Situated in the heart of Torquay, The Imperial Torquay is a clifftop hotel offering airy rooms and a range of amenities. Guests can enjoy spa services, fitness facilities, and dining with stunning sea views. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of attractions such as Living Coasts Zoo and Inner Harbour Marina. Nature lovers will appreciate its proximity to natural sights like Oddicombe Shingle Beach, Kents Cavern prehistoric caves, and Beacon Cove.
My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Imperial. The room was very spacious and the view over the Bay from the balcony stunning. We even saw a dolphin quite close by in the Bay. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely return.

Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. The room felt outdated, with a strong smell from dirty carpets and a balcony that was not clean. Hallways were also stained and unpleasant. While the bed was comfortable and the view beautiful, the extra bed for our daughter was too low and placed directly on the dirty carpet, which made it hard to enjoy the stay. The restaurant was another letdown — my birthday dinner was confusing, the menu unclear, and we were overcharged due to mistakes on the bill. Service was slow and the staff seemed lost, while the food quality, especially the steak, did not justify the high prices. The minimum two-course policy felt forced. Breakfast offered variety but lacked quality. The pool and changing areas were unclean, and overall the hotel felt like it had not been properly cared for in decades. Reception staff tried to appear professional but came across awkward, and when we left a day early we weren’t allowed to get a refund for the unused night. This place may have been beautiful years ago, but now it desperately needs renovation and better management. Sadly, we wouldn’t return.

We booked last minute due to a change of plans. The hotel gave is a very spacious room on the ground floor, area designated to dogs. It was great, we had a little private patio with direct access to a large garden with views of the bay, it was really nice. At breakfast, since dogs are not accepted in the restaurant, we seat in the bar area, it was great, all for us. Some areas if the hotel are a bit dated but overall is good. The bed was super king and comfortable.

Beautiful old girl of a hotel and an absolute icon. Sadly really showing it’s age and in places it’s beyond tired and close to exhausted. Must be a massive undertaking for the owners to try and keep it going. Restaurant and food is exceptional in a setting that’s hard to beat. Would be great to see this lovely grand hotel back to its former glory. Food……. exceptional Rooms…..tired Staff lovely. Room staff exceptionally helpful. Overall it still has a little bit of shine left. R

We reserved a 3 PM Agatha Christie themed tea. Lovely hotel inside, lovely view from the sunroom. Although our table was reserved, we didn’t have the appropriate settings for three. The food was mediocre, although the tea itself was delicious. The server was inattentive and not very knowledgeable, it seemed. We also noted an elderly, frail gentleman at another table, hoping to get service. But, when we checked at the bar, they said they don’t do table service. They weren’t even willing to go and talk to him, although we mentioned how frail he seemed and he was obviously resident at the hotel. Also, music was supposed to be heard during our tea. There was none, although there was a pianist slumped over the piano when we first went in. Very disappointing and I would not encourage the organizers of the Agatha Christie festival to recommend this venue again. at least, not until they make some major changes.

The location is fantastic. What amazing views from the hotel room balcony. The rooms themselves are looking a bit tired these days and the lack of useful power outlets and air con are likely to annoy people (bring a long charger!). It's worth noting that housekeeping do an absolutely amazing job and the rooms are extremely clean and tidy. We went during a heatwave and the lack of a light sheet and/or fan was a bit annoying. Luckily we could throw the balcony door wide open after dark which brought the room down to a sleepable temperature.
Will S — Google review
We went to have a meal and they offered us still water, which we thought was free but they actually charged us 4.50 for it.. and they forced us to have two courses which then cost us another 35 when we only wanted one course each. Would not go here again. They also charged us for grey goose vodka when we asked for absolut vodka… good service just not very clear at all
Raya A — Google review
What a superb stay. Around 30 of us descended on the The Imperial for a big birthday party which was being held locally. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it and personally I found the rooms, decor and service exceptional. The sea view has got to be one of the best in the world on a sunny day. Worth every single penny in opting for this. The breakfast is great value and worth having for sure. The outside needs some fresh paint (it would make a big difference) and it's a real shame the outside pool was closed but at the cost of the stay it still makes for 5 stars in terms of value. A special mention to Amy on Reception, she went above and beyond to organise a late night bar for us at short notice. Impressive service and a credit to the hotel.

Nestled in the charming seaside town of Torquay, Lincombe Hall Hotel & Spa - Just for Adults offers a serene escape just moments from the vibrant marina and bustling center. This elegant hotel features both indoor and outdoor pools, perfect for relaxation throughout the year. Guests can unwind at the luxurious spa, which boasts an impressive array of facilities including a 15-meter lap pool, hydrotherapy options, steam room, sauna, and various treatment rooms dedicated to beauty therapies.
This is a lovely spa hotel within walking distance of Torquay harbour and marina. It’s up a steep hill though but the view from the terrace is good. There is a brasserie serving small plates and main meals. These are excellent quality although the menu is relatively small. The spa has excellent facilities and offers treatments which are discounted if you are a resident in the hotel. Our room was a good size with air con. There en suite was spacious with a bath and walk in shower. The bed was large with quality covers and was very comfortable. Staff were all more than helpful and we enjoyed our stay immensely.
Jez B — Google review
Very disappointed for the price we paid. Room was dated / old and in need of some TLC, didn’t feel “luxury” at all, especially the shower. No room service available. Staff were pleasant. Food was good, so that was a plus. Felt like the menu needed more healthy/light options. Afternoon tea was nice but needed more savoury options in my opinion, felt like sweets outweighed savoury. We had 2x treatments each which were both good, no complaints here other than we were sat waiting in an unattended spa reception for a long time with no information/welcome. Spa was clean and well appointed but quite small and pool not big enough for lots of people to effectively swim. It was ok. However considering we visited specifically for a spa break we weren’t blown away. Bed was too hard for me and I personally didn’t sleep well at all and woke up feeling groggy and tired rather than refreshed and relaxed. Overall, didn’t feel like we got value for money considering other spa breaks where we have paid the same price and had a much better experience. Also had to pay £15 per night for parking which is a complete rip off given we were guests. Wont be returning.

Lovely hotel and we had a great stay. The spa was beautiful, with a great variety of experiences - sauna, steam room, ice room, etc. Great location, 5 minute walk to the quay front. Found the room and bathroom quite small, and the bed comfort was average. Drinks were quite pricey but I guess that's to be expected at a spa hotel! Overall a great stay and would stay here again.

An exceptionally beautiful hotel with exceptionally professional staff. I can not fault a single thing about our stay here. The room is spacious, well designed and extremely comfortable. The level of service is first rate and the food is head and shoulders above anything you will find in the town. I am amazed at the price point for what you get. My partner and I will be making this place a annual retreat from now on. I know an have already said it above, but the staff are amazing.
The L — Google review
Visited Lincombe Hall for a spa day and couldn't fault the welcome, the spa itself and the food and service through out. Thanks to Harry in the restaurant, the chef who has created some amazing dishes and also to Stephanie in the spa. Everyone is very welcoming, polite and discreet. Location good too with parking.

Two of stayed for 4 nights during the heatwave in August. Great location only 10 mins walk from the harbour and everything that Torquay has to offer (unfortunately as with most of Torquay walk home was up a very steep hill) Lovely large grassed outside space with plenty of sun loungers to soak up the sun with wonderful views over Torquay. Public area were tastefully decorated and being adults only had a restful sophisticated atmosphere. Rooms were a good size , comfortable and quiet with excellent shower. The icing on the cake was an extensive Spa!

The most fabulous 3 nights. Excellent breakfast and superb dinner. The mussels were delicious and service was faultless. Spa is a wonderful experience with different sauna/ salt/ chills rooms. Thank you.

This is fabulous hotel & Spa. We were having such a nice time we decided to stay an extra day. The staff are helpful & happy. The spa was so great. I had a facial which was the best ever. If we ever go back to Torquay we will stay here.

This upscale hotel offers a range of amenities including an indoor pool, fitness center, and spa for massages and body treatments. The spacious rooms are well-equipped with modern conveniences and complimentary refreshments.
Great location, very warm welcome from Amelia. All staff friendly but professional. Exceptionally clean - our room had very high quality furniture. Breakfast was superb and the pool/sauna/steam room and gym were excellent. Phil was doing a sterling job there and was obviously very proud of the high standards.

My wife and I stayed here for a night and were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was exceptionally clean, and the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. A special mention to the waiter, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding—especially the steak, which was cooked to absolute perfection. We would definitely recommend this hotel!
Mathew H — Google review
We recently held a small family gathering at the Belgrave Sands Hotel to celebrate the life of my late father, arranging to have a light finger buffet for guests. All of the staff showed a high level of professionalism with a caring and understanding approach to our event. In particular, Tom was brilliant at ensuring the food arrived when needed and just quietly being visible to help with any issues - of which there were none! Chloe (from the reception/events team) was a great initial point of contact and remained in touch throughout the process of organisation. The food was amazing, with the lemon tartlets going down a storm with all our guests, and we were all made to feel welcome and part of the hotel throughout the afternoon. Thank you for your care and attentive manner to helping to ensure our 'after-party' went smoothly on a difficult day.

We live locally and my partner bought me a spa gift voucher - we've had the most wonderful day celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. The receptionist was super friendly and informative, Carol the masseuse was amazing. The pool, sauna and steam room was perfect. We then had lunch on the terrace which exceeded our expectations and was delicious. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, cannot recommend enough for anyone wanting the most relaxing and care free day.
Monthedivision — Google review
Nice from the outside but shockingly bad inside, room was just so so clean. Food tasteless and rushed. Staff were ok but you could see they wasn't happy working there, staff had to eat by the bins on their breaks, how unhygienic is that. So called managers were rude and had no customer services etiquette. Far better places in Torquay.

Big size room with everything you need. Coffee and tea in room with mini fridge. Good size t.v. fantastic Good sleep. Bathroom. Good size brilliant shower. Breakfast fantastic. I wood stay here again.

A very nice and clean hotel, the room was wonderful. Plus you can enjoy the pool and sauna. I definitely recommend the hotel.

Spa and sauna are free to use in hotel. Location is perfect. Close to sea front and about 10 mins walk from train station. Also close to bus station for Kents Cavern, Babbicombe model village and Paignton Zoo. Breakfast is fantastic. Cereal, fruits and pastry in buffet style and you can also order from the menu. There are around 10 options including full English breakfast, egg benedict, American pancakes etc. All of them are delicious and fresh. They also provide lunch and dinner but that's not included. I had dinner there and the food was superb with live music by pianist and singer. Room and bathroom are clean with Rituals products. Bed is comfortable. Staff are also nice.

The Grand Hotel offers classic seafront accommodations with elegant dining and fitness facilities. Whether it's a casual party or an elegant wedding, the hotel provides mouth-watering finger buffet catering at local venues like Torre Abbey. The hotel is located near excellent shops, art galleries, and the marina, offering guests a variety of shopping options. However, parking can be challenging during peak times, so it's advisable to plan ahead.
I first stayed at The Grand Hotel in March 2025 and loved it so much, I returned in April! 🤣 It’s ideally located right next to Torquay train station, which makes it super convenient if you’re arriving by rail. That said, it’s a bit of a walk from the coach station – something to bear in mind if you’re coming in that way. From the outside, the building shows a bit of age, but don’t be fooled – inside is charming and well-kept. One of the real highlights is the Compass Bar, with a stunning compass on the ceiling and breathtaking views of the sea. I spent quite a bit of time there just taking it all in. The front desk staff were lovely – very friendly and welcoming. On my second visit, they even remembered me, which was such a nice touch and made me feel genuinely valued. During my first stay, I booked a sea view room with breakfast included, and I was completely blown away. The room was beautifully decorated – I especially liked the cute wallpaper – and the view of the sea was absolutely mesmerising. The bathroom was clean and functional, though it could do with a little TLC. I don’t usually spend much time in the room while travelling, but on this occasion, I found myself enjoying a drink while watching the waves roll in – bliss! On my second stay, I was given a more compact room at the back of the building, and to my surprise, I actually found it even more comfortable. It was perfectly quiet, with no neighbouring rooms, which made it a really peaceful retreat. I also treated myself to their afternoon tea as well as a quick cream tea by the outdoor pool – the scones and clotted cream were absolutely delicious, and the setting was just lovely. The hotel also has an indoor pool, which I didn’t use on this trip but will definitely try next time. All in all, The Grand Hotel has become a firm favourite of mine. It offers beautiful views, great service, and plenty of charm – I’m already looking forward to my next visit! 💕
Lufu D — Google review
The room was large and comfortable enough. There was dog food from previous guest that we had to ask to be removed two or three times. The staff were friendly enough on reception, but the bar staff seemed a little inattentive and could be easy to feel ignored. Breakfast was nice but felt a little repetitive after a week, but it was freshly prepared. We would stay again if we were to visit Torquay again and we would recommend.
Maxwell A — Google review
Very pleasant staff, very helpful the over all impression when you enter is that it is well kept however this is the first impression from the reception. Staff uniforms could be good to be updated or at least look new, one lady waiting tables had ladders up her tights every morning at breakfast. The indoor pool had grime all around the edge and they had painted over the original tiles to make it feel clean but it wasn’t. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel and staff needs to get some love and attention it would be a shame not to care about this place
Claire C — Google review
Lovely hotel with very polite and helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely! Room was clean and a lovely comfy bed & pillows. Taking into account the age of the hotel it's in good condition with the odd updating here and there. Would definitely stay again.
Ali A — Google review
I find no pleasure in writing a relatively negative review. However - sometimes, I believe it is called for! Firstly - I acknowledge the positive/favourable reviews. But this is a personal judgement based on MY experience. We decided to treat ourselves to a Suite - pricey, but we thought we deserved it! What an expensive mistake! It was, to be sure, spacious, with 2 reasonably sized bedrooms - and two bathrooms - very nice! But it was, otherwise, bland and characterless. Some of the furniture appeared shabby and tired. Our suite was named after one of my favourite composers - Edward Elgar - personally, I think it insulted him!! The evening meals ranged from good to dreadful - I had a steak that would have been better off on the sole of my shoe. We felt cheated and, VERY let down. Quite frankly, I felt as though I'd been "ripped off". Some treat!!!! On the plus side - and to be fair - most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, but, at times, there didn't seem to be enough of them. We will NEVER go back there! I only wish we could have been as satisfied as those who have been kinder, and, more positive. We left a day early, because we'd had enough. However - we had to pay for the full extent of the booking. It had to be honoured - but it hurt!
Gordon T — Google review
We were very excited about trip to the beach however our room was not cleaned properly and the swimming pool changing rooms were a disaster. Toilet roll everywhere and chewing gum in the sowers. I reported it to reception, saying they clean it everyday but the following morning it was still in the same state! To add to this the following morning a maintenance man tried to come in our room unannounced saying there was leak. I wouldn’t have minded a phone call but we were fast asleep which was a surprise! I have to say the dining room dinner was very good however and the only good about the place. I reported the room to the manager and had no review. I would definitely recommend doing an Airbnb instead until they improve their standards!
Helena W — Google review
Located right by the beach (across a main road) in Torquay, right by the station. Great spot. But so is premier inn, which would have been cheaper than this. Our room had so many different slanty walls that sitting in the bathroom legitimately started making me feel dizzy. The room was tiny, no actual space to move. It was insanely hot, with only a tiny fan to help out. It was a very hot weekend, but the lack of air con was very problematic, for a predominantly summer destination. The shower curtain was mouldy. We had to ask for a hair drier since the attachment for one was in the room, but not an actual hair drier. We had rung down to reception. It arrived a few hours later. We were woken at 7am by the shattering sounds of all the glass recycling being dumped into a truck outside our window that was lovely. Dinner was lovely and acceptably priced and the service staff were also lovely, no issues. We did not use the swimming pools/gym/spa so no comment there. All in all, I'd have rather spent less to go to the premier Inn across the road which would be consistent rooms, not mouldy, and have air con. This was a good example of why "local" seaside hotels are struggling. There's nothing Grand about this hotel.

Been here twice now! Rooms are nice, they need a bit of TLC. Very old fashioned but good value for money. Bar staffing needs looking at, more interested in talking to themselves than working.

TLH Victoria Hotel is a classic resort hotel located in Torquay, offering nightly entertainment and various activities for kids. The hotel features a spa with massages, body treatments, and facials, as well as 2 indoor swimming pools, a sauna, and a fitness center. Guests have praised the fantastic spa and pool area, particularly highlighting the Aztec swimming pool as excellent for both adults and kids. Additionally, the hotel offers a wellness center with a seasonal outdoor pool available for additional fees.
Excellent experience. Staff member on reception could be more enthusiastic youngish girl with brown hair, wasn't welcoming at all. Other receptionists were great. Food very good although more pastires should be on offer for breakfast. Lovely apartments, not cleaned every day tho. Excellent hotel lots of facilities. Fabulous hotel evening entertainment. Thanks for the stay.

In general this hotel is great. I will recommend visiting. It's close to the beach, 5 min walk. They have many different foods to choose from, we didn't eat there but we saw the menus. The beds are so comfy OMG so comfy! I was in love with the beds. My room was big, very nice, clean and with great view. My friends had the same experience with their rooms, big nice beds, comfy mattresses and nice rooms with plenty of space. Toilets in the room are good, big with all necessary toiletries (blue gel to wash body, hair and all in general). Big plus that they have a pool there. Disliked · I hate it that they have so many pools and not even one pool design just for the kids and another one just for the adults. We been there few days, each time we went to use pool/sauna/jacuzzi there were kids under 10 using it, all the time you could hear screaming kids, playing around, arguing with each other sooo annoying, can't rest properly. Not even that, but they were jumping to the pool even when they saw signs that they were not supposed to jump... so many ppl swimming, this just not end well one day, no one told them nothing...

Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. The moment you walk in, it’s so dark, unwelcoming and the place smells so intensely like an old people’s home - absolutely disgusting. Everything is dated, filthy, and depressing. The carpets are thick with dirt, the windows caked in grime, the TV didn’t even work, and the mattresses were so thin it felt like sleeping on a board. Towels? Tiny scraps of fabric that barely cover anything. The whole atmosphere is dark, miserable, and completely unwelcoming. Outside the hotel bar/restaurant on the balcony part looked like a dumping ground, rubbish all over the floor - and it stayed there the next day. No cleaning staff anywhere. The outdoor pool isn’t heated, and the staff couldn’t crack a smile if they tried. Zero warmth, zero hospitality. To top it off, parking is a total scam. £10 a day if you book through Booking.com so it’s not included, and even then we drove around for 45 minutes trying to find a space. Honestly, I can’t imagine why anyone would come back here. Other local hotels might be old-fashioned, but at least they’re bright, welcoming and don’t stink. This place is shocking - never again. Positives: Location is good - 5 min walk to a sandy beach & local to restaurants (most of which are chain restaurants - iguanas etc) . The pool is ok although we didn’t go in as it was packed, the games area had good games for the kids, snooker & bowling but me and my daughter didn’t stay there for long. Thank goodness we only did one day….

I've stayed at the TLH Resort before, basically, it's 4 different hotels, all linked together, each one different to the others. As with the majority of hotels, they are all in need of a fresh lick of paint, with that in mind the Victoria was a bit tired in places. Nonetheless we enjoyed our stay. We've stayed at The Carlton before, so next time I'd probably stay there as it was more 'looked after'. If you want more lively evening entertainment, possibly with kids in tow, then head to the Starlight bar, there's other bars between all the hotels which offer something for every taste, quiet bars, ones that might have live singers etc. The swimming pools are nice. Menu a bit limited.

A little bit dated, but the whole staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you. The food was superb and my compliments to the chef and his team. Entertainment was mostly in the Derwent hotel, indoor pool excellent and the indoor bowling arena was brilliant. You paid £7 for a 2 hour session and hire of the bowls, I would give this ago we had great fun.

We stayed in the Victoria for a Soul weekend. We had a fabulous holiday. The hotel is a little dated , but we were happy with our clean & comfortable room. Dining room, bars & pool areas were great. Staff were amazing & always friendly & helpful. Food was really lovely, fresh, hot & tasty. Thank you for a lovely May break.

I stayed here in August 2025 if you do stay here don't use room 119 if you are unsteady on your feet as the flooring is uneven and a missing floorboards outside the ensuit bathroom which was dangerous. I reported to reception but I don't think this was a new problem and wasn't sorted out in the past!! Other than the room my stay was average very small room- good food and convenient for the sea front but don't think I would return

WARNING !! DO NOT STAY HERE !! I have held off completing this review for some weeks now as we have complained directly to the hotel regrading our poor experience but we have been met with avasive responses and lack of ownership. I can no longer hold off showing and telling the public the truth about this hotel. In the hope that it helps someone , anyone when making a descion to stay here and waste thier money on what is a badly run, depressing , run down hotel which is definatly not being maintained or looked after in any credable way. My Husband and I booked a 4 night stay in one of the apartments at the TLH victoria for a summer get away with our two daughters. We where super excited as it looked comfy and fun for all the family but on arriving in the hotel lobby we started to have our doubts it all looked very tired, the carpets were damaged and badly stained the windows had blown seals which obviously have been in need of replacement for quite some time. Hoping that are apartment would be alot better than this we proceeded up to the room......on opening the door our hearts sank !!! On entering the apartment you are met with threadbare, stained and unhygenic carpets, marks on the walls , greasy finger marks on the cupboards boken door handle in kitchen leaving shrap edges, lights full of dead flies and dust a broken toilet seat , brown limescale in the shower head, rusty hob, thick dust on curtains that had come off thier rails that had clearly been on there for quite some time ,cracked sink in the bedroom , the dining room had laminate flooring which had been laid so badly it had started to come away and break up, the list was endless but the Manger advised it only took an hour to put these issues right after we left !?? I have attached pictures to give everyone a true picture of what the standard of the apartments are and what is accepted here .Obviously it would take more than a hour to correct these issues the carpet alone need replacing as they are far from repairable.!!! We were charged at £246.50 per night!!!!! Still makes me so upset even now thinking about it . There where so many issues but we had travelled 6 hours and got there early eveing ,our daughters where exhausted so we stayed. I lay awake all night just crying but didn't want to spoil the holiday. l saw that there was a "clean my room card " on the back of the front door so I put it out the next morning. By coincidence the cleaner was on our floor she knocked on the door abrubtly told me that the room would not be cleaned for the entire stay that were there for !!!! Shocked We proceeded to reception to see if they would help we wanted new towels and toilet paper at the very least.....the receptionist was quite rude and defensive and I could see my daughters getting upset so my husband suggested we complain when we got home, after all it was meant to be a holiday who wants to argue with people and get upset when you have so little time in the year to spend with your family. By day 3 we could bear it no more and we checked out early after informing reception of our unhappiness who again didnt seem bothered. We stayed in a different hotel on our way home I just wanted 1 last day in a clean comfortable and friendly environment which was not what TLH victoria offered. I'm sure a repose from the marketing team will follow this review stating all sorts of proceedures and hoops that we didn't jump through in order to have a better stay here but lets face it why should you have too !!! PLEASE PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE BOOKING HERE. IN RESPONSE TO THE MARKETING TEAM :IF YOU READ MY REVIEW IN DETAIL IT QUITE CLEARLY STATES THAT WE TRIED TO BRING ISSUES TO THE TEAMS ATTENTION ON 3 SEPERATE OCCASSIONS!! ( SHOULDNT HAVE TO DEMAND A MANAGER FOR BASIC REQUIREMENTS ) STOP PUTTING THE ONUS BACK ON YOUR CUSTOMERS ITS VERY CLEAR THAT YOU RESPOND TO COMPLAINTS BY INSINUATING ITS THE FAULT OF THE CUSTOMER ALL THE TIME..... , LEARN FROM FEEDBACK AS ITS A GIFT AND DELIVER A BASIC STANDARD THATS FIT FOR HUMAN RESIDENCE ..... The hotel provides access to pools, dining, and spa facilities for guests to pamper themselves with massages, body treatments, and facials. It's conveniently located within walking distance of Riviera International Conference Centre and Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Andrew.
Great hotel Resort. We stayed for 4 Nights and came from London. Initially Had a couple of issues with the room, But TLH Derwent went over and beyond expectations. Special mention to Ivan and Dave the managers there. They really understood and appreciated our needs with 4 kids. Thanks once again to the whole team at TLH Derwent who were brilliant. Also would like to say that Gosla at TLH Carlton was wonderful and even to the cleaner LucyAnn and the Porter Pavel were superb. The service was brilliant. Parking is free if you book directly with the hotel. I will definitely would not hesitate in coming back again to this Resort and will certainly be recommending to friends and family. The Swimming Pools, Spa and the Aztec Arena Entertainment exceeded expectations. Lots of entertainment for the whole family. Perfect if you have kids! .. You won’t be disappointed.

I've been to this hotel quite a few times. The rooms are very dated and in desperate need for some TLC Radiator very rusty. walls in need of painting and woodwork very dirty same as in the passages leading to the hotel rooms Shame really Swimming pool amazing.Very good food it's buffet style so something for everyone to eat. It should be closed for a few weeks for refurbishment But still a good weekend

We have stayed in room 169. Its that one facing the street so expect contact noise from the road. Like starting from 5 am till 2 am especially on Saturday. The is zero noise isolation from the corridor as well when drunk and very noisy guests coming back to their room slamming the door. You can't actually quietly close the door; to close it behind you you need to pull it hard. There's no fridge in the room and the furniture is very outdated. The instant coffee was undrinkable. Also on our arrival we found a pair of used socks behind the radiator so housekeeping is also hit and miss? Apparently we were "lucky" as we have refurbished bathroom but done pretty cheaply and without paying attention to the details.(Hard to turn the switch from the power for the shower, screen over the bath only opens a bit as sink blocking opening it wider). Kids liked the swimming pools altought the super strong smell of the chlorine made my nauseous especially in the jacuzzi (also the hottest jacuzzi Ive ever been too). We used the spa centre booked the deep tissue massage and both of us said it was average. Didnt help me with the issue Ive had with my muscle. To be honest I was happy when we were living. The only positive thing I can say about the hotel is distance to the sea.
Kasia P — Google review
Being a wheel chair user we had not been informed there was a reluctance of bringing the wheel chair from the room to the transport. We had not realised the distance from the receptipn to our table in the restaurant. Being unable to do self service the wait staff were excellent in meeting our needs. Co sidering the size of the establishment the lift service was inadequate. Having to use an electric scooter it was almost impossible to fit the scooter into the larger lift Indeed the mail staff had to handle the heavy chair into the lift There were not adequate seating for people who were waiting for the restaurant to open. The departure from the hotel as regarding staff was excellent but was a bit chaotic. Generally it was a good experience I would go again. Well ✔

Booked to stay here on a coach tour. Had to pay £60 single supplement for staying here on top of brochure price. Room size of box room with added walk in shower and toilet, but wash hand basin on dressing table by window - not acceptable! Room had electric socket behind movable shelf unit on the skirting, and another socket in cupboard which was the wardrobe with a TV attached. Complained at reception and an extension lead was supplied. Very, very pmlldisappointed with room. The hotel is a maze, but does have lifts that can essily accomodate 3. Restaurant is very big with separate stations to go for the carvery type help yourself food. Food very good both breakfast and evening meal. Staff very pleasant. There is a 'hop on hop off' little train that stops outside the hotels that takes you on a round trip around Torquay. This was very hanfy as we used it to take us on the round trip so we could see where we wanted to go to see attractions and shops. The best thing about staying here was the evening entertainment which was excellent, and making new friends.

TLH Toorak Hotel is a well-equipped hotel in the heart of Torquay, offering access to pools, tennis courts, and entertainment. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast and dinner during their stay. The spacious rooms provide comfort, and the restaurant offers impressive menus that change daily.
Five mins from the beach access to great pools and lovely staff. Great buffet style breakfast and kids ate free! We actually had an emergency hospital stay and they made sure to keep an eye out for my husband to get in in the wee hours. And asked how our daughter was. Highly recommend staying here. Affordable and great location.

I've just returned from a bowls break. The hotel is ok. The food was ok but has deteriorated from last year I would say nice last year. Those are the good points. As a disabled person the disabled access is poor at best. There are stairs to get to everything. I'm a bowler and to get to the green you have to navigate several flights of stairs which I found exhausting also it mean someone had to carry my rollator down for me ? A nd this happened everywhere I wanted to go. And actually meant I couldn't participate in some things with my friends. The stairs are quite wide and im sure could accommodate stair lifts. Even navigating the restraunt was difficult. The was a ramp linking both parts of it which was dangerously steep. If you've got any mobility problems I'd think twice before going. If my Club decides to go to the Toorak again next year ? I will have to decide whether I want to be left out or go and still be left out of somethings..Sadly I don't think I'll be going next year.

Not worth the money, complimentary toiletries one bottle of refillable shower gel! Bar shut at 10.45 on a Saturday. Towels are so small they don't even go round you! Shower head dirty. Location was perfect for the Electric Bay festival, but definitely not worth the money, needs a major upgrade, and now we know the area there are two Premier Inns nearby. Would not recommend or stay again.

I've stayed here many times over the last decade or so and feel that the standard isn't what it used to be. That said, they have improved their provision of Gluten free options which had been my main concern since my diagnosis of Coeliac disease. I had a lovely room this year with a sea view whereas, in the past, I have often been stuck in a small single room at the back of the hotel. I never used to bother because I'm here to take part in a tap dance festival and I was happy so long as I had a bed to rest but now I am older, I appreciate that little extra luxury of a spacious room with a double bed.

Dropped my elderly Mum & her friend for a Mon-Fri break. They both have mobility issues but the staff were absolutely faultless they couldn’t do enough to help them. Needs a little updating but rooms were clean & comfortable. Food was good & they both had a great time. 😊
Clare G — Google review
Great hotel for the price. The hotel shows signs of age and needs quite a lot of maintenance to bring the decor up-to-date. That said the meals were great along with the service and being local to the sea front.
David B — Google review
Overall glad we came for the facilities, but the service, cleanliness and quality of food weren’t great. Positives: the indoor pool, sauna and jacuzzi were great for the family. The soft play was also fun. The family room we stayed in was ok, had a fan and tv, but we paid extra for a sea view room and our view was blocked by trees. Negatives: Although they claim to be wheelchair accessible, everywhere had steps! The main door, the entrance to the restaurant, going down to the pool, to the games room and to the entertainment. It was a nightmare trying to get around the resort with our disability pushchair. The lift to our room was old and slow. The breakfast was ok, but the bistro restaurant food was overpriced and tasted like frozen ready meals. The carpets throughout the resort smelled and were old. The menus were all sticky. The walls in the corridors were peeling. The staff were very hit and miss. Some were great but others responded like they couldn’t be bothered. The resort has the potential to be really good but they need serious modernisation and training.

We have just stayed at the Carlton for 5 days. Our stay was as meant to only be 2 nights but due to a family emergency we needed to extend our stay for an extra 2 nights and they couldn’t have been more accommodating! They were all so supportive and couldn’t do enough for us. Elley and Hannah the managers are absolute superb at their jobs and all their staff were just amazing! We can not thank them enough and have stayed here many times before and certainly will be staying again. A*

My husband and myself have been coming to the TLH Carlton for a number of years with a group of friends. The food this year was very disappointing. The evening meals had no taste whatsoever. No problem with the breakfast. We were with an organised weekend group and found out that the majority of visitors had the same opinion as us. The lift was also our of order which was inconvenient as I have recently had a knee replacement. We do hope it improves for next May as we have booked again as we we look forward to this annual weekend event.

Gluten free menu misleading. Be careful A group of us booked for the weekend for my 40th birthday. Being newly gluten free its not easy finding alot of choice. The aztec bistro offered a new gluten free menu with lots of choices, we decided to book here due to the large selection of gluten free options so I didnt feel left out. When ordering off the gluten free menu I am then informed by the restaurant manager that it was a mis communication between the marketing team and the kitchen and they dont offer gluten free baguettes and paninnis and only had gluten free bread. I find gluten free bread very dry and asked if it could be toasted. Was told no as they didnt have a separate gluten free toaster. Its stated on their specific gluten free menu they offer baguettes, paninis and sandwiches. I then saw the restaurant manager taking all the gluten free menus off the tables. What concerned me was that why wasnt this been made aware before I asked for a gluten free panini? Has no one ordered a gluten free panini or baguette from the menu yet? Or were they given a gluten panini or baguette? At breakfast I asked if the sausages and hash browns were gluten free as the little sign over the food didnt state it just said what the item was. To be told the hash browns wernt gluten free and the sausages were but was never offered the allergens list. Other than this mishap the stay was lovely. Room was clean and fresh, kids loved the swimming and games room. Would return but more wary of eating due to gluten free menu.

We stayed at the Carlton for an event. We were meant to stay Friday, Saturday and go home Sunday. Unfortunately on the Saturday night my father suffered a cardiac arrest at the hotel. The staff that evening were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Especially Elley Croft. We are still at the hotel now whilst my father remains in the local hospital. The service we have received has been nothing short of incredible! Hannah, Elley and all the team we can not thank you enough!! You have made an extremely difficult and stressful time so much more bearable! We can’t recommend this hotel enough. When this is all over and done with, we will be coming back regularly with our families just to visit the staff! We have nothing but praise for this hotel, its staff and amenities!

The Somerville is a stylish and elegant 5-star boutique B&B located in the heart of Torquay. The hotel offers luxury accommodation with a mix of antiques and modern amenities, providing a light and fresh decor. Guests can enjoy free WiFi, allergy-friendly rooms, beauty treatments, and a lounge-bar. The venue is conveniently situated near popular attractions such as Unity Church, Torquay Museum, Meadfoot Beach, and Abbey Park.
Stayed here a few months back, would have given 10* if I could, this place was exceptional. There is a car park at the rear with enough parking for the amount of rooms. It’s not too far to walk to the seafront but it is up a hill so be mindful of this if you aren’t the best at walking. We didn’t arrive until very late, but the owner waited at the property for us to arrive. He checked us in and even carried our case up to the room. The room itself wasn’t the biggest but it was clean and decor wise it was a mix of traditional and modern. There was plenty of facilities in the room and the bed was great, we both had a brilliant sleep. The breakfast is the jewel in the crown for this place. The menu was something I’d expect to see in a high end restaurant not a B&B. The food was amazing, by far the best breakfast I’ve ever had when I’ve stayed away. The owner took time to speak to us the following morning, he was a really nice guy. Overall I was disappointed that we only spent one night here. I feel the price is very reasonable in comparison to the experience of staying here and if we are in the area again I will not look elsewhere for accommodation.

We stayed for my birthday, Peter and Helen upgraded me to a suite for free as a gesture. Room was fantastic, breakfast was perfect with fresh cooked food and so many additional choices. Was greeted in the car park on arrival by Peter who was a delight, they both know how to look after people, nothing was too much trouble. They gave us a pass for the Model Village, allowed us to bring back my brother for a drink in the evening and served us all, incredible service. I have stayed in so many hotels some of which are world famous but this was a lesson in how to look after people. I have spread the word and my cousin is staying soon and I will be back. Thank you!!!

Fabulous stay from beginning to end. The best breakfast ever, served by the Owner Peter himself😁. From homemade granola, to piping hot full english breakfast, choice of eggs, quality ingredients. In the room bottled water and tea/ coffee etc replenished every day. Helen's home made cake for you to help yourself to when you came back from a day out. Beautiful gardens, friendly, helpful hosts. Excellent location. I would highly recommend this guest house. We were given a suite with a comfy settee and a wonderful terrace with garden. TV in bedroom and lounge. Perfect.

Don’t usually do reviews but this place is exceptional. Having arrived a little jaded from a 3 hour drive and rested in our car a little while, no sooner had we started to lift our luggage out than our host Peter ‘magically’ appeared in the car park offering to help. Only a two day stay but left wishing it had been two weeks. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts Peter, Helen and Paul - what boutique B&B has three chefs on duty? Immaculate, comfortable room, Five Star cuisine (unbelievable breakfast array featuring many locally sourced goodies plus multiple cooked options). Loads of advice on where to go, what to see etc etc and great casual conversations imbued with their experience of many years in hospitality. Loved what I took to be Peter’s tongue-in-cheek nod to a famous TV line - ‘what do you expect to see from a hotel bedroom window in Torquay’ - our view slightly obscured by a wall ten feet away on which Peter had positioned a striking banner featuring a sea view panorama complete with palm trees. Brilliant!

Where to start, from the moment booking communication from Pete was brilliant, a warm welcome on arrival and top class hosting from start to finish, the location of Somerville is fantastic just a short walk from the Marina, rooms are clean and beautiful decor. The little information guide in the rooms is a great touch, recommending local places to eat and Pete has real local knowledge to help you. Breakfast was exceptional, a great choice of fresh fruits through to a beautiful cooked Full English with fresh coffee and tea throughout. This is our first time staying at Somerville and we are already planning our next visit here, going to be our new little getaway. Thank you Pete and Helen, it’s really been a pleasant stay, you guys have been absolutely fantastic

I stayed for a few nights and I can totally confirm is a great value for money, had a little hiccup with the room cleaning and once explained at the reception they actioned upon it immediately, and very kindly followed up afterwards. My bed was very comfortable, and for only £10 you get to enjoy a great plenty of options breakfast, the staff is fantastic, it was a great home away from home whilst I was staying there. They are doing a lot of renovations and building up a gym as well, I had a very relaxing time as the vibes are so positive ☺️ and I’m looking forward to my next visit when in Devon, will surely come back here

Started great gumpy old man at the reception . But the lady there then immediately upgraded us room as we where on a long stay . Met with unprofessional maintainance men one threatened to harm me and my family as he looked drunk from the night before staff then came and said I had to leave i was already in a rush to remove my property . Didnt feel safe atmosphere is dreadful . There renovating the hotel as its just turned from an asylum hotel llike the neighboring hotels to public access but aslum hotels are still in plain site and are a magnet for antisocial behaviour . Half the hotel is not in use as it is not fit to use and the renovation is rushed some doors dont even close properly and im and experienced scriber, carpenter and contruction worker with valid qualifications another red flag. Staff have alot of rude questions this place just has many red flags . Don't think ill ever return to Torquay at this rate as I didn't feel welcome and simple room maintenance was too much to ask one day we had no hot water we didn't make it to the end of my stay I reported staff to the police . They kept offending me as being a guest there offended them . Security is poor and they have licencing issues and so on . I'd prefer paying extra 2 pound for premier inn breakfast its better quality i even had burnt mushrooms . Bacon some well cooked some under cooked like they had been grilled for 5 mins in a rush with someone with no cooking experience . Burned sausages . There are colleges near by with chefs wanting to proof there worth and willing to take an apprenticeship.

It's an older hotel, so even though I was on ground floor, I had lots of steps to go up end down, you really need a map to navigate it, room was a good size, though cold, even after closing the windows and turning radiator on, no blind in the bathroom, so not much privacy ;) lovely selection of vegan toiletries though, took me a while to get the shower working as the selector knob has seized, breakfast was buffet style, usual cooked food plus provided vegetarian options on request, white or brown toast, teas, coffees and juices, and a good selection of cereals. Friendly and helpful staff even when you rock up at 2 am ;)
Leona — Google review
Unfortunately, my stay at the hotel did not meet my expectations. I specifically selected this property based on the advertised availability of a swimming pool; however, both the outdoor and indoor pools were closed during the peak season in August. The parking described as “free” had only a limited number of spaces, which meant that I had to pay for parking for three consecutive days. The photos on Booking.com did not reflect the current condition of the property, and the terrace was closed. Overall, the hotel appeared to be in need of maintenance and refurbishment. The only clear advantage was the excellent location – very close to the beach and the city center
Angela S — Google review
Do not book with this hotel! They don't respond to emails or phone calls. They did not inform us that all the pools and amenities were out of order (only reason we booked as kids love swimming) and they couldn't provide adjoining rooms (my son gets very anxious being away from his parents). When we tried to cancel the booking they charged us for 1 night which was nearly £200 because we could not make contact with them. We contacted Robinsons hotel group and they said the hotel is no longer part of their group (maybe due to poor quality). Highly recommend avoiding this place! Absolutely disgraceful especially when they are charging such a high price for a run down old hotel!

Can't really comment on this place as I was only dropping 2 people off for there holiday here. How ever on arrival a very nice female receptionist came out side and asked if she could help with the unloading and carrying of the luggage etc. Perfect so im giving it a 5 star all the way and will enquire on the building etc when I pick up for thier return in a week so I can then give comments on it on the whole.

What kind and beautiful staff! Stopped in for a hot chocolate on a lovely sunny day. The Terrace has beautiful views across Babbacombe and it was just a lovely experience. The staff were wonderful - there was nothing they wouldn't do - and they were smiley and kind. Lovely food, lovely place, lovely people. Thank you! (Super shout out to Kane, who was our main member of cheerful staff - thank you!)

We booked a mini-honeymoon at the Cary Arms in one of their beach huts. The beach hut was amazing, with fabulous sea views. All the staff were helpful and friendly, especially Olivia. Breakfasts were brilliant with amazing quality food. The only (minor) criticism is that the coffee could be slightly better. We ate in the restaurant twice, and both times the food and the service were excellent. We used the spa twice, once for a general relax, and once for a massage - Rachel was great in the spa. The valet parking worked really well. There is a fairly steep hill to walk up to get into town, but that’s the price of the brilliant views (plus, it helped walk off some of our calories from the excellent food) My partner even saw Sammy the seal when she went for a swim in the sea. Overall, we had a brilliant time and would certainly come back. Recommended!

Beautiful views, dreadful road in and out. No free parking. Food fresh and made on the premises. I had a vegetarian pasta dish which was nice but seemed overpriced at over £20. Service was excellent, attentive without being obtrusive and the staff were delightful.

We stopped for lunch, it was ok, nothing special. Soup is very unspectacular with one minimal piece of of thin bread, it was just all about underwhelming. Great views and lovely area, nice to stop here for a drink. Service was very strange, served by three different people, could’ve been better.

Disappointed. We booked a table for a family special lunch but were so disappointed at the menu choice. I’m vegetarian and don’t enjoy pasta ( the single vegetarian choice) so had to have a cheese sandwich. Not what I’d expect for a hotel with this reputation. The table was sticky, the service slow, and the bill was expensive- not worth it frankly. I understand this place is currently for sale- I can see why. Disappointing.

Can honestly say this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at! The whole hotel is in a state of disrepair, broken windows, the lift is a serious health & safety concern giving that 3 times the door closed half way and opened... we had to manually pushed the door across to fully close and then lift worked! The smell of damp & mould is strong. Actually went to reception to complain and the guest in front of us was stating that him and his partner checked in late the previous evening and decided not to stay as bed was against a damp wall and handing his keys back.. Sat in the restaurant the 1st night for 15 minutes before anyone even asked if we would like a drink.. then asked to choose quickly our starter and grab our main. Food was bland and not fresh! Ate out every other night after this! Our water pressure was non existent, the bath was chipped, cracked round edges.. Approached the manager to get a very sarcastic reply about my complaints.. The only 1 positive from this whole unpleasant stay was the 1 young waitress was very polite and well mannered.. Would not recommend to anyone! Hotel of horrors!

This is not really my kind of place. However it was a very good deal so we decided to give it a go despite the mixed reviews. The first room was very smelly, despite clean bedding the carpet was very stained and I felt uncomfortable I knew I could not stay here! The lovely girl on reception and a very helpful manager on my request moved us to a cleaner room and changed our booking to the one night only. The second room was clean and the water was hot, there was a tea tray in the room. Our inclusive dinner was fine and I wondered if the chef was Greek as the salad garnish was lovely with olives and oregano. Our waitress Marie was very friendly and the bar staff were friendly too. Yes this hotel has seen better days. It desperately needs redecorating and an update but It’s very cheap and you get what you pay for. The staff were great and it was good value. No I would not stay here again but plenty of people seemed happy with it. Tip… avoid room 42… and if you have a problem speak politely to the lovely staff and don’t stay here if it’s not for you and then grumble about it after!!! This is not the worst hotel; it’s on a par with travel lodge - serviceable, cheap and cheerful, and as such attracts those that just want a cheap getaway. It’s dated and not super stylish. It was clean but not super clean either but it’s not filthy so make your choice. You have been warned that this is a two star hotel at best, in a prime location with nice staff, basic food and it’s cheap!
Emma H — Google review
A very pleasant stay. Serice was good and so was the food. Our fairly last minute booking got us one of the smallest rooms at the top of the hotel. It was well appointed with everything in place and a place for everything. We needed for nothing and were pleased with the atmosphere and everything about the place. Considering we have just left a four star hotel the Anchorage was far superior for us.
Richard M — Google review
Room is big and clean, with a nice big tv which is nice to have. Big comfortable bed, food is nice. The bar was surprisingly cheap for a hotel, around the £3 mark for a pint. Cocktails are 2 for £15. Staff are all friendly, with good service. The spa is well worth the money for the sauna, hot tub and steam room.

Just back from our two week holiday. This us our 6th year at The Anchorage. Room clean and spacious, staff were fantastic, food was great. Bar well stocked and not too expensive. Good cocktail menu. Cant wait to return next year. Thanks guys for making our holiday great as usual.

The hotel was very friendly and very friendly staff and excellent atmosphere and excellent service. The staff were very helpful and friendly service was very good. A mixture of young people and middle aged staff. I have one really bad experience with the evening meal wish I am sorry to say was a bit bad the breakfast was brilliant but evening no I don't like writing this. Everything else was brilliant the Devon cream tea was very good quality. I hope I happen upset anyone but the rooms need some care and doing up. But apart from that we have enjoyed your hotel you should be very proud of your staff. All the best for the future.

Had an amazing stay here recently with my partner. The room was lovely and clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful and polite . The services they offer are amazing, from spa to beauty room. The breakfast was amazing but evening meals I wasn't keen on but that's just because I'm fussy and didn't not like the options they had. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the beach and about 5 minutes to town. Really enjoyed my experience here ☺️

The Headland Hotel & Spa in Torquay is a former Russian royal residence offering luxurious rooms, an indoor pool, and beautiful gardens. Guests can enjoy a romantic weekend getaway package with access to the spa and stunning views. The hotel's location allows for lovely walks and a delightful evening meal experience. However, some guests have noted issues with the spa facilities and noise disturbances from events at the hotel.
I had the most gorgeous afternoon at the Headland Hotel in Torquay. From start to finish, it was pure bliss. We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing swim in the hydro pools, the perfect way to unwind and soak up the calming atmosphere. Afterwards, we treated ourselves to an amazing fresh cream tea — everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The experience was made even more special by the beaming, friendly staff who looked after us so warmly, with kind smiles and fantastic service. Every moment felt effortless and full of genuine care. I can’t wait to return!

Stayed here with my friend for one night. The food was really lovely and all the staff was very helpful and friendly. Had a lovely three course meal and breakfast in the morning which was nice it was in a lovely part of Torquay with a lovely view. However our room was out dated we was in room 176. There was very noticeable stains on the carpets, lots of mould around the windows and it did smell damp in there . Unfortunately didn’t notice till we stripped the beds for the cleaner but we noticed both me and my friends pillow had mould on the bottom. And there was a hole in one of the matresees. Just think it could do with better attention to detail. The spa was nice but no robes provided which would have been better. The changing and shower room wasn’t the cleanest.

Beautiful hotel, great views, really lovely breakfast. Just the room itself let us down as it was very dated and lacked finishing touches. Also find £15 per night dog charge steep, £15 per stay would feel more justified. Worth noting if you are a young couple that the hotel clientele did resemble a retirement home however this didn’t bother us

We met friends there last week for the evening. The seating area close to the bar is very nice and extremely comfortable. The service by the bar staff was extremely good - very polite and cheerful. Made you feel welcome. It has been decorated since our last visit and it has been very well done, and to a high standard. Our friends who were staying there said that their room was very comfortable and the restaurant service was good and the menu choices were very good indeed.

Nice place with plenty of free parking for paying residents. About 20minute walk into the centre or 5 minute taxi. Be aware Uber won't pick up from this location for some reason. Rooms nice but lacked air conditioning and no fan either so lost 2 stars for that. Had a seagull giving it the big one at 03:30 so had to shut the window as wouldn't go away due to his nest below my windows. Had to go to my van to get my portable fan out as the room was so warm and not supplied just to get another hours sleep. Would stay again but will take my own fan in at the start in future.

Great location, however parking haphazard and inadequate for amount of guests, got blocked in several times in a disabled space. On arrival receptionist was quite aloof and I asked what rooms were available she said your in the only one available, was unsuitable as shower difficult to get into, spoke with reception and she told us there was one on ground floor! We got stuck in the lift on arrival and it took them 15 minutes to assist and acknowledge us. The spa was lovely so relaxing and not busy during the evening, the changing room light was out. Food was very average but service was fantastic.
Mark F — Google review
Affordable hotel. Very friendly staff, several pensioners vacation here which gave a warm and pleasant feeling in the dinner service. Older style in both hotel and room. Uncomfortable beds. Small breakfast buffet. The hotel is located about 10 minutes from the harbor where most restaurants and experiences are located. Works to walk or take a car but very hilly. Recommend if you want an affordable hotel with walks to attractions!

The service that Bradley has provided us with is absolutely first class. He has almost held our hand through the whole process , explaining the process at each step , providing clear and regular updates of each stage and really takes a lot of the pressure and stress out of the process which is very confusing at times. Bradley has been absolutely incredible going above and beyond to make the process as simple as possible for us. We highly recommend Bradley Furse and give him a Gold Star Rating . Lovely through and through. We had a compact room but the clever layout, and plenty of useful shelves meant we had room for everything we needed. People who own this place are super - couldn’t do enough to help guests. Breakfast was lovely, with gluten free available. Lots of space in a the bar and sitting rooms, beautiful conservatory and outdoor seating. Pool a nice temperature. Hot tub is high quality. Landscaping of garden area is gorgeous. Board games available to play in the bar. I think this is the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. Great place to stay.

A lovely stay again. Room overlooking the pool was kept to a very high standard, spotlessly clean, as is the hotel itself. The staff and owners Nicky and John make you very welcome. The pool is a good place to relax after a busy day doing nothing! Looking forward to our stay next year

John and Nicki were great hosts. Very friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. Room was spotlessly clean with a great shower. Nice to have a swim on arrival after a long drive. Would recommend, Lovely Hotel, Super Friendly Staff, good location, Decretive Looking and clean. The location to the sea front is minute walk and seconds to a car park if walking is awkward. There is also restaurant as close as the sea front, great location. The Hotel is very clean and nicely decorated and the pool is well maintained and a great size for the few guests that a staying. The Staff were the owners so no issue was to small for them, they were realy friendly, smiles as soon as you get through the door, very chatty. We booked a 2 night stay but this wasn't enough for us, so much more to see and the hotel was so relaxing with the sun and the heated pool. We decided to book another night and the staff couldn't be more accommodating and got us another day in the same room. Very happy can't wait to come again, loved our stay, would recommend. ❤️😃

Booked for 2 nights - within 10 mins of arriving we had to leave due to my daughter being unwell. I was very upset at the desk and explained the situation, the lady expressed that she wished she could help with a refund but it was all done through booking.com and there was nothing she could do at her end, I contacted booking.com who then in turn contacted the hotel assuming they would honour what they had said. They refused and took all our money. As for the place itself, I have no idea who is leaving these exceptional reviews or where they have stayed before but this is 1-2 star accommodation at best and the pictures do not give a true reflection of the property. Something very odd about all these reviews that use the same language and wording.

This is a stunning hotel. The pools is perfect & heated with a relaxing large hottub. I loved the music played around the pool and all day in fact. Rooms were very spacious, very clean and the location of hotel was perfect walking distance to the town and pubs. The breakfast was excellent, you had a massive choice and all served/presented sooo neatly. The conservatory was lush to just chill in and listen to music, or play noughts & crossed on a wooden game. The owners were soooo lovely and helpful. I will be recommending to friends and family and will love to go back ❤️thank you looking after us

The Red House Hotel in Torquay is a laid-back accommodation with two pools, a garden, and complimentary amenities such as full breakfast and parking. It's conveniently located just 0.6 km from the Riviera International Centre and offers a solarium, wellness area, and barber shop on-site. The hotel is close to attractions like Torre Abbey Museum and Gardens as well as Abbey Park. Guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool, picnic area, sauna, and steam room at the hotel.
Firstly the hotel is currently being renovated so not everything is perfect. Our room was very large and was what we needed, although some of the lights did not work but wasn't really an issue. The indoor pool was good, the bar and restaurant look very nice and are reasonably priced. Stuart the manager was brilliant and very polite, nothing was a bother. Would stop again if in the area.

Was nice, hard to finds a member of staff to get a drink though. Oh and the door to the pool kept closing and locking which didn't feel safe with children in the pool. Tried to contact them a few months later to book the pool and couldn't get hold of anyone. Booked elsewhere.

We love this pool it's nice and small and warm and ideal for our little baby. Only thing is if my husband takes him there's no changing facilities in the men's. But they do have the changing in the woman's for the baby. Showers are lovely and hot and you also get to use the sauna and steam room. Only thing I find a bit confusing is getting in the place. Every time I go in the main entrance I never know where the reception is or where to go so I feel like I'm wondering around a little bit.

Really great place to stay. Great facilities for families! the room was really hot as there was only a little window, they did provide a fan but it was still sweltering. But I think it was more that we stayed on a week where it was super hot and not usual British weather! Lol The staff had only taken over fairly recently but seemed naturals at what they did. The bloke there was so friendly! And the young lad and young girl were really polite and helpful. Thanks to all at redhouse for making our stay so great and making our holiday that little bit better! Cheers guys!

Indoor Pool area looking very tired now. Water often murky looking, and very dark in there. Jacuzzi/hot tub looks like it's older than me. Changing rooms in need of a full refit. I've heard the place has just changed hands and the new owner is putting the prices up... Definitely won't be renewing membership at it was barely with the old price. (And that was discounted too!). If the new owners invest and bring it back to former glory, then maybe they can get away with an increase?
Dave S — Google review
Only there 3 nights but the room wasn't cleaned once no towels where left and no tea and coffee was left. When asked if I'd like a full breakfast I was told they could only do scrambled egg as they had a make shift kitchen and when the breakfast arrived it was very poor only had 1 rashen of bacon 1 sausage and beans that's what was a full breakfast they are going through a refurbishment but no excuse for bad service

Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, located just over a mile from Torquay Harbour, offers an immersive experience for families with kids' activities, tours, and a large restaurant. The site is renowned for its impressive stalagmites and stalactites. Visitors can explore a woodland trail featuring information about dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals, as well as a Stone Age zone where they can uncover artifacts and learn survival skills from ancient times.
This was an amazing day out! We had Amelia as our tour guide and she was brilliant. So many punny jokes 🤣 she had so much knowledge about the caves and made learning about it fun. We will come again just to ask her more questions! Definitely a brilliant place to go especially when it's raining! The Woodland trail was not buggy friendly, so we weren't able to go around this unfortunately. It looked nice from where we were standing though.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly Recommended Experience! An absolute must-do if you’re in the area. The caves themselves are fascinating – steeped in history, atmosphere, and stories that stretch back millions of years. Walking in and around the site feels like stepping into another world. A very special shout-out to Mark, our guide. He was engaging, funny, and crystal clear in his delivery. More than that, he was interactive and knew exactly how to bring the history to life, making the experience immersive from start to finish. If you’re looking for something unique, memorable, and truly eye-opening, this is one of the best things to do. I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Kent's Cavern - Fantastic geological marvel. Naturally formed over 500 million years. You cannot help but be in awe of this cavernous wonder. You have a fully guided tour who is informative and friendly and willing to answer all questions. I have seen they do special events in the caves as well, which seems a great idea. Such as Halloween/Christmas/Movie nights. Unfortunately... This attraction is not the longest and you could easily be in and out within the hour. Disability access isnt great but they do highlight this before you visit. I do feel soo much more could be done to enhance the experience and make you stay on site longer creating more of a day out of your experience. There is a woodland walk they have built but a lot more investment is needed to make it engaging. Money is tight these days, and i wouldn't even like to begin to imagine the amount insurance costs for something like this! and i hope it is protected forever going forwards... But to make money sometimes you need to spend money! and this is definitely one of those attractions.

Had a fantastic time in the caves today! We visited with our 3 children and arrived 5mins late due to having to walk from our accommodation and the gentleman on the desk was extremely helpful and moved us to the next tour which we truly appreciated. Our guide Alan was fabulous ; engaging, informative and knowledgeable. Really interesting tour which lasted about an hour but flew by as it was so enjoyable. The caves are well lit and it has good flooring - there was a granny in flip flops and socks on our tour and she managed fine! We had a cream tea after which were lovely and generous portions, the cafe staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful, we had a lovely time and would highly recommend thank you! X

A real holiday highlight, these stunning caverns are shown in as natural a state as possible and are all the better for it. Enhanced by the top quality guides, the shows are inclusive and family friendly without glossing the less clean parts of history. Fascinating and a must visit while in the area

Absolutely fascinating experience at Kent's Cavern. Our tour guide, Emelia, was brilliant. Her knowledge of the caves, prehistoric history, and little details made the entire tour come to life. The caves themselves are stunning and incredibly well preserved. It’s amazing to think how much history is hidden underground. Everything was well organised, from the welcome at the front desk to the informative tour and café afterwards. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re into history, geology, or just looking for something unique to do, Kent’s Cavern is a must visit. Don’t miss it!

Amazing! We had such a good experience. The reason for my review, is that I am in the industry and I rarely see how good the service was today. Tom, our server, was amazing. The moment we walked in, he greeted us with a warm welcome, sorted a table for 3 out very quickly, made sure our table was clean and presented menus. We then ordered promptly for our food and drinks. Best matcha I have ever tried and it looked beautiful. Food was absolutely amazing, we were very impressed. I am not just saying this, however Tom is an asset running the outside of the restaurant today. All of the staff were also very attentive and efficient, which again, I rarely see. I will 100% return - and left feeling very impressed! 😊 thank you for a lovely lunch, we really enjoyed it.

On 5th July our 50th Wedding Anniversary we booked a table for 6.30pm the latest time they could fit us in as they had a party at 7.30pm. When we arrived we were seated at the back of the restaurant and we were the only people seated. We ordered a bottle of wine off the menu to be told it was not available. We then tried to order Sea Bass but this was not available. I then asked if Lamb was available but this was also unavailable! We could only presume as there was a large party coming in an hour later all the food was being saved for them. What we also found amazing was that someone else was turned away being told they could not fit them in whilst we sat there in an empty room! By this time a waitress named Claire had taken over serving us. We explained to her it was our Anniversary and had chosen this restaurant because of the good reviews, but as they could not serve most of the things we wanted we would not be staying. Claire was very helpful and offered to try and find us a table at another suitable restaurant, which she managed to do. She also said we could stay seated and drink the wine we had got at no charge to us. To say we were disappointed with this restaurant is an understatement, however Claire was extremely helpful and a credit to the business.

I would highly recommend The Bay. Outstanding service on entry, the prawns and humus for starters were lovely , me and my girlfriend got the rump steak “medium rare” and it came just how we imagined. The drinks were lovely and all in all the price was really good for what we ordered. Would definitely be going back to the bay again when we come back down to Torquay

What a delightful restaurant! Sat outside for my delicious steak burger, on a balmy October evening. Lovely location, very friendly and attentive staff. Great coffee too.! Highly recommend.
Nicky F — Google review
Excellent location on the waterfront with good indoor and outdoor seating. Stopped for coffee/cake & milkshake. Very mediocre coffee and artificial milkshake. Its a shame that with a good location the offering does not match the location. They have visto next door offering a much larger space and good food and coffee. No wonder we were the only customers despite prime location.

We’d wandered along the stretch and The Bay had the best seats with a wonderful view. Fantastic service from Richard. Lovely beers, burger and prawn cocktail were delicious. Thanks for a great start to the weekend - excellent welcome, thank you.

Livermead House Hotel in Torquay is a charming Georgian-era hotel that offers stunning sea-view dining and a cozy bar. The hotel features an outdoor pool, squash courts, and a sunbathing terrace for guests to enjoy. Situated within walking distance of the Riviera International Centre and Torre Abbey Museum and Gardens, this hotel provides easy access to popular attractions. Guests can also take advantage of the solarium and sundeck while staying at this peaceful oasis.
We celebrated my mum's 90th birthday and my brother and sister in law's Ruby wedding anniversary with a fabulous afternoon tea here. There were 21 adults and 3 children and some special dietary requirements. Piers was absolutely fantastic in making sure all our requirements were met and Barry and his team looked after us and made us feel really special on the day. The hotel baker's also made us a beautiful (and delicious) gluten free lemon cake! Thank you for helping us celebrate and make some lovely memories.

We stayed at this hotel as a group of six, in three different rooms. The location is wonderful, right on the seafront with an enormous sea view. The atmosphere is nostalgic, old-fashioned, and classic, which we really enjoyed. Parking was available with an overnight charge and proved very convenient. The small swimming pool and hot tub were well preserved and pleasant to use. Staff were welcoming and friendly, which made us feel at home. Overall, the hotel gave us the impression of stepping back into the 1980s in a charming way. The only real issue was with our room (number 30). While our friends’ rooms on the first floor were well accommodated, our second-floor room was less comfortable. The old-fashioned furniture can be part of the charm, but in this case the bed and bed sheets felt very dated and not entirely clean. The coloured rug on the floor also seemed worn and unclean. The shower was the most problematic feature, with very low water pressure and a faulty mixer tap. Unfortunately, this made it difficult to rest comfortably overnight. It’s worth noting that this seemed to be specific to our room, the others were fine, but room 30 would benefit from some updates and redecoration to match the otherwise positive experience of the hotel.

Visited the Livermead House Hotel for Sunday lunch. Nice ambiance with the piano. However, felt it was trying to aspire to something it could never be. Sense of a bygone age, perhaps a touch of imperialism. Tired decor. Massive sense of hierarchy with regards the waiting staff. The Head Waiter wore a morning suit, whilst others immediately below him wore formal suits with a red carnation. Got the sense the Head Waiter and some of his colleagues thought they were superior to the guests. Rather comical given it’s only a three star hotel. The Head Waiter had no finesse; he spoke rather abruptly / rudely to two of my party. He had no respect for others. A sense of arrogance. I felt uncomfortable with his sense of superiority. The food was nothing special. But then the price was reasonable. The waitress who served us was superb and very attentive. However, getting one’s dessert was a shambles. You had to go to a table at the entrance to the dining area and choose from a wide range on a menu. A single junior member of staff was trying to deal with a lot of guests. Felt sorry for him. Reminded me of school dinners. Everything was rushed. Took our teas and coffees in the lounge. Coffee wasn’t great. However, the staff were very attentive. On my way out I spotted the Head Barman. He was an elderly gentleman dressed in a red regimental jacket giving the (dis)illusions of imperialism. All in all, nothing special. But it was a fun afternoon.

Came for a wake, the staff are lovely, plenty of tea and coffee, food was lovely.. The hotel looks tired, amd smelt musky. It reminded me of a care home, with pieces of random furniture that prob have a great story behind them!! The hotel was on the front, amazing views,a d staff were very attentive. Shame I could imagine that this was once a grand place to stay. .

Me and partner came away for a 2 night break, we upgraded work no hassle, they have us three different options, with a reasonable fee. The food at the bar was absolutely incredible! The service was spot on! We were quite litterally waited on hand and foot! There was aift available, stunning sea view and a beautiful private little beach!!it was only a 20 min walk to Torquay. Tney had a singer on the night we stopped at the bar, he had a great voice. I definitely felt like it was geared more towards the older generation, but it was perfect for a romantic get away to just slow down and enjoy eachother for a couple of days! Would stay again!

The accommodations were clean and tidy, though somewhat dated. The small pool was well-maintained. I found the location to be quite appealing. Furthermore, a small beach was conveniently accessible with a brief thirty-second walk from the hotel.

I stayed at this family owned hotel for seven nights while on a coach holiday. It's in a beautiful seafront location with gorgeous coastal views. When we arrived, the manager came on to the coach to greet us, and we were offered complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits in the lounge. Porter service was prompt and efficient. The hotel itself dates from 1820 and breathes old-fashioned charm and faded elegance. The decor and furnishings in the downstairs rooms and corridors are sumptuous, with antique cabinets and grandfather clocks, old portraits, chandeliers, and plush seating. There's a lift up to the bedrooms. My second floor room was basic, but it was a decent size and very clean, with a comfortable double bed and a full-length mirror. The bathroom was rather dated, with a very small wash basin, but the shower was easy to use, and the towels and bedding were spotless. Dining in the palatial restaurant felt like being in a bygone era, with waiters in formal dress and white buttonholes, and a man playing popular old tunes on the piano. The four course evening meals were well prepared and presented, with plenty of choice, vegetarian options, homemade soup, three veg with the main courses, and delectable desserts served at a side table by the head waiter. The only thing I could fault was that the meat was sometimes tough. I certainly couldn't fault the breakfasts! We helped ourselves to the various juices, fruit, cereals, ham and cheese with fresh rolls, and croissants, but the traditional cooked breakfast, toast and coffee were brought to our tables. Some of the younger waiters were obviously new to the job, so service was sometimes a bit slow, but they were all polite, attentive and helpful. The staff in general were very friendly, from the lovely receptionist who mailed all my postcards, to the bar staff who made up some nice cocktails for me. There was musical entertainment in the lounge on some of the evenings. A very pleasant outdoor terrace with an ornate fountain, jacuzzi, and swimming pool. Frequent buses into Torquay and along the coast, that stop right outside the hotel. I spent an enjoyable week here, and when we were leaving, some of the staff came out to wave us goodbye. Would happily come again.

If you're dreaming of a rejuvenating spa day, the Aztec Spa in Torquay is an absolute must-visit. Nestled within the stunning English Riviera, this oasis offers an impressive array of treatments designed to pamper and relax you. One standout feature is their unique Fire & Ice experience, which promises to invigorate your senses.
My housemate and I came over to have a relaxing spa day (we chose the fire and ice) and I added a Swedish Massage appointment after the spa. I felt like a brand new person coming out from the spa. Irina- my assigned masseuse has done a great job! She made sure I get the best service and comes out relaxed.😊

Wonderful spa experience for a hen do celebration. Fire and Ice 2 hour exclusive use with a glass of bubbly each. Facilities were clean and nice range of options for everyone x The reason for the 4 stars however is the afternoon tea part. Firstly, they had only done enough for 6 people originally but there were 10 of us. It wasn't a massive problem for the staff but if I hadn't gone up earlier to sort it out, we wouldn't have had enough food! The allergies/special diet offers were pretty poor. Firstly the pescatarian got given ham sandwiches...then when mentioned they just replaced with cheese and tomato. Then the vegan...wow. They put the wrong cake on one of the plates and I had to double check if the cream they'd put on there was vegan...which it wasn't. Then the sandwiches were literally lettuce and tomato...in bread....Pretty much same scenario with vegetarian. In this day and age, you would think there'd be much more to offer. The staff were all lovely which is why I didn't want to leave less than 4 but please take note, vegans, veggies etc are not well catered for. Thank you

We’ve been using the facility at the Aztec in Torquay for quite sometime & always enjoyed the place & the staff normally helpful & friendly, we wasn’t made aware of that the jacuzzi & steam room was out of action before purchasing for dip & Dine, so after 40mims we got out to grab food, because we couldn’t use any of the facilities, we got what we always get the burger 🍔 & chips & when the food was brought out I noticed we didn’t get are usual little pot of coleslaw, when I asked where it was the Red haired manager was Rude, & said if you read the menu you’ll see that as part of the Dip & Dine menu you’ll receive less options & that if I’d wanted premium food then I shouldn’t of purchased dine dip & Dine, also I’ve had that same meal countless times & always got coleslaw with my meal. As part of dip & Dine, tha manger took great pleasure in reading the menu to me & telling me all things we’d done wrong, honestly we was taken back by the response we got, it seems like for quite some time things have been steadily getting worse for the Aztec they used to have decent good mannered staff,

Went for a swim a few days ago and downloaded the eulogy app so that I was able to pay for parking because I couldnt see the card machine. Parking was meant to be £1.50, the machine said it had gone through but there was no online receipt. I have now been sent a letter saying I need to pay £60 and £100 if it isn't within 2 weeks. This is shocking let alone the prices that have increased to £24 for 2 people for just a swim with a £5 deposit for a locker. I will no longer be returning and thinks it's shameful for a hotel to even try charge for parking, service is unbelievable poor.
Maria W — Google review
I have cancelled my membership after years. Prices have recently gone up and it is no longer worth the money. The whole place is dirty - from the changing rooms to the pool area. Things are constantly broken - the hot tub and sauna are often closed. The big pool is getting colder by the day, to the point I couldn’t even swim in there anymore as it was freezing. The reception staff are rude and vacant - they don’t even look at you if you talk to them, seem completley uninterested and unable to answer any questions. Extremely off putting. I heard a rumour that you get NHS discount, even though I hadn’t read it anywhere. So asked the reception staff who seemed extremely hesitant to tell me about it. It took me a few weeks to actually get my discount on the membership as I had to bring my badge in even though I had a blue light card which was apparently unacceptable. I don’t normally moan but felt it necessary as I think it is such a shame that this place is so run down when they have such a great location and facilities. The whole place needs a complete revamp and some money invested in it. With the price of the membership you’d think it would be possible, so will have to wait and see!

We Normally dip & dine a few times a month, which we enjoy & the food is usually pleasant. Unfortunately yesterday our experience was not, the food was awful, the menu has been significantly reduced, the quality of food is different, portions are much smaller.

Heard management shouting at staff, pathetic way to manage a team. Learn to run a business, place has new staff every week, maybe have a look and the kids running the show and question if they're right for the job. Unskilled and unqualified.

my boyfriend rang me here to go swimming as I haven’t been in awhile and it was very lovely such a large pool with a small pool and a smaller but large pool which is warmer than the fast and a Jacuzzi and a steam room and a sauna I had so much fun swimming around I would recommend very nice as a restaurant inside and has an outdoor pool too !

Guests are greeted by the warm hospitality of Gary and Philip, who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay without being intrusive. The stylishly decorated rooms boast complimentary Wi-Fi and offer a delightful atmosphere for relaxation.
We only stayed one night as we came down from the Midlands for a family funeral. We booked 4 rooms at the Torcroft for myself my 2 Aunts and my cousin. We loved the decor, the rooms were beautifully decorated. Everything you needed in your room. The owners were so accommodating, they were very friendly. We loved their 2 dog's Patty and Punky. Breakfast was lovely, a good choice of options and it was all very tasty, well cooked. We all wished we could of stayed longer. We all would highly recommend staying here.

I booked this place on the back of the reviews on TripAdvisor and see why it is so popular. It was the best B&B I have stayed at in years. Philip made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived: the bar and breakfast room are lovely; there is a nice patio and garden; the rooms are extremely comfortable; and breakfast had an exceptional range of choices and was delicious, served by friendly and helpful girls. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a B&B rather than a hotel and I will definitely return the next time I come to Torquay.

We booked to see the ‘Endless love’ show at the theatre; which was amazing. Finding somewhere to stay was easy by seeing their reviews. The Babbacombe Palms has lived up to its reputation. A lovely welcome on arrival. Fantastic room and an extremely comfortable big bed. Everything you could wish for, even bedside lamps with usb chargers built in. Breakfast was one of the best and being a vegetarian and my partner a meat eater, Lynn and Scott provide top ingredients cooked to perfection. Thank you for making my birthday stay amazing. Great location and welcoming hosts, also parking relatively easy this time of year though it may be busier in full summer. Good frequent bus service 22 to Torquay and Paignton (every 15 mins on Mons to Sats and every half hour on Sundays) which I made use of.

We had a room on the 2nd floor (no lift). Room was comfortable but en-suite facilities were under par with basin in the main room and shower and loo in the en-suite. Shower cubicle was on the small side and shower not very powerful. Service was excellent and friendly. Location was good, being a short walk from the Babbacombe front. Car parkng is on-street, so luck of the draw.

Really good breakfast loads of options and we'll made

We loved our stay at The Charthouse, and are so glad we got the chance to visit and explore Torquay. The location is within walking distance of the beach, the town itself, and a picturesque path suitable for dog walks (Note: If you own a dog that doesn't like other dogs, this path may not be suitable, as there are a lot of other dogs, some off lead). Lisa & Christophe were great hosts - Lisa being a friendly welcome face each and every morning, and Christophe cooking a hearty full English breakfast (alternatives are available), the pre-breakfast fruit salad being the highlight - delicious. We stayed in a dog-friendly room and found it to be perfect offering private access to both the room and the garden. We plan to return to Torquay at some point, and would happily stay here again. Thanks for hosting us Lisa & Christophe.

We totally enjoyed our stay here. Debbie and Richard are excellent hosts, always smiling and ready to help with any questions you may have. The Guest House is spotlessly clean. Our room was excellent and was just right for my small family of 3. The breakfasts were great too, there are plenty of items to choose from, there's even a continental option. On our last night we had a few drinks in the garden, lots of new furniture and new decking too. We're hoping to go back there next year. I recommend this B&B very highly. Absolutely beautiful property. The hosts were a beautiful couple welcoming with a warm smile and some home cooked Rocky road and fudge. We also enjoyed the fruit cake that was packed with love for our journey home. Most beautiful highlight was the fresh flower displays all across the place and extraordinary hospitality. It truly felt like a nice holiday with such beautiful ambiance in the property. Highly recommend it and would choose over any other chain hotels. We also got accepted last minute and were slightly late to arrive, we got a comfortable night stay, without any fuss. Walking distance from train station and central.

Felt like home from the very first second. The room for three, although not the largest, was fully equipped including a freezer containing freshly filtered water and Debbie's handmade fudge. The garden has a nice seating area which we used on both evenings of our stay. Debbie and Rich are perfect hosts. Highly recommended B&B

It’s fantastic little Bed and breakfast. The host are so wonderful, friendly and welcoming. It’s hosted by a husband and wife. They were so helpful throughout our stay and before our stay even started. As we arrived to the B&B, both husband and wife greeted us with open arms which is so nice to see. You don’t often get that sort of welcome. The place itself is so cute and modern. All the room includes smart Tv, Alexa’s. Of course, the most important, it includes FUDGE! The fudges are homemade and fantastic. The B&B includes a really well maintained garden. It’s full of all sorts of vegetables, flowers and includes a pond. The price was relatively cheap compared to the other B&B’s. The place is really close to the beach, about 15 mins walk and amenities are so close. We were provided with such a personal service. If you are looking for a really nice B&B while in Torquay, this is a great option.

The rooms are bright and airy and have everything you could possibly need including some very delicious home made tasty treats. Breakfast is cooked to order with an excellent menu to choose from, although if there is something extra you would like Debbie will happily provide it. The grounds are well maintained and car parking is off road. Torquay Town centre is a pleasant 15 minute stroll and there is plenty to eat, see and experience in the local area all within walking distance. My family have just spent a short stay at Bentley Lodge, Torquay. We would rate our experience as 10/10. The owners were extremely welcoming, always happy to answer any questions or provide anything extra. For instance when we requested if we could eat in the garden, they provided extra plates, napkins, cutlery and glasses instantly. The rooms were very clean and tidy, lovely addition of a fridge with milk, in glass bottles and water. Also use of a fan, hairdryer, iron etc. Breakfast was lovely, using the idea of ordering the night before and times to eat. The food was well presented, hot and delicious. Also the addition of homemade cake and fudge was lovely.

Ok so when going to a new hotel we are always a bit dubious , but on arrival we were put at ease straight away with a wonderful welcome from Ian who is one half the the team, after the grand tour of the place he took us to our room, which was great, lovely and clean and nice en-suite, then due to the exceptional weather we spent the rest of the day and following day by the pool, which was lovely, breakfast was fab and Ian and Debbie cant do enough for you to ensure your stay is great, if you get a chance please have one of Ian’s sandwiches this guy should open a sandwich shop as they were absolutely lush ! For what they charge you are not going to get any better and no one is working harder than these 2, I could go on and on so try it for yourself as we will definitely go back. All in all a fab stay.

2nd time stayed at the Purple Tree Guest House, both times we've all had a lovely time, welcoming owners, clean rooms, we enjoyed time in their pool, been beautiful weather each visit, n 15muns walk to coast for entertainment

If I could give 10 stars I would. What a beautiful place. Immaculate. Amazing facilities. Gorgeous Breakfast and Debbie and Ian were soooo accommadating and lovely. They definitely make it worth the visit so much more. I came for bank holiday for the first time with my friend and his son and they heated the hot tub up ready for them which they loved! The Olive suite we stayed in had everything we needed and more. I've always stayed in a large chain hotel or booked my own private air bnb but coming here has converted me. You get such a more personal touch. I've found my new place go stay I'm Torquay 🥰

Very clean and tidy rooms 👌, friendly and helpful staff on a beautiful location. You'll return for sure after first stay.

Fantastic this place was a god send after our terrible experience with a previous hotel. Ian and Deb are lovely can't do enough for you. The rooms are light and fresh. The beds are very comfy and a good size. The pool and jacuzzi is a lovely way to relax. The breakfast is tasty good quality with a nice range to choose from. I am looking forward to coming back next year and staying longer.

Serviced accommodation
Burleigh House B&B in Torquay offers cozy rooms, most with en suite bathrooms, and complimentary cooked breakfast, WiFi, and off-street parking. The upscale bed & breakfast is conveniently located within a 5-minute drive of Torre Abbey and Torbay Hospital. Guests can enjoy the terrace with views and complimentary wireless internet access. This family-run AA 4-star-rated B&B provides spacious and exceptionally clean rooms, along with friendly service.
Lovely family run b&b, very friendly and literally couldn't do enough for us. The room was really big and exceptionally clean, the bedding smelt amazing like comfort or lenor. The bed was also so comfy that we had difficult getting up of a morning! Very quiet place to stay. Breakfast was nice and again the owners couldn't do enough for us, even told us that we could have veggie sausages. They also gave us use of the iron and ironing board when we needed it. The only minor minor minor detail that I did pick up on is how quiet the breakfast room is of a morning. It's quite awkward being in there with other guests when conversations and eating can be over heard at all times. Some guests were very shy and whispering so as to not draw attention to themselves. Low level back ground music would be helpful just to ease the awkwardness a little. Having said that, it did not take away from the experience as a whole and how lovely the family are who run this place. Highly recommend.

Excellent bed and breakfast, stayed here for 5 days with my husband and can't wait to return. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Bed was incredibly comfy, spotlessly clean and the breakfast was to die for. Loved having a carpark which was out of site from the main road as well.

The hosts are so friendly, and make your stay very comfortable. The breakfast is very nice and the rooms are very comfortable. It's our second time staying and I would stay again. Very good bus and train. Links right outside the front door and within walking distance to torquay.

Stayed here a couple of times a few years back when working in Torquay. I fell ill during my second stay and the staff could not have done more to show concern and assist in contacting my family and helping to get me home. Clean, comfortable rooms, not expensive, and a very good breakfast.

An ideal location on Newton Road Torquay. The hosts were more than helpful, polite and respectful. We had a ground floor room. Which was very efficient in its function. Meaning a comfortable bed, Sky TV, walking shower and toilet, largebath towels and hand towels, large desk, set of 5 draws, small but adequate louvre doored wardrobe in a small recess. Bed side tables and lamps. All in all more than suitable fittings for your stay. This is an easy place to find, and has a restricted car park at the rear, but more than enough room to manoeuvre. Top Tip is to reverse into one of its 6 parking bays for ease of exit. The seafront is just under 1.5 miles South on the A3022. A large Asda store is just over 1.0 mile going North on the A3022. A loverly place to stay, and at really reasonable rates. You can save a further 10% if you book direct to Burleigh House. Enjoy your stay here. We certainly did.😁😁😁😁
