Royce Chocolate World at New Chitose Airport is a delightful chocolate factory offering a range of delectable treats and fun activities for visitors of all ages. The Bakery serves up unique creations like chocolate cream croissants and chocolate pies, while the free-access chocolate museum provides insight into the history of this beloved confection.
Really cool to see royce chocolate factory production process over the glass window! Huge variety of royce chocolate, cute designs of chocolate! royce bakery was affordable ! Chocolate melon bun not my fave, go for the top 3. Must try the nama chocolate. (You can buy inside when youre departing too and in various other stores in the airport) , but this the only one dont charge for cooler bag :)

There's a chocolate shoppe, a factory behind a display class for passersby to see, plus a mini-museum all within the same area! The museum has an interesting display of their history of products, the creator as well as how they were advertised throughout the years. It's an iconic chocolate from Hokkaido, and I recommend to everyone who is here to stop by and see. It's located near the central cafeteria of the airport too, so it's hard to miss it.
E T — Google review
Visited in 2018. First place I stopped by after touching down in Hokkaido and I absolutely love this place. There was a display on how chocolates are made and a bakery with all their chocolate goodies. You can get Royce chocolates here as well to bring back as souvenirs.
Cherry L — Google review
A very cute chocolate store at the airport that also doubles as a mini chocolate museum. Worth a visit if you’re flying by.
Jono M — Google review
Fascinating presentation of chocolate making from the source to the actual making. From lovely little animal shaped chocolate to the yummy bakery selections. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Jean T — Google review
Got the bread with nama chocolate as the filling. This is nice but I would prefer it baked less brown so I can heat it up without worrying it burnt. The crossiant is not nice even after being toasted. It may not be made of butter. The price does not justified the quality. I expect the bread to be golden yellow brown instead of baked so dark brown. Should not buy again unless i c an improvement.

New Chitose Airport is a most amazing airport. It is not only somewhere you go through, but also a destination in itself. This Royce Chocolate World is one of the many things that make this wonderful experience. It is a tiny museum where you can see a brief history of chocolate, including a very nice collection of chocolate packaging and another of printed advertising. There is also a modern demo factory in production behind a huge window. Royce is a great chocolate and this little exhibition area really makes our Hokkaido trip more memorable
Leo K — Google review
The chocolate from here is the best!! They have a bakery as well with pastries and fun souvenirs to take home. The bus from the station is very convenient! Try the chocolate ice cream soft serve and the other items they have 👍

Ramen restaurant
Restaurant
Ichigen Ebisoba New Chitose Airport Branch is a must-visit for ramen lovers traveling through the New Chitose Airport. Located on the 5th floor in the ramen alley section, this popular spot offers delicious shrimp ramen known as Ebisoba. Despite being near Baskin Robbins, it's easily recognizable by a giant map of Hokkaido made out of ramen bowls.
Got the shrimp and miso based soup and it was delicious. Soup was served hot and they serve the thick noodle type. They have the dried salmon flakes to enhance fish flavour which worked well. Once you get seated the Ramen comes out very quickly. They are very busy and seating space is small. But I really cannot complain, ¥950 for a bowl of hot delicious ramen.
Lisa C — Google review
Came here right after we arrived at around 8pm and there's no queue. Tried the shrimp and miso flavour and the soup was thick and delicious. They even have a rich version of the soup but that was be too salty for me. I also like the thick noodles which were perfectly cooked and chewy. Prices are very reasonable but you get only a thin slice of char siu which was delicious and half an egg.
Daniel W — Google review
Shop opens at 9am there were a long Q before they open. We arrived 8:40am and have to for entry. As Malaysian we have hokkian mee / prawn noodle so this is not a surprise as the taste are our prawn noodle but with pork broth that the soup is curd like milk. Service was good very fast to take order but as it just open the boiling of the special taste soup takes some time. The Rice wrap was warm and tasty. Gyoza has little fillings only. The noodle are a bit hard for me as they didn’t have selection of noodle cooking method. They only have the normal thickness and thin noodle. We order Original Normal soup and Original Miso soup base and both taste salty to us.
Maria W — Google review
Located within the ramen street at New Chitose Airport, we visited close to closing time and waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. The shrimp ramen remains one of my favorite Hokkaido ramen due to its uniqueness. The noodle texture was just right for my taste, and the broth wasn't overwhelming, even until the last bite. Be sure to order the salt flavor if you prefer a more pronounced shrimp taste.
Leh P — Google review
There was long queue. So my expectation was high. But ramen was too salty and greasy to me. The noddle was too form. I will not go to this restaurant next time.
Eagle E — Google review
This place is on the airport’s Ramen Street and has the longest line ,super easy to spot. Although there’s a queue, the staff takes your order while you’re still in line, so the food arrives shortly after you sit down. Tastes great, and I’d definitely come back again!
Emily T — Google review
The ramen at Hokkaido’s Ebisu Ramen Ichigen was incredible! The broth is rich, with that perfect shrimp flavor that’s creamy and full-bodied. You can pick from "Original," "Rich," or "Salt" styles, and each brings out the shrimp umami differently. The medium-thick noodles hold the flavor so well, and the shrimp powder on top is a great touch. Cozy spot, friendly staff, and a great vibe all around. If you’re a fan of seafood ramen, this place is a must!
T C — Google review
Had the original prawn soup salt ramen and rich soup miso ramen. Both with thin noodles, shrimp flavour is strong and tastes great. It is on the saltier side. But with chilli flakes added, it cuts through the saltiness and enhance the shrimp flavour! The seating is very efficient and quick! Ate at 4pm, barely queued for 5mins and we were seated.

Meat dish restaurant
Matsuo Jingisukan is a popular restaurant in Sapporo known for its lamb BBQ, perfect for warming up during the winter. The set portions are generous and can be supplemented with free rice and miso soup if you're extra hungry. The staff make an effort to communicate in English, and individual meat packs are available for purchase as souvenirs. Customers praise the tender, flavorful meat and abundant vegetables, along with the attentive customer service.
We had a special Lamb Jingisukan 🐑 set meal for lunch.. The meat is very tender and delicious! 😋 You should try this when visiting Hokkaido.. Thank you for your service Ma'am ☺️ #ThankYouLordForEverthing #happyvalentinesday
Iza S — Google review
The taste is passable, but not too surprising. The lamb flavor itself is not too strong. The sauce is quite salty. 3.5 Stars.
S. L — Google review
As our last meal in Hokkaido, we went for another round of lamb BBQ inside the airport. They have a special sauce for the lamb that is pretty rich that is best enjoyed with some rice or udon. The standard lamb option isn't quite filling, so the side of sausage was perfect for us! Crowd Size: Average Serving Speed: Average Payment Method: Credit Card

Lamb is tender and flavourful. Service staff very friendly, spoke english with me. Atmosphere is normal food court. Has free water.

Delicious, great Sapporo beer and pudding dessert Do not over cook meat, they were so tender with tasty sauce All servers are great friendly

This is one of the restaurant in my to go list. I love to have lamb bbq in Sapporo during winter time to keep me warm. The set portion is good for one person, and if you are hungry, you can add on rice and miso soup for free. And I appreciate the staff try their very best to communicate with me in English. Also they have individual packs for the meat if you love to buy it back home town as souvenirs.

Obviously it’s a famous brand and it has many stores in Hokkaido. I got my hopes up but I think it’s too salty. The lamb is tender though.

Japanese curry restaurant
Soup Curry LAVI is a popular restaurant known for its delicious and reasonably priced curry. The spiciness of the curry can be adjusted to your preference, with level 5 being notably hot. There are two types of soup curry available: muddy or smooth, with the former being recommended for those who prefer it. However, it's suggested to opt for a large serving as the regular portion may be small.
Me meal was amazing! Honestly, curry usually is not my favorite but today I had the best curry I ever tried. And the number zero was not spicy at all. I never had a chicken bone melt in my mouth before. Perfectly cooked! The kitchen has my congratulations.

Casual curry soup that came very fast. Food was good and service was efficient.

Taste alright. Like Indian curry but less strong. More suitable for Japanese taste buds. Went there because we heard that the former PM ate there. Bought their cartilage bone curry and vegetables for 1650 yen
Gladys Y — Google review
Causal dinning , friendly service and good command in English . Choice of the soup base , spicy level and the portion of rice , tailor made by yourself . Shrimp base soup taste good ,we choose level 1 to 3 ,it’s too mild, we choose the high spicy level to try next time !
Jacker W — Google review
Taste alright but not super nice! The vegetables taste very fresh and sweet which is nice! Better than the other Soup Curry I had in Chitose years back. But the queue was long. Probably because New Chitose Airport is busy at that time. The chicken was super soft.
Ryan P — Google review

Alex Y — Google review
Curry was delicious. Fair pricing and customer service. About ¥1,500 / person for lunch. Curry was spicier than expected. Asked for level 5, it was pretty hot. If you can't take spicy food so well, I would recommend choosing the lower levels. Good experience.

Calbee Plus, an antenna shop located in New Chitose Airport, is renowned as a prominent global snacks brand. Visitors can indulge in delectable Calbee products like the Poteriko potato chips. These crispy and savory snacks are freshly prepared on-site, providing patrons with an authentic taste experience. While some reviews suggest that not all batches are made right before consumption, it's plausible that during peak times, preparations may be made in advance.

I love potatoes and I love Calbee so I wasn’t hesitant to give it a try. Potatoes were crispy and fresh but a bit salty for me. I wish cheese would have been more cheesy. Sour cream might be a good pair as well.

Milk & Parfait White Cosy New Chitose Airport is a renowned sweets shop from Hokkaido, now available at the airport. The store offers the exclusive Sora Parfait, paying homage to the airport with its name. As a directly managed branch of Yotsuba Milk Products, it's situated on the second floor among souvenir shops and is known for serving delectable soft-serve ice cream.
Went to serial soft serve places in Sapporo and this was the last one before leaving Hokkaido. If you are looking for Hokkaido milk flavor this one is very good. Wasn't looming for the texture, but the flavor. On par with "parfait, coffee, liquor, Sato (great milk flavor)" and "Rakuno Gakuen University (goodwill flavor - rich and creamy)". Kudos all 3 of us liked the milk flavor.
Mr_ R — Google review
Not creamy texture, a bit icy, not a good one. Don't need to try😞 I had the mixed flavor soft serve in cup size. It was caramel and vanilla mixed. Their milk is good tho, you can buy at supermarkets but not convenient stores, go try!

(Translated by Google) There are many soft serve ice creams inside New Chitose Airport. One of them is Yotsuba, famous for all kinds of dairy products. They offer soft serve ice cream, as well as mini parfaits and floats. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence, but compared to other stores, there wasn't a long line, so I thought I'd be able to get one easily, so I went for the simplest vanilla soft serve cup for 480 yen. When I look at soft serve ice cream shops and certain convenience stores, I've noticed that for some reason, cups and cones are the same price, but at this particular store, the cup is 30 yen more expensive. The cone is supposed to have a larger overall volume, so I could understand if it was a little more expensive, but it's really a mystery...lol I don't know how much additives are used, but the richness of the milk is noticeable, but it's not heavy, and although it looks like a large portion, it's surprisingly easy to eat. They also have salted caramel and vanilla mixes, so if you just want to enjoy the ice cream flavor, the cup is the best.

(Translated by Google) I stopped by here on a holiday morning after arriving at New Chitose Airport. There were so many soft serve ice creams available at the airport, I couldn't decide which one to buy, so I ended up buying one here. They had a wide variety of soft serve ice creams, but since it was my first time, I went for the classic vanilla sugar cone. I was a little worried about whether I could eat soft serve ice cream in the morning, but it was refreshingly sweet and delicious! After receiving your ice cream, you can eat it at the standing table next to the register. Behind the glass wall, Yotsuba products were lined up in abundance, and it was so impressive I couldn't help but take photos (lol). They also had pancake mix available in front of the register, which would make a great little souvenir♪ (Original)

(Translated by Google) The final stop on my "Sapporo One-Day Tour" in search of a horsehide wallet was soft-serve ice cream at New Chitose Airport! Actually, I wanted to try the Shiroi Koibito Soft Cream, but it was closed for machine cleaning. Oh no! This is Hokkaido, home to beef! There are plenty of alternatives! I went for Yotsuba Milk, which I'm familiar with, but which isn't often found in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Rich and creamy... It's a close rival to Nagato Farm Soft Cream in Nagano! After all, when you come to Hokkaido, you can't go wrong with farm-style soft-serve ice cream! I personally thought it would be pointless to mix the flavor of the cone with the cream when you've come all the way to a beef-producing region, so I ordered a cup, but you could also choose between a soft-serve cone or a waffle cone. Even the droplets of cream left at the bottom of the cup after I finished eating had a smooth texture. If they offered samples like 31 Ice Cream, it would probably sell like hotcakes. Doremo LeTAO is a chic bakery-cafe housed in a stylish wood-and-glass building, offering an array of delectable bread, cakes, and Western dishes such as pasta. The establishment features both a restaurant and cafe, with ample parking available. Visitors rave about the recommended pancakes with chocolate balls and honey butter pancakes, despite the wait time. The fluffy and flavorful pancakes are particularly popular.
An experienced confectionery specialist. This location is near to the airport. Has both a cafe and store. The signature fluffy pancakes is so light and heavenly. Note the last order for the cafe is 430pm and it close at 5pm. Only managed to reach on the dot but the staff allowed us to still order. Nice. Free parking onsite.

Overall the view is nice especially during winter. But that's about all as the food is really nothing to be fancy about. High ratings I believed are due to social media. Price wise is ridiculously high. At least parking is free and it's in front of the restaurant

We made an online reservation for lunch here. As expected from a renowned dessert specialist in Hokkaido, the texture of their soufflé pancakes was excellent, though a bit too sweet for our taste. Their pasta was also of impressively high quality. The waitresses provided warm and professional service, making the overall dining experience very pleasant.

Went around 11.30am today n there wasn't any queue and was shown the seats fairly quickly. There is a cafe on one side n confectionery on the other. Plenty of parking space. Ordered the recommended pancake with choc ball and the honey butter pancake which need to wait for approx 40mins and damage is ¥3,700. The pancake was really fluffy and the choc is so rich in flavour, it was really good. The butter honey pancake was also delicious. IMHO, worth the wait to hv a simple and peaceful meal with your loved one. I must say, everything in hokkaido is sooo good. A must visit if you are nearby Chitose.

Decided to come by here for a quick lunch after picking up our holiday car nearby. Saw that the opening hours of the restaurant was 11am but there was already 35 groups in the q (it was a sunday). The reservation system operates by Line app, so since i did not have the app, there was simply no way to know when we would get a table (according to the queue chit that we churned out from the tablet at the front of the restaurant, they willl use Line app to call you once ur table is ready), we decided to abandon lunch plan here and venture to the bakery shop just opposite (by the same company). We bought a variety of buns (miss), muffins (ok), strawberry tart (ok) and the creme puff (must buy!). Store was great, nice decor (it was Halloween time when we visited) and even had some seats at the side for you to rest and have a quick bite of your purchases. There's foc plain water at the nearby counter too. Queue was long at this bakery shop the entire time we were there but moved fast and orderly. Expect to wait around 20mins from the time you choose your items with the plastic tong and tray provided, to when you get to the front of the line to make payment and your purchases are packed very nicely in the iconic blue paper bag for you.

Horrible experience, waited 1hr+ for the food and everyone was served their main course and desserts before us despite our queue number being first. No one attended to us and the staff was unhelpful and unable to communicate in basic English. Just go to the bakery next door for better service

Not the amount for the food. I liked the peach special drink it was really delicious but the pancakes was not worth the hype for me. The taste is good and are really soft. The presentation wasn't the best.I didn't find the luxury I was looking for. Basic plate, toilets are simple, the staff is not bad but not on extra polite level that you might expect from expensive cafes.

Hokkaido Ramen Dojo is a gourmet alley situated on the third floor of New Chitose Airport, offering some of the finest ramen restaurants in Hokkaido. This Raman street provides an opportunity to indulge in various types of delicious ramen dishes, including their specialty miso butter corn ramen. The portion size is decent and the taste is excellent, making it one of the top Japanese Raman joints around.
I just love this ramen! Eat it at least twice while in Sapporo! Airport restaurant is usually faster than the one in Susukino, but the atmosphere is different. Give yourself a lot of time for the Susukino one, I've always been lucky and waited only about20 minutes!
Bryan O — Google review
As soon as we landed at New Chitose Airport, we made our way to Ramen Street on the 3rd floor of the domestic terminal. It was the perfect place for a comforting and satisfying meal after a flight. This lively stretch of ramen shops brings together some of Hokkaido’s most well-known regional ramen styles—all in one spot. We explored different options and ended up enjoying bowls of shrimp-miso ramen and classic miso butter corn. The flavors were deep, the broths rich and warming, and the noodles had just the right bite. Even though we were still in the airport, the quality was on par with specialty ramen shops you’d find in the city. Each restaurant is counter-style and quick-serve, which is great for travelers. Despite a bit of a crowd during peak lunch hour, the queues moved pretty fast, and it was worth the short wait. The vibe was lively but efficient, and the smell of ramen broth in the air just made us hungrier. If you’re arriving or departing from Hokkaido, Ramen Street is a must. It’s a convenient and authentic way to sample regional ramen without even leaving the airport. We left with full bellies and happy hearts—ready for the rest of our trip.

A nice welcome to those just arriving from a flight. Ramen Dojo, located on the third floor is a ramen arcade that brings together about ten of Hokkaido’s famous ramen shops all in one place. We tried Keyaki and went for their butter corn ramen. It had a well-balanced flavor — not too strong, not too mild — with good noodles and a satisfying, filling bowl overall. The gyoza had a good texture and a nice filling.

You can taste great ramen at the airport. There are so many people, so I recommend avoiding peak time(12:00 ~ 13:00).

Highly recommend to try the ramen here before & after flights. Landed early at around 10am and was very hungry. The shop I went to had half sizes which was perfect for some breakfast.
Yeetthe B — Google review
Unfortunately in a hurry for our flight but managed to squeeze in a quick butter and grilled corn ramen at No Life No Ramen in Ramen Street at New Chitose Airport (3rd floor away from departure gates). Great concept, wish we had more time to explore the options but had to settle for a more classic Hokkaido option that had free seating. Ramen was pricey for what it was and you can probably get better at their main outlets. You can pay in advance if short on time and ramen took about 5mins to prepare for us.
Julian T — Google review
It's really nice to have such a Raman street in the airport, so that we can have nice food after we arrived. The portion is average, but the taste is very good. Not the best best Raman, but definitely up to the standard of Japanese Raman. Recommend to come if you plan to have lunch or dinner in the airport.

Kita Curry House is a delightful spot to grab a meal, especially for travelers on the go. The service here is impressively quick, and the friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere. Despite being located within an airport, you’ll find that the food is both delicious and reasonably priced, making it a great choice for those looking to enjoy tasty curry without breaking the bank.
The service is fast and the staff is nice. The food is good and not that pricey even tho inside the airport.
Yena F — Google review
To start with, let’s be honest - Hokkaido Soup Curry is somewhat overrated. Unfortunately, this restaurant takes an already overrated dish and further disappoints. Our soup curry tasted medicated and my fried chicken curry was just sort of gross. The place is fine for a beer, but I will never eat here again.
Zachary H — Google review
I find the soup curry inconsistent. I had it first when I arrived at New Chitose Airport one week ago and was looking for an eatery with the least queue. I ordered pork cutlet curry and was delicious and satifying. The cutlet was tender and soup curry tasted good. However, one week later, I ordered the chicken one and it turned out that the soup curry looked and tasted diluted. What's worse is the layer of oil. I returned to Kita Curry expecting the same delicious curry I had earlier only to be disappointed. The shop's menu is limited - serving either pork or chicken curry. The meats are generally succulent. The staff were generally polite but can't converse in English.

I had quick lunch here before the departure flight. I ordered Fried Pork Curry and Soup Curry, both of them are famous food of Hokkaido. For me, personally i love Fried Pork Curry. Soup Curry is a bit strange. But my friend said that soup curry is nice.
Thị N — Google review
Ready-to-eat soup curry is used here, so it's the equivalent of going to a ramen place just to get a serving of badly cooked instant noodle. The fried pork cutlet was thin and totally soaked up all the lukewarm soup, as if it had been sitting there for hours. It's amazing how this place has only 2 items on the menu yet screwing them up so badly.

Very cute food; it’s not GOOD but not that bad either. Decision to have sweetened chocolate powder in their mozzarella pizza is bold but made it more interesting. Very comfy space generally, with some tatami-floor low tables. Service was nice, but they tried to speak English with me and I thought they were speaking Japanese lol, some chaos ensued, they do have an English menu though. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that there was a hole in the middle as I continued to eat it. Nestled in a serene location, The Bird Watching Cafe is a hidden gem that perfectly marries nature with relaxation. During my winter adventure in Japan, I had the pleasure of visiting this enchanting spot after exploring Niseko. The cafe boasts an inviting atmosphere where bird lovers can unwind while enjoying delightful treats like the Bacon Hothost and seasonal marshmallow chocolate latte—ideal for sipping as you take in the breathtaking views.
What an incredible experience! As the name suggests, this is a bird watching cafe where you can indulge in delicious food and coffee while observing wild birds fluttering in and out. We tried the burgers, ice cream, and coffee, and all were surprisingly tasty. The staff/owner was extremely friendly and accommodating; when we arrived, all the window seats were occupied, but as soon as one became available, she immediately offered it to us. Additionally, there is a special room available that is popular among photographers with big zoom lenses. However, there is a small fee and reservation required to access it. We didn't have the chance to spot the snow fairy though, but we were delighted to see many lovely birds during our visit. Overall, this was a very unique experience that I highly recommend.

The ambience was cozy and staff were friendly. Had Bacon Hothost and seasonal シマエナガ marshmallow chocolate latte, perfect for sipping while enjoying the view. I stumbled upon the Bird Watching Café while driving back from Niseko and couldn't resist the temptation to step inside. What a delightful discovery! The café features a stunning photo gallery showcasing the beauty of Japan's avian wildlife, as well as a charming gift shop offering books and prints for bird enthusiasts. The pièce de résistance is the expansive window overlooking a lush forested area, complete with bird feeders and houses, drawing in a variety of feathered friends. Inside, I found a cozy atmosphere, with about a dozen people sipping coffee or tea while observing the birds outside. A must-visit for nature lovers and birdwatchers!

One of the best soft serve in Chitose Airport. They located at 3F, just beside Starbucks. Try their milk. Their milk super thick. Very very tasty, they sell yoghurt ice cream too. Give it a try, you won't regret. 😋😋😋

Soft cream was really disappointing. No good flavor, no taste, not enough sweetness. I feel like they are limiting milk or ingredients which caused this insufficient taste.

Hokkaido Soup Stand is a store that opens early in the morning, making it an ideal choice for breakfast. It offers a wide range of soups made with fresh ingredients from Hokkaido. The soup set includes delectable bread and is a wonderful way to kick-start your day. This shop can be found inside the airport, which makes it convenient for travelers. It also serves soft serve ice cream, satisfying those craving a sweet treat.
I really enjoyed this place compared to the downtown soup curry joints. This broth was what I imagined vs suage that had an overpowering tomato base. I chose the large original w rice annd ann oolong tea that came out to 1,200¥. The servings were small but taste 10/10

(Translated by Google) Although it's called a soup stand, I think the soft serve ice cream is delicious. On Sunday evenings, the soup was almost sold out, so I realized it's a popular shop. I ordered a cup with shiratama (rice flour dumplings) for 550 yen, and the best thing about soft serve ice cream is that it comes out quickly after ordering. It's said to have a smooth texture and a rich sweetness. When I actually tried it, it was just the right amount of sweet, and the feeling of it slowly melting in my mouth was amazing...! I thought the gentle, mellow flavor of the milk that wafted through my nose was absolutely delicious. The large, chewy shiratama (rice flour dumplings) were delicious and went perfectly with the soft serve ice cream ♡ It really brought home to me that the combination of soft serve ice cream and shiratama is just right. I wish other shops would offer it as an added topping too! It was a delicious dish worthy of my last soft serve ice cream in Hokkaido. Thank you for the meal! Japanese curry restaurant
Soup Curry GARAKU Chitose Branch is a popular spot for tourists in Japan, with English-speaking staff and a wide variety of curry options. Customers can customize the spiciness and rice portion to their liking. The restaurant offers a bright atmosphere, great service, and delicious soup curry that keeps visitors coming back for more. Dishes like kakuni (roasted pork belly) and karaage are highly recommended, while the vegetable and mushroom curry along with fried chicken make for delightful sides.
This Chitose branch is quite larger than Sapporo branch. But there was such a long queue. I arrived around 1PM, I waited for around 45 minutes. The table is so private and quite large. I ordered roasted pork with 10 spiciness. My mum ordered chicken with 5 spiciness. I thought both are quite same spiciness . I suggested 5 spiciness is quite too spicy, I can’t eat the soup at all. Soup is so oily for me.The roast pork was very soft and delicious. In the bowl hadn’t much vegetables. I recommend this restaurant if you visit Chitose because the queue is shorter than the Sapporo branch.

Comforting for the cold weather. Slurped every last bit of the curry too. The fried chicken vegetable curry was my favourite. Charred broccoli and fried chicken skin soaks up the curry, and it’s just goodness in a mouth. Recommend to add mushroom toppings as well. Highly recommend!

Top notch soup curry! 10/10. Arrived ~6:30pm on a weekday. Wait was only 10-15mins. Service was swift and friendly. Food arrive 15mins after ordering. Soup curry is full of flavour, packs a punch! Pork belly was delicious, soft, melts in mouth. Add cheese will give another dimension to the taste. Suggest 2 to 4 heat level, else the chilli heat will probably overpower the richness of the taste. Tried Suage in Sapporo - Garaku beats that hands down. No competition.
Red L — Google review
The curry here is absolutely delicious — a true must-try when in Sapporo. Rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, it captures the signature taste of authentic Sapporo-style curry. The sauce has a deep, comforting aroma with just the right hint of spice, and the ingredients are cooked to perfection. Whether you choose chicken, pork, or seafood, each bite is hearty and satisfying. Definitely one of the best local dishes to enjoy while in Sapporo!
C. O — Google review
This was a highly recommended dish to try when coming to Hokkaido. It’s not the typical thick Japanese curry, but this is more of a curry soup. My description of this would be a Japanese stew with curry flavor. It’s not bad, but it didn’t really fit my taste buds. Queues can be very long at the downtown Sapporo outlet and you will have a much better chance to walk-in at the New Chitose outlet which is about 10 minutes from the airport.
Eric L — Google review
random local soup curry place we found but turns out this meal WAS SO GOOD IT IS DEATHROW WORTHY!! after that we realised that in sapporo city it’s a 1.5 hour wait for the same chain bc it’s the most famous soup curry in the city… one of the only meals in my life that i’d rate a solid 10/10. tried so many other soup curry chains before and after this did not even match up to this standard. Truly the best soup curry chain in japan. Have it here as your first meal as it’s only 10 min from the airport
Shermaine T — Google review
Tourist review: soup curry is a must try local cuisine in Hokkaido, and Garaku serves some of the best there is. They have an English menu, complimentary table water, and you can pay by card or most e-wallets or cash. Try to go early as there is usually a queue but the wait is not very long. Soup curry is not the same as Japanese or Indian curry. It's a very flavourful soup full of spices and vegetables, eaten with turmeric rice. Choose your soup, then choose how spicy you want it, then what size rice (S / M / L). We went for 'slightly spicy' pork soup curry and highly recommend the rice with additional grilled cheese topping, the seriously fantastic fried chicken, and super refreshingly good house Lassie (lasi: Indian yoghurt-based drink). Honestly wish I can eat this meal again and again! They also sell boxed soup curry if you'd like to bring some home but be aware some airlines may not allow it as a carry on.
Nikki L — Google review
We arrive the restaurant shorty after its opening time so no waiting is needed🙈 We have ordered one signature soup curry with pork belly and chicken leg, as long as one Chitose limited soup curry with fried chicken steak. You can choose your own spicy level according to your preference. If this is your first time visiting, I recommend spicy level 4 which should be acceptable for people who like mild spicy👍🏻 Pork belly is very tender and rich in flavour. Crispy coating of the chicken steak is heavily soaked with curry sauce. Not to mention those Hokkaido vegetables that are so fresh and delicious, especially the fried broccoli!🥦 The yellow colored rice just taste like normal rice, so no worries~🤓

The area also features a small play area for children and free-flowing drinking water.

KANTARO is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant located on the 3rd floor of an airport terminal. The sushi is fresh, and there's a good variety as chefs are constantly making new ones. It offers both table and counter seating, with orders placed via a mounted tablet and promptly delivered while the rice is still warm. The menu is available in multiple languages.
Couldn’t ask for more with that price and quality of sushi. All the ingredients were very fresh. Otoro melted in your mouth. They did the hot dishes very well too. Highly recommended crab salad and deep fried dishes. And they used a special seaweed in their miso soup for a silky texture. You placed your order on a tablet. You could give special commands such as ‘No wasabi’ per dish, which was very kid friendly. Although it was located in an airport, all the stores closed at 8:30pm, and the last entry of this store was about 8:00pm.

The food was very fresh and flavorful but considering the amount of food we ordered it was pretty pricey. The line was pretty long when we got there but moved quickly. Doraibuin Ito Butadon is a popular restaurant located in the food floor of New Chitose Airport. The place is known for its delicious pork rice bowls, with options to add extra meat and an onsen egg. Customers often recommend trying the 1.5x meat portion and pairing it with a beer. Despite occasional queues, the service is efficient, and patrons usually don't have to wait too long to be seated.
I thought it was a great place to grab a quick meal. You order first and then you wait a little and then you get seated. The food comes out pretty quick! The pork is tender with a little chew. The slightly sweet sauce gives the pork a good smoky flavor and you got to get an onsen egg to complete the meal
Michael S — Google review
Recommanded to get the 1.5x meat with onsen egg. They overcooked my meat when they torched the cheese on top, leaving the meat dry and hard. The sauce is tasty though. There is always a queue, but customers eat fast and I only waited for about 20minutes on a Thursday late afternoon. Staffs are friendly and the restaurant is clean without heavy food smell lingering on your clothes for the rest of the day. Is it a custom to eat rice with chopsticks only?

Honestly, the worst food we have had during our 1 week stay in Hokkaido. The meat was bordering tough and chewy with little marinade. Only the fragrant pepper (reminds me of Sichuan pepper), saved the bowl. The store also has policy of one person must order at least 1 item, no sharing :(

Bad experience. I was asking the lady which one she gives me for trying. It should be the cheese cookies which taste savory and sweet. But she told me the one I try was milk cookies. I buy 5 boxes of milk cookies and they taste totally different. They are not the same cookies she gives me for trying. It is un-professional that they don’t know their product well. Finally I have 5 boxes of milk cookies which I don’t like, really disappointed 🥲
Rachel C — Google review
On Thursday, 6 Nov 2025, 2:40-2:45pm; the last day of our family trip to Hokkaido; my mother was rushing to get last minute souvenirs from LeTAO patisserie which is world-renowned for their premium, and prestigious cheese cakes. Unfortunately, my mother was met by two male unashamed, Putonghua speaking sales staff. They were responsible for giving out tasters to customers in the duty free departing hall at the LeTAO store opposite Gate 70. My mother was by herself when she was met with remarks in Mandarin "她扮聽不到" when she was not even offered or asked to try the testers they were responsible for giving out. This sadly has left an insulting and unsatisfactory retail experience, which is disappointing. We've always had faith that Japan was at their highest-calibre as we have purchased several products both at the shopping street at Otaru, and the biggest Shopping Mall at Hokkaido's capital, Sapporo, Daimaru. It is with great sadness to have to experience an immecable product become disfigured by sub-par hospitality that we must leave such a low rating.

If you're on the hunt for a delicious ramen experience, look no further than Baikoken Ramen, located conveniently at Chitose Airport. This gem offers a variety of hearty options that are sure to satisfy your cravings. The double chashu ramen features a rich miso broth that's both flavorful and slightly spicy, complemented by thick, chewy noodles. While some pieces of chashu can be fatty or tougher than others, they add depth to the dish.
If you like rich miso ramen (perfect balance with garlic and spicy) and tender noodles this is a good place for you! I personally loved and I was impressed with the charsiew meat. It was extra juicy and perfect :) 2k Yens with a draft beer per person

I tried the spicy ramen, they serve in a big portion, 3 slices thick charsiu & other tasty toppings. But personally for me, the soup was just slight spicy, and the ramen texture itself a liltle bit soggy. I can enjoy to eat here myself, they have many seats, but the staff wasn't friendly and not responsive to cust (from my experience).

Absolutely loved the miso chashuu ramen at Baikoken Ramen in Chitose Airport. The broth was rich and well balanced, the chashuu was juicy and full of flavour — just a really satisfying bowl of ramen that hit the spot. Even though it was busy (as you’d expect at a good ramen joint in an airport), I was seated within 10 minutes, and it was well worth the short wait. Great value for money too. Perfect final meal before flying out of Hokkaido. Would happily eat here again anytime.

I got the double chasu ramen for ¥1,150 and gyoza for ¥600. The ramen is pretty good. I got the miso soup base and it’s really hearty. It’s not super salty and has a hint of spiciness. The chasu is good, some pieces are really fatty but they are quite flavourful, though some parts are also a bit tougher. The noodles are thick and quite chewy. Overall it’s a pretty decent ramen. The gyoza filling was a bit too soft for my preferences, it’s really mushy so if that’s what you like then you’ll probably like this. Overall, it came quick, table was clean and spacious. The queue for this shop was fast too, so if you’re in a hurry at the airport, you can try this restaurant.

We touched down at New Chitose and headed straight to the Baikoken stall on Ramen Street for lunch—it was the perfect first bowl to kick off our trip. Their soy sauce ramen, a signature from Asahikawa, was deeply flavorful with a broth made from pork, chicken bones, dried sardines, and kelp. It had a strong umami punch and leaned slightly on the salty side, but in a way that felt bold and satisfying. The medium-fine curly noodles were springy and held the broth really well. We also tried their cheese gyoza—crispy on the outside with a creamy cheese filling inside that offered a nice contrast to the ramen. It was a fun, tasty side dish that we weren’t expecting but ended up really enjoying. Though it’s located in the airport, Baikoken didn’t feel rushed or touristy. The staff were helpful and the restaurant had a cozy, casual atmosphere. They even helped us stow our luggage so we could eat comfortably. For a quick, authentic bowl of ramen straight after landing, Baikoken is a solid choice. Full flavors, quick service, and a great introduction to Hokkaido ramen.

I was looking for a decent ramen at the airport before I end my Hokkaido Trip. I chose this shop because I don't have much time and it had shorter line compared to other shops. I ordered Miso Ramen I wasn't expecting much about the taste because the shop looked unpopular based on its atmosphere and number of available seats. Despite that I was still shocked with the ramen's underwhelming taste. The soup tasted very bland like a hot water with color. The char siu was cold. After that, I checked the previous reviews for this shop and found the same comments from other people, years back. I wonder if this shop is really trying to improve the things pointed out by customers before. My honest comment is: the specific miso ramen I ate here was not delicious based on my standard. I was not able to finish my food. I hope the management does some quality check about their product. It seems other customers have positive feedbacks about the taste, so it's a matter how to maintain that quality.

They have a great veggie ramen here! Really savory, yummy egg noodles. One of the best I’ve had (and much better than Afuri’s vegan ramen). If you’re craving noodles but a vegetarian this is the spot for ya 🍆🍅🥒🍠🥔🥕

MENYA KAIKO is a popular ramen spot with high standards and various options to choose from. The Tokachikawa pork + miso ramen combination is highly recommended, featuring springy noodles and flavorful miso soup. For those with a big appetite, there's also the option of combining ramen with rice. To avoid crowds during lunchtime, it's best to arrive slightly earlier or later. Additionally, the place offers reasonably priced draft beer for around 300 yen.
Really tasty pork and broth. Bok choy is a good addition to any soup. Go check it out!

Ramen shop inside the ramen dojo in Chitose-Airport. Loved the pork ramen that uses some fantastic branded pork, but the bowl could use a bit more toppings. Best on a cold winter day, but the miso ramen doesn't disappoint! Crowd Size: Very High (10min wait) Payment Method: PASMO

Taking flight from Chitose airport to Haneda airport, in our Hokkaido Ramen trip, we tried Asahikawa & Furano Ramen, Menya Kaiko was in our list as we tasted it many years ago in Singapore when they operated in ION Shopping mall in the early early 2000. loved that special taste so much. Its original outlet was in Obihiro Hokkaido but had since been closed. For this time since we had a chance to fly out via Chitose airport, we tried to bring back the nostalgic taste. We order crab dashi Ramen & Miso Char Siu ramen. The verdict: it is tasty and not so salty, the soup has a fine crab fragrance and the noodle is maintaining the Hokkaido standard (chewy & thicker than the Tokyo & Kyushu version). However, we can’t find back the old taste we had in ION Singapore before. So, for me, the judging of the excellency of the food has another dimension: the old taste that I had before. For a person who had not tasted Kaiko Ramen in Obihiro or ION Singapore, pls go for it as the Red Miso Ramen has a strong taste and give stronger punch in their soup vs the white miso. Another gem not to be missed.

You will not go wrong with any of the ramen stall here. Typical ramen with high standard as of all other stalls here. Recommend the (no.1) Tokachikawa pork + miso ramen combi. Pork is nice, ramen is springy, the soup is miso soup. There is ramen and rice combi if you are a big eater. Avoid crowd during lunch. You can come slightly earlier, say 11am or slightly later, say 1.30pm..

We visited Ramen Street at New Chitose Airport just before our flight home and decided to try Menya Kaiko this time. It turned out to be a great final meal for our Hokkaido trip. Menya Kaiko is known for its rich miso ramen, and we went for their special crab broth miso ramen. The broth was flavorful with a gentle crab aroma that made it really unique, and the noodles had just the right chewiness to soak up all that goodness. It’s the kind of bowl that makes you want to savor every last sip. We also tried their Tokachi Whey Pork Miso Ramen, which featured incredibly tender pork slices—both loin and belly. You can choose between red or white miso; the red packed more punch while the white had a smooth, slightly sweet finish. Both were delicious in their own way. Though it’s located in a busy airport, the space felt cozy and welcoming. We managed to get counter seats quickly despite the crowd, and everything was served piping hot. The whole vibe was very local, like a little ramen shop tucked away in the city. It was the perfect way to wrap up our Hokkaido adventure—simple, satisfying, and full of flavor. Definitely worth a stop before catching your flight.

(Translated by Google) 🇯🇵 Chitose, Hokkaido | New Chitose Airport ★ Highlights: Encountering Tokachi pork at a ramen restaurant (scroll to the end to see the menu) I arrived at the Ramen Dojo at New Chitose Airport at 3pm. I wanted to eat there but there was a long queue, so I just found a place that didn't require a queue🙉. 🦀 Kanidashi Miso Ramen ¥1500 (tax included) 🍜 Tokachi Hoe Pork Noodles ¥1500 (tax included) 🍜 Chashu Noodles ¥1380 (tax included) The soup was average, a little salty and oily, and one of the bowls was crab soup which was also average, but the meat in each bowl was very delicious. One of the bowls we ordered was the regular pork char siu. Although it was all lean meat, which I don’t like, it was not dry and well seasoned. The other bowl of Tokachi pork char siu was even better. It was similar to the yakiniku rice in Kaohsiung (?), but twice as thick. The surface had a charming yakiniku flavor and the mouth exuded a full pork aroma. After eating this bowl, I decided to try the Tokachi pork bowl next time I come to Hokkaido. —————🅘🅝🅕🅞🅡🅜🅐🅣🅘🅞🅝————— ✓ Shop: Menya Kaigao New Chitose Airport Store ✓ Nearby landmark: New Chitose Airport ✓ Business hours: 🙉 ✓ Google rating: 3.5 (421 reviews) ✓ Food Log: 3.51 (743 reviews) ✓ Visit date: 2025.06.07 🧑‍⚖️ Please search for IG: @shakure_foodie

Ramen Sora at New Chitose Airport is a must-visit for any ramen enthusiast. Located just before leaving Sapporo, this spot offers a delectable bowl of soy ramen that has been hailed as the best ever. Many have compared it to the renowned options in Ramen Alley, only to be pleasantly surprised by the exceptional flavors and quality found at Ramen Sora.
The signature Grilled Corn Ramen was a mixed bag. While the presentation was solid and the bowl looked appetizing, the corn lacked the sweetness I expected, especially since it’s their signature. The soup itself was quite salty and overpowering, masking some of the other flavors. The noodles were nice and had a good texture, but the overall balance wasn’t quite there for me. That said, this bowl of ramen was definitely above average, especially for airport food. The prices are slightly higher than regular ramen shops (same price as most highly acclaimed ramen restaurants), but that was expected at an airport. If you have time before your flight and are craving ramen, it’s worth trying. However, don’t set your expectations too high if you’ve experienced ramen at specialized shops around Hokkaido. It’s a solid option for convenience, but not a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts!

As others suggested and reflected on the rating, this place is not worth it. The food is totally not worth it! The miso ramen is a joke for 1100yen, I’d call it just a bowl of hot water with maybe too much MSG. It’s a tourist place for those who haven’t had real miso ramen. Be careful for the queue as I was mislead and thought that was for the ramen dojo (but it’s not!) Just about every other ramen shop is better than this clown. The only good thing id say is just the services.

Since it was less than an hour before boarding, I just picked this place because there was no line. I ordered a bowl of char rice and a bowl of shio ramen. I barely touched the chashu rice because the pork really wasn’t good. Overall, next time I’ll try another ramen shop.

I strongly recommend not going to this ramen shop. The staff is very arrogant and impolite. I saw a foreign customer who asked one of the staff to bring him a cup of hot water. He seemed he needed it to take some medicine. The staff roughly put the cup on the table and hot water spilled over the table. She didn’t even apologize for that and went away. The customer wiped the spilled water without saying anything. I felt sorry for him and felt like it’s really embarrassing as one of Japanese citizen. I know she’s busy. However, I think being polite is the most important thing in a hospitality business. There’re many other ramen shops in this area, so I strongly recommend going other shops. I will never visit here again.

Ordered what many people ordered (I looked around the neighbouring tables) 1. Shirakaba Set - 3 types of mini rice bowl (salmon and salmon roe/crab/sea urchin), sashimi, tempura, chawanmushi, steamed sweet potato with butter and crab soup. 2. Filling Sanshoku Rice Bowl (rice bowl of salmon roe, sea urchin and snow crab with crab soup). Good taste for most part - salmon roe, snow crab, tempura, baked potato, chawanmushi. Only gripe is with the Uni which has a very strong sulfur odor.

There are two branches of this restaurant in the airport, one in the domestic terminal and one in the international terminal. I had visited the international terminal branch and was welcomes by very friendly staff. The only downside was that we had arrived near their closing time and there wasn't much left on the menu. We came in with a party of 4, but they were only able to provide rice enough for 3 people. I was the odd one out and I only had a plain udon. From the looks of my friends' bowls, they still looked fresh and tasty. A bit pricey but that's to be expected from an airport restaurant. If anything, the staff were super friendly and we felt very welcomed despite them about to close down for the day.

One of the few breakfast options (if you arrive before 9:00 AM). You’ll love this place if you have a good sense of humor. I personally love western themed restaurants in Japan because it’s fascinating to see their interpretation of American culture. My ham and cheese sandwich was legitimately good, as was the fried chicken. We found the miso ramen to be a bit heavy, but what do you expect at a cowboy-themed restaurant in northern Japan?

(Translated by Google) I think it's best to think of it as an Italian buffet. The main dishes were delicious: risotto, gnocchi, and roast beef. The salad and bread were also delicious. The sweet potatoes and potatoes were also delicious. There were three main desserts, each with about three different flavors. The drinks and coffee were also delicious. The selection of dishes wasn't extensive, but they were all delicious. The view from the restaurant was beautiful, and the tables were spacious, making it comfortable to sit at. They cleared the dishes quickly, and the staff was friendly. The women all enjoyed it, but the men were a bit disappointed. (Translated by Google) I think this is a good example of selection and concentration. By offering a small number of delicious dishes, you can keep costs down and still be satisfied. The clientele is clearly all female. I would give it 5 stars, but it's mainly vegetables, with one meat dish and one fish dish, and no children's dishes, so for the average man or child, it would probably be 2 stars (lol). It's not a lunch buffet for families. Also, there are no pre-made dishes, and everything is delicious, which is what makes it so appealing. It was 3,900 yen including the hot spring at Tsuruga Resort. This is a bargain. The price difference with the accommodation was incredible. The hot spring has a calm atmosphere and is thick, and there are many types of baths, so I was satisfied. The meal alone is 2,700 yen, but I recommend the bath set for 3,900 yen. I was very satisfied with all of this. Also, parking is 500 yen, so the actual meal is 3,200 yen, and with the hot spring it's 4,400 yen. It's also good to enjoy not only the lunch buffet, but also a stroll around Lake Shikotsu and an underwater sightseeing boat (2,000 yen for 30 minutes). I went on Thursday. I didn't make a reservation. I went at about 11:10 for the 11:30 session. I was underestimating it because it was a weekday, but I was told that only the terrace seats outside were available. If you want to go safely, you should make a reservation even on Thursday or Friday. By the way, please note that the lunch buffet is not open on weekdays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and on holidays in April and after November. So, when I went in at 11:30, there was a line in front of the food. Since there are only a few dishes, the customers who entered the restaurant at 11:30 all lined up at the same time. By 11:45, the line had thinned. So, if you're going on Thursday or Friday, it's probably best to make a reservation or buy a ticket in advance and go at 11:45 on purpose. 11:30 is a little early for lunch, and there are only a few dishes, so everyone finished eating in about 50 minutes. At 12:20, 50 minutes later, there was a line for coffee. On Thursdays and Fridays, you just have to finish eating by 13:30. Unlike weekends and holidays, there is no second session on Thursdays and Fridays, so there is plenty of time for meals from June 1st to October 31st, 2025, from 11:30 to 13:30. (Baths are open until 15:00) By the way, on weekends and holidays in 2025, there will be two sessions: 1st session 11:00-12:30 and 2nd session 12:40-14:10. Even though the number of dishes is small, it is possible to arrange a lunch course meal by combining the buffet. ・Appetizers (assorted about 10 kinds) ・Soup (corn soup, clam miso soup) ・Pasta (regular and gnocchi) ・Fish dishes (rockfish and vegetables steamed with herb butter) ・Meat dishes (roast beef) ・Desserts (various cakes, etc.) ・Bread (various) ・Drinks (coffee, tea, herbal tea, juice) There are other dishes, and curry and white rice are also available. Speaking of Tsuruga, the Tsuruga Roll is one of the must-haves, but I couldn't find it anywhere... Also, there were no smoothies in the lunch buffet. I liked them though. I think they were available a few years ago... I guess this is the result of selection and concentration, it can't be helped. The best thing for me was the clam miso soup. I think the roast beef was the main dish. It was delicious. The balance of red and white meat was good, and it was soft and had no sinews. I thought it was good meat. Also, when you combine the rockfish with a sweet potato dish, it was like a brandade and was delicious.

Yoshinoya is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Japanese fast food, especially if you're at the airport. This cozy spot offers a delightful array of dishes that are both hearty and satisfying. The standout options include their beef stroganoff, which has been praised as a superior choice, and another dish that showcases classic Japanese flavors without being overly saucy. Despite its small size—accommodating around 20 guests—the atmosphere buzzes with energy during peak lunch hours.
We wanted to have lunch before our flight and walked all the way to the arrivals to try here. Although it was crowded during lunch time, we managed to get a seat. The staff was very busy, but got our order and served our food quickly. The food was great. You need to raise your voice a little to get the attention of the staff as they are busy most of the time.

Best Japanese fast food. I recommend the dishes circled in Red as my #1 choice. It’sa better tasting beef stroganoff. #2 is circled in Orange. Its less saucy but still exemplifies Japanese base flavors. As an American you can down this like any dishes back home, hearty, filling, and ginger and spice toppings take it to the next level. Service and prices were great.

Food is fine. Service was terrible. Traveling in a group of 9. Two of us bought food to go before the others decided to dine in. There is a 10% dine in tax and a 8% take out tax. They refused to let the two join our group of 7 others dining in. Even though the two offered to buy more food at dine in and pay for the tax difference for the prior take out. As well as transfer the two take out bowls into dine in bowls. The restaurant was not busy either. The food is already premade prior to order so I recommend to save your money and eat elsewhere. There is no flexibility, lack of hospitality after a long day of travel. We were very polite in our requests.

Tempura Tendon Tenya at New Chitose Airport is a popular spot for delicious and affordable Japanese cuisine, especially for those looking for a quick lunch. The restaurant offers crispy tempura and has friendly staff who provide English menus without being asked. The seafood tempura, especially the shrimps, is fresh and sweet, while the new offering of tempura pork is tender and lightly flavored.
Cheap and good tendon on L1 of New Chitose Airport. Upon entering the restaurant and sitting down, the waitress was quick to serve us cold ocha. Tempura Don was simple yet very delicious. Ordered the All-Star Tendon & ala-cart Hokkaido Scallop & Snow Crab Leg for 300¥ & 250¥ respectively.

The 大海老 (650yen) is a joke. I think it's very small so order another 海老(240 yen) , they look exactly the same (and taste the same). Staff insist that's how it is, I'm not sure how to explain it when I put both prawn side by side. The left one is the regular, the right is the big one and I didn't bite it just take out the fried skin

Affordable, filling, fast, delicious. If you're looking for places to eat at New Chitose airport that is simple and good do check out this place. Giving a 5* simply because it's a great find for a quick bite before or after your flight and consistent with the outlets in Tokyo. Cons: limited beer selection, not 5* restaurant tempura, slightly cramped seating. Pros: Still superb tempura and at a solid price especially in an airport. Fast service, free flow iced tea. Pro tip: it's located on the 1st floor near the domestic arrivals. Take the escalator down you'll see it opposite the Lawson's.

You would not miss this restaurant if you arrive at Chitose Airport Domestic Terminal. Was glad to see an outlet here. The menu was similar to the ones at the Tokyo outlets. The service was great as usual. We felt welcome as the staff provided an English menu without us asking. Appreciate the lady staff using English to explain the menu to us. I like the seafood tempura especially the shrimps. So fresh and sweet. I ordered their new offering, tempura pork! The meat was tender and lightly flavoured. Just as enjoyable as the seafood. We ate at the restaurant on our arrival and departure from the airport.

RAMAI is a popular Hokkaido curry restaurant in Japan that offers an extensive range of spiciness levels and delicious curry sauce. The portion sizes are generous, and customers can choose their rice size, spiciness level, and main toppings. The restaurant is easily accessible with nearby bus stops and free parking. While there's no English menu, the staff can speak some English.
I had the best soup curry in Hokkaido near Chitose Station (JR Line). The menu is in Japanese, and you start by choosing your protein. I picked the pork soup curry, medium spicy (5/10), with a medium portion of rice. The portions are generous, and the soup curry is incredibly flavorful. In winter, it gets very crowded, and you might have to wait long. It’s a perfect, hearty meal for cold autumn days too. The staff speak basic English, so communication isn’t a problem. I love soup curry in Hokkaido and will definitely come back one day.

I waited for about 20-25 mins but was ok as the weather was cool and there is still space to sit at the waiting area. Nice rustic ambience, and the staff wore batik tops and a soft traditional Asian music was playing in the background. Nice touch! Various levels of spiciness for the curry with a choice of meats. I ordered a level 10 with pork, and added grilled broccoli, and tofu , and small portion of rice, and a bottle of Asahi Dry. The curry was absolutely perfect, it was tasty and fragrant. I tried another nearby recently which did not have the same texture and tastiness. I definitely prefer Aramaic. I was one of the last customers to get into the restaurant and had to rush at the end to finish my beer. But otherwise would have been a great experience.

This is the best soup curry I have ever eaten. I had the large bowl with pork, small rice, and added seared broccoli and an egg (it already comes with two quail eggs and THE freshest vegetables. The price starts around 1200¥. I would recommend the curry - fried fish, veg, tofu, pork, and fried shrimp. And the extra toppings you can’t miss is fried broccoli!! Menya Rei is a cozy and minimalist restaurant in Chitose, known for its standard ramen dishes and donburi rice bowls. Despite the small space with only 4 booths and 8 counter seats, it attracts long lines during operating hours due to its popularity. The menu features straightforward yet delicious options, including tonkotsu ramen and makanai rice bowl with caramelized onions and chives. The addition of miso egg takes the ramen to another level.
Had a quick stopover at Chitose so we rushed to Menyarei on recommendation from my companion for one of the best ramens in the region. We arrived at around 2pm and we were the last customers of the day(lucky us!). We stood in cold temps with harsh winds for around 40mins. I had the spicy miso ramen, it did not disappoint. The broth was flavourful and had a kick but not too spicy till you can't enjoy the soup. My companions had the miso tsukemen. Did not disappoint either. They sell out quite quickly, I would visit again if the opportunity arises.

Initially hesitant due to mixed reviews, I decided to give it a try. I am a fan of Tonkatsu ramen. Normally not fond of soy sauce or miso-based ramen, I was pleasantly surprised. Visited on a Thursday at 12:25, the 30-minute wait was manageable for our group of 4. The owner, noting my daughter's height, kindly offered a cushion. The kid-friendly vibe continued when my elder daughter spilled water, owner promptly provided table cloth for me to clean up. The ramen exceeded expectations; the pork was remarkably tender and thick, unlike nearby options. Priced reasonably at 830 yen, I'll revisit when in Chitose. My younger daughter, a picky eater, slurped up the tasty soup! 🍜

Probably the best ramen around all of Chitose City. I personally had the Miso based Dipping Noodles (300g, addon Seaweed and Egg). Total cost was ¥1600 (S$16 approx) which is relatively reasonable for such a delicious bowl of noodles. Broth was well prepared overnight and not overpowering. Balance of the flavors was really good. Throughout the eating experience, you won't feel "tired of the taste". Be fully prepared for a long queue though! The shop operates for 4 hours daily (except rest day), when I arrived at 2pm, I had a "Closed for the day" tagged to the end of my queue, and only got into the restaurant at about 3pm. There were groups who arrived later and were all turned away.

Menya Rei is a refreshingly original flavor profile in the heart of Chitose. It does get busy, especially since it got a Michelin Guide mention a couple of years back and is worth the wait. Soup is quite a strong dashi base with meaty notes after. All their variations are good. The shoyu (soy) topped with grated onion would be my pick for something unique, but all are done well and with slight variations in toppings. The chashu pork is really good and a nice slice or two should be on top of each bowl. You can order extra, but perhaps wait and see if what comes in your bowl is enough so you don’t have leftovers. The “makanai-don” cubed sauced pork on rice was a really nice side dish if you’re feeling peckish. Especially since they do slightly different stuff than standard ramen shops, I recommend Rei to people often.
Simon D — Google review
Best ramen in Chitose! The meat in the ramen is hands down the most tender melt in your mouth piece of meat I have had in a long time. It is also 2-3 times bigger than the meat other ramen places serve. Bamboo shoots were also very fresh, 5x the size of what I excepted. Yumm
Halley L — Google review
Save your appetite, wear warm clothes, and embrace minimalism. The venue has 4 booths and 8 counter seats with a line well over 20 people during its operating hours. Unlike its tonkotsu cousin in Kyushuu, Menya-Ray doesn’t require fidgeting with the broth, noodles, or spicy-ness. Each. Bowl come with menma, nori, and chashu but, the additional miso egg sends it over the top. The makanai rice bowl is a nice change from the standard nikudon with caramelised onions and chives. While I went for the umakara-miso, the shio is best for mixing with the remaining rice. Well worth the wait for this Michelin Star ramen.

I keep coming back to iori. It’s good. Simple and done well. Very meaty broth, but a clean meaty flavor. A good layer of oil, nice meat, a little ginger. I opted for the larger “omori” size and and egg. The ajitama was nicely executed. Will try some fried rice next time I go. The table next to me had a plate and it looked (and smelled) great.

My brother and I dined here while in transit. Like most Japanese restaurants, you can pick the food you like the look of front the models in the window. The staff were friendly and we were quickly seated. I ordered the 海の幸上天丼 Seafood and Vegetable Tempura Deluxe (Rice Bowl) and washed it down with a local Sapporo beer. The tempura was amazing. Especially the seafood. I have always loved this and again was not disappointed. The crab was as expected. Minimal meat in small crab. The miso soup was great as was the small seafood salad. 2800¥ My brother ordered the 海鮮ミックスフライ御膳 Assorted Fried Seafood (Set Meal). Looked great and he devoured it. I was tempted to sneak something fried off his plate but resisted. 2000¥ A quick last meal well enjoyed and well priced before we parted ways.

HASKAP The Garden offers a delightful dining experience, especially for breakfast. Located within a chain hotel, this restaurant surprises guests with its tasty food and spacious atmosphere. While the service may have some quirks—such as limited English from the staff and a short wine list that often runs out—the breakfast buffet is truly commendable. With an impressive variety of delicious options available from as early as 5:40 AM, it’s perfect for those catching an early flight.

A really good margarita pizza here. The breakfast is consistent and it gets boring after a few days. Where is the dessert station? The croissants are over cooked (every batch). Meer Lounge Pasta Restaurant is a pleasant dining option located in New Chitose Airport. Unlike many other Japanese establishments that were bustling and had long queues, this eatery was relatively quiet and didn't require any waiting time. The food arrived promptly and was delectable, although slightly pricy for the portion size (as expected in an airport setting). It was unfortunate that they ran out of pizza, which was what some customers desired.

A nice pasta restaurant in New Chitose Airport. Most of the Japanese restaurants were very busy and had lines wrapping around outside of them, so I had to give up on my first through fourth picks. Eventually I came here since it wasn't busy at all and there wasn't a wait. Overall it was good. The food came out fast and it was very tasty. A little on the expensive side for the portion size, but that's airport food. It was a little disappointing that they were out of pizza, since that's what I wanted from there. Would I eat here again? I cannot recommend this spot highly enough. Understated decor and a quiet location disguise the complexity that lies within. It’s best to order one of the Omakase courses. There are several options ranging from lighter to extravagant, based on how much you’d like to eat. (There is also an a la carte menu.) The chef is a culinary genius; every component of the meal was surprising and delightful. He speaks very good English and carefully explained the nuances of each plate. From the fresh, house-made walnut baguette at the beginning to the strawberry cardamom compote and panna cotta at the close, I was amazed by the subtlety and flawless execution. There is a nice wine selection as well. I only tried red, but the Bordeaux and Cabernet that I had were both incredible. This restaurant alone is worth making a trip to Chitose, and if you find yourself here already it’s not even a question. I will be back as soon as I can!

Delicious Italian themed food in a cozy environment. Their pastas are made with local ingredients, including their regional dairy and it tasted beautiful - nothing like I've ever had before in my previous items visiting Japan! Despite having friendly service and a large, well decorated dining room, the food was just not at the standard that the prices would imply. (Translated by Google) I visited Benitora Gyozabo New Chitose Airport for lunch. Located inside the airport, it's convenient and easy to stop by for a meal before or after your flight. I ordered the mixed fried rice and a single serving of gyoza. The fried rice had a good balance of ingredients, was fragrant, and was light and delicious. The gyoza skin was also chewy and the filling was rich and flavorful, making it very satisfying. While restaurants inside airports tend to cater to tourists, this restaurant offered solid flavors and was very satisfying. The restaurant's interior was clean, and the staff were courteous and welcoming, leaving a good impression. This is a recommended restaurant for enjoying authentic Chinese cuisine at the airport.

(Translated by Google) I guess not many people choose to eat gyoza at Hokkaido's airport. Even if other restaurants are crowded, you can usually get in here without any problems. I think Hokkaido people often use this place to eat before boarding a plane. On the other hand, Hokkaido people probably wouldn't go out of their way to eat seafood at the airport. The gyoza is delicious. They have large gyoza and regular-sized gyoza. The large gyoza is really big, so be careful about the portion you order. But if you're from outside Hokkaido and you're wondering if it's worth choosing these gyoza instead of seafood or ramen... The service is average. It's not bad, but it's not particularly good either.

(Translated by Google) Was this popular in the city center a while back? I searched for a restaurant with availability at the airport and chose this one. Even though it was available, I still had to wait for some reason. I had the firm fried noodles for 1,580 yen (excluding tax) and gyoza. The noodles for the fried noodles are Nagasaki sara udon, not fried. There wasn't much topping. Maybe it's not that great? The gyoza are on the same level as Hidakaya. It's expensive considering the price! The service from the staff was fine, though. Syokudo and Teishoku restaurant
Restaurant
Tonkatsu restaurant
Restaurant Yanagibashi is a delightful gem that offers an authentic taste of local cuisine, making it a perfect stop for lunch before heading to the airport. Known for its delicious fried minced cutlet, or menchi katsu, this cozy eatery serves most dishes in set meals (teishoku), with some options available as donburi—where the dish is served atop rice.
For the price (around 1000yen), the food is worth 5 stars. A good lunch stop before heading to the airport. 1. Mostly fried stuff, its famous for its fried minced cutlet ( メンチカス menchi katsu); 2. Most items are serve in set (定食 Teishoku) but some can be in donburi (丼), its practically the same just the dish is on top of the rice instead of on the side; 3. You can upgrade your miso soup in the set to a pork miso soup with potato and radish (豚汁 Tonjiru) which is full of ginger favour. P.S.: write down your name (better if its in Japanese, translate it) at the sheet right inside the entrance if there is a queue

Cozy eatery with counter seats and small tables in the tatami room. Very popular with local businessmen. At lunch time Their famous mince katsu メンチカツ is different to any other mince katsu I've had. Their fried fish dishes are also good. Crispy and light.

(Translated by Google) Washio★Jiro's "I tried 100 famous restaurants" series vol.40 😋 Sakura trout fried set meal A popular restaurant in Chitose selected from restaurants nationwide in the "Tabelog 100 famous restaurants 2021". Only three restaurants, including this one, were selected from Hokkaido. I've known this restaurant for a long time, but it's amazing. The restaurant was founded in 1980. It boasts a history of over 40 years. Today I had the "Sakura trout fried set meal" 😋 The lineup includes rice, miso soup, three pieces of fried Sakura trout, cabbage, pickles, and boiled Chinese cabbage. First, pour the sauce over the fries. Oh, it's delicious ♪ The hot and crispy pink flesh of the Sakura trout is flaky and just the right amount of saltiness. Next, I'll have another slice, this time with soy sauce. Should I use sauce or soy sauce with fries? This is a topic that seems like it would be a debate, but I personally have my own rule: sauce for meat and soy sauce for fish. 😅 It's pretty good. 😸 Maybe because it's a popular restaurant, it gets quite crowded, so next time I'll give myself plenty of time and visit earlier. Next time, I think I'll try the popular "minced meat cutlet set meal + pork soup." A fried lunch at one of Chitose's 100 best set meal restaurants. If you're in Chitose, be sure to try it. It was delicious♪ Thank you for the meal. Izakaya restaurant
Ajisai is a delightful dining spot that perfectly blends the charm of an izakaya with the elegance of a small restaurant. During my recent visit, I was captivated by its serene atmosphere and fresh offerings. The menu features an impressive array of dishes, including succulent sashimi, butter-grilled scallops, and unique fried camembert cheese wrapped in tofu skin. The raw oysters are particularly noteworthy for their size and freshness, embodying the essence of the ocean.
This restaurant is a very nice and atmosphere calm space. Recommended if you want to enjoy a calm dinner in Chitose. Covid 19 countermeasure There is rubbing alcohol to entrance. There are 4 private rooms and counter table. Partition has set in each room.

(Translated by Google) I visited during my trip from Saitama to Hokkaido, and the interior had a quiet atmosphere. Although it was a weekday, there was only one person sitting at the counter, so I was able to get in easily. For the meal, we ordered an assortment of sashimi, butter-grilled scallops and mushrooms, fried camembert cheese wrapped in tofu skin, etc. For drinks, we ordered draft beer [Maltz] lemon sour and Japanese local sake (Juichishu). The sashimi was delicious, and the most delicious was the deep-fried camembert cheese wrapped in yuba. If you're having trouble finding an izakaya on your trip to Hokkaido, please come by.
