LoLo American Kitchen and Craft Bar is a trendy spot in Stillwater, MN that offers a diverse menu of seasonal New American small plates and craft cocktails. The open kitchen allows guests to witness the culinary action while enjoying gourmet burgers, tacos, Asian-inspired rice bowls, and flavor-packed small plates. The restaurant's contemporary ambiance is complemented by indoor and patio seating options.
Lovely place for a summer evening meal. We ordered the Spring Cavatelli, the Broccolini with shallots and Brie and the Berry Salada. We mixed the broccolini with the Cavatelli and the result was great! More flavor combined with nice texture. The dessert was delicious: warm bundt cake with caramel butter sauce and sea salt ice cream. Francis took very good care of us. Thanks! We will be back!

We had a great experience at Lolo! I ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, which was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The restaurant was quite crowded when we went, which shows how popular it is with both locals and visitors. Despite the busy atmosphere, the service was friendly and efficient. Definitely a spot worth visiting in Stillwater!
Anita S — Google review
LoLo has upscale delicious foods without the hefty price tag, and amazing and diverse specialty cocktail menu, great location on main street, and some awesome staff here. I had the "Jamz" smash burger with a side of chips and dip. The burger was delightful. The chip and dip was a great side, and some of the best dip I've had. I can't remember the name of the cocktail, but it was wonderful.
B A — Google review
The food was pretty good! We went at noon on a Saturday so we ordered from the lunch menu. One vegetarian in our party; not a lot of options for her (sweet potato tacos). Lots of gluten free options, highly recommend the rosemary fries to share. Fish tacos were good but could have used more seasoning or flavor. Most of the punch came from the slaw. Great vibes. Staff was friendly.

We had a nice tall table near the bar. Service was prompt, efficient, and friendly. Menu suggestions were accurate. Food came up quickly. We closed the place at 9:30 pm

I go out of my way when I am visiting in St Paul to get to Stillwater and go to Lolo's. Food is fresh and delicious. I love everything I have ever had. My new favorites are the sticky rice bowls.
Sandy S — Google review
This place was really challenging to get into on a Saturday, particularly the back outside area. Eventually though we got a table and had a delightful server who was also manning part of the bar. I think they were down a person this day so the service wasn’t quite spot on. Our food and drinks were fantastic. I had a sort of whisky sour drink and I appreciated how well crafted it was as well as the glass and appearance. We had 3 of the rice bowls and all were great! The seafood curry bowl convinced my 10 yr old that she likes shrimp! The fries were also absolutely perfect.
Jennie S — Google review
My finance and I had an outstanding dinner experience at LoLo. Think of casual dinner items prepared extremely well…. We thoroughly enjoyed the $3 tuna tasters (why doesn’t every restaurant do this), the broccolini (very indulgent), the JAM double smash burger, and the jerk chicken bowl. Our cocktails were fantastic as well. New favorite Stillwater restaurant!

Leo's Grill & Malt Shop is a family-friendly diner with a retro 50s style located on Main Street Stillwater. The owner, Cory Buettner, has made sure to maintain the restaurant's nostalgic atmosphere. Their popular dishes include old-style burgers, fries, and malts. The large outdoor patio is dog-friendly and shaded, making it a perfect spot to enjoy classic burgers and malts. Additionally, they offer vegetarian and vegan options.
Stopped here long Stillwater's main street on our way to Wisconsin, & it was fantastic! We got there just after 5pm on Friday & there was no wait so we beat the line of people that started about 45 minutes later. Service was SUPER friendly & extremely efficient. My kids loved asking the server questions & the server had plenty to share of about the restaurant's features. The kid's menu was perfect for the kids, & they loved doing the "can you find" list to hunt down fun items displayed in the restaurant too. Cheese curds, bacon cheddar burger, waffle fries with seasoned sour cream, Oreo malt, sweet potato tots, crinkle fries, hot dog, mini corn dogs... All tasted great & served very quickly. Will definitely come back again & we will be willing to wait in line when we come back next time!

Leo's first time here, first impressions, clean for the most part, the restroom is unisex and it's only 1. but there's a bench by the restroom for you to wait on soo that's good. anyway take a step back into an eara that's long gone old signs old style booths, old style feels, it's one cozy little joint. I ordered the deluxe burger with french fries and a cherry coke, I think the cherry coke is made with grenadine hard to tell but it's tasty, the burger was very delicious and messy, the Patty's were done perfectly, The french fries had a nice crisp to them not all floppy. the over all service was pretty good the waitress was on top of her game same with the cooks, a definite must stop when in downtown Stillwater, will return in the future for ice cream review

Nice 50's style burger joint. The place was full, but the service was friendly and efficient. We split a double cheeseburger with grilled onions and house made (I think) thick potato chips, and a malt. They served the food split and in 2 baskets, which I always appreciate. The burger was juicy, and delicious, the chips nice and crunchy, and the malt was good and malty, you also get the extra shake left in the mixing tumbler 😉. I would recommend it for a delicious quick meal to anyone. It's pretty much in the center of town, making it very accessible as you stroll the streets of Stillwater.
Gerald E — Google review
One bite into this burger and I knew ❤️ it was delicious! I really loved the pickles and the chipotle sauce. You can dine in or outside (just go to the back of the building) you can also go thru their walk-up window and order ice cream + malts 🍦 All the burgers come with chips but the basket burger and hotdogs come with fries. I think this is a better deal and gets you full! 🤭

Best Tuna melt and Egg salad sandwich I've had. Excellent food and wait staff. Definitely would revisit this place if I came back.

We came in five minutes before closing to get some shakes and were warmly welcomed. Our waiter was super animated and fun, and the shakes/malts were all delicious!

Amazing service! Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be going again next time I'm in the area!!

The food here is reasonably priced and quite tasty! I had an egg salad sandwich with kettle chips. The kettle chips were crispy and delicious. The restaurant was crowded. I don't like that it feels cramped. It is quite small with lots of seating. It was also confusing with how to order takeout when I came in. However, service was prompt, and I appreciate that the food was made so quickly. It was also tasty!

Bar
Brick & Bourbon is a popular late-night spot in Stillwater, offering a wide range of American cuisine, cocktails, and draft brews in a stylish and spacious setting. One of its highlights is the intimate rooftop patio that provides a great view of the St. Croix River. The restaurant also features happy hour specials and weekend brunch with a bloody Mary bar.
They make a great burger! We got and shared a "three wisemen" and "the reaper" both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The reaper was spicy but not crazy hot. I should also say we ate a bunch of our fries before we could get focused, so they are missing from our photos.
John W — Google review
The atmosphere and staff are great here, but my sandwich fell a little short for me. Staff were super accommodating and made sure we were well taken care of; good people would bring me back for sure. We were able to get an upstairs patios spot, which had a great vibe despite the heat outside (plus our waters stayed refilled). I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. There was plenty of chicken, but I think the breast meat would've been better butterflied to prevent as much drying out. The run was good, but didn't have the Nashville hot I was looking for. I did ask for pickles and fresh onions which elevated the flavor for me. If the meat wasn't so thick I think this could've really done more for me. My partner had the salmon plate, but for outside lunch I think a sandwich is a better way to go. I did order the pistachio beer on draft and highly recommend that. I would go back. We also shared a spinach artichoke dip and I thought that was good. You can join the wait-list online for dine in, but the patio is walk in only.
Aaron P — Google review
The first time we went there, it was great. We went for dinner. The server was fantastic and food was delicious. However, this time it kinda sucked! We went for lunch and got seated within ten minutes. When we were seated, it was FREEZING in there. I went to the hostess, who happened to be the Manager Amy and asked to move tables because we were so cold. I had found a table away from the air, and it was still dirty from the previous party. Her reply was a very curt “No. (long pause) we have another table with a reservation.” No smile. No customer service. Really rude. Well, I was talking to my family who go there often and found out that brick and bourbon doesn’t take reservations till dinner. Not sure what that was all about. Even our server wasn’t very hospitable. Got our drinks at 1:15, didn’t get our order taken till 1:28. Food arrived at 1:50. Food was delicious. However, Bourbon burger was dry compared to the evening two weeks ago. We enjoyed the food. Establishment was cold, manager even colder.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30 PM and had a great experience. Despite the weekend rush, we were seated right away in the mezzanine, which was a cozy spot with a good view of the bustling restaurant below. The staff was actively working to rearrange tables and accommodate groups, showing clear attention to keeping everything running smoothly. For lunch, we ordered the Plain Jane and The Next Day. The Plain Jane was requested completely plain, and while it still arrived with toppings on the side of the plate, the server was happy to bring out an extra plate to move them off. The burger was well-done and cooked exactly as requested—simple, satisfying, and just what we were hoping for. The real standout was The Next Day burger. Though the menu described the egg as over easy, it was served more over medium—but the flavors more than made up for the change. The burger was incredibly layered and well thought-out. The mayo, with its subtle pepper kick, gave the sandwich a breakfast feel and added some unexpected spice. It was greasy in a good way, loaded with flavor, and very filling. The hashbrowns weren’t super crispy, but soaked up the flavors perfectly. The bacon was just right, neither too crisp nor too chewy. We could only finish half, but it was more than satisfying. Overall, Brick & Bourbon offers bold flavors, attentive service, and a unique twist on the usual burger experience. We’ll definitely be back! Note: we ordered the Plain Jane and Bourbon burger on our previous visit.
Libdottie — Google review
Brick and Bourbon has a great atmosphere and solid service, but for us the food didn’t quite live up to the hype. The appetizer ended up being the highlight of the meal, while the rest felt a bit overrated for the price point. It’s definitely a nice spot to grab drinks or hang out, but if you’re going mainly for the food, you might leave wishing it delivered a little more.
Katie H — Google review
Adventurous food! We went on a Friday evening and nabbed some seats at the bar. Great staff, friendly! We got the PB & Jay and also the Mushroom burger-def chose garlic parm fries too. I had to check the menu bc I thought the Pb was supposed to have cheese and it was-yet mine was missing it. Bummer. Would have made it next level delish! Adventurous and unique nonetheless! It was very busy and some of the clientele seemed to think they owned the place. I find that the entitlement of regulars or locals to ruin the atmosphere not enhance it. When you dine out, be mindful that others are there to enjoy themselves as well.
Elena — Google review
This place is in Stillwater Main, a very convenient location. We sat on the rooftop. At first, we thought the restaurant must be amazing with all these reviews, but keep in mind that when alcohol is involved, the good reviews could be more about the drinks than the food. We tried the food, and it was better than expected after seeing how the kitchen looked. The place itself seemed a little dirty and disorganized. The staff was friendly-ish, they looked busy, so it was easier if you didn’t ask many questions. We ordered a burger, wontons, and wings. Let’s start with the wontons, which were my favorite. The sauce and flavor combination was delicious. The wings were also very good, and I loved the BBQ sauce because it wasn’t too strong. The burger, however, wasn’t great. The cheese completely overpowered the flavor of the meat. No sauce, three random pickles, a little caramelized onion, and the so-called “thick bacon,” which just looked like regular bacon to me. I’ll probably try it again, but the place really needs to be cleaned, especially since you can see the kitchen from the rooftop stairs. I don’t think the reviews are accurate in this case. 3 stars because of the wings and wantons.

Came here with the fam after visiting an open house. This place has some quality foods and a great location. Got the walleye sandwich and was not surprised by how good it was. Although was a little disappointed when my sister broke the pull tab machine and cut our little gambling spree short. 9.6/10

Restaurant
Phil's Tara Hideaway is a historic log cabin in Stillwater, MN, suspected of being involved in bootlegging and gangster activities. In 1997, it was transformed into a restaurant by Phil Barbatsis, offering a blend of traditional Greek-Mediterranean cuisine with contemporary dining experience. The cozy and warm setting provides an amazing vibe for hanging out with friends. The menu features high-quality local and seasonal ingredients.
My husband and I went for dinner and we had an awesome experience. He ordered a seasonal beer and I got a glass of wine to go with my entree. We got the brussel sprouts for appetizer and the cured bacon was wonderful. He ordered the Tara steak with mushrooms and smashed potatoes which were delicious. I got the duck breast entree and it was so good! We also shared the baklava for dessert which was warm and super nutty. The service was awesome and we left happy. It was a nice treat for us since we had a gift certificate and we don't get out much. We had a great time.
Amanda J — Google review
The food options were very unique and a pleasant change from the typical bar/ restaurant in the Midwest area. The drinks were well balanced, and the food had so much flavor. I will be back!
Preston W — Google review
I really like the food here! It is very unique for the area and the portions are large. Cheese curds were still slightly squeaky and the veggies were fresh! The chicken was moist and not dry at all.
Grace — Google review
We visited Phil's Tara Hideaway after a day of walking along the St. Croix River in Stillwater. It has a charming vibe and pretty healthy food. We had some bread and butter and a Greek salad. For entrees we both had Walleye (one pan seared and one hazelnut crusted). We had good service and a good experience.
Brian R — Google review
French fries were average, pan-fried walleye was good, but not great. The real concern was how noisy it was in there. Almost impossible to have a real conversation with anyone not sitting directly next to me.
Mary H — Google review
Had prime rib it was wonderful! I went there for the ribeye cause I usually have that and it’s always wonderful, but prime rib is the special. Chrissy is awesome! Always welcoming.
Becky W — Google review
We had a great server, an excellent bread pudding dessert and very good fries. The seating is cramped and gets loud when it's full and our entrees were all fair but nothing great.
Pat G — Google review
We tried this out tonight. Interesting very little (intimate and loud?) place. It is right off the main highway via an access road and looks like a little log cabin. I would classify the food and drinks like other supper club restaurants in the MN and WI area. Good standard taste but not top tier. I had the pork loin which was squishy, bony, and fatty. My wife had a scallop and seafood pasta. My mashed potatoes were very good. At 7:15 they were out of asparagus and baked potato already. It is very loud and the tables are packed close together. Prices are reasonable and service was a bit slow but friendly.

Diner
Oasis Cafe is a bustling restaurant located just off Main Street in Stillwater, offering classic American comfort foods and all-day breakfast in a cozy diner setting. The venue exudes a homely atmosphere with its eclectic mix of mugs and plates, while the friendly staff adds to the welcoming vibe. Despite weekend crowds, the efficient service ensures that patrons are not rushed. Situated near the St Croix river, this family-owned establishment features a full-service bar and an outdoor patio.
We enjoy the Stillwater area and usually eat at the restaurants downtown or by the river, but we found this little cafe a little bit further down 95 and we're so glad we did! Fast friendly service with really good food. We liked the old style cafe feel in the one room and got to choose to sit in the middle room with the great views of the beautiful area outside of the restaurant. It's located right across the street from the river. We'll definitely be back to try more food on our next trip in the area. *Update, we already came back and it was just as great as the first time!*
Cody T — Google review
We have driven by this restaurant hundreds of times and had to try it. The service was not great but there was a stand out; the burger, they grind it themselves using brisket and chuck (I would add sirloin) then they add bacon and chunks of butter to elevate flavor! Really good!
Dean T — Google review
The most classic diner. I absolutely love this place! I’ve been coming here nearly my whole life. I visited for the first time in years yesterday and every bit was just as I remembered. Welcoming and kind staff, coffee cups that never run empty, delicious food, and a happy crowd! They’ve got all the classics done so well, love the pancakes and biscuits and gravy. But what makes this place so memorable to many of us is the manager/owner, trading jokes and stories, working so hard alongside his staff, bringing coffee to those waiting for tables. A special person at a special place, and a special fixture in the Stillwater community! 5 stars!
Michelle T — Google review
Incredible well-known spot off hwy 95 with amazing breakfast options. The waffles, french toast, biscuits and gravy, and breakfast sandwich were all incredible. The atmosphere is welcoming, cozy, and snug as it should be. Bring your friends and your appetite! Don't be surprised if there is a wait but they do a great job getting everyone timely seated.

Zeke is outstanding, pleasant and friendly. He also pays attention to details and his smile 😊 lights up a room. Before I could ask for extra napkins, there he was with a few! Way to go Z. You are an epitome of great customer service I had the MN melt with fries!! 😋

We are in line. They yelled at me. Told me to go to the host stand. I did. They yelled at me (a non white all white staff) and told me, no yelled, to go see the host stand outside. NO HOST WAS OUTSIDE. We stood and waited, searching for said host and said host stand (that apparently is NOT the host stand… that says host stand…). Then a WHITE couple walks inside, and they are greeted with a smile and sat right away… after I was just yelled at for being inside to put my name on the wait list. Then the host finally appeared. I told her what happened and she said “we’re busy”…. Does not excuse me being told to go inside to the host stand, me going inside the host stand, being yelled at that I’m not allowed inside the restaurant and need to stand outside, then a white couple walks inside and is promptly greeted (not told to go outside) and sat. I’m so confused and tired so tired of micro aggressions. I guess this is why only white people are working and sitting in this restaurant as I type my review looking in through the window because I was told to wait outside as I see numerous white people walk through the door and be seated within a minute. Non-white or mixed people or white people with children of color BEWARE!!!!! Edit: Upper my rating by one star because our server was great!! However, I stand by that the blond host needs an attitude adjustment. She should shadow him for as long as it takes, until she learns customer service skills. The hosts at the restaurant I work as a server at would never never throw out that racism and micro aggressions. She NEEDS training, stat! - from a HR customer and employee rights worker who also works part time as a server lots of things were wrong with her conduct and lack of professionalism.
Melanie O — Google review
Best reuben sandwich I ever had!! And I admit I am picky. Perfectly toasted on the outside, but still soft on the inside. The perfect amount of sauerkraut and thousand island, all melty with the cheese. I probably made the server uncomfortable with how much I commented on this sandwich. 🤣 The fries were amazing too. Perfectly coated and crunchy with a nice tender potato center. I dipped them in their house made ranch dressing. I ate way more than usual. Had to be rolled out on a cart...jk Bring a friend so you have someone to share your joy with.

New American restaurant
Wine bar
Wine store
Nestled in an unassuming exterior, Domaćin Restaurant & Wine Bar is a hidden gem renowned for its extensive wine selection and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. The intimate spot offers a diverse menu featuring charcuterie and cheese boards, scratch-made soups, fresh salads, and hearty entrees that pair impeccably with the multi-region wine list. Guests can indulge in small plates, entrees, desserts, and a variety of cheeses.
How many more of these gems are there in Stillwater? So many options for great food and drinks! A friend recommended Domacin to us because we love wine and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. There is a strong viticulture theme obviously but besides the outstanding wines by the glass you notice the decor with many large format bottles on display and also the stemware they serve wine in is beautiful and top quality. The menu is a little small for entrees but the duck I had was one of the best duck I've ever tasted. The meat and cheese board was also delicious and you get a lot of food. Can't wait to return in warm weather and sit on their patio. May 2024: Well, I learned tonight that they change the menu. So the delicious duck I had last time was totally different tonight. I was unhappy with it. Still love the restaurant, the wine decor, the patio, and great service.

Came in for dinner a few weeks ago and had a great experience. Our server was super friendly, helpful, and attentive. The scallops were perfectly seared, the duck breast was full of flavor, and the capellini was solid. I would also recommend the panna cotta for dessert.

I could not have been more elated to celebrate my birthday at this fabulous five-star venue! Owner Aleks was beyond gracious in sharing a seat, generous time, and a fabulous bottle of bubbles with our dinner party. Server Savannah was delightful and on point with stellar service. The charcuterie and French Billecart Salmon champagne were delectable starters; and the halibut and beef tenderloin paired perfectly with Nappa Valley's Stags Leap District Pine Ridge wine...just simply divine! I aspire to be a returning patron for this great one!

We stopped here on a whim and couldn’t have been more impressed! Literally one of the best shrimp and grits i have ever had in my entire life! We have had dinner at Domacin many many many times, too many count. We have also had our large company party there at least 12 times. Every single time the experience has been phenomenal. Great professional staff, delicious food, great wine selection and wonderful ambience. Couldn’t be better and now they have a new space connected to the restaurant and the wine shop. A beautiful lounge bar experience where you can taste unique wines get small bites and relax with friends. I always highly recommend this restaurant.

Very relaxing place to explore some wine and food. We had only done apps and wine 🍷 until recently. Dinner did not disappoint. We were celebrating 🍾 a birthday 🎂 so we were a little excessive. Ordered a cheese board and a bottle of Tempranillo 🍷 to start. Then, eased into a wild rice duck soup. Then, had salmon for the main course on a bed of sweet potatoes. Closed with a little chocolate babycakr with vanilla gelato and some dessert wine 🍷. I'm sure we will be back again and will share more!
Brian R — Google review
What an amazing find! We decided to have a staycation from the west metro and found this place after not being able to find a proper steak restaurant anywhere in Stillwater. It was a concession that turned into an incredible find. We had the sea bass and the fillet. The quality, seasoning and level of prep rivaled many of the nicest restaurants in the twin cities. When we come back to visit, we’re coming back here! Wine selection definitely elevated and some great options to choose from; however, the restaurant at the Crosby was this x100.

The restaurant offers an industrial-chic ambiance, with tall windows that let in natural light and showcase the historic charm of the city. The menu features hunter-and-gatherer cuisine, and there's also a happy hour to enjoy. Feller is known for its craft cocktails, wine selection, and killer appetizers.
It doesn’t get better than this. I love that the menu is fresh every visit, yet keeps staples such as Truffle Fries and Feller. I had the tastiest amaretto sour, the pot stickers were DIVINE. Always love the truffle fries and any cheese based pasta they offer. The ramen was ALSO very good! We had the Zeppole for dessert and it was very tasty. Service was fantastic!! Riley was very sweet and attentive.

Extremely unique atmosphere with all the limestone and cave like feel. Food and drinks were terrific, our server was very good, but the bar took forever and a day to prepare our drinks and the restaurant was at less than half capacity. Highly recommend getting the corner booth in the bar area for great views of main street

My husband and I came for dinner, wanted to try something new. We are new to Saint Paul. A friend from work recommended this place. Nice place, unfortunately didn’t get any pictures of the food. I got the pepper pasta and my husband got the burger. They were both really good. I can’t remember what our drinks were but they were well crafted and balanced. Our sever was a young gal named Lynn or Lyrick. She has a lot of tattoos. Very sweet and attentive. Overall we really enjoyed our visit!

Feller was recommended by a friend and we were very happy we took her advice. We started with an appetizer, the foragers flat bread which we were told was 1/2 off but were charged full price. It was loaded with mushrooms and chèvre cheese but the magic ingredient was the sweet honey. We decided on our main courses after seeing the daily special menu. We ordered the jerk chicken with beans and the filet mignon with a side of the balsamic brussel sprouts. We saved room and ended our meal with the Forgers chiffon, if you dipped the chiffon cake in the lemon curd, it was the perfect bite. Over all a positive experience with delicious food.

When I arrived at the restaurant, it was completely empty, which was a bit unexpected. The bartender or waitress seemed a bit surprised to see me dining alone. She looked at me and asked, “Can I help you?” I explained that I was looking for a seat to have some food, and she followed up with, “Is it just you that’s going to eat?” That caught me off guard a little, but I went ahead and took a seat. She placed me by the large front window, which was nice—I could enjoy the view outside and do some people-watching. For lunch, I ordered mussels in a garlic cream sauce and The Bolognese. The mussels arrived with grilled bread that was soaked in butter—more than I personally prefer—but they looked fantastic. While they weren’t amazing, they were decent. Then came The Bolognese, which also looked great and tasted pretty good overall. It was slightly salty for my liking, but that might just be my personal preference. All in all, it wasn’t a bad lunch experience.

The waitress Maria ignored our table and forgot to take our order for 40 minutes. She was serving the tables all around us and we had to flag down another server because she wouldn't look at us. When we did and she finally came over she was so rude and sneering at us. Then we finally got our food and then she ignored us again while serving all the tables around us. Never checked in once. We had to flag her down again to get our checks 35 minutes later and that took another 15 minutes. It was really disappointing because the atmosphere and food is good. Wish the service was better and tables without men got served too without having to continuously beg for it. Very disappointing service from Maria. Also, the bathrooms are GROSS like there was garbage everywhere and the floors were so sticky. For a place with no entrees under $20 we should be able to keep the bathrooms clean. Do not recommend this place.

Stopped here on the weekend before Halloween to see the leaves along the river and enjoy a nice brunch before winter set in. The food was more upscale than expected and was not only delicious but well presented. You can tell the establishment takes pride in their menu. Can’t wait to come back.

I had brunch at Fellers and it was very ascetically pleasing the atmosphere was very nice. Our waiter did an excellent job at explaining things to us. He mentioned that it was connected to the coffee shop and we could order from there and they would bring it to us which I thought was very cool! But one thing I noticed was he wasn’t very attentive to the table but there did seem to only be two waiters so that might have been the reason. From my meal I really enjoyed the potato and the wild boar sausage. The potatoes were a cubed cheesy potato with a nice crunchy top to them. The wild boar sausage had a slight hint of spice to it. I also enjoyed the flavor of the jelly that came with the meal.

Step into the underground world of The Velveteen Speakeasy, a cozy cocktail bar with an art deco-inspired ambiance. This hidden gem offers creative craft cocktails that harken back to the Prohibition era. The menu features small bites perfect for sharing, including a solid cheese plate and tasty starters like kettle chips with Southwestern aioli and crostini with bruschetta.
We’ve been here several times and have enjoyed every visit. Our last visit was with a group of six. We made a reservation and were comfortably seated at a combo booth and chairs. Staff was very attentive and even accommodated two more friends that wanted to join us. The N/A drinks were very good as were the specialty drinks. I liked my Asian bowl (even if my wife finds it too salty). Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful from suggesting drinks to keeping water on the table.

Amazing!! I go to a lot of craft cocktail places mostly in Minneapolis and restaurants as well. I’m very picky….This place has the cool atmosphere like the others BUT the cocktails are much better than most of them which is what really matters imo. The staff were all very nice and friendly and even gave my girlfriend a recipe for a cocktail that she fell in love with. Will most definitely come back. Thank you Velveteen for an enjoyable evening.

It was a unique atmosphere. Very skilled, friendly, bartenders. Lots of delicious drinks to chose from. Stuffed mushrooms were great our chicken pizza was served cold. They took it back and tried to warm it. We will go there again.

I’ve been here twice now and each time it’s spectacular! The food is delicious (I’ve had the jerk chicken flatbread, jalapeño popper pastry, charcuterie board and let me tell you, the blue cheese is the best I’ve ever had). And well the cocktails are always so much fun!

I have visited twice, early and late evening and this place never disappoints. I'm a beer over cocktail person but the cocktails here are great and there is something for everyone. The live music is really top notch. The old style furniture is very comfortable as well. The wait staff dresses really nice and the atmosphere is very upbeat and nostalgic.

This is a cozy place. All the drinks we tried were really good. The bartender was nice and helpful. We came when they opened so there was no themed music playing, kind of sucked. But the time was still enjoyable! A perfect place for a small date night. Would love to come back and see some live music here one weekend.

We stopped in last night for the first time as we have been meaning to try this. Walking down the stairs to the basement entrance with the 1920s music playing is outstanding, I could just hang out there and soak it in. The history, the immersive experience, the cold basement and old building feel of the stone plus all the decorations is A+. The inside of the bar is just as good and tastefully decorated in 1920s theme throughout with various nooks and corners to sit. I only wish they played the same 1920s music there rather than modern pop stuff. The cocktails were outstanding, but pricey at $14 each. We ordered the charcuterie board which was delicious and so much food for only 2 people. They gave us a ton of goat cheese but not enough bread to eat it would be my feedback. I had the Dragonscale and the Sloane Ranger cocktails and they were perfect. Service was prompt but there were not many people there so I can't say how it would be when busy. I should mention the service doesn't match the sophistication and flair of the decor and vibe. Also from my seat I could see inside the kitchen and saw our server licking a knife while preparing our charcuterie board..... ugh. I wanted to assume it wasn't used on our food, I willed myself to believe that rationalization so I could enjoy the food.

✅if this was helpful, please click to react, and Follow me for more reviews ✅Check out my IG for more news, insight, pairings and other fun related content. ------------------------------------------------- I was very excited to visit The Velveteen as I enjoy speakeasy vibes. When we got there the door was open and you could just walk down. This is not a "secret" speakeasy. 😕customer service was ok when we were there. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. I was most disappointed in the service from a social media perspective. I reached out letting them know I was going to be celebrating a 16 year wedding anniversary, to which they did nothing for me as a customer. It was our first time, and probably the last unless they really provide a better experience. 🍰we enjoyed some late night snacks with cocktails. We did need GF options and were able to order chips and salsa, and flourless chocolate torte. The cake was great, but the salsa was very very spicy. 🥃With any speakeasy, I was looking forward to some fun bourbon options. Sadly, the whiskey menu was short and basic (almost bottom shelf) options. Very disappointing, and I would not recommend going here for bourbon. 💦 The water was really bad. Tastes like chemicals. 🍸We ordered the illusionist and I order an old fashioned with 1oz four roses / 1oz knobs creek rye. Both cocktails were reasonably priced and work good. 🕯️The ambiance could be very nice, unfortunately it seem very bright. I really thought the entrance and waiting area was a cool vibe and unique to many speakeasies I've visited. Overall, I think Matchstick is the best option for whiskey enthusiasts, and I would rather check other bars along the main strip.

Nacho Mamas is a vibrant Mexican restaurant known for its generous portions of classic Mexican dishes like tacos, quesadillas, and margaritas. The restaurant offers a lively atmosphere and colorful decor. Customers can enjoy their famous nachos loaded with various toppings such as jalapenos and guacamole. Despite being a busy place, the staff is friendly and the food portions are substantial.
Nacho Mamas might be tucked away on Stillwater’s busiest street, but it’s absolutely worth seeking out. A coworker recommended it, and I’m so glad they did. The moment we walked in, the place screamed art, ambience, and culture—with tons of cool wall art that gave it a creative and welcoming vibe. We originally stopped in just for a drink, but after chatting with our amazing waitress Maggey, we decided to order food based on her recommendations. I'm glad we did! The Mucho Margarita was, hands down, the best margarita I’ve ever had—bold, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. For food, we shared the Smothered Burrito, and it was incredible. Every bite had the perfect mix of chicken, rice, beans, and smothered in delicious cheese sauce. The portion was generous, and the flavors were spot-on. The guacamole, lettuce, and extra rice and beans on the side rounded it all out perfectly. We left feeling full, happy, and completely impressed. Nacho Mamas is the real deal—great food, drinks, and atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

Popped into the front bar area for a snack and a margarita. It was a little toasty as far as temperature went but the service was fast and friendly. We ordered the pulled pork nachos to share and the house margaritas. The nachos had ample toppings but some salsa would have been a nice addition. The margarita was perfect.

Festive place with 3 distinct dining areas, and the food was great with generous portions. Probably the best chimichanga that I've had anywhere, and the sides were very good. Salsas and guacamole dip for chips were excellent. Had no wait time, servers were attentive and dinners were prompt. Definitely worth another visit!

One of the coolest looking places I’ve been! Love the decor and lighting! We went for a cool drink and guacamole on the 4th of July! It was busy so service was okay but not perfect. Guacamole was very good! Margarita was decent. It was pretty hot so I don’t know if the AC was broken down or if it is always hot. I think on a cooler day and less busy day I would really love this place. I

Great nachos. Man, the smothered burrito is a beast. We also had calamari, which, oddly, is presented with chili peppers. I thought it was a great display. Definitely recommend it for a quick and yummy bite. The ambiance music was Spanish, not Mexican 😅

The updated patio is cute and the atmosphere is nice but I’m pretty bummed we had such a disappointing experience. Our server forgot to bring us water and our chips and salsa. We had to go get the water pitcher. There was also a bone in my salad, hard to finish a meal after biting down on a sharp bone.

The Tilted Tiki Tropical Bar & Restaurant in Stillwater is a vibrant and lively spot with island-style decor, offering an extensive menu of tropical cocktails, comfort food, and beer. The place boasts an encyclopedic cocktail list featuring classic tiki drinks and house creations. Additionally, it hosts live music from Thursday to Saturday for a fun-filled dining experience.
There's not a kids menu printed on the menu but they do have one, just need to ask. Tried a bit of everything and nothing disappointed. Would absolutely visit again. Jerk chicken sandwich was great. Sweet potato fries are done just right.

We stopped at the Tilted Tiki on a cold, snowy evening. It seemed like a nice escape from the elements. It seemed pretty cool when we walked in. Not a ton of customers, but there was one group of obnoxious women who thought screaming at each other was cute. No reflexion on the place, but definitely a turn off. The server was nice and attentive, and our food came pretty fast. The drinks were too sweet, and the food, other than the wonton nachos, was bland and smaller portions. When you see the drink menu, you realize that's what this place is focused on, but with a few tweaks to their recipes, the flavor of their food would match what it sounds like in the menu. Live music was setting up just as we left, so I cannot say if the entertainment was good.
Shannon N — Google review
Do NOT be turned off by the cheesy and outdated decor - the food and special drinks are absolutely amazing! I had the T-Swizzle cocktail and Thai chicken tacos with wonton chips; my partner had the “Gonna Need a Bigger Bun” fish sandwich with fries. Service is a little inattentive; but I personally don’t care as long as my drinks get refilled 😉

My friends & I visited Stillwater & decided to try this spot for dinner. They ordered cocktails while I went for a mocktail; drinks were amazing & we were all very satisfied! We started with appetizers: fries & cauliflower bites. The fries were incredible; flavorful, crispy & topped with a delicious sauce we all loved. I also enjoyed the cauliflower, though it was a little too oily & had a strange aftertaste. For my main, I ordered the vegan burger with chips on the side. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy it & none of us touched the chips. Two of my friends liked their main courses, but my partner and I weren’t impressed. On the bright side, the atmosphere was great & our server was wonderful. Overall, it was a nice experience; I’d come back for the drinks and appetizers, but i’d probably skip the main course.

Sheri and the staff were absolutely lovely! They treated our entire party with kindness and made our bride and groom feel special! The food and drinks were incredible! The Pela Pela shot was incredible - it’s a must do!! Worth it for the theatrics alone! We will be back! Also they’re dog friendly!

We stopped in because it was different from everything else around. Great place friendly staff. Hawaiian theme pub and grill. I had a Moko Loco, I've never seen it on a menu outside of Hawaii so I had to get it and it didn't disappoint. I wish we had a place like this in Milwaukee.
Luke S — Google review
As usual, it was jam packed. We did get a seat quickly. There’s nothing quiet about this place at all. Your conversation is heard by the people sitting next to you. Service was as good as it could get being as busy as they were. Food was pretty good. We ordered a side of rice that had so much soy sauce you couldn’t eat it. Everything else was good.
Jeff F — Google review
Food and drinks were excellent! Everything was reasonably priced and portions were good. Love the tiki theme and overall atmosphere as well. However, there is room for improvement on a service front. Our server was nice but not very attentive. She didn’t ask us how the food was nor did she promptly bring out the check. Overall, I would return again and I highly recommend the food and drinks to all. Pictured here is the cheese curds, and coconut shrimp tacos. The guava sauce that comes with the cheese curds is the best I’ve ever had!

Stillwater Proper is a highly regarded restaurant located in the heart of Stillwater's historic district. The establishment is known for its unwavering dedication to providing exceptional dining experiences. The menu features a wide variety of meticulously crafted dishes, including signature entrees and tantalizing small plates. The restaurant offers an inviting and elegant ambiance, complemented by attentive staff, making it the perfect setting for memorable dinners, business meetings, or special celebrations.
Stillwater Proper is a great place to eat and drink right downtown. They have so many drink options, along with unique food such as rice bowls, hot dogs, and great appetizers. My favorite drink, so far, is the "Well I Guess This is Growing Up," which is a spin on the Old Fashioned, and it did not disappoint. Definitely recommend it! My wife loves all the Rice Bowls, and I was simply craving a burger, and they nailed that as well. I can't wait to go back!

Stopped in for dinner during harvest fest. Super busy, but we were able to get two seats a the bar. Our server was super nice and helpful! I tried the house-made root beer and it was delicious! My husband got a drink with “at risk” in the name and he really liked it! For an app we tried the ahi tuna. It was very tasty, but a bit spicy for me. 😅 For dinner we got the tallegio grilled cheese and the fried bahn mi dog. My husband really liked his bahn mi dog! For the grilled cheese….it didn’t taste like much. Not much honey or cheese flavor. The egg was overpowering. The bread was really tasty. I was only able to eat half of the sandwich slice on the second half I found red paper in the sandwich. I could see the print of words on it. We told the waiter and she asked the chef about it and we could hear him say “it’s just the cheese rind, it’s edible”. My husband chewed on a bit to test it and it definitely had paper texture. Even if it is “edible” it’s not pleasant to eat. So maybe don’t put the rinds in a sandwich 🤷🏻‍♀️. The water nicely asked if she could get me anything instead and we got dessert. The croissant beignets were amazing! So tasty! The waiter ended up taking the grilled cheese off the bill since she had never seen that paper in the sandwich before. Super nice.

Our experience here was great. Food was 10/10. We had the Filipino wings, pork belly bowl and fried chicken sandwich. All were incredible and full of flavor. Also the Proper Margarita is honestly one of the best margaritas I’ve ever had. Top notch all around. Atmosphere inside is awesome with the exposed brick, old signs and cool tiled floor. Would definitely recommend and return!

I went with 3 kids today. The atmosphere was great. Me and the oldest had a smash burger which was very good. But the 2 Littles got a hot dog which had black seeds on the bun and cut in 1/2 lengthwise and put on a bun. What little kid is going to eat that?! And the “greens” that came with it were slathered in some nasty dressing. Kids won’t eat that. The grilled cheese should have been straight forward but alas, no, it was some crusty bread with the same greens. The kids were more than polite but the waitress acted bothered by the whole thing. It was a Tuesday afternoon, not like they were busy.
Lynn L — Google review
I met a friend here for lunch on a saturday. I loved the vibe of the place as soon as I walked in. I sat and ordered a spicy vodka cocktail. First, I must say, spicy cocktails are always hit and miss, but SP nails it. It was delicious and I would get it again. I think it was called Cobra Verde. For food I ordered some truffle fries as an app to get started. The frys were very good, I would have liked them a bit thicker cut, but the flavor was great and they were fried so well, crispy but edible! For food I got a rice bowl it had Pork Belly with it. The pork belly was awesome, but the rest of the bowl was unimpressive. The veggies were just kind of bland (I was hoping they would have been pickled) and the rice was just well rice. There was a small spattering of some kind of aioli in the rice, but not enough to spread through the dish. Service wasn't great but it wasn't bad. It just kinda was mid. I saw my server 3 times over the hour and a half we were there. 1)When I first got there ordered cocktail and fries 2) When my friend got there and we ordered our food 3) when I flagged him down for a 2nd drink and the bill. All in all, it was a great spot to have a cocktail and some ok food to go with it, definitely better than a dive bar would be.

Such a cute place located along the river with gorgeous views! The food was delicious! I shared the fried chicken sandwich with a friend after a group of 6 of us shared some apps! Best spinach Artichoke dip I have ever had! My only complaint is that they didn't carry Carbliss.

This place was great! Great location overlooking the river. Plenty of outdoor seating as well. The food is nice sized portions, hot, and tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive. Booster seats and slings available. Nothing bad to say about this place other than the parking was very limited. Highly recommend

This is a beautiful place to eat with a great view of the river. The food was absolutely amazing and the serving sizes are good for the price. It did take quite a while to get seated, and we were told multiple times by several people that someone would be around to help us soon... But I'm not sure how typical that is for The Dock, and the food was so good that I think the wait was well worth it!

Great location and views of the river! The food and service was fantastic. We especially loved the walleye and the chicken wild rice soup. The interior is a bit outdated. If they could turn the fireplaces on it would add ambiance to the room. Also some nice music would enhance the dining experience. Overall, great visit. We will be back to check out the outdoor seating.

We were looking for a place with a view in Stillwater while passing through. The Dock was recommended and it was a great choice. The atmosphere and view was nice. We've already recommended friends and we'll be back.

The Dock has hands down, my favorite food in Stillwater. Everytime I have eaten here, it’s been better than the last. Everything on the menu is incredible. They have the best chicken sandwich I have ever had, and I order one at nearly every restaurant that has them. The steak bowl is also incredible, and was a hit with my group the last time I went. I would also highly recommend the chicken wild rice soup. Their breakfast is also amazing, seriously. Aside from the food, the staff and environment are also phenomenal. The back patio has absolutely gorgeous views of the river. The staff is tentative and so friendly. Cannot recommend this place enough!

I had an absolutely delightful lunch with a dear friend at this place. The patio overlooking the serene river created a truly enchanting atmosphere. The weather was perfect, adding to the overall charm of the experience. The service we received was attentive and friendly. As for the food, I opted for a spinach salad adorned with succulent strawberries, crunchy walnuts, and delectable salmon. While the combination seemed a bit unconventional to my personal taste, the individual ingredients were undeniably fresh and flavorful. On the other hand, my friend decided to indulge in a juicy, tender steak, which they deemed excellent in every aspect. It was cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and left them thoroughly satisfied. Overall, despite my slight reservation about the flavor combination in my salad, the overall experience was truly wonderful.

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday around noon. Got sat immediately. We tried the Cowboy Burger and the Benedict Burger and they were both terrific. It was easy to tell they used high quality ingredients, especially the beef. Got them both cooked medium and they were cooked to perfection, still juicy and tender. The Parmesan fries were delicious as well and worth the extra dough. They have a beautiful fully stocked bar and offer mocktails and N/A beer as well as the usuals. The atmosphere is very cool, according to the owner it used to be a boxing gym back in the 1920s. I highly recommend a stop in for some good food and a great atmosphere when you are in Stillwater.

We had our wedding reception here for our smaller intimate wedding of 50 ppl and it was everything we wanted and more! Mandee is amazing and so easy to work with, she basically assumed the roll of whatever we needed and did it flawlessly! The bar and wait staff were awesome and the drinks were stronggg which is not a bad thing haha! I can’t even tell you how many people told us that this was the best wedding food they’ve ever had! We had the Steak Medallions, Cajun Chicken Alfredo, and the Gnocchi Burrata Pasta and it was all amazing 12/10! Our appetizers were also to die for, especially the duck wontons! All in all, if you’re considering Mad Capper for a chill and moody private event or reception DO IT! It was exactly what we wanted and we are so happy we chose to do it there!

We visited Stillwater for 4th of July weekend. We went to mad capper an hour before their early closing time. Our waitress told us that the kitchen was upset about having to work on 4th of July. My husband ordered the walleye. He said it seemed mushy and maybe microwaved and cooked darker on one side. My pasta was very good. Or beer and margaritas were very good. One of the kitchen cooks kept coming out into the hallway area by the kitchen and looking at the patrons with annoyance it seemed. The environment was loud ,fun and lively. It was fun sitting by the windows and seeing all the people walk by.

Great atmosphere. Very sad Walleye sandwich. Fish fillets were pinky finger sized. Sandwich was mostly condiments. Burgers looked really good - would get that if I ever came back.

I went here with 7 other friends and I would definitely NOT recommend this place. Not only did we have to wait 90 minutes for food, it was very difficult to get a hold of our waiter. One of our party members also did not get their food until 2 hours after ordering due to a mistake by the sever. Then upon asking for the receipt to be split we were met with extreme rudeness and were told “it would be a while” Most of our food was cold when it came out, we were charged $8 extra for 4 pieces of shrimp when we asked to sub the chicken to shrimp in our Cajun pasta. The other gnocci dishes we ordered were also cold when they came in. I highly suggest you do NOT come here for any food or drink. Horrible experience, service and food

Nestled within the new Hotel Crosby, Matchstick Restaurant & Spirits offers a farm-to-table dining experience featuring locally sourced meats and fish. The menu boasts an array of fine wines, craft beers, and a vast selection of rare spirits. Dishes are prepared on a natural wood-fired grill or smoker, catering to various palates with generous shareable plates in a warm rustic setting or on the main street patio.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a fun time at Matchstick with our group! We ordered a bunch of food to share — brisket, shrimp, Brussels sprouts, ribs, and a few desserts — and everything was absolutely delicious. The drinks were creative and super fun. The vibe of the place is great — really well-decorated and inviting. Plus, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We have eaten here several times. We stopped for lunch during fall harvest in Stillwater. We arrived about 11:10; they had just opened. Server was good, she must have had tables inside as well. We ordered the cauliflower fritters for an appetize. They were good- HUGE!! A little greasy and needed some salt, but I love veggie and would try them again. For lunch, we ordered the brisket Reuben sandwich and the salmon salad; trefethen Chardonnay - a glass for each of us. My salmon salad was great and horrible. Salmon was grilled excellent and cooked to perfection, but the salad had way too much citrus- combined with the creamy goat cheese - it over powered the salmon. The beef brisket sandwich arrived COLD! We are assuming they had to wait for the salmon to be cooked and did not sequence them together. We waited about 5-7 minutes and never saw our server and we had to flag down another and ask her to send us our server. She immediately arrived and we told her the brisket Reuben was cold. About 10 minutes later a replacement arrived, yes, it was hot- but had barely any meat on it. We really like this restaurant, but this was not a good experience this time. Please note - they charge 3% if you pay by credit card.

If you want scratch kitchen amazing food and be treated like royalty, this is for you. The beef short rib looks like something a cave man dragged in, and Its enough for 2-3 barbarians. It tastes even better, unbelievable. The Craft cocktails are off the chain. If they don't have your liquor here, you don't need it! Our server Dana was sharp and sweet. The manager Noah, came over and personnel attended to us because they ran out of something. He is a true "working manager" Valet parking is perfect. BUT seriously stay away, I want to keep it for my own.

We went here on a recommendation from family. We live in the Western Metro and travel based on the overwhelming recommendation. Our server Molly was on point along with the food and everything else. Definitely would be the worth the trip from the West.

The wife and I went for my birthday, the staff was extremely attentive and 100% on top of their game for the entire 3 hours we spent there. Best bourbon selection we've ever seen, the bartenders were very knowledgeable, the manager was friendly and awesome! The food was out of this world, we had an amazing experience and will definitely come back every time we are in the area

I loved it here! The ambiance was awesome with a chill, cool vibe to the place. Our waitress was awesome and very helpful. The brisket cheesesteak sandwich was also super tasty. I also tried the salad which was also great. Zero complaints, everything super tasty, the ambience was great! I will definitely be going back when I’m in the area.

This place is a dark atmosphere restaraunt decorated primarily with bottles of bourbon. They also have a nice wine selection. The menu is completely ala carte with vegetable options like cauliflower fritters (awesome) and sautéed Brussel sprouts with bacon (also awesome). The brisket was torturous to smell and not eat, so I had to try some. The black bass was was delicate and delicious. Can't comment on desserts, as I was too full to try any, but I'm told they have them.

Lolito Cantina is a trendy cocktail bar and restaurant that offers a unique blend of Mexican-inspired cuisine and imaginative cocktails. The establishment is part of the Lolo American kitchen group, known for its Latin American flavors and extensive selection of tequila, mezcal, rum, Mexican beers, and arid climate wines. The venue's back patio is perfect for enjoying their popular margaritas during the summer months.
Lovely food. Tried the fried lamb and chicken tacos - was delicious. And must try the Churros Potatoes!
Avishek S — Google review
My experience at Lolito Cantina was a mix of highs and lows. I accidentally left my driver’s license in the car, so I wasn’t able to order the drink I wanted. Unfortunately, the server didn’t offer me any alternatives, which was disappointing. On top of that, we had to wait a long time to place our order, which added to the frustration. Another downside was that the menu didn’t indicate gluten-free options, which would have been helpful. That being said, the food itself was absolutely delicious! It’s the best Mexican cuisine I’ve had in the U.S. so far. I wasn’t a fan of the duck dish, as it had too much chocolate for my taste. However, I really enjoyed the drink called Tepache—just a heads-up, it’s very sour! The service was polite and attentive overall, despite the initial hiccups.
Maryna B — Google review
Kim, at the bar, was amazing! Very helpful and friendly. The Lolo burger was decent. Chips n x3 Salsa's were excellent. The House Marg was pretty good as well, especially being on tap. Nice decor, and obviously a solid selection of Agave distillate's.

Really great experience! The waiter was very polite and professional. We had the Queso, Burrito Bowl, and Quesabirra tacos (with lamb). Food came out HOT which is so rare these days. The drinks were fantastic as well.

As a first time visitor to Stillwater, I was enamored by the warmest welcome from Bartender Derek Malchow, whose personality boomed as bright as the fabulous ambiance and delectable dinner! The salsa trio, guacamole, and queso fundido paired with specialty crafted margaritas comprised the perfect nighttime nosh. Overall service was unparalleled, as Misty (MJ) delighted us with her vibrant and gregarious charm, and General Manager Kimberly put the punctuation mark on this exemplary experience. Kara Leigh from TPA will be back for a savory snack soon!

The Wild Hare is a dive-bar inspired restaurant that offers a wide range of gluten-free and vegan options infused with Mediterranean and Moroccan flavors. From cheese curds to yellow curry bowls, the menu caters to diverse tastes. The establishment also boasts creative cocktails and mocktails made with fresh juices. With its laid-back patio, it's an ideal place to relax, people-watch on Main Street, and savor delicious food.
Delicious and unique! Had chicken Thai lettuce wraps, cauliflower-falafel bites, and a chicken sandwich special. As generation X-ers we appreciated the decor but any age would love the excellent food. Great concept of “90’s themed organic dive bar” we heard a server say. Staff were great, clean setting, and memorable food. Thanks for having mocktails and N/A beer options. Super cute area to walk around too. Highly recommend!
Erika B — Google review
A cute little place in Stillwater. We went with 3 little kids and everyone really enjoyed their food. The place doesn't seat many people inside, maybe 30ish not including sitting at the bar. The atmosphere is fun with lots of music & movie posters. The 90's kid will really enjoy it. There were 2 waitresses and they were running and overwhelmed! We asked for water and didn't get any until after we had eaten almost all of our appetizer. We ordered wings with ranch and didn't get any ranch. We ended up having to ask for it after our wings were cold because we couldn't get the servers attention. The ranch (& ketchup) were homemade, which some of the kids loved while others thought it was spicy (it did taste kind of "hoppy"). We follow a low carb lifestyle and came here because their Google Maps menu pictures show keto buns as an option. They no longer have them, they got rid of them spring 2024 😢 We had lettuce wraps and made a huge mess because the lettuce wasn't very big so all the toppings fell out. We ordered the crudites appetizer as it said it came with hummus & a pesto aoli. Ours came with no hummus. We were going to ask why we didn't get hummus, but the pesto aoli was SO good we preferred that! Overall I'd suggest going to the food & the atmosphere! Just be prepared to wait on drinks & dips!

Delightful outdoor patio in gorgeous weather and view of busy street activity. Really good shrimp tacos and Korean BBQ cauliflower! Great service and food, even though they were busy.

What a fun place to eat! Love the decor, service was excellent, the gluten free community finds it safe because most menu items can be made gf and their fryers are gluten free so taking my daughter with celiac was so fun for her to be able to get onion rings and try some wings. The Hercules burger was really good and tried the cowboy way burger as well and that was also really tasty. Mocktails are fun. I’ll definitely be back!
Crafty M — Google review
This was my 4th time dining here. We made a reservation for our party of 6, which worked out well, as the restaurant filled up fast. We were celebrating my oldests bday (fyi - they don't offer a dessert or anything if it's your day). I have Celiac and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to ordering. Our table shared cheese curds (amazing!) onion rings (not bad) as appetizers to start with. They have a variety of sauces. The harissa was great with the curds. One Daughter said the cowboy burger was THE best burger she's ever had! My other daughter is vegan, and she enjoyed the mushroom tacos, and cauliflower bites. The tacos and bowls are very good, and filling ... The coconut curry soup is so flavorful. The craft cocktails are delicious although a bit pricey. They make all their syrups in house though, so great quality. I recommend the rumpshaker. They offer a variety of beers on tap, mocktails, and a couple N/A beers, and liftbridge root beer. There is a pinball machine near the bathrooms. Fun - but it's $2 per game. There's a few parking spots next to the restaurant. Otherwise it's street parking.

Stopped in for lunch while in Stillwater. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious, I had the Cowboy Way burger with regular fries. It was definitely one of the best burgers I have had. My wife had the Asian tacos and said they were delicious. I look forward to stopping here again when I am in Stillwater.

We saw the reviews online and figured we would try it out. We sat on the patio. We were helped pretty quickly. Although we didnt receive our drinks until our food arrived. We had to ask for silverware and napkins along with our drinks when our food came out. My wife's food was especially bland. No seasoning on the rice or meat. I had the shrimp tacos. The shrimp was season and cooked perfectly. But the corn tortillas overpowered all flavor of the shrimp. My wife and I agreed that not only the service was below par. So was the food. We appreciate your try.

🍕Best pizza restaurant ever I’ve NEVER had pizza better than this place, and I’m serious. Food: we got the pizza fries (which no, are not fries) that tasted basically like cheesy bread, but still had that “fry” feeling with the way it was cut. We also got the build-your-own pepperoni pizza which was 🤩 phenomenal! Service: service was fast and kind. Very friendly and willing to help if you ask for any. Atmosphere: gives a modern feeling without the hippiness (if you know what I mean) and makes you feel like your in a northern luxurious restaurant which it also being a pizza place, breaking SOME stereotypical barriers of pizza places.

The owners are super friendly and chill. The pizza was delicious! Loved the crust. We got the Average Ordinary Guy pizza - perfect spicy and meaty. Best pizza we've had in awhiiiile.

I've been here twice, both times because our first choice of restaurant was too busy. Maybe this place needs to be our first choice from now on. The wood fire cooking method makes the crust a perfect combination of crispy and chewy and the toppings are top notch! I got a BBQ chicken pizza the last time I went and was pleasantly surprised. The prices are incredibly low for the location (right in the heart of downtown Stillwater) and the wait time has not been more than 20 minutes each time we went. I'm definitely looking forward to trying more of their items. The appetizer menu looks amazing so that will be next on my list!

Great personal pizzas for the price. All the pizza crust are handmade. Fresh vegetables with almost ever topping you can think of. All that in a oak wood fired Italian brick oven. Our pizzas come out with a perfectly crunchy outter crust with a warm chewy inter covered with melted fresh mozzarella and a sprinkle of fresh basil. The Main Cafe is a cozy and unassuming eatery that has been serving up classic American breakfast and lunch dishes since 1989. Founded by Samy Youssef, who honed his culinary skills in France, the cafe prides itself on offering home-style meals made with top-quality ingredients. The diner exudes a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and is known for its generous portions of delicious food.
I have been in the customer service industry for 56 years and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Main Cafe this morning. The establishment had two open tables when we entered and Laura ( I believe that was her name) was just cleaning the one we sat at. She was extremely courteous while we hovered over the table and very quick, but thorough! Our two servers (Laura and one other helper) were very good and the food was prepared very quickly. Not only was it fast, but it tasted wonderful! I was very impressed of the service and quality given by the servers and cooking staff! If I could give them 10 stars instead of 5 I would!!

The Main Cafe is a good classic diner-style restaurant in downtown Stillwater serving up breakfast and lunch dishes. My partner and I visited on a Sunday around 11 and had no trouble finding a seat. The atmosphere, service, and food were all solid. Our server was nice and brought us coffee refills promptly. Their menu is large with lots of classics so it's definitely a good stop if you're hoping to satisfy a picky eater. Atmosphere-wise, I like the murals they have painted on either end of the restaurant. Overall, while I wasn't totally blown away by any one thing, I thought everything was pretty good and I left full. This restaurant is definitely worth a stop, especially if you're looking for a breakfast to scratch that nostalgic itch for classic diner food.

S-L-O-W so don’t visit if you’re in a hurry. We had no problems finding a table so I didn’t think it was considered busy. We waited 45 minutes for two omelettes. Hashbrowns were bland; one order was barely browned. Standard breakfast fare with only diner coffee & machine dispensed French vanilla “cappuccino” available. Super cute little old building on the main drag so location is a plus. Staff were friendly. Plenty of waitresses, so I think the hold up was in the kitchen.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch. There were six of us and two separated 4 tops were available. The employees asked a couple that had just sat down if they minded moving to make room. I would have NEVER thought to ask this or expected this in a thousand years, but I know of it was asked of me I probably wouldn’t have cared either. The people moved and just now I thought to myself why did I not think of buying their breakfast until this moment. To those two that moved, I hope you had a good day and thank you. Your good deed let my wife get to sit with 4 of her very dear friends and reminisce. Back to the food. I had a Reuben with rings. The Rueben was great, but the rings were something else. I’m always worried that they will be too greasy, but these were perfect. Great place, we will be back next time im Stillwater.

Happened upon this location walking through town. Did not know what to expect. Found the absolute best cheese curds I have ever had!!! The prime rib was incredibly tender (wish there was some sort of seasoning applied). Fast and friendly service a true plus.

We had been to this place when it was called Whiteys several times, but this was our first visit since the change in ownership. First thing I noticed was they kept the fresh squeezed juice... YAY!!!! I enjoy a variety of cocktails, but a screwdriver with fresh OJ is near the top of my list. So big thanks for that. I was perusing the menu and it didn't take long for me to notice the lasagna w/side salad. I am a lasagna hound and snob, and have tried it at many establishments over the years. This offering was outstanding, perhaps my favorite (not made by my wife, of course). We will be back. P. S. we used to boat on the river and visited Stillwater a lot, but not since COVID. Howard's has been on our radar for a while. Hearing more about it at the Wits Reunion show at the Fitzgerald motivated us to get it done.

I don't think I can stress enough that I just had the best sandwich of my life 😂 I was swooning and already planning my next trip back to have it again. Get the Nashville Hot Chicken. Amazing 11/10. Only ntoe is that it is not hot in the slightest, definitely on the sweet side. But the flavors and slaw with the pickles and sauce went together so so well. I was so shocked I made my friend try it, and she was blown away as well. I never leave reviews. But, I was moved by this sandwich lol. Will be back.

Okay food, Great view and location. Prices are high for what you get. $15 for a pretty small amount of mediocre cheese curds really got to me.

After completing the 5-mile trail walk around the Saint Croix area today, we stopped into this Irish Pub for lunch. We walked in and stood by the hostess desk for a few minutes. No one acknowledge us or stopped by to say they were busy and would be back to seat us. Instead, we stood there like idiots. The bartender knew we were there and the a waitress by the lemonade fountain was too busy looking at a receipt to even see us. We left due to no service and walked over to Brick & Bourbon where we were immediately seated. We had a wonderful lunch there. I guess this Charlie's Restaurant and Irish Pub didn't want our money today. *Shrug* Limited stars given for poor customer service. My family and I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I visit this place once or twice every year as a part of my Stillwater experience. The service is always outstanding. The food is always great. My favorite is an Irish eggroll - crunchy on the outside and greasy on the inside. Served with lettuce and blue cheese. This time around I also enjoyed a bowl of very hearty stew- flavourful and delicious. And an Irish burger, smothered in whiskey flavored onions with a hefty side of fries.
Valeri M — Google review
This place has mediocre food for adults and an abomination of what can only be described as dog scraps for kids. The view is nice and the location is perfect - but too bad the owners realize that the location is enough to have all tables full, and not really care about the food quality. Prices are high, as would be expected from the location, but again the food quality is lacking and you almost feel as if you were ripped off at the end of it all.
Avi A — Google review
A very "okay" experience. The apps came out after the entrees 😂. The dry rub wings were pretty good, unfortunately the sliders were gas station quality. Edible but not what you expect when dining in. Oh did I mention this is an Irish pub? The restaurant is located in the Water Street Inn, on the south side of the building. Parking is available on both the south and north side of the building. The patio area has a wonderful view of the river, and historic bridge.

Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter is a lodge-style restaurant nestled in a pine forest, offering a classic German dining experience with imported beers and outdoor seating. Since 1966, this award-winning establishment has been serving authentic German specialties and beverages. Located just ten minutes from downtown Stillwater, it provides an opportunity to enjoy outdoor dining and special events with traditional German music. The atmosphere exudes an authentic German vibe, making visitors feel like they are truly experiencing the culture.
Birthday lunch out with family was extra special today at Gasthaus. Everyone had some kind of Schnitzel that was really delicious and hot. The sausage was so good, I wish we ordered more. I guessing they were short on servers, but she did fantastic with all her tables. The desserts were big a very delightful! The cocktails and beer were very good. The restaurant looked very clean and well cared for. Absolutely no complaints.

The atmosphere at Gasthaus is incredible. It has a very traditional German homey vibe. Reminds me of my great grandmothers home. Food was delicious! I ordered the Jagerschnitzel which was great. I do however wish the spatzle wasn't plain. I think it needs to be seasoned or have some kind of flavoring added before serving. Fortunately I had some mushroom sauce left over from my schnitzel. The accordian player is very talented and is open to conversation and informing you about the instrument or songs. Our server was unfortunately not very friendly and seemed to be in a bad mood. Don't know if it was circumstantial or just their personality but it lowered the rating and is sadly memorable.
Tristian M — Google review
I’m not German but as a Swede having never been to Germany, this feels as authentic as you can get in MN. The decor, the beer, the traveling accordions… I adore German fare and the Gausthaus has never disappointed! I have not been since the new owner took over a couple years ago. It is as good as ever. I had the Jager schnitzel with red cabbage and the warm cider potato salad. I added a knockwurst for good measure. I didn’t see the Bavarian Favorites combo I used to adore with Jager schnitzel, Rahm Schnitzel, knockwurst and the potato dumplings but this was very close. Six adults and everyone left full and happy. Thank you for another fabulous experience!

The ambiance evokes the experience of immediate transportation to a traditional German beer garden. The restaurant features polka music and serves authentic German cuisine, providing a delightful respite from the daily routine.

The vegetables were a bit too hard and coleslaw had a bitterness but the chicken (I had) walleye (my husband had) we each enjoyed the food. Service was very good. We'll be back again! Not really kid place to eat...you're not going to find mac&cheese or hot dogs.

Loved this place. We got lucky on an early Friday and got seated right away without a reservation. This is not the norm! The food was great the atmosphere was perfect the acordian player was great! We really enjoyed ourselves! The service was welcoming, friendly and was wonderful. We will be making reservations next time!

I had the Vienna Style schnitzel and 2 types of potatoes-fried with bacon and onion and the warmed vinegar with bacon and onion. Mine was very good! My husband had the pork knuckles. Both of our portions were large (both enough to take home for leftovers) We had to do the apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. The strudel was delicious! They had an accordion player during our dinner. Very authentic German food and ambiance was made a perfect dinner for our 1st visit. They have a bar at the entrance inside, as well as one downstairs. We checked out the bar downstairs, great pricing discount offered and it was full after our dinner. They have a beautiful property including a lovely beer garden and goats along the back of their property. I would love to travel back here to visit during October fest. Thank you to all staff here 🥰

Osaka Sushi is a delightful gem that offers an authentic taste of Japanese cuisine right on Main Street. This compact kitchen serves up familiar sushi options alongside hibachi mains, making it a perfect spot for both casual diners and sushi enthusiasts. With daily lunch buffets and enticing happy hour specials, there's always something to enjoy. Guests rave about the quality of the sushi, with standout dishes like the "Kiss of the Geisha" roll impressing palates with its spicy crunch and fresh ingredients.
The "Kiss of the Geisha" sushi roll was some of the best sushi that I have ever had. We asked for a recommendation from the friendly server, and that roll hit the spot! Spicy, crunchy, and the fish and crab were excellent quality. Good portion of Wasabi on the side. The saki options offered were great as well. Sitting at the sushi bar is a fun and entertaining experience. Great sushi chefs and great servers.

Was my first time trying this place out. It’s located right on the main strip in Stillwater. The outside is kinda dingy looking and the inside is a little outdated looking as well. But it’s well kept and the staff is friendly. The food was pretty good and came out very quickly. Portion sizes are good and the Prices are very reasonable. Our waitress was very helpful and a very kind person. She did a great job taking care of us! I had a hibachi mix and then some sushi as well as some other random stuff to try. I would recommend this place!
Andy P — Google review
Went on a Tuesday night, not too busy. Very attentive server. Our favorite was the pork gyoza appetizer. We also split some sushi and ramen, which was good.
S K — Google review
While the service was genuinely good, the quality of the food just was not up to par. The sushi lacked freshness and flavor, and the overall presentation felt rushed and uninspired. Dishes that should have been clean and vibrant came across as dull, both in taste and appearance. For a place that specializes in sushi, that was a letdown. The staff did their best to create a pleasant experience, which I appreciated, but ultimately, the food didn’t live up to it. With some improvement in the kitchen, this place could be much better.

This is a great place for sushi 🍣 lovers. We enjoyed the Aloha and Out of Control rolls along with yellowtail, spicy salmon, and some salmon sashimi. Washed it all down with some sauvignon blanc, Sapporo, and Kirin beers. We sat by the window 🪟 and watched the hustle and bustle of Stillwater's main street while we ate.

Coming from Southern California, I have been craving and missing really GOOD sushi. I have not been able to find it, even in the cities, until now! The sushi here is great. And has been great every time I’ve gone. It’s been empty each time I went, and I can’t understand why. Maybe I am missing their peak hours. Don’t let that turn you away though! The sushi and the service are stellar!
Lara-Marie K — Google review
They are rude over the phone and they forgot chop sticks, soy sauce and napkins. I called to talk to them and they were short and said never to order again. Fine,I like Sky Dragon better anyway. Plus they don’t forget the small details and they are cheaper. The portions are better also at Sky Dragon.

Great sushi binge! Always let your sisters husband just ask the chefs name and then say we trust him bring us awesome sushi nigiri and don’t forget the uni! The fresh wasabi chutney is the first thing I’ll mention A great! The uni was perfect! The scallop first course in a spoon thing was amazing! Everything was great! Not much beats ignore the bill sushi lunch! I kept joking with my sisters husband you surrender yet? Great service too!

Ziggy's On Main in Stillwater, MN is a lively spot offering live music, delicious pub eats, and a full bar with unique offerings like the lobster tail Bloody Mary. The club-like restaurant features a changing food truck-inspired menu and a live music stage for entertainment. Guests can enjoy mouth-watering burgers such as the classic cheeseburger or the bacon & blue cheese burger while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.
I came to Ziggy's over the weekend to see Shredding Flannel perform live, and it was an awesome live show and great overall experience. On tap they had Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale, which is one of the best beers of all time, and a beer that you just don't see at almost any other place. I will be back just for this beer. Our server was awesome. Can't wait to try the food next time. Great place to see live music and have a beer.

The vibes here were great! We came on a Friday night and wanted a spot to sit and warm up a bit while grabbing some food and drinks. We walked in and were seated right away. We tried the Nashville hot tenders and some fries, and got a margarita and cider for drinks. Food was pretty good, we loved the fries. After sitting for a while the live music started playing and the place definitely got busier, so we were lucky to have grabbed the table beforehand. Music was great and a really fun atmosphere!

A really fun bar and grill with a great house band! Izzy was our server and she was fantastic. Tonight was "I'm with the Band" night so people who had registered before tonight could get up and jam with the house band. The spotlight band was one called "Joyride" and they are one of the best rock bands I have ever seen and heard. The two lead vocalists were totally amazing and the band was tight! I hope Ziggy's has them come back again soon! Fun night. Food was yummy, too!

There's a new menu. I appreciate it when all the options are good, and everyone enjoyed their dish thoroughly. Lucky we made it out before the live music started because we enjoyed a quiet meal to catch up.

Melt Pizza Company, located at 112 Main Street N Stillwater, MN 55082, is dedicated to creating top-quality handcrafted pizzas. They take pride in their multi-day artisan style dough and use only premium ingredients for their scratch-made menu items. Customers have raved about the delicious Caesar salad and Filipino Adobo wings as appetizers. The Dream Team Pizza with pepperoni, ricotta, basil, and hot honey was a standout with its perfect crispy texture and delightful flavors.
It’s an awesome place to stop by and grab a bite before continuing your exploration of the town. The food is always freshly made, and the staff are friendly. This time, I ordered a salad. I know it’s unusual to order a salad at a pizza place, but I wanted to try something new since I’ve had the pizza here before. The salad was great too. My sister ordered a pizza, and according to her, it was delicious. Also, if you don’t drink alcohol, they offer mocktails.

Nice atmosphere and delicious food. The wait for a table was brief for a busy Saturday. The service was excellent and our server was so nice. The food was made with love and the portions were generous. This is Detroit Style pizza, so if thick edges of caramelized cheese on a focaccia type crust topped with plenty of what you like piled on, you’ll definitely want to try this place! This is a cute little walking/shopping town, so parking is limited close to the restaurant, but there’s plenty of inexpensive public parking located within a comfortable walking distance.

Finally got to try the she's my cherry pie pizza and have to admit it has lived up to the hype! Perfect mix of sweet, heat, and meat. Loved the added subtleties of the pistachio and jalapeno. Also had the adobo wings and a few cocktails which were also top tier. Can't wait to visit again this summer!

Excellent local pizza restaurant that offers Detroit style pizza, thin crust pizza, apps and happy hour specials. We ordered the Premo Detroit pizza and the Drunken love thin crust. Both were awesome and completely spot on. If you haven't tried the thin cracker crust you need to as it's unique to any other crust out there. Also the drinks are great and mixed perfectly. The servers are definitely professional and attentive but not hovering. If in Stillwater this is a great place to unwind and get great pizza.

We’ve been several times and have done both dine in and takeout and haven’t been disappointed. We go the gluten free route for the pizzas and very much enjoy the crust. We’ve also tried a few of the wings and have enjoyed the flavors. We’ve taken others who have had the regular pizza crust and enjoyed it. Love their cocktails and haven’t had a bad one.

After looking online for a different pizza to try we decided to give Melt Pizza a go. As a walk-in I ordered the Soprano and the OG @ the bar to go. The female that took my order was professional. After my 25 minute ride home we were pleasantly surprised with some very tasty pizza. The jalapenos on the Soprano were screaming hot even though the pizza had time to cool. I would definitely recommend the vodka sauce if you're spicy like me. I see return trips in our future.

You & Me Cafe offers a variety of gluten-free options, with the French toast being particularly light and sweet. The bacon is a standout item, thick-cut and cooked to perfection. The chai latte has a strong cinnamon flavor that may not be for everyone. The Reuben sandwich and fries are highly recommended, as well as the vegan hash and roast chicken sandwich with house salad. The cafe provides ample seating and outlets for those looking to work while enjoying their meal.
This was the cutest Lil breakfast Cafe on Stillwater! The corned beef hash was so hearty. The corned beef was very flavorful. Loved the staff and the vibes. Highly recommend. Good tea and coffee selections too.

Fast service, pretty good food, cute cafe. It was a little crowded. It's easy to see they are busy so they work to make all the space work to seat as many as possible, a good problem to have. It's a little loud because of the crowding; only to say I would study or go to work in the cafe. It is darling and more social space. The staff are helpful and the food prep and serving is FAST! Thw biggest complaint is the value of food compared to price. It's more than we would normally spend on sitting in a cafe. It's definitely too much to charge $8 for two scrambled eggs for a kiddo when it comes with no side. I know the price of eggs is high and businesses should pay a fair wage but that is a bit too far. Still a great little cafe to support.

We had a great lunch here last week. I had the harvest bowl: Chicken, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Apples, Goat Cheese, dried Cranberries Roasted Almonds, Wild Rice, Kale, Balsamic Reduction glaze. SO good. The flavors were outstanding. Mmmm.... Still thinking about how delicious it was. Me friend had: the Buddha bowl. Jasmine Rice, Red Onion, Carrot, Mushroom, Broccoli, Sesame Seeds, Scallion, Sweet Chili & Sesame Tamar and added chicken. She said it was very tasty. The staff was very knowledgeable about the menu items and answered all of our questions. most next items can be made gluten free, which was great. (I have Celiac) Thet have really good coffee drinks, and a limited bar/wine menu. There was an amazing looking bakery case filled with cookies, macarons, scones, tarts, cupcakes, muffins, bars, etc... including multiple gluten free options. We had to skip dessert as we were very full. But - next time! Lots of free street parking. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful and charming little cafe and coffee shop! They have a wide variety of delicious hot and cold drinks and breakfast/brunch meals, as well as some tasty pastries. We got an Americano and Italian soda, along with a chocolate croissant and a eggs, sausage, and bacon breakfast. The chocolate croissant was fresh and flaky with a decadent chocolate topping. The eggs, bacon, and sausage were terrific. The service was fast and friendly.

Cute place to grab brunch with friends or get some work done! They have outlets and plenty of seating, but we just came to get brunch and loved it. Counter service and the food came quickly. We got the vegan hash (portion was a bit smaller than anticipated and was mostly potatoes), roast chicken sandwich w house salad (dressing was a good blend of creamy and balsamic and sandwich was delicious!) and breakfast croissant. Would come back!

Best sweet potatoes of my life (I’ve had them only once before but still.) Delicious. I ate them so fast I only thought to take a photo half way through
Kylee — Google review
Nice ambiance. OK service. Terrible food. The breakfast potatoes were overcooked - dry and flavorless. The over-easy eggs were runny (over-easy doesn't mean under-cooked). The toast was under-toasted. The "jam" was thin and runny. The coffee was OK. The bacon was good, because we like crispy bacon.
Michael O — Google review
The only good thing about this place was the coffee and bacon. Everything else was bad. They didn't understand how to cook eggs. Unless you get scrambled watch out, they will probably still be half cooked. I asked them to remake them, which they did, but still didn't make sure they were fully cooked. Runny doesn't = raw. I asked to make a complaint they said come here to Google so here I am, there is no manager besides the kitchen. Both people I spoke to didn't try to make it right any other way. Wasted a lot of money. Just terrible service.

Despite being packed, the staff moved quickly to serve customers. Overall, MN Nice Cream is worth a visit to experience its delectable offerings.
I love their sundaes here! They are loaded with goodies and can be shared between 2 people. I got the Cookie Monster, and it was overflowing! Staff were nice, and the place was clean too. You can get free edible glitter on top of your ice cream too!

Decent soft serve. It had a very smooth texture but the flavor was too subtle for my liking. I think adding toppings would have solved this though! If you like more subtle delicate flavors you’ll definitely enjoy this spot. The atmosphere and the place’s decoration were amazing though! I really enjoyed the fun neon lights and colorful decorations.
Lera — Google review
Yes, the soft serve does have a subtle taste. I think it makes perfect sense because the ice cream is meant to have toppings! 😋🍫 The subtle taste allows the toppings to really add that sweetness to this dessert. I enjoyed but it is a pit pricey, $9 for one! ☝️

I was so disappointed today when the worker handed my sister this ice cream (untouched by me). They charged us for vegan ice cream and then said “oops we are running out so sorry.” This was unfortunately a waste of money! They probably should not have charged us for this.

Fantastic allergy protocols. Their current ice cream is tree nut-free, produced in a facility where coconut is present. They change gloves, prep in a special area, and pull fresh containers of toppings.

Super fun experience and love the decor. But I wasn't a fan of the actual ice cream. So I wouldn't probably wouldn't wait in the long line again. But staff was nice and moved lines quickly. The editable glitter was fun! They had vegan options and bunch fun cones! That was cool but I need more flavor in my ice cream and I had a chocolate waffle cone with the burbon brownie or what ever and we got the cookie monster and the one with gummy bears and fruity pebbles. Kids love that! I did love the cone holders for the kids! That was great 👍.

Nelson's Ice Cream is a historic gem in Stillwater, serving a wide variety of old-fashioned ice cream flavors since 1923. It has become a beloved establishment for locals and visitors alike. Beyond just being an ice cream shop, Nelson's aims to create unforgettable experiences for families, friends, and the community.
Great experience! The servers were so friendly and efficient. Heads up that it is cash only (but they have an ATM inside of you need it). Flavors were plentiful and delicious. We all ordered child sizes and most of us had leftovers.
Kayla B — Google review
Sweet mother of servings, the amount of ice cream dispensed at this location is beyond compare. We realized, far too late, that a double was not a "double scoop", but perhaps intended for two people to share over the course of several weeks. :D After each ordering a double, our mounds of ice cream leering at us with a playful taunt, we decided it might be best to save some, as certainly, that much ice cream would leave one catatonic, if not, with a belly ache at lease. Naturally, I consumed all of mine in a single sitting, and despite apprehension, my stomach was not displeased with me at all! I couldn't help myself. The banana ice cream was ON POINT, perfect in every way. The bits of brownie provided an excellent texture contrast, helping me to pace myself and enjoy the journey. Definitely go get yourself a ton of ice cream and eat it all. You won't regret it.

We had a sweet & chilling eperience visting Nelsons. Pretty good for an 100+ year old business. It worth joking death by icecream if you end up taking the large sized portions. Little inside secret, you end up making it to the wall of fame and a refill if you are able to finish it all by yourself. Its pretty busy during summer days and the lineup clears up quite soon. Only qualm , if you will is they accept cash only but make it convinient with an ATM stationed inside the store. Great tasty experience for the entire family
HariG — Google review
Well our second vist here... and they were open this time! Ordered a child's size, which came in a cup with about 5 scoops! I had them stop at 3 after what I saw ahead of me. I had moose track, and it was fantastic, not too sweet, good amount of added ingredients including some peanut butter cups. We had 4 child's size and everyone tried to eat it all. Place was packed, good speed on service, "cash only" with and ATM on site. You need to try it before they close for winter! Oh, come hungry and if you dare, don't split...
Kelly D — Google review
Absolutely massive portions. Flavors are delicious and there are so many options to choose from! Be prepared to wait — we were in line about 45 minutes when we stopped by at 4:30pm!
Mary F — Google review
My friend and I have been coming here for years and splitting a child’s size. Those of you that go here know that is at least 6 scoops of ice cream. My friend was full from lunch and I can only eat a small amount due to a medical condition, so we asked for a scoop of ice cream a piece, which is what you see in their small cup. She charged us $12 for two scoops of ice cream. $6 per scoop. That’s the price of two child’s size. She said she couldn’t “split it,” even though we were together and have split it for years. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had here. I guess they now prefer waste and chasing decades-long customers away. Very sad end to what was a great run. I gave two stars for the great memories, this visit wouldn’t even be on the scoreboard, but in the negatives.
Michelle M — Google review
What an amazing experience I have had at this phenomenal ice cream shop. Overall, the times that I have been here have been amazing and very delightful! The only complaints I have about it are the serving sizes and the line. The serving sizes are often way too big for one person to consume. I’m all for getting your moneys worth, but at times it has felt a little excessive and wasteful with the amount of ice cream they serve you, even the child sizes are enormous. Although with that being said, the quality of the ice cream is through the roof and is extraordinarily delicious. I am also pleased to report that the staff is always super friendly and kind. On multiple occasions, I have seen them accommodate for others food allergies by getting a fresh tub of ice cream and replacing their gloves and scooper. This caused me to be extraordinarily impressed. I should warn you, though, that the wait time and line are very very very long. There is also not amazing seating. There are some picnic tables, but the majority of the time they are full and you have to eat elsewhere. To conclude, I have loved coming to Nelson‘s and I will probably continue to come here quite frequently. There are just a few minor inconveniences, but it is truly a good place to go!! I recommend this place!

I had a reservation at The Lowell Inn but, unfortunately, couldn’t make it due to a sudden family emergency. When I called to let them know I wouldn’t be checking in, the front desk staff member I spoke with (I cannot recall her. name ) was incredibly kind and understanding—just what I needed in that moment. I never requested a refund, as it was a same-day cancellation and I completely understood the policy. But when I checked my credit card later, I saw that they had refunded the reservation. It was an unexpected act of generosity that truly meant a lot during a stressful time. Their kindness and compassion did not go unnoticed, and I’m really looking forward to staying there in the future. Thank you, Lowell Inn, for being so thoughtful.

Very cool to stay at a historic hotel and one of the oldest in Stillwater. The rooms were nice and my only complaint would be it smelled a little musty, but being by the river its understandable. We had a balcony view in our room and the balcony felt very private. Our favorite part was hearing the stories from staff about the rooms and exploring the hotel itself. The breakfast was good and they had different morning cocktails to choose from. Will go back.

Review is for hotel room #227 and breakfast at the restaurant. The room was charming. Bathroom was very nice. Can't beat the location in Stillwater. I stayed here for the Log Run Half Marathon. It's a walking 2 blocks from the shuttle pick up and 3 blocks from finish line. My expectations of the room were just what it was (historic building) based on other reviews. The hotel was very quiet and the AC worked very well and was very quiet. Please get new pillows for the rooms. Pillows were as old as the building. ;) Flat, compact, pancake pillows. At the hotel price point, it's reasonable to expect new pillows. The breakfast was delicious at the restaurant and received a 10% coupon at check in. The staff was super nice and helpful.

What wonderful people! We booked several rooms for my son‘s wedding, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my sister-in-law who at the last minute needed an accessible room. Everyone really enjoyed their stay. It is very convenient to downtown and a great staff.
Michael N — Google review
This is the absolute worst hotel we have ever stayed at. DONT bring a stroller or be handicapped because the rooms are not accessible in any way. The parking is nearly impossible, the hallways are covered in trash and people’s shoes for some reason. Overpriced as possible. No breakfast service, restaurant is closed for renovations maybe? Customer service is non existent. We would have had a better stay sleeping on the street out front if it wasn’t for the constant drug addicts and homeless everywhere. This place is absolutely putrid. Do yourself a favor and stay at a motel and then just drive downtown so you can get $20 drinks and crappy food. What a joke. Will NEVER return.

It was ok but not amazing for the price. Was clean enough and good enough but not amazing. Stayed in a King Deluxe (331) as a couple get away. AC worked, but old school knob for colder or hotter, not a set temperature. Bathroom ok but cheap remodel. Listed as shower tub but only shower. Neat furniture and style but old carpet and hard bed, poor window shades that let tons of light in. Includes parking, does not include breakfast (as listed). Location is decent, off the main strip a block or so. Again, not bad, just not amazing for the $300+ a night in my opinion.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious, eggs Benedict was quite good. Rooms are small with very little flat surfaces to hold items. No shelf in the bathroom. Quiet place, AC works!

Went for a relaxing lunch experience. When the famous Cream of Mushroom soup arrived, it was accompanied by two stale crackers. It was only when I asked, did I receive a basket of warm bread. My entree was Walleye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I started to eat the fish and it was fishy. I tried to eat more than a couple of bites but couldn't. The waitress had 1 other table of 4. She failed miserably in following up with us. When she did show up, I told her that it wasn't edible. She took the plate and said that she would talk to the chef. Ten minutes later, she offered me and small slice of cheese cake. I had all I could do, not to throw up. We had to get up and pour our own water and ask the other waitress for our check. Worst food and worst service that we have ever received from this restaurant. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Patriots Tavern is a cozy pub in Stillwater, MN that offers a taste of New England with its American cuisine and tap brews. The tavern is designed to resemble a New England Tavern and serves wood-fired pizzas, flatbreads, burgers, salads, and other classic American dishes. Despite its small size and limited seating, the place exudes a cool vibe reminiscent of a small town inn in Vermont.
Phenomenal food options and great bang for your buck. I asked for a medium rare Fungi Burger, 2 Patty's, and it came out beautifully. Our server was very efficient and knowledgeable. The environment is really neat, although the booth was quite uncomfortable.

Great tasty food, excellent wood fire pizza, and amazing staff at Patriots Tavern in Stillwater. I have now tried a few of their different specialty wood fire pizzas and all have been amazing. Great crust and tasty toppings. They have a good selection of craft beers on tap. The service has always been fantastic.

Visited for lunch with a friend. We were sat immediately and greeted by our friendly waiter immediately. The atmosphere is laid back and homey. The food was delicious and you could tell it was freshly made.

Wow!! This is a definite hidden GEM! We stopped in to have lunch. And the service, food and atmosphere was fantastic. Posting photos to show the size of the massive onion rings. The Lobster Roll was Devine. The filet mignon was so beyond delicious. Tender and so much flavor. We brought our kids and it was kid friendly but at the same time a perfect spot for a date night. I highly recommend coming here. Our server was so kind and very helpful with the menu.

It's always a treat to go to Patriots tavern in Liberty Village Stillwater minnesota. It's a special place because it's probably the only pub that you can get Old Speckled Hen beer on tap. And it's probably the best beer you'll ever have. It's always fun to joke around with server Chip. He's always happy and in a good mood. I'll usually get the tavern Burger medium rare it's delicious. I saw on their special menu last week that they have a baha Burger. This burger consists of a half pound Char-Broil burger with 4 oz of lobster tail, green onions and baja sauce, $28.00. I can't wait to try Burger, next time I go there. I would recommend Patriots Tavern great food in Good times.

The was our first visit and we were highly impressed with our service during the lunch hour. The food was excellent, the portions were more than generous, and we look forward to visiting again! Maybe we may actually make it to the dessert menu which looked amazing too. To start we ordered a half order of onion rings to share and there were 4 giant rings with the lightest, crispiest batter you’ve ever tasted. They are so good you don’t need a dipping sauce but they do have a variety to choose from. My guest ordered a pork dish with garlic butter pasta and asparagus and stated it perfectly prepared.

Went here for a birthday dinner with my family. We ate outside and there was quite a crazy amount of flys. I noticed their garbage wasn’t too far away from where we sat and that pretty much explained why. So that was pretty annoying. Again going to mention we sat outside right? My sister and her husband had just come back from their honeymoon and so he has on a pair of hawaii shorts that were pretty darn expensive. literally irreplaceable shorts. he was getting up to leave and the metal chair ripped his new shorts. not to be a Karen or anything but taking 20$ off a bill to excuse the fact of a faulty chair is kinda lame. The server i’m sure, has nothing to do with that. she was nice and felt bad. she took the chair away to get rid of. Just sad about the shorts yanno? anyways.. This photo is the MAHI fish tacos. blah. wasn’t expecting this really. so they were alright. nothing special for 15$ Mac n cheese was alright. again, nothing really special.
Audrey G — Google review
Decided to finally try this place. I was not disappointed! The artichoke dip is cheesy and creamy. The burger is full of flavor in every bite. My ma loved the fried walleye and chips. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They didn't rush us and was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful spot on the river for a drink, a meal, or live music. The food has been so good every time we go there. They don’t have beer on tap only in a can. The servers have always been kind as well.

They have a great outdoor patio space. The food was pretty good and cheap. You can get good daily specials if you play it right. The service was kind and the atmosphere of the patio was wonderful with the music they were playing.

5 star view but easily 1 star food. My wife and I came in on a Thursday afternoon for some fish tacos. They were 14$ for 2 medium sized tacos with fried haddock which was cold that came with a side of tortilla chips that were also cold. Overall what was most disappointing was the small portions, cold food, 4$ fee for using a credit card, and charging 3$ for a soda water. Seems cheap and greedy and ultimately just a touristy spot.

Our waitresses name was Jane. So I tacked on Anderson. Jane Anderson started out with zero stars and worked away all the way up to five! Service was awesome The nachos were huge and tasted fantastic! The plastic beer glasses or something to come back for! Next time I'll bring my own glass 🙂 thank you Jane for the memorable experience at PD Pappy's. We will definitely return for the service!

Service was excellent! Sloppy Joes were very good as well. Cocktails were just okay. Only real problem is the flies. You really need to look into some way to mitigate this issue- maybe the bag devices they use at horse stables and such... It was bad.

Meister's Bar & Grill is a charming local establishment that specializes in German-inspired dishes and refreshing beverages. This tavern offers a cozy ambiance, serving cold draft beers, cocktails, burgers, and pub grub. The burgers are delectable, cooked to perfection without overwhelming portion sizes. The buns are soft and flavorful while the French fries boast high quality and freshness with their fresh-cut appearance.
Best burger I’ve ever had in my life! I’ll never forget the first time I had one of these as a teenager and I crave it still today in my 30’s. I’ve been a chef for over 20 years and this is easily the best burger I have ever had. The Burgermeister add fried onions. Customer service is also a 10. Not many places left like this.
Adam W — Google review
Well.... we read all the reviews and that the burgers were Michelin 5 star. And the cash, no credit policy, so we came prepared. I'm not a snob, really. I love authentic local joints with great service and food. But this was not great on either one. We entered and grabbed an open booth. Waited 5 minutes, no acknowledgement or server to our table. They looked at us once or twice then went to other tables. Finally I got up and picked up menus at the front and sat back down. The two women waitstaff looked at me again a few times and ignored us! Totally awful. I was ready to leave but my wife convinced me to go try two seats at the bar. We got up and carried our menus to the bar and finally got service! The bartender was friendly and greeted us. Our food came fast and he was quick to get us some beers (frosty beer glasses were a nice touch). But the food was really basic. Just bar food, not bad, not outstanding. The cheese curds are a pass for me. I might be barred from entering again by writing this honest review but I'm sharing honest feedback. The waitstaff need to get a class in customer service.

We have always drove by this spot and finally had the opportunity to stop in and I’m glad we did! The meisterburger was delicious and the fresh cut fries were even better! Our server was very fun and friendly and the atmosphere was great! There are lots of things on their menu that I want to come back and try! If you’re in the area - it’s worth the stop! You won’t regret it!

10/22/25 11:30am. Great service. Waitress came over right away and said I'll be right with you and she was and gave us a little time to study the menu and came back we play store order everything went perfectly. I know this bar staff was very friendly too the one we left we heard people saying thank you and come again. We had chicken fingers, a hamburger and deep fried mushrooms and the mushrooms were perfectly done and larger portion then other similar restaurants offer. Just like I remember 40 years ago when I was in college and we ordered them. A bonus was only left, two unique old Volkswagens parked outside. Unique restrooms with shag carpeting on the door and ceilings. A nice quiet friendly place even though it was somewhat busy. Parking on the street so you may have to walk a little bit.
Plainsman 5 — Google review
I mean the atmosphere and ambience of this place is why you come! God I love a bar/restaurant with carpet on the walls and potentially on the ceiling. This is a German bar serving American food but mannnnn their burger with kraut slapped. They also have Hefeweißen on tap which is sort of unheard of at bars in Minnesota. Staff was so friendly too! This is a place to stop in for a beer or 2 or 3 and stay for some yummy apps. Loved it and will be back again!
Nicole F — Google review
A Stillwater Institution! If they gave out a Michelin Star for neighborhood tavern cheeseburgers this would be the place! Unpretentious neighborhood bar in business for 75 years. We don't live near here but we show up for birthdays and special occasions since the burgers are that good! The Burgermeister is where it's at. It's the best. Always have to have that with the fried mushrooms appetizer. Any place that has carpet on the interior walls inside the bathrooms is okay with me. Bring cash! They don't take plastic , but they do have an ATM in case you come unprepared.
CC A — Google review
My wife and I ordered mesiter burgers and fries. Food was incredible. They really load up the bacon on the meister burgers! Fries had a little bit of skin on them and were fried nice and crispy. Our waitress was very nice and had refills for us before we even had to ask. If you're ever in Stillwater you definitely need to eat here
David H — Google review
This is a great, cozy neighborhood bar/restaurant. The burger was delicious, perfectly cooked and not too large (I like burgers that are not oversized as it leaves room for beer!). The bun was soft and tasty as well. The French fries were great quality, looked fresh cut. The inside has a nice atmosphere and makes you feel warm even when it's freezing outside! JFK also famously visited this place! Parking is fine, there is a teeny lot or street parking which is easy. Oh, it is cash only which is a little annoying but if you know ahead of time it's okay.

Mon Petit Cheri – Stillwater is a charming cafe located in downtown Stillwater, MN. This cozy spot offers a delectable selection of house-baked pastries, hot breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, and soups. The bakery and kitchen are known for their award-winning pastries and delightful brunch options. In addition to the delicious food offerings, patrons can also enjoy coffee, beer, and wine. The atmosphere is described as amazing with holiday decorations creating a joyful ambiance.
This place is smack dab in the middle of Downtown Stillwater, MN. The vibe and service were top-notch. I’ve read great things about the coffee here, and I totally get why. My Pistachio white mocha was to die for! I also tried their Nutella roll and Quiche with meat. The Quiche took about 5-10 minutes to make, and the coffee was ready in 10-15 minutes. They were a bit busy, but I didn’t mind. It was nice to stay warm indoors. Since it’s downtown, they have street parking (parallel parking).

We ordered 2 farmers breakfast, beignets and 2 coffee drinks, our total was 60. The food was decent but not worth the price. The bacon was really good. Eggs and potatoes were nothing special of note. My chai had great cinnamon but not much of any other flavor. The beignets were a total let down- they were a heavy fried bread with a dusting of powdered sugar. The bread options provided some redemption as both our sourdough and the rosemary biscuit were delightful with the jam served. Seating is first come first serve with not a lot of options so you may need to take an order to go.
Jennifer T — Google review
We stopped in hoping they had a vegan option. No vegan baked goods but we were so impressed with the counter help. She said that one of the side dishes is already completely vegan so we ordered that, a zucchini, carrot and lentil hash- it was delightful. Excellent flavor and a healthy way to start the day. We also ordered a dirty chai and the employee said she would make it by hand (without complaints) because the mix they use has dairy. It was really thoughtful and delicious. Atmosphere is adorable. Great location downtown Stillwater

I have been here multiple times and had 2 very different experiences. The first time, there was little to no line, the staff were friendly, and the food came out fast. The last time I was there, I was with someone who had a peanut allergy. When they asked if anything was peanut free, the staff said “I think it is” and then did not double check with anyone and was very uncertain. They decided not to get anything, because the staff could not 100% confirm it was peanut free, which was a disappointment after waiting in line for 25 minutes. The food is good, but it would be nice to have more transparency about allergens in the food.

My cousin, Donna, told me (!) that we have to go to Mon Petite Cheri in Stillwater, Minnesota! Mon Petite Cheri had a nice choice of food, baked goods and pastries. We had a ham and cheese croque monsieur and a cheesy jalapeño roll. Both yummy. Cortado for each us rounded out a nice brunch. Mon Petite Cheri was busy and the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Stillwater is a beautiful destination Village on the St. Croix river. It is a charming town with great food, fun atmosphere and antique and secondhand store shopping. Not necessarily what I personally want to do, but I know that my wife, Shari, would love it. The waterfront is ideal for strolling and viewing across the river to Wisconsin. The vertical lift bridge dates back about 95 years and is now a pedestrian walkway. The whole area is quite picturesque.

Me and a lady I know every time we meet for coffee go here. We absolutely love this place. They are so sweet and so welcoming. I wish they had more room for more seating (but that’s just downtown Stillwater for you) it no matter what we will always come here. I recommend it to everyone I know. It is by far the best coffee shop in downtown Stillwater that I would spend my time at. Love them so so much!!!❤️❤️❤️

Best breakfast and lunch spot in stillwater with great food and reasonably priced. Always clean and friendly. I've only had one order mix up but it was still good even though it wasn't what I ordered. Depending on what time you go it can be really busy so make sure its a leisurely stop.
S. J — Google review
Very disappointing breakfast here. Brioche French toast was dry (obviously not soaked at all), breakfast sandwich was all bread and no flavor, Farmer’s breakfast was sad and basic—potatoes lacked personality and were bland—needed crisping. The only bright spot was the lemon blueberry scone. After a $100 breakfast for 5 people (plus the 20% tip) you’re expected to bus your own table. Skip this place.

Emma our server went above & beyond to give us a wonderful experience this Holiday season! I went with my daughter we ordered the deep fried tortellini & chicken wings during happy hour… with a couple extremely chilled beers & a bubbly Prosecco for me it was a perfect combo! We each threw in $20 for pull tabs for a win of $116… it was a win/ win all around! I highly suggest stopping at Gio’s for either apps or dinner! The bar was exactly what you would expect in the newly renovated downtown Stillwater building! Old school meets new school! Its a must stop🥂

This place is amazing! We were greeted immediately and dealt with very politely and quickly. The waiter (never caught her name) was very nice and checked up on us frequently. The place was empty, which was surprising. The Shrimp Scampi that I specifically had was amazing! The noodles were buttery and seasoned perfectly! The shrimp was amazing and the size of it was perfect. The other dishes that my party had were all loved. We would definitely come back when in the area.

We ate dinner here this evening and it was wonderful. The pretzel bites were good but the cheese dip with them was a little spicy. I got a pulled pork sandwich with bacon and Mac & cheese on it with a side of coleslaw and it was delicious. The prices are fair. The service was excellent. We took our time there and we were out in 45 minutes. The restroom was clean. The parking was easy.

Overall, I very much enjoyed Muddy Cow. The server was great, and the environment was clean and well put together. I was surprised by the amount of food options, and it appeared they have a lot of drink deals throughout the week. The Reuben was very good, along with the Dilly Fries and Duck Wontons. I do wish the patty on the burger was bigger, which was really flavorful, but not a lot of substance. I'm definitely coming back to explore the rest of the menu and deals!

Had an early dinner on a Saturday late afternoon. Plenty of room when we arrived and was seat yourself. Lots of good menu options, and a very nice drink selection. Service was very good and would recommend a visit. If your a sports fan plenty of good seats to keep an eye on the game.

Nice clean atmosphere. Surprised when I got 2 for 1 cocktails! Fried pickles were great, never had them cut that way. Big hog sandwich tip-leave the Bacon off. It distracted from the tender juicy pulled pork. Mine had a big piece of thick fat in it as well. Also, the table wasn't cleared of empty dishes very well. Kind of stacked up with three people. Overall not bad Sunday lunch place
Amy B — Google review
Food and atmosphere were good! However, it seemed as if our server lacked attention to detail. We ordered one spicy Bloody Mary and was given 2 spicy margaritas. After being given our correct drink request, we were then informed of their special 2 for 1 drinks- would have rather been informed of their deals beforehand. Following that our food came out incorrectly with extra toppings on the burger that weren’t requested. After being dissatisfied with our service, we just requested a discount for the burger instead of having it remade.

Party of ten was sat by the bathroom which reeked of sewer gasses and backup. Asked if we could get a bag of cheeseballs for our inconvenience, the waitress laughed and said they are good! Had a two year old with us and almost everyone felt like barfing. No attempt was even made to offer a discount or free item. Poor customer service all around, staff said owner was contacted and would get someone out there in the am! Staff could have easily shut down the women's restroom for the evening and posted a sign to use the men's room, but nope! Won't be back!

The Devil's Advocate Stillwater offers a pleasant ambiance and a diverse menu selection. The food is of high quality, with the Brussels sprouts and grain bowl (served with salmon) being particularly delicious. Despite some minor confusion in placing an order, this can be attributed to the server's efforts in managing numerous tables. Moreover, they provided a discount on the bill, demonstrating their commitment to customer satisfaction. This positive experience encourages a return visit to explore other items on the menu.
Really flavorful food. Great portions for the sides of brussels sprouts and truffle fries. I had some lovely and flavorful shrimp and broccoli Alfredo, and my mom had the beef tips! My mom and I had a great time here! The service was great, people were extremely friendly.

Swung by at 5pm on a Sunday and had to check that we were open, as the parking lot was very empty. We got two appetizers and a pizza. The appetizers were absolutely delicious, out of this world spectacular!! The pizza we got was Elote Pizza and it should have been called Sweet Corn Pizza as it didn't taste anything like Elote. We had to drown it in red pepper flakes & Parmesan cheese to get it to semi resemble Elote. The service was less than ideal, although our waitress was very nice, she forgot to give us menus and often disappeared for long stretches, it took WAY too long to get our check. We got dessert, the Devil's Food Cake and it was WAY too rich! If it had half as much icing it would have been much better!! Overall I would go back as the apps we had were absolutely perfection!! (Steak tips & brussel sprouts)

Never been here before. Needed a nice late Sunday dinner. Signature cocktails were great. Had the beet salad, black and blue burger and the big meatball. Really good.

We visited tonight for the first time and I really appreciated the macabre decor. Great theme (unless that kind of thing offends you). I had the Korean BBQ chicken sandwich and it was outstanding. The garlic mashed potatoes were a little heavy for me. My wife had their prusciutto and mozzarella pizza and it was ok. Good tap beer selection. We also had the beet bruschetta and it was tasty, and different than most other bruschetta. Bathrooms were very clean and the art is fun to look at. Great decor and the service was excellent.
Adam W — Google review
This was our first time here and it won't be our last for sure! The decor is awesome! Think speakeasy or like a library with dark wood and soft lights. We happened to be there at happy hour (3-5pm) and enjoyed getting to choose from a large happy hour food and drink menu. We started with apps. We ordered the parmesan bread sticks with marinara dipping sauce. I thought they were just ok, but the other 3 people in our party loved them! We also had the brussel sprouts. And we all thought those were very good and a lot of them. Both sides were easily on their own enough for a party of 4. For the entrees, I ordered the mozzarella stuffed jumbo meatball over fat spaghetti noodles with marinara sauce. That was scrumptious! Loved it!!! Couldn't even finish half of it! My husband had the happy hour lasagna. Oh my goodness that was so so good! My friend had the steak baguette sandwich with a side Cesar salad that she said was wonderful and stuffed with tons of steak. We split chocolate cake and key lime pie for dessert. The cake was yummy and the pie was just so so. Not much pucker power. Just kind of bland. Nice service by Derek. We had to wave him over a couple of times because he was talking with other co-workers. But he was sweet and overall did a good job. Just young and maybe new to serving. He'll get there💜 I did take a good look at their non happy hour prices and I thought they were pretty high. But I guess prices are going up everywhere. Still, I'll go there during happy hour.

Want to avoid the hassle of downtown Stillwater but still enjoy a top notch meal? You've come to the right place. Devil's Advocate serves up cocktails and food worthy of downtown, but is at an easy to get to location right on Hwy 36. We enjoyed excellent drinks and really flavorful food. Service was friendly and fast from the moment we stepped in to the minute we left. Highly recommend; I will be returning soon. Pictures say the rest.

We ordered take-out because we had heard the pizza was great. We called it in and were told 20 min and got there in 25 minutes. The pizza wasn't ready, and we had to wait another 15 minutes. I was a little annoyed, but it gave me time to look around in the restaurant when it was dead. I love the atmosphere in there with the fire pit that has fake smoke, the ladder behind the bar to get to the top shelf liquor, and even the little gift shop of spices shirts and glasses they have. Overall, pizza was just like everyone says it is impressive. I was definitely going to make my way back because the menu looks great, and with the outdoor seating, it will make for a fantastic summer dinner spot.

Let’s call it a 4.5. Walked in and got seated right away. Server was good but kind of slow. Food came pretty quick and it was delicious. The pizza I would say is probably the best in the area, nice thin, chewy crust. Close to New York style pizza. Will definitely go back.

I love this little eclectic place!! Do you want old fashioned WONDERFUL buns? They are soooo good here! You’ve GOT to try the hamburger and brat buns!! Their monster cookies? You might have to fight me for the last bag. They have wonderful cheese there, and jalapeño beef sticks, and a lovely little deli. Are you looking for a special grilling spice rub or sauce? They have sooooo many! The steaks are good here too! The only thing that I don’t love here is their chicken- For some reason, I just can tell that they inject it with something, and it makes their chicken rubbery (?) for lack of a better description. Not my favorite. HOWEVER…. Everything else is fantastic, and it’s tiny, but worth your time!!!

Good old fashioned butcher shop and a small well-appointed store. My husband loves that you can order the thickness of the bacon that you would like. That said, no matter the thickness, their bacon is delectable!

Besides getting meat straight from the farm this is a close second. Frequent buyers of the Chicago all beef hot dogs and the 85% lean ground beef. The staff are amazing, helpful and wonderful to chit chat with on the slower days. Love the local produce and supporting local! 🌽🍉

At Xelas by El Sazon, you’re invited to dive into the rich tapestry of Mayan cuisine, expertly crafted by Chef Cristian De Leon. This restaurant is a true homage to Guatemalan and Mexican culinary traditions, showcasing bold flavors and heartfelt memories through its thoughtfully curated menu. Every aspect of your dining experience is meticulously designed—from the vibrant presentation of dishes to the use of fresh, whole ingredients that leave you feeling nourished and satisfied.
Have been very eager to try to this place and it did not disappoint! I am gluten free and was very happy with the amount of options I had here, including desserts. The alcoholic drinks were excellent and very different compared to other places serving the same type. Ex: a margarita here isn’t loaded with sugar and premixed. Theirs was very light and refreshing with a decent amount of alcohol. We only had one appetizer which was the guacamole with pork belly and WOW. Delicious. As for the main entrees, our group ate every single last thing on our plates. The flavor combos were outstanding and we left full, but not to a point of being uncomfortable. We got 2 orders of the churros which were light and fluffy, and the chocolate cake. The cake was fruity and sweet but just the right amount of chocolate too. For someone who is from Guatemala, this place felt very special, authentic, and welcoming. Please give this place a try and support small local businesses.

From the outside, this place doesn’t look like much—it’s tucked into a strip mall—but don’t let that fool you. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm, stylish space decorated with beautiful Mayan artwork that really sets the atmosphere. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish felt thoughtful and unique, showcasing flavors you don’t often find elsewhere. Our servers were wonderful—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, taking time to explain each dish and its origins. The cocktail menu is huge and creative. I tried one served in a large pineapple-shaped glass topped with a salted foam, and it was just as fun to look at as it was delicious to drink. Overall, this restaurant is a true hidden gem. Incredible food, impeccable service, and an inviting ambiance—I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

First time in and we LOVED it! If I could give more than five stars, I would. The atmosphere was nice and they have done a lot to dress up the building. Cristian provided an unforgettable dining experience by walking us through the various dishes, explaining the combining of Guatemalan food and culture with Minnesota. We felt like VIP’s from the moment we walked in as the whole staff was incredible. All that said, the food was the star here! Everything we ordered was as good or better than the last and it was a phenomenal value getting the three course meal. This isn’t just the best Guatemalan food in the area, it’s some of the best food in general. If you are anywhere near Stillwater, you are missing out if you’re not regularly visiting Xelas!

We had a fabulous meal here. The drinks were fantastic, the beef tenderloin delicious, the guacamole was excellent, and we liked our rhubarb dessert and tres leches cake. We will definitely come back.

I’d give 100 stars if it was possible! Our dinner at Xelas by El Sazón was an unforgettable dining experience. Their new fall menu is incredible! Every dish truly feels rooted in Mayan culture and is crafted with so much care. The flavors are bold, layered, and deeply satisfying. The cocktails were just as impressive: creative, balanced, and beautifully paired with the food. Service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed. From the atmosphere to the art on the walls, everything about the night felt intentional and full of heart. I’ll definitely be back soon!

The chef's table tasting menu was fantastic! They were able to accommodate no dairy for me and every course was paired with non alcoholic drinks for me as well (n/a rums, and liquors as well as traditionally inspired n/a beverages that were sophisticated and unique). The curation and attention to detail from the bespoke blue and yellow corn tortillas (so flavorful) to the combinations of traditional and innovative inspirations that created each of the 8 courses makes this hands down my favorite Mayan cuisine restaurant. Will be going back as the new tasting menu begins next week. Highly highly recommended. Chef Christan and mixologist Zoilo have outdone themselves!

Forge and Foundry Distillery is a must-visit craft distillery located in historic main street Stillwater. Run by the husband and wife team Andrew & Christie, this spot offers a range of locally produced spirits including vodka, rum, and whiskey. The on-site tasting room serves up an array of signature cocktails as well as classic drinks and non-alcoholic options. Guests can enjoy their drinks indoors or opt for outdoor seating along the street or on the rooftop patio with views of the Lift Bridge.
We got drinks here on a Sunday afternoon. The drinks are unique and delicious. The service is quick. The prices are fair for the area. The patio on the 2nd floor is a fun spot to sit and watch people and see the river. We enjoy coming here.

We discovered this place tonight when walking on the street. Very nice place, greatly decorated with modern stools and chairs. Lighting is very good. So overall great atmosphere and a nice place to stop to have drinks and you can also buy the cocktail kits for home. I believe summer should be also cool as their patio faces to the river. We were full and already had alcohol so tried zero proof old fashioned and it was great!

Cool place. The drinks are AMAZING! Main level and bar is nice. We decided to check out upstairs deck. I am glad did. Beautiful view and lots of seating. No food but you can buy their liquor. Plus, they sell the kits to make their specialty drinks at home. What a great idea!!!

Nice indoor bar, seating; copper & white sunny atmosphere, people and patio. Deck overlooking St Croix River and Lift Bridge view. Distillery can make almost any drink non-alcoholic, and have root-beers, soda, etc. Relaxing environment.

Came after picnicking on the shore line. Lizzie, Justin and Andrew (owner) were absolutely awesome. From the amazing drinks that were served to the excellent customer service. We were able to try a few experiments that were still in the process and just talk about the distillery. Lizzie taught me more about drinking the correct way in five minutes than I've ever known. Definitely a must visit spot in Stillwater. If you're going, grab a " wake me up before you go girl", dang. It's good, you won't be disappointed. Also, cool patio area overlooking the river.

Husband and wife team Andrew & Christie's new distillery, Forge & Foundry, is a perfect addition to historic main street Stillwater. After a warm greeting in the modern, minimalist bar by Christie, my Minnesota Mule was hand delivered and couldn't be better, a perfectly tart, slightly sweet drink for a weekend afternoon. Andrew is personable and friendly, an engaging conversationalist even as he's climbing all around the shining new stills, already preparing the next round of spirits. The new equipment positively gleams in the space, the chrome and copper abounds in a magical blend of the distiller's craft. But the secret for those looking for a more natural view is what is probably the best deck in Stillwater, elevated and overlooking the lift bridge and the bluffs, it is a space not to be missed. I hope you get the chance to give this great, family run addition to Stillwater a try as soon as you are able.

Thor's Hard Cider, located in Stillwater, MN near the St. Croix River, offers a rustic yet modern setting and an impressive variety of hard ciders to suit every palate. The ciders are made from locally-grown apples with no preservatives at Aamodts Apple Farm. Visitors can enjoy a flight of ciders and even try unique flavors like jalapeno cider.
Came to a women's event here and had a ball. The knowledge they have about wine is amazing! We tried a number of different options and got to tour the vineyard. I learned so much in such a short time. We bought flights and snacks while we were there and enjoyed the local selections. A must visit if you're anywhere near here.
Luv J — Google review
Stopped in to try the different ciders. We tried the flight with all of their ciders. They were all so good. The person helping us was knowledgeable and kind. I definitely recommend stopping in.
Jenna C — Google review
Our visit to Thor's Hard Cider was a delightful detour during a trip from Wisconsin to Minneapolis. The location, nestled in a charming, secluded area, was a pleasant surprise. We arrived at 11 a.m. on a Sunday and were amazed by the bustling crowd already gathered. The inviting atmosphere made our impromptu stop a joyful one. The sprawling outdoor space was filled with families and groups of friends, creating an ambiance of camaraderie. Adding to the scenic view were the rows of what seemed to be vineyards in the distance, which provided a tranquil backdrop to the lively setting. We decided to go for their Hard Cider flight and it turned out to be an exciting exploration of flavors. Not all the offerings aligned with our taste, but it did help us discover our favorites, making the experience worthwhile. For those seeking variety and a chance to discover something new, Thor's flights are a must-try. The place also appeared to host live music events, which must contribute to a vibrant atmosphere in the evenings. We also noted it as a kid-friendly spot, as there was ample outdoor space for children to frolic around. Do keep in mind that they do not offer lunch, something we had originally planned for. However, the diverse selection of Hard Cider more than compensated for that. If you find yourself in the area, Thor's Hard Cider should definitely be on your to-do list for a unique, outdoorsy experience and a chance to savor some great cider.
Baibhav B — Google review
While this cidery doesn't have the variety of ciders akin to Sociable or Minneapolis, it has an atmosphere all it's own. Located next to a winery, the open land sporting a lot of tree cover outside of the tap room is a great place for get together for friends and families. The bright, easy flavors of the ciders and outdoor space reminded me of Cider Factorie in Te Puna, NZ. Each cider is drinkable and offers something different, but not too bold. Their ciders have a broad appeal, even for the occasional or non-cider drinker. Plus, of all else fails, there's wine right next door.
Brit L — Google review
Matt was a wonderful bartender! We also loved his playlist! The Ginger and the semi sweet ciders were our favorites!
Gabby — Google review
Pretty cool tasting room. I hadn't tried ciders until stopping here, but this place made me realize I should. The Jalapeno Cilantro was delicious and aromatic. You could really smell the cilantro.
Brian R — Google review
Nice open farm with a seasonal bar attached to the apple shop. During the apple season the restaurant and bar aren't open but they have trailers outside serving food and cider. Very family friendly and gets pretty busy on nice days. Excellent cider and tons of apple-based baked goods, jams, etc.
Greg W — Google review
Overall, ciders were pretty sweet. Maybe one tart cider. We tried all 12 in a flight. If you're looking for sweet, not tart or dry, then this is the place for you. Lots of other none cider/alcoholic items for purchase too, like meat sticks, apple butter, jams, honey comb, etc. Wine tasting next door. Coffee and jalapeño/cilantro/lime ciders were interesting. If you're like my wife, perhaps too difficult to overcome.

Not sure why there’s other reviews that are so bad, this place was good! Expensive yes but if you want cheap then there’s dive bars elsewhere in Stillwater. I will say the other reviews are right about service being slow, they really need to have more frequent contact with their tables. Otherwise, it’s a cool space and we really did like the cocktails!

Drinks were okay, pricey but expected. The service was awful and so ridiculously slow. Not overly busy and several bartenders.

5 friends and I came here for my birthday after going to the Brick and Bourbon and being treated like our large group was a burden to add to their list. The Long Goodbye staff were all SO happy, professional, and helpful. The food and cocktails were amazing! The Skipper & The Golden Locks of Lorelai cocktails were strong, unique, and a perfect combination of flavors. They gave us a free appetizer that they "made too much of" :) and I had the quail as an entree. The quail was extremely small, but incredibly flavorful. GO - You will not be disappointed!

Great atmosphere, but their service is horrible and we will not go back. When we walked in they were not very busy in either the bar or the restaurant and had 3 bartenders working. The manager acknowledged us and we thought we were going to get service, then he walked past us a couple times, then we asked if we could order something and he said "I'll be right with you", and finally after waiting 20 minutes he noticed we were leaving and he offered to buy a round. We ended up leaving and definitely will not return. We noticed that other tables had also not been served and have heard similar complaints from other people.

This was a great little place. We got 3 smalls and 1 dinner. The walley dumplings were amazing. Best dish we had. Sauce is buttery and slight acidity. Soooooo good. No fishy taste, sweet potato was mild and just left hint of sweet to balance flavors as well as hint of pepper flakes. Duck was well cooked on a wonton chip, this was not great. It was heavy, which duck is so that was expected, however it needed more greens to cut the fattiness of this dish. Something to brighten it up. Also it was heavy in Chinese 5 spice, which I do not love and that ended up being the predominant flavor which left the rest of the flavors lost behind that. The empanada was great. Another great plate, gooey cheese with tender meat, nice mango chutney was crispy and not heavy, so it was fried right. Would get this again as well. Finally got blackened scallops. These were good. Not great. We enjoy scallops, cook and order often. These were cooked perfect. The reduction sauce was delicious and worth dipping in. We subbed out risotto over noodles which was good. Made well. Not something I would say stood out at all though. Good plate, but would not remember it later unlike the walley dumplings which are now in my dreams. Dessert we got the Chocolate Truffle Cake. Now I do not love chocolate cakes, if you do this is worth getting. The texture shows the amazing skill the chef has because it was light and melt in your mouth without hitting the cake texture nor did it hit the density of a fudgy brownie. Simply perfect texture and again if u are a chocolate person get it! I would love to replicate this dish simply to learn how to make it so delicate.

Wonderful service. The server was incredibly sweet and on top of everything. She even noticed when our waters were low and refilled them immediately. My family and I came here at night. I ordered the Belgian waffle and I was surprised that I didn't receive any whip because in the photo it showed it and I wasn't going to ask. You do have to order anything like sausages or bacon on the side as well (It does not come with the waffle). My children had the spaghetti. For me personally I felt like the flavors were lacking though it definitely is comfort food and a great place to spend time with the family, they even have menus for the children to color. They also have a display of pie. There is TVs here for sports ( if one enjoys that ).

I moved about 45 minutes away so I only get it once every couple years now unless I can con family into bringing it for the holidays. We were passing through yesterday so I told my husband to stop I haven’t had a good French silk pie in a couple years.. we picked one up to go and I was in shock when I saw this pie after the cook put the whip cream on it!!!! I couldn’t help but to just laugh and laugh!! I had NEVER after YEARS received a pie that looks this sad from Joseph’s!!! How disappointing!! A $30 pie should NOT look like this!! I’m glad it was not for any special occasion this time!!😳😳 I gave 2 stars because it still tasted good!

Started with the waleye bites, it was more of a meal than an appetizer. It’s not bites, it’s like an order of fish and chips. There was so much batter and it was very greasy. I ordered the meatloaf and my advice is to skip it. It did not taste like meatloaf. It tasted more like a salisbury steak, the texture was off. It was firm, as if it was frozen then cooked on a flat top grill. I asked if it was homemade and the manager said it was. I highly doubt it, meatloaf should be fluffy and meaty not like it came from a microwaveable tv dinner. Hard pass. (Cracker barrel has better meatloaf than they do) My husband ordered the turkey dinner and that was alright. Mash potatoes were probably the best out of all the plates. I came in starving and left wanting to go to the wendy’s beside them. Not worth the price. My biggest pet peeve is eating somewhere and leaving so dissatisfied that I feel robbed. Our fault though because the biggest red flag was the empty parking lot on a Sunday during lunch hour.

We were craving some Thai food and decided to stop in here for dinner. We were seated right away at around 5:30, but by the time we left it got much busier. We shared the pork egg rolls which were great, a bit on the greasy side. For the main course, I had the Chicken Red Curry with a spice level of 4 out of 5. It was quite a bit spicer than expected and I eat spicy food on a daily basis, so definitely go lighter on the spice level if you're not into sweating while eating. My wife had the chicken broccoli dish, which was decent. Wish we could have had fried rice instead of white rice with our dish, but they didn't allow substitutions. Overall, pretty good Thai food.

Good and various levels of spicy according to what you want. Lots of choices of good food. Staff are very nice and attentive. Great place to eat for families and friends. Nice atmosphere and plenty of seating and space.

Got Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles with beef. They were a bit understaffed, so there was a wait. But oh boy, was that worth the wait. If you are unsure of what to get, get the drunken noodles. I normally don’t like crunchy onions, but even those were amazing by themselves. Everything tasted great!!! Edit: it’s been a few months and I’m still thinking about the drunken noodles.

Such a open and inviting place. We were able to keep our distance as we desired. It was busy on Thursday but amazing photo ops! Organized parking and on their campgrounds area in Summerset,WI.

I drove 30 minutes to this restaurant just for their wontons and Grilled Chicken (under the Thai Basil Specialties list) dishes. They are DELICIOUS. I would move to Stillwater just to be close to Thai Basil. I've been craving the Grilled Chicken dish ever since I first had it when I visited Stillwater 2 years ago. Also tried the Lychee Mimosa here and that was pretty good too. Love this place.

Washington was our server and he was absolutely fantastic. We had three choices as vegan dishes, I am usually only accustomed to one choice. Which already makes me happy when I have that. Very accommodating, Food is fantastic

Victoriano's Pizza is a delightful gem in Stillwater, MN, where pizza lovers can indulge in oversized NYC-style slices and classic pies. This no-frills counter service spot prides itself on using fresh, local ingredients to create authentic New York and Sicilian pizzas from scratch. The legendary crust and rich sauce are complemented by friendly staff who go the extra mile to enhance your dining experience with unique toppings like a spicy pepper blend.
During my initial stroll down Main Street as a first time visitor with NYC roots, I beelined for this pizzeria! I was beyond impressed by the authenticity; and reveled in the tastiest slice of my MN life. Owner Amy was especially warm, and generous in extending an abundant garlic knot taste test that rocked our palates! Kara Leigh from TPA will be returning with a tummy churning for more!

A very solid NY style pizza. Fresh ingredients that played with each other great. Pepperoni was great although the cook could of been a little better. Another minute in the oven would of been perfect. The crust could be a better. Eats more like a cracker crust and less of a pull. Our experience was thrown off by the grumpy old guy behind the counter. Did not greet and just gave us a dead stare. Almost like he didn't want us there. 10 minutes later a group of younger ladies comes in and he's a whole different person. Smiles and hands on service. A great pizza ruined by a grumpy person behind the counter. Not worth going back if you get the feeling your not welcomed there.

Plenty of topping options and a really good crust that’s light but flavorful. I tried the All Meats and the GEM, both were excellent. This is true New York–style pizza, and they even sell it by the slice, which makes it easy to grab one and walk around downtown Stillwater. Seating is outdoors only, so plan on takeout if the weather isn’t great. Don’t skip the house-made ranch, it’s one of a kind and pairs perfectly with the pizza.
Barry J — Google review
I've been on a bit of a pizza hiatus after spending some time in New York but the pizza craving kicked in this week, and I landed here at Victorianos. I usually start with a plain cheese slice to get a baseline but for some reason, I just dove right into toppings land yesterday. The case had 4 different slices in it if I remember correctly: cheese, pepperoni, sausage/onion and mushroom/onion/spinach. I ordered two slices since I was quite hungry! My first slice had mushrooms, onions, and spinach. It had a good amount of toppings evenly coating the pizza, the cheese was delicious and it was reheated well! Even though it was a larger slice with a little flop, it still had a really nice crispy bottom and the exterior crust was crispy and chewy! I couldn’t really distinguish any flavors from the sauce but this was my favorite of the two. My second slice had sausage and onions. This one wasn't reheated as well since the cheese was a bit stiff, the toppings were a bit scarce and the crust wasn’t as crispy. I think this one could’ve spent a little longer in the oven and used a little more sausage on it. However, for the price of $5 a slice and a welcoming atmosphere, I would say I was satisfied with my experience. I would definitely return here in the future for more slices or a whole pie since they had some intriguing looking creations! I was eyeing up their tiramisu in the fridge as well which I could easily see myself buying next time. It looked like the owners were working alongside the staff slinging pies which I always love to see in the restaurant industry.

Seriously good NY style pizza. We ordered 2 pizzas online, the Fats and the LCDT (which is a summer only pizza). BIG on flavor! Go get you some!
Lance — Google review
Order a pizza and had it brought across the street...Perhaps this would be a good opportunity to coach the staff on how to carry a pizza. At least we know gravity still works today. Luckily the bartender used some sort of scraper to save it for us so we didn't have to make it a canzone. It tasted good, so there is that. Perhaps next time put a level on top with the plates and napkins for safety reasons.
Bootleg — Google review
My number 1 NY style pizza spot, big thin crispy slices. One bite everybody knows the rules 8.3
Kevin J — Google review
I was told they sell New York style pizza. I was born and raised in Queens New York and I have never had great New York pizza outside New York, till now. The pizza was amazing and brought back memories of eating real pizzeria pizza on the streets of NY. Great sauce and cheese but best of all was the genuine crust. The slices were huge and to be eaten folded in half - like any self respecting east coat eater would do. This is a very causal place with limited outdoor seating. It looked like most diners get take-out. My wife and I sat at a table outside in front and enjoyed watching the Stillwater nightlife go parading by as we enjoyed our date night. I’ll go back again.

No Neck Tony's is a locally owned bar in Stillwater, MN that offers unique martinis, specialty cocktails, and a fantastic ambiance. It has been voted as the best place for Bloody Mary in the St. Croix Valley and Minnesota Monthly. The bar provides neat ambiance with mid to high tier liquor options and features fun activities like skee ball, ping pong, and pull tabs. Despite limited seating, it is known for its lively atmosphere and relatively cheap drinks served by friendly bartenders.
They have great cocktails and very friendly service, we had to stop in twice during our time in Stillwater. Highly recommend the key lime martini 🤤

Stopped by for a quick drink. They had great happy hour specials and I got to chat with a regular. 5 stars from me!

We had a fantastic time at No Neck Tony’s! I reached out to Jessica, the manager, to see if they could recreate my wedding’s signature cocktail as a surprise for my husband while we celebrated our 10-year anniversary. She was incredibly kind and even went out of her way to buy an ingredient they didn’t have on hand. The other cocktails were also excellent and the Halloween decor truly stole the show! If you're a Halloween lover like me, this place is an absolute must in October!
Anna F — Google review
The atmosphere is festive and nice. Not exactly the most spacious place, but they do well with what they have. I love the glassware! Unfortunately the service there is very lacking - the Bartenders always seem annoyed to serve. They pressure for payment immediately, with little to no conversion or warm welcome etc. Any cocktails off menu are executed poorly. Almost every time I'm there I feel like I'm bothering the bartenders and I don't feel welcome.

Small, quaint bar with wonderful martinis. The chocolate martini is my favorite. It is so smooth, like a chocolate milkshake. And it comes with a huge custom made piece of chocolate.

Very good service. Neat ambiance. Make no mistake, this is not a dive bar no matter what anyone says. Probably the nicest bathroom I've seen in any bar. Lots of mid to high tier liquor. There are decent drink deals on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Skee ball, ping ping and pull tabs.

Grand Pizza is a laid-back eatery in Stillwater that offers a variety of classic and creative pizzas, subs, and pastas for dine-in, takeout, or delivery. It's known for its Italian-style pies made with fresh ingredients. Visitors have raved about the delicious pizza options such as the Victorianos NY Style Pizza and the Lumber Jack Pizza. The restaurant has also been praised for its accommodating service, making it a delightful stop for every pizza lover.
Pizza was so good I burnt my mouth! Staff was very kind and on top of things, prices were affordable for us and they had a nice selection on their menu. The atmosphere was also very chill and definitely more our speed than some of the busier restaurants.
Eli V — Google review
Cute little corner Pizza place with the old world feel. The interior could use a serious overhaul. It felt outdated and run down. My server was excellent. Very friendly and quick. I had my standard cheese pizza and order of cheese bread that I order at most places when I'm first trying them. My theory is that if your cheese pizza sucks, it doesn't matter what toppings you put on it. Well unfortunately everything here was seriously underwhelming. Bland if I'm being completely honest. If you're going to sell pizza in a place where there are 2 other pizza places within 2 blocks of yours, it better stand out. This pizza isnt even better than the big names (pizza hut, domino's, etc...). Sorry folks but this one gets 2 thumbs down.

Loved the flavorful pizza. 8" is a perfect size for one or get 2 of different types and share. Price is very reasonable. Location is perfect and they deliver. Service was very friendly and no waiting. Super clean.

Was visiting Stillwater for the day and wanted to have some local pizza to end the day. My family and I came to the Grand Pizza! We were not disappointed! We dined in and ordered the Lumber Jack Pizza, and it was SSOOO good!! So good in fact that another family came in and saw what we ordered and also ordered the same pizza! If visiting Stillwater, give the Grand Pizza a try. You will not be disappointed!🍕

Five stars isn't enough! We ordered 15 pizzas for an event in Bayport, and we asked that they arrive in two shifts so we didn't have to worry so much about keeping them hot. The nice folks at The Grand were happy to make that happen for us! They were super kind, incredibly accommodating, and impressively prompt! They made our event super easy and wonderfully delicious! We have always thought they had the best pizza in town, but they also have the best staff!

Great food, Pizza is amazing, bread with Ceazar salad had a good crunch and taste to it, just needed a little more dressing. Waitress was kind, but the Atmosphere needs some work maybe some Italian decor and some music just my thoughts. All in all great place to dine- in..

Mongolian barbecue restaurant
Mongolian Barbeque is a buffet restaurant located in Stillwater, MN, offering a wide selection of Chinese dishes. The highlight of the restaurant is the Mongolian grill where customers can choose their own ingredients and have them prepared by the chef. Families particularly enjoy this feature as it allows kids to create their own stir-fry bowls and watch them being cooked. While some find the regular buffet offerings to be average, others appreciate the variety of dishes available.
Dined here yesterday, 2/16/25 @ around 11:30am.. the food was sooo good and flavorful.. many food items to choose from the buffet.. I ate the cream cheese wontons, tofu sweet/sour soup, General T's chicken, chicken n broccoli, satay chicken, fried rice and those were just to name a few.. there was plenty of seating.. the customer service was welcoming, friendly, and attentive.. the dining area, buffet, and bathroom was clean.. the decor was pleasing to the eye.. Plenty of parking too..it started getting really busy by the time we left around 12:30, telling me this is a popular place to get a good meal and it certainly was.. You get plenty for your buck.. well worth every penny.. I would most definitely recommend dining here.. I'll dine here again sometime.. Thank you all who served us.. Keep up the great work!!!

Absolutely Delicious! Clean restaurant, tastefully decorated. Nice sized buffet with good variety. The Chef making the hot plates was amazing. Watching him cook with one hand with those big sticks was mesmerizing. Couldn't go wrong on the price either, and the beverage is included. We'll definitely be back.

I had a great time at this Mongolian BBQ spot. The food was fresh and flavorful, with a wide selection of meats, veggies, and sauces to choose from. One of the best parts? They even had sushi available, which was a pleasant surprise and added variety to the meal. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the visit, making the experience even better. Definitely a place I’d come back to.

Their buffet offered a good variety of options, from fresh veggies and tasty meats to delicious noodles. The service was good Parking was a breeze with plenty of spaces available, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend Mongolian Barbecue! Whether you’re familiar with Mongolian cuisine or trying it for the first time, you’re in for a treat!

Brought my grandkids my two 11 year old were $17.99 paid as an adult! They don't hardly eat. Food is good but $90 for 1 adult and 5 kids ages 3-11 is just too much!

In spite of the other reviews mentioning sketchiness and warm/old food, Overall, I’d say OK. A few things were good (ice cream), a few were bad (chicken on a stick were all burnt, shrimp were not shelled), most things were average.
Joe S — Google review
Great restaurant, but too hot to enjoy when they barely use the AC, especially on a packed Sunday with a heat warning. $18/person should be enough profit to properly cool a busy restaurant. Will wait for cooler weather before considering returning.
James W — Google review
Walked in just a couple minutes before they switched from lunch to dinner. The young lady at the register rang us up for dinner prices. I asked her kindly to adjust to the right price. Then she checked the clock (3:30 pm on the dot after all the time it took) she said "now it's 3:30, I can't do that). I've eaten here for over 7 years. It's not the money that bothers me, it's the attitude problem that lost a longtime customer

Hotel Crosby is an upscale boutique hotel with 55 refined rooms and suites, offering a spa, restaurant, and rooftop hot tub. Developed by The After Midnight Group, it features another restaurant and a rooftop pool. Guests have praised the wonderful hospitality and accommodating staff at this centrally located hotel. The rooms are well-maintained and clean, while the service is exceptional. Situated on the main strip, it offers easy access to various amenities.
AMAZING SERVICE. Stayed here last night. I had requested on our reservation to have a decent view if possible, as this was a special trip. Our room was just looking out to a wall, and didn’t have a fridge or microwave & we brought quite a bit that needed both. I called to see if we could switch rooms by any chance, thinking it’s probably a long shot, and they SO KINDLY upgraded us to the most amazing room! We were SO happy! The employee even walked us our new room key up to us, in less than 3 min. We were right next to the rooftop hot tub, which we really enjoyed!! The bar was great, service was great. Room was super clean and cozy. The location is right down town and walking distance to the River and lots of stores and places to eat. We are so grateful for the upgrade and appreciate the kind gesture so much! We had a great time and will definitely be back.

I attended a wedding here last night and had such an exceptional time. I had to give some shout outs. The venue is stunning. Nothing better than being in downtown Stillwater. The space for the wedding I attended was so lovely and perfect. The meal we had and all the accompaniments were absolutely fantastic. But most of all I have to say it was the staff From the front door through the bar and restaurant through the hotel and back up stairs to our event, everyone was so kind and fun and professional. Thanks for a great evening!

I want to give a big shout out to the entire staff at hotel Crosby! I should have paid attention to specific names, but the following characterizes my experience While on business last week: Fast and friendly check-in experience Outstanding bar service, had cocktails, and dinner at the bar, my first night, and had a nightcap in the bar the second night. Bartenders both times were super knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel right at home! Food was also excellent! However, the ultimate reason for this review is the email I received the night I checked out. I left a gold chain with charm of high sentimental value in the room by mistake, and didn’t realize I had left it behind. I’m sure once I realized in the next week or so, I would’ve been kicking myself to remember where I left it! The email informed me I left it in the room and wanted me to please call them so I can get it back. I called them immediately, and they sent it via UPS to my home. I’m so thankful for the Integrity of the housekeeping staff, as I did the same thing almost 40 years ago at a hotel in Virginia Beach, let’s just say it disappeared without a trace! Thank you, hotel Crosby, I will be a repeat Guest the next time I’m in town on business!
Miguel L — Google review
We paid for a premium room which cost $450 a night. For this I was expecting a lot more than what we got. What we got was no iron, no house phone, no refrigerator, no bathroom door rather a sliding door that was difficult to move and no privacy, no closet but 3 hooks on the wall. The bed was very close to a floor air conditioner that blew cold air on me all night. Our coffee pot was broken so the clerk delivered us a pot of coffee. We paid extra for a deck which faced a brick wall and the kitchen pipe stacks on the side of our patio. The neighboring room was unoccupied so we moved over to have a “better” view of the ally, loading docks and a woodpile. My expectations were high; we might as well have saved $300 and stayed at a Super 8. If you plan on staying here insist on seeing the room first.

We have stayed at Hotel Crosby twice and both times were fantastic. It is quiet, a great location, and the hospitality is wonderful. The bar has a huge selection of scotch, whiskey, and bourbon and the manager gave my husband samples to find the right one for him which he loved. Great restaurants and shops are all within walking distance. You can’t go wrong with a stay at hotel Crosby.

Location is perfect for walking downtown and to the riverboat areas. The room is spectacular, and it's right by the rooftop hot tub. Front desk staff was also top-notch. We'll definitely be back!

The Lumberjack in Stillwater offers a diverse culinary scene, featuring shops selling spices, teas, olive oils, and cookware. The area is also home to Saras Tipsy Pies and Lift Bridge Brewing Company, known for its creative can designs that reflect the local community. Additionally, Thors Hard Cider offers infused flavors like ginger or semi-sweet apples.
The Lumberjack is a super fun and unique experience for a date night, a guys night out, or just having fun by yourself. They have axe throwing, which is what we did. It was a ton of fun and reasonably priced for a fun adventure. They also have ping pong, skee ball, darts, pinball machines, arcade games, cards, and more. They have a full bar with some great signature cocktails. The bartender was wonderful.

I was part of an unexpectedly large group with no reservations. I am thoroughly impressed with this establishment for getting us all drinks on a busy Saturday night. The drinks were tasty (and strong!), all servers and bartenders and hosts were extremely friendly, and they even stayed open 45 minutes past close because our group was having such a good time. We enjoyed all of the games available, and the food was tasty. I would love to return to try more— again, I am so impressed by the level of service, as I know a large (we’re talking like, 25 people) group with no reservations in downtown Stillwater on a Saturday is tough. Thanks for making a great night!

Went for my birthday. They were very COVID aware. We felt safe and welcome. Throwing is easy and fun the coaches are nice and understanding. The food was tasty well prepared and served hot. The Kettle chips and Aioli was a big hit. I had the Asian beef tacos and they were delicious. Parking close by and great atmosphere. I will be back!

So many thanks for Andy and the Lumberjack team for the unique experience, wonderful food, and energizing atmosphere. I came here to see my good friend Lucy of Lucy and the Seraphim play a short set, unaware the venue and therefore without expectations. Right from the moment I entered, I felt welcomed and at home. I was greeted quickly by Andy, our server, who promptly and politely brought us drinks and took our food order, providing superb service and friendly conversation throughout. I ordered the Secret Garden sandwich, as well as the Tomato Soup, which arrived just after the set, with perfect timing so we could all enjoy our meals and watch the next performance. The sandwich was beautifully prepared and presented, the ingredients fresh, flavorful, and arranged so as to provide the perfect combination and balance of textures. The soup surprised me, both in the generous serving and presentation, paired with toasted ends for dipping. I finished every drop, savoring each. Overall, this was a fun place to visit for a show and meal, and outside of an event, would make a great destination for a night out, a gathering, or just a visit for drinks and food.

Interesting place. Made a reservation on a whim and was very pleased. Service was great. Attentive server. Brought young kids. Two aged 10 and under. You should probably skip that. Older teens would be fine. The signature cocktails we tried were average. Beer list lacked altogether. You aren't going for that I suppose. The hatchet tossing was fun and you were well looked over. We had a good time.
