Jubilee Joe's Cajun Seafood Restaurant is a laid-back, beachy eatery that specializes in authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine. The restaurant has won awards for its boiled crawfish and gumbo, and it hosts an annual crawfish boil with live entertainment. The business started as a project in a marketing class and has since become a popular spot known for its fresh, quality seafood dishes.
Update: 2nd trip, October 2025: Whoever is making this food has the best Etoufee recipe I’ve ever had. Don’t tell my family. And I hate to break it to all the expensive “original” restaurants by the water that I’ve been to… but this one is top tier for me. I will order this every single time from now on. Please do not change it. I would really love the recipe! This time the oysters were still very good, but a little over done. & The beignets were delicious and soft. 1st trip, September 3rd 2025: I had the best Rockefeller oysters I’ve ever had here. I mean better than I’ve had at the ocean a bazillion times. We came in a bout 30 mins before closing and they happily took us and served us some amazing food. Shrimp and grits were great too. All of it was. Even the kids food. Sweet tea was great. Hushpuppies were great. I was very impressed and that’s hard to do with seafood/cajun for me. I’m usually “meh, could’ve been better.” I’ll be back.

Though I'm not a seafood person, I love Cajun food, and Jubilee Joe's had enough offerings that split that difference to try out. Spacious patio seating and interior dining room intentionally evocative of New Orleans and French Quarter restaurants. Fairly busy at lunchtime on a summer Saturday. Service was very fast, friendly, and helpful. Ordered a cup of chicken & sausage gumbo, a cup of jambalaya, and the bread pudding for dessert. All were very good, and served quite fresh. Not the best Cajun I've had in the Birmingham area, but certainly not a disappointment, either.
Bryan C — Google review
Jubilee Joe’s was such a pleasant experience! I can’t believe I’ve been in the area for 10+ years and I’m just now visiting. All of the food was flavorful and fresh! The cocktails were strong, just how I like it. The staff is very friendly and I even had a chance to talk with the owner about the incredible history behind the restaurant. I can’t wait to introduce my friends and family to this place.
Sunasia M — Google review
Our food was just okay. My shrimp poboy was subpar at best. The ration of shrimp to bread was some of the worse I have had. I had the grilled shrimp, and they were a little over cooked. The seafood gumbo and the chicken and sausage gumbo were both tasty. The NOLA chicken was great! The bed of potatoes were nice and hot, and the chicken was seasoned well. My side of mashed potatoes were almost room temp. I would try again, however I would not reorder the poboy due to the ratio of meat to bread.
Willie M — Google review
The food and music were excellent, but our server Hope was the real MVP. She was super sweet and efficient & made excellent recommendations. Also, my husband drinks LOTS of tea. She never let his glass get empty, even though she was super busy. Check out Jubilee Joe’s and ask for Hope. She’ll take great care of you!
Tina K — Google review
The service was lovely and the food was filling and tasty. We had the fried green tomatoes, seafood gumbo, oysters Rockefeller and shrimp po boy. They staff was attentive and very friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!
Sue K — Google review
We celebrated our first Anniversary. We were overwhelmed with the quality of service, pleasant staff, especially our server Ray, and the ambiance. The expansive menu was filled with wonderful selections. My wife had a time trying to decide what to order. The food was exquisite! I'd heard great things about the peach martini from friends and... listen! They didn't do it justice! We will definitely be back!
Joi M — Google review
The catfish was great, the crawfish etouffee was really good, hush puppies were stadard good. The price was a good value given the amount of catfish I got. The service was good once it got rolling. I came at an odd time, so no big deal. I will definitely go back and expand my choices. Really liked the atmosphere.

Baha Burger is a rustic-modern joint adorned with surfboards and bamboo, offering a vibrant ambiance and incredible burgers, salads, sides, brownies, and pies. The menu features gourmet burgers like the Bacon Swiss burger with caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, Swiss cheese, mayo, and bacon at an affordable price. While the fried catfish sandwich was well-fried but lacked seasoning according to some patrons.
For anyone seeking the perfect blend of casual dining and gourmet burger craftsmanship in Hoover, Baha Burger is an absolute must-visit. Tucked away in Chace Circle, this gem has mastered the art of creating memorable burger experiences that keep locals coming back for more. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by an inviting atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between modern casual and comfortable dining. The restaurant's clean, well-maintained interior features warm lighting and an open-concept design that allows you to watch the culinary magic happen in the kitchen. The star of the show is, without question, their burgers. Using only premium-quality, never-frozen beef patties, each burger is cooked to perfection and dressed with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The brioche buns are perfectly toasted, providing that ideal combination of softness and slight crunch that every great burger needs. Their Bang Bang Burger is an absolute showstopper - a masterful creation that perfectly balances sweet, spicy, and savory flavors. The signature bang bang sauce adds a creamy, sweet-heat kick that's absolutely addictive, while the crispy fried onions provide a delightful crunch. Combined with perfectly melted cheese and fresh vegetables, it's a flavor explosion that sets a new standard for specialty burgers. The classic Baha Burger also deserves special mention - featuring perfectly melted cheese, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and their house-made Baha sauce that adds a creamy, slightly tangy kick to every bite. The patty itself is expertly seasoned and cooked to maintain its juiciness while developing a beautiful caramelized crust. The menu extends beyond just burgers, offering excellent sides like their hand-cut fries (perfectly crispy outside, fluffy inside) and onion rings that are worth every calorie. Their milkshakes are thick, creamy, and made with real ice cream - the perfect complement to any meal. The service is consistently outstanding, with staff who are both knowledgeable about the menu and genuinely enthusiastic about ensuring each customer has a great experience. Despite the high quality, prices remain reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food and service provided. Whether you're a local or just passing through Hoover, Baha Burger offers a dining experience that rivals any high-end burger establishment while maintaining the warmth and accessibility of a neighborhood favorite. It's clear why they've become a staple in the local dining scene.

Dropped by on the way home back to Chattanooga from a wedding, my bf got the Baha burger and I got the chicken tenders, he loved the burger, the chicken tenders were fresh, hot and lightly seasoned, very good. Only little complaint was that the tots were a bit too oily for me. Honey mustard seemed homemade too, all around a great stop. We will be back when we go see the botanical gardens again :)

We both had the two catfish fillet basket with onion rings, sweet potato fries, and okra. Everything was awesome! We were surprised because it was near closing time on a Sunday night, but everything was freshly fried. Super happy. The price was great, but it’s a bit odd to be prompted for a tip when you order before you receive any food or service.

On a very somber evening, I stopped by Baha Burger for the first time to pick up dinner after my grandmother’s funeral. The food was incredible, but what truly earned my loyalty was the kindness of who I believe to be the owner or a manager. As I was leaving, it started pouring, and without hesitation, he handed me his umbrella so I could make it to my car. That simple gesture meant the world on such a hard day. I’m genuinely blown away. I’ll definitely be back!

Everything ive tried here is good. Staff is friendly and orders come out quick! Try the Mediterranean salad with chicken.

We went for the first time yesterday. The cashier didn’t act like they wanted to be there and honestly the burger I got was nothing to write home about. The “ old fashion bun” more like a dinner roll

Best burgers around, and the "Crispy Chick" chicken sandwich is unbelievable! Food comes out quickly, piping hot, and cooked to perfection. The prices are reasonable, and the owner Eric does a fantastic job. Try it once, and you will keep coming back!

Great burgers. Chili cheese fries were exactly the way I like them. Good thick chili and real cheese. My wife doesn't eat beef and they had a great turkey burger she enjoyed.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is a chain restaurant that offers a dining experience in an upscale lodge-like setting. Despite being a franchised name, this American steakhouse is known for its delicious lunch, dinner, dessert, and drink menus. The elegant rustic vibe of the restaurant adds to its charm and it's one of the best-rated restaurants in Hoover. Guests have praised the attentive service and excellent recommendations provided by the staff.
My daughter and I came 06/13 and honestly some of THE best customer service I’ve ever had. Halle was our server and she was phenomenal. I asked what I should get and all her recommendations landed. A lot of managers passed by, but Stacy was the most memorable and put the cherry on top for customer service. For them alone I would return. For food we ordered the following: Me: Old fashioned: 9/10 good and strong Cheese steak egg rolls: 10/10 full of flavor and complimenting sauce. Caesar salad: 9/10 homemade sauce, a little anchovy forward, so might not be for everyone. Firebird chicken pasta (no bacon): 8/10 I loved the spicy and flavorful profile. Pasta Alden te. Would get again. Crème brûlée cheesecake bites: 10/10 phenomenal! Kiddo: Grilled chicken: 7/10 juicy Mac and cheese: 10/10 very cheesy, good flavor Fresh fruit: Didn’t eat Sundae: 10/10 devoured it I recommend coming here. Bull was under $100.

Service was absolutely the worse. My partner and I went for a celebration to only get over looked and not waited on. It took 17 min if not longer if I didn’t speak up to get only tea and bread. Once taken care of by the manager who assigned us his best server Gabe we still experienced the worse service ever. Gabe never came back and assisted us for another 20 min, if once again I didn’t speak with the manager. The manager had to wait on us the whole 2 hours we were there because they were so slow and biased to what it felt like. As we sat there on a Monday with the joint not being busy we still did not get any service. I raved about this place to my partner for him to experience this crap. The food was great as the last visit, but the service was so bad that I would not return nor recommend. But mannnn that pork chop tomahawk is to die for if you’re willing to wait for service.

The Lobster Spinach Queso was very good with big chunks of Lobster. The bread was freshly baked. I ordered the "Three Courses"- Grilled Sirloin, BLT salad & Creme Brulee Cheesecake & my wife got the same but with the Wood Grilled Chicken & Chocolate Brownie Sundae. My sirloin was under cooked however the manager took it back to have it cooked longer & brought me a fresh plate of sides. Other than that the food was very good, not used to food this fancy. The service was OK, our server didn't come around much & said it was his 1st time serving the patio.

Those Philly eggrolls were delicious. I ordered the salmon which was kind of bland, nothing spectacular. Loved the ambience and we had a really attentive waitress.
Catherine S — Google review
One of our favorite restaurants. We love their BBQ ribs. The sauce is amazing and the ribs are so tender. The corn, parmesan mashed potatoes, and broccoli are so delicious. The salad with steak on top is also a favorite of mine and the bread is wonderful. This is the best place for you special occasions. The service is top notch. The atmosphere has a dark and woodsy feel.

We went on Mothers Day. This was my first time going. They said a 35 minute wait but we got seated like 5 minutes later . The service was 10/10 ! She didn’t miss a refill . If you don’t like fat on your steak , I recommend the sirloin . There was absolutely no fat on my steak. It was so good. I added the Cajun Butter. Definitely would come here again.
Baeby A — Google review
Ordered steak. Was served room temp steak and the steak was overcooked. Server offered to have kitchen put it back on grill. It was already overcooked, so opted for a new steak. By the time it was served my party was finished. Had it put in a to go box. My meal came with a dessert so I also got a bread pudding to go. This is what I got, compared to what it was supposed to look like. Spent $165 for 3 people to have lunch. I’ve eaten at Firebirds many times, and it has always been excellent, but this time I ended up with a brown glob of an unknown substance on my steak and a big scoop of dog vomit for dessert. I’m appalled. These are photos of what I got compared to what was advertised.

I want to thank the staff at Firebirds for being so amazing to me after being late for a work meet up! They were so nice and honestly a very much needed pick me up after the hours of waiting on I-20 traffic. I recommend eating here if anyone is every in the Hoover/Birmingham area! Again thank you so much to Madison my server and her manager Josh for being so nice and courteous to me when they didn't have to be. You went above and beyond!!

Bellini's Ristorante & Bar is an Italian-infused steakhouse located in Birmingham, off Highway 280. It offers a comfortable setting to savor aged steaks, housemade pastas, and other Tuscan dishes for lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday. The restaurant was conceptualized over wine by Doug and Niki Hovanec in 2008. Locals are drawn to the authentic Italian cuisine and stay for the indulgent desserts.
Pictured are Chicken Alla Vodka and Seafood Risotto. Both were delicious. We also had the crab claws, which were great. The restaurant was clean, with a pleasant atmosphere and nice decor. The hosts and servers were also very kind. Excellent experience.

Bellini’s is absolutely fabulous! We only go once a year but savor every moment. My only disappointment was the special was not available, the reason we went. Bartender Chas was knowledgeable, friendly, and helped us with our cocktail choices. When our table was ready Shawna was helpful, accommodating, and checked on us when we needed attention. We shared a small salad, grouper over risotto, and braciole. All were tasty and appropriate portions. Looking forward to next year.
Mike K — Google review
Service and atmosphere were excellent, but if I'm being honest, the food overall was only slightly above average. Our appetizer (Fried Artichoke Pieces) was not very good. My meal (Chicken Marsala), and my son's meal (Pizza) were average... My wife's meal (Crab Cakes) was a little better... And then my daughter's meal (Spaghetti & Meatballs) was by far the best. Their meatballs are very very good. I will certainly be back one day for their meatballs.
Greg C — Google review
Amazing experience all around!! Both the food and service were great. We had a short wait for our reservation, and were served complementary glasses of champagne while we waited! They went above and beyond for us and it was greatly appreciated. Will definitely be back!
Kelly E — Google review
Very unique little Italian place! Went for a nice dinner out to open the holiday season before other craziness. Was fairly busy, especially considering it was a Monday night, but we had a reservation and were seated quickly. Feels like the space wasn't originally designed for a restaurant, but the brickwork, wine racks, bar, and use division of the space (including dividing curtains) were lovely touches. Nice patio for warmer weather, as well. Our main server was very friendly, helpful and attentive, but they might have been training some new staff when we were there. He had to go guide some at one point, and we were asked if our plates were ready to be cleared multiple times when there was still food on our plates that we were actively eating! Didn't affect us much, thankfully, just a little odd, and all our food and drinks were ready pretty quickly. Ordered the penne a la vodka, filet mignon, white chocolate bread pudding, creme brulee, and a bellini and espresso martini. The complementary bread & oil were fantastic, but not automatically refilled. Drinks were excellent and hit the spot. Steak was great, and they made a point of asking if we wanted to slice into it to ensure done-ness; when it was a little too rare, they readily put it back on for a bit. The pasta and desserts were very good. Creme brulee was more creamy and liquid than others (not a bad thing for us), and it was a bit hard to judge the quality of the bread pudding itself because it was smothered in tasty white chocolate sauce.
Bryan C — Google review
Food and service was excellent. The atmosphere was romantic. The cocktails are made to perfection and I had no complaints. Will definitely be somewhere we will visit more often.
Greenbeast1992 — Google review
We had a GREAT experience tonight. We didn’t have reservations and they gave us the option of bar service or a high table in the bar area. We went with the high table — perfectly fine for my wife and I. We were taken care of exceptionally by Alemnesh. Food was excellent along with the atmosphere. I never had an empty glass 👌🏻 Felt like a hidden gem that locals enjoy. (We’re traveling and not from the Hoover area)

Went to Bellini's for a belated birthday gift!!! Reservation was for 7:30, which they did have a table ready at 7:21. The decor, food, and service were really good, but the bread pudding was truly amazing. My friend got the chicken marsala and added shrimp, which was ok to me. I got the blackened grouper oscar, which was really good, but the asparagus could have been warmer and a little more seasoned. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, but we did have to ask for our complimentary bread. I definitely recommend and plan to go back one day for the bread pudding.

My husband and I brought our son and nephew for their first Twin Peaks experience and it was top notch. Sarah was our server and she was so bubbly and amazing! Super fast and friendly service. She made sure to tell us specials and gave us great recommendations. She kept us all smiling, especially the boys. Needless to say, they loved their first time at Twin Peaks. 1st time visitor from little ol Palm Harbor, FL. Nyah was top notch in service and recommendations. Even better she represented Auburn while everyone else had on Bama attire (gross). Outstanding Service from Karen! I had the pleasure of being served by Karen during my recent visit, and I just had to take a moment to say how wonderful she was. From the moment we were seated, Karen was warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. She had a sweet and genuine personality that made the entire experience feel more personal and enjoyable. She checked on us just the right amount—never intrusive, but always there when we needed something. She got our order exactly right, made great recommendations, and her positive attitude really stood out. It’s rare to find someone who clearly enjoys what they do and goes above and beyond to make customers feel valued. Thank you, Karen, for your kindness and excellent service. You truly made our meal memorable, and we’ll definitely be back!

Nestled in the vibrant Bywater neighborhood, Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint Birmingham is a must-visit for burger enthusiasts and beer lovers alike. This lively eatery boasts a quirky brown-and-yellow striped exterior that sets the tone for its casual atmosphere. Known for its creative burgers, like the indulgent Cowboy burger topped with BBQ sauce and applewood smoked bacon, there's something to satisfy every craving on their extensive menu.
Haven’t tasted the burgers yet, but Damn, what a grilled cheese sandwich! Like no other, ‘The Frankie Brady’ has just been added to the list of OMG! Perfect combination of mac n cheese and crunch from the chips. Never knew this duo needed each other so much for the perfect amount of yum ;-) Will definitely be back for seconds. Both the traditional and sweet potato fries are a great addition to the sandwich. Sauce that came with the meal was the icing on top. Thoroughly enjoyed👌

Great specialty burger joint! Never been to a location before. Initially intended to order for pickup, but the Birmingham location does not have that enabled online, and we couldn't even get the phone to ring when calling, so takeout seems to not be an option. Ended up dining in, and had a great experience. Busy, cluttered interior that is definitely a favorite on sports weekends. Two dining rooms, one in front and one in a covered patio up some stairs and out back. Wait for a table was about 30 minutes at noon on a Saturday, but we walked right up to the bar. Staff was incredibly friendly, and food was ready in good time. Ordered a Dirty Dan cocktail, an Elvis burger, and a Greg Brady burger with an extra patty. All were excellent. Just the right amount of peanut butter on the Elvis, didn't squish out at all. The Greg Brady was overwhelmingly cheesy in the best way possible. While we did not order any, their fries appear to be crinkle cut, for reference. Looking forward to coming back and trying all the other unique burgers they offer!

One of the best burgers I've eaten!! Basic menu, simple presentation but the food was delicious and very well priced. The venue is definitely out of the ordinary. It was loud and cold upstairs. The server was friendly, there was a bit of a wait all round, but overall worth a trip.

7 countries, 36 states..... Top three burger for sure! I had the Cobra Kai with pickled jalapenos and jalapeno jelly and it was incredible. My wife had the Dr. Gonzo with grilled mushrooms, caramelized onions, bacon and Swiss cheese and it was incredible as well. First time ever having sweet potato fries that are actually cooked correctly. Sweet and crispy. And the homemade aoli was also amazing. Service was fast and attentive. Atmosphere is very unique as well. Super hip place with incredible music. Although it was packed it wasn't to loud and no long wait on the hot fresh food. I would 100% recommend eating here even if you have to travel to get here. This is for sure our go to burger place in the entire state!!!

I had the 'Scorcher' burger and it did not fail to scorch! Grilled jalapeños and habaneros over a perfectly grilled patty. Deliciously pared with a Belgian style ale. And their beer selection is amazing.

Over Easy is a retro diner in Birmingham that serves up delicious breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. Their menu features classic dishes like eggs Benedict, oatmeal pancakes, and huevos rancheros. The restaurant offers something for everyone with local grits and sausage on the menu as well as affordable options like biscuits and gravy for just $8 which comes with a cup of fresh fruit.
The food was really great. It was very fresh and they have a lot of unique choices. The oatmeal pancakes were really good and they have delicious biscuits. The service was also fantastic, especially considering how short handed they were due to the labor shortage. They still worked hard to get us our food quickly and refreshed our coffee frequently.

My new favorite spot! Family friendly and easy in and out. The menu has so many great options to choose from making this a frequent breakfast stop in order to try everything. I’m already planning my next t trip! Love the healthy options available!

Went here for breakfast and enjoyed it very much. We had the Pepe Le French Toast and the Biscuits n' Gravy. The French Toast was great with sausage and bacon. There wasn't too much cream cheese between the French Toast but enough so that syrup really isn't needed. The biscuits n' gravy were good but the gravy was somewhat bland. Also, I prefer having sausage bits in my sausage gravy but there was none in this particular type. For some this may be good but for me, it left me a little wanting. Still this was a good atmosphere and good food.

Amazing food and service. Was greeted before we even walked in the door by Charles and everyone was really nice. The food was delicious and the coffee was smooth. We were traveling but would definitely come here again. Charles was not our server but was very friendly and made sure everything was running well. Not sure his position, but he should be manager for sure. He was awesome

Everything we ordered was delicious and crafted of rich, varied flavors. Service was excellent. Healthy options available. But the prime reason to go is the biscuits - I have not had a better biscuit in Birmingham!

Jake's Soulfood Cafe Hoover is a no-frills eatery that offers a mix of Southern soul food and Caribbean cuisine with a family-owned charm. Established in 2014, this restaurant serves up hearty, down-home dishes alongside Jamaican and Caribbean plates. The menu features crispy fried chicken, fluffy waffles, oxtails, mac and cheese, okra, and more. The flavors are bold and authentic, reminiscent of home-cooked meals from Louisiana.
I enjoyed my time here. The food I got tasted amazing and it had a lot of flavor. I got the Catfish Plate with Mac & Cheese and Caribbean Rice. Definitely worth the price. Would recommend to all of my friends.

Jake's Soulfood Cafe: A Must-Visit for Authentic Southern Comfort I recently had the pleasure of dining at Jake's Soulfood Cafe, and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, the fun, welcoming atmosphere set the perfect tone. The vibrant wall mural with the "Welcome" signs and the quirky cutout immediately made me feel at home. The food was the true highlight. I ordered the Sourthern Combination plate with turkey wings and a perfectly breaded piece of fish. The sides were just as incredible—the macaroni and cheese was rich and creamy, and the cabbage was seasoned to perfection. Every single item on the plate tasted like genuine, homemade soul food. This isn't just a meal; it's an experience. If you're looking for an authentic taste of Southern comfort food in a cheerful setting, I highly recommend Jake's Soulfood Cafe. You won't be disappointed!

The street to get there is a little dicey but once you get in there the food is pretty good! The sides we had were Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens, Fried Okra, Cornbread, and Mashed Sweet Potato. Every side we had was bussin! Cornbread was a little dry but still good! Okra was fresh, Mac & Cheese was hittin different and the Greens were greening! Best I've had from fast food in awhile! Now the Chicken was a little big and I know that throws some people off but honestly it was okay too. I've had better but the side were worth it alone! If you're out near the Galleria give it a shot if you feel like soul food!

I’m about 7 1/2 months pregnant and was craving soul food on this Saturday. I googled some soul food spots and went straight to Hoover to try Jake’s everything was absolutely delicious and fulfilled my cravings. I got jerk chicken (wanted to try turkey wings but they were out) collard greens, cabbage , and Mac n cheese even the cornbread was delicious and I don’t eat cornbread like that. Very tasty and delicious I’ll be back i promise. My baby was turning around in my belly they like it as well !! Thank you 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First and foremost, the cashier had an unpleasant attitude. We ordered three meals: the oxtails were tough and COLD and the rice was cold and hard. Despite complaining and receiving a replacement, the second plate was still cold. The catfish was mostly breading, and the greens were unappetizing. The fried plantains were passable, but overall, the food was disappointing. I wouldn’t return, especially after spending $97.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Jamaican restaurant. For their prices you are getting an incredibly bountiful amount of food in every meal. I have eaten here a couple of years ago and the environment has dramatically changed, it looks great. The quality of their dishes has not changed, still are delicious and absolutely flavorful. You have to experience it for yourself to understand why this place is a recommendation by all who have been here.

Nestled in the heart of Southside, The Garage is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy lively conversations over cold beers and hearty pub fare. This unique dive bar boasts a charming rustic vibe with its concrete patio surrounded by quirky glass-doored garages filled with vintage treasures. Open since 2014, it has quickly become a local favorite where regulars gather whenever the weather permits.
Highly recommended by locals. Great place. Easy parking (may be different at peak hours). Staff were amazing. Walked us through order process. Ordered Reubens, which were excellent. Bar area at entrance and beautiful outdoor courtyard with plenty of seating. Prices were competitive. I would absolutely visit again.

Didn't know what to expect as we walked in. Meal after Sunday message was the goal. Small but invitingly interesting. The menu consisted of sandwiches, soup, and tuna salad. The place is actually more of a pub as it had a vast beer selection. I had the Fritz, which was delicious and HUGE!! Enjoyed the meal and the experience.

This was my first time here, met my cousin here for lunch and loved the atmosphere and the ambiance of the place! Not pretentious and very unique - it is definitely a hidden gem! Loved the uniqueness of how it was set up - if you wanted something from the bar, you went up to the bar and ordered it, if you wanted water- it is self served. Food was ordered around the corner from the grill and actually got to pick all your ingredients and tell the actual cooks! Received my order and it was delicious and just like I ordered!!!! Loved it and will be back soon!

This is where I take visitors from out of town. This is where I encourage people to try it out for a special meal. LOVE this place. EVERYTHING is good. Bacon bomb app? Yes, please. Shrimp and grits? The BEST this side of Savannah (better here, really). From salads to kebabs, everything on the menu is good. The service is friendly. And the prices are very, very reasonable. I’ve never had a disappointing meal from the Front Porch.

We were in Ross Bridge for the farmers market and decided to try Front Porch while we were there. We were seated immediately and met by our server at our table of choice on the patio. We chose to start with the bacon bombs and cheese curds. This was an excellent choice!! Bacon wrapped kielbasa in a candied BBQ style sauce! Sign me up for seconds! The cheese curds were great as well! Deep fried and melted to perfection!! Even better when you dip them in the bacon bomb sauce. My wife got the chicken finger platter and I grabbed the chicken lettuce wraps. Chicken fingers were hand breaded and fried crisp. She asked for extra bacon bomb sauce to dip them in. Sweet potato fries were crispy with a honey sauce. Chicken lettuce wraps had an excellent taste but were a little dry. Made from breast meat, just seemed a little over cooked. Service was excellent, patio was nice and airy with a view of the street and area. Restaurant was clean and quiet. Would stop by again when we are in the area!

Hidden gem. I LOVE THIS PLACE. These photos are from my first visit but now I'm obsessed with their wings and that's what I get every single time. Get half Korean half Lemon Pepper. SO good. Fries and ranch. I'm drooling just thinking about it. And they're fast. And I do enjoy their other foods that I've had. My boyfriend liked his buffalo wrap.

The Front Porch is an awesome neighborhood gastro pub with friendly service and excellent food. Plus, if you sit on the "front porch", you can bring your furry, four legged friend. Since my brother had never sampled TFP, I chose it for a Saturday lunchtime excursion. I had the Strawberry Fields salad with grilled chicken and balsamic dressing. My brother selected the Turkey Club with fresh fruit. Both of us were very pleased with our food choices, and dining outside on a lovely spring day made it even better. The salad, with fresh greens, onions, almonds, feta and balsamic dressing, was very tasty. My brother said he enjoyed every bite of his turkey club and strawberries. This is definitely a restaurant that I would recommend. It's neat, the surroundings are nuevo quaint, the service is super and the prices are reasonable. It is high on my list of places to return when I'm in the area.

The grilled chicken sandwich was delicious and the sweet potato fries were firm and flavorful during my visit. The caramel drizzle was tasty but extremely sweet. Not bad, just super sweet. I spied a few other dishes at the table I definitely want to give a shot in the future.

All I can say is wow. Loved my first trip to this perfect little place in Hoover. The place is located in a beautiful upscale neighborhood. The atmosphere is was nice. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The place was super clean. Plenty of seating inside and sweet little outside patio. They have a nice drink menu with a few of their on creations. The food selection was a nice list as well. Let me say this. The food was amazing. My burger was so well cooked and the flavor was amazing. I definitely plan on going back to try a few more items. The turkey bacon sandwich was so tasty as well. The fries were cooked perfectly.

We came here the Saturday before Mother’s Day fully expecting to wait forever. We were seated quickly. The staff was very nice and there was so much food. We tried the candied bacon bombs and the lemon pepper wings. Both were very good. The kids in our party got pizza and loved it. Everything looked very appetizing and tasted better. Side note: if you are a person that cares about ice, they have the small round ice in their drinks!!

The Magic City Grille is a delicious and down-home staple in Birmingham, Alabama serving hearty Southern plates that are enjoyed by locals and people from the surrounding areas. The menu features dishes such as mashed potatoes, meaty collards, creamy mac and cheese, and perfectly cooked cornbread.
I am still full and hungry 8 hours later. Every mortal on my play was delicious! The atmosphere wonderful, our waitress superb and funny. She was warm and inviting. We sat in the first booth and looked out the window and watched TV. I had the hot bar- roast beef with ice potato's and carrots, mashed potatoes and cabbage, roll and half tea half lemonade. Peach cobbler for desert. My son had breakfast: scrambled eggs with cheese, grits, bacon and 3 pancakes!. He ate it all! Took home a slice of key lime cake. It was moist, very flavorful and just the right about of icing. We will be back!

Y'all don't My Granny but...I had some of the best Chicken and Dressing I've had in my life here today! They offer a buffet of Southern home cooking...think all the good stuff...cabbage(also a stand out) greens, peas, mac, fried chicken, liver and onions...you get the idea. Tried as much as I could and liked everything I tried. Service was friendly. I'll be back next time I'm in BHM.

Soooo.I haven't been to Magic City Grill downtown in years. Partly, because I can never catch them open after work, as they close at 2:00 p.m. 🤣🤣🤣 Anywho, I was off on yesterday and stopped by. I ordered pancakes 🥞 and fried chicken wings. 🍗🍗 Ok, so really the pancake and chicken was hitting on ALL levels. Man, the pancakes were huge and made with sweet batter and the chicken wasn't fried hard and guess what? It was actually seasoned. 🤭🤭 I was eating and patting my feet!😆😆 On other notes, the buffet is still around; however, because of covid, it's not an all you can eat. 😝 You can pick meat and 2 etc. Also, now you pay before you get your food. Your food is served in styrofoam trays with plastic silverware. The prices 🤑🤑 are still hovering around affordable and the service is great! Even with all that, the GREAT SOUL food is still worth the stop by!🙌🙌💯💯

Horrible experience for the 2nd time! I should have not tried them again but always like to give the benny! I should have known when Fife's was crowded with Magic City Classic people, and they only had 2 customers being not even 2 blocks away. Before my friend ordered for me, (remind you we only went because Fifes had an hour wait and we had to get back to work) I had her to ask the lady was the steaks good, her reply was: "everything is good" :( I said let me try the T-bone steak plate, Medium! When she got back to the office the steak was not only well done but so hard and dry as if he fried the steak in a deep fryer! for 17 bucks they could have at least made it look presentable. The hashbrowns were so mediocre I don't know how you mess them up and full of grease that settled in the bottom of the plate. Eggs had no seasoning at all, and the toast was just light bread with a smudge of heat on them! Ugh. I am so upset because I was hungry! I could have paid 8 bucks for an amazing breakfast at Fifes! the hour would have been worth the wait if my friend didn't have to get back to work. So disappointed and this was my second time but best believe it will be my last! I hated it...again ! Im a foodie and try food all places regardless of price, this just took me out because I really was hungry. I do not recommend eating here. Its definitely not the best in Birmingham, not even close. BTW my friend had bacon plate and she was not pleased either..

Nestled in the vibrant Five Points South area, Pop's Neighborhood Grill is a charming family-owned eatery that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since 2010. Founded by Heather Guarino, who grew up immersed in the culinary world thanks to her father's hot dog shops, this restaurant pays homage to her roots while offering a diverse menu.
I did not expect the pop culture paraphernalia anime, video games, Star Trek and even Atlanta's Dragon con. The service A+ I asked what their specialty was and was very satisfied with their suggestion. The food A+ I had the bacon mushroom burger with their original sauce with the loaded fries. The place has that feel like they've been there since the 60s which I'm a big fan. I'm always up for ma and pa joints that have survived throughout the decades. Makes me feel at home. Can't wait to go through the rest of the menu. Definitely recommending this place to everyone I know. Thank you guys and I'll see you at Dragon con next year!

This is a great place. We were driving through to stop ata different store and grabbed lunch. I had Philly cheese that was phenomenal. My son had double burger and he said it was hands down top 5. The one missing star is due to parking, it is very limited. Staff was super friendly. Inside is nice. Cool art hanging. Bathrooms are rough. Small and that old building dirty.

I love a good Philly Cheese steak sandwich. Pop's did not disappoint. It was one of the best I've tasted in a long time. The fries were fresh, hot, crispy outside and tender inside. Service was with a smile and the staff made sure we knew they appreciated our business Great experience! 😄

I had breakfast here for the first time, and I'm definitely making this part of my routine. I really enjoyed the pork tenderloin biscuit. The biscuit was fluffy and crumbly (in a good way) but didn't leave my mouth dry. At some restaurants I feel the need to add jelly or honey or at least butter, but not here. The cheese grits were also well seasoned. The put a slice of cheese under the grits and shredded cheese on top. *pro gamer move* I can't wait to try more of their delicious food. I was eating a late breakfast (after 9:00 a.m.) and they were offering the breakfast and lunch menu. I'm not sure if that's always the case, but great to have the options.

Good ingredients. Great portions. Great prices. Served by somebody really friendly and happy. I found out that the lady that was working the register was in fact the owner of the restaurant. THE BEST HOTDOG IN BIRMINGHAM, PERIOD. My wife and I first ran across them a few years back at Pepper Place, when we had their slaw dogs. They were INCREDIBLE (more detail to come). But we couldn't remember their name, so over the last few years, after they stopped selling at Pepper Place, we kept trying different places in town in a vain attempt to find them - but it was never the same. Today we FINALLY found them: Pop's! And OMG, their slaw dogs are every bit as INCREDIBLE as we remembered. With a hotdog, it's all about THE DOG. So many people forget this! The DOG has to be flavorful, with just the right about of toothiness to the skin and char. If the dog isn't right, it doesn't matter what else they do with it and all the crap they pile on it! Well, the Pop's dogs are PHENOMENAL - BIG flavor, and perfectly cooked! But then their SLAW - the perfect balance of sweet and sour, and their cabbage is so fresh (good crunch!). And on top of that, their sauce adds just that perfect extra punch of flavor. So yeah, truly a transcendent experience, if you're a hot dog fan. Oh! Their onion rings were perfect as well - not too heavy, perfect balance of crust to onion, and perfect crunch. And THE STAFF ARE SO FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING!!! It's always a good sign when you come in, sit down, and people flowing in and out of the restaurant are all being greeted by name and asked about family members etc. Truly a neighborhood gem! THANK YOU POPS!!!

I love this place. I sometimes run into the owner & he always kindly open the door for me. And my bowls are always delicious. Today was the very first time I received poor service. I placed my order and as usual I go ahead and rate it when they send my receipt. But the cashier was very rude and seemed a little confused? She had messed up an order right before me. What really made me angry was she passed 4 people their order that ordered after me. I went up and politely said did you forget me. She said oh, let me put the tops on it?? My bowls were just sitting there uncovered. I said ma’am why did you just let it sit while you pass others their bowls? Her response it ain’t gonna melt??? Really??? Because I was angry I said to myself just walk away. That was not what she was supposed to do or say. She needs to realize that service like that hurts the business. I buy bowls often and did not appreciate being treated like that. I hope someone reads it and inform her that is not a way to treat someone who buys bowls 2-3 times weekly. If that happens again. I’ll just use the one in Trussville.

I just walked in here with my sister and I was raving to her how much I love the juices here. I’m from out of town but the last time I was here there was a sweet girl that helped me pick out the best juices. Today, There was a man, and if I need to be descriptive, he had dreads and glasses and he was so rude. He did not say hello, and when I asked for a little carry out to hold all the bottles, he said it in such a mean way. I am so shocked, This place usually has amazing customer service and it’s sad that their personality is overtaking a place that’s suppose to make you feel better. If I wasn’t running on time, I definitely would’ve gone to another juice place.

An AMAZING breakfast!! The big bad skillet had ham and sausage and egg and onion, and then topped off with freshly shredded cheddar cheese. They cook their eggs in butter, which makes a huge difference in taste. House made bacon, jams, orange juice and biscuits were chef’s kiss! 😘 I saw a carton of Florida oranges being toted over to the juicer and couldn’t resist. Some of the best OJ ever. You could taste the fresh blueberries and blackberries in their jams. The honey was a rich local honey. You can even get their fresh squeezed OJ to go in a glass bottle. Clean friendly environment. Loved this place and will happily stop by when in Birmingham again.

Had the French toast the taste was good but def left me wanting more bread in my dish but I did enjoy it the pancakes were very good just on those too much to eat they will def fill you up if your interested in a sugary treat and to top it off the biscuits and gravy were a wonderful taste I highly recommend the biscuits! The environment was nice however certain floors are only available by stairs has bathrooms on each floor aswell

Do not go on the weekends unless you want to wait for seats and like extremely loud atmosphere. We tried on a Sunday and there was a 30 minute wait list. We were able to go back today, Monday, and there was seating readily available and it was not loud at all. There is seating downstairs and upstairs. We went upstairs and it is really nice up there. We got different dishes today since we had gone to the other Big Bad Breakfast on Hwy 280 the day prior. Again the food was delicious and the service was quick (12 PM time frame). Thanks to our server for recommending other locations we could go to see and shop.

Good breakfast spot. Had about a 30 min wait for a table. Friendly staff that was very attentive to our needs at the tabke. Food was fulfilling. Ham and cheese omelet was very tasty with a hearty amount of ingredients insie. Would definitely visit again if provided the opportunity.

This place is amazing! The food was superb, the atmosphere is nice - music was loud enough to hear but quiet enough to have a conversation. Our waitress was wonderful, attentive, and polite. Definitely will be going back and 110% recommend this place. You will need to budget wait time when planning a visit here especially on the weekend. Well worth the wait!

This is my 3rd location to visit and they never miss. Our server Isaac was so friendly . Our food was served promptly and was hot and delicious. I had the biscuit crumble and my husband had the big bad biscuit.

Although the wait was a bit long the savory meal was worth it. I had the Cathead Chicken biscuit, my lovely Bama Beauty had Huevos Rancheros in grits. Our drinks were a margarita and a screwdriver which both tasted very well.

Purple Onion is a charming spot with a diverse menu that has something for everyone. The turkey melt wrap and onion rings are just the beginning of their delicious offerings. Visitors have raved about the juicy and flavorful burgers, perfectly seasoned fries, and delectable combination BBQ potato. The barbecue sauce has been described as intriguing and tangy, adding an extra layer of flavor to the dishes. Customers have also appreciated the helpful recommendations from the staff, making their dining experience even more enjoyable.
The food was delicious. The wait time wasn’t long at all. The food portions were plentiful. I had to take a to go plate for my burger and fries. It does cost extra for bbq sauce but refills on drinks are free. The entrees are a little pricey but for the amount of food you get it’s worth it.

This place is so overpriced! My wings weren't tossed, they just poured the sauce on it. I had a couple of wings with only a drizzle. I got a wings combo (8 pieces), and it was $17.04. I will not return and would not recommend.

Stopped by after an event. There were people already in there complaining about their food so our food was freshly made. The workers barely understood what you were saying so it was kind of frustrating
LaTonya F — Google review
Pros: Guy at the drive-thru was polite and thorough. Cons: Drive thru took almost a full 20 minutes to make our food. I had to go inside and check on it and saw the cook behind the counter in the kitchen eating fries while making the food. Once we got it, my burger was squashed and overdone, fries feel stiff and stale and the Coke tastes watered-down. Got three meals and paid almost 50 bucks but would likely have gotten better food at the McDonald’s on the street for 20 bucks less.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Horrible customer service, lady with the pink sheet over her head is very rude, not understanding, slammed the door in my face and walked away. She acted as if I come there all the time, and knew what to order. No help. I am the customer lady! I was not rude, just wanted an understanding of your options! I will never be back and hope she looses her job! She doesn’t need to be interacting with customers! I own my own restaurant and would never treat a customer as such!! Livid still!! Just disrespectful and rude!

I love the presentation! I always order via uber eats and they put a little fruit and it’s so good! I had their salad and love the hummos! Only thing I took a star off for is the chicken kabob, maybe if it’s just me but the taste is a little off, it slightly smells like cleaning product. But other than that, good food!

Passing through town and thought the name was cute so we stopped. I was wondering about a 3.8 star review average on Google, but I'm glad we came. The burger was juicy and delicious. The fries were seasoned wonderfully and didn't even need ketchup. The combination bbq potato was so good. It was well baked. Even bits with no topping (just potato, salt, and pepper) were great. Some places over cook their potatoes leaving a hard shell. This was delicious to the last bite. And their bbq sauce is interesting. Tangy. I like it. Big thank you to the wonderful lady at the register for taking time out of training the new hire to give us a list of recommendations. We are so glad we stopped in.

Ordered the bacon cheeseburger combo, don't order this unless you eat turkey bacon. It's not the same, I would just get a cheeseburger. I didn't taste any bacon, I eat turkey bacon but not on my cheese burger 🤦🏿‍♀️🤷🏿‍♀️

Cuban restaurant
Kool Korner Sandwiches is not your average sandwich shop; it’s a delightful family-owned gem that has journeyed from Cuba to Atlanta and now calls Vestavia home. This eatery boasts an impressive menu filled with authentic Cuban flavors, making it a standout in the Birmingham metro area. Diners rave about their signature Cuban sandwiches, which are consistently praised for their quality and taste.
Since my first Cuban sandwich from a street vendor in Miami back in the late 70s, I have been searching for a Cuban sandwich that compares to that memorable experience. Every Cuban paled in comparison to that wonderful first experience. I tried them from everywhere. Thank goodness for Kool Corner. If you want an authentic Cuban sandwich go here. Friendly folks and a cozy atmosphere. Prices are very affordable. I can't wait to go back.
Chip C — Google review
Visiting Birmingham to tour the UAB Solar House, I knew we had to sample some good eats before heading home. I selected Kool Korner Sandwiches because sadly the main spot to get a good Cuban in Huntsville closed a few years ago, so it seemed like an opportune time to get that craving met. The location is a little nondescript and hard to see from the street (at least the way we came), but there's ample parking. Stairs lead up to a small front area (few chairs and tables for outside dining) and then into the somewhat dimly lit restaurant. It seemed clean inside and I liked the relative straightforwardness of their menu: sandwiches, a few soups, and some odds and ends like tamales, empanadas, and pastelitos. Counter service was exceedingly friendly and attentive to our orders, ensuring we got exactly what we wanted and offering to remove any topics we found offending. I got the chicken sandwich, while my mom got a traditional Cuban while my dad tried the medianoche sandwich. Most sandwiches follow a standard topping formula of cheese, mayo, mustard, and pickles on Cuban style bread; the main differentiator is your protein of choice. And, of course, the medianoche comes on softer egg dough bread. We were all very happy with our sandwiches. We each got regular size with chips; the full thing was plenty for me and my parents both saved half of each of their sandwiches for later. I tried a bite of each sandwich and they were all delicious in their own way. The cheese and mayo make it nice and gooey, but the bread, mustard, and pickles really make the sandwich -- such a distinct and delicious combination. None of the meats were dry, not even the chicken, and the bread was so nice and crispy (or soft, in the case of the medianoche). Although I definitely enjoyed my sandwich, I think the Cuban and medianoche were a little bit better -- I guess they're classics for a reason :) I just tend to not eat a ton of pork, but that's on me lol. I will say I didn't really care for their chip selection. It was mostly a combination of Voodoo and Golden Flake chips. I probably would've gone Voodoo if they'd had a standard flavor available, but they didn't, so I wound up with Golden Flake. I know that Golden Flake originated in Birmingham so I guess you gotta represent, but unfortunately I just don't really like the way their chips taste. I also ordered a cream cheese and guava pastelito for later. They forgot to bring it out with our meals but rectified it quickly when I went to ask about it before we left and gave me a to-go box with it. It was deliciously flaky and the guava was so yummy. I wished for a teeny bit more cream cheese but all in all it was a treat! Overall, a highly enjoyable experience here! I'd love to try some of the other "extras" like the empanadas and tamales, and of course I'd return for another sandwich too. :)

Cozy local Cuban sandwich shop with great value! Fair amount of space inside, and few tables outside if the weather's good. Went to pick up lunch on a Saturday around noon and there wrre a few customers, but it wasn't packed. Sandwiches took about 15 minutes to be ready. Staff were very friendly. Two sandwiches, the Elena Ruz and the Medianoche, are listed on their website but not described--see attached pictures for their in-house descriptions, and they both only come in large (8") size. Ordered a classic Cuban and an Elena Ruz (chose normal cream cheese and strawberry jam), both large, and two guava cream cheese pastelitos. All were very good, and made with high quality ingredients. Will certainly be back to try out more of the menu!

This business moved to Birmingham from Atlanta and it was really missed. They have the best Cuban sandwich anywhere! I wish the owner would sell franchises so others could enjoy them.

Great food and friendly staff! We got the black bean soup, a pork tamale, guava & cheese pastelitos, and two of the sandwiches for lunch. Everything was really good and the guava & cheese pastelitos (pastries) secured this spot as one of our favorite cuban places. I'm not even from the Birmingham area, but would go out of my way to come back here.

Went here for the first time. I was surprised by the sandwich. It just wasn’t what I expected. It was just giving deli meat… Galician soup was really good though and if you get the bowl, it’s enough for more than one person. Sweet tea was out but fountain drinks were really carbonated. Fast service. Tamale was dry, and I didn’t care for the pork inside. Little pork cubes. Cuban, tamale & soup 19.99 + drink 2.08 The online menu photos need updated. Prices have increased.
Opal H — Google review
A good Cuban sandwich is the absolute best sandwich you wil ever have. Good luck finding one in Alabama unfortunately so I was really looking forward to eating here. If you have never had a Cuban sandwich before, this will be a good experience for you. decent service, nice and clean, foods ok, the prices are not outlandish and plenty of tables. My only knock is they are kinda skimpy with the meat so upgrade if you can. If you have had a Cuban sandwich before you will be very disappointed. The bread is just plain wrong and the mojo pork has no mojo. They also wanted to put mayo on it which i fortunately caught. As stated earlier, pretty skimpy with the meat. I grew up in Florida, had em in Miami, had em in Ybor city where my Dad worked many, many, MANY times so I know from whence I speak. Your best bet in Alabama remains to go get one at Publix from the sandwich box, get them to butter brush it and then press it. Bread is perfect and there's some mojo in the pork.

Just your regular old Chick-Fil-A, but everytime I come in here, the employees are always so nice to me but the food is the best. Their new seasonal peppermint milkshake is a delight to see, even though I didn't get one myself, I had tried it at another location 📍. This location did get some improvements in their drive thru and inside and it looks much cleaner and better.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER from a Chick-fil-A restaurant! I ordered a Market Salad/fried chicken and a side of chicken nuggets. Unfortunately, the salad had a dead insect in it. Even sadder is that I had eaten almost half of the salad before I discovered the bug! Instantly, I felt sick and spit out the food that I was already chewing. I was no longer able to eat. I reported the incident to a manager. I couldn't return the salad right away because I was at work. When I returned it, I showed the bug to the manager. She offered a food replacement, which I declined and requested money be returned. I no longer had the gift card. After telling her this, she FINALLY 'found a way' to put the money on my debit card. Food poisoning symptoms came overnight - headache, fever, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. I am still having a hard time eating now because the image of that insect keeps replaying in my mind. So, I'm still suffering, psychologically. My advice at this point is: PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR SALADS!!! I decide to no longer aupport Chick-fil-A restaurants because their status have gone down tremendously...the food service isn't what it used to be. Before this incident, I had received bad coffee and cold/lukewarm food. Their quality of service sucks now...at this branch anyway!!! I wish I could post the pics of the dead insect in the salad!

My friend went to this Chick-fil-A location today and sent me these photos. She was about to start eating her sandwich when she noticed something odd in her lettuce. It turns out, it was stink bug eggs. Don't eat at this location, it's clear they dont wash their lettuce.

I visited this restaurant with my children while traveling. I was on a strange diet and the staff (namely Wesley) helped me navigate the menu, showing how add/subtract items to make my meal compliant. Instead of being frustrated that I had a lot of requests, Wesley listened to my needs and found a solution for me, resulting in a meal I could eat and also enjoy! This is Chick-fil-A at its best. This location was also doing a family night that night and my children got to make a craft which was a fun surprise.

Krispy Kreme is a well-established chain known for its wide range of donut flavors and shapes, along with offerings like coffee and frozen drinks. While the location in Birmingham, AL can get quite busy, the staff is praised for their politeness and efficiency despite long queues. This particular branch is one of only two in the greater Birmingham area, making it a popular spot. Customers often opt to go inside to avoid the lengthy drive-through line.
Great KK in Hoover. Fast service. Better doughnuts! You can see them making the doughnuts on the conveyor belt. Very cool.
Charlie C — Google review
First, I love Krispy Kreme. My family and I would always find a Krispy Kreme at the beach. They're the best. A few years ago, when we moved to the area and discovered that Hoover has a Krispy Kreme, we were excited! The first couple times we visited, the customer service was slow and at times, very lacking - you know where the guy has his ear buds in listening to music while working. So, we swore them off. We'll enjoy them when we are on vacation, but not here. Well, I was driving by Saturday around 10am, and the hot and fresh light was on. I couldn't resist. I stopped by to get a dozen for my family. When I entered the store, there were 4 customers ahead of me, but the donuts were hot on the line! I watched another customer come to the door, and open up her phone, and used the app to order her donuts. After 10 minutes of waiting, the first customer in line was finally gone - 10 minutes for 1 customer. The cashier then proceeded to fulfill the mobile order for the lady in the doorway instead of the folks who had been waiting in that line. Meanwhile, all the donuts hot and fresh donuts had been boxed up, the light was turned off, and they were cleaning the conveyer. I kept waiting. The service never improved. I wasn't going to wait 30 more minutes for cold donuts. I just walked out disappointed. I don't know why I gave this location another chance. They haven't improved in 4 years.
Joseph C — Google review
I belive this location has just recently reopened because it's been awhile since I've seen the hot sign on. It's also been awhile since I've last had hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts and it did not disappoint. Didn't take long to order and walk out with hot fresh doughnuts!
Christian P — Google review
Literally the worst run business I have ever seen. App orders are never pulled and ready at the time promised, terribly understaffed, and the quality of the donuts have gone downhill significantly.
JIM R — Google review
More "HOT AND ANGRY" than "hot and ready" at tonight's Hoover location. I was already a little disappointed because the selection was so limited, however, an hour before close, it's to be expected. I placed an online order. When we got to the speaker, the worked seemingly irate and impatient told us to pull around. With no greeting or any words at all, he handed us our food, hasitly closed the window, and walked away. He was extremely hostile and most definitely did not seem happy to be there. We don't live near a KK, so this is a rare treat for us. Working in food management myself, I would want to be aware if I had an employee with such an awful attitude working for me. He was a light skinned young man, 18-20, working around 10 p.m. on 10/11/25. I hope that you guys can find someone to better represent your long standing brand.
Autumn H — Google review
Donuts are good but there is ALWAYS something at this store. Always. I ordered a half dozen original glaze and 1 chocolate. Told one price by one young man and another one comes over and tells me a higher price by 1 dollar. The donuts are already expensive....what do you mean?! He tells me the other guy rung it up wrong. Come on! I had to wait 6 min. at the window for the donuts to be dropped...and then had to ask how ling because initially I was told its gonna be a minute. It turmed out to be longer than I thought. You literally could have kept the price as it was like it was because of my wait time. I said this and was met with the teenager looking awkward and no response. I was honest when asked if I already paid just be upcharged to an assortment fee with one donut changed for chocolate....and drumroll....I had to wait an additional 2 minutes on a receipt and napkins. Its either their attitude, laziness, stuff not working, or donuts not done, or in the case an upcharge and no accomodation to their customers. Even if the upcharge, you could have offered a milk or something... And they are gonna be extra small too.
Candice H — Google review
Today, I went to Krispy Kreme in Hoover and I must say this location has really stepped up its game. The donuts were hot and fresh. The guy at the drive thru was super nice and friendly! I will return again, hopefully I get the same results as I did today.

Nestled in the Southgate Shopping Center of Pelham, Tony's Hot Dogs has been a beloved staple since 1993, celebrating three decades of serving up classic Birmingham-style hot dogs. The menu features their signature grilled dog topped with mustard, onions, kraut, and sauce. For those looking to mix things up, options like the Beef Sauce Dog and unique creations such as taco dogs and Chicago dogs are available.
I’ve been here for breakfast and lunch now. Both were delicious. They open around 5:30am for breakfast and close at 3pm. One of the earliest freshly made meals in the area. A coworker suggested I come for the cheeseburger and the did not disappoint. A single patty was more than enough for me. Order at the counter then slide down and pay for your food. They will put it up on the call your name for you to pick up at counter to take to your table. Employees are very nice and the food comes quickly…even when it’s crowded. For sure a local favorite.

I used to stop by this place often, but I live and work in a different area now. I was excited to have an appointment in Pelham today so that I had a good reason to finally have breakfast here again. I recognized the same people working here that have been here for years, and the great food is as consistently awesome as the employees. Tony's has my favorite bacon, egg, and cheese (with hot sauce) sandwich, no contest. They cook to order, so you will get hot, fresh food every time.

Wow! We went during lunch rush and they definitely have a fantastic system in place to keep the line moving and practically no wait time! By the time we made it to the register our food was ready. Great bang for your buck pricing, hot, fresh food. Burger was HUGE & I definitely wasn’t expecting it. Will be here more often!

The place had a line out the door the entire time we were there, the line moves really fast but it never went away... We didn't spend about 5 minutes in line but they just go down the line take your order and by the time you pay for it you got it in your hands. The best hot dogs I've ever had

The epitome of an old "hole in the wall" place that makes great food people line up for. It's very clean inside so don't misunderstand my hole in the wall comment, it's just a bit like stepping back in time. It's very refreshing to eat here because I know I am going to get great food every single time. Some people don't want to pay for quality ingredients, some people aren't used to substantial quality food, but if you want a great breakfast or lunch, and aren't afraid of a little animal fat and meat, then this is definitely the place for you. I left you a picture of my bacon cheeseburger before I demolished it, just to give you an idea of what you can expect.
Brandon M — Google review
We heard about Tony’s from my Son & DIL, and we just had to go once the word “biscuit”was mentioned!! We only went for breakfast, but were delighted that the biscuit/egg/cheese/sausage lived up to our expectations. Can’t wait to go again, maybe even have a hot dog next time…
Jill S — Google review
A regular cheeseburger all the way. That include fresh tomatoes, lettuce, pickle, I skipped the onion. It must have been at least six ounces of beef perfectly grilled. Also ordered fries. They came out hot and perfectly salted. I'll definitely be back for more hamburgers and to try the hot dogs. Service was quick, staff was friendly. Not a very big place. I ate at the counter but be prepared to eat in your car if you get there at a busy time.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is a beloved fast-casual dining destination that specializes in fresh, customizable Mexican dishes. Guests can indulge in a variety of options, including burritos, tacos, bowls, and salads. What sets Chipotle apart is the ability to personalize each meal with an array of high-quality ingredients and both meat and vegetarian choices. Whether you're craving something hearty or light, Chipotle ensures every bite is packed with flavor and freshness!
Experience overall pretty good. Had a quick lunch after 330 and had to clean my own table to sit down. Staff was nice and portions were great. Only complaint was the dining area was not as clean. Store was not too busy.

I have been struggling with the carnivore diet and where to eat for my lunch hour. Found out real quick Chipotle is not the place to go. Double meat add guac heat and eat brisket runs a whopping $28. Didn't even fill half the bowl. The majority of that pile is green pepper. I don't even think it's real brisket. ☹️
Kenneth W — Google review
As someone who has been a longtime fan of Chipotle, I have to say the recent decline in portion sizes is disappointing. What used to be a reliably filling burrito bowl now feels more like a snack — and for the price, that’s frustrating. Over the past few visits, I’ve noticed less rice, and protein that barely covers the bottom of the bowl. Even when asking politely for a bit more, it's hit-or-miss depending on who's serving. For a brand that built its reputation on fresh, hearty portions, this feels like a step backward. I understand supply chain issues and inflation are real, but if the portions are going to shrink, the price should reflect that — or at the very least, be more transparent. Otherwise, loyal customers will start feeling shortchanged (literally and figuratively). Chipotle still delivers on flavor and customization, but it’s hard to enjoy the experience when you leave still hungry.
Michelle E — Google review
I ordered through doordash. The steak burrito had no steak in it until I had eaten about 85% of it. I also got chips with green salsa. The chips filled 10% of the bag and the tiny container of salsa was less than half full. I also got a side of chimichurri that was also less than half full and 90% oil. What a joke chipotle has become. This is not the food I fell in love with in California back in 2007.
Matt H — Google review
Let’s me begin by introducing my self I am a professional chipotle reviews I have visited over 100 chipotle and I know exactly what I’m looking for . I gave this place a 2 star because it’s not the cleanest and the food is extremely bland. The chicken is not even cooked all the way . Even the beans have no salt . So sad to have these customers eat in such a dirty place with such bland food . Management please change this . Oh some of the employees are also not the friendliest.
Jose C — Google review
Now you can go many places but I stoped here to enjoy something to eat after a long hard day of work. Coming in yes I was greeted. But the service after I received my food was horrible. The apprentice is really rude and you can really see and tell she doesn’t like her job. This is my second interaction with this manager in both encounters wasn’t pleasant guys if we’re gonna get jobs let’s make sure we like what we do because you never know what one day is going like or the type of mood your customers are in when entering your establishment if you can’t do that Simply just work somewhere else. I think her name was Alayah and for now on I will steer clear from this location and spend my hard earned money somewhere else.
Keundre W — Google review
Probably one of the worst Chipotle locations in the area. We usually avoid this one ever since we were served undercooked, hard rice. Gave it another shot today — while the food was decent this time, the service was seriously lacking. No smiles, no courtesy, just an overall cold and unwelcoming experience.
Diego V — Google review
Okay, I admit I favor mexican food over every other food (except asian food) but they have rice so that makes me happy, an Asian always needs rice in their life. Service: Well, I mean I entered and the employees were shouting and yelling at some customers, about what you expected but I don't care about the service as long as they're nice and polite to me. Atmosphere: Pretty underwhelming, bags and napkins on the floor and tables, I don't see why people can't clean up after themselves, the trash is full so I understand but at least I want a table that is clean, also the straws and lids area next to the drink machine is filthy, do better. Food: I slept on their food, it's about the same level as Moe's Southwest Grill but I have yet to do a direct comparison between the two, by that I mean looking at both, taste test and seeing which one I like better, but well done. Just got an ordinary burrito bowl with chicken as my protein, pinto beans, white rice, veggies, spicy salsa, under 10 bucks, take it or leave it. You might as well order on the app since they prioritize online orders and a bonus, they're open till 11 pm unlike other chipotles.

Chick-fil-A is a beloved fast-food chain renowned for its mouthwatering chicken sandwiches and nuggets, complemented by a variety of salads and sides. When you step into one of their locations, you're greeted with friendly service that enhances the overall dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for everyone to enjoy a meal together. While some diners have noted that the seating can get crowded during peak hours, the efficiency of the staff ensures that your food arrives quickly without compromising quality.
I live in pleasant groove but the customer service in Hoover makes me bypass all the other restaurants. The food is always awesome but they have a worker name Christopher that literally makes my day. LaNIna is also nice because she keeps that line moving.

Earlier there was a mishap with my order, but Veronica and her fellow team members solved the issue within minutes, apologizing and taking action to correct the problem. I found it so awesome that Veronica handled this with such class. She was kind, charismatic and had a beautiful smile. She would do wonderfully in public relations one day. Give her a raise!

I love this location! Gwen is always serving me on the drive thru line and always has the most pleasant attitude and seems like it's truly her pleasure to help me. I always look to see what lane she's in so I can go in that one! She's a great employee and love her customer service

This location went above and beyond for us this morning. Our toddler wanted fries and we ordered them for her, not realizing it was still only 10:15 (had been on the road since 4:00 this morning). The staff cooked fries for us anyway! Fantastic customer service!

The food is great, but I really don’t like how bad the delivery has become. I also don’t like that they’ve stopped properly sealing the drink lids. Never use the Chick-fil-A app for delivery. Today, I placed an order and saw the Chick-fil-A driver put my drink under her armpit while opening the front gate of my house. That was absolutely disgusting. I ended up throwing the drink away. It was a complete waste. I no longer trust ordering drinks through the app or delivery. I’ve loved Chick-fil-A since I was a kid, but lately the service has been really disappointing.

Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is a retro-themed eatery that specializes in classic fast-food favorites like steakburgers, hot dogs, and chicken tenders. It has a vintage-style ambiance that takes customers back in time. The establishment is well-known for its freshly prepared and piping-hot meals, which are served with great care and efficiency. Visitors can expect excellent service from Freddy's staff.
I just had my first experience at Freddy's. I brought my son here today for his 16th birthday it was his choice so I tried it. I met the cashier Daniel and told him this is our first time eating there and I want a good Freddy's experience. We'll needless to say, Jace over heard us and gave us 5 star treatment. Daniel and Jace were awesome. We enjoyed the entire experience and we will be back.

We went through the drive through and got our food to take back to our hotel. When we got back to the hotel and pulled everything out, we did not get anything we ordered. We got 3 hamburgers that were thrown together and the fries were not even warm. We paid $40 for meals that we barely even ate.
Tiffany B — Google review
Food was hot and fresh, service was fine even though there was only 3 staff members at 1130a on a Thursday... The atmosphere is like any other fast food restaurant. My complaint is the slippery floors... From the time you walked in front door to counter to drink center to seats to bathroom to garbage cans and put the door there was not a spot that was not slipping and sliding and not from wet floors.. every customer who came in while we were there had the same experience with floors and one pregnant lady and couple of kids almost fell... Urge them to resolve problem quickly!
Richard D — Google review
Filthy place!!! Old food lying everywhere on the floors and on customer pick up counter. Every table in the dining area nasty and needed to be wipe down. Floors so slick with water and grease they had to put out signs to warn people instead of using a mop. Found the nasty garbage can sitting inside the sink in the Men’s bathroom which was supposed to be locked inside the wall guessing an employee forgot to put it back. Almost forgot the ice cream was not frozen well. Even got to witness a person in the drive through window refuse the runny ice cream and demanded a refunded. Unbelievable!!!! Would love a response from Management on why the restaurant was in such filthy condition? Maybe 5 people inside the place during our visit so it’s not from the staff being overwhelmed.
JJCAVER — Google review
I hate to admit it, but the burgers here are better than Culver's across the way. And I say that as a fan of that chain's food. Even the cheese curds here are a bit better, thanks to a flatter breading that is not quite as rough as Culver's. The fries are shoestring and lightly seasoned. The fry sauce is rather bland, but the jalapeno version has some bite, thankfully. The hot dog and chili fries weren't bad, either, but I don't think I'd make a special trip here for either of them. Sweet tea was pretty bad. Service was pretty good. Inside it's quite loud and echo-y so every toddler in there is screaming just to hear their voices. Ugh. Overall, not a bad burger place. The menu is small but they seem to do the few things they have well. I didn't get to try the custard but a family member had a shake and said it also beat Culver's for flavor, so there's that.
Zach R — Google review
This location has unfortunately become known for its long wait times. During my recent visit, I was told there was a 45-minute wait for food inside, even though the drive-thru, while moving slowly, wasn’t overly backed up. The dining room was full, so I asked if there were any issues in the kitchen but didn’t receive a clear answer—just that the wait was long. That suggests a possible staffing or operational problem. What makes this more concerning is that a Chick-fil-A is located right next door—a brand known for its speed, organization, and consistent service, even during rush periods. With such a clear example of efficient fast food operations so close by, this location really should consider reevaluating how it handles peak volume. I don’t normally complain about occasional mistakes—it’s fast food, and those things happen. But long delays like this make the “fast” in fast food feel misleading. Even many sit-down restaurants don’t have 45-minute waits. If delays like this are becoming the norm, it’s time to look seriously at staffing levels and order flow management.
Collin S — Google review
I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough to warrant one. The cleanliness of the place was seriously lacking — the floors were so dirty they were actually slippery, and trash was overflowing from nearly every can. All the tables were filthy, and when I politely asked for a rag to clean one myself, I was essentially ignored. To top it off, our orders were wrong, which only added to the frustration. It felt like cleanliness and customer service just weren’t priorities at all. I hope this feedback encourages some much-needed improvements.

Zaxby's Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings is a popular fast-food chain that specializes in serving fried chicken fingers, wings, sandwiches, and other classic American comfort food. I went through the drive thru and ordered egg rolls and chicken fingers. They asked me to pull up, which I did…15 minutes later still no food. I went inside and there was only the drive through lady working and a guy cooking in the back. Poor cashier was overwhelmed, she came to counter to take an order from 3 customers and I didn’t have time to wait any longer and left without ever getting my food. Sent a complaint in on website but have yet to hear back. Doubt I will; appears that management is not on the ball.

Dined in & Asked for the new Asian shrimp zalad because I saw it on the commercials & ordered a medium drink. They gave me a salad with chicken on it. They said I should have asked for shrimp. It’s ADVERTISED with shrimp not chicken and they would not fix it at all. The restaurant was empty and the manager had an attitude. Waste of $14, (with drink) not coming back and deleting this app I don’t have to pay that much for a salad when I can make at home. Zaxbys has gone down over the years anyways might as well go to Chick fil A, they would’ve fixed it no problem & the service is better there.

So this place has just gotten worse over time. Ordered a blue zalad and asked for no tomato extra fried onions and extra blue cheese...apparently that ment no everything and only blue cheese and fried onion which means I paid extra for having things taken off my zalad. Toast was stale, fried white cheddar bites tasted like they had been sitting out for a while and my husband's kickin chicken sandwich was so sloppily put together it just fell apart. Honestly I don't really know what else to say but...Do Better!

They didn't call out my name for my order for about 10 minutes. I saw it sitting on the counter, but didn't know it was mine. Other people who ordered after me had their name called and got their food well before me. Good food, but service was subpar for Zaxbys.

Culver's is a fast-food chain known for its frozen custard and unique burgers crafted with Midwest beef and dairy. This restaurant has gained popularity after establishing itself in Wisconsin, prompting customers to try it elsewhere, like Hoover. While dining in November was satisfactory, the experience improved significantly when choosing to dine in again during January. Orders were promptly prepared, highlighting the efficiency of their service.
Very good Sour Dough Patty Melt. The patty is thin like a smash burger so I recommend the double but was advised they even offer a triple. My son had the chicken sandwich which he seemed to enjoy. There were plenty of people working. All seemed professional and friendly. The Culver’s branded root beer was excellent as well. Give this place a try and please like this review.

Love Culver's and always stop in every state I can find one being a Wisconsin native and the brand is from there. Food and service were great. Only thing not great was bathroom was out of paper towels and the dining room was out of napkins. I did notify the staff. But didn't hang around to verify.

I had been been looking to eating at this restaurant for quiet some time, so I decided to try. They were out of the Cranberry Bacon Bleu Salad, therefore, I got the Chicken Cashew salad insteadand it wasn't what I was expecting at all. I was starving and I wanted to love it so badly, and not to say that their food isn't good, but this particular Chicken Cashew salad just wasn't for me. Also, I ordered a sweet tea and for me it had like this powdery texture and taste a little bitter like the last "from the bottom of the barrel," kind of experience. I immediately looked at it and asked the male cashier about the taste. He assured me that they make fresh tea everyday (🤔 Ik that), and continued to smile and just look at me, instead of offering another option. My sisters tried their burgers and chicken sandwiches before and they LOVE it... I should've went with my first mind. So, I guess the next time, I'll try one of the burgers or a chicken sandwich, and a Sprite instead. Every restaurant has a bad day, and that day, 09/19/2025, was Culver's bad day. I'll try them again since my sisters love them, the reviews are pretty good, and the young male cashier was still really nice as well.

A group of friends and I where coming back from a long weekend get away and stopped in the Hoover Al location. We have never had Culver's 1st off service was great friendly staff answering all of our questions. Very clean and the manger Tony was wonderful. He brought our food out spoke to use told me about the restaurant lots of knowledge. And just really likes his job and took pride in his crew. Most definitely will return next time we are in that area.

Straight from Wisconsin (haven't been there unfortunately yet but will plan on doing so) It's almost strikingly similar to Freddy's Steakburgers and Frozen Custard but with a seafood twist. They have onion rings, fries with chili on top, a freakin corn dog which is surprising, I mean they sell almost about anything. Menu Options: There is so much to choose from, the custard is like a delicious and more flavorful version of a milkshake but their own style because they make it for you and just the way you like it. The varieties of different toppings and flavors make it more appealing to customers. Instead of steakburgers, it is butterburgers and it's good I'll tell you that! Amenities: Almost like a family restaurant, plenty of seating inside and there is outdoor seating too for those looking to enjoy the sun. Restrooms at your own convenience and there is free water when you ask the staff for a cup of water, isn't that neat?! Comments: I mean come on there was a bunch of people inside and in the drive-thru, that probably is the reason why there are so few Culver's in the state, you must try this when in Hoover or near. I guarantee you won't regret it 👍.
Dylan — Google review
After my wife tried this restaurant in Wisconsin we decided to try it here in Hoover. Once in November which was to go and again in January where we decided to dine in. It was definitely better dining in rather than taking it home and our order came out quickly. The burgers are good and check your receipt as each time what we asked for was not on our burgers. The onion rings are very good and so are the cheese curds. Definitely want to try one of their shakes in the future. I can see why the drive through has been wrapped around the building on occasion. A great family place.

We have eaten in and taken out and had a good experience with both. They make the pizzas to order so it will take a little time to get it to your table but the food is worth the wait. It is also convenient to the movie theater if you want to fill the kids up to try and avoid the concessions at the theater. I gave it a four because it feels more like a chain than a mom and pop restaurant and I would like for it to feel less like a chain store.

Sneaky Pete's Hotdogs is a delightful hot dog chain that stands out for its unique signature sauce and a menu that extends to breakfast options and comforting favorites. Located in Birmingham, AL, this spot boasts an inviting atmosphere with spacious seating and immaculate cleanliness. Guests are greeted warmly by friendly staff who provide prompt service, ensuring your order is prepared quickly. Regulars rave about the delicious breakfast offerings, like the smoked sausage biscuit paired with a breakfast dog meal.
An american classic, simple menu, easy to order, all you do is just head inside and tell them if you want to-go or dine in. They have a variety of different foods including burritos, biscuits, and hotdogs in the morning and then burgers, chili cheese fries, and more for lunch. It's no wonder this is a popular spot to go to in Alabama. 📍 Miscellaneous: Open at 7 am and close at 5 pm on Monday thru Friday, on Saturday, they close at 4 pm and they are closed on Sunday, pretty reasonable hours, parking is easily accessible to the public, just make sure to look both ways before crossing. 😅 Service/Food: Excellent, fast, efficiently well-made, you order your food, get a drink, then they'll call out your number but it gets done so quick depending on what you order, there is a great number of employees here and you should appreciate them as much as they appreciate you. Amenities: Drink machine includes fan favorites like Coca-Cola, Sprite, Water, and more, they have a restroom to use in the back and they also have a TV to watch if you're bored, I see there are many pictures of other customers that have enjoyed Sneaky Pete's, you might be the next one. 👍 The food listed in the picture is the Ultimate Double Cheeseburger and regular fries but the #11 combo is also good!

Bare bones lunch counter with a bit of retro charm. Busy, but not packed at lunchtime on a Saturday. Staff was friendly, and order was ready fairly quickly. Ordered the Original dog, Junkyard dog, cheese fries, fried chicken combo (were out of grilled chicken), and apple pie. Dogs were okay, but toppings were not as flavorful as I hoped. Cheese fries and apple pie were great, though, and fried chicken sandwich was solid.

Whether you're in the mood for chicken tenders, a classic chicken biscuit, or a hearty family meal, Bojangles has something for everyone. While some customers have expressed disappointment with certain aspects of their experience, many others rave about the delicious food offered at this establishment.
I’m from Texas. We tried this place just for grins and giggles. That resulted in us eating at several different locations. We loved it. The Blueberry Sausage Biscuit sounded so strange, we had to order it. It was great. I was totally surprised. The real winner was the Chicken Hot Dog. It’s a good price for a tasty chicken strip in a bun. I wish they sold the sauce by the bottle.

The food was good but the service at this Bojangles needs a lot of work. To many employees talking about everything and not doing their jobs. And they weren't very busy at all.

Wasted over $49.00 on a tailgate family meal. See pics and video. I ended up having to make my 2 littles spaghetti because the 12 "Supreme tenders" were so hard they couldn't eat it. (They also broke tenders in half to make 12 ) They gave less than half of the container of Mac and cheese and when I tell you 1/4 of the container of gravy for the mash. (Just enough for 1 person) The only thing that was good was the biscuits. We are so disappointed. I threw out more food than was eaten. If you have a problem don't bother to call because the line just beeps like it's off the hook or busy. Very disappointed. The drive thru employee was pleasant and they did give napkins and utensils.

Very slow. Ordered 2 pieces of country ham light cooked and a side of folded egg and they pulled me to wait! After I sit at the window for 5 mins. The person working the window spoke very little in fact only said 908 with no thank you no nothing and then just held out my bottle water. Then one came over and adm me to pull around and they would bring it out! REALLY??? Bad service model for sure!!!! Guy cam out never spoke a word and handed me a bog of the wrong order! Now I'm back in line at the window to get it corrected! Looking at the receipt they even rang up the wrong items ha no wonder my food was wrong! Hire done friendly people here that know how to do the job correctly and have some care as obviously these people do not care!

I stopped at the Hoover location after work to grab some quick breakfast, instead of ordering elsewhere on Doordash. Big mistake! I placed a curbside order and after no one came to the car for roughly 13 minutes I drove to the drive-thru. At the speaker I was told Yes, your order has been ready for awhile, drive around. Awhile? Really… Since when is curbside and Drive-thru pick-up the same thing? After receiving my order and driving home I realized that I was not given the two iced Bo-berry biscuits that I paid for. The box contained one iced Bo-berry biscuit and one regular biscuit. What a waste of time and money. I won’t order on the mobile app or visit this location again. A very mediocre Bojangles to say the least. Also, my biscuits were hard and my bo-round was not hot and fresh at 8:15 in the morning.

I have to say I was slightly disappointed with my visit to Bojangles this evening. The chicken didn't seem to be very fresh. It wasnt cold by any means, just kinda seemed like it had been sitting for a while. The biscuit was delicious however. Crispy and buttery on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The coleslaw and green beans were very tasty as well. I hope this was just a one off situation because I do enjoy Bojangles. I will be back hopefully for a better experience.

Stopped in about 8:30 pm on 04/03/25; it seemed that only one person was working, "Becca". She was busy cleaning and multi-tasking as I approached the counter to order, but she greeted me with a warm sincerity, & seemed eager to prepare my food. We exchanged pleasantries as I gave her the specifics for my sandwich, and she was very cordial in asking about how my day had been, and just had an overall great attitude. I apologized for coming in so late as I could tell she had been in the midst of closing duties, and I asked her about her day/week; I was shocked to learn that her father had passed away very recently! Her smile and attitude was so warm as she was preparing my food, I found it amazing that she was not mired in depression, much less working on a school night at 8:30 pm! My sandwich was ready *freaky fast* and prepared just as I had asked, and I grabbed a cookie and a bag of chips to go along with my late dinner. I told Becca I was truly sorry for her loss! Mere words cannot ever reach the depths of someone's grief over losing a parent (or any loved one) so young, and I was not only amazed at her incredible attitude, but I was really at a loss over what to say to someone you've just met when learning about such a devastating loss. I say all of this to make a point: Becca's warmth and sincerity to greet customers and perform her work so flawlessly and with such an amazing attitude is certainly a testament as to what kind of person she is, and Becca is an obvious asset to this Jimmy John's location, as she would be to anyone that employed her. I hope staff and management recognize what a gem that Becca is. *post-script*.... my food was delicious and PERFECT.

It's easier to like the food when it's prepared the way you ask; Stopped in Tuesday evening on 03/04/25, and *Abigail* was a total tool. She appeared aggravated that she had to stop what she was doing and wait on me. Not sure if anyone aside from her was working, she was the only one I saw. I ordered two sandwiches, and I understand that I should have checked them prior to leaving but heck, it wasn't like she was BUSY.... I was the only person in the store; anyway after getting home, BOTH sandwiches were incorrect. One had things I asked to NOT have on the sandwiches, and the other one was MISSING the specifics I asked for, as if she was dyslexic or it was done intentionally.....Abigail also acted exasperated when I pulled out cash to pay for my food instead of using a card; THEN when I asked for a bag for my sandwiches she pointed to the end of the counter and said "self-service if you need a bag"...... well,YEAH...... I just spent $31 on 2 sandwiches, 2 chips, and 2 cookies.....Abigail is NOT an asset to this location, but she IS an @SS.....and certainly could use some remedial attitude training and adjustment; or here's a thought....if she does not like her job, then perhaps she should find work that doesn't involve contact with the public.

I was very disappointed with my sandwich and my service. This was my first time ordering on line and my last. I had more bread, lettuce, and four tiny tomatoes. When I enter the store a guy spoke and didn’t offer to take my order. He was focused on rolling dough and less trying to serve me. If you would like your money’s worth go to Jersey Mikes.

There is a reason I have not been to Jimmy johns in years and today unfortunately I found out went in there today and ordered to subs for me and my gf and let me just say I'll never go in there again there was more bread cheese then anything and I got charged for the cheese witch no one in that store told me I would be charged for it what so ever and only 1 and maybe a half peace of turkey is un real they were better off making a grilled cheese with what was on it and 25 dollar's for that today was horrible I won't ever go back into this Jimmy johns pr any of them ever again scams
Darian R — Google review
They removed so many condiments since I last came here. I ask for a sub and it takes 20+ minutes to make it. On top of that, they don't call my name once its made. I had no idea my order was called and the person at the front claimed that they did call my name even though they didnt. That was the last time i go to Jimmy johns.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is a casual dining spot that specializes in delicious Mexican cuisine, allowing guests to customize their own burritos, tacos, and bowls. Many visitors have noted the cleanliness of this particular location, which sets it apart from others. The staff here are friendly and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere for diners. Patrons often rave about the quality of food served at Chipotle; meals are prepared with care and freshness is evident in every bite.
This was my first time ever eating at chipotle the workers were very nice answering any questions i had prepared my food with care. The portions size was way more than i expected i ate off that bowl for 2 days the food was very good and everything tasted fresh

This Chipotle was very good. The restaurant was noticeably cleaner than most other locations I’ve visited, and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was served warm—which, as a longtime Chipotle fan, I can say isn’t always the case—and that made the meal stand out. It’s definitely a step up from the Tuscaloosa location. Overall, an easy four out of five stars
David H — Google review
Every time we decide to pick up food from Chipotle on Amber Dr Hoover,AL they are out of nearly all their food. It doesn’t matter what time we go, the wait is longer than it should be. Last night was even worse than normal as far as the wait time was concerned. It took 25 minutes to get 2 bowls of food. There are always excuses as to why enough food isn’t cooked. There were 4 employees up front and only one was working on serving. The other guys were just standing there visiting. The host yelled at me when I calmly suggested others needed to be plating the food. The only remedy to this clown show is to stay away from it.
Jami K — Google review
This place is an absolute disaster. I don’t know what kind of clown show management is running this location. The staff couldn’t care less. Zero professionalism, no urgency, and no clue what they’re doing. Waited over 30min for a take out order. No apology, no sense of urgency — just blank stares and attitude. To top it off, the place was disgusting. Tables covered in trash, sticky floors, overflowing trash cans — and not a single employee doing anything about it. It felt more like a neglected gas station than a restaurant. Chipotle should be embarrassed. This location is a joke, and whoever’s running it clearly stopped giving a damn a long time ago. Save your money, your time, and your sanity — go literally anywhere else.
Su B — Google review
I was not very happy with my visit. The food was not up to par and it was very unclean to me. I ordered burrito bowls, the rice was clumped and the taste wasn’t consistent throughout. I wanted to the tomato salsa and was told there wasn’t any… in the entire restaurant. I think the only thing clean was the employees hands, they had on gloves. Somebody went to wipe the counter down, used a paper towel, just wrong. Food all over the counter, smudged food handprints all over the container. Food stuck to the bottom of the bowls. Will not return.
Endeavor M — Google review
9/14/25 approx 1:58pm walked into this location and I’m very much disappointed because this is my go to location. As I was approaching the counter I could see one of the employees near the window area picking with her nose. She then rubbed it, whether snot or boogers, on her pants. She grabbed a brown napkin and wiped her nose. Once she saw me at the counter area to order she grabbed a set of gloves and came over to take my order. I changed my mind and walked out. To be picking with your nose and not wash your hands is absolutely disgusting. She put the gloves on like the germs from her hands didn’t touch the outside of the gloves which would be touching the utensils and the container my food would be in. Please train your employees on proper hand washing procedures. Do better!

I have had to accept that they will always be out of food items. Ridiculous but that is how it is apparently. That is not the reason for this post. Yesterday at about 5:20 my wife and I were attempting to place and get an order in person. We arrived at 5:00 pm to get ahead of folks who were just getting off of work. There were only 2 people ahead of us. It was apparently a bogo night as the two people were ordering 10+ meals each. Ok we can accept that. What we had trouble accepting was that they had one person who was obviously a trainee who was doing the prep on these large multiple orders for the salsa, sauces, cheese lettuce and sour cream. They were slow. There about 8 employees in the store. None of them made any attempt to help or speed the process up. My wife after watching about 20 minutes of this said why don't some of y'all help. at that point an employee named Jhony proceeded to start yelling at her that there were customers in line ahead of us. That was the whole point. The line was backing up. No one was going through the drive so those employees were doing nothing. about 4 more employees were standing around with their thumbs where the sun doesn't shine. I can accept that this store generally has poor attitude low service employees. What I can't accept is someone yelling at my wife when they are not even giving a minimal effort to service their orders. At the time I said nothing. My wife was of course upset with Jhony yelling at her and went to the car. I went to the car and got her instructions as to the toppings she wanted on her meat when they would finally get to us. I completed the ordering process and got our food at the register at 5:33 PM. 30 minutes for what should take 5. The large orders ahead of us should probably have been partially shifted to the completely unbusy drive through line but I'm sure there is a corporate policy against that. Ask any cancer or terminal patient what the most important commodity in the world is and they quite likely will say time. This store totally doesn't care about the customers time. Apparently, they also DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMERS AT ALL SINCE THEY CAN YELL AT US WITH IMPUNITY. Nothing was said to Jhony about raising his voice to my wife by the manager who was on duty or any of the other staff. I up until checking out had said nothing about the yelling. Jhony was ringing me up and said something about they were working on changing pricing in the register when the has left the one trainee to handle these large orders. He should not have said anything to me. I asked for his name which he gave me. I then decided to give him a dose of his own medicine and yelled at him to never raise his voice to my wife or anyone's wife again. I added that you apparently don't know how to apologize either. I pointed my finger at him and again said don't ever raise your voice to my wife again. He made no attempt to apologize so I told him I would file a complaint with the corporate office and would be sure to use his name. Order #246 9/15/2025. He obviously didn't care. I called 1-800-chipotle and after some bouncing through their phone tree I finally got a customer service agent who spoke partial but understandable English. I am pretty sure they were on an island or another continent. I am not xenophobic but a corporation that sends customers who are upset to someone who is hard to understand just screams WE DON'T CARE. She gave me her scripted B/S and I answered her questions. The most she would say is they would investigate. She did say sorry for the inconvenience which is of course a scripted customer service response. The point is the agent of Chipotle insulted us by yelling at us. Bottom line is Jhony should not have yelled at us period. His manager who was present should have taken control of the situation. The only reason they got 1 star from me is because I can't give less. After several years of dealing with them I conclude that Chipotle actually DISDAINS ITS CUSTOMERS.

Sean, Bri, Zon, and Argo are a great asset to this company. Ever since they have been managing, this Chipotle has been running like a well oiled machine. The food quality is always superb and I am greeted with a warm welcome every time I walk in. This is the only chipotle in town that I go to.

Diner
Waffle House is a beloved American diner chain known for its all-day breakfast and signature waffles. Whether you're stopping by on a busy Saturday morning or late at night, the atmosphere is always lively. While you might encounter some wait times, the friendly staff—like Dixie and Grace—are dedicated to ensuring your experience is enjoyable. Even during peak hours, they manage to keep things running smoothly, serving up delicious meals that hit the spot.
Not sure how many different ways I can say that I love Waffle House. Not the cleanest. Bunch of loud teenage turds in there at 12 on a Sunday night, but the service was great and food is always amazing. This one is actually open 24 hours unlike some of the others in the area.

The waffles were delicious like usual, however, our waitress had an attitude and it was obvious she didn't want to be here. She was on her phone a lot and was annoyed everytime we asked for something. I couldn't see her name so I snapped her photo.
Sara B — Google review
Wait time on a Saturday morning was about 2-3 minutes. Our server Dixie was a sweetheart and a gem, and she was very observant with anything we needed. The food took a little time to come out, but not something that was a terrible inconvenience. The booths were a little too small for our party of six, as well as being close to the bathroom door. I brought a chair from against the window and sat at the head of the table, which made the seating more comfortable for us. Finally, the food was hot and delicious, and I tore through that food like there was no tomorrow. If I could have, I would've ordered another plate, but our plans, and probably my stomach, wouldn't allow for it. The location was at the top of a roadside hill, which made for nice pictures afterwards. We'll absolutely visit this location next time we're in the area!

Went there with a group of about 20. There were two ladies running the place. Food was served quickly and was fresh, tasty. The ladies made us feel welcome, we had a great time. Recommended!

I loved the food and service from the guy who was helping us. Genuinely the sweetest man but the cook he was working with was so rude. Kept cussing our server out in front of us and being so unbelievably mean. Our waiter wasn’t doing anything bad, I understand it being late and being stressed but to treat a coworker like that is so unnecessary. I hate seeing people in workplaces being treated so poorly by coworkers when they are trying their best.

We visit Waffle Houses a couple of times a month during travel ball season. We visited today after we had a night away from the kids. The store was busy and there wasn’t any music playing hence the 4 stars. The servers seemed stressed. We had a new server, Grace, but she was doing an amazing job! She was handling all the counter business as well as the to go orders. She apologized for the wait and informed us she was still a little new. The cooks were amazing too!

Forgot to give us our drinks, turned around to get the drinks. Upon getting home, and opening up our food the add ons we paid for was not there. I normally don't post reviews or negatively review places, but this is the second time in a row this place has sorely disappointed.
