We dined at Cafe Di Stasio this evening for my husband’s birthday. Such faultless food and service, with an understated elegance. The service was exemplary, the food absolutely exquisite. After having visited Melbourne several times over the years, this was truly an exceptional dining experience.

We celebrated you anniversary at Cafe Di Stasio in St Kilda and it was brilliant. Staff were fantastic, ambiance was perfect and the food was amazing! Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu!

We went for a special occasion and had no trouble making a booking using the online system. The restaurant is quite intimate, very dark inside with only small windows and no view of the street at all. Really we could have been anywhere. The menu is authentic Italian and everything we ordered was fabulous! The angel hair pasta on the specials menu had a mushroom ragout sauce and was to die for. We ordered baked oysters, plus the slow cooked lamb and the beef - which was served rare, sliced and truly melted in my mouth. The roasted veggies were also delicious. We shared two desserts and can recommend the tiramisu. It was quite cosy seating wise and with so many hard surfaces (concrete walls and floring) it's a very noisy space. I could barely hear our conversation when the restaurant was full. Nevertheless I would still say it was a romantic environment. Our lunch for two without excessive drinks came to $350 however they do offer a set menu with two courses and a glass of wine for around $39pp. Great place for a special occasion or a truly authentic Italian fine dining experience.

Remains one of the best restaurants in Melbourne after all these years. Yes, the food is fabulous, but for once, genuinely, the waiting staff make the key difference. Professional and knowledgeable, ask them to help with food and the wine list, you really won't be sorry.

PRICES INCONGRUENT WITH QUALITY AND SERVICE Cafe Di Stasio has the makings of a good restaurant but falls down on both service and quality. We dropped in for lunch on a weekend - set menu of either 3 or 5 courses. We opted for the 3 course - a scallop entree, pasta or chicken main and a slice of tiramisu. $230 all up with water is way over the top for what you get. The waiter was efficient but in that cool, stuffy way that doesn't gel with the Fitzroy al fresco dining vibe (we sat outside). People with mobility issues will struggle if they need to use the bathroom as it is located up a set of narrow stairs. the entrance has a small step to negotiate but otherwise the dining room is all on one level. Al fresco is an obvious option in beachside St Kilda but the outdoor tables feel very exposed to the passing parade on busy Fitzroy Street so I'd recommend indoor dining. As a lunch destination I think you would be better trying one of the numerous restaurants actually on the foreshore - cheaper and more menu options. If you are after a serious evening dining experience its probably an OK option. Street parking is fairly fierce but the tram line runs right past the door.

Amazing Italian food done right. No fuss, just the traditional way. Probably the closest you can get to Italy now due to Covid travel restrictions! However, this place is not your everyday eatery. The price is a bit steep, so it's definitely a place to go to for a special occasion. Not to mention, service was also great.

Well found this lovely gem after seeing a show at the National Theatre. A restaurant which caters for allergies. An example to other eatery owners. They even have an allergy sheet to guide you on your culinary experience. Nice eatery with helpful staff.

Nothing fancy Mexican food. Delicious hand made salsas for sure. The tacos are 5” and seem a bit expensive for the creativity involved: I sure appreciated alternate vegetarian fillings, that’s a nice touch. Good solid place, interesting decor, easy to get into for this particular Saturday lunch. A block from the boardwalk.

The food didn't blow me away but sufficed. We ordered a couple of tacos and some ceviche. The tacos were a bit cold, but the flavours were okay. We didnt enjoy the barbacoa lamb variant (very dry). But the carne asada and scallop was decent. The ceviche was a real let down for its price, the portion was quite small. The whole dish was also bitter which was quite unpleasant and the actual deal breaker for me. Also the tables near us were extremely rowdy and loud, so we left early. The waitress was very lovely, and attentive, the only good part of our experience.

If you are visiting this Restaurant in the middle ( or either side) of Melbourne’s Cold Winter season; it’s great to know that you can sit inside or outside with the option of complimentary blankets to wrap around you, which were great whilst sitting outside under cover this time. After noticing some others sitting outside with blankets & asking about them, I was told to go & get them myself. Noticing an amazing choice of ‘Chilli Hot Chocolate’ $10.00, I imagined the chilli warming up my throat with the dark chocolate at the same time, gliding down my throat… perfect in Winter! Notice: You have no choice of Milk- only Animal F/C Milk: No Soy/Almond or Oat Milk offered. Upon receiving the Chilli Dark Chocolate hot drink, I was really disappointed that there was ‘No Chilli’ flavour at all…. even as stated re the ‘sprinkle on top of chilli’. It would have been ideal to have the chilli infused through the milk & dark chocolate- for a slight ‘kick of warmth’. Just no Chilli flavour at all. Therefore, I would say that they need to improve their ‘Recipe’. I mentioned to a staff member, that I could not taste any Chilli,… he didn’t offer any solutions & didn’t care. After this, I devoured the ‘Taco-No-Taco’ $25.00 -with pulled Lamb. It was a small serving, however, quality ingredients & for once ‘no Rice’ at all, which is great if you are cutting down on ‘Carbs’. The lamb in the ‘Taco-No-Taco’ was only ‘just warm’- it needed to be served hotter. Overall, a cute place to eat Mexican, with a warm fire if you can get a booking inside. I will return in future, but not having a ‘Soy Milk’ option will now prevent me from ordering the Hot Chocolate. As I don’t drink Coffee, I’m not sure ‘what other hot drink’ I would be able to order re non alcoholic. Asked about ‘Mulled Red Wine’ but they don’t have any. Enjoy this Restaurant , if you’re lucky to find a park around St.Kilda- either paid or unpaid parking. Allow some ‘extra time’ for this. Toilets need ‘Updating’ & cleaning a bit more often.

Radio Mexico is a brilliant Mexican restaurant with an awesome vibe, great service and food that will make you feel good inside. The selection of tacos is amazing and all of them are so fresh with great flavour combinations that will have you wanting to try them all. The pork belly with crackle and pineapple salsa was fun and delicious. Great drinks selection too and the free guacamole and salsa to start with corn chips highlights the quality of food to come. Good seating options inside and out too. Definitely will be back to sample more and highly recommend

The food was pricy, which isn't uncommon, but the portion sizes were tiny. If this had been presented as a very fancy restaurant the value would have made sense, but I have dined much better for the same price elsewhere. The food itself also tasted rather mediocre more akin to GyG, but the value proposition there is much better. The enchiladas a main dish were no bigger than the starter and tasted underwhelming compared to the slaw. However what bothered us more than anything was the service. Pushing us to order more (which we were very reluctant to do since the price was so high) and constantly asking us whether we wanted more food. Also trying to push desert on us after we had finished mains. Overall a very negative experience.

Incredible burst of flavour, great cocktails, and a food menu were you find it hard to stop trying new things. If you're into Mexican cuisine and want a challenge for the best in Melbourne, here you go. Definitely worth a repeat and 2 thumbs up

Nice food and suitable portions. Stand out for me was the Garlic Naan, highly recommend it. As a vegetarian it was nice to have the option of a cauliflower korma - which i’d never tried before.

I strongly recommend this restaurant for quality Indian cuisine. All dishes were carefully made, balanced well with spices, and never boring. Furthermore, there is a freshness to the dishes and breads that are often missing in similar restaurants. Prices were fair and service was fast.

If you're after incredible Indian food in Melbourne, Babu Ji should be at the top of your list. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The team makes you feel right at home, offering great recommendations and checking in just enough without ever being overbearing. The food? Absolutely next level. The Kerala Fish is out of this world. Perfectly cooked, full of rich southern flavours, and just the right amount of heat. And the No Nut Korma is a total game-changer. Creamy, aromatic, and full of depth, it delivers everything you love about a korma without any nuts. That’s not just impressive, it’s thoughtful. The biggest bonus for us is that the whole place is completely nut free. For anyone with allergies or dining with someone who has dietary concerns, this kind of peace of mind is priceless. It’s rare to find a restaurant that offers this level of safety without compromising on flavour or quality. Every bite was memorable. Every interaction felt genuine. Babu Ji doesn’t just serve great food, they serve up a full experience that keeps you coming back.

This is what $33 got me. Beef was dry, fatty and full of tendons. It was a vindaloo but may aswell have been a Rogan Josh, no spice to it at all. Naan just tasted like baking soda.

Indian gem in the St Kilda neighbourhood. It’s located close to public transport (i.e. a tram stop nearby) so this Indian restaurant is easily accessible too. We genuinely enjoyed all their modern Indian dishes so we won’t hesitate coming back here whenever we’re somewhere around that area.

Food was amazing. I do wish the butter chicken was a little bit creamier but other than that we’ll definitely order again. The pack for 1 is the perfect size and I even had leftovers

11/10 flavors on every dish were different and unique, everything made with love and care, absolutely delicious! The menu changes based on market availability each day so don’t have your heart set on any specific type of fish but come with an open mind leave full and happy. Stand out dishes: Octopus Paella Chicken skewers Gambias Sangria

I had a fantastic experience at this Spanish restaurant! The food was delicious, rich in flavor, and truly authentic. Every bite was a burst of taste, complemented by wonderful aromas that filled the air. The service was perfectly timed, making the entire dining process smooth and enjoyable. The ambiance was lively, with flamenco music playing in the background and the happy faces of diners creating a warm atmosphere. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience, and I will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Sunday Lunch - $106 for two people The owner (cheff) was very cheerful and kind. He makes every customer happy:) The must order was seafood paella 🥘. Starting from 2 / $35. The portion was generous and we were very full at the end. Potato and salad were great too!

We booked a table. We were running 15minutes late and called ahead to give warning, the man on the phone said that's fine. When we arrived, there was no table for us. I've read other reviews and this is obviously an issue they haven't addressed. Anyway, Ten minutes later we sat down at a table. We ordered Tapas, two dishes came within 15 minutes but then the rest took an additional half hour or longer which was surprising as, by this stage, half the tables were free. Our server was very nice. The food was quite nice, if a tad expensive. It's uncomfortably loud, as they pack in as many tiny tables as possible. It gets extremely loud. You will likely have to squeeze past people to get to your table. To sum up, the overall service (including not holding our reserved table, and speed of food coming out) let it down. I wouldn't go back, but I don't look at the experience negatively. 3/5 for me.

Really loved the traditional Spanish food, flavours and music. The waiter was passionate and very helpful and recommended some delicious dishes. The paella was probably the best I’ve had outside of Spain, not dry at all. Sangria was perfect too. You have to have the croquettes, best ever. Overall loved the food! However, the services was a bit slow, took half an hour to get glasses on the table and the bill took longer. It was really loud and we were squished in with the tables and chair way too close together. It really is a great restaurant and I would definitely go back to try the many other dishes we didn’t get to try!

One of the best dinning experiences we’ve had in a long time. The food was amazing and the service was excellent we were attended to glasses filled and table kept clean. The egg plant, and beef cubes were superb. I was surprised how good the Brussel sprouts tasted toasted and delicious. I was also astounded by the fact that the chefs knew how to make the flavours without using coriander as a main ingredient minimal use of coriander 🌿 was particularly well done. Definitely worth a visit. We then went up to the ghost bar which was also an experience in itself. Congratulations Hotel Esplanade

I was pleasantly surprised by how good and authentic the food is. There was not a bad dish in sight- from the 5 spice chicken to the pork dumplings, crab fried rice and caramelised eggplant were delectable! Service was impeccable (which is rare these days). Settings was classy and informal at the same time. Will definitely be back 🥰

I booked a table for 7pm and we got there on time. The food was really good, but less than an hour later we were told we had to leave because they needed the table for the next booking at 8pm. The website says you get the table for 1 hour 45 minutes, so it didn't make sense. We asked if we could be moved to another table but they didn't help. Pretty disappointing and it ruined what could have been a nice night.

A culinary delight! The ginger chicken dumplings were bursting with flavour, and the pork & Moreton Bay bug dumplings were an absolute revelation. The duck fried rice was expertly crafted, with the duck perfectly rendered, and the seasonal greens were fresh and vibrant. Paired with a well-made cocktail and a cold beer, it was the perfect meal. The service was quick and friendly, adding to the overall excellent atmosphere. At $130 for four dishes and drinks, especially considering the prime location near the Palais, it was exceptional value.

What an amazing night! The staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was spectacular but the absolute star of the night was The Ghost room with the piano player was so magical!

Been here a few times now and always impressive. Clever Asian fusion food that is always great. The spicy pork chilli wontons are an absolute must have. All the dishes have great balanced flavours and table service is friendly and attentive. Their cocktails are beautifully made and the wine list is also very good. A must go Melbourne foodie spot in my opinion. April 2025 update: Hidden away in the iconic Espy, this restaurant has its own kitchen, table staff and absolutely delivers on every level. Still an absolute must go.

Came here today for bottomless lunch definitely well worth it for $69 The pizza was delicious and the cocktails were really good great value. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back.

First visit to Flour Child, popped in and had the “Paloma share menu” - everything was spot on! The Paloma’s served in the Patron bottles was awesome as someone who is about aesthetics.. the cocktails themselves were great, nice and strong. Would absolutely visit daily to eat the Grapefruit and Hot Honey dip.. it was exceptional! The tequila pasta was nothing short of amazing, and that pinsa was divine! Super crispy and lots of flavour. The staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was perfect. Definitely found a new favourite.. highly recommend visiting! 🖤

Booked for some amazing pizza and we were not disappointed. Super tasty, fresh and amazing balanced flavours. 100% worth the visit. Cocktails were fantastic. We booked for a 6pm dinner not realising how much of a bar this was so while not ideal for young families our tween was fine and loved the music! Trendy vibe, great staff and stunning decor.

We booked in for the Pinsa Master class. This was honestly such good value for money. The quality of the food and drinks was so great. The service was amazing! A very fun experience making the pizzas. Will definitely be back for a meal soon :)!

Very cool vibes. Music was loud but not too loud. They made us 2 classic cocktails on request which were not listed on their menu which we appreciated. Highly recommend the lasagna fritters. We had the prawn pizza and the la montanga. The pizzas are very unique nearly like a focaccia bread with toppings. Recommend the prawn pizza. Whilst we were there the restaurant was hosting a group function but service was still timely. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Booked a table for 11 here and had so much fun! Food and drinks were decent and overall I believe my group had a time. Decorations were also super cute and the LEDs with the shelving worked great. We were seated in an isolated area (the first section you see when you walk in) which was fab. The biggest issue we had was that the music was so insanely loud we had to shout to hear each other. The speaker was situated right in the crook of our little corner area so its projection was crazy and we could barely hear ourselves. We requested that staff turn the music down and they completely turned off our speaker which was really nice of them. But then I think they turned up the other speakers?? Not sure but I do remember after a while it just got super loud again. With a group of 11 as well it was not the best considering we wanted to talk to each other. Staff gave decent service and brought things out quickly but they weren’t super attentive. They came to clear our plates but didn’t really check if we needed anything - such as a top up of water which honestly in a place that serves a variety of alcohol and for such a big group you’d think that staff would be more keen on distributing water and keeping people hydrated. We had to go up and find a server just to get some water refills. I understand that they were busy but we were one of their biggest groups there so it didn’t go unnoticed. Probably won’t be coming back just because of those things. I think the vibe just wasn’t really what I was after in the end but I still had a lot of fun and for those looking for a restaurant with club music that serves decent food this is the place for you.

The vegan grill set menu was fantastic. Each dish came out quick, with hardly any wait between courses, and every plate was just as good as the last. Staff were great too, clearing up promptly after each course without rushing us. I highly recommend taking a partner or a friend along, it's the perfect way to enjoy a night of outstanding vegan food together.

I had a wonderful experience at Rufio! As a coeliac, it is always such a relief to go to a restaurant that caters to us. The food and the drinks were fantastic and so tasty! The staff made me feel very welcome and were so friendly! Could not fault this establishment and would definitely come again

What an amazing experience. The food was incredible. We had the vegan set menu and we were soo satisfied. Every dish on the set menu was delicious and there was a lot of variety between dishes. The staff were so accommodating to us since we had to finish dining within an hour as we were going to a show. They brought the food out quickly and were so friendly and professional. I cannot wait to dine here again!

Where to even begin? That was the worse set menu in Melbourne my partner and I have ever had. Lamb that was tough and undercooked, chips that aren’t crispy, everything severely under seasoned, beef brisket that tasted warmed up in the microwave and then slapped on a plate to look pretty (mind you this is what was supposed to replace the failed lamb dish). Oh man, and the flatiron steak? Under seasoned and served with a cold sauce that had the potency and flavour profile of Vegemite times 50. It’s the first steak we’ve never finished and I refuse to believe anybody tasted that steak sauce and thought it was okay to send out. Calamari? Another bland experience but hey, they added squid ink to their aoili to look the part I guess. We’ve never left a restaurant that charges casual fine dining prices so disappointed. What seemed like a cute venue to eat a curated menu at online turned into feeling like we were sat in our friends patio with poor lighting as they whipped up food they they’ve never made before. What looked like pretty plating was really chefs trying to put lipstick on a pig. The only saving grace was the dessert though our mood was already ruined by that point so not even that got eaten fully. The waitress with pink hair was kind and apologetic though the manager didn’t have much to say other than they hope we give them another try in the future. Another try? I’m convinced it’s current rating here on Google is botted after the awful experience we had. Anyways, avoid at all costs to be honest. Worse set menu / chef menu in Melbourne.

Everything looked beautiful on the plate, but the taste just didn’t follow through. All the small entrees appeared promising, yet the flavors were surprisingly flat. The empanadas were a big disappointment: chewy, lacking any real taste, and left us wondering if they had been frozen. Our curiosity was high with the duck sausage, but it didn’t even taste like duck. For the quite expensive price, you expect more than just a pretty plate. Quantity takes over quality here.

Rufio is becoming our new local. Perfect for coeliacs as the entire menu is gluten free. We love steak night and the new Sunday Roast.

I loved that you can decide between the vegan or vegetarian options for things like feta and tofu/egg. Absolutely delicious brunch in a beautiful location. The broccoli and pea fitters are AMAZING!!! I may struggle to try other menu items because I just want to eat this over and over again.

I found this spot while browsing for brunch spots online and was so impressed with the meal choices! I really appreciated that there was effort put into making seemingly simple meals such as an avocado toast more interesting! Also, the service was so fast & friendly, I will definitely come back :)

We had such a great experience at Soul Sister St Kilda! The food was absolutely delicious and came out really quickly. My partner had the sweet and sour pork, and I had the jungle noodles, both were super flavourful and fresh. My noodles were incredibly tasty, the only small surprise was that I was expecting them to be really spicy, but the spice level was quite mild. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience was lovely. We’ll definitely be back!

I’m no vegetarian, if anything I love meat. Went there today for dinner and the choices of food are tempting and the flavours are fantastic. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is spot on 👌 Will definitely come back

Had the absolute pleasure of sitting at Table 1 and listen to the Head Chef work her magic. Want to specifically give kudos to how she worked during a fully booked dinner service and the way she handled it like an absolute boss, while also checking in and having a good time with her chefs and wait staff. The food was delicious as always of course!

Food was great but not spectacular, it was a chill cafe but one man (who i’m assuming is the manager after reading other similar reviews), was rude. I ordered the vegan pancake & my sister ordered some sort of an egg scramble, there was an option for a tofu scramble so my sister clarified with the staff that she wanted the egg. He looked at her & after a pause said very condescendingly “yeah, the eggs!”. He also didn’t let me pick up the menus myself after walking in, which is fine because he just wanted to bring them over to our table himself, but the way he reacted to me as I reached for the menu was off putting. The other staff were lovely & the food was good. Wouldn’t go back after that experience though.

No one could possibly dislike The Stokehouse so no need to go on about it.....except to say it probably had The Best Waiters and Waitresses I've ever known at a Corporate function. There was no delay ever in catching their attention and being provided for very promptly. And I wasn't the only person who made that observation!!

I’m giving 1 star by default as it’s not possible to rate this place with 0 star. Literally scammy vibes here… it was so enjoyable to only realize the $2 oyster deal was not available… when the bill was handed to us. Of course the waiters are not going to mention the conditions of the oyster deal at any point, while we were clearly ordering oysters for the oyster deal. We felt fooled and upset. What a great experience. Be careful it’s not a cool place although it’s in a cool spot at the sea side. To top it off, table / chairs give a fast food furniture vibe, so no chance to feel cozy or comfortable to enjoy a $20 aperol.

Our server is amazing. She was on spot, show up at the right times, gave us a in-depth description of the menu and promptly shows up to assist us all the time. We felt like we were eating at the comfort of our homes. My friend thought the food were on a small portion but food quality and taste is definitely top notch. Personal favorite is the oysters and Ricotta gnudi and pumpkin, side will be the grilled beans with almond. Will definitely return to try the other offerings on their menu.

Located just across st Kilda beach. Well lit restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was efficient and polite. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the dishes. The veal schnitzel was juicy and tender and not too oily. The gnocchi was cooked perfectly and the sauce was nice and creamy. Priced appropriately for the amazing location. So peaceful having some dinner while watching the beautiful sunset.

When we arrived, the waitress asked if we had a show to go to after dinner so that they could ensure the food came out promptly and we wouldn’t be late for our show. This was a thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated! The communication from the staff was amazing, our meals were full of flavour, stunning views and great atmosphere. Service was great! Hard to come by post-Covid times. Thanks!

Absolutely love the Sunroom is the Espy. We held an event for Melbourne Working Holiday Girls and Dakota was so attentive. He was great at the bar and looked after us. Thank you so much for such an amazing evening!

Came here with friends for lunchtime mid week drinks and this place has such a vibe. The history within the place seems to sing out to you and with all the different bars throughout the establishment its like you're in many places in one. And the bathrooms are something straight out of a Harry Potter movie. Great selection of drinks and good prices. Would definitely recommend for day drinks, and look forward to coming back to experience the food menu sometime too.

Went with some work friends and had a lovely afternoon. Eli, who was at the bar, looked after us really well and was super friendly. The sunset over the ocean was just incredible. I did find the prices quite high compared to other places in the area. I had two bottled beers and a frozen margarita cocktail, and we also shared some pizzas and chips. The pizzas were delicious.

We were having a great time at the pub- good food, great service (from Nicholas) and a great atmosphere. That soon changed when the band “Gunslinger” started playing. It was far too loud and the music choice was more suited to an RSL. Disappointing and the venue could have benefited from having a younger, modern band to create a livelier atmosphere. The newly refurbished venue needs a newly refurbished band..!!

Whether you’re looking for an intimate meal, a relaxing drink, or a late night party, you should check this place out - it’s brilliant! The decor is cosy and romantic, with dim lighting and plenty of red, surrounding the taxidermy and large giraffe coming from the walls! It certainly gives plenty to admire while sat in one of the booths or many standard tables around the bar. All the staff are really friendly and even when it’s busy service for drinks is quick. I decided to check out the restaurant in the evening and was very impressed. There’s not many tables which allows the staff to be super attentive. With the portion sizes it was also really good value - the garlic prawn starter was served sizzling hot and had so many prawns, and the barramundi main was huge, with so many chips! There certainly wasn’t a need for desert here! Everything was super tasty too and even the wine options were reasonable. As a late night club it remains a really enjoyable venue - great music with the DJ, fast bar service with good prices and open into the very early hours. It was one of my favourite spots in the city centre and I will be returning again.

A place to party or to just sit and chill in the rooftop. It has accommodation for different age groups. I did enjoy sitting at the lower patio and swaying to the music. If you want to dance then do walk towards the dance floor for some jiggy! I do think they should have more restrooms instead of the current tiny ones.

Great bar and great food here as well - we came on a Wednesday night and got the steak special for $25 which came with a glass of wine and chips/salad on the side. The steak was quite juicy, and the chips were well seasoned . We also needed to head somewhere quickly afterwards so we asked for the food to be ready quite quickly, and the staff lived up to that promise. They were all very friendly and the atmosphere of the place was lovely with the whole jungle theme going on. Definitely recommend for steak night!

The DJs here were fantastic!! Good mixture of 90s to the latest trends. We had a blast here at the Carlton for a good 2 hours. The drinks are great but the service is ok. Maybe it’s because it was Saturday night, they were packed!!! Hope next visit will be better.

Didn't eat here, just came for drinks and dancing on a girls' night out. Not very busy, but in saying that there wasn't much of a dance floor, so that was uncomfortably full. It was very hot inside, and outside on the terrace it was all enclosed and even hotter! A girlfriend of mine said the drinks tasted watered down as well (I wasn't drinking so can't confirm/deny). Would find another place to dance next time.

I’ve been coming to CC for years and have always had a pretty good time, tonight was absolutely appalling. My friend and I, and others witnessed an incredibly intoxicated bunch of people engage in sex acts and violence, from choking, hair pulling, slapping to sex. When we told the guard he went over to them and pat the bloke on the back and laughed. Unacceptable.

This place is a multi tier bar/club with 2 dance floors. We came looking for drinks and to dance and have fun. The place waxxed and waned in crowd size ranging from packed to confusingly thin between 12AM and 3AM. The bar tenders are friendly and gave quick all be it very inconsistent service and drinks. The outside specialty drinks were good and the mixologist was nice but bring a book for the 35 mins each drink takes to make. Both DJs were playing great fun danceable music but the dance floors are tiny the lower level is maybe 2 Meters by 3 meters the 2nd floor is maybe 3 meters by 3 meters. There was plenty of seating and we found spots to rest drink our drinks or even just dance in the areas lest crowded like at the tables. The outside bar had heaters but the seats were all taken and it was too cold not to be under a heater. the roof was closed probably because it was so cold. Coat check is $5 Simply put this place is nothing wildly special but the bathrooms were clean, the drinks flowed and the beats were solid. Very causal good time. The vibe was generally positive and overall felt like a safe environment. We had fun.

What a great little fins for a post theatre feed and drinkies. Just over the road from the National Theatre fortunately scored the last table and right in with a dual margarita starter. Some chips n salsas which was delicious rich and spicy. We shared a set of 3 types tacos tween us and all were delicious. Crispy not only fish, beef birria and the highlight for me was the pork. Honourable mention for the birria consomme that was one of the most flavoursome I've tasted. Good enough to drink. Top honours shared between the Margaritas and the service. You have to give this taquieria a try.

Staff is lovely, fantastic service. Music is great, good variety. I've only ordered tacos and chilaquiles and both are great, well served and easy to identify the use of quality ingredients. I am Mexican, and this feels like good Mexican tacos. Congrats! Interior design is too kitsch and uses too much cliches for my taste, but hey, there are many spots with the same vibe in Mexico too. Congrats to the owners and the staff, you are doing a fantastic job.

First time we ate here, live near by but never tried it. 10/10. Food was some of the most freshest, tastiest Mexican food we’ve had. Venue has a cool Spanish/Latin feel, waiter was great, lovely energy and super kind. Even got dessert! Will be back for sure. Thanks for having us guys.

We ordered the beef birria, pork carnitas & grilled chicken tacos. All were awesome, but the pork was definitely my favourite!

Muy buenos chilaquiles. As a Mexican, I recommend the place. The chilaquiles are pretty good. Really cool for them to have Mexican brand beer and sauces. The taco sauce and meat (carne asada) could improve a bit, but they are good as well. Just missed the Coca Cola plastic tables to match the vibe. But the tablecloth are really accurate.

Ubered the jalapeño poppers, flautas, chicken and steak tacos. Delicious! Even better than some other good places in the area. Also the poppers are gluten free which is a treat and the restaurant contacted me to advise the porkntacos were not gluten free so i could substitute something so you can trust them to take allergies seriously. Highly recommend. Be prepared for a but of a longer wait than other places but worth it.

I went with a group of friends. (6 in total). Easy to find. The venue is small and very cosy. The staff very friendly giving good service. Food was very tasty with a very good range of drinks. Loved it.

Had this banh mi with Uber Eats before, and it was nice, so we came to the shop. We had roast pork($12.5) and BBQ chicken($12.5). The BBQ chicken was better than the pork, as the pork was a bit dry and had a bit of a porky smell for me. The bread was not a tiger bun, but super crispy and light. Overall, it had a light feeling (but a big size with lots of sauce). A bit different feeling than other banh mi, so it was nice. If you dine in, they give you a fork as well, I soon knew the reason - it was overflowing. When you have a craving for banh mi, this is a nice place to go.

BEST Crispy Pork Banh Mi in Melbourne, imo. So good, we go there for lunch every Friday. Never disappoints, food is always fresh, perfect balance of ingredients and generous portion. The crackling is a stand out, perfect!!! Rice paper rolls and Pho are also highly recommended. The staff are lovely, very friendly and the shop is always clean. If I could give Bullseye Banh Mi 10 stars, I definitely would!!! Very happy customer 😀

Very disappointed, to start with place was cold so requested for a heater and they said they don’t have it. Order satay chicken with rice but got a different food. Food was good but that’s not what I ordered for. I had the same a year ago was better. I believe it is new owners as the previous owners were friendly and better food. Never going back

Still the best bánh mì in town, and somehow even better! I used to come here many times before moving to the countryside, and these bánh mìs were always top. Now, after a couple of years away, I dropped by again… and wow! Same classic flavours, crunchy bread, fresh fillings I loved, but somehow, they have taken it up and tastes even better than I remember. If you haven’t been, go. If you have, go again.

Update after 8 months – still amazing! Just look at how much pork is packed into this Banh Mi—for only $12, it’s honestly crazy value. I don’t usually even like bread that much, but once again, their baguette blew me away: crispy on the outside, soft and warm inside. The chilli is really hot, so be ready—but I absolutely love it. The quality, taste, value, and location are just unbeatable. My first visit blew my mind, and they’ve kept the bar high. Can’t recommend this place enough! - - - - - - Wow! People always talk about the kebabs next door, but when I tried Bullseye Banh Mi for the first time, it truly blew my mind. The Banh Mi is tasty and packed with toppings. The bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—I absolutely loved it. I will 100% be coming back again.

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, Chef Jode himself. He was incredibly accommodating, swiftly finding a comfortable table for our family, including our baby and almost 4-year-old "Princess 😅). This level of personal attention immediately made us feel welcome and at ease. The hospitality here is truly another level, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal. And the food? Simply the best, like at home! Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic Mediterranean flavors, fresh ingredients, and clearly prepared with passion. It was a culinary experience that genuinely impressed every member of our family. It's rare to find a place that excels so highly in both its cuisine and its customer service, especially when dining with young children. We left feeling completely satisfied. Jode’s Mediterranean Eatery in St Kilda was a real highlight of my trip around Geelong and Melbourne. The Falafel Platter and Grilled Meal with Chicken were fantastic—crispy falafel, juicy chicken, and everything tasted homemade. If visiting Melbourne, this spot is a must for a truly memorable meal!

I always look forward in visiting this place every time we're in the city! I love the Victoria market for its fresh fruits, seafoods, coffee. They also have different restaurant inside and at the back. I also bought shirts here for my nieces. They have markets for random stuffs. My most favourite area is the seafood place where all fresh seafood is in display. The prices of the oysters here is a bargain and it is very fresh. I highly recommend this place and I look forward to visiting again.

It was my first time in Melbourne, and my husband was keen to take me to the Queen Victoria Market. From 6 in the morning until 12:30, we spent the whole day exploring the market. I was absolutely thrilled by the seafood section and amazed by the incredible variety at the cheese market. The whole experience was simply amazing!

As a tourist, i find this place facinating and unique. The old design in some part of the market is really amazing, not to mention their products too... Cold cuts, cheese, coffee, breads all looks inviting. Their fresh products also amazing. And in the clothing & souvenirs section... Heaven!!! I really enjoy eating fresh oysters, mussel and american doughnuts too. Will visit again next time

We spent most of our time exploring the vegetable/fruit and seafood sections. This is a great market to purchase both raw and prepared seafood directly from the vendors. A wide variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables are available, depending on the time of your visit.

I came mainly for the hot jam doughnuts and mussels, but the market has so much more, fresh produce, seafood, meat, cheeses, souvenirs, clothing, photos, and all sorts of specialty goods. It’s a vibrant place full of sights, smells, and flavors, perfect for wandering, grabbing a bite, and picking up something unique. This was a superb find during a visit to Melbourne in May 2024. Great place in a great neighbourhood. Cozy cafe atmosphere with friendly staff. Vegan-friendly - my flat white with oat milk was delicious. Indoor and outdoor seating. Right on the tram line with many tram routes passing by. Across the street from Albert Park for those who like to sit on a park bench while enjoying their coffee. Can’t wait to return.

My wife (who is a coeliac) and I scoured the Internet in search of somewhere we could have a gluten free breakfast. Eventuality we came across Fitzrovia, which seemed to offer a good range of gluten free options just a few minutes from where we were staying in St Kilda Beach. We were not disappointed at all, great coffee, imaginative and very tasty breakfast options, really nice staff, lovely venue and brilliantly convenient. It really is one of the few places that we couldn’t rate more highly.

10% surcharge on Saturdays. We came on a Saturday morning and although it was busy, we were still able to get a table outside fairly quickly. The service for drinks was quick, in fact a second staff member asked to take our drink order. Excellent coffee. We ordered the okonomyaki and baked eggs. Okonomyaki was delicious however for me it got a bit too creamy later on amongst the batter and pork fat. Was a little hard to get a water bowl for the dogs, however eventually got one and someone even came around with treats.

The food and service was okay. I understand it was busy and that’s why the food took about an hour to come out. It also took a very long time for drinks to come out (my hot chocolate took about 20 minutes) which is why I didn’t ask for more drinks after. The service was quite nice, however we were delivered food from another table twice which was a little strange. The main reason for this rating is that the food took way too long to come out. I must say that the chili scrambled eggs were divine and I would eat that again. The steak sandwich wasn’t that great as the bread was soggy from the beetroot and my friends bread was completely burnt. The steak could’ve been cooked a bit more as it was hard to bite. The burger was also quite soggy and difficult to eat. Overall the experience was okay - not great but not bad.

Gorgeous atmosphere. Perfect spot for a catch up with friends and family. Food was superb, so much choice!! Polenta chips were a crowd pleaser...all our meals were well made with good balance of flavors. Some dishes for vegetarians too!

Ok so straight off the bat I didn't like being asked if I had a booking, who books breakfast? Also the table we wanted was reserved and sat there unused for half the time. Small grip aside this cafe was really good, lovely design and great service. The food was delicious and their spiced cacao chai was phenomenal too. Dine here, you won't be disappointed.

It's my favorite Cafe & restaurant in Fitzory St. I recommended to my friend and we tried the slow cooked Lamb shoulder with Salad was very tasty. Friendly staff and nice environment for meeting friends. They provide a special Daily Menu which is very impressive. I would love to try Fish Pie next time. Thank you ~

All the sea creatures here are fresh. We had the scallops (gosh! Amazing) and the king prawn + chilli crab (super delicious!) I will definitely return!!! You should try & drown in this seafood madness.

A solid seafood spot in St. Kilda... worth a visit if you're in the area. They don’t take bookings, so it’s a walk-in only establishment. We had a short wait for a table, but nothing too inconvenient. The menu is displayed on the wall, which isn’t the most user-friendly setup, but taking a photo made it easier to read and decide. The service was a bit slow... we waited a while before anyone took our order, and again before the food arrived. It felt a little understaffed or unorganised. That said, the food made up for it. The fish was fresh, well-cooked, and packed with flavour. Overall, a really good experience, just shy of great due to the service hiccups.

I was excited to try this place after visiting the South Melbourne Markets location. I had the Singapore Clay Pot with mussels, fish, prawns and rice in a coconut curry soup and it was delicious. The seafood was fresh and tender and the curry base was amazing too. The staff were friendly and the inside of the restaurant is so beautifully decorated. I visited in the late afternoon on a Friday when it was quiet, so unsure what it would be like on a busy night.

A late sitting meant we missed out on a few popular options (apparently it was a big jazz night), but we went with the sambal stingray and crispy John Dory. First time trying stingray — nicely cooked and delicious. Keen to come back for the creole gumbo and grilled octopus leg. The staff were friendly and super accommodating with what was left on the menu.

My favourite restaurant of all time. Still as grungey as ever but the food doesn't disappoint. Grand final day was very quiet, place probably needs a freshen up and a manager or rep to take care of community engagement so it can come back to life again. Also, chalkboard is hard for older couple who were sitting next to me to read, they got shy and left. Could tell they were there for nostalgia and didnt feel it. Loyal customers to read and should be made more convenient to read the menu. Staff also seem to avoid customers and are only helpful when engaged by a wave down.

Claypots Seafood Bar has such a cool, laid-back vibe with some of the best seafood around. The dishes are fresh, generous, and full of flavour, with a menu that really celebrates the produce. It’s the kind of place where you can relax with friends, enjoy great music, and soak up the atmosphere while sharing amazing food. Always a fun and memorable night out in St Kilda. 🦐🐟🍸

Nice restaurant, was excited to finally try this place out after hearing/reading about this place. I arrived too early for a 1.30 appointment so happy to find this place open at 11:35. I was quickly shown to a table, provided a menu and the server was anouy to leave. I asked if order would be taken at table - No, you have to order at counter hmmm … would have been courteous if she had said that at first instant, but ok. I decided nasi lemak ($13.50) sounded safe enough to try and they had sambal sotong which could be ordered extra for $6, plus teh tarik. Went to counter and ordered my food, no problem. Within 5 minutes my teh tarik appeared. Not bad. Tables were slowly filling up. The restaurant seemed to fill up left end of restaurant first instead of offering middle or right side to people coming in - just minor observations by me. Then my nasi penal arrived and I told myself: looks delicious. Took my photos of the food and drinks and started on my food. 😳😳😳 what !!?? Why was the food cold ? Is this how they serve nasi lemak here at Nanak? Even the additional siting sambal was cold. The sambal was also sweet. Becos I am on low sugar diet I am more sensitive to sugar in food. Oh dear, what do I do. ? I did not want to make a fuss. Taste was not great either. I surreptitiously watched my neighbours - they were busy chatting and seemed too engrossed in their conversations to worry about their food. is it just me? Or is this how the nasi lemak is usually served? Ahh … I was in no mood to complain or request heated food I ate what bits I could, then left - never will I return to this place. Sorry, Mamak team, hope I was just a single unfortunate customer.

Malaysian street food with a variety of different roti’s. Favourite is roti tisu which comes out like a thin cone that’s wafer thin with sprinklings of white sugar within giving it a crispy sweet texture. Choose to have it with ice cream or curry. Chicken satays are great but if were cooked on coal and not deep fried then pan fried would be better. Sambal is delicious & can buy a bottle to take home for $14. Plenty of seating & clean open restaurant. Staff friendly. Eftpos surcharge, weekend surcharge & public holiday surcharge apply.

The best roti you can find in Melbourne. Roti is made fresh to order. It’s light, flaky and chewy, and when dipped in curries and sauces, it’s the ultimate snack / meal. The desert rotis were also fantastic. Along with this, the service was amazing. Staff were all super friendly.

My first time trying Mamak was in Sydney back in 2017, and it left such a strong impression that I’ve always wanted to share the experience with my parents. So when my family visited Melbourne, I knew I had to take them to Mamak Melbourne. We ordered the chicken satay, nasi goreng, and banana roti. And honestly, the banana roti is still the must-try dish in my heart — flaky, crispy layers wrapped around warm, sweet bananas. It brought such joy to the table, especially for my mum — she couldn’t stop smiling with every bite. Seeing her so happy over a dish that holds a special place in my memory made the moment even more meaningful.

Great food and the service is Reslly attentive. We ordered the chicken skewers, tisu roti, kaya roti and roti chanai. My favourite was the tisu roti as it had a sprinkle of sugar WITHT a thin base. IVE cream was served on the side and paired perfectly. There kaya wasnt strong and tasted like orange. Roti chanai is an original and Reslly CSNT go wrong

I have been going to Republica once a week for over a year now, as they are partners with the Social Volleyball event. I always get the same items from the menu: pepperoni or brisket pizza, fried chicken and chips. The beer is always cold, the service is quick and the casual vibe during summer time is what you want. I should add a mention to the salmon tartare, really good.

We had a fantastic time over the weekend celebrating my daughter’s birthday. She wanted ocean views, and she got them! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the live music was just awesome. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful. Thank you for making it such a special day!

Enjoyed some drinks here — the atmosphere was excellent and welcoming. The presence of a live band added a vibrant and warm touch to the environment. Despite being busy, the staff remained courteous and attentive throughout.

Always wondering what is proper nasi lemak taste like,and we decided to give it a try. But this one is terible, everything is cold, the bilis have thorns, the egg cold. I hope they change the supervisor or the quality control person. Next we have gadogado and i think Better have an observation for the Gadogado first. Its not gadogado at all. Waste of money :(

Stumbled past here before watching a show at Palaris Theatre and no regrets — food was brought out fast, warm, homey, flavourful, comforting and delicious. Really enjoyed the tasty bowl of noodles and fried rice. Decently priced considering the area and decent portion size. Only concern was that it’s a little cramped in there though with the plant decoration in the way of the diners, as I had leaves brush up against me behind my seat.

I have been here a few times now and I thought I should let people know why. The food is always amazing. The service is always really great and it has such a cute vibe inside as well. Along with all of that, the prices are so good too.

Great location. Easy to get to and heaps of room for customers to sit. The owner and the works are polite, friendly and helpful. The food came out quick and was delicious. Reasonably priced. The restaurant decor is outdated and toilets are on the top floor. A bit inconvenient if you are pregnant or disable. Great selection of Asian deserts. Highly recommend.

Average food, average service, below average experience. Definitely NOT worth a return visit! Having lived in Malaysia as expats for a few years, my daughter and I wanted to enjoy Malaysian food for the first time in ages and previous reviews of Chinta Ria St Kilda had us excited. Unfortunately our evening was an absolute flop! The Ella's Wrap was lovely, but it all went downhill from there. The filling in the Lettuce Cups was bland, to say the least, and when we asked for 2 lemon wedges, we were presented with one tiniest little piece of lemon. And it was one morsel only, so we asked for another, which was literally plonked on our table as if we had offended them by asking for it. The roti tasted floury and not properly cooked, and the satay sauce served with it ... suffice it to say I make a much tastier satay sauce at home, as does the Ayam brand which is sold in supermarkets across Australia. And no, I'm neither Malaysian, Asian, or a chef, I simply know how to cook. There was nothing special about the Special Fried Rice and the Fried Koay Teow too was bland and only improved marginally once we added chili oil (also plonked on our table) which we had to ask for as there are were no condiments on the tables, including even the most basic Kecap Manis. On a positive note, the wine was delicious; but this was because they didn't make it themselves, thank gawd! Despite only being 7:30pm on a very quiet Friday night, our food was rushed with the various plates coming out at the speed of light. My request for the mains to be held back a bit so we could first enjoy what we already had on the small little table was ignored, or perhaps it was seen as a challenge to rush our food out even faster, who knows .... Perhaps the wait staff were not in the mood for working on a Friday night because the service was indifferent, to say the least. Our food, the extra lemon wedges and chili oil we asked for were unceremoniously plonked on our table without even one friendly smile or much eye contact. And this was on a quiet night. What a wonderful way to make paying guests feel like an inconvenience. Overall, we probably should have realised it was a bad restaurant choice when we walked in and saw chopsticks on the tables of a Malaysian restaurant; Chinta Ria, they do not eat with chopsticks in Malaysia! If it was possible, I would have rated our experience lower than 1-star, but we work with what we have. In short, NEVER EVER again will I insult my taste buds by subjecting them to the sub-par food of Chinta Ria St Kilda. What a waste of time, calories and money!

We booked a table for 4 at 6pm, and had to wait until 6:30 to be served to be able to order. We didn't get our food until after a little over an hour. Every time we asked the server what was happening with our order, she said she had already told the kitchen and that there was nothing she could do. And that our "food was coming". We had a show to catch at 8pm so when the food finally came, we had 10 minutes to eat and had to rush off. The food was small portions, mediocre quality, not authentic Malaysian food. And very over priced -- 30 dollars for a main that was very small and of disappointing quality. Do not recommend.

Recommended to go try the Spanish mackerel dumplings. That's what we ordered. Unusual shape, oblong instead of the normal pot sticker shape. However, the paste was very nicely done without being too dry or rough. The skin was also supple and cooked to perfection.

ShanDong MaMa is an excellent spot if you want to enjoy authentic and flavorful dim sums. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, well-prepared, and full of taste. The menu offers a good variety, and everything we tried was satisfying without being expensive, which makes it a great value for money. The atmosphere is lively and casual, perfect both for a quick bite and a relaxed meal with friends. Service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone who loves dim sums and wants a tasty, affordable dining experience in Melbourne!

Came here for their famous dumplings one late afternoon. The dumplings were freshly fried but taste wise, it was only okay. For the mackerel one, it was more like fish paste (akin to that of an Asian fish ball) rather than real fish. As for the pork and ones, the fillings were quite tough. Also, these dumplings are not sealed, meaning when you eat them the juice will just escape. Also order their tofu noodles dish (starter). It was not properly tossed and just a pile of noodles with oyster sauce and chili oil heaped on top. Unless you like the taste of oyster sauce mixed with very spicy chili oil, avoid at all cost.

Visited Shandong Mama on 4 July around 2pm and it was still bustling. Rightfully so! Absolutely delicious food and lovely service. We ordered mackerel and spinach potstickers, pork and cabbage dumplings and pork belly slices with garlic and chilli sauce. Each dish was amazing, but the potstickers were the clear winner! The owner delivered food to several tables herself and introduced herself to my partner, who is also from Shandong. Definitely worth the hype and a very personable and delicious experience.

Shandong Mama is that classic, no-fuss Chinatown spot that absolutely delivers on flavour. It’s casual and unpretentious, with a great menu to dig into. We had the cucumber dish (a favourite of mine), some fried and steamed dumplings—the squid ink steamed dumplings were the standout, packed with flavour and really tasty. The fried ones were solid too. The cold silken tofu with egg was probably my least favourite—pretty mild, but that’s kind of the nature of the dish. Overall, a great little place for a relaxed, delicious

The restaurant itself is in the building. They have a variety of Sichuan style dishes to try. We got Spicy fried chicken with dry chilli and Sichuan pepper, dumplings, and steamed pork ribs with rice. Among all three, spicy fried chicken is our fav. The food overall is okay for us

Vegan friendly dining! Plenty of options to cater for all dietary requirements. Delicious vegan zucchini dumplings, mapo tofu and veggie stir fry. The gentleman provided amazing service and are very attentive. Easy QR code ordering direct to table. Would be perfect for date night or with a few friends.

We ordered the all in set menu, which was such a great choice. It was quite pricey, but for the flavours and experience it was worth it for the special occasion. The staff were very accomodating, friendly, and on the ball with speed and a great balance of personal space and check-ins. Specifically, the sticky eggplant dish was outstanding (we ordered a half serve as it was not on the set menu). Very filling and enjoyable, would return for other special occasions in the future!!

It was a Monday night which is one of their quieter evenings. This suited us. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. Complimentary drinks were given to each of us. Nice touch. The atmosphere was warm, casual and inviting. The food was excellent. The outstanding dishes were the Kingfish sashimi and Sticky eggplant. The Striploin pared with the Broccolini was also excellent. The Salmon tartare was nice but found that it needed a bit more punch. The delivery of the food was spaced out nicely. We sat at the bar and engaged with lovely Olly, the bartender. James, our server, was engaging, attentive and very helpful in describing the dishes. The boys organised a complementary dessert with a sparkler in it, ‘Strawberry Snow’. Gosh! It was so good. An explosion of freshness in your mouth. A must try. James and Olly, you do the restaurant credit. Great service. A most enjoyable evening and would definitely recommend this place.

I honestly can’t even count how many times I’ve been here. Definitely my top restaurant in Melbie ❤️❤️ I come at least 1–2 times a month and always recommend it to friends. My absolute faves are the prawn katsu and the rainbowl bowl. The prawn katsu takes me back to eating shrimp burgers in Japan, but here they use yuzu mayo – so refreshing!!! The rainbowl (if I’m not mistaken) is a mix of kingfish, tuna, and salmon with a yuzu ponzu dressing. Super fresh and so YUM!! Lately, I’ve been loving their chocolate fondant with miso caramel ice cream. It’s such a simple dessert, but it brings back childhood memories for me. Every dish I’ve ordered here feels nostalgic in some way, and I’m so glad Tokyo Tina always delivers that experience. 🫶

Amazing Japanese fusion restaurant in Melbourne! The dishes were creative and beautifully presented. Every bite was full of flavor. The atmosphere was modern and cozy, and the staff were super friendly. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city!

The service here was friendly and patient. All of the dishes were excellent however the duck udon lacked the rich flavour profile that the other dishes presented. The passion fruit margarita was not great for the price. I would highly recommend the rainbow rice bowl as it was fresh and delicious! The duck bao had plenty of meat and was filling.

I first visited Tokyo Tina about 7 years ago—and I’ve been returning ever since. After nearly a decade on Chapel Street, it’s clear why this spot continues to thrive. The food, the energy, the interiors… everything is consistently on point. The interiors perfectly complement the playful, street-style Japanese menu. A bold shopfront covered in peeling manga posters sets the tone. Inside, raw timber battens, inky murals of Tokyo traffic, and strings of glowing globes create a space that feels like a moody laneway behind an anime store. Even the bar section, with its crumbling walls adds to the gritty-cool aesthetic—designed by Samantha Eades & Wendy Bergman. What really sets Tokyo Tina apart though is the service. Staff are warm, attentive and genuinely care—checking in often but never intrusively. It’s that rare kind of hospitality that makes you feel looked after from the moment you walk in. The food has remained consistently excellent over the years. We ordered the spiced edamame, kingfish sashimi, crispy sticky eggplant, karaage chicken, prawn katsu milk buns, and miso baked cauliflower—all absolutely spot on. I’d order every single one again without hesitation. Whether you’re planning an intimate dinner or a big group catch-up, Tokyo Tina is always a good idea. I’m eyeing off their Bingo Academy next (every Saturday!)—it sounds like such a fun night

Had such a lovely meal here with a friend recently! The food was absolutely delicious – especially the eggplant dish, which was a standout. The cocktails were fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. Service was also excellent – our server was super lovely and made us feel really welcome.

I first visited in 2019 and it was one of those dinners & taste sensations you’ll always remember. Fast forward to 2025 I got to go back and the memories & the food were still the same. I love it here and I’ll always come back. The bag of beans, the roasted cauliflower, I dream of these 🤤 Go - you won’t regret it!! Eat it all 🤤

So good! Not a first timer for this round and still amazed at the fact that the food here is consistently good. We arrived just before 12, did not wait for a table. Staff were lovely. Ordering opens at 12pm. Got two of the lamb kebabs and the deep satisfaction. We all loved our meals. The lamb was just spicy and the tahini sauce is addictive. The cauliflower is a whole other level altogether. It’s soft but mushy, salty and savoury and just to die for. Highly recommend.

Fantastic middle eastern restaurant in the Melbourne CBD. On Friday it was empty at 1130, packed at 1230, with a happy, noisy and energetic crowd. Terrific menu, with great range of options. The pitta range is the go to, with amazing flavours and generous fillings. The staff were great - friendly, professional and attentive. A must do on your next visit to Melbourne.

I come here quite regularly as the food is always tasty, fresh and consistent in terms of flavour and quality. I usually get the Rotisserie Chicken Pita or Golden Fish Pita, and sometimes with a side of Mezze. Both the chicken and fish are very tasty, the chicken is a little bigger and heavier if you are hungry and the fish is really soft, well cooked, and filled with flavour. The bread here is awesome, really soft and perfectly flavoured. Service is very fast and the setup inside is simple but nice.

I was very positively surprised by the food quality. As the restaurants in the hardware lane seem Super touristy I didn’t expect much. But it was absolutely delicious, I ate way too much but feel comfortable and happy afterward. Bella the waitress was so friendly and made us feel like old friends coming to the restaurant. Atmosphere sitting outside is lovely and not noisy at all. I recommend: - Pita salad - Schnitzel - cauliflower

Shared the shawarma, baked eggplant and chickpeas, mezze and baked cauliflower last night. Probably the best meal I’ve eaten in Melbourne in a long time. Super healthy and filling. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Staff were really attentive and friendly, even letting us split the bill which is a rarity these days. Highly recommend!

Simple and tasty sharing plates, streetside seating, live music on Friday night along Hardware lane.. Must order the Cauliflower, and lamb carpaccio!!! Great for a casual night out. Recommend sitting outside to enjoy the hustle and bustle.

Cocktails are amazing, food was great, and the small finishing touches with the ice cube branding was a great addition. Food was delicious and there were plenty of options. The overall meal and drinks were quite expensive, but not unreasonable given the quality and service. Staff were great and overall it was really enjoyable.

We went there. Food was awful. Pizza was burnt, lasagna was cold, very small in portion and very old. Not fresh. I told the lady about that, she said that she had talked with manager. The manager didn't excuse at all! They charged us fully with no excuse! It was my worst experience in Melbourne ever. Don't believe this much disrespect. With I could put negative point.

Glad that I Carusi is totally back in form… I first started going here when it opened in the mid 2000’s… back then I took my girlfriend, now I am taking her and our two kids! Calamari fritti for entree perfect. Pizza was so spot on , even the GF base was awesome. And the pasta was also delicious .. I was profoundly insulted by my experience at your establishment. The attitude displayed toward us was nothing less than outright rude and disrespectful. On Monday night, six of my friends and I ordered seven pizzas. Despite arriving before other customers, we waited over 30 minutes for our food in an environment that was not particularly busy, while others who arrived later were served ahead of us. When the pizzas finally arrived, two were severely undercooked. We politely requested that the staff cook them further, but no apology was offered. Instead, the pizza maker gave us a look that clearly conveyed displeasure with our request. After another extended wait, the pizzas returned, completely burnt. It was evident at that point that the pizza maker had taken offense to our initial request and deliberately served us burnt food. This behavior was not only highly unprofessional but also shocking. What was more disturbing was that none of the staff intervened, and the burnt pizzas were still served to our table. Feeling humiliated, we decided to leave. When we informed the staff that we would only be paying for the food we had actually consumed, they insisted we pay for the entire order, treating us as if we were being unreasonable. Throughout this entire ordeal, there was not a single apology. Ultimately, the manager agreed to remove the burnt pizzas from the bill, and we left. This experience left us feeling deeply disrespected and disappointed. It is unfortunate that, while many loyal customers are noticing the decline in quality and turning to other pizzerias easily, your establishment has chosen to respond with such a dismissive and unprofessional attitude. It is regrettable that this is the direction your restaurant has taken

I loved the movie in the wall too - very cute Really amazing staff - our waiter was lovely and so friendly Pizza was really large - our friends ordered one each pasta was good but not a large size in fact more like an entree than a main The drinks were good too and the prices not totally expensive but let’s face it ….in melbourne eating out is not cheap - I felt this place gave good value for money Def revisit again as it was very good

This spot always come out as recommended place for a late night meal. Came here on a Saturday and luckily wasn't packed. They serve a whole bunch of meat and the place is nice and vibey. We got the burger and the special of the day which was the french dip. The burger was decent, nothing special, but done right. The french dip is what I enjoyed. The meat was nice and tender and the jus gave it more depth. I enjoyed our meal here and would recommend for late night cravings. It's a bit pricey for the serving size tho.

Enjoyed the experience here. Coeliac safe gluten free options, as long as you don’t have any of the gf bread options. Very fresh tasty Greek salad, lovely chips, friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Generous portions for a very reasonable price. Recommend.

The place is quite basic and lacks ambiance. The food is simple—though I’ll highlight the pastrami sandwich, which was tasty. However, the steak & eggs were disappointing, especially for a meat-focused venue; the dish was underwhelming and poorly presented. For the same price, you can find better options elsewhere easily. It’s fine for a quick snack or casual bite with low expectations or for a meal after a big night out, as mentioned in most reviews. Service is fast and friendly, but there are no restrooms—you need to use the pub next door. It’s clear most regulars are local workers grabbing a simple meal. I ended up here by chance and wouldn’t return or recommend it. At night, it turns into a bar with tapas until 1 a.m., but I’ll leave my comments there.

Tried this place with my boys on the way to the footy Friday night. Was easy to find a seat as we were early. Son had the steak sandwich and the rest of us had the cheeseburger with bacon. Both said was the best they had ever eaten. Chips were brilliant as well. Will definitely be back.

This was my son’s recommendation, after I told him there was nowhere good to eat lunch in the city and that I was heading to Fitzroy for a burger. What a great diner, and what a great recommendation! This simple, clean and vibrant diner brings quick and efficient service, a great menu and fantastic food. I had the simplest item on the menu, the hamburger (no risks taken here). It was one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly, full of flavour and with an excellent bun. Every bite was a joy. Mostly shred counter seating inside, but well suited to the venue. Plenty of outdoor dining on the picturesque’Paris’ end of Bourke St. well worth a visit.

Dear Reader, for the love of god, go here! I cannot enough express my emphatic recommendation. I came here late at night with my girlfriend, hoping for a late night snack. Each bite was incomparable. It was a million org*sms. It was a look into the future.  It was like biting in the sun and a million golden rays comforting the world. It was only a cheeseburger and I will be dreaming about this for years to come. Godspeed.

Fantastic late night dinner. Staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable. I accidentally stacked my chips but they replaced and I was very grateful. Great atmosphere and the food was tremendous. Blood sausage devilled egg roll was sublime!

Having a early lunch, order signature boat beef noodles, but there was some pork in my soup just wonder if it’s normal, taste still good, but what I have in Sydney city for $6 something would be no different. And then I order pork belly was very disappointed for the taste and tastier: it’s cold and hard no good deep fried pork skin smell, hard to chew, meat part are not tender and feel powdery should be thinner slice.

I went to this restaurant on Friday around 8 PM and waited about half an hour for a table. The food was amazing, tasting just like in Thailand. They even have authentic tuk-tuk decorations inside. The restaurant was quite busy with lots of customers and staff, but it added to the lively atmosphere. The restroom inside is very spacious. The menu is diverse, mostly focusing on Isaan dishes.

Food was very good but the Thai food scene in Melbourne is so good these days that it didn’t wow me as much as I hoped it would. But it was still good and worth another visit. I wished the prices were a bit better for the portion size though. Atmosphere is 10/10. I felt like I was in Thailand. Service is also really good and despite there usually being a line, it moves at a decent pace.

Typical Asian restaurant, service isn't a priority, which is absolutely fine. The food is EXCELLENT. Had the raw shrimp salad, fried intestines and ox tongue. The shrimp was super fresh and the salad sauce was not fishy. Ox tongue is superlative! Grilled to tender perfection and went well with the flaked salt and crushed garlic condiments. Fried intestines were also crunchy and fresh. Would definitely return if I go to Melbourne again.

I just LOVE this place so much. The food tastes so good and the service is really quick. I also liked the atmosphere because it had a tuktuk and street food stalls as their paying counter which I found was very creative. If you ever visit Melbourne CBD you should definitely try Soi 38!!

I ordered beef boat noodle. it was standard for me. My brother ordered tom yam noodle, he likes it. He came twice just to eat the same dishes. The beef ball was ok, the coffee was standard, I prefer Vietnamese one. Overall ok

A cool little place down the alley, has alot of potential but sadly the crispy pork and crying tiger were very dry and had no hint of moisture. The prawn entree was great though, plenty of flavour. Overall had potential to be good but didnt hit the mark. Have had alot better in the city.

The best vegan deli in Melbourne, full stop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve been here twice now on Sunday Collingwood walks, street art and coffee hopping, and each time we ended up here — and for good reason. The space nails the Melbourne vibe: natural light, cool art on the walls, uplifting music, high tables, shared tables, take-away counter, even boutique wines in the fridge. You can pick meals straight from the glass window, grab vegan cheeses, take-home dishes, bar snacks, and more. The menu is fully vegan but so tasty you could bring non-vegan friends and they’d never miss a thing. We’ve had the frittata, pumpkin pie, and vegan duck leg — all amazing. The desserts are next level: vanilla custard slice, chocolate croissants, donuts, caramel popcorn, baked cheesecake, and that red velvet with cream… unforgettable. This is everything you want in a Collingwood/Fitzroy café: fun, funky, foodie, and not to be missed.

Sandwiches are generous and so flavorful. I had the shnits creek and it was really good, I’d get it again but keen to try all the other fillings. Coffee was very good and the cardamom doughnut was so good, the texture needs to be tried to be believed, so soft, and cardamom flavor is very very subtle, which was lovely. The standard of food is very high consistently. Lots of seating and parking on a Saturday wasn’t too bad.

A review in one word? LOVE. This place is always rocking and I've never had a bad experience! Went with a friend over the weekend - we lined up around 11:45am and they'd already sold out of quite a few options. Hey, when you're that popular, it's a good problem to have! We ordered two different sandwiches, but after we'd ordered, one sold out, so we ended up with two of the same. No complaints though - the flavours were absolutely delicious! This place is like a plant-based eater's dream: pastries, sangas, brekkie, plus deli-style condiments you can take home. It's really a great experience and feels so Melbourne. It gets pretty busy so there's not always a seat available straight away, but with the flow of people coming and going, space opens up pretty quick. If you're thinking about it, just get in there and try it! You won't regret it.

What a refreshing change to go somewhere with so much choice that’s all vegan and tasty. It puts to shame those cafes that can’t tussle up one decent choice to plant based lovers. I’m considering moving to Collingwood just to be closer.

Been coming here for years with my partner and trekking across Melbourne (even with our newborn baby recently) to get a vegan feed! It’s great for vegan meat and dairy alternatives however as OG wiggum fans we miss the old sandwiches so much but the sweets are unreal and it’s making us try other things on the menu now 😆 Also the staff are amazing and always so friendly!

I've been waiting a long time to visit here and finally got my chance. I ate too much as I wanted to taste it all. Everything was delicious, vibes were top tier and service very friendly. I can't recommend it enough. Oh did I mention I visited two days in a row? When it's this good you come straight back for more.

Played pool here which was super fun! However they didn’t have any moscato and I’m not a drinker so that was annoying as it’s the only thing I would drink. Buuut the atmosphere was fun I liked all the weird little things around the bar! Would probably visit here again.

Seriously guys. It’s 11pm on a Friday night. You have a live music act on. The footy finished an hour ago. Yet you have the giant screen with footy commentators and replays dominating the space. In the first instance, it’s disrespectful to the artists playing. In the second instance, it’s offering zero to patrons. Turn the goddamned footy post-game off. It’s ridiculous.

I visited here on a recent trip to Melbourne, and it fast became an evening staple. Great place, friendly staff and absolutely adored meeting the local dogs 💕. The potato gems were so delicious. We will be back when we return to Melbourne

Top quality food, and it’s great to see some Sri Lankan dishes on the menu. Friendly staff, great service, and a nice vibe in the beer garden. The only letdown was the cocktails, my Long Island Iced Tea was quite weak and lacked alcohol.

Food service and atmosphere overall was 5 star. Sri Lankan Chicken burger was super nice. Nachos were a tad too hot...

Had an amazing night for my birthday on Saturday night. All staff we accomodating and friendly. I’ve had plenty of good nights here but this particular night there was one staff member, I think her name was Emilia, she went above and beyond to ensure our night was fun. She was selling shots but didn’t feel like that, she would come round and check in on our night and was really friendly. Couldn’t rate this venue and friendly staff any higher!! Great night

Wonderful place to sit and rest with a devine cocktail. Only had a snack but it was delicious. Came back a couple of nights running for a few night caps as just around the corner from our accommodation. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere clean and comfortable space. Seating ranges from standard bar stall to comfy couches and large lounge chairs. Came back at 1am after a concert and this place was packed but we still found a comfy lounge to settle in a have a few of the amazing cocktails.

Great venue and location I the CBD. Premium venue with a beautiful bar and layout . It is right opposite the sky bus terminal so I always visit it before going overseas . I love the lay out and the variety of machines . I always look forward to going there . Also there is a very rich selection of beverages

Attended for trivia night it was small but fun. Christiana was a great host. All the better as our team won for the first time ever! We will be back to use our voucher in 2 weeks! Would love a few healthy salads to be on the menu? The pizzas are great value though and the burgers looked amazing but too much for me, whilst others ordered and enjoyed.

Have been here a few times when visiting Melbourne. This trip I ordered spaghetti with chilli and brocollini first night (forgot pic) and next night ordered cauliflower and kale salad which was delicious about $25 each.

Stumbled here by chance, I got lost, (phone WiFi played up), and was rushing back to watch the 2025 BL v Geelong GF. I stopped right here at the front to check the time, and noticed that to my left looking through the window, the hotel bar/restaurant are underground. It had a nice vibe and looked clean so I bolted in. There is a security guard upon entry but very helpful and welcoming. Overall, great experience, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Definitely will visit again next year.

One of my favorite places ever in Melbourne. Great food (vegan or not you'll love it) great spaces and outside seating with a relaxing view on the Covent garden, and friendly staff. Some live music on the morning during breakfast.. How can you start your day better than with a sunny musical healthy breakfast?

Been to this place with a friend of mine who was from Estonia. We visited this place twice and enjoyed a nice vegetarian meal together. However, back then I did not understand the whole concept of this place, though we dinned and provided a fair donation. It is nice to have a place as such where people can contribute the underprivileged community in Australia.

Cozy restaurant in the heart of Abbotsford Convent with a relaxed atmosphere set among greenery. Staff is friendly, efficient and helpful in explaining the pay-as-you-feel model. The vegetarian Indian food is fantastic. My favourite was the coconut chutney that accompanied the dosa. It was spicy but the potato in the dosa balanced it nicely. Will continue to visit.

Located in an abbey/convent. Went here on a friend's recommendation. Lunch buffet had 2 types of salad, curry and tofu bake. Desert banana cake in plum syrup. I personally loved the food selection and had 2 full plates. Pay is by donation (suggested $15). Will definitely be back

We had our wedding at Lentil and all I can say is I couldn't ask for more... The staff went out of their way to spruce up the place and serve our guests. The music was good. The food was great! Our guests loved it. Some even said that they never thought vegan could be that good. Lol. Special thanks to Carlos and Param for making everything go smoothly. Love you guys. Wonderful rustic burgers. The burger was in a perfect bite size. Tried the Alternate Beast and 8Bit original with sides of Sweet Potato and normal chips. Love the toasted buns as it added extra crisp in each bite. Love the outermost part of the patty as it was dry and roasted. The bun was soft and sweet. Tasted pretty nice. A nice burger meal overall.

Lovely main street American style burger joint. Great location, however the seating leaves a lot to be desired, it's not the most comfy, I might lean more towards takeaway here. Loaded fries are a must have, it sounds like it'll be over powering but it ends up as a good balance. Very traditional styled American burgers but done well. Not too bad on value but a little pricey AND there is a credit card surcharge - be warned.

Had the Altered Beast. A very good burger and the patty was cooked a perfect medium. The beef patty was a bit thin, though... I would have preferred a thicker patty with more juice. The onion rings was beer battered but very tasty with the right amount of saltiness.

Moist, well cooked patty, nice balance of ketchup and mustard. The bun was fresh. Salad was crisp. It's a solid burger. Chips were well seasoned. Very good. This place can get busy and seating is limited. Consider yourself warned.

My favourite place along Royal Stacks and The Gem to get a burger. I always go for the 8 -bit with cheese and the chilli fries and a coke which sets you back about $20. It's consistently good, but there can be a bit of a wait when it's busy.

This has become one of the top burger place on my list. I love the simple and yet delicious burgers. Very similar to those famous burger franchise in US. Juicy and tender beef patty, fresh tomatoes and onions and those melted cheese. YUMS!

Had been meaning to try them out for ages given their reputation, so had pretty high expectations. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Ordered the After Burner and Potato Gems. Wait time was about 10 minutes and they brought my order to where I was sitting. The potato gems were good, but I'm pretty sure they were straight from the frozen McCains bag (but hey, still tasty and crunchy). The burger was ... ok. Patty was moist and well seasoned, bun was soft and fresh, and salad was crisp. However, the mustard completely overpowered everything else so it was hard to tell what the underlying taste was like. Sadness. Would I go back? Yes, but would probably order something else.

First of all, I'd like to thank the staff for their warm welcome and excellent service. I was excited to find halal Nashville chicken in Melbourne. However, the experience fell a bit short of my expectations—but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the food. I tried the tenders with Traveller Spice (mild). The flavour was decent, but the breading could be crispier. I’d rate it 6/10. I also recommend getting ranch sauce on the side for dipping. I wouldn’t recommend the coleslaw, as it wasn’t to my taste. I prefer a sweeter version, whereas this one was quite the opposite. Rating: 2/10. The buffalo burger was the highlight of the night—the sauce, cheese, and overall flavour were deliciously messy. Rating: 8/10. Overall, the experience wasn’t bad, just not quite what I expected. However, I’d love to visit again and try different menu items. Second visit on 12th of Feb 25, got all good stuff deal $60 for two, the amount is good but I believe the breading could be better. The service was slower this time than the first visit.

My friends and I came here for the first time, and the staff were super friendly and provided great service. We ordered the Belles Bucket with the Traveller flavor — it had a nice, balanced taste, not too spicy, and gave off a real American-style fried chicken vibe. I really liked the pickles on the side — they went perfectly to cut through the richness. The side dishes like salad, fries, mashed potatoes and corn cheese were the best! Everything tasted amazing together. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

My girlfriend struggled to pick a place to eat at for atleast an hour, my lord am i glad it landed at Belles. As soon as i walked into the establishment i was amazed by the decor and music. Really felt like i was taken to a totally different timezone, it was amazing and really felt unique, absolutely nailed it. The food we got was great aswell, the chicken was done great and was delicious especially with the sauce. Staff were really fast and didnt have to wait at all pretty much. I cannot suggest this place enough, just do yourself a damn favour and go to Belles. PS can you send me merch?

We came here for a date night and it was so good we brought our friends back a few weeks later! The chicken is amazing (the nashville tenders are the best) and we LOVED the mac n cheese. The interior is really cool too and gives an American diner style of eating. Definitely will be coming back again. :)

Vibes are immaculate. Food was delicious. I love that they have a small menu because you don’t have to waste time trying to decide what to get. Went in with my mum & sister & we all walked out happy. Burgers were 10/10!!!! Best burgers I’ve had in a long while. But, the wings that we ordered in the spice level which was the 3rd option (can’t remember which one) felt very unseasoned. It didn’t taste like anything at all, and that was a bit disappointing. The fries, however, were so good! Crinkle cut, crispy, soft all at the same time. Loved them. Waiting time was about 7 minutes. And nobody even looked our way at the waiting area the whole time. Would have appreciated a bit of acknowledgement, but considering the fact that only one attendant was rushing to and from tables, it was understandable i guess. I’d definitely go again for the fries and burgers!

However, every so often, a place like Riché on Church St. in Richmond surprises me. At first glance, the exterior is quite modest, but stepping inside reveals a vibrant atmosphere filled with lively conversations and a bustling crowd. It’s clear this spot is a favorite among locals and visitors alike, as every table was occupied when we arrived. Fortunately, we managed to secure a table for two, but I quickly realised how fortunate we were given the restaurant's popularity. The staff were exceptionally attentive, greeting us with complimentary sparkling water and our coffee within moments of being seated. Speaking of coffee, it was truly remarkable—so good that I would happily return just for that. Now, let’s rave about the food. Each dish we tried was a revelation, bursting with flavor and fusion originality that had us planning our next visit before we even finished our meal. The standout was the "prawny business," a delightful laksa featuring coconut prawns and steamed rice wrapped in a silky scrambled egg. We also enjoyed the "pumpkin king," which paired pulled pork with a crunchy pumpkin croquette and a delectable hollandaise sauce—absolutely top-notch. To finish, we also indulged in French toast served with vibrant fresh fruit. And I can't forget to mention the coffee again; it truly was exceptional. We also tried the Detox green, which was so good we could not believe it was healthy. The prices are extremely reasonable and overall, an unforgettable brunch experience for us. This place is an addiction-forming eatery and a must for anyone. 👌

Excellent coffee and Great menu- so hard to choose! Had the Turkish eggs with beans, added a little more chilli, fresh herbs were added deliciousness and the pickled onion added piquancy. Their menu is extensive and offers lots of different choices. We had: 🍤 The Prawny Business – $24 Panko-crumbed prawns, curry laksa chilli scrambled eggs, spring onion, chilli, coriander, served on jasmine rice 🍬 The Sweet Date – $21 Roti fritters, banana, berries, date caramel sauce, roasted almonds, taro coconut ice cream, rose fairy floss Both dishes were delicious. The curry laksa chilli scrambled eggs were full of flavour and spice, and the crumbed prawns were perfectly crunchy. The roti fritters paired well with the mix of fresh fruits and the taro ice cream. Have been twice now, first up: best coffee I’ve ever had. And that’s saying something considering this is Melbourne. It is just so perfectly creamy but rich and full in flavour and not bitter at all – and I get skinny milk. Super impressive! Second majorly good point: it has reasonable prices. I feel like so many cafés have jumped on the bandwagon and hiked up their prices disingenuously. This place is different. All the menu food items are a good $4-$5 cheaper than 99% of other cafés these days, you don’t feel like you’re being totally ripped off just buying an eggs benny and a coffee. Thirdly, the food is pretty good :) Good portions and tasty, can’t complain. It also has come out very quickly the two times I’ve been on relatively busy weekend brunch/lunch times. It’s nice and bright with natural lighting in there, decor is not fancy but it’s still got a nice enough feel, and you can easily hear yourselves talk. This will continue to be my go-to in the area.

The Windsor Alehouse sits proudly near the corner of Punt and Dandenong Roads. Easy parking along the south side of Peel Street. Loads of variety in specialty ales. Menu offers standard pub grub. Steak was perfectly cooked. There's mid week specials worth seeking out and a trivia night that's a great place to meet locals. Cosy vibe inside and relaxed street side dining make this venue worth seeking out.

Proper pub between Windsor & St Kilda, they have an incredible range of beers on tap, big on sports so plenty of screens and their food is fantastic. Have tried their Sunday roast which is a classic British feed and their Parma is a huge, crispy edition packed with flavour. Staff are all very friendly and it’s just a good day or night out.

Have been coming to this pub for trivia for a while and it has always been excellent. The staff are fast and friendly, the food is good and the menu changes regularly enough that you don't get bored. There are also plenty of vegan/vegetarian options and they are very clearly marked on the menu. The vegan cheeseburger is particularly delicious. Trivia is also lots of fun and the host Harrison is fantastic.

Walked past many times but thought I'd stop by that evening. Pretty good IPA and burger too. Was trivia night. Someone placed a pint on my table, no idea who, so I just left it alone. See you next time.

Expected some pretty basic brunch food but was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it all was. The chicken salad was really good - much more complex than it sounds and had a lot going on. Individual components were great too like the rosti being crispy with a good smoky flavour and slaw was light and had a good tang which really balanced it all out nicely.

A great hidden gem find tucked in a quiet corner off Chapel Street, we went for brunch and was so impressed by the food & service that we returned for dinner! A humble, aesthetic and cosy cafe & wine bar with a good selection of food at surprising affordable prices. We were served by some of the most passionate and kind staff❤️

Scandi-style brunch spot. Great little café in Windsor with delicious coffee and really good vibes. Menu leans a bit unique compared to your usual brunch places- had the ham hock Benedict, which came as a smaller plate but with a tasty, fresh twist. Nice atmosphere overall, worth a visit if you’re after something different but still casual.

From the moment we walked in, we loved Öppen! Garvin, the wonderful waiter is the kindest, friendliest and most wonderful waiter that we have come across is Melbourne. An absolute gem! The ambient lighting in Öppen was so great for our date night. With beautiful interior design and furniture throughout. We loved every single meal, the flavour combinations were 10/10. Tight space and was very loud, we couldn’t hear each other across the table. Wouldn’t recommend if you wanna chill or catch up with a friend. Food was OK but the coffee and the chai were quite bland, we could only taste milk (nice consistency though!). We also waited 15 minutes for our drinks… Maybe they can have more staff over the weekend since it was a full house.

Probably the best steak I've had in 2025. Very well cooked. Very well seasoned. The bed of spaghetti carbonara was amazing. The dish was a little on the small size, but I left feeling satisfied.

Nice on its own or as a starter. 🔴 Bolognese Arancini With Parmesan and Truffle Mayo Classic arancini balls, fun to eat with nice complement from the perfect level of truffle in the mayo. 🍕 Chili Prawn Pizza & Margherita Pizza The woodfire pizza were legit! The dough was nicely chewy with crispy outer texture. Great amount of toppings to create a perfect bite with every slice. As the name suggested, this place was converted from a Post Office 💌 Located outside of the Richmond station, the historical landmark was very easy to spot. This is the place to go for a casual meal & drinks with friends or date! We got to try their new menu and the items we picked were incredible! Such high quality food from a not-so hidden gem 💎 We definitely recommend you to visit, especially on a sunny day cause you can enjoy the weather outside or the warm ray from the windows ☀️

What’s been a great place to head before and after the MCG and a great drop in for after work drinks sadly over time the postman has gotten distracted. Favourite pizza options have dropped off and a slow uptake against all the new Cremorne hotspots have left an old favourite behind.

The pizza is incredible 10/10. The dough and base is yum and very fresh. The bocconicini/margarita pizza is amazing and tasty. Prices are cheap. And the staff and atmosphere nice and relaxed.

Was staying local and noticed they did gluten free pizza so headed in for food. Nice little place, worked well for me on my own as well as groups of people. Food was lovely, all their pizzas were available gluten free. Well worth a visit if you're on the area and dietary challenged.

The worst food, left over salad from the backpackers, anyone can make much better at home or anywhere. Sliders are like one piece of long life roast chicken from Cole’s. About 20g meat in each slider. Would expect better in a third world country restaurant. Peak hour, at 7pm the kitchen closed for staff break till 8pm… great timing for a 7pm reservation no warning.

Nice place for brunch, staff friendly and food arrived promptly. Nice atomosphere, only gripe was my wife doesn’t like eggs and the breakfast/brunch menu was heavily loaded with items containing egg, but she took the fritters with eggs on the side , so more for me 😂

My mate told me they've been around for a long time now. Back in the day, there weren't many Mexican places to eat at, and it was a generous portion compared to how tiny it was. I personally do feel like they can do better with their portion compared to the price paid. They are located very close to the beach and a happening street in St. kilda. It had a very happening vibe with all the restaurants in that strip. I ordered their burrito bowl with grilled chicken and hot flavour, although I had to put in habanero sauce to make it according to my taste. I did like the taste of the food, but I feel like they should rearrange their seating area inside to make it look more inviting .

Stopped here for a quick lunch during a sunny day on the weekend, we stayed in their outdoor area in the street, a little uncomfortable but quiet. Their pulled pork burrito was giant and quite tasty, but my absolute favorite was the chicken quesadilla with guacamole, I definitely recommend that!

Service was excellent, cashier was very friendly, decor was lovely. But my gosh the burrito was bland. I got the bay city bomber and the meat had very little flavour. Felt like it was barely spiced or seasoned. The burrito felt like it was mostly rice and lettuce. I had even ordered the hot version and it was very bland till the very end when a bit of chilli came up. The filling tasted mostly of the white sauce used and cheese. I felt like I was eating plain cheese. Unfortunately the burrito flavour drags everything down. Yes the place is nice, lovely staff and the lettuce and veggies tasted fresh. Guac was lovely but my gosh the whole thing tasted bland and single noted. Honestly zambrero or Guzman do a better job 🥲

Hands down the best burrito I’ve ever had. Had heaps of protein for a very reasonable amount. Really good value for money and exceptional taste. The staff were very nice and the owner was such a kind soul and we had a great chat. Definitely will visit again!

Food took over an hour and a half to arrive on a Sunday night. Burrito was completely tasteless and unseasoned. I don’t reccomend

Dined at the Hawthorn location which has unfortunately closed down but great that they are still open in the St Kilda location. Had the grilled lean steak street taco and their signature enchilada style burrito. The taco consisted of two layers of tortilla wraps with melted cheese and had a generous amount of steak which was flavourful but required a lot of chewing. Sauce was tangy and quite spicy. As for the enchilada style burrito, I decided to have chicken for the protein which was definitely the right choice since it was nice and tender. The sauce topping was creamy and savory, a key component which made the burrito so enjoyable. It was also very filling as there was more chicken then the rice and beans (I'm guessing maybe 70 percent meat inside the burrito). Overall the meal was tasty and portion size was definitely worth the price. Only minus was the tough beef on the taco. Will need to make another visit to try out some of the other dishes.

The Spud bar in St. Kilda is the best one! The food is plentiful, very delicious and never raw or cold. Chiken Parma is the best and that is my favourite. Salt and pepper available on the table and it's important if someone eats more salty than others. If you eat in they serve the food in normal plate with normal cutleries. No plastic and paper waste. Environment friendly. The restaurant is clean and nice. The service is very good, always fast and the guy is extremely kind! I am coeliac so extra stars for them bc the place is 100% coeliac safe.

Since trying out spudbar recently I am noticing them all over the place. I had a short window for lunch so this was a quick option for someone warm that was ready in one minute. Solid choice

On recommendation this was our first time visit for us and because of the pandemic we opted for a take-away and, on such a lovely day, we had spud lunch at the nearby Botanical garden. My vegie spud, a Chili Bean Salsa, was amazingly delicious. Excellent place for vegans/vegetarians and super friendly customer service. For a healthy meal this place is hard to beat.

Not recommended! Just went for a pulled pork spud and it was such a waste of money…. They shred pork into a lot of sauce and when they give it to you it’s just basically a lot of sauce and a lot of baked potato and sour cream… not sure why they’re doing this bearing in mind that I had a better experience in this place before…

I don't know expected more after reading some reviews. Also the chicken apparently is "RSPCA approved" whatever that means but it really tasted like the cheapest chicken around. the texture is like cardboard. Super airy. Have a look at the picture. That my friends, is not high quality meat. 😝 Also the diced bacon was cheap as chips. Probably a better place for vegan and vegetarian options. I won't be coming back though. ps. had the "Chicken Parma" bowl.

The portion sizes don’t even come close to matching their pictures on Uber eats. I ordered the pulled pork and there was very little to be found in the meal.

I work in hospitality so im pretty lenient with mistakes but this is the third time now from this particular spudbar. Ordered two spuds, my friends arrived perfect and hot with melted cheese. Mine was stone cold, cheese wasn’t melted even slightly and i had ordered extra cucumber, corn chips and quinoa and asked for no spring onion. Not a single extra I ordered was included and they hadn’t read the note about spring onion and included that. Tried to reorder cause hey, mistakes happen (even though uber dockets are pretty obvious and its hard to miss changes to orders) and im hungry for a hot potato i can actually eat and they cancelled the order. Was pretty loyal to this spudbar but I doubt i’ll order again.

This place is very dangerous parking for your car. When yes we arrived, 1 slot was free without indicating that it was for a short car. The place is angular, and in order not to hang out at the turn, we leaned forward. But the stopper is very far from the curb, which was not visible. When we left, the bumper vomited, the bottom and oil flowed. Trying to fix it to get out of here

Terrible service with incredibly slow and incompetent workers. Employees here are constantly chatting and laughing with each other as well as gossiping in front of customers waiting. Takes them 20+ minutes to organise a bottle of water or 1 drink and you still have to remind them and correct your order. Pathetic service and this chain needs a serious overhaul. Dreadful and disgraceful.

I purchased 2 large strawberry thick shakes and one large orange juice and a McDonald's Mcchicken and fries. So really two small food items and some drinks $38! What a disappointment. No wonder I never come to McDonald’s anymore. - and neither should anyone? Dear manager do you think customers perception of value is that warped !

Shouldn’t have to be waiting over 45 minutes just for an order to be collected. Not just for me but my poor uber driver, they have a job to do and they’re having to waste an hour on one job? Not fair for them at all. Disgraceful service and it’s not been the first time I’ve had issues with this McDonalds. Take the criticism and be better, joke.

Friday and Saturday nights are so busy at this Macca's u went there for a bit to eat at like 3am Saturday and it was packed. The staff were doing well to keep up with the orders. Overall had a good experience here.

Run far away ! Give order to wrong client... Asking for bank account verification for proof of payment while i presented the receipt. So weird... Not expecting a 5 star service from a fast-food restaurant. But to make me pass for a thief when i have a payment receipt... never Pass your way. One star is too much Zero zero zero. Very awful experience i was waiting for my food but the staff name diya was just roaming around and dancing with other co worker she wasn’t really bothered about that we were waiting for our order..later we got know that order was ready a long ago but we didn’t receive it just because of her negligence.never expected this kind of behaviour from mcdonalds

Best Philly steak in town! This is my second time coming here, and I’d honestly make the trip just to eat their steak. The meat is juicy, the cheese is perfectly melted, and the bread holds it all together just right. Full of flavour and super satisfying. Plus, it’s a cosy spot with a small bar — perfect for a chill bite and drink. A must-try if you’re craving a real Philly steak experience!

Came for the Philly cheesesteak, stayed for the buffalo wings and then stayed longer because I had to order more buffalo wings. And the beer selection? Amazing!! Highly recommend

I had the Deluxe Burger and it was super tasty! The patty was juicy, the bun was fresh, and everything just worked perfectly together. Definitely one of those spots I’ll come back to. Loved it!🍔🍻

This is my favourite place to get Philly cheesesteak; it's delicious and always so consistent. The Bourbom Bacon is fantastic and I always opt for extra protein and extra cheese to make it really worth it. I appreciate that there's the option to add more to it. Spiced fries are also delicious. Really enjoy the seasoning. Keep up the great work!

THE BEST BUFFALO WINGS ON THE PLANET! I’ve had some in the US, some in other places here in Melb, some back in the Phils. None of them compare to these ones from Sparrow’s. Can’t count how many times I’ve had these wings, but aside from maybe a couple of times, they’re always immaculate! DO. NOT. EVER. CLOSE DOWN. PLEASE!!!

Got the regular cheesesteak. It tasted decent. The bread was nice and fluffy but everything else was a bit bland. Definitely could use more seasoning/flavour

Absolutely disgraceful service. The staff were not only rude but completely careless. We checked inside KFC in front of them and discovered they had missed 10 pieces of chicken. After walking to the car, we then realised they had also forgotten the 10 Wicked Wings — forcing us to go back yet again. Instead of apologising, they acted like we were lying and started rifling through our bags. This happened Friday 03/10/2025 at 7:30pm. The three workers on shift that night are an embarrassment to the brand and should be fired immediately. Utterly incompetent and beyond useless.

Staff were super helpful, got exactly as I ordered, and they catered to my special request. The food was well cooked, no complaints. There is not a ton of space to sit and eat, but there are benches outside.

Can’t fault this reliable store, food came out super quick when we needed it to for an Uber waiting. Staff were professional and handled a busy crowd well.

Once again a place that relies on location and position but limited service. Most of the staff have attitude or are too young to know what to say. There are never large coleslaw containers drinks are limited and sometime they’re out of chicken. After the meal was ready we weren’t told it is and the number was not on the screen. We weren’t given a drink which was part of the deal.

Was here last night, food was good, staff were friendly, order correct but order a bit slow. Couldn’t fault them though.

Went around 2,30 for lunch and the service was very good. The teenager with the nose ring and curly hair served me & was very polite and patient.

I was here today around 12. such lovely service from the girl at the front that had a gold nose peircing and gold jewellery she was such a sweetheart and definitely makes me want to come back to this kfc.
