunch special so we decided to have a bit of everything that sounded good, good thing for me they had pictures to help in deciding what to pick. Everything came out hot and smelling delicious. We will be back and try other items on the menu. I did recommend trying the ice tea special, its fun to try once. Left very satisfied and happy. They have their own parking lot, but I'm sure it get crowded during dinner hours. Make sure you come hungry , because you're going to want to try everything on the menu. The work staff was on point and to help with any requests we had and to explain what some of the items we order were like. This is a little gem that should be shared with friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful lunch !

I recently visited this restaurant and had a great experience overall. I ordered the Tom Yum soup, which was absolutely delicious - flavorful, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. I also tried the Thai tea, which was just okay, a bit more on the average side. For the main dish, I had the spicy Pad Thai. It was a little rich for my taste, but still tasty and satisfying. What really stood out to me, beyond the food, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful, which made the meal feel even more enjoyable. The interior of the restaurant is also worth mentioning - it’s playfully and thoughtfully decorated, creating a friendly and welcoming vibe. Overall, I’d recommend it for the food and especially for the atmosphere and service.

Review for Celiacs / Gluten free: GREAT food and very gluten free friendly. The menu clearly labels which items are gluten free. Certain dishes not labeled GF can be modified upon request. The waiter was knowledgeable about celiacs and confirmed the kitchen can take steps to avoid contamination (gloves/tool swap). Fryer is not dedicated GF. And the food was delicious! I had the Tom Yum (extra spicy) and the colossal crab meat Pad Thai. The crab meat was succulently sweet and big chunks of meat. The Tom Yum had so much seafood in it. Big scallops and big muscles. The spice level was perfect. Very hot and not excruciating. My sister ordered the Papaya Salad (delicious) and the spicy pad Thai (also delicious). I am very sensitive celiac and I felt fine afterward. The Thai iced tea also comes with a frozen Thai Tea popsicle sticking out of it.

This is one of those rare spots that completely lives up to the hype. The crab fried rice is easily the best I’ve had anywhere in LA/OC. They aren't stingy with the crab, it's perfectly seasoned, and not greasy. Their pad Thai is just as good/it’s the closest I’ve come to the flavors I remember from my trips to Thailand. Prices are more than reasonable given the quality, which probably explains why it’s always busy. The only downside is the outdoor seating...it can get hot and humid, so if you have the option, definitely choose an inside table. Overall, Kin is absolutely worth the the wait, and it’s become my go-to for authentic Thai in this area.

This place is the bomb!! Beautiful restaurant, amazing food, great atmosphere and wonderful staff. The dishes are well made, full of flavor and delicious. They do it up!! And the prices are very reasonable. Love it, will definitely go back!

Outstanding meal and will definitely return. Met coworkers here for lunch and I can see why it is on their weekly rotation. The menu has a wide variety of traditional s d unique items, they have a great lunch special, and colorful photos of many of the dishes. Once we ordered, the food arrived quickly which is always nice for a working lunch. All the dishes were vibrant, flavorful and exactly the spice level requested. Taking our allergies into account, they offered alternatives to some dishes and there were no issues.

I really enjoyed the crispy bok choy! The avocado rolls were like a salad wrap. My children really liked the popsicles and Thai iced tea of course. The lychee iced tea was refreshing not too sweet. Only thing I would change is to tell them to go easy on the charring of the meat, the crab fried rice tasted a bit burnt, however the charring on the shrimp in the shrimp fried rice tasted amazing though, the shimp are big and a good portion size. Nonetheless it was a great place and I will definitely return.

Restaurant
Nestled in Cerritos, Rice String Noodle Shack is a vibrant eatery that offers a delightful escape into the world of traditional Cambodian cuisine. With its inviting shaded patio seating, it's the perfect spot to enjoy comforting noodle soups and flavorful stir-fries. Diners rave about their hearty rice porridge soups and garlic noodles, which have become family favorites over the years.
This Cambodian restaurant is the ultimate comfort food destination. They have homey dishes like Hainanese chicken, BBQ beef skewers, and crispy eggrolls. I love how each entree is accompanied by a nourishing broth on the side. Coupled with the sea cream iced tea was a heavenly treat.
Jacob — Google review
I give a high rate for this restaurant. The #1 is authentic Cambodian noodle. It can come with soup or dried. If you order dried noodles, it comes with a big pork bone onside. This one is pretty good and the big pork bone is nice too. Student noodle is dried small noodles. I am just okay with this because I don't like food too oily. It tastes good if you don't mind it is too oily... 😆
Ivy H — Google review
I ordered dinner from here the other day. I ordered two rice porridge soups with chicken and two fried rice dishes I forgot which but they all delivered. My mom was feeling sick and she really liked the soup. She said it tastes like Mexican chicken soup with rice in it. The noodles were also great. I think they were garlic noodles which my dad devoured. He really likes them and said he'd definitely order the same next time. I also ordered spring rolls which were huge and also great taste. I will definitely return to try the rest of their dishes.

Food was incredible. The servers here are polite and are knowledgeable about the menu. I really liked the fluffy bread donut taste thing they had. I also loved the beef skewers. Highly recommend!

Man this place is really good. Everything here has so much flavor. Really love the thai tea here not to sweet or bland. I got the beef stick man that's freaking delicious. Everything is spot on my new favorite spot. Tried the egg rolls and Cambodian fried rice. The Cambodian fried rice is a must try. Anybody in the area should really try this place out.

Wow this was a great place to eat! This was my first time trying Cambodian food. It reminds be of Vietnamese and Chinese food. They even have some dishes that you would find from other cuisines like Hainan Chicken, spring rolls or egg rolls for example. I only got a chance to try this place because my friend recommended me to it. The staff seemed laid back and was quite friendly. We had the Phnom Penh House special. It was so good, you get to choose the noodle that you want and it came with a beef broth soup with bone and marrow in it. Would come back for just this alone. We also tried the Hainan Chicken, the Loat Cha, which was very tasty as well. Their Beef screwers are really good! We were debating to get the 3 with rice or the appetizer with 5. Get the 5! There is plenty of parking and a good amount of seating inside. The decor was cool, and overall we had a great experience. There are high chairs in case you have a kid that needs one. When we went there was also a drink special, so look out for those as well. Will definitely be back if we come back into the area! Until then !

We had a great time here at this restaurant. All the dishes were delicious, but the chicken wings were the best. The sea cream taro milk tea was good. I ordered 25% sweetness, but it was pretty sweet for us. Overall, it was a good experience. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.
Thao P — Google review
First time trying Cambodian food. Unfortunately, our first mistake was not asking the server for recommendations. Reading the great reviews and rating makes me feel bad with my 3 stars but take this from someone with fresh take on these meals. 1. Seafood noodle soup, dry, with bone soup on the side. Half and half small/thin rice and egg noodles. The noodles were overcooked, the extra soft noodles just didn't bode well with me. Regretted getting seafood instead of beef and meatballs as my initial choice. Anyway, the seafood came with shrimps, 1 mussle, small piece of squid and scallop, slices of fish cake, and 3 whole pieces of imitation crab. The soup was okay, not too rich. 2. Me ka tang - pan fried noodles with beef and veggies. Again, extra soft noodles. Maybe that's normal, but just not for us. 3. Bai mon bowl - rice topped with veggies and chicken, and an egg. I didn't try this but was told it was okay, not something she'll order again. The staff were friendly and place was packed so we probably just didn't order the good stuff.

Lacquered Restaurant is a Long Beach gem known for its impeccable service and flavorful food. The owner, Diana Vu, takes pride in offering well-seasoned dishes with scratch-made sauces and generous portions. Customers rave about the delicious fried and grilled chicken, crispy pork belly, and juicy chicken with extra crunchy crust. In addition to their solid menu, Lacquered also offers an organic chicken meatball and garlic noodle special that has received high praise.
**Long Beach's Hidden Gem!** I've been living in Long Beach for four years now, and I can't believe I never discovered this place before. If you're looking for the best fried chicken, this is the spot! If you're craving delicious chicken tenders, this is the place! If you want a chicken bowl with all the fixings, folks, this is the place to go! This place offers a little bit of everything. From fish and chips to tangy salads and tasty garlic noodles, it truly rocks! The owners and cooks, Scott and Dianna, prepare everything on the menu, so you can't go wrong with any choice you make. They even create and make dog treats! Once you eat here, you'll definitely come back for more! Be sure to say hello to Scott and Dianna when you visit. I personally recommend the garlic noodles with the grilled chicken bowl. Lastly, please be patient with the cooks, as they prepare everything fresh and made to order. And don't forget to try Dianna's chocolate chip cookies—they're delicious! Buy 6 chicken tenders and get one free! They Cater too!

I visited some friends in Long Beach and stumbled across this place running errands. Chef Diana was great. Ordered the large garlic noodles and chicken tenders. As the sign says "Food made to order. Please be patient, it's worth the wait!". Yes definitely worth the wait. Chef Diana worked for Wolfgang Puck, so the food is top notch. Will be coming back again.

Don’t let the simplicity of Lacquered fool you, this place delivers. The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is unmatched. Diana and Scott were incredibly warm and welcoming, from offering free samples to engaging in genuine, heartfelt conversation. When I took my first bite, I turned to my wife and said, “Those aren’t just cooks back there, those are chefs.” The night before, my family celebrated my daughter’s engagement at a well-known Brazilian steakhouse in Beverly Hills. With a party of nine, we expected a memorable evening, but unfortunately, the experience ended on a disappointing note. Lacquered was exactly what we needed to restore our spirits. It’s not about a fancy name or a 90210 zip code, a truly great restaurant delivers exceptional food and an unforgettable experience. And Lacquered does just that. Thank you for singing Happy Birthday to me, it meant more than you know. Oh, and the fried chicken? Hands down the best I’ve had in Long Beach. Five stars. 90210 could learn a thing or two from 90803.

I love this place. The food is real, and the people are too. The food is excellent and plentiful. But also, this is the sort of place that builds community. So, if you value that in addition to excellent comfort food, you should give them a try. We are suckers for Mac and cheese, garlic noodles, veggies, spring rolls, chicken tenders, and fries, but honestly you have no bad options here.

Delicious Fried and grilled chicken severed here! This was my first visit and I loved it, The owner is really nice and has a positive attitude. They also sell Home made dog treats. All menu items are made from scratch. The ranch dipping sauce is tasty!

Really wanted to like lacquered, and have been wanting to try it for years. Unfortunately, I may have built up my expectations too high. Ordered the fried chicken and the signature garlic noodle topped with grilled chicken. Although both dishes are passable, but I was looking for much more. Fried chicken was crispy, but the meat under the crispy skin lacks seasoning/flavor. The garlic noodle is a miss, it's more like a soy sauce chow mein than garlic noodle. I expect garlic noodles to be garlicky, savory, and buttery, but it wasn't any of that. All and all, it's a decent meal that you may expect from a neighbor's kitchen.

Honestly if you go into this place they're fine but if you try and order from doordash they constantly mess up your order and I feel like they just do it on purpose. Right order the croissant sausage sandwich with white cheddar and they gave me this.

This Panera Bread location is fantastic! The service was quick and friendly, and I really appreciated how attentive the staff was. I had the Toasted Frontega Chicken Sandwich with a cup of Tomato Basil Soup, and the flavors were incredible! The sandwich had the perfect smoky taste, and the soup was rich and hearty. The ambiance was peaceful and clean, with a warm, inviting design that made my visit even more enjoyable. It’s the perfect place to grab a meal, catch up with friends, or even get some work done. Highly recommend!

Panera bread is too experience compared to the dull small portions they serve. It's more of a samples eatary than a restaurant. They told us they don't serve breakfast after 10:30 AM. Even most hotels don't stop serving breakfast before 11AM, let alone restaurants. The best thing they have is coffee
Dr. A — Google review
Been going to Panera Bread Cerritos. The food is always great. However, there seems to always be some type of drama going on there. People will look at you as if you don't belong there. I pay it no mind, I'm always going to do me period! A new cashier calls me dear and told her to call me mister or sir, she continues to say dear, just rude. Hopefully, she won't make me pop off anytime soon. Other than that, it's all good.

We decided to try something different and I ordered a teriyaki chicken broccoli warm bowl. It was drenched in sauce. So gross. I ate it because there wasn't going to be anything else for dinner, and at today's prices, I couldn't afford to toss it. Every bite was literally soaked in teriyaki sauce. My husband ordered the Baja chicken warm bowl and it was just barely warm, not hot. He had to warm it up in the microwave, but his tasted ok. Just a little small for the price. He was still hungry. I feel like Panera is going downhill. My daughter was recently at the one in Lakewood and she received refrigerator cold macaroni and cheese. She told them it was cold and they told her there was a microwave available.
Linda B — Google review
Definitely not the first time experience at Panera bread, always nice to have a breakfast, brunch or a flat bread there, this location is so nice and spacious, super clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful, caramel latte and a nice egg ham and cheese sandwich by the outdoors area in the sun is all you need to start your day, there are plenty of parking spots and spots specifically for curbside pick up and 20 minutes parking, I would recommend this place for all Panera bread lovers, come and try it

This place is awesome. I love how big it is and the workers are always have bright smiling faces and their energy is high. They have self help stations which helps for those who are on a lunch break. The food is separated from the drinks so that also helps the line not to be so long. The soups are good. Just as well as the pastries, especially the large Cinnamon roll. The prices are affordable as well. I would recommend this place.

Chiang Rai is a bustling and popular spot that lives up to its reputation, although finding street parking can be a hassle. The curry roti is highly recommended for its bright and flavorful curry served with deliciously oily roti. This restaurant has been recognized by the Michelin guide, offering amazing food in a cute little setting. The Roti with yellow curry appetizer is particularly praised for its crispy flatbread and divine curry sauce.
This was definitely one of our favorite Thai food experiences, especially as we love kha soi, and theirs was superb, and that they specialize in northern Thai cuisine. The fried chicken was excellent as well as the pad thai. The servers were friendly and the food came out quickly. And the prices are very reasonable for the quality! We will definitely be back. I suggest coming early or making a reservation as the space is small and popular.

Avoid the oysters. We had the oysters as an appetizer and spent the evening on the toilet. There was four of us who shared the oysters and it affected us all. Im sure this rarely happens and that's the risk with eating shell fish. Service and atmosphere was great. The rest of the food was good. The kobe boat noodle was rich and was told the seafood hot pot was also good. Oh and the mixed fried rice wasn't bad either.

First time here based on Michelin recommendation. We came on a Thursday night at 630pm and remarkably there was no wait. The Roti and Yellow Curry was very flavorful and filling. The Khao Soi Soup with Ribeye was a texture treat, luxurious, and filling. We also had the Chicken Green Curry which featured real thai eggplant, tons of veggies, and had a lighter green pepper flavor broth than traditional. And a great value, our bill was only $60 after tip!

The food at Grilled Fraiche in Long Beach was outstanding. The oxtail bowl was perfectly cooked, with tender oxtails that could be easily cut with a fork. It came with Jasmine rice, fresh veggies, and a plantain. The size of the bowl was impressive, much larger than grandma's gumbo bowls. They also offer a Jerk sauce that adds a delightful kick to your meal without needing to use too much.
I've been a long-time fan of Grilled Fraiche since 2016 when they were still rolling around in a food truck. Grilled Fraiche is a Black-owned Cali-Caribbean cuisine. They have a large selection of vegan and halal meals. I first met them at the California African American Museum during an exhibition opening party. The owner, Peace, was running around back then and he's still running the place today! I'm so happy that he went from a food truck to three locations. I've been to the South LA location and finally Long Beach. The food is delicious and fresh. We ordered the vegan crab cakes, Cajun onion rings, chicken street tacos, chicken garlic noodles with vegan dream sauce, and bread pudding. The vegan crab cake has a good texture and flavor. I love the Cajun onion rings, very flavorful. The chicken garlic noodles are very garlicky (in a good way) and buttery. The bread pudding was really good and I need to get more of that! That fried plantain still hit the spot, too. Please come support them at this restaurant!

I’ve been to 3 of the Grilled Fraiche locations and each has its own thing I like. What I like about the Long Beach location is the healing energy you feel when you walk in—thanks to the thoughtful and uplifting quotes. The essential oils diffuser, the subtle candles, mildly upbeat music, and flora inspired decor all provide a homey feeling. The service was outstanding—from our attentive and prompt server Marley to the chef Angelica. They make sure you get exactly what you like and that it is to your liking. They also provide excellent recommendations. Don’t get me started on the food!!! Their menu has options for the meat lover (such as myself), those who prefer plant based foods, and everything in between. I especially loved the patties (we tried the spinach, curry chicken, and spicy barbecue chicken) and the oxtail. I couldn’t decide which I liked more between the classic shrimp and grits I got and the shrimp and salmon croquettes my fiancée got. They have a selection of sauces for every taste palette. I also like that you can sit down if you want or get your food to go. I recommend this spot.

I was floored by the food here the oxtail bowl I had was cooked to perfection, I could cut the oxtails with a fork they were so tender, with Jasmine rice and fresh veggies with a plantain also. Pictures don't do this bowl justice, it was wider and deeper than my grandma's gumbo bowls. They also have a Jerk sauce that you have to try, it adds a nice kick to your meal and you don't need to use the whole container. My friends had the shrimp and grits, and the grilled salmon on noodles. They loved every bite, highly recommend this restaurant. It was clean, the service was good, and the staff made me feel comfortable. A great experience.

Koh Ruessei (Bamboo Island) Noodles Restaurant is a charming and cozy spot with outdoor seating, offering a selection of wine and beer. While not entirely plant-based, the majority of their dishes can be easily modified to cater to vegans without compromising on flavor. The Tiny Dancer Bowl, featuring rice, beans, pesto, guacamole, sour cream, walnut meat, and salsa with chips on the side comes highly recommended.
We traveled an hour, and it was WORTH IT. The food was sooooooo YUMMY!!!! and the people there are so humble and welcoming. Food taste just like yiey’s( Grandmas) HOME cooked meals. Go support this establishment. Huge thanks to the owners. We will be back. I ordered 8 dishes it came out to $140, WOW CAN’T beat the price. So affordable. Make sure to tip big for this small business they deserve it.

Usually we always enjoyed the food here. But this Togo order lol 🤣 stir fry noodles without ANY MEAT?!!!!! We pay for almost $13 for meatless stir fry noodles and definitely one egg used cus barely any 😂 but flakes. So for sure one egg lol. Gosh and it's too far of a drive to even go back.

Amazing beef hot and sour soup Somlaw Ma-Ju Kreung Sach Ko- beef tripe, lemon grass, vegetable, garlic, kaffir lime leaves, tamarind, complex seasoning, just the right sourness and texture! Egg rolls was just okay. Spring roll ran out :( Would like to try the beef lamb, eggplant Thai style, beef satay sticks and papaya salad next time. Close at 2:30 am which was a huge relief since we drove to Hyatt Regency Long Beach which was 7 minutes away.

One of the privileges of living in California is having easy access to authentic dishes from many different cultures. Even better, Los Angeles and Orange County have concentrated “food towns” that make exploring international cuisines an adventure—Koreatown, Japantown, Chinatown, Thai Town, Little Saigon (Vietnamese Town), Little Ethiopia, Filipinotown, and of course, Cambodia Town in Long Beach. Trying different restaurants in each area and comparing them has become one of my favorite food journeys. This time, I stopped by Koh Ruessei in Cambodia Town. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. What didn’t work for me: Service: I was given a plastic water bottle instead of water in a glass, which felt odd for a dine-in experience. Service was inattentive—at one point, staff silently removed condiments from my table to give to another. When my soup arrived, I realized I didn’t even have a spoon. Food experience: I ordered the sour shrimp soup. The shrimp were unpeeled, and there was no clear place to discard the shells. Flavor-wise, it leaned much more salty than sour. The broth tasted like it was made from powder rather than prepared fresh, leaving it one-dimensional and unbalanced. Value: For the price, the portion was small, and I didn’t feel the quality justified the cost. Overall impression: I can’t speak to the dish’s authenticity, since I’m not deeply familiar with Cambodian cooking. However, compared to other Cambodian restaurants in the same neighborhood, this meal felt less fresh and less flavorful. Cambodia Town has plenty of fantastic spots serving hearty, well-prepared dishes that feel homemade—unfortunately, Koh Ruessei just didn’t live up to that standard for me. Their nombanh chouk samlor khmer is average but it has a better more balance flavor so it's better than the shrimp sour soup. If you’re in Cambodia Town, I’d recommend exploring other restaurants in the area for a better taste of authentic, freshly made Khmer food.

I came down long beach decide to eat at koh Ruessei. Waitress no greeting took our order then brought out our food we say Thank you not even a word. Every item she bring out i say thank you she just walk away. But man when she sitting around her word nonstop to other customers. Don't get me wrong food is very delicious but need to have better customer service.

The food was delicious and the people are friendly!! I had the Phnom Penh Noodle Soup, my husband had beef Phad See-Ew, and we shared fried Egg Rolls. Love the spicy sauces to complement the food. Thanks for a lovely dinner!

🇰🇭 CAMBODIA (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - Digging deeper into the cuisine, an order of the nombanh chouk samlor Khmer ($11.95) is especially satisfying. This has the ability to be the star of most meals here and reflects the skill of the kitchen best. The dish is always easy to screw up, make too fishy or too coconut-y, but the perfect balance is achieved here at Koh Ruessei.
