We dined at Cafe Di Stasio this evening for my husband’s birthday. Such faultless food and service, with an understated elegance. The service was exemplary, the food absolutely exquisite. After having visited Melbourne several times over the years, this was truly an exceptional dining experience.

We celebrated you anniversary at Cafe Di Stasio in St Kilda and it was brilliant. Staff were fantastic, ambiance was perfect and the food was amazing! Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!

We went for a special occasion and had no trouble making a booking using the online system. The restaurant is quite intimate, very dark inside with only small windows and no view of the street at all. Really we could have been anywhere. The menu is authentic Italian and everything we ordered was fabulous! The angel hair pasta on the specials menu had a mushroom ragout sauce and was to die for. We ordered baked oysters, plus the slow cooked lamb and the beef - which was served rare, sliced and truly melted in my mouth. The roasted veggies were also delicious. We shared two desserts and can recommend the tiramisu. It was quite cosy seating wise and with so many hard surfaces (concrete walls and floring) it's a very noisy space. I could barely hear our conversation when the restaurant was full. Nevertheless I would still say it was a romantic environment. Our lunch for two without excessive drinks came to $350 however they do offer a set menu with two courses and a glass of wine for around $39pp. Great place for a special occasion or a truly authentic Italian fine dining experience.

Exceptional food, service and atmosphere A modern Italian fine dining experience from start to finish. A perfect evening. Not cheap but totally worth it.

Remains one of the best restaurants in Melbourne after all these years. Yes, the food is fabulous, but for once, genuinely, the waiting staff make the key difference. Professional and knowledgeable, ask them to help with food and the wine list, you really won't be sorry.

PRICES INCONGRUENT WITH QUALITY AND SERVICE Cafe Di Stasio has the makings of a good restaurant but falls down on both service and quality. We dropped in for lunch on a weekend - set menu of either 3 or 5 courses. We opted for the 3 course - a scallop entree, pasta or chicken main and a slice of tiramisu. $230 all up with water is way over the top for what you get. The waiter was efficient but in that cool, stuffy way that doesn't gel with the Fitzroy al fresco dining vibe (we sat outside). People with mobility issues will struggle if they need to use the bathroom as it is located up a set of narrow stairs. the entrance has a small step to negotiate but otherwise the dining room is all on one level. Al fresco is an obvious option in beachside St Kilda but the outdoor tables feel very exposed to the passing parade on busy Fitzroy Street so I'd recommend indoor dining. As a lunch destination I think you would be better trying one of the numerous restaurants actually on the foreshore - cheaper and more menu options. If you are after a serious evening dining experience its probably an OK option. Street parking is fairly fierce but the tram line runs right past the door.

Amazing Italian food done right. No fuss, just the traditional way. Probably the closest you can get to Italy now due to Covid travel restrictions! However, this place is not your everyday eatery. The price is a bit steep, so it's definitely a place to go to for a special occasion. Not to mention, service was also great.

A pleasant surprise to discover such a beautiful underground atmosphere. The dishes were amazing, and the prices are reasonable, but definitely fair for the quality. The soft shell crab curry is a must-try. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here 😋

We went for their Sunday’s special - Thai Seafood Feast! The whole feast was $169 and actually fed us 6 pretty well! Portion was generous and every dish was fresh, flavourful and spicy too (highly recommend to go mild) 😮‍💨🤣 The dishes were served pretty quick too! 💯 We ordered some add ons because we wanted to eat everything 😂😂😂 Personally love their steam coconut rice balls! It was a perfect sweet finish to the feast!

I added the picture of the mango sticky rice really looks pleasing i can say that Dodee is a highly recommended Thai spot! The servings are generous, the prices are affordable, and the flavors are amazing. Tucked away in a busy Melbourne laneway, it’s a hidden gem. We loved enjoying the pork bone soup with our hands, and the sticky rice was absolutely delicious too, 🫶🏻

We ordered pineapple fried rice and basil chicken. The food was pretty good but with minor disappointment with one piece of uncooked chicken in fried rice. The manager came and apologised with the incident by giving us voucher for dine in second time. We went back for second time with the voucher and the dinner was delicious. The manager has given us the free sticky mango rice too. I would say the service is really professional and excellent.

We had the pad thai which was the best one I’ve ever had. Very saucy with a nice tang from the lemon. The creamy tomyum soup with prawns was very flavourful. Lots of spices and prawns and the soup was very creamy and tangy. It’s best to share the soup as it could be too much for one person. Tip: add rice or noodles as the soup can be a bit too salty by itself.

Been to this place 10 years ago. Food and restaurant have not changed a lot. Specialized in Thai food. A great variety of dishes. But I feel like this place needs more innovation to keep up with the new Thai restaurants in the CBD. Restaurant in the underground. Have robots to deliver food to your table. Many tables so you can go alone or in large groups. Prices are not too high. Portions are average.

When we got there thete was already a queue of people so we were excited to try it. Unfortunately the food was very average.I think our best dish was the prawns crackers. Portions were very small for the cost. The sticky rice was awful - it was overcooked and dry And came in a plastic packet - the worst sticky hice i have ever had

Well found this lovely gem after seeing a show at the National Theatre. A restaurant which caters for allergies. An example to other eatery owners. They even have an allergy sheet to guide you on your culinary experience. Nice eatery with helpful staff.

Nothing fancy Mexican food. Delicious hand made salsas for sure. The tacos are 5” and seem a bit expensive for the creativity involved: I sure appreciated alternate vegetarian fillings, that’s a nice touch. Good solid place, interesting decor, easy to get into for this particular Saturday lunch. A block from the boardwalk.

The food didn't blow me away but sufficed. We ordered a couple of tacos and some ceviche. The tacos were a bit cold, but the flavours were okay. We didnt enjoy the barbacoa lamb variant (very dry). But the carne asada and scallop was decent. The ceviche was a real let down for its price, the portion was quite small. The whole dish was also bitter which was quite unpleasant and the actual deal breaker for me. Also the tables near us were extremely rowdy and loud, so we left early. The waitress was very lovely, and attentive, the only good part of our experience.

If you are visiting this Restaurant in the middle ( or either side) of Melbourne’s Cold Winter season; it’s great to know that you can sit inside or outside with the option of complimentary blankets to wrap around you, which were great whilst sitting outside under cover this time. After noticing some others sitting outside with blankets & asking about them, I was told to go & get them myself. Noticing an amazing choice of ‘Chilli Hot Chocolate’ $10.00, I imagined the chilli warming up my throat with the dark chocolate at the same time, gliding down my throat… perfect in Winter! Notice: You have no choice of Milk- only Animal F/C Milk: No Soy/Almond or Oat Milk offered. Upon receiving the Chilli Dark Chocolate hot drink, I was really disappointed that there was ‘No Chilli’ flavour at all…. even as stated re the ‘sprinkle on top of chilli’. It would have been ideal to have the chilli infused through the milk & dark chocolate- for a slight ‘kick of warmth’. Just no Chilli flavour at all. Therefore, I would say that they need to improve their ‘Recipe’. I mentioned to a staff member, that I could not taste any Chilli,… he didn’t offer any solutions & didn’t care. After this, I devoured the ‘Taco-No-Taco’ $25.00 -with pulled Lamb. It was a small serving, however, quality ingredients & for once ‘no Rice’ at all, which is great if you are cutting down on ‘Carbs’. The lamb in the ‘Taco-No-Taco’ was only ‘just warm’- it needed to be served hotter. Overall, a cute place to eat Mexican, with a warm fire if you can get a booking inside. I will return in future, but not having a ‘Soy Milk’ option will now prevent me from ordering the Hot Chocolate. As I don’t drink Coffee, I’m not sure ‘what other hot drink’ I would be able to order re non alcoholic. Asked about ‘Mulled Red Wine’ but they don’t have any. Enjoy this Restaurant , if you’re lucky to find a park around St.Kilda- either paid or unpaid parking. Allow some ‘extra time’ for this. Toilets need ‘Updating’ & cleaning a bit more often.

Radio Mexico is a brilliant Mexican restaurant with an awesome vibe, great service and food that will make you feel good inside. The selection of tacos is amazing and all of them are so fresh with great flavour combinations that will have you wanting to try them all. The pork belly with crackle and pineapple salsa was fun and delicious. Great drinks selection too and the free guacamole and salsa to start with corn chips highlights the quality of food to come. Good seating options inside and out too. Definitely will be back to sample more and highly recommend

The food was pricy, which isn't uncommon, but the portion sizes were tiny. If this had been presented as a very fancy restaurant the value would have made sense, but I have dined much better for the same price elsewhere. The food itself also tasted rather mediocre more akin to GyG, but the value proposition there is much better. The enchiladas a main dish were no bigger than the starter and tasted underwhelming compared to the slaw. However what bothered us more than anything was the service. Pushing us to order more (which we were very reluctant to do since the price was so high) and constantly asking us whether we wanted more food. Also trying to push desert on us after we had finished mains. Overall a very negative experience.

Incredible burst of flavour, great cocktails, and a food menu were you find it hard to stop trying new things. If you're into Mexican cuisine and want a challenge for the best in Melbourne, here you go. Definitely worth a repeat and 2 thumbs up

We ordered the all in set menu, which was such a great choice. It was quite pricey, but for the flavours and experience it was worth it for the special occasion. The staff were very accomodating, friendly, and on the ball with speed and a great balance of personal space and check-ins. Specifically, the sticky eggplant dish was outstanding (we ordered a half serve as it was not on the set menu). Very filling and enjoyable, would return for other special occasions in the future!!

It was a Monday night which is one of their quieter evenings. This suited us. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. Complimentary drinks were given to each of us. Nice touch. The atmosphere was warm, casual and inviting. The food was excellent. The outstanding dishes were the Kingfish sashimi and Sticky eggplant. The Striploin pared with the Broccolini was also excellent. The Salmon tartare was nice but found that it needed a bit more punch. The delivery of the food was spaced out nicely. We sat at the bar and engaged with lovely Olly, the bartender. James, our server, was engaging, attentive and very helpful in describing the dishes. The boys organised a complementary dessert with a sparkler in it, ‘Strawberry Snow’. Gosh! It was so good. An explosion of freshness in your mouth. A must try. James and Olly, you do the restaurant credit. Great service. A most enjoyable evening and would definitely recommend this place.

I honestly can’t even count how many times I’ve been here. Definitely my top restaurant in Melbie ❤️❤️ I come at least 1–2 times a month and always recommend it to friends. My absolute faves are the prawn katsu and the rainbowl bowl. The prawn katsu takes me back to eating shrimp burgers in Japan, but here they use yuzu mayo – so refreshing!!! The rainbowl (if I’m not mistaken) is a mix of kingfish, tuna, and salmon with a yuzu ponzu dressing. Super fresh and so YUM!! Lately, I’ve been loving their chocolate fondant with miso caramel ice cream. It’s such a simple dessert, but it brings back childhood memories for me. Every dish I’ve ordered here feels nostalgic in some way, and I’m so glad Tokyo Tina always delivers that experience. 🫶

Amazing Japanese fusion restaurant in Melbourne! The dishes were creative and beautifully presented. Every bite was full of flavor. The atmosphere was modern and cozy, and the staff were super friendly. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city!

The service here was friendly and patient. All of the dishes were excellent however the duck udon lacked the rich flavour profile that the other dishes presented. The passion fruit margarita was not great for the price. I would highly recommend the rainbow rice bowl as it was fresh and delicious! The duck bao had plenty of meat and was filling.

I first visited Tokyo Tina about 7 years ago—and I’ve been returning ever since. After nearly a decade on Chapel Street, it’s clear why this spot continues to thrive. The food, the energy, the interiors… everything is consistently on point. The interiors perfectly complement the playful, street-style Japanese menu. A bold shopfront covered in peeling manga posters sets the tone. Inside, raw timber battens, inky murals of Tokyo traffic, and strings of glowing globes create a space that feels like a moody laneway behind an anime store. Even the bar section, with its crumbling walls adds to the gritty-cool aesthetic—designed by Samantha Eades & Wendy Bergman. What really sets Tokyo Tina apart though is the service. Staff are warm, attentive and genuinely care—checking in often but never intrusively. It’s that rare kind of hospitality that makes you feel looked after from the moment you walk in. The food has remained consistently excellent over the years. We ordered the spiced edamame, kingfish sashimi, crispy sticky eggplant, karaage chicken, prawn katsu milk buns, and miso baked cauliflower—all absolutely spot on. I’d order every single one again without hesitation. Whether you’re planning an intimate dinner or a big group catch-up, Tokyo Tina is always a good idea. I’m eyeing off their Bingo Academy next (every Saturday!)—it sounds like such a fun night

Had such a lovely meal here with a friend recently! The food was absolutely delicious – especially the eggplant dish, which was a standout. The cocktails were fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. Service was also excellent – our server was super lovely and made us feel really welcome.

This spot always come out as recommended place for a late night meal. Came here on a Saturday and luckily wasn't packed. They serve a whole bunch of meat and the place is nice and vibey. We got the burger and the special of the day which was the french dip. The burger was decent, nothing special, but done right. The french dip is what I enjoyed. The meat was nice and tender and the jus gave it more depth. I enjoyed our meal here and would recommend for late night cravings. It's a bit pricey for the serving size tho.

Enjoyed the experience here. Coeliac safe gluten free options, as long as you don’t have any of the gf bread options. Very fresh tasty Greek salad, lovely chips, friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Generous portions for a very reasonable price. Recommend.

The place is quite basic and lacks ambiance. The food is simple—though I’ll highlight the pastrami sandwich, which was tasty. However, the steak & eggs were disappointing, especially for a meat-focused venue; the dish was underwhelming and poorly presented. For the same price, you can find better options elsewhere easily. It’s fine for a quick snack or casual bite with low expectations or for a meal after a big night out, as mentioned in most reviews. Service is fast and friendly, but there are no restrooms—you need to use the pub next door. It’s clear most regulars are local workers grabbing a simple meal. I ended up here by chance and wouldn’t return or recommend it. At night, it turns into a bar with tapas until 1 a.m., but I’ll leave my comments there.

Tried this place with my boys on the way to the footy Friday night. Was easy to find a seat as we were early. Son had the steak sandwich and the rest of us had the cheeseburger with bacon. Both said was the best they had ever eaten. Chips were brilliant as well. Will definitely be back.

This was my son’s recommendation, after I told him there was nowhere good to eat lunch in the city and that I was heading to Fitzroy for a burger. What a great diner, and what a great recommendation! This simple, clean and vibrant diner brings quick and efficient service, a great menu and fantastic food. I had the simplest item on the menu, the hamburger (no risks taken here). It was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly, full of flavour and with an excellent bun. Every bite was a joy. Mostly shred counter seating inside, but well suited to the venue. Plenty of outdoor dining on the picturesque’Paris’ end of Bourke St. well worth a visit.

Dear Reader, for the love of god, go here! I cannot enough express my emphatic recommendation. I came here late at night with my girlfriend, hoping for a late night snack. Each bite was incomparable. It was a million org*sms. It was a look into the future.  It was like biting in the sun and a million golden rays comforting the world. It was only a cheeseburger and I will be dreaming about this for years to come. Godspeed.

Fantastic late night dinner. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable. I accidentally stacked my chips but they replaced and I was very grateful. Great atmosphere and the food was tremendous. Blood sausage devilled egg roll was sublime!

Warm and welcoming. Made me consider changing from unimelb to rmit. Australian Chinese hospitality is fantastic. No fear of ordering warm swee corn porridge with whipped egg drop accidentally. Service was happy and quick. Food was spicy and clean. Penny pinchers take no protein, whilst junkies will get away with a less than twenty dollar meal. Peanut, scallion, chilli, tender noodle, soup is their signature. Table served.

Not sure what I was expecting. We arrive around 45 minutes before closure. Not a fancy restaurant more of a casual lunch spot. But noodles were great. I chose the standard noodles and it really hit the spot, it was simple and the noodle texture was perfect. Friendly staff and the noodles came super quick! Definitely if you’re in the neighbourhood, stop by!

Our absolute favourite local gem for authentic Chong Qing noodles in Melbourne! The broth always hits the spot and is perfect for a cold winter night. Noodles are fresh and springy, very satisfying to eat. The signature noodles can be made vegetarian and is just as tasty and hearty as the meat version. Always a satisfying and happy time eating at Hi Chong Qing, would recommend it to everyone and anyone!

The best soup I ever try in my entire life! Was our first time , and we are 2 people , we try the spicy beef and the signature and I put beef as well (not spicy is the photo one). Totally 100/100🤗 we spend 20 dollars each

The perfect bowl of authentic hearty Chinese beef noodles - as soon as you walk in you can tell the owners know their stuff!

A place with a simple menu, yet an amazing bowl of noodle goodness!! Known for serving wheat flour noodles over broth with garlic, ginger, coriander, spring onion, soy, chilli, and Sichuan peppercorns. We ordered the Meat noodles, and we have to say that the meat cuts were juicy and cooked to perfection!! I loved the experience and would love to come back again for more noodles!

Simply amazing noodles in Melbourne. This place is definitely going in my top 3 noodle places. Cheap, delicious, warming and you can order for vegetarians. I had the signature noodles vegetarian version with added Tofu and egg. Staff are nice and helpful. I’ll be coming back to this place again and again.

The vegan grill set menu was fantastic. Each dish came out quick, with hardly any wait between courses, and every plate was just as good as the last. Staff were great too, clearing up promptly after each course without rushing us. I highly recommend taking a partner or a friend along, it's the perfect way to enjoy a night of outstanding vegan food together.

I had a wonderful experience at Rufio! As a coeliac, it is always such a relief to go to a restaurant that caters to us. The food and the drinks were fantastic and so tasty! The staff made me feel very welcome and were so friendly! Could not fault this establishment and would definitely come again

What an amazing experience. The food was incredible. We had the vegan set menu and we were soo satisfied. Every dish on the set menu was delicious and there was a lot of variety between dishes. The staff were so accommodating to us since we had to finish dining within an hour as we were going to a show. They brought the food out quickly and were so friendly and professional. I cannot wait to dine here again!

Where to even begin? That was the worse set menu in Melbourne my partner and I have ever had. Lamb that was tough and undercooked, chips that aren’t crispy, everything severely under seasoned, beef brisket that tasted warmed up in the microwave and then slapped on a plate to look pretty (mind you this is what was supposed to replace the failed lamb dish). Oh man, and the flatiron steak? Under seasoned and served with a cold sauce that had the potency and flavour profile of Vegemite times 50. It’s the first steak we’ve never finished and I refuse to believe anybody tasted that steak sauce and thought it was okay to send out. Calamari? Another bland experience but hey, they added squid ink to their aoili to look the part I guess. We’ve never left a restaurant that charges casual fine dining prices so disappointed. What seemed like a cute venue to eat a curated menu at online turned into feeling like we were sat in our friends patio with poor lighting as they whipped up food they they’ve never made before. What looked like pretty plating was really chefs trying to put lipstick on a pig. The only saving grace was the dessert though our mood was already ruined by that point so not even that got eaten fully. The waitress with pink hair was kind and apologetic though the manager didn’t have much to say other than they hope we give them another try in the future. Another try? I’m convinced it’s current rating here on Google is botted after the awful experience we had. Anyways, avoid at all costs to be honest. Worse set menu / chef menu in Melbourne.

The food was absolutely fabulous, every dish was bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. From the starters to the main course, everything was on point. The drinks selection was also fantastic, with great cocktails and wines that paired perfectly with the meal. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!

Everything looked beautiful on the plate, but the taste just didn’t follow through. All the small entrees appeared promising, yet the flavors were surprisingly flat. The empanadas were a big disappointment: chewy, lacking any real taste, and left us wondering if they had been frozen. Our curiosity was high with the duck sausage, but it didn’t even taste like duck. For the quite expensive price, you expect more than just a pretty plate. Quantity takes over quality here.

Rufio is becoming our new local. Perfect for coeliacs as the entire menu is gluten free. We love steak night and the new Sunday Roast.

The food was really, really good, it tasted amazing, and looked really nice. The portions are a bit small though, for the price. Staff are kind and friendly, and drinks come out really fast. We got seated pretty quickly. The atmosphere is sooo nice! The music isn't too loud either.

Recommended by local, apparently they said St Ali has the best coffee in town, so I come and try it out. They have really lots of variety of beans and brewing, I tried their standard and daily single origin, well, thats really good 😊 Food are very special as well, my favorite is the Barramundi Wings (fish with sweet and spicy source), a bit of thai flavor which is a surprise in view of this is a Coffee place. But i really love it, very fresh fish as well. Turkish Egg and Fluffy pancakes are good as well.

St. Ali coffee roasters was recommended as their favorite Melbourne cafe for me to visit on my trip to Melbourne. They roast their own coffee which is absolutely 10/10. The chili scramble was amazing the service was exceptional. Highly recommend to all. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales

We came here for a quick coffee and it did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and well informed of the speciality drinks. We got ‘espresso flight’ and ‘strawberry cloud’. They were great. My only complaint and reason to not come back is the prices. My drink was $16 alone. Not very affordable, especially in this economy!

St Ali...now equally #1 my favourite in Melbourne. Awesome coffee..(I had the house blend), great atmosphere, friendly staff. Short walk from Southbank. Solid 8.75/10 The food also looked great although I didn't purchase any. Worth the visy.🙂👍🏼☕️

The blueberry lemon pie coffee was STUNNING! We had the polenta, salmon bagel, scrambled eggs and a pour over but the blueberry lemon pie drink stole the show! It sounds like a kiddy dessert beverage but it's so complex and delicately crafted - the coffee whip was so delicious to both an espresso lover and a non-coffee drinker present that we had to get another one to go! Saddened that it doesn't seem to be on the menu at the other outlets - but we'll definitely travel out here the next time we fly into Melbourne just to savour this flavour again. Service was great too!!

The experience was both educational and enjoyable, offering deep insight into the artistry and precision behind specialty coffee. The team’s passion and expertise were evident in every detail; from the roasting process to the guided tasting. Each cup revealed unique notes and aromas, reflecting the global diversity and craftsmanship that make coffee such a fascinating beverage. It was an awesome experience that reminded me how excellence often lies in the details, and how curiosity can transform something as simple as a cup of coffee into a world of discovery.

Have a weakness for Malaysian food and decided to check Hawker Hall. The ambience and service was exceptional. The Rendang and the Bombe Alaska stood out while the rest was okay. The service was truly good and made the place.

It was a great experience with beautiful food and very welcoming service and atmosphere. It was on sat and the live DJ on and music was great ! It’s was the curry beef Rendang to make us to come back to dine in this time. We didn’t order much of the snacks selection except the salt and pepper calamari yummy. For the drink we orders two beautiful cocktails the classic margarita, but didn’t have any Ganish, which is a little bit sad but with the whiskey sour it was bang on - we love it . Overall, the staff are very friendly that come and check with us with our meal and how it going, which is very good! And it was a fantastic night out with friends or a group of friends. They have lots of beautiful sitting section. One last thing it is the Nasi Goreng fried rice is a little bit spicy. They should ask us that. Can we eat spicy or not and to make sure not too spicy for other customers preference.That’s all.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our 7th anniversary, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations. We chose the set menu and spent around $140 AUD for shared dishes. From the first bite, my partner mentioned the food was too salty, but I wanted to give the next dishes a chance. Sadly, the following plates were just as heavily seasoned — overwhelmingly salty and difficult to enjoy. We even had to return some because they were inedible. The dessert portion was also quite small for sharing. In the end, we left unsatisfied and had to go to Yo Chi. Disappointed, especially considering it was a special night for us.

Stand out dishes include their smashed cucumbers, salt & pepper flathead and Dan Dan noodles! Hawker style restaurant in the heart of Windsor Melbourne, opposite Mr Miyagi and next to Tombo Den, lots of seating inside, lively and buzzing restaurant. Seating in high chairs and booths, Unfortunately the food was average in comparison to some other hawker style restaurants with Malaysian and Singaporean food.

Small but vibrant market. Parking is terrible so catch the tram or ride your bikes. Decent deli, good mix of street food at various stalls. Coffee is great. Live music is a bonus. It is not as good as South Melbourne market however still offering an enjoyable experience

If you love to cook and appreciate good quality ingredients, this is a must visit. Gourmet produce and everything looks so fresh and beautifully displayed. We bought some really good quality steak here. Prices are slightly higher, especially for vegetables, though I am not too familiar with local pricing. It is not touristy and not crowded. We visited on a weekday around 3pm. Initially we planned to have lunch here, but our earlier plans ran late, so we just bought some ingredients to cook dinner instead. Would love to return and spend more time here if I get the chance.

Prahran market is a well known locals market that has changed so much over the years. These days, open 5 days and all weekend, you can find well priced produce and fresh meats here along with fabulous locally made fresh ingredients. Coffee here is reasonably priced and its a great place to have a quick bite, catch up with some friends and even have a tipple or two.

One of the best markets in town!! As a chef, I always find products from all over the world, from america, europe or asia, also fresh veggies from local farmers and good food spots. It is not too crowded or too touristy like the others in Mlb 🤩

Hakata Gensuke Tonkotsu Ramen, located on Russell Street, is a cozy and vibrant Japanese restaurant best known for its rich, creamy tonkotsu pork broth and handcrafted ramen noodles, made with a secret recipe straight from Hakata, Japan. Though it’s a small place, it’s efficiently organized with counter-side seating and compact tables. One of the unique highlights is how the staff periodically chant in unison from the kitchen — a beautiful display of their lively culture that adds to the authentic experience. The restaurant operates on a walk-in only basis, and it's common to see a queue outside — but trust me, it’s worth every second of the wait. As Indian food lovers craving spice, we opted for the God Fire and Black Fire Ramen — both flavorful, spicy, and deeply satisfying. (You can even customize the spice level!) The combination of piping hot broth, perfectly cooked ramen noodles, tender pork slices, and flavorful condiments made for an unforgettable meal. We also tried the pork-filled Gyoza, which paired wonderfully with their citrus soy dipping sauce (almost like a sushi soy dip). To accompany our meal, we went with canned green tea and orange juice — refreshing choices that balanced the spice well. The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, even taking the time amidst in the busy environment to tell us more about their food and traditions when we showed interest. They truly made the experience feel special — and we even got a photo to remember the night! If you're in Melbourne and want to taste the best ramen in town, Hakata Gensuke is a must-visit. There are plenty of other tempting dishes on the menu too, so we’re definitely going back! PS: They are predominantly a pork-based on their menu.

I visited Hakata Gensuke Tonkotsu Ramen and had a really great experience. We were served by Aoba, who was incredibly sweet and welcoming — he greeted us with a big smile. His warm service really stood out and set the tone for the meal. For the food, we ordered two different ramen dishes: the Black Tonkotsu and the Godfire Plus. At first glance, the Black Tonkotsu doesn’t look very appetizing because of its dark, almost black broth, but it was absolutely delicious. The broth was packed with flavor, very rich and garlicky, so I’d recommend it especially for garlic lovers. The bowl came with two big slices of pork, which were great, though in hindsight I think adding extra meat would have made it even better. The Godfire Plus, on the other hand, had a vibrant red broth and brought the spice. It was bold, flavorful, and had just the right kick without overpowering the taste. Both bowls were satisfying in their own ways, and I’d happily recommend trying them depending on your flavor preference. Overall, between Aoba’s excellent service and the delicious ramen, Hakata Gensuke is definitely worth a visit.

This place has great ramen! I tried the black ramen the upgraded version and it’s a good amount of pork if you want more, taste delicious! My friends tried the spicy tonkotsu levels 2 and it’s so hot! 🥵 just for peopl with high tolerance to spicy 🌶️, the chicken balls are a great option!

This was one of the first ramen I ever had. Returning many years, and hundreds of bowls later, this review pains me. Perhaps it’s nostalgia, but I find it hard to describe this as anything other than dull. Not bad. Just dull. It is smooth, well seasoned, and served with generous pork portions, but it’s not interesting. The black garlic is extremely subtle, and the toppings do nothing other than add a little texture. The ramen game has evolved and I’m just not sure where this fits in. Maybe it’s the bowl you could eat 3 times a week, but it’s not the bowl I would crave, line up for, or go out of my way to find.

Had the classic Tonkotsu Ramen at Hakata Genshuku and it really reminded me of the bowls I had in Fukuoka — rich, deep pork bone flavor in the broth and noodles cooked to that perfect firm texture I love. The only downside was that the chashu felt a bit cold and had a slight odor, but aside from that, the balance of flavors was excellent. Definitely a place I’d like to come back to and try again.

You must try the signature tsukemen, for me it's the best menu here. The texture of the tsukemen noodle is perfect, chewy but not hard. The dipping soup, tasty. The pork, oh man, very tender and juicy. If you like spicy ramen, they have the fire god ramen, they have spicy level and even level 1 is hot enough. This place is alway busy, especially during dinner time, please bring your patience with you because for sure you have to wait...

Food was great! My friend and I really enjoyed the clear soup noodles and the dry noodles. They look simple but were full of flavours. What’s worth mentioning is their impeccable service. We wanted to ask about the menu and this guy carrying a stack of many dim sum steamers tall enough to block his view stopped to help us. Very impressed by their dedication to be attentive to customers.

Pretty good restaurant overall with a fair price. I enjoyed the fried rice which was eggy (I like that) 🍚 and the xiao long bao with really nice soup and thin skin 🥟. The sweet and sour chicken was a bit too sweet for me, but it wasn’t bad and it aas crispy. The beans 🫛 w minced pork were mid (tasteless beans, and the pork was veeerry salty - didn’t balance well). Perhaps stick to their rice/noodle dishes and dumplings. Service was good with food coming out very quickly.

Ding Tai Fung Melbourne has exceeded my expectation for my dining experience. The servers were very kind, attentive and happy to serve. The food is great and so tasty. Our favourite is the Crispy Prawn with Mayonnaise & Pineapple. We even bought 2 to take home. The ambience was really nice as well. The Toilet is clean and well maintained. Over all, you deserve a 10-10! We will definitely be back☺️

Great place to have Xiao Long Bao, the price is on the higher side, but the service is quite nice. They are not as busy as they used to be, so on weekday lunch time, we didn’t need to make a reservation. Food wise: 👍🏼 Xiao Long Bao (juicy) 👍🏼 Spicy shrimp and pork wonton (really tasty chilli sauce) 👍🏼Crumbed chicken fillet (really good asian fired chicken flavour, maybe one of the best) 👍🏼 Taiwanese Fried Chicken Bao (soft bun, crispy chicken, the coleslaw is fine) 😐 Shrimp & Pork Shao Mai (nothing special) ❌ Chinese Broccoli with garlic (theres no sauce ?) ❌ Pan Fried Chicken Mushroom Pot Stickers (is not crispy at all) ❌ Wagyu Beef & Vegetable Spring Roll (can’t taste the wagyu at all) We will definitely come back to try their other dishes.

Pretty spacious dining place. Their steam dumplings are pretty good. Comes with different meat filling options. My favourite is the pork dumplings. So juicy and tender. We also had chicken chilli, egg fried rice and sweet and sour chicken and it wasn't bad. So many option in the menu. Will definitely go back to try more. Price was reasonable. Service was fast and friendly beside the slow robots taking you to the table was a bit frustrating. Overall, pretty happy with the food

My first time Melbourne Ding Tai Feng, they taste gorgeous, super thick soup for the Xiao Long Bao. the service was pretty cool you getting lead to your seat from one server to the other which is a little bit weird for me. the fried rice is their specialty and it does taste good, and serves really fast. the dim sum are the usual shape, taste good, so no complain.

Let me tell you about my trip to Din Tai Fung in Melbourne, Victoria. Now, I'd heard the hype about this dumpling place for ages, so my expectations were definitely high. Walking in, the whole vibe was modern and chic, with this open kitchen where you could see the chefs meticulously folding those famous xiao long bao. It felt a bit on the busy side, but the energy was good. We ordered a steamer basket of their classic pork dumplings, of course. And let me tell you, the first bite lived up to all the praise! The soup inside was this burst of flavorful broth, and the pork filling was perfectly seasoned. It was like a little explosion of deliciousness in my mouth. We also tried the crumbed chicken fillet, which was surprisingly light and crispy on the outside, and juicy and tender on the inside. Overall, Din Tai Fung was a great experience. The food was undeniably delicious, the service was efficient, and the atmosphere was buzzy. It's definitely not the cheapest place for dumplings, but the quality and experience definitely justify the price tag. If you're looking for a taste of some seriously good Shanghainese cuisine, I highly recommend checking it out!

After exploring several Thai restaurants in Melbourne, I always find myself returning to Jinda—it's my go-to spot! The restaurant serves authentic and delicious Thai cuisine, complemented by wonderful, friendly, and efficient staff (especially M&B). I can’t recommend it enough! I often hear Thai-speaking customers sitting nearby, which speaks volumes. My favorites are the duck curry, Tom Yum noodles, and boat noodles (the soup noodles are served at lunch). I can’t even name them all—there are just too many! 😃🤤

Crispy tofu was 5 or pieces of tofu for $15! Overpriced, small portions, and not as tasty as hoped. Perhaps we ordered the wrong things but overall disappointed

Very cool place to eat and the burgers were absolutely delicious. The fries with gravy and cheese was a big hit for us as well. The staff were all friendly and super helpful when it came to recommendations. We will definitely return again when in the area.

I don’t think this place needs any more reviews—it’s already so popular! But I just have to give it a shout-out because it’s by far the best burger I’ve ever eaten. We ordered the Sidecar (a seasonal special, I believe), corn ribs, a vanilla milkshake, and the Oklahoma fried onion cheeseburger. The flavors in both burgers were amazing—juicy, tender, and the bun was delicious too! We wiped out everything. Everything was just perfect (the food, the milkshake, service was fast and friendly) ~!

The infamous POTATO CAKE SMASH BURGER - honestly, my taste buds are still in therapy from the experience. Layers of crispy potato cake, juicy beef, molten cheese... it's not just a burger, it's a religious awakening. And just when I thought life couldn't peak any higher - along came the OKLAHOMA FRIED ONION CHEESEBURGER, dripping with flavour. MAC & CHEESE BITES? Really lovely service, the concept was really cool being in a train car although it was a little bit small but seating was pleasant. Food is yummy but portions were a bit small. Walking up the five flights of stairs to get to the upstairs seating a little bit of a workout but for the atmosphere of the place was chill. Overall a yummy and good experience

A place you have to go to once, food was really good, can't say the meat patty was top notch but it was very good. Chicken was great, chips, potato cakes, dim sims all great. The overall though was good American Diner type food. The kitchen did very well, staff were good but not excellent. Yes go once take some photos not sure you would go twice. Big mark down was the 6 flights of stairs yep that was not needed, apparently the lift is unreliable...hey guys if you can get three train carriages to the roof you can get the lift overhauled.

Great Indian street food! We got a samosa chaat and butter chicken. The curry was not too sweet or greasy, and it came with a big serving of rice and naan. The samosa chaat was very filling and tasty.

Thoroughly enjoyed my food at this restaurant. I went with a friend and we ordered the Chaat platter and mix thali and loved everything. The food is bursting with flavour and the portion sizes were perfect. Great Indian food and hard to fault. Let’s begin with the ambience. The restaurant is clean and well maintained albeit a bit cramped. The walls are decorated with retro style movie posters and the chairs got the common Indian brand name logos ranging from Maruthi cars to Hawkins pressure cooker. They have medium sized tables and also provide bar style seating. Moving on to service, the staff is friendly and helpful. I sometimes like to throw in a “please select a dish for me” at the staff and I’m glad to report that I was happy with the choices made on my behalf. Also worth mentioning that they have a booking system in place, both online and over the phone, if suggest using the online portal as sometimes phone bookings could get messed up. Coming to food, to keep it simple it’s delicious. We got samosa chats for entree and it was a blast. The potatoes were not mashed to oblivion and had a nice bite to it. Chole Bhature is definitely the star of the show when it comes to mains. The bread is fluffy and not too oily and the chickpeas cooked to perfection. Thali meals were not so bad either, but probably have had better, that’s not to say it was bad. Definitely a good experience and worth coming back for.

Always wondering what is proper nasi lemak taste like,and we decided to give it a try. But this one is terible, everything is cold, the bilis have thorns, the egg cold. I hope they change the supervisor or the quality control person. Next we have gadogado and i think Better have an observation for the Gadogado first. Its not gadogado at all. Waste of money :(

Stumbled past here before watching a show at Palaris Theatre and no regrets — food was brought out fast, warm, homey, flavourful, comforting and delicious. Really enjoyed the tasty bowl of noodles and fried rice. Decently priced considering the area and decent portion size. Only concern was that it’s a little cramped in there though with the plant decoration in the way of the diners, as I had leaves brush up against me behind my seat.

Average food, average service, below average experience. Definitely NOT worth a return visit! Having lived in Malaysia as expats for a few years, my daughter and I wanted to enjoy Malaysian food for the first time in ages and previous reviews of Chinta Ria St Kilda had us excited. Unfortunately our evening was an absolute flop! The Ella's Wrap was lovely, but it all went downhill from there. The filling in the Lettuce Cups was bland, to say the least, and when we asked for 2 lemon wedges, we were presented with one tiniest little piece of lemon. And it was one morsel only, so we asked for another, which was literally plonked on our table as if we had offended them by asking for it. The roti tasted floury and not properly cooked, and the satay sauce served with it ... suffice it to say I make a much tastier satay sauce at home, as does the Ayam brand which is sold in supermarkets across Australia. And no, I'm neither Malaysian, Asian, or a chef, I simply know how to cook. There was nothing special about the Special Fried Rice and the Fried Koay Teow too was bland and only improved marginally once we added chili oil (also plonked on our table) which we had to ask for as there are were no condiments on the tables, including even the most basic Kecap Manis. On a positive note, the wine was delicious; but this was because they didn't make it themselves, thank gawd! Despite only being 7:30pm on a very quiet Friday night, our food was rushed with the various plates coming out at the speed of light. My request for the mains to be held back a bit so we could first enjoy what we already had on the small little table was ignored, or perhaps it was seen as a challenge to rush our food out even faster, who knows .... Perhaps the wait staff were not in the mood for working on a Friday night because the service was indifferent, to say the least. Our food, the extra lemon wedges and chili oil we asked for were unceremoniously plonked on our table without even one friendly smile or much eye contact. And this was on a quiet night. What a wonderful way to make paying guests feel like an inconvenience. Overall, we probably should have realised it was a bad restaurant choice when we walked in and saw chopsticks on the tables of a Malaysian restaurant; Chinta Ria, they do not eat with chopsticks in Malaysia! If it was possible, I would have rated our experience lower than 1-star, but we work with what we have. In short, NEVER EVER again will I insult my taste buds by subjecting them to the sub-par food of Chinta Ria St Kilda. What a waste of time, calories and money!

We booked a table for 4 at 6pm, and had to wait until 6:30 to be served to be able to order. We didn't get our food until after a little over an hour. Every time we asked the server what was happening with our order, she said she had already told the kitchen and that there was nothing she could do. And that our "food was coming". We had a show to catch at 8pm so when the food finally came, we had 10 minutes to eat and had to rush off. The food was small portions, mediocre quality, not authentic Malaysian food. And very over priced -- 30 dollars for a main that was very small and of disappointing quality. Do not recommend.

Recommended to go try the Spanish mackerel dumplings. That's what we ordered. Unusual shape, oblong instead of the normal pot sticker shape. However, the paste was very nicely done without being too dry or rough. The skin was also supple and cooked to perfection.

Came here for their famous dumplings one late afternoon. The dumplings were freshly fried but taste wise, it was only okay. For the mackerel one, it was more like fish paste (akin to that of an Asian fish ball) rather than real fish. As for the pork and ones, the fillings were quite tough. Also, these dumplings are not sealed, meaning when you eat them the juice will just escape. Also order their tofu noodles dish (starter). It was not properly tossed and just a pile of noodles with oyster sauce and chili oil heaped on top. Unless you like the taste of oyster sauce mixed with very spicy chili oil, avoid at all cost.

Visited Shandong Mama on 4 July around 2pm and it was still bustling. Rightfully so! Absolutely delicious food and lovely service. We ordered mackerel and spinach potstickers, pork and cabbage dumplings and pork belly slices with garlic and chilli sauce. Each dish was amazing, but the potstickers were the clear winner! The owner delivered food to several tables herself and introduced herself to my partner, who is also from Shandong. Definitely worth the hype and a very personable and delicious experience.

Shandong Mama is that classic, no-fuss Chinatown spot that absolutely delivers on flavour. It’s casual and unpretentious, with a great menu to dig into. We had the cucumber dish (a favourite of mine), some fried and steamed dumplings—the squid ink steamed dumplings were the standout, packed with flavour and really tasty. The fried ones were solid too. The cold silken tofu with egg was probably my least favourite—pretty mild, but that’s kind of the nature of the dish. I first visited in 2019 and it was one of those dinners & taste sensations you’ll always remember. Fast forward to 2025 I got to go back and the memories & the food were still the same. So good! Not a first timer for this round and still amazed at the fact that the food here is consistently good. We arrived just before 12, did not wait for a table. Staff were lovely. Ordering opens at 12pm. Got two of the lamb kebabs and the deep satisfaction. We all loved our meals. The lamb was just spicy and the tahini sauce is addictive. The cauliflower is a whole other level altogether. It’s soft but mushy, salty and savoury and just to die for. Highly recommend.

Fantastic middle eastern restaurant in the Melbourne CBD. On Friday it was empty at 1130, packed at 1230, with a happy, noisy and energetic crowd. Terrific menu, with great range of options. The pitta range is the go to, with amazing flavours and generous fillings. The staff were great - friendly, professional and attentive. A must do on your next visit to Melbourne.

I come here quite regularly as the food is always tasty, fresh and consistent in terms of flavour and quality. I usually get the Rotisserie Chicken Pita or Golden Fish Pita, and sometimes with a side of Mezze. Both the chicken and fish are very tasty, the chicken is a little bigger and heavier if you are hungry and the fish is really soft, well cooked, and filled with flavour. The bread here is awesome, really soft and perfectly flavoured. Service is very fast and the setup inside is simple but nice.

I was very positively surprised by the food quality. As the restaurants in the hardware lane seem Super touristy I didn’t expect much. But it was absolutely delicious, I ate way too much but feel comfortable and happy afterward. Bella the waitress was so friendly and made us feel like old friends coming to the restaurant. Atmosphere sitting outside is lovely and not noisy at all. I recommend: - Pita salad - Schnitzel - cauliflower

Shared the shawarma, baked eggplant and chickpeas, mezze and baked cauliflower last night. Probably the best meal I’ve eaten in Melbourne in a long time. Super healthy and filling. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Staff were really attentive and friendly, even letting us split the bill which is a rarity these days. Highly recommend!

Had the grilled barramundi with Tuscan spice and super salad. Was pricey at $28 but absolutely worth it. I would easily come back tomorrow night and have it again. The chef knows how to cook! The other meals were also great from what the rest of our party said.

Pretty decent fish and chip joint. Their fish and chips are decent but I wouldn't say it is anything out of the ordinary. We also tried the seafood chowder and although it tasted good, I felt that there was too much chunks of seafood in it. Would've been nicer if it was blended more finely. When we arrived staff were already trying to rush us into taking an order. Overall decent food, average service but a good way to spend the day out when the weather is good.

Had dinner at Tommy Ruff tonight, Got some patato cakes very nice. Then we got our mains southern fried Fish and chips Barramundi The mains were very nice. I also got a lamb skewer on the side, I wouldn’t recommend. Just stick to your fish :) Service was amazing, the guy making the drinks was a bit too serious.

We went to Tommy Ruff after the beach for some food and it hit the spot perfectly. I ordered the soft shell crab burger and it was probably the best soft shell crab burger I’ve had in Melbourne so far. They had a whole crab in there! My friend who doesn’t like fish got the beef burger and he really enjoyed it too. Will definitely come back !

Blown away by the amazing seafood here. Great customer service. They were on top of everything and very nice. We had the seafood platter. We ordered the sweet potato chips on the side, too. We started with the fried stuff on the bottom, but I think it was a mistake. Because the clams and mussels on the top had so much flavor. Definitely will return.

We did have to wait a little as it was busy, but the owner and staff were so friendly, accommodating and apologetic that it didn’t bother us at all. The food was incredible! It’s so rare to find really good fish and chips, but every single dish was perfect. The chowder was rich and flavourful, the kids’ meal was tasty and a great size, and the oysters were super fresh. Highly recommend — definitely worth a visit!

Ordered via delivery. Huxtaburger taste alright. But the cost for thin beef patty burger I find it hard to come again. The most let down are the fries, fried chicken tenders and fried churro all been kept in heated oven for far too long that taste so dried and hardened. Couldn't continue to eat them and had to throw them away. When your venue cost so much than MacDonald and KFC. You expected least better taste and quality.

The signature smashed beef patties are made with Victorian grass-fed beef and you can really taste the difference. We went for the Duo Pack: 2 burgers, 2 drinks, large chips, and your choice of 4 chicken tenders or 2 cheeseburger sliders. It’s more than enough for two, but of course, I had to add the cheesy bacon chips (a must) and slaw to cut through the richness. The smashed burgers were great, simple and done well. Nothing gimmicky, just a solid classic burger. The chips were super crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the cheesy bacon version was loaded. The chicken tenders were a standout, especially dipped in their gravy, which took them to the next level. The slaw with ranch felt like a fancier version of KFC’s, fresh, creamy, and balanced. Huxtaburger kindly invited me out to try out their menu.

The food was delicious, with a relaxed and chilled ambience and friendly staff. We ordered the two burger combo, which came with large chips, fried chicken, and two drinks, great value for sharing. I tried the Britney burger, which was juicy, tasty, and very filling. The fried chicken was also crisp and well seasoned, and the chips were perfectly cooked. Another big plus is that they’re open late. We visited after 9 PM on a Friday night, straight after a show at 3CR radio, and it was a perfect spot to grab a bite and unwind. A great choice on Smith Street if you’re after a casual, tasty burger meal with good vibes.

First experience here and it was a damn good burger. Staff was friendly, service was quick and wait times very short. Came through around midday and there was a small line but barely worth mentioning as it didn't take long for them to all receive orders. I had the Jane burger and whilst I don't normally enjoy a basic burger that much, huxtaburger does it very well! So I'll have to try the fancier ones another time.

Huxta always gets it right. Open late for my random cravings, with staff who know how to keep the vibe chill while serving up the best burgers. The menu has soooooo many options it’s honestly a problem, because I want everything!!!! Every time I tell myself it’s just a one-time treat, but we both know I’ll be back again. <3

No one could possibly dislike The Stokehouse so no need to go on about it.....except to say it probably had The Best Waiters and Waitresses I've ever known at a Corporate function. There was no delay ever in catching their attention and being provided for very promptly. And I wasn't the only person who made that observation!!

I’m giving 1 star by default as it’s not possible to rate this place with 0 star. Literally scammy vibes here… it was so enjoyable to only realize the $2 oyster deal was not available… when the bill was handed to us. Of course the waiters are not going to mention the conditions of the oyster deal at any point, while we were clearly ordering oysters for the oyster deal. We felt fooled and upset. What a great experience. Be careful it’s not a cool place although it’s in a cool spot at the sea side. To top it off, table / chairs give a fast food furniture vibe, so no chance to feel cozy or comfortable to enjoy a $20 aperol.

Our server is amazing. She was on spot, show up at the right times, gave us a in-depth description of the menu and promptly shows up to assist us all the time. We felt like we were eating at the comfort of our homes. My friend thought the food were on a small portion but food quality and taste is definitely top notch. Personal favorite is the oysters and Ricotta gnudi and pumpkin, side will be the grilled beans with almond. Will definitely return to try the other offerings on their menu.

Located just across st Kilda beach. Well lit restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was efficient and polite. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dishes. The veal schnitzel was juicy and tender and not too oily. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly and the sauce was nice and creamy. Priced appropriately for the amazing location. So peaceful having some dinner while watching the beautiful sunset.

When we arrived, the waitress asked if we had a show to go to after dinner so that they could ensure the food came out promptly and we wouldn’t be late for our show. This was a thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated! The communication from the staff was amazing, our meals were full of flavour, stunning views and great atmosphere. Service was great! If you're craving Vietnamese food in the Port Melbourne area, Hanoi Mee Kitchen & Bar is a solid choice. The food was decent I enjoyed my meal, though I’ve had better elsewhere. Still, the flavours were satisfying, and the presentation was great. What really stands out is the vibe , it's a great spot for dinner and drinks, with a stylish setting and a relaxed atmosphere. Overall, I’d definitely come back if I’m in the area again. Worth checking out if you're nearby and in the mood for modern Vietnamese food.

Sunday lunch at Hanoi Mee. Loved the brightly coloured interior and the menu impressed in being able to cater widely to all in our dining party including the vegetarians and the dieters. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered and would go back to try a few we didn’t have the stomach space for, the bao and Bahn mi. Fresh flavours and reasonable pricing, quite satisfied with this find

No particular expectations on a Sunday at 1pm before hitting a much-anticipated gig at Revs - not only were the espresso martinis just the ticket for that time and occasion, they were also well-made and the relaxed vibe in the upstairs open-roof area was spot-on. The bartender made an extra batch to make sure our drinks were full to the brim, which showed attention to detail. There were DJs playing, with time-appropriate music. It was the day after the AFL final and some other patrons did appear to be in mourning, to no fault of the establishment.

$5 are incredibly irresistible and if you go before 7pm on wednesday-friday it’s $6 happy hour! it was very refreshing to stroll down Prahran and not see food that costs an arm and a leg. the atmosphere was great with overall lovely waitstaff of all different vibes and take on good service. the food came out quickly and hot and for $5 was very good! this is a must if you’re looking for a quick, quality, cheap meal.

Loved the pizzas! Can't go wrong for $5 each. The drinks were on point. The rooftop is small but cozy. The couches are a great place to sit and have a yarn. Will be back!

A beautifully designed bar in a prime location in Chapel st. with nice and welcoming staff. Reasonably priced food and drinks. I’m in love with pizzas. Also they recently do a beautiful eggplant wedges. I’m a regular here and absolutely recommend it.

We fancied pizza and picked this place because of the ratings and did no research. They are definitely very cheap at $10 but we got what we paid for. My friend's Easy Cheesy pizza was fine but came with a big edge of crust . My Marinara pizza had minimal seafood and the "prawns" had the texture of mash potatoes - an unique experience for me. Friendly staff and a funky, vintage decor with comfy, old couches and mismatched furniture adding character. Probably good for drinks but a bit disappointing food wise.

Came here with friends for lunchtime mid week drinks and this place has such a vibe. The history within the place seems to sing out to you and with all the different bars throughout the establishment its like you're in many places in one. And the bathrooms are something straight out of a Harry Potter movie. Great selection of drinks and good prices. Would definitely recommend for day drinks, and look forward to coming back to experience the food menu sometime too.

If I could rate the service a 10 I would. The front of house, Julie, was amazing. We sat near the door and the smile and kindness and zest she showed to every customer was heartwarming. Thank you for caring for us and our food experience!

Went with some work friends and had a lovely afternoon. Eli, who was at the bar, looked after us really well and was super friendly. The sunset over the ocean was just incredible. I did find the prices quite high compared to other places in the area. I had two bottled beers and a frozen margarita cocktail, and we also shared some pizzas and chips. The pizzas were delicious.

We were having a great time at the pub- good food, great service (from Nicholas) and a great atmosphere. That soon changed when the band “Gunslinger” started playing. It was far too loud and the music choice was more suited to an RSL. Disappointing and the venue could have benefited from having a younger, modern band to create a livelier atmosphere. The newly refurbished venue needs a newly refurbished band..!!

I enjoyed the food and friendly staff but in all honesty the price could be better for the portion you get. I ate what i ordered but I felt hungry still, i didnt want to order anymore because I've spent way over $100. Would I come back? not to be rude but I've gone to krabbys in docklands and I continue to go there simply because I get what I pay for. Overall I really enjoyed my experience 🙌👏🙏 Thank you

A good range of southern style food, cocktails and beers. Thankfully they have plenty of food options other than crab and seafood. The fried chicken was great (hot and fresh), and the beer was icy cold! The Bloody Mary oyster shot was pretty awesome too. The dining area was well kept, staff were happy and helpful, the food came out quickly and all at the same time which was good.

Seafood tastes fresh, good service, good fried chicken. The butter sauce on the seafood is good. Drinks compliment the food well, nice courtyard in the back. There's a really nice feel to the place. The tables could be a bit bigger though.

3.5 stars. Mixed reviews and my experience confirmed was simply above average and nothing special. (I visited in 2017 and saw some of my old photos so doing the review only now!) Food quality: Seafood didn’t taste the freshest, above average for sure but not more than that. Food portion / Price: Portions are in line with average and prices are as expected in the city!

Kinda pricey for what we ordered and got, however the quality of the food redeems it. The service is welcoming and friendly although sorta uninformative to the point that we felt we were being taken for a ride. Ordered oysters which were fresh & sweet. Always a good sign. Had prawn cocktail which we didn't intend to order as we wanted the prawn in a bucket special (we didn't know the latter existed as we were only handed the standard menu) the prawn cocktail while nice was exorbitant at 16 dollars for a mouthful or three. Oysters also are oddly priced. 1 for 4, 6 for 26.. Next we had crab and funny enough we only ordered 1 but 2 came. They had a bit of a deal where the first was 35 dollars and second was 25 (This price was the market price so it variates). The inconvenience made us go through 2 crabs and our initial plan was to add more to the order if we were hungry, so some miscommunication existed there. I ordered a pot of Kona Bigwave which was delicious.. But I got a pint. Luckily wasn't driving so I didn't put up a stink, that said keep an eye out. All in all bill came to just under 100 for two. The restaurant deffo had great atmosphere and from when we visited and had a tracks playing in the background and an eclectic amount of things that were on shelves and wall making it interesting. Again service was welcoming & friendly just had points that could have been improved on. On that note I can understand the efficiency however I didn't exactly appreciate when I was given the bill mid way between demolishing a crab and butter was everywhere. All in all we'll we might have another visit if we feel the need for crab boil in our lives but next time we'll be looking out for the special menu and reconfirm what we order.

A must try in Fitzroy regardless of whether you like crabs or not. The restaurant is famous for their crab boil which I'd highly recommend and it also runs specials (we had a scallop chowder). The interior decor is lovely and unique, and it's as if it were trying to convince you that you are inside a submarine or a boat. Overall a lovely place to dine at with friendly staff.

We had the oysters, mussels, crabs, clams and prawns, chicken ribs, fish tacos and softshell crab burgers. All fresh and all good. Service was fast. Drinks were a bit limited though and many beers listed on the menu weren't in stock. Would still come back.

Perfect spot for a winter comfort meal! ❄️🍜 The clay pot rice noodles were piping hot and packed with bold, authentic Chinese flavours. The broth was rich and warming, and the portion size was super generous, great value for money. The staff were friendly and service was quick too. Definitely coming back!

A delicious rice noodle kitchen by the renowned @daintysichuan group. Served in a claypot, the portions are huge and contain plenty of ingredients, even I struggled to finish my bowl. And if you haven't previously been tempted, definitely get Google Lens to do some translating for you to get a bit of a laugh and insight into the meals laid out before you. The Tender Beef And Tomato was exactly that - tender, smooth and aromatic just as the description suggests. It was great but I was envisaging more of a scrambled egg and tomato taste which it was not (even though I did add an egg for the intended effect) because it's such a big bowl of soup, it's a tad on the watery side. Same as the Fish Fillet With Pickles which was a nicely sour soup base with fresh fish fillets and pickled cabbage but it was the Fried Pork Dumplings that stole the show, highly recommending the braised pork as top tier!! The noodles themselves taste well cooked but are ordinary in the scheme of places that handmade or handcut their noods. And the claypot is an absolute win for being different and keeping everything hot when the camera has to eat first! Not wanting to take away from this place as a must try - all in all, definitely a great place if you're in the city and craving a hearty bowl of rich broths with springy rice noods and for the price is definitely a Melbourne Cheap Eats win.

One was their rice noodle soup with chicken stock and the other was the tender beef & tomato. They came in clay pots which kept the food cooking for a bit longer for sure. Was here for years until this time the pork intestine smells so bad, not only that I ordered pork intestine rice noodles but they did not give me noodles. They said they misunderstood me for ordering the intestine alone. Why would I want the intestine only, intestine never taste good alone. I don’t know why their pork intestine taste so bad, maybe it’s not washed properly or marinated properly. I don’t recommend ordering this And I was waiting so long for the noodle, it never came. My mum and my friend have already finished their noodles and our parking went over time and I had to pay extra for my parking too. I am very disappointed for this experience. It’s first time I brought my mum to the restaurant but I wish I went home to cook and I would have eaten already . As u can see in the picture, there wasn’t any noodles They Did bring me new bowl of noddles after r complained but I still felt very unhappy thinking how much time I wasted waiting and my parking went over that I had to pay extra hour of parking. And I had to eat alone when my mum and my friend finished eating already, it’s just not fun. To keep them not waiting for me so long, I had to rush eating the hot noodles . I normally take my time to enjoy food but this time I have to rush.

Big portions enough to share if you wanted to. Delicious noodles and soup broth. Will be back to try their other flavours. Update: recently went back to try their noodles and one of the waiters has a rude attitude, so for this I’ve reduced the rating.

Haven't been to this restaurant for a long time. Always go to the boxhill branch. The quality of the food is still top-notch, although I would have liked the Mala soup to be more spicy with strong pepper cone taste, making my lip numb. The portion is generous, especially for people like me who like to drink the soup. Soup is very good, not salty, and didn't make me feel thirsty easily. My husband loved their sour pickled fish.

Had a wonderful meal at Mr Ramen San. Located in an arcade off Little Bourke Street, is an authentic Japanese ramen place. We had the gyoza which was perfectly cooked with a bit of crunch. The spicy ramen broth was thick and flavorful, not too salty, not oily, didn’t burn your mouth but warmed your stomach. They offer free extra noodle portions 1/2 or full serve. My husband had the Katsu Don and he was impressed with the thickness of the pork and the flavor of the sauce. Definitely will come back again

A much smaller bowl then other places, compatible price too. I wouldn't say the ramen was bad, it's was put together well but just didn't hit the spot for me. Gyoza's were reasonably average, i didn't get to much pleasure from eating these, not sure what it was but they just didn't seem fresh.

Ramen San in Melbourne CBD is a popular spot for Japanese ramen 🇯🇵🍜. It’s usually packed, but we came just as they opened for lunch, which was perfect — no wait and not many customers. We ordered: 🍜 Charsu Ramen $18.90 – roast pork, spring onion, wood ear mushroom, seaweed, and seasoned egg. A classic bowl with a creamy broth and generous toppings. 🌶️ Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen – pork broth with chili seasoning, but surprisingly mild in heat. Still rich, flavorful, and topped with seaweed, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, spring onion, and seasoned egg. 🥟 Pork Gyoza (5 pcs) $8.50 – pan-fried dumplings with a crisp base and juicy pork filling, a nice side dish. Everything came out hot with generous toppings and nicely presented bowls. Overall, we’d rate the taste ⭐4/5. The price is a little on the high side, but fairly standard for Melbourne CBD Ramen.

I loved Mr Ramen San! I ordered the beef ramen with shoyu broth and it was amazing – the meat was super tender and the broth was full of flavor. We also had the gyozas, which were nice and crispy, and the edamame, perfectly salty and delicious. I’d definitely recommend this place! There was a queue, but it moved quickly.

Having a early lunch, order signature boat beef noodles, but there was some pork in my soup just wonder if it’s normal, taste still good, but what I have in Sydney city for $6 something would be no different. And then I order pork belly was very disappointed for the taste and tastier: it’s cold and hard no good deep fried pork skin smell, hard to chew, meat part are not tender and feel powdery should be thinner slice.

I went to this restaurant on Friday around 8 PM and waited about half an hour for a table. The food was amazing, tasting just like in Thailand. They even have authentic tuk-tuk decorations inside. The restaurant was quite busy with lots of customers and staff, but it added to the lively atmosphere. The restroom inside is very spacious. The menu is diverse, mostly focusing on Isaan dishes.

Food was very good but the Thai food scene in Melbourne is so good these days that it didn’t wow me as much as I hoped it would. But it was still good and worth another visit. I wished the prices were a bit better for the portion size though. Atmosphere is 10/10. I felt like I was in Thailand. Service is also really good and despite there usually being a line, it moves at a decent pace.

Typical Asian restaurant, service isn't a priority, which is absolutely fine. The food is EXCELLENT. Had the raw shrimp salad, fried intestines and ox tongue. The shrimp was super fresh and the salad sauce was not fishy. Ox tongue is superlative! Grilled to tender perfection and went well with the flaked salt and crushed garlic condiments. Fried intestines were also crunchy and fresh. Would definitely return if I go to Melbourne again.

I just LOVE this place so much. The food tastes so good and the service is really quick. I also liked the atmosphere because it had a tuktuk and street food stalls as their paying counter which I found was very creative. If you ever visit Melbourne CBD you should definitely try Soi 38!!

I ordered beef boat noodle. it was standard for me. My brother ordered tom yam noodle, he likes it. He came twice just to eat the same dishes. The beef ball was ok, the coffee was standard, I prefer Vietnamese one. Overall ok

A cool little place down the alley, has alot of potential but sadly the crispy pork and crying tiger were very dry and had no hint of moisture. The prawn entree was great though, plenty of flavour. Overall had potential to be good but didnt hit the mark. Have had alot better in the city.

I had the chance to try this place, and I must say, it was a pleasant experience. The portion size was good, and it was definitely filling perfect if you’re looking for something that will satisfy your hunger without leaving you wanting more. The flavours were well balanced and complemented each other nicely.

Came here Sunday night with my baby and got a seat straight away. The chilled noodle was divine! Not sure about the ramen soups but this definitely is a westernised version of ramen, still very tasty and fresh!

Had the shoyu ramen! The noodles were nice and chewy and not too doughy, the pork was the best as it did melt in the mouth, I just wished the mushrooms were less bitter. Prices for ramen were a bit expensive as this was $25. Definitely don’t go on the weekend 6% surcharge or public holiday 15%. Card surcharge is 1.5%

We tried because this is one of the more popular ramen places in Collingwood/Fitzroy area. Unfortunately it failed to live up to her reputation. They’re good for light flavoured broth - soy and salt. I generally prefer pork bone broth and so perhaps that is why I prefer them less. Consider adding the garlic/chilli bomb for the extra flavour. The pork belly was also not the best but it’s not the worst. Ramen egg was well cooked though.

From memory, the ramen here leans on the shoyu (soy-based) style, and the crowd was mostly Western when I visited. Back then it already felt pricey, and now at $24.50 a bowl, it’s not too bad value-wise — but you’d expect soy ramen to come in at a less premium price point. That said, the broth was refreshing and lighter than your heavier ramen styles. The noodle texture was standard but solid, and the meat was cooked well, no major complaints there. The setup used to be communal seating in the middle, which could get pretty compact unless they’ve since added more tables. What stood out is that they use higher-end sourced ingredients you wouldn’t normally find in a traditional ramen — feels like it’s been tailored more to the Brunswick market and Western palate. Also tried the pork bao, which was honestly more like a veggie bao — barely any protein inside, and mostly just plain white bun bread to chew through. Pretty disappointing.

Simplistic Ramen, cute setup, Fitzroy location, friendly and helpful service... What more can one ask for? If you are a Japanese food fan, you should try this place :) Everything I've tried here has been beautiful in terms of food.

Coincidentally found this ramen shop while strollin around Fitzroy. What caught our eye was how the place was already full just 15 mins after opening?? We immediately decided to have lunch here. Lucky us, there was one table left outside, and the weather was perfect for ramen! Ordered the tan tan beef brisket ramen and it was superb! The broth was super savory, you can tell they simmered it for a long time to get that depth of flavor. The noodle texture was great, and we loved the brisket beef! Super soft, juicy, and breaks apart easily. It had so much fat, which is a big plus for us! The broth was spicy and had that peanut-y kick, but still felt really fresh in this weather. Just had to finish it fast before it gets cold if you’re sitting outside 😂

The best vegan deli in Melbourne, full stop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve been here twice now on Sunday Collingwood walks, street art and coffee hopping, and each time we ended up here — and for good reason. The space nails the Melbourne vibe: natural light, cool art on the walls, uplifting music, high tables, shared tables, take-away counter, even boutique wines in the fridge. You can pick meals straight from the glass window, grab vegan cheeses, take-home dishes, bar snacks, and more. The menu is fully vegan but so tasty you could bring non-vegan friends and they’d never miss a thing. We’ve had the frittata, pumpkin pie, and vegan duck leg — all amazing. The desserts are next level: vanilla custard slice, chocolate croissants, donuts, caramel popcorn, baked cheesecake, and that red velvet with cream… unforgettable. This is everything you want in a Collingwood/Fitzroy café: fun, funky, foodie, and not to be missed.

Sandwiches are generous and so flavorful. I had the shnits creek and it was really good, I’d get it again but keen to try all the other fillings. Coffee was very good and the cardamom doughnut was so good, the texture needs to be tried to be believed, so soft, and cardamom flavor is very very subtle, which was lovely. The standard of food is very high consistently. Lots of seating and parking on a Saturday wasn’t too bad.

A review in one word? LOVE. This place is always rocking and I've never had a bad experience! Went with a friend over the weekend - we lined up around 11:45am and they'd already sold out of quite a few options. Hey, when you're that popular, it's a good problem to have! We ordered two different sandwiches, but after we'd ordered, one sold out, so we ended up with two of the same. No complaints though - the flavours were absolutely delicious! This place is like a plant-based eater's dream: pastries, sangas, brekkie, plus deli-style condiments you can take home. It's really a great experience and feels so Melbourne. It gets pretty busy so there's not always a seat available straight away, but with the flow of people coming and going, space opens up pretty quick. If you're thinking about it, just get in there and try it! You won't regret it.

Tried this place at last and it didn’t disappoint!! Vegan deli food never tasted better. Huge servings, packed with the best vegan fillings. Priced well. Service with a smile. Looking forward to going back when next in Melbourne.

What a refreshing change to go somewhere with so much choice that’s all vegan and tasty. It puts to shame those cafes that can’t tussle up one decent choice to plant based lovers. I’m considering moving to Collingwood just to be closer.

Been coming here for years with my partner and trekking across Melbourne (even with our newborn baby recently) to get a vegan feed! It’s great for vegan meat and dairy alternatives however as OG wiggum fans we miss the old sandwiches so much but the sweets are unreal and it’s making us try other things on the menu now 😆 Also the staff are amazing and always so friendly!

I've been waiting a long time to visit here and finally got my chance. I ate too much as I wanted to taste it all. Everything was delicious, vibes were top tier and service very friendly. I can't recommend it enough. Oh did I mention I visited two days in a row? When it's this good you come straight back for more.

What a great little fins for a post theatre feed and drinkies. Just over the road from the National Theatre fortunately scored the last table and right in with a dual margarita starter. Some chips n salsas which was delicious rich and spicy. We shared a set of 3 types tacos tween us and all were delicious. Crispy not only fish, beef birria and the highlight for me was the pork. Honourable mention for the birria consomme that was one of the most flavoursome I've tasted. Good enough to drink. Top honours shared between the Margaritas and the service. You have to give this taquieria a try.

Staff is lovely, fantastic service. Music is great, good variety. I've only ordered tacos and chilaquiles and both are great, well served and easy to identify the use of quality ingredients. I am Mexican, and this feels like good Mexican tacos. Congrats! Interior design is too kitsch and uses too much cliches for my taste, but hey, there are many spots with the same vibe in Mexico too. Congrats to the owners and the staff, you are doing a fantastic job.

First time we ate here, live near by but never tried it. 10/10. Food was some of the most freshest, tastiest Mexican food we’ve had. Venue has a cool Spanish/Latin feel, waiter was great, lovely energy and super kind. Even got dessert! Will be back for sure. Thanks for having us guys.

We ordered the beef birria, pork carnitas & grilled chicken tacos. All were awesome, but the pork was definitely my favourite!

Muy buenos chilaquiles. As a Mexican, I recommend the place. The chilaquiles are pretty good. Really cool for them to have Mexican brand beer and sauces. The taco sauce and meat (carne asada) could improve a bit, but they are good as well. Just missed the Coca Cola plastic tables to match the vibe. But the tablecloth are really accurate.

Ubered the jalapeño poppers, flautas, chicken and steak tacos. Delicious! Even better than some other good places in the area. Also the poppers are gluten free which is a treat and the restaurant contacted me to advise the porkntacos were not gluten free so i could substitute something so you can trust them to take allergies seriously. Highly recommend. Be prepared for a but of a longer wait than other places but worth it.

I went with a group of friends. (6 in total). Easy to find. The venue is small and very cosy. The staff very friendly giving good service. Food was very tasty with a very good range of drinks. Loved it.

This was our second visit to Arlechin, this time with some friends from Sydney. We stopped in for a few cocktails after dinner and loved it just as much as the first time. Our first visit was a couple of weeks ago after my wife heard about the place from a colleague. We had a couple of cocktails and shared the Jaffle Bolognaise and the Steak Tartare. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The vibe is spot on. It’s got that late-night, tucked-away feel but still has a great energy and atmosphere. Perfect spot for drinks, a snack, or both. We’ll definitely be back.

Tucked away down Mornane Place, just off Bourke and Exhibition, Arlechin delivers a sophisticated and dimly-lit late-night dining and cocktail experience, a perfect spot for a refined after-dark outing . The space seats around 40 and feels like a European wine cellar with its cork-lined vaulted ceiling, hanging lights, and minimalist industrial décor. We arrived for a bite and ordered the steak tartare, which came with fries, a classic presentation that truly hit the mark. It stood out as one of the best versions of tartare in Melbourne, rich, finely seasoned, and beautifully plated. To pair with the food, we enjoyed a cocktail from their creative menu, classics and twists alike like the Puttanesca Martinez and a barrel-aged Negroni, expertly executed by staff and bar manager Russell Branford. The drink added an elegant lift to the meal and complemented the dish perfectly. The ambiance is cozy and intimate, with low lighting, wine-filled glass walls, and a long marble-topped bar lined with illuminated liquor bottles, ideal for groups or a date . Staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming, making tailored food and drink suggestions that elevated the experience. Overall, Arlechin blends excellent food, standout cocktails, and moody, sophisticated vibes into one of Melbourne’s best late-night spots.

First of all, I'd like to thank the staff for their warm welcome and excellent service. I was excited to find halal Nashville chicken in Melbourne. However, the experience fell a bit short of my expectations—but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the food. I tried the tenders with Traveller Spice (mild). The flavour was decent, but the breading could be crispier. I’d rate it 6/10. I also recommend getting ranch sauce on the side for dipping. I wouldn’t recommend the coleslaw, as it wasn’t to my taste. I prefer a sweeter version, whereas this one was quite the opposite. Rating: 2/10. The buffalo burger was the highlight of the night—the sauce, cheese, and overall flavour were deliciously messy. Rating: 8/10. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad, just not quite what I expected. However, I’d love to visit again and try different menu items. Second visit on 12th of Feb 25, got all good stuff deal $60 for two, the amount is good but I believe the breading could be better. The service was slower this time than the first visit.

My friends and I came here for the first time, and the staff were super friendly and provided great service. We ordered the Belles Bucket with the Traveller flavor — it had a nice, balanced taste, not too spicy, and gave off a real American-style fried chicken vibe. I really liked the pickles on the side — they went perfectly to cut through the richness. The side dishes like salad, fries, mashed potatoes and corn cheese were the best! Everything tasted amazing together. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

My girlfriend struggled to pick a place to eat at for atleast an hour, my lord am i glad it landed at Belles. As soon as i walked into the establishment i was amazed by the decor and music. Really felt like i was taken to a totally different timezone, it was amazing and really felt unique, absolutely nailed it. The food we got was great aswell, the chicken was done great and was delicious especially with the sauce. Staff were really fast and didnt have to wait at all pretty much. I cannot suggest this place enough, just do yourself a damn favour and go to Belles. PS can you send me merch?

We came here for a date night and it was so good we brought our friends back a few weeks later! The chicken is amazing (the nashville tenders are the best) and we LOVED the mac n cheese. The interior is really cool too and gives an American diner style of eating. Definitely will be coming back again. :)

Vibes are immaculate. Food was delicious. I love that they have a small menu because you don’t have to waste time trying to decide what to get. Went in with my mum & sister & we all walked out happy. I ordered the iced tea & it was amazing - I’ll be thinking about it for a long time. It’s a shame we live on peninsula bc I’d stop by just for that. The staff were lovely too. Thanks for having us. Burgers were 10/10!!!! Best burgers I’ve had in a long while. But, the wings that we ordered in the spice level which was the 3rd option (can’t remember which one) felt very unseasoned. It didn’t taste like anything at all, and that was a bit disappointing. The fries, however, were so good! Crinkle cut, crispy, soft all at the same time. Loved them. Waiting time was about 7 minutes. And nobody even looked our way at the waiting area the whole time. Would have appreciated a bit of acknowledgement, but considering the fact that only one attendant was rushing to and from tables, it was understandable i guess. I’d definitely go again for the fries and burgers!

I would say the Kstreet toast is the thickest sanga I have had! Both the burger and toast were freshly made, loaded with fillings and the sauce was delicious. Their lattes were exceptionally impressive. I’m in love with that nutty and earthy flavour from the grain. I had something similar in Korea but this is my first time trying it in Melbourne. Highly recommend their grain based latte. The only thing I will fault is the rice cake filling in the injeolmi toast. The texture was tough, not soft enough.

It was huge! I had the K-street toast and it tasted great but was finding myself struggling to eat it because it's so thick. I had to eat it on their serving tray with the cutleries but overall it's a really good meal with reasonable price. Flavour-wise, the mayo is pretty strong and it has great crunch from the different veggies in the sandwich. The staff are really friendly and offered the diner with water, coffee or tea.

King-sized Korean street style toast and sandwiches that will fill you up for the day! Love all their sandwiches but my top recommendations are their Idol Sandwich & K-Street Toast. Idol sandwich is more on the sweeter side with full of delicious layers whilst the K-street toast tastes more like your traditional Isaac Toast from Korea with thick slices of ham and a generous amount of that heavenly creamy maple onion jam and mayo mix. They create sandwiches that have the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. Recommend the white toast bc you get your servings of veggies from the chunk of cabbage in there already haha! Beware one sandwich may be too filling but I finished one by myself bc I was so hungry but also bc it was too good. The bulgogi toasties are a bit underwhelming. I find the flavours a bit lacking, and not much depth in aroma that you’d normally get from the Korean bean pastes. The drink options are lovely and refreshing. The tear’s latte is interesting but sweet and unique. They have some specials so definitely returning to try their unlimited options, including their sweets! Such a cute place for fusion Korean sandwiches and milkshakes, so delicious and creative. ❤️: My favorite item on the menu is still the 🇰🇷🥪 K-Street Toast Sandwich with 🍳 egg omelette, 🥕 carrot and onion, 🍁🧅 maple onion mayo, ham, 🧀 cheese, cabbage and 🥫 ketchup. Also tried their new snack of crispy bread sticks with 🧄🍞 Garlic Sour Cream as well, so yummy and perfect to share.

Never tried a Korean sanga before and these did not disappoint. They were loaded to the brim with delicious fillings. We tried the K Street toast, spicy pork bulgogi bun and the idol sandwich. All 3 were so generously portioned and tasty, it's so interesting to taste a western influence on Korean street food. The Idol sandwich was a stand out having eggs potato salad, strawberry jam and a mexican salad filling. I'd also highly recommend the lattes, especially the Job's tears latte. It has this unique nutty flavour that comes from the Job's tears grain, sooo delicious.

I have walked past Dari so many times and have been wanting to try them for ages but never gotten around to it. I happened to be in the area for blood donation and so I decided to try them. Best decision ever. I started with the K-Roasted Grain Latte, and it was so comforting, esp in the cold and rainy weather. Then I got the Mama Toast which has egg, ham and lots of veggies, which was refreshing and hearty at the same time. Just make sure you are not wearing your most exxy clothes here though, I dropped so much salad on my lap when I bit into my sando 🫣🤭

Very friendly staff, big portion with reasonable price and good vibes around as well. It has indoor seating which is warm and outdoors as well. Foods come pretty quick. It's very filling including the rice cake toast. The rice cake is thick but it's very nice. The minus is maybe that we just pretty struggle to eat it cause it's really thick. Really good experience!

The pizza is incredible 10/10. The dough and base is yum and very fresh. The bocconicini/margarita pizza is amazing and tasty. Prices are cheap. And the staff and atmosphere nice and relaxed.

Was staying local and noticed they did gluten free pizza so headed in for food. Nice little place, worked well for me on my own as well as groups of people. Food was lovely, all their pizzas were available gluten free. Well worth a visit if you're on the area and dietary challenged.

The worst food, left over salad from the backpackers, anyone can make much better at home or anywhere. Sliders are like one piece of long life roast chicken from Cole’s. About 20g meat in each slider. Would expect better in a third world country restaurant. Peak hour, at 7pm the kitchen closed for staff break till 8pm… great timing for a 7pm reservation no warning.

Nice place for brunch, staff friendly and food arrived promptly. Nice atomosphere, only gripe was my wife doesn’t like eggs and the breakfast/brunch menu was heavily loaded with items containing egg, but she took the fritters with eggs on the side , so more for me 😂

Pretty decent pizza and pasta for the cheap price! i got a $12 pizza and it was just enough for one person! vibes were immaculate sitting outside in the sun on a winters day!

Love this place. Good food. Nice relaxed ambience. Great value and friendly staff. The linguine is yummier than most expensive restaurants I've tried.

My mate told me they've been around for a long time now. Back in the day, there weren't many Mexican places to eat at, and it was a generous portion compared to how tiny it was. I personally do feel like they can do better with their portion compared to the price paid. They are located very close to the beach and a happening street in St. kilda. It had a very happening vibe with all the restaurants in that strip. I ordered their burrito bowl with grilled chicken and hot flavour, although I had to put in habanero sauce to make it according to my taste. I did like the taste of the food, but I feel like they should rearrange their seating area inside to make it look more inviting .

Stopped here for a quick lunch during a sunny day on the weekend, we stayed in their outdoor area in the street, a little uncomfortable but quiet. Their pulled pork burrito was giant and quite tasty, but my absolute favorite was the chicken quesadilla with guacamole, I definitely recommend that!

Service was excellent, cashier was very friendly, decor was lovely. But my gosh the burrito was bland. I got the bay city bomber and the meat had very little flavour. Felt like it was barely spiced or seasoned. The burrito felt like it was mostly rice and lettuce. I had even ordered the hot version and it was very bland till the very end when a bit of chilli came up. The filling tasted mostly of the white sauce used and cheese. I felt like I was eating plain cheese. Unfortunately the burrito flavour drags everything down. Yes the place is nice, lovely staff and the lettuce and veggies tasted fresh. Guac was lovely but my gosh the whole thing tasted bland and single noted. Honestly zambrero or Guzman do a better job 🥲

Hands down the best burrito I’ve ever had. Had heaps of protein for a very reasonable amount. Really good value for money and exceptional taste. The staff were very nice and the owner was such a kind soul and we had a great chat. Definitely will visit again!

Dined at the Hawthorn location which has unfortunately closed down but great that they are still open in the St Kilda location. Had the grilled lean steak street taco and their signature enchilada style burrito. The taco consisted of two layers of tortilla wraps with melted cheese and had a generous amount of steak which was flavourful but required a lot of chewing. Sauce was tangy and quite spicy. As for the enchilada style burrito, I decided to have chicken for the protein which was definitely the right choice since it was nice and tender. The sauce topping was creamy and savory, a key component which made the burrito so enjoyable. It was also very filling as there was more chicken then the rice and beans (I'm guessing maybe 70 percent meat inside the burrito). Overall the meal was tasty and portion size was definitely worth the price. Only minus was the tough beef on the taco. Will need to make another visit to try out some of the other dishes.

The Spud bar in St. Kilda is the best one! The food is plentiful, very delicious and never raw or cold. Chiken Parma is the best and that is my favourite. Salt and pepper available on the table and it's important if someone eats more salty than others. If you eat in they serve the food in normal plate with normal cutleries. No plastic and paper waste. Environment friendly. The restaurant is clean and nice. The service is very good, always fast and the guy is extremely kind! I am coeliac so extra stars for them bc the place is 100% coeliac safe.

Since trying out spudbar recently I am noticing them all over the place. I had a short window for lunch so this was a quick option for someone warm that was ready in one minute. Solid choice

On recommendation this was our first time visit for us and because of the pandemic we opted for a take-away and, on such a lovely day, we had spud lunch at the nearby Botanical garden. My vegie spud, a Chili Bean Salsa, was amazingly delicious. Excellent place for vegans/vegetarians and super friendly customer service. For a healthy meal this place is hard to beat.

Not recommended! Just went for a pulled pork spud and it was such a waste of money…. They shred pork into a lot of sauce and when they give it to you it’s just basically a lot of sauce and a lot of baked potato and sour cream… not sure why they’re doing this bearing in mind that I had a better experience in this place before…

I don't know expected more after reading some reviews. Also the chicken apparently is "RSPCA approved" whatever that means but it really tasted like the cheapest chicken around. the texture is like cardboard. Super airy. Have a look at the picture. That my friends, is not high quality meat. 😝 Also the diced bacon was cheap as chips. Probably a better place for vegan and vegetarian options. I won't be coming back though. ps. had the "Chicken Parma" bowl.

The portion sizes don’t even come close to matching their pictures on Uber eats. I ordered the pulled pork and there was very little to be found in the meal.

I work in hospitality so im pretty lenient with mistakes but this is the third time now from this particular spudbar. Ordered two spuds, my friends arrived perfect and hot with melted cheese. Mine was stone cold, cheese wasn’t melted even slightly and i had ordered extra cucumber, corn chips and quinoa and asked for no spring onion. Not a single extra I ordered was included and they hadn’t read the note about spring onion and included that. Tried to reorder cause hey, mistakes happen (even though uber dockets are pretty obvious and its hard to miss changes to orders) and im hungry for a hot potato i can actually eat and they cancelled the order. Was pretty loyal to this spudbar but I doubt i’ll order again.

This place is very dangerous parking for your car. When yes we arrived, 1 slot was free without indicating that it was for a short car. The place is angular, and in order not to hang out at the turn, we leaned forward. But the stopper is very far from the curb, which was not visible. When we left, the bumper vomited, the bottom and oil flowed. Trying to fix it to get out of here

Terrible service with incredibly slow and incompetent workers. Employees here are constantly chatting and laughing with each other as well as gossiping in front of customers waiting. Takes them 20+ minutes to organise a bottle of water or 1 drink and you still have to remind them and correct your order. Pathetic service and this chain needs a serious overhaul. Dreadful and disgraceful.

I purchased 2 large strawberry thick shakes and one large orange juice and a McDonald's Mcchicken and fries. So really two small food items and some drinks $38! What a disappointment. No wonder I never come to McDonald’s anymore. - and neither should anyone? Dear manager do you think customers perception of value is that warped !

Shouldn’t have to be waiting over 45 minutes just for an order to be collected. Not just for me but my poor uber driver, they have a job to do and they’re having to waste an hour on one job? Not fair for them at all. Disgraceful service and it’s not been the first time I’ve had issues with this McDonalds. Take the criticism and be better, joke.

Friday and Saturday nights are so busy at this Macca's u went there for a bit to eat at like 3am Saturday and it was packed. The staff were doing well to keep up with the orders. Overall had a good experience here.

Run far away ! Give order to wrong client... Asking for bank account verification for proof of payment while i presented the receipt. So weird... Not expecting a 5 star service from a fast-food restaurant. But to make me pass for a thief when i have a payment receipt... never Pass your way. One star is too much Zero zero zero. Plenty of fast food nearby

Very awful experience i was waiting for my food but the staff name diya was just roaming around and dancing with other co worker she wasn’t really bothered about that we were waiting for our order..later we got know that order was ready a long ago but we didn’t receive it just because of her negligence.never expected this kind of behaviour from mcdonalds

We went for the pho but stayed for the $2 prawn crackers. The place is dynamic quite literally (has trouper cafe in the morning and Saigon Street Eats in the later half) and has a lot of great food options. One of the only dual dining / cafe uses in the area. You can’t go wrong with the pho on a cold day. I got myself the rare beef pho and prawn crackers. The service was swift and it was served with a smile. Good amount of meat to soup ratio and lots of extras to customise.

Delicious food and love the new location. Beef pho is my favorite, the spring rolls and rice paper rolls are also very yum. Would definitely recommend.

Soooo yummy. I went here with one of my best friends a few weeks ago and I can’t stop thinking about the food! The tofu papaya salad is heavenly, the way the do their tofu is just so so good!!! The servings are really generous too, so it’s great value. It was extremely busy when we went but totally worth the hype, I personally like the bustling atmosphere. Recommended to all of our friends in the area, we will definitely be coming back soon.

We recently ordered catering for our son's 1st birthday and the food did not disappoint. Some of our family members are hard to please and the food honestly was the talk of the town! Everyone kept telling me the food was delicious! The process for ordering was super easy as Nick was able to give me suggestions on what to order for the amount of people we had. Incredibly patient and super friendly service. Would highly recommend anyone thinking of using Saigon Street Eats for their events! 11/10 in my books!

Amazing food with heaps of gluten free vegan options. The salt and pepper tofu vermicelli salad is my go to, paired with a salt and pepper tofu rice paper roll. Never disappoints, even when delivered, still incredible

Love the atmosphere ✨ we could chat for hours! Their pho soup is soo flavorful! But meat was a bit chewy and portion is a bit smaller 8/10 still very recommended! Soft shell crab bun is also very nice ✨ 8/10

First time, place was busy. Ordered the chicken and prawn papaya salad. Very average. The chicken was very dry. I’ve had way better at Quan 88 in St Kilda. Will go again however I won’t be ordering that.

Best Philly steak in town! This is my second time coming here, and I’d honestly make the trip just to eat their steak. The meat is juicy, the cheese is perfectly melted, and the bread holds it all together just right. Full of flavour and super satisfying. Plus, it’s a cosy spot with a small bar — perfect for a chill bite and drink. A must-try if you’re craving a real Philly steak experience!

Came for the Philly cheesesteak, stayed for the buffalo wings and then stayed longer because I had to order more buffalo wings. And the beer selection? Amazing!! Highly recommend

I had the Deluxe Burger and it was super tasty! The patty was juicy, the bun was fresh, and everything just worked perfectly together. Definitely one of those spots I’ll come back to. Loved it!🍔🍻

This is my favourite place to get Philly cheesesteak; it's delicious and always so consistent. The Bourbom Bacon is fantastic and I always opt for extra protein and extra cheese to make it really worth it. I appreciate that there's the option to add more to it. Spiced fries are also delicious. Really enjoy the seasoning. Keep up the great work!

THE BEST BUFFALO WINGS ON THE PLANET! I’ve had some in the US, some in other places here in Melb, some back in the Phils. None of them compare to these ones from Sparrow’s. Can’t count how many times I’ve had these wings, but aside from maybe a couple of times, they’re always immaculate! DO. NOT. EVER. CLOSE DOWN. PLEASE!!!

Got the regular cheesesteak. It tasted decent. The bread was nice and fluffy but everything else was a bit bland. Definitely could use more seasoning/flavour

Absolutely disgraceful service. The staff were not only rude but completely careless. We checked inside KFC in front of them and discovered they had missed 10 pieces of chicken. After walking to the car, we then realised they had also forgotten the 10 Wicked Wings — forcing us to go back yet again. Instead of apologising, they acted like we were lying and started rifling through our bags. This happened Friday 03/10/2025 at 7:30pm. The three workers on shift that night are an embarrassment to the brand and should be fired immediately. Utterly incompetent and beyond useless.

Staff were super helpful, got exactly as I ordered, and they catered to my special request. The food was well cooked, no complaints. There is not a ton of space to sit and eat, but there are benches outside.

Can’t fault this reliable store, food came out super quick when we needed it to for an Uber waiting. Staff were professional and handled a busy crowd well.

Once again a place that relies on location and position but limited service. Most of the staff have attitude or are too young to know what to say. There are never large coleslaw containers drinks are limited and sometime they’re out of chicken. After the meal was ready we weren’t told it is and the number was not on the screen. We weren’t given a drink which was part of the deal.

Was here last night, food was good, staff were friendly, order correct but order a bit slow. Couldn’t fault them though.

Went around 2,30 for lunch and the service was very good. The teenager with the nose ring and curly hair served me & was very polite and patient.

I was here today around 12. such lovely service from the girl at the front that had a gold nose peircing and gold jewellery she was such a sweetheart and definitely makes me want to come back to this kfc.

The pizza I ordered had way too little toppings on it. The crust should not take up so much space. The worst slice of the pizza is in the photo I have included with this review. Apparently this passes the existing quality checks that this store has. Also, I saw one of the staff members touch someone else’s pizza and adjust the toppings on it after he took it out of the oven without gloves on! Surely the staff members know it’s not ok to touch people’s pizza with their bare hands? Apparently this is acceptable in this store. Thankfully, the other staff member that I saw in the store had gloves on while he added toppings, so at least 50% of the staff members are doing the right thing when handling people’s food.

I’ve been a regular customer for over a year, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. The pizza was extremely disappointing the base was so hard it was almost impossible to chew, and it felt like it wasn’t made properly at all. The onion rings were burnt and had a bitter taste, definitely not what I expected. As a loyal customer for past 1 year now, this was really frustrating. I hope the quality improves because this was nowhere near the standard I’ve experienced before.

Looking for a late night feed on a Monday, the worker said they were closed but insisted that he can still take our order (legend) that saved us from going to the Pizza Hut (thank god). The Pizza at dominoes is normally just a solid feed but this night, the pizza was so good, everything was generously topped and cooked greatly, would recommend this spot for any late night hungers, the two guys working taking our order that late were legends!

I placed an order at 1 pizza + 2 sides deal as I often order I did not anticipate any issues. I kept track of the live gps and went downstairs when it said 7 min away around. It then kept saying 5 -2 min away for about 30 min until it said at location and delivered. There was no driver delivering food on my street, I waited an extra 10 min incase driver decided to say delivered first and arrive later due to traffic. There was nothing. I had to go back to my order email to call the store. The attendance was rude and said I’m grabbing manager. Manager simply said you put the wrong phone number, can you come pick it up it will take awhile to deliver it. Sure if I put the wrong number how does that change the fact that your live gps tracker saying you are 5 min away or at location when I have been downstairs for 40 min while it said delivering. If driver arrived at address why does it matter if the address and apartment number was correct and we have intercom. The managers attitude was horrible and made me feel absolute shit with his tone so I told him you know what if it’s too much trouble never mind, don’t worry about it. Before I got to ask about the payment he hang up. This is actually ridiculous. I am never ever going to order from Dominos ever again.

Ordered Dominos and they accidentally got the bases on mine and my husbands pizzas mixed up so I was lumped with thin and crispy which frankly is like a wafer (please see photo!) and I’m not at all sure why anyone would order it! Definitely not filling and I finished the entire thing in about five minutes

The worker accidentally made me the wrong pizza. But kindly made me another one. And the manager was extremely nice and gave me a free drink. 10/10 service. Best domino’s I’ve been too.
