I ordered a bowl of miso ramen with extra vegetables and added an egg. The chashu was tender, flavorful, and incredibly aromatic, while the noodles had a nice chewy texture. Miso ramen goes particularly well with rice, as it’s the saltiest among the three main flavors—shio (salt), shoyu (soy sauce), and miso.

I don't understand these 3-4 stars review. I'm giving it a 5 star. You order food through a machine and Chinese language was available. Free parking. They put us in a room with a beautiful view. We have 2 kids and they gave us a very comfortable baby seat. There were also toys included. Extremely kid friendly environment. Just look at the photos. The waitress smiles, food is tasty, and a nice view. What else can you ask for?

I had the shio char siu ramen, they give 4-5 pieces of char siu 👍🏻 Warning for those that want to order the spicy ramen, it is not the typical Japanese spicy. As a Singaporean I think the normal spicy is acceptable. The very spicy was too much for me but it was ok for my father and mother. Those who love spicy can try it!

Popular place. Lunch orders via ticketing machine and dinner orders via iPad. Chinese and English menus available on the iPad, not sure about the machine as we ate there for dinner. There was a queue but things move fairly quickly. Leave your name with the staff or on the clipboard at the door to join the queue. There is parking outside the store. If you indicate your car plate number on the wait list, you can wait in the car as the staff would know which car to look for you. The shio ramen was good, so were the pork and chicken meatball skewers. The chicken karage were okay. Payment via cash and credit card available, done via a machine at the door.

Had some of the best and freshest seafood like sea urchins and salmon bowls here! Come early to avoid the queues and with wider selection of seafood available to choose from. This place starts getting busy and noisy with long queues by 9 and things get sold out quickly too. Very popular with locals. Not a big eatery and the ordering process can be quite chaotic especially when the staff speak little English. But they are still friendly and accommodating. Great place to stop by before heading into the far north.

Hidden gem near Godzilla Rock and not far from Oronko Rock and Triangle Rock in Utoro. Very simple menu but the ingredients are really fresh. I had the 3-in-1 ikura don which consisted of salmon fish roe, cooked salmon and cured salmon. Very good portion and the food is delectable. Ask for the English menu before placing order. The only issue is the space in the shop is really crowded, not suitable for the elderly and families with very young children. Overall, it is value-for-money!

It was a cold and rainy day when we visited the restaurant. Since it was late in the afternoon when we arrived at Shiretoko, all other restaurants had been closed for lunch. We finally managed to get a table from this restaurant after a short wait on our car. It was real good to have a hot miso soup and grill Kinki to warm the body and fill the stomach!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and I can confidently say it served the best fish I've ever tasted. As a first time foreign tourist in Hokkaido, I have just stayed here for two nights at this resort in Utoro, Shiretoko. Overall, this resort lives up to its billing as a "hotel and resort" with its many nice common facilities, spacious room and generous "tie-ins" - in the case of the last, its complimentary all-day grazing and drinking with beer on tap from 1pm-10pm at its Lounge, and complimentary one ice cream scoop per night stay with its "in house" dessert shop. And talking about "in house", I enjoyed browsing and shopping at its gift shop, and using its gym. As for the room that I stayed in, all was good except that it lacked a bedside table and the lighting was quite poor in certain parts of the room. That said, I did appreciate that my room did not come with a "standard" bathtub found in hotels in Japan; instead, it had a more functional and space-saving shower cubicle. I also appreciated (as someone in his mid-60s) that I did not have to step up or down into the room's toilet whenever I wanted to use it.

The room has a lovely view overlooking the open sea and it is renovated with a modern touch. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel, as they only offered a buffet, and we’d already had plenty of those throughout Hokkaido. However, do keep in mind that there aren’t many dining options in this small town, so it’s best to plan ahead when deciding where to eat in Shiretoko. P.S The view of the public onsen and the sauna is one of the best we had in Japan.

Home over the next couple of days as we explore the wildlife around the area. Modern contemporary rooms with general grandeur throughout the property. The restaurant team certainly cooks up a storm and runs an amazing gastronomic array using the freshest ingredients and covering all the bases of mainly Japanese (sashimi, sushi, tempura) with some international dishes (venison ragu pasta). With robots and well-orchestrated teamwork, I would imagine all guests certainly went away satisfied and impressed.

Nice hotel on a convenient location to visit the Shiretoko National Park. Pretty large rooms with comfortable beds. Nice facilities including public bath and big lounge area with free drinks. The buffet restaurant is a bit price for in my opinion.

Our stay at Kitakobushi Resort was nothing short of exceptional. The resort boasts tastefully appointed accommodations. The staff demonstrated exceptional attentiveness and helpfulness. The onsen bath offers an array of amenities, is immaculate, and provides breathtaking views. The Life Table buffet is a culinary delight, featuring high-quality, delectable dishes that consistently surprise and delight. The guest lounge is comprehensive and well-stocked. The resort’s prime location is ideal, conveniently situated near the UNESCO Natural Heritage site. Additionally, the hotel provides comprehensive information on visiting the Shiratoko Pass and the numerous hiking trails in the surrounding area.

Very pricey but the dinner and breakfast were really good. The rooms are clean too, and the onsen bath are also 👍🏻👍🏻 BTW the interior and design looks almost the same as Kiki (guess they belong to the same group) but it’s a level of luxury above. Services are generally ok.

Even Japanese tourists were asking about sea urchin. The staff is so rushed, they might do well to post signs clearly stating it. 🦴One of my sashimi varieties (so 2~3 pieces total) had bones in it. I don't know if this is normal for that type of fish, or maybe a Hokkaido thing as I've never been before, but that was the first time I've had bones in sashimi and I didn't enjoy it. 📜The menu is a bit confusing. There are pictures on the front but the options to make them a teishoku/plate are inside the menu. There doesn't seem to be an English menu. The staff might not have to rush around so much if they made a new menu.

Tasty seafood ramen found here. The stock is excellent. The kaisen don features fresh umi, octopus, sashimi in luxurious amounts of salmon roe. Highly recommended. GPS guided me near to kitakobushi hotel but is actually opposite the shiretoko heritage centre

This restaurant would be 5 stars if it weren't for these two owls. I tried to eat, but constantly was drawn to the gaze of the two all-seeing owls. Due to a scheduling issue, we could not go to Otoro for the Osen and had to stay in Shiretokoshari; this was one of the restaurant recommended by the tourist center, from the exterior, it's probably the most decent looking establishment around the area. Once we entered, we were greeted by a friendly old chef who unfortunately did not speak much English. Unfortunately as well, the menu did not have any English translation however they did have plastic models of their dishes and we used that to order dinner. We ordered their premium sushi and weren't disappointed. Sushi was extremely fresh and we'll balanced, it's designed by the chef to have wasabei inside the sushi so warned if you can't take wasabei. My friend and I agree this is the best sushi we have taken in Japan comparable to the ones we had in Otaru except that the prices here are extremely affordable, for the high quality of the Sushi we had, total bill came up to 3000 Yen for 2 pax, in other tourist establishment, the bill would have come up much more. In summary, if you are in Shiretokoshari and looking for dinner (not sure if they open for lunch); this is the place to go for affordable premium sushi.

This place is a real hidden gem. A man in his 80’s runs the show on his own. He is an incredible chef that really knows his stuff. He has worked all over Japan in high end restaurants perfecting his art for decades. He treated us to some of his finest sashimi and it was quality. Amazing value too.

We speak very little Japanese, but with the help of a translation app we could communicate and share some kind words. The food is amazing. It’s tasty, well presented, some of the best food we’ve had in Japan. Anyone who is in the neighbourhood should try this restaurant, it’s a really special experience

I'm still not sure when we walked in with wet riding suits and helmets on if the owner said "we are closed", but after we sit down and order he still made us the most wonderful meal (especally the karaage!) and said we can take as mush as tissues to wipe the bikes when we finished and leaving. The was a miserable day to ride motorcycle but I'm still glad it led us to this little cute and most yummy sushi restaurant. (I'm wondering if it was closed because the owner had polited turned away the second customer after we sat down..)
