We went to the restaurant yesterday and the waiter was super rude!!! We asked him if there are any tables we can sit at and he told us "Do you see any???" in a very aggressive tone and left! That is not the way one treats guests! Many tables were actually free inside! I don't know why he was that rude and aggressive but I hope management does something about this kind of behaviour!!!!!

I always enjoy being here. Actually, everything works in a direction that makes you feel like you're on vacation in France. The menu includes some exquisite dishes and combinations that are hard to find elsewhere in the region. Yet the dishes are designed to be light. Primarily galettes and crepes, but also soups and salads. In addition to the table service, in the summer there are also outdoor tables to choose from, there is a small store sale of French specialties.

I had a galette la complete and a chestnut puree crepe for dessert. The place is cosy. The food was good although the service is a tad slow for a creperie. If I compare it to other creperies I've been to, I find their topping / filling options on their menus are a little limited. I really enjoyed their selection of ciders. I had a Normandy rosé cider that was fantastic!

Amazingly delicious! And our take-away package was so well and nicely prepared, including anticeptic towels too. Highly recommended restaurant in Weimar, both for food and sweets!

Located within the historic Hotel Elephant, AnnA offers a cozy ambiance, especially on the open terrace during summer. The service is friendly, and the staff provides excellent wine recommendations. Overall, AnnA lacks culinary finesse but compensates with its pleasant atmosphere.

The place is so great, the food feels authentic German, service was fantastic, it was a slow winter day for them. Just next door, a personal favourite Johann Sebastian Bach the composer lived and wrote some of his cornerstone work, but also the hotel elephant played an interesting role in WWII. History in every footstep, wonderful, highly recommended.

One of the very few restos in Weimar altstadt that has english speaking waiters and english menu list. Nice ambience and very cosy. Tried the venison and the pork with mushroom sauce. Big plates nicely served and tasty dishes. The rose wine is fruitful with excellent colour. Highly recomended for German and english speaking tourists.

We were just walking looking for a quiet but good place to eat. The service was friendly and quick. The food was simple and wonderfully cooked. The prices were reasonable. This is worth a stop if you want to eat good german food in weimar. My german in-laws loved the food.

I never like German food. But the food here is all amazing. We were served by a very friendly server and a robot. Moreover the seasonal beer (Maibock) was amazing and guests were respectful locals. It is always full though. So you better come with a reservation at least a few hours before dining. If anything I will totally come back at least once per month to try the seaonal beer. Totally recommended!!

Horrible restaurant service. I went for the first time, the restaurant was empty. We sat outside and waited for 15 minutes and no one came to serve us or bring a menu. We just got up and left. Tried again today as a group of 5 and was even worse. The waitress gave us 1 menu and didn't even clean our table (there were dirty glasses there from previous customers). We had to go inside to get more menus by ourselves when more friends arrived since the waitress never came back to our table. Location on the patio was lovely and I'm sure it's a great spot when they have live music playing. That being said, the portion size seemed rather small by German standards.

The staff is friendly and the location is central, quiet and atmospheric - you can either eat inside the restaurant or in a lovely, green, quiet courtyard, just a few steps from the Frauenplan/Goethe house. We appreciated that they offer cooked lunch (Mittagsmenu) this year, a great option if you prefer to dine at lunch time.

They have a weekly menu with a mixed selection of dishes from more modern international food to traditional food from the region. I had a very good Sauerbraten with beautifully light potato dumplings (praiseworthy), tender, fall apart pork and steamed carrots. For dessert, we had warm apple strudel with vanilla ice cream and strawberry puree. Very nice indeed. We sat there for a good 2 hours on comfortable seats with a good distance from other diners. My only criticism? We waited a good 20 minutes for a waiter to even acknowledge our existence before taking matters into our own hands and waving enthusiastically for attention (we might have sat there for another 20 minutes had we not...) Staff were perfectly friendly and professional once there, but service was slow indeed... However, if you're not pressed for time, this place is definitely recommended!

The food is pretty good and they have vegan options for those who are interested. It’s also great that it’s open late, since many places in Weimar are not!

We loved the sourdough bread so much that we even bought it from the nearby bakery as a little souvenir to enjoy at home for a few more days. We waited a very long time for my father-in-law’s meal to arrive and after waiting 10 mins from the time the rest of the plates had been served we alerted a waiter to the missing dish. The waiter disappeared without returning and 5 minutes later we then asked another waiter to investigate what was going on. After some minutes he returned saying the kitchen was very busy the cooks were stressed as the restaurant was full and they only had 6 burners to cook on. The second waiter then tried to appease the situation by apologising and offering other cold alternatives, at which point the first waiter returned with a replacement meal which had been hastily prepared. On inspection my father-in-law found that the liver dish he had ordered was completely raw, the second waiter then examined the plate and agreed it was unacceptable and returned it to the kitchen. As an alternative the waiter then offered my father-in-law a plate of cheese and ham and some bread (which we were subsequently charged 27 Euros for). By the time this cold plate was served half an hour had gone by and the rest of us had already finished our meals. The dishes we ate were all fine, but not particularly special, but you can imagine our collective disappointment at not being able to eat together, as this was meant to be a special occasion. Of course, mistakes happen but Gretchen’s restaurant is pitched as a high-quality venue not Burger King (and in fairness to Burger King I expect they might have handled the situation better). We won't be going back again because we don’t think the restaurant handled the situation professionally. Here's a few suggestions to avoid losing more customers should this happen again: 1. Check all the plates are served and the customers are content with what they ordered within a few minutes of the service being 'complete' (this didn't happen) 2. When a waiter is alerted to a problem, they should report back to the customer immediately (this didn't happen) 3. When the problem is identified, don’t blame your colleagues or the equipment (this did happen) 4. When you try to catch up and get the missing plate out do make sure it is properly cooked (this didn't happen) 5. When you are still flailing around after 30 minutes don't make any further excuses, get the customer anything they want within reason and tell them its on the house (this didn't happen) 6. When you prepare the final bill, try to be generous - even a small reduction or a free glass of wine or two (on a bill of several hundred Euros) would go a long way as an apology (this didn't happen). 7. This is an 'incident' where the manager or front-of-house should have made a formal apology - not just the waiter. (this didn’t happen) Mistakes happen, but it is how you deal with them that counts. Restaurants are not just selling food; they are selling an experience. This was an experience that could have been avoided, at every one of the steps listed above, and is one we would be very happy not to repeat.

I recently visited this pho restaurant and wanted to share my honest experience. While the staff were courteous and the environment was pleasant, I found the broth to be surprisingly bland. The noodles themselves were decent, but overall the dish lacked the depth of flavor I had hoped for. For a dish that typically highlights aromatic spices and a rich broth, this rendition fell somewhat short in terms of taste. Please understand that flavor preferences can be highly subjective—others may enjoy a milder pho—but in my personal experience, the balance of spices, herbs, and savory notes was insufficient to make the dish stand out. I hope future visits bring more robust seasoning or attention to the broth, as I would genuinely like to see the full potential of this menu offering.

I had Pad Thai and it was very tasty. It wasn't at all how it is prepared in Thailand, normally the noodles are cooked in a wok together with the ingredients and a little sauce so that the sauce penetrates the noodles. Here, the noodles were simply boiled in water, topped with the ingredients and poured over with sauce. This gives the noodles a slightly different consistency to pad Thai from Thailand. The spiciness was also more German. But it was still very tasty. Another tip is the Pho. The restaurant is very popular, which is why it is highly recommended to always reserve a table here.

Was a really nice place until they deceived at the payment. We even gave a good amount of tip because we liked the food and place but then they didn't give back the right amount. We even had to argue with them, that this wasn't the right amount of change. Really a horrible experience. We will never come back we had been here every year for three years but not anymore. Super disrespectful, do not recommend. Definitely scammers.

The fish burger there tastes like “Leberkäse” a German meat type. When people order fish they expect fish taste and meat taste. It was not possible to finish the burger. It was not a nice experience there. The burger came without French fries, even it costs more than 18 euros. It is a nice cozy atmosphere.

We came from the Czech Republic, where we are used to Vietnamese restaurants with larger portions and more varied menus. Overall, it was good, but the portion of meat in the pho soup was too small for my taste.

The food is generally of average quality. Extremely overprized, especially in comparison to 2023/2024. The menu looks fancier than before but the dishes are the same as always, just way more expensive. Don‘t trust the photos in the menu. I ordered a PhoCo Burger for 17€. The photo in the menu included a beautiful plate with sweet potatoes and a sauce. I just got an average lonely Burger without even being asked if I wanted to add chips/sauce as well. Apparently one pays extra for both chips (5€) and sauce(?€), even though the photo includes everything under „PhoCo Burger“. The service is unfriendly, not personal, not caring, and there are often communication problems. There are definitely better alternatives in Weimar, like in Wielandplatz.

Really wanted to like this place. Took a seat and waited….and waited. Waitress with blond hair was drinking a glass of wine with friends at another table and too busy to serve anyone. I got up to get service inside, after waiting and , as she saw me go inside. she responded in German that she would be there when she was finished. OK, why didn’t you come over whileI waited? Too busy drinking with friends? Drink on your own time! A different waitress approached and started to berate me, in English, claiming her colleague was just talking with friends and not drunk on the job. Really! Ok. Good try. but your “colleague” never came over to serve me at all and you did! She had a wine glass in her hand and was drinking! I don’t care she’s drinking, I just want a drink! Then, the new waitress started complaining and berating me because I I placed the menu she gave me on a wet table after a rainfall . OK, do blame me? Clean the table. It’s your job . Where was I supposed to put the menu? Served my drink by a guy. Third person I saw. Where was my waitress? No tip. No food order. Never come again… Very Disappointed. I was ready to spend a lot of money having a good time but the mood was spoiled. Recommend the management supervise their personnel to make sure they are serving customers instead of drinking.

Very good beer and food. The pulled pork burger came with this nice stretchy cheese and dark, fluffy bun. Packed with flavor. Really recommend the fries with it as well - they were fresh and piping hot. The schnitzel was also good. If you go around dinnertime, expect a wait - we had to wait 40+ min for our food after we ordered.

We had a wonderful dinner at Benediktiner Wirtshaus im joHanns Hof in Weimar. The service was warm and friendly, the food was excellent, and the dessert was outstanding. A perfect evening from start to finish!

Overpriced, underwhelming, and lost in translation. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t speak English and my German is… aspirational at best. Communication was a challenge, but sadly, so was the food. What we got was below average – and shockingly expensive. We paid €110 for three meals, and not one of us managed to finish even half the plate. That says something. Definitely not worth it, neither for the taste nor the price. I can’t recommend it.

Rice German Restaurant, there are not many options for Vegetarian, but they have Veg like German style Ofen-potatos with different sauce and some others. Service is good and friendly. It was nice food.

The service was also extremely friendly and polite, and English speaking as well. I will definitely make this my place to go to when I come visit Weimar!

I loved the place! Food was great, portions very generous (too large for myself and kids and even for my hubby - he said although managed it 😉 staff couldn't speak English but compensated very well with politeness and friendliness. Decor and music were definitely my cup of tea. Couldn't pay with a card and it was a bit pricey (hence 4 stars) but overall very happy with what we got :)

The best Pommes I’ve tried living in Germany. Even Berlin can’t be compared with this art in Weimar. Highly recommended. We enjoyed the biggest portion and it made our day.

If you’re looking for a nice and friendly place to have a good discussion and good dinner surrounded by heritage atmosphere, served by a very nice waiter with plenty of good food and good coffee blends, clean toilet and reasonable price, this is it, I would recommend this place to you. Me and my wife had dinner here from around 5pm up until 10pm. We discussed from A to Z, back to A again and to Z again and again..

Really liked this for lunch. Worth a visit! The service was good and so was the food. Nice to sit outside. Had dish of the day. It seems like a place the locals steps by. It was gourmet but either was the price.

The best part about this place, besides the fact that it serves the biggest hot chocolate in Weimar, is that it is student friendly. So you don't have to worry that they'll ask you to leave if you start doing your homework there. Also, they have an outdoors seating area.

We went here on our team off-site event for dinner. The food was good but not mind blowing. The service wasn't tue fastest and they gave me a half empty bottle of water but quickly rectified their mistake. I would probably look for another place to eat next time I'm in Weimar but not because of the food or service, only because I like variety.

On a touristy square, but nicely themed and nice interior with yes a lot of bears ;-). Pet friendly, our dogs immediately got a bowl of water. Service was fast. In April a young couple took over this wonderful restaurant and I must say they are doing a great job of it. Very friendly and if you have an extra request no problem. A menu with local dishes, and best of all local wines and beers. If you are in Weimar don't give this a miss.

Extremely slow service. Almost finished the coffee by the time they served the cake … after several reminders. They also place the cake slices to be picked up by the waitresses on the bench for loooooong, at the same spot that other customers lean to watch the cakes … practically breathing coughing and sneezing (!) on top of the ones which are ready to be served. Disgusting incident with an old man … fortunately it wasn’t served to me.

Love this place. Good selection of food plenty of fresh veggies, enormous selection of desserts. Customers were relaxing sociably over their meals then taking a long time to drink their coffee, some of them reading newspapers. It was an atmosphere that may not suit everybody but it certainly worked for me. Being close to the university I suspect many of the clients are academics.

Very rude waitresses, refuse to make eye-contact. There is a great lack of hospitality. The waitress expect me to help serve out drinks on the table without even asking. The coffee and tea were reasonable, and the terrace was okay. That's the two stars.

Extremely poor service. They perhaps give more attention to locals though. The food was mediocre. The vegetarian tofu dish was a bit odd and the ingedients didn't really tie together. The goose quarter was overcooked and a bit dry. We had to wait 25 minutes to get a latte macchiato and cake after our lunch (at 14:00). The latte sat on the bar for 15 minutes before they served it. They ignored us when we asked for the bill. They are obviously understaffed and cannot handle having a full restaurant. I would only suggest it for the cakes.

Small food selection (a large variety of dessert though). Terrible service: one of the most central squares in Weimar, yet no English menu, no one speaks any other language but German. Unbelievably slow service, most of the time just ignoration. Overpriced. Many better options around.

Staff are very friendly and eager to provide a good experience to the guests. They also provide off the menu items upon request. We tried their chole bhature and it was a very filling experience. The thick curd that they provided along with the dish was really enjoyable as well. The prices are quite decent and along with the good food and great staff make this a great Indian restaurant experience in Weimar.

The staff was extremely kind. The food was delicous. Five star rating, however, are about the little things. The asked us multiple times, if we are satisfied or in need of anything else. They’ve given us an appetizer in form of crackers and various sauces for free. After we ate our food, they’ve also given us free icecream. A bit disappointed, I came here for 6 years and somehow the experience slowly decreased in satisfaction mainly regarding the service: 1st of all the menu is full of french orthographic mistakes, which I think is REALLY sad for a french restaurant... Pretending that Chorizo is french is surprising. My last experience was definitely the worse: I ordered the "panier de poissons", which was extremely salty, Cutlery was broken and nobody seem to care. At the desert time I even experienced that some food was missing in my plate compared to what was announced in the menu, the waiter pretended I was wrong and that was not on the menu without either checking the menu. How come waiters cannot even know what is written of the 2 pages menu of the restaurant they work for? I am sad to write that is definitely not an experience you could have in any restaurant of this range in France

One of the big disadvantages of living in Germany is the pervasive ignorance of l'onglet -- aka hanging tender, aka butchers' cut. In my view, it's the best steak. I had to try it at La Tarte when visiting Weimar. At first glance, I was underwhelmed; the meat looked overcooked and the servings of haricot verts and gratin potatoes were less than ample. But OMG! Everything was SO delicious. The onglet, while not as pink as I thought I wanted, was perhaps the most tender I've ever tasted. The gratin was a perfect balance of cheese and potato; the haricot verts, the thinnest I've ever seen, were perfectly cooked and salted. I may have to move to Weimar.

Not a restaurant masquerading as French but an authentic French bistrot. Perfect escargots; tartare comme il faut, I thought I was back in France. Magnificent dessert, Moelleux de chocolat with little bowls of fruit crème and glace. Long and interesting wine list. Merci!

We went for a family birthday and the diner was wonderful. I am french, i live in germany and for the evening, i felt i was in a restaurant in Paris. Beef and duck were delicious. 5 Stars for the service young man. I think it is my best french restaurant in germany so far! Thank you

It's a Italian ristorante with a Nice courtyard faced towards the one of the Uni buildings. We had the anti pasti Trattoria which was very tastfull with the classic Italian products. Also a pasta and lasagne as main course, simply what you expect. Certainly a next visit worth.

It's a historical beautiful place, if you want to be in nature, or don't want to go back at night after the party downstairs; Good choice if you stay one or two nights macimum, with shared bathroom and kitchen for several rooms. It has long stairs and you better not to take heavy luggages. the nature around is so beautiful and the restaurant is so elegant, but it clised some days, so better to check before you go. the bus stop is within 4 minutes walk.

This is the second time I have been to this restaurant and it is my favourite place in all of Weimar. It was recommended to me by some locals - and quite right. I went to 10-15 venues in and around Weimar and this is our clear favourite. Absolutely stunning setting (Tiefurt and the river are gorgeous - worth the walk from Weimar) and the food is truly fabulous. We are vegetarians and I would strongly recommend the (vegan) curry and the tagliatelle are amazing. I would also like to mention how friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming the team are, most notably Eugene. I would recommend this restaurant to all our friends and family. Definitely one of not the best restaurant within the Weimar region. Also outstanding value. Eugene - thank you. We will back soon

The food was delicious! The menu has a wide variety of pizzas and pasta priced very well for the portion size. The only negative is that being a self service restaurant the tables were dirty, surfaces weren't wiped after patrons left

We have come to this place and got really disappointed. 1. Pizza was tasty, but there was no salami, although we have ordered with it (it is seen on the pic attached) 2. The pizzamaker wasn't friendly, rather irritated. He can't even speak English, so we couldn't ask him properly even about the place to wash hands When we asked about the allergens (written in the end of the pizza name in brackets), the pizzamaker has replied there is nothing written. 3. Hygiene was bad. The pizzamaker hasn't had gloves, and even worse, he was keeping his phone on the top of the dough pie. 4. The pizzamaker hasn't warned payments by card are not available. We figured out that we can pay in cash only by the moment of picking the pizza up. Can't recommend this place, atmosphere and pizzamaker's attitude were bad, and pizza doesn't comply with it's description.

Nice place for pizza in the heart of Weimar. I had pizza with eggplant it was well priced, very delicious and arrived hot right from the oven. We sat outside, enjoyed our food and watched the people go by. Support your local businesses.

Best pizza in Weimar! Antonio’s is a great pizza place with a funny guy working the oven. I had a few of their pizzas as well as their pasta Antonio, and each item I had was delicious. It’s also a great place to go at the end of a long day since they are open later than most places.

Went to have lunch there with a friend yesterday. My Penne marinara was the best pasta marinara I ever had. Despite the small amount of seafood, the sauce was well made! Loved it!

This is without a doubt the best pizza in Weimar! I miss it everyday. The restaurant is lovely and the outdoor seating area even more so. I visited this place many times while I was in town and it always seemed very romantic. The service was really good too.

Pomodoro is a nice Italian restaurant located in the heart of Weimar. Sitting outside watching the plaza is a great experience. I started with the Caprese Bruschetta which was tasty, I wish there was more mozzarella on it however. For the entree I had the Pennete Rigate Corte d Assisi which was very good. Nothing really blew me away but the service was good and the location is superb. I had a cappuccino at the end of the meal which was well made.

Pizza was really good and wine was much above expectations. The food preparation time is really fast and you can directly see your pizza being baked in a stone oven. Little drawback - the number of waiters and working experience of some of them could be better. But overall - very good 😊

Delicious pizza and pasta. Pasta was already brought to the table 10 minutes before the pizza. The young man who helped us was the hardest worker of all employees but what was he grumpy. At least a lot of chairs on the terrace were obsolete, due a full terrace, some customers were very uncomfortable because there were no good chair's left.

I ate there both nights out of the 2 nights I spent in Weimar. I had 3 plates each night and only the cheese was not made in-house. It is extremely rare that every single dish that comes out of the kitchen is faultless, but this is the case here. I would be confident if I ate there tomorrow and tried the small plates I have not yet tried, they would all be good. Some say it is expensive but you get what you pay for. Three small plates with two glasses of wine for 38 euros I consider a bargain for this quality. Absolutely Recommended as a must visit in Weimar.

Great food, amazing service at a reasonable price! We arrived Saturday night before the closing time with young children after a long trip. The owner was kind to re-open the kitchen and we had great dinner.

Loved it! Tried this baby calamaris in the lunch menu. So well grilled. The vegetable was also very very well cooked, not too soft ! They gave a very yummy free chicken soup and some bread as starter. Highly recommend. Amazing food, friendly service with good price!

Average German food instead of Greek, quite expensive. Not recommended if you want to try authentic Greek cuisine. According to other comments I had expected free ouzo after meal, but I was offered nothing. All other german costmers were provided with ouzos. What a shame! One of my friends also encountered that teenagers threw something at her. I am very dissappointed about the city.

I ordered "Leitungswasser" and after explaining the waiter that i dont want bottled water, he said "alles klar", but they still charged 4,40€ for 4dl of water, which came in a glass without the bottle! Also, the meat was dry and obviously from the previous day. Food was really disappointing and tasted like warmed up leftovers.

While the Napoli pizza (anchovies and capers) was quite tasty by nature, the Caprese pizza was very bland. The service was very friendly and we were seated nicely.

The pizza was fine and the size was pretty great, however it lacked a little bit of flavor and spices, for the price of it you can go to Dominos and eat maybe two pizzas that will be just as tasty. Nevertheless it was a great place to have lunch right in the middle of the beautiful city center. The atmosphere is warm and cozy.

Bland, unsalted food. Restaurant is saving on ingredients like meat & cheese. Carbonara was not creamy. Better go to the other Italian nearby, far better. This restaurant is not run by Italians.

I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant today. When I waved in a completely normal and polite manner to get the waiter’s attention for ordering, he approached me and lectured me in a serious tone, saying that this gesture is not acceptable in Germany because it supposedly resembles a historically controversial salute. I was honestly shocked — my hand gesture was absolutely innocent and common, not exaggerated or disrespectful in any way. I replied calmly, saying, “I understand, but I think maybe you’re being a little too sensitive.” The waiter then became quite personal and said he’s old enough to be my father, and I shouldn’t speak to him using “du” (the informal “you”), but rather “Sie” (the formal form), because we’re not friends. The conversation became uncomfortable, and I didn’t feel welcome at all. I ended up leaving the restaurant without eating. I couldn’t help but feel that I was treated differently — and worse — because I am a foreigner. It’s deeply disappointing and shows a lack of hospitality and openness, which is especially surprising in a service setting.

Only had the pizza here but the woodfire oven made the base of the pizza really good however what was on the pizza was bland. I got the capresse pizza. Which turned out to be extremely bland. The sauce no taste plus the toppings you would usually get such as olive oil, parmesano, salt, pepper and balsamico were not served with our food and when I asked for some it was taken from another table that just finished eating. Also we were only strictly able to order pizza, we arrived an hour before closing

A really cosy cafe with an old school charm to it. Pretty central location in Weimar and easy to find. There’s not much parking around but it’s close enough for a quick stroll. The menu is fairly straight forward and all items are customisable. A coffee is roughly €3 and a breakfast meal around about €6. The staff also speak English so can helpfully guide you through the menu. The decor has a really old cafe charm to it with nice bookcases and chairs making it feel like you’re at home. However, I would book and make a reservation as space can be limited at the busy times in the morning.

This cafe is super beautiful both inside and outside. It’s a perfect place to spend some time on your own, reading a book. I’ve ordered cappuccino with soya milk and sadly it was the worst cappuccino I’ve ever tried :( But in general I liked this place. Just wouldn’t recommend ordering what I ordered.

the main problem with this otherwise charming café is the service: (very) slow, hardly attentive. an observation: other guests were not given silverware with their breakfast, and had to be aided by still other customers. besides, the prices do not seem right (certainly as regards value for money). the place has potential, and could seem comfortable otherwise.

Terrible experience. They don't have card reader. They said there was a sign on the door but it is little and in German. They insisted to keep my passport with them and go away to find a cash machine. It is against the law, by the way. I was sent TWICE from their cafe to get cash. It was really unpleasant and humiliating. The owner lady didn't say even a sorry, she behavied as if I was a stupid tourist and it would have been my fault not to keep cash with me. I spent a half hour to pay 12 euro. Rude, lawless, terrible owner, doesn't deserve to have this café.

Very nice atmosphere like a traditional coffee house with books, newspapers, etc. that invites you to stay longer than you actually needed or wanted to. ;) The tea and cake were great and the staff super friendly. The only thing that I was missing was some decaf coffee and vegan options, but if that’s not an interest to you, you’ll be perfectly happy. :)

I love this place. The city is fantastic and when we visit we hit this place for some of the best Schnitzel you can find. We have never been disappointed with the quality of food, or the friendly service.

You like schnitzel and you want something else then the standard ones? This is the place for you! A large veriaty of Schnitzels and even the option to "build" you own (like with pizza). The portions are BIG, and we did not even get the XL versions..... The Schnitzels are good and so is the accompanying fries. The mayonaise and ketchup bottles are equally large. The service was good enough.

Super friendly owner and staff ! It is one of the few places in Weimar where you are welcome even if you do not speak German. It's such a shame that many places will offer terrible service to non-german speakers. And I am saying that as a German. These guys will be happy to speak English with you. The portions are delicious and huuuuge and it is no problem whatsoever to take home whatever you cannot finish so you have a ready lunch the next day. Definitely try the cauliflower schnitzel !!! :)

Good beer clean toilet and that whole experience for just a small price!! Went there 2 times and both visits where consistently pleasing, will definitely go there again!

Restaurant Apollon is a great place in Weimar for Greek. The Kreta Teller has a little bit of everything and tastes great. The lamb chops are spectacular and the staff are all very helpful.

The Food was quite good. There is alot of outside seating not so much inside so it's better to call ahead if one wants to sit inside. The Staff was a little weird, one staff member didn't know the menu and the item on the menu had to be pointed out. The staff member who brought us our food, just called out the numbers and was seemingly annoyed that some of us didn't remember the numbers. At last we wanted to split the check 4 ways which also seemd to be more annoyance to the waiter.

Good beer. Tasty food which came piping hot. Pleasant patio. Nice fresh salad came with the main dish. Reasonable prices.

Beginning to feel the slight chill of evening, we were pleased to sit inside where the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The tables were well positioned to allow our party of six to chat pleasantly without intrusion. The food was substantial and tasty- none of this „nouvelle cuisine“ type stuff. The service was excellent- all staff upbeat, patient and helpful. I can sincerely recommend this dining experience.

We had a great first meal in Weimar here at Arno’s Restaurant. Good potato dumplings. And the flammkuchen was divine. Delightful location.

I‘m an Aussie and I love a good flat white. This is the best coffee I’ve had in all of Germany over the last 10 years, and I’m not exaggerating! Smooth froth, strong, tasteful, and even lovely latte art on top. The baked goods were delicious too! I only wish I lived in Weimar so I could give these people my money more regularly.

Simply fantastic. We absolutely loved it. I lived in Weimar for quite some years and when we visited I had to go there immediately. I have to say it's even better than in the beginning. The buns, the croissants, the focaccia, coffee, chai latte... All extraordinary. Love this place for its cozy atmosphere and delicious rye brownies or cinnamon zimtknut and mini Babka. Only down side is the stools are uncomfortable and not suitable for lengthy visits.

A fine example of German bread culture. All of their breads and the spreads are amazing. Great quality. Vegan friendly options. A little pricey but worth the money. If you want coffee to go then prepare to have your own flask / mug or you need to buy refundable mug from there. And because of its popularity it’s very busy. Prepare to stand in line.

Nice place to have a break with an oat milk cappuccino and mohnschnecke (vegan) or banana bread (not vegan) while watching the street and people passing by. Recently they started having brunch and it is super tasty, so now it is a great spot for a meal too! I recommend the brunch burger. Also good to know that everything is bio and that it is a local business :)

Really on the edge with this one. Waitresses are very friendly. We did get a spot on a Sunday which is pleasant. I had the egg special, about 10 euros which seems fair. Still: eggs looked good but were on the dry side and rather unseasoned. Cake was good.

I’ve grown to like Koriat during the year I’ve lived in Weimar. It’s very nice to sit outside drinking your cup of coffee and enjoying the city life and the view on the church. They have the best pumpkin Kuchen I’ve ever tried, highly recommend!

Delicious buns and very good cappuccino. We had a cinnamon bun and a Mohn bun that had perfect puffiness, not too sweet, and homemade taste of butter. Highly recommended. Also very fair price. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture :’)

There are nice staff. on sunday thry are really busy. Also the apple cake is so delicious and i asked for take away but the packing was not so safe for the cakes with cream😒..it is better to go on any day except sunday and eat ur cake there😊

We were from Australia and travelling around Germany. After having loads of German food we were looking to fill our taste buds with some Indian food when we were in Weimar. We found this great restaurant and their chicken biriyani, naan and chicken tikka masala was amazing. The biriyani was one of the best’s we had.

Al Dente is a nicely decorated restaurant in the center of the city. The food is okay, the Aperol with EUR 7,80 a little bit pricey. Will come back again.

I had a very unfortunate experience here while with friends. We were quite a large group of around 12 and had asked if that was alright with the staff before we were seated and they agreed it was fine. Although the group was big, we were actually quite quiet as we were all pretty tired and simply wanted a nice meal together. It felt like we were tucked away and avoided as we weren’t given anything until we asked for some bread rolls due to not receiving food well over an hour after ordering. Several members of staff were also very rude to a few members of our group and, despite the food being just fine, the experience overall left a very bad taste in our mouths.

Zwar hat es zwischen der Vorspeise und dem Hauptgang außergewöhnlich lange gedauert, aber dies wurde prompt mit einem kostenfreien Dessert „entschädigt“. Ich möchte erwähnen, dass wir auf jeden Fall ein Dessert bestellt hätten, denn wir waren schon sehr euphorisch bei dem was die Nachbartische so bekommen haben ;-) Das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis ist angemessen. Die Portionen sind mengenmäßig gut und größenmäßig absolut top. Alles in einem kann man hier vorbehaltlos eine Empfehlung aussprechen.
