Restaurant
Olivo is a classic Italian restaurant located in a 17th-century building just off Guildford's High Street. The restaurant offers traditional Italian cuisine prepared by their own Italian chefs and features charming dining rooms with stripped floors and exposed beams. Olivo has set lunch menus, party menus, and even offers a variety of birthday cakes. Guests can also enjoy a wide selection of drinks from the menu.
We had a great dining experience at this restaurant. The food was of high quality and the portions were generous. The service was excellent, especially from the waiter named himself 007—he was attentive , humours and friendly throughout. The value for money is impressive, making it a place I would definitely recommend to others.

We chose to dine at Olivo to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was a fantastic decision. The food was absolutely delicious, and we were especially touched by the warm and attentive hospitality from Valentin. Thank you for making our special day so memorable and for creating such a wonderful dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!
Yvonne C — Google review
Went to Olivo this weekend and felt like I had a little trip to Italy! The sunny weather, outdoor seating, music, and drinks menu all added to the vibe. We had the lunch set menu; great value and super filling. Big thanks to Ismail for his friendly service and fun energy. He even remembered me from last time! Can’t wait to go back.

This restaurant has won lots of awards and it is easy to see why. The food was outstanding and the service sublime. It was a beautiful day and we were able to sit outside. The restaurant is in a great location. 5 stars all the way, well worth a visit.

A true taste of Italy in the heart of Guildford! 🇮🇹 Olivo is a beautiful reflection of authentic Italian warmth and charm — you can truly feel it’s a family-run restaurant with heart and soul behind everything they do. We absolutely loved our dinner there — the atmosphere, the service, and especially the lobster pasta, which was honestly the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. 🍝🦞 Highly recommend visiting this wonderful place and definitely try the lobster pasta — it will be the most delicious lobster you’ve ever tasted! 💫

It was our 2nd visit to this fantastic restaurant. Lovely food, particularly the octopus, and very friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Myself and my wife were going to see a show the G-Live. As we were looking for somewhere to eat we decided to pop into Olivio. We weren’t disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was great. We will certainly be back.
Shaun G — Google review
We ate dinner early pre-theatre. The restaurant was busy but not noisy. Waiting staff were attentive (but not overly so) and helpful in explaining the menu. Very wide range of dishes on the menu, including for those who are vegetarian. Good selection of fish dishes on offer. The atmosphere was just right. Busy but not noisy.

Bar
Carlo's Trattoria is a top Italian restaurant in Guildford, located just over an hour's walk from student accommodation. The spacious dining room and modern bar offer amazing set lunch deals and Mediterranean cuisine. This family-run restaurant at Newlands Corner prides itself on hand-made dishes with carefully selected fresh ingredients. Guests have praised the friendly staff, excellent service, delicious food, generous portions, and the special treatment for occasions like birthdays.
The food here was unbelievable. Hidden away just outside of Guildford, this place is a real gem. The restaurant is family-owned, managed by King Prawn Carlo who is Italian and makes the best authentic Italian food I’ve had in a while. A lot of places either have good staff or good food but this place strikes the perfect balance between the two. All the staff were really sweet and very attentive - it was the perfect way to commemorate my birthday. Will absolutely be back soon.
Chloshlips H — Google review
Went for a meal with my partner on a Saturday night around 9 pm as we were in the area. It was very busy and very loud. We almost had to shout at each other to be heard. In all honesty, it wasn't for us, but the food was decent, and the manager was very pleasant.
Steven — Google review
I had a wonderful birthday lunch here. The staff are lovely. Good sense of humour but highly professional. Delicious food! Set menu was very reasonable and very impressive. We ordered a couple of items off the specials board and they were just as good. Will definitely be coming back 👌 Grazie!

Amazing - excellent host, excellent food - will absolutely come back

We had a very memorable dinner at Carlo’s Trattoria ! Despite booking a table for 22 of us at very short notice , Bonnie and Jay went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing dinner for my family gathering. The service was attentive and impeccable throughout the whole evening and the food truly delicious with very generous portions. We all had the fixed menu with a selection of starters ( the fried calamari are the best I have eaten in a very long time - even my Sicilian auntie thought they were tastier than the ones in Sicily ) followed by the prawns risotto and fresh ravioli with porcini mushroom and sage which were both heavenly! We ended the dinner with an amazing selection of desserts, all beautifully presented. I live in London but I will definitely drive back to Guildford just to eat at Carlo’s again!. Thank you SO MUCH Bonnie and Jay for looking after us and making the evening truly special for me and my family! Hope to see you again soon Barbara Z

Had such a wonderful dinner here. Food was fresh, service excellent and the dessert incredible. All clearly homemade and intense with flavour. 10/10 service too!

We are coming back! And I just can't believe it has taken us so long to try Carlo's. What a joy. Best local food I have ever had. And we were looked after superbly. A big thank you.
Tessa G — Google review
100% recommend. Carlos and his team hosted 15 of us for a celebration dinner. From the first moment I got in touch to arrange our dinner, I knew we were in safe hands. Carlos and Mesi couldn't have been more helpful, even when we had last-minute changes. During our dinner, the restaurant staff were exceptionally attentive; we were very well looked-after and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and in generous portions and adapted to accommodate various dietary needs. The atmosphere was relaxed and joyous and we all left saying we'd gladly return for various family meals. Thank you Carlos, Mesi and team, what you have built is fantastic and we loved eating with you!

Pizza Takeout
Nestled just a short 20-minute stroll from the bustling High Street in Guildford, Shardana is a delightful family-run Italian restaurant that captures the essence of Italy with its inviting contemporary ambiance and glass-fronted design. Known for its mouthwatering stone-baked pizzas and freshly made pasta, this eatery is perfect for any occasion—whether you're celebrating with friends, enjoying a family gathering, or seeking an intimate dinner date.
Absolutely loved our meal at Shardana in Guildford! The calamari were crispy and fresh, perfect with a glass of prosecco. I had the Milanese with spaghetti - super tasty and filling and the Shardana Special Pizza was packed with flavour. But the real star? The tiramisu. So creamy and light, definetly THE BEST I’ve had. Great service and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re after proper Italian food!
Bhuvana S — Google review
What a lovely meal. A hidden gem in Guildford. Danielle on duty was very friendly and helpful. The duck carpaccio was delicious, the lasagna was some of the best I've ever had, and the tiramisu was probably the best. Absolutely recommended.
José I — Google review
Nice music, good service, starters (crostini and calamari) were nice but pizza, risotto and pasta were very much below average. Risotto nero was too salty, pizza ortolana was bland and pasta ortolana tasted like tinned tomatoes.
Vinay V — Google review
Friendly service and amazing food! Loved the calamari and hot pappardelle. Can’t go wrong with tiramisu to close out the meal. Will definitely come back again
Purinat T — Google review
Had a meal here a couple of nights ago. Very good. I had the pasta with prawns n aurora sauce. My wife had a risotto. Both good meals (especially on a Tuesday night). My son is mad about pizza margarita. Tbh, this needs more time to cook, as the cheese in the middle was a bit gooey for him - less cheese maybe; in the middle? Overall, very good.
S M — Google review
A surprisingly lovely restaurant, from the entrance to the alley, i didn’t think much of it, but once inside, very charming. The lighting is warm n soft, creating a cosy atmosphere within. The food is excellent, tasty with nice healthy portions without the michelin star nonsense (trying to be too clever). Staff were professional and attentive, without being too much in your face. The prices are very fair for the quality food they produce. I’ll be making this a regular venue to dine again.
Russ R — Google review
Nice food but arrogantly assume you want to pay a discretionary service charge. It's not discretionary if you automatically add it to the bill. Unlike other UK restaurants, especially outside of the London tourist gouging traps, that understand that an optional service charge should be at the discretion of the purchaser not the provider of the service.

Italian restaurant actually run by an Italian family. All food wonderful whether you only have pizza or the full three course experience. Good selection of grappa 😄

Italian restaurant
Franco Manca Guildford is a top choice for delicious sourdough pizzas and excellent value for money. The restaurant boasts classy decor and friendly service, making it an ideal spot for various occasions, including birthdays and casual dining with family. Visitors have praised the accommodating staff who made them feel relaxed and welcomed, particularly when dining with young children. The atmosphere is described as buzzing, adding to the overall experience of enjoying fresh ingredients and perfectly crispy yet fluffy crusts on their pizzas.
This is independent cafe. It located the other side of Guildford. They served a lot of food ie sandwiches, snacks and pizzas. I went there one evening and ordered pizza. The pizza is handmade and cooked on the stove. The food is absolutely delicious not like other pizzas I have had.
Gabrielle F — Google review
Our fourth visit here, and we enjoy the simplicity of the tender sourdough pizzas. Sunday lunch visit, and it was averagely busy. Staff were relaxed and attended to the tables well. The children's menus are good value for money.

Had a great experience at Franco Manca in Guildford the other evening. The pizza was full of flavour with that perfect mix of crisp and chew. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients. What really stood out though was the service – Lucy looked after us and was genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Definitely coming back!
Tom ( — Google review
Oh my goodness, Franco Manca never disappoints! I just had the most amazing pizza there and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was buzzing and it just added to the whole experience. What makes this place stand out is the attention to detail. The ingredients are fresh and the crust is perfect - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I highly recommend the tomato, mozzarella and garlic toppings - it's a game changer! Definitely coming back again soon.

Vibes are immaculate! Pizza was some of the best sourdough pizzas ive had. Not to mention our lovely waitress Eloise who looked after us and informed us of some fab specials. Thank you cant wait for next time.

Ray and Rob went above and beyond to support us and our dinner experience. They were so flexible and welcoming and make our celebration even more special! I will definitely come back over and over again! The food is delicious and I can never enough of it!
Hilary — Google review
We were so well looked after by Ray at Franco Manca in Guildford ☺️ Excellent service, super food and a place that has the feel of a family restaurant. If you're gluten free, then the pizza dough here is heaven. Recommended!
W J — Google review
A colleague shared this place with us so we thought we’d take a visit whilst in the area (my husband, me and our 10 month old boy) it can always be a bit daunting going out to eat with an unpredictable baby but the staff were so accommodating! We instantly felt relaxed when we arrived and were quickly seated, table ready for high chair etc, we didn’t even make a booking! The service was pretty quick and the staff were all lovely actually but equally quite easy going which we liked. Our waitress (I didn’t get her name!!) had an accent maybe Scottish?? A nose ring and glasses, she was fab. The pizza was shamazingggg. So much vegan choice and freshly made (you can see them making it which I like) came out pretty quick too but not too quick to make you wonder if it’s been cooked properly if you know what I mean! So yeah, lots of choice on the menu for all and a kids menu also, pizza, drink and dessert for £7.95! The cost overall I thought was good value for money, £37.95 for a kids meal, dessert, 3 drinks and 2 large pizzas. Service charge was included which isn’t uncommon and we boxed some of ours up and ended up eating it for dinner so it goes a long way! Toilets clean and private - always a winner when you need the baby changing! Definitely worth a visit whether you’re a family or a couple, friends etc really yummy, chill and fun vibes! Thanks guys xx

Restaurant
Positano is a charming Italian restaurant located in the heart of Guildford, housed in a historic Elizabethan building. The ambiance is authentically Italian, with waitstaff who exude an Italian vibe. The interior features dark-wood panels, original beams, and banquette seating. The menu offers traditional Italian fare including pizza, pasta, and seafood dishes like risotto and seafood pasta.
What a lovely, cosy gem of a restaurant I happen to find today! Went there for dinner around 7:00pm on a Thursday night and they were quite busy, considering I had no reservation they sat us but said they would need the table in an hour which was fine for us. The staff were very friendly and kind. The service was not rushed. The food was very tasty. The waitress even asked if we were celebrating anything special and at the end she bought us a lovely little treat, very thoughtful. A small cosy family run restaurant with great service, highly recommended. I would definitely be back to enjoy a lovely meal, hopefully soon.

Not the BEST Italian food that we've had, BUT... The staff was very friendly (thank you, Alina! You were so lovely!) and the place is beautiful. All in all, we enjoyed our visit.
Eran B — Google review
This is, without doubt, the best restaurant in Guildford. I booked a table for 6:15 this evening to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and it was our very first visit. From the moment we arrived we were given the warmest of welcomes. I only regret not asking the name of the gentleman who greeted us, as he was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered the very best customer service. He and the young lady who was also looking after our small room on the first floor were both wonderfully kind, attentive and thoughtful throughout. They even surprised my boyfriend with an ice cream topped with a candle, bringing it out with a birthday song! That was so kind that I was literally close to tears. The food itself was absolutely delicious; everything we ordered was spot on. We will most definitely be returning again and again. A special thank you to the two members of staff who went above and beyond to make our evening so memorable. Wishing you both, and the whole restaurant, every success for the future❤️
Elora L — Google review
We really loved our visit to Positano. It looked charming from outside with lots of outdoor seating but a real treat inside as it's a beautiful building with lots of history. Service was excellent, our waitress was very knowledgeable. The wine we chose was perfect. Our meals arrived very quickly... Not a bad thing but would've been nice to have had a little more time to enjoy the evening. We loved the food and would definitely come back
Debra R — Google review
Came here for our anniversary and everything was simply perfect! The service was attentive and friendly and the food tasted super fresh and flavoursome. Felt like I was back in Italy! Wonderful evening thank you for making our anniversary so lovely!
Emily A — Google review
Me and my boyfriend came here last night to celebrate our 3 year anniversary and the staff made it nothing short of amazing!! The food was incredible and had us complimenting our dishes the whole time! We have been raving about the atmosphere and service all day and will continue to! Will definitely be coming back
Ava G — Google review
We were taken here by friends for dinner a few days ago and what a superb experience it was. The staff are brilliant and our server shared stories of Positano, Rome, Sicily and Naples. The menu has local dishes from Naples which I had not eaten before and they sounded intriguing. We eventually made our decisions and the food arrived promptly even though the restaurant was full. This was a Monday night at 6.30pm!! So make sure you book. If I lived nearer I would become a regular at this cracking italian restaurant. Well done to all involved with the restaurant.
Steve R — Google review
I’m from Italy and spent several extended stays in Guildford last year for work. After trying many restaurants in town, I eventually discovered Positano—and truly felt like I had landed in Southern Italy! I must have had dinner here about 30 times and worked my way through almost the entire menu—every dish was a delight. The food is incredibly flavorful, made all’italiana with simple ingredients, perfectly combined for maximum flavor. The whole team—many of them Italian—were always professional, warm, and attentive. The value for money is excellent. The "Positano" is clearly a favorite among locals, too, and it’s usually fully booked, so I’d recommend making a reservation. There’s a lovely outdoor terrace and a cozy, welcoming interior with soft Italian music. Favorites? The bruschetta with goat cheese (rustico) or tomato, linguine allo scoglio, or even the simple tomato version. The parmigiana di melanzane tastes exactly as it should, and the zupetta di cozze with fresh ciabatta is wonderful. The daily fish specials were always superb, and the pizza is excellent. My tip: Try a selection of antipasti to share—it’s the best way to experience the variety of flavors! Complimenti allo chef, and thank you for so many wonderful evenings. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Zizzi - Guildford is a delightful Italian chain restaurant that specializes in serving up delicious pizzas and calzones on rustic wooden boards, alongside traditional pasta dishes. During my recent visit for lunch, I was impressed by the exceptional service and the quality of the food. As someone with coeliac disease, I appreciated how attentive the staff were in ensuring my meal was safe to enjoy without any worries about gluten contamination. The variety of gluten-free options available made it a stress-free dining experience.
Recent update: The food was delicious and our takeaway arrived in time. Can't complain.😊 We ordered from this restaurant several times. It used to be good, but recently they've been making their meals without care and the pizzas you can get from them are an absolute mess. They don't even bother to stretch the base properly, to cook with enough ingredients and the distribution of the toppings is done without paying any attention. Not to mention the wrong extra topping; apparently they cannot distinguish between two different types of chillies that they are offering. And they don't even fully acknowledge their mistake. Train your staff, Zizzi!

The service and attentiveness were excellent. Barely had to wait to be seated and my order was also taken by Sarah very shortly thereafter. By the time I was back from the toilet after ordering my food was waiting for me. The presentation and flavour of the food was great and the dessert was unusual and tasty, big plus for me! Overall I am very pleased with the place and would recommend!

The food was alright, the spaghetti was very refreshing and the mozzarella was nice. But the pizza was kind of thin and the crust was more crispy and felt like biscuits. The rest were all mediocre. I did enjoy the potato.

Guests can savor hearty plates featuring traditional Sardinian cuisine infused with modern flair, including antipasti, risottos, pasta, and succulent meats seasoned with unique herbs and spices.
This is by far the best experience we've ever had in Guildford. We booked a reservation to celebrate our Chinese valentines day, and the chef made a lovely decoration of napkin with rose for us. Nestled in the picturesque village of Peaslake, Hurtwood Inn Pub and Restaurant is a charming country pub that perfectly captures the essence of traditional British hospitality. With ample outdoor seating, it's an ideal spot to relax while watching cyclists and walkers pass by on their adventures. The venue boasts an impressive selection of local beers alongside an extensive wine list, making it a haven for beverage enthusiasts. The menu offers a delightful fusion of English classics and authentic Italian dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone.
A very welcoming restaurant. A roaring fire, friendly dogs, gentle chatter and quiet background music. Excellent atmosphere and very friendly staff. Food was good and well presented but was a little bland. Lasagna was good quality but it would have completed the dish with a little side salad. Carrot soup was by far the best part. Price was in keeping with the area, but would have been high anywhere else. Yes, I would recommend this restaurant. Thank you.

Fantastic pub with a superb Sunday lunch offering. Can get busy with cyclists when the sun is out so book in advance. Great service - great food.
Jag G — Google review
A cosy stop at the foot of the Hurtwood forest I visited this beautiful pub yesterday with a friend, located right at the start of the cycling and walking path that leads into the stunning Hurtwood forest. The venue has all the charm of a traditional British pub: warm furnishings, a welcoming atmosphere, and great attention to detail. I was particularly struck by a very charming corner featuring comfortable burgundy sofas and an elegant display of fine wine bottles, adding a touch of class to the environment. The food was genuinely good, prepared with care and quality ingredients. The service was also excellent — friendly and familiar, making us feel instantly at ease. A truly delightful experience that I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be coming back at the next opportunity.

Sadly our visit was the mistake of thinking that because the outside setting was lovely, the visit would match. Our group of 4 were ignored from the moment we arrived. We waited to be shown to our table, and it seemed we were an inconvenience. Sadly the service did not improve. Our drinks order was simple but we had to chase it after a long time. Food - the starters were very good. 3 out of the 4 of us had the lamb, which was a special. What a disaster. I asked for better knives but there was no meat in the shank. Staff never checked how things were. We were aware that the kitchen closed at 9.30, so 20 minutes beforehand we asked for ice-cream, to be told that the kitchen was closed. It is usual to be warned of this surely, especially if it’s early. The only thing that was done promptly was the arrival of the bill!
Angela G — Google review
The staff are friendly and helpful - the food we had was below par. My lasagne arrived clearly black and burnt crispy cheese topped…. The rest of the dish was full of pasta layers with a sprinkling of mince, but blink and you’d miss it, to the extent that it had to go back. My partners pizza was barely passable - bbq chicken pizza - clearly re constituted flavoured chicken - nothing fresh going on here. You can tell the previous reviews aren't verified. The friendly bar tender happily gave me a refund - no questions asked - probably because she was embarrassed to put it in-front of me in the state it was in. - we wont be going back - I politely declined an on the house replacement.

Beautiful country pub in the heart of peaslake. Lots of outdoor seating where you can watch the cyclists and walkers go by. Some amazing local beers and extensive wine list. The food is a mix of English and authentic Italian. There are also 15 boutique rooms if you want to stay overnight. The pub is open 7 days a week, 10 am till 11 pm, serving food all day, Friday, Sunday, and lunch and dinner from Mon to Thurs. They also offer a takeaway service, food, and drinks between 5pm and 9pm.

Brilliant, absolutely gorgeous place and great food and we had such a a lovely server called Madeline who was quick and friendly, everything you could ask for 10/10 would reccomend
Peggy G — Google review
I really like the location of this pub, it’s so close to one of my favourite biking spots and this makes what I’m about to say really painful. I love their beer selection, always have a tasty tipple for me to get stuck into after a good biking session. I had the Firebird Citra for the first time this day and I enjoyed it a lot. The staff are friendly and willing to help, which is all positive and encouraging. The food hasn’t been amazing the last couple of years though, I thought this time it would be different, but I was sadly a little dissatisfied and disappointed. I got a sausage and onion baguette and to be fair that is exactly what I got. But… For £10 I would expect what I got to come with Chips and sadly it didn’t, we had to order chips for an extra £7 admittedly we went for the cheesy chips, but I’m fairly certain the standard ones were a fiver. Then the second nail in the coffin was the Half pint of Diet Coke I got, this was £3!! For a half pint of soda stream Diet Coke… that’s a lot by anyone’s standards especially round here. It feels they are slightly taking advantage of the fact that lots of bikers come here and expect they have lots of money, but this is a country pub yet they are charging London prices for some things. I hope my next experience is more positive, but I can’t help but be honest. My mates Steak Baguette did look better, and was only 50p more, but chips included even just a small portion would go a long way.

Yesterday was absolutely fantastic and the staff were absolutely incredible. We came to pizza express for our staff party with 40 people the way that they accommodated every single member of that party and the way they just made sure the night was just so perfect it was unbelievable so I just want to say thank you so much for the stuff at pizza express for making such a memorable night for me and my team ❤️

We had a fantastic experience at Pizza Express all thanks to Martina! She was so lovely, attentive, and interacted wonderfully with the babies. Even though it was busy place she stayed positive and made us feel so welcome. I’m usually very fussy with food but I trusted Martina to choose for me, and it was the best pizza I’ve ever had! The kids were happy and full, and we are so grateful for her amazing service. Thank you, Martina!

Took advantage of their £8 pizza. Monika, my server, explained that this price is for app members only. Downloaded the app, checked in with table number and got the discount. Monika was a gem, btw. Large long venue with a private room to boot.

The atmosphere is nice, but very noisy acoustics. They could do with sound sound absorbing panels, flooring, and ceiling. We all found it difficult to hear each other. The food was great, however. You know what you're going to get at a Pizza Express. 🍕 super good pizzas!

This is one is the best pizza express that I have gone to. As soon as me and my girlfriend walked in all the workers (including the chefs) greeted us. Anya made us feel welcomed and even though we have been to pizza express before she still went through the allergy’s with us. The food tasted nice and fresh and perfect temperature. They were quick with services and took time talking to other tables in the restaurant. Cant wait to come back!! Thank you all !

Nestled away on Swan Lane, just off Guildford High Street, Cambio Marcia is a delightful modern Italian osteria that has quickly made its mark in the local dining scene. This charming eatery offers a unique twist on traditional Italian fare, focusing on Ligurian flavors and featuring a menu that changes regularly to highlight regional specialties. As you ascend the stairs to this hidden gem, you'll be welcomed by friendly staff who create an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying authentic Venetian-style dishes.
A fantastic addition to Guildford’s restaurant scene. The warmest welcome was followed by flawless service. Absolutely delicious food that was clearly freshly made. The focaccia is magical! Extensive wine list too. I hope lots of people notice this hidden gem!

First visit to Cambia Marcia but definitely won’t be our last. The food was delicious and, whenever I visit a new Italian restaurant I always try their tiramisu, and I can say that the tiramisu uncle Max was the best I have had in a very long time. We had the basic wine which was a pleasure too and they are very happy to suggest wine pairings. Service was attentive but not rushed. There are only a few tables so worth booking in advance. However, if you go mid week you may be lucky if you just pop in. So definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been tempted so far.

What a gem of a restaurant! We stumbled across it by accident looking for somewhere to eat before a gig and didn’t have a reservation. The staff kindly found space for us and we are so glad they did. The service was warm and friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed and cosy, and the food was absolutely unbelievable. Truly some of the most delicious dishes we have ever eaten. We will definitely be back and will recommend Cambio Marcia to anyone who will listen!!

We enjoyed a fabulous feast of Northern Italian / Ligurian cuisine this evening. The last time I dined here was many years ago but I’d seen lots of good reviews online recently so we decided to check it out. Service from Serena and all of the team was charming and we enjoyed the food - starters of antipasti platter and burrata were particularly good. For mains we chose the pesto lasagna and the baked truffle tagliolini, both of which were super rich and decadent. It’s definitely a cosy restaurant and did get a little noisy later into the evening but it was a Saturday evening and to be honest, just added to the atmosphere. I’d highly recommend booking a table though to avoid disappointment as it’s clearly very popular. We’d definitely like to come back again and try some more menu items- the focaccia recco looks incredible so we would definitely order this next time. I can also confirm that the tiramisu is as good as it looks! Thanks to the team for a lovely evening and for reigniting my love for a well poured Aperol Spritz! ❤️

My friend and i stumbled upon Lunch Room, and im so glad we did😍 the pizza focaccia is just *chef’s kiss* delicious especially when heated up and a drizzle of olive oil🙏 my friend got the pesto pasta which was 10/10 i had the lasagna but u fear it needed a bit of salt or more spices in the bachamel and the meat, it would be amazing!🤩 Alex served us and made our afternoon with his kindness and smiles! Also thank you to Alex for giving us free tiramisu which was 11/10 😍 and gave us focaccia to go!! Will def recommend to all my friends

A very special place which I hope will be kept a secret! Unbelievable focaccia, freshly made and kept us coming back for more. Pasta was perfect, these guys know what they are doing. A simple menu but that pays dividends. Daily specials keep you coming back and they very much deserve it.

Fantastic place! Extremely good simple Italian cuisine. Everything tasted incredible! The service was exemplary and the wine menu will suit all budgets. We ordered some very good wines which were wonderful and complicated the food perfectly. The venue is small and intimate so get in there now before everyone catches on, I recon this place will be booked out in no time. It’s so good for Guildford to get a superb independent like this, there are not enough. I will be going back as soon as I can. Well worth 5 stars!!!!

As soon as you walk in you are greeted by Maddi with a big warm welcome which is rare from most restaurants these days. During my recent adventure to the Silent Pool Distillery, I stumbled upon a delightful culinary treasure known as Pastanni. The freshly made pasta is crafted to order and comes with a variety of mouthwatering sauces and toppings, ensuring there's something for everyone—even the pickiest eaters!
This place is so wonderful! We had a gin tasting and then brought a G&T and sat outside overlooking the pool. We couldn’t go past the pasta and we’re so glad we didn’t! It’s a choose your own adventure menu. I selected the sauce and then asked the chef to select the rest.. and he didn’t disappoint. Pasta was perfect and the ingredients were superb 🙌 fresh pasta, delicious chorizo and tasty truffles.. yum! Thank you!

His pasta is really original and delicious. I had the creamy silent pool gin sauce with squid ink tagliatelle. It was just naughty. Such a sweet guy who clearly loves what he does. I'm looking forward to filling up my new loyalty card.

We recently visited Silent Pool Distillery for a walk and stumbled upon a hidden gem by the pool: a quaint spot called Pastanni. This delightful place offers a culinary experience that pleasantly surprised the taste buds of three generations in our family—my mother, my daughter, and myself. The pasta at Pastanni was absolutely delicious, perfectly satisfying even the fussiest eaters among us. Each dish was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. To top off our meal, we indulged in their handmade cake and hot chocolate, both of which were delightful and provided a perfect end to our visit. Our experience at Pastanni was thoroughly enjoyable, and we wholeheartedly recommend it. We look forward to returning soon!

Nestled in the heart of Guildford, Piattini Kitchen & Cocktails is a delightful culinary gem that combines the charm of an Italian tapas bar with a vibrant cocktail scene. This stylish venue offers a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for unwinding away from the hustle and bustle of high street life. Guests rave about their diverse menu featuring fresh small plates, delectable pizzas, and mouthwatering pasta dishes that are ideal for sharing.
This is a little tucked away gem in Guildford. It sells the most delicious Italian tapas style food at a really affordable price. I had the mushroom anancici which was huge and super flavourful, along with a lovely goats cheese with focaccia They also generously gave us a free focaccia to start which was tasty. The service was also really good and the waiters were so polite. Would recommend!!

Delicious food and tasty cocktails. We booked for dinner here and it was easy to get to, enjoyed the ambience as the mood was right enough to listen to the in-house noise or hold a conversation. Our waitress was great in responding to our queries.

The service was 100000/10 honestly the chef and the server (unfortunately we didnt get their names but the server was spanish) were fantastic they were the only 2 working and they were so friendly communicated with us the whole way through the food was lovely You could see the chef preparing it fresh from the kitchen the interior is beautiful and lots of gluten free options l what a hidden gem! We will be back

Piattini’s is the definition of a hidden gem tucked away in a quiet side street off the Guildford Highstreet right next to The Townhouse. Interior was lovely - modern but romantically lit with table candle lights. My other half and I were warmly welcomed by Brian, a gracious and friendly server. Cocktails and drinks were perfect, made by a lovely bartender whose name I can’t remember (sorry!!). The menu is beautifully written and it was a challenge to decide what dishes to order as they all sounded greatly appealing. We landed on the 6 plate tapas, priced at £40 (worth every penny). The food was generously seasoned and each plate had a rich depth of flavour. We could not fault a single bite. Incredibly moreish! In the end we bought a second round of truffle fries to go. Despite us being the last table, the kitchen were generous to accommodate this. Thank you for our wonderful experience - we will be raving about this restaurant for days to friends and family! Most definitely will have to come back.

We've just had a really lovely midweek lunch at Piattini.. such a refreshing change to see a different menu. We chose the 6 plate Italian Tapas selection including the meatballs, goats cheese, tenderstem and we thoroughly enjoyed it.. especially the garlic and chilli seared prawn on sourdough which didn't last us long enough for a photograph it was so delicious! The staff were so friendly, welcoming and attentive. A brilliant place for a group of friends to meet for lunch, share a few plates and just enjoy this quiet corner of Guildford. We will definitely come back. There is even a private space for parties which looked great.

From the moment you step inside Piattini Kitchen & Cocktails, you’re transported into a warm, vibrant atmosphere that blends modern elegance with a cozy, intimate vibe. The cocktails? Absolute perfection. And the food… oh, the food! This is Italian cuisine at its finest authentic, soulful, and made with love. If you’re in Guildford and haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Piattini is not just a restaurant it’s an experience worth savoring again and again. ⭐ 5/5 — My new favourite spot for dinner and drinks!
Alecsa C — Google review
My partner and I wanted to try somewhere new for lunch yesterday in Guildford, so chose Piattini based on its great reviews. It's a real shame to have such a disappointing first impression. So much so that we would not return there. First, let me start with the positives: the waitress was courteous and polite, and she changed my wine when I pointed out that it was off. Now for the areas that Piattini could improve in. When entering the near-empty establishment (there was only one other couple seated), I said a loud "Hello" to catch the attention of the two members of staff behind the bar. Both looked my way - then turned their back on us without a word. It really is unforgivable in this day and age to have poor service like this when restaurant competition is so high and when manners are free. After we'd received our first dish of six, we were told that there was only one chef and it might take some time for the other dishes to come out. It would have been nice to know this before we had ordered. Regarding the food, given the reasonable pricing, we were not expecting Michelin-star food - but we're not expecting over-salty and burnt food. You can see buy the photos that the garlic on the prawns and toast was totally burnt and the courgette fritta was more batter than courgette. The salad wasn't dressed with any oil and the whole meal was crying out for some kind of sauce to accompany things. Also, the focaccia was more a fresh baked bread which was nice but wasn't a focaccia. I don't enjoy leaving reviews like this but hope it will help to improve the experience for other diners in the future.

Unbelievable spot, wish I had found it sooner. The pizza was better than a lot of pizza I’ve had in Italy! The Piattini with a bottle of wine is fantastic as well. Our server Jess was amazing, she made us feel so welcome from start to finish. 10/10 recommend highly!
