Hondo's On Main is a lively and casual spot located on Fredericksburg's vibrant Main Street, offering a mix of Texan fare including burgers, BBQ, and Tex-Mex dishes. Named after local legend John Russel "Hondo" Crouch, this restaurant and live music venue provides a fun and friendly dining experience with indoor/outdoor seating and a full bar. Guests can enjoy live music every night, along with special events like Wednesday songwriters showcase and Sunday gospel music lunches.
We love eating outdoors! Hondo's On Main has a lovely outdoor area perfect for dining al fresco. Their appetizers were quick and tasty, especially if you like cheese! The pimento and brisket balls were yummy. Everyone enjoyed their food. The Slob Cobb Salad with the vinaigrette dressing was exactly what I wanted to eat to help me cool down after a hike up The Enchanted Rock. The band was great! I didn't catch their name, but I'll try to post a video. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. When it began to rain, we were able to quickly find a table indoors. The staff were friendly and available for food delivery, clean up, and taking trays. Their method of paying at a window and using a buzzer/beeper when the food was ready seems to make ordering and receiving food very efficient. Drinks were self serve, which is nice because... no waiting!! I will definitely return. Thanks for a great experience!

I came here for dinner and really enjoyed the atmosphere. There was live music at the time and people were enjoying a meal and dancing to the music. I went for the brisket platter, which unfortunately want that great. The brisket itself was quite tough and not comparable with real Texas BBQ places in the area. The coleslaw was also a bit bland. Some of the other dishes I saw looked fantastic, so perhaps I just chose the wrong dish.
Jacob H — Google review
The food was great. I had the Poblano Chicken Sandwich, my wife had the BBQ Brisket Sandwich. We got one of each of the sides Onion Strings, Fresh Parmesan Potato Chips, Curly Q Fries and Sweet Potatoes Fries. All 4 were tasty. Definitely going back for a burger.
Matthew K — Google review
This was some of the best food we've had in a long time. The burger was fresh and tasted like it had been grilled outside, the hot dog was great, and the quesadilla was fresh. The chili was hands down the best item we had. There were no beans! The popsicle margarita was surprisingly good. Ended up ordering another! The salsa, guac, and nachos were good. Honestly, everything was amazing. Can't say enough about this place! Sat outside in the covered seating during a rain storm and it was dry and peaceful. Will be back again.
Holly G — Google review
While planning on a trip to Fredericksburg we decided to eat here before we went back home. The atmosphere was very nice with indoor and outdoor seating. They had love music playing which I typically love when restaurants do this. I ordered the chicken sandwich which looked amazing but upon taking a bite I believe the batter they used could have used a little more seasoning in my opinion but it was still very good. The fries were very good and seasoned well. The kid's hotdog was very good as well. All in all, I will definitely come back here and update my review with the food I decide to eat. If you're ever in the area come check it out.
Jonathan G — Google review
We met a friend here for drinks the other day, it’s a great spot and seems to be a favorite haunt. We got spicy margaritas and nachos, all were delicious. The margaritas were good sized, strong and reasonably priced! There was no live music when we were there but it was very busy (Saturday late afternoon). This is a self service establishment, you place and pick up drink orders at the bar (one indoors, one outdoors) and food orders are picked up at the kitchen counter when the buzzer alerts. We didn’t wait long for our food and everyone was kind and helpful.
Amanda M — Google review
My husband and I were there in Fredericksburg, Texas to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food at Hondo’s was HORRIBLE. The food had such an ugly taste to it. The only good about this place was the live band. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save you money and go somewhere else.
Miriam Y — Google review
I gave this place 5 stars for service because you serve yourself. You are seated and given a menu. Then you go place your order at one of the two bars. When your order is ready, you pick it up at the kitchen window. Food was good. We sat outside and enjoyed some live music. This place is dog friendly so we also enjoyed the pups.

Fine dining restaurant

Bistro
Vaudeville is a unique and trendy bistro located in Fredericksburg, Texas. It's part of a complex that includes a retail showroom and an art gallery, creating a vibrant and eclectic atmosphere. The bistro itself has the ambiance of a basement speakeasy, accessed through the boutique above. It offers a diverse experience, functioning as a wine library, pastry shop, coffee bar, and power-lunch spot with French-inspired cuisine.
Fun place. Food was delicious. We went for dinner. Only access is stairs due to the historical nature of the building. Staff was super friendly, almost too much as everyone checked on everything. We highly recommend the all cheese charcuterie board.
Sonja A — Google review
This restaurant is arguably the fanciest restaurant in Fredericksburg, the closest thing to “fine dining” they have. However, this is Fredericksburg so don’t let that intimidate you - the restaurant is upscale but still affordable & easy enough to get a reservation at even on a holiday. There is no dress code, we had lunch here on Mother’s Day and saw plenty of shorts & sandals. It’s easily accessible from the main shopping district, once you arrive at the building just go down the stairs on the left - the restaurant itself is underground in the basement. Note that it is dark, moody lighting and loud but pleasant music. There is comfy bench seating and the service at the host stand was great, he found our reservation and walked us to our table quickly. Our waitress was a little slow and confused, definitely not fine dining table service but it was all fine. The menu selection for lunch was limited, one daily special and then just casual finger foods - sandwiches, pizza, salads and soups. They did have a vegetarian sandwich and pizza options which I really appreciated. Our appetizer was fine, we did the Mediterranean snack plate. I wish they had some higher end or trendier apps and sides or more hot fork and knife food options for lunch. Even adding fries to the menu would have been a big improvement. Overall none of the food was really impressive but the ambiance was worth it, considering the lack of upscale and luxury dining in Fredericksburg we will definitely be returning to try out dinner.
Ivette B — Google review
This place lived up to its food reviews. My daughters had Quiche both said delicious. The Phillip was cooked perfect n delicately. My Ruben sandwich was perfectly made. Marble bread was fresh n sliced perfect to allow bread to corn beef ratio come through. The corn beef was lean yet tender and flavorful and just right amount. The only knock is there signature dishes (didn’t get so maybe unfair) because I saw it coming out and only 2 piece of chicken for $34 .. that’s too expensive . But if people buying it good for them. An inviting atmosphere nice people watching. Service was attentive.
Josh G — Google review
Lovely brunch at Vaudeville this weekend. Definitely recommend getting there early as it is very popular with limited seating. I expected the menu to have more brunch items but it really seemed like a lunch menu with very few breakfast items. However, the Sunday fried chicken special was delightful, and I’m glad we got it. The chicken was well-seasoned and crispy with very flavorful potatoes and greens on the side. They need to add a Bloody Mary to the brunch menu and take care of the fly problem downstairs but it certainly wasn’t keeping any guests away. The decor and atmosphere are elegant and tasteful making this a great option for your Fredericksburg getaway weekend. Cheers!

*dog friendly* beautiful little eatery (downstairs) with a cute lil shop on the first floor. The pork belly tacos are delicious and with the eggplant purée- wow! And for dessert the pistachio tiramisu is a must! Four stars because the service was not that great and our waitress definitely rushed us out.
Somekindofalien X — Google review
Exceptionally great food with the quality of ingredients far above my normal 5*. The beef carpaccio was very good with capers, salty olives, aoli, micro greens and a crispy assortment of crackers. Perfect with a red glass of wine. I will be back. Up-scale atmosphere and service!
Linda G — Google review
My husband and I arrived 20 minutes early for our Saturday night reservation hoping to get a cocktail at the bar before dinner, unfortunately the hostess said that they "don't allow waiting at the bar". I took that to mean that the bar is also by reservation only, but we were a bit off put by that. We were seated shortly after our reservation time and from that point forward we had a 10/10 experience. The restaurant itself is very dimly lit and vibey, perfect for a date night. Based on reviews I was a little worried that you were required to order from the pre-fixe menu on Friday & Saturday nights no matter the size of your party but that turned out not to be the case. To start, we shared a margarita pizza which more closely resembled a regular cheese pizza but was absolutely delicious. For our mains I ordered the grilled veggie salad and added the confit chicken and my husband ordered the duck confit. Duck confit is one of his all time favorite dishes and this one ranked as one of the best ones he has ever had. He let me have *one* bite and it really was divine. Overall we were really impressed with the food and would certainly recommend Vaudeville to any friends going to Fredericksburg.
Maggie J — Google review
We split a delicious 😋 French Dip & I still couldn’t finish it all. The waitress was very attentive & the food great. The only drawback was once the restaurant became busy it was very noisy & hard to hear. We were sat at the front of the restaurant. Perhaps it is quieter further back. They sat a very large party of 12 & the balance of their party at a round table of 8. All the woman were there together. We wish they would have set us further back since we were the 2nd table to arrive on 8/5. Also, our bill was $110 & the two couples each split a meal, plus 2 people had a cup of soup. Two of us drank water, a Coke & a Mimosa.

Nestled just a block away from Fredericksburg's Main St, West End Pizza Co. has been serving up delectable brick-oven fired pizzas since 2009. This family-owned establishment prides itself on using fresh ingredients and homemade dough to create their signature pies. The spacious game room, large patio bar, and outdoor picnic tables make it an ideal spot for families and groups to gather.
First timers. We arrived around 4 pm and got sat right away. Then it got busy so we got there at the right time. Our waiter was friendly and patient. We ordered the fried ravioli, pepperoni Stromboli and meatza. Very delicious 10/10. The ranch was the cherry on top! Service was great and the atmosphere was comfortable.

We had a lovely shaded outdoor lunch here. Service was excellent. And the food was great. A few in our group have difficulty hearing in crowded restaurants. But eating outside allowed for great conversation. The artichoke dip was our favorite. And the gluten free pizza was good. We also loved our pizza.
Diana L — Google review
Order delivery tonight, got our order at a reasonable time. Everything was hot and very delicious! We ordered a 12” pizza with Alfredo instead of pizza sauce with pepperoni and pineapples on 1/2 with some salads and mozzarella sticks. Perfect dinner for a night in & the delivery driver was very kind! Highly recommend. I forgot to take photos until we were almost done 🤣
Jenny C — Google review
Decided to come up from San Antonio and do some tiny home living for a week and stopped in West End Pizza Co. for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by this establishment. Service was prompt and polite. The pizza was delicious with a good crisp exterior and light fluff. All the vegetables seemed very fresh, bright and vibrant. My youngest decided to get their pasta and she really liked their meat sauce. They had several gluten free options for crust for my wife which she also enjoyed. The atmosphere is perfect in the early spring as they have plenty of outdoor seating. They also welcomed our pup. The drinks from the bar were pretty good as we ordered a skinny margarita and a jalapeño peach margarita. The Jalapeño Peach was a little more on the juice side but still was a good drink. They also offered a military discount which is always appreciated. Would highly recommend getting off the main strip of Fredericksburg and checking out West End Pizza Co. Parking can be challenging any where in Fredericksburg so, just have a plan to walk 2-3 min to get to the restaurant. But public parking is free.

West End Pizza Co. is our favorite place to eat in Fredericksburg, TX. Our favorite pizza is the West End signature pizza. Perfectly fluffy thin crust pizza with awesome meat and veggies piled on top! Shelby is our favorite server so make sure to ask for her. We love paintings and photographs! We feel like we are dining in an art studio. Love West End Pizza Co.!!!
Austin T — Google review
Was fairly disappointed in this pizza place. The food was good at first, but then everyone's stomach started hurting. Thought it was from something earlier in the day until we ate leftovers a few days later and the same thing occurred. The business was loud and the staff seemed stressed. They were friendly but seemed a bit scattered. The toppings were fresh but it was almost too dense. Not enough pizza for the amount of things on it! Cheese sticks tasted like sonic cheese sticks, which I enjoy but don't expect from a dine in establishment.
Holly G — Google review
Let me start by saying we are not avid pizza eaters. We eat pizza maybe 4 times a year. We LOVED this pizza! There is something amazing going on with the cheese ! Not sure if they make in the back or what, but it was so fresh and so yummy! The sauce to pie ratio was perfect! The toppings delicious! I had the gluten free crust and it was a crunchy delight! Please give this place a try I want it to be around for a long time! Best pizza I have eaten to date !!
Teri C — Google review
West End Pizza Co. in Fredericksburg absolutely understood the assignment. We rolled in with a literal army of hungry Boy Scouts and somehow fed all 20 of them with just six pies… and everyone left full, happy, and ready to earn their Pizza Consumption merit badge. We ordered a mix: Margarita, Meatza, Cheese, Chicken, the West End Supreme, and a gluten-free option. Every single one hit. The square-cut slices were perfect for sharing (and low-key made us feel like we were at a classy pizza party instead of wrangling middle schoolers with dirt on their faces). The crust was crispy, toppings were generous, and the vibe? Casual and cool… the kind of place where locals, visitors, and tired Scoutmasters can all sit down and agree: “Yeah, this place slaps.” The price was shockingly reasonable for how many mouths we fed. Bonus points for not skimping on the gluten-free pie… our gluten-avoiders were thrilled, which never happens. Honestly, if you’re in Fredericksburg and craving pizza that’s fresh, fast, and surprisingly elevated, this is your spot. Just be warned: you may leave planning your next camping trip around another pizza run.

Clear River Ice Cream, Bakery & Deli is a vibrant and cheerful ice cream parlor located in Tampa, Florida. The whimsical retro decor with red booths creates a colorful wonderland for visitors of all ages. The menu offers a variety of delicious ice cream creations, sundaes, sandwiches, scones, turnovers, kolaches and homemade cookies in flavors like Snickerdoodle and Oatmeal Raisin.
Retro vibes, if you prefer smaller portions just make sure you tell them! I made the mistake of not saying small scoops the first time and I got way too much ice cream for me to enjoy. The second time I said small “kiddie scoops” and I got the perfect amount! I loved the espresso, pralines and cream, toasted coconut, and the red raspberry sorbet!
Nadia A — Google review
The ice cream was good. But it was extremely packed and difficult to get around. The decor was cute but it was hard to enjoy with how many people were crammed inside. You also couldn’t really hear the staff or properly see the options. I liked it but I would only come if it wasn’t busy. The ice cream was good but not worth the chaos.
Abby B — Google review
How I remember ice cream shops! What a nice throwback to simpler days! This cute shop offers a variety of food items including baked potatoes and sandwiches. I gave four stars because my order was incorrect. I ordered a sundae with pineapple upside down cake and strawberry cheesecake ice cream (I was given regular strawberry ice cream). It will definitely be on the list to visit again in the future.

This is a great place to take a break and get out of the heat! Lots of flavors and real ice cream, it will cost you about $9.00 for two scoops in a cup… pricy but really good.

Such a cute little ice cream spot! They have a great variety of flavors — we ended up trying so many because everything looked (and tasted!) amazing. 🍨 The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. Honestly, this is one of the best ice creams in town. Creamy, flavorful, and made with love. A must-visit if you’re in the area!
Hemani S — Google review
Such a cute retro dessert spot on the Fredericksburg downtown strip. It is so old school and reminds me of a diner. They were playing Richie Valance so it was a whole vibe! We stopped for some ice cream which was so good and refreshing! They offer free samples because it is hard to choose from over 30 flavors. We tried the peach and the strawberry cream which both tasted creamy and delicious, full of flavor and real fruit chunks. We loved exploring the games as they are all old school and brought back many memories! It’s not just an ice cream shop as they also sell salads, sandwiches, and soups! Prices are very reasonable! Restrooms were clean and there is additional seating upstairs. We highly recommend stopping here!

Backwoods BBQ is a charming family-owned eatery nestled in the heart of Hill Country, where the aroma of mesquite-cooked pit BBQ fills the air. With its rustic decor and spacious seating, it’s an inviting spot for families to gather and enjoy mouthwatering dishes like tender brisket, juicy ribs, and flavorful steaks. The menu boasts a variety of traditional sides that perfectly complement their smoked meats.
Truly delicious! We had the brisket, beef ribs, pork ribs, and jalapeno sausage. Everything was wonderful, the jalapeno sausage is a showstopper. The place is very large, and the service was quick. We got ours to go.

Order at counter - take food to table. Person who carved meat very helpful. Food was great - we were given BBQ sauce on side and all of us preferred the meat without. Meat was tender and moist and smoky! If we lived near here we would be regulars!

Firstly, the cuisine is exceptional. The service is outstanding and the ambiance is remarkably relaxing, reminiscent of a backyard barbecue with family. The cashier, Nik, is exceptionally courteous and ensures that orders are accurate and delivered promptly. Today, I ordered two servings of the lulling sausage plate, which comes with potato salad, beans, pickles, onions, and barbecue sauce. It is highly recommended to visit Backwoods Barbecue, located at the intersection of East Commerce and Hackberry Street.

Let me just say this: Backwoods BBQ knows exactly what they’re doing. Like… soul-healing, finger-licking, don’t-talk-to-me-I’m-eating kind of BBQ. The brisket? Tender. Juicy. Basically melts like butter if butter had a smoky, peppery crust. The ribs? Fall-off-the-bone legends. And the corn? Look, I don’t know what magic they sprinkled on it, but I’d drive back just for that golden, buttery goodness. Legit A-MAIZE-ING. 🌽✨ Service? Friendly doesn’t even cover it — everyone there treats you like you’ve been coming for years. It's that small-town “you’re family now” vibe that makes the food taste even better. Seriously, everything was on point. No weak spots. No complaints. No crumbs left on the plate. If you're rolling through Fredericksburg and skip Backwoods BBQ, you're doing Texas wrong.

The best BBQ I’ve ever tasted. Even my father, a seasoned BBQ taster, put it in his top 5 all time. Great meat, the rub was killer, and the sides were incredible. Don’t delay, go here, do not miss this place!

Was looking forward to a nice dinner with my wife and friends here on Friday night 9/26/2025 and arrived at 7 pm. They close at 8 and we were aware of that. The main doors appeared locked however a group sitting outside enjoying the night said the side doors are open. That said we went in those doors and appeared to have upset the counter people working the food line. At the time we were several people away from ordering the person carving meat said only the fatty brisket and chicken is available. Ok no biggie. Then we ordered and only chicken available. I’ll have to say the chicken was excellent. And the meat carver was friendly. Come on management. This was supposed to be a fun Friday night for us. The live singer was also voiceably upset he didn’t get better tips for playing. I’m a Texan through and through but this wasn’t Texan. No friendly atmosphere or hospitality. We won’t be back to try again.

I bought the three meat plate. Beef was incredibly tender, excellent flavor. Same with the pork ribs. Tina bought the stuffed baked potato which was bountiful and tasty. The pit master produced an incredible meal.

Münch Food Park is a vibrant outdoor dining destination featuring a variety of food trucks serving everything from donuts to barbecue in a family-friendly atmosphere. The park offers ample outdoor seating, a bar, and live music, making it an ideal spot for large groups. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the beverage barn on weekends and special events such as loteria nights for 25 cents per card. The park also provides clean and air-conditioned bathrooms, wheelchair accessibility, and a fenced play area for toddlers.
We were the first ones here on a saturday morning. We were driving through and needed lunch so we found s dog friendly place. The food was delicious and the service was awesome. They do loteria at night for 25 cents a card. There hours are strange. 11am to 2pm and then they open again at 5pm to 9pm. They do have a bar which I think is open at night. And there is a stage for live music and performances. The bathrooms are clean and air conditioned. Parking is small and limited so I suggest getting there early. Only 4 shades parking spots too. There is a small pay area for kids as well. Highly recommended checking this place out.

I’m giving it 4 stars only because I didn’t attend during the evening when apparently they have a live band and all food trucks are opened. The place is very clean, well thought out and planned. There is restrooms , plenty of seating, a playground for the kids , games in several tables for family fun, corn hole games, tv’s posted around, heat lamps and fire pits for cool days , bar and stage for live bands preform. (I didn’t get good pictures of the food we ate it lol) Every stand had something delicious! Very nice place for anyone to sit and eat or drink and relax outdoors.

Came on a cold day so not all the trailers were open but we ordered from the ones we’re open and they were all good. There’s a place for kids and pets to play, a must visit the next time we’re in town.

Great find in Fredericksburg! We came here early in the morning during the week and only two vendors were open; The Bender Biscuit and Pie Company and a coffee vendor that serves coffee from a trike! The other vendor trucks included a Snow Cone and Hot dog truck, a BBQ truck, and a taco and burger truck. The location also included a permanent building that serves drinks, but it wasn't open. We got breakfast from Bender Biscuit and Pie Company and wow, hands down the best biscuits we've ever had!! We got a traditional sausage, egg and cheese sandwich and The Rek (green chile biscuit, carnitas, egg, jalapeno slaw, and pickled onions). Plan to come back for tacos made with homemade tortillas.

They are open for total eclipse April 8, 2024. Great choices, hamburger to bbq to Mexican food.. and snowcones. Ask for Italian ice.. amazing.

The mini tacos are very flavourful and their hot sauce has a nice kick to it. Corn in the cup delicious and the churro perfect level of sweet and creamy.

Nestled in the heart of Texas Wine Country, Cabernet Grill is a charming rustic-style restaurant that offers an elevated dining experience. The family-owned establishment prides itself on its extensive wine list featuring over 75 selections from local wineries. Set within the picturesque Cotton Gin Village bed and breakfast, the timber-framed building exudes a romantic ambiance, with a lovely patio for al fresco dining.
Our first time here. The Gin Mill bar was superb, as was the Texas made gin. Then we went to the restaurant where we had an outstanding meal. My Filet Mignon and my wife's grilled shrimp were great. The Filet one of the best I've ever had! We'll definitely be back.

This is an experience. The food was absolutely outstanding! Kyle was awesome with service. I never felt neglected but I never felt bothered either. His timing was perfect. The food was what dreams are made of. The lobster boudain balls were just enough to whet the appetite. They were melt in your mouth good. The steak I had was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. The Garlic Beranaise sauce on the side enhanced the flavor of the steak even more. The Smashed Potatoes and Three Cheese Grits were phenomenal as well. I really enjoyed my experience here and there is no doubt that I will be back.

We all LOVED Cabernet Grill! We tried so many different dishes and literally loved them all! I am so happy we came here! My favorite thing was probably the boudin balls. The crab cakes were also so good! Pistachio cheesecake- a must! Honestly you can’t go wrong here!!

Husband got a $62 steak and he was not too impressed….he said it just lacked flavor….but the horseradish sauce he mentioned was EPIC!!! My flounder was pretty good but the sweet mashed potatoes were THE BOMB!!!!! Our waiter was super diligent and helpful with menu. I was happy to receive a birthday cheesecake and ordered an additional slice of pistachio cheesecake that was out-of-this-WORLD!!!!!!

We were unable to get a reservation but came relatively early to dinner service and were able to get walk-in patio seating within 15 minutes of waiting. Even while you wait, the restaurant is part of the Cotton Gin Village lodgings, which makes you feel like you’ve entered a small town in and of itself. We had the ten-ounce strip steak with three cheese grits, pork medallions with market veggies, and the lemon-honey-golden milk crème brûlée, which was alllll amazing. We were also given complementary “shots” of the roasted carrot soup, which was delicious!

Great place for a relaxing and delicious meal. Chicken fried ribeye was outstanding. Took the Mrs for birthday celebration, the card signed by the staff waiting at our table was a nice touch. They topped it all off with a delicious slice of cheesecake. Great ambiance, server was very attentive without hovering, or being annoying. Well done!

Delightful dinner at Cabernet Grill this evening! Very cool place, unique venue, old country Texas style. Cabernet Grill has been serving up great grub for 20+ years. There’s a reason! Christopher was our waiter tonight… well done! Complimentary sample of the carrot soup was very good! We opened with the wedge salad… on point! Throughout the meal we enjoyed Texas’ own Heath Vineyards sparkling wine… delicious! We next tried the magic mushrooms… very different, but we went with the waiter’s rec on that. Amazing! For entrees we shared the NY strip, smothered in gorgonzola and mushrooms, and the sautéed flounder in cream sauce, crawfish tails and capers. Both were over the top good! The blackberry crisp/Mexican vanilla ice cream dessert perfectly rounded out the meal. A small dish of complimentary chocolate mole covered almonds was awesome. Cozy, comfortable place, great and friendly staff, off the chart food, 5-stars all day everyday! Highly recommend Cabernet Grill!

Came here after seeing the reviews - it does not do the place justice. The location is gorgeous! We arrived a little early to our reservations so we followed the path to the lounge and had a delicious cocktail. We got to our table and the dining room is very rustic and warm with a large fireplace. A great date night spot. Our server was knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We started with the fried deviled eggs and wow didn’t think I could love deviled eggs more - but clearly I can. My husband and I both got a ribeye steak and a side of drop biscuits. When I tell you that was one of the best cooked steaks we’ve ever had - it was. It was cooked to absolute perfection. The biscuits were perfectly crisp, warm and fluffy. My only regret was we were too full to get dessert. I’ll be dreaming about this place. Highly recommend!

The Auslander, a popular German-American eatery in Fredericksburg, Texas, offers an authentic Bavarian dining experience. Established in 1979, this restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating with a pleasant outdoor ambiance. Guests can savor traditional schnitzel wieners and other German specialties while enjoying live music and a wide selection of beers including their own brews. The menu also includes steaks, seafood, and chicken dishes for those seeking alternative options.
Nice German restaurant with a variety of German meals. Portions are decent sized and pretty tasty. Waitstaff was pretty attentive, making everything was going well. The parking lot in the back of the restaurant seems a lot easier than trying to find parking in the front of the restaurant.

What a great place to come chill and have some great food. Our server was amazing. The fried mushrooms were the biggest best appetizer ever. My dish was delicious. The meatballs were so good. I love coming here. It was such a great experience. We'll definitely be back to try more delicious meals. This made our Fredericksburg experience wonderful ❤️

I really enjoyed the potroast and mashed potatoes. We also got the potato pancakes which were pretty good. I tried my hubby’s chicken and it was yummy. The atmosphere in the dining room is so so. They have a couple of pretty paintings and some neat cuckoo clocks.

We loved this restaurant! The service was awesome and the food was excellent. There was no wait time and we were given a choice of tables. We chose the open windows, which was nice and airy. The decor was fitting for the restaurant and really reminded us of the renaissance. We will definitely return!

We ordered the Schnitzel Wiener Art and the Bratwurst platters. We chose red cabbage and the German potato salad for one of the entrees and sauerkraut and potato salad for the other entree. The sides were just average. Both plates came with a warm dinner roll and some butter. The Schnitzel was nicely breaded and fried to a golden crisp. The pork cutlet was a generous portion and tasty. The bratwurst was also a large portion but was somewhat bland. A few packets of Gulden mustard were offered. Some mustard made in-house would have been a nicer touch. They had a decent selection of beers and wines. We got the H.P. Dunkel on draft and a glass of red zin, both of which paired nicely with the meal. We were too stuffed to have any dessert but they do serve apple strudel and German chocolate cake. The service was attentive and friendly. Prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was rustic but comfortable.

We ordered the Jager schnitzel and German meatballs with Hofbrau Helles for beer. The food was definitely better than the other German restaurant across the street. The theming is nice but I think the other German restaurant edges them out in that department.

New American restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Cafe
Sunset Grill is a charming New American bistro in Fredericksburg, offering a cheerful atmosphere and thoughtfully sourced dishes. While it may seem ironic that the restaurant is named after the sunset but caters more to breakfast, its beach town vibe with an American diner twist makes it a delightful spot for morning meals.
We sat inside which was definitely the right choice! The food was phenomenal and the service was fast. I wish we could shout our servers name but she was moving so fast I couldn’t see it. She checked in on us several times and did a great job. I don’t typically choose sweet options but the banana french toast was spectacular. It had this caramel sauce that wasn’t overly nauseating sweet but had almost a saltiness to it. It was delicious the bananas were cooked or something so they melted into the bread and it was great. Would definitely recommend trying it. We also had the big A sandwich - also phenomenal. The bacon could’ve been more cooked but overall I’d still give it a 10/10. The flavors and how it was cooked just melted together really well. The potato’s were yummy and salted and the bun was so delicious. We also got a side biscuit and gravy. Biscuit was a 10/10. The gravy needed something more but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I’d give it a 6/10. Overall really enjoyed our experience here! Okay so we loved our meal so much we came again today. The food was still delicious but our waitress unfortunately was not near as good as the first. She came to check up on us once but walked away before we could answer and was overall dismissive and a bit rude. I think her name was Paulette. I hope it was just a fluke but definitely dampened the experience and if we came back I would not want to be seated in her section. 🫤

This place is good (but read the last part): - It's east of the center of town and parking is more available than the places on Main Street. - Outdoor eating area is nice, and they allow dogs. - Prices are around $15-$20, which is reasonable for Fredericksburg breakfast, sandwiches and salads. - Fresh, quality ingredients, and delicious food. BUT... - The service was far too slow, and we had to ask for everything (straws, spoons for coffee, clearing dishes, the bill, etc.) and wait and wait. - The flies outside are awful. They're aggressive about getting to the food on the table, and they're aren't many fans outside to blast them away. They either need traps or significantly more fans in the outdoors eating area. Give it a try, but make sure you're under or in front of a fan of you eat outside. And expect to have to manage your server aggressively. But the food is delicious, so I hope they can solve the service and fly issues.

We discovered Sunset Grill through a quick Google search and were so glad we did. We ended up coming here two days in a row! The banana French toast was hands down one of the best we’ve ever had, and the portion was generous and satisfying. The restaurant is tucked away from the main tourist area, making it feel calm and relaxed. The service was friendly and fast, and we didn’t have to wait for a table either morning. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great breakfast spot in town!

What a delightful find - will certainly come again! Generous portions and full of flavor - even the side of yogurt was flavorful and bright with fresh fruit - granola and a drizzle of honey on top! The eggs Benedict were amazing and when I added bacon - 🥓 it was amazing ( they didn’t skimp on the bacon and it was thick cut perfectly cooked!) Next time I’ll try a mimosa with breakfast before walking the Main Street shops! Thanks for a great brunch to fuel our adventures for the day!!

Great atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. VERY quick service and, without a doubt, some of the cleanest bathrooms in Gillespie County. Menu has a lot of variety in addition to the standard bacon and eggs dishes. Food portion sizes were adequate. I had the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. The potatoes were a little overdone but nothing terrible. The biscuit and eggs were spot on. My wife had the French toast with caramelized bananas. It was on the sweet side but not prohibitively so. Total with two juices was $37 before tip. Absolutely recommend for breakfast.

Ordered traditional breakfast and Carmelized Bananas over French toast. Had house coffee as well. Everything was delicious 😋. Waitstaff were friendly and professional. 10/10 absolutely recommend to try it for breakfast. Note that the entrance isnt super well marked but there is a small parking lot in the back and you enter through there.

Some people are made to serve, & our server was the epitome of that. A God-given heart to make people happy. Ordered: 1. French toast - delectable 2. Fruit parfait - nothing like I've ever eaten before 3. Breakfast platter - perfect 4. Orange juice - exactly what we needed 5. Coffee- hot & never-ending The perfect brunch spot & pet friendly. We took our dog and he was offered a bowl of water right away. It's not off of main, but that might be the best part about it. Coming back every time!

First of all, Crossroads has incredibly attentive and welcoming staff. You know you're deep in the heart of Texas when they bring a chair specifically for your cowboy hat. Bread and a selection of sweet or savory butter was delivered immediately. Our orders were taken and food was delivered in a timely manner. I had the crusted halibut, which could have had more bacon sauce but was still delicious. The risotto was some of the best I've ever had--so cheesy! My husband said the prime rib was tender. The cooked spinach was sautéed in butter. Everything was delicious. After dinner, we went into the bar where there was a dance floor and live music. The perfect evening!

By far some of the best seafood I have had. The fresh grouper was cooked to perfection and my fiancé‘s halibut was delicious. Both served on a bird of risotto that I could eat every day. Can’t wait to come back. The dessert menu was one of the best I’ve seen in a long while eating all across Texas.

Came with a large group (made reservations in advance) and everything was wonderful. Had a variety of food preferences and everyone enjoyed their orders. Loved the bread and honey butter! Prime rib was fantastic and a HUGE cut of meat. Brussel sprouts and risotto were also wonderful. Would have been nice if there had been a vegetarian option on the menu that WASNT just a salad, but I understand that's to be expected from a steakhouse. Would definitely come again, especially for a celebratory meal!

BurgerBurger is a laid-back restaurant located on historic Main Street, offering a contemporary dining space and a relaxing outdoor courtyard with a West Coast flair. Visitors can enjoy giant juicy burgers while sipping on shakes and cocktails. Additionally, the restaurant is part of a diverse culinary scene in the area, catering to foodie families and culinary gourmands alike.
I had naked chicken wings and they were perfectly cooked, juicy inside, crispy outside and very meaty. Everyone said they loved the onion rings. My son ordered a malt shake and it came out in a big heavy glass mug. Food came out slower than expected but it was all hot and delicious. Servers were great!

Party fo 2 on a weekday at noon. About 1/4 full outside and inside. Nice atmopshere outside with fans/mist going. Can't speak for inside atmosphere. From time of order to food was under 10mins. Food was considered very good (a bit overpriced, but it is on the main street and it is F'burg). Burgers were rated as excellent, fries were good, onion rings good (but overspiced on the batter). Our server was friendly and attentive. Here is why I can't give the BurgerBurger a higher rating. I asked for a taste of the b-bq sauce they use on the burger ahead of time (so I could decide if I wanted that sauce on the burger or something else). I was given some sauce, but when the bill came out (you don't get to see an itemized bill until after you pay...at least that is what happened in my case) I found out I was being charged for the 'extra' sauce that is listed on the menu. I was never told I would be charged for simply 'tasting' the sauce ahead of time. My server indicated the manager told them I had to be charged as if I was ordering an extra sauce, even though this was never conveyed to me ahead of time (I never ordered the extra sauce listed on the menu). I have never had any other establishment charge to do this. So, what could have been a 4 or 5-star is now a 3-star due to this questionable billing practice. I highly recommend everyone who visits this establishment insist on seeing the itemized bill before you pay...I was not given the option.

The patio had such a nice vibe. The inside lacked some ambiance, but the outside made up for it. Food was fantastic and service was great.

Great burgers, lovely patio dining, but quite disappointing service. The Texas Smokehouse burger was delicious. The house margarita was tasty but small. It was lunchtime on a Sunday but not so busy, plenty of open tables, and no wait. Ten minutes passed before anyone stopped for our order. Another thirty passed before our food arrived. My wife had to ask for her soda four times. Also, it was rather on the pricey end for a couple of burgers. Unimpressed really

OMG this place is more than delicious, I don't even know if there is a word for it. I got to say I have been living in texas for 18 years and I haven't eat this good. This is a must. I had a classic burger with some chili cheese fries and I got to say it was megalicious. I order a mocha shake as well. Forgot to take a pic but I have no words for it. Come and try this place. If don't I come for you.
ViTa's L — Google review
Decent variety on menu. I got a cheeseburger with fries and a blackberry margarita. The fries were nice and crispy like I enjoy. The burger was pretty thick, good size, it could use more seasoning it was a little bland. The bun was good. My mom got onion rings and those were yummy. I did not get a picture of that.
Leah C — Google review
The food and atmosphere was excellent here, but I must say the service was truly awful! Our waitress was extremely flippant, rude, sarcastic, dropped our food on our table and did not come back to check on us. I realize that is just one employee, but it seemed to be the attitude of all the wait staff we saw. If you read my reviews you'll see that I am not one to speak harshly of waitstaff.

Altdorf Biergarten, situated on the west end of Main Street, offers a classic German beer garden experience with a spacious patio. The family-owned establishment serves traditional German dishes alongside eclectic options like cold-cured smoked salmon on pumpernickel bread. Indulge in hearty German fare such as schnitzel burgers and jagerschnitzel, or opt for lighter options. Wash it all down with a selection of German brews while enjoying the outdoor seating.
The food was great. I especially liked the pickled cabbage. The bacon based sauce for the schnitzel was superb. Our waiter did disappear during our dinner and did not offer refills until we were ready to leave which is why I rated the service 4 stars.
James W — Google review
I love the service & atmosphere of Altdorf Biergarten. The elderly German waitress was really nice & knowledgeable about the menu items. She walked me through the entire restaurants & even showed me where to take pictures. The restaurant was built on a very old well that they sealed with tempered glass so you can stand on top & look directly down its depths. The lighting inside is a wonderful mix of sunlight, eminating through drawn laced curtained wimdows, & soft warm glow of chandelier light. Beautiful western themed paintings lined the rugged antique stone walls of this ancient spacious building. The restrooms are always clean & service was very professional & prompt. There is also a very large & well organized outdoor area spread out against a beautiful landscape mural. THAT BEING SAID, the food is pretty bland, mediocre, & the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. I had the fried pickles for appetizer which were pretty good, but again kinda skimpy for $11. The Jagerschnitzel, with potato salad & red cabbage & Zwiebelschnitzel with spatzle pasta & red cabbage were both pretty bland & came out luke warm. I had their burger & fries on another trip there & it was a bit better, but nothing extraordinary. Their presentation & plating is pretty good though & adds to the experience & atmosphere dining there.

Altdorf Biergarten in Fredericksburg, TX, is a must-visit gem that perfectly blends Texas charm with authentic German flair. The outdoor patio is inviting and shaded—ideal for enjoying a cold draft beer and hearty schnitzel or bratwurst. The live music adds a lively touch without overwhelming conversation. Friendly service and a solid beer selection round out the experience. Whether you’re just passing through or spending the weekend, Altdorf is a great spot to relax and soak in the Hill Country vibe.

During a recent weekend trip to Fredericksburg, we stumbled upon Altered Biergarten on a Friday night when we weren’t sure where to dine. As someone from Germany, I was a bit nervous about whether the restaurant would meet my expectations. Despite a bit of a wait for our table, the experience was saved by our server, Corbin, who turned our evening around with his humor and genuine warmth. We started the meal with currywurst and fried pickles, and they were absolutely amazing - a perfect introduction to the menu. For the main course, I had the Wiener schnitzel. While it wasn’t the best schnitzel I’ve had, it was definitely not the worst I’ve experienced here in the States. One of the highlights for me was finding a Radler on the menu - a refreshing choice I truly appreciated, even if it might raise a few eyebrows back home! Overall, Corbin’s fantastic service and lively personality made our visit memorable, and I’m really glad we decided to give Altered Biergarten a try. Thanks Corbin for making our night so special and fun. It’s a great spot to enjoy some unique twists on traditional favorites with a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended! 🍻🥰

Wife and I visited while we were visiting Fredericksburg. Walked in and was greeted and seated almost immediately. However, after that it just went downhill really fast. We ordered some beers first along with chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole. We also ordered a large pepperoni pizza and wife wanted the black bean soup I believe it was. We literally waited 20 minutes and still had no water or no beers. Waitress came back around was like sorry I'm trying to get your beers but I'm waiting for our bartender. I asked where he was and apparently he was outside having a fight or disagreement with someone which is so unprofessional and trashy. After about 30 minutes we received beers and all our food at once. Completely ridiculous... Salsa was actually really good and wife did like her soup. However, they claim to have the best thin crust pizza which is absolutely false. The pizza was absolutely below average. It was like a big blob of cheese with really big pepperoni on it. Waitress was really nice however it dont make up for the lack of everything else.

We stopped in here for a beer and an appetizer. We sat at the bar, the bartender was entertaining, the beer was cold and the chips salsa and guac came very quickly. They have Axis beer in tap, delicious! Watch out, the salsa is hot but smooth and flavorful. This is definitely a sawdust on the floor bar, do stop in here.

The staff was awesome and very helpful. The ingredients used are all local and made in house; you will surely taste the difference. I tried the frito pie and it was hands down the BEST chili I have ever tasted in my life. We will be stopping by once more before we leave this beautiful town.

Excellent food and service. Expect to pay about $20-$25 per person. I felt it was worth it. This was with appetizers. 1 beer, 2 sift drinks. Make sure you check out turn of the century decor and architecture. We thought a German restaurant, the menu is quite diverse with the norm. Unusual, yes, but well done. It gives everyone a chance for something they will love! You could tell fresh and hand-made.

Ordered the black bean and chicken soup when I took the first bite it’s tasted like vinegar I asked the waitress if they put vinegar in the soup and she said she didn’t know what went in the soup and left we also ordered the seasonal salad she said it was watermelon and feta cheese on top of greens the salad barley had any watermelon in it and it had goat cheese. When she brought our check she never took the price of the soup off I questioned her and she took the soup in the back and I am assuming for someone to taste it then she took off the price for the soup . Service is terrible and they are very unorganized.

A bit disappointed here considering the amount the food cost. The French dip was just okay. Described as being loaded with hot beef, when in reality there was only a couple of slices. Charged $4 for a small amount of onions and cheese which should have just come with the sandwich.

Wine bar
Lincoln Street Wine and Cigar Bar is a vintage-inspired establishment that offers a relaxed ambiance, featuring an extensive selection of over 300 global wines, with a focus on Texan varieties. The bar also serves gourmet bites perfectly paired with their wine collection, including sandwiches, pizzas, and gourmet meats and cheeses. Guests can enjoy the beautiful interior space or relax on the picturesque patio with live music and a fireplace.
Great atmosphere. Got an entire room to ourselves with comfy couches to lounge in. Had to revisit 5 years later after our first visit. Live music daily!
Hanna H — Google review
We were really looking forward to visiting this bar, and in many ways, it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was fantastic, the live music was excellent, and the drink and food options were solid. Unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined by one employee whose behavior was shockingly unprofessional. We had some feedback regarding the service when trying to order more drinks, and instead of handling it with professionalism, this employee became condescending and outright combative. It reached a point where we felt uncomfortable and ultimately decided to leave. What made it even worse was learning from locals that this behavior isn’t an isolated incident—apparently, this individual regularly drinks on shift and has a reputation for embarrassing customers he doesn’t get along with. It’s truly unfortunate because this bar has so much potential. However, as a paying customer who chose to spend part of our vacation here, it was incredibly disappointing to be treated this way. If the ownership wants to protect their reputation and retain business, they need to seriously reconsider keeping an employee who is actively driving people away. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because no one should have to experience what we did.

Nice spot with a really good atmosphere, especially if you enjoy wine and live music. The live music made the night even better and gave the place a great vibe. Service was solid and attentive.

What a fab, chilled and friendly little bar. The wines were on point and the build your own cheese board just hit right. Danny was so welcoming and down to earth, made the place.

Cliff Crawford was AMAZING. I had a beer and the lady some wine. We sat on the patio and listened to the music. 🎶 had a really great time.
Brian M — Google review
A small, eclectic venue that calls itself a "cigar bar". Yes, you can buy a cigar here, but there wasn't a very big variety. Best to bring your own. They did have a good variety of beer and wine. I had to stand in line for your drinks. There was no table service. The live music was great. They set the perfect atmosphere for a chill end to the day. I will be back. But next time, I'll bring my own cigar.
Steve H — Google review
We were excited to come here after reading all the reviews but were sadly disappointed. They have an extensive wine selection, but none from Texas. The selection of cigars was limited. The inside atmosphere was cozy and intimate and we were looking forward to relaxing with our cigar and wine. Imagine our surprise when we were informed we had to go outside to smoke because they don’t have the necessary ventilation system…. What?!? How can you advertise being a “cigar bar” when you can’t have a cigar at the bar? The outside live entertainment wasn’t bad, but was really too loud to have a conversation. (No, we’re not old; just don’t want to use our ‘outside voice’ for a conversation.). Needless to say, it was not the relaxing time we anticipated. Won’t be back.
Cori C — Google review
It is a great place to sit around with friends and enjoy a good wine or beer. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. The patio setting was really nice but a little hot, but there was plenty of indoor seating to give relief from the Texas heat. Would recommend.

What a pleasant surprise! On our way home from Mason we stopped in here. It's actually a bbq place but it happened to be Fish Friday and they did not disappoint. The catfish was fried to perfection, slaw was creamy and the fries looked handcut. So very good.

For more than a decade, this eatery has been open and serving food on Thanksgiving Day. The man at the cash register greeted us with a huge smile. Turkey with all the fixings plus dessert $20. Turkey and ham with all the fixings plus dessert $23. They were also serving chopped brisket and pulled pork. I’d get the brisket and ham again. A line out the door at lunchtime.
Auda G — Google review
Wife and I had breakfast. I got the brisket breakfast plate. Wife got Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, cheese and potato burrito. Brisket came shredded, eggs over medium perfectly done, seasoned potatoes and flour tortilla. Super casual place and prices very reasonable. Good overall experience and staff is eager to please. Sorry but I don’t really get other reviewers thinking that a “smoke ring” is the end all be all for good bbq. Everything we ate was very good. Worth all 5 stars.
Jay P — Google review
When your at David's BBQ, you know you are at home in the Hill Country! My order was a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and a side of hot cakes-delicious! The quality was tasted in every bite, the ingredients are prepared fresh daily, and the prices were surprisingly better than some other local options. The atmosphere is great! The welcome upon arrival is genuine and they sincerely appreciate the customer. While I received my order togo, however I wish I had the time to dine in. Whether you need some breakfast taco's togo or have time to dine in-Its worth ever penny spent. Thank you for making breakfast great again!

It was ok they were out of ribs when i got there a little after lunch time so i was a little disappointed with that. Brisket was a little dry for my taste. Cole slaw was great as well as potato salad and jalapeno sausage. Its a small place maybe i just caught them on an off day
James S — Google review
Service was fast and friendly, brisket was moist and almost melt in mouth, ribs were good ( not a fan of spicemix but thats a personal choice ) jalapeno sausage was very good and i should have gotten a full link vs half, the half chicken was delicious. We had bbq sauce on side and it tasted good. We enjoyed and wold visit again.
Ralf T — Google review
I ordered a sliced brisket sandwich. No smoke ring. No smoke aroma. No smoke flavor. Sauce was extremely sweet with a touch of liquid smoke. I was underwhelmed. This isn’t barbecue. That being said, the brisket was extremely tender, juicy and delicious. Adding mayo, black pepper, lettuce and tomato would make it an incredible sandwich. Coleslaw was good.

Mac's BBQ & Catering in Fredericksburg, TX is a popular spot for visitors looking to satisfy their hunger after exploring the town. The restaurant offers a quick and efficient ordering process with an open-plan kitchen. Guests can enjoy flavorful and tender turkey breast, juicy brisket, cheddar jalapeno sausage with a kick, and tasty sides like coleslaw, homemade fries, and corn from the 1/2lb plate option.
We waited a bit, although the bartender saw us waiting at the order window. My friend kept motioning for him to come over. He finally came over and apologized that no one was at the window to help. I loved the brisket because the flavor was great and super tender. The Jalapeño Sausage was great, too. Loved the Charro Beans. The refried Beans were super salty, and the fries tasted so greasy that we didn't eat them. My friend didn't like the potato salad because they put french dressing in it, which a lot of restaurants do. Again, the meat was absolutely amazing. I will go again for the meat and Charro Beans, and the young man who cooked and cut the meat was very pleasant.
Nora P — Google review
We were hungry and this was the first restaurant on Fredricksburg's main street. You have to pick your meal quickly as you approach the open plan kitchen. I tried the 1/2lb plate which has 2 meat &2 sides option. The turkey breast was really flavorful and tender. The brisket had a slight scented aftertaste, nevertheless it was also falling apart and juicy. I recommend the coleslaw, homemade fries and corn. The condiment bar is separately so you can complete your taco dish without rush. The bar is also secluded which makes it easier to come for drinks only. The place fills up fast and two restrooms are, in my opinion, not enough.
Jana M — Google review
Overall, everything was quite average which was really disappointing when we wanted a good meal after a long day of driving. We had to wait 20 minutes in the line to order which I can handle if the food is worth it, but the baked potato was cold, the ribs were tender but over seasoned to where you couldn’t taste the meat and it’s an absolute shame to be using plastic cutlery in 2023. If you want good Texas BBQ, look elsewhere.
Brandi B — Google review
Honestly...3-Stars because of the sides!!! The brisket and jalapeño sausage are good, but the sides were incredible. The brisket was more like a slab of Prime Rib versus Brisket, no real smoke ring and the bark was more like a crust. The sausage was good but seemed to be over seasoned masking the actual pork flavors. The Green Chili Cream Corn and the Green Chili Mac & Cheese were the rock stars of this meal. Both dishes have a little kick and you can taste a hint of jalapeño but not overwhelming. Combining the brisket, sausage, corn, and Mac & Cheese with some BBQ sauce on a tortilla…YUMMY.

4 Star BBQ; 5 Star service. We had chopped brisket sandwiches; sliced brisket sandwich and baked potato with pulled pork. My favorite thing was the green chili mac n cheese ✨
Melanie G — Google review
Sides were average, we tried Mac n cheese, cream corn. Except the fries, they were pretty darn good. The burger is huge, I don’t think any of us were able to finish. Great flavor, the buns were really good too. Patio is cute and shaded.
Danielle M — Google review
Really tasty beef brisket - we loved that! The cheddar jalapeno sausage was good but some bites will have a kick to them. Had the creamed corn which was good but also could be a bit spicy for some folks. The fries were great. Friendly staff and a fun atmosphere. Some people have said prices are higher than they'd like. But you get a good sized portion of food, so consider splitting a meal and you should still have plenty to eat.
Ari A — Google review
Daughter didn't eat the macaroni and cheese, but I thought it tasted OK. Bbq was not good at all, it reminded me of hospital food. Green beans were not the best either. Husband got a chicken sandwich. Chicken was a little dry, but that happens with breasts, so it's understandable. Atmosphere and workers are great, 10/10. Food was just not worth it.

Nestled in a historical building, 78624 The Bar is a classic piano bar and lounge in Fredericksburg that offers an exceptional drinking experience. With its inviting lounge areas adorned with exquisite antiques, as well as a charming courtyard, this establishment stands out. It's the perfect place to unwind and savor fine wines, cocktails, beer, and charcuterie while enjoying live music.
Such a warm environment, and the assortment of drinks is perfect! It’s such a sophisticated and yet cozy bar locals can go to for a little quiet on Main. My favorite drink was the Penicillin! The bartenders are always lovely and welcoming, especially Carlos!

I will say, the atmosphere of this place is absolutely amazing and the drink quality and selection is absolutely fantastic; also my bartender Carlos had an amazing personality and was very knowledgeable about drinks. With that being said, The bartender, Erin, was extremely rude and dismissive, giving me one of the worst attitudes I’ve ever encountered at a bar. I usually enjoy Fredericksburg’s friendly atmosphere, but this was the opposite. Customer service matters, and I hope management addresses this.
Brock M — Google review
This place has the best atmosphere, cocktails and shareables. The bar keep, Carlos was extremely knowledgeable about cocktails, and the nicest “Friend” we’ve ever met. Danielle was a spectacular and very professional waitress that was a delight to interact with. I 100% recommend this spot.

This is an amazing craft cocktail bar! A hidden gem. Authentic mixology bar tenders do craft cocktails to order or from menu. Erin and Carlos are fantastic if you get a chance to talk to them at the bar. Comfy seating, relaxed vibe, nothing crazy. Mature place to enjoy a drink. Images include 2 off menu drinks crafted just for myself and my husband. Carlos even shared the story of the drink's parent recipe. Delicious and highly recommend. Erin even made me a vieux care (an off menu item). These bartenders are true to the craft. Cute patio as well.

“78624 The Bar” is a hidden gem that truly impressed my wife and me. The ambiance is elegant, with stunning oil paintings adorning the limestone walls and a polished handmade wood arch framing the bar. The outdoor lounge is a peaceful oasis, surrounded by red brick, a koi pond, and ample seating. We were delighted by the drink menu. My bourbon old fashioned was perfectly balanced, and my wife raved about the spicy Marfa Sunset. The small bites were delicious and satisfying, and the zingy pretzel was a delightful addition. “78624 The Bar” is a super chic and inviting spot that we'll definitely be returning to. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a stylish and enjoyable evening out, or a mid-day stomping ground. Salute!

Eaker Barbecue is a laid-back smokehouse in Fredericksburg, run by Lance Eaker and his Korean-born wife Boo. Their love for food and barbecue led them to open their first bricks-and-mortar eatery after running a food truck in Houston. The succulent and smoky brisket, ribs, and homemade sausages made with prime cuts are complemented by Boo's Korean sides and sauces.
My husband and I came here for lunch and we were not disappointed!! I love that they offer i door and outdoor seating. Now, the food is DELICIOUS!! The meat was nice and tender. Mac and cheese was DELICIOUS. Not that Kraft crap that I can make at home!! HIGHLY recommend getting your BBQ fix here. Also. The owners are SUPER sweet and approachable.

Wow – this BBQ is excellent and some of the tastiest BBQ we have ever eaten! Eaker is conveniently located on W. Main St. near S. Bowie St. Such a great menu with neat items such Brisket Boudin, Smoked Tallow, Tasty Pork, Slow Smoked Brisket and Boozy Banana Pudding. We had the Smoked Pork Sausage, Cole Slaw, Mac-N-Cheese, Potato Salad and Stuffed Baked potato – all absolutely perfect! You will not leave hungry – that is for sure. The decor is very family-friendly, and they have a large shaded outdoor eating area as well. You can also check out their custom-made smoker pits too. We highly recommend this BBQ and we will be returning this August with our family. Salute!
Michael C — Google review
We loved this place! Excellent BBQ, including some with a Korean twist. We tried the brisket, the gochujang ribs, and the bulgogi sausage. All were terrific. The “moist” brisket was smoked perfectly, nice smoke flavor and smoke ring, and oh so juicy. The Korean ribs and sausage were different, but in a good way. We’re not huge fans of thick sauces on meat, but the ribs worked, super tender, fall off the bone! Grateful for the ample supply of napkins at the table! 😁 We had beans and slaw for side, both delicious! Even the garnishes of pickles and pickled onions were first-class. Very good homemade BBQ sauce too. Super friendly owners and staff. Great meal. Highly recommend!

Bar B Q SO GOOD YOU WILL CRY! These cuts of meats and sides are a masterclass in preperation. The brisket was marbled with perfect amounts of fat that was juicy yet didnt overpower the taste of the meat which was top layered with the crispiest skin. The kimchi rice and potato salad was so delicate and flavorful. Delicious! The bar b q sauce could be eaten on its own it is so good. I have celiacs disease so the gluten free menu and prep of food was done in front of you with top standards.

Oh my goodness! We had a half pound of brisket, 50/50 mix of wet and lean. Delicious! Excellent bbq sauce and it came with pickles, red onions, bread and jalapeños. We also had a link of bulgogi sausage which was as good as the brisket! Cucumber salad was good, but next time I will try the kimchi fried rice. Absolutely worth a stop; we are already planning our next visit.

Friendly staff. Food was pretty damn good! I recommend the Korean ribs. Brisket sandwich was thiccc and juicy. Also had the hill country sausage, kimchi rice, and the mac n cheese. All were delicious. Nice aesthetics and can eat outside.

This is some of the best barbecue I've ever had. I especially like the items that have a Korean flair. The Gochujang ribs are excellent👌. I also loved every sausage they make here. Brisket boudin sausage, beef bulgogi sausage, and I'm not one to like turkey breast but I love it here. This place has been in my backyard for 7 years and I'm glad I finally stopped. I will definitely be back as I want to try everything on the menu 🤠

Pizza Hut is a beloved dining destination that has become synonymous with delicious pizza, wings, and pasta. For many who grew up in the 70s and 80s, it evokes nostalgia as a gathering spot for friends and family—where conversations flowed freely without the interruptions of modern technology. The experience was more than just about food; it was an event filled with laughter, shared moments over coin-operated video games, and the joy of enjoying freshly made meals together.
Excellent waiter who enjoyed serving! We had 15 people (adults and children), and were served good pizza quickly! Not expensive either! Definitely a 5star experience!
Les M — Google review
We were super excited to visit a Pizza Hut of old and remember how great the chain was back in the day. The classic concept kinda works, but you can tell whoever is running this location never experienced it first hand. The outside of the building has the classic look, but the inside just misses the mark. Sure, they've got the classic red cups, booths, and the "stained glass" style lights, but that's where it ends. The inside is kinda empty and dull. There's no corner booths, no salad bar, no fireplace, no jukebox, and no video games. The food was decent, just like any other Pizza Hut express down the street. The service was good, the two guys working were nice, prompt with the food, and helpful. Overall, visiting is worth the stop if you're in the area for wine or other stuff, but don't make the trek for Pizza Hut alone, you'll be disappointed.
Shawn B — Google review
Awesome Classic Pizza Hut with great pizza and fantastic service. Had the stuffed crust and thin crust both were delicious. Dean really took care of us, and we really enjoyed our meal there.
Andrew D — Google review
For many of us who grew up in the 70s and 80s, Pizza Hut holds many memories. It was a place where friends and family met without the distraction of cel phones and the rush to pickup a to-go order. Pizza, coin operated video games and the excitement of it all was an event, not just a place.I traveled an hour to Pizza Hut because the Fredericksburg location is one of only about 20 Pizza Hut Classics. Pizza Hut Classic is a location with the classic architecture restored with vintage styled interior design. Before entering the building, a sign explains the Pizza Hut Classic as a celebration to their heritage. The dining room brings back in focus many childhood memories. The staff was limited but very personable. It had been years since I had been to Pizza Hut but the food was as I remembered it. I enjoyed it a lot more than expected. As I write this, I’m surprised that I am hungry for the flavor beyond nostalgia. I had the meat lover’s pizza. The sausage was particularly good, as were the crisp and chewy crust and pizza sauce. I would probably ask for extra sauce if I make the trip again. Some of the details of the celebration of heritage prevent a great experience from being excellent. They may seem trivial. But it is nostalgia that moved me to go to Pizza Hut after not having been for at least 20 years. It is the details that prevent it from being as immersive as it could be. I would love to see a coin operated vintage game, a reproduction is fine. The classic plastic red cups were replaced by contemporary cups. The carpet was a very utilitarian choice. I don’t remember the original carpet but there are probably a lot of better choices. I would love to see a vintage style menu. In all fairness, they may have them. The only menu they had at this location had been stolen almost 2 months ago on Halloween night. I was disappointed to see TVs on the walls but it is a detail that I understand. Over all, I highly recommend stopping in.

If you're on the hunt for genuine Southern-style comfort food, Lakenvelder Restaurant Bar & Grill in Fredericksburg is a must-visit. This barbecue haven boasts signature dishes like Texas cheesesteak, mesquite-smoked brisket, and baby back ribs that will tantalize your taste buds. The inviting atmosphere and friendly staff create a warm dining experience that feels just right from the moment you step inside.
They pay attention to detail. Scratch-made. Excellent quality...one of the best restaurants in FBG (I've lived here 30 yrs). You're missing out if you don't eat here. I ordered the Lakenvelder burger, and my husband got the Swiss mushroom burger. Both were very tasty. We ordered several desserts to take home to enjoy with our kids. The espresso chocolate cake was the bomb! Keep up the good work... we'll be back soon!

What a great experience! I’m so glad we decided to give Läkenvelder a try. We come to Fredericksburg often and love trying new places. The atmosphere and decor just makes you feel good from the moment you walk in. Glenn provided fantastic service and the food was worth coming back for. So many things we wanted to try. The cocktail menu is inspired but not intimidating; I wanted to try one of each! When it came to food, I ended up with the smoked turkey and my husband had the brisket. Both were juicy and flavorful, perfectly prepared! We’ll be back… maybe tomorrow! 😁

Decent food Had the Fritz Pie (bbq sauce needs to be mixed with the brisket and not on the side-also, meat was not very hot) Cheesesteak Sandwich (from Texas eats) onion rings, and coleslaw was good. Mac and cheese had too much garlic and onion powder-very overwhelming. We will be back to try the smoked burgers. Very decent prices.

Wow. Favorite new brunch place. Great drinks and the stuffed waffles were a revelation. We’ll be back soon.

I fully expect this restaurant to be full the next time we visit Fredericksburg. Today for Saturday lunch there were about 5 tables. Since the location is a block and a half off of the Main Street you have to know about it to find it. The environment is just perfect. The pastries and gelato in showcases as you enter looked amazing. We ordered the hamburger and brisket sandwich. The hamburger was well seasoned and the bun was soft and tasty. The waffle fries were perfect. I was disappointed that they were out of onion rings. We will try those next time. My husband’s comment about the brisket was that it was tender and moist but less smoke flavored than most Texas bbq. They have live music on weekends. And their brunch menu looks delicious. They have nice smelling soap in the bathroom (which is a little detail they prioritized). One detail to note - they have specific breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. I don’t think you can order dinner meals for lunch. My suggestion to the owners - offer ribs on the two meat bbq plate. Even if you have to include an up charge we would pay it. My husband judges bbq by the brisket and ribs. He was disappointed that he couldn’t order both of them on the 2 meat plate.
