I visited Latvia for the first time, and if you're looking to experience local food, this is definitely the place! There was a wide variety of choices, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is amazing for kids. I would definitely return.

Very delicious food 🥘 – always fresh, hearty, and homemade-style. The halls are always clean, cozy, and filled with the amazing smell of food. In my opinion, this is the most atmospheric dining place in Riga! And the pancakes 🥞 at Lido are pure love ❤️. I like to joke that they’re the reason to come back to Latvia again and again.

A place every tourist must experience. Variety of food while in a very Latvian atmosphere. Rich Latvian cuisine, servers in national folklore outfits. You can put anything on your plate but will pay accordingly per item. Paid parking - which you pay for while paying for your food.

This is one best food places in Riga. Do not overload your plates and your tummy will be happy afterwards! Affordable and very tasty. Can get busy and peak times but plenty odnspace to sit down outside and downstairs if weather not on your side. Highly recommended! Everyone will find something for themselves.

Must come place! Huge variety of high quality food items including vegetarian meals. In one place you could try Baltic, Latvian, Russian, Ukrainian, Scandinavian dishes. And you won't believe how affordable they are! Three stories high, free parking, free public washrooms. Incredible architectural design - all wooden structures, made from huge logs.

Latvian famous restaurant chain, it is a must do when visiting Riga. The food is ok, don’t expect 5 stars meal. It’s an affordable self restaurant place and the food is good for canteen style place! Pleasant experience

Very cheap okay quality buffet style food. Great atmosphere with local music and people dancing the night away. 1hour walk/€6 taxi from old town. Most but not all signage for food etc was in both Latvian and English. Would recommend largely for the atmosphere.

Visited in Sep 2025 Folkklubs Ala Pagrabs was recommended to us as the most popular bar amongst locals. Therefore decided to pay a visit after dinner. Conveniently located in the old town of Riga, this watering hole is a truly happening place. We tried a few Latvian beers which were quite good. Didn’t try any food as we visited the place after dinner, but there is a proper food menu for those wanting to visit this place for food & drinks. You should surely try the local Latvian beers available on tap here. I would definitely recommend visiting this local watering hole if you want to experience a local bar scene and want to try some proper Latvian beers.

We had such a great time that we went back twice. It was full both times so we ended up at the bar but we had a great time there. They do have great garlic bread but the meal servings are so large that it might be a mistake to order it too. All the food we had was really good, and we tried a huge variety of drinks: the lager tasting flight, hot Riga black balsam in red currant juice (the way to do it), the local moonshine (infused liquor), the burning beer (very good for sipping!), a local cider, and an anise-flavored liquor that was very sweet. Our bartender, Laura, gave a ton of context and suggestions and we were lucky to run into her both times. There was also live music and the atmosphere was great. Great place to eat and hang out for a while. Prepare to be flexible if you don’t make a reservation. It got pretty noisy on Saturday night but not to a bad level.

This place was recommended by our local tour guide. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant. I ordered the grilled pork ribs in beer marinate and it was hands down one of the best dish I’ve ever had. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and melted in my mouth. Also our waitress recommended the traditional battered chicken fillet folk club style, which was creamy and juicy inside. We loved their ginger beer (ingwer beer). It was refreshing and a perfect pairing either way our meals. The waitress was incredibly attentive, friendly and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Highly recommend!

Love this place. Must visit if you in Riga. Authentic place with amazing food and service! Located in seller with plenty of space, better to book for dinner especially for weekend,but u may be in luck for free table and always can pop in for drink. Recommended!

Lovely pub with live music every day! Delicious food and huge beer selection! Recommend:) we go here every Wednesday for folk dancing! Definitely try the honey beer while you’re here. If you’re in more than 2 people it’s better to make a reservation as it’s quite popular. And be aware, it is very very warm inside!

Amazing place. A must visit when you come to Riga. We were lucky - that evening there was a live band concert - the performers are unreal, exciting and do not let you be sad. Great place, easy to find, right in the old town. I recommend booking a table during an event - a place to sit is guaranteed. The waiters are nice and helpful, fast. The menu has a large selection - both food and drinks. We tasted everything and shared dishes. The portions are large in my opinion. The food is very, very tasty.

This is a must go place when visiting Riga..!!! Had visited the place for dinner around 7:30 pm and oh boy the place had a fantastic vibe…!!! The staff here is extremely helpful they arranged a table even though the place was full…!! The best part is there was a live band playing songs…!!! If you like great food at a reasonable price, the central market is waiting for you. SO MUCH FOOD! Everything was fresh and was as alluring to the nose as it was to the palate. So much variety, you will hardly know where to start. It's even fun if you're not hungry... just walk around and take it all in. Definitely recommend!

The best open market I’ve ever visited. Traditional meeting the modern in a wonderful mix. Vegetables, fruits, nuts fish, poultry, beef, clothes and lot of other things. I will be back.

I visited Riga Central Market, and it was such a vibrant experience. The market is huge and full of life you can find just about everything here, from fresh flowers and local foods to meats, cheeses, spices, and handmade goods. It’s a great place to discover authentic Latvian flavors and everyday life. The market is set inside historic old Zeppelin hangars, which gives it a unique and impressive atmosphere. Each pavilion specializes in different products, making it easy to explore and sample a wide variety of items. I especially enjoyed seeing the fresh produce stands and traditional Latvian treats. It’s not just a place to shop—it’s also a cultural experience, perfect for walking around, tasting, and soaking in the local vibe. Nice and quick lunch spot in the gastronomy market they have different restaurants where you can have local food and buy local cheeses and souvenirs. A nice quick stop in the city. Haven’t take any picture of the dumplings but they were very good.

Great place to sample the local food. There are plenty of fruit and veg stalls, flower stalls and clothing stalls as well as a food market inside. They sell all the traditional dishes for extremely reasonable prices so a great way to eat like the locals. It’s a vibrant, buzzing area that’s definitely worth a visit.

Really big market with so much variety. There are different halls dedicated to different types of goods (the meat hall, the fish hall, etc). There's a hall that has eateries, and there are other retain shops throughout. Outside there are fresh fruits and vegetables as well as flowers. Definitely a must visit location for anyone visiting Riga.

A very unique market where each of the four large hangars offers something different, with wonderful caviar, meat, and fish products for sale, and outside, a marketplace and florists. I really liked it.

Yes! Yes! Yes! - bagels 10/10: they are REAL chewy yet soft (not just donut shaped bread) and freshly made, and so are their fillings - I was there early Sunday morning and they were prepping in full swing. - prices 10/10: it seems they forgot that inflation exists (check photo). - inclusivity 10/10: LOTS of vegetarian, pescetarian, vegan options available. - taste 10/10: I bought plain ones for home (1,5 eur each) and they even taste great thawed from the freezer! - atmosphere 8/10: it's a small space with only two tables, so a romantic dinner wouldn't be your best bet. Go in, have an amazing bagel (actually have two!), continue touring Riga. Overall mostly recommend for two things: taste and value for money.

Probably a bit touristy but that's the old town for ya. Was fun to try the different balsams on offer in a dark, quirky but fun atmosphere. Definitely should have tried the chocolates but that will be for next time. Just a fun little experience even if it's catered towards tourists.

Gorgeous building with incredibly detailed interior architecture filled with the warmth of candles, old timber, brass, cast iron, artisan chocolates, locally made drinks and friendly staff. OVERALL: Highly recommend. I went back a few times and strongly suggest it as a great tucked away place where you can hear and hold conversations with larger groups of friends/family... Easily seating 10+ or couples or even as a unique business meeting environment.

Visited in Sep 2025 The Black Magic bar in old town is the most popular bar in Riga due to its menu full of items made using Riga Black Balsam. They have a full cocktail menu where Balsam is one of the ingredients in the drinks, and also have food items where Balsam is a component. We ordered a couple of cocktails (the Black Mojito and the Fresh Black Cranberry) both of which were good. Also ordered a few chocolate truffles which I would also recommend ordering, as they were fantastic. However, if you want to buy bottles of Balsam, you’re better off buying it from a supermart (Rimi) then here because the prices are cheaper in the supermart. Service was fine. We did not have a reservation and did a walk in, and were able to get a seat immediately. But this place can get a bit crowded, and therefore visiting during peak hours may be better with a reservation. Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to the Black Magic Bar when you’re in Riga for trying a few cocktails.

This place looks amazing inside, and the atmosphere gets even better with the candlelight. I went in to make a short break from exploring the city and it was an experience in itself. I really enjoyed sitting and relaxing here for a bit. The only downside is that the truffles did not meet my expectations, so I would suggest skipping them altogether and just enjoying a cup of coffe.

By chance, we landed here and were actually offered two vegan options for chocolate! The service was very nice and warm, and their historical outfits were top-notch! The interior design is great and it's very quiet, which is really good after a long discovery tour downtown. We really enjoyed it, thank you!

This place is themed and a tourist hotspot, but it is done well, and the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is celebratory. They specialise in sweet treats and the local drink Balsam - try the cherry before the classic to ease you in. Can't recommend enough, real candles, a wonderful aesthetic and friendly welcome - what more could you want. Plenty of seats inside and through the back.

Incredible interior! Helpful staff, cheap food and central location. It's inside the train station. The couches are made of concrete. Hundertwasser and Gaudi would have been proud. Our table neighbors brought their own bottle of vodka, but I don't know if that's a regular thing. It added a lot to the atmosphere. Harry had a hard time deciphering the menus, which resulted in him not eating dumplings at a dumpling only restaurant. Instead he had a vegetable soup that tasted "nice, no, wait - great".

It's a fast food place located inside the train station (in fact it's under the railways). You can have soup and/or dumplings (price depends on the weight of your dish: 200g=2.4€). You are allowed to mix different kind of pasta with several sauces. Employees don't speak much English, but they are very helpful. I recommend it if you want a cheap and quick meal.

Those ravioli (also known as pelmeni) were barely warm and literally tasteless. Definitely not worth the price. You'd better to grab some extra large kebab for the same money at any other place nearby.

Beautiful place that reminds me of a psychedelic trip from some old childrens movie. The food is overly pricy for being the cold, doughy and overcooked messes they were. This place is a disgrace for using the word pelmen on something this tastless. Visit for the appearance if you like weird, but don't think you'll enjoy any pelmenis here.

Cold food and staff no help. They told us that's how it is. €16 for two of us and can't eat it. Avoid this place, bad food and shocking service!!!

Assumption is the mother of all mistakes. I got here, got some coffee and pointed to two different buns. One plain and one with blueberries. Or do I thought, basing it on what I saw. Got the coffee, sat down and… the plain bun was stuffed with bacon. Went to the blueberry one, but that was filled with what I think was some kind of olive mix. Can’t blame the proprietors for my mistake. But it was a mistake for sure. At least the coffee was fine 🙃

Wanted breakfast and most places don't open to till early but stumbled into this shop which opens at 730am lucky for me. I didn't know what to order and went for galas, and after I took a bite I realized it was filled with meat 🙃. It was chicken after I enquired, they also have cheese and spinach. The chicken one and the cheese one tasted lovely and they were still warm as they were freshly baked. Apparently the oldest bakery in Latvia. The coffee in the other hand was just OK. Lots of seating.

One of my favorite bakeries I've visited! So many different sweet and savory pastries. My favorite one was the Cinamon pastry. The seating was also very comfortable and nice and also very affordable prices for such a good quality.

A nice cozy place to sit and get breakfast, brunch or snack at. Since it is not a café but a bakery, the coffee isn't great, but the pastries and cakes (also some specifically Latvian ones) are absolutely delicious, so I do recommend. :)

Today 19/06/25 the women worked in this Martina Bekereja try to earn more money 🤑 than the actual price of the products we bought. She charged us more items than the one's we bought. We came back and she didn't even say sorry... Very bad behaviour..... She thought that she is more clever than us...

Visited Rozengrāls with my friend and we were absolutely amazed! ✨ The food was very delicious, beautifully and uniquely presented. The whole atmosphere is magical – medieval-style interior, candlelight, waiters in period costumes – it truly feels like stepping back in time. 🏰 A wonderful place to enjoy not only a great meal, but also a unique experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something special and unforgettable! 🌟

Very luxurious and posh, but authentic place. The waiters and the entire staff are dressed in medieval clothes. The whole atmosphere corresponds to that age. The menu includes dishes prepared according to ancient recipes, as well as salads for those who eat little :) I recommend sharing some dishes with several people - the portions are sufficient. It is worth visiting just for the atmosphere and be sure to order at least one authentic dish. It seems like you have entered a museum :)

Visited in Sep 2025 Rozengrals is one of the most famous restaurants in Riga and decided to pay a visit for dinner during my trip to Riga. The restaurant is very conveniently located in the Old Town. The restaurant has a very medieval cellar type of feel, and as a result offers a very unique ambience for a dining experience. Almost felt like I am having dinner in one those tavern they showed in Game of Thrones 🙂 The food menu has quite a few item to choose from. We didn’t order any starters or snacks, and just ordered 2 mains (the catfish filet and the rabbit meat stew). The portion sizes were more than decent and us 2 pax weren’t able to finish the 2 dishes in entirety. For dessert, we ordered the sea buckthorn and quince cake which was really good. For drinks, we ordered a couple of beers. Their regular draft beer is quite nice. Service was ok, a bit on the slower side but that’s understandable as the restaurant can get quite crowded. I had made a reservation from beforehand (by calling them), and would recommend making a reservation due to the popularity of this place. Overall, it was a decent dinner. It wasn’t the best food I had in Riga but it was definitely one of the better overall experiences given the ambience and decor of the place. Just because of its unique environment, I’d definitely recommend folks visiting Riga to have a meal (lunch or dinner) at Rozengrals.

I felt transported back in time to the Middle Ages. What a brilliant idea for an experience not just a restaurant. The moment you walk down the stairs, it felt eerie like stepping back in time. The live music enhanced the atmosphere, they were brilliant. The food was tasty and big portions as well. Definitely worth a visit.

We were also amazed by the portion sizes and the finger-licking good food that just melted in our mouths. What a fantastic spot! All the great reviews are absolutely right — so glad we came. If you love foie gras, game meat, or beautifully crafted cocktails, this place is a must. Even if you’re just after a great steak, you’ll be happy here. The food is top quality, prepared with care, and the service is outstanding — friendly, warm, and professional. I loved the wild pigeon with foie gras, my husband was blown away by the wild deer, and the monkfish with bisque was amazing too. The foie gras dish alone is worth the visit! Cocktails are excellent — try the “Sip of Italy” — and the wine list is spot on. Dessert was lovely, though I was pretty full by then :) Wish we’d found this place earlier. Just go — and make sure you book!

Excellent choice of meat in a fancy ambiente. We enjoyed the quality food and the drinks and had a chilled evening with our children. The price tag is a bit (too) high - roughly 50 Eur for a piece of meat without sides can be found cheaper for equal quality. Service was friendly and attentive.

We had a wonderful dinner at Chef’s Corner! Everything was absolutely delicious — we tried cold appetizers, tartare, carpaccio, and scallops, and every dish was perfect. The cocktails were excellent too. Special thanks to our waiter, Jānis, for his attentive and friendly service — he made the evening even better. We definitely want to come back again and highly recommend this place to everyone!

A great experience! The staff was very professional and welcoming. Food - excellent🌱☀️ was a pleasure to see diverse menu that caters carnivore, pescatarian and even vegetarian diets. We had aloo samosas for starter, bhungan curry and murgh makhani- both were delicious. Thick sauces with tomatoes, great spicing and heat. We also welcomed the suggestions for how much to order - I think we would have over ordered otherwise!

We visited during a summer day, family dinner. Great and attentive service. Genuine-tasting Indian food as far as we could tell. Above average but not the best we’ve had. Everyone was satisfied. The venue has a modern more sleek look to it, a bit uninspiring if you’re hoping for a cozy atmosphere. There was a tv in the corner with a video loop of different random Mediterranean locations which was fine but didn’t further help set an Indian tone to the venue. Probably just a temporary occurrence but when we visited the whole restaurant was very warm. Probably around 30°C. Overall, if you’re in Riga and in the mood for some Indian food - the taste will satisfy you.

Went for family lunch in late December. Amazing food and service. We loved all dishes. We had some Murgh chicken, curry prawns, lamb and garlic naan with yogurt. Also the traditional spiced tea is very tasty and fragrant and very warming - just what you need for Baltic winter. We will be back when next in Riga.

Service was amazing and fun. We were asked the level of wanted spice we wanted and got what we wanted. Food was hot and also the amazing garlic bread. Price wise also good! Would dine here again in the future if I was visiting Riga.

We had a great experience eating here! We ordered the butternut squash soup, Murgh tikka masala, murgh makhani, kheer and mango passionfruit cheesecake. Everything was really delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Vibey food court with lots of options. Located at the top of the shopping centre, offers nice views of the city. Option to sit outside on the balcony. Lots of seating inside. Pizza was great, chewy dough, lots of toppings. Chicken baos were flavourful and the bao was fluffy.

Good place nice view. Fine choice of different metal and kitchen. But still feels a bit cheep. Hard to tell what is it. They try to escape feeling of a food court, and thy succeed 55% :) Worth to come for a lunch.

Absolutely fantastic place! Perfect for groups who all want something different and you cannot choose where to go. Here everyone can choose their own food to their likings and friends can sit together. But... There is a big flaw. There are only 2 toilets for 10+ restaurants and bars. There's always a que behind the toilets.

Atmospheric food court with cool and fresh design at the top floor of shopping center Galerija Centrs. The place has stunning views to rooftops of Old Riga and terrace to be enjoyed on warmer seasons. I especially enjoy it on Saturdays early evenings, it’s vibrant and mostly full. I suggest sitting around bar area, near the terrace, the best vibe is there. Service differs at places, having from terrible to terrific. But for food court the main things are food and atmosphere and these are great. Food variety will suit everyone-burgers, pizzas, tacos, bao buns, pokes, asian noodles, sushi, hinkali, classic “home” food, etc. Plus great bar for cocktails, wine or fresh oysters. My favorite food spots are Vínkalni pizza and Hachapuri bistro.

Bit of a small place but they are friendly and welcoming. The burgers are absolutely delicious and I regret only having them once whilst in Riga. I can’t even begin to describe how tasty they were and how much I enjoyed it. Overall, I feel like I’ve seen the whole of Riga but I would fly back in just for more of these burgers — that’s how much I loved it. Highly recommend the Mush Magic and don’t skip the fries! They’re perfectly crispy and seasoned.

Absolutely blown away by my visit to Wall St Burgers & Sushi! I came in curious and left completely impressed. I ordered three sushi rolls and one nigiri, and every single bite was perfection — incredibly fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and flavors that hit all the right notes. What truly made the experience stand out was the chef, Eko. Not only is he phenomenally talented, but also genuinely kind and welcoming. There were five of us sitting, and after dinner everything was very wonderful. The cook is very good and active, he will do everything you need. Everything is great!) We really like chikken wings and Mini munch!) delicious and not expensive!)

Very delicious food, greeted with enthusiasm as we walked in the cook was very accommodating and explained the menu and talked with us in English. He made the experience well worth it, we will be eating here again try the chiz burger it’s a must! The chicken shashlik was also very fantastic!

This burger is an absolute delight! Perfectly cooked, juicy patty with melted cheese that oozes with each bite. The fresh lettuce adds a nice crunch, and the soft bun holds it all together beautifully. The presentation, topped with a small American flag, adds a charming touch. we went there for dinner and it is a really nice place. it is self service and there is a vast variety of food, it’s so hard to choose. the food was really good but a friend of mine took a cooked chicken which wasn’t really cooked, it was a bit on the pink side. it is often crowded and you may have to wait a little bit to find a free table. overall, it is very recommended

Certainly wasn't fresh out of the oil, but it was made not too long ago and for this price perfectly fine. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: you collect everything on your tray and pay at the counter either with cash or card. The lady was helpful and patient when I changed my mind from card to cash.

Just a few steps from the main square, this smaller branch of the well-known LIDO chain offers a cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating both inside and on the terrace. Despite being right in the center of Riga, the prices are still excellent, and the place feels relaxed rather than overly touristy. We tried the Solyanka soup for only 2.25 €, and it was absolutely delicious — rich, hearty, and full of flavor. Together with a glass of excellent local beer, it made for the perfect casual meal. The portions were generous, everything was fresh and tasty, and the overall quality was far above what we expected for such a price. The staff were friendly and smiling, and the self-service system worked smoothly — you just take a tray, pick what you like, and pay at the counter. Everything was quick and pleasant. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit — great food, good beer, fair prices, and a nice atmosphere. We left happy and will definitely come back next time!

Our group of 10 enjoyed a late lunch at this mostly-Latvian restaurant. We grabbed our trays and parade thru a selection of 2 soups and I chose the tomato based sausage soup that I had to top with fresh parsley, 🌿 sour cream, and chopped garlic. I chose this over a Russian-Latvian beet soup. I also chose pork kebabs and a traditional grey peas with cabbage. The peas and cabbage was a lot tastier than it sounds. Our chose the kabobs and traditional salads. We passed on the nods to tourists with chicken nuggets. Here we passed thru the line to grab cold and hot beverages. We paid before sitting at outdoor covered tables and chose not to sit indoors in accessible tables Menu items are written in Russian and Latvian sone in English. At the entrance a large posted menu gives items in English also. This is a good option for local favorites in a quick stop ambiance

Fanatic value and the food was delicious. You order "canteen" or buffet style that's includes various local meat dishes, salads and desserts which gives you the ability to try as many dishes as you would like. You can also pour your own beers. Service is also very efficient. I can highly recommend.

Amazing cheap eatery in the centre of Riga old town to try Latvian cuisine. It's all self-service with canteen style food/drinks. The food area seems relatively small, but there's still enough variety, and it's a good place to try a selection of local foods.

The rooms were spacious and amazing and besides the bed, I had a large sitting area with couch and loveseat. The bathroom floor was heated. The room also has much more storage space for clothing and a small little kitchenette cooking area. Location-wise you couldn’t get it any better in the middle of the old city. Also, has a business center if you need to use a computer.. Spa and sauna area downstairs seem to be nice though I didn’t use them. Front reception attendants were very nice. My only wish is that they could make room for a proper gym. It’s nice to be able to get a workout when you’re on vacation..

We stayed for 3 nights and had an excellent experience. First of all, our room was very clean — in fact, the whole hotel was clean and peaceful. The staff were exceptionally helpful, and the one-hour complimentary sauna session was such a great experience that we ended up booking a second one. Overall, this place offered great value for money — we’ll definitely stay here again the next time we visit Riga.

My family came to tour Latvia and Riga for the very first time. We spent six days at the Neiburgs and we could not have had a better experience. The location was in the heart of Old Town Riga and the facility was far better than most luxury hotels in the States. We had a buffet breakfast each morning in the restaurant of the hotel and we were exposed to the best cuisine in Latvia. Hotel services were great and price was very reasonable given the level and quality of services provided. We will definitely return.

I stayed in this hotel for three nights in a trip to a conference in Riga. It is well located in the historic center close to the cathedral of Riga. My room was a 1-room apartment with two beds. It was ample, with two armchairs and a small table, a desk where I could comfortably work with the computer and a small kitchen that I did not use. The bathroom was also ample, with a nice red bathtub. The hotel provided bathrobe and slippers. The breakfast was excellent, including hot meal with eggs, sausages and other food, as well as cold meals with salads, fruit, pastries, etc. The hotel has a spa in the basement that I did not use. The service was kind and efficient.

My husband and I dined at Neiburgs last night, a special experience for our trip to Riga, whilst visiting from London. We had a starter, main and a dessert each and my husband ordered their home-made cherry lemonade. It was all simply, superb. It's too difficult to call out one thing alone because everything we ate stood out. What I also loved was that for a Michelin guide restaurant, you aren't paying what you'd expect to pay. We paid just short of 70€ for 3 courses each which was incredible value for money when I think about our experience.

Check in was seamless Rooms are spacious. A little tired floors but the washroom looks brand new and in great condition. Lots of space in the room and little kitchen for some light cooking. It's right in Old Town making it easier to explore other areas.

Had a really tasty dinner at Shōyu! I can't talk about the normal menu because when we visited there was a limited menu and a visiting chef but everything we tried was amazing. The service was really good too.

We were recommended to come here from friends that visited Riga and it lived up to expectations. Everything we ate, all vegan, was delicious! The location is outside the centre in nice leafy neighborhood by a park. Great vibes and tasty food for a very reasonable price.

This place is a gem. Food was absolutely delicious. Ramen was the best we have had outside Japan! Service was very good. The only minus is that the outdoor terrace is next to a quite busy road. Warmly recommended!

Really enjoyed my visit here. The service is very friendly and the coffee tastes great. They have a good vegetarian breakfast selection and also a nice choice of cakes. You can sit both inside and outside, and the modern interior makes it a cozy and stylish place to relax. A good spot whether you’re coming for breakfast or just for a coffee break. The porridge was ok, though it could have used a bit more fruit on top and was surprisingly firm to the bite for porridge. The avocado with egg was also fine, but not particularly overwhelming.

We're sitting at the airport, eating a Snickers bar that we didn't get to eat yesterday, and all we can manage to say with each bite is "boah" (the German equivalent of "I love that, thank you!"). Otherwise, we ate here three times: twice in the evening and once for breakfast. Every meal was a culinary dream, and we had everything vegan. The tapas are also highly recommended—they're delicious and so affordable! We truly enjoyed it!

Matcha latte for a drink, and a pistachio tart...which was heaven on the lips! Vegetarian place and these were all vegan options. Sat in the outside area as the weather was lovely.

Very disappointing omelette, almost inedible from being so intensely greasy. Side salad was mostly frisee, which is good, yet makes for a very bare salad, especially with the cucumber sliced so thinly. Service was dull and sullen and I left with a queasy stomach. Grapefruit juice, at least, was fine. Was expecting much better from a place that touts being healthy.

If you want to get away from the tourists and enjoy a typical local restaurant visited by locals, then this is where you want to be. Along with the most friendly resident dog, the service is warm and friendly, the food is really good and the wine great. Reasonably priced and away from the tourist traps. Great food in a very relaxed atmosphere, with super helpful and gentle service from Annetta. The beef cheeks were amazing with comforting mash and the caramelised apple pie with pistachio ice cream was something else. Come here if you want great, but unfussy food, in a relaxed environment.

Had an amazing char risotto, the service was also very attentive, maybe because the place isn't overrun by tourists. Despite being a bit outside Riga's Old Town, the place is incredibly welcoming to tourists. English menus were available, and the staff spoke perfect English fluently. Sitting in the outdoor area behind the restaurant and enjoying dinner during one of those famously long Baltic summer evenings was a great experience. Highly recommended for anyone willing to take the 10 minute tram ride from the city center, its worth it to get a more culinary local vibe.

My visit to Labietis was in March 2025. It was very busy, obviously very popular. The range of beers were amazing, and I couldn't get over the strength of some of them 🤩. The barman was very helpful, even offering samples before you commit to a drink. The bar snacks were great too, taking the edge off. If I go back to Riga I'd definitely go here again 👍🏻

Lovely and cozy atmosphere with plenty of space both inside and outside. Great selection of beers – both on draft and in cans. We were served by a very friendly and articulate female bartender, and she kindly offered us a few tastings before we decided. The beers and snacks were excellent. If we hadn’t had plans elsewhere, we definitely would have stayed for another round or two. The olives were some of the best I’ve ever had!

This place is a million stars out of ten. The beer (and mead) is utterly sublime - every single one of the seven we tried were stupendously good. Juniper ale, ginger mint, mead… and the absolute star of the show… braggot… all just brilliant. Very very highly recommended indeed. Rye chips good too.

My new, favorite Latvian beer is Labietis. After tasting their offerings in the big market downtown, we decided to trek out to the brewery and check out what else they had available. A cool little section of town, some light snacks and 16 different beers on tap. If you are a beer lover, it is worth the trip. And oddly, they were playing the entire day of one of my favorite albums of 1989, The Sundays “reading, writing and arithmetic”. Very random…

This is such a great brewery. They have a large selection of beers on tap, many of which are very unique, and include beers made using medieval ingredients and techniques. They also have some unique beers infused with herbs.

Went to Riga and missed this place. big regret. Bought two of their beers at the airport since we had a delay. The juniper Red ale, and the Witch of light Bronze age braggot. The juniper was delicious with its crisp light flavor with a hint of tart berry, but the Bronze age braggot was the standout to me. very unique taste of sourness, beer and almost a liqouricy tartiness. very unique flavor. ended up ordering a lot of beers to my home in Denmark from their website. also went without a hitch, they handled all issues like the danish Excise duty so the delivery went without any issues. big respect to this brewery for their innovation and super high quality for a very reasonable price. a must visit for you, and definitely for me when i make it back to beautiful Riga.

We were so delighted to find this gorgeous little Latvian restaurant. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fabulous. It’s in an old building , small and intimate . We loved it so much we came twice on our Riga trip. Staff are really attentive. To ensure you get a table , perhaps you should book it . We watched people get turned away on the Saturday night .

It was kinda OK. The food was "safe" but perhaps not too exciting. A small restaurant in a cute part of town, the restaurant was smallish and service slow but pleasant. This was my first visit to Latvia and the only meal I ate there. Can't say I was blown away by it, but it wasn't bad either. Prices were OK by European standards but I have no reference in Riga. I expect it was probably a bit expensive because of the location.

Was there two weeks ago (on the 24th May 2025). Excellent food and very friendly lady who served food. I ordered garlic rye bread and pearl barley with porcini. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely.

Very cozy, heart-warming atmosphere with only few tables, so the waitress takes good care of you. She speaks perfect english and is friendly and willing to help you and explain to you the menu. The food was delicious. We had fried bread with garlic sauce, the grey peas and cod with vegetables. The homemade lemonade was also tasty.

We chose AKA because we wanted to sample genuine Latvian cuisine, the restaurant was fairly quiet as it was midweek in early April but there was a nice atmosphere and the waitress was very polite and helpful. We had the potato pancakes and gray peas as our two appetizers and I had cod in a rhubarb wine sauce and my wife had grilled salmon and roast potatoes, all the food was well cooked and presented and the portions were generous. I only sampled the draught beer but the wine selection seemed quite extensive. The service wasn't very quick but there was only one server and one chef so the waiting time was reasonable, I would definitely recommend AKA to anyone who would like to sample quality Latvian food at a very reasonable price.

Very nice restaurant. Stays true to the Latvian traditional food and drinks. Highly recommended I'd you like to try traditional food. We have been here twice and all is solid and genuine! The cod in rhubarb wine is great. Also the barley "risotto" and the stews. Don't miss out on the fried rye bread with garlic :-)

We visited Street Pizza on a Saturday night. We tried the Margherita and Capricciosa pizzas – both were absolutely delicious, with a rich and flavorful tomato sauce. The dough was perfectly risen, giving the pizzas beautifully puffy crusts, which I personally love to see in a good pizza. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt inviting and cozy. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more pizzas. Highly recommended!

We visited on September 1st to celebrate, and were immediately impressed by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The space feels warm and welcoming, and the staff were attentive, polite, and genuinely ensured that everything was perfect throughout our visit. We ordered the Milano and Pancetta pizzas, which were absolutely incredible—easily some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The cocktails arrived promptly, and the pizzas were served within just 10 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be returning, not only for the delicious food but also for the great service and atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Hands down this is the BEST pizza in Riga, maybe even Latvia. If you are looking for a true Neapolitan pizza, with the best dough, sauce and cheese, Street pizza wins the award. Hardly anything to complain about, the service is good, prices are reasonable (for the quality of the pizza). I will be making a few more trips here while I am in Riga, and try all their varieties (which are quite extensive)

One of the best pizzas in Europe and you could taste it. The pizzas were great and really tasty, the people were nice and the place looked good.

Our experience was very satisfying: we had ciabatta with truffle honey and a prosecco for a starter followed by a Nordic pizza and a pizza with anchovies and then affogate and tiramisu for a dessert. All were very tasty and we really enjoyed our meal on the outdoor terrace. The pets from the neighbouring restaurant came over for a dinner as well ;-)

Some great, flavourful food. Great selection for vegetarians but also carnivores will appreciate the rich flavor of the meals. Staff is friendly, positive, cheerful. It is on a grey streetside so you may walk past it but I recommend stopping by.

Kozy Eats is an absolute gem in Riga. The vegan food is not only lovely but also beautifully presented, with clear care and creativity in every dish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. The desserts, in particular, are simply divine – the perfect way to end a lovely meal. Marzipan square - 10/10. Highly recommended for anyone looking for fresh, vibrant vegan cuisine in the city. We visited Kozy Eats on two occasions, and both visits were a real treat. Each time, my husband and I spent around €80/€90.

Stumbled upon this cafe early morning, had been in once and had a latte to take out which had been lovely, smooth and not too strong. Had a second visit the following day and decided to stay in, had a large latte again, once again smooth and nice. Had some music playing in the background not too loud or quiet. Had some people in and they had left. Nice environment, very casual. Barista had spoken English which helps. Coffee between €1.90-€4.10 but goes to €4.90.

Since theres a construction infront of the caffeine the place is like sanctuary. When i arrived there, there was only two people: bartender and one customer. I ordered salted caramel macchiato and sat down. The coffee was amazingly made by the bartender like 10/10 never had better caramel macchiato. I stayed there for 1 hour and by the time only 3 locals came by so it was really nice that it was quiet all the time Definitely worth to visit just dont get crowded here to not destroy the quietness of this place 😉

Many choices for hot and iced coffees. Frappes also available and specials. Few choices of sweet and savory items. From savory they offer stuffed croissants and quiches and on sweet side there are few cakes, pastries and cookies. Would have expected more choices. Coffee was good but they oversugared it. Muffin was dry but croissant tasty. It is super busy in there but atmosphere quite cozy. Servers should know English better as one if them did not understand what was ordered, it is central location and people working there should know basics. Overall good for coffee and quick bite.

The humidty is too high so there is a heavy smell. The floor need to be changed. Service is good.

The coffee is great. I think the coffee art is pretty too. They are enough space to find a nice seat. The decoration is quite cozy took. My favorite is the carrot cake, it’s very tasty! Everything were better than Starbuck. Now it’s my favorite place to get my coffee especially during cold days.

This place brings back nostalgia every time. Back in school, my classmates and I often came here to eat. It's been several years since we graduated, and now I've found myself back in this wonderful place. I decided to order what I used to get on days when I was really hungry - a kebab in bread with potatoes. The kebab is just as good as ever; all these years haven't made it any worse, and the sauces still have their amazing flavor. The potatoes are crispy and coated in spices. The only thing that's changed since school is that the spicy seasoning on every table doesn't seem as hot anymore. But that's just because we've grown up. The prices are still just as reasonable. They now have a website, so you can place an order in advance while you're on your way to the place. You can also pay by card on the website

Great place to eat Kebab and Falafel in the more quiet part of Riga. The prices are 2€ for botteled sodas and 6-10€ for kebab bowls or kebabs (extra pay for sauces, choice of meat or extra addons). The online order feature is really convenient, the service is quick and the food is very very lovely. Would absolutely recommend!

I ordered takeaway from Foodbox Kebab in Riga today and was extremely disappointed. While the cashier provided fast and friendly service, the food itself was unacceptable. I found a hair in my meal, which is unhygienic and disgusting. Many staff members have long beards, and anyone handling food must maintain strict cleanliness. This is not a joke—food safety should be taken seriously. I expect better hygiene standards from a restaurant. Thank you to the cashier for her good service, but I will not order from here again unless hygiene improves.

Great food, I had a wrap with falafel and mango sauce and it was delicious. There's plenty of space to sit - inside and outside. We had to wait a little for our food, but it was great, although I can't say that I felt full after eating my portion.

Probably the best kebab in town. Quality hasn't dropped from the first time i was there which is almost 10 years ago. Dürüm or on the plate, it doesn't matter. Well balanced and delicious. And very reasonably priced.

Yummy, and they have great seating outside. Just watch for those wasps! We had one trying to steal the meat from the sandwich and wouldn't leave us alone. Order sweet sauces only if you're sitting inside or are prepared to wage a battle =P. Wait time varies but expect up to 20m or so if they're busy.

Very Turkish atmosphere kebab. The place is clean and good! In lunch time very many people (2-3 o'clock). Very big choice of food. I have tried Turku Maize (Turkish Bread). Very big, tasty and great. The bread is just very soft. Much meat. Free Turkish tea. Tasty and tradional glasses. Many tissues! I am interested in coming hete later to try other dishes. Plate, Lavash kebab. Uhhhh, fascinating.

Super friendly waiter, very tasty dishes even if some a bit "boring/same-old" for a Michelin recommendation. Still, if you want a good atmosphere and good food this is a place to chose. I only wish they had a few more child-friendly options that are less elaborate.

For sure the best Khinkalis I ever had abroad. If you want to taste real Khinkalis from Pasanuri, you are at the right place! The rest of the food was excellent, and the prices more than decent. It really felt being at home!

The food was absolutely tasty and authentically Georgian. You should definitely go there for the food, but on the other hand, the staff was - to say the least - untrained and inattentive. We didn’t get a table (there were plenty of free tables) until we asked them, and we had to fetch the menu cards ourselves, not having got them after ten minutes… We waited another twenty minutes until the staff were ready to take our order. Luckily, the staff got much better after we had got our food. I hope to come back here and be able to rate a 5/5 - the service simply has to improve!

Stumbled on this gem yesterday and woved to visit before our flight. It was relatively quiet on Tuesday afternoon. Everything we ordered was hot, freshly made and absolutely delicious. Adjaruli khachapuri was amazing, fluffy cheesy goodness 🔥😍, spicy and thick kharcho, juicy and peppery khinkali, charred pork shashlik, all paired beautifully with a glass of Khvanchkara wine. Totally recommend!! With love 🇬🇧🇷🇺

I had made a reservation in advance to break our fast, and they were incredibly accommodating. They brought our meal promptly at the specified time, and everything was wonderful; the service was exceptional. We didn’t notice anything while eating, but after returning home, the heaviness of the meal made me think they could enhance the quality of the filling in the Khinkali by selecting a slightly better quality meat. With a bit of higher-quality meat, they could take it to the next level. Thank you!

Great place for a quick and healthy meal. Love coming here for lunch. Would highly recommend trying their cold beetroot soup and falafel bowl! Unfortunately, I can not recommend drinks and desserts here! Drinks are made quite unprofessionally are too cold when served and desserts always disappoint 😮‍💨

Must visit vegan place in Riga! Lunch menu changes daily so we visited twice. Had a huge tempeh salad and it was only €5. Cakes are all beautiful and very delicious and they also do different daily savoury treats. Would love a place like this where I live.

Absolutely delicious vegan food in Riga! The restaurant is lovely and the staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. I got the 'schnitzel' which was enormous and so tasty. The fried potatoes, salad and pickled cabbage were the perfect accompaniment. I hope I will get the chance to come back.

The atmosphere of the place is truly pleasant and nicely designed, with a wide selection of cakes that look very tempting at first glance. However, the impression was somewhat diminished by the service – the staff was not particularly friendly, and the cappuccino was served too hot, which didn’t leave the best impression. Among the pastries, I would highlight the cheese rolls, which were very tasty and worth recommending, while the bacon rolls fell short of expectations. Overall, the café has potential and a good selection, but the quality of service could certainly be improved

The place offers a variety of different options, from pastries to salad cakes. Quality of food is king here, we tried 7 different types of cakes, and we were so impressed by the taste. This place is a gem, must be visited and try anything inspires you.

Everything looked really tasty, and I had a hard time choosing what to eat. I picked a cake with the poppy seeds. It was delicious and not too sweet. In the end I decided to get a cherry tart to go. Now I'm sorry I didn't get a strudel, so I'm definitely coming back.

Convenient location, pastries are passable only, they look better than they taste. Unfortunately, the service is terrible. The staff behind the counter is frankly rude. They ignore you and are completely uninterested in answering questions about the pastries. Coffee is overpriced, they charge almost €5 for a small cup of coffee with milk. I do not recommend.

We skipped dessert in the lunch restaurant only to get cake there after a recommendation. It was absolutely worth it. The cakes are simply delicious and not too sweet. Also the coffees were amazing.

The location of this hostel is fantastic, and the staff were very friendly, always happy to share local favorites and recommendations on things to check out. A huge bonus was the number of bathrooms, something that’s often overlooked in reviews. On our floor alone, there were at least five toilets, which made a big difference compared to other hostels we stayed in that week. We didn’t participate in the social activities, but it definitely seemed like a very social hostel, and everyone we met was welcoming. I would definitely stay here again!

Honestly, this was the best hostel I've stayed at. The front desk staff was very friendly and informative. Made me feel like family. Shared dorms have curtains on each bunk for privacy. The social environment beats other hostels I've stayed at, and the location is ideal for exploring old town. I'll stay here again in a heartbeat!

The best experience I have ever had with any accommodation service. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms and shared facilities were well maintained and equipped, walls full of decorative painting. I felt I paid for some kind of high-standard artistic hostel, yet the service was cheap and close to the city centre. I was also flattered that they gave me a pretty big honey cake for my birthday I was really surprised by this kindness.

TLDR: Mostly friendly staff, great location/amenities, roommates and people that stay there are not too friendly or approachable, SUPER HOT rooms with loud noises throughout the night. I stayed here for four nights. First night was so so hot I thought about sleeping on the balcony. They had some fans but it wasn’t enough with 8 people in one room. The roommates were not the most friendly, some hellos and such but not much small talk. It was a big mix of Europeans, so that could be a result. some were a little rude in my experience. This is definitely a “party” hostel, my first night, I was the only one in the room until 2:00am, the majority came back at 4:00am so yes it is difficult to get rest. The staff were mostly friendly and nice, some of the maintenance workers wouldn’t look or say hello, but that’s not a big deal. The main workers were very friendly and accommodating. The location is great, it is walking distance to a lot of stuff and I didn’t really touch much public transport because you can just walk everywhere. The hostel also lets you leave your stuff in a cabinet past checkout time and you can come back and use their showers and toilets even after checkout which is amazing. Overall, I wanted the leave the first night because it was so loud and super hot in the rooms! But the location, amenities and somewhat friendly staff made it a tolerable stay. But next time I would stay at different place in Riga, because there are plenty of other options nearby for the same price that might provide a better rest.

A decent budget hostel. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The beds were a bit bad but nothing too extreme and there were accessible electricity ports for each bed. They also had the cages for the bags. The showers and WC were shared across the floor, so that's something to keep in mind. The location was in middle of old town, so good for a tourist.

My overall experience was good: the location is excellent, I came in late and they were kind enough to allow me to check in after hours. The rooms, showers were all decent for what you paid and I even took advantage of the onsite laundry. Why only 3 stars then? - for some reason the wifi didn’t reach my room - one of the employees was incredibly rude and professional: loudly complaining about guests 5 min after they went to their room, openly using slurs the “c-word”, and loudly exclaiming “ this is the best day of my life” as a response to a recent assassination in the United States. I understand this is a party hostile and the vibe is more open but I think this person should have conducted themselves in a more professional manner or just not done/said these things in the lobby for all others guests to hear. Other then the one individual the rest of the staff was friendly, helpful, and professional at all times

Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in hands down!!! So much fun, the staff are incredible and there are so many opportunities to get involved in activities/pub crawls that make your stay in Riga unforgettable. there’s nothing more you want from a hostel. Just don’t stay here if you don’t want to party, it can get a little lit😉

Whether you're a solo backpacker or just passing through, it’s got a lounge area that welcomes everyone, is a meeting point before nights out, and is the kind of place that makes you want to hangout and stay longer. I had a really great stay at Cinnamon Sally Backpackers Hostel during my time in Riga. From the moment I arrived—well, eventually arrived—the staff made me feel completely at home. Funny story: I actually spent about half an hour spinning in circles right outside the hostel, totally missing the entrance. I must’ve walked past it three or four times without realizing it. Finally, I gave them a call, and the staff was so patient and helpful. One of them basically guided me over the phone like air traffic control. I was laughing by the time I got in the door, and they greeted me with the kind of warmth that instantly made the whole ordeal worth it. The hostel is in a great location—close to everything, with tons of cool spots nearby and all the main sights within walking distance. The vibe inside was laid-back and social, with comfy spaces to hang out and chat with fellow travelers. Breakfast was included each morning, which is always a plus. The food was nothing fancy, but it did the job—perfect for fueling up before a day of exploring. Overall, Cinnamon Sally felt like more than just a place to sleep—it was a home base with a lot of heart (and a staff that deserves a medal for navigation support). I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Riga, especially solo travelers or anyone looking for a fun, welcoming place to stay.

AMAZING!!! At the moment u arrive staff welcome you and introduce you to the city and the hostel facilities. Every night there's an social activity in a good vibe. Open bar and breakfast are just the way it should be. Clean, welcoming and worth every penny! The only dilemma we had is how long do we want to extend our stay... Added photos of the entrance for better visual of the way to get to the place at first time.

Nice hostel with good common areas. The free breakfast was an amazing extra for rhe accomodation! Location was a bit weird and hard to find at first (going through McDonalds) but not too far away from old town and also more quiet place in the end than old town.

Best hostel in Riga! It is a bit tricky to get inside the hostel for the first time, but once you understand the process, there are none of the struggles left. The hostel offers different size rooms and have only female ones available as well. Besides, hostel provides it’s guests with breakfast (!), there is a mini bar here, coffee machine and tea for you to enjoy, the common room is cosy and has some books and board games in case you get bored. The showers are private and clean and the hostel even provides you with towels! The staff is what makes the experience truly unique, they are helpful, understanding and can provide with recommendations for your trip!

Great hostel with a cozy atmosphere, clean, friendly staff and nice breakfast. I spent only two nights here but had a great time exploring the city with some helpful tips from the staff. One of the toilets wasn't working but there was always one free in the other part of the hostel. The free breakfast is a nice bonus but could use some better options especially for vegans. There are many plants in the hostel which makes me as a plant person very happy and feel cozy. I would definitely stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay very much! I met lots of interesting people, the staff and the volunteers were great, the breakfast was lovely, the location within walking distance of the old town and right next to the central station, the bed was comfy and the room mostly quiet at night. The folk dancing excursion on Wednesday night was awesome! All in all, you made my time in Riga very enjoyable ❤️

Asian cuisine is not the only option here, but it’s definitely a highlight and a great choice for lunch. The place gets quite popular during lunchtime, often drawing a crowd—sometimes it’s even hard to find a seat. There’s always at least one dish with meat or fish available every day. There are also vegetarian and vegan options. Most of the menu leans toward Asian flavors, offering both unique and familiar dishes of good quality. Since it's focused on lunchtime, it’s not really a dinner spot.

StockPot is such a great find in Riga! Their Asian fish soup was bursting with flavor and so comforting, and the West African chicken curry was absolutely delicious—rich, hearty, and perfectly spiced. You can really taste the love and creativity that goes into their dishes. A cozy spot with bold, international flavors—I’d definitely recommend it!

If we lived in Riga, we would eat here every day! We had the Thai curry (excellent with the just the right amount of heat) and the hummus and tabbouleh meals (maybe the tabbouleh could have used a bit more lemon). It was a light lunch for us and just perfect before we hit the road. Easy to walk to from Old Town.

I’ve been a regular customer since moving to Riga a few years ago and this is still my favourite lunch spot in the city. Great, quick food and one of the few options in the city centre if you want spicy food. Chilli Wednesday is still one of the highlights of my week.

There is normally one or two vegetarian options, but tend to be very spicy . For sone reason the only side is rice and they offer only white wheat bread. Would be nice if there were buckwheat or quinoa and rye bread options.

First day in Riga we were strolling through old Town and we spotted this restaurant located below Le Dome Hotel. Reviews seemed very promising so we gave it a try. Thankfully it was 5:30pm so we were given an early seating - prebook if planning an 8/8:30pm Dinner as they were fully booked both Friday and Saturday evening. We opted for the Chefs 5 course menu. By the end of it we were very happy with our choice . Awesome first impression 😋

The summer terrace of the restaurant is wonderful! Every month my friends and I go to one of the restaurants in Riga for new impressions and delicious food - and it was the right choice. Excellent service, original and delicious dishes, a magnificent view of the towers of the Old Town - all this made our visit unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! One of the best if not the best food in Old Town. Set in one of Riga’s oldest buildings, nestled below and attached to a boutique hotel, this is a high end food experience. A la carte available as well as tasting menus, which I’m excited to have when they switch over to their Fall menu. Solid cocktails, and superb service. Bonus - cigar room below the restaurant in a VIP room with old brick arches and delicious spirits. Make sure to make reservations!

A fabulous French Michelin 5-star dining experience! Every detail was perfection from the exquisite surprise 5-course menu to the impeccable service by Alex and Adrian. The caviar, Atlantic cod, and duck mains were absolute highlights. With beautiful floral touches that made our anniversary night unforgettable.

Interesting and great food. One of the best main dishes of my life (won’t spoil to anyone). Waiters were competent and good at English and took their time telling stories, answering questions and joking about. Wine menu was a great fit for the food. We were given Rīga Balsam made from birch wood as a digestif and the end of the five+ courses.

The food and service was amazing. Karlis was so knowledgeable and friendly as were all the staff. We went for restaurant week. The food was absolutely beautifully plated, and tasted delicious. The cocktails made with song cai gin were out of this world absolutely incredible. I’d highly recommend the basil one and the lucky one I don’t recall the name and le dome version Negroni. We will be back for sure!

Honestly this place is extremely good. You can feel that food is made with love and effort. It looks delicious, tastes delicious and the staff is very kind. Probably one of my favourite places for a lunch or breakfast if I am in the area. Best of luck mr. Bobs!

Location is good. But the host is very impolite. We had asked for toilet paper a bit early in the morning since we were travelling early, which was not given at all. She was angry and rude and she told us that “normal people would not text people that early..and I had already given you the day before.” She only gave us 2 rolls of toilet paper for 5 of us before fsome of us were on our periods) As a management student, I have learn a lesson from her, as a host, who suppose to help customers to solve their problem with patience and kindness, which she fail to achieve so. One night, the electricity was off, and we called her, she seemed to blame us. But we had did nothing except sitting in front of the TV.

We made a reservation three months in advance and received the confirmation that half of the price was charged and the rest should be paid in cash on arrival. Four days before arrival they started to demand new credit card details because of some problems with the card, we provided three different card details and every time they claimed that it did not work. Two hour before our arrival they cancelled our reservation. So we had urgently search for other hotel to stay. We where lucky enough to get the last room from the hotel near by. OTA Staff was very rude, caddish and unprofessional during our interaction while we tried to get to the bottom of the problem. I wish you all luck to deal with these people. Nothing much to say about the venue itself since we did not stay there.

The only positive thing is the location. The manager/owner kicked us out after 3 hours (we were supposed to be too loud). They didn't even look for a solution, we had to leave immediately. Entry was at 15 o'clock, the apartment was not cleaned at this time yet and we had to wait. The promised reimbursement of the paid costs has not yet taken place.

There is a lack of cutlery and crockery in the kitchen, some of which are not enough for five people or are completely missing. (Original) Die Lage von der Wohnung ist sehr schön, man kann Altstadt von Riga sehr gut zur Fuß erkundigen. Aber Wohnung selber war leider nicht so schön in Schränken war Staub. Die meiste Möbel hat auch seine beste Zeiten zur Sovet Union Zeiten. Der Couch ist für zwei erwachsene Personen einfach zu schmal. Die Stühle sind alle verschieden und durchgesetzt. In der Küche fehlt Besteck und Geschirr, teilweise reicht nicht für fün Personen oder komplett fehlt.

Ok let’s say I read many things about this place , so I did booked the table and me and my partner decided to finish our amazing trip to Riga with this little cosy place. I would not say it’s bad or it’s a best food experience I ever had it was… ok. Presentation of the each dish is the win win situation to the restaurant however… salmon tartare taste like … chopped salmon and avocado.. ok .. pikeperch fillet taste like … fish .. lamb shoulder taste like lamb etc etc. there where no this full of flavour dishes. It looked amazing but within this amazing looks the wow effect ends… there where no Wow taste effect. Which was a bit of a shame. Place nice, cosy, can’t blame a thing really and it was the busiest restaurant we saw for this entire Easter weekend. But unfortunately I have to rate as 4 stars but purely because of the presentation. Otherwise it would be 3 stars for actual food taste.

The food had lovely presentation but was lacking flavour. We started with trout tratare with avocado which was lovely. Then we got the signature pork ribs and the fish. The pork was good but the fish was lacking a bit of flavour. The staff was really nice .

Cozy spot in the heart of Old Town! The food was absolutely delicious - the baked Camembert with balsamic-roasted grapes and green pistachios was a standout, and the pan-fried pikeperch fillet with green pea purée and mango-pistachio tartare was truly exquisite. Kudos to the chef! Though, the atmosphere was a bit of a letdown. The space is quite small, and somehow the noise bounces off the walls and becomes overwhelming - it really affected the overall experience, we had to scream to hear each other. I would expect such a noise at a bar/pub, but not at a good restaurant. But probably it happened due to this evening the restaurant was packed with some really loud groups. A reservation is definitely recommended, as the space is limited. One interesting observation: we were the only locals there, which likely explains the pricing. It’s more tourist-oriented in that sense, not really a local’s everyday spot. All in all, a charming and cozy place with fantastic food.

Went here with my wife after strolling the old Town on our first day in Riga.....We sat outside and had a fantastic meal.....Everything here was as promised....With a twist up......Nice atmosphere and had we sat inside we'd had the same experience.....

The food here is delicious, the menu is pretty small and there is not much choice but what they do have is very nice. The waiter was rushing us with everything despite the restaurants being almost empty. What i enjoyed most is the atmosphere - it is a very cozy vibe and has a very aesthetic interior which is perfect to have good conversations.

8/10 Very interesting experience, me and my girlfriend came in off the street as we didn't know where to eat today. We where immideatly greeted by the waiter and sat down. As we got the menus I was delighted by the rich selection of food. The only problem was that the waiter kept bugging us and coming every other minute asking if we are ready to order again and again. We felt really rushed, this was a pattern throughout our experience, the waiter was very pushy. The food was absolutely amazing, although I don't recommend this for picky eaters the foods all have very very rich and flavourful tastes. A culinary experience but I can't say I'm eager to come back. Overall I would definitely recommend. :)

Fortuidously stumbled across this place while searching for "restaurants near me", what a divine inspiration it was. The food was incredible. Casper is a lovely human being and fabulous waiter. He provided recommendations and took very good care of us. Most respect to the Chef, you could tell from his food that he is passionate about what he does. We had the Burrata, the Civiche, the Pasta a Potato Pancake and the Strawberry Mousse with Olive Oil marinated Rhubarb. Wow! We'll definitely be back. Delightful service, exquisite food, cozy atmosphere. 💗🍴🙌🏼

Our small group went here for supper the other evening. We visited this restaurant quite some time ago and looked forward to our return. We were greeted kindly by staff and seated near the bar - comfy seats. The waiter took our drink and starters order and had them to our table very quickly. Both the antipasti plate and buratta were very good. We ordered our mains and enjoyed a few drinks while waiting. The waiter (also our bartender) was very friendly. He was suggesting drinks to suit our tastes and took time to explain how they were made. When our mains came out, the first thing to notice was the care taken for the presentation - they looked great. My risotto was rich and delicious, with the rice done perfectly. How good was it? Others at the table ordered one to share after their meal hahahaha. My wife's steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I would have to say everything was perfect at this point. The dessert choices were not quite what we were expecting. The chocolate chip cookie was a bit hard (almost like biscotti). The peanut butter cookie was good. I did order one of their main dessert selections - the Rhubarb Mousse. It was definitely something different - just not quite what I was expecting. Overall, this evening out was a great meal. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and service were great. Thanks for a great meal.

I visited this restaurant for lunch after reading several positive reviews, and I have to admit, the ambiance did make a good first impression. The interior is nicely decorated, with comfortable seating that creates a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the reputation. I ordered the rabbit leg, which was completely lacking in seasoning and felt bland overall. The portion size was quite small compared to the price, making it feel overpriced for what was offered. The coffee I had afterward was also disappointing… Just average at best. On top of that, the staff didn’t come across as friendly or welcoming, which added to the underwhelming experience. Overall, I left surprised at how different my visit was compared to the glowing reviews I’d read beforehand. The ambiance is lovely, but the food and service definitely didn’t match the hype.

Small place with inside/outside seating (outside seating consists of 3 tables). It has low-lighting and cozy chairs creating an intimate atmosphere. There was only one waitress and she was hustling the entire time attending to every table. She was very polite, warm and accommodating. Having said this, I was felt rushed - not because she was busy - but because that is the vibe here. As for the food, I was not impressed. The edamame barely had any salt so I was essentially eating plain steamed edamame - no flavor just texture. The tuna tartare was unimpressive. The sweet potato puree was cold tasteless as was the tuna as it was thickly sliced and therefore the center was refrigerator-cold atop the cold puree and pesto. The highlight of this place for me was the relaxed vibe and cozy space. I would not recommend.

Beautiful restaurant across the park in central Riga. The food was fresh and delicious. The bread with hemp butter was probably the best we've had. The ravioli was amazing. They also gave a sample of a tomato-pesto soup that I wish we could've ordered. Great selection of wine. Friendly and helpful staff.

The food was fine - nothing extraordinary, especially for that price. The portion sizes were also extremely small for what they cost (starters around €15, mains €25+). The beetroot starter tasted quite simple: overly marinated beetroot, tasteless tofu, and that was about it in terms of flavor. The cake portion, however, was a good size, and very tasty actually. However, freshly baked bread with hemp butter was probably the most tasty part :) The service was lovely, and the atmosphere was okay, though I prefer more lively places (the back room felt a bit abandoned).

Loved my dinner at Forest Restaurant. The mushroom ravioli starter was good (just needed a bit more salt), the berry sorbet palate cleanser was refreshing, and the steak with mashed potatoes was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The chocolate soufflé dessert was amazing — gooey in the middle and great with the ice cream and jams. Lovely atmosphere too, definitely underrated and worth a visit. The service was great too.

We had the tasting menu with wine pairing, and it truly made us appreciate the flavours and ingredients Latvia has to offer. Each wine perfectly complemented and elevated the dishes. The highlight for us was the mushroom ravioli — absolutely exceptional. We’ll definitely be back!

This place was amazing! We had the 7 course menu and we pretty much licked the plates. We live in sweden so we are familiar with the flavours but the whole experience was still 10/10. Truely recommend if you are after a fine dining experience.

Came here for my birthday lunch and was so so impressed. The food and service were immaculate. Friendly & attentive staff, we had a starter on the house which made my birthday feel very special. One of our party is coeliac and staff were knowledgable and trustworthy. The homemade bread was AMAZING and the gluten free version was the best my friend had ever had. The mains were perfect portions and the desserts were stunning too. & the bathroom has leopard print tiles!! my favourite!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

The restaurant is quite small and very atmospheric. The waiters were friendly and explained the different dishes. The 7-course dinner with wine package was absolutely great. A hidden gem right on the edge of the old town.

My husband and I visited and found the place completely empty. We sat waiting for about ten minutes, and when a group of eight arrived and took a seat nearby, a waitress walked right past us and went directly to take their drinks order—without even acknowledging us. It was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We got up and left, and we won’t be returning. Instead, we went to Melnā Bite, where we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The food and wine were excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We were happy to spend €250 there—and it was well worth it.

Very tasty modern versions of the traditional Latvian dishes! Interesting seasonal and classical menu, very polite waiters who speak English and Russian, quite reasonable prices. They also have breakfasts from 7 to 10:30 am, lunches, and brunches on Sundays. Lovely place in the old town, definitely worth visiting.

Latvian cousine. Nice and cozy restaurant combining old with new styles. Starter plate was very generous with plenty of Latvian tastes. Main courses were also generous. My choice was a bit overloaded with onion rings but the taste of calves cheek was good. Waitress had a very good working attitude. I recommend this restaurant to any foreign tourist. Great value for money.

I would recommend this place. It has good food for decent price. I had there chicken rolled in bacon and home made ice cream for desert. With water I paid 22€ in total which is still good. Nice and friendly waitress as well.

The butter varieties they serve at the beginning was tasty and interesting, i didnt find redbeet hummus tasty at all, but the breads were all right and warm. It is always a big plus when the restaurant serves warm bread. As a main course i ordered the calf cheek with chanterelle mushrooms. It was in a Latvian style i enjoyed it. It tasted great. As a desert i chose the marzipan ice cream cake, it was very delicious. The blueberries were carefully sellected as they were quite big.

We jumped in a bit late 'cause we arrived in Riga just a bit earlier. Our welcome in the city couldn't been more beautiful. Great way to make a brunch on Sunday, great place and good food!

We were looking forward to our dining experience at Kalku Varti after it had been recommended by some locals. Upon arriving the friendly server greeted us and sat us immediately. The restaurant is very homey and comfortable with a lovely outdoor seating area in the back. Perfect for a romantic evening. Looking over the tasty sounding items my partner chose the grilled chicken breast with bok choy. I chose the beef cheeks with roasted vegetables. From there plentiful wine list we chose a wine that would go with both entrees. My beef cheeks were tender and would have been very good but the chef had put a thick brown gravy over the tender beef which took away any of the flavor the dish would have had. The roasted vegetables were prepared nicely but, again, the gravy, which seemed like it came out of a package, hid all the freshness and flavor of this locally sourced produce. My wife's experience was not any better. Her chicken was dry although she said it had a nice herbal flavor. The bok choy was hard as a rock and inedible. By the time we tracked down our waiter, we did not want to wait around for something different. Kalku Vardi did comp us a delicious desert. We have read so many positive reviews, we will give Kalku Varti another visit on our return to Riga.

We had a delightful meal here, the food was excellent and the recommended paired wines were perfect. It wasn’t busy (midweek) and the staff were friendly and attentive. It was the perfect place to finish our week in Riga.

The food is relatively delicious, but the service was quite slow. For example, we waited 50 minutes for our main course, which is why I’m giving this rating.

Tres chic restaurant — very stylish and elegant, though I personally like eating a bit more like a savage 😄🍴. Started with gazpacho soup, paired with a variety of good breads. The beef burger was juicy and delicious, and the homemade fried potatoes were a real treat (not easy to find everywhere!). Paired it with Spanish homemade wine — solid choice. Finished with avocado panna cotta, light and not overly sweet — a refreshing ending. Chic vibes, tasty food, worth a visit!

Very good restaurant because of atmosphere and service. Food is tasty and mostly made from local ingredients, maybe a little lacking in sophistication and flavor nuances, but still very good. Local made bread rolls is what the kids love the most.

Excellent food and service. Vegetarian and fish wonderful. They also serve plenty of meat but I can't vouch for that. The dishes were all beautifully presented and the food was so fresh and seasonal. Unfortunately no pictures of starters - ate them before we had chance - they were awesome! Tomato stuffed with herby burrata and a salad with strawberries an walnut - I wouldn't have put these flavours together but they were amazing. Marked atmosphere down, I'm sure it could have been amazing however at evening dinner service the table next to us had an unruly toddler and screaming baby and there seemed to be gaggles of teenagers wandering in and out and hanging around the bar - more like a kids club than gourmet restaurant.

Went in just before rain and luckily there were tables available for four. Great food, burger could be better, and fries a bit too salty. And still satisfying! Midia was fantastic with a great sauce! Duck very tender! Suggest to have it.

Our small group visited this restaurant lately, and was definitely a great choice. Although there were seats available when we arrived, I would suggest making a reservation. The atmosphere is great, both inside and out. There are a lot of great choices that should cover everyone's tastes. The tuna starter was described by one of our group as one of his favorites he has ever had. The pizza was very good, and the T-bone was delicious. It came out on a hot plate with the steak sizzling. I thought the presentation was a bit off though - it came cut in pieces and "piled" on the plate instead of nicely carved off the bone. Overall a great meal. Thanks.

I would like to say big thank you to the service! Great job. But bad food and no taste and no flavour. Ordered pasta carbonara, spagetti broken and over boiled, no need for spoon, not great, sorry. And about the pizza alla carbonara- tastes like supermarket frozen pizza. I would say that the Lulu pica is better than that.

I like Italian food and there are few places which I visit in Riga. Here I am at Rossini. I think food here is delicious and is rich in taste. Prices are quite democratic (comparing to other restaurants in Latvia). There is great design elements. Must have to visit, if you like Italian cuisine.

Visited this restaurant three times already, always has great quality food and professional service. Everything I had was as supposed to be. Recommend: Florentine steak, carpaccio, sea-bas fillet. But the best was the Sicilian seafood soup.

It was a pleasant experience. The service and atmosphere was nice but unfortunately the flavors weren't quite there for the prices they were charging. It's nice Italian food but doesn't push it enough to meet the demands of what it's asking for. I definitely think the menu is too big and if they focused the menu more it could potentially have lots more flavors.

We visited this restaurant and unfortunately were disappointed with the food. The pizza arrived cold and did not taste good. Other dishes were also strange – some had too much pepper, others just tasted odd. The service itself was friendly and good, but the quality of the food did not match the price.

With a restaurant style that evokes dungeon-like ambiance and history in its décor, overall restrained and tasteful. However, the evening and the cuisine were a bit disappointing… We reserved a table for two but arrived at different times; the waiter seemed unsure of where our table was, but all was eventually found 😅. Service was slow and lengthy, but drinks arrived promptly, thank you. The taste quality of the dishes leaves something to be desired… the meat in the carpaccio was cold, the cheese was questionable (it said Parmesan, but clearly wasn't), though the fresh greens were hard to mess up 😄👌. The chicken pasta was average, except for the portion price; it was odd that it was overcooked for an Italian restaurant where you'd expect al dente… As for the veal medallions… tough; we asked for medium rare, which was correct, anyway the meat was so hard but sauce saved the dish. The pistachios and gorgonzola were clearly the highlights, special thanks to the chef 😂🙏🤌🏻. I'd like to mention the wine list separately; it's exceptionally good with pleasant bottle prices. You'll probably find everything you desire there. Perhaps we were just "lucky," and maybe other dishes truly deserve praise, such as the pizza, seafood, and desserts…idk Overall, it's worth noting that they don't serve bread baskets with oil and olives while waiting for your food; you have to order them separately, which slightly disrupts the concept of an Italian restaurant. Wonderful dinner during the Autumn Restaurant Week. Food was amazing, the atmosphere very cozy and service excellent! The wine pairings with the food menu were great as well. I definitely recommend and will make sure to come back.

Fantastic dinner, it was my third time in Garage, and it never disappoints. Every dish was on top level, my personal favourite was the starter - scallop ceviche, which surprised me as I don’t always like sea food. All dishes were elaborate and interesting, products fresh. They change menu every day. Waitress was very friendly, and recommended nice wine pairings to every dish. Definitely can recommend their tapas. Good choice of vegetarian options too. This place deserves a Michelin star ⭐️

What really elevated the meal was their **excellent selection of wines**. The staff was knowledgeable and let us **taste three different wines** before we made our choice, which was a fantastic touch. Very tasty food. Tried tulips and other vegetarian options during Rīga restaurant week. Portions are very small as expected in most restaurants, but the taste of the food was excellent. And dishes were delivered very fast. View outside the windows is also nice.

Excellent - we visited Vina bars Garage with a group of friends on 26.04, late in the evening. It was past closing time, the place was still packed, but the nice girl working there let us in (for one drink), arranged us a bigger table. As she was very busy, a guy who was actually working in the kitchen, took our orders. We ended up being the last guests, had more than a drink, were organized tapas plates and at the same time felt welcomed. In a very positive way the guy and the girl acted as I imagine an owner would/should act - proactive and finding solutions which results in more sales (but they were not the owners, we asked), so a huge thank you and we'll be back!
