Okayish taste, some dishes were salty. What's appalling was to see lack of local delicacies but many of regular North Indian gravies filling the menu. Tandoori roti had many burnt spots, non palatable. Almost no choice of a native dessert, except ilaneer payasam, which wasnt available when we ate. The Vaalaipoo pakoda was good, and glad to see that in the menu. Tad expensive for the taste and service being offered.

I stayed in the hotel and had lunch in the restaurent. I ordered chicken fried rice, dragon chicken and crispy prawn. About the good things the chicken fried rice was excellent and the price was worth it. The service was nice too On downside dragon chicken was too oily and it was not crispy as I would have expected. Likewise the piri piri prawn was too oily and did not have any it was bit bland and did not have any piri piri touch to it. The presentation of food was very simple and did not match the high price I paid for and definately require updates to the presentation

The only place offering buffet in Thanjavur. The food quality is moderate and the taste is ok. Price is a bit high. the ambiance is moderate they have a good variety of food on the vegetarian section while the non vegetarian section lacks variety

Good restaurant in Thanjavur when it comes to ambience and service. It's more expensive than most other highly rated restaurants in Thanjavur. The food is good, but nothing unique or special, just what you would expect from a typical restaurant. Location is convenient and there is ample parking.

Great choice of food, both Indian and non-Indian. The food was delicious, good ambience, and courteous staff. The portion served was too big fir one person. They had live Tamil classical musical performers during dinner which was great. Certainly good place to taste food.

The ambience is great. However, I could not explore the variety of dishes for which this place is popular, as many of the dishes were unavailable. But I do remember the taste of their signature elaneer halwa, which I tried for the first time here. Absolutely incredible.

Honest detailed review-This is my first time visit to Tanjore and knew nothing about this town. For lunch I searched for restaurants, this was the place in the top. To be honest we didn’t want to go to heart of the town that too near bus stand for a meal. But we decided to give a try. As we thought car parking was not available in the restaurant and street parking was full.But restaurant car parking was available near the bus stand. But we found a spot in the road and parked there. Two separate halls were available for dining. Interiors ambience was nothing out of ordinary. They had a Puratassi Virundhu Meal so we ordered that and South Indian Meals. Both were really very tasty and each item on the meal was prepared well only thing that was not upto the mark was the Keerai kotu,it had some bitterness to it. Puratassi meal was overwhelmingly good. Even my kid who doesn’t like Veg meals had a good lunch. The South Indian Meals is equally good with Sambar, pulikuzhambu, mor kuzhambu, rasam, curd,poriyal,keerai,karacurry, ice cream and appalam and paruppu podi. This restaurant is far far better than the ones that have branches in every town and highway.Service is very friendly and comfortable. Overall a very good tasty dining experience for us. If you can take a detour from highway and have patience for parking then surely visit this place for lunch.

I visited Arya Bhavan in Thanjavur, and I must say the food taste was really good. Every item I tried—from their South Indian meals to snacks—had that authentic flavor and freshness you expect from a quality restaurant. The place is clean, well-maintained, and has a good vibe for both families and solo travelers. Service was decent and polite too. The only thing is that the prices are slightly on the higher side compared to other places nearby. But if you're okay paying a bit more for quality and hygiene, it’s worth it.

Nothing to Hype about this, ordered Ven Pongal, Plain Dosa , the dosai kept (ariya dosai) that came within 5 minute not hot, Pongal the best here, the served with smile . Interior ambiance okay, Airconditioner need to keep more cool. We Really Missed their Filter Coffee.

I have been dining here for the past 30 years and the taste was the same for nearly 25 years. But for the past 2-3 years, it's not satisfactory. The famous Chilli Chicken is so spicy nowadays. Another popular dish Butter Chicken is not up to the mark now. The restaurant ambience is okay because it needs some refreshing look for the modern days. Have a look at the serving dishes! They are served in stainless steel utensils; looks like they haven't upgraded after 90s. No value for money as the menu prices are not reasonable for the quality of the item served.

This is one Descent Nonveg Restaurant in Tanjore city. Good for family, The briyani and Chicken sidedishes also good, especially we loved the dragon chicken here. The prawn is not that much good. Overall a good experience. There is a paid parking opposite to this.

We reached there around 3 pm, and it looked like the staff were in a hurry to wind up the counter, but luckily we managed to place our order and got everything we asked for. The food was really good, no complaints about the taste or quality — in fact, it was worth the money. The only downside was the service. It felt a bit dull and we had to wait for more than an hour before the food was finally served. The place itself was neat and had enough seating, but because of the slow service, it was a little frustrating. Maybe they were short-staffed at that time, not sure. Still, if you have patience, the food makes up for the wait.

I didn’t like the way they cleaned. My table was wet when I sat down. I waited for someone to clean it, but no one came. So I asked them to clean the table. The cleaner wiped it with a wiper, but it was still wet. I also saw her placing the wiper on dirty plates in the trolley where she was collecting used dishes. That really upset me. I didn’t say anything because she was elderly. I just moved to another spot and started eating. A waiter came and asked what happened, but the way he spoke wasn’t polite. He was quiet, but his tone felt rude. It was really a good hotel when i was child. I really want that taste and services now!

Had lunch with my family, pathetic food. I asked for warm water and was provided with boiling hot water. Ordered curd rice which was very hot as well with absolutely no taste and seasoning. The price of the meals was also a lot compared to what was served. Would not recommended going at all.

In May month i visited Thanjavur at the time I visited this restaurant I ordered chapathi and panner butter masala and fried rice and meals and sambar sadham and it is nice and tasty and also price also affordable so 😋 enjoy good with my family

Food especially tiffin items like idly, dosa, sambar, chutney etc is delicious. Lunch was also good.Three types of chutneys (Coconut, Tomato, Mint) will be served. 4. Meals during lunch time will have good spread of fry, poriyal, kootu, curries, delicious sambar, rasam, mor kulambu, Butter milk etc 5. Howey, service is below average. During lunch time, there is no proper way of allotting the chairs to the customer. The manager at counter told that if you have seat, you go and sit or else get away 6. The AC section is horrible with stinking smell. 7. The mode of payment is only cash. 8. Neatness is above average.

Total chaos, too less people to serve on a weekend. Over crowded as its near to the temple, has 2 AC halls and a big seating for non AC. Ample car and two wheeler parking facilities. But customer service is a big thumbs down. Food taste is also very average. Better dont try here and there are many better resturants in the same road.

Nice restaurant with affordable food rates. Arti crafts shops adjacent to this has a nice collections. This is very close to the Tanajavur Brihadheeswara temple and adjacent to the temple parking premises. Quality of the food is also good at reasonable rates.

I went to purchase some refreshments, but unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience with the cashier. I paid Rs. 200 in cash, and in return, she handed me very old and torn currency notes. When I politely requested an exchange—explaining that such notes are often not accepted by other vendors—she raised her voice and responded rudely, insisting I keep them. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, especially in the service industry, where basic courtesy and professionalism toward customers should be a priority.

One of the very worst restaurant with most arrogant staffs, doesn't care about customer needs and minimum requirements. No Table will have salt, or pickle. If u ask for salt they'll say self service. What's the meaning of self service in providing salt. If they keep a small salt pot in tables, who cares Abt there serving.

However, when it comes to the food, it was quite disappointing and far from what I expected.I ordered Aapam, which tasted very sour; the hot and sour soup was more like peppery hot water. The Onion Rava was decent compared to the rest, but the sambar and chutney tasted as though they were spoiled.Considering the prices, the quality and taste of the food were not worth it.I would not recommend this place.

The food at the restaurant was decent overall. The Mutton Biryani was definitely the highlight—absolutely delicious! The naan was good too, soft and fresh. However, the chicken gravy and chicken peratal were just average; the chicken could have been cooked a bit more thoroughly for a better texture. One area that could use improvement is the hand wash area, which wasn’t as well-maintained as I would have liked. It’s an okay spot for a meal, but there’s room for improvement in a few areas.

I went on exact lunch time (1.00PM). Little bit busy at that time. I ordered mutton biryani and fish finger but they told fish finger sold out, then I ordered tandoori chicken. Biryani was super. Tandoori was okay. You need to park your vehicle before the restaurant. Service was good. Quantity is fine for me.

On 24/10/25, I visited your restaurant with my friends at around 3pm. After being seated, we placed our food order with the server at approximately [20]. However, even after waiting for more than [50 minutes], our food had not been served. Several other tables that arrived after us received their meals before ours. When we inquired with the staff, we were told that the kitchen was busy, but no proper update or apology was provided. The lack of communication and delay in service caused great inconvenience and disappointment, especially as we had children/elderly persons waiting. We expected timely service and better customer handling, but the overall experience was unsatisfactory. Kindly look into this issue and take appropriate steps to improve the service speed and communication with customers in the future.

Had dine in offered good quality and quantity food, hopping good and next day ordered 2 mutton biriyani, packed in a local white box and very less quantity and found only 3 bones, not even a single piece of mutton found in biriyani, waste of money

I am disappointed with my biryani order. I paid over cost for food that was not worth it. The mutton and fish biryanis both tasted the same and they were too salty. I even got chicken pieces in my fish biryani! I am not sure what is going on at this restaurant, but I will not be returning. Also, I do not recommend this hotel for biryani lovers.

Worst service. Many of the items in the menu are not available and restaurant will not inform you about that until you order. Even rotis are not available. When you ask , supervisor (Male - 30 +)is getting angry and changing the service person to our table and delays the order purposely. Took an hour for egg lappa. THIS IS OUR LAST VISIT to this worst hotel. 4.3* Google rating is I think the hotel people itself gave 5* rating to them If customers give, it will not cross 2*. Only if you want to have biriyani and leave, come here. Other wise, it's a worst choice.

I bought a half grilled chicken from Barbequeen, and it was absolutely disgusting. When I took the first bite, something felt off. So I broke the leg piece bone with my hands, and to my shock, raw blood came out from inside the bone! In the second picture you can clearly see the masala also raw This clearly shows the chicken was not cooked properly, and is unsafe to eat.

Very worst experience. If anyone needs a hairpin briyani, you can visit BARBEQUEEN, Thanjavur. They are not even ready to reduce the bill amount but trying to justify their mistake. The food provided is cold. I will never recommend anyone to this hotel. But if you are ready to risk your life, you are most welcome to this place.

I ordered for Mutton biryani they wrongly served chicken biryani and everything they making delay. I ordered takeaway along with table order but they missed and made me wait for 30-45 mins. I had the pleasure of dining at Chellammal’s Manpaanai Samayal during my recent visit to Thanjavur, and it was a unique and memorable experience. Located about 2 km from the Brihadeeswarar Temple, this place offers a traditional South Indian meal served with a lot of love and care. We opted for the buffet meal, priced at ₹350 per person. The meal was completely vegetarian and served on a banana leaf. What made the experience special was that one lady personally served each dish, explaining the names and ingredients as she placed them — a very warm and traditional touch. All the side dishes were presented in clay pots, which added to the authenticity. There were many varieties of curries, side dishes, rasam, sweets, payasam, and even herbal tea at the end. Everything tasted delicious, especially the leaf-based dishes and the Thinai Payasam, which was my personal favorite. They also offer a regular meal for ₹150, but it includes fewer side dishes and extras are charged separately. Overall, it was a wonderful culinary experience that goes beyond just food — it’s about culture, tradition, and hospitality. A must-try if you’re in Thanjavur!

We went to Chellammals Manpaanai Samayal for lunch. A veg place but nice and a different concept. They keep all items on bowls. You can take as many as you want and also ask more of any item. This includes even curd. They charge by the number of empty bowls. 25 per bowl. The rice one is bigger, so 50. You can get both white and red rice. Healthy food. Tastes like home. Simple and light on the stomach. For 3 of us, we consumed 21 bowls of gravy and side dishes, and a bowl of rice. The bill was 575, a real value for money. We are not big eaters. I specifically like the fact that all employees are ladies. Besides the concept helps avoids good wastage. Hope it helps in uplifting their life. There were flies that must be controlled. Else, a few may go uncomfortable. Not overly crowded, maybe, due to non holiday season and weekday. I like the simplicity of the restaurant decor that did not compromise the cleanliness, which is an issue commonly seen with such places. Kudos overall! Recommend you to try.

Manpaanai Samayal Thanjavur We had the pleasure of having lunch at Manpaanai Samayal in Thanjavur, a vegetarian Restaurent that served Buffet for Rs 350 on 17 October 2025 Buffet was served to us explaining the dish by Kala, they start the meal with Jeera Water and Panakam and they have about 33 dishes together. They had 4 types of sambar, the Vurundai kulambu, Kaara Kulambu, Moore (Yogurt based) Kulambu and 2 types of rasam. Most of the ingredients are made there which makes a great supply chain integration. Process of making in Claypots by the local people makes it a great lunch experience with taste, right amount of spices, perfect quantity, texture super hospitality and hygiene. This vegetarian food had the right amount of Carbo, Fibre, Protein and Nutrition, which can be missing in other places. We liked the buffet so much that we had it when we were going back to Tiruchi Airport.

Really good restaurant, serves authentic Thanjavur food. Its 1.5 km from Brihadeshwar temple. Had both lunch and dinner there. Should definitely try their lunch. Its simple, healthy, tasty and homely. The owner and service is really nice. For dinner they gave us all their special items, which was also excellent. The ambiance is nice. Never miss this place if you are in Tanjavur! They had so many options and we got confused. The waiter was ever so helpful, told us he will serve us every dish in small portion. Something like a 7 course dinner type 😁 There was wheat puttu (bit sweet), sweat and savoury type paniyarams, wheat dosa, appam and coconut milk, adai.. And we lost the count 🤣🤣

It seems it’s not a good idea to trust Google reviews recently. The food and service was literally worst. 1. Soup - Average taste. 2. Hot pepper chicken- which was ordered as a starter came as a pepper chicken Semidry and no taste at all. 3. Hyderabadi biriyani- an orange coloured flavourless oily rice with some meat in it. I hope no Hyderabadi visit this place, he may die out of shock. 4. Phulka with butter chicken.- full of sweatness and no butter tasted. In spite of wasting so much money for the interior they should pay enough to get a proper chef. The server guy inside the ac section was on his phone watching videos even if u ask something he might bring if ur lucky. When most of dishes were returned without eating , he didn’t even find anything abnormal. May this is a usual practice for them.

Went here for lunch today. I was surprised by the ambience here. It gave a feeling of the old London that we see in old movies and i liked it very much. But that was the only thing I liked here.I ordered chicken soup,butter naan and malai kofta , which took an astounding 40 minutes to arrive.The chicken soup was okay , the butter naan was too thick and malai kofta was the worst. I have heard my friends say it was good when they were here last year but I wonder what happened now.The panneer kofta was so dry that I choked on it 2 times. Talking about the service, there was no water jug provided for the table and the waitresses come by to refill your glass , but were nowhere to be seen when water was needed (after eating).Also the whole restaurant seemed to have only 1 air conditioner for the entire restaurant, which was inadequate for this summer.I requested the waitresses to switch on the fan , but the request was ignored.I was drenched by the time i finished my lunch.Bill was also provided very late after my meal. Overall a below average experience.

I visited Grand Dine Restaurant in Thanjavur but had to leave immediately. The AC room had a strong unpleasant smell, and the handwashing area was also unhygienic with a bad odor. Because of this, I couldn’t even stay to try the food. Cleanliness is very important in a restaurant, and I hope the management takes this seriously.

Well, the location itself has limited options that serve non-veg so this is perhaps among the decent ones. That said, the service sucks. The night we headed for dinner, it took them 20 minutes to even acknowledge us and another 30 mins for the food to arrive. We had naan and a couple of varieties of chicken dishes, which were okay (nothing great). Then we ordered some chapattis and boy we left most of it there since they were undercooked. Also, the plates were old with full of scratches.. unsure how clean they were. Overall, disappointed.

The service was good too, there was a little confusion between us and the waiter over the water but he patiently catered to our repeated requests. We visited Sahan Restaurant near the old bus stand (opposite Aathikalathu Alangara Maligai) and tried their Alfaham Chicken Mandi. It costs around ₹1050 for 4 persons, and it was absolutely worth it! The taste was delicious, the portion was good for sharing, and the dining experience was excellent. The ambience is really nice and comfortable, perfect for a family or friends’ outing. If you’re in Thanjavur and looking for a must-try food spot, I’d highly recommend visiting Sahan Restaurant. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

Two days ago, we visited this restaurant and noticed that “Mandi” was listed as the special of the day. We ordered the Alfaham Mandi, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The Alfaham had no aroma or flavor — it didn’t have any proper masala at all. The Mandi rice tasted like plain boiled rice with no seasoning or taste. We’ve had Mandi at many places before, but this one had absolutely no flavor or smell. I can’t comment on the other dishes, but this one was terrible. Also, paying ₹630 for a half Alfaham Mandi felt quite overpriced considering the quality.

Sahan Restaurant, Thanjavur ,The experience is mixed. Their Biriyani is truly excellent—it’s flavorful, aromatic. But I found the Mandi to be disappointing; the chicken not cooked well ,it lacks taste and authenticity. Stick strictly to the Biriyani for a great meal here.

This place is in medical college road and economical. Service was very good and the owner has a very good rapport with the customers and ensures they are served well.

Situated in the Medical College Road and accessibility is easy. We went for taking lunch. They give half square meal at 50% rate. This is somewhat unique and that half meal food is sufficient for younger people. Food is served in plantain leaves and staff are courteous. Cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel is wanting. But it is a popular vegetarian hotel in that Road.

I went to this Hotel to eat some food. I ordered mushroom biriyani I wait for morethan 25 minutes .No one serve my ordered food .Atlast I asked to one service lady about my food who worked in that hotel.After that she went inside and came out with food.She told ur food is here.I tasted that food i got disappointed about that food.That is not a freshly prepared food.It has no taste at all.it was already spoiled .i think it was the spoiled food .I asked her about it but she refused about that.I am 30 years old till i ever went this type of hotel...Today is my bad time i went to that hotel. I went here to have some authentic South Indian meals but the meal was not available as it was post 3 so settled up eating some Vadas and they were amazing in taste even though they were served ice cold. The filter coffee was too good and as strong as I requested, very pocket-friendly place it is.

Ordered a plain/rava dosa. Was fresh and tasty, accompanied with a delicious and hearty serving of sambar and chutney. Good filter coffee. Served with a smile. Frequently visited by locals for their daily breakfast fix/coffee.

This place has shifted from its old address. So if youy are going there, find out the exact address. However, if you go to the old address you'll eat at hotel Ganapathy, as i did. Their food is awesome as well. But i guess for a person from Chennai any food at thanjore will be awesome. The coconut chutney was super awesome. Rava onion and vada exceeds expectations. Giving four stars only because of the initial let down if finding that it was not coffee palace.

This is the first ever coffee palace hotel. The other two are newly built. If one wants to savor the best of south Indian breakfast, this is the place. Rates are so nominal. Must eat: Rava Dosa, Filter Coffee. If you reach the place between 4 pm - 6 pm, you will get amazing evening snacks that changes daily. 5* taste, 5* value for money. The hotel is very old, so dont go by the looks. Everything is served on banana leaf :)

Coffe and rawa dosai is great with Arachu vitta sambhar (authentic Tanjore dish)which is made with freshly roasted and grounded spices , other dishes are ok. It's quite difficult to park a car in this street.

Go back to the authentic coffee and breakfast place. It's within the Big Temple complex. Their coffee is bliss. And the idli and curry is superb. Simple but superb.

A must try coffee near Kumbheswara temple, kumbakonam. DEGREE COFFEE they serve since 1914 and it is very famous. The unique taste will make you addicted to it if try once. The making style is also unique and you can watch it there. A coffee costs 40 rupees but it worths it. A must try coffee if you visit tamilnadu, Kumbakonam area. Highly recommended.

I recently stayed at Hotel Gnanam, referred by a friend(Mr.Jonny) whose relative owns this wonderful place. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed, and the service was exceptional. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making my stay very pleasant. The authentic South Indian food was absolutely delicious and felt like a true home-cooked meal. A special mention to the Owner(CEO), who is incredibly polite, humble, and welcoming. He personally ensured that guests felt comfortable and well taken care of, which made the experience even more special. I’m grateful to my friend for recommending this hotel and would highly recommend Hotel Gnanam to anyone looking for excellent hospitality and a memorable stay.

The location of this hotel is excellent! The temple is very near and so are many restaurants. The hotel and the rooms were clean and maintained well. However, the floor of the room was super dusty and even after asking them to come and mop it, they cleaned it for under a minute and the floor stayed dusty. The breakfast was very good and there was a good spread as well, with fruits and all. The beds were super firm and comfortable. There was also a balcony with our room. The only problem is that it was quite noisy being in the middle of the market, also there was some generator going on in the adjacent building till late in the night - I did not mind it (being so tired from all the travel) but my husband could not sleep well because of it.

had the worst experience with the receptionist at this hotel. From the very beginning, the attitude was unwelcoming and unhelpful, which really set a negative tone for my stay. Instead of feeling like a valued guest, I felt dismissed and ignored. Hospitality should begin at the front desk, and unfortunately, this hotel failed in that regard. I hope the management addresses this issue, as it ruins what could otherwise be a decent experience.

When we enquire about this aravinth staff no proper respinsible answer and no proper response given.

We were given a room in the first floor with a view of the city outside. I complained. Although they could not find an immediate solution they offered us to relocate us to another room. However, we politely refused since we were anyway leaving the next morning.

Far removed from the hustle, nestled among lush fields, in a off-beat location. Located on the riverbank, wonderful views. Esp at night, with illumination. Great rooms, well maintained, squeaky clean, well thought out furniture (they have a good clothes drying rack). Bathroom is every vacationers dream. But what set this holiday apart were the staff. From reception, to housekeeping, to security, to the restaurant staff. Everyone was kind and ready to do their job. F&B manager Mr. Rajesh made our food experience most memorable and our stay experience very homely. He was always available, spoke to every guest and made everyone comfortable. We do hope to visit again.

I visited Thevar Biriyani after seeing it listed among the best restaurants in Thanjavur on Google. Honestly, the experience was average. The biriyani was decent in quantity but nothing extraordinary in taste, and the fish I ordered alongside was also just okay. It’s not the best biriyani I’ve had, but it works as a convenient stop for a meal if you’re passing through.

Biryani taste is very bad and oily. Tastes like kuska Or tomato rice. Less mutton pieces. Don't try CHETTINAD CHICKEN GRAVY. BAD TASTE. VERY WATERY. DHANIYA FLAVOUR IS HIGH. VERY disappointed.

During my last visit to Tanjore, my relative suggested this Thevars biryani hotel which is a famous place for non veg items in Tanjore. We had both Mutton and chicken biryani - Mutton biryani was priced around 220rs.the Mutton pieces were tender and well cooked. This seeraga samba Biryani had mild aroma with a home style taste. And Quantity provided for more than sufficient for a person. When I posted about the same in my YouTube community page, most people agreed with me, but there were few who argued that this restaurant lost its old taste. Anyways if you are in Tanjore, do try their biryani They have both Ac and non ac seating - and it's suited for families too. There is a paid govt parking space just opposite to restaurant, so no worries about parking your car

After along time I taste this type of briyani it's really awesome and good. Must try mutton biryani and coconut fish fry it's really very good and different. There is dish called mutton 88. I never tried that if anyone tried it please let me know. Will try it in next visit

It's the best you can have. As a North Indian, my review for this South Indian restaurant, is delicious in one word!. You can really enjoy, chicken, mutton biriyani with various gravy and dry fry options. In mutton you can also have the leg bones (Nali mutton gravy). You can definitely try your appetite to satisfy your drought full feeling of eating non-veg. Fish also available here. If you are having a expandable nonveg option, apparently you can satisfy your stomach and enjoy your lunch or dinner. The hotness of the spices is tolerable or you can customize according to your taste. Better go with medium hotness ( wrt chilli). I recommend you can surely try, and hope you enjoy the food. We went here with my family on the way to velankanni. We felt the food could have been far better. It costed us 2200 for six people. However the food was not as expected. Mutton omelette and Kola urunda is a must try.

I loved loved loved the Biriyani here! I'm not from around, and for me this was the perfect dish of the day! The Fish was fresh and oiled as the dish suggested. The Prawn Manchurian was fresh and delicious. The Tandoori was not all great but okay. The Ambience was a bit too noisy for me but the service was good. The staff was friendly who explained to me all about the Chettinad Cuisine. The value for money was really good. Worth the price! I would say for me the pit stop after a long drive from Nagpatnam definitely made me smile.

Horrible experience, went after a tiring trip from Velankani. We wanted to eat meals and had a long journey ahead to Bangalore. Ordered non veg meals which doesn’t have any non veg other than a cm long piece of fish. Mutton curry which had a piece normally we throw away. (Pic attached). Waiter kept asking for side dish around 6 times as if you don’t take you are not worth enough to eat there. Had a horrible experience and wouldn’t recommend anyone looking to eat with dignity. We ordered twice while staying in thanjavur via swiggy and zomato. The packaging was very good. The coffee was hot enough even after 20 minutes of delivery. I personally like the pongal and rava dosai. The service has been very good, attending to every need. There is plenty of parking, hence no issues there.

Unfortunately the waiting system for the table is unorganised as the restaurant was crowded and it took some times to sit. Hope the management take initiative onnmaking an organised waiting system.

Worst staff management. Ragunathan - looks like a manager there, wore suit, with zero efforts to arrange a table for a family of 2 with 1-2yr old kid. From the photo you can see there are lots of table vacant. A good restaurant compared to its peers in the region. The ambience was good and the food was good too. The service could have been better as the thing we ask for either takes many requests or many minutes to arrive, it's the case even for a few tissues and the accompaniments. A good place to visit if you are looking to have a nice dinner with your family in Kumbakonam. I found the price to be fair for their offerings when compared to similar restaurants in other places.

Saw some of the reviews and agree its abit overrated. Biryani rice taste was average - could see uniqueness. Meat however was well done. As a biryani outlet, I definitely expected more. I don't see going to this place more than once. The starters however were not bad options.

We really had a bad experience. Mutton briyani was too salty and cold. The fried rice was very average, and the dragon chicken had no quantity. Overall very poor... Stopped in this place and got take away of Mutton Biryani, Grilled chicken, pepper chicken with chicken Fried rice. All the items were tasty and very good. The pepper chicken is a must try. The prices are also ok and this place has parking in front by the road and had to wait in reception for long to get the ordered items.

Fried rice what they serving is burnt rice with zero taste . When they taking order they are not listening and no patience. Water jugs are not cleaned properly just with room temp water

Thr rice is so soft, textured and well cooked ❤️ and it tasted good along with the chicken piece . The manager given us the rate list as: Paneer tikka: 160 Paneer manchurian: 140 Tandoori chicken: 360 Fish tikka: 180 But he charged 380 fr tandoori chicken 220 fr fish tikka & rest same as rate list The quantity & quality was below par Especially Fish tikka was only 6 very very small pieces that too bad in taste, hardly ₹ 50 worth. Tastes good! But staff should learn how to be helpful for PRMD (Partially Reduced Mobility or Disability) people. Today I've visited and no one has come forwarded to help my mom while exiting out of the restaurant though the staff were busy watching TV. Non veg with very less spice won't go well with any south Indian. Spice is to the level we can feed to toddler. Meals not having sambar and veg subji . Tanjore rasam far below expectation. Briyani is very nice. Again can add little spice but still very good. Fish podi mass is good. Fish gravy is pathetic. Must improve serving speed for meals. Waiting to get next course of rice is very bad. Still a place to enjoy your non veg.

Limited parking space available. Both open and closed seating arrangement available. It's a multi cuisine restaurant. I visited on Pongal late night. Hence, most of the food items were not available. But despite whatever was available, the food served to us was best. Best of all was Afghani Chicken,paneer gravy and fresh lime soda(sweet and salt). Bill was 1200 for 4 person. The only thing which wasn't good was table cleanliness; need to clean tables timely and properly & restroom wasn't too good. A tip is to visit before 10pm.

A total waste of money! We as a group stepped in to Thanjai Thambi Vilas based on a few Thanjai friends' recommendation and decided to order Asaiva virundhu priced at Rs399 per plate. Sadly none of the 7 folks who ordered the meals finished (not even talking about satisfaction here) The fare was so so so average and a complete disappointment. Though we were wary of Thambi Vilas' reputation in Chennai and their subsequent closure, we still decided to skip Pattukottai Kamatchi mess thinking they won't let us down at Thanjai. A colossal waste of food and around 3000 rupees which could have been put to better use! The best part, the naatukozhi kozhambu they with the meals came without even a shred of chicken (and had beans in it) and tasted more like the kurma for chapathi and the guy in charge replied saying it was paya style chicken gravy (come on, who does naatukozhi kozhambu in paya style) I escaped partially by ordering Egg Biriyani only to be served with some avg biriyani which we just luke warm. And the menu mentions Basmati rice biriyani but all we got was more of seeragasamba type broken biriyani (I'd say it was more like ration arisi biriyani)

To try the local thanjavur regional style of food preparation, come to this place. Small onion mutton fry was very good. Do try it. Other dishes to try are Teetar Pepper Fry, mutton chukka and potalam biryani.

Being foodie I have been to many restaurants, but this is the first time i got a shock of menu which says non veg virundhu and charging 399plus taxes , but they gave a regular non veg meals, and the taste of that meals is even worst night mare, have u heard nattukozhi gravy in paya style and that too beans in it, no wonder they have closed many branches in Chennai, but doing this kind of worst food in their base town in Tanjore is nail on the coffin!!!!

The location of the hotel was perfect. There's good amount of space for car parking. We went for a dinner and there was no wait time. Their chicken lappa was great! Mutton starters were bad. They were in fact badly cooked. Prawns pepper fry was bad too. The prawns and the gravy didn't go well with each other. The service was excellent though! Overall, we had high expectations, but we're disappointed. The dishes are not worth the price that you pay too!

Hotel Ganesh group and Thevars Group have partnered / amalgamated and now the name of the restaurant has changed … We had these three items … 1) Tamilnadu Meals ..₹120 … this is our typical stuff like koottu poriyal … sambhar puzhikulambu etc … it was just routine … I found something missing in taste … no Paruppu , no ghee , no dhal … I thought our trichy Sundar Nagar Gowri Parvathy Bhawan is far better than this 2) North Indian meals … ₹160 … it was slight disappointment… they offered panner butter masala which was very less in quantity … other things were routine .. 3) curd rice at ₹60 was just average … not done well … curd rice need add ups .. They gave portion of their Andhra Meals stuff … sort of small fries and some unique snack … Overall slightly disappointing experience… Still ok … Paid by UPI …

We have train to board on 6:30 so we cant wait till that time. So we ordered chappathi chappathi was nice and chana masala was good but yhe other curry they served was not that much better. This hotel charges extra. They have a menu, but they scammed us by taking extra 10₹ for every dish. When we enquired the hotel owner first said it is parcel charge. But dined at the hotel, when we said this, he said it is not parcel the rate is increased, they forgot to update the menu, he was then telling he cannot refund. They took extra 40₹, he said he will refund 20₹ but we were reluctant. We wanted our money back, even the hotel worker supported us. The butterchicken tasted like payasam. It was so sweet. The dosa didn't had chutney or sambhar which they didn't tell prior. After i got the dosa, i asked them for sambhar chutney, they said the dosa has only chicken kuruma gravy.

May look like that one great old mess which will serve you some tasty old foods. But no it doesn't seem like nothing is tasty here. And the prices are that of regular hotels. Calculate the rates if I say a parotta costs Rs. 15 per piece.

Worst hotel in Thanjavur the food quality and taste was too bad and price is too high they charging 250 rupees for mutton biriyani but the biriyani quantity was very low and the ambiance also not good.

I recently dined at this hotel and was extremely disappointed. I tried the chicken biryani and chicken 65; both dishes were very average in taste and the portions were small, especially considering the high cost of ₹160 per biryani. It was definitely not worth the money. The service was terrible as well; despite ordering in advance, the server took a long time to bring out a single dish. The ambiance was also poor, with a lack of hygiene. I would have given this hotel 0 stars if it were possible, but I had to settle for 1 star.

Briyani is good but the service is not satisfactory. We went here on Sunday around 2.30pm. We didn't get anything except briyani and some side dish, even for briyani we waited nearly half an hour. The fish we tried is simply waste of money.

We have visited this restaurant on our thanjavur visit, and I would say this is the worst and worstest restaurant i have ever visited in my life, we have ordered chicken biryani, mutton biryani, butter nan, butter chicken. After sitting for a decade we got our biryanis, which was utter flop, rice was too spicy and filled with masalas, and the served chicken leg pieces which wasn’t cooked well, And you know one thing, they didn’t even serve the butter nan and butter chicken. So if you guys have a lot of time in your life and you don’t care about your gut, please do visit this restaurant 😅 PS: Google, please give an option to post 0 star review.

Remote area with peacefully location. This hotel looks like 3 star facility hotel. It looks like cottage but with in normal residential are. Here we can saw the many residential houses around hotel and herethat residential peoples are very decent. Many celebrities and cinema stars stay here, but residential peoples won't disturb or interup the hotel customers.

If you are looking for a swanky place. Skip this. This is not a hotel. This is more like an apartment with bedrooms, dining room, kitchen etc., Price is moderate compared to hotels and I found it to be cheaper than a proper hotel. We stayed here as a family of 4 with our pet. Rented a 2 bedroom for 2 days. Rooms were reasonably clean. Hot water was available in one bathroom. Functional AC in both bedrooms. The interior design is a bit weird with tiled walls in all the rooms. The linen was laundered, but not spotless. They looked worn out. Hotel staff are very courteous and helpful. If you need something, ask them and they will give it. We wanted a mosquito repellent and they had one. They also attended to any help requests immediately. We did not use the restaurant and ended up using swiggy as the hotel is right outside Thanjavur city. The property is inside a colony that has lot of empty spaces and is quiet. We noticed a film crew that was using the property for their stay. They had a huge kitchen setup operating outside the hotel and their supplies were stocked in the hotel lobby and some kitchen staff used the lobby to do prep work for their cooking. Especially cutting veggies. The film crew were am sure more than 10 or in 10s. We did not mind it. In fact I liked the smell of fresh cut veggies . But painting a picture so that people know what to expect. There are 2 convenience stores within the colony, one operated by the hotel itself. Our pet enjoyed the stay and walking her in the colony was an adventure in itself with all the colony dogs protesting the intruder. Thankfully it did not go past that. There is enough vacant space in the colony for our dog to do its business. There is a covered car park in the form a shed where 5 to 8 cars can be parked. There is shade by the hotel to park your car otherwise too.

An average hotel. Covered car 🚗 parking 🅿️. Restaurant also is there. We were not provided complimentary breakfast. Not at all a cheap hotel. The attitude and behaviour of the staff is laudable.

Great value stay at hotel green palace. We took a 2 bhk with living, dining room and balcony. Rooms were clean. Provided bathrobes and toiletries were provided upon ask. It’s a bit far from the main temple around 7 kms. However, it’s a steal deal for the price provided. Wifi has connectivity issue which needs to be addressed in the first floor. They do have in house restaurant(Green Heaven). Food is okay and the quality needs to be improved.

Happened to stop by here on the highway when traveling towards kumbakonam. There were hardly any vegetarian hotels and this happened to be one of them. It’s a small and peaceful restaurant with vintage vibes. Feel like you’re living a 80s life. Food was so good and so affordable. Everything felt so fresh and the employees also seem content. This place serves most delicious South indian vegetarian food at good prices. Comparing the food quality with the price, the price may seem cheap. The staff is very courteous. During my four years stay at SASTRA University, i had sumptuous meals and dinner several times here. With its rustic setting and village atmosphere, this is a peaceful stop for the travellers towards trichy/thanjavur. The setting here reminds me most of the typical village atmosphere of tamilnadu. The main specialities here are 1. Meals (serves during lunch time for a price of 70/-) 2. Panangalkandu palu (milk mixed with palm sugar crystals... This would definitely make you to go to sleep) 3. The iconic kumbakonam kapi (coffee made with kumbakonam mixture of coffee powder). PS: I haven't been here since 1 year and the prices may have rised.

Was looking for an early morning breakfast on the way to Tanjavur! Found this amazing place for a hot brekafast. Felt like styaing there for a while to look out the heritage values, cozy ambiance, vintage artifacts of old traditional practices and tools used! It's kind of a mini museum, well maintained by its owner, a very young chap Mr. ASHWIN. Congrats to him and definitely a place to visit . Ofcoz hot delicious food served at his ally adjacent called " Namma ooru ildi". Mouth watering verieties of chutney and voracious list of dosas!!

One fine Sunday around 2 pm .I visit with my family for a lunch ..1st briyani quantity was good but quality not satisfied and I found a fly inside in my briyani plate ... Why you didn't use basmati rice for briyani because your briyani worst tast of cost 150+ and I am not satisfied and chicken tandoori was fine . Will check on my next visit and I think it will worth for my money to afford my lunch. Try to place one waiter atleast nearer 10 meters from table for picking next order we have to search people

Taste of the foods are not good and also seems pricey too. Service also not good. Even the MRP products are sold here higher than the MRP price. The staffs there are not even aware of the MRP. Simply they are saying that they are following owner’s order. I will not go to this place anymore.

I haven't ordered from them since an year and ordered recently and I was disappointed like anything. The portion size has been reduced so badly. This is one of my favorite shops for their quantity and quality. But not anymore. Ordering online is a trap it seems.

Customer service is awesome, we had awesome chicken crispy fry and crab lolly pop should try grill chicken instead of crispy. Decent parking facility available. Quite and comfortable for reunions.

Had chicken 65 briyani 260₹ Food taste is good but very expensive, not worthy for the price.. they dont have ac hall or great ambience for the price they charge. Since it looks like a small hotel thought it will be budget friendly but its not. For the same price there are many options with good ambience, sofa seating etc.

Visited the restaurant with 7 memeber family along with 6 children and the restaurant server is looked like a rogue and started with irritating answers for orders and not willing to take any customize order even the manager is not willing to provide. Looks like they are happy to keep these kind of people on work and argue with customer where I left with all the family members with out eating as we are humiliated there. Not clean dining, mayonise kept near shawarma making was old. So pls chk out before intake the food. If management want to continue in this manner kindly switch your profession to someother as you are not providing any free service here. Even for that you have to show respect to others.

Poorest place. I have ordered 2 boxes of white sauce pasta . It was not creamy at all. Take out the name ‘creamy chicken pasta’ and put it as dry poor pasta in swiggy. Also instead of mojito they gave some poor quality grape juice. That was spilled because of poor packaging and I got only 20 percent when it reached home.

Got cheated by the good reviews. Ice cream tasted bad and the prices are high. Bought bubble tea and there were so many ants floating in it. Too bad. Absolute waste of money. I have no clue, how it got so many good reviews!

The cook is so courteous and polite. We have been there for few times and we have been ordering our most favourite Double-Double chicken burger. The last time she asked if we dont like veggies because she noticed we always took it off of the burger and she was right. So she voluntarily switched those veggies for an omelette which was quite amazing and we loved it!!

Exotic flavours and fast delivery ...much before hunger runs into desperateness.... Tasty quick bites... which satiates the kids and grown up alike with their different super menu... a surprise and delightful find.. The highlight is they are serving some genuine tastes without any alteration on their part.. Which is itself difficult... Need to mention the soft pizza base and the freshly tended cheese topping over the pizza.

This restaurant’s ambience was nice and looks cool. But coming to the service it was very very poor. Delayed serving of food. Even for getting the plate they are taking 20 minutes.The server takes the order right after we entering the restaurant but took upto 30 to 35 mins to serve each things. Don’t chose this restaurant when you are in hurry because the waiting time for food will make everything collapsed. For a single dosa they are taking more than 25 minutes to serve even there is no crowd inside the restaurant. Very worst management. Staff inside were interested in chatting more than servicing customers. They even forgot what we ordered and they involved in chatting between them. Only particular North Indian dishes here are worth to try. Otherwise they are very poor. Even dosa was not worth to try here . They are charging upto Rs.95 for one dosa but that is not even worth for Rs.40. Waste of money. Waste of time. If you are looking for nice food, try some other worthy restaurant instead of this.

Don't buy food here.. recently I went to this restaurant to buy chicken biriyani in parcel. They have given rotten chicken in the biriyani and it has foul smell. I didn't eat it and I threw it away. It's one of the good restaurant in tanjore.. we have visited this place thrice only for evening snack.. yea worth it.. taste was good as per my expectation.. ambience is also good.. onion pakora with hot tea is really a best combo here.. :)
