Nemuro Hanamaru Nemuro Store is a renowned sushi spot located in the easternmost tip of Hokkaido, Japan. I came around lunch time and it was pretty packed. The sushi was very good, but took quite a while to come out. It's definitely a premium option, with the more desirable plates consistently being 330 yen or higher. I left hungry and still ended up spending about 3300 yen.
The sushi was absolutely superb though. Some of the nicest sushi I've had anywhere.
Privileged to have a meal at the main quarter of this renowned sushi restaurant. The sushi are fresh and special, unlike what are served in other places. Most memorable to us are the grilled eel, the fried rice cakes, the egg roll with grilled eel, the scallops and the geoduck. Some sushi are new to us and we are happy to have tried them. Definitely worth paying a visit if you are nearby.
Hokkaido is really a place rich in seafood. The seafood is very fresh and delicious. In addition to common ingredients, there will also be seasonal ingredients. Especially the Hanasaki crab.
Finally coming down to the Nemuro Hanamaru in Nemuro for ultimate delicious sushi train dining experience. Hands down the best dinner we had in the whole of eastern Hokkaido. It's Italian food but made with a very strong Japanese vibe to it that makes the taste so interesting. The visual standout is definitely the crab pasta (it's tasty! But be prepared to get your hands dirty after taking a glam photo of it). The sea urchin pasta is even tastier and I enjoyed it alot more. The chef's special margarita pizza is also a must, as it's made using cheese from the locale.
Finally the 5 star is also well deserved for it's location. Set in a beautiful farmland area and in a farmhouse, it's a little remote but especially during good weather and sunset, the setting is pretty chill and amazing.
It's interiors is also curious too, filled with old antiques with it's kitchen designed with tomato sauce cans, there's some fun at every corners too if you observe!
We made a detour to dine at this spot and what a gem of a find!
