Beer hall
German restaurant
Vetter's Alt Heidelberger Brauhaus is a traditional beer hall located in Heidelberg, offering a classic Teutonic atmosphere and serving up draft beers alongside authentic Bavarian fare such as sausages, schnitzels, and pretzels. The restaurant is known for its range of locally brewed ales and lagers, including the famous Vetter 33 ale, which holds the title of the world's strongest beer at 33% alcohol content.
Amazing atmosphere and food with supreme location between the bridge and the cathedral. We tried traditional sausages with sauerkraut and schnitzel with potatoes and sauce. They were very tasty and not too expensive. But I was blown away by their apple strudel with ice cream 😋 Definitely recommend. Staff was friendly and fast.
Ivona J — Google review
We had the goulash soup, fresh salad, beef steak with potatoes, and the veggie lasagna. Everything was delicious and the beer was excellent! Generous portions, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere – highly recommended in Heidelberg.
Delia C — Google review
For such a busy and popular spot, the service was surprisingly quick, efficient and very friendly. Their own local beer is very good, the food was amazing as well. Last but not least- the whole atmosphere inside and outside is top-notch, would be a place to come back any day
Никита О — Google review
Overall a great find. We wanted the typical schnitzel with potatoes and that’s exactly what we got - only the salad on the side was a little too vinegary for my taste. The waitress taking our order was really nice and the order got to our table pretty quick. Would gladly recommend this place. The only downside is that the soft drinks are a bit pricey, although what can you expect from a place that focuses on serving their beer made in house.
Daniel H — Google review
This is a world beer temple-level place. Excellent beer flight. Food looked good, but I didn't try since too early. Atmosphere is perfect German Bierhalle, in summer there's outside seating available.
Sigmund F — Google review
Stopped in for dinner and was not disappointed. Ordered the schnitzel, it came with a salad, fried potatoes and gravy. Everything was fresh and tasty. The employees were friendly and the value was good for the price.

Food tasted good. Portion was very large and filling, so we had a lot of leftovers. Definitely want to come back to try other dishes

Bar
Destille is a popular bar in Heidelberg, known for its lively atmosphere and local drink specialties like Gehangter and Warmer Erpel. The bar is frequented by fitness enthusiasts and offers a vibrant setting where patrons often dance on tables. The floor is strewn with glass shards, prompting contemplation on whether the dancing or the broken glass came first. Visitors can enjoy quick service, great music, and the opportunity to meet new people.
Wandered in one night, fully enjoyed ourselves! Found a seat at bar, staff was awesome! Quick service, no funny business with payments.. great music! If you miss being able to smoke while drinking INDOORS ,this is the place to be. Met a nice gentleman named Michael who spent the evening chatting with us crazy Americans-- felt like he was an old friend 🙂 Had a memorable time here--would definitely go back!
Dee S — Google review
The atmosphere of the bar is the one I could have liked. Unfortunately, the overall evaluation is based on one arrogant and rude male bartender, not to mention overcharging etc.
Gintas S — Google review
Decent place for a one time visit. Smoking is allowed inside. The drinking shots are interesting but they use cheap corn alcohol for them so, not much quality. It can get quite crowded.
Alexandru C — Google review
I’ve already had a bad expreriencie: one guy was messing orund in my table and the bar tender said: it’s my responsabilitie. This guy was super agressive, and I was looking for help but the bartender Said that it was Not his responsability After i Said to him that this guy broke a Glass in Front of us and was confrontative with me.
Moris R — Google review
We came in here for a few drinks have those flaming shots which were not very good they were like spicy or something I don’t even know but they were bad and I would never buy that again. Also, it’s kind of weird because you can’t really chew the lemon rind, so you kinda have to spit that out. The bartenders were cool. We talk to them and they were nice.
Weston H — Google review
It's a nice bar with cheep beer and crazy shots!!!
Thanasis P — Google review
Apparently the best party pub in the town. Must try if you are town. Although the seating arrangement is not that great and on peak hours you won't find a place to sit. But the vibe of the place is on another level. Friendly staff, decent tap beer. If you are not in shots you can try their watermelon shots; you won't regret it.
Abhinav M — Google review
Great place for good beers/cocktails and conversation. Ordered couple of rounds of pilsner, other tables seemed to enjoy the nice looking cocktails they had ordered. There seemed to be quite a few specials on cocktails, beers weren't expensive either. The bartender was happy to speak in english.

If you're looking for a place where you can spend the whole night observing other guests, chatting with the bartender, and trying out different drinks, then JINX Bar & Club in Heidelberg is the spot for you. Open from Thursday to Saturday, this club offers a great selection of drinks including Welde-Pils and Heineken on tap as well as a variety of long drinks and cocktails.
Single floor, great atmosphere. Plays mostly English songs from the charts plus a few classic throwbacks. Shots are cheap and small but overall worth it. It's easy enough to find and is located on a street with a few other night clubs and bars, so if it's not your scene it's easy check out. It does get very cramped but I think that's part of the appeal.
Safi K — Google review
Nice staff and good drinks, enjoyed the music, don't understand so many bad reviews, really nice place
Patrick N — Google review
This place has the most racist security i have ever seen i made a reservation at that bar and they didn’t even let me in with my friends cause we dont speak German
Mohamed A — Google review
Tbh one of the worst experiences I have had in my life. I don’t need much from a club. Just friendly staff, decent people, and oldish music. All this was not provided. Really would not recommend best :)
Alexander R — Google review
Please, noooooo!!!! Today I went this bar and I was rejected to enter ( just because I was alone). They prohibit people to enter, if they are coming alone. I am a medical doctor on my clinical rotation here in Heidelberg, I don’t drink too much… Also, I am dressed very well, I look great and their behavior really deeply offended me. I had all the documents, certificates… I don’t recommend this place for visitors, staff is arrogant and rude. They just rejected me without even apologizing. I have never met such a behavior all over around the word , where I was studying Never ever!
Ana A — Google review
The bouncers at this place won’t let you in even if the place is not full. We went there twice with a group of friends, they let everyone pass but me and another friend and my their answer was just “the place is full” and that we won’t be allowed to enter that whole evening. I don’t recommend this place at all.
Nicolas V — Google review
It really a cool club. I am an international student but my passport has expired and needs to be renewed for the visa. I had to explain to the security guards several times at the gate because i am currently using Aufenthalt as my id. But in all i respect their job and hope they understand black people sometime. I am stuck to jinx and I don't see any other club like it... It's da bomb👑
Abdul K — Google review
The staff of jinx do not allow international people inside. Do not visit this place. You should feel the way we feel.. Its bad, believe me.. Today they threatened us by saying we can do anything to you! We work as well.. But would never be as racist as these people..

The staff are really good people, at least to me. The music is usually good and the vibe is cool
Felipe Á — Google review
A deeply unexpectable experience at this bar. Upon arrival, the staff at the entrance were aggressive and unnecessarily confrontational. What should have been a fun night quickly turned uncomfortable due to their unprofessional and borderline violent behavior. Regardless of any policy, there is never an excuse for being aggressive. They pushed one of our friends who wasn't even provocative or rude I filmed everything and it's available for whoever is in doubt.
Alexandra L — Google review
Sam was a solid bar tender for our group all night. We caught the tail end of a Jazz show and then stuck around for a few more drinks. He let us request music and recommended the sarti spritzer. Thank you for making the night awesome and the drinks were super tasty.
Kelsey M — Google review
The night started well with friendly staff and my song requests being played. However, things went downhill when they began mocking where we were from. It was rude and ruined the experience. I wouldn't recommend this place
Cristina C — Google review
We faced an alarming situation at the entrance!!! Our group of friends, gathered for a bachelor party, attempted to enter together, but only half of us were permitted in. This decision was completely arbitrary, with no explanation offered. The bouncer was extremely rude and aggressive, even pushing one of our friends, who hadn’t provoked him at all or said a word. It was infuriating to witness him showing such blatant disrespect while being ready to admit other people. It seemed like he was simply making decisions on a whim.
Trifon S — Google review
I wouldn't go here again. Aggressive staff, unfriendly attitude, and feels like they can throw anyone out for a bad review. 15.10.25- same same. I was physically molested by the bouncer for telling him Im giving a bad review. Say whatever you want about the review, but to physically assault and grab me without cause is unacceptable. Edit: Tried to go here again with friends months after my first bad experience, but ended up having a similar experience of the staff being incredibly rude and unprofessional. I WILL NOT GO HERE ANYMORE!!!!! LEARN YOUR LESSON FROM ME!

Heidelberg Castle, a 16th-century red sandstone fortress, stands proudly on a hillside overlooking the Altstadt and the Neckar River. Visitors can enjoy guided tours of the castle's interior and marvel at its Renaissance architecture. The castle is accessible via a steep cobbled trail or by taking the Bergbahn cogwheel train from Kornmarkt station.
Heidelberg Castle is an absolute gem! We had a fantastic time exploring its majestic ruins and stunning views over the Valley. The architecture is amazing, and the history is fascinating—definitely a highlight of our trip. We loved wandering the grounds. For the ascent, we suggest taking the cable car; the walk up is picturesque but quite challenging with steep paths. Highly recommend for anyone visiting!
Michael M — Google review
We took the fernicular up and the ticket included entrance to the castle courtyard, big wine barrel and apothecary museum. If those things don't interest you and you don't mind walking a steep incline to get there, you can explore the castle grounds for free - most of the interior is not accessible to visitors, anyway. There's plenty to see outside, including beautiful views of the river and the old town.
Amy T — Google review
Dating back to the 13th century, this castle is impressive and has a unique architectural character compared with other castles. Several sections have been carefully restored, while others are intentionally kept as ruins, which adds to its atmosphere. You can visit a fascinating pharmacy laboratory museum inside, though access to the other interior areas is unfortunately restricted. The grounds include an enormous garden and provide breathtaking views of the city. Entrance fee is 11,00 € for adults. Walking through the castle and soaking up its centuries-old history was an unforgettable experience.
Evren B — Google review
Very beautiful view over the whole city including the hills, the river, and a breathtaking sunset in the horizon. The garden is sooo big and “instagrammable” with many spots for selfies and photos. The castle is not big but has a beautiful winery, restaurant, small museum, beautiful facade, but most importantly an amazing high terrace overlooking the city. The tickets include a ride on the cable tramway taking you all the way to the tip of the mountain. A beautiful ride and nice view.
Ghada N — Google review
Absolutely beautiful place! The views over Heidelberg are stunning, and the castle itself is full of history and charm. Great mix of ruins and restored areas, with lots to explore. A must-see if you’re in the area! The bergbahn is really close by too if you have tickets to go back into altstadt
Jack F — Google review
Bloody gorgeous place. Come when the weather is good and get a brilliant view over Heidelberg. Worth paying for tickets to explore more of the castle if you want the full castle experience. Otherwise an amazing viewpoint surrounded by grand historical ruins and gardens that is easily worth a visit.
Jay L — Google review
Heidelberg is worth the stop. Visit the castle on a tour, very inexpensive. Some of the rooms you get to see on a tour are off limits to the general public. You can walk around on your own too. Don't expect Versailles but enjoy the history and the views. Don't forget to visit the wine barrels. Oh, and there are two stops for the cogtrain, not just one. After the castle: Shopping, eating and engaging architecture are plentiful and convenient along the Hauptstraße/mainstreet.
Errick W — Google review
If your visiting Heidelberg, it is worthwhile to visit this castle. I wish there was more to see. Nevertheless, the view of the city was fantastic. The gardens were tranquil. I found the apothecary museum very fascinating.. the relics from the past were quite interesting.

Drinks are amazing, service is EVEN BETTER. Abdullah, Chris, and Phillip were our waiters, they were very nice, informative. Overall: Amazing view, amazing drinks, amazing staff
Karim A — Google review
We visited for my birthday. Service and staff were amazing, very kind and professional, and the atmosphere was cozy. Unfortunately, the sushi kept falling apart, portions of fish in rolls were very small, the taste was average, and even my cocktail was served warm. Prices are high (25€ per roll), the wasabi tasted cheap, and I even found a mosquito in my soy sauce. Also, unlike many international restaurants, they didn’t offer any complimentary dessert for a birthday, which was disappointing. Overall, great service but food quality did not meet expectations.
Oksana F — Google review
The event was a lot of fun. The food, venue, and staff were truly amazing. The staff was truly amazing, especially the main hostess. Very kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable about their menu and made fantastic recommendations with little information provided by me. However, The music was… well like a “gangsta-lounge-rap”… I wasn’t a big fan of hearing the “n-word” throughout the night, not sure if this is because English is my first language. The only other thing I had issue with- and this is personal as an artist- the paint seemed to be tempura in nature instead of acrylic. It made it harder to achieve solid colors and needed to be layered over and over, and when dried it feels/looks like chalk. I plan on sealing it to hopefully preventing it from flaking. But given this is more of a social event vs an art event, it suffices.
K V — Google review
Their cocktails are the best in Heidelberg and probably Mannheim as well in my opinion. My boyfriend and I was one of the first customers when both Sushi and Bar opened so we can see that the details they used to have back then somehow missing nowadays, probably because of increasing in popularity. However, that doesn’t make anything bad about both places. I always bring my colleagues and even executives from my workplace to have a work reception here which went smoothly except the waiting time. I don’t blame the staffs there because they were crazily busy and it’s crazy to see there were only 2 people serving almost 100 guests overall...that’s obviously beyond human multi-tasking skill to do the best job they can. So, to the owner, please invest more in staffing the waiter/tress. This is to make sure both your customers and your employees satisfaction and happiness.
L. I — Google review
The bar like atmosphere and music is good. Taste of sushi was also nice, but I would not say that it is the e best and the price is quite high according to the taste and quality. However the drink there was really good, although also with quite high price, it is worth the the money.
冰宸寂 — Google review
so disappointed, I used to love this place. Sushi feels like supermarket quality, falls apart. Wasabi tastes like supermarket quality. The worst: the foul and strong body odor of the waiter ruined one dish for me. It should be common sense to shower, wear clean clothes and deodorant when engaging with customers. I hope management gives him feedback, this body smell isn't appropriate anywhere, less in gastronomy. Staff is friendly but distracted and forgetful although the place was almost empty.

Absolutely loved this bar and their beer selection. It was very welcoming and the bartenders were great. We went back both days in Heidelberg and if I lived there I'd definitely be a regular. I liked all their beers but really liked the Painkiller. Can more highly recommend stopping by here.

Very pretty pub. But very disappointing experience. I ordered an apple wine. The bar man poured out of an already opened bottle. The wine was off. When I told the bar man, he just shrugged his shoulder. Won't go there again. There's probably why it's very quiet there on a Sunday afternoon, when everywhere else is busy.

It connects the Neckar River to Neuenheim Old Town and is made of classic red sandstone. The bridge leads to the romantic ruins of an old castle that once served as a heavily fortified Gothic stronghold and later as one of Germany's most magnificent residences. Unfortunately, much of the structure was destroyed during wars in the 17th century and never rebuilt.
The Heidelberg Old Bridge is a charming piece of history connecting the old town with the other side of the Neckar River. Walking across it feels like stepping into a fairy tale—cobblestone paths, beautiful statues (including the famous monkey!), and a postcard-perfect view of the castle above. It’s especially magical at sunrise or sunset. Great spot for photos, a leisurely stroll, or just soaking in the atmosphere of this timeless city.

The old bridge of Heidelberg is one of the most rated tourist attraction and is worth the walk. The bridge is located across the river and overlooking the castle. You need to visit both in the day and in the night to experience the view of the castle. The scenery is really beautiful and picturesque. The walk to the old town surrounded by restaurants me the walk even special.

I am walking on the Old Bridge in Heidelberg. The views are amazing and there are many spots to take photos. The bridge has a beautiful historic charm and you can see the river and the old town from here. It is a perfect place to enjoy a peaceful stroll and capture memories.

The Old Bridge in Heidelberg is simply stunning. Standing on it feels like being right in the middle of all the beauty — the river, the castle above, and the charming old town around you. It’s such a picturesque and peaceful spot, perfect for soaking in the atmosphere of Heidelberg

The Old Bridge in Heidelberg is simply stunning, no matter the weather. I visited on a cloudy, rainy day and it still took my breath away — the views of the Neckar River, the castle on the hill, and the Altstadt are just magical. The bridge itself has so much charm and character, with its stone arches and historic vibe. It’s a perfect spot for a quiet walk, photos, or just taking in the atmosphere of the city. A must-see if you’re in Heidelberg — it really captures the spirit of the place.

This bridge looks good and walking on the also give good view for your eyes. Not crowded. River view is really good from the this bridge. It’s paved with stone. Entrance has big towers that add on to good view. But this only on south side of the bridge. Really worth to visit this bridge. In autumn season will get nice view of castle.

Old Bridge in Heidelberg is a popular tourist spot and a great place for photos, especially near the famous monkey statue. From the bridge, you get beautiful views of the Neckar River. You can enjoy boating on the river or take a walk along the nearby garden on its banks for a relaxing experience.

Located in the heart of Heidelberg's old town, Palmbräu Gasse offers a cozy and traditional setting for enjoying classic German dishes and freshly brewed beer. Situated near the main street amidst historic half-timbered houses at the foot of Heidelberg Castle, this bustling brasserie exudes a rustic charm. The restaurant is known for its generous portions of hearty pork-based meals and efficient service.
A nice place to enjoy authentic German cuisine. The food was tasty had a good quality. The ambience was really good. The service was fast and the staff was friendly. Definitely try the local beer collection. Overall a very nice place to enjoy with friends, family.

Very good choice , especially if you are hungry, tasteful food. the portions were more than enough, referring to food. I can't say the same about desserts. The portions were really very little compared to the price. Nice atmosphere, the waitress polite. Visit it without hesitation
Κικη Τ — Google review
We had high hopes for this restaurant in Heidelberg. It was a bit busy when we arrived, but they still had a table for us, which was nice. The food was good and the ambience was lovely, but unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. Coming from Dubai, where the service is always warm and professional, this felt like a huge contrast. The waitresses were not friendly at all — they seemed uninterested and even a bit rude. It really affected the whole experience. To make things worse, it was summer and they had the heaters turned on, which made it unbearably hot inside — even hotter than the weather outside. And when my friend asked for oyster sauce, the waitress just snapped, “We’re Germans, we don’t have that.” It’s okay if something’s not available, but there’s always a more respectful way to say it. Overall, the food and atmosphere had potential, but the lack of hospitality and poor attitude from the staff made it a disappointing visit.

I loved Everything about this place! Staff very friendly, atmosphere very relaxing and FOOD was great! Great Taste and portion for a reasonable price! I ordered lendchenpfanne and enjoyed a lot! The lemonade was not as I expected but still good enough!

Very good customer service, superb nice food and ambience is perfect. We ate pork knuckles, schnitzel and some kind of dumpling which was interesting in a good way. French onion soup was heartwarming for the cold outside and the hot chocolate is amazing. The staff helped me put the whip cream aside for the hot chocolate and gave our family a seat which was not too near the entrance, so thank you to the manager and friendly staffs. Highly recommended!

Classic beer restaurant with local decoration and hundreds covers to serve. Good variety in menu. Excellent snitsel and knuckle of ham best cooked (slowly) to keep the meat tender. Big ang tasteful plates. Service is pleasant and quick. So, it is a very good and "value for money" choice.

Three of us dropped by this restaurant as we found it cosy from the street. When entered we immediately felt the warm atmosphere where they waiter walked up to us and kindly offered our table. Food was great and price is reasonable.

I enjoyed my supper here. There were a handful of vegetarian options, and that was what made me choose this place over others nearby. I ordered the cheese and onion spaetzel meal which came with a salad. The portion was huge and I could not finish it alone. The service was very polite and attentive. I also liked the old world feel of the stone walls and timber ceiling. I would recommend this place. I might go back to try the flammkuchen.

Nestled in the heart of Heidelberg's vibrant Market Square, the Heiliggeistkirche, or Church of the Holy Spirit, stands as a magnificent testament to Gothic architecture. Dating back to its first mention in 1239 and later expanded by Elector Ruprecht III in 1398, this grand structure has served as both a place of worship and a communal hub for centuries.
If you’re in Heidelberg, the Heiliggeistkirche is an absolute must. From the outside it’s striking—gothic architecture with red sandstone, soaring spires and a baroque roof that really dominates the Altstadt. Inside, it’s calm and atmospheric. There’s a quiet beauty in its simplicity; large high ceilings, stained glass windows, just enough decoration to feel sacred without being overwhelming. Definitely a place to soak in some history, architecture, and quiet — I’d return just to watch light playing through the windows
Jack F — Google review
Really cool architecture and great view from the castle. You can go inside, but we did not have time. No shortage of stuff to see.
Don D — Google review
It’s very big church, most of the church in Germany will be rich with art work. This not the same . Still its construction is good. Not crowded when I visited on Tuesday. Lot of restaurants are close to it. It’s located very close the riverside

Ankit D — Google review
Beautiful church in the middle of the square between Heidelberg Castle and The Old Bridge.
Christopher G — Google review
Spent 45 minutes in quiet reflection of what the cross of Christ means - watching the slowly turning multi-coloured glass cross. The more understated decorum inside the church, with high ceilings and stained glass windows, creates a more engaging atmosphere.
Rob B — Google review
Not really worth going up the tower, unless you have really run out of things to do. Views are lovely, but not as good as from the Philosophenweg.
Joseph T — Google review
Visiting Heiliggeistkirche was nice on the way of the shopping street and marketplace. The light through the stained glass made the whole space calm. I didn’t clim the tower but it’s highly recommended to see the old town and river spread out below. The church isn’t flashy but it carries a quiet beauty that stayed with me long after I left.

Urban Kitchen is a trendy dining spot offering a diverse range of culinary delights in an industrial-chic setting. From burgers, pizzas, and Thai curries to sweet or savory breakfast options, the menu caters to various tastes. The establishment prides itself on its extraordinary offerings, including regional delicacies and international cuisine at (karls) kitchen. Additionally, visitors can indulge in handmade sweets like macarons and pastries from the in-house confectionary.
Their breakfast buffet is top-notch, offering a wide variety of options for non-meat eaters as well. The food quality is excellent, and the service is outstanding. Overall, it’s a fantastic deal. Additionally, the place is very kid friendly.
Doyel B — Google review
We’ve visited this restaurant twice now, and it’s quickly become one of our favorites! The first time we went, we didn’t expect it to be so spacious, but we were pleasantly surprised by how many seats and different areas it offers. The decor and interior design are very beautiful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes dining here very enjoyable. As for the menu, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious. For starters or side dishes, we highly recommend the pizza pockets—they were perfectly prepared, and we enjoyed every single bite. Another standout was the avocado toast, which was flavorful and satisfying. During that first visit, we also discovered they offer a breakfast buffet, which caught our attention immediately. We decided to return specifically to try the breakfast buffet, and it didn’t disappoint. The buffet is available every day, with slightly different hours and pricing. From Monday to Saturday, it runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and costs €11.95. On Sundays, they offer the “Great Urban Sunday Breakfast Buffet,” which runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and costs €17.95. However, the Sunday buffet is so popular that reservations are a must—ideally made one to two weeks in advance. Without a reservation, you’re unlikely to find a spot, especially during peak times. When we finally experienced the Sunday buffet, we were impressed by the variety of dishes available. Although we had expected an even larger selection in a separate area, the options were still excellent, and the quality of the food was top-notch. It was quite busy, as expected, and we noticed that guests without reservations often had to wait or come back another time. Highlights from the buffet included the Frikadelle, which were flavorful and perfectly cooked, as well as the delightful pastry desserts. They offered as well a range of juices, which meant we didn’t need to order anything extra. For families, the restaurant thoughtfully includes a children’s area, so kids can have fun while their parents enjoy the meal nearby. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and we’re already planning to return to try more dishes from their menu. This is definitely a place worth visiting :)

This is a laid-back place that’s well worth a visit. It is modern yet cozy ambiance with seasonal décor and an inviting terrace with a unique urban vibe that immediately puts you at ease. The menu is impressively versatile priced under €30 and offering solid value. The staff are friendly and the service generally attentive. It is a great choice for casual meals.
Earoel K — Google review
I had high expectations after seeing the great reviews, but for me it was just average. The veggie burger was nice, but the pizza was underwhelming and I didn’t enjoy the drinks much. The vibe, however, is beautiful — the space is big enough for groups, and there are also cozy spots for two that are just lovely. Maybe the day I visited they were understaffed, but overall I left a bit disappointed.

Königstuhl, standing at 568 meters, is the highest point in Heidelberg and offers a breathtaking view of the city and the Neckar valley. Accessible via a funicular or by climbing the Himmelsleiter (Ladder to Heaven), this scenic hill also features two special forest paths, Via naturae and the forest adventure trail, offering opportunities for learning and exploration for visitors of all ages.
If you got an extra day for Heidelberg, would recommend it for a nice hike. The view is worth the effort in a sunny day! However, I would not recommend for elderlies as the trail is quite steep. (It’s essentially climbing stairs for one hour).

Nice views from the top but the single panorama ticket I purchased can only be used on the way up, not the way down. I hiked up and was not allowed to ride down, which was not made clear when buying the ticket, it only specified "single".

This is the peak of the trip going up by funicular the whole ride is like 1 hr if you don’t stop at the schloss. The panoramic view is nice and lots of trail to hike and kid playgrounds.

You could enjoy nice evening view from here. There is no lot of attractions but one view is great. I don’t feel it’s worth to take the car to top with 9€. Instead get public bus to there. Walking to there also will be great but not with small kids. You could also enjoy drink there. I didn’t tried any.
Jolly J — Google review
Königstuhl in Heidelberg offers stunning panoramic views of the city and the Neckar River, making it a great spot for nature lovers. Easily accessible by funicular railway, it provides hiking trails, a castle view, and a serene atmosphere. A must-visit for those seeking peace and natural beauty near Heidelberg.
Ahmed G — Google review
We wasted time and money for a view that you can't see the castle from high trees. Long queue that may take up to an hour. I don't understand why they allow empty strollers to board the small, narrow, wooden, slow carriage. A stroller takes up space for four people sitting opposite each other. They should have provided a safe place for strollers and not allowed them to board with us.
Nour H — Google review
You can choose between hiking and Funicular, but I would recommend to do hiking up and funicular down (for you knees but walking back is easier) spectacular views, lots of native lives, it’s enjoyable. Lots of different paths, and it’s up to you depending on your physical strength. The stairs are the hardest ones. When you reach to the top, the view will repay you! There are kiosks selling drinks and snacks as well, and a restaurant, children’s park, and a hotel. At the funicular station, you can see how it works under the funicular and interesting fact about it. It was very nice visit up there!

Zum Seppl is a historic tavern and restaurant located in Heidelberg, Germany. It has a cozy atmosphere with walls adorned with old photos, creating a nostalgic ambiance. The establishment is known for serving hearty German dishes and an array of beer options. Dating back to the end of the 17th century, Zum Seppl is considered one of the oldest student bars in town and was once a well-frequented local brewery.
The most “German” food I had during my whole Germany stay. I got the sauerbraten below, my friends ordered a couple of other dishes like schnitzel and veal, which were also equally as great. Beers are cheap. Someone was playing on the live piano, which was nice and got people singing. The only downside I’d say is there was no circulation up in this whole place! It was cold outside but the restaurant was hot and stuffy!

Great atmosphere and even better food. A bit more pricey, but worth it. They had a piano player and after a while a group of local guys (8 or 9) gathered at a table, bars in hand, and sang along. Fun!

Worth noting that any bookings taken for the summer are then accommodated at Kulturbrauerei just around the corner - this threw us a little when we arrived to find the shutters down! We went here back in September 2024. My boyfriend craved some burgers. We ordered some beer, my boyfriend misheard me and ordered that big glass of beer. We ordered some burgers, obviously. I am not a fan of burgers, but boy, oh boy. I was in for a treat. I don't know if that was the burger or the beer. OLD VIBES CAN COST INCONVENIENCE Max Bar is one of the old bars in Heidelberg Altstadt & it gives you those old skool vibes which feels good. I’ve visited there recently for some pints of beer. I was on my own so sit right at bar but they’ve got outdoor siting as well. This is type of bar in which you ordered one pint & then there are high chances that you ask for repeat (I mean, that’s the inner feeling at that time, sorry if i can’t explain it well). If you’re looking for classic german bars from 19th century, go on you’re right place but please bring some cash with you cuz they don’t accept cards (I also had a same face when i heard it first time), I also just walked in without asking them about payment method & then I’ve to go to nearest cash machine, so was bit awkward. Overall, it was great experience staff was good, service was spot on! Happy Beering 😉

During our visit to your bar on , one of my friends unfortunately got sick near the restroom. While we understand this was unpleasant, the staff's reaction was unnecessarily rude. We were told to clean it ourselves, handed the bill immediately, and asked to leave all in a disrespectful tone. We accept responsibility for the incident, but we believe it could have been handled more professionally. Before you visit this place, be aware that there is a waiter who is rude and does not know how to behave.

Avoid at all costs. Intimidation, assault. I visited Restaurant Mohr in Heidelberg with family. While the evening began without issues, it ended in a deeply disturbing situation. Toward the end of our visit, the restaurant owner suddenly accused us of damaging the card reader, a claim we firmly denied, as we had not mishandled the device, clearly as we both paid using the machine with no issues. Despite our repeated explanations, we were asked to pay over €700, without any proof of damage or a proper invoice. I did not even see the damaged machine. Instead, we were handed a handwritten note on loose paper, listing only an IBAN number and the amount to be paid. Even if the machine was damaged, customers are not liable for damaged restaurant equipment, especially not over 700 EUR. When we questioned this demand, the situation escalated. Three large staff members physically blocked us from leaving the restaurant. After my 60-year-old senior uncle exchanged heated words with them, he was forced to the ground and restrained, with several men holding him down. His partner, a woman, was also pushed to the floor and injured. My partner and I were surrounded and not allowed to exit. We felt extremely unsafe and under pressure. Then, outside, my 60 year old senior uncle was again pushed to the ground by 3 big bouncers. This experience was traumatizing and unacceptable. I’m writing this review to warn others: no guest should ever be treated this way. I strongly advise caution when visiting this establishment.

I visited Restaurant Mohr in Heidelberg with my family. The evening began without any problems but ended in a deeply disturbing and unacceptable situation. Toward the end of our visit, the restaurant owner suddenly accused us of having damaged the card reader, an accusation we firmly denied. In fact, both my uncle and I paid without any issues using the device, clearly showing that it was functioning. Despite our repeated explanations, we were asked to pay over €700, without any proof of damage and without a proper invoice. Instead, we were handed only a handwritten note on loose paper, containing just the owner’s IBAN and the amount to be paid. I did not see a broken device, and there was no evidence, only the owner’s claim. Even if the device had actually been damaged (which we dispute), a guest is not legally obligated to pay for broken equipment belonging to the restaurant. When we questioned this demand, the situation escalated. Three large bouncers actively blocked the exits and prevented us from leaving the premises. After my senior 60-year-old uncle exchanged firm words with them, he was thrown to the ground and restrained by several men. His partner, a woman, was also pushed to the floor and injured. My partner and I were surrounded and also prevented from leaving. We felt extremely unsafe and under pressure. Even after we had exited the restaurant, my uncle was once again pushed to the ground and restrained by the same three men, who stood on him with their feet. This experience was traumatizing, aggressive, and completely unacceptable. I’m writing this review to warn others: No guest should ever be treated this way. I strongly advise extreme caution when visiting this establishment.

Came here for a rock gig, everything was well organised, the sound was good, and everyone was friendly. Well recommended. 🤘

I really liked this club. The music was really loud and a good mix of an older and younger crowed. They also accepted my friends Muttizettel. The lighting was good and the vibes were great!
Montana G — Google review
The location is excellent, though the music could be better. One major issue is the organization: at the entrance there’s always a huge queue, and the guards don’t do anything to separate people who already have online tickets from those still buying on the spot. There are no signs, no guidance, guards seem to just stand there without helping. Another big problem is returning empty bottles. On two separate visits, I was told by the cashier to get back in line, which meant waiting almost 30 minutes each time. For a place that charges premium prices, it’s unacceptable not to have a dedicated counter for returns. I gave it a second chance, but it won’t happen a third time. I also found their wine questionable, after only two small glasses (with plenty of water and even 12 hours of sleep afterward) I ended up with a strong headache, which is unusual for me. That raises doubts about quality. Overall, it’s a nice spot with potential, but without fixing these basic issues, and without treating guests with more consideration, it falls short of what it could be. In short, it feels more focused on money than on quality for people.

Actually a nice location ( 2 rooms ) located nearby the main station. At the entrance you will need to decide which event you will be joining - and you will get a stamp for it which is checked by security staff upon entrance to that room. There is no free re-entrance so once you have left the building you will have to pay again - but as it's not necessary to do so ( toilets and smoking area are reachable without leaving ) this should not be an issue. Staff ( especially the lovely Lina at the bar ) was very friendly. One star deduction as I'd prefer having the chance to enter both events for some better price ... on the weekend this review relates to there was a FSK 25 ( entrance fee 8.00 EUR ) and a Black Latina ( entrance fee 10.00 EUR ) event; joining both would have been 18.00 EUR which I'd consider overpriced then. Update ( 2019-12-14 ): Visited this location again shortly after my first visit for their 90's Party. Vibes were - as expected - good with music, etc ... unfortunately both floors were too packed and a lot of extremely drunk ( mostly very young ) people and hence tons of glass on the floor ( especially nearby the bar and in the passage between the two floors ). I even saw somebody from the 1st floor opening the curtain and throwing an empty bottle on the passage to the 2nd floor - luckily not hitting anybody. Also in the 1st floor somebody ( obviously very drunk also ) fall down a pedestal next to the bar, crashed on the ground and massively poured over the people nearby with his drink; I told the staff at the bar as I was one of the persons who got poured over but she didn't seem to care. I'd highly recommend decreasing the amount of people which are allowed to enter by about 1/5 - entrance fee might be adjusted accordingly and please have security watch the floors better. Due to this night I have to adjust my rating now to 3 stars leaving it unclear if I visit this kind of event again. Update ( 2022-12-17 ): Visited the location again for a Fiesta Reggaeton clubbing night and really liked it - unfortunately the enforced cash less payment ( even the wardrobe ) is quite annoying and likely to be bad for tips as well. No change in my adjusted rating therefore.

A good place to start the night or very rapidly end it 🤣🤣. The only sad thing about this place, is the service! They refused to serve a glass of tap water to someone in front of me and kinda forced her ordering anything for an amount over 3.90€ to give her that glass of TAP WATER. The principal of doing that is already a no go to me.

Amazing service! The bartender helped us pick out multiple shots and advised us on his recommended shots since there is so much choice. I would personally recommend the "schüttler" and the "yolo" shots. Want to revisit Heidelberg and this is one of the reasons!

Bar
Bent Bar in Heidelberg is a cozy and hidden gem, offering a laid-back atmosphere and an array of craft cocktails. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, providing excellent recommendations based on your preferences. The cocktails are made with high-quality alcohol but remain affordable, averaging between 8.50-9.50 euros each. The bar has an excellent cocktail menu and can accommodate custom requests, all within a relaxed and intimate space.
The best cocktail bar in town. They have an excellent cocktail menu and will they are able to advice or even change recipes quickly to cater to your needs. The atmosphere is very relaxed in the tiny space. The bar staff is friendly and always up for a chat about all things cocktails. Can't recommend this place enough if you are into high quality cocktails. The price per cocktail is about 8-9€ which is great value for the quality.

Easily the best cocktail bar in Heidelberg. The prices haven‘t changed since 2020–the bang for your buck is amazing! The recommendations are always on point.

What an amazing experience we had at bent bar. It's a hidden little gem! The staff are amazing and they know what they are doing. They can make recommendations based on what you like and you won't be disappointed! Our bartender was so friendly and informative and his cocktails were so well made. I was shocked at how cheap the cocktails were especially with the high quality alcohol they use. Most cocktails averaged between 8,50 - 9,50 € which is what you pay for mediocre cocktails at a normal restaurant. I was expecting prices of 15€ so I was pleasantly surprised. Presentation is on point and of course the taste is amazing! Highly recommend the pisco sour (the pictured cocktail with the foam). 10/10 recommend! P.S they don't take groups of more than 5 and no bachelor or Bachelorette parties allowed.

Mel's Bar in Heidelberg is known for its lively and fun atmosphere, making it a popular spot for partygoers. The bar offers great drinks, a vibrant dance floor, and up-to-date music. It's considered one of the best options for dancing in the old town with no entry fee and reasonable prices. While it can get crowded at times, the overall experience is highly praised by visitors who appreciate the cool location and friendly staff.
Always a great time there! The security guards take concerns seriously and are very helpful. They create a super safe atmosphere!

Was in Mels last week with some international friends and found the doorman downstairs extremely rude. We had some trouble with our drinks, and needed help, after having ordered there already more than 100 euros of shots. We asked the waitress for help and he mocked us and was extremely rude, basically saying to get the hell out of his face.
Guilherme S — Google review
There's a black security guard who acts as if he owns the whole place, super rude and he's never in the mood, treats customers in an inappropriate way and he's there all the time. So take my advise and don't go to a place they won't respect you. Also sometimes very large group of students come in and create big circles in middle of small-area dance scene, and make it somehow impossible for others to have least space to dance (or even move)- funny is, they don't even order anything, they just invade others' space. This place is an absolute no

Racist! A word I thought I’d never have to use. We were 4 people, 2 men and 2 women. Although we had been there a couple of times. This Saturday the guy standing at the gate didn’t let us in just because we were Indians where he specifically said that ‘its not possible for you’ first I thought its too crowded but I realised that he is letting others go inside just not us. Too bad that German govt is trying best to wipe off the tag they’ve had for years but because of few people who still in think only certain kind of people are ‘allowed’ in, the tag will still remain.

Went with my boyfriend here for a really nice weekend night out, interestingly enough there is a toilet opposite the building which people go in and out of and was amusing to watch. 😂😂 The cocktails were surprisingly good, unfortunately the next day I was quite sick as I drank far too much - I blame it on the irresistible cocktails! Hopefully next time I come I'll be able to exert more self control.

The bar serves premium drinks with house-infused spirits.
This place is wonderful, I really enjoyed it. The octopus appetizer and the pork spare ribs are DELICIOUS! All the dishes had fresh tasting ingredients and excellent presentation. The service is outstanding also, I can't wait to come back. One thing to keep in mind, it is a bit pricey here, and it's not a place to go if youre in a hurry. This is a place to relax and enjoy the experience, plan on being here for a few hours.

Amazing time! We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They took a bit long to serve the food. They apologized of course. We were there on a Monday. Maybe there is less personnel on this day.

The food was excellent! I had the Happy Bowl from the Sushi section of the menu, and it was spot on — easily the best bowl I have had in a long time. Everything I tried (Pulpo, bread selection, filet, spinach, french fries) was really good! The service was nice, friendly and quick. They even asked if the cocktail was alright for my girlfriend and when she said that it contained too much alcohol for her taste, they made us a new one! Thank you, that’s great service. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the bathroom, which felt colder to me than the rest of the restaurant and just did not feel inviting to me. Maybe increase heat and lighting? Also, I would love more vegetarian options on the menu.

Visited on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 7:00 PM – 2 adults and 2 children. The visit started off well. The welcome was smooth, and there was a lovely kids’ corner with coloring activities and drawings, supervised by two friendly women. That was truly a beautiful touch, and we appreciated it. Unfortunately, things went downhill after that. Once we received the menus, we waited 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order — despite the restaurant being far from busy (only 21 tables). I asked the staff about several dishes, but the answer was always, “I don’t know, just check the menu.” When I mentioned that some items were featured on Instagram, he replied, “I don’t know about that either. Just order from the menu.” At that point, I realized I wasn’t in a professional environment, and there was no one to help guide us with our choices. We placed our order for food and drinks. The drinks arrived after 10 minutes. 47 minutes later, the food finally arrived. During the meal, I requested another Coke — which was never brought to the table, even after 30 minutes. After finishing the meal, we waited another 25 minutes for the table to be cleared. I asked for the dessert menu, placed an order, and was told it would take 15–20 minutes. Over 30 minutes passed, and when I followed up, the staff member went to check and came back saying: “Sorry, your order was never placed.” When the bill arrived, I was surprised to see the Coke that was never served had been added to the total. I pointed it out, and only then was the bill corrected. Is this truly a place worth visiting? I’ll leave that for you to decide. With all due respect — I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone who asks. Reservations name (DR. YAQOUB)

This restaurant has a very nice exterior and interior which invites you to a nice dinner. We were 5 people and ordered starters and mains. The starters were quite good, especially the sushi. For a main we ordered a thick cut porterhouse steak with 1.3kg. The way it was prepared was unacceptable, we ordered medium rare and received a well done kind of tough piece of meat. They gave us 50% discount however I found that quite poor as it cost 278€! We will not come back unfortunately, as the kitchen did not convince us and the value for money is not what we expected.

great place, very good service. good wine list. the food was good, but I was expecting better food. Generally, the whole evening was a plus, but the vegetables (addition to the meat) were probably frozen. the meat wasn't exactly as it should be either. I'll come back anyway because I know mistakes can happen. work on the details, overall it was nice. thank you for a nice evening
Jan B — Google review
Went out with 5 people in total, the food was good nothing spectacular. Service was really good, they were polite and payed attention to some small details. One Tipp would have been that they could have cleaned the table once or twice. We did wait really long for the food though, in total 2.5 hours. I don’t know if it was intended but it was two much. the location is nice but don’t sit on the backside on the patio since I stinks like fryer oil. This is the next point, all sushi’s are deep fried and taste a bit hard. The Wagyu wasn’t the highest quality for its price but the steak was cooked perfectly to our ask. Overall we payed 570€ and stayed there for a bit too long. You can try the restaurant once but I wouldn’t recommend making it a habit. Still thank you for the nice evening, even though it was quite long.
Christan L — Google review
The restaurant has a great interior and a cozy atmosphere! ❤️ However the menues were so uncomfortable to handle, way too heavy and totally impractical. The menu itself had a great variety. For starters we got sardines and clams with 2 small pieces of bread and chips (!!) in a can! 🥲 We had sashimi and sushi rolls and they were all very unique! 🤗 Tuna was out so they offered us any type of sashimi we’d wanted. 🤝🏼 The sushi rolls, in my opinion still way too expensive for what you actually get. The food quality was high but the presentation was underwhelming and for 20€+ per roll this was honestly unacceptable. Our waiter was very kind and helpful 😊 But I’m definitely not coming back, the food and the price do not align with each other and for the hype - sadly but simply not worth it.

The Kurpfälzisches Museum, located in the former Morass Mansion on Heidelberg's main pedestrian street, is a prominent art institution founded in 1869. The museum offers contemporary exhibits spread across three floors and encompasses a wide range of art and archaeology focusing on the Palatinate region of Germany.
⭐The diversity of the exhibition is stunning. Surprise after surprise. Fine arts, industrial arts, archaeological finds, maritime technologies, furniture, musical instruments, and so on. ⭐Audio guide available in German, English and Russian. Included in the ticket. ⭐Ticket is at an amazing price of 1.80 euro for Sundays and public holidays. 3 euro on other days. ⭐Bag check is self-service and costs nothing. The lockers require no coins to operate. This is really convenient. ⭐If you love reading about history and art, two hours can be easily passed here without a moment of boredem.

This is honestly a hidden gem of Heidelberg. It looks small but it's bigger than you think. For me the highlights were the archaeological wings. I was not expecting the artifacts related to the cult of Mithras to be there. This should be probably well advertised as there are a lot of Roman Empire enjoyers.

it was a Sunday and we just got into the town and we walked past the museum and I walked in and the person that works behind the cash register was so nice and explained everything to me in English, which I’m always happy that we decided to enjoy the museum and I’m glad we did. The museum has three floors on it. Very interesting art all different kinds of art. Something for everyone nice clean bathroom and they give you free coffee in the gift shop They have a second building and a beautiful garden. They don’t accept credit cards unless it’s a German credit card which I find peculiar only cash It’s definitely worth your visit if you’re in this town.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much the Museum had to offer. The entrance fee was very affordable (3€), which already made the visit feel worthwhile but the museum itself exceeded my expectations. Although the building looks fairly small from the outside, the museum is much larger than it appears and is actually spread across two buildings. Inside, there is a rich variety of historical exhibits, including beautifully preserved furniture, old paintings and a fascinating collection of artifacts. I especially enjoyed learning about the history of Heidelberg Castle and the famous Old Bridge as the museum provides a lot of interesting background information and context (note that most of the information aren’t written in English). Walking through the rooms felt like stepping back in time and the exhibits are well-organized and easy to follow. Whether you’re interested in art, local history or simply enjoy discovering something new, the Kurpfälzisches Museum is definitely worth a visit. Overall, I highly recommend it.

A nice little museum in the Morass palace. I saw some fascinating pieces of wooden furniture and musical instruments. The interactive game with the 3D view of Heidelberd was great! The tickets are very cheap - only 3 euros (including the free audio guide).

Tatjana B — Google review
This was a very disappointing experience from the start. I came all the way cause the reviews were not terrible (neither really good) and I was craving for a good burger. I have far and wide experience in burger places along and across the world and, on picture the burgers seemed one thing and then it ended up being some other. This was some of the worst overall experiences I ever got in Germany and I never thought of it cause the place seemed chill and the first pint of beer was really well poured. But then the waiters, who were sitting on a table beside me literally hanging out with friends which seemed at the beginning a friendly way quickly turned into impolite. They took crazy long to bring a burger that when it finally arrived was completely underwhelming: patties watery and lacking structure, with bacon so overcooked it had turned bitter and blackened. The bread soggy outside and undercooked and burnt on the inside. The flavors felt flat, the texture off, and nothing on the plate suggested care or balance. I don’t even gave a bite to it when I saw it was literally swimming into a puddle or whatever liquid it did sweat, even the bacon was dripping that watery and greasy brown liquid. Service didn’t help—the staff came across as indifferent at best, borderline arrogant at worst, with no real attention to the table or interest in feedback and they were rude to me for no reason. It was so surprising and frustrating, especially after asking properly to change the dish and bring a new one properly cooked they dismissed me and washed me away. The only redeeming factor was the beer—cold, well-poured, and clearly better handled than the food. Otherwise, nothing lived up to the expectations. So I paid for the beer and left the place. Not recommended.

Absolutely recommended for steak and burger lovers. Really huge and juicy burgers. The tastes of most of the burgers were amazing and everyone was satisfied with their orders. The meat was really tender and juicy. I had the double chicken BBQ burger and it was one of its kind I have eaten. The cheese fries were also amazing but we had to rush to eat it as after getting cold it is not that good. The brownies in desert was delicious but the cheese cake was too firm. Only ice creams are also available on the request. The people at service are quick and responsive. The order preparation was also real quick. The ambience is rustic with all those wooden interiors. They do have a see through glass window where you can see the flaming grill every now and then. The card payment is accepted. Overall it was a really good evening spent here. But they do need to fix their toilets. It has an unbearable smell of gutter or however you know a really bad smell. If you have eaten a nice food; and sensitive to smell then you might take all of that out. They really need to fix the smelly toilets.

So far the best burger what I had in Germany. The taste of the burger, fries, coleslaw and also the pancake were 10/10. The place is very nice, clean, the staff is friendly. They have a special burger which is not on the menu, next time I will try that too! Also the place offers a cool "feature", that you can watch how your burger is prepared through a window directly to the kitchen! I wish to this place the best in the future! Kind regards from a burger lover from Slovakia.
Popluhar A — Google review
To be really honest, this place was better... We tried the chicken tender as starters: The breading was good, thin airy and crispy. The chicken itself was not that good as it was not very tender and not seasoned at all. For the main dishes, we took the bbq burger and the bbq pork ribs. The burger was good, the patty tender, well seasoned and thick. The bun were soft and fresh. We had nothing to critisize really. As for the pork ribs, its unfortunately was gave us the impression that the place was better.. The meat was not tender, you had to cut between each rib to be able to eat as the meat was still stiff and a bit dry! The bbq sauce was okay, it rescued the dish. As for the coleslaw and fries on the side, delicious as usual. Dessert: brownies Really big portion for the price, you get 2 brownie slabs with 2 scoops of vanilla icecream and a lot of whipped cream on the side. The brownie was fudgy and rich in taste, the vanilla icecream milky and creamy, i would rather skip on the sprinkles on top as they added an unnecessary crunch to the whole thing

Pancakes are incredibly good as well as any kind of coffee! They put so much love and passion into everything they do, that’s makes a pleasure to be there! If I come back to heidelberg, I will certainly come back! Very much advised for brunch, lunch and breakfast

A cozy cafe with amazing coffee and delicious treats! They use a La Marzocco machine, ensuring top-quality espresso. My long black was bold and smooth, my friend’s cappuccino was perfectly crafted, and the rich chocolate tart was pure indulgence. I’ll definitely be back for the drinks!

We loved everything we had and the waiters asked multiple times if we were enjoying and it’s all fine. It’s a beautiful brunch option I’d say. Prices are 2-3€ above the average for food but worth the calm vibes and kindness.

Ordered: shakshouka with meat, sweet Dutch pancake & earl gray tea = ~40€ (a bit pricey but many positive aspects) Tasty food with the right portions— a bit of a wait but food tasted fresh and could hear the cook in the kitchen working hard to prepare our homemade meal. BEFORE & AFTER photos to prove our satisfaction :) Great service— server with the manbun & beard was super friendly, helpful & attentive. He even offered more bread without us asking. If you’re reading this, I didn’t realize that I didn’t tip— so sorry! Thank you for great service. Great ambiance & location— very cozy furniture with gentle jazz playing softly in the background; in the city center but away from the chaos on the Main Street.

We stopped at this cafe for some refreshing drinks and it was good pick. i had ordered a non alcoholic drink. Forgot the exact name but it was something mimosa i guess. If had grapefruit, johannes berries and tonic water and it was a hand made drink. Not something was mixed from store brought juice. Totally enjoyed my drink. We also tried one craft beer, i liked it as well. They had a good range of cake options, unfortunately we did not know about this, as it is not included in the menu. So it you want to try the cake, better to ask them. Liked their behaviour and the interior as well.

The food was good, but unfortunately the service overshadowed it. We were in a hurry and got up to pay at the counter. The staff asked us to return to our table so they could come to us, which we understood might be their policy. However, when we politely asked if it would be possible to just pay at the counter, the response was unnecessarily curt and dismissive. It wasn’t the rule itself that bothered us, but the tone and attitude. Respectful communication and a bit of flexibility go a long way in hospitality. Sadly, this experience made us forget everything we had liked about the place. I hope they reflect on this feedback so we can recommend them to others.

Cute place, nice service and relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, that doesn’t justify the prices. I paid 6 euros for one slice of carrot cake. In my opinion quite pricey in relations to other cafes in Heidelberg.🙃

Located at 184 Burgundy St, Jil Rooftop Drink&Dine is conveniently just a short walk from the train station, offering a great view of its beer garden. On Friday nights, guests can enjoy live music in the beer garden while savoring the cool vibe and attentive service provided by friendly servers.
We went for drinks here a few nights ago and I asked for a spicy margarita- which wasn't on the menu. I've tried ordering them at a few other bars in Heidelberg with pretty much terrible results. The spicy margaritas at jil were spot-on perfect and delicious. So I came back tonight and had dinner. I ordered the steak, which is imported from a high-end US beef producer. It was on the expensive side, but this was a very high quality (and large) steak. The accompanying vegetables and potatoe were delicious and the presentation was first class. And I had 3 more (one too many lol) of those just-right spicy margaritas. I didn't get the bartenders name, but he asked me if he got it right because nobody ever asks for them, but it was a drink he made at a former job. He might be the only bartender in Heidelberg who knows how to make these. Overall experience was very positive with the vibe, the atmosphere, and the food and drink. I'll be back here on future business visits.

Good cocktails. Expensive priced wines for the quality. These are not high-level wines. Good earning for the business. Cocktails: well made. Also, it was overpriced looking at the volume in the glass. Good business concept. Too pricey. Service, very good.

Wonderful cocktails. Great food. The best view of Heidelberg. We speak English and they gladly helped us with the menu and we amazed at the service and views. Highly recommend for cocktails and a view of the city!

This rooftop dinner was good but expensive for what we experienced. We had the seafood platter and the breaded tomahawk, along with seared tuna. Drinks were good and the view was fantastic! I heard this place really comes to life after the sun sets. We would definitely recommend checking out while in Heidelberg.

Me and my partner had a fantastic evening here today. The ambiance is unbeatable — great views over the city, mellow lighting, and a chill vibe that makes you want to stay. We unfortunately only had time to stay for a few beers but the entire drinks menu was very well priced and offered some amazing sounding drinks! The food menu was the same. Staff were welcoming and gave good recommendations. Service felt polished without being stuffy — the whole package. Definitely a spot I’ll head to again whenever I want something special

Visited Jill Rooftop Drink & Dine with colleagues and was immediately struck by the great view of the city. The rooftop setting felt very open and welcoming, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. They boast a good selection of drinks and tasty appetizers that perfectly complement them. For the main course, I opted for the fillet mignon steak, and I must say, it was cooked to absolute perfection. Overall, we all had a really good time at Jill Rooftop Drink & Dine. It's a fantastic spot in Heidelberg to enjoy good food, drinks, and company with a beautiful cityscape as your backdrop. Definitely worth checking out!

Cute little gem. We came without reservation on a Sunday at 9am when they opened and were seated right away if it's ok to leave at 10am because they have a reservation at 10am. It worked for us. Food and coffee were delicious and fresh! Great service. Great place for breakfast!

Nice brunch spot with good food. Experience somewhat marred by a simple bottle of water. It came out about 15 minutes after our food did so was of no real use to wash any of it down, and cost €5.80. I know they charge for water in Germany but this seems somewhat extortionate for a litre of still water, especially if it comes out when you are about to leave the restaurant. Otherwise great food and nice service. Just a bitter end.

I had a delicious brunch here (Eggs Benedict Malmö & Chai Latte). The service was great and the whole place was just a vibe! Love it! 5/5 ● I went here for a second time on the 16/12/23, and it was not the same. I edited my review because the waitresses were a bit rude. Also, I got the Eggs Benedict with Salmon again, but this time it was mashed together with the cream cheese in a sort of salty sludge, and there seemed to be a lot less salmon. The taste was lacking. Way too salty. Disappointing. I added a photo of the meal both times for comparison.

I went here several times but only to drink something during the day or at night. All the times I was timely served and the staff was very friendly. Once I wanted to check their cake options for the classic German "Kaffee und Kuchen" in the afternoon but the cakes didn't look that nice, really dry. So we didn't even try. I believe you can also eat lunch here but I never had the chance. It is located in a corner near a busy area of the city (people walking but also cars and tram) so it might not be the perfect place to go with kids.

The place has degraded unfortunately. No more ice cold ginger brew with generous ice and fresh mint on a summer evening. Just a pity half-warm little bottle with tiny ice cube that melted in seconds. And a forced half-smile from the waitress. You can do better!

Great flammkuchen, lots of good combination of toppings and very thin and crispy dough under them. The atmosphere is lovely in the square. Aperol sour was also delicious as a nice refreshing summer drink. Service was also very friendly and attentive.

The BEST Flammkuchen in Heidelberg! Amazing bar and great caipirinhas! Pizzas are also very good, but the best is really the Flammkuchen. Great environment in the bar. A place to go during the day to eat (great terrace in summer) and to have a drink at night. A must go in Heidelberg!

We came to watch the football game, there was a full minute delay. Making it impossible to watch the game since there were two other screens 10m further actually showing the game live. When we told the server at half time he just laughed and didn't bother trying to fix it. Next time I'll just go to the MaxBar or Café commun.
William V — Google review
Totally chaotic! We waited over an hour for our food only to find out that they’d run out of certain ingredients and had served our food to another table. When they finally arrived the Flammkuchen were soggy and underwhelming. Although the location on the square is lovely, this place is best avoided.

This bar is in the center of the plaza by the old church. Great for sitting outdoors and watching people pass by. The drinks are always good & the flammkuchen was okay and the cocktails were cheap considering the location.

Was expecting more from the food. Instead of a bowl, I literally got a salad. I can’t name that a bowl. Was not tasty at all. It was very hot! I can’t understand what is the problem to turn on the ac. Half of the area was closed, so you’re not able to sit where you want. Asked for children chair and I was shocked how dirty it was. I tried to wipe it by myself at least, but that was not possible. The WC was very dirty as well.

I’ve never seen anything like this in my whole life!!? Do people in Heidelberg do not care about their business??! I come to this place and ask for a table outside, and the “host” tells me there’s no tables outside when I can see two. He says that there’s only tables for drinking and I ask him: “How Come?” And he answers “cause we only use those for drinks cause they’re so hard to clean!” WOW nothing else to be said. I sat in front of the business writing this review and he come to me and says that he has a table already. Then he gets a lesson about serving people, I told him he should’ve told me to sit no matter what offer me something to drink and then tell me that I should shwitch table. Please local guides, like if you agree with me…
Neko M — Google review
Really good atmosphere. The menu has a lot of vegan and vegetarian options (plenty to choose from). Most of the sauces provided are also suitable for vegans. It can get quite busy sometimes, so service can take a while sometimes, but it is always worth it. The drinks are also very good.
Nadja A — Google review
I’ve tried take-away as well as dining in: Both experiences were good! Personally, I think the prices are a bit steep, but the big selection of different patties and toppings (as well as drinks) does make up for it! Especially the veggie and vegan patties are really, really good. Service was also good and we didn’t have a long wait for the food! Will probably go back for lunch, as they have a lunch special and that seems like a better deal 😋
Rebecca E — Google review
I like the basic but foresty interior but service could be replaced by a tablet, since staff was just around to enter our order into their machine. We asked for recommendations or a drink with a certain base spirit, but the waiter didn't know any recipes for the food/drinks they serve and could just enter everything into the ordering machine. Especially since they push the natural feel with their interior the mechanic and ordering machine based staff approach seems odd. Food was decent but for the price you can get better burgers elsewhere. One upside is the flexibility and variety of patties and vegan/vegetarian options. Overall ok experience but feel like they can improve in terms of staff and overall feel of service.

Great atmosphere, people are really friendly and open minded. The „young and old“ celebrate here together 4/5 Stars. Very original bar in Heidelberg, a classic location, maybe even a must see of the Heidelberg old town! People smoke cigarettes there though-which is not for everyone of course… Still a comfy bar!

Great company, good selection of wine for just a few euros per glass! It seemed to be an "older" scene, with most of the college aged youth opting for the bar across the street, but that being said we weren't barred from entry and had a great time. The only downside is that it is a smoking friendly bar and the smell stays with you hours after you've left.

The menu offers delicious German dishes such as Flammkuchen and Kartoffelsalat with sausages, which are highly recommended. This local spot is popular among philosophy students and leftists in Heidelberg, featuring rock music and a charismatic ambiance.
We stumbled upon Vater Rhein when we were walking along the banks of the Neckar River. It is a small pocket friendly bar with nice out door seating and a very friendly hostess. We tried their Flammkuchen (German flat bread similar to pizza) and Kartoffelsalat with sausages (potato salad). Both the dishes were amazing. Flammkuchen was so light and tasty that we ended up ordering two. The hostess was so hospitable and friendly. She was patiently explaining to us about the dishes in English understanding that we don't speak German. The prices were so affordable and the food was tasty. Definitely a thumbs up!

Really great restaurant. No big fuss, but you feel like you've been transported to another century. The old tables with ancient names round off the loving and courteous service. Florian E — Google review
Very nice place to sit, helpful personnel, English not the strongest, but good enough for me to understand and get a nice dinner here. Low prices, wide variety, including dishes from Greece. I gave 5 stars, but if I could give 4.5, I would. The main down point is that the quality of the food is not excellent or anything, but given the prize you pay for it, it's in very good balance, hence the 4.5.

Went to this lovely restaurant last night (15/02/19) with a friend that lives in the neighbourhood. The beautiful waitress welcomed us with a lovely smile and recommended us some specialities. The food was outstanding and the place lovely. Definitely will go again on my next visit to Heidelberg. Highly recommended.

This charming restaurant boasts an impressive array of dishes that cater to various tastes, including options for vegans, although vegan items aren't explicitly listed on the menu. The ambiance is inviting and the staff are known for their friendliness, making it a delightful spot to relax.
This cafe is in a great location in the center of Heidelberg with a friendly and polite staff. They offer a good selection of coffee and breakfast options. We ordered the basic pancake, hot chocolate, cream coffee, and milk coffee. Everything was delicious except for the hot chocolate, which was just okay. The prices were reasonable, and overall, this cafe is highly recommended.

Lovely cafe for a quick bite and some delicious coffee. We ordered a matcha latte and cappuccino both in almond milk! Very delicious and perfectly strong. For a quick bite we order the schoki pancakes, doused in chocolate , Nutella and banana. Absolutely delicious. They also have upstairs seating with a gorgeous outdoor view.

Stopped by for a quick bite. The smash burgers were really good and the potato wedges made a fantastic addition to a good meal. The cocktails were tasty try the Sauer sakti (i think).

Café Nokta a small Café located on the bustling Hauptstrasse of Heidelberg City serves Toast, Pancakes, Coffee and Tea. We enjoyed hot delicious Tea with cookies sitting out after a tired walk up the castle in October 2024. The staff are friendly, helpful and great.

Best brunch place in town! Large selection of sandwiches, pancakes and much more. Their brioche steak sandwich is the real bomb, although I would recommend them to only use 1 slice of brioche bread. The employees were very nice & the place looked clean and modern. I can also highly recommend trying their chocolate coffee, it's delicious!
Julien W — Google review
Amazing food. Good location. Didn’t quite enjoy the matcha milk. Brioche saloon egg was delicious - the salmon was fresh and they were not stingy with the salmon at all!!!
Sonia N — Google review
We came here based on reviews. The staff were friendly and the space was lovely. I had dalgona coffee with oat milk and it was delicious! The brisket, kimchi, and egg brioche was okay. There was a generous amount of brisket but it was dry, the eff was fairly overcooked, the kimchi was good, and the brioche was the best part. My friend had the grilled avocado sandwich which she liked and the matcha latte was okay. Its a narrow space, I recommend sitting upstairs as there is more room. Tables on the first floor seemed pretty cramped as I’m the space is also shared with the kitchen and barista station.

Had a hankering for some pancakes so I was happy to find this place. Location is great. The food was good. However the service was inattentive. My original waitress disappeared. I had ordered a cappuccino that I never received so I asked one of the other waitresses and she said she'd check on it. Well now I was finished with my meal and still no coffee. Finally after waiting at least 10 minutes I am brought the bill, with the cappuccino I never received. He leaves to fix it. After almost another 10 minutes I finally went inside so I could finally pay! Needless to say very disappointing. They could have at least offered my cappuccino to go. Shame since the food was good but I doubt I'll go back.

15 High Restaurant & Bar offers a wonderful dining experience with a spacious layout and a North American vibe. The restaurant provides an extensive cocktail selection at the bar and a delicious three-course menu in the dining area. The staff is described as young, warm, and friendly, ensuring impeccable service. Guests appreciate the attention to detail, including catering to food intolerances. The atmosphere is perfect for enjoying drinks while watching the sunset over the city.
I recently dined here, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The food was exceptional, offering incredible flavors and impeccable presentation. Despite the slightly higher price range, the quality and portion sizes made it worth every penny. The service, particularly from Emanuel, was top-notch. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent wine recommendations that perfectly complemented our meal. While the bar service was a bit slow, with some inconsistency in the timing and preparation of appetizers and cocktails, it's understandable given the restaurant's recent opening and new staff. However, this didn't overshadow the overall experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend it for anyone in Heidelberg looking for a memorable dining experience. The amazing food, great value for money, and exceptional service from Emanuel make it a must-visit.

Tuna tartar was very good, the mushroom soup was also very tasty. I had chef’s choice of fish and seafood, they were good but nothing too impressive for the price we are paying. (The side dishes were fine but I don’t know how they were chosen?) I didn’t like the desserts. The Tiramisu was like an innovative version of what we usually get, but it was too dense and had a mousse texture. I don’t get the concept and it didn’t taste good. And the desserts were served to the wrong person at our table. Service is rather slow towards the second half of our meal. I feel the restaurant is generally understaffed. There’s not too much night view in that area so I personally really wouldn’t pay extra for guaranteed seats by the window. You can find lobster and oysters on the menu. Vegetarian options are also available.
Zhiqian ( — Google review
Great view, good service. Very suitable for business dinner. Starters are good flavored and presented, we ordered tuna and beef tartare, both good. Main dishes have big portions (except duck), normal taste with high price.
Q.C. Z — Google review
Restaurant was reserved full so we ate at the bar area. The view was nice, server was pleasant, but the food was not so good. Asked for a well done burger and it was nearly raw inside. Asked for them to cook it more, came back nearly the same. Not edible. Very expensive. Crab cake was just ok but tiny and 9€ for 1. I don't mind paying more for quality food but this was not.
Kathy J — Google review
My wife and I went here for a celebration, we left highly disappointed. The atmosphere is great, cocktails were very good but the food and service were really disappointing. The staff try their best but there was not enough of them and they are not particularly attentive. However the food was the biggest disappointment. We both had the fish platter with the chefs choice of sides. The fish and sides came out cold and to be honest the chefs choice sides looked more like the ones that they had too many off rather than ones that were chosen to match the main. They did acknowledge their mistake and gave us the starters for free but it still cost €200 which it was very far from worth. I just couldn’t recommend this place

Nice atmosphere inside and outside, cozy. Table for 2 should be a bit bigger. Expectation was to have fine dining, but food was like in average restaurant with higher prices and not really tasty. Staff was nice and friendly.

Delightful cafe. The espresso martini and the cherry cake were out of this world. Really good service and an outdoor area to hang with the locals make this place very charming and inviting. The ambiance was very nice, in a quiet plaza in a central location in Heidelberg. But the food this time was very bland and unimpressive. I'm still unsure about serving the sardines directly on the tin with a side of toast. And the hummus and the beans salad were both lacking seasoning.

This was the third stop of the night before going partying. We were in the bar section and it has a very cool vibe...large, nice painting of old men playing catds and smoking cigars. There’s also a DJ playing cool beats. The women’s toilet is huge and fancy but not very practical since there’s only one big stall which means longer waiting times. I ordered a mojito and it took forever to arrive. There are 3 bartenders serving drinks and although they were busy doing their job and working very hard, it would be nice if they smiled and engaged a little bit with the customers.
Thavyness — Google review
I was regular customer at this place .. last two time the bartender told me we will close 1 houre earlier because we have only you in the bar.. i was surprised at the beginning.. just before I requested my check two more customers came to the place.. i told him now how much time we have ? He said one more hour.. i said ok can i get a cigar ? He refused because the one hour left not enough to finish a cigar !!!!! This guy can work anything but any job related to hospitality .. the night before i was tipping him 15% but still the guy treat customers like garbage.. i will not come again

The chairs and tables are positioned as far as possible so that each guest sits separately and can enjoy their drink undisturbed. The space that is given to the guests and the quiet atmosphere is relaxing and gives you the opportunity to simply unwind with a good drink. (Original) Pino‘s Bar ist eine sehr einzigartige Bar. Während viele Bars auf Platzeffizienz und möglichst vielen Sitzgelegenheiten achten, ist dies hier nicht der Fall.
