If you find yourself wandering through the charming village of Salers, make sure to stop by La Diligence. In the middle of the old Salers, La Diligence is a very welcoming place. The food was amazing as was the kindness of the waitress. We really enjoyed our lunch! Don't forget to book your table in advance!

Best crêpes in Salers! We absolutely loved it, merci beaucoup.
Peter L — Google review
I honestly feel bad writing this review, because the staff was very nice and welcoming. Also the aperitif and house red were very nice. However, the food: In a nutshell, I paid 55 Euros for 2 menus (entree, main, dessert) and 25cl of wine. If I paid half of that price I would have still been disappointed, but I would have gotten over it. My rating is based on my experience in France as a whole. I have been travelling in this country for almost 3 weeks, from Lille to Champagne, from Loire valley to Bordeaux, from Rhone valley to Lyon. We had some amazing meals at very reasonable prices. This was one of the most expensive meals and by far the worst of them all. The entree I could have made at home, the meat was tastless, the potato sides were greasy, and the dessert was store bought ice cream (although they declared it.. oddly). This was truely but unfortunately one of the worst meals I had from memory. I'm sorry to all the lovely staff, but the food we ate was not worth more than one star.
Mou T — Google review
It's ok, but I wouldn't go back. The food was very greasy and in my opinion over priced, especially since there are better quality and priced restaurants nearby.

Great food. Kind hosts. Dogs of all sorts allowed and cats too. That makes for a bit of a stir at times

Housed in a characterful building near Place Tyssandier d'Escous, this eatery boasts a lovely terrace perfect for enjoying meals on sunny days. Excellent restaurant with very friendly staff members who make your dining experience even more enjoyable. I had the meat and cheese salad to start which was delicious and their local steak and potato for main course. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained.

(Translated by Google) This Saturday, September 6, 2025, lunch on the terrace. The setting is pleasant and the dishes are generous and very well cooked. The products are local and the cooking is homemade for the majority of the dishes. Small downside: the glass of wine is offered at the end of the meal, the apologies from the waitress and a non-billing. I recommend this establishment. Nestled in the heart of a charming village, Chez la préfète stands out as the sole dining option available on December 7, 2024. This delightful restaurant is housed in an enchanting old building that adds to its warm ambiance. Guests can indulge in local specialties like farmhouse soup, stuffed cabbage, and truffade—all at wallet-friendly prices. Even when bustling with patrons, the attentive staff ensures that everyone feels welcomed and well taken care of.
Good food and generous portion size, on a beautiful location. It was quite busy but that did not translate to unacceptable wait times.
Philip E — Google review
Although the restaurant was full, the service was fast and impeccable. The use of fresh local produce is definitely very much appreciated.
Philip D — Google review
Whereas the food looked fine, it was not hot enough. Aligot was without any particular flavour and not ‘stretchy enough’. We also ordered mohito and it tasted like there was barely any alcohol. And lastly.. I recommend to check the bill carefully - when we paid they charged us €20 more - €84 instead of €64. Luckily we spotted this and instead of apologising they said ‘ca arrive souvent’ …

(Translated by Google) Very disappointed with this experience. The staff wasn't particularly friendly, and the menu is really basic, with very little choice. The portion served was small, filled mostly with salad to give the illusion of a hearty meal. Flies invited themselves onto my plate, which clearly spoiled my appetite. The aligot had no taste, which is frankly a shame. While the service is fast, you can tell it's mainly designed for passing tourists, with no concern for quality. I do not recommend it.

Nestled in a serene setting, Logis Hôtel Restaurant & Spa Les Remparts offers a delightful escape with its cozy accommodations and complimentary Wi-Fi. Just a short stroll from the Esplanade de Barrouze, this charming family-run hotel features 15 well-appointed rooms that promise comfort and tranquility. Guests can indulge in exquisite dining at the on-site restaurant, which boasts picturesque views of the iconic Salers cows grazing nearby.
I was booked into this hotel by a wonderful lady i discovered after my original booking at le Belfroi turned out to be an awful place. Les Ramparts was truly wonderful, had a great stay and was looked after by 2 lovely ladies at mealtimes. The hotel is in a perfect quiet location with great views over the hills and valleys. The interior is great and spotlessly clean and the rooms soundproof. All dining was excellent. Les Ramparts is what other hotels should aspire to achieve. Unfortunately I had to leave a day early so didn't get the chance to say a big thank you to all the staff who were wonderful.

(Translated by Google) Very well-located hotel with a magnificent view to the sound of cowbells in the valley below. Small park nearby for walking the dogs. Spacious, very clean room with comfortable bed. Large bathroom with walk-in shower. (A kettle would be a nice touch.) Very friendly staff; dogs are welcome, even in the restaurant, which is appreciated. Varied breakfast with eggs, cold cuts, fruit, and pastries. For dinner, for my part, the crayfish starter had far too much crème fraîche and lacked flavor, and unfortunately, I ended up with a slab of Salers cheese. Otherwise, the homemade iced nougat was excellent. As for the spa, I would like to sincerely thank Ms. Sabrina Fageol, who is very professional and, with her medical knowledge, her head massage is fabulous. Very dedicated, her massages are extremely relaxing. With her charm and calm, the rest and change of scenery were complete. I highly recommend.

The restaurant is good, with good value for money, I would say one of the best in Salers. The service is great and the team is really super friendly. Finally, last but not least, the SPA which is a real moment of relaxation. It is not big but it is pleasant. My wife received a massage by Mrs. Flageol, very good. (Original) Très bon hotel à SALERS. Located at the entrance of Salers, this charming eatery serves high-quality meat dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Guests rave about the delicious offerings from starters to desserts, although some have noted that portions can be on the smaller side—particularly when it comes to their Aligot served with sausage.
Had always wanted to try pounti so glad to see it in this restaurant. Well in the end, pounti isn't my favourite dish from this région but I'm glad to have tried a nice version of it in this place. Service was relatively efficient and friendly. The other dishes we ordered were also decent.

(Translated by Google) It's simple: we enjoyed the food, the staff, and the service so much that we came back to eat there the next day. 😇 A special mention for dessert: the flourless chocolate cake with its delicate chocolate coulis, a delicious and masterful delight, the likes of which are rarely tasted anywhere else! We tasted, appreciated, and devoured: - The juicy pork sausage and aligot, to die for; - The Salers rib-eye steak, cooked to a perfect rare, with its signature branding and a touch of salt that enhances the quality of the meat without altering its natural flavor; - The fish quenelle and its warm, delicious sauce. Not to mention the starters, fries, and salads, also impeccably prepared, for maximum enjoyment, without a hint of regret (even if you've overeaten). All in an authentic setting and with a warm welcome, what more could you ask for? 😌 A future little haven for our vacation in this beautiful region! See you soon, with pleasure and delicious food, Lucie and Gilles.

Stayed for 3 nights with my bicycle club. Lovely, very helpful staff, ready to give local advice. (The only point that might be improved is to have wholegrain bread on the breakfast menu, especially when it's a sports team in town!) However, we had excellent dinners and service on our three nights.

French restaurant
L'Evasion is a popular dining spot in Salers, offering a fine dining experience with a three-course meal for just over 20 Euros. The restaurant is known for its great food and friendly staff. While some visitors found the Jambon to be a little dry and the dessert not quite up to Michelin restaurant standards, others raved about the outstanding entrees and mains. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and provides a fair price considering Salers' touristy atmosphere.
Great locally sourced food and friendly staff. Best restaurant we visited in Salers.

Great food as a whole. Fine dining 3 course meal experience for a little more than 20 Euros. If you visit Salers you must try this place out! Remember to make a booking because it's very popular. Only small issue was with the Jambon a little dry and the dessert not quite what I expected from a Michelin restaurant. Staff was very nice and welcoming. Entree and main absolutely outstanding

I don't even know where to start. If you are searching for an expensive fast food restaurant, this is just the place to go. First of all, the drinks are served in plastic cups. Wine comes from a paper box. There are only 3 different dishes on the menu, and they are served in paper boxes with wooden cutlery. All the furniture is plastic, as cheap as it can get. The bread comes dry and stone hard without any butter or dips. There is not even pepper and salt on the table. The music is straight up from a freshman high school party. Loud and trashy. The menu is overall way overpriced for what you get. From the reviews, we were expecting quite a nice place to eat, but when we got there we wanted to leave asap.

Very friendly staff, delicious food and a fair price (considering Salers is flooded by tourists). I normally don't tip, but in case I did because it was exceptional. Great place to bring your kids too btw

Restaurant
The restaurant Le P'tit Comptoir offers exceptional cuisine and high-quality products. The intimate and delightful rear terrace adds to the overall dining experience. Although there were a few service errors, such as the incorrect cooking method for certain meats or confusion regarding when to leave after having a menu but not yet dessert, these issues were minor. Overall, this restaurant is deserving of close to five stars, with potential for improvement in terms of consistency and reducing any feeling of confinement.
Friendly staff. Amazing food. For amazing prices

(Translated by Google) Seriously, it's really good. We chose a €37 set menu: starter, main course, and dessert: Charcuterie board. Sliced just right. Steak steak with aligot in blue cheese sauce. Very tender Salers meat, cooked to perfection. Excellent blueberry tart. As a bonus, our four-legged friends are welcome. And so are the ANCV (National Association of Veterinary Physicians).
