This is an incredible place with excellent service, cozy yet lively atmosphere and really delicious food and drinks. We visited in the evening, so we had some trouble finding a spot since we hadn’t reserved in advance (something to keep in mind!), but they kindly suggested we return in an hour and a table would be available for us. The menu is extensive, with plenty of vegetarian options which is fantastic. As appetizers we chose the Grilled halloumi and avocado salad and a small portion of Creamy pumpkin soup. The salad was really good, the halloumi was especially tasty, as well as pumpkin soup. I did notice some pieces in the soup that looked like meat, so I double-checked with the staff and they explained it was chestnut which cleared things up for me — since I don’t eat meat this was important to know. For mains we decided on the Stuffed & Baked Potato with tuna and Halloumi Burger. Both dishes were incredibly tasty, with generous portions and great ingredient combinations. The potato was especially impressive, large with a cheesy crust that looked amazing and tasted delicious. The halloumi burger also included greens, vegetables and caramelized onions which made a perfect combination. These dishes left us very satisfied. I also want to highlight the service, the waitstaff were friendly and attentive, checking in to make sure we enjoyed everything. It’s always a pleasure to experience such an excellent service. Overall, this place has everything at a high level and I highly recommend a visit. Just be sure to reserve a table in advance!

Excellent experience. Ordered chicken strips for appetizers, their special - baked stuffed potatoes for the main dish and lava cake for dessert. The food was prepared perfectly, both visually and regarding the taste. The portions are really big. Everything was extremely tasty. And the price was reasonable for what we got. Our waitress was also excellent, top service, very pleasant.

Very friendly staff, speaks English. We came spontaneously on a Saturday night and only waited 5 Minutes for a table. Food is delicious and you can see the effort, they also customised a vegetarian dish to be vegan. You sit very comfortably on couches which can be a bit tricky for smaller people but totally fine. Had chance to visit the place this late afternoon. I would say - pretty nice. Authentic ambience, great variety and careful selection of vines, short list for food but really tasteful. This is one of the musts in Liepāja. We finally had a chance to visit this small, yet unique wine bar, and I must say – it's perfect. French vibes, super artistic and stylish, yet cozy. Had good coffee and delicious French red wine. The waiter was also friendly. The music – on point. Really great vibes, cannot emphasize this enough.

This place is open on weekdays between 16-22. We booked a place the next day at 16.00. When we arrived at the place on the day of the reservation the place was closed, but the local worker waited for us with a letter of apology from the owner and a bottle of wine. We ordered a place again the next day. We arrived on time, but the owner who was there threw us out by saying that the restaurant was invited to a group of 15 people and there was no place. Such places have no right to exist and will soon be bankrupt. It is also what we wish them

I am always about good service! But this time I saw how too much “good service” can be very bad. My friend and I went to the restaurant for lunch. It was around 4.30 pm at Friday. The waiter told me that she is not sure that the kitchen is working. Really? Not sure? At Friday? After we got the table the owner of the restaurant did’t gave us even five minutes to check the menu. He was very intrusive and persistent and didn’t listened, when I declined the snails 3 times and that I asked to give us some time to decide... after one minute he was back and started the same with the drinks pushing us to chose his preferences. The prices are very high. Pasta with shrimps 15 EUR! The pasta was good, but not for that price. My conclusion - this place is overrated. Liepāja is very nice city and you can find lot of some others places to have lunch or dinner.

After the King Suite with a bathtub, which cost us 162 euros, was denied to me and my guests, by the hotel staff, 32 days later, we have been promised a 28 EUR refund for the price difference between Room 205 and Room 302. How generous ! We had asked for a 100 EUR compensation, actually, as well as a formal apology in writing via the local police. The MAESTRO DESIGN HOTEL still don't seem to understand.

Went to the restaurant for a coffee and dessert. Were seated outside. The terrace is just awesome with a lovely music. Desserts were absolutely gorgeous ( both the taste and aspect ). Yes the place is overpriced especially for Liepaja. But the ambience, staff and desserts worth it if you want a bit of something special in this city.

A very nice, quiet and pleasant stay although the hotel is located in a very busy area of the city. The location is perfect if you are visiting the concert hall of Liepāja - Lielais dzintars. The hotel is rather small but that gives you a feeling of privacy and exclusivity. Also, the hotel offers luxury breakfast experience.

Ah, where to begin? The place looks fantastic — the kind of spot that makes you think, “This might actually be good.” Spoiler: it isn’t. The staff had the energy of people being held there against their will. Smiles? Manners? Even the bare minimum of service? Extinct species, apparently. As for the food — well, if overpriced disappointment is your thing, you’re in for a treat. The nuggets (yes, the ones proudly made from “real chicken fillet”) were so over-fried and greasy they could’ve been passed off as seafood. The fries? Limp, lifeless, and somehow managed to taste of nothing and regret. Half the meal went straight in the bin. The burger, made from “proper beef,” had all the flavour of a wet napkin. Quite a talent to make meat taste like air. To sum up: beautiful setting, tragic execution. We won’t be back — and unless you enjoy paying premium prices for culinary confusion and awkward service, you shouldn’t either.

Worst restaurant ever. 1h30 min waiting for our order. Not even sure that we will be refunded (we decided to leave). Not even some excuses from the waiters, but just threats because of 2 beers that were (supposed to be ) refunded and we had drunk while waiting our food that long - What a service, .... Disaster. Visited this place on a Sunday evening, it wasn’t too crowded, so we didn’t make a reservation as it closed fairly early. The menu was quite extensive offering a good selection of food and drinks. We ordered a passion fruit and kiwi lemonade and a winter drink special similar to mulled wine but made with white wine and apple. For appetizers, we chose the Romaine salad with prawns and the Baked cheese salad with green lentils, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and mustard chili dressing. We enjoyed both starters and the first salad was especially filling. For our main courses we ordered the national dish, “Liepājas Menciņi” — smoked cod with potatoes, onions, dill, and cream, cooked in a pot. It was servers with a lovely presentation. As well we ordered the Breaded pike perch fillet baked in the oven served with couscous and mango-chili sauce. Both dishes were delicious and we really enjoyed them. However, I was disappointed by the cod as it contained lots of small bones, which made it actually dangerous to eat. Our waitress was pleasant, though we had to remind to bring water after our initial request. Additionally, there was no follow-up to check if we enjoyed our dishes and the response to the issue with the fish bones was limited to a comment that they would inform the kitchen. Overall, we enjoyed the food and drinks, the atmosphere was pleasant as well, but unfortunately, the bones in the cod were a significant drawback.

This place beat my expectations. Great fish soup, excellent butterfish. Pretty central location, not a long wait and friendly staff. The prices were ok and definitely worth it.

Very nice restaurant. The outside is deceiving as it appears to be a random building with a rather old sign. However, on the inside the atmosphere is very welcoming. You order at the bar. The English menu is found only on a qr code, so make sure your devices are charged. The food is very good and for about ~8€ you get very big portions. I've tried both the large, standard and small meals and in my eyes the only thing that was smaller was the plate😅. I've eaten here 3 days in a row so I definitely recommend it. In the pictures there are the standard portion chicken grill and small portion pork carbonade with cheese and onions.

Cheapest cheese which does not melt, on top. Fries covered with meat, and soaked with oil. Salad is poor. Beer is nice. But expensive. Staff lady, was ignorant when i tried to order in English. "Tolka pa rusky". Never again. Bypass this place.

The first stop when we arrived in Liepāja Old Town was lunch at the wonderful Doka Pica restaurant that we found via a Google search. It's a very unassuming family orientated restaurant with a reputation for serving large portions of hearty food at very reasonable prices. There's a self service section on the ground floor and waitress service on the 1st floor where we chose to sit. I had a small meatball soup (Potatoes, minced meat, carrots, cream, onions) as a starter, fried beef liver with chips for my main course and a tiramasu for desert with 2x cuppas tea. My wife just had a beef goulash with roasted potatoes and salad for her main course with 0.5l of the delicious Valmiermuiza beer. The food was fantastic and great value at just 35.30 EUR for all the food & drinks we had. My beef liver was the best liver dish I've eaten and it was served with proper hand cut chips🤗😋 We were served by a young, friendly & helpful waitress so I left her a 5 EUR tip😉

I went to the second floor of the resturant and the view was amazing. I got salami pizza with fetaki cheese and mulled wine, my partner got pineapple ham thick pizza. They were absolutely amazing and the prices were very affordable.

It was so busy there was no waiting at the table, the reason for it being so busy was the good food, big portions and fair prices.

Quite a spacious place with lots of sitting room for large or small groups. There’s outdoor and indoor sittings and drinks are quite affordable. I was there on a Sunday night and wasn’t quite engaging as I heard it is on Friday and Saturday nights. Definitely a place to check out and do try some of their cocktails!

Absolutely inconsiderate! This club blasts extremely loud music all night until morning, with bass so intense that sleep is completely impossible, even with closed windows. It’s unbelievable that this is even allowed! The owners clearly don’t care about anyone around. If you want to experience a night full of unbearable bass vibrations and no sleep, this is the place for you.

I LOVED the place!! It’s really authentic and not touristy. We went in at 11pm for a live music night for a €5 fee. The place had a variety of local beers on tap, I paid something like €4.5 for 0.5l, so the price was really fair. The concert started half an hour late but went on for 1.5h up until 1am.

Really nice and cozy place. 3 stars only because we were with family and kids wanted to watch some TV. It worked, but all channels were dubbed in russian! WHY? We did not find how to change language. Even the hotel reception employee could not change the language. The channels could be in original language, but WHY on earth russian?

Another weekend spent here and it feels like a dream home - worth the price! This time stayed at the apartment house with shared kitchen - design is very lovely and original, kitchen is good and useful, the rooms are warm. We love the place, could hardly leave, but definitely will come back!

VERY BAD experience! The hotel staff didn’t inform us that in the “garden” heavy metal music plays until 2AM! And it plays loud! Our room window was just near the speaker. This was driving mad not only me but also my 7 years old child. I called to reception to ask to lower down the volume because it is impossible to sleep and in the room tries to sleep also my 7 years old child but the cheerful guy on the phone promised “to do something” and nothing had changed. The torment went on until 2AM! But that’s not all – the music started playing at 8AM! So you can imagine how much sleep we had after intensive day visiting Liepaja. I am not against the music but I didn’t come here to music festival. The hipster staff didn’t give a damn that together with me there is also a small child. Thank you for the “hospitality” - we are really impressed how you “care” about the guests and run the business! Liepaja – is very attractive place and I am sure to come back to this nice and pleasant town.

No discussions about it, it's quirky and different then a regular hotel. Room was nice, hipster vintage style, clean. Kinda hot on the top floor, no ac in rooms but there is a small an to plug in. Mind you nearby there is a "pubs districs" and they might play music in the evening or night. Overall nice stay evn tho the beds are old as the forniture.

Great place highly recommended, well located close to nice night places and close to the city center. The sea is not far too and can be reached walking or by bus too. The hotel is really worth to see by itself, all rooms are decorated with cool items and colors, all nicely mixing together. Breakfast is OK and staff really helpful!

This is the night I learned to read reviews before going in. Took bloody ages, really, really long time. Turns out the place doesn't own a kitchen, relies on the joint next door. The joint next door thinks hot pepper is the main ingredient in tom yam (after water), throws in shrimp and sliced mushroom out of pure generosity. The kid liked their cheeseburger, but "cheese" part of it resembled a large postal stamp. Large potato wedges weren't too large either. They didn't skimp on ketchup, I have to give them that.

I ordered sweet and sour chicken with rice, but honestly, there was hardly any chicken in the dish. It was mostly pineapple and onion mixed with rice, and just a few tiny scraps that were supposed to be chicken. The food was served cold, and you even have to pick it up yourself, more like in a cheap takeaway place than in a diner. Prices are low, but there’s basically nothing worth eating here. On top of that, we had to wait nearly half an hour, even though the place was completely empty. To be fair, the staff member who took our order was polite and friendly - no complaints there. But everything else was just a waste of time. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place for food at all. Maybe it works better just as a spot for drinks or late-night partying, but definitely not for a proper meal.

I don't want to wallow in bad memories so won't go into specific detail but I will say, Louie, maybe consider paying your staff a bit better so you can actually employ people who know what ~service~ means and have the slightest interest in their job. We regrettably visited this place on the 08/09/24 while visiting Liepāja in hopes to have a nice dinner. I patiently waited for 2,5 hours for them to fix the order that they got wrong however never got my food at the end. At least had some enternainment watching the seagulls and the local alkies clearing the tables outside as none of the staff bothered themselves with it. The place was not busy at all. I had a really delicious vegetarian burger, Mr. Popeye! The menu has 3 vegetarian burgers and other vegetarian specialities. Service was quick, friendly and helpful. Music was a nice choice of rock classics. Extra plus for the location and the atmosphere.

Burger was good- definitely super fresh which was awesome. I would however recommend adding some jalapenos or an additional sauce to make the burgers stand out more! As a plain cheese burger it’s nice. The spicy sauce with the fries was awesome!
