The Imperial Palace of Goslar is a remarkable 11th-century royal complex that served as the residence for German emperors during the Holy Roman Empire. This Romanesque-style palace is one of Germany's largest and best-preserved secular buildings from that era, earning UNESCO World Heritage status. Despite centuries of disrepair, it was reconstructed in 1879 and remains an impressive structure.
Lovely grassy area which we took our shoes off to enjoy- as only grass we saw in the town. Lovely old building and very peaceful.

The Imperial Palace of Goslar is a remarkable medieval site with a rich history dating back to the 11th century. Inside, the museum showcases artifacts that highlight the Holy Roman Empire’s influence. The Royal Chamber stands out with its beautiful frescoes and impressive medieval décor. From the palace windows, you get a picturesque view of Goslar’s old town, blending history with charming landscapes. While some parts feel a bit worn, the overall experience offers a genuine glimpse into Germany’s imperial past.
Mousa M — Google review
Although I never toured the inside of the palace. I thoughly enjoyed the architecture and green space surrounding the site. Some nice views of Goslar behind the palace. Great place to visit.

The Marktkirche Goslar St. Cosmas und Damian, also known as the Pfarrkirche, is a charming Gothic church with Romanesque stained glass windows and two mismatched towers. The church has undergone several redesigns over the years, resulting in a mix of Gothic, Romanesque, and Renaissance styles. The north tower offers the best panoramic view of Goslar and can be easily climbed using a large wooden staircase.
We went to Goslar for its Weihnachtsmarkt and they made this historical church a part of it. It was the 5th church I've visited so far and it was the second best. I liked the atmosphere and the icons very much. I didn't pay attention that we could buy ticket for going up there on church tower and enjoy the view of this amazing historical city which I regret it a lot.
Soodeh A — Google review

Beautiful church at the historical market place of Goslar.

The interior is austere. Don't look for Rococo frippery or lush Catholic iconography; even the stained glass is functional. The Reformation looks like it had fun here.
Martin W — Google review
Very much recommended to buy entry ticket to church tower! The view is mesmerizing!
Natalia K — Google review
Several magnificent Johannes Schreiter stained glass windows, few of them unfortunately hidden behind the organ.

The ascent of the tower is very interesting and rewards you with a spectacular view from the top. If you're not careful it also provides an eardrum-shattering gong from the bell.

The Mönchehaus Museum Goslar - Verein zur Förderung moderner Kunst e. V. is a cultural gem nestled in the historic old town of Goslar, housed in a charming half-timbered farmhouse dating back to 1528.
Tucked away in the pretty medieval town of Goslar, on the edge of the Harz mountains, is this fantastic gallery. Adorning the walls of its three floors, are dedicated works by the cream of contemporary (post-War) artists, brought together by an internationally-esteemed annual prize, the "Kaiserring", paradoxically all the more coveted for not having a big cash value. The honour of being awarded the famous ring, specially made on each occasion out of gold and aquamarine, is enough. There are works outside, too, including a room in a rough outbuilding of wood and stone, containing a memorably haunting piece by one of the winners, Anselm Kiefer. A captivating and rewarding place to visit.
Christopher T — Google review
Pleasantly surprised by Mönchehaus Museum Goslar. Inside the very traditional city of Goslar the only and yet nice place for contemporary art. Encountered Ansel Kiefer’s work how I like it best, side specific, in a dark intense somewhat creepy basement of a side-building. These 3 installations alone are worth the visit.

The World Heritage Rammelsberg ore mines, located in Goslar, is a significant attraction with a history dating back over 1000 years. The site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage in 1992. Visitors can explore the museum housed within the former silver mine, featuring exhibits on history and geology. Guided tours of the 18th-century shafts offer an immersive experience into the mining industry's past.
I had the train tour and the museum. The tour was just in German, but was done in a majestic way. The train is obviously the focal experience of the tour, but also how the life was underground and the tools used is explained wonderfully (also without knowing the language:)). The museum is in 3 buildings, the storage with the history is the main part, and the other 2 is more about the real machines. They all have English explanations.
Marco G — Google review
I took the train/ mine option and greatly enjoyed the ride and temperature change (it was hot outside). Although the tour was in German I was able to infer as it is a very visual and interactive tour. The tour guide was really good. Hard to believe what these workers had to go through to earn a living. Free parking nearby. Great tour,
D M — Google review
An amazing experience I would highly recommend! It's rare to get to walk in the shoes and take the same mine train the miners took back in the day, deep into the depths of this mine and UNESCO World Heritage site. The rest of the museum and exhibitions are also interesting but the mine rail tour is a must!
Aaron R — Google review
Exiting tour of the mines. Good museum part, but unfortunately most of it is in German.
Søren A — Google review
Very impressive! It was for me the first time to visit a mine like this, it feels you go back in time! The groups weren't that big, so you could see a lot of the mine. It was quite cold, so wear warm clothes. The train underground was an amazing experience!
Maud L — Google review
Very deceiving for such an emblematic place. It is still a quite impressive place full of history which is nice to see. I expected more... First of all, there is no tour in English. For a UNESCO world heritage site, you will expect at least one tour in English. For the museum part, it is interesting but everything is disorganised and it is not appealing. Some parts are only in German. I hope one day, this place would be made more accessible for non-german speakers.
___ A — Google review
Recommend booking in advance for English tours.
Colin L — Google review
I recently visited the Rammelsberg Ore Mines with my husband and had an incredible experience. We took the guided tour in English, called the Röder Stollen, led by Mr. Christian Etzrodt. He was super friendly and humorous, making the entire journey interesting and engaging. I really appreciate him going out of the way to add fun to the tour. It was an amazing and adventurous experience, and I highly recommend his tour. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful (she helped us choose the appropriate tour), as was the lovely lady at the shop. Overall, it was a fantastic visit! We really enjoyed the experience. Oh, yes! Make sure to wear appropriate clothing and shoes. You would need to walk a lot and climb steep steps. Would not recommend this tour to people with claustrophobia, nyctophobia, panic disorder, breathing issues, pregnancy, etc. It is colder and dark and might be a bit slippery. P.S. I personally give bonus points for the "Stimmungsring" at the shop, haha

Glockenspiel und Figurenspiel am Marktplatz is a must-see attraction in Goslar, drawing crowds at 9:00, 12:00, 15:00, and 18:00 for its charming display of figures accompanied by music. The carillon on the treasury building's gable narrates the story of Rammelsberg mining through animated figures. For an uninterrupted view, watching from the Rathaus balcony is recommended.
(Translated by Google) The chimes and the movement of the figures are a wonderful experience for children and those who remain children. Historically, a lot is conveyed through the characters. (Translated by Google) A cool sight. It looks old, but it has only been on since 1968 at 9, 12, 3 and 6 pm. It commemorates the mines and miners in the Goslar area. Its program is quite long (6 minutes), much longer than the Prague Astronomical Clock. (Original) Jópofa látványosság. Réginek tűnik, de csak 1968-tól látható 9, 12, 15 és 18 órakor. A Goslar környéki bányáknak, a bányászoknak állít emléket. Jó hosszú a programja (6 perc), sokkal hosszabb, mint a prágai Orlójé.

(Translated by Google) The carillon is in the gable of the “treasury building” on the east side of the market square. Three doors open and a circle of figures tells the story of Rammelsberg mining from the legendary discovery by the knight Ramm to modern times. The carillon and figure circulation were donated by Preussag in 1968 on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Rammelsberg mining. It's definitely worth watching the glockenspiel.

Architectural Buildings
Rathaus Goslar, also known as the City Hall, is a stunning 15th-century Gothic building with gabled arches and Gothic windows. While it may seem simple from the outside, its interior holds a true treasure. The Huldigungsaal, or Chamber of Allegiance, features remarkable Renaissance artwork by an unknown artist. At night, the Rathaus is particularly beautiful when illuminated by light shining through its stained-glass windows.
Goslar's Marktplatz is home to the Town Hall, which has been in use since the mid-15th century. However, the 16th century is decisive, when the arcades were added to the market side. The showpiece of the town hall is the Tribute Hall, a unique jewel of late Gothic interior design that was fitted out as a council chamber between 1505 and 1520.
Koen — Google review
I took the tour at 11:30. It cost 8 euro. The guide was kind and knowledgeable. Provided the tour is only in german language it would be better to have at least some materials or information tables in English. The beautifully painted Homage room can be only seen through a plexiglass box which is not very good for a pic. I dont understand why they just didn t put some rope instead which would allow visitors to take a nice pic and still they would not step inside. Also as previous review mentioned I dont understand why they destroyed the ossuary!! Such a shame. It was shown to us on the picture. I really think it should have been left as it was. We also have ossuary in Kutna Hora and there are hundred thousands skulls and bones under Paris etc. Its just part of the history. The hall with starry ceiling was lovely and nice how every vitrage window had a story depicted on it.
Livie G — Google review

Market Square in Goslar is a charming and historic town square surrounded by well-preserved buildings, creating a folksy atmosphere. At the heart of the Old Town, the Market Fountain stands as a testament to centuries of history, with its lower bronze basin dating back to the 12th century. The square also features notable landmarks such as the Gothic town hall from the 15th century and the impressive Huldigungssaal.

It's an old market square in Goslar, surrounded by old and impressive buildings, some of which are clad in ornate slatework. There are several cafes and food outlets in the square and nearby, and I'd guess that it gets very busy at times. A good place to take a break, before moving on.

A town that has been true to the History of Germany. I has been preserved in the age old fashioned and should be visited should you wish to see how Germany centuries ago used to look. During the winter is an amazing Winter Market that is truly warm and inviting even when the weather is not. There is a mine close to Goslar that is a few centuries old that offers tours into the depths of the mountains for those brave enough to go underground. There are many shops, restaurants and hotels so plan to spend some time in this beautiful little town for a truly German experience.

Gustav Adolf Stave Church, located in the old spa resort of Hahnenklee, is a remarkable medieval-style wooden church dating back to 1908. This Nordic-style stave church was constructed from spruce trunks and boasts elaborate carvings, an impressive organ, and a unique four-octave carillon. The interior is as magnificent as its breathtaking exterior, offering visitors a peaceful and beautiful place to explore.
Really unusual to see one of these outside of Norway. Built on the Norwegian style, it's well worth a visit to admire the craftsmanship, and you won't see another unless you go to Norway. It only cost euros to get in, and that's well worth it too. Take your time inside, and soak up the atmosphere...

The Siemenshaus, one of the notable and picturesque half-timbered buildings in Goslar, is widely recognized. Built in 1693, this residence was erected by a predecessor of the prominent technology and telecommunications company. Remaining within the family for generations, except for a period between 1778 and 1916, it now serves as a museum with meeting spaces and houses the family's historical records.

Located in the historic Altstadt on the Marktplatz, Die Butterhanne is a no-frills tavern offering a wide range of traditional Saxon dishes. The old-world charm and streetside tables create a cozy atmosphere for enjoying regional specialties like Harzer wild game and homemade cakes and pies. Visitors can also savor local Gose beer brewed by Brauhaus Goslar next door.
Die Butterhanne, located in Goslar’s historic market square, is renowned for its traditional Harz region cuisine and warm hospitality. Diners can enjoy hearty dishes such as the flavorful meat roll with pickle and the rich deer meat goulash. The blueberry schnitzel offers a unique twist, and the generous desserts are perfect for sharing. Complementing the meals is a selection of quality beers, all served by friendly and attentive staff, ensuring a memorable dining experience. The restaurant’s name, “Die Butterhanne,” pays homage to a legendary figure from Goslar’s folklore. The “Butterhanne” is depicted in the intricate wood carvings of the Brusttuch, a historic building constructed between 1521 and 1526. This carving portrays a maid churning butter with one hand while mischievously lifting her skirt with the other, a gesture believed to mock the devil, symbolizing defiance and humor. Established in 1870, the Brusttuch has operated as a hotel and restaurant, offering guests a medieval ambiance enriched by its unique decor. Today, Die Butterhanne continues this tradition, providing visitors with an authentic taste of Goslar’s culinary and cultural heritage.

Amazing food and staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had the rouladen which was fantastic and so filling! Many people sitting outside in the sun but we chose to be indoors as it was quite hot in the sun for us Aussies! Lovely place and highly recommend.

Stopped in the charming German town of Goslar for a quick break on the drive back to the UK. My meal at Die Butterhanne started with a delightful bowl of Pfifferlingcremesuppe - chanterelle cream soup with fresh chanterelles and a side of baguette. A warming, earthy dish that perfectly set the tone for the journey ahead! The second course was wild boar sausages, served with hearty fried potatoes. The rich, savoury sausages paired beautifully with the crispy potatoes, making for a satisfying and memorable stop.

Lovely atmosphere but mediocre service. Right in the center. The worst part was having a piece of meat on top of my vegetarian flammkuchen which annoyed me so much. One of the waiters apologized for it but this unfortunately does not make up for it. I would not recommend this place to a vegan or vegetarian person. Besides, the options are very limited for them. It is also overpriced for the taste.

The museum features 30 captivating dioramas depicting fairy tales that appeal to visitors of all ages.
I was pleasantly surprised! The artistic work is excellent, and the English audio tour is very helpful and clear! Bring your own earphones, because they don't have them (otherwise you have to hold the audio device to your ear). You can make your own figurine, which is also very fun for kids (parties). The interactive pieces on display are great to look at and experience. Price: 4 euro P.P. Toilet: Ask the staff. The toilet is in the Goslar Museum across the Tim Museum

Nestled at the foot of the historic Rammelsberg, just outside the enchanting Harz Mountains, lies a captivating former ore mine that has become a must-visit destination. This site boasts an intriguing museum and offers guided tours through its rich mining history, which dates back to Roman times in the 3rd century and continued until 1988.
A very big and interesting museum. We went there with a bug group of 15 people without reservation or anything. We wanted to go into the Mineshaft and the Lady at the counter made it possible for us as a group even though most tours were full! Inside the mine tunnels we looked at the way the water went to power the huge waterwheels. The tout guide was very sympathetic and nice. It took around 75 minutes for the Tour and you can still look at the other exhibitions afterwards. We didn't have the time to look at everything in one go so we might come back another day to drive with the train inside the mountains. The pricing is also very fair with what you get! 10/10 recommended Definitely worth a visit when you're in Goslar!

The modest rounded mountain next to Goslar contains a former silver, lead and copper mine which was the world’s longest operating mine (1000+ years). Apart from the excellent visitor mine, it’s worth walking up to the Maltermeister Turm and further up to an observation point and hikers’ hut with great views over Goslar.

(Translated by Google) I always find mines fascinating, no matter how big they are. In this case, Rammelsberg is a huge mine steeped in history and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is a must-see when visiting the Harz Mountains. The museum offers a wealth of information about the history and technology of the mine. We booked a guided tour on the funicular railway and traveled over 500 meters into the mountain. The tour was very interesting and informative, and children were actively involved, which I thought was great. A day in the life of a miner is vividly portrayed using original machinery. I found the train ride very impressive, and you get quite a shaking. The train tour takes about an hour. There are also tours on foot, which take considerably longer. Allow plenty of time to see and experience everything. A small restaurant caters to your needs, offering a good selection of food and drinks. The café, Café Am Markt, offers a delightful selection of pastries such as the Quarkstrudel, which is filled with generous amounts of cottage cheese. The presentation of the dish resembles a soup due to its abundance of vanilla sauce. Their filter coffee is satisfactory and on par with what one would expect in a German village. The late breakfast menu features a delicious bacon eggs bagel that has received much praise. Cakes and waffles are also available and highly appealing visually.

I have put a 3 star because it was very disappointing to be charged €22,80 for 2 soups (€7,90 each), a glass of tap water and a glass of sparkling water. That meant that we got charged €7 for either the sparkling water (no bottle, just a glass) or €3,50 for each one when tap water should be free. (I have travelled to numerous countries and never been charged for tap water when eating at a restaurant). I didn't make a fuss because I was shouting my lovely German friend and because I couldn't speak German, it meant I would have had to involve her to question the bill which puts a bad taste to our day trip. So I wanted to warn people if you buy drinks, don't buy water!

We were taken to this restaurant to have the most legendary huge Windbeutel. Ambient, location is good, but two points go for - 1 the whipped cream was the cheapest tasting ready made canned whipped cream that even didn't taste like cream. Would be much cooler if you would offer real cream or at least a better one that would taste like a cream -2 the service wasn't very friendly... I had to look myself for sugar... when I asked for water next to the coffee, I was told they don't give water (when I already take coffee and windbeutel, I think it is normal to offer water next to it). The staff seemed very stressed, answered to me rather rudely and I wouldn't like to go back there.

Goslar Cathedral, a remarkable Romanesque-style church with its original stone vestibule dating back to 1822, is an attractive historical landmark. The presence of expansive glass windows allows for clear visibility inside, while its accessibility is commendable as there are no entry fees. However, the lack of English signage necessitates prior research for those desiring to learn more about this place.
A place where you can feel the breath of history... The church from the time of the Roman Empire fascinates, the large heads near it add to the surrealism. The Palace opposite heightens emotions and reminds of the greatness of Germany. The juncture of times is incredible.
Julia M — Google review
Nice that there is a big glass windows so you can see in. It doesn't cost to get close, so it's very accessible. The only issue is that the signage is not English at all. No translation anywhere...so if you really want to know about this place...do your research before! There is a toilet down the stairs right out the front, but you do have to pay to gain entry.
Emily K — Google review
Historic! The rest of the imperial cathedral of Goslar, the biggest church within all the Holy Roman Empire at that time! A thousand years ago, as Germany consisted of many single states and dispersed territories and there was still no capital, the German kings used to rule the power from a number of royal castles. Those imperial palaces are called Pfalz, and the Kaiserpfalz Goslar is one of them. Though it is supposed to be a residence of major importance, it is to consider that the ensemble is a romantic reconstruction dated in the late nineteenth century when Germany became united under the belligerent emperor William who led the empire into World War One and therefore into the abyss. However, the imperial palace of Goslar shows Medieval splendor like no other!

Nice for a quick stop. Free parking. Nice to walk over the dam. Quite a difference in height on both sides. Stiftskirche St. Georg in the Hahndorf district is a stunning late-Baroque church connected to an Augustinian monastery. The church boasts Italianate Baroque architecture and houses a remarkable Treutmann organ from the Baroque era. Surrounded by beautiful forests and farmland, the church is set within the grounds of Gut Grauhof. Visitors are advised to call and register in advance for a visit, as it may be locked at times.

Mühlengerenne is a picturesque spot and street that has become a favorite among visitors for leisurely walks and photo opportunities. The stream flowing through the medieval buildings, framed by charming flowers and timber windows, creates a delightful scene. Dating back to around 1500, this former pepper mill pit offers a glimpse into its historical significance as it once directed water to power a mill wheel. The well-preserved cultural-historical model adds to the allure of this place.
(Translated by Google) The Gerenne is a former pepper mill pit from around 1500. The age is an estimate. According to the city archives: “Here you can show how the water from the breeding was led to a mill wheel.” With the help of a slide, water from the breeding was diverted above the bridge over the wooden Gerenne and led to the mill, where it flowed from above onto the water wheel and it to generate energy" It's nice that an old cultural-historical model is preserved here. You can imagine how sophisticated energy/drive was generated back then. There were probably many mills involved in the breeding. A very beautiful corner of Goslar that takes you back a few centuries and has not been artificially changed much. Definitely worth a visit.

The Goslarer Krieger, also known as the Goslar Warrior, is a bronze sculpture created by the renowned English sculptor Henry Moore in 1973/1974. There are seven casts of this 3-meter long structure, with two of them displayed for public viewing. Originally named Fallen Warrior, it was later renamed by the artist to Goslar Warrior after being donated to the city of Goslar in 1975.
(Translated by Google) The Goslar Warrior, in German Goslar Warrior, is a bronze sculpture by the English sculptor Henry Moore. Created in 1973/1974. The Henry Moore Foundation cataloged the work under the designation LH 641. It was then called Fallen Warrior. In 1975, after the Schenning Foundation donated it to the city of Goslar, the artist renamed it Goslar Warrior. The artist chose the garden of the Imperial Palace in Goslar as the location. He received the imperial ring as a thank you. Seven casts were made of the approximately three meter long sculpture, two of which are installed in public spaces. (The second figure is in Santa Cruz de Tenerife). It stands in the park/garden behind the Palatinate and is the only eye-catcher in the rather wild area. Unfortunately a very desolate place for the work of art. It's worth a photo simply because of its rarity. Anyone who is already there should take a short detour to the lower garden. During the late Medieval period, Goslar experienced economic prosperity that attracted unwanted attention. To protect itself, the Free City implemented various defences, with one of the most crucial being the Breites Tor located in the eastern part of the city. This gate served as a barrier on the road leading from the territory controlled by the Duke of Braunschweig-Wolfenbuttel, who posed a threat to Goslar at that time.

Situated in the northeastern part of medieval Goslar, stands "das Breite Tor", a remarkable remnant of the late medieval fortifications. This grand and imposing city gate was both significant and well-fortified, serving as the main gateway to Braunschweig during times of war between Goslar and its neighboring city. The fortified structure included a double gate with accompanying barracks.
We headed over to Goslar after learning of a celebration that was going on with live entertainment. Goslar is a town in Germany's Harz Mountains. It's known for its medieval old town and half-timbered houses. Market Church St. Cosmas and Damian features 13th-century stained-glass windows. The 11th-century Imperial Palace has historic murals. South, Rammelsberg Mountain is home to silver and copper mines more than 1,000 years old. There is also a museum preserves underground waterwheels and a mine railway, which we will check to next time we visit the town. Just like Bad Hazburg the town is quite intimate, the shops and restaurants are situated in one central location, there are several very good restaurants and pubs in town, the shops are very unique and worth checking out. There is a very large and entertaining clock in the middle of town, it beats the typical "cuckoo cuckoo clock" any day. Although the architecture itself is enough of a reason to venture through even the residential area of town, there are many things to see when visiting Goslar. This is a great town with a lot to offer, you won't be disappointed you stopped in for a visit. Cheers!

The building might look small from a distance but is huge standing next to it. Especially the thickness of the walls is impressive. This building truely lets you imagine how it was living here in the middle ages. The gateway is very nice and leads to a beautiful road.

Big, massive, and impressive! In the northeast of medieval Goslar stands "das Breite Tor", an unmissable remnant of the late medieval fortifications. This "Breite Tor" was the most important and best fortified city gate of Goslar, because from here the road to Braunschweig (with which Goslar was at war in the late Middle Ages). The fortification consisted of a double gate with a barracks. Of the outer gate only the Rieslingsturm is still standing, of the inner gate the Brieger Turm and the Breite Tor remain, and on the other side of the street is the Wederhof barracks. The ensemble of "das Breite Tor" is definitely one of the most beautiful and impressive city gates from the late Middle Ages. Well worth a visit!

(Translated by Google) We found the cinema very enjoyable and I think it is a very good alternative to explaining to the children how mining actually began in the Middle Ages. The effort that went into the decoration and the first area was also very nice. However, you somehow expect a little more from 8D in the actual performance. We also found the wind to be too cold. The Marktbrunnen is a significant bronze casting from the Romanesque era and holds great historical value. It stands as Germany's largest and oldest surviving market fountain from that period. The lower bowl was likely created in the 11th century, while the upper bowl originated between 1200-1230.

Unexpectedly old. The Marktburnnen is one of the most important bronze castings from the Romanesque period, as it is the largest and oldest surviving Romanesque market fountain in Germany. The lower bowl probably dates from the 11th century, the upper bowl from 1200-1230 and both bowls were separate fountains in different squares until they were merged in 1834 to form the Martbrunnen crowned with an imperial eagle. The current eagle on the fountain is a copy, the original is in the Goslar Museum. An appropriate centerpiece for a medieval square.

(Translated by Google) The legendary market fountain rises in the middle of the market square. However, the individual components come from different eras. The lower fountain bowl is the oldest. It was created in the 12th century and is considered the largest bronze casting from the Romanesque period. The upper fountain bowl and the eagle were created independently in the 13th century. Only later were all the parts combined into a single fountain. The eagle received its crown in the course of the 18th century, giving the market fountain its current appearance. It is a piece of jewelry and a beautiful photo motif. You should stop by here when you visit. (Translated by Google) The Siemenshaus is one of the largest, most important and best-preserved late Baroque town houses in Goslar. It was built in 1692/93 by the merchant and city governor Hans Siemens. On the front door there is an ornamental wood carving of the builder's motto: ora et labora - pray and work. The building is very impressive. It impressively conveys the "multifunctional" character of the house, which was typical of the time: it was not just a residence, but also provided space for the family's economic activities. The Dälentor and the paved passage made it possible to enter by cart, and the multi-story attic and extensions offered plenty of storage capacity. The brewery is a monument to Goslar's economic history: in the 17th century, over 380 houses had the right to brew beer and bring it to market. History according to Wikipedia: The Siemens family, first mentioned in documents in 1384, rose from farmers and respected master craftsmen who held leading positions in Goslar guilds to merchants, estate tenants and educated citizens at the beginning of the 17th century and provided the Free Imperial City with four mayors. A branch founded the global company Siemens in 1847. The Siemenshaus was not owned by the family from 1778 to 1916, but was then bought back by his children on the occasion of Werner von Siemens' 100th birthday to serve as the family home for conferences and gatherings and as a collection point for a family archive with documents and pictures and books. It is still owned by a family foundation today. A visit is probably possible upon request or as part of a group tour. When you visit here you should at least take a look to get an impression of the beautiful, large building.

(Translated by Google) The married couple “Man with a Stick and Woman with an Umbrella” lived separately for a few years. The handsome man has been standing on the city wall since 1977, and in 1980 his wife also wanted to go public. The wonderfully thick and round figures of the Colombian artist Fernando Botero are beautiful in the aesthetic sense because they have dignity, charisma, humor and, above all, are human, like all his works. Botero was a Colombian painter and sculptor who became internationally known for his very distinctive style known as “boterismo”. Botero often visualized modern life in Latin America. His portraits depict people with exaggerated, oversized body proportions. A large part of his work can be understood as political and social criticism, although he denies satirical intentions. The artist was born in 1932 in the Colombian city of Medellín. At the beginning of his career, Botero traveled a lot. He first moved to the capital Bogotá and then lived in several European cities. The influence of masterpieces he saw in Barcelona, Madrid, Florence and Paris has been evident in his work since the 1960s. Botero died in 2023 at the age of 91. Interesting and varied exhibits, but hardly any explanations about them. Therefore one star less. Nevertheless, a tip for railway fans. The museum is located in the oldest surviving train station in Germany, and there are some historic wagons and railway systems outside.

Although I'm not a fan of art, I must admit that the Stubengalerie is a place worth visiting. The person who recently guided me through the gallery was extremely kind and likeable. It's important to note that the Stubengalerie has an inviting atmosphere. I will definitely return in the future.
(Translated by Google) The Stubengalerie has ceased operations and is now permanently closed, so that a rating is only possible retrospectively. I'm giving it five stars posthumously, so to speak, because I enjoyed visiting the exhibitions. The popularity of the gallery was particularly evident in the large number of guests during the openings, which always offered an opportunity to meet friends and discuss the individual works in the current exhibition. Those interested can still purchase art in the shop. There is something for everyone. The contact details can be seen on the windows.

(Translated by Google) Wonderful and lovingly run gallery in a 300-year-old house in the middle of Goslar's old town. Unfortunately, you stop after more than 50 years because you can't find any employees and/or successors. It's a shame, because it seems to be the only gallery in the area. Give the Stubengalerie a nice farewell, go there, buy some art... I did that today. (Original) Wunderbare und liebevoll geführte Galerie in über 300 Jahre alten Haus mitten in Goslars Altstadt. Burg Vienenburg is an ancient ring castle that serves as a remarkable historical landmark. Its BurgSaal is highly suitable for various celebrations, offering a picturesque view from the tower and a cozy courtyard with a coffee shop. The owners are known for their kindness and hospitality, while any necessary service staff can be hired externally. This impressive castle provides visitors with an authentic experience of the past and stands as a testament to the rich history of the region.
A unique castle that also houses apartments and special events. Quiet and peaceful as I came across no other visitors. Nice architecture and spectacular views of Vienenburg from the tower. The tower costs 1 euro and worth every cent.

(Translated by Google) The site was recently a construction site. An entrance under part of the building leads into the inner courtyard with a tower made of sandstone. If the weather is good, you can climb the tower on Saturdays and Sundays. An inspection is possible whenever the flag can be seen on the tower. The parts/outbuildings of the castle 🏰 are briefly presented on information boards. There is also a cafe on site that is not open daily. The building also includes some private apartments. Half-timbered houses and a beautiful old ⛪ form the neighborhood. It's worth taking a short detour there, especially since Vienenburg and Wöltingerode have a lot to offer - including, but not only, wonderful landscapes. Was my review helpful? Then I would be happy about a like. 🙂

(Translated by Google) This statue has something moving in my opinion. She seems to be addressing me formally. I think the workmanship and style are extremely professional and I cannot judge whether this location is good or less good for the statue. The Imperial Palace with a distance within easy reach sucks away many of the potential admirers. But okay, I looked at everything calmly. (Translated by Google) Beautiful towering statue at the Imperial Palace. In 1955 the artist Prof. Fritz Theilmann created something called “Griff in die Freiheit”. The work of art was commissioned by the Association of Returnees, Prisoners of War and Missing Persons in Germany. The figure on the stone base overcomes the barbed wire fence of a prison camp and thus became a symbol of the former German prisoners of war. Together with the plaques and the bell, this is a memorial to prisoners of war and expulsion after the Second World War. plaque next to the bell tower; Inscription: I'm calling the German prisoners I call home - freedom! This is what the inscription and daily call of the bell in the tower remind us of. On September 10, 1961, the bell and loyalty lists found their federal consecration site in the Imperial Palace in Goslar, to announce to posterity the gratitude of a suffering generation for the loyalty of their comrades and the love of their fatherland, to admonish the living to renounce any use of violence, to the law and to serve human dignity and thus maintain peace in freedom. It's good that such times are remembered with such statues. It is well maintained, beautifully crafted and a nice photo opportunity.

Best ever
Friedrich W — Google review
It's a very nice, mostly clean playground with a slide, a climbing frame, swings, a sandpit, a table tennis table made of stone, trees and a soccer goal. The presence of adults is mandatory since the playground is surrounded by two busy streets and a big crossroad next to it. For that reason five stars can't be given here. The small fence seems to be not a sufficient barrier and could be climbed over easily.
