Nestled in the scenic Haliburton Highlands, Rhubarb Restaurant stands out as a culinary gem that truly embodies the essence of local dining. As the only Feast On certified establishment in the area, it prides itself on crafting an exquisite menu using fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from Ontario's farmers and artisans. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared in-house by Chef Christoph Carl and his talented team, ensuring a delightful experience with every visit.
Beautiful birthday meal...first time, won't be the last. Poutine with duck...massive. a must for sharing Escargot... flavourful, not drowning in butter! Pork schnitzel w mushroom...yummy! Bison tenderloin with gorgonzola. Service was great. Can't wait to go back.

I enjoyed the location, ambiance and the food. I actually wasn't expecting much since I usually have quite poor experience when visiting restaurant in small towns but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was expertly fried with light crispy exterior and the fish itself was to a perfect doness. Good portion of fries with salad and vinegar based coleslaw (my preference over mayo). Will stop by again if we're in the area.

Great foods, service and atmosphere 💯💯💯 I highly recommend the daily dinner menu because both of the starters, main dishes and desserts my husband and I had ordered was so delicious 😋 The server was very helpful and the host was very nice and brought my toddler paper and markers to keep him busy ☺️ We were able to make a reservation on Saturday afternoon for the late evening which was 2 of their remaining tables. They were fully booked that they couldn’t accept walk-in. You should reserve online in advance.

Always a fun experience. Great food. Good drink selection and lovely views across the lake

Great ambience. A great dining spot where you can carry on a conversation. Ingredients are fresh and top tier. Excellent job from the bar with the drinks. Execution on some basic aspects were a disappointment. Oysters were not shucked properly. You need to detach the oysters from the shell! Steak dinner that didn't come with a steak knife, despite the follow-ups. We asked for mayo, we got aioli sauce instead.

Excellent Sunday night dinner! I had Seafood Wild Rice Soup for my appetizer, Chanetecler Chicken Breast for my main and Chocolate Brownie Flan for dessert. My husband had the Carrot Cake (it was the only course of his meal I remembered to photograph). Everything was delicious. We ate on the screened in porch in mid June. It was lovely and Lindsey, our server, was excellent.

Chef Chris is The King of schnitzel and homemade mushroom sauce! The escargot appetizer dazzled my senses! Finished my unparalleled experience with the pecan rum cake and a scoop of gelato ice cream. Wow! Hold me back!

Nestled in the heart of Haliburton, Maple Avenue Tap & Grill is a delightful family-friendly restaurant that promises to satisfy every palate. With an extensive menu featuring beloved classics like burgers and BBQ ribs alongside enticing Asian dishes such as pad thai and stir fry, there's something for everyone at any time of day. This local gem has become a favorite among both residents and visitors alike, thanks to its diverse offerings.
Delicious and juicy burger. The servings are huge. It will really fill you up. The fish and chips is just okay. Fish tasted like it was raw and not cooked so I did not really enjoy it that much. One piece of fish is also huge that you’ll enjoy it and be filled. Overall, I think everything is great from the service, to the friendly atmosphere and restaurant vibe. Worth visiting if you’re in the Haliburton area.
Cj — Google review
Maple Avenue Pub is hands-down one of the best spots in Haliburton. Right on the main street, it’s got that perfect mix of being relaxed and welcoming but still seriously delivering on food. We had the trout—unreal. Super fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The vegetarian linguine surprised me in the best way—so much depth and richness, not something you usually find in a meat-free pasta dish. And the bacon crispy chicken sandwich? Absolutely nailed it. Crunchy, juicy, smoky—just a ridiculously good sandwich. It’s also a great place if you’ve got kids. Family-friendly without feeling like a “kid restaurant,” and still fun if you’re just out with friends. What really stood out, though, is how they’re adding quality rather than cutting corners like a lot of places seem to be doing lately. You can tell everything is made with real, fresh ingredients and care. Definitely one of those rare places that gets it all right—great food, great vibe, and not trying to cut costs at the expense of quality. Can’t recommend it enough.

Breakfast was nicely prepared - hot and flavourful. Service was awkward and unwelcoming. I wish I had a more helpful way to describe it, but the server seemed disinterested and impatient during ordering - inconvenienced when we asked for water. We ate there twice during our visit to the region because the breakfast appeared to be better than other options in the vicinity. Despite the service, I would still recommend going for brekkie - real potatoes and generous portions.
Will D — Google review
My partner and I had 2 amazing meals here. She ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and Caesar salad. And I had a plain hamburger and onion rings. They were both homemade, hot and absolutely delicious. The service was very quick and very friendly, and I would highly recommend this place. A+.

30 minutes to order with about 20 customers and 2 servers. 15 minutes to get our drinks. 1 hour to get our nachos. Nachos were just ok. Nice little patio in front. Not a lot of options in the area. If your not in a rush it's good. If your in a rush go elsewhere.
Sean S — Google review
Great service, and sandwiches and burgers looked great, however, I asked the server what are they known for and she recommended a cashew Thai noodle dish. Taking her suggestion I ordered the Thai dish and my hunnie ordered the Ruben. The Thai dish was a disaster and truly tasted like it came out of a frozen food package and heated up in the microwave. Underwhelming to say the least. As a professional chef this is not a recommend dish.
Fanoula — Google review
The food was so good! I got fish tacos that were super delicious. The waitress was sweet and attentive during my meal, making sure I had everything I needed and was enjoying my food and experience. I would highly recommend stopping in for some food and a drink if you're in town.
Chelsea H — Google review
First time here since new ownership and very disappointed. We had eggs bennie which was tasteless. The potatoes were not cooked through and the hollandaise sauce tasted bland. Not sure if they make it from scratch like the previous owner did but it was not great. Tasted like packaged sauce. The waitress was friendly but not attentive. We had to ask for a 2nd coffee when our meal came (not offered a refill)and did not get it until we were finished. Waitress said they had to put another pot on. They should have had a 2nd pot on...it was not busy...1 other couple inside and one outside on patio. The quality of the food was not there or the service. Nothing like when the previous owner Andy ran it. Probably will not be back.

McKeck's-Tap and Grill is a long-standing establishment that has been serving classic Canadian dishes, brews, and cocktails for over 30 years. Founded in 1986 by former Toronto Maple Leaf player Walt Mckechnie, this cozy pub-style restaurant offers traditional pub fare alongside creative twists on beloved classics.
Incredible dining experience!! My family worked with Chef Aaron Walker to plan a beautiful, intimate dinner party to celebrate my Mom's 60th Birthday. He helped us to choose two entrée options fornour guests, provided us with a private dining room, and the serving staff offered impeccable service. What a memorable evening- thanks so much for everything!!
Sarah M — Google review
We have been coming to McKeck’s for several years and have never been disappointed. It has a rustic, cottagy, pubby, northern Ontario vibe. The food is amazing thanks to a wonderful chef and kitchen. We have tried many of the items on the menu and the food has always been delicious. The service tends to be a bit slow, but this is probably more of a relaxed attitude found in cottage country. They also do take-out which is very convenient. There is a large bar in the central section of the restaurant. There is also a patio at the other end of the restaurant which is open during the warm months - it is sunny, welcoming and has an amazing view especially of the sunset. If you’re ever in the Haliburton area, McKeck’s is a must-try spot! Would highly recommend!
Vadim D — Google review
It's a nice place to have a pint on the patio and maybe don't eat . I'm sorry to say it was a poor food experience. Had the jb burger; hard puck of meat for a patty ( tasted like a cheap frozen, preseasoned Costco patty), seasoning inconsistent with the dish (BBQ sauce styled burger), Comes with fried onions on burger... It was like they were dipped in sand before being fried ( inedible) , I think the idea is the jalapeno would also be fried but they were raw... Speaking of raw.. let's add raw onion? ( Even though the burger has fried onions?) But I guess that worked out since the fried onions got scraped off... I couldn't finish the burger . Surprisingly the fries were good... Get the poutine . My son had the kids nacho ; straightforward dish that I don't know how you can screw up? But literally had more cheese than nachos. Just a gross wad of melted and rehardened cheese that makes the nachos mushy and disgusting.

My wife & I dropped in for a mid afternoon bite and a pint. We asked our waiter to split the special (pickerel & chips) and could we have two plates. The meal was delicious and the portions were very generous given that we split one meal. We both thought they must have been a mistake and they brought us two meals but the bill came and only one meal was on it. A very pleasant experience. The waiter was also very outgoing and friendly. When you’re in Haliburton ON you must check it out.

As I'm thinking how to rate this, I'm struggling to think of anything I disliked. Their food is excellent, I've never been disappointed by anything on the menu. They source their ingredients locally, and support the local community as well. The location is convenient, with excess parking near the library if needed. The atmosphere is very pleasant and laid back, and their service staff are very friendly and prompt. Also- they have their own brand of beer that they ACTUALLY make themselves! I don't drink, but the folks with me certainly enjoyed it. I highly recommend the Highlander Poutine, you'll probably regret it later

I have been to Mckecks several times, snowmobiling, social outings, and had them cater our wedding! They have always satisfied us. Everyone who went to our wedding couldn't stop raving about the food! I am so glad we came up with the best menu/buffet together! Wedding turned out perfectly! 🙏💜 Thank you! Busy place but they are doing a great job! It can get a little loud at times.

We just had dinner at their restaurant. Beautiful place! Great food but our server behind the bar wasn't attentive at all. Never asked us for a second drink. Never came back to the table. Had to ask kitchen staff to bring our bill. $83.00 bill plus tip not not even a glance to say thank you or goodbye.

Kosy Korner is a renowned Haliburton restaurant that has been serving classic home-cooked meals for over 80 years. Located on the main strip, it's a local tradition offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for the whole family. The menu features superb coffee, fresh turkey sandwiches, and Certified Angus beef burgers. Despite being described as a plain ol' diner, it's known for its fast and generous meals along with friendly service.
This was such a lovely restaurant to stop into! Food was delicious with great portions, I love that it's a restaurant that's been around for many years, and the atmosphere was really great!! I will say, the service was a bit hit and miss, but it was incredibly busy!! If you have patience, I say go here cause it's worth every minute you have to wait for the food!

Nestled in the heart of Haliburton, Ontario Kosy Korner Cafe has been serving hearty, home-cooked meals since 1935 — and it shows in every bite! Whether you’re here for the weekend or lucky enough to be local, Kosy Korner Café is always worth the stop. We tried - Turkey Club Sandwich - Fresh roasted turkey daily — a timeless classic done right. Root Beer Pulled Pork Sandwich — a sweet & savoury twist that totally hit the spot. Sweet Tooth Combo Breakfast — French Toasr, sausage and eggs... basically happiness on a plate.
Beez F — Google review
We had a good breakfast here before we carried on for our final destination. Locations was good, just on the main heading out of town. Server was great but the place was very busy. I would recommend this place for a good meal to start your day!
Dorothy B — Google review
Love the atmosphere of Kosy Korner! It really gives off a small town cosy vibe with excellent service. Would not recommend ordering the meatball sub unfortunately. The meatball sub was disappointing — the bread was soggy, the meatballs were mushy, and the overall flavor was lacking. The marinara sauce tasted basic and cheap, which didn’t help elevate the sandwich. The breakfast plates my friends ordered looked amazing though! Definitely should have ordered breakfast instead.

Good experience, food is good and service is good. It is what you expect from a small town diner.

Such a gem. Been coming here since a little girl when we stop in town before the cottage. The standard eggs breakfast is my go to (top of the menu under breakfasts). The staff are nice and the food is great.

This was our first visit to Haliburton and we were lucky to find this restaurant just before they closed. We ordered their Friday fish and chips special for take out .We had the two piece with fries thinking for a light lunch to share at the lovely park near by , turned out we were full for the rest of the day ! The fish and chips were excellent, thick large pieces of fish with a light batter. As good as you get in the UK!! Thank you for a delicious lunch at the park !!

Restaurant
Located in downtown Haliburton Village, Hook Line & Sinker is a family-friendly restaurant offering a seasonal menu and a patio with stunning views of Head Lake. The restaurant caters to children with a variety of kid-friendly options. With its cool vibe, fun cocktails, and prime location, it has quickly become one of the best dining spots in Haliburton. Visitors praise the well-designed space and beautiful lakefront patio. The restaurant also offers vegetarian options alongside its emphasis on fresh fish dishes.
We were a group of 8 stopping in en route home from a motorcycle trip and were very happy that this place was able to seat us for lunch and get us in/out quickly before the rain started. The waitress was lovely - friendly, witty and attentive. The restaurant is super clean, spacious and I just love that it was open like a garage door at the front with patio seating .. despite the expected rain. The washrooms were so adorable - little private fully enclosed booths - very nice indeed. Parking across the street can be a challenge but certainly ample space. I ordered a lovely crispy chicken burger and onion tangles. LOVED IT. The onion tangles were a special treat - wee bit different than the standard onion ring. They were sweeter and very tasty and weren't greasy like the usual onion ring is, so that was a nice surprise. My husband loved his escargot and wings. Everyone at our table was impressed with their dish and the options of beer was also a big hit. Hope to see you next time we are in the area.
April C — Google review
After a day of hiking we stopped in for late lunch/early dinner, as it caught our eye as drove by. Loved the decor, the canoe lights, great touch. I had the chicken sandwich, very crispy, but chicken itself was pretty thin, but it was good. My sister inlaw had the brisket sandwich, and it was the hit of the table, flavours went together very well. I had the drink of the month it was ok, but it needed something, asked the waitress for an ingredient and it make the cocktail pop
Cynsaturn — Google review
Gluten free batter, eh? To those with allergies to that magical component of bread, I am truly sorry. That being said, the coating on my pickerel and chips wasn't bad! Not as good as the fluffy beer battered version, but can hold its own in a knife fight with gluten. You will be impressed with how good it is. Server was really good, although we were left at the entrance standing around for a few minutes. A simple knod of acknowledgment, and we "will be with you in a second" goes a long way. Interior is very cozy with high tops and booths. There are some really nice canoes hung from the ceiling that set a very chill nautical vibe. Patio is large with lovely views of the lake. Parking across the street is ample and easy to access. If you are looking for some great fish and chips, stop.by and give it a try!

We visited here only last week as a party of 8 and I have to say none of us were disappointed. Staff are amazing, so friendly attending to all our requirements without any fuss at all. Food was delicious. Really really good food. And the ambience is delightful. The place was quiet full giving it a lovely bustling atmosphere. And the cocktails, absolutely lips licking scumptious! A truly lovely experience overall. Would highly recommend.
Máire — Google review
Stopped here with a group of friends here to eat. There was 8 of us in total. 20 mins to be seated even though they weren't busy but since there was 8 of us it's kinda understandable. After we were seated it took another 20 mins for the server to come back to take our drink order. Drinks arrived in 10 mins. She vanished after dropping off the drinks for another 10 mins before finally taking our food orders. Once the food orders were in everything was normal until it came time to pay the bill. Food arrived within a decent amount of time and the food quality was good. Time to pay the bill amd our server is no where to be found so we grabbed a different server and asked for our bills. The whole vist was just about 3 hrs. If the place was busy I'd understand. Our sitting time and service was subpar but at least the cook was doing his job. To bad I couldn't just tip the cook.
Rob B — Google review
Came in for dinner with a couple friends and had a lovely experience. The food was amazing and the service was wonderful! Everyone was so kind, highly recommend. Thanks for a wonderful dinner 😊

We had a lovely time here. Our server, Eva, was very friendly. The chicken tenders were amazing. Brisket was yummy. Fish was okay. The highlight was the fact that they had a dog menu. They use leftovers (I think) to make items for dogs, and the proceeds go to the local shelter.

Restaurant
The Mill Pond Restaurant, situated near Mirror Lake, offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating resembling a cottage. The patio provides a relaxing dining experience overlooking the picturesque Mirror Lake. Known for its home-cooked meals, this restaurant is highly regarded in Haliburton Highlands. Following a recent makeover, the staff remains friendly and attentive while offering reasonably priced dishes with generous portion sizes.
We’ve been coming to The Mill Pond for at least 15 years, and it’s hands down our favorite breakfast spot in the area. Their recent renovations look fantastic, fresh and updated while still keeping that cozy, welcoming feel. The decor suits the vibe perfectly. The staff are always so friendly and genuine. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had a single bad service experience here in all these years, which says a lot. And the food? Absolutely delicious. Their breakfast options never disappoint. Just thinking about it makes me want to come back tomorrow morning. We love bringing the whole family here, and it’s become a tradition for us. A true local gem that we’ll keep coming back to, year after year.

A pleasant surprise was to visit this restaurant. We drove to Dorset to look at the beautiful fall landscaping and looked for a restaurant there with no luck. On the way back, we stopped by this one and was fully booked for Thanksgiving Sunday. Thankfully, we were lucky enough to find seats at the bar. The turkey dinner was delicious as well as the rainbow trout. The pumpkin pie was so fresh and homemade taste that it just hit the spot. The ladies serving us were nice and clearly busy, yet Elaine was supper attentive, friendly, and provided great service regardless of fully booked place. I recommend this restaurant if in the area.

The Mill Pond has been around for longer than I can remember. I used to go there often when I was younger, but this was my first visit in years and also my first time since the renovations. I really like what they have done with the place. I stopped in for a late breakfast and everything was very good. I had the sausage and egg sandwich, which I really enjoyed. My wife went with an egg and cheese wrap and some fries. She liked it, but afterwards said she probably should have tried a few of the topping options they offered. Something to keep in mind for next time. My hash browns were perfectly done. The presentation was a little on the simple side, but the food speaks for itself. Overall, it was a good meal at a reasonable price.

We love the Mill pond! It's fresh, local and the service is friendly. It took us a while to get seated as they get extremely busy Sunday morning, but our breakfast went smoothly. I loved the breakfast burger and it was good value for the price !

The service by Michelle was friendly and great, but they were short-staffed today. We only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. Thoroughly enjoyed my clubhouse sandwich, with real turkey and homemade turkey soup. I personally felt that the upcharge for cheese and mayo on the club was a bit of a stretch for two standard ingredients on a club. Portions were fantastic. Left full and satisfied! Would absolutely recommend.

Cute little restaurant. We were riding in the area and stopped in for a late lunch. Service was great and the food delightful. We had the calamari to start and the reuben sandwich and the antwon sandwich (highly recommended!).

What a great little place! The ladies that work here are lovely people. I stopped in for lunch. Pretty close to closing time, and told them I would eat in my car, but they insisted I stay and eat in the restaurant. They're wonderful, the food is good too - it was recommended to me by a local, and he didn't steer me wrong.

Takeout Restaurant
Nestled in the charming Town of Minden, just a stone's throw from downtown and overlooking the serene Gull River, Suwan's Thai Cuisine is a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike. This delightful eatery offers an authentic taste of Thailand with its vibrant dishes served at reasonable prices.
Suwan's is near our cottage and we had been there 1x before long ago. Decided to head into town for an early birthday dinner. Got there as soon as it opened for dinner. Quick service. Super hot fresh food. Had spring rolls, calamari, basil chicken and pad thai with chicken and shrimp. Pretty good! Generous portions...no complaints. No alcohol available. They renovated the dining area with open kitchen concept. Must have good ventilation bc you could hardly smell the food cooking. Nice view of the river too. Highly recommend for a small town dinner!

Had a great meal at Suwanns Thai in Minden! The Thai Spicy Chicken Stir-Fry was exactly as ordered—extra spicy and full of flavour. The Mango Salad was made perfectly to request (no onions, peanuts on the side), and the chicken wings were nice and crispy. Everything was fresh and tasty—definitely worth a visit!

Excellent meal at Suwan’s tonight. Food was delicious (very fresh!) and the service was friendly. Appreciated being able to modify heat/spice levels on the food. Haven’t been inside to eat in a couple of years and noticed that the interior had been updated. A lovely night out in Minden!

Visited in early July and had high expectations from all the reviews, but was disappointed. The classic Pad Thai was a soupy mess of noodles with just tamarind flavour and not much else. Worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. The spicy eggplant was also very soupy not at all spicy and vegetables seemed stewed rather than stir fried. Service was great. Food not so much.

A great place with a few things to do — trails, animals to see, and events. It’s free to go, with a donation model. The food shop is nice, though a bit pricey. We saw some friendly horses.

I can’t say enough about my day at Abby Gardens. What a great track through a beautiful property. I played from the short tees and it was still challenging. 17 is a par 4 over water! Lots of elevation swings, so cool. If you’re in the Halliburton area and you dig disc golf, you have to check this place out.

A nice garden area featuring a farm-to-table bakery, a flock house (chickens and ducks), some green house and vegetable garden. The map said it also has a drive-in theater, a cancer retreat and a number of hiking trails.

An outstanding and fabulous place to visit. We recently saw a show as part of their summer music festival. The setting was intimate, the sound was great, and the snacks were tasty!

Very beautiful and challenging course! Tees were perfect with astroturf. Pretty good signage. Beautiful meadow with gorgeous wildflowers to start and end the course - keep an eye on your discs as they land in tall grasses! Wooded holes in the middle of the course. Challenging to weave around trees. Dense woods, lost one disc. Water trap at the end made for a challenging finish. Beautiful nature and we were able to hit the brewery on the way out. One of the best I've played in Ontario!

We were passing by and stopped by for a quick stop as everyone was hungry. Such an amazing little cafe equipped with everything we were party of 10 including kids . They were quick in taking orders and helpful in explaining the menu. Everything was fresh and organic. I was amazed at different food options for example they had samosa and pakora too. Bean sandwiches were our favourite. Falafel was equally amazing but i would prefer it to be more saucy means wish i had asked them to add extra sauce. Kids loved thr grilled cheese. Different drinks available from tea, chai , espresso and hot chocolate. I will say if u r passing make it a must stop. They have a beautiful place to sit outside and a small covered place outside where we enjoyed our food. They have some ponies and beautiful ponds on site. Thanku Abbey’s u guyz were amazing.

Stumbled upon this cute cafe and was incredibly pleased. Had a wonderful tea and probably the best chocolate chip cookie of my life. It was such a nice treat to stop in here, browse the beautiful antiques and then explore the other shops and nearby park. Reasonably priced and lots of seating available. Highly recommend.

An antique shop of note. I would sing its praises if I could carry one. Thankfully, the music box and antique radio might stand in for me.

I recently visited the Antique Cafe in Haliburton and I have to say it was an absolute delight! The coffee was some of the best I've had in a while and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. What really stood out to me was the amazing collection of antique items on display throughout the cafe. There were so many interesting things to look at, from vintage typewriters to old-fashioned cameras, and it really added to the overall ambiance of the place. The atmosphere of the cafe was cozy and comfortable, with plenty of seating options to choose from. Whether you're looking for a quiet corner to read a book or a spot to catch up with friends over coffee, you'll find it here. Overall, I highly recommend the Antique Cafe to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable coffee experience. The coffee is great, the staff are wonderful, and the antique items on display are truly fascinating. Don't miss out on this hidden gem in Haliburton!

Gorgeous antique store and cafe! The cafe had some seriously delicious options and vegan pasteries!! I tried their Lavender London fog when I last visited and it was so delicious! As for the antiques, there’s a huge selection of furniture pieces, art and kitchenware, as well as old coin rides and tools. I will say the prices are a rather high but worth stopping by for a good look around!

SUCH an amazing vintage shop in town. Has a lot of variety of furniture, kitchen ware and everyday cool items. Prices are pretty good for antiques of this caliber. The cafe is also a very nice touch. Nice staff and great drinks, and desserts. Would recommend visiting if you’re in town.

Excellent food (vegetarian options available) served on fine china. Mushroom soup, quiche and desserts were fabulous, but the savoury rustic pie (sweet potato and beet galette with goat cheese) was unbelievable! Stopped by for a Saturday apres ski lunch and enjoyed toe-tapping, sing-along, live music by Lauren and Bill Candy. Lovely selection of desserts and freshly baked breads. Prices are quite low for the quality of food coming out of this kitchen Staff are on the ball! Providing great service with a smile. This place is a real gem! I'll return!

I popped in without knowing Sirchs background and community service. I needed a quick lunch today and was delighted to get a delicious bowl of soup and a small salad. Both were very well presented, fresh and plentiful. With a nice hot cup of tea to finish it off. Nestled within Castle Antiques and Cafe in the heart of downtown Haliburton, Poquito Loco is a delightful culinary escape that brings authentic Mexican flavors to this charming town. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, especially on Friday nights, this eatery has garnered praise from food enthusiasts who appreciate its commitment to quality. With a background in an authentic Mexican restaurant and personal ties to Mexico, the owner ensures that every dish reflects true Mexican cuisine.
Super fun to eat tacos in an antique store! The food was fresh and delicious - and we went on a Tuesday so it was buy 3 get one free! You then sit at any of the tables and chairs available in the antique shop!
Angela F — Google review
What a great idea for a restaurant in an antique store! It felt like ordering authentic Mexican street food because adjacent to Loco’s counter is a vintage travel trailer doubling as an ice cream shop. The tacos and the burrito that we ordered were very good and lots of room for customization. I often find burritos lacking in meat and too much rice. Here I could decline the rice and add many other fillings such as refried beans, guacamole, corn, cotija, etc. we’ll definitely be back!
R B — Google review
A huge congratulations to the team here for bringing taste of Mexico to Halliburton! The tacos, the tostadas, the quesadillas, the corn, the guacamole…it’s all done so well. Thank you Claudette for an amazing lunch with stunning views! Wish you all the best
Ricky E — Google review
Enjoyed fresh burritos, fresh ingredients; very generous size for a “small”. Not the cheapest casual lunch for 3 (3 small burritos with guacamole, 3 soft drinks) = $74, but we didn’t leave hungry. Very cool atmosphere with local souvenirs and antiques.

What a hidden gem! We stumbled upon Poquito Loco tucked inside an antique store and were so glad we did. We had the burritos and they were incredibly fresh and packed with flavour and clearly made with care. Every bite was delicious. The service was just as lovely as the food, warm, welcoming, and relaxed. It made the whole experience feel like a cozy little secret spot you want to tell all your friends about (but also kind of keep to yourself!). The unique setting inside the antique store only added to the charm. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

Great food and service! I worked in an authentic Mexican restaurant in Toronto for 9 years, my wife is Mexican, we go all over Mexico every year, and I’m a bit of a foodie having working in restaurants for 15years….and this place impressed me. Although I’m vegan and only got the vegan tacos, so I can’t speak for the rest of the menu, the tacos were fantastic! Authentic corn tortillas, proper guacamole with NO garlic or black pepper (that’s right, Mexican guac doesn’t come with raw garlic) and good toppings. Wes is the man. Great service hombre…and Claudette is a super cool owner and creator of this establishment. Great job 👏🏻 it’s obvious you’ve spent a lot of time in Mexico 🇲🇽

Known for its delicious steak and pasta offerings, the menu also features a variety of options including burgers, hot sandwiches, pub classics, fish and chips, and fresh seafood. During a recent visit to the area with friends, we were drawn to this gem based on recommendations from fellow diners.
Exceptional service Our waiter was super cute and spunky. Even complimented my hair 😃 Food was fast and FRESH. The salad was kicking like Van Dam. Steak cooked to perfection. Decent prices. I recommend you stop in for a bite if you are in the area. Best Food in this side of town.

We celebrated my birthday here with 2 friends and all of us loved our food. Portions are bigger than we expected and the prices very fair. The seafood & steak I had was phenomenal. Our server was fun and attentive. The atmosphere is easily casual but also felt special for a birthday or anniversary get together. We will definitely be back !

We ordered the Louisiana pasta, chicken fingers and bruschetta. All great flavours! The pasta was too spicy for my taste though. I normally go for medium spice with food and my mouth was burning. We got takeout and the server came out to my car as soon as I arrived. I would definitely come again - would just try a different pasta.

We were in the Minden area to meet up with friends, the Pepper Mill Steak and Pasta House was recommended to us by another patron. We had scallops, escargot nachos and French Onion soup for appetizers. 2 prime rib dinners, sirloin dinner and a burger plater for our main course. We also had 4 beers and to Caesar drinks. The total with $330. Plus tip If you're in the area, definitely check it out.

If you find yourself in the charming Haliburton area, make sure to stop by Baked & Battered, a delightful eatery that beautifully merges the cozy ambiance of a café and bakery with the hearty offerings of a fish fry shop. This relatively new establishment has quickly gained popularity for its inviting atmosphere, featuring a warm fireplace and an array of freshly baked goods.
Great fish and chips. Two piece haddock was filling. Tried clam strips and scallops. Both breaded/fried. Yum. Good selection of sauces and dips. Pickle fries were good. Vanilla milkshake was okay. Only criticism is that the tartar sauce was bland. Didn’t taste like anything. I would go again.
Sean — Google review
The staff is super friendly and I liked the option of eating in their dining area. The one piece of pickerel was as much fish as the two piece but double the price. The fries were undercooked in my opinion. There wasn’t a single crunchy fry and we threw out most of them. The tartar sauce is delicious though! Love how pickle-y it is. The calamari was good. We also got two cookies and a vegan chocolate cake. The cookies were amazing! The cake was really good for a vegan cake too. Overall, everything seems a bit overpriced for the quality but given a lot of cottage goers probably come here, I can understand why it’s priced like that. I would still probably come back as we really wanted the catfish but they ran out!
Christine — Google review
Service and setting is fantastic, but portions felt skimped. It's a great place for breakfast or lunch. The pastries are hit or miss; the chocolate hazelnut croissant was amazing but the normal croissant wasn't so good. The butter tarts were different but not to my taste. The cinnamon buns were just average. The breakfast plate and avocado wrap were both good.
Flawnson T — Google review
This is a great gluten-free find out in cottage country. Gluten-wise fish and chips as well as wings? Yes please! They have patio coverings for lineups with masks for lineup and ordering. Covered tables for sun and rainy days. Fish was lightly battered and came out like it was baked. Chips aren't crunchy fried so it was more moist... Like pub fries than fast food fries. Tip: Pay extra for the sweet potato fries. Wow.
Johnson K — Google review
After a long drive from the city and a day at the beach, this was the perfect spot to get a filling and well made meal. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. If you’re ever in Haliburton or the surrounding areas this is definitely the place to go and grab a bite. It’s definitely a local favourite and it shows by the volume of people on their patio.

Outstanding Ring of Fire burger. Had the reaper mayo and spicy BBQ sauce on the side to dip my side order of fries! Also the Homemade Pilsner Malt Vinegar was a nice touch! Added a Wolf Howl West Coast IPA. Never see it or had it before. Really a good add with ANY dish! Also took a six pack home of Wolf Howl, Blair Hampton Triangle New England IPA and a Kangaroo English Style IPA.

We got the beer flight with a chicken burger and a beef burger with beer battered fries on the side. Fries are not pictures because they were the most delicious fries I’ve ever had in my life and they were gone before I could even take a picture. I will truly be dreaming about those fries forever.

When Boshkung Brewing says Good Beer, Good People, it’s not just a slogan—it’s a living truth. My stop at their Minden location was completely unexpected, but it turned into one of the best lunch breaks I’ve had in a long while. From the moment I walked in, the hospitality was next-level. My server went above and beyond—warm, welcoming, and genuine. She suggested the perfect beer-and-burger combo that turned my stressful day right around. Sometimes it’s the little things—a smile, the right amount of enthusiasm—that change everything. I went with the Boshkung Blues 6oz burger—juicy beef with lettuce, onion, bacon jam, stout BBQ sauce, and blue cheese. Every bite was bold and layered, especially paired with Little Canoe Light Lager. That lager was crisp, refreshing, and just complex enough to keep me going back for another sip. I couldn’t resist grabbing a few cans to take home, along with one of their golden ales that carried soft malt, floral hop aromas, and a smooth fruitiness. Both brews perfectly captured what craft beer should be: balanced, distinctive, and deeply satisfying. The team here clearly takes pride not just in crafting top-tier beer, but also in creating a memorable, uplifting experience. What started as a quick pit stop turned into a highlight of my day. Minden is lucky to have a gem like Boshkung Brewing—this is a place worth going out of your way for.

Stopped in here for a quick lunch and sit with the kids. We ordered fries, chicken bites, a hot dog and tasting 2 flights of beer. The server was lovely and the food was quick and delicious! We ordered a second round of fries for the table because everyone loved them. The strawberries and cream sour was 10/10! They were short staffed that day with only 1 server and a very busy place, but she was hustling and still great. Will for sure come back again!

Amazing bake shop and convenient home-made frozen meals section for cottage weekends. Smoothies, sweet tea and specialty sodas. We got apple fritters, cheese cake squares, giant cookies and a rhubarb loaf. 10/10

Great food in a cute setting. They have a huge breakfast/brunch menu with options for everyone (vegan, vegetarian, gf, meat eaters, big eaters, small eaters...). Standouts were the eggs benedict that they serve on an amazing tea biscuit instead of an english muffin and the baked beans! They also put a small slice of lemon loaf on our plates which was a nice touch and the homemade jam for toast was delicious. They had a nice setup to sit outside if you wanted and will bring the food out. Service was quick and they checked on us to see if we needed coffee refills.
Jenna — Google review
Perfect Bistro place out in minden, when you have limited restaurant to select from! They serve hot and delicious food. Vegan paradise was mouth watering! I highly recommend to visit. They also have the frozen takeout food for the trip. Chocolate fudge is worth trying. Will definitely love to visit anytime when I am nearby Haliburton and Algonquin.
Anand M — Google review
I wanted to love this place but Molly’s was simply a disappointment. While the atmosphere was cosy (at best) and the menu suggested something special, it was anything but. The food under delivered massively and there was no service (not bad service, simply no service to speak of, you have to go to the counter yourself to order and pay). For three people ordering a meal each and 3 coffees (K-cup coffee being the only option) it came to $65. The hollandaise sauce was split, the food was cold, especially the waffle (pale and not crispy), the crepe and the French toast. The apple sauce was not good. The herbs in the parsley-caper pesto were not chopped finely enough and did not go well with the rest of the flavours on the plate. The home fries were soggy and did not taste good. The only thing warm on the plate were the eggs. It seems to appeal to local clientele.
Pam K — Google review
Delicious lunches and lots of vegetarian and vegan options. I really loved the egg salad sandwich and the potato salad. They also have frozen meals that you can bring home. My favourite was the butter tarts! They do have raisins in them but they are sooo good. Can’t wait to come back!
Christine — Google review
Have to let people know the kitchen inside isn't being used for whatever reason. The food is premade then, heated up (meat pies for example). Asked what her favourite one was and she replied 'all of them or I wouldn't make them'. Great - thanks for the recommendation! Then when we got our pies they were bland and two were mixed up (not what we asked for). Coffee is drip but there is no station she adds the cream and sugar for you. Leaving bad reviews sucks but I would have liked to know these details before spending $52 on three hand pies and two coffees.
Tegan B — Google review
Everything was freezer burned and almost $30. The bread looked very unappetizing. I bought a blonde for $4 (because I promised my 3yo a treat) and it tasted 2 weeks old. It was a river crispy bar with chocolate on top. It was very chewy and stale. I will not be returning ever again and I would not recommend this bakery to my worst enemy.

During my recent one-day adventure in Canada, I stumbled upon 241 Pizza, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise! The experience was nothing short of fantastic as they crafted a customized pizza tailored to my preferences. The friendly staff made the visit even more enjoyable. I arrived around 9 PM and ordered a medium pizza that was perfectly cooked with delicious toppings and sauce. In just 15 minutes, I had this mouthwatering creation ready to devour.
Dropped in around 9 and ordered a medium pizza. The pizza was cooked well, toppings were nice and I enjoyed the sauce too. Was cooked in 15min and we at the whole thing!

Honestly love this pizza. The downfall has been that over the last year or so their service has gotten terrible. I do general construction and often buy lunch or food for the site. Couple weeks ago at 1230pm I called 20 times over an hour and the phone was constantly busy. Upon walking in the crew were all working, but what looked like someone's wife was just chatting casually on the phone. Today, advertised as open at 10am, I showed up at 1035 to a locked store with no lights on. Get it together guys.

They should really learn how to make pizza. No flavour, mushy, greasy Pepperoni. Just not edible.
Sandra D — Google review
Worst place ever. Over priced but what choice do ppl have, seems like the only pizza place in town. Had to wait 1 hour for a so called walk in special that claims to be 15 min. Not impressed at all. Not once did they wash their hands, touching everything from money to the register and then the pizzas. Gross. It's hot in there, no ac either
J M — Google review
It was not a clean place. The restroom had pee on the toilet seat and all over floor and smells badly. Garbages overflowing. They’re using phones taking payments and not washing hands. Garbage on the floors. Hard to communicate with them had to repeat order multiple times. Just not a great experience.

Up until recently I thought they were great. I was a constant customer, but ordered a pizza friday, and was sick for 2 days. When I mentioned it to the man after, he laughed at me. said what do you want to order. Im allergic and get sick get from bacteria. i now wonder after reading reviews im wondering about how they upkeep

Never had such a great pizza in Canada. Actually we just went there for a one day trip, and in the end we decided to visit this place. They made extraordinary customised pizza as per our instructions. The staff is very friendly too!
Krutarth M — Google review
Owner or at least the guy at the counter is so friendly. 241 is what it is. But the guy that served me made my day. Thanks again friend . I definately will stop by next time I'm in town.

If you're on the lookout for a casual dining experience that allows you to customize your meal, look no further than Subway. This popular counter-serve chain specializes in build-your-own sandwiches and salads, catering to health-conscious diners with fresh ingredients. Many patrons rave about their experiences here, often highlighting the exceptional service provided by staff members like Vijay and Kanchan.
We had the veggie sub, breakfast sandwiches, coffee and cookie. Everything was freshly prepared and had excellent taste. A very sweet and kind lady Kanchan prepared the food for us, she went above and beyond to provide wonderful service. The restaurant was very clean and very well maintained. Would definitely recommend 😊🤩
Nikita K — Google review
I have been buying here for a few years now and actually drive passed other Subways to get to this one. It is always about the service for me, although the food is always fresh too. Friendly but brief conversations (dont hold the line up to chat) , washrooms are clean and they have a large sitting area to eat.
E L — Google review
The sub was great, the customer service is terrible. There is a coupon on the app that gives you a free cookie with any sub, I didn't know you had to redeem it with the order (which I did make online) so I asked them about it, they told me I had to order an entire new sub and put it on the order first. I just said to them "listen yes my mistake, but couldn't you just give me a cookie ?" Like it's a $.50 cookie you could have just comped it but had to insist I buy another sub just to get the cookie for free, even though it clearly states free cookie with any sub on the advertisement , doesn't tell you to add it first unless you dig into the details . So for this they get 2 stars. 10 years ago people would have just given the cookie anyways, nowadays the world is way different and so frightening stingy. Yes I understand that they probably get reimbursed for the cookie from head office or what ever, but it was one cookie, wasn't asking for a free sub. Just what I deserved since I already paid for a 12" sub.

We were in the area for a retreat and picked up sandwiches for lunch several days running. By the second day, Japan had memorized our orders! We were impressed with his customer service and attention to detail. Sandwiches were delicious, too.
Nancy B — Google review
Usually I don’t like subway and haven’t had it in years but stopped in for a ham sub and it was delicious! Even the cookies were great! Did something change?? 10/10
Brittlyn B — Google review
Every time I go into Subway, I am always greeted nicely, and my order is taken in a timely and accurate manner. Their product is always fresh, and I am always satisfied with my order.
Melissa Y — Google review
We really had a great experience here . I think this Subway place runs good because of the server Vijay here. He is so friendly, open minded and easy to talk to. He knows everyone in town as he has been in the city for more than 12 years. He made a special foot long chicken sandwich for us when we asked him that we would like to have a chicken sandwich and it was delicious. I would encourage Vijay to keep up with his positive attitude and service for all the customers. I will definitely visit this place again when I am there again in the town.
Gaurav R — Google review
Thanks for a great sub, and a friendly chat while on my way home from a long drive. Your place was spotless, and the service great. Had a good talk with the gentleman behind the counter. Would recommend to anyone. Will be sure to visit next time down your way. Doug.

If you're in Haliburton Village, make sure to stop by the Mega Munch Food Truck for a delightful culinary experience. Nestled near a picturesque river with outdoor seating, it's an ideal spot for enjoying a picnic after your meal. The menu boasts unique offerings like breakfast poutine and crispy fries that are sure to satisfy any craving. Patrons rave about their deep-fried pickles and the Kickin' Chicken Poutine, which has become a favorite among repeat visitors.
Love a food truck? Head to Mega Munch in Haliburton Village. Two trips this week by members of our party to Mega Munch! Excellent portions, reasonable prices. Deep fried pickles are a weakness of my partner, and the ones served up by MMFT really hit the spot. They have a few picnic tables on site, but we took our meal to go and sat at the Haliburton Highlands Museum. My nephew, who was on both of the trips and had the Kickin' Chicken Poutine twice, highly recommends it. August 20/22, 2024 Y, C, R, F, C & J

Decided to give these guys a try for a bite to eat before dinner. Be careful the food is dangerous. Everything was well made. Tried the 3 cheese bacon poutine and the whistle dog. Both awesome

This is a must try place in haliburton. Portions are gigantic, prices are great. You will not leave hungry. Grab some food and walk down to the lake. Enjoy the view. Can’t beat that. Pro tip: you can order straight from their website and even choose a pick up time. They take Apple Pay which is super convenient

Fun spins of burgers, hot dogs, and poutine, are available. You're spoiled for choices. The person taking our order was extremely pleasant and kindly made suggestions, while also helpfully answering our questions. The food itself is delicious. Amazing fries. Deep fried cheese curds are so fun and tasty. Pickly Poutine with perogies was outstanding. 11/10.

This was our first time exploring Haliburton Highlands and after a hike we wanted to have a heavy meal. Found Mega Munch Food Truck in google and were so very pleased with their hearty burgers. The taste was one of the best we have had so far. Will order from there again, whenever we are in the area next. Highly recommended

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than West G Pizza & Grill. This charming eatery has garnered a loyal following since its inception, thanks to its consistently friendly service and mouthwatering menu. The pizza here is often hailed as some of the best around, featuring fresh dough and generous toppings that strike the perfect balance—not too thick or thin. Beyond their renowned pizzas, West G also offers massive panzerottis that are simply irresistible!
Great food and service. Panzerottis are huge and delicious! Dough and toppings all tasted fresh. UPDATE: Great take out option during covid!! Still fresh and delicious! Great pizza joint in a small town

Ordered the burger and fries. Was a good portion and very tasty. Was almost 20 bucks after tip and with pop. I left full. Will definitely go again. Hear the pizza is really good too.
Jacob J — Google review
I have been going to West G.pizza since they opened. Service has always been great, the owner has always been pleasant and the wait times are reasonable maybe not McDonald's speedy service but the quality of the food is worth the wait. It's always best to phone in your order as they can be quite busy at times. If you expect to just drive up and order expecting a quick drive through experience I suggest you stay in the city and go to McDonald's.
Lorraine E — Google review
So we've heard that the food here is very good and came all the way from Toronto area to try. Upon arrival, fairly normal exchange, order food, pay, wait. Except they take your money and expect you to wait....outside....until they have prepared it. We were originally told 10-15. Waited then went to check...told another 5-10, waited 10....told to wait an additional 5-10.... i watched one lady who pre order pizzas well ahead by phone full on leave after she was also told an aditional 20 minutes....and another gentleman who ordered a half hour be told the same and leave. As a cook myelf, i understand frustrating and busy times and how the restaurant industry has its challenges but you should never get nasty with you customers due to their frustration from your riduculous wait time. But to get nasty and tell your customers, "well, it takes this long due to...." dot dot dot excuses, instead of being courteous and honest about the wait time then rudely offer a refund instead of the paid for food that is now a half hour past is beyond mistifying! Thankfully we went to the Trulls restaurant on Kennisis lake and were instantly helped, ushered to a comfortable seat and had our food (real beef burger that apparently takes a half hour to cook) within 12 minutes of walking in! Thank you Mills for saving our night.! I HIGHLY recomend them if youre in the area! West G pizza? Worst service and wait time ive ever had!

Arrived 1.5hrs prior to an event we were going to. We were greeted by a rude hostess. Asked to sit outside because it was hot and stuffy inside. Were told she would be out to get our drink orders shortly. 20 minutes passed and we went in to ensure they didn’t forget us. We were rudely told she will be with us soon. Placed our order a good 35 minutes after getting here. The entire order was completely wrong when it arrived at our table. The order sheet was stuck to the box and it was written down right. The waitress was rude when we told her we had somewhere to be in a half hour. and asked how long it would be. Will never come here again

New ownership foods better. Little disorganized due to new take over . Pizza was good . But who uses canned mushrooms !on homemade pizza. Fries looked cooked but were not inside Might be a while but hopefully they get into a groove and improve. 3/5

The pizzas were great. Fresh dough, baked perfectly and with generous toppings. The dough was not too thick and not thin, just right (said baby bear. ) Great value. Nice people.
Mike J — Google review
Would not recommend coming here at all, I placed an order of a burger and poutine, was charged for the small instead of the "side" pouting, that got refunded and I was told about another 10-12 minutes, fast forward 11 minutes and I went back up to check on my food. I was told another 5 minutes because they're "real homemade burgers" and after 5 more minutes was told at least another 5 minutes. Waited 25+ minutes and finally got a refund..... service was exceptionally terrible and rude.
