The caves themselves are fascinating – steeped in history, atmosphere, and stories that stretch back millions of years. Walking in and around the site feels like stepping into another world. A very special shout-out to Mark, our guide. He was engaging, funny, and crystal clear in his delivery. More than that, he was interactive and knew exactly how to bring the history to life, making the experience immersive from start to finish. If you’re looking for something unique, memorable, and truly eye-opening, this is one of the best things to do. I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Kent's Cavern - Fantastic geological marvel. Naturally formed over 500 million years. You cannot help but be in awe of this cavernous wonder. You have a fully guided tour who is informative and friendly and willing to answer all questions. I have seen they do special events in the caves as well, which seems a great idea. Such as Halloween/Christmas/Movie nights. Unfortunately... This attraction is not the longest and you could easily be in and out within the hour. Disability access isnt great but they do highlight this before you visit. I do feel soo much more could be done to enhance the experience and make you stay on site longer creating more of a day out of your experience. There is a woodland walk they have built but a lot more investment is needed to make it engaging. Money is tight these days, and i wouldn't even like to begin to imagine the amount insurance costs for something like this! and i hope it is protected forever going forwards... But to make money sometimes you need to spend money! and this is definitely one of those attractions.

Had a fantastic time in the caves today! We visited with our 3 children and arrived 5mins late due to having to walk from our accommodation and the gentleman on the desk was extremely helpful and moved us to the next tour which we truly appreciated. Our guide Alan was fabulous ; engaging, informative and knowledgeable. Really interesting tour which lasted about an hour but flew by as it was so enjoyable. The caves are well lit and it has good flooring - there was a granny in flip flops and socks on our tour and she managed fine! We had a cream tea after which were lovely and generous portions, the cafe staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful, we had a lovely time and would highly recommend thank you! X

Fantastic place to visit when in Torquay and well worth visiting if further away. Surprisingly large cave with excellent tour guides. I went in October so there were only 4 visitors so had a great experience with no crowds. Highly recommended!

A real holiday highlight, these stunning caverns are shown in as natural a state as possible and are all the better for it. Enhanced by the top quality guides, the shows are inclusive and family friendly without glossing the less clean parts of history. Fascinating and a must visit while in the area

Kents Cavern is an incredible experience! The caves are perfectly lit and full of fascinating history. The guided tour is engaging and informative, bringing the past to life. It’s a great adventure for all ages, both educational and fun. Highly recommend visiting!

Absolutely fascinating experience at Kent's Cavern. Our tour guide, Emelia, was brilliant. Her knowledge of the caves, prehistoric history, and little details made the entire tour come to life. The caves themselves are stunning and incredibly well preserved. It’s amazing to think how much history is hidden underground. Everything was well organised, from the welcome at the front desk to the informative tour and café afterwards. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re into history, geology, or just looking for something unique to do, Kent’s Cavern is a must visit. Don’t miss it!

Having never been before, we saw a post on YouTube about this place. We thought it would be a good place to go to for a couple of hours. We went on a Friday when they had the night opening for the model illumination. Amazing! We walked around during the day so we were able to see the brilliant models in daylight. If you take the time to really look , you can see the details of every model. You also see the puns that are all around the park. Everything is lovely here, in the daylight and the inside displays are something else. Beautiful and ethereal. It's totally different during the night when all the models are illuminated by street lighting,car lights and lights in the model properties. Make sure you see the Tiny British Cake Off with the presenters old and new! There's a small mini golf to play for free as well. Café great choices, had the plant based pepperoni pizza, fabulous. Definitely worth visiting. We are going to be visiting again.

Such a jolly guy to welcome us at entrance/pay desk! Very helpful and friendly. He recommended we take our time to look in detail at everything as there are lots of 'play on words' signage giving plenty of laughs! Great that the ticket price allows free entry for a week from visit. I thought £20.50 was reasonable as we spent 2 n half hours and there's lots of interesting history and information about the costs and man hours involved in the creation and production/maintenance of the models. It is constantly evolving, we really enjoyed our visit !!

This was an amazing day out. So many tiny details and so many puns. Look out for where's wally and friends! The person who designed this place was a genius. The models are all beautifully made and the landscaping is amazing. It is in a valley so you will have to walk up and downhill, however, everything is laid with concrete and there are handrails as well. I went round it with a buggy and it was fine. There are indoor parts as well including mythical kingdoms and more detailed models. The crazy golf was fun as well and is included in the ticket price. There is a coffee shop with snacks and bathrooms at the top as well. There's also baby changing areas. I would recommend going during the day to see all of the tiny details. You can return within 7 days free with your ticket. We went the following night to see the illuminations which were beautiful. I will come again next year with my family ☺️ Thank you so much to the lovely staff who made our day as well!

We went mid week, it was not the summer holidays yet so was not busy at all which was nice! £20 for adult to enter which included mini golf, the mini golf was fun! You could definitely spend 2-3 hours here easily. A fun place to visit!

Now this place was a surprise, I only thought I'd be here a couple of hours....... 4 hours later, so much to see and take in, the place was alot bigger than expected, I loved it...... Even played a round of mini golf 😂. It looks like you could get to do I night time visit on special occasions (would have loved to have done that, maybe next time I'm in the area 😁). Definitely a place to visit with or without the kids.

This was such a pleasure to go to. It was bigger than we thought and really easy to find. The car park is small so recommend you get there early if you can or you can get the number 12 bus and it is a short walk from the bus stop. There was so much to see and some of the scenes were genius and well thought of some were also really hilarious 🤣 Make sure you check everywhere as there’s little scenes that are hidden too

Revisited after 55 years as my happy childhood memory of coming here had stayed with me. We were the only visitors for the first hour as it was raining very heavily, but this didn’t spoil our day at all. The sun came out for us to play crazy golf and there were indoor models too. We loved searching for the bugs, Where’s Wally characters and other hidden items as we’re big kids at heart. Also laughed out loud at some of the names. I have limited mobility but managed the site well. Staff are lovely, cafe was very nice. A really fabulous day out.

Good place to spend a couple of hours. Enjoyed the history, the Abbey story , art exhibition and Georgian dining room. Take note of the gates as you enter with the swans on top , you'll learn about these inside. Cafe , toilets and lift on the premises so accessible to all. Oh and beautiful gardens to sit and relax in.

It's a beautiful historic site with plenty to look at. Inside there are several floors with art, antiques and information galore. Outside in the gardens the scenery is stunning, the flowers were colourful and fragrant. I could happily spend the whole day exploring the site. There is lots to look at and explore.

Really lovely experience - the staff were friendly, the curation was interesting and innovative + had a genuine feeling of exploration (as it’s all a bit windy and topsy tervy). Liked the element of having actors on the top floor history section + the moving dinner table characters. Felt really thoughtful - A couple things were out of order but appreciated the space all the same - would definitely go back. Did try to strategically avoid the school group as a bit raucous but don’t begrudge kids learning aha

Hidden gem in Torquay — don’t miss it! Absolutely loved our visit to Torre Abbey! The whole place has such a unique mix of history, art, and odd charm. The poison garden was a total highlight — eerie, fascinating, and full of surprises. You don’t often see that in historic sites. We ended up spending way longer there than expected, reading all the signs and spotting deadly plants! The art gallery upstairs was another treat — a great mix of historic and contemporary pieces, all beautifully displayed. It feels like a proper cultural space, not just an afterthought. Friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere, and lots of quiet corners to explore. Highly recommend if you’re in Torquay and want something that’s not just beaches and fish & chips.

10% of for visitors staying at any of the TLH hotels. Each art piece was perfectly curated and looked stunning. The gardens were delightful even on a grey day. Staff were friendly and helpful. You are more than welcome to use the images. 🙂

Evocative abbey ruins, beautiful gardens, a 17th century mansion filled with art treasures - there was so much of interest to discover here, and it was only five minutes walk from my hotel! I spent about three and a half hours here, but could easily have stayed longer. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the young lady in the gift shop who greeted me and explained what there was to see and where to find it. I visited the abbey ruins first; they date from 1196, and have an impressive gateway with detailed stone carvings. There are info boards that let you know which part of the original medieval abbey you're standing in. I loved strolling around the gardens; their well-kept borders were filled with exotic plants and colourful dahlias, and there's a pergola and ample seating. There are a few uneven steps, but it's mostly smooth and level gravel paths. The giant cactuses are well worth a look, and children will love spotting the "wild animals" in the tropical palm house! The museum has four floors with quite a lot of rooms, but there are wheelchair ramps and a lift. Some fine paintings - I especially liked the landscapes - and sculptures displayed in spacious galleries. The exhibition of automatons was fun, and I enjoyed eavesdropping on the dinner conversation in the Regency dining room. But best of all was the 800 year timeline that tells the abbey's eventful story through printed info, artefacts, interactive displays, touchscreens, and dressing up in period clothes. The little café only appeared to be serving drinks and biscuits at the time I visited, but there were some picnic tables in the grounds, and also a nice gift shop. Torre Abbey is well worth a visit, and it's only a short walk from the seafront.

Thoroughly enjoyed coming to this Abbey. If you like your paintings, this is definitely the place to come. Certainly is worth a visit.

Good and informative displays. Loved the "I grew up in the 90s" display, took me back. Learned something new. Staff member I dealt with at the till was very pleasant. Only downside is it's quite small. The fact your ticket lasts for a whole year is great

If you are a big Agatha Christie fan, this is not to be missed. Sets from the TV shows are there. Lots of things to do with little explorers.. I was disappointed there was not more in the history of Torquay.. The museum is more of an educational center for children or for fans of Agatha. Christie. I was hoping for more on boats, shipping, agriculture, other famous people. You can tell there has been a lot of work put into this Museum is worth going to, just wish there was more to it.

Not the biggest museum but does have lots of artefacts of Torquay famous residence. Agatha Christie and Frank Browning’s ‘Antarctic Adventure. His penguin is in this museum. This is Ideally for youngsters who would find historical information interesting. Worth going if you have time.

Just a few minutes walk from the marina in Torquay, unfortunately up hill is a museum of Torquay, incorporating 3 floors of exhibits with some being interactive. Ice age to Agatha Chrisie. A good visit if running out of things to do. Gift shop, tiolets and cafe on site. As always best to walk there as parking not easy. Adult £10 entry. Bus from Paignton £3 adult single.

Great little museum with Agatha Christie section too. So much to see, very interactive for young people. Little cafe area, only sells tea, coffee and crisps/chocolate/small packets of biscuits, but you are allowed to bring your own food and use the space. Very friendly volunteers.

Absolutely fascinating! I have family local to the area and I've always wanted to visit mainly for the Agatha Christie Exhibition but there were so many other exhibitions that I loved. Firstly the admission fee is fantastically cheap at £10 per adult, £5 for children between 5-17 and children under 5 go free. They also do other admission bundles that you can ask about on the day or view on their website. The thing that makees it terrific value for money though is the fact that you can pay once and visit for a whole year for free. I didn't manage to get around every exhibition on my first trip but due to my free entry I returned on another day to make sure I saw everything. The staff/volunteers were also outstanding and I wanted to thank them for their great customer service! Every person I met was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and welcoming and it made the experience so much better. As I mentioned previously I was very excited to view the Agatha Christie exhibit and I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint! Whether it was the fantastic sets and costuming from the David Suchet series of Poirot specials, the visually stunning displays of Christie's books with their gorgeous artwork or even the amazing props and costumes from Joan Hickson's time as Miss Marple everything exceeded my expectations and I learnt a lot about Torquay's most famous export! The Agatha Christie Exhibition wasn't the only standout however as I also really enjoyed the display of Egyptian artefacts they had alongside the legendary explorers display and the many different pieces from a variety of cultures from across the world. I was particularly interested in learning about the many famous explorers who were either from the area or departed on their famous journeys from and around Devon including; Sir Walter Raleigh, Sir Richard Burton and most importantly for me we're learning more about Sir Francis Drake as I'm a huge Uncharted fan and Lt Col Percy Fawcett and his search for his Lost City of Z as I rather enjoyed the 2016 film where Charlie Hunnam played him. There are plenty of other exhibitions and displays I loved that I don't want to spoil for people that want to visit. On top of all that there's a pretty sizeable gift shop that's great value for money so you can indulge in your souvenir needs as well as Pengelly's Cafe that I unfortunately didn't get to visit during my time there. I can safely say this is a great day out for the family or even solo explorers like myself. I also think this pairs great with a visit to Kent's Cavern in Wellswood as some of the pieces displayed in the museum came from there. I will be visiting again when I'm next down in Torquay to see any new temporary exhibits they may have

Cool local museum with local history but has things from all over as well. Usually has some sort of special exhibit on that changes from time to time so definitely check the web page to see whats on. I loved the Lego and 90s exhibition they had. I visit at least once a year sometimes more if they have a special exhibit on.

Lovely historical, picturesque village with cheap parking for the day. Free admission to everything. Beautiful grounds and gardens with working craft centre. Great for a family day out or a romantic stroll. Be prepared for the typical Devon narrow lanes to get to it though. That might put people off going, as it was blissfully quiet for us in the middle of August!

It's definitely worth a visit. However, we went on a Monday, and certain things were not open on that day. Didn't spoil it and enjoyed the walks, the church, and the crafts. Treating ourselves to a lovely hand-made glass fish ornament at Our Glass, you can watch the skill of the artisan as he crafts the glass into his latest creation. Friendly and stops to chat. As do all the crafts folk open for business. We were lucky to catch a small bus, by The Drum pub-restaurant, that visits Cockington and drives into Torquay via local stops. Bus is air-conditioned too.

You'll need at least half a day to see and enjoy everything (if the weather is good). Would recommend the Chocolate shop, the cherry ones were particularly divine. Don't forget to visit Cob Barn where Allan will talk you through his art in his workshop. Hoping to buy a steel rose from him at some point. Also check out the Iron Mongers and surrounding shops, then purchase yourself a cute little handmade glass animal at the glass blowers for a bargain £8.

Absolutely stunning little village which is full of historical charm! We enjoyed a delicious jam and cream scone and a wander through the woodland park. There are craft workshops offering items for sale set in the old barns.

What a gem! There’s plenty of parking in a few different locations around the park, so don’t despair if the first place you try has no spaces available! The parkland is gorgeous, so much space to roam free and play! There are places buy food and drink (pub, ice cream parlour and cafe), but also loads of space for picnics. The craft/shopping areas are lovely, really inviting spaces and everyone willing to chat about the work/products if you’re interested. Lots of history to read about too and a gorgeous garden to enjoy. The children’s play area is disappointing, you can see it was lovely once, but parts of it have unfortunately gone into disrepair.

Stunning place for a walk. Loads of walkways and the ponds are great to sit and watch all the fish as the water was really clear. There is also a cafe, stalls and a stunning flower garden.

Visited this site with my son the here is a little gift shop in the village and we went and had a walk around the manor which itself is only really a cafe but there are also plenty of nice grounds to walk around and many unique traders in the craft/art traders around the back the gardens and ponds are also great to walk around we did see a sign for carriage rides but could not find them

My son loves dinosaurs! We were on holiday with the family the last week of august and came across Dinosaur world! We couldn’t wait to visit.. We were welcomed by great, friendly staff and on entry were given a task sheet to fill in as we went around which made the visit really interesting! The place is fantastic for keen dinosaur fans… the model dinosaurs are amazing and life like! It makes you feel like you are totally submerged in Jurassic world! There is plenty to do, see and feel… my son loved stroking all the dinosaurs, and all the little light boxes that you look into and all the teeth you can touch! He loved digging around in the sand for fossils too… There is so much to do here for the very reasonable asking price… but definitely get the task sheet as it makes it very interesting… if you get the answers correct you get a sticker and certificate to prove you are a master dinosaur expert! Adults will love it to… we will defo return on our next visit! Thank you dinosaur world!

Visited this place with my grandkids recently at a cost of £35.99 (two adults and two children). My grandchildren said they both liked it, so for that reason, all good. However, the tour itself took about an hour if you take your time and the dinosaurs are all plastic and mostly small toy like on front of photos and crafted landscapes, with the exception of a few larger ones. There are interactive areas where you can move sand from buried fossils and also a short paper quiz, for the children. In all, I'm not sure it's worth the cost and the plastic dinosaurs were a little disappointing, but the kids liked it, so not so bad.

We had a fantastic time at the Dinosaur world. So much so we came back in the same day! Lots of engaging exhibits, interactive displays, attention to detail, fab models that you can touch and feel. Plus the staff are really friendly and helpful. The shop is lovely and reasonably priced. Would come again!

More or less what could be expected - dinosaurs, and lots of them! The information available was light, with more focus given to plastic and fibreglass but ultimately realistic looking dinosaur models that complimented a few fossils. The museum was much more interactive than most though, with invitations to touch, sit on or stick your head into multiple exhibits - great for children and Instagram loving parents. The standard fossil hunting sandpits and an imaginative Jurassic Park diarama were also enjoyed. Perhaps not a place to visit repeatedly, but certainly happy we went. 1 star lost purely because of the price - while not too expensive, it was a lot for the size of the exhibition that took less than an hour to fully appreciate

Provided you understand what the attraction entails, I don't think you'll be disappointed. This is better than similar dinosaur attractions my family have visited along the coast. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and interacted well with my difficult children. We enjoyed the quiz sheets provided and the facts displayed throughout. The exhibits made it clear which dinosaurs you could touch /sit on, versus those you couldn't, which is a simple touch but enhanced the experience.

Small but lovely. Has Dinosaurs for kids to sit on, so it has a few photo opportunities. It also has mini digging sights for kids and a quiz for when you are walking around. Fun for all ages if you like Dinosaurs 🦕

We had a wonderful time here yesterday, thanks you for a lovely visit. The staff, owner (and doggie) were really friendly and gave us loads of interesting information, we had a lovely chat at the end of the experience. Our kids particularly enjoyed the excavation areas, & riding a lifesize Deinonychus! We recommend highly! This is our second year coming and we'll be back for sure.

Nostalgia for us oldies 🤣. While I don't remember the Victorian items, there's a lot in there that was still about in my very young days and it brings back memories of my grandparents and parents. A really enjoyable couple of hours. The Victorian street was very atmospheric. Cafe on site , not sure about toilets as I didn't look for them , sorry.

I had a great time here with my mum and son. The displays are huge. They are so detailed and filled with memories. You could spend hours just looking at one display. They have arranged it in a clever way so that you can walk through the converted house easily. Not pram or wheelchair accessible unfortunately. I had my son in a front carrier. Also, there is a TRAIN in the middle of the building. I would have killed my husband if he had shown up at the house with a massive train, but this lady let him squeeze it in the house 🤣 Very nostalgic and a good walk around. We will be back next time we are in the area as I am sure that we missed some bits. Highly recommend a visit. Everything is inside, so it is great for the rainy days.

Wonderful step back in time, through the Victoria's streets even exploring a World War 1 trench. Definitely recommend adding this to your places to visit.

Great museum, I have visited a few times over the years and always find something new and interesting. Very well laid out and much bigger than it looks (I mean come on they have managed to fit a full steam engine in there) and that's a great story on its own let alone the literally hundreds if not thousands individual pieces of memorabilia and artefacts to look at. My personal favourite part is the Victoria era street as you go in complete with shops and cobble stones and the WW1 trench you can walk through.

What a great little find! My dad had been before and said for us to go. Went on a rainy day. It has so much history in one place and the west ham memorabilia topped our visit. The owner was lovely. So knowledgeable! Lovely little cafe. Reasonably priced (cash own, just FYI) Will definitely return.

After about 30 years of not going here it was great to go back, it has got bigger and better so much to see. This is a great place for all ages fantastic to see how much can be put into a small space I can recommend this museum and thank you to all that keep it going. There are steps will be a problem if you can't get up them toilets on the ground floor. Excellent place.

A pleasant pebbly beach is located right next to the beach. There's a paid toilet (0.30p) and it's kept clean. There's also a restaurant and ice cream in various flavors right next to it. Getting down to the beach is difficult because you have to walk downhill. For the lazy, there's a cable car. The cable car is open from 10 a.m. The ride down is short but pleasant. You can admire the magnificent views, and you can also rent kayaks here. I recommend this very attractive spot for sunbathing and more.

I went to Babbacombe Cliff Railway with my family and it was such a lovely place to visit, we walked down the cliff way path which is very idyllic walk down to the beach where there is a lovely cafe and shop and also has a lovely little beach. there is also a place where you can hire kayaks, after staying for a while we then went and experienced the railway cart as it is a very steep climb up but mostly for the experience of it. there is also a gift shop at the top of the railway cliff. definitely would recommend visiting this place.

I googled things to do in near Torquay this came up, less than 2 miles away but the hills phew. It's flat along the clifftop road. Great views walking to it and worth it for only few pounds each way. Leads to nice beach with shop, restaurant, weather ruined it a bit for me but fairly quiet sheltered beach. I'd go again.

Love this place coming here for 38 years never gets boring many changes over the years but most good the cliff railway is the best great views and still only 2.50 a ride

Best way by far to get up from the beach, these things are great and a worthwhile piece of heritage to keep going so recommend a visit as the beach is also good woth and excellent kayak hire place that does great tours of the coastline

Been coming here since I was a toddler, love it. Always good to get a small and a wave as the down one passes the up one.

Surprisingly comfortable, cosy traditional local theatre, with a good size stage. Our view of the stage was unimpeded, and sound quality was very good. Facilities here are a bit lacking, with too few loos, which were very grubby, and the bar is in what looks suspiciously like a converted broom cupboard. However, a member of staff did say that they were very much looking forward to a forthcoming refurbishment, so hopefully this shouldn't be an ongoing issue. Most of the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. There is a very pleasant cliff walk with a view across the bay, and plethora of very nice cafes and bars in which to spend time while waiting for the doors to open. Street parking is limited. We used the Princess Road carpark, which at £10.50 was a tad steep. The theatre does not have a front of house annex, bar or toilets for early arrivals. Public facilities are nearby however. These are contactless pay access only. A good evening out.

A good old fashioned theatre with lots of character and quaintness. Perched overlooking the sea, parking nearby. Great acoustics and seating wasn't too bad.

Went to see Jim Davidson and it was a Good Night 👍😁. The Theatre is very pleasant and the staff were very Pleasant and Courteous. The Bar was well stocked with lots of Goodies 🍫🥤🧃🥛🍶🍦🍺🍷. We just got Ice-cream. Overall it a nice experience. We look forward to seeing another show in the Future. 👍😁👍😁

I've lived in Plymouth just down the road and never been to babbacombe in 54 yrs! What a beautiful place the theatre is what I can only describe as the last picture house, quaint but beautiful theatre, really good service and a good.

Good fun. A little strange coming to a xmas entertainment show in October but my son has autism and loved it, a nice old fashioned venue with good old fashioned british humour, great night all in all.

Awesome evening watching The carpenters experience. Lovely old theatre with stunning views of the sea. Very friendly staff with bar and half time snacks. Recommend a visit you won't be disappointed.

Lets have a party was a fantastic show, great dancers and very funny comedy sketches. The cast are very talented especially Steve Laister and Lorna Sullivan. Such a fantastic two hours of entertainment. Well done to all the cast.

Sat in circle. Egress was a bit tricky with all the audience moving at once. I suggest stewarding of movement would be safer. The audience demographic was older. The stairs were very scary. The bar was clean, but inadequate with insufficient seating. The show was magnificent and well enjoyed by all.

Went to the Ministry of Science show here with my children. Absolutely fantastic show and experience. Lots of staff, all very friendly. Lady on the upstairs bar is especially a credit to the Theatre. Nothing was too much trouble, fantastic under pressure and still bubbly warm service! Seats where fairly small, and a cup holder would have been really helpful but not the end of the world! Toilets very clean and tidy, however more really could be done with as only one toilet facility upstairs for gents (that I was aware off) Love the idea of being able to preorder drinks and snacks for the interval to be either collected, or taken to your seat. Great visit and would come again

Went to see Wet Wet Wet there in 30th October and it's a cute little theatre. Bar at the back of the stalls, where you can buy snacks & drinks. Toilets were down a few flights of stairs, so hopefully there's a disabled loo on the foyer level. We were told it was a sit down concert, so that was a bit of a dampener, but towards the end everyone was on their feet. Slightly small stage, so our view of the stage from the side was a bit obscured by speakers etc so I'd recommend booking middle seats. Parking was a bit of an issue, so arrive early to grab a spot. Overall, it's a lovely venue, and I'd definitely go back again. Lovely staff, very welcoming.

My wife and I went to see riverdance, it was AMAZING. The mucisions were AMAZING, the dancers were AMAZING. Love To go and see it again. We didn't want to leave. We wanted to see more. Thank you SO MUCH Riverdance, we couldn't of asked for anymore. All these people moaning about the theatre, not having enough people for the Riverdance production, you can only fit enough people for what the stage can fit. Thank you again.

Went to the tribute entitled " Some Guys have all the Luck ". The show was excellent and well worth the ticket price. However, on arrival at the Theatre there was very little seating available. I finally found a table with just one chair. I asked for assistance from the server who very unhelpfully suggested I go on a search if I required additional seating. I approached the upstairs bar, which was closed except for those that were dining. I then went to the next door bar, who didn't serve coffee. The option was to purchase a coffee in the downstairs bar and negotiate the spiral staircase to bring it back. Rather than trying to do a balancing act I opted for an Orange Juice and a bottle of Doombar beer. Then to add insult to injury I had to pay an extortionate price £7.30 for the beer. Each time I buy a ticket I'm always asked if I wish to donate to preserve this live event venue. If they only got there act together with the bars they probably wouldn't a subsidy.

Went to see Rick Wakeman. Great show, theatre is a good venue to watch any show, all the seats have good view. Well organised, the staff were great. The night went of without a hitch. Definitely recommend for any show.

Meadfoot Beach is a true hidden gem in Torquay. It has a peaceful, relaxed vibe that's perfect if you're looking to escape the crowds. The water is clean and calm-ideal for a refreshing swim or paddleboarding. The views across the bay are stunning, especially in the early morning or around sunset. There's a mix of rocky and pebbly areas, so beach shoes come in handy. I also appreciated the beach huts and the little café nearby, which adds to the charm. Definitely worth visiting if you love quiet coastal walks and tranquil seaside moments.

We took the coastal path by the harvester in Torquay and walked up through the hills past Daddyhole and into Meadfoot. It was a lovely walk. I did get lost at one point though but that's my bad direction! We started about 9:30pm so it was going dark but was a lovely hike! We arrived about an hour later so was dark but still a beautiful view!

Continuing our adventures around Torbay we caught the bus to Wellswood and turned left walking past beautiful huge houses in the general direction of the sea. And…lo and behold we ended at Meadfoot beach which was really peaceful, basking in glorious sunshine and feeling like the vibe of a Mediterranean hideaway cove. Probably only the 2nd time I have been here and I have never sat and admired it in its glory. Pebbles,stones and some sand it wasn’t deterring the families enjoying and swimming …floating around looking at speed boats and day trip boats. Nice little cafe too with a good snack menu and then we strolled via Daddyhole back to Torquay which was only 15 to 20 minutes ….wow crazy we haven’t enjoyed it before. We will be back…

Lovely place to swim, to jump into water, coastering, to paddle board, beautiful views, 2 showers to be used, a coffee shop, forest nearby, coastal paths. Some free parking if you are lucky. If is windy, best to enjoy the views and not adventure into sea :)

Awesome little beach to go paddleboarding and swimming. Beach disappears at high tide. You can easily reach the London Bridge Arch from here by SUP or Kayak. Very limited parking so make sure you get here early. If you don't want to pay, there is few onstreet parking spaces, they've filled up by 9am this morning. A cafe and public toilets above the beach. Toilet 30p to use, contactless payments only.

Loverly place, little polluted with people but that’s to be expected on such a day, loverly clear sky’s and good view! Weather was 31 degrees and felt like it too. Sea was clear and quite blue. Wish there was some sort of gif shop along with the cafe where you could get beach essentials such as blow up rings, sun glasses, cream and so on. Met a loverly crow on walk back to car, video of said crow included.

We attended today, first impression was good until we went into the change rooms. No family change rooms, which meant we had to split up. The female change room was chaos. Lack of cubicles and it was really dirty. They had a pen to put babies in which was filthy. It’s a shame because its a brilliant pool for children with the different play areas etc. but it is let down majorly by the cleanliness and lack of change facilities. So much potential if change facilities were updated.

Well.... how is this place not condemned? It's absolutely disgusting..... Where do I start? Chewing gum stuck to tiles on entry ramp into main pool... The children's pool is absolutely riddled in grime and mouldy grouting, The hand railings are just duct taped together near the spectators box The hand rails every where have rust and rust stains absolutely everywhere You aren't meant to take photos, obvious reason there are other pool users and children, however I couldn't resist to share evidence of this as many will deny the state of this swimming pool Changing rooms are full of mould and no cubicles at all within the men's no idea what the female changing rooms are like There are no family changing rooms If I could I'd rate this place lower than 1star which is a shame because it seems they've invested a load of money into the fitness suites and the areas surrounding the pool, This place has the potential to be a state of the art swimming arena and its just quite frankly a absolute dive... £6 per person seems fairly responsible, however there are much better facilities in the areas that for a pound more I don't feel like I have to wash in dettol afterwards... Safe to say we won't return, and I hope many others won't until this place has been refurbished I could continue on but for now... we will leave it as that

Outdated and poor facilities with little offering for anyone over 5. As many other reviews state, the changing facilities are not family friendly and are generally very poor. To access the disabled changing rooms you must either go through no access doors or attempt to make your own way through the gendered changing rooms. It is not pleasant to feel like an afterthought and people expect more this century. The actual pool itself was disappointing and dirty, and we became quite unwell after our visit here. You could tell the water quality was very poor as there was a haze over the pool and it stung a lot if it got in your eyes. There is one slide accessed by a tower of stairs. The slide itself is okay but not suitable for adults as the splash pool at the bottom of the slide is not deep enough to absorb the landing, my partner even hit their head against the bottom of the pool because of this fact. The only plus side is this place is cheap, but honestly it isn't worth going. There are much better actual leisure pools available.

Visited in Dec 23 during school holidays as family of 4 (Mum, Dad, 6 & 4 yr old). It's a solid, decent swimming pool for family and kids. It looks a bit dated, but: 1. The pool is good, 2. There's 2 decent areas for small kids who can't fully swim yet, 3. The slide is good and the fact parents can take small children on is really good and not something you see in many places anymore. 4. Wave machine - kids loved it. 5. It was quiet and there was no one asking us to leave after our hour was up (we stayed about 90 minutes). Cost about £25, there's not many cheaper swimming pools for a family of four. Would recommend and will go again.

It was really good and fun although i do have afew complaints. The walk up to the slide smelled like poo, the changing room was open except from 8 really tiny curtain covered ones. It was abit rusty on the metal bits . Overall good, would consider coming again

For 2 adults and 3 children it cost nearly £30 for 1 hour. On entry staff were lovely and shown us where to go. There are no family changing rooms just make and female. Female changing rooms were extremely busy with a block of 8 - 10 changing rooms. Cubicle with shower curtains. The pool has one big slide and and a mini children's slide. Waves came on for around 5 minutes. Kids enjoyed it but I would t say it's worth the money

Upon arrival it was a really nice building & very quick to get booked in. Went inside for a swim, wanted to purchase some goggles at the main entrance, however was astonished at the price tag for one pair of adult ones (£28.) I think children's goggles was about £14. Price of the swimming itself was reasonable. Pool was fun with the water waves when they activated & a slide where you can go on above a certain hight & if not above the hight you can have someone who's over that hight go down with you. I did notice a few times when going down you lost speed and sometimes got stuck (had to pull myself down.) There is no changing room curtains in the male part for children to safely get changed in private, (ended up sending the kids into a room where 3 toilets was to get them changed in private.) It's an open locker room. Wasn't impressed when taking a 7 year & 10 year old in there and some old guy pulled down his pants not something anyone should see especially at their age. When questioned about the lack of privacy they replied and said it's something they plan to do in the future. -2 * for the lack of privacy & - half a * for fair pricing of goggles & another half a * for the old guy. All in all if they can improve the male section of changing rooms would of been a 4 & a half star.

Today, I hiked down to Oddicombe Beach in Torbay - and it was absolutely stunning. The trail winds its way through lush greenery, with occasional openings that reveal sweeping views of the sparkling English Channel below. As you descend, the air grows fresher and saltier, and you can hear the faint crash of waves calling you closer. The path itself is a mix of gentle slopes and steeper sections, but every step is worth it for the incredible coastal scenery. When you finally reach the beach, you're greeted by dramatic red cliffs towering above soft pebbles and turquoise waters - a hidden gem that feels like a little slice of paradise

What a pleasant beach with a great cafe and a very reasonably priced gift shop. Plenty of seating on the steps and. As cute array of beach huts. Set in a bay the sea was calm and you can hire paddle boards and kayaks

Very clean beach with great views. Plenty of areas to sit including the rental of deck chairs and lounger chairs great day out. One thing to be aware of is that dogs are allowed on the cliff train all year round but not allowed on the beach all year round

Great beach with kids as it’s pretty much enclosed both sides so they can’t wander too far. Steep roads and paths to get down but a cliff railway (chargeable) is available, just don’t miss the last one back! No real parking and wardens are on the look out, I even saw them ticket someone for letting a disabled lady out of a vehicle at the bottom. Lovely, but pricy, cafe on the beach for take-away and eat in food & drink

The location is stunning and there are plenty of facilities the issue is that the beach itself isn't sand it more like gravel which isn't easy under your feet. The other problem is there is a bit of plastic in the water although the the beach is spotless. There are toliets put they cost you 30 pence per person and it's contactless payment only. Which normal isn't a problem if the are well kept, but they are a bit of a mess.

The scenery is really pretty. It’s a steep walk down the mountain to the beach itself and I walked with boots on and my laptop in my bag and was breathing like a hyperventilating whale but all worth it in the end :)

A beautiful beach it must be said. Lovely deep red sand with elegant pebbles. There is a cafe too and even a cliff top railway museum. Over the last ten years, the beach has suffered rock falls which have blocked off part of the beach- especially when the tide was in. It is dog friendly. I spent a lovely afternoon with my son throwing stones into the sea.

+/- There are better beaches in the UK. It's a small sandy beach with quite a few rocks. The benefit this beach has over others is that it's in the town with all the amenities that come with that. Water shoes and a wetsuit are recommended. We couldn't see any lifeguards although an area is barriered off for the swimmers. !The report of one of the other reviewers that the water quality is terrible is false. Torre Abbey Sands is one of Torquay's most inviting beaches - wide, clean, and with beautifully soft golden sand that's perfect for barefoot walks or building sandcastles. It's easily accessible from the town centre and right by the seafront promenade, making it ideal for a spontaneous beach day. At low tide, the beach really opens up, and the shallow waters are great for paddling or a safe swim. On sunny days, it gets a lively buzz, but there's still space to stretch out and relax. With cafés, toilets, and ice cream stands nearby, everything you need is within reach. A brilliant spot for both locals and visitors.

Enjoyed a leisurely stroll along this wide sandy beach. It's easy to access: steps with a handrail lead down to the sands, and there's also a wheelchair accessible ramp next to the promenade bridge. The clean reddish sand, with hardly any shingle, is perfect for young children to run about and play. When I was there, there were lots of people paddling in the sea. Great views of Torquay and all along the coast. There's a beach café where you can buy a coffee or an alcoholic drink, and there are also paddleboards for hire, kayaks, and snorkelling equipment. Abbey Park and Meadow are just across the road, and it's only a short walk from the harbour and other seafront attractions.

A nice clean beach, and not too busy, however it’s not disability friendly. We walked a while and didn’t see any slopes down to the sand, so were forced to stay on the paved sides.

A Standout Staple of Devon! We've been coming to this fantastic café for a couple of years now, and have always enjoyed the food and the friendly staff. My wife always orders their excellent kedgeree, which is one of their best dishes in our opinion, as it's very well balanced with seasonings and ingredients. I've sampled most of their main menu items, all of which are great. Today they had a special burger with a Devon blue-cheese , which I had to try. I have to say this was the highlight for me, as the entire burger was perfectly seasoned and cooked; I believe this was the best restaurant burger I've had in a very long time! The place is small, but don't let it fool you. The food is outstanding, and their cocktails are awesome. I'm looking forward to enjoying one of their tapas movie nights!

Blue Walnut Cafe is a exceptional place for Breakfast and Brunch . It has a varied menu to fill most needs . The price is reasonable too and the service is outstanding. An absolute must if your stopping nearby.

Beautiful scenery. It starts from car park next to Premier Inn and ends behind the Arcade. Very short walk across but worth going up to see fantastic view of sea front. You can walk down the steps to main road and to promenade. We did one big loop back to car park.

Visited here (31/05/24) Truly amazing views from here. A long walk up the many steps but it was worth it. There are a few benches on the way up that you can stop and rest at. Make sure you take plenty of photos here. Great opportunity. Lots of colourful plants on the way up.

Lovely views across Torbay on a beautiful sunny day this really is a must if you haven't done it before. Me and the wife joined the walk on Sheddon Hill just above the foot bridge and walked as far as the Princess Theatre,this was as far as we could go as the workmen were cutting back the shrubs and plants so the rest of the path was closed.I believe it goes as far as Fleet Walk so we'll probably do that next time and I imagine it's a lot easier walking down than up! That said the views are stunning, give it a go.

Great views over the harbour, lovely master bedroom and a spacious lounge diner. The only downside is the main bedroom, it has a bath with a shower head that has no shower screen or fixture for the shower so you have to hold it at all times. It's ok if you're an octopus and you don't mind the floor getting wet.

Absolutely amazing place, palm trees, everywhere, and beautiful blue green waters. Hard to believe you are still in the UK. I would most certainly advise and advocate a trip to Torquay if you have never been. There is also a very very reasonably priced Airbnb at 61 Quinta Road.

This beach sandy and is a great place to swim. It is usually moderately crowded, so you can still enjoy a relaxing time. There are plenty of paid parking spaces nearby, making it convenient for visitors. A nice spot for a day out.

What a gem Anstey's Cove is! This little haven boasts a fantastic cafe serving delicious food and coffee, plus the welcome addition of clean toilet facilities and plenty of seating. But the real star of the show is the beautiful cove itself, with its invitingly crystal clear water and captivating rock pools. I can just imagine children having an absolute blast here, paddling in the clear water and becoming intrepid explorers amongst the rocks! We also took the opportunity to walk a section of the South West Coast Path from Anstey's Cove back to Torquay, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The scenery was utterly breathtaking, with truly spectacular vistas, similar to the stunning view I've included below.

Absolutely stunning location. They call it the English riviera and now I see why. There is a car park just up the hill with a short walk down to the crystal clean water. Lovely say out in the sun watching the world go by at this location.

Excellent cafe bar, and small, rocky beach, perfect for clambering over the boulders and looking for sea creatures with the kids. Water was crystal clear. Steep hill down but has steps as well as a road. Car park at the top has a pay machine.

Princess Gardens in Torquay is a lovely, well-maintained park, perfect for a relaxing visit. The park is open 24/7, so you can enjoy it any time. It features a beautiful fountain and is a great spot for both relaxation and for children to play. Many visitors appreciate its peaceful atmosphere and central location.

These gardens, originally planted on land reclaimed from the sea, offer a pleasant respite from the bustle of the town and the harbour, with lawns, flowerbeds designed in beautiful patterns, and splendid coastal views. I did miss the Mediterranean feel of the exotic palms that were flourishing here last time I visited several years ago, but I noticed that new young palms and other saplings have been planted to replace them. There's a big wheel, a war memorial, and an ornate Victorian fountain that has recently been restored. Ample seating. Conveniently close to cafes, refreshment kiosks, and the other seafront attractions. A nice place to relax with an ice-cream and watch the world go by.

Nice garden overlooking the harbour. I was there in March, when it still was cold, but probably in summer it is a perfect place to walk and enjoy the views of the coast.

What beautiful gardens right on the dockside. You can see a lot of effort is taken with the design and maintenance of this attraction. The grass is well cut and the flowers are in beautiful patterns. There is a lovely fountain in the middle too that still works. A joy to behold

Train ride was a good way to take elderly mother round Torquay. However, zero thought put into safety when boarding her (didn't bother telling us about the ramp). Also, called ahead to check departure time and once confirmed waited 30 mins at a nearby cafe, arrived at at stop to watch the driver pull away 15 mins early. Annoying. Don't count on the timetable.

It's only £7 each so we didn't expect too much. A reasonable trip around Torquay and the staff were friendly. There is a recorded commentary which is quite interesting. I've deducted 2 stars because the driver interrupted the commentary with his own unintelligible ramblings which spoiled it. He does also advertise his cheap accommodation in Thailand.

Saw a train leave, so waited for the next one almost an hour later at 3.05. It arrived late. The lady told us they weren't doing another trip as not enough people to go on it! What a waste of our time and a real let down. If someone was waiting for the hop on hop off, they may have struggled to get back down the hill on foot. Very poor service. I wouldn't risk it.

My family thoroughly enjoyed the experience and seeing part of Tourquay.

It was 45 minutes late and they were persuading people to get off early on the final run so that they didn't have to bother to do the whole run. As we got off the final words we heard from the staff were: Driver to conductor, "do you want a lift home?" Conductor to driver, "no. I'm just off in here for a dump." How charming. Sums up Torquay really.

We got married in this gorgeous place, grounds are stunning and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend a visit, lovely café and unique little shops in the grounds along with lovely walks to the ponds .

We visit this lovely area caught in time with it's thatched cottages often, and I would recommend you take a look. It has chocolate box charm. Interesting walks where we spotted a kingfisher bird. Places to eat, and craft shops with people working in them, so it makes it interesting.A beautiful rose garden to sit and relax inside, as it has a walled garden.

Beautiful grounds, the wedding area we were in needed some works doing to tidy it up a bit. But it was a lovely ceremony and great location for photos if the weather allows

Absolutely gorgeous place, set within a beautiful country park, walkable from Torquay sea front. Lots to see and do with lovely craft shops and demonstrations and plenty of eating facilities.

An interesting place with a number of arts and crafts type outlets, unfortunately many closed during our visit. The grounds are very well kept and a joy to walk around, the church is worth a visit also.

Loved our visit here. Beautiful grounds, teas rooms, pub, cafe and manor house. Craft shops are worth a visit especially the glass blowing studio. Lots of pay and display parking. No entrance fee.

Beautiful setting with very well kept grounds. Wonderful specimen trees, especially the magnolias at this time of year. There was a fantastic sense of the history of the place. A choice of places for refreshments, although we didn't try any this time. The number of craft outlets seemed reduced and it was a shame the toilets in the car park were locked so there were only facilities for customers of the eating establishments

If you like to read about several notorious criminals then there's plenty of reading material here!! Largely newspaper exerpts, prison reports & letters. A few video clips to watch of news reports etc as you go round. It's in a musty dirty basement but adds character in its own weird way. Friendly enough man on the entrance that gives you insight to some recently captured most wanted criminals as well as a few still at large. It seems rather like someone's own personal collection got a bit out of hand so they had to open a museum. Depending on how much reading of excepts and watching video clips you want to do you allow 45mins to 90mins max to see everything

My husband and I visited here yesterday. Very reasonable price to get in As we are pensioners. The first thing that hit you was the smell, not in a nasty way , it added to the experience, it made it feel like a dark prison cell which was fitting as the first thing we stumbled across was a prison cell. We spent a long time looking at all the interesting exhibits. It was a small museum but packed full of interesting things, some very gruesome accounts of murders. There is a small room showing interviews from Fred West, Denis Neilson and Charles Bronson. A real eye opener was the tiniest mobile phone that is smuggled into prison, you can tell how tiny it is if you see that is a normal size phone charger in photo. The chair of torture, didn't want to sit on that one🤣 I would certainly recommend for an interesting couple of hours.

This is a real crime….well the price is! Sad to say it really smells of cat pee and the place is filthy. There were some ‘curious’ exhibits including a tooth brush, an array of policeman’s buttons, not to mention Ronnie Biggs teeth, supposedly. The displays were epitomised by the bust of Laurel and Hardy (Kray Twins) and a mannequin of Freddie Mercury….sorry Charles Bronson. Have to say the highlight was the soundtrack to a film showing Fred West’s victims to Westlife’s banger Flying Without Wings. I’m sure there is a market for this sort of place, but it’s just not for me.

We visited the museum today. Me, my daughter and 11 year old grandson. We really enjoyed it. So much content and in depth stories of criminals. Police equipment over the years. I would definitely go back.. minus my grandson who got bored. He is a bit too young I feel.

The place is filthy. You cant see in the cases as the glass was so dirty. Honestly dont go, its so expensive. The smell, the lack of anything authentic. The same story told time and time again. If you like charles bronson, the great train robbery, time and time again. Awful, the worst exerience ever

Great little place, full of interesting artifacts, exhibited and information, the collator has clearly spent time sourcing materials for this little museum. It shows a time when crime was actually illegal in Britain, where criminals were punished for their crimes. And of course the whole venue is in a WWII air raid shelter, adding an even better experience. Price could be a little cheaper mind, 8.95, no concessions for disabled, and from a mobility point of view, at least some of the exhibits were up some stairs. Of course you also had to get down some stairs to enter and I don't think it should be changed as those stairs would have been used by people with wartime disabilities as a matter of life and death. Take your time, take someone to help you and enjoy the experience.

There are a lot of great pieces to see and some interesting facts however it did seem like a tribute to Charles Bronson/ Salvador. There also seemed to be a lot of opinions rather than facts. Its smelt damp and wasn’t very clean, there were no toilets and no escape room ( even though stated on brochure and website) It did feel like a ‘waste’ of £25 ( family pass) unfortunately.

I came with my 5 year old boy last Thursday afternoon. I don’t usually leave reviews but the lovely lady with glasses working that afternoon was so great with my son. She spoke to him about how nice his T-shirt was, he struggles with his speech at times and she took the time to try and understand what he was saying. She gave him sweets and even some to take home for his sister. I cannot thank you enough, he was talking about you all afternoon. An absolute credit to the play area :-)

I’m just having to write to say how disgusted I was by the customer service I received today. My daughter attended a party today and I had to bring my son along aswell. At the door I asked about food for him and was told I could order and ask for it to come out at the same time as the party food. When I then went to order food I was told you weren’t taking orders currently as the kitchen was too busy!!!! Right ok so one of my children can eat but the other can’t!!!! And then when I said I’ll just take a drink I was told it was £3 minimum on the card!!! I get a minimum but £3 is quite a lot and I wanted to spend more than £3 but couldn’t!!!!! I paid £9.50 for my son to get in for him not to be able to eat or drink anything. I’m absolutely disgusted.

Was once very good value but now it is very overpriced, especially for parents with multiple children. Whilst I understand the cost of living increases etc, it is still unreasonable at £9.50 per child… £8 per child would be more reasonable, especially as Adults are charged £1 each per visit too.

This is one of my fave soft play places. Very nice and spacious, well presented and lots of kids to play with up to the age of 10. There's a good selection on the menu to choose from and the staff are helpful and friendly. At the moment they have lots of pretty Christmas decorations up and a few festive additions to their menu...mince pies etc. My little girl loves going here. They also have the little tykes cars for them to play with. The toilet facilities are very clean and modern too.

We visited play cafe for the first time during half term . The play is on the main road so parking can be a bit hectic but there is a carpark near by. Once we were inside we found it was a really great place. There is a section for older kids and younger kids. The toddler area is separate so they don’t get overwhelmed by the big kids. Our girls loved it they both enjoyed playing in the baby area. The play centre has good cafe with a wide range of food. The staff are incredible and very friendly, one of our girls got attached to a ball and the kind staff let her take it, very greatful for that thank you 😊 Overall well worth a visit wonderful place

Went here for the first time yesterday. I cannot praise the place enough. Absolutely brilliant. Opens at 9:30, you can either buy just a play ticket, or they have various play and meal deals you can pay for. They have a good menu with a wide choice for children and adults. The main bit is a massive soft play area, with slides, tunnels, rope bridges and everything else you expect but on a bigger scale. They have a separate section for under 2's with a ball pool, disco ball, and squidgy blocks. There is a section for 2 to 4 year olds, and a section with a town on the floor and trucks to drive on it. There is a room in one side where a lady does a different craft each day the child can join in with my little one came home with a sunflower seed in a little pot he helped make. There are tables with puzzles and blocks, and a mini sofa with dolls. The facilities are excellent, plenty of seating and toilets with baby change and steps/mini toilets for the little kids. Go for yourself and see!

I recently stayed at Osborne Hotel in Torquay, and unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing from start to finish. First Impressions & Check-In At check-in, the receptionist, Emily, demanded a £100 fee without any clear explanation of what it was for. When I asked, she simply said that if I didn’t pay, I wouldn’t be given a room. This approach was cold, unfriendly, and completely unprofessional. It left me feeling unwelcome from the very beginning. Birthday Stay Overlooked I had emailed in advance to mention that I would be celebrating my birthday here. In other hotels around the world, staff always make at least a small gesture — a note, a kind word, or even a “happy birthday.” Osborne Hotel did nothing at all. After being out the whole day, I returned to find no acknowledgment whatsoever. What should have been a special and memorable stay instead felt ignored and forgotten. Housekeeping & Cleanliness The housekeeping was unacceptable. Most staff seemed untrained, perhaps students working temporarily, with no knowledge of proper hospitality. During almost a full week: My room was never hoovered. Towels were not replaced, just re-folded. Sheets were never changed. Cleaning was limited to dropping off toiletries. Basic cleanliness and guest care were simply ignored. Breakfast Experience Breakfast was very poor and lacked variety. It consisted of a very basic English breakfast — with no fresh options such as tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, cheese, or even a boiled egg. The menu offered a few dishes to order, but the taste was terrible (the poached egg, for example, came with a sauce so strong it was inedible). The coffee was even worse: just weak, watered-down filter coffee. If you wanted a proper coffee, such as a latte or espresso, you had to pay extra — something that should be standard in any hotel breakfast. This made the whole experience feel cheap and cost-cutting. Adding to this, the atmosphere was cold. Staff never smiled, greeted, or said good morning. The only exception was a lady named (I believe) Shandika, who was consistently warm and welcoming to all guests. Her kindness stood out in an otherwise unfriendly environment. Facilities The hotel facilities were another disappointment: The indoor swimming pool had cold water, making it unpleasant to use. The sauna was out of order. The outdoor pool was heated, but poorly positioned — surrounded by trees, meaning that in the afternoon there was hardly any sun, and guests spent most of the time in shade. It felt like poor planning with no consideration for the guest experience. Room Quality The room I was given felt like the worst in the hotel. Instead of a view, it looked out onto the back with only stairs in sight — not even a garden, not even greenery. This was especially frustrating since I had informed the hotel about my birthday in advance, hoping for at least a decent room. For a hotel that advertises itself as four-star, the amenities were shockingly poor. There were no slippers, no bathrobes, and not even a simple sewing kit provided in the room — all of which are standard expectations in a true four-star hotel. The lack of these basics reinforced the impression that the Osborne Hotel is cutting corners wherever possible. General Impression The hotel feels like it is running on a survival budget, cutting corners on every aspect of service, training, and facilities. The only redeeming feature was the view and panorama, but even that cannot justify the lack of hospitality, poor service, and basic guest care. Final Thoughts What should have been a memorable birthday stay turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the rude reception to the lack of cleanliness, poor breakfast and coffee, broken facilities, missing amenities, and complete indifference to special requests, I cannot recommend Osborne Hotel. 👉 Do not book this hotel.

We popped in today for a drink and little bit of lunch . My daughter is coeliac so can be tricky finding places to cater for her safely . As I went in to check the food , I was greeted by Oliver who was friendly and so helpful ! He checked the menu with the kitchen and let me know what could be done for her . She chose what she wanted and nothing was any trouble for them . Bar staff outside could do with speeding up a little , 2 people behind the bar but only 1 serving when there was about 5 people waiting . Other than that , a lovely afternoon in the sun and a nice surprise of some music too , the 2 singers were great !

Excellent hotel in a scenic location. It's at the top of a hill so, unless you really enjoy climbing, there's a couple of regular bus services and taxis back up from the town are around £6 plus tip. Beautiful views from the terrace bar. The food is really good. If you're not there on holiday don't expect fast service but enjoy and relax. The staff are great. Very helpful on reception. There are lots of facilities. Even an imperfect but fun putting green. Borrow the putters from reception. The hotel was busy but there's an overflow carpark so no struggle to park.

Room were dusty carpet burn door with hole! Hotel location and the amenities were fantastic and breakfast not much variety for the continental. Buts it’s do able the view and outside space was amazing.

I just wanted to share an update, as I am presently in the middle of a stay at the Hotel. This evening I had a 'Special' in the restaurant (although ate it in the bar whilst working on my laptop). It was the Pork tenderloin. It was simply the best meal I can remember eating for the last 5 years at least. Absolutely out of this world. I was savouring every bite, as I didn't want it to finish! I understand the Chef is a gentleman by the name of Tony. Could not recommend the food more highly! :)

Had a great experience for our anniversary, Emily and Annette were amazing in helping me to surprise my wife with flowers and champagne, room was amazing, fantastic views, the terrace bar staff were polite and very helpful, overall the staff,couldn't have done enough, our new favourite hotel,will definitely visit again, not forgetting the food, well worth the cost.

A beautiful, peaceful sanctuary that is tucked away from the world. No children or dogs. Plenty of squirrels and blackbirds.

I love this little gardens, been going for many years, lots of wildlife and flowers, my favourite is the Wisteria but u have to catch it at the right time, usually the beginning of May. The squirrels are so friendly and are always funny to watch 😊

This such a delight.. its very rare to find somewhere with no kids and no dogs!! It was so peaceful. The gardens are so well kept, and would definitely recommend a visit here... its tucked away, but worth a visit!

The room was large and comfortable enough. There was dog food from previous guest that we had to ask to be removed two or three times. The staff were friendly enough on reception, but the bar staff seemed a little inattentive and could be easy to feel ignored. Breakfast was nice but felt a little repetitive after a week,but it was freshly prepared. We would stay again if we were to visit Torquay again and we would recommend.

Very pleasant staff, very helpful the over all impression when you enter is that it is well kept however this is the first impression from the reception. Staff uniforms could be good to be updated or at least look new, one lady waiting tables had ladders up her tights every morning at breakfast. The indoor pool had grime all around the edge and they had painted over the original tiles to make it feel clean but it wasn’t. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel and staff needs to get some love and attention it would be a shame not to care about this place

Lovely hotel with very polite and helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely! Room was clean and a lovely comfy bed & pillows. Taking into account the age of the hotel it's in good condition with the odd updating here and there. Would definitely stay again.

I find no pleasure in writing a relatively negative review. However - sometimes, I believe it is called for! Firstly - I acknowledge the positive/favourable reviews. But this is a personal judgement based on MY experience. We decided to treat ourselves to a Suite - pricey, but we thought we deserved it! What an expensive mistake! It was, to be sure, spacious, with 2 reasonably sized bedrooms - and two bathrooms - very nice! But it was, otherwise, bland and characterless. Some of the furniture appeared shabby and tired. Our suite was named after one of my favourite composers - Edward Elgar - personally, I think it insulted him!! The evening meals ranged from good to dreadful - I had a steak that would have been better off on the sole of my shoe. We felt cheated and, VERY let down. Quite frankly, I felt as though I'd been "ripped off". Some treat!!!! On the plus side - and to be fair - most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, but, at times, there didn't seem to be enough of them. We will NEVER go back there! I only wish we could have been as satisfied as those who have been kinder, and, more positive. We left a day early, because we'd had enough. However - we had to pay for the full extent of the booking. It had to be honoured - but it hurt!

We were very excited about trip to the beach however our room was not cleaned properly and the swimming pool changing rooms were a disaster. Toilet roll everywhere and chewing gum in the sowers. I reported it to reception, saying they clean it everyday but the following morning it was still in the same state! To add to this the following morning a maintenance man tried to come in our room unannounced saying there was leak. I wouldn’t have minded a phone call but we were fast asleep which was a surprise! I have to say the dining room dinner was very good however and the only good about the place. I reported the room to the manager and had no review. I would definitely recommend doing an Airbnb instead until they improve their standards!

Located right by the beach (across a main road) in Torquay, right by the station. Great spot. But so is premier inn, which would have been cheaper than this. Our room had so many different slanty walls that sitting in the bathroom legitimately started making me feel dizzy. The room was tiny, no actual space to move. It was insanely hot, with only a tiny fan to help out. It was a very hot weekend, but the lack of air con was very problematic, for a predominantly summer destination. The shower curtain was mouldy. We had to ask for a hair drier since the attachment for one was in the room, but not an actual hair drier. We had rung down to reception. It arrived a few hours later. We were woken at 7am by the shattering sounds of all the glass recycling being dumped into a truck outside our window that was lovely. Dinner was lovely and acceptably priced and the service staff were also lovely, no issues. We did not use the swimming pools/gym/spa so no comment there. All in all, I'd have rather spent less to go to the premier Inn across the road which would be consistent rooms, not mouldy, and have air con. This was a good example of why "local" seaside hotels are struggling. There's nothing Grand about this hotel.

Been here twice now! Rooms are nice, they need a bit of TLC. Very old fashioned but good value for money. Bar staffing needs looking at, more interested in talking to themselves than working.

Very nice park combining a rock garden, formal garden, and open grass area with lots of seating. There is a pond at the east side and a Caffè on the west side. An Air Ambulance was using the open grass area for a medical emergency when I was there.

A beautiful park with a beachfront is a great place to sit and relax.

It had good pitch and putt course, which was very well maintained,but in act of typical shortsightedness has been closed by the council a newly resurfaced set of LTA tennis courts, a crazy golf course and an appallingly maintained bowling green. In addition there is a newly replanted award winning "italianate garden" and an open area with good views of the sea with a number of good quality picnic tables. Too many dogs for my liking

I've never really spent time here but my last visit i stopped, it was lovely stopping for a brew which was a fair price, but what I did find out you can also Suspend a coffee for someone less fortunate, which I found a fantastic idea ( which i did) if you visit make sure you stop the owner was brilliant and the coffee and cake were fantastic and who ever you suspend one for gets the same

Such a beautiful place, especially when it’s sunny out. It’s totally free to walk around however long you like, at any time of the day. Gorgeous scenery, the sea/beach is right next to it. There was a nice maze looking path with palm trees(3rd picture) which you couldn’t walk on unfortunately. A lot of tourists miss the little secret pathway with more flowers around.

Started great gumpy old man at the reception . But the lady there then immediately upgraded us room as we where on a long stay . Met with unprofessional maintainance men one threatened to harm me and my family as he looked drunk from the night before staff then came and said I had to leave i was already in a rush to remove my property . Didnt feel safe atmosphere is dreadful . There renovating the hotel as its just turned from an asylum hotel llike the neighboring hotels to public access but aslum hotels are still in plain site and are a magnet for antisocial behaviour . Half the hotel is not in use as it is not fit to use and the renovation is rushed some doors dont even close properly and im and experienced scriber, carpenter and contruction worker with valid qualifications another red flag. Staff have alot of rude questions this place just has many red flags . Don't think ill ever return to Torquay at this rate as I didn't feel welcome and simple room maintenance was too much to ask one day we had no hot water we didn't make it to the end of my stay I reported staff to the police . They kept offending me as being a guest there offended them . Security is poor and they have licencing issues and so on . I'd prefer paying extra 2 pound for premier inn breakfast its better quality i even had burnt mushrooms . Bacon some well cooked some under cooked like they had been grilled for 5 mins in a rush with someone with no cooking experience . Burned sausages . There are colleges near by with chefs wanting to proof there worth and willing to take an apprenticeship.

It's an older hotel, so even though I was on ground floor, I had lots of steps to go up end down, you really need a map to navigate it, room was a good size, though cold, even after closing the windows and turning radiator on, no blind in the bathroom, so not much privacy ;) lovely selection of vegan toiletries though, took me a while to get the shower working as the selector knob has seized, breakfast was buffet style, usual cooked food plus provided vegetarian options on request, white or brown toast, teas, coffees and juices, and a good selection of cereals. Friendly and helpful staff even when you rock up at 2 am ;)

Unfortunately, my stay at the hotel did not meet my expectations. I specifically selected this property based on the advertised availability of a swimming pool; however, both the outdoor and indoor pools were closed during the peak season in August. The parking described as “free” had only a limited number of spaces, which meant that I had to pay for parking for three consecutive days. The photos on Booking.com did not reflect the current condition of the property, and the terrace was closed. Overall, the hotel appeared to be in need of maintenance and refurbishment. The only clear advantage was the excellent location – very close to the beach and the city center

Do not book with this hotel! They don't respond to emails or phone calls. They did not inform us that all the pools and amenities were out of order (only reason we booked as kids love swimming) and they couldn't provide adjoining rooms (my son gets very anxious being away from his parents). When we tried to cancel the booking they charged us for 1 night which was nearly £200 because we could not make contact with them. We contacted Robinsons hotel group and they said the hotel is no longer part of their group (maybe due to poor quality). Highly recommend avoiding this place! Absolutely disgraceful especially when they are charging such a high price for a run down old hotel!

Can't really comment on this place as I was only dropping 2 people off for there holiday here. How ever on arrival a very nice female receptionist came out side and asked if she could help with the unloading and carrying of the luggage etc. Perfect so im giving it a 5 star all the way and will enquire on the building etc when I pick up for thier return in a week so I can then give comments on it on the whole.

Brilliant last minute booking in Torquay close to lots of amenities. Really comfortable bed, friendly staff and very very clean. I'll definitely be staying again!

I can't believe I've never been here before. It's not the biggest of beaches, but there is sand. Awesome views of the coastline and out to sea. Apparantly it's dog friendly too which is handy to some. Perfect for kids who want to collect shells. Seems to be a pill box/army bunker in the hills looking oit to sea(i maybe wrong).Perfect location for sun all day long! I really do recommend this place. And to get here you go through some beautiful well maintained gardens/park.

The place has a very beautiful view and the place is great for surf. However there is a sewage discharging right into the sea. People get in the water regardless, so it might not be harmful, but I found it gross.

Hallicombe Beach in Torquay is an absolute gem! The stunning red cliffs create a breathtaking backdrop against the clear blue waters, making it a perfect spot for relaxing and soaking up the scenery. The beach is clean, well-maintained, and ideal for both sunbathing and leisurely strolls along the shore. The calm, shallow waters are great for swimming, and it’s a peaceful escape from the busier nearby beaches. Whether you're looking for tranquility or a picturesque spot to enjoy with family and friends, Hallicombe Beach is a must-visit!

Perfect for dog walking in the winter! Nice beach to chill out at during the summer (maybe with a BBQ? Is that allowed?).

We can't say enough wonderful things about Graham and this fabulous tour, an absolute must for any Agatha Christie fan. Graham not only covered Agatha Christie's life but also included so many interesting little known anecdotes and facts about her and her family. Graham also covered local history of Torquay, he patiently answered questions and pointed out numerous other spots of interest in this beautiful area. We were also given time to sit, rest and use facilities. The tour took over two hours which just flew by, we also had a lovely group of people on our tour. We are already planning our trip back to Torquay àt this same time next year and hopefully do another tour with Graham. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience.

This was honestly one of the best walking tours I've ever been on. I think it would be interesting to people who aren't even fans of Agatha Christie. Graham was incredibly patient with all our questions, very knowledgeable and managed to have the perfect mix of humour and silliness throughout the tour to keep it varied and interesting. He really seemed like an expert on Agatha and I felt encouraged to read more of her books and watch more of the tv adaptations. He also used pictures as well as the locations on the tour itself, which really helped to bring life and colour to the stories he told. Thank you so much Graham. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Torquay. 10 out of 10

Our tour guide was Graham and what a guide he was. Tour started an hour or so before sundown and it was great to experience the history of the area and to walk a bit along the coastline as the sun began to set. 0% chance we could have experienced this on our own. Our guide showed us crucial historical bits that we would have easily walked past without noting. He paced the tour to our groups interests and speed. Thanks.

We've been on 3 of the walks this year and they were all absolutely brilliant! The scenery was stunning, the information shared was so interesting, and the leaders were fantastic! We'll definitely be coming back again next year!

Had a great time as a group of 11 + 2 dogs to celebrate a birthday. We split into two groups and were able to enjoy two seperate rooms simultaneously. Really nice environment, very relaxed and friendly. 100% recommend when in Torquay

I organised this as part of a work wellbeing/teamwork exercise. They were very accommodating and opened early for us. They organised two rooms for our group and everyone had a great time. I would definitely come back and recommend

Booked as a group of 4 - did the Gunpowder room. Fun way to spend an hour and seemed well timed & puzzles thought out. Little bit rough around the edges in comparison to other Escape Rooms we've done. Hosts were friendly and helped when needed. Was a shame that multiple elements in our room were broken or faulty, so wasted time "solving" puzzles again when we had already it done it first time. We were warned this may happen in our initial briefing, but it is not a cheap activity so disappointing it happened at all. E.g. chess board, cupboard door. Especially when the host comes in to fix it and says "Oh yeah, this happened last time as well".

Absolutely great escape room, and the owner seemed very nice and helpful. The human interaction was also great. The rooms are made exactly for 50-60 minutes making it thrilling and giving you a lot of adrenaline as the time comes to the end.

I have done many escape rooms and this one was awful! The staff were uninterested added no atmosphere, there was no atmosphere within the room itself, looked like a 10 year only just stuck clues on the wall. Clues were pretty rubbish. We had to set our own timer on our phones for the 60mons, if we needed a clue the staff came in to the room which really ruined any atmosphere. Would not recommend don't spend £40 when you can get a WAY better experience for that money at literally any other escape room.

Great experience, cheery staff and a decently challenging gunpowder plot puzzle requiring some gentle guidance from the staff but managed within 55 minutes! Only reason for 4/5 instead of 5/5 is due to the room itself being quite damaged from previous escapees and it seemed duck tape and upside down leaflets were the answer which did pause the suspension of disbelief a little which could be an easy fix - only other thing which the group agreed it is far too hot in the room itself cracking a window or a fan would do wonders especially considering it the group size could be up to 6 and as 4 we quickly became very hot.

Did the ‘Sherlocked’ escape room experience, great setup, challenging but achievable, the 4 of us thought it was great. Jo the host was great, this one’s a hidden gem.
