Okayish taste, some dishes were salty. What's appalling was to see lack of local delicacies but many of regular North Indian gravies filling the menu. Tandoori roti had many burnt spots, non palatable. Almost no choice of a native dessert, except ilaneer payasam, which wasnt available when we ate. The Vaalaipoo pakoda was good, and glad to see that in the menu. Tad expensive for the taste and service being offered.

I stayed in the hotel and had lunch in the restaurent. I ordered chicken fried rice, dragon chicken and crispy prawn. About the good things the chicken fried rice was excellent and the price was worth it. The service was nice too On downside dragon chicken was too oily and it was not crispy as I would have expected. Likewise the piri piri prawn was too oily and did not have any it was bit bland and did not have any piri piri touch to it. The presentation of food was very simple and did not match the high price I paid for and definately require updates to the presentation

Good restaurant in Thanjavur when it comes to ambience and service. It's more expensive than most other highly rated restaurants in Thanjavur. The food is good, but nothing unique or special, just what you would expect from a typical restaurant. Location is convenient and there is ample parking.

Great choice of food, both Indian and non-Indian. The food was delicious, good ambience, and courteous staff. The portion served was too big fir one person. They had live Tamil classical musical performers during dinner which was great. Certainly good place to taste food.

The ambience is great. However, I could not explore the variety of dishes for which this place is popular, as many of the dishes were unavailable. But I do remember the taste of their signature elaneer halwa, which I tried for the first time here. Absolutely incredible.

Honest detailed review-This is my first time visit to Tanjore and knew nothing about this town. For lunch I searched for restaurants, this was the place in the top. To be honest we didn’t want to go to heart of the town that too near bus stand for a meal. But we decided to give a try. As we thought car parking was not available in the restaurant and street parking was full.But restaurant car parking was available near the bus stand. But we found a spot in the road and parked there. Two separate halls were available for dining. Interiors ambience was nothing out of ordinary. They had a Puratassi Virundhu Meal so we ordered that and South Indian Meals. Both were really very tasty and each item on the meal was prepared well only thing that was not upto the mark was the Keerai kotu,it had some bitterness to it. Puratassi meal was overwhelmingly good. Even my kid who doesn’t like Veg meals had a good lunch. The South Indian Meals is equally good with Sambar, pulikuzhambu, mor kuzhambu, rasam, curd,poriyal,keerai,karacurry, ice cream and appalam and paruppu podi. This restaurant is far far better than the ones that have branches in every town and highway.Service is very friendly and comfortable. Overall a very good tasty dining experience for us. If you can take a detour from highway and have patience for parking then surely visit this place for lunch.

I visited Arya Bhavan in Thanjavur, and I must say the food taste was really good. Every item I tried—from their South Indian meals to snacks—had that authentic flavor and freshness you expect from a quality restaurant. The place is clean, well-maintained, and has a good vibe for both families and solo travelers. Service was decent and polite too. The only thing is that the prices are slightly on the higher side compared to other places nearby. But if you're okay paying a bit more for quality and hygiene, it’s worth it.

I have been dining here for the past 30 years and the taste was the same for nearly 25 years. But for the past 2-3 years, it's not satisfactory. The famous Chilli Chicken is so spicy nowadays. Another popular dish Butter Chicken is not up to the mark now. The restaurant ambience is okay because it needs some refreshing look for the modern days. Have a look at the serving dishes! They are served in stainless steel utensils; looks like they haven't upgraded after 90s. No value for money as the menu prices are not reasonable for the quality of the item served.

This is one Descent Nonveg Restaurant in Tanjore city. Good for family, The briyani and Chicken sidedishes also good, especially we loved the dragon chicken here. The prawn is not that much good. Overall a good experience. There is a paid parking opposite to this.

We reached there around 3 pm, and it looked like the staff were in a hurry to wind up the counter, but luckily we managed to place our order and got everything we asked for. The food was really good, no complaints about the taste or quality — in fact, it was worth the money. The only downside was the service. It felt a bit dull and we had to wait for more than an hour before the food was finally served. The place itself was neat and had enough seating, but because of the slow service, it was a little frustrating. Maybe they were short-staffed at that time, not sure. Still, if you have patience, the food makes up for the wait.

I didn’t like the way they cleaned. My table was wet when I sat down. I waited for someone to clean it, but no one came. So I asked them to clean the table. The cleaner wiped it with a wiper, but it was still wet. I also saw her placing the wiper on dirty plates in the trolley where she was collecting used dishes. That really upset me. I didn’t say anything because she was elderly. I just moved to another spot and started eating. A waiter came and asked what happened, but the way he spoke wasn’t polite. He was quiet, but his tone felt rude. It was really a good hotel when i was child. I really want that taste and services now!

Had lunch with my family, pathetic food. I asked for warm water and was provided with boiling hot water. Ordered curd rice which was very hot as well with absolutely no taste and seasoning. The price of the meals was also a lot compared to what was served. Would not recommended going at all.

Food especially tiffin items like idly, dosa, sambar, chutney etc is delicious. Lunch was also good.Three types of chutneys (Coconut, Tomato, Mint) will be served. 4. Meals during lunch time will have good spread of fry, poriyal, kootu, curries, delicious sambar, rasam, mor kulambu, Butter milk etc 5. Howey, service is below average. During lunch time, there is no proper way of allotting the chairs to the customer. The manager at counter told that if you have seat, you go and sit or else get away 6. The AC section is horrible with stinking smell. 7. The mode of payment is only cash. 8. Neatness is above average.

Total chaos, too less people to serve on a weekend. Over crowded as its near to the temple, has 2 AC halls and a big seating for non AC. Ample car and two wheeler parking facilities. But customer service is a big thumbs down. Food taste is also very average. Better dont try here and there are many better resturants in the same road.

Nice restaurant with affordable food rates. Arti crafts shops adjacent to this has a nice collections. This is very close to the Tanajavur Brihadheeswara temple and adjacent to the temple parking premises. Quality of the food is also good at reasonable rates.

I went to purchase some refreshments, but unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience with the cashier. I paid Rs. 200 in cash, and in return, she handed me very old and torn currency notes. When I politely requested an exchange—explaining that such notes are often not accepted by other vendors—she raised her voice and responded rudely, insisting I keep them. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, especially in the service industry, where basic courtesy and professionalism toward customers should be a priority.

One of the very worst restaurant with most arrogant staffs, doesn't care about customer needs and minimum requirements. No Table will have salt, or pickle. If u ask for salt they'll say self service. What's the meaning of self service in providing salt. If they keep a small salt pot in tables, who cares Abt there serving.

The food at the restaurant was decent overall. The Mutton Biryani was definitely the highlight—absolutely delicious! The naan was good too, soft and fresh. However, the chicken gravy and chicken peratal were just average; the chicken could have been cooked a bit more thoroughly for a better texture. One area that could use improvement is the hand wash area, which wasn’t as well-maintained as I would have liked. It’s an okay spot for a meal, but there’s room for improvement in a few areas.

I went on exact lunch time (1.00PM). Little bit busy at that time. I ordered mutton biryani and fish finger but they told fish finger sold out, then I ordered tandoori chicken. Biryani was super. Tandoori was okay. You need to park your vehicle before the restaurant. Service was good. Quantity is fine for me.

On 24/10/25, I visited your restaurant with my friends at around 3pm. After being seated, we placed our food order with the server at approximately [20]. However, even after waiting for more than [50 minutes], our food had not been served. Several other tables that arrived after us received their meals before ours. When we inquired with the staff, we were told that the kitchen was busy, but no proper update or apology was provided. The lack of communication and delay in service caused great inconvenience and disappointment, especially as we had children/elderly persons waiting. We expected timely service and better customer handling, but the overall experience was unsatisfactory. Kindly look into this issue and take appropriate steps to improve the service speed and communication with customers in the future.

Had dine in offered good quality and quantity food, hopping good and next day ordered 2 mutton biriyani, packed in a local white box and very less quantity and found only 3 bones, not even a single piece of mutton found in biriyani, waste of money

I am disappointed with my biryani order. I paid over cost for food that was not worth it. The mutton and fish biryanis both tasted the same and they were too salty. I even got chicken pieces in my fish biryani! I am not sure what is going on at this restaurant, but I will not be returning. Also, I do not recommend this hotel for biryani lovers.

Worst service. Many of the items in the menu are not available and restaurant will not inform you about that until you order. Even rotis are not available. When you ask , supervisor (Male - 30 +)is getting angry and changing the service person to our table and delays the order purposely. Took an hour for egg lappa. THIS IS OUR LAST VISIT to this worst hotel. 4.3* Google rating is I think the hotel people itself gave 5* rating to them If customers give, it will not cross 2*. Only if you want to have biriyani and leave, come here. Other wise, it's a worst choice.

I bought a half grilled chicken from Barbequeen, and it was absolutely disgusting. When I took the first bite, something felt off. So I broke the leg piece bone with my hands, and to my shock, raw blood came out from inside the bone! In the second picture you can clearly see the masala also raw This clearly shows the chicken was not cooked properly, and is unsafe to eat.

Very worst experience. If anyone needs a hairpin briyani, you can visit BARBEQUEEN, Thanjavur. They are not even ready to reduce the bill amount but trying to justify their mistake. I ordered for Mutton biryani they wrongly served chicken biryani and everything they making delay. I ordered takeaway along with table order but they missed and made me wait for 30-45 mins. Food is taste-wise normal. The Thanjavur special meal has only 8 items and a 200 rs charge; they told me to take individual dishes. It's a scam; each dish is 25 rs so that they can make more money. For 350 Rs, unlimited AC food... Today for me it's a pathetic scam, getting money from common people Service is pathetic.... Don't go...dishes normal taste... 📌 For coming to Thanjavur to explore and trying something new food.. Money is not a problem for me, okay… 25 Rs per item, 15 items – it's around 375. Okay… Then serving sambar, buttermilk, puliyodarai, rasam, etc. Also, an additional amount is to be paid. I clearly asked the serviceman; he suggested whatever you want. Choose sambar and the other, and I will give it. That's why I ordered individually, okay…. So your staff misled me. I just plan to try 200 Thanjavur specials. Tally for me; it's enough… Individually coming and eating, you need to improve your service too… Take care of the customer's needs and ask what they want and what the plan is…. Misleading is happening because your staff give clear instructions to ladies: don't give full meals to customers. If full meals are finished, you just clearly say it's just finished. If you have a plan to finish the rest of the food items, don't dump them on someone's heads. It happened today; just ask your service staff. 📌 Cross check with the CCTV camera While in the hand wash area, I saw an old lady open a packet for cooking with his teeth. I had the pleasure of dining at Chellammal’s Manpaanai Samayal during my recent visit to Thanjavur, and it was a unique and memorable experience. Located about 2 km from the Brihadeeswarar Temple, this place offers a traditional South Indian meal served with a lot of love and care. We opted for the buffet meal, priced at ₹350 per person. The meal was completely vegetarian and served on a banana leaf. What made the experience special was that one lady personally served each dish, explaining the names and ingredients as she placed them — a very warm and traditional touch. All the side dishes were presented in clay pots, which added to the authenticity. There were many varieties of curries, side dishes, rasam, sweets, payasam, and even herbal tea at the end. Everything tasted delicious, especially the leaf-based dishes and the Thinai Payasam, which was my personal favorite. They also offer a regular meal for ₹150, but it includes fewer side dishes and extras are charged separately. Overall, it was a wonderful culinary experience that goes beyond just food — it’s about culture, tradition, and hospitality. A must-try if you’re in Thanjavur!

I was very much intrigued by the theme of the restaurant where it gave feel of eating on mud pot vessels and the wood fire based cooking due to its enhanced rustic taste that it gives. I was not disappointed at all. The service was top notch by the staff there. Even though it was peak time we went, the staff were so cordial. We ordered special meals and regular meals. Boy !! It was so good, lot of options to choose and we had a very tasty and satisfying meals. Do check it out when you come to thanjavur. A small note to owner: I understand it would be tough for you to maintain lot of things with the crowd and stuff, but it would be nice if you smile and be little cordial to your customers. It would elevate your service. Just a suggestion.

A must try food experience when you are at Tanjavur. Fabulous vegetarian food, you can dine like a king. All the food is cooked using firewood, curries cooked in pot will give you a authentic village style meal. Have been to their cofounded restaurant at Trichy and this restaurant gave some premium experience as the service staff are very courteous unlike the one in Trichy. You can choose buffet or alacarte both are best in both the worlds but whenever we come here we choose alacarte because you can repeat only the ones you like the most. It is tough to get wide range of curries especially greens and you will get all under one roof! No matter how big restaurant you go, number of poriyals you get there for lunch cannot exceed 2 but here you will have 4 options minimum for a meal! Only con is you will get only meals during lunch time but that’s the speciality of the restaurant. For dinner few varieties of tiffin is available and of-course lot of side dishes to choose from!

It seems it’s not a good idea to trust Google reviews recently. The food and service was literally worst. 1. Soup - Average taste. 2. Hot pepper chicken- which was ordered as a starter came as a pepper chicken Semidry and no taste at all. 3. Hyderabadi biriyani- an orange coloured flavourless oily rice with some meat in it. I hope no Hyderabadi visit this place, he may die out of shock. 4. Phulka with butter chicken.- full of sweatness and no butter tasted. In spite of wasting so much money for the interior they should pay enough to get a proper chef. The server guy inside the ac section was on his phone watching videos even if u ask something he might bring if ur lucky. When most of dishes were returned without eating , he didn’t even find anything abnormal. May this is a usual practice for them.

Went here for lunch today. I was surprised by the ambience here. It gave a feeling of the old London that we see in old movies and i liked it very much. But that was the only thing I liked here.I ordered chicken soup,butter naan and malai kofta , which took an astounding 40 minutes to arrive.The chicken soup was okay , the butter naan was too thick and malai kofta was the worst. I have heard my friends say it was good when they were here last year but I wonder what happened now.The panneer kofta was so dry that I choked on it 2 times. Talking about the service, there was no water jug provided for the table and the waitresses come by to refill your glass , but were nowhere to be seen when water was needed (after eating).Also the whole restaurant seemed to have only 1 air conditioner for the entire restaurant, which was inadequate for this summer.I requested the waitresses to switch on the fan , but the request was ignored.I was drenched by the time i finished my lunch.Bill was also provided very late after my meal. Overall a below average experience.

I visited Grand Dine Restaurant in Thanjavur but had to leave immediately. The AC room had a strong unpleasant smell, and the handwashing area was also unhygienic with a bad odor. Because of this, I couldn’t even stay to try the food. Cleanliness is very important in a restaurant, and I hope the management takes this seriously.

Well, the location itself has limited options that serve non-veg so this is perhaps among the decent ones. That said, the service sucks. The night we headed for dinner, it took them 20 minutes to even acknowledge us and another 30 mins for the food to arrive. We had naan and a couple of varieties of chicken dishes, which were okay (nothing great). Then we ordered some chapattis and boy we left most of it there since they were undercooked. Also, the plates were old with full of scratches.. unsure how clean they were. Overall, disappointed.

Dined here on a Saturday afternoon.They just have 2 waiters for a seating of 40-50. Waited for a longer time after ordering the food. We ordered Dragon Chicken, Fish finger, Panner biriyani, Mutton Biryani and chicken Mandi along with Mini Falooda Fish Finger and Panner biriyani was good. Mutton Biryani was below average and the pieces were very hard. Dragon Chicken had lot of carrots than Chicken 😂😂😂 Kids were little upset after hearing that they don't serve Fried rice and Noodles in the afternoon time. They could have added the timings on the menu itself. Overall, Ambience was good but Food was average and service was very slow !

We ordered 10 pieces of shrimps as a starter and received not more than two small shrimps cut into ten pieces in thick batter. We received basicly fried flour, no taste of shrimps at all. It made us feel ripped off. The main dish was also untasty. Garlic mayonnaise was very tasty but there were a few pieces of evident plastic I found in my mouth coming probably from cutting a plastic bag open. The waiter denied it and said it was a garlic peel without even looking closer at the pieces plastic.

Situated in the Medical College Road and accessibility is easy. We went for taking lunch. They give half square meal at 50% rate. This is somewhat unique and that half meal food is sufficient for younger people. Food is served in plantain leaves and staff are courteous. Cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel is wanting. But it is a popular vegetarian hotel in that Road.

I went here to have some authentic South Indian meals but the meal was not available as it was post 3 so settled up eating some Vadas and they were amazing in taste even though they were served ice cold. The filter coffee was too good and as strong as I requested, very pocket-friendly place it is.

This place has shifted from its old address. So if youy are going there, find out the exact address. However, if you go to the old address you'll eat at hotel Ganapathy, as i did. Their food is awesome as well. But i guess for a person from Chennai any food at thanjore will be awesome. The coconut chutney was super awesome. Rava onion and vada exceeds expectations. This is the first ever coffee palace hotel. The other two are newly built. If one wants to savor the best of south Indian breakfast, this is the place. Rates are so nominal. Must eat: Rava Dosa, Filter Coffee. If you reach the place between 4 pm - 6 pm, you will get amazing evening snacks that changes daily. 5* taste, 5* value for money. The hotel is very old, so dont go by the looks. Everything is served on banana leaf :)

Coffe and rawa dosai is great with Arachu vitta sambhar (authentic Tanjore dish)which is made with freshly roasted and grounded spices , other dishes are ok. It's quite difficult to park a car in this street.

Very disappointed... And very expensive for the food and service this place provides. Seems it caters to foreigners. If the food and the service is premium then one will not mind paying a premium. The only decent staff was the person who showed us to the bar.

Worst experience. They charged service tax along with vat 56% . The dishes that they provided is very very ordinary. But the charge is high even a small cup of peanuts will cost you 400 rs . No proper service.. I would definitely not recommend this place if you are planning for a good time with friends or a birthday party or a party with your close ones .

We had lunch here, the rice was over boiled, sticky, sambar no taste, beetroot and cabbage porriyal, old vegetables were used. only one tomato kootu was ok, the curd seemed to be refrigerated for a long time, they kept mysore pa, which smelled old, I got stomach upset after eating I paid 480 for 3 person meals, which is not worth for the food they served, they don't have maintain quality food, VERY MUCH DISAPPOINTED

As usual no Car parking available inside 600Meter radius . Kumbakonam Streets are much narrower, but coming to the point - their filter coffee was so good , Got Parotta & Chapathi parcel - everything was perfect , best of the kind . Veg Kuruma tasted best .

The bath rooms needs redoing. Esp. Commodes are pretty old and low not very comfortable for aged who form the majority of visitors to kumbakonam. Needs change and daily maintenance to make the hotel top class and traveler friendly.

I recently stayed at Hotel Gnanam, referred by a friend(Mr.Jonny) whose relative owns this wonderful place. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed, and the service was exceptional. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making my stay very pleasant. The authentic South Indian food was absolutely delicious and felt like a true home-cooked meal. A special mention to the Owner(CEO), who is incredibly polite, humble, and welcoming. He personally ensured that guests felt comfortable and well taken care of, which made the experience even more special. I’m grateful to my friend for recommending this hotel and would highly recommend Hotel Gnanam to anyone looking for excellent hospitality and a memorable stay.

The location of this hotel is excellent! The temple is very near and so are many restaurants. The hotel and the rooms were clean and maintained well. However, the floor of the room was super dusty and even after asking them to come and mop it, they cleaned it for under a minute and the floor stayed dusty. The breakfast was very good and there was a good spread as well, with fruits and all. The beds were super firm and comfortable. There was also a balcony with our room. The only problem is that it was quite noisy being in the middle of the market, also there was some generator going on in the adjacent building till late in the night - I did not mind it (being so tired from all the travel) but my husband could not sleep well because of it.

had the worst experience with the receptionist at this hotel. From the very beginning, the attitude was unwelcoming and unhelpful, which really set a negative tone for my stay. We were given a room in the first floor with a view of the city outside. I complained. Although they could not find an immediate solution they offered us to relocate us to another room. However, we politely refused since we were anyway leaving the next morning.

We have to advise to all travellers coming in here that you Will pay here for 24hours service ,we arrived at the hotel at 6.30 am NOT requesting the room availability, and as everywhere you go in any hotel in the world is their discretion to give the room earlier then their check in time (12pm), they said the room was already ready and we happily enter the room at 6.30 am , NOBODY advise us that the service was for 24 hours from the time of entering the room . Well.. at 6.20 am next day we received a call from reception saying that we have to leave otherwise Will be late checkout fee to pay , as for out booking was at 12 pm ! NOBODY asked them to have the room at 6.30 am is always as THEIR DISCRETION and nobody told us of this absurdity otherwise we would never accept the room that early! The man at the reception was no clear at all and no helpful in this situation, without giving his name also ,to be able to place a complain to his supervisor! Also we had breakfast included but not be able to use It of course cause the very early check out! Also included there Is wifi in your price but It didnt work at all!! All this situation It Is a great scam and not in favour of the customer and no helpful at all , careful also to go out of your room later then check out because the room Will not open anymore with all your staff ,luggage ,phones and Money in It! The service is extremely bad, there are not enough staff to take order or even get simple water. None of the hall supervisors care about all customers waiting even for getting some water. On 6th March 2025, i visited at 6.45pm for dinner. I requested for Iddiyappam and was told kitchen was not ready. We requested Iddiyappam. We also ordered Onion pagoda and coffee. Half hour later, i was told by waiter that Iddiyappam was not available today. Customers must be told immediately what was not avaliable. I requested the resturant manager to give feedback. It took long for Manager to approach me for feedback. Disappointed on the Service and Pagoda was disaster. Pagoda was over fried. Looks like the quality of food and service inconsistent. On 2nd March 2025, I ordered Szechuan chicken noodles. I would rate as 5 star flavour and quality. Chef Mahindran preparation was excellent. Waiter Prabaharan was fluent in English and polite. The best noodles at Kumbakonnam. All staff were attentive, and the service was good.

I went to this restaurant 🥘🍲 a while ago. The atmosphere is nice and vibrant. The staff are very nice to the customers. When we went, there was an event upstairs so the time taken⏳⏰ for food to arrive was more than 30 minutes. But I must say the food 🥗🍛is top notch and is very good! But when I had it as takeaway, I'd say it isn't so good. One thing I'd recommend is to try the Rose Milk 🥛🌹 as they make it from scratch and its so tasty! Overall, its a good restaurant one of my all time favourites! Definetely will recommend.

This hotel only serves the purpose of EV charging point and the atmosphere. This may be the reason they charge us high and quality or taste is below par. Not a good choice for tourists and localities too.

The Restaurant serves both Veg and Non Veg Food. All the varieties are good and served hot. They serve a very good Morning Breakfast Buffet. Lunch is so good with all varieties of veg and non veg. Veg Meals and North Indian meals is good.

I visited Thevar Biriyani after seeing it listed among the best restaurants in Thanjavur on Google. Honestly, the experience was average. The biriyani was decent in quantity but nothing extraordinary in taste, and the fish I ordered alongside was also just okay. It’s not the best biriyani I’ve had, but it works as a convenient stop for a meal if you’re passing through.

During my last visit to Tanjore, my relative suggested this Thevars biryani hotel which is a famous place for non veg items in Tanjore. We had both Mutton and chicken biryani - Mutton biryani was priced around 220rs.the Mutton pieces were tender and well cooked. This seeraga samba Biryani had mild aroma with a home style taste. And Quantity provided for more than sufficient for a person. When I posted about the same in my YouTube community page, most people agreed with me, but there were few who argued that this restaurant lost its old taste. Anyways if you are in Tanjore, do try their biryani They have both Ac and non ac seating - and it's suited for families too. There is a paid govt parking space just opposite to restaurant, so no worries about parking your car

After along time I taste this type of briyani it's really awesome and good. Must try mutton biryani and coconut fish fry it's really very good and different. There is dish called mutton 88. I never tried that if anyone tried it please let me know. Will try it in next visit

We were recommended this place, but I wouldn't recommend. It may be OK for a quick functional economical lunch, but if one is looking for good food and good experience, this is not the one. Bare minimum items, service is pathetic. Waiters fighting with each other. They don't bother to tell what items are available or if you need anything. No wash rooms ... Very very baisc

First to note, there’s 2 branches of same brand very nearby and with same menu. I visited the one with AC and was super satisfied with filter coffee. Enjoyed the rich aromatic coffee served in traditional dabara during my short visit to Kumbakonam. Was tempted to have the pickle placed in table, so ordered papad to have along with it. Veg meals, though I didn’t have, did smell good and the service was great.

Mangalambika Coffee and Tiffin Center serves wholesome, tasty, healthy food at affordable prices. The outlet is now air conditioned and spruced up. We enjoyed the yummy dinner of Adai Aviyal and 5-taste Uthappam. Both were so filling. Any visit to Kumbakonam would be incomplete without a meal in Mangalambika.

Update: Thanks for the clarification. Upgrading review. There are 2 Mangalambika Coffee and Tiffin Centres just 3 shops apart at this location. Later, I heard one more old one is there. Have to search out in the next outing. But, all have same menu. On Thursday you get Kumbakonam Kadapa which is what we got (refer photo of 5 Taste Uttappam) as we went on a Thursday. Food and Coffee are excellent. For the confusion in similar names I am giving 4 stars.

The food here was homely and excellent! I loved it so much along with the service as they advise us about which foods have onions. They don't have garlic at all in their food which was hard to find these days. Loved the adai avial and one could taste the venthya in venthya dosai. It's the best you can have. As a North Indian, my review for this South Indian restaurant, is delicious in one word!. You can really enjoy, chicken, mutton biriyani with various gravy and dry fry options. In mutton you can also have the leg bones (Nali mutton gravy). You can definitely try your appetite to satisfy your drought full feeling of eating non-veg. Fish also available here. If you are having a expandable nonveg option, apparently you can satisfy your stomach and enjoy your lunch or dinner. The hotness of the spices is tolerable or you can customize according to your taste. Better go with medium hotness ( wrt chilli). I recommend you can surely try, and hope you enjoy the food. We went here with my family on the way to velankanni. We felt the food could have been far better. It costed us 2200 for six people. However the food was not as expected. Mutton omelette and Kola urunda is a must try.

I loved loved loved the Biriyani here! I'm not from around, and for me this was the perfect dish of the day! The Fish was fresh and oiled as the dish suggested. The Prawn Manchurian was fresh and delicious. The Tandoori was not all great but okay. The Ambience was a bit too noisy for me but the service was good. The staff was friendly who explained to me all about the Chettinad Cuisine. The value for money was really good. Worth the price! I would say for me the pit stop after a long drive from Nagpatnam definitely made me smile.

Horrible experience, went after a tiring trip from Velankani. We wanted to eat meals and had a long journey ahead to Bangalore. Ordered non veg meals which doesn’t have any non veg other than a cm long piece of fish. Mutton curry which had a piece normally we throw away. (Pic attached). Waiter kept asking for side dish around 6 times as if you don’t take you are not worth enough to eat there. Had a horrible experience and wouldn’t recommend anyone looking to eat with dignity. I normally don’t fuss around food but this I had to report.

We ordered twice while staying in thanjavur via swiggy and zomato. The packaging was very good. The coffee was hot enough even after 20 minutes of delivery. I personally like the pongal and rava dosai. The service has been very good, attending to every need. There is plenty of parking, hence no issues there.

Had my meal for the first time in this restaurant, the food was fantastic with no doubt, from the appitizer to the south indian mini meals! Unfortunately the waiting system for the table is unorganised as the restaurant was crowded and it took some times to sit. Hope the management take initiative onnmaking an organised waiting system.

Worst staff management. Ragunathan - looks like a manager there, wore suit, with zero efforts to arrange a table for a family of 2 with 1-2yr old kid. From the photo you can see there are lots of table vacant. I just entered the hotel and asked for a table, he responded no service person is available.. 3 persons are standing at the billing counter chit chatting. This is not the 1st time here. WORST!

A good restaurant compared to its peers in the region. The ambience was good and the food was good too. The service could have been better as the thing we ask for either takes many requests or many minutes to arrive, it's the case even for a few tissues and the accompaniments. A good place to visit if you are looking to have a nice dinner with your family in Kumbakonam. I found the price to be fair for their offerings when compared to similar restaurants in other places.

Saw some of the reviews and agree its abit overrated. Biryani rice taste was average - could see uniqueness. Meat however was well done. As a biryani outlet, I definitely expected more. I don't see going to this place more than once. The starters however were not bad options.

Stopped in this place and got take away of Mutton Biryani, Grilled chicken, pepper chicken with chicken Fried rice. All the items were tasty and very good. The pepper chicken is a must try. A busy place that serves all vegetarian dishes. Although their meals seemed to be good we got their parotta just to try out how their gravy is and it turned out to be really good. Very renowned and well located place. Their service is super fast. Not even the Chennai top rated veg restaurants cannot match this place. South Indian foods are really awesome. Very friendly staffs. I usually prefer staying whenever I go to Oppilappan temple in Thirunageswaram near Kumbakonam. Very well managed, rooms can be more clean and no room service as such until you ask for it. They clean the room on request if you staying more than a day.

Worst experience. Washbasin was not working, water quality was very poor it was literally black in colour. Service was very poor we asked for hot water no kettle was provided and not even considered it when we asked them. Charged 4k rupees. They are providing other used room when we accused them for water quality. Please don't choose them.

Not recommending this hotel.why because this hotel manager Mr.Mathi is charter we have taken 3 bed for 2 days this cost suppose to be 2700*2=5400 but he has collected Rs.6000 from us and we have not even asked extra bed. A/c was not having adequate cooling and internet& TV was not working and also room service was not done at all. Once I explained them one of the elder has told Mr.Mathi to return back our extra collected money from us since we not consuming Extra bed.so Mr.Mathi is big cheater. There are big cheating is going on be careful. Tariff is different and collecting money is diff.i am extremely not happy at all.

Worst biryani i ever had in life. No its not even biryani, just pongal with chilli powder. Before 5 yrs, I used to eat here every month after salary. The taste used to be ultimate. But i dont know what happend, they compromised on quality. When i went today (the day before diwali) it was fully crowded. just to earn extra, looks like they prepared in hurry and provided tasteless food. This has to be my last visit to this place. 🙏🏽 and their dalcha was just rasam with salt. No taste. Ordered 2 biryani and just left half of the biryani. Disappointed.

Excellent hotel with a good atmosphere. Located on the main road . Pure vegetarian Food available with excellent quality and taste with a reasonable price. Inside the hotel sealing is covered by all seven chakras related to the energy points of our human body . This is very very interesting. I am visiting these hotels continuously for three days. I had taken idly , Vada, rava dosa , masala dosa and chapati. Chapati has a very good taste with two curries and curd raitha. Raitha made pure curd , onions with keera , taste is the next level . Must try. Finally taken a cup of filter coffee. Food lovers must visit.

We ordered the mughal chicken biryani and two medium chicken 65 pieces The chicken 65 were little bombs of buttery, yeasty goodness, and the chicken was robust but not overpowering. When our biryani arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. The chicken was crisp, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked together beautifully. The taste was great. By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit.

Went to Moshika Bhavan to have dinner after hearing a lot of hype abt their tasty food. Comparing to other restaurants in town, it is priced high but not bad food. No value for money, only for some items. Paneer Tikka was good. I ordered a starter Mushroom Pepper dry fry, it was pathetic. After 22 minutes of ordering, they brought something with watery gravy !! I haven’t seen such a starter in my life ! Mushroom Dry pepper fry is superb in Balaji Bhavan. Gobi Chettinad was also not that great, just ok. Average per head Rs.300, but not that great. Definitely a good hotel in town. Not that great up to the pricing. Service is not bad. But got delay in many things.

Briyani is very nice. Again can add little spice but still very good. Fish podi mass is good. Fish gravy is pathetic. Must improve serving speed for meals. Waiting to get next course of rice is very bad. Still a place to enjoy your non veg.

It is located at the exit gate of thanjavur old bus stand .it serving delicious meals we had veg meals and curd rice Waiter was offering kottu, and other vegetables with curd rice . Food taste is excellent and service is awesome. Menu choice to be more if we compare with other hotels. For lunch they offer you Moore khulmbhu and vatha khulmbhu as well.

SHUT IT DOWN. The hotel sever literally yold me to clean the table by myself. When complained to manager he said "we don't have enough employees so adjust on whatever they say" Worst hotel in Thanjavur.

Very affordable place. Good south indian vegetarian option near old bus stand. The interiors are a bit old and the rest room leaves a lot to be desired. But the food is good.

Missing Pulikulambu & sweet. 👉Taste : Complete Flat. 👉Quantity : Unlimited. 👉Payment : Gpay & cash. 👉Parking : Road side. Over all i considered, You will find better ambiance & taste hotel nearby.

If there is a negative star then I will definitely give -5. Very very poor and worst restaurant. Please don't go to this restaurant. Totally unhygienic. Their kitchen is totally untidy, insects, bugs and unhygienic. They are touching the food with their left hand I mean they are directly dipping their hands on the food before serving it. Most of the foods were prepared a long time ago. Nothing was prepared during the customer presence.

Now a days food taste was very worst, not like before also service not good, no proper hygenic supplies, worst taste, not provding hot water for kids. But finally asking how much tips can i add to your card payment? Service was very bad.

Food is good but service is very poor.. After 20 mins they came up to take order.. For food it was taken another 25 to 30 mins to serve.

Had mutton biriyani..it seems usually it is a crowded place and the biriyani is too good to have. Waiting time is a bit longer than usual for parcels especially.. service is good.

Briyani was good. The grill was really good and soft. The ambiance was great, so was the service. Parking is bit hard as there's no space for it. Overall good non-veg hotel in the temple city of Kumbakonam.

I visited Kumbakonam for the first time and found the food generally overpriced and of low quality. Today, we decided to try Shamby’s based on its Google rating, unsure if it would live up to the hype, but it was truly excellent. The person taking our order was very courteous, and although I don’t usually tip, I gave him one. The menu was simple and easy to understand. The ambiance was pleasant and straightforward. The food quality was outstanding. As a lifelong Domino’s fan, I found Shamby’s to be even better. The service was fast. In my opinion, the combination of great food, quick service, and a fully vegetarian menu is perfect.

A good cafe....a good place for Cafe and snacks...all varieties of pizza...burger wrap...milkshakes are available at reasonable price....cool drinks and milkshakes also available...located in the main centre town park...near mahamaham tank...the view from the shop is really good....u can enjoy the snack time leisurely....every thing is available in the reasonable price .....and only countable pizza shops are available in kumbakonam...it is not as good but considering other it is ok....they also partner with swiggy and zomato....u can order this from ur home and enjoy the snack....the quality is good...and the taste is moderate...but the quantity is not expected level....for the price it is manageable..don't compare it with top brands like mc Donalds or burger King or domino's....since for this price and this place it is extremely manageable..it can be good for one time try or one time snacks with friends and family.. i ordered in a swiggy...the price range is good and offers also available....packing is really good and safe and delivery is also goods....quantity is not appreciatable......can't be regular vist...not that good.....if u like to try...give it a try..

First I wasn't sure of visiting this place.... But this is a great place for foodies guys, definitely recommended. Don't worry about your food arriving late, you are just served hot and fresh 😀

They have one of the worst tasting pizza in the entire world. It is so bad. It shouldn't even be called pizza. Just rock hard bread with fake cheese and vegetables🤢. I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here especially pizza

I had a great experience at Shamby's Pizza café.The atmosphere was very welcoming and the service was very quick. And the staffs were very friendly I highly recommend to eat here.
