We've walked past Pear Tree many times but this time, we chose to give it a try. The food was refreshingly healthy. Our waiter, Matthew, was so welcoming and even gently chased a bee from our table 🐝 - clearly the bee appreciates nice food. Do yourself a favour and try their delicious truffle fries! Cauliflower Steak & Red Thai Curry would have been nicer but the curry sauce was watery, not creamy (coconut cream would have helped to thicken the sauce). The vegetables had not been drained of excess water before being mixed with the curry sauce - as a result of watered down sauce, it lost a lot of the curry's supposedly bold flavours. The cauliflower steak itself was small. However, the staff and the atmosphere really created something special here and we will definitely be back to try more items from their menu.

Food was amazing! We recommend this restaurant to losts of our guests staying with us at The Potting Shed. Their vegan dishes are devine (although they sell meat and fish dishes too). I highly recommend this restaurant. ❣️

Amazing food with kind service on a beautiful location! The food was all amazing, we got the calamari sushi, bang bang cauliflower, chicken nachos and truffle fries. Cocktails are great too. Our waiter Michele was very kind. They also have a high chair for the baby and a nice children's menu, our baby loved the rainbow bowl with falafel! Recommended!

A lovely, cosy little bistro across the cliff path on Hermanus Bay. Great vegetarian and vegan options. My whole family relished the meal. We had gone to this restaurant 2 years ago and chose to go again with a wonderful experience both times round.

I ordered the salmon poke and was disappointed with the taste. The sushi rice also didn’t seem to have rice vinegar/sugar mix. There was no ginger and the salmon portion was very small The ginger shot had some lumps in it which didn’t make it great. The kombucha dagga ginger was nice. They give you blankets to sit outside when it’s cold which was great My partner’s food: hake tacos, Korean chicken wings and lamb, mushroom pappardelle were all much better although the pasta was too salty

Absolutely loved the food here. We stopped in town and came across the restaurant and decided to give it a try. No regrets! There’s great selections for vegetarians too. I especially loved the gnocchi and the bang bang cauliflower

Absolutely amazing! We started off with the Springbok Carpaccio, which I could not recommend enough. We then had the lamb ribs and seafood pasta. The lamb might just be the best lamb I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The lamb is juicy and just falls apart in your hands.

We ordered seafood platter for 2, it arrived super quickly, our food sat for a few minutes whilst our waiter fetched us our plates. We did ask for the extra line fish, it was presented well. We loved the grilled calamari tubes, hake and line fish, everything else wasn’t hot which was a real shame.

Father's day lunch. Lovely setting, close to the ocean. Ordered different meals of which the best was the hake/calamari combo. The oxtail was ok as was the meat balls and mash, the two specials for the day. We were unfortunate to be seated close to an extremely loud patron that basically prevented out table from conversing but I suppose that's the luck of the draw.

Great service, great food, beautiful view! We went for breakfast at Burgundy and enjoyed it so much that we returned for dinner. We had the Eggs Benedict (which was fantastic) whilst sitting outside with a beautiful view of the ocean. For dinner we had the Patagonian calamari and seafood pasta (both dishes were also great) and sat inside in a quiet and cosy setting at the back. What stood out for me especially was the kindness, care and hospitality that the waiters have. Apart from our own waiter, I observed the same in the rest of the team as well and was very impressed. Will definitely want to return!

Great location overlooking the sea lovely view views and great for both nature watching and people watching!. I was only drinking but some of the reviews have put me off eating food there, plus although the service was friendly, it was incredibly slow. Asked twice for the bill, wasn’t forthcoming, one person serving, three other guys standing round talking. The guy who was serving me at ask someone else to get my check several times as they were too busy engaging with each other. Despite the fabulous location, the level of hygiene witnessed outside was poor, food debris on the floor not cleared up, sugar sachets on the floor, serviettes on the floor, straw paper on the floor, not cleared up, with waiters walking past and not clearing. Tables cleared despite now and sitting there. A shame as this could be an amazing venue with the right attention and care from the staff. See pictures on the food debris on the floor. I mentioned that Service was poor and slow when I paid and was surprised that a tip was still expected. No response to my comment.

Food quality was tasty amd good. Name is Italian for the pan, however the focus is seafood dishes. One italian dish in vegetetian section shocked me. The chicken dishes were tasty. Alex was the waiter....mmm i asked his name so i could use it to call him of need be....he asked for ours which i thought was unecessary and cocky. He had a thorough knowledge of specials which was great, but i think it tool 5 minutes to get through....way long. I beleive your table settings like salt and pepper should match your pricing which os on the high end of restaurants we visited in Hermanus. Please look at your wine glasses they are huge not elegany or appropriate for red wine never mind white. Go to Hasher wine farm and buy those wine glasses elegant and approptiate for wine exceeding R500 a bottle. Would love to have seen Tiramisu on tge dessert menu.

It’s a relatively low-key restaurant that does not overtly attract too much attention. It’s small and cozy with an amazing view of the bay. The food is intricately designed. It was an interesting menu with a unique combination of flavours. Foodies would love it. Overall the vibe is quite chilled and relaxing. It’s all about the food and company. They have an excellent wine selection. A great place to bond with good friends over spectacular views, food and wine.

Guilty to have gone here twice in the last month coincidentally. So good. Every time. Crocodile carpaccio so unexpectedly delicious. Springbok carpaccio absolutely delicious. Escargot good, however the duck phyllo pastry was next level, so flavourful with such tender meat. I’ve had the prawns there more than once and you can’t go wrong. They’re the perfect portion served on a bed of rice. Fillet delicious and cooked perfectly. Ended off with a Lindt salted caramel chocolate fondant which I would go back for alone. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Hermanus! It’s a great date night spot or a family friendly restaurant.

WoW ... an amazing evening spent for my birthday. We were welcomed with a glass of Champagne, organised by my husband. Beautiful views and the restaurant is stunning inside. We both ordered the 200g Fillet with veggies etc. Our meat was cooked to perfection, seriously I don't say this often. It was absolutely devine. Our waitress Gabriella was so caring, professional and competent. Saw to all our needs. Thank you so much Gabriella for taking care and adding to a very special evening for us. I highly recommend this restaurant, it's outstanding.

Might have been the best seafood pasta I've ever had! (Portion so big it can serve 2)

Definitely one the best plate of prawns I have tried, this venue offers comfort, a view and quality prepared meals. It is on the pricey side but the taste bud tingle is all worth it. Cue your happy dance for good food.

We booked on the recommendation of our guest house host as we only had one night in Hermanus. We rang late in the afternoon for a table for 6 later that same day. It was no trouble and they fitted us in without issue. When we arrived we'd be allocated a lovely corner table right next to the windows overlooking the bay. Spin was our waiter, taking us through the specials board as well as bringing our drinks and ensuring we had everything else we might need. The food was absolutely delicious, a range of starters, mains and desserts were all enjoyed by the six of us, and Spin made sure we were happy with each course as we ate them. With full tummies and empty plates we all felt we'd had both excellent service and wonderful food. We would highly recommend La Pentola. Be aware, cash tips are retained by your waiter whilst tips you add through your credit card will be split by the whole team.

We had a dinner booking for a Saturday evening at 18:00 and were seated on the deck overlooking the sea — a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset. The restaurant itself is uniquely set inside a cave, adding to the charm and atmosphere of the evening. My partner and I shared the seafood platter for two, priced at R890. It included tiger prawns, fish, calamari, mussels, chips, and rice. The portion size was just right for both of us, and everything tasted fresh. While it is on the pricier side compared to a standard seafood platter, you’re also paying for the stunning views and the overall experience. A truly unique dining experience — I’d definitely recommend a visit!

From the outset these kinds of places look like a typical tourist trap with sub par food and service because of the location and whale spotting, but this was definitely not my experience. We shared the Perlemoen bitteballen. Crunchy and fishy. Great start. At this point we spotted a whale breaching and it was honestly the most incredible experience of my life! For mains I had the Hake and Chips. Maybe I was still hypnotized by the whale but this was honestly the best freakin hake of my life!!! It was perfectly flaky, the batter was not your typical beer batter. It was thin and crunchy and such a nice contrast to the flakiness of the hake. Also, the portions were oh so generous!! I was very happy. Our waiter was also very jovial and provided great service. I would definitely recommend if you’re going to watch whales this season.

I was very excited to experience this cave restaurant and its awesome views. Food - Not alot of options on the menu. We kept in easy and simple with a hake and chips and a beef burger. Both our items were good. Prices are on the higher side. Service - Friendly helpful staff, not much to say here. Good job. Atmosphere - Amazing view. Bench seats are uncomfortable but practical. The stairs on the way down with test your knees and ankles. Beware.😅 I will not return but was a good experience for us and recommend for others.

The amazing location of the restaurant situated in a cave located next to the cove made Bientang's Cave restaurant absolutely unforgettable. They were fortunately able to seat out entire group including our late comers. For vegetarian food there weren't many options, I opted for the burata salad and a bar one milkshake. Though they listed many exciting flavours on their menu, they were only able to offer me 3 options. The food was ready relative quickly and was fresh and flavourful and the milkshake was thick and creamy. Overall a decent meal and though it was slightly pricey the view and proximity to the whales was well worth it. Our server was decent and helpful as were as the rest of staff at the at the restaurant. Definitely a must visit, in my opinion, even if it's just for a drink.

A spectacular meal with friendly, professional service. We 3 of us had fish entrees, and one had a very tasty pork dish. Gorgeous views! One of the best settings in Hermanus for lunch or dinner. All of us would highly recommend.

The restaurant is very busy and usually booked well in advance. We didn’t have a reservation and were only offered a spot at the drinks table, which had just three chairs and wasn’t suitable for a disabled person. When we asked if alternative seating could be arranged, we were told it wasn’t possible. After mentioning that we would note this experience in our review, the manager accused us of emotional blackmail and was nearly verbally aggressive. I would strongly recommend some hospitality training for the management team.

Went for an early lunch and got the seafood platter. The seafood was really good and the views were even better. Great service and conversation with the staff too. If I come back to Hermanus I’ll be back for sure

Cosy intimate restaurant with warm and friendly staff. Love the seaside deco and simplicity. Food was good however I felt it did lack flavour. Love my desserts, was just so disappointed that I received mine incomplete.

The food is amazing, didn’t make a booking. But got a table cause I had an early dinner. The restaurant was very warm considering the very windy day and cold day. Loved it here. Highlight of my stay in Harmunus , followed my the whale 🐋 spotting .

The food was amazing. We had the oysters. The flavour was very nutty. For starters we took the hake paté and mussels. The hake paté looked like a star dish. The mussels were big and tasteful. We loved the Garlic sauce! We took Prawns for dinner. I recommend the prawns with Rice. For the wine, we took a Nice bottle of chardonnay. It was a bit more pricey. The house wine is very good and cheap. Zizo was our waitress and took so good care of us. She was really helpful, patient and took initiative. One of our best places for food in SA

I was a solo diner and I honestly didn’t make a booking, so took a chance. Thankfully it was early evening and there were many tables outside. Food service, lots to choose from on the menu for everyone. I chose whitebait & the softshell crab, a rosé wine to start my night.

Really good food. Prices are normal for Hermanus (higher than CPT). Quality was really good. Manu changes - depending on the season. Good wines. Good desserts. Ambiente could be a bit more comfy :)

This was the best food we've had in South Africa and we've eaten some incredible things. The paella was sensational. Also a massive shout-out to Ross the waiter, such a great guy who made sure to tell you how long the food would be and also to just generally chat. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us a lot with our choice of meat and steak. I also thought the illustration to help us understand the differences was excellent. The meat was tender, but slightly spicy with the pepper. It was excellent. I won't find another steak house this good in a hurry. Simply absolutely great!

Best steaks ever! The dried aged sirloin was mind blowing! The wet aged beef filet was amazing! Steaks are cooked to perfection. The staff are amazing! What an outstanding dining experience!

Visited during end Sep with my wife. We were on our honeymoon trip and had a stayover at Hermanus. Our airbnb owner recommended this place and coincidently that day is Braai day too! The meals are really delicious and the service crews are all friendly and polite too! Had a really nice dinner over there :)

Good quality-price balance. Gentle burguers with nice presentation and Vegan burguer option. Also tried the corn sticks and smashed potatoes.(the cheesy ones are quite tough but nice). Not recommended if you are looking for a light meal so get ready.

During the Whale Festival on Saturday 4 Oct '25, my wife and I walked into Char’d, and their reception was on top form. We were assigned to Chengo... wow, what a guy! I ordered a burger that wasn’t on the menu because and said I prefer a Blue Cheese Burger. Chengo said it can be done... I’ve done a number of restaurant reviews over the past 10 years, and I have never tasted a burger this good. This is the honest truth! The balance between the loaded toppings and onion rings with the most devine blue cheese sauce that lingers in the back of your mouth was spectacular. The most impressive part was the smoky flavour of the medium-rare patty... not sure how they managed to smoke a beef patty and still keep it medium-rare. I’ll probably roll around in bed for the next few weeks trying to figure it out, but what an awesome meal! This is no joke. When I was having breakfast at another restaurant on Sunday morning... I found myself fantasizing about that smoky Blue Cheese Burger while eating breakfast... unthinkable I n my part... I will drive from Melkbos to Hermanus on a Saturday morning just to have that experience again. Well done to whoever is responsible for this experience... and may I again add a BIG compliment to Chengo. I don’t travel much, and I’ve just met the best and most professional waiter in South Africa... ever!. He’s clearly been doing this for a long time, and it shows... what a guy! Very good food, it’s just not authentic Italian as claimed but the food was amazing, I had the lamb shank pasta - there was far too much oil but it tasted really good and my fiance had the bacon, Bree and fig and it was very good - our waiter Bianca was so friendly and a lovely person

we had high expectations for this resturant considering its high reviews, the menu, and the images of the food. However, after taking our orders we were sitting waiting for our food an upwards of 40 minutes. We had no problem with the waitress, she was very nice and accommodating. We ordered a margarita pizza that tasted like cafeteria reheated microwave pizza, no where close to the quality we were expecting for the price we paid. We ordered a pesto pasta and from the smell and the taste, some ingredient in it was off, it was bitter and did not seem good to eat. We also ordered the lasagna which was the only truly redeeming dish, it was delicious and the portion was large. The schnitzel was good but was not a true schnitzel, it was not flat, thin and the breading isn’t what is usually used for a schnitzel. It resembled more like a fried chicken breast. We had a side of salad to go with the schnitzel and it was clear the quality of the produce they were sourcing (especially the tomatoes) was poor. In addition, the way they served the salad seemed lazy, all vegetables were mandolin sliced (julienned) and it lacked dressing. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting due to its high pricing for the poor quality. The owners should consider renovating the old interior and updating their menu to focus more on quality rather than quantity.

The most stunning scrumptious Pizza in the world I kid you not. Always go to Fabio's when I'm hermanus. This place comes highly recommended.

Hubby and I ordered pizza and we were truly disappointed. The pizza was so flavourless, dry and hard to bite through that the cardboard box it came in would have been easier to eat. The hostess was lovely and general ambiance had an appeal that made us consider an in house meal in the future, however after the poor food we will rather give this restaurant a pass.

We are regular visitors to Italy and this transported us back. The pizza base was exceptional and the pasta sauce was well balanced and extremely tasty!! Crème Brûlée was sublime 🔥🔥🔥🔥 highly recommended!

Don’t bother to visit! Feels like only a certain type of people are welcomed here. Someone please tell me we’re living in the 21st century. What an awkward dinner and the most unwelcomed I’ve ever felt in my life!!!! The dude (posing as some sort of manager) in the front with a striped blue shirt tonight, What a jerk of note! He was very displeased with our patronage and came across passive aggressive and borderline racist! The owner stood at our table but did not say a word to us, however, he ushered in and visited other patrons to ensure their comfort and satisfaction. The food was delicious - thank you to the chefs working hard in the kitchen. Be warned, I was served my ice cream in their worst ramekin (unless chipped and warn out is what they were going for).

We just came back home to Stanford after spending 3 months in Europe and all agree that Rossi’s has the very best pizzas and pastas far and wide! How blessed we are to have such a gem at our doorstep! 🍕 🍝❤️

My girlfriend and I went to Rossi’s on a Saturday night without a reservation. The male host immediately told us there were no tables available and said we could only sit in the bar area on small round tables or at an uncovered street side patio table. At the time, the restaurant had only a few tables filled. We decided to leave but, suspecting racism, we called about ten minutes to make a reservation — and suddenly, tables were available. It was clear to us that the male host’s behavior was discriminatory. As a mixed-race couple, we felt unwelcome. What happened was not just disappointing — it was disgusting. No one should be treated differently because of who they’re with or what they look like.

A true Italian restaurant that serves the best thin crust Pizza. Very frendly staff and excellent service. Highly recommend when snooping around the streets of Hermanus. Filled with history and eateries

The baked cheese cake was truly exceptional - creamy, rich, and utterly divine. The croissant was equally impressive, with layers of flaky pastry that simply melted in my mouth. Both were clearly made with love and care, and it showed in every bite. The dirty chai was a real treat, with the perfect balance of spices and espresso. It was rich, creamy, and utterly delicious.

A delightful stop. Just opposite the cliff path in Hermanus. Outside and inside setting. Little doggie was allowed outside. Very smart inside. The menu is vast, breakfast ends at 11.30. We had brunch. It's called a patteseri, not sure why as the only pastry available was a croissant..it was heavenly though Served with preserve and cheese and butter. Ginger tea and honey on the offer as well. A view of the ocean, added a unique touch.

A bad experience indeed. We entered at 15:25 and were immediately told at the door that they actually close at 4pm. No problem for us, I said, as we only came for a quick coffee and cake. At 15:40 the cleaner started mopping the floor around us, moving her bucket with filthy water all around our table while having a loud conversation with her colleague who was using the table next to us to fold & stack napkins or tablecloths. More people entered from the ocean side and were told by the cleaner that they need to sit somewhere else as she is busy there. Should cleaning and prep not be done after actual business hours? We had good coffee and great carrot cake within a disgusting atmosphere.

This place turned out to be the perfect breakfast place for us. Huge variety of food and freshly pressed juices. The staff were fantastic. Located on marine drive with fab views of the bay. Definitely worth a visit. The owner was a lovely lady with a wealth of information on where to visit in surrounding towns, the whales common to the area, how to get a taxi. She was brilliant!

Great bistro with excellent food. How hard is to make a fry egg? They managed to make it "Perfect". The breakfast was superb, great mushrooms, fry tomatoes and sausage. The bacon was good, perhaps not as crunchy as I like, but excellent nevertheless. Down size ? The coffee. The cappuccino was a coffee with milk, nothing close to a cappuccino l. The coffee as well as the hot chocolate were weak. Prices are in the higher-end, but the service, quality of food and view (just infront of the whale coast) justify it. Recommended.

I love just pure. I’ve been eating their amazing chicken salad since I was a little boy - would definitely recommend. Their breakfasts are also very good. I love the eggs benedict (I add bacon which makes it even more delicious). Just pure has a breathtaking view of the ocean. Their prices are also quite good. I would definitely recommend popping in at the gift shop to treat yourself or a buy a last minute gift.

In Hermanus for only 3 days unfortunately. As a Greek, I looked forward to dinner at Theo's last night which exceeded expectations to such an extent that we went back for lunch today. The food was comparable to the best in Greece, by far the best in South Africa, the decor and ambiance was authentically Greek and the host Theo was ever present. Will definitely be back when we're in Hermanus again. Na pate kala !

We come from Johannesburg and often eat at Greek restaurants. This is by far the best experience we’ve had when it comes to service and food. Absolutely fantastic! We will definitely be back!

Authentic Greek Delight in Hermanus 🇬🇷 A hidden gem in Hermanus! The beef was perfectly seasoned and tender, paired with warm pita and rich, homemade tzatziki. Every bite was packed with authentic Greek flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service made us feel right at home. Highly recommended for a true taste of Greece!

Lovely little Greek restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating...the tables are quite close to each other so it can get a bit tite but suppose it's how Greek restaurants are with lots of people...hosts & waitress etc are very friendly...had the baklava milkshake which was ok...then had the traditional mousaka which was good...comes with some bread...for R175...

The food was incredible. My hubby and I shared the pork chops and roast potatoes and the baby hake. The portions are large and the food absolutely delicious. The sauce for the pork chops was divine and the fish had roasted tomatoes with a pesto which was really tasty. The galactobureko was superb!!

Took a day trip out to Hermanus on a Sunday, was so excited to go to Theo’s for lunch. Got there at 12:25 to a dark and locked up restaurant. Google trading hours as well as trading hours on the door say 12h00-16h00. No note or explanation. Highly frustrating and a bit put off.

First time visiting and truly impressed. Free entry and stalls selling everything from bubbly or beer and oysters for breakfast to all kinds of baked goods and Pizza. There were plenty of hand crafted goods, in SA. The only issue we had was being tempted into drinking a local beer at 11 am.

I love food markets! Food - So many choices The pastry was to die for. Nachos were good not great. Prices of certain food is high (Typical food market) There are affordable food around though and drinks were also surprisingly affordable. The place is busy as every good market is but service is still fast and efficient. There is alot of seating available. Parking is plentiful.

Local fresh produce, loads of interesting foods stalls and music. Seating at tables throughout.Lovely little market, they're going to need more space soon though! The queue for coffee and some food stalls were too long. I bought some beautiful vegetables and some fish dishes from one of the stalls.

Small, casual market with many food stalls. We did a slow walk around and then relaxed on a bench with coffee and a pastry.

A really cozy and vibey country market offering an interesting mix of craft and food stalls and more... There was even an area for kids to sit in and hold puppies in their laps. What a great idea and mutually beneficial to the kids and pups. Lots of parking and easy to find too.

The Sushi was divine… not had such great sushi in a while. The calamari was over done and too crispy. The hake was good. The extras, like roll and sauce is way too expensive. The person behind the counter was really grumpy, maybe he did not just like our family of 8. Meals did not come with any cutlery or serviettes. I asked for some and he gave me three, I asked if I could have more, he gave me one more, I had to say to him that there is eight of us and very unhappily gave me another two. The service from him was extremely poor. When I look at the around the store, and see all the signs on the wall, it is possible that he could be the owner as the signs matches his character. I must admit that we were there for a while eating and noticed that he did not treat everyone that came in the same. We also wanted more sushi and he said that sushi was over. While we were eating we noticed that more sushi was coming thru, not sure what that was about. I don’t believe in off days, if we in business we should always be on top our game. We won’t be there again, will try Lemon and Lime next. Dear John, thank you for you response. I get it that we don’t always get it right. Your response as changed my mind about coming back there. I had a great experience at Hake Away. The fish was fresh and perfectly battered, and the prawns and calamari were just as impressive—tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The chips were crispy and satisfying, and the portions were generous. Service was fast and friendly, and the place was clean and welcoming. One of the best spots for seafood around. I’ll definitely be back!

Does not disappoint- a small takeaway in the heart of Pringle that has the best calamari and fresh fish. Portions are very generous and the service is friendly. The menu is updated regularly so phone ahead to confirm items and pricing.

We popped in to Hake Away On recommendation from our Airbnb host and we were not disappointed. We ordered a small portion of Hake and Chips as well as calamari and it was outstanding. Portion sizes are very big so order a small portions if you don’t eat a lot. The hake was excellent and I can highly recommend that as well as the calamari . Be prepared for a wait in busy season or perhaps place your order telephonically before you go to avoid a wait. The team behind the counter do let you know if they’re busy and how long you will be waiting for. Trust me - it is worth the wait

What a lovely meal! Tasty fresh lightly spiced succulent hake, soft calamari and lots of hand cut slap chips. One portion was enough for 2 small eaters Under new management and no longer my favorite. The fish was similar to my previous experience, the chips, although in abundance were refried and awful awful.

Food was fresh and delicious. For R135 the Hake calamari combo was more than enough for 2 people. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area again.

I am glad I made the journey all the way out to Pearly Beach to visit the Whale Coast Brewing Co. If you are a craft beer enthusiasts it is definitely worth it. They have quite a wide range of different styles on offer, covering everything from Lagers and Blondes to Ales and Stouts. We started off with a tasting and I quickly feel in love with their IPA. After the tasting we grabbed some lunch and we enjoyed everything we tasted from their pizzas and burgers to seafood dishes. If you have young kids, they also have a play area to keep them busy. It however isn't shaded so remember to pack sunscreen and hats. Overall we had a great time and definitely recommend that you add Whale Coast Brewing Co to your bucket list.

Absolutely amazing food! We had the best vegan pizza and burger — both were packed with flavor and made to perfection. The Honey Blond craft beer was truly one of a kind and paired perfectly with the meal. Such a memorable experience in a small town — definitely worth the visit!

An unexpected find! Excellent beers, crafted to perfection, and super tasty food. The rockstar burger and chicken salad were fantastic. Recommended beers are the dark lager, Weiss, and IPA. Definitely pay them a visit when in Pearly Beach. You won't be disappointed!

Honestly, the BEST food and service experience I’ve had in Hermanus hands down. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. The atmosphere is so relaxing, homey and intimate yet professional. They even had entertainment items for the kids at the tables which I’ve never seen before. Also had a high chair for us which is so awesome! Can’t wait to come back.

Unpretentiously delicious food! A lovely Italian inspired restaurant run by a passionate owner. Lovely to sit in the back courtyard of the weather is nice. Starters, pizzas and pasta were all delicious. Onrus is lucky to have this gem.

This restaurant has had loads of media and publicity BUT for all the wrong reasons! It has a new owner and manager who grew up in the wine and restaurant business. He always had a vision to own a small and powerful eatery - and now he has it!! This energy is brought to the reception, creating the customers and right up to making food suggestions. Riposo has created the vibe that Onrus needed after @MilkOnTheBeach. Watch this area! The food was fantastic and authentic Italian dishes. Pizzi and pastas for every member of the family young and old. Stand out dish was the Eggplant Parmigiana - ordered and reorder by a number of our party (6 adults and 6 children). Please do not write off the seafood dishes! One of the best Overstrand wine lists at good prices! Have to mention that I saw loads of well known wine makers and owners having supper there. Food for thought?

Great place to get an excellent pizza. The smoking in the pub was just to much for me, because I'm not a smoker and they allow smoking at the inside dine area or outside dining. But it's the local people and visitors that like smoking, so they need the business it's just bad for a non smoker.

This is very much a local hang out place. We LOVED it! We were welcomed and had a wonderful evening, speaking to the owner and the locals. The play list was a good combination of new, old and Afrikaans songs. The pizza's are served on a thin base and devine. Looking for good company and amazing pizza's, this is the place to visit.

Pleasant atmosphere with good service. Place where many of the local characters meet to share fishing stories. Has a nice under cover area outside where drinks and the occasional braai can be enjoyed.

Wanted to have a take away Garlic pizza on a Thursday afternoon whilst sun was setting after 17:30 Was referred to Afrikanos and thought we'd pop in and out... "big mistake"! Ended up ordering a starter garlic pizza, drinks, a SMOG pizza (Salami, mushrooms, green peppers, enough cheese!) and coffee. What made the visit extra special was the service and conversation with Keith, the manager. Learnt a lot about the crocodiles, the business, the area and never felts rushed. Thank you, Keith and Team!

Totally didn't expect to find crocs in Gansbaai and a lovely restaurant to boot! Perfect spot for visiting after your whales/shark experience, even if you are not overnighting in the area. Food is lovely, crocs are awesome, staff is very friendly and the entire atmosphere of the place is just, well, perfect to unwind. Do bring kids!

This place is really unique. Food in restaurant is great and waiters are nice. But this is only half of what this place can offer. You can see or dive with crocodiles. Guides are really nice and provide you a lot informations about those interesting animals and feed them in front of you. This is really breathtaking experience.

We’ve been to Afrikanos three times, and every visit has been excellent! Great food, fantastic service from the manager Keith and his friendly team, and awesome vegan options — the bobotie and burgers are the best! Love the local art for sale, the kids’ playground, and the crocodile tours right next door — such a unique spot!

So, thus review has taken forever, we decided to have my daughters birthday at Afrikanos. Ofcourse because they ha e a play are and the child friendly atmosphere. However despite being used to being the there the service toped this day. Everyone was taken care of. We had 2 long tables, 1 for the kids and other for the adults. The waitron lady did a stella job. Weldone Kieth and team. We where totally impressed and as always we will see you soon.

We were seated outside and after my partner finished her food, my plate was removed Infront of me while I'm still chewing on food and still eating. Our bill was brought out before we could even decide whether we want something sweet. So I'm taking it that we just got chased away. Service is also so slow. All and all, i will not eat here again even if it's the last place on earth serving food.

Very bad experience. Food not all delivered with no excuse. When I ask about the salad, the manager give us an attitude. Later the waitress come and said "sorry I don't tell you we can't give you the salad". At the end they deducted R18 for the salad. I now understand why there was no other guest at 4.30 on a Friday afternoon at this place.

Ordered a strawberry smoothie but the description did not indicate any other ingredients. Thinking it was a pure strawberry smoothie, when I tasted it, there was clearly banana in. Thankfully, I’m not allergic to it but the manager (not dressed in uniform so not sure of seniority) reassured that there is no other fruit in it. Chatting to the waiter, she said they’re actually not sure since they get the cubes pre-made. I think it’s quite negligent to not understand the ingredients you’re selling. Especially since you don’t know a customers allergies. Their crispy stack was also quite disappointing. Overall, not the best wimpy and could do with kitchen training.

Visiting from Knysna. Very bad experience at Wimpy in Wild Coast mall. Bun on the burger was old and the chips tasted like rubber. They were out of steak knifes also. They really need to go to Wimpy in Knysna and Stillbay for some great tips. What a waste of money

We took my parents to lunch at Wimpy in Whale Coast Mall on 31/01/2020.We were welcomed with a smile and got awesome service from our waitress,Rose,from beginning to end.My parents' 51st wedding anniversary was the following day,and my father's birthday today 04/02,with my mother's birthday following on 15/02.So we took a chance and asked if we could get a birthday surprise for them both.Rose fetched the manager,and when we explained what we had in mind,she agreed with a smile abd my parents received a complimentary ice cream each.Now that is awesome service.Keep it up Wimpy,you will see us again.

Good Day my partner and I visited the store today,we requested a sauce but it was not we requested our waitress Mamela was excellent but the Front of House Monica went past so we called her and explained the situation. She went Back of house and sarcastically shouted exactly what we told her. And when paying she also gave us attitude.

You guys have a prime spot - goldmine. However, your total lack of service is killing it. Was there this morning to buy takeaways, man oh man your staff is at the top notch of unfriendly. Standing alone at the till to place my order - just getting ignored until she finally thought I waited long enough.And then she really did her utmost to make me feel that she is doing me a huuuuuuge favor to take my order. Was there on another occasion - same horrible service. And then you guys close 15:30 in the afternoon. Obviously you guys have a huge investment somewhere else that keep you going and this is just a past-time. So disappointing for a SA classic. Rather drive to Hermanus and experience excellent service and food.

They are more expensive that any other branch i have visited, but the food is amazing, used to drink coffee there a lot but it started to taste worse and the price went up. If you are just passing by this is a nice place to get a cone of ice cream or some coffee if. The food is amazing here and the staff is very nice but i noticed they can slack off a few times too. They temoved the playpark which is sad.

I've been struggling with this wimpy the last few months. I work quite broad and get to my fare share of different wimpys. This is the ONLY wimpy that doesn't want to take my order for takeaway over the phone. Untill I threaten with a bad review then the management usually takes my order. According to the staff this is because of the owner. Very unhappy with this. Next to today. Today we went for a sat down lunch/Brunch. And we stood up and left when they said they had no soft avo. We tried offering to buy our own avo next door in the spar. But the staff said the owner won't allow this. The owner of this Wimpy needs to be more in store and actually make sure he has stock. I will be back to see if I can maybe give you a better review next time. Lovely staff. Management is the problem.

The service was good, because our waiter was respectful and patient with our questions about the menu. However, I would like to point out that when you click the directions option for this location you are directed to the wrong location. On entering, I was greeted by all three waitresses who were all very friendly. I ordered the coffee Milkshake and the Bacon, Avo & Creamcheese burger which I really looked forward to. The avo looked dodgy off the bat and I thought, well, it's not avo season so I can't be too fussy. I took one sliver to taste and had to spit it out. It was bitter as hell! I told her I couldn't eat it, had to remove all the avo. It's those frozen pieces one can buy in bulk. Wimpy - change tactics PLEASE. I've purchased those bags myself and most pieces are flash-frozen when the avo is not even ripe yet. It's never going to be the same as fresh avo. Rather offer guacamole or just offer when in season. Really. What a let down. I enjoyed the burger without it, however, I still paid full price. Also I was unable to give the waitress a tip as they don't get tips when paid via credit card. SHAME ON YOU Wimpy Gansbaai. I had to go draw cash to tip her. I've read both these complaints on here from other patrons and yet you haven't changed it. it's no wonder you have such a low star rating.

For the past 4 visits no tobacco sauce available Raw tomato standard must be fried. Toast was cold butter could not even melt Management not even helpful

Awful experience. The 2 women ‘welcoming’ us at the front door and seated us did everything possible to make us rather leave ( I suspect owners or managers) They reluctantly gave us a table but made sure we know we’re unwelcome. Everything was made clear to be an effort or a problem. I don’t know maybe they’re exhausted at 1pm on a Sunday or maybe rather not have a table of 5, maybe didn’t like our faces… maybe but cut out for the hospitality industry… who knows. Would serve us only pizzas while other smaller tables before and after us had many other options. The Pizzas were surprisingly good though- saw it being made by friendly staff. What a weird experience. Avoid.

Brilliant thin base pizza, with very generous toppings and cooked perfectly in their wood fired pizza ovens. Lovely warm atmosphere. Friendly, attentive wait staff. Extensive wine list. An overall wonderful experience.

Atmosphere The restaurant is also an art gallary, with works hanged all over the walls. There is also a wine room with a bunch of beautifully labelled wines. 3. Food Our lunch was disappointing. 3.1. Stanford burger The bread was dry, and the rest of the burger was fine. It wasn't particularly good or bad, just sub-par 3.2. Pizza The pizza is thin and crispy, but not hard or burnt, which is great. 3.3. Salmon The salad was very light with the salmon, it was very disappointing. The salad also wasn't particularly great either. 3.4. Calamari. The Calamari is quite good, especially with the aioli mayo.

Really a gem of a place. Love the ambiance! The decor is calming. Staff are friendly and efficient. Breakfast was more than enough. Wr had the Standford Breakfast, I think, with choices below. It would be good to put the prices on the add ons. During winter, it may be wise to heat the plates up, and to keep the food warm before serving. Food was coldish but I was hungry! Still enjoyed it though! Coffee was excellent! I will certainly stop there again!

Very friendly place with a warm atmosphere. We ate pizza (nice and thin!) And calamari grilled and fried. Good choice of wines. Family visit to Stanford from the UK. Staff were super attentive with my Dad who had a walking frame and they sorted a lovely table outside in the stoep to make things easier. Thankyou SK.

The place was busy every time we walked past so we decided to go early for breakfast and happy we did. Good quality, fresh ingredients, deliciously prepared, reasonably priced. Easy to see why they are so popular.

The pizza pies are good BUT Do not buy the chicken strips - It's not worth it. For just under R40 I got 3 smallish sized strips & and a tiny off-cut. The strips were over cooked and dry & the sauce doesn't taste nice at all. Sorry for this review, but we were really disappointed. Hope you try better in the future.

We have ordered your Fetaroni countless times since you have opened the store and never had an issue but the one we ordered yesterday was completely inedible between 3 people, whom have medium - high heat tolerance. This was unfortunately a waste of money. There was too much Jalapeno/oil or both. Still giving 5 stars as I've never had an issue for many years and service has always been excellent. Kind Regards

Online checkout didn't work, so we phoned our order in. We were told maximum 1 hour for delivery. After 1h15 we called and were assured driver was on his way. He eventually called us after about 1hr 40. Being a fast food joint we weren't expecting gourmet, but pizzas arrived lukewarm after all the delays. Last time we order here. Please supply your drivers with Google maps and keep patrons informed, we shouldn't have to call repeatedly to follow up.

Roman's Pizza, Corner R43 Good Quality Pizza, Affordable prices, I do quite enjoy the 2 Large Pizza special that they run Occasionally, I once got addicted to their Pizza pie's😂 Really friendly and professional staff, namely - Xola, Tinashe, Lisa & Ncediswa who have been there for year's. Another thing I've noticed about this restaurant is the Owner's, Elna & Neels are sometimes (alot of the time) present, hands on in the kitchen & helping infront and that shows alot of dedication. Will definitely recommend!

KFC Hermanus 2 is a neat building and very well appointed as far this fast food king is concerned. You can place you order on the electronic boards or via the desk, so that’s a nice option. But the wait was too long – in fact so long that I regretted coming in to place an order when I could have had a delivery. But even the delivery guy seemed to be waiting an eternity – and there was no explanation for a wait much longer than the usual KFC standard. It’s such a pity because we all accept that KFC is the most popular fast food in the country but this branch lets the brand down, despite the appearance that the correct infrastructure is in place.

I need to raise a serious concern about this branch, which in my experience is one of the worst-run KFC outlets in the country. During my recent visit: • There was only one lady operating the counter, queues, and Uber Eats orders — visibly stressed and overwhelmed. • Staff seemed completely disorganized, with no coordination between them. • A staff member was running around on a wet floor, creating an obvious safety hazard. • A staff meeting was held at 13h00, during peak lunchtime, leaving customers waiting unnecessarily. • I also observed staff eating and chicken being thrown into plastic bags while customers were waiting to be served. This is not only unprofessional but raises serious questions about hygiene, safety, and the standards associated with the KFC brand. As others have also complained, I’m aware of the standard “please email us” response. I’m not interested in vouchers or freebies — I only want to see this store held accountable and brought up to the standard your brand promises. Please ensure that action is taken to address the management, staffing, and hygiene issues at this outlet.

I am disturbed by what I experienced here on Friday afternoon. Upon my visit, homeless people and vagrants were continuously entering the restaurant, begging to me and other customers for food or money and scratching in the bins inside the restaurant, all in full view of the employees who appeared to be completely unbothered by it. I couldn't believe this was allowed and considered normal. How awful.

Terrible service. I needed something quick and thought I would pop through the drive in to get some dunked wings. The drive in was closed. I walked inside and the place was empty except a lady behind the counter. She smiled at me and I placed an order on the digital kiosk and paid with credit card. So far so good. I walked over to the counter and she informed me that they did not have any of their burgers left. I said that was fine because I had ordered wings. I asked her how long they would be. She went in the back. She came back out and told me they were out of wings. I asked if they were making more. She said she would have to ask the manager and then just stood there for a while. I told her I didn't have time to wait and she went to ask the manager. She came back and said they were going to cook me some wings "in a pot." I asked how long and she said 14 minutes. I told her I could not wait that long and to cancel the order and give me a refund. She said she would have to talk to the manager. She went in the back and talked to another lady and then came back. She said she had asked someone to talk to the manager. About 5 minutes later the manager wandered out and had the cashier give me a refund and I left. They had wasted 15 minutes of my time and I still didn't have any food. They should have notified me when I came in that they were out of most everything. They should have acted promptly when they found out they were out of the wings. The manager should have come out straightaway. Terrible service. This is not the first time I have had bad service here, so I should have known better than to go there. I won't make that mistake again.

Not the type that complain, just send my wife to Sandbaai KFC to treat us for a nice meal in the cold. We live 15km from KFC. Now we are eating sandwiches as the first piece of chicken that I took a bite from was rotten. (Not off, not smelly but rotten) I am not even giving it too mu dogs. Well done KFC Sandbaai...you lost another client...damn...I am so disappointed)

Worst KFC! They must close this KFC Sandbaai immediately! When trying to order two separate orders as our friends wanted to pay their own bill, we were advised that this is not possible and asked if we can pay one account with two different cards, we were advise that that is not possible either. When arriving at the collecting window, we were advised to move our car forward. When I asked the lady why she advised that our food will take some time and she will tell me how far forward I need to move. I did inform her that I don’t want to sit in a dark parking area prefer to stay put. I ordered a box master and upon opening my food at the collection window, I noticed my wrap is half empty with a tiny piece of chicken that is the size of my tiny hash brown, three small pieces of letters, no tomato and one thin slice of cheese. When I asked the manager on duty why is the chicken so small and where is the rest of my food, he advised that that is the size of the meal. He was not willing to offer any solutions or adding the missing items. After a while of dispute and disagree, he offered to refund me if I give him back the food. Our friends were also missing items in their meals. This business is stealing money from hard-working people and ripping them off with false advertising. I do not expect any compensation, however do expect higher authority from the KFC brand to either make massive adjustments to this place or close it down. I do not want to be contacted as your issue is not with me it is your product and your services.

Their food is not fresh lately and they got my order wrong twice in a row. Thus the lower rating. Please work on quality, speed is not worth sacrificing the quality of your product.

We recently had the most delicious pizzas at Cafe Bellissimo’s at Kleinmond Harbour!! The food was delicious and the service was fantastic!! We will definitely be back again! Thanks again!!

Exceptional service from Malcolm, the new owner, and James. The pizzas are of the best that I have ever had and I can only highly recommend Bellisimo! Such a great pity to read the bad reviews from the previous owners, but it is quite amazing to see how Malcolm has transformed Bellisimo into an exceptional business.

Bellisimo Café is a must-visit in Kleinmond! Their nachos are absolutely delicious—crispy, flavorful, and generously topped. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, made even better by the super friendly staff. A special shoutout to James Wood, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. If i could tick a minus star i would. What a terrible and disappointing experience my boys and i had today. Pathetic service, some rude staff members and filthy place. We waited 1hour for our food. Served with a disgusting attitude. We were in the town for the day. Never ever will we set food there again.Is this a space where you serve food????

The staff must change their attitude towards customers. For more than ones I bought 3 kiddy meals but everything they do not have for boys. Another customer at the same time complains but nothing. I wrote a review on hello Peter. A time ago I scan my app. They deduct points for items I did not get. Customers be aware. Stay away.

Tried out the new mcflurry kitkat and the new lemon litchi. I enjoyed both though with the mcfizz the litchi was overpowering. Overall, from Cape Town, the food was fresh, the service was steady and fast, staff friendly 😀

What shouldve been a quick and pleasant experience to go for a sundae, waffle chips for dipping and a nuggies for my pooch, turned into one of the worst experiences ever. Poor service, poor quality of staff, not helpful, no gm on duty, poorly trained staff, can't listen (don't want to), get orders wrong, makes you feel like you are wrong, all round shitty attitudes. Goodness it felt like a visit to home affairs. Get it right!

Had to wait in the parking bay, but understandable as they are quite busy. Easy and professional taking the order, enjoyed our take away.

I specifically ordered 2 meals and the order was processed as 1. I waited in a long queue for the second time to order the missing meal only to be told that I must wait in the parking lot because they hadn't finished making it. To add insult to injury, I had to go home with 4 cups of coke because they ran out of size large cups. Cold food and an hour wait for fast food is just ridiculous.

The people at McDonald's hermanus is very kind and helpfull. They are fast when it comes to they still need to make you stand aside and in 5 to 10 minutes they have your food ready and good to go

We were here late in the evening for a bachelor's party. The locals were well on their way already. It seems like a cool place, but I don't think we were here at a good time. And it was a bachelor's. I can't give a fair review. I'll go back though.
