Phở 87 is a no-frills, cash-only restaurant located on the edge of Chinatown in Los Angeles. It's renowned for serving some of the city's best pho, with a rich and beefy flavor that has attracted locals and visitors alike. In addition to their delicious namesake dish, they also offer a variety of khai vi and combination plates with options like rice, vermicelli, or banh hoi.
Talk about fast!!! This place serves food faster than McDonald's. Get their iced coffee with condensed milk OMG amazing!! The food is real good they play the dodger games. Ohh yea 5 stars definitely good eats 😋

I called before I went to make sure they accepted cards. Thankfully they do 🙌🏽 I got there at 7pm and they close at 8pm so I didn't want to waste time going to the bank 😅. I got the #2 which is a large combination beef. (#1 is a regular combination beef) .. as you can see I dress my soup up really spicy with all the fixings but I tasted the broth before I added everything and the broth was really delicious. It tasted really smooth and delicious, very authentic. I went by myself for the first time was a little nervous but it was actually a great experience. They have plenty of tables for pairs, if you're eating by yourself or in groups. They have a mini fish pond in the front when you first come in. I forgot to take a picture of that and they have a TV. They were playing the basketball game when I got there. I highly recommend, the staff was really nice and helpful, take your friends and your family. It was delicious

Best pho ever, and that delicious broth was amazing! The Royal pork egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls are a must have! Great atmosphere and service! Beyond impressed I will definitely return soon!

Love this spot! We are always on the hunt for some authentic and delicious Pho and I believe we have found THE spot to go to. Pho 87 was as surprising as it was delicious. Busy when we went but little to no wait. We got the oxtail pho. So tasty and fulfilling. We left with full belly. Service was 10/10 and fast. Recommend for anyone foodie
Syed M — Google review
I came here straight after work so they close at 8 and I got her at 715. The pho flavor was watered down I could taste the anise and cloves but it tasted as if some water was added to it. Still has flavor just lighter than others I’ve had, perhaps I came right before closing and they were running out of broth? Any way I’ll come back and give the pho another shot! However the shrimp fried rolls were 🔥 fire ! 5/5 for those and fresh too!
Frida — Google review
Simple Vietnamese restaurant that always delivers solid pho. The broth is clean and aromatic, and they’re generous with the meat. Service is fast, and you don’t wait long even when it’s busy. Décor is nothing fancy, but the food is the reason to come. A comforting go-to for pho lovers
Patrick M — Google review
Very tasty pho! I enjoyed my pho tai (rare beef). It was very crowded and a bit difficult to find parking, but the food was worth it!

First time trying Pho and I'm truly sold on it. The outside of the place is deceiving, because they have plenty of space and good vibes. Prices were amazing and food was full of flavor. That lemonade is a must try.

Deli

Breakfast restaurant
Brent's Deli Northridge, an iconic establishment since 1967, is renowned for its generous portions of Jewish deli classics. The triple-decker hot pastrami and corned beef sandwiches are legendary, with those who finish them earning unofficial accolades. The matzo ball soup is a local favorite, and the all-day breakfast menu adds to the appeal.
An excellent Jewish deli that can hang with the East Coast’s best!!!! Pastrami sandwich and steak fries were warm and delicious and portions were huge. While it was busy, service is extremely efficient and it’s a well oiled machine. They’re definitely used to the heavy traffic of diners. I wouldn’t hesitate to return. This place is awesome.
Vince T — Google review
August 2025: Second time visiting this place and really enjoyed my pastrami sandwich. Last time, I had the pastrami sandwich and thought it was one of the best I've had. So naturally, I had to have it again! I wasn't disappointed. Last time I had the half sandwich and the Matzo ball soup. It was delicious 😋. This time, I wanted to have a salad so I get some vegetables. Super delicious sandwich! Paired with pickles, coleslaw and a salad, I was very happy 😊. Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back again.
Ken W — Google review
If you're looking for the quintessential New York-style deli experience in Southern California, look no further than Brent's Deli in Northridge. This establishment is a legendary institution for a reason, consistently voted one of the best delicatessens in Los Angeles by publications like the LA Times and Zagat Survey. Walking in, you immediately feel the welcoming, old-school atmosphere—it's a place where every customer truly feels like family. The convenience of the location, including the ample on-site parking lot, makes visiting easy, even during busy weekend rushes. But the real reason people keep coming back for 50+ years is the food. The menu is a massive celebration of Jewish deli classics, boasting over 650 items. You simply must try the Black Pastrami Reuben. It's Brent's signature sandwich and frequently cited as one of the best in the city. Layered with perfectly peppered, hand-sliced pastrami, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing on their famous double-baked rye, it's a towering masterpiece that lives up to the hype. If you prefer corned beef or brisket, rest assured they are prepared with the same level of care and quality. Beyond the incredible sandwiches, don't miss the comforting homemade favorites. The Matzo Ball Soup is a legendary soul-soother, served with a fluffy, lightly textured matzo ball in rich, flavorful chicken broth. Other must-try items include the crispy Potato Latkes (served with sour cream and apple sauce) and their delicious baked goods, like the iconic Black & White Cookie. From the enormous portions that guarantee leftovers to the friendly, attentive service that makes you feel right at home, Brent's Deli Northridge offers an unmatched combination of quality, tradition, and culinary excellence. It's more than just a meal; it's a true taste of L.A. deli history.

The food is amazing! The matzoh ball soup is the best! Sky-high sandwiches. The entire staff is fantastic. It is always busy but there is a reason why!! Go try it for yourself.

First timers here’! Amazing sandwiches, sides and very crunchy yummy pickles! Great friendly service and fully fully loaded sandwiches - so good!
Tammi N — Google review
The 555 sandwich is hands down my favorite sandwich of all time! Nothing comes close! My son ordered the rueben pastrami and he loved it! The only downside to this place is the french fries. They totally lacked flavor. Worst fries i ever had in my life. Regardless of how bad the fries were i will never stop coming here. The sandwiches are the BOMB.COM
Mike-O V — Google review
Excellent food and a great old school interior. I had the black pastrami grilled sandwich, they really filled it with pastrami and it tasted excellent. Would definitely go again.
Dan W — Google review
Brent’s was recommended by a coworker and I was not disappointed. The pastrami on rye bread had different seasoning that I was not used to on other pastrami sandwiches . Definitely recommend getting the juice that comes with it to dip your sandwich in. Overall, very good and unique.

Cambodian restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Brunch restaurant
Phnom Penh Noodle Shack is a well-established noodle house in Long Beach, known for serving hearty portions of authentic Cambodian cuisine. The restaurant, run by the second generation of the Tan family since 1985, has gained popularity among locals and has been featured in various publications. Their specialty lies in customizable breakfast soups with different types of noodles and pork broth. The menu also includes a house special featuring multiple cuts of pork and shrimp, offering a nuanced flavor profile.
Authentic Cambodian spot that is a staple in the community. This restaurant has been around since my partner was a kid, and it is nice to hear that they have been here for so long. They offer great and affordable prices on huge portions. I particularly had the Mo special with the broth on the side. The spareribs that is in the broth is so tender that the meat falls off the both with just a poke. The noodles is soft and mixes well with the proteins. The flavor is on point and better than I had anywhere else. The staff are very friendly, and the kitchen moves really fast. We waited just a few minutes for a table and a few minutes for our food after we ordered. Looking forward to coming back when I am in Long Beach!
J H — Google review
First time trying Cambodian noodles, thanks to a local friend’s recommendation. The place has a cozy vibe — packed with Cambodian locals even during a late weekday lunch, which says a lot. We ordered the house special noodles, which come with a bowl of flavorful broth and a big bone on the side, plus the tomato noodle soup. Both were delicious. I especially loved the liver in the house special — wish I had asked for extra. Both soups were completely new flavors to me, but I enjoyed them both. Prices are very affordable, especially for how much food you get.
Jackie Z — Google review
PhnomPenh Noodle Shack 🫵🏻🫵🏻is hands down the best noodle spot I’ve had in America! If you’re a fan of bold flavors, hearty portions, and comforting soup dishes — this place is a must-visit. The bowls are huge — seriously generous portions loaded with noodles, a variety of meats, and rich, flavorful soup. Every bite is satisfying and packed with authentic Cambodian flavor. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you full, happy, and already thinking about your next visit. Beyond the food, the vibe is awesome — casual, welcoming, and full of character. There’s great background music, the energy is relaxed, and the staff are super friendly and helpful, adding to the overall experience. It’s also very cost-effective — you get incredible quality and a massive portion for a very fair price. It’s rare to find a place that offers such great value while still delivering top-tier flavor and service.
Jason X — Google review
The food was absolutely amazing!! the staff was very patient and explained all the condiments and the menu items to us as it was our first time. I would highly recommend the beef and meatball with thick rice noodles. The broth was really flavorful and all the sauces available tasted great.
Helen Z — Google review
Breakfast and lunch menu This place is small and busy but the flavors are there and the quality is great! Everyone we're in Cambodia town, we try new spots to try. I'm glad we found this before they got packed. Waiting list is outside and the lines get long but it's worth it. The khatiev broth is clean, crisp and light. The noodles are cooked perfectly.
Christi M — Google review
This is comfort food. Every time I go I order the tomato beef stew with thick noodles. I sometimes get the standard Thai tea with meals. The only downside is that the place is so popular that there might be a wait to get seated. This is my go-to restaurant when family and friends visit Long Beach.
Loren J — Google review
You have such good food. Fresh ingredients! Honestly I have been eating Thai food since the late 70s. Cambodia and Thai food are like sisters. I drive 40 minutes to eat your food. Please keep up the great restaurant food and hey please open up a restaurant in the South Bay!
Jim A — Google review
We ordered their special dry noodle, but unfortunately, it was too sweet for our taste, and the noodles were overcooked. The restaurant's location in a poor neighborhood and has no parking, made street parking a challenge.

Jamaican restaurant

Brunch restaurant
Ackee Bamboo is a relaxed establishment in downtown Leimert Park, LA, serving delectable Caribbean cuisine including jerk chicken, oxtail, and curry shrimp. It's widely regarded as one of the top Jamaican restaurants in the area. I recommend trying their jerk chicken and brown stew chicken combos for takeout; they are both essential culinary experiences worth savoring. After grabbing your meal, head over to Leimert Park Plaza nearby for a delightful picnic.
They catered a friends wedding a couple of months ago and as an L.A. native who enjoys Jamaican cusine, I'm almost embarrassed to say that I had never experienced their food before then. I was missing out but no longer. I've ordered a from them a few times since and they have never disappointed. Be ready for an abundance of food! The jerk chicken is phenomenal and my favorite sides are their plantain (I need more with my entree!), and festival bread. Love the rice and peas too. It's all flavorful and enough to last me for a couple of meals. *I got delivery so I didn't rate on service or atmosphere*
Traci B — Google review
October 24th 2024. I followed the LA try guy's adviceto this place called Akee Bamboo in Leimert Park to try out the Jamaican oxtails and curry goat with white rice steamed cabbage and jerk chicken salad. I want to start off positive by saying the atmosphere was great the restaurant was clean the service was great. However the food was not great the white rice was so mushy could have been mashed potatoes and the curry goat and the oxtails and the jerk chicken all have the same flavor to it nothing different the steamed cabbage had no seasoning to it. If you were looking for authentic Jamaican food this is not the place. I will not be returning to this place if you are looking for something to fill your belly I would go here but if you were looking for flavor and quality I would not good luck.
Ebb — Google review
The oxtail was delicious and the salad was good too. Portions were large. We split an oxtail for two. The flavors were off the charts. And a great way to end an afternoon of walking and shopping through Leimart park.

Acee Bamboo is my favorite Jamaican Restaurant in Los Angeles the food is amazing!!. The seasonings the flavor are perfect! Oxtails cooked to perfection! The rice cabbage plantains and festival bread are divine! My favorite Jamaican eatery hands down!!! Please open back up! Please!!!

Came here for some Jamaican food after the MLK parade. It's a nice little restaurant. And the food was really good. Shared a beef patty with my buddy and I had the curry chicken wrap. Service was friendly and quick. Will come back.
Adrian Y — Google review
Huge portions and the best Jamaican food I’ve ever had. It’s even better than the food I had in Jamaica. The vegan options are ridiculously delicious and the portion sizes are huge. We had the small boxes and it was enough to food us twice each. Also the hot apple and spicy melon ginger beers are a solid 11/10. Takes a bit of time to recover the food but the wait is well worth it.
Raheel — Google review
It's very good. I think a little pricey for what you get though. We have a combo Jerk chicken, curry goat and rice & peas. Coupled with, wings, 2 patties and root beer, around $70 so not sure. Worth a try for sure, the flavour alone is great.

Restaurant
KTown Pho is a lively restaurant in Koreatown, Los Angeles that offers classic Vietnamese dishes, with its standout being the delicious pho. Located on a busy commercial stretch of Western Avenue, this spot is known for its above-average pho with a deeply aromatic broth and high-quality toppings. In addition to their excellent pho, KTown Pho also excels in other areas such as banh mi, combination plates, and fresh rolls.
I ordered my food online and picked it up once it was ready. I ordered the wagyu pho and it tastes amazing. It's packed with lots of flavors and the broth is just right. I also order the chicken fried rice which is the best rice I've ever had. There was a little mistake concerning my order and the customer service was amazing. Helping me come to a solution and very caring. I'll definitely be ordering from them again. It seems to me they really care about their customers
Niomi M — Google review
Absolutely the best pho I’ve ever had!!! I ordered the house pho and it was incredibly flavorful, rich broth, tender meat, and super fresh ingredients. Everything tasted high-quality and well-prepared. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Brenda G — Google review
Pro: - More lime is free - “Comparable to OC pho” but maybe at 80% - Flavorful chili oil - Quick & friendly service Con: - Ran out of basil - Music is a wee bit loud - No eggroll combo because they ran out - More onion is $1. They don’t discount for having no basil but they charge for onions? 😞
Jenny B — Google review
This place should be rated 5 stars ya’lll!!! Like it’s a small hole in the wall but it provides fresh delicious good quality pho! I mean the broth was amazing alone. I got the oxtail (it is cooked in bone broth for 7 hours!) They also have Waygu options as well I added that to my oxtail pho! Bomb! Even the rice vermicelli noodles were high quality! A lot of pho places they break apart easily and lose their chewiness; but here they were still chewy and not too soft! They didn’t break apart like others! My hubs had the spring rolls and they were also packed with veggies and flavor! Also came with three tasting dipping sauces !!! I also ❤️ LoVE the fact that they had two types of chilli sauces! I love chili oil ! A lot of places only have sriracha.
Frida — Google review
I tried KTOWN PHO for the first time and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Wagyu House Pho and it was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and came with a generous portion of meat. I paired it with a Thai tea, which was perfectly refreshing and balanced the meal so well. Service was quick, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the ambiance made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
Justine M — Google review
I had the vegan pho, and it was delicious. Everything was as it should be. Tasty and fresh. Good flavor, huge portion. Great spot if you love pho. They have many more varieties. If you don't prefer the soup, they do have big salads with everything in.
Eva K — Google review
This was one of if not the best bowl of pho I’ve ever had in all of America I added tendon to my pho and it was some of the nicest cleanest pieces of tendon I’ve ever had in pho And the ox tail was INSANE 100% worth the price
MingYang L — Google review
It’s an interesting entryway. There’s parking in the back but I just found street parking. You first walk in before you turn left and then the pho restaurant is to your right. I came alone but the staff was super friendly! I got the filet mignon pho with a Thai iced tea. I love that they add sliced ginger on top. The Thai tea was a bit too sweet but the ice evened it out. I enjoyed coming here and I’m glad I took a long drive to try it out!

Vietnamese restaurant
Pho So 1 is a local Vietnamese chain that has been serving delicious pho soup, vermicelli, rice dishes, and tea in a casual setting for almost a decade. Customers rave about the excellent food, particularly the Fried Spring Rolls (#93), Summer Rolls (#94), and their signature Pho Noodle Soup. Many patrons have tried pho at other places but find that none compare to the comforting and delicious soup at Pho So 1.
Authentic Vietnamese restaurant with a large dining area coupled with an extensive menu. Dropped by with a large group on a Friday evening and we were seated promptly without any reservation. Food came out quick and tasted great, staff were chatty & friendly.
RC — Google review
I originally planned to go to pho consume but unfortunately by the time I arrived the kitchen was closed. So decided to go to the Boiling point but the line was too long and was too hungry to wait. So decided to try pho so 1. No line, no waiting...was seated immediately. The restaurant is clean with plenty of indoor seating. I ordered the regular pho. The staff was friendly but got my order a bit wrong. I asked for no tripe but still got tripe. I also asked for only half the amount of noodles but got the regular amount. I mentioned it to the server but he just smiled. Portions are adequate. Price is a dollar or two more than what it should be. Probably not returning. Next time I'll either arrive early at pho consume or go to pho daily that's also good and I think they're open until 1am.

It’s been 2 years since I was last here — I came back because the food was so good back then. And I’m happy to say it’s still just as great as before! 😋

Very glad I came here. I read some of the reviews, but my experience was very very good. I don’t know why this place is not rated higher. 🦆I had the duck soup large with clear noodles and it was yummy with plenty of duck. 🍤I also got a shrimp vermicelli bun to go that was just okay. ⚠️Also, you probably want to double check your togo orders; they accidentally gave me pork sausage instead of shrimp paste 🤮 so I had to throw it out. Service was very good and very attentive.

My partner and I went to Pho So two weekends ago. She is a Pho connoisseur, and she loves it, so we keep trying new places over the city. So far, we've had deliciously good, amazing Pho. However, our experience here was terrible. The waiter couldn't even listen or care to take our order right. They serve us the wrong thing. Also, when serving, they didn't check back on us. They literally pushed the plate of soup as if when you're serving it to prisoners or something. I think if I could've given them zero stars for service, I would. The food was average, but... that was my experience I’m not saying don’t go.

It has been years now....and they stay consistent. Fast Service...great Food.. chill family atmosphere. Free Parking. In Gardena there is no better Pho than Pho So 1. Give me that Pho number 1 special Large with extra noodles and extra Brisket 🤯🥰

We had lunch here one day during our trip. It is a typical casual Viet joint. We tried the Pho of course, Shrimp & Pork w/ Rice Noodle Rolls, and Egg Rolls. Food is mediocre imo. However the Natural Shake of Durian Drink was quite good. It’s not too sweet nor too overwhelming, very refreshing! We ended up getting the smoothies 3 times during our one week visit in LA!

Golden Deli in San Gabriel is a casual eatery that offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes such as soups, noodles, curries, and sandwiches. The restaurant is renowned for its immaculately balanced pho with a translucent broth that perfectly combines fatty, sour, sweet, and salty flavors. While the noodles can be slightly gummy at times, the tender and flavorful beef brisket, ribeye, and tendon make up for it.
Update: The top #1 pho place hands down. No comparison! The best of the best! Top 3 pho places of all time hands down. Pho is superb. Pork chops are superb. The owners and all the employees are superb. The #1 Pho w/ everything is a nice portion of meat and noodles for about $17. The Cha Gio egg rolls are hands down the best in town and I will dare to say in Los Angeles and LA county! I would avoid weekends bc its crazy busy on weekends.

Definitely one of the best Vietnamese restaurants around. Be ready for a wait if you are going on Saturday for lunch, the space is limited and it gets packed. It is worth the wait though, the food is delicious and authentic. The number 44 Bun Chao Tom comes with their signature egg rolls that deserve the praise. Staff are friendly and helpful and food come quickly.

My girlfriend loves this place, especially the eggrolls. She’s quite picky with pho, too, so this hits the spot for her. The pho broth is great. Doesn’t taste bland, sweet, or like it has too much msg. They also had chili oil!! I am one of those who loves chili oil in my pho, so this got me super excited. Only problem was that it wasn’t really tasty. Just simply tasted like chili and oil, no aromatics or additional flavor. The eggrolls were extremely delicious with such a crispy/crunchy texture. I’d say one of the best I’ve had at a restaurant for sure! Although, I still don’t know if I can agree on the price at $15.50. I’d assume it is due to the difficulty of preparing and the complimentary herbs/lettuce, but each to their own on that opinion. Service was extremely quick and food came out extremely fast for the two bowls of pho and eggrolls. Water was always topped off before I get a chance to notice and I drink a lot of water. Definitely a 10/10 on that, too! We will be back when we’re in the area again! Thank you :)

We've gotten a bit picky about pho since we went to Vietnam a couple of times and find many of the pho we try in the US not as flavorful as we'd like, but this was the best we've had in a long time. We both had a pho tai and split the cha gio. The fried spring rolls were delicious, fairly big, and came with all the herbs and vegetables you could want. This is definitely our new go-to for pho! The staff were friendly and the meal was very efficient. It's a busy place. We went around 5:45 on a Friday and we're seated immediately but when we came back out about 40min later, there were groups waiting outside.

No service for take out. They just want you to in and out. It’s fine as long as food is good. I came here because of the high reviews but man the meat in the pho was like rubber. I had to throw away almost all the meat. What a waste!

LOVED everything about this place. We came in at 11:30am on a Sunday and not even 10 minutes pass and we were able to order and eat. The service is fast, the quality is superb and the workers are diligent. Best pho I’ve had in the area.

Well-known among locals but still feels like a hidden treasure. Their cha gio (egg rolls) are perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. The pho is consistent and tasty. Staff moves fast, so expect quick service. Great spot for family-style meals

It was the first time I came to San Gabriel and I learned that this is a very popular Vietnamese restaurant, so I gave it a try. I arrived at noon on Saturday, and there were many customers. We had tried their fried spring rolls. The deliciousness was really amazing. I was pleasantly surprised. In addition, the beef noodle soup is very sweet, and the portion is sufficient. Although the taste is not top-notch, it is pretty good.

Joan's on Third is a bustling gourmet marketplace located in Beverly Grove, known for its upscale ambiance and delectable homemade cafe offerings. The recent expansion of the shop has brought an even wider array of baked goods to its already impressive selection. From the towering Cloud cupcakes with chocolate-dipped marshmallow icing to the meticulously layered Betty Crocker-style cakes, there's no shortage of sweet treats to indulge in.
So unique, so amazing! I came to Joan’s for lunch, after hearing great things about their new burgers. After looking through their sit down menu, we tried out their lunch selection, which was delicious. My chili dog was much larger than expected, and was an amazing blend of rich brioche bread, tender sausage, and savory chili. As for the burger, the beef was great quality! Their pickles are made in-house, as well as their house sauce, which was evident in their fresh, unique taste. However, if there is one thing you order, try the delicious onion strings. They are so crispy, perfectly battered, and sweetly onion flavored. Definitely a slept on treat. I was highly impressed by the sheer variety of items available at this location. From grab-and-go deli items, to wines, to desserts and sweets, to restaurant-style hot meals, there is something for everyone! Joan, the owner, is incredibly friendly. She talked to us about the menu, and even recommended some of her favorites. It’s truly refreshing to see a business owner so invested in their product. In fact, the entire staff was outstandingly kind, especially the kitchen crew, which deserves all the recognition! Highly recommend! 😼

Joan’s on Third has the best Chinese chicken salad! I’ve ordered their short rib sandwich too- which is also delicious. I’ve never been to one in person, but this weekend I ventured my way here. I was surprised to see they had breakfast options! Although we didn’t order it, their corned beef hash looked amazing. They also have so many goodies. It was like Disneyland inside. They had ice cream, a dessert area, snacks, candies, and food options in the cases like quiches, lasagna, meatballs… They have open seating. It was crowded on a Saturday but the service was great and the food came out quick and hot. Definitely need to check this place out if you’re in the area and want a delicious bite to eat!

Dropped in for an impromptu brunch. What a cute place! Counter style ordering, and prompt service. Amazing salads and take out and the granola and breakfast burrito were divine! Will def come back !!

Joan’s on Third is one of those timeless Los Angeles spots that feels both effortlessly chic and comfortingly familiar. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm buzz — people chatting over cappuccinos, the scent of freshly baked pastries, and a display of gourmet salads and sandwiches that look straight out of a magazine. The menu has something for everyone — from the famous short rib sandwich (rich and tender) to the truffle egg toast and perfectly crisp fries. Even their iced vanilla latte feels special here, smooth and subtly sweet. The desserts and bakery section are impossible to ignore — their cookies and cupcakes are some of the best in LA. What makes Joan’s shine, though, is the ambiance: airy, casual, and filled with natural light, yet still feels like a bit of an LA scene. It’s a perfect spot for brunch with friends, a solo coffee, or to pick up something fancy for a picnic. Overall, Joan’s on Third is that rare mix of cozy and elevated — a must-visit if you love great food with a touch of everyday glamour. And I thought delis usually is small and narrow. Here is so spacious with all types of sitting area, which makes feel more comfortable to stay here a whole afternoon. Sometimes just holding a cup of coffee and sitting by the window to watch people passing by.

I love this place! Good food. Tons of options. Clean. Tons of seating. Outdoor as well. Quick and easy. Amenities like a water stand and sinks outside of the bathroom to wash your hands, etc. very thoughtful layout. All sorts of drinks and snacks and pastries in addition to a breakfast menu and lunch options that are ready made including hot and cold items.

Shortrib sandwich was really as good as they say. The turkey club did not disappoint either. Happy to have experienced what all the hype was about. Would love to come back for so much more that was offered.

I used to love coming here. It felt like a staple in my L.A. routine. But a few things have slipped, and it feels like they haven’t evolved with what diners expect today. The food is good and tasty. It’s the kind of place you go because you know exactly what you’ll like. The ambiance still carries that laid-back, market-meets-cafe charm. They don’t offer gluten-free bread for sandwiches. That’s a big miss for people with dietary needs or preferences. It feels like a small thing, but in 2025, it matters. Portion sizes are good, but the price is high. You’re paying for the reputation and the location, not always for innovation. Service is friendly, but not always efficient. During busy times, orders seem slower, the staff is juggling too much, and things can lag. Verdict: Joan’s On Third is still worth a visit if you love the familiar flavors and the comfy, local feel. Just go in with tempered expectations. It has charm, but it’s not keeping pace with what diners expect now.

Great service. The food is freshly prepared as you can tell by the way it tastes & arrives hot. I haven't tried everything on the menu besides just a few breakfast items. Din Tai Fung is a renowned Taiwanese chain that has gained popularity for its delectable handmade soup dumplings and Chinese cuisine. Despite its unassuming appearance, the Arcadia branch attracts long queues, a testament to its exceptional offerings. The menu features tender steamed dumplings with various savory fillings such as pork, shrimp, beef, and crab, along with other Chinese delicacies like pork buns, rice dishes, noodle soups, and entrees.
Hello friends! This is the third Din Tai Fung I’ve visited—first in Oregon, then Washington, and now LA. All of them are consistently good, but I’ve noticed each location shines with certain dishes. Here in LA, the pork fried rice stands out as the best I’ve had—so tender, flavorful, and absolutely memorable! Service has been excellent at every location as well—welcoming, friendly, and attentive.

After what seems like forever, I finally got to try Din Tai Fung. I'l list what we ordered and give a review at the end! Brace yourselves: Matcha milk tea. Amaretto sour. Cucumber salad. Pork Xiao Long Bao. Chicken fried rice. Bok Choy. Garlic green beans. Noodles with spicy sauce. And lastly, the chocolate & mochi Xiao long bao w/ cream sauce. I won't lie. I went in with no expectations solely because it is so popular. I was worried it might be overhyped, but I was wrong. Everything was so delicious. The chocolate mochi was my favorite though and a must get. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and our waitress is so friendly, and so bubbly, I would love to have her again on my next visit. They blew me away & per my friends it’s consistent. So do with that information what you will, but I say it's worth the visit!

This restaurant was on our list. We tried to get in without a reservation a couple of times. The wait time was too long. I made an online reservation and the available date was 3 days after my preferred date and time. We tried it for the first time at the Glendale location. I still don't get what all the fuss is about this restaurant. We tried 4 or 5 dishes. We liked 2. That famous dim sum dumplings (we got pork and chicken) tasted too porky, and I tasted the raw dough. The beef with veggies was good. The quality of the filet mignon was good. The service was 5-star. Our waitress, Crystal, was very professional and smiley. The overall atmosphere was so-so. We had that feeling of urgency, like we had limited time to eat and go.

I think the atmosphere and the service of the place is great and may warrant a fancy get up. I must warn this place is quite expensive for what I think, is lack luster. The food it self, is above okay at best. I’ve tried a few dumpling places and they all taste too doughy. Even if that is personal preference, I think the food does lack any complexity. Referring to placing like Pick Up sticks, I think it’s night and day difference in pricing, complexity, and overall value for the food. The famous dumplings and soup dumplings are also okay, they don’t have an inherent complexity and its simplicity is too basic to say much about it. As I said similar to another similar place, I think the Costco dumplings are better and way more cost effective for the prices. The desert dumplings were good, with a nice wake milk chocolate inside. I think you should check this place out to see if it’s your cup of tea. I would also highly recommend you try the Costco dumplings or simply visit pick up sticks to reference the complexity I talk about in these reviews (Not sponsored).

I had such a great time at Din Tai Fung in The Americana, Glendale! The moment I walked in, I could tell it was one of those places that’s fancy but still comfortable. The vibe is sleek and modern without being too stuffy, and it really set the tone for a fun evening. We were seated right away thanks to our reservation, which was a huge win. The staff was super friendly and gave us some great recommendations. Everything went smoothly from the start, which was exactly what you want when you're hungry and excited. Now, the food. It was amazing. We kicked things off with the Cucumber Tower, which was super refreshing and packed with flavor. Then we had the Chicken Noodle Soup, which was the perfect comfort food—so rich and satisfying. The Pork and Chicken Dumplings were absolutely delicious, with the perfect mix of textures. And for dessert, we went for the Chocolate Dumplings, which were so good. The warm, melty chocolate inside was the perfect end to the meal. As for parking, it’s not free, so I ended up parking in the mall lot nearby. Not a huge deal, but something to keep in mind if you’re in a rush. At least you get to walk around The Americana, which is always a nice touch. Overall, I had such a positive experience. The food, the vibes, and the service were all spot on. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to, and I’d highly recommend it if you're in the area!

Restaurant
Connie and Ted's is a renowned seafood restaurant located in West Hollywood, known for its New England seafood classics and raw-bar options. The restaurant features sleek wood-accented quarters with an open kitchen, creating a welcoming atmosphere for diners. Despite the swooping front patio canopy being disassembled, customers have returned inside the iconic squiggly building that pays homage to midcentury Los Angeles coffee shops.
Connie and Ted's is simply marvelous! I love everything about this place. The food. Service. Ambiance. Design. It really makes you feel like you're in New England with a touch of the West Coast! We had reservations for Mother's Day and arrived about 15 minutes before our time but we were seated right away. We started with the halibut crudo. WOW. The fish was cut perfectly and the plate was beautifully decorated. And the quality of the fish was amazing. So soft that it literally pulled apart with the gentle tug of the fork. The fish was soft, light, and the pickles and citrus notes on top made the perfect pairing. Now for the main dishes. The fish sandwich was simple yet perfectly executed. The brioche was light and fluffy. The coleslaw was crunchy. And that fish was so perfectly fried, the batter was light yet so crunchy and stayed crunchy while eating the entire sandwich. Fries were fried to perfection, crispy, crunchy, lightly salted, and tasted just like fries should! The shrimp chilaquiles are seriously some of the best you'll have in LA. Those chips stayed crunchy the entire time we ate through this dish! And the sauce had a robust, spicy, savory kick. It was cheesy and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. And those gorgeous yolked eggs on top were the perfect kiss. Now the Lobster Croque Connie. Oh my. It might be easy to think "let's just throw some lobster into a croque monsieur" oh no no . . . we gotta make it Connie and Ted style! The toast was light but so crispy and held it's shape to soak up all the sauce. The lobster I think was just ever so slightly overcooked, like 30 seconds, but it did not ruin the dish at all. It was still soft and so sweet. Gruyere cheese for the perfect richness and that figaro sauce - basically a tomato hollandaise - was nuts. Not only did I run my croque through it with every bite, I used the french fries from the fish sandwich to dip it in the sauce too! The best part - desserts! The key lime pie was ON POINT. The crust was dense, rich, toasty, and oh so good. The key lime filling had pieces of lime - outstanding - it was smooth, tart, creamy, delicious. And that merengue - you know they toasted it to order because it was still warm when it arrived! I love that! Light, sweet, airy, amazing. And that newly made special Orange Creamsicle Ice cream? Wow. Creamy rich ice cream, decadent caramel, tart orange and kumquats, and candied walnuts. The best sundae ever. I definitely need to come back asap.
Alex X — Google review
A bit pricy. Quality level was not at the same price level. Fish sandwich was really spicy. Fries were salty. Crab roll too greasy.
Amir G — Google review
Connie and Ted’s continues to do what few places in LA manage—serve up seafood that actually tastes like it came off the boat this morning. I had the sockeye salmon, cooked to that perfect midpoint between flaky and tender, with just enough char to bring out its richness. But the surprise hit? A new vegan creamed corn that deserves more fanfare than it’s getting. Silky, savory, and a little sweet, it somehow pulls off indulgence without the dairy. Service was exactly what you’d hope for at a place with this much polish—attentive but unintrusive, with a team that clearly knows the menu inside and out. Whether you’re a regular or just stopping by for a seafood fix, Connie and Ted’s holds its own as a West Hollywood staple. Every plate that hits the table reminds you they’re not phoning it in—freshness and execution are the whole point here.
Paul M — Google review
Upscale but relaxed and casual- nice vibes. We had a great view of the open kitchen from where we sat. However, the good feelings waned along the way. It was a very busy restaurant without doubt but we were still a little unhappy when told some items were sold out as it was only 7.30 p.m. I felt the food was pretty ordinary or perhaps my expectations were high. The chowders were diluted and I highly recommend giving it a miss. The portions were rather small.

I came to experience, George’s of Galilee, Rocky Point, Lidos beach and other memories of the Rhode Island summers I remember as a kid. It did not disappoint! The chowdah and clam cakes were definitely a higher level that those RI slots but very good. The whole fried clams (with the bellies) outstanding and what I originally came for. They were exactly as I remember and more! My server Lawrence very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back!! It is NE clam heaven right here in LA ❤️

Restaurant
Ayara Thai is a cozy, contemporary Thai restaurant that prides itself on using locally grown herbs to create traditional stir-fry, curry, and noodle dishes. The family-owned establishment in Westchester has gained popularity for its authentic Thai classics like khao soi and pad woon sen. One of their standout dishes is the muay thai wings, which are marinated to perfection and served with a unique housemade BBQ sauce that elevates the flavors.
Lunch service is to-go/patio dining only. The food is worth the breezy patio-table experience though! I’ve gotten the pad see ew every time, and often the lunch kit with the “when tigers cry” beef appetizer/small plate to start. Perfect name! 😂 Pro tip: order ahead online for lunch and it’ll be ready when you arrive. Most things take about 15 minutes to come out.

I planned to visit for lunch when it turned out the inside dining area was closed and they only had takeout, with a few tables of outdoor seating on the sidewalk which was rather disappointing. The food itself was quite good and I had gotten the lunch set. The guy at the cashier recommended the spicy beef salad which was very flavorful with a good amount of beef. The Pad Thai was good but not too remarkable. Overall, the portions felt kinda small for the price.

Fast and good service. The food was alright. We ordered 2 Pad Thai, and 1 Thai fried rice, but for some reason both the pad Thai taste different. They’re not the same flavor so it’s probably 2 different chiefs who cooked. I was glad mine tasted better than my man. However, it’s not necessarily the best either.

This is hands down the best Thai spot on the westside! I ordered catering for my office and was very pleased with the set-up, presentation and care of how the food was left. Japanese restaurant
Daikokuya Little Tokyo is a popular local Japanese chain known for its casual setting and delicious ramen soups. The outpost in Little Tokyo is one of the first ramen shops in Los Angeles and has since expanded to four more locations over the years. The cozy interior resembles a lantern-lit Tokyo alleyway, providing a unique dining experience.
For over a decade, this has been my favorite ramen shop. About time I wrote a little about it. Everything is great and served quickly as ramen tradtionally should be. The noodles are properly sproingy, the broth is flavorful, and the ramen eggs are done right. I've been to too many shops that think a ramen egg is a simple hard boiled egg, so this is worth mention. The bamboo shoots do not have that icky canned taste many serve up, either. You know you're getting quality ingredients. I've in the past sampled non-ramen dishes my friends got and everything is solid. Quite frankly, I introduce all my friends to this place, foodie or not. I find an excuse to go every time I'm in the area. According to my friend who grew up a large portion of his life in Japan, he said it was very authentic and loved the vibe, especially all the decor. So if you're looking for an authentic taste of Japanese ramen without the international travel, this is probably a great option. I remember waiting for a while during busy dinner hours a few times, but you'll understand why the other shops nearby will have less of a wait once you've had a slurp of ramen from Daikokuya. P.S. Do yourself a favor and get the kotteri add-on for your broth. It's dang good and I never skip it since I tried it the first time.
Sharkeisha S — Google review
I came here for the first time due to a recommendation from a friend and it was absolutely worth it. The staff were lovely, our server kept our cups full and dishes cleared off the table. The food was unbelievably delicious. I got a katsu chicken and rice bowl, which came with a miso soup (a favorite of mine) and this coleslaw type salad that I was unsure about initially but ended up devouring. For appetizers, we ordered gyozas, takoyaki, and tofu nuggets. By the end of it, my friends and I were stuffed and satisfied. Very highly recommend this place. 10/10

Best ramen ever in our opinions and we have tried a lot of ramen all over the world! The katsu curry is ridiculously good as well. Service is attentive but they're so busy so it isn't super personal. Fairly loud if anyone in your group is hearing impaired.

No Frills Classic Ramen With Stellar Japanese Menu. Really impressed by the portions they give you, especially if you order the Combination Ramen, comes with the delicious house cabbage salad and you have a variety of options for your other dish. Chicken Karage with egg was DELICIOUS and honestly might even be the sleeper hit of the menu. Classic Daikokuya Ramen is the way to go, hearty and rich in broth and can be customized for how spicy you like it with the bottles on the table.
Peter B — Google review
Visited on a Tuesday almost right when they opened and the place was full within the hour. Cannot wait to visit again and try more menu items. The fried rice was delicious, probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Also tried the spicy vegan ramen and it was so flavorful, the only thing was it wasn’t spicy at all so not sure if the spice was just really mild or they forgot to make it spicy; it had the right color, just no chili flakes like other spicy ramen bowls we ordered.
J R — Google review
The ramen was yummy and served super quickly. The staff was friendly and offered to refill my water cup multiple times. Not the best ramen I had in my life, but good and tasty, and served quickly. Good option if you are on the go.

The worst ramen I’ve ever had in the US. Bland and flavorless. And not everything has to be smothered with teriyaki sauce. The charsui pork bowl is grilled, charred with teriyaki sauce. It should be just chopped charsui, green onions and maybe some kewpie mayonnaise. I want the taste of the charsui pork, not the sweet, sugary sauce.

Food amazing. Place is cool and always busy. But how you gonna charge for some lemon wedges??? I get extra items in my soup but lemon wedges? Weird. Besides that love this place.

Restaurant
Brasserie
Cassia is a chic restaurant offering upscale French-Asian cuisine and seafood in a relaxed setting, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu features a fusion of Southeast Asian flavors and California produce, including dishes like Indonesian beef rendang and spicy Viet-Cajun crawfish noodles. The restaurant also offers a Family Meal option with six courses for those looking to indulge.
Cassia is such a solid spot—I’ve been maybe 5 times over the past 5 years, and the food is always on point. The flavors are bold, the dishes feel creative but not over-the-top, and everything’s just consistently tasty. Last night, they surprised us with some complimentary desserts at the end of the meal, which was such a sweet touch. The only thing I’d say is that it’s a little pricey, so maybe not an every-week kind of place, but totally worth it for a nice date night or celebration. Definitely one of my go-to spots in Santa Monica when I’m looking for something reliable and delicious.”

This could've been a 5 stars but the service was a bit interesting. I'll start with the positives though. Phenomenal food!! The Chickpea Curry, the Mapo tofu and the Kaya Toast were all very delicious. Everything was bursting with flavor, was spiced correctly and just felt so homey. Honestly, everyone should eat here because the food is that good. Where things were lacking though was the service. It seemed like we were being rushed and there was so much space still available. I do have to say, it wasn't as pricy as we thought it was going to be either which was a nice plus.

If you like big, bold, spicy flavors, this is the place to visit! From the Singaporean Chili Crab to the Spicy Minced Duck Dan Dan Noodles, the dishes felt like an endless explosion of spices. And yes, the chef brings the heat. We also had the Crawfish Toast which was sweet and savory and the Kon Loh Mee which had a great, smoked char siu mixed in. Overall a great meal and probably the best I've had in LA. Definitely worth a visit if you like spices!
Alex — Google review
The food is so good. The Sunbathing Prawns are super spicy and is served cold. It is good spicy tho. The beef and half chicken are also good. It is pricey but I think it is worth visiting. We ordered for 2 and it is around $250-$300
Vivian H — Google review
So good, can’t wait to go back and experience this again plus try different dishes. Definitely make a reservation. Parking - it’s LA so you’re either doing street parking or valet. I think it was $12 to valet. Service was good, food was quick, go with friends/family so you can try more things. The prawns are a must, heads up they have a spicy kick, but the lime really helps even out the flavors. The scallop dish is something I’d order again, very light, refreshing, flavors were delicious, great balance. The naan and curry with the fresh herbs was so comforting, wish there was more naan on the plate. Kaya toast, we actually ordered 2, that’s how good it was, wish it had a smidge more of the soy sauce but something everyone should experience. Water spinach was okay.. next time I’m getting the Chinese broccoli for sure. The chicken dish was a favorite, 100% getting this any time I come here, the sauce was lick the plate worthy, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Honestly it’s 1 of 2 chicken dishes I’ve ever eaten that I would recommend to people to order. The kon loh mee would be a pass for me, it was just okay. Both desserts were good. The coconut sorbet was creamy and I liked the hint of cinnamon and we loved the crunchy coconut. The Vietnamese coffee pudding was awesome with legit coffee flavors. I saw pics on their IG of the pudding with cookies, ours didn’t come with any, but it should’ve because it would’ve been a nice texture contrast to the pudding. Overall dining experience for the $$$ = totally worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the dining atmosphere.

Yep yep yep, this is the place for my stomach and taste buds to live out their most delicious secret fantasies. We ordered the chickpea curry, the sunbathing prawns, the Dan Dan noodles, the beef rendang and the pork belly noodles. The chickpea curry was my favorite, and the Dan Dan noodles a very close second. The sunbathing prawns were unlike anything I’d ever tasted. Incredible. Truly. Everything was perfect. I foresee us coming back in the near future. Nicole provided such a wonderful experience for us and we loved the smoky old fashioned she created. Thank you so much for a truly special evening.
Lauren N — Google review
Everything was pretty good except papaya salad and the noodles. I wish papaya salad was cut in smaller and had more flavors and ingredients, smaller portions. Taste wasn’t so good. Also I wanted noodle to be more harder. It was too soft. Their curry and pita bread was amazing, spicy wontons were good, and seafood platters were great too.
Angie B — Google review
What an awesome experience any foodie would enjoy! The service was friendly and responsive. The food even better. Healthy shareable size portions of meticulously prepared Southeast Asian inspired cuisine. Don't skip the spicy wontons. Homemade and fresh that serve up just enough spice to make your lips and tongue tingle while making it hard to stop enjoying their deliciousness. The spicy crawfish also deliver on their promise of spicy but again not over powering the sense of taste. The noodles have that awesome snap and chew while not creating a jaw exercise. Our final dish was the lemongrass chicken fried rice, also a good dish, while lacking the fire power of the first two courses. Next visit I am going for the spicy lamb, which I heard is also one of their best dishes. Parking in SanMo can be a challenge when there isn't a parking deck close by, but I found 3 hour parking right in front of the restaurant. It seemed very easy to locate parking in the area near the restaurant. Reservations are pretty much a must.

Restaurant
Petit Trois is a chic spot with a Parisian flair that offers classic French dishes, along with an impressive selection of wine and cocktails. Helmed by renowned chef Ludo Lefebvre, this bistro has two locations in LA - one in an unassuming strip mall off Melrose and Highland, and the other in Sherman Oaks.
A true hidden gem. Who would think you’d find exquisite French dining in a parking lot beside a donut shop? The food is rich in flavor. Seriously. Even the butter is better. I took one bite of the trout and couldn’t believe my tastebuds. The “Pear” cocktail is fantastic. The service was also top tier. The entire staff was warm and friendly with big smiles, waves, and hellos. Our server, Tony, was spectacular. This is absolutely a must try! Trust me, you’ll be back for more.
Nikky B — Google review
Never a bad experience, I’ve loved every meal at Petit Trois. Exceptional food, great quality, amazing flavors, rich, bold, and filling! May be pricey but you get big portions. Always gotta get the big Mec. One of the best burgers in LA. The omelette is always perfect. the Croque Madame is one of the few you can find made right in LA. The steak frites are also a must!
Alex X — Google review
Having travelled around the world, I already know how French onion soup tastes, and the same goes with a burger. My wife and I went to Petit Trois expecting a “good” version of these from Chef Ludo. Instead, we were treated to a surprise, an almost magical one. The soup was divine. The burger, the Big Mec, was heaven bite after bite after bite. It’s a small yet very cozy place, just like a beautiful cafe/bistro in France, and we appreciated the superb service from start to the very finish. And how they appreciated our flying in thousands of miles to (finally) try Chef Ludo’s masterpieces. Definitely a highlight of our trip. Merci beaucoup, Petit Trois! More power!

This is my aunt’s favorite place and now I know why. The food and service were exemplary. I’m not a fan of driving to this area, but I cannot wait to come here again. The chicken liver was amazing and the duck was cooked to perfection. They’re located in the east side of Highland just north of Melrose. Small parking lot, paid valet only but if you’re lucky you can get street parking. Bar seating inside but they have patio seating as well.
J C — Google review
This was truly one of the best French dining experiences I’ve ever had. The ingredients were exceptional in quality, and the tomato salad stood out with its fresh, vibrant flavor. Every main course was impressive—especially the Duck Confit, perfectly prepared with tender texture and rich taste. Both the chocolate soufflé and chocolate mousse are must-tries. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere warm and elegant. I’ll definitely be returning.

This was my first visit to Petjt Trois and wow, it really is as good as they say. Every dish we ordered was executed by well and the service by our server Jake was excellent. Dishes which stood out to me were the endives and big mec burger. Their fries are amazing!! They have some good wine offerings and their cocktails were also delicious. It was quite packed when we were there but the ambiance remained casual and relatively quiet. The restaurant is in a bit of a weird location and is divided into 3 areas: 2 indoor dining rooms and an outdoor area. It was still too cold to sit outside when we came so we opted for indoors. Parking at their lot is valet only but there is some street parking available.
Claudia C — Google review
We had such an amazing experience at Petit Trois thanks to our server, Zhene Miller. She was absolutely phenomenal warm, fun, and genuinely attentive. She always seemed to know exactly when to bring things out, and somehow managed to guess our tastes perfectly. Her customer care wasn’t just great, it was Oscar-worthy. If there were an Academy Award for “Best Server,” she’d win it without question. 100/10!

I kept seeing this burger on Instagram so I had to check it out for myself. I got there early. The host was very sweet and seated me right away and the server Jake was a really cool dude super friendly. I decided to order the burger obviously since I kept seeing it online and it was hands-down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. It was made fresh on the spot and I devoured it within minutes. My only regret is that I should have savoured ever bite and eaten it slower but I was hungry after fasting all day anyways, this place is super cute and I’ll definitely be back to try other options. They have what clearly tastes like a Michelin star chef in my opinion and I lived in France for a year so I would know. 5 stars all the way incredible flavors and top notch quality ingredients. I will definitely be back soon.

Dim sum restaurant

Nestled at the bustling intersection of Beverly and Sweetzer, Bao Dim Sum House is a delightful haven for those seeking inventive cocktails paired with authentic Chinese small plates. This West Hollywood gem boasts chefs trained in Hong Kong, ensuring that every bite of their renowned xiao long bao and dumplings reflects traditional craftsmanship. The ambiance is loungey and low-lit, perfect for a romantic date or a lively gathering with friends before hitting the town.
First time here! I picked this place 'cause of the reviews, and I'm not bummed. The vibe's nice. It's perfect for a little get-together, and they even have a mini bar. The food's good, I got the corn ribs, and they're awesome. I wasn't starving, so it was a good choice. Hubby got the king pao, and it was good too. Service is good, but the food takes a bit, so heads up.
Priscila H — Google review
Honestly, giving this place even one star feels overly generous. My experience at Bao Dimsum was, without a doubt, one of the worst dim sum meals I've ever had. As someone who genuinely loves dim sum, I was profoundly disappointed. Every single dish we ordered lacked any semblance of freshness, and the taste ranged from bland to downright unappetizing. (If you want to add specifics here, feel free! For example: "The shrimp dumplings were rubbery," or "The xiao long bao had no soup, just a dry filling.") It's hard to say if it was the ingredients, the preparation, or both, but with every bite, my disappointment grew. The overall quality of the food was so poor that I felt like I wasted my money. I would never consider returning, nor would I recommend this establishment to anyone. If you're looking for an enjoyable dim sum experience, steer clear of Bao Dimsum.
CM — Google review
The food here is so fun and delicious. There’s something really enjoyable about ordering a bunch of different dumplings and sharing with the table. As a vegetarian, I had plenty of food options. The corn ribs are AMAZING! I’ll be singing about them for days. We will definitely be back soon for more.

Singaporean noodles 5/5 Pork& shrimp shumai 4/5 XLB 3/5 Corn ribs 5/5 Chicken feet 4/5 Black bun with salted egg yolk 10/5 Pork buns and pan fried dumplings 5/5 Overall it's a great dimsum house, I regret not trying the tea! But next time I will.

Soooo goood! My favorite was the bok choy with garlic and the scallion pancake. The calamari was also really good with a squeeze of lemon. I also tried the chrysanthemum tea and that was perfect! I got there for happy hour and prices were pretty decent. 10/10
Jlilly771 — Google review
Good place to enjoy some Chinese food. But the menu for dim sam is limited. And I don’t think the soup dumplings were house made. I like the radish and ham cake.
Ted O — Google review
I think the food here is good but I’m Irritated with how yall don’t advertise your food properly. I ordered a sesame chicken as advertised in this image on their menu. Instead of big chunks of breaded chicken, I got tiny bits of mostly breading with green onions and no chili peppers. The food was good, but this was not what I wanted and not what I ordered. Also the prices on your menu don’t match what comes on the check. If rice is extra, denote that properly as a separate item. I don’t like feeling like I’m getting tricked or lied to, whether it be the prices on the menu or the amount of meat in an entree.

Came here with a friend after we realized that the wait time for 鼎泰豐 (Din Tai Fung) was 180 minutes (yes, 3 whole hours) on a Saturday night. The experience here was JUST AS GOOD as you would have gotten at 鼎泰豐 (Din Tai Fung) but with a lot less of a wait time. All of the juicy dim sums were great, especially the pork and the Korean Barbecue one. The Honey Walnut Shrimp is also a total home run and the service was fast and attentive. 100% recommended!

Udon noodle restaurant
Marugame Monzo is a popular spot in the Little Tokyo district of Los Angeles, offering a variety of udon dishes prepared with hand-pulled noodles in an open kitchen. The restaurant provides a genuine traditional Japanese dining experience, featuring Japanese tapas, rice bowls, and signature udon dishes cooked to perfection. The interior design is simple yet inviting, and the exceptional customer service adds to its charm.
The udon here is terrific - you can taste the freshness of the noodles! Highly recommend the uni udon and the hot dragon udon, they’re top rated for a reason!
Amber T — Google review
Honestly, I don’t see the hype about this place. I got the beef bukkake udon with an added egg. It was just boring. The noodles were fresh but it didn’t taste anything mind blowing. The service was also very mid. I honestly didn’t know how to eat the cold udon and all I tasted was the daikon so I prob did it completely wrong but they didn’t seem to care. They were very curt with words until I left.
Jennifer S — Google review
The wait time around 7pm was around 15min, given that most parties did not show up or left, which worked in our advantage. The House signature dishes are fantastic. The creamy Uni udon was fantastic. The appetizers as well. All around we had a great time here!
FaFa — Google review
The udon was good and the portion was generous, and the takoyaki was delicious. We came during rush hour, so we had to sit outside, and the restroom was always full, so we couldn’t use it. The prices are a bit high for the quality expected, and the staff could be a little more attentive. Still, it’s an option to consider if you’re near Little Tokyo.
Earvin M — Google review
Very chewy and tangly noodles! Wow what a crisp draft beer. Only if it was bigger… The creamy udons are specialty dish and it’s good but if you are going with your partner, i think it’s a good mix to get one plain broth udon and one creamy one to balance the meal out. Takoyaki was very good.
Luke K — Google review
Felt a bit stingy on the portion and ikura&uni compared from the menu pictures? Noodle was delicious and service was good. Just wish to have a more fulfilling dinner.
Fiona H — Google review
Tried the cold bukkake udon and hot beef egg udon, flavors were pretty good but having tried other udon places in Japan and other cities, this one was average. Expected the udon to have more chew and bouncier texture. The price also felt high given how simple the ingredients were, service was friendly though!
Lily L — Google review
I ordered the miso carbonara udon, and overall, it was enjoyable. The sauce was very creamy. The noodles had a slightly coarse texture, but they were still good. If you enjoy bacon, you would likely appreciate this dish more than I did. Personally, I found the bacon flavor overpowering, and the aroma was quite strong. In retrospect, I think I should have chosen a different item, though the dish was still good. We (party of 2) ate on a Sunday around 6:00 pm and the wait time was brief. The restaurant was small and cute, with a noisy atmosphere. I would come back to try another dish if I’m in the area.

Carnival Restaurant is a casual Lebanese eatery located in Sherman Oaks, offering authentic Middle Eastern cuisine since 1984. The restaurant is known for its generous portions of traditional Lebanese dishes such as hummus, baba ganoush, dolma, shawarma, and grilled skewered meats. Customers can enjoy the popular Carnival combo featuring three unique meats, various sides, and pita bread. This restaurant was great! The food tasted amazing - everything we tried was really good. The staff were super friendly too. They made us feel welcome and took good care of us. I found this place through Google decided to give it a shot. Carnival Restaurant has become my family’s favorite Lebanese restaurant in a heartbeat. The staff are warm, welcoming, and kind. The service excellent, and the food is absolutely fabulous.
Brendon K — Google review
I tried Carnival recently and overall had a decent experience. I ordered the shawarma and lamb kebab combination. The shawarma was tasty and flavorful, though a bit on the greasy side. The lentil soup was also delicious and comforting. I appreciated that they bring out free warm pita bread, which is a nice touch. However, because it’s very thin, it gets hard after just a few minutes. I think one thicker, regular pita would be better than three very thin ones. As for the lamb kebab, I wasn’t as impressed. It came out pink and closer to medium-rare, which I personally didn’t enjoy. To the waiter’s credit, he offered to replace it, but I didn’t have time to wait for another one. For dessert, I tried the knafeh. It was different than others I’ve had but still light and delicious. The waiter mentioned it was the freshest one, which was nice, though it made me wonder about the rest. Overall, the food was decent and the service was friendly. Nothing to rave about, but it was a solid experience if you’re in the area.

Carnival is an authentic lebanese restaurant 😋, one of the best lebanese / Mediterranean restaurants I have eaten at. Lots of yummy dishes with large varieties. Sorry, I took some of the pictures after I dived in and tasted them. The price is at the best value. I highly recommend you visit and try Carnival, you can take a date, a friend or the whole family.

This was my first time visiting Carnival Restaurant. My father who has been going there for over 10 years brought me to eat. I LOVE IT! The restaurant was full and the people coming in and out was consistent. We were there during a weekday afternoon and the place was more than half filled up. I can understand why. Avivi and Cheyenne were our servers. What wonderful employees that Carnival has. Great management here. We stated with the combination appetizer. It come with Humos, baba ghanoug and tabouli salad topped with falafel balls. Pita come with it. The portions are very large and delicious. We shared the chicken kabab that came with rice. The quantity of food is surprising and I had to take more than ¼ of the food home. When we left, I was taking pictures of the business front. A guy bringing supplies came up to me to ask me what I was doing. It was Hakim who is one of the owners. I can see why the restaurant is so successful. He brought some of the cooks and crew to introduce me to them. He told he that they have been with him from the time they were teenagers. They were welcoming and smiling. I can see why the restaurant has been there for so long. Carnival is a very special restaurant. Gems like this are a true please to discover. You will love it.

First time here and certainly not the last! We loved it in here, this place is spotless clean, cordial staff and amazing food. My husband ordered the lamb and beef kabab and I ordered the small appetizer with babaganoush, hommus and tabouleh, Everything was fresh, very well seasoned and delicious. Portions were great and we are taking home boxes. If you are more frugal, considered sharing the plate. You will not regret giving this place a try.

If you’re someone who hates lamb but still decides to come here, I truly salute your bravery. Every single dish somehow tastes like lamb — even the beef smells like it, and I could swear the chicken is trying to, too. And I actually like lamb, but this place managed to make even me question my life choices. Maybe they’re secretly raising a flock in the kitchen? 😂 On the bright side, the appetizers, mezes, and salads are actually really good!

The large industrial space at art gallery hotspot Bergamot Station provides an ideal setting for enjoying market-driven New American cuisine with Jewish and Eastern European influences.
Fantastic meal and service to match. All dishes were great but the standout was the steak frites and the rose petal pie. The meat was perfectly seasoned and so tender, the fries were crispy, and the pie was so flavorful and not too sweet! Can’t wait to go back.

This restaurant's vibe and service was great. Our server was quirky, and I like that. It was our first time here, so we tried a number of dishes. I think for me, the Deanie's Cornbread, Italian sausage ravioli, and glazed meatloaf were the best. You'll see in many photos, that cornbread and the butter presentation make a really great first impression to start off your evening. Adorable. I wasn't as big a fan of the stuffed kielbasa, but that's my preference because I'm not a huge fan of chorizo, and I was tasting that note. The sauce the bass came with was great, but the bass was just a smidge salty. Overall, great experience, will return again. :)

This is Jamie Fox’s restaurant that is a Jen. Unfortunately it is closing at the end of 2025. Rush to try it before it closes. Everything is worth it. It is creative while based on tradition and the execution is perfect. The location might have to do with its demise, however it is a shame as the building and interior are brilliant. Parking is a bit of a challenge in the street if you do not use valet. Let’s hope that the closure does not turn Chef Fox from opening something else soon.

My experience at Birdie G’s was a bit of a toss up with some lows and some standouts. The fish dip was a miss for me, unfortunately, but it’s mostly my fault because it tasted exactly how it was described by my server (deli-flavor, heavy on the cream cheese). It also didn’t have enough chips to go with it. It was my first time having koji-marinated meat at a restaurant, so I was extremely excited to order it. But at the end of the day, it tasted a bit too soft (almost like it was braised for a really long time). The fries it was served with were a bit soggy and mushy. However, the bone marrow risotto was so good that it made up for the rest; I loved that dish! The service was also fantastic, you can tell this restaurant is really passionate about what they’re doing.

This is a super fun and stylish restaurant with a great unique menu. The server we had was knowledgeable and passionate, able to make good recommendations. The food is a tasty fusion of American Southern & Jewish cuisine. I liked the cornbread, mussels, and kugel. The lamb was good, but the mustard sauce was too strong, and some pieces of meat were smothered completely by it. The food presentation is a little kitschy and not too striking. Mushrooms and dessert were just OK. Overall, I had a good meal here, although I feel it doesn’t fully justify the price they charge. Overall

Chef Erwin Tjahyadi, with his background in fine dining and Southeast Asian influences, has curated a diverse menu featuring shareable appetizers, complete rice plate lunches, and noodle soups made with the restaurant's signature 36-hour simmered bone broths.
Came here for brunch/lunch with a friend. It was my first time visiting, and will definitely be back. The Eggs Benedict plate was one of the best I've ever had (maybe the best - and I would know - eggs benny is one of my fav meals👌)! My friend had the fried shrimp and loco moco.. both also perfection. The drinks and service were also wonderful and kind. Bone Kettle: A Flavor-Packed Gem in Pasadena From the moment we stepped into Bone Kettle, we knew we were in for something special. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance, sleek, modern, and warm with attentive staff who make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. But let’s talk about the food. The star of the show? Their legendary broth slow-simmered for 36 hours, rich, silky, and layered with flavor. Every spoonful feels like a masterclass in depth and technique. Every dish is beautifully plated and thoughtfully prepared, showcasing Southeast Asian flavors with a refined twist. The appetizers are equally impressive, and the craft cocktails hold their own alongside the bold cuisine. Prices are fair for the quality, and portions are satisfying without overwhelming. You can tell the team here takes real pride in their work. Bone Kettle isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience. Highly recommend for date nights, foodies, or anyone who wants to taste something extraordinary in the heart of Pasadena.

Good food and excellent service! The fusion of Asian flavor and traditional western flare was blended nicely. My Pistachio latte was delicious and I was hoping for latte art bc that’s the norm now. lol Street or structure parking Bill incl a 20% service fee which is not a tip.

Food wasn’t bad, I came in for LA Dine in. I got the beet salad that was pretty good and the chicken wings. Then we got the brisket broth that was good I only like the broth, the noodles were strange like it was from a package. I didn’t try the sandwich it looks greasy so I brought it home.
Yen B — Google review
They automatically add a 20% service fee (you can ask to remove it, but there’s no other way to tip—this replaces a traditional tip). The food was solid: we had the beet salad, drunken noodles, and fried rice, all worth ordering. Don’t skip the yuzu lemonade; it’s excellent.

We had a wonderful experience at Bone Kettle for our family dinner! We booked a semi-private space for 18 adults and 5 little ones (all under 3), and from start to finish the staff went above and beyond. With so many kids, it took a while to get everyone settled, but the team never rushed us—they gave us plenty of time before the food started coming out, which was a huge relief. Even as the restaurant got busier later in the evening, we always felt like our group was being taken care of. The fun music in the background even had our toddlers dancing, which made for a joyful atmosphere. The planning process was simple and efficient thanks to Thea, who helped us customize a menu perfectly suited to our group. Bone Kettle provides sample menus, but we loved how flexible they were in letting us mix and match dishes from their regular menu. Everything came out smoothly, right on time, and most importantly—it was all delicious! The small plates and appetizers were true standouts. I also really appreciated the transparency: for large parties there’s a 20% service fee, but the food prices were exactly the same as the regular menu (no hidden markups). At the end of the night I wanted to leave an additional tip for how wonderfully they handled our big group, but the servers and manager kindly declined. That gesture alone spoke volumes about their integrity and hospitality. All in all, Bone Kettle gave us an unforgettable evening—delicious food, amazing service, and a welcoming environment that made our whole family (including the kids) feel at home. Highly recommend for larger gatherings!

Daichan is a unique Japanese eatery located in Studio City, offering an extensive menu of stews, rice bowls, and sushi. The family-run cafe is known for its affordable and flavorful dishes such as spicy curry udon, Japanese-style fried chicken, cold soba, and gigantic tempura rice bowls. One of the main highlights is their original poki bowl that has been a favorite for decades. The restaurant's eclectic atmosphere is reflected in both its colorful wall decor and vibrant dishes.
Been on my list forever and did not disappoint! The decor and environment were very charming. Quick service and all of our food was delicious. Love a miso soup (nailed it), the chicken/tofu meatballs were slightly sweet and filling, the crispy tuna rice starters were huge and had the perfect crunch. All the fish we tried was perfection, melted in your mouth good. Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend for a lunch or dinner.

This is an authentic Japanese restaurant in the Studio City area. They offer a wide variety of food from sushi, sashimi, soba noodles, to curry with a lot of other things. They also have a sake flight, for you booze lovers. The restaurant is also filled with small trinkets, creating a fun eating environment. Staff are incredibly friendly and warm. Since the restaurant is petite, you may have to queue for a bit, but definitely worth it if you’re in the valley and you’re craving good Japanese food.

Good place to eat Japanese food. It’s small but service is pretty quick, food is delicious. I wish it will be more variety of rolls.

The delicious! We had the Hot Pot and Shrimp Tempura Udon, both had amazing flavors. Interior was very cozy, worn in style. Well worth the revisit! Friendly staff!

Delicious Japanese izakaya food in a super cute setting with fantastic, extraordinarily friendly service. I can't wait to come back. We ordered the agadashi tofu, tempura udon noodles, and Daichan beef teriyaki special bento box. Everything was well prepared. The tempura was perfectly crispy, the beef was tender and flavorful, the udon was clean and filling. Pricing was also super reasonable. Definitely worth a visit!

Ok I need to start by saying I wish I got a better photo but everytime I come here I get so excited to eat I don’t get a photo ahead of eating. I absolutely love this place. The food is nourishing and so good. It doesn’t feel like they ever try to be something they’re not. The staff is super friendly and the decor is so amazing I notice something new everytime.

Amazing food. Not photographed was the chicken katsu curry - everything is 10/10. There is a guaranteed wait if you get there after 6P.

This place was great and the food was excellent. Our server was also good and she played along with my brother's crazy jokes. I had a chicken Katsu and my wife had the udon and both were authentic like what I would get in Japan. I would happily go here again. Note the parking here is tight because they share a small parking lot with several businesses, and you may have a difficult time getting parking unless you use the valet which cost $4.

Deli
Wexler's Deli is a modern yet nostalgic deli that serves up classic Jewish fare with a contemporary twist. Founded by Micah Wexler, the deli offers an array of house-cured meats and fish, including their renowned thick-cut pastrami with a peppery crust. With locations in LA and Santa Monica, patrons can enjoy all-day breakfast, lunch, or simply indulge in their towering pastrami sandwich.
Great bagel place. They have all the classics. They have the Elaine which is avocado on a bagel, it’s the only vegan option. They have gluten free bagels too now. My son loves the egg plate and it comes with a bagel and my mom loves the lox.

Food was great although limited amount of sauces for the burrito and flexibility. Overall a very positive experience. I had a veggie breakfast burrito and my partner had the bacon breakfast burrito.

Oh. My. Lanta. This place was good! The level of service was incredible! We were looking at the menu outside for a few minutes, deciding whether or not to go in, and when we finally did go in, a server (who turned out to be our waiter) already had samples waiting for us! We ordered the Newbie, the Elaine (my personal favorite), and the Get In My Deli burger. All were absolutely delicious! We had a very energetic one-year-old with us and the same server closed the restaurant door for us to allow him to run around (we'd stayed till closing but still!) The attentiveness and service was something I'd expect from a high end restaurant so getting it here at a local deli was just...awesome. I only regret not getting the waiter's name to shout him out more! And they weren't weird about their bathrooms either! 10/10 Recommend!

Their meat and bread is incredible and made in house! Very kind staff, Chai helped me and my grandfather and he provided top notch service, I got the pastrami sandwich this time, but next time i will try the corned beef! Unfortunately they don't have coffee flavors!!! But i had a good coffee and came for a sandwich anyways, if I came for coffee only, I would have gone somewhere else with flavors.

Loved this spot. I live right next to Yeasty Boys’ spot in Venice but their bagels aren’t very good and frequently undercooked. Wexler’s bagels are delicious and their smoked fish is incredible. Very glad to find a solid NY-style bagel spot in LA.

PLOTZABLE BAGELS & PASTRAMI We don’t have a single spot in my hometown that makes legit pastrami and visiting this joint really hit the spot. My husband and I visited here while our girls were traipsing about with their cousin. We split a bagel with lox & cream cheese and a pastrami sandwich. Both were excellent. If jonesing for some Jewish deli goodies while in Santa Monica, this is a great option.

I recently visited Wexler's Deli, and I must say, their Newman ($23 10 oz of pastrami and corned beef) sandwich was nothing short of a gastronomic masterpiece! The generous portions of tender, juicy pastrami and corned beef were expertly layered between slices of perfectly baked rye bread. The meat was succulent and flavorful, and the mustard added a delightful tang that brought everything together in a harmonious medley of flavors. The rye bread itself was an incredible experience. It had a wonderful texture and a subtle, yet distinct taste that complemented the meat and mustard superbly. The entire sandwich was crafted with such care and precision; you could tell the chef put their heart and soul into creating this heavenly feast. The presentation was also top-notch, making it an eye-catching delight before I even took my first bite. And when I did, the taste exceeded all my expectations! If you are looking for a Katz Deli and Russ & Daughters replacement in California, look no further. I've attached a picture of this mouthwatering creation to share with fellow food enthusiasts. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Wexler's Deli and treating yourself to The Newman - you won't regret it. Edit: It was so good I came back for a second day in a row.

With Sushi they say it’s all about the rice. With good deli it may just be all about the Rye bread. The simplicity that is The OG makes it what it is and the 3 ingredients, Bread, Meat and Mustard all work in harmony to make one of the best dining experiences you’ll have. I’ve been to Wexler’s in downtown and it was great. But I think the Santa Monica location tops it.

Pho restaurant
Nong Lá Vietnamese Cafe is a family-run restaurant with two locations in Sawtelle and La Brea. They are known for their authentic Vietnamese dishes, including pho and banh mi, as well as a selection of beer and wine. The restaurant prides itself on using traditional family recipes to create flavorful dishes without the use of MSG. Their pho, cooked for hours with beef bones and herbs, is a customer favorite.
We have been here twice and have enjoyed the vegetarian pho which has always had a light yet very flavorful broth with reasonable portions of tofu and mushrooms. Almost all options for vegetarians involve the contents of the pho minus the broth packed into a sandwich/rice paper/salad so there aren’t many varied options for vegetarians in terms of flavor. However we would just come back again for the light, flavorful and comforting pho!
Johnny M — Google review
Nong Lá is a great spot for a casual family dinner. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the dishes are usually really solid. We especially love their pho fillet mignon and house special. Only thing is the soups can be a bit inconsistent — sometimes they’re rich and flavorful, other times a little more bland. Still, overall a reliable place we enjoy going back to occasionally.
Sardor A — Google review
The Baseline: For a Vietnamese cafe the Pho must be quality, the accompaniment add-in ingredients must be fresh, the meats must be well prepared, and menu must have authentic Vietnamese flavors. Food: I had a Banh Mi sandwich had a crusty bread and fresh ingredients to complement the sesame steak. The spring rolls were fresh and the peanut sauce was viscous and stuck to the roll after dipping. Service: Great service from the wait staff and they kept the water glasses full. The food was prepared efficiently and with care. Ambiance: The cafe was nicely decorated and functional. The bathrooms are clean and serviced regularly. The restaurant was clean and well taken care of and there is an outdoor patio.

Food was solid. Bahn Mi was actually pretty good, but the Pho was just okay. Service wasn’t great. Was annoyed because we asked to sit at a table but made us sit at the bar since we were a party of two, then two minutes later another party of two gets sat at the table we wanted. Typical LA prices

This pho is chef’s special, beef topping with onions. Very enjoyable and delicious Vietnamese food in LA.

Parking can be challenging on Sawtelle Street since during the nights it gets pretty packed. Not to mention the crowds outside sushi stop and Tsujita artisan noodles where it lies between Smooth service from start to finish from the entire staff. No issues at all….they were all very positive and friendly. Outside for some reason didn’t have heaters inside there’s limited seating, including the bar area. Got the veggie spring rolls, which are actually really good with the tofu and oyster mushrooms inside definitely something different compared to your common shrimp rolls. Pho bo vien with rare, filet mignon and beef balls. Were good just the sizing of it all was extremely small including the amount noodles. Pho chay with organic mushrooms and carrots was good and I felt it had way more ingredients and hearty compared to the beef pho Overall everything tasted amazing but the price per bowl felt a little bit too expensive for my taste.
Taka H — Google review
Very surprised. this place is not good anymore. First time I visited Nong La on Sawtelle Blvd was 2017 when I was in town. Came back to NYC and was always reminiscing about the wonderful Pho I had there. Fast forward 2023... I come back. Very disappointed. Fried eggrolls. Are so greasy and dripping in oil. Sent them back and they said they would remake them and even acknowledged that the eggrolls were quite greasier than usual. The waitress literally came back 2 minutes later with the same plate of eggrolls as greasy as ever. Lol I felt like we were being punked. I didn't even bother to complain because I had a feeling I would only be disappointed again. Summer rolls came out and they were HARD. They tasted as if they were made 8 hours prior and stored in the fridge. For someone who doesn't know.. they will just think vietnamese summer rolls are overrated. That's not true. Vietnamese summer rolls are supposed to be room temperature and bouncy soft in texture. Not like a hard piece of rubber. Rice with grilled pork was cold. I'm starting to think everything is made and plated in advance. Don't even get me started on the pho. Horrible pho. Cloudy broth. We came in at 7pm. Restaurant closes at 9pm. But still no excuse. Broth tasted like bottom of the barrel sediment. ZERO STARS. It's so bad, I wouldn't even eat there for free.

Taste of Tehran Restaurant is a Persian eatery located in the heart of Tehrangeles. The menu features a variety of small and large plates, including salads, wraps, tahdig, and ash reshteh. However, the main attraction is the flavorful kebabs served with rice and grilled tomato. Taste of Tehran is a small restaurant that serves delicious Persian food - kebabs, stews, salads. The service was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly. But best of all was the food - it was simple and flavorful with both meat and vegetarian options.

Exceptional food. Meat was juicy and tender and still perfect as leftovers the next day. Every single item we ordered had so much flavor and not one element was lacking. The combo plate is really good value. Ordered 2 for four people and ended up with an entire second meal for everyone the next day. Very easy to eat gluten free here.
Alexandra K — Google review
Two of us ordered one $20 entrée, one $17 entrée, and one Coke from the fridge, normally $2.99 at the highest, but she charged us $5.99 The server said we could do “half rice/half salad” for the $20 dish as a replacement, but the bill added a $4 upcharge anyway. How come you serve me less rice and replace it with a little salad and charge me still $4.00 for it? I just don't get it. It is so deceiptful... The card reader only had preset tip buttons tipping from 18% to 25%.... no “custom” or “other", options available to choose. Our total came to about $60 for two plates and a soda. This felt misleading and not what we were told. Her attitude certainly did not deserve any tip, because when I asked her why my bill is so high, she said "read your bill"... seriously? we were forced by the card reader to tip her anyways.

Sapp Coffee Shop Thai Restaurant is a no-frills spot that attracts food enthusiasts with its traditional Thai comfort dishes, particularly the beef 'boat noodle soup.' Located in a strip mall, this cozy eatery offers seriously good Thai-style eats at an affordable price. The standout menu item is the boat noodle soup, but patrons also rave about the jade noodles filled with BBQ pork, roast duck, crab meat and thick green noodles.
We'd been here years ago. Came in today. We started with Pad Thai and it was probably the best in LA! So good. Next we had the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles). These were good and the slight spice (we ordered mild) was enough to light up our mouth. That and the basil were so flavorful. My wife ordered her favorite, the Pad Soon Sen. That and the Morning Glory were very tasty. Overall, great food, friendly staff and a comfortable setting made this an enjoyable meal.
Chris S — Google review
Food was decent. Drunken noodle was pretty good. Good level of spice. Disappointed in boat noodle since it was my favorite and the dish that I ordered. The broth was flavorful but it wasn't like traditional broth. It tasted more like they used pho broth as a base or pressure cooked the broth with the meat. It was quite oily. Thai iced coffee was really good. Strong bold flavor just like how it made in Thailand. Lemongrass drink was way too sweet for me. Didn't appreciate our waitress who stopped our mid conversation asked us to pay for the bill immediately and asked us to pay tips in cash without asking how was our meal once or whether we finished with our meal which we werent. Asked for receipt never gotten one had to ask another waitress. Heard her mentioning to her worker that she didn't want to give us a receipt, like why?

We enjoyed the following dishes: Tamarind & Garlic Wings Wings were meaty and the tamarind sauce adds even more flavor! Kra Pao Fried Rice Simple yet satisfying, the basil seals the deal Boat Noodle Everything Flavorful broth and generous with the meats/animal parts Jade Noodles Dry noods are my fave, these are yummy spinach noodles with lots of toppings Mango Sticky Rice Classic and most favorite Thai dessert, mango was so sweet, and ask for crushed peanuts to sprinkle on!

A lot of authentic options. Was also surprised by the jade noodles, very unique flavor profile.

Loved the boat noodles here. It seemed to be just as good as the ones in Thailand, especially the mixed bowl. The steak piece in the mixed bowl is especially tender. Wish the crispy pork skin was refried, it seemed a little stale. The fried soft shell crab was also wonderful, one of the best ones that we've had. Lightly battered and very airy. The stir fried morning glory was also great. Service was friendly. The atmosphere was lively.

The broth is clean, with light beefy flavor, and the spices are not overpowering. Its fragrance comes from the fresh green onions and cilantro. The meat and noodles ration is perfect. The herbs condiments are generous amounts and really fresh. The Chinese donuts come hot and fresh. I like to dip mine in the hot broth. Pro tip: Go for the XL bowl if you are hungry! I was the first customer, and the broth smelled like wet dog. I had to drown the smell out with Sriracha. I usually don't leave bad reviews, but the $20 a bowl price forced me to. Never again.

As a Long Beach resident, I’ve been coming here for years. I definitely think it’s one of the most authentic tasting Pho In town. Only open till 5 PM and all they serve is Pho and don’t forget the nice crunchy bread which compliments the pho very well. Prices have definitely gone up, but you still have the option of small, medium or large unlike most places which charge a flat rate of 15+ for a bowl. Service has always been great here no issues so far. Parking can be a bit scarce I usually park at Walgreen. The ambience is pretty simple and mildly loud, depending on the size of your party. You might have to wait for a table or just take whatever’s available. Overall the food and service are worth it while being affordable.

Los 5 Puntos is a family-run Mexican deli in Boyle Heights that has been serving traditional meat specialties for over fifty years. Their menu features juicy carnitas, crispy chicharron, and other classic dishes served in housemade corn tortillas. In addition to their popular tacos, they also offer cheeseburgers, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, and sopes.
We visited Los 5 Puntos from a recommendation of a friend. It was worth coming here. The tacos and sopes are delicious, not to mention the homemade tortillas you can see being made in the kitchen. Both the tacos and sopes are generous in size and the tortillas are thick and yummy. I recommend getting whatever you get with chicharron, it was so good! On another note, go early! We were there right before 10am, with a short wait. Once we left, there was already a line going out the door. But again, worth it!

I've been wanting to check this place and finally was around the area. The hand made tortillas are thick and yummy on their own. The meats I tried(carnitas & carne asada) are flavorful. I'm glad you can by the meats by the pound, the salsas in different sizes and if you go on a sat or sun they have menudo as well. Also the blood in blood out(movie) theme outside the building is pretty cool. If you're in the area you got to check it out. You don't be disappointed

Dumpling restaurant
Dan Modern Chinese in Pasadena offers a unique dining experience, serving traditional Chinese dishes like dumplings and noodles in a mid-century modern setting. The restaurant has gained attention for its pork and blue crab dumplings, which are considered the best in Pasadena. While there may be a wait for a table, the delicious food makes it worth it. Dumplings hold special significance in Chinese culture, especially during Lunar New Year as they symbolize wealth and prosperity.
I keep coming back for the veggies. The green beans and the seaweed with tofu is the best. Their knife-cut noodles with mushrooms have this fantastic smoky flavor—though the portion is a little small. Thankfully, you can swap in brown rice if you prefer. The Salt & Pepper Tofu is a standout—crispy on the outside without being overly breaded—and the Spicy Pork Dumplings are just the right level of heat. Pro tip: Parking is easier across the street if you’re cool with a short walk. Downside: They can be a little understaffed at times
Mabel C — Google review
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. The food was excellent. I ordered a little of everything to try. They don’t have their own parking but there’s a parking structure right behind and paid street parking available. They’re located in the same shopping area as Sugar Fish and Philz Coffee. It’s very clean inside and they do have a few outdoor tables. Personally I feel the dumplings are a bit pricey, but relevant to Pasadena. Their fried rice was very tasty. I’d prefer the popcorn chicken with more seasoning and without their dipping sauce. The mapo tofu didn’t over power the taste of the crab. I’d definitely order the noodles again. The crispy dumplings were pretty much perfect.

Loved our dinner at Dan Modern Chinese in Pasadena! The food was amazing, everything from the dumplings to the noodles was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Our server Eric was awesome, super kind, and made great recommendations. Anthony and the rest of the team were really helpful and made the whole experience even better. Great vibe, great service, and delicious food. We can’t wait to come back!

They are ver delicious dumplings, especially the soup ones. The noodles were good. Happened to try out their special flavored beers. I definitely recommend this place. It is a little hidden from the alley that looks like a plain parking structure.

Amazing food ! Fresh, flavorful and hot! Great service too ! Loved the 3 cup chicken, beef and broccoli, scallion pancakes and shrimp and pork dumplings ! Will definitely return !

I typically order takeout, but the restaurant is nice as well. xlb is great, three cup chicken and dan mein (any meat) noodles are also favorites. Pea shoots or snow pea leaves are amazing sides. Fried rice solid. Honestly i haven’t had a dish that wasn’t excellent, and service/staff is friendly and attentive. Can’t go wrong!

We absolutely love coming to Dan Modern Chinese! The dumplings here are consistently outstanding – we're particularly fond of the pan-fried chicken dumplings and the vegetable dumplings (which are delicious both steamed and pan-fried). One suggestion that would make our dining experience even better: it would be wonderful if Dan Modern Chinese could offer a "Dumpling Flight" option for small parties. We'd love the opportunity to sample some of the other tempting varieties on the menu, like the chili oil dumplings, crispy dumplings, and the pork and shrimp options. Having a tasting portion of several different styles would be perfect for adventurous diners who want to explore the full range of your dumpling artistry. The food quality is exceptional and the service is always excellent (our waiter Evan was great(. We hope the restaurant will consider this suggestion – it would be a fantastic way to showcase the incredible variety and skill that goes into each dumpling style. Highly recommended!

The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We had a reservation and called ahead to see if we could arrive an hour earlier, and they graciously accommodated our request on short notice, which we were very grateful for. The restaurant was clean, and the prices were relatively affordable, especially for the area. My team visited for dinner, and although we ordered a variety of dishes, everyone agreed that the food was excellent and the service was outstanding.

Tacos Baja is a popular Mexican counter serving seafood-infused dishes like fish tacos, burritos, and ceviche. Customers rave about the flavorful and authentic options such as the tacos de papa, salsa with the right amount of heat, and ample food portions. The fried fish tacos are particularly praised, along with the Baja burrito and Baja bowl. Regulars appreciate the fresh daily preparation of items like refried beans and rice.
This is the best place to get fish tacos! Plenty of fish and not just batter. The chiles that go with the tacos are deliciosos
Carmen A — Google review
I thought the portion was small for the price, especially the fish taco. Shrimp was a little better, but both I thought were way too oily, they needed to shake off some of that oil to get the crisp exterior. Flavor was really no different than other fish tacos I’ve tried. It was fine but not worth seeking out in my opinion.

Delicious shrimp and fish tacos. Flavorful and not dry. Fresh tasting and worth the stop!

Was there for Sunday lunch. Limited seating outside only. Sun was on me, it was hot. Dislike how condiments are Limited. Had he keep making line waiting to ask for xtra napkins, sauce, peppers. They are busy so takes longer to get items told to them through their small order/pick up windows. The fish tacos are usually good but this last time they were still slimy in the inside. Had to throw away one taco that just wasn't good. It's an okay spot for a quickly made taco.

The fish batter isn't overwhelming and it's fresh. Love the Wednesday fish taco special which is their busiest as day. We love going around dinner time when there is less people.

Friend picked this place to get fish tacos. Turns out they’re amazing tacos, probably the best fish tacos I’ve had. They were a little slow at getting to everyone from being a bit short-staffed that day, but this is understandable in the current situation. The rest made the wait worth it.

Pho Hue Oi is a Vietnamese noodle shop located in Redondo Beach, with a modern and industrial-chic setting. It's a casual restaurant without tablecloths or a dress code. Visitors praise the egg rolls for their savory and genuine fillings, as well as the ribeye pho and spicy beef dishes. The restaurant is conveniently located near LAX, making it an ideal stop for authentic Vietnamese food after landing at the airport.
Unforgettable Combination Pho. 🍲 the soup has super rich flavor, very appetizing!!! 🍜 noodles were great too, not too soft. The large bowl I had had more than enough noodles which is very satisfying 🥩 They are very generous with the meat and meat ball, great textures and flavors too! 🧙 The crew at Pho Hue Oi are friendly and nice, observative and quick. Can’t wait to visit again!

Pho Hue Oi is one of the best Pho spots in the South Bay. They offer an upgrade to their house made noodles and that is a must. The spring rolls with thin slices of pork are outstanding and the sandwiches are also great. The Pho Dac Biet has a combination of meat choices and a wonderful broth. They round out the menu with rice plate entrees. The whole menu here is really good and the food comes fresh and hot.. must try spot of you love Pho.

I went for the cold cut Vietnamese sandwich(Bahn Mi), and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I also tried the pho, which was decent. Overall, a solid spot to grab a meal.

To be honest, I was shocked at how good this place is given the fact that it was in Hawthorne. However I did learn that it is from the OC and it made sense. Dare I say that this is the best place, if not one of, outside of OC? The Banh mi was on point with a great, crusty bread and the grilled pork was nice. I thoroughly enjoyed the Pho, and I tasted my friends bun Bo hue and it was delicious. So surprised but excellent. This is way better than anything you find west side and I would say better than anything in SGV. I would like to go to their OG store in OC and try. This would be just daily go to if it was closer!

I typically drive to Westminister for good Pho. I am so happy to have discovered this place - it is much closer to West LA! Vietnamese aunties were dining there which is always a good sign to me (my family is from Vietnam). Fresh rice noodles. Flavorful broth. Very good!

ixlb Dimsum Eats is a family-run dim sum restaurant with locations in Hollywood and Westwood, offering a variety of freshly made menu items cooked to order. The sleek fast-casual setting features a giant cartoon xiaolongbao painted on its side. While chicken feet are not on the menu, the restaurant offers classic yum cha dishes such as shrimp har gow, custard-filled pineapple buns, and individually wrapped soup dumplings.
Finally getting around to writing a review after ordering from here 5+ times. This place is outstanding. Consistently delicious food that comes piping hot like it’s fresh out of the steamer. I moved from the SGV where the dim sum is top tier and ixlb is some of the best I’ve had. I always buy the 3oz chili oil to eat throughout the week because it’s that good.
Karen P — Google review
Service is great and the employees are kind, but the food itself isn’t that good. Images shown on the kiosk machine for food items we ordered were completely different from what we received. I think we may have gotten the wrong order. The food was stale and cold (in a microwaved way) and the lunch box tasted oilier and drier rather than flavorful. Egg custard buns were a let down and didn’t taste very good. Prices are cheap for California, but food was definitely not as good as reviews are saying. If you want something cheap and filling this spot is fine

This is my quick go to neighborhood spot. I wish they had salads and soups, though. I got the bento box for the first time and it was pretty filling. I have enough for the next day! We also ordered fried shrimp balls with corn and shrimp with scallion dumplings. Yum 🤤
Nicole A — Google review
Food was SO good! I had been looking for a place with Xiao long bao, the dumplings with the soup INSIDE the bao, and these were perfect! I ordered a cold garlic noodle salad that ended up coming out hot and asked the man about it to make sure I didn't get the wrong thing and he brought me another cold one after I already started eating the warm one that was actually still really good warm. So that was nice to eat later that night in my hotel room. The last thing I got was the fried shrimp wonton w/ Chili Oil and they were big, plump and tasty shrimp! All these things had real tasty sauces and toppers too! I wanted to go back, but my travel buddy had a good point about trying a bunch of different things since we were in a good food paradise!

Delicious dim sum!!! I came here a few years ago when I visited LA and fell in love with their steamed egg custard bao. Had to go again when I visited this time and it did not disappoint! I also got the xiao long bao, which was delicious. And my husband got the shrimp wonton with chili oil and pork and shrimp siu mai. He enjoyed his as well!
Haley T — Google review
Stopped by for a late snack, set up for take out and quick snack with high tops and stools, better order ahead to save the wait. Roast pork buns and steamed shrimp dumplings were moderately above average, fried chicken dumplings/ potstickers were average and curry pastries were worst I ever had and a let down. Nice and friendly service, clean looking and resonantly priced. Worth circling back to explore some more. Parking at rear was useful.
Dominik S — Google review
Surprisingly good for the price, everything in the picture was about 32 total Food was served in about 5-10 mins after ordering The shui mai was massive, juicy and packed with umami. The prawn dumplings likewise were very generously wrapped and 鮮 Unfortunately the xiaolongbaos did not appear to have much soup inside. Some of the har gao skins were broken and lumpy, perhaps we had an older batch? Egg tarts were also very good I appreciated the provided chili crisp, soy sauce and ginger sauce (for the xlb) as well as the sweet soy sauce provided on the side. It appears this place is oriented around taking away with seating to eat as a secondary purpose (only napkins were provided at the table). Overall, this is definitely an unexpected gem in the area and I would highly recommend. I love that they served the dim sum in foil which allowed the heat to stay in and keep it all fresh. The serving size and flavor definitely hit the spot.

Nong Lá Vietnamese Cafe is a charming family-owned establishment that brings the vibrant flavors of Vietnam to life in a modern and inviting atmosphere. Known for its exceptional pho, banh mi, and an array of other traditional dishes, this cafe has become a beloved spot for both noodle enthusiasts and families alike. The bustling ambiance mirrors the lively street stalls of Hanoi, where you can savor dishes like bun cha featuring perfectly caramelized pork paired with cold rice noodles, fresh herbs, and a delightful fish sauce dressing.
The vibe here was so amazing and well organized:) I found all the dishes were local and they were delicious! I definitely recommend the Chef’s Choice menu of the pho (Vietnamese noodles) we also had extra noodles, because it was really tasty! You can have two different sauces with the noodles, one was sweet the other was spicy:) We also had spring rolls, and it came with some pickles too, which was great too!

This Nong Lá location has been consistently great every time we’ve visited. The pho is always flavorful, and the broth tastes just right — rich, balanced, and comforting. *Delayed post from Jan ‘25 Super impressed with this restaurant! Came here on a whim with a small group and loved the high quality service and the freshness of the ingredients. Only hiccup was that our egg rolls came out after our main entrees, but they were so good, I honestly didn’t care. Be careful though, they are HOT when they first get to the table. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and well executed. I also loved how many fresh vegetables came with our meals. Totally worth trying this place.
Isabel Y — Google review
I went to Nong La on La Brea and ordered the Bo Nuong (grilled lemongrass & sesame steak). It came out quickly, and the presentation was clean and simple. The flavors were fresh, and the steak had a nice balance of seasoning without being too salty or heavy. The service was great — my waiter was friendly, checked in without overdoing it, and the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. It’s a good place to sit down and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. There’s metered street parking right out front — I paid $3 for an hour, which was enough for a full meal without stress. That alone makes it more doable compared to other LA spots. The restaurant was clean and had a calm, comfortable feel. I’d come back for sure — might try the pho or one of the noodle salads next time. Drinks and desserts looked solid too.

Mayura Indian Restaurant is a cozy, family-run eatery located in a bustling Culver City strip mall. The restaurant specializes in dishes from Kerala, a coastal region in southern India. They offer a variety of traditional Indian dishes such as masalas, saag paneer, appam (rice-flour pancakes), avial (coconut-heavy vegetable curry soup), and ven pongal (rice bowl infused with cumin and butter).
LOVED the vibe. Family style and homely. Atmosphere took me back home. Very sweet couple running this small family business. Food is of great quality as is expected from the state of Kerala. Owners brings in spices from India. Authentic food very conveniently located. With just one meal, four different people came to ask me if everything was okay! I recommend this place for authentic style food.
Jai K — Google review
My colleagues chose this place, in part because of the high ratings. I think they earned it through: * Authentic Kerala dishes much like how it is in India, according to one colleague * Memorable strong, bold flavours * Very enjoyable Pakora, Samosas and my delightful Mango dhal curry with Shrimp * Equally impressive Dosa, Lamb Tikka Masala and Biryani * A huge menu that has something for everyone * Fast, friendly service and kitchen turnover * Generous portions for the price point * A relaxed atmosphere that lets diners focus on the food and conversations It's truly all rounded in all the factors that make a good restaurant. The place quickly filled up soon after we arrived, a testament to its popularity. I hope many diners continue to support this local gem.

This restaurant offers all the familiar favorites you’d expect from an Indian menu in the West -- but what truly sets it apart is its commitment to authentic preparation. Every dish feels like a faithful rendition of its regional roots. You’ll find the same Thalassery biriyani or mutton roast you’d taste in Kannur or Calicut, right here in Culver City. It’s remarkable that a restaurant this specialized has earned such widespread recognition, including multiple Michelin honors. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Mama Lu's Dumpling House is a popular spot for traditional Chinese fare, offering a variety of dumplings and wontons. Previously only available in Monterey Park, the restaurant has expanded to Chinatown in LA. Known for their piping hot soup dumplings, Mama Lu's also offers new menu additions. The seating area is small, so larger parties may experience longer wait times.
It is a gem for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Chinese food. The dumplings here are amazing – especially the soup dumplings, which have a deliciously rich broth and perfectly tender wrapper. The pork and chive dumplings are a must-try too! Beyond dumplings, the scrambled egg with shrimp is actually so good and always hit the spot. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. The restaurant can get pretty busy, especially on weekends, but the service is quick and efficient. The staff are friendly and do a great job even when it’s packed. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Chinatown and craving some delicious, authentic dumplings!

I don't know authentic Chinese food, but I'm pretty sure this is it. I came with a group so I was able to sample many different dishes. Every dish was family size. Major bang for your buck! The Singapore noodles had a strong curry flavor and a hint of ginger. The noodles were slightly overdone. The coconut buns were next level good. They were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing! The sweet drizzle was out of this world. We ordered 2 plates! The free hot tea was flavorless. The sweet and sour chicken was perfect! Just the right amount of sauce and deep fried to perfection. Delicious! The juicy pork dumplings were horrible. (Could be personal taste) They smelled like wet socks and tasted exactly how they smelled. The atmosphere is not great with an old worn out carpet and tight seating in a less than stellar looking neighborhood. The service was spot on. Great host and excellent fast service made this spot a good touch for many as there are a ton of Asian restaurants in the area, but Mama Lu's was clearly the busiest. Enjoy!

Absolutely enormous servings of Cantonese and Chinese food. The Yang Chow fried rice and egg tofu dishes are awesome. The eggplant needed some salt, but it was otherwise pretty good. The fried fish was delicious. The menu is so huge and the servings so large for what you pay for that there's no reason not to try something. The food also tastes great reheated as leftovers!

There was no wait time for a party of 2 and the food came out relatively fast and it was delicious. The Spicy Wontons with Pork and Shrimp were good and had a nice kick 🌶. Also ordered the Pork and Crab Dumplings and the name was correct they were really juicy and packed with flavor. Pan fried Dumplings were also nice and crispy. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was my personal favorite. Overall had a great experience with the food and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Today, I ordered clams with black bean sauces to go. The wait was 45 minutes even though I ordered before I go there. then, to my surprise—when I got home, open my box of clams—missing at least 10 to 12 clams out of 24 or 25 clams. This businesses have been suited before for Tax issues but now they are shady in stealing my foods. I would not recommend this place for anyone living in San Gabriel valley.

Hanbat Shul Lung Tang is a Korean restaurant known for its traditional oxtail soup, which is simmered to perfection. The rich and flavorful ox bone broth is the star of the menu, accompanied by tender pieces of beef and traditional add-ins such as tripe, brisket, tongue, green onion tops, and salt. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff contribute to a truly authentic and satisfying Korean dining experience at this delightful restaurant.
I thought it was delicious. I’d make it a staple if I lived close by. I like how simple the menu is and how quickly it comes out. I got the brisket and I thought the proportions of everything were perfect for me (150-160lbs). Huge tub of green onions available. Plenty of salt, pepper, and kimchi also. (I don’t like the radish). The interior is basic hole-in-the-wall vibe but it’s an aesthetic you’d commonly see in Korea so it feels authentic in a way. Parking was very easy with a lot right next to the restaurant. Service was great.

Incredible. I wouldn't change a thing. Everything was perfection. Bulgogi and in house kimchi was delicious. I'm already craving it again. Portion size was perfect. 25 dollars with tip, a but pricey but so good. Treat yourself when you can. It's like a warm hug to your soul. And the vibes inside are so nice. Healing experience. So simple and so effective.

What a lovely location. Got the beef brisket Sul Lung Tang. The broth is very rich in flavour - Not too much additional seasoning needed. Love adding the onions! The staff are incredibly friendly as well. Price is okay, a bit expensive - with that said, everything in LA is expensive. Portion sizes are good! The Kimchi leans more on the acidic side. I was very close to giving this spot a 5 star, but there is a slight ~1-5% gaminess to the meat - Subjective but for those who can notice these finer details, it matters. Nit Picky but this place is one of the best I have had, and to really paint it onto the maps would require slightly higher quality meat suppliers. This would make a worlds difference. Highly highly recommended spot. The vibe is great!

I wouldn't change anything about this restaurant, not one thing! This restaurant has the 90s K Town look down to a T, and having been born in the area it was especially comforting! Only one thing to order, you choose the meats! Affordable and delicious local K Town cuisine! This place is perfect just the way it is

Delicious sul lung tang (ox bone soup)! It's basically the only thing on the menu. You do get to choose which meats to include. I chose the mixed meat but be warned: mixed includes tripe and spleen. If you're okay with that, it's delicious! On a random Wednesday morning at 830am, it was empty other than a few regulars. The server was super sweet and helped me craft my bowl. Highly highly recommend for some Korean comfort food!

1) FREE PARKING LOT! with a security attendant monitoring lot 2) delicious, authentic sul lung tang 3) cute, quaint restaurant with wifi 4) was a short wait when i went (saturday around 7pm) 5) food is fresh, hot, and comes with two sides of kimchi COME HERE! the food is super fresh and very authentic. perfectly salted (as you season it yourself), nourishing, and warm. there is a parking lot which is a HUGE plus in ktown. After you're done eating, you can stay parked there and walk around a little bit. Food is a bit pricey (with tip it was around $25), but it was very filling and delicious. Would definitely come back here again. overall, 5/5 stars!
Kaylin X — Google review
A little hole in the wall spot that’s been here for many years. When I live in LA I came here a lot. I find myself missing their simple yet soul healing bone broth. Sul lung tang is what they do and you only come here for this dish. I like the tongue or brisket. The two Kimchee they got are solid. Tutorial on how to stretch into a three course meal: 1. Try the soup as is, add nothing to it and appreciate the magic of simple food done right. 2. Level 2, after finishing 1/4 of the bowl, add tons of scallions and very little salt. Flavor changed instantly and this is the time I would eat all my glass noodles in the bowl but try to save 1/3 of the broth with some meat 3. Grand finale! Pour the rice Kimchee sauce into the soup, ask for extra noodle (pro tip! They are ok with giving you that for free) and this is time for you to ask for refill of Kimchee if you want more. Scoop some rice in your soup and bang! Another completely different dish! With high turnover in the hospitality industry, their team remains exactly the same…. How can they not age a bit? Maybe the secret is in the soup lol. Just go try it yourself

Saigon Dish Vietnamese Restaurant is a casual spot located in a strip mall, offering a wide range of regional Vietnamese noodle and rice dishes. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant surprises diners with its authentic pho soup and reasonable prices, attracting locals time and again. The menu features traditional staples found in most pho restaurants, along with vegan-friendly options such as vegetarian pho and customizable spring rolls.
Saigon Dish was highly recommended to me as a Vietnamese restaurant that rivals the best ones in Little Saigon. I had the opportunity to try pho here a couple of times and even sampled other items. I knew I was in for a treat when I saw a line of people waiting outside. Pros: - The menu has a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes from pho to banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes) to com tam (broken rice) to banh hoi (woven rice vermicelli). -The staff works very efficiently to seat guests ASAP. -To me, the non-pho dishes are the main attractions. The mi kho “dried egg noodles” with small bowl of soup on the side is my favorite. It’s so yummy and comes with a generous portion of shrimp, pork, and meatballs. The sauce on the side is perfectly seasoned, not too sweet or salty. -The goi cuon nem nuong (crispy pork patty rolls) are also phenomenal. A better deal than the spring rolls, too. Cons: -The wait for a table could be long on weekends and peak hours. So go on a weekday. -Parking may be hard to find on weekends or peak hours. So park at the Vietnamese market plaza next door. -The pho here could be hit or miss. It was flavorful my first time, but during my second time it was lacking in flavor. I couldn’t get in on the weekend because of the line, but I visited on a weekday evening instead. On Wednesday around 7:30 PM, the place was almost full. Despite being busy, the food was served fairly quickly. I played it safe and ordered the brisket pho, which was delicious. Everything others were having looked hearty and tasty as well, so I’m looking forward to trying something different next time. The staff weren’t very friendly but we'll be back!

It’s been awhile since I been here. I went a lot before 2020. My normal pho combination large is my go to. The pho broth is always on point. The meat quantity went down. They use to give a lot but now just a minimum requirement. The spring rolls were good as an appetizer. Vietnamese ice coffee was on point . Still a great spot. Would recommend to try it out.

Arrived at 10:30am and a lot of parking and many tables were open. We were greeted and seated immediately and everyone was welcoming. We ordered chicken pho, filet mignon pho and i cant remember the exact name of the other plate but it was spicy beef, shrimp and pork with noodles. Everything was delicious! The spicy plate was not that spicy. It was more like a sweet and spicy but it was delicious. I definitely recommend this place.
Jesenya T — Google review
The staff worked quickly, but the service felt a bit rough. I ordered the dry noodles, and while the flavor was really good, the noodles were clumped together so much that it was hard to pick them up with chopsticks. I think that’s something that needs improvement. That said, it’s still the kind of restaurant that makes me want to come back and try other dishes.

Saigon Dish is DELICIOUS! My family enjoyed some amazingly delicious lunch at S.D. There was no wait for a table, but the place was jam packed for lunch. Clearly, it's a favorite lunch joint for folks nearby. The brisket pho is truly a treat. Additionally, the spring rolls are just spectacular! I had a little bit of the bahn mi and that, too, was phenomenal. If I lived nearby, I would frequent Saigon Dish on the regular. The food, service and prices are where it's at! If you're on the hunt for some great pho, hit up Saigon Dish.

The Baseline: For a Vietnamese cafe the Pho must be quality, the accompaniment add-in ingredients must be fresh, the meats must be well prepared, and menu must have authentic Vietnamese flavors. August 27, 2025 Update: Food: Had the Brisket and filet steak Pho which was tasty and delicious. The Banh Mi was toasty and the pork was well grilled. Otherwise we had our two standards of the Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong (Egg roll / grilled pork noodle salad) #26 and the Shaken Beef and Rice #46 which were great as always. Service: Great service but it was a pick up order. I had everything at home and it was packaged well. Ambiance: The restaurant was clean and well organized with an efficient operation for call in orders. Original Review July 14, 2025 Food: You come here for the food. The Vietnamese flavors and style is prime here. Top dishes in the years I have been coming here is the Pho Filet Mignon, Shaken Beef Rice Plate, Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong (grilled pork/egg roll vermicelli salad, and the Bahn Mi Sandwhich. The Pho broth is like having a healing broth that has always made me happy when I have felt sick or it is a cold winter night. For appetizers the shrimp spring rolls are a got to must. Also the Thai Iced tea and young coconut is a great drink besides water. Service: Great service from the wait staff and they serve you like it is a trained routine. Payment is at the front register and if you pay in cash you can take 5% off the bill. Tip you wait staff! Also they don’t walk around with refilling water so you may need to ask for the refills. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean and well maintained but it is no frills. Table setup is well placed and seating is comfortable to have your meal. Bathrooms are clean and serviced but can be messy on a busy day due to patrons being sloppy.

Been coming to eat here for the last 20+ years!! Amazing food, to be specific with which items-let’s just say everything on the menu!! The environment is both magnetic and welcoming. Service is what you would consider “great customer service” and how it should be. Can’t even think of a time I walked out disappointed. Oh and the memory on that man Jon. Anyone I have ever too with me and introduced to him he not once, well maybe one time but he has always remembered their name AND what they order. I got my 15uo hooked on it as it’s been definitely a place he’s grownup in. We will always and forever continue to eat Saigon Dish till their ending days whenever that would be but that doesn’t look like it would be anytime soon!! Definitely ***** A++ and 100!! 👌🏻

JINYA Ramen Bar in Downtown LA is a popular spot known for its tonkotsu ramen, featuring rich pork-based broth with a strong dashi and dried fish flavor. The Tonkotsu Black offers a garlicky twist, while the adventurous can try the spicy Tonkotsu Spicy. For non-tonkotsu options, the spicy creamy vegan bowl is a favorite, packed with tofu, greens, and sesame.
I visited this restaurant on a Thursday around 7 PM as a party of one. There was no wait, but the place was starting to fill up, so it may have been easier for me to snag a seat by the window since I was dining alone. I tried the Flying Vegan Harvest and absolutely loved it! The broth was rich and flavorful without being overly spicy, and all the add-ons were delicious. They offer an impressive selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes, which is a big plus. The decor was charming and added to the overall experience. Highly recommend this spot, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!

I've experienced Jinya ramen when I was in Texas and I had a high expectation from my previous experience. We had two vegan ramen and those were so good!! One was spicy creamy vegan ramen and another one was red o' something ramen great flavor and delicious broth!! Keep up the good work! Cheers 🥂

The food was excellent, and the ramen instantly lifted my mood. The flavors blended beautifully, with just the right level of spice, flavorful without being overpowering. Its location within walking distance of the hotel made the experience even better, combining good eats with a pleasant walk. The wait staff were attentive and offered thoughtful recommendations, which added to the overall positive experience. I also enjoyed the welcoming ambience. Having also visited the Jinya Ramen in DC, I find myself partial to that location—perhaps because it feels newer...but both delivered consistently great flavors in the dishes I ordered.

I was looking for options near our hotel and was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I was expecting overcooked noodles in a bland broth but it was very flavorful and made well. My mom and I both enjoyed our Tan Tan Men which was nutty, creamy and a bit meaty with a hint of spice. If you’re into more toppings, be sure to add it separately because it’s topped simply with flavored ground beef, green onion and bok choy. It was still very filling without extra toppings. My sister got the Red Tonkatsu and while she liked it, she thought the spice level at 6 overpowered everything else. It wasn’t spicy to her but just a bit one dimensional. She said she would like to give the original a try instead. The egg wasn’t jammy but we’re aware some ramen places like to cook it differently. We also got an order of the takoyaki- it was good. The hot sake also comes in a large craft and sodas are in cans or bottles (Mexican Cola). The service was great even though there was only one active server, Via. They were great and attentive. Probably not ideal for large groups but there are hightop tables that can accommodate them. The atmosphere was warm woods and slightly industrial but it was lit well with warm and bright lighting. Very clean and organized. Value is stretch but I’d come eat here again if I were to stay at the same hotel.

Kang Kang Food Court is a popular Chinese fast-food spot located in Monterey Park and Alhambra, known for its diverse and affordable menu. The food court setting offers a casual dining experience with options like soup, dumplings, noodle dishes, and more. One of its standout dishes is the shengjianbao, pan-fried Shanghainese soup dumplings that have attracted attention from both locals and celebrities like Momofuku chef David Chang.
Shanghai Pan Fried buns (8ct) with sweet dipping vinegar and cold soy milk for under $20 delivered to the table makes for a great brunch for one. Pray, sip your drink, or take pictures of the posted caution signs before nibbling at the first bun. Each meatball is a juicy bite all the way through. Keep phones off the table just in case!

Please don't come here. It's fantastic and very authentic Chinese food at a low price. It was our SGV hidden gem. Now everyone is posting reviews in Social Media and they even got a top rating by the LA Times. Now it's becoming crowded and prices are going up. If I post this, I have only myself to blame. So again, please stay away.

We’ve seen this place for so long and finally decided to try it. A huge disappointment. Taste of the food was average. But there was hair in my rice. Service was below average, not very friendly. The store itself was very dirty. The stream table was beyond dirty. First and last time going to that place. Didn’t know where the trash can was and as we were heading out found it. No surprise there. Dirty beyond comprehension. Just look at the pic.

Updated 2024.04.29 From Chinatown, Los Angeles, we have taken one bus #76, about a 38 minutes ride to the restaurant across the street from the bus stop. Inside was very warm, no air conditioning, cafeteria style with trays of food to select from or order off the menu. Up to four items is USD 10.91. The food quality was only average, not worth the time taken for a long bus ride for their food. The sweet and sour and the pork belly was nice as expected. The pan-fried soup dumplings were subpar, the dough was very thick compared with the amount of filling. The house soup was very bland with almost no taste. Twenty-five cent charge for hot tea, three percent charge for using a credit card.

Very authentic indigenous Shanghainese food, which is a bit on the sweet side. It’s really a good court, w all food in trays on display. You can pick what you see. The place can be tidy up a bit. Staff were helpful. Warning: portions are very generous. I think all orders are meant for two ppl at least.

Great low key lunch spot to fulfill any bao/noodle cravings you might have. The menu is a little overwhelming if you’re not familiar with the cuisine. The pan fried Shanghai bao are a MUST - it is their best item and you get 8 decent sized bao with a vinegar-soy dipping sauce. I would also recommend the buffet item specials which are a good deal. We got the orange chicken and very tender beef on the bone that was very tender (Not sure of the exact names of everything). Their noodle soups are also very popular, although I haven’t tried them myself. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!

⭐ 4/5 – Fast, Filling, and Convenient for USC Students Northern Cafe offers a quick, satisfying meal near USC. It’s a great choice for anyone in need of a filling bite on the go, but don’t expect it to be a stand-out culinary experience. 🍜 The Food: 4/5 Decent dumplings and noodles, fresh and filling Portion sizes are large, which makes it a great value for the price Some dishes could benefit from a bit more seasoning, but overall, it’s good for a quick fix 🏡 The Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Small space, usually crowded—not ideal for relaxing, but perfect for a quick bite If you’re in a rush or need something filling, it’s a great option 🛎️ The Service: 4/5 Service is quick and efficient, but there’s little to no personal interaction You order at the counter and your food arrives fast—perfect if you're in a hurry 💰 The Verdict: A Convenient and Quick Option ✅ Large portions for a good price ✅ Quick service, great for those in a rush ✅ Good dumplings and noodles for a quick meal ❌ Not much variety or flavor depth, dishes could use more seasoning ❌ Limited seating, not a great place to relax and dine in Would I return? Yes, for a quick, no-fuss meal. It’s not a destination for a special night out, but it works for a filling stop when you're nearby.
Sohrob H — Google review

Amazing food and 2 person size portions! Very self managed with the bowls and take out containers being out for the customers to use as they please. Food comes out hot and is delivered as it completes so you should order to share. My only complaint is the lack of normal size utensils for the non-chopstick literate.
Darneé H — Google review
Northern Cafe – Bold Chinese Flavors at USC Located right near the USC campus, Northern Cafe is a beloved spot among the large Asian student population around the University Park Campus. Known for its authentic Chinese cuisine, it’s a go-to place for both quick solo meals and group dining. Unlike traditional sit-down restaurants, Northern Cafe follows a fast-casual format: customers order via self-serve kiosks, grab their own drinks, and food is brought to the table. Despite the efficient setup, the interior decor stays true to its roots, with traditional Chinese elements creating a cozy yet cultural vibe. Seating is a mix of small tables for individuals or pairs, and several spots can be pushed together to accommodate larger groups. It’s flexible and welcoming for both solo diners and friend gatherings. The menu is loaded with flavorful options: • Beef Pancake Roll: A must-try. Crispy on the outside with juicy slices of beef, cucumber, and cilantro rolled inside. You get six generous pieces, perfect for sharing. • Braised Beef Noodle Soup: A classic. Soy sauce–based broth with tender beef and chewy noodles – comforting and satisfying. • Chongqing Crispy Chicken: Intensely crunchy, deep-fried chicken tossed with dried chilies and Sichuan peppercorns. Fiery and addictive. • Boiled Beef in Chili Sauce: For spice lovers. The beef is tender, swimming in a rich, spicy broth packed with numbing heat. • Boiled Fish Fillet in Chili Sauce: Another spicy favorite with delicate, flaky fish and a punchy chili-oil base. • Sautéed Bok Choy: A solid veggie side – simple, garlicky, and fresh. • Garlic Spare Ribs: Deep-fried pork ribs topped with garlic and scallion – rich and aromatic. While flavors are authentic and bold, be aware that many dishes are quite oily or heavily spiced, which may not suit those who prefer lighter or milder cuisine. Stick to vegetable dishes or non-spicy options if you’re unsure. Service is minimal, as expected for a self-service model. Staff mainly bring food to the table and clear used dishes, but don’t expect much additional assistance. Parking is available in the back, though the entrance can be easy to miss for first-timers. Look for a small back door that leads directly into the dining area. ⸻ Verdict: Northern Cafe delivers hearty, flavorful Chinese dishes in a fast-casual setting perfect for USC students and visitors alike. It’s not fine dining, but if you crave authentic mainland Chinese flavors at reasonable prices, this place hits the spot. Just come hungry—and maybe bring a group to share the spice and the variety.

El Dorado Pollos A La Brasa is a delightful Peruvian restaurant that captures the essence of rustic charm while maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere. The ambiance is enhanced by lively Peruvian rock and pop music, creating an enjoyable dining experience reminiscent of time spent in Peru. The menu features authentic dishes that take diners on a flavorful journey through traditional Peruvian cuisine. During my visit, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who genuinely seemed to enjoy their work.
So this wasnt my first time trying Peruvian food, and my girlfriend and I were super excited that we got recommended this place as a “must try”. Once we got there we got greeted and welcomed from the staff and everyone seemed happy to be there. Food wise: the food was AMAZING. I HIGHLY recommend the food. The ceviche was crazy, the QUALITY was definitely noticeable and they stuffed it with shrimp. The pollo was really juicy and super flavorful. Just imaging your momma or poppa making this type quality. The sauces… sheesh. I was mind blown to learn that they are all literally hand made every morning by the owners. You dont find that anywhere else. The salad and dressing was so good. Super fresh. And last but not least. The Lomo Saltado. This deserves a whole review on its own. This mixed with the green sauce is top foods in Pasadena easily. Highly highly recommend it. But, for the absolute best trio, get the ceviche, pollo, and lomo all together. The drinks were really good as well and super fresh. Coming to this restaurant will definitely be that one choice you make that you will be glad you did. The owners are awesome and super caring as well. Lovely addition to Pasadena. Pa. Look at how fresh and perfect that avocado is 🤷🏽‍♂️

This is the second time I came to this place for lomo saltado. There is a small parking lot, and street parking is also available. Staff was friendly, and kind. They offer customers with free bottle water and hot coffee. The decoration was very clean and minimal. There are a few tables indoor and some tables in the patio. The food was freshly made, so we waited for a while. They offered 3 dipping sauce. I remember the yellow one is my favorite. The pink and green ones were too spicy to me. The meat was very tender, and not overcooked. The dipping sauce and the meat were the perfect combination. I also dipped the fries with the dipping sauce. This is how much I love it. Will come back for more lomo saltado.

El Dorado Pollo la Brasa is hands down next-level Peruvian cuisine! The lomo saltado here is absolutely freaking amazing; easily the best I’ve had in all of California. And trust me, I would know, I’m Peruvian myself, and this dish hits all the right notes: juicy, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food came out quickly, and the staff was super friendly; which, let’s be honest, isn’t always the case at Peruvian spots. El Dorado truly stands out for both its authentic flavor and welcoming energy. If you want real Peruvian comfort food done right, this is the spot. 🇵🇪🔥

The pollo saltado was great. I'll have to come back to try the pollo a la brasa. The chicken was very tender. The aji verde sauce had a spicy kick to it. The fries, tomatoes and onions added very well to the flavor and the rice absorbed all of it..the staff was super nice and cleaned out tables when needed. Theres free coffee and water which was such a nice amenity. The outdoor patio and indoor seating was such a nice choice to pick from. We also got the shrimp ceviche which was also excellent and a very dog friendly patio area.

I took my fiance and her family for lunch here to celebrate her birthday because we wanted Peruvian and I saw this was considered one of the best spots. The food was great. Everyone asked for the mini portion because they didn't think they'd be able to finish a whole plate. I got a normal order for everyone and it was so good, no one took left overs home. the food didn’t taste Vietnamese at all. The pho broth is a bit too peppery so would skip. The pork in the vermicelli bowl was cooked well, but the imperial roll also tasted just okay. However you do get a free drink if you leave a google review :)

Overall this restaurant is a 3 out of 5. Service was good but food is just okay. We got - Wagu beef Pho with beef balls: the broth is not flavorful (trust me when I say it is not flavorful). The good thing here is the beef ball and the Wagu beef. They do give you a good amount of meat - vermicelli noodles with pork: meat isn't tender or flavorful. The egg roll was better than the meat. The fish sauce just okay. - clay pot chicken: a bit too salty. We had to add lime juice to make it more eatable. Rice was good. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Nothing special at all about the food, and it’s not particularly cheap. The inside of the restaurant is lacking in decorations, giving it a sort of sterile feeling. Service was fast and attentive, though. Happy hour 3-6 pm, $5 draft beer and $10 draft sake.

This is a great pho option on the west side. The wagyu beef pho is tasty. The meat is tender and delicious, and the bowl has good portions of both meat and noodles. I found the broth to be a bit one dimensional compared to other pho I’ve had, but adding the holy basil, lime and jalapeño helps make the broth a lot more fragrant and complex. The imperial roll is a delicious take on traditional recipe. It’s super crispy and the meat inside has great flavor and pairs great with the sauce.

Iki Ramen is a delightful Japanese eatery that stands out in its unassuming strip mall setting, offering a vibrant atmosphere and an array of delicious dishes. Specializing in ramen, sushi rolls, and rice bowls, this restaurant has quickly become a go-to spot for noodle enthusiasts. The highlight here is the tangy yuzu shio ramen, where zesty yuzu juice perfectly balances the richness of slow-braised pork belly in a clear organic chicken broth crafted with house dashi.
Love this place. I usually do delivery but I was able to take my partner here for an omekase dinner that didn't disappoint. I only docked 1 star from atmosphere (for a total of 4) because the space is small and –when crowded– it was hard to hear the description of each course. We kind of just went with it and enjoyed what we were eating but only knew bits and pieces of what they said.

A great little gem deep in a ktown strip mall where you wouldn't expect this kind of food. It's rare to find a restaurant that serves great ramen and refined sashimi dishes, but Iki nails both. It's a small restaurant that is simple but gets the job done and service is usually pretty efficient. The food is really the star though and worth a visit.

I came here for an early dinner around 6:45 pm on a Thursday and there was a line but not too bad. The line moves at a decent pace since food comes out fast. I got the Black King that features squid ink and was super tasty. While it wait in line, you pretty much decide on your order with some customization. The inside is pretty lively and there’s a good vibe from the staff too. Overall, great ramen and would visit again!

I’ve eaten a lot of ramen in my life, and this was honestly one of the worst I’ve ever had. I came in with very high expectations after reading the reviews, but after the first bite, I was shocked by how bad it was. I ordered the lamb ramen, karaage, and gyoza. The karaage had a strange taste, and they added onions to the Japanese mayo, which made it taste off. The gyoza was okay, but there was barely any sauce. Now, the ramen… where do I even start? The broth had a very odd flavor that’s hard to describe and was extremely oily — if you let it sit for a few seconds, a layer of oil would form on top. The meat had no seasoning and was completely bland. Overall, it was not a good experience, and I highly doubt I’ll be coming back.

Spicy and Lamb ramen are both really good. Chasu is a little too chewy for me; I prefer them more charred. Lamb slices are great. Haven’t had a chance to try the black or pesto ramen yet. Karaage is very yummy. Food is fast, service is fast. Wish there were more vegetable sides on the menu.

This place nails it on all points. in the top two ramen broths I have had stateside. Had it yesterday and still thinking about it today. I could eat this for every meal. Ordered spicy and heat was perfect with extra punch of rich chili flavor. Noodles perfect, pork belly, silky, tender and sooo full of flavor. My server was the best and really navigated the decisions in a helpful way. Atmosphere brings ya to Tokyo without a flight. This place rocks.

We were in the mood for ramen and happened to find this location. Great ramen one of our favorite. Staff and food was amazing. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes fkr our order. We'd gladly come again!! We had the Squid ink and Orginal ramen.

I recently visited Ramen Nagi at Westfield Century City during the lunch hours, and as expected, there was a short line before being seated. The restaurant has a casual yet stylish atmosphere, with large glass windows that make the space bright, open, and very clean. One of the highlights of Ramen Nagi is its ordering system you fill out a paper form and customize your ramen to your liking. You can adjust the broth’s richness, oil level, garlic amount, and noodle thickness or firmness, while also choosing from toppings such as chashu pork or braised pork belly, green onions or cabbage, and seasoned eggs. I also appreciated that they offer a vegetarian-friendly option, which makes the menu accessible to more guests. For my meal, I chose the Black King, a bowl with an eye-catching black broth made from roasted garlic and squid ink. The central topping, minced pork mixed with black sesame and a special blend of spices, added both depth and aroma. Despite the dark color, the soup was surprisingly light and not too oily, with a pleasant garlic flavor that balanced everything nicely. The chashu was flavorful and tender, while the thin noodles had just the right bite and absorbed the broth well. The service was efficient and friendly, and even though the restaurant was busy, the staff kept things moving smoothly. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience, both in taste and presentation, and I would be happy to return to try their other unique ramen varieties

This ramen restaurant specializes in tonkotsu ramen, offering a customizable experience with options for toppings, noodle thickness, and firmness. Despite visiting during a busy time, service was impressively fast and efficient, with a high turnover rate that didn’t compromise quality. I ordered the Original King with the recommended selections. The ramen arrived quickly. The broth was rich, opaque, and creamy with a bold, savory depth — exactly what you’d hope for in a well-executed tonkotsu. The noodles had just the right chew and were spot-on in texture. One minor drawback is that, at this price point, I expected some of the standard toppings — like nori, bamboo shoots, and a soft-boiled egg — to be included by default, as is common at many tonkotsu-focused spots. That said, it’s still a solid choice for a quick, satisfying bowl of ramen — especially if you’re craving a hearty and flavorful fix.

p.p.pop 一条龙面馆, located in Monterey Park, is a popular Taiwanese restaurant known for its bustling atmosphere and delicious offerings. The must-try dishes here are the beef noodle soup and pan-fried dumplings. The dumplings are served upside down to showcase a delicate lace of crispiness on top, adding a delightful texture to each bite.
This place is top of my list for Taiwanese cuisine. The pan fried buns are undefeated, and we always eat them so fast I can never take a picture. Tried the fried squid for the first time as someone who was walking out recommended them to us, and they were next level. I will now never not get them, that’s how good they were. The shrimp fried rice was amazing too — nice classic flavor that paired really well with the seasonings on the squid. 12/10 meal

Authentic taiwanese cuisine. We took beef noodle soups of course, and fried chicken and squid nuggets. Everything taste very good. The lemon teas we ordered were HUGE. Service is fast and friendly. We had a table right away, no need to wait. Finding a parking place may be difficult, parking is small and sharef with the supermarket next door.

Everything we had here was fantastic! I loved the mango iced tea because it actually tastes like mangos, the chicken was nice and crunchy on the outside, juice and delicious on the inside. We also had xiao baos and their dry noodles with peanut butter sauce which were both fantastic! I would recommend against getting their devils hot sauce unless you have like an amazing spice tolerance! I thought my spice tolerance was fine because i can handle tapatio and valentina easily but this sauce left me chugging my drink and feeling the chili under my tongue for hours!

Food was so good that we completely demolished everything. I would recommend getting the beef roll with the popcorn chicken as a appetizer it's super delicious and very crispy and flavorful. For my main we got the house special beef noodles soup and we got pork and shrimp fried dumplings and washed it all down with a big passion fruit drink. 100/10 would recommend this place if your looking for some good taiwanese food 😋🤤

November 4th 2025: Came around lunch and it was packed. Got their popcorn chicken ($10) and Dan Dan noodles ($12) to go. The popcorn chicken box was stuffed with chicken and was super flavorful and crisp. Mostly got batter pieces tho. The Dan Dan noodles were super rich and creamy. Kinda oily too. Made me super swollen and bloated after eating. Very chewy and springy noodles tho. Portions are generous and prices are good. 👍

We recently stopped by this restaurant for dinner and absolutely loved it! This is a small, cozy spot, so be prepared for a wait, it's popular for a reason! The menu is great, but a word of warning: they don't hold back on the heat! We ordered a few different items: the Pork Ramen, the Beef House Noodles and the Spicy beef ramen. Justo be careful if you can't handle the spice. One of the biggest highlights is the portion size. Everything here is huge! You certainly get your money's worth and will likely leave with leftovers. If you're looking for authentic, delicious, and generously portioned noodles (with a serious kick!), this is the spot.

Sulga House of Bone Soup is a charming restaurant known for its kindness and delicious food. The place is clean, spacious, and nicely decorated with soothing music playing in the background. They offer entertainment for kids and have sufficient parking. The authentic and amazing food includes Spicy Pork and homemade banchan that comes in tiny servings but with free refills upon request. The bone soup, cold noodles, and other dishes are harmoniously balanced to let each ingredient shine through.
Love the brisket soup and how hot it stayed during the entire meal. You can tell this is a special restaurant because even each side dish was distinctive (for example, fish cakes were slightly Smokey). Seafood pancake is very crispy and surprisingly “light” with a lot of crispy veggies inside. I loved it though it is a little bland and benefits from some salt. Service is a great. Wonderful restaurant.

10/5. I was here when they had a random health inspection check, and it was nice to hear that they got an "A" last time and easily passed with another "A" when I was there. TL;DR - Clean establishment, amazing & authentic food and family owned & operated. Amazing family owned spot with amazing food. I don’t like in LA and I’m a greedy fatty, so I ordered the ox tail soup and asked if I could also get the short rib on the side because why not, I don’t know when the next time is that I’ll be here. And they obliged with an up charge no problems at all. Thank you SO much. 🤌🏼🤤❤️ The soups were divine, all the food was delicious, and the banchan reminded me of my mother’s. The kimchi was perfect, the Japchae tasted amazing. ALSO, I left my hat here by accident and I live in Nashville, TN.. they were nice enough to call me back later. She did indeed call me back later, I asked if I emailed them a UPS label, would they mind boxing it up for me and dropping it off at the market in the same plaza that also happens to be a UPS drop off location. The owner had me send the label to her daughter to print off. I also asked if I could somehow digitally send them some money and they said not to worry about it and they hope I get my hat back safely. Like how wholesome and sweet. Thank you again ladies for all of your help, can't wait to come back here again and eat all of the great food. Thank you ladies again! 아주 감사합니다!

Loved this little restaurant and the sweet lady who took care of us. Even though we were not regulars, nor did we speak Korean, we got the same banchan as everyone else 😉🙌 It wasn't very busy when we arrived around 11am but it soon got bustling. The side dishes were all delicious! The kimchi was just how I liked it, not super fresh but not sour, just the right amount of kimchii funk 😁 I was a little disappointed that they didn't have their Mul Nengmyung availble (it's a summer diah) but I was happy with my Galbi Tang with light and tasty clear broth. The brisket seolleongtang which was on special, seemed to have a thicker, richer broth than the oxtail seolleongtang. At almost a third of the price, it was the winning dish with fantasic cospa and amazing taste! Will definitely visit again the next time I'm in town 😋

Food at this restaurant was delightful. On a busy Sunday, we sampled an array of items from their renowned bone soup to their refreshingly cold noodles. Each dish spoke volumes about the owner's dedication and elegance, lighting up our table with both aesthetics and flavors. The dishes were harmoniously balanced, a welcome contrast to other restaurants that rely heavily on sauces. Here, each ingredient had room to shine and express its true flavor. The soup was a standout with its well-seasoned profile. There was no need for extra flavorings, a testament to its innate richness.  Yet, despite its depth, it was pleasingly light with every spoonful. I recommend this gem in Koreatown, it's no wonder there's already a high 5-star review from other reviewers

I came here feeling under the weather. The ladies were super sweet and attentive and kept filling my banchan, paying attention to what I liked. I blind ordered the knee cap broth not knowing what it was, and it was a bit of a surprise but I ate it anyway! Super rich in collagen at least. Come here when you need some healing. ❤️‍🩹

I was super excited to try Sulga after seeing several recommendations on social media and the reviews. Presentation was very good, along with the service. Why the 3 star rating? The meat was underwhelming and tough. I’ve had Korean soups all my life and it’s one of my favourite meals. The meat at Sulga was chewy and tough. On the kalbi soup, we had to ask for scissors to cut it since we couldn’t but off the meat. The brisket was also very thin and dry…which is surprising given it’s in the soup. Maybe the other dishes are better.
Wook K — Google review
The food here is authentic and amazing. I especially recommend the Spicy Pork. I love how all the food and banchan tastes homemade. They have tiny servings for the banchan and rice but they’ll gladly give you free refills if you ask. That’s another reason why you know the food is homemade because they really don’t want to waste any good food. The galbi tang is good, but there is a slight kick at the back… the knee cap soup is rich and yummy, and the spicy pork is really juicy. I loved the food and I liked how it came with butter lettuce wraps, but my only disappointment was that they didn’t give any refills for the wraps. I understand that the butter lettuce is more pricey, but I was hoping that for at least refills, we could’ve gotten regular lettuce or something… Anyway, the food was authentic, great, and truly homemade style. Also, parking was easy in the small lot adjacent to the restaurant so that is a major plus.

This is my first time here. Attention was very good, the person in charge is super sweet and nice. No more than 10 tables, cute place to be attended with warmth. Food was great I ordered the prime broth with 5 small side dishes and steamed rice. Everything was really fresh. Less than $30 for one person. I’ll come back soon.

Mason's Dumpling Shop is a popular spot in Highland Park, an offshoot of the well-loved Luscious Dumplings in San Gabriel Valley. The menu is concise, offering a selection of boiled and fried dumplings, bao, and rice bowls. The casual atmosphere invites you to order at the counter and enjoy house-made sides like seaweed salad and sweet-and-sour lotus root.
The Angus Stewed Beef Rice Bowl is hands‑down my favorite—I’ve had it plenty of times, and it never disappoints. The beef is fall‑apart tender, richly braised so each bite melts in your mouth and soaks into the perfectly steamed rice below. How Mr. Mason achieves that silky‑soft texture is beyond me, but I’m so grateful he does. If you’re looking for a hearty, flavor‑packed meal that keeps you coming back, this is the one. Don’t miss it!

In all fairness - this my first official dumpling place. I realize I ate this from a .99$ brand. But now to try them fresh is night and day. The food just pops up with flavor, literally - especially when they're hot, the soup just pops in your mouth. Highly enjoyable food and staff, but the price is well - pricey though. But still recommend

The dumplings are amazing. They have a very traditional taste. They also have modern dumplings takes. The soup dumpling is very juicy, Make sure not to pop them before you put them in your mouth. The shrimp and pork dumpling is delicious. The servers are very nice and there's quite a bit of room indoor seating. Parking is a little difficult but most people live around the area. The price of the food is all right.

First time here and the dumplings were great. Space is a bit limited but the great thing is that you can always choose takeout. Service could be a bit better in my opinion. Girl in the front with glasses could have been a bit more helpful but luckily the other server helped us out to make sure we got the order right. If it's your first time here or never had dumplings before this is a good spot to get yourself acquainted. The menu is straightforward, simple and easy to order. Will definitely go again.

Had the soup pork dumplings and the beef bun. Wow ! So good ! I know nothing about this cuisine but it was delicious !! I kept popping the dumplings trying to pick them up with chopsticks 😂 but they were so good still. I got a few filled ones don’t worry haha. The service was fine, just order at the front and they bring you the food. It was $26 for the dumplings, $13, beef bun $7 and bottled coke $3.75. Plus tax and then tip on top (not included in $26) highly recommend this place. Delicious !!

Amazing vegan options. The teriyaki vegan beef and rice bowl was delicious and so flavorful- and the vegan dumplings were clearly handmade and tasted amazing.

Nice little dumpling place in the middle of the least expected place. I liked the juicy pork, but vegetable dumplings were better. Pan fried dumplings were pretty decent. The boiled leak dumplings were a bit salty for me, but they were not bad. Clean, affordable, and tasty. Frankly, I was getting tired of Din Tai Fung, so this place was a great alternative, like Dan Noodles.

Their specialty vermicelli soup, particularly the beef version with tender short rib pieces, is a must-try. The sliced pork chop with rice and oyster pancake are also highly recommended. The oyster pancake features fresh and plump oysters with crown daisy, providing an authentic taste of Taiwan.

With six people in our group, we had the chance to sample quite a few items from the menu—and I have to say, most dishes were authentically close to what I had in Taipei. We ordered: • Pork fish cake soup • Ground pork noodles • Oyster vermicelli • Intestine vermicelli • Pork belly rice ball • Fried pork chop • Fried popcorn chicken • Fried oysters • Fried squid ball • Pickled cabbage and cucumber Each dish had its own charm, but what really stood out was how well they captured the flavors of Taiwanese street food. The vermicelli dishes were rich and flavorful, the rice ball was comforting and satisfying, and the fried items were crispy, well-seasoned, and not overly greasy. The pickled cabbage and cucumber added a nice refreshing contrast to the heavier items. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and brought back great food memories from Taiwan.

Food is fantastic here, parking is easy, service is good. The only issue is things sell out here, FAST. Past 6pm you better ask if they still have the menu items you want before going in. heck a lot of times they'd be out of rice of all things.

Best Taiwanese food you have ever eaten! So far, everything is delicious 🤤. I ordered their fried pork chop, and it's so juicy. I enjoy their mustard greens but they are good with pork belly rice. The rice was delicious because the fatty and lean meat was evenly portioned in every bite. I ordered the pork intestine with oyster vermicelli, but I prefer only the oyster because the intestines, to my preference, are a bit plain. The oysters are fresh, and it would be nice if the menu had fried oysters as appetizers 👍. The popcorn chicken wasn't my favorite because it had less basil and was sweet, which was different from the ones I had. But overall, it's good, and I will be coming back.

Golden Leaf has been on my list of restaurants to try for a while. The restaurant doesn’t have air conditioning, so it can be a bit stuffy, but it's manageable with the large fan running. There are no drinks available on the menu, only water. We ordered four appetizers and two main dishes for the two of us. Every dish was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the braised pork rice I ordered, which exceeded my expectations. The meat was generously spread over the rice, and every bite was flavorful. We also had the oyster vermicelli, which was very fresh. I highly recommend the kimchi among the appetizers. It was plentiful, crisp, and tasty. Since we ordered quite a bit of food, it became a bit heavy, and the kimchi was perfect to balance it out. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Hui Tou Xiang Noodles House is a casual dining spot located in San Gabriel, offering a variety of Chinese delicacies such as noodles, soup dumplings, and fried dumplings. The restaurant is best known for its signature dish, the Hui Tou dumplings, which are distinctively shaped and pan-fried to perfection, resulting in a crispy exterior and juicy filling.
Yes, they do serve in takeout containers, but they also tell you this as you're ordering, no big deal. The woman that greeted us and took our order was friendly, as was the lady that bought us the food. We ordered wonton in chili oil, pork hui tou, chicken and cilantro boiled dumplings, and xiao long bao. We both agreed the wonton in chili oil might have been some of the best we've had. Their chili oil is delicious and the wonton are not at all kind of sweet like they are elsewhere sometimes. The hui tou were juicy and nicely cooked. The chicken and cilantro dumplings were flavorful. The XLB were tasty, a little different than others we've had, in a good way. They didn't stick together and none broke, but we did miss having a bit of a bigger spoon. Nothing fancy but we didn't mind sitting there as the food was so good. It looked like most people were doing takeout as quite a few people came to pick up. We'll definitely be back to try the pan fried pork buns!

We stopped by on a Sunday for lunch and managed to snag seats for the five of us. The space is pretty small, but there's parking and a bathroom available. I got the sesame noodles and we split the pan fried buns. I really enjoyed the flavors and textures, and you can tell they make it fresh. They serve the food in plastic takeout containers, and there's bottled water available for purchase so if you're dining in, you're welcome to bring your own drink.

The food here is phenomenal. The dumplings, wontons, and pot stickers rival the famous Dinh Tai Fung (honestly, Hui Tou Xiang makes them even better) and at much more affordable prices. They do only serve the food in to-go containers, but they still allow dine-in.

This place is takeout only, it’s still worth it. I was hoping to dine in but they didn’t offer that. I can understand since the pandemic things are changing. We got it all to go and bought some drinks at Paris baguette and I usually don’t do this but we ate at the table there and cleaned up after ourselves when we were done. Now to the food, the hui tou dumplings are fantastic, one of the best dumplings I have ever had. Beef noodle soup is really good, texture of handmade noodle is nice and chewy. Woodear mushrooms are great and they give a big portion. Spicy wonton dumplings were solid too. I plan to try all the dumpling spots in sgv and Rowland heights, this place beats bafang dumplings.

Read an article from the LA times about the best dumplings in San Gabriel Valley. Come across Hui Tou Xiang, I have been going to that plaza for a long time, but never occur to me to try this place. I tried all other restaurants except this. But today, I am determined to give it a try, and WOW!!!! Their dumplings are amazing, I ordered Pork and Leek Pancakes, Pork Potstickers, Fish Potstickers, Pork Xiao Long Bao and Spicy Mixed Noodles. My wife and son absolutely loved them. My son usually doesn't eat leek, but he actually wants to try the pork leek pancake and falls in love with it. My wife and I are amazed. According to him, the no. 1 is Xiao Long Bao, no. 2 is Pork and Leek Pancakes, no. 3 Fish Potstickers and no. 4 is the Pork Potstickers.

Be prepared to wait for at least 30mins. We waited outside around 30-40 mins on a Friday afternoon. But all the food worth the wait! We ordered the pork dumplings soup, kimchi fried rice and the coconut ice with mango. The soup was so flavorful!!! I could taste the garlic and the bone. A little disappointed about coming here after hearing nothing but good things. The price point for what they offered along with having a limited menu, and a broken A/C led to a 3 star review. The boba and smoothie was decent. Fried rice and fruit tea were great, but overpriced.

As you walk up to and then into this place you don't know what you are about to get which I think is part of the appeal, you order before you can take your seat and you sit waiting wondering what will arrive and the answer is MAGIC. we had the Beef short rib rice soup, the broth had great flavours of mushroom and chilli, almost nutty and creamy from mushroom with the rice cake really taking on a spicy flavour but again not overpowering. The beef short rib feel apart and melted in your mouth, every part of this dish sang on it own merit but combined was perfect. Paired with a Peanut butter & chocolate boba which had amazing peanut butter flavour with the balls adding a different dimension. A great great meal in an unexpected place, good efficient service and probably the best menu I had in LA.

I'm not sure who the person serving was but they didn't give us any instruction on how to apply our drinks, I ordered the coffee one and their were no explanation on what goes first or where and their were over 4 different containers. I spent about $50 on 3 fancy drinks and a kimchi fried rice and immediately came home with stomach ache. I would not recommend visiting . Yes the photos are amazing but it's not worth the tummy ache and the runs.

Very delicious food. We had anticipated for quite awhile visiting LA's only Afro-Mexicano restaurant, Tamales Elena and Antojitos. They are in Bell Gardens and feature cuisine from the state of Guerrero I. Mexico, known for the influence of people of African descent. The menu is varied, with tamales of many types. Unfortunately, they were out of tamales when we visited, so we tried other tasty items. The tacos are better than most tacos I have had. I had tacos de cabeza, tacos de lengua, and tacos de barbacoa. My wife had the chilaquiles plate, which was a good breakfast plate. We had chilate to drink, which is well known I. Guerrero, where my wife's family is from. Chilate is made with chocolate, cinnamon, sugar, and more, entirely vegan (if that is important to you). The service was pro-active and friendly. They speak English and Spanish. I noted that this location had quite a bit of business, which I consider a sign that the locals know where the good stuff is made.

The decor is jarring and harsh, but the tamales are very good with many subtle flavors blending well with the masa, which is not overly heavy. The green pozole is fine, but certainly not among the best in town. A strong effort on the food here. With some tweaks, it could really be outstanding.

This is a cute little place with friendly service. Have visited twice and tried their barbacoa and fish tacos, so good! The red mole is a bit spicy but really good. For dessert we had the plantains drizzled with condensed milk, delicious!!

Going to give a shout out to this place @tamaleselenayantojitos the tamales flavor of the meat and the masa are outstanding! The tacos dorados de birria were 💣! It was my first time there, dad wanted some tamales, and some of you know he’s pickier than me 😂 he loved them. I will say they are smaller than what I’m usually accustomed but it makes up with quality good food. Will def go back and try some guisados and other dishes.

This place was fantastic! Like eating at your abuelas house. My boyfriend and I came across this place on Instagram and decided to check it out since he is from Tierra caliente (Guerrero). I got a tamal de puerco and mole costeña. The food is spicy but very savory. My favorite drink was the chilate....almost like having cold champurrado but better. Fast and friendly service, the ladies working there were so great ❤️

My only reason for not giving a 5 star rating is due to not being told correctly when asked about a food what was in it. I just had oral surgery and having stitches it is very hard to eat foods that have seeds in them. I'm in the Inland Empire but my brother works in Downey so I ordered some strawberry tamales from here. When I called to find out what the tamales had in them I was told that they had pumpkin & sesame seeds grinded up in the masa but that you couldn't feel them. Absolute lie. Although the flavor is on point. It's really not their fault I have stitches but I would have appreciated the truth about feeling the seeds even after I told the person answering the phone why. Guess when I'm better I'll have to check out their other tamales and see how they are. I do have to say though that they are pricey for the size they are. So do not expect a good size tamal. At $23 for the dozen with taxes it's kind of up there in price.

I got red mole, green posole, pork banana leaf tamale, chicken corn husk tamale. All were great. But my faves were the pescadillos and the sugar cane tamale. Can’t wait to go back.

Everything was excelente! The green pozole - chef's kiss! The place is unassuming but cute and clean and the servers are sweet. Highly recommend and will be back.

Mexican restaurant
Santa Cecilia Restaurant is a casual eatery that serves up traditional Mexican dishes and street food for both dine-in and takeout. One of the standout items on their menu is the tripe taco, which offers a perfect introduction to offal meats for those looking to expand their taco horizons. The restaurant's "Taco Grande de Tripa" features cow intestines cooked to perfection, offering a range of textures from tender to crispy.
Today when I visited this resturant, I was amazed on how good there tacos, rice and beans tasted. The customer service is great and the lady who took my order was nice and friendly. If you are hungry and want to eat something delicious try this place. You will not be disapointed.

I was finally around the area & ordered 4 tripas doraditas (crunchy intestines) tacos & 4 tongue to go. I was not expecting the large tortillas & homemade! tripas were my fav & it's a different kind of crunch & definitely not like the extra fried I have eaten elsewhere.

It was the first time. I ordered a taco to eat there and 3 burritos to go. They were very pleasant, courteous, polite, and very welcoming . The food was great, and the taco was a fresh homemade tortilla. I'll be back when I'm in the area. Muchas gracias. 👍

Best tacos de tripas in ALL of Los Angeles!!!! Excellent service, Big portions and great taste all around!! Make sure to order the salsa habanero if you like extra spicy!! The menudo on Saturday and Sunday is the best!!!!

I was looking for some bomb tacos and burritos. Firstly the service was amazing. The cool guy made everything the way I like it. I ordered 2 steaks and 1 chicken tacos and 1 streak burrito. The portions were up above normal. So the taste of the food was really good. The tacos were really good but I’ve had better. Now that burrito was Fire. Like I was mad I didn’t order another one. Now that what I’m talking about that burrito was bomb. It would definitely be 5 stars if my tacos tasted like that burrito. I would definitely try again. If your in the area you should definitely try. The presentation of the food is great quality. If you would like to invite me back please contact me.

I was recently serenaded by Mariachis while chowing down on some exquisite Home Cooked Mexican Food at Santa Cecilia Restaurant at Mariachi Square.. this is a small restaurant that seats 8 people indoors and 8 outside.. the Chile Verde is outstanding and 3 Tacos and a soda for only a few dollars
Mark W — Google review
More people would eat tripa if tripa was (aptly) described as "fried sausage casings," or if it was better known how magnificent the tripa is at Santa Cecilia Mexican Restaurant. Santa Cecilia's glorious "Taco Grande de Tripa" consists of cow intestines shredded into lean ribbons that, depending on how long they are griddled, can provide varying textures ranging from fibrous to crunchy. As with bacon, the best tripa is mostly crispy on the outside with just the faintest amount of chew inside. When you order tripa at Santa Cecilia, you're always asked how you want it prepared. While the resplendent results of ordering "extra crispy" is perhaps what I'd recommend to tripa novices, you could order "regular" and be rewarded at Santa Cecilia with an arguably more interesting taco. You really ought to try it both ways -- a reasonable excuse to order more tacos here, not that you need one. Regardless of how long the tripas are cooked, the flavor is straightforward: beefy, a bit salty, and a little earthy. This pairs well with the handmade corn tortilla and the house's green salsa habanera, a zippy and tart sauce that tastes like it was purpose-built for this specific taco.

The very best experience. I don’t speak a word of Spanish and the owner was very helpful and I just said bring me the most popular meal you are known for making…. I was completely satisfied and happy. Don’t let the small size for you, the portions were tremendous and the value is even better .. it was delicious
