Our favorite experience at entire Lake Como vacation! Little bit disappointed with mass tourism at Bellagio and commercialized food quality. We drove up the hills and fount this amazing place. Entire family is so happy! Fresh air, good views and amazing home made meals!

Fantastic experience and authentic north Italian cuisine. Great service and food came out fast. They were extremely attentive to a nut allergy and made sure to accommodate us. If you have a car in Bellagio it would be a shame if you didn’t stop in here. We went in at opening without a reservation and had no trouble getting a table for 4. We ordered polenta with mushrooms, polenta with braised beef, gnocchi with a pork cream sauce and a gnocchi with butter and sage all of which tasted exceptional and distinct. We also ordered a tiramisu and gelato which were just as good as our main dishes. There was a stupendous view on top of it all and a really authentic experience.

We had an amazing meal, love this place if you can get up the mountain go and enjoy the polenta and the different meats. Very cool, casual place with absolutely amazing reviews, please go before the sun is down.

The meal was absolutely delicious. We loved how welcoming the staff was. They gave us history on the local cuisine, the wine and food prices were very affordable, and the atmosphere was overall really nice. We loved this. We’ve been all over Italy and this was a top dinner for us!

Wow! What a view and what a menu. The place was absolutely fantastic, service was excellent and we were well attended to. It turned out we were the only English people there and the rest were locals. Probably the best I've eaten in a long time.

Wonderful little gem we discovered on a biking trip around Bellagio. We thought about having a short coffee brake but ended up having a full lunch experience :) Staff is amazing, food is wonderful - you absolutely have to try their many polenta main dishes and also go for the reinterpreted polenta dessert. I am so glad we found this gem in Como. The food is amazing, we ordered about 5 dishes and all of them were made fresh and with high quality ingredients. Bit to mention the flavors were so good! Also, the service was fantastic. The waiters were so nice and accommodating, and they treated us very well. I will definitely come back here when I’m in Como again.

We ate here twice, and both times it was spectacular! The menu had great variety and a creative flare! The pizza Cinque Terre is an example - goat cheese pesto and olives. And the pizza Frutti de Mare was loaded with fresh seafood! It’s a must try. Super friendly staff. And I even got an Italian lesson.

If you're a tourist, order your meal from the menu and don't rely on the waiter or the restaurant manager recommendation. At least check the price of each dish before paying. This way, you don't have to pay double the price, as happened to me at this restaurant, which ruined its delicious food and beautiful setting with fraud and deception.

It's a terrible place. Of all the restaurants in Como this is the worst. It takes too long to get your order, water, food. Due to my allergies, I can't eat certain foods, so I asked for a substitute and they offered to pay for the side dish, which I've never seen done before (please eat the bad-quality crackers yourself). This place doesn't have bad service, it just doesn't have any. I've never encountered anything like this. It's terrifying. And this place full of tourists, and I assume it's a standard tourist destination. This is the first and last time I'll visit it.

I had such a great experience here! The menu has lots of options, and everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The staff were super friendly and professional, and the service was fast. Greetings fellow travelers. Stop reading this review and come here right away for lunch or dinner. This establishment gets packed out quickly, so arrive early. The menu changes daily. The selection is always inviting. Order your heart's content. You will be surprised how fabulous it is. I tried their house wine, both the red and the white none disappointed, In fact it exceeded my expectations. The cuisine here is local and with local ingredients. Take note of their polenta. It is like nothing you've ever had before outside this area. I had to purchase several packages to take home. They also sell wine and other provisions at this trattoria. When I come back to Como this is the first place I will come to eat. The owner, Paola and her staff treat you with a warm welcome and serve you like your family. Praise is all I have for this trattoria.

A very rustic menu that was a welcome change from the burrata and pomodori you seem to find on every menu. Make a reservation as this place gets packed. Go in and let the owners guide you on what is the best of the day. Highlights for us were the gazpacho and the stuffed focaccia.

Lovely hidden gem in the old town of como. I recommend arrining shortly after opening since after arriving a lot of people have started queueing. The waiters were very friendly and forthcoming. We felt welcomed and appreciater. Overall it was truly a pleasant experience and I'd be happy to return again for lunch or dinner.

If you are staying multiple nights in Varena, then La Vista should be on your list as the view at sunset is unparalleled! Like most nice restaurants in Italy, make sure you have a reservation for dinner no matter what day of the week it is. The service here was slow and they seemed to continually assist other tables over our own. We sat with not even wine or bread for almost 30 minutes. The food was hit or miss for us. The risotto was by far the most tasty dish and all of us enjoyed the main courses; however, the desserts all fell short. The tiramisu was dry in the middle and the crème brûlée had split. All in all, we would still go back for the breathtaking view of Lake Como!

We showed up at the perfect time as someone was just leaving and so we were seated within a few minutes for dinner without a reservation. We were seated right by the window and enjoyed a beautiful view for a few minutes while the sun set. I got the risotto special which was perfectly cooked and incredible flavor. My husband got the mushroom ravioli which he really liked. I also got the dessert special of the day which was caramelized peaches with a cream and crumble and it was amazing!! My husband got the chocolate mousse which he said was so chocolatey and paired perfectly with the raspberry sauce they give you.

We had ribs and pasta for dinner. Super delicious. Tiramisu was perfect too :) We where with two toddlers and at first they counted coperta for all of us, but after noticing that they kindly changed the bill.

Great Ambiance and Wine, but a Catastrophic Menu Error Led to Total Service Failure We chose this restaurant based on a highly reliable recommendation from a close friend. Upon arrival, the beauty of the setting and the friendliness of the staff and the excellent wine list immediately made us hopeful for a wonderful evening. This is what makes the final result so disappointing. The issue began with a critical error on the English menu. I ordered a pasta dish described as containing " egg tagalini with red tuna batarga ." When the dish arrived, the flavor was overwhelmingly intense, tasting very salty and distinctly of gone-off fish. We immediately stopped eating it. We then took the time to translate the original Italian description ourselves, only to discover the dish was not "egg pasta with tuna," but fermented tuna eggs (bottarga). This is a massive, inexcusable translation mistake, as the actual ingredient is an acquired taste and vastly different from the palatable description we read. Furthermore, even accepting what it was, the quality was poor. (Our other dish, the beef skewers, was simply okay—nothing special.) When we politely explained the situation to the waiter and manager—pointing out that we were served a dish we couldn't eat due to their error on the menu—the response was shocking. The manager refused to offer an alternative, stating that the kitchen had already closed. He offered a quick apology but insisted on charging full price for the entirely inedible, mistranslated dish. The willingness to let a customer leave dissatisfied and pay for a meal they did not order, simply because the restaurant made a menu error and could not be bothered to correct it, demonstrates a profound failure in customer service. Final Verdict: Go for the atmosphere and the wine, but be extremely wary of the English menu translations, and know that if something goes wrong, management will not prioritize your experience. A real letdown after such a strong recommendation.

Found this place randomly when searching google maps and did not disappoint. We’re sat upstairs in the flower room which was a bit hot but fine. Burrata and the steak were divine and extensive wine list for all palates. Service was exceptional and prices are those expected of Como, we paid more for a lot worse in the centre of town!

The owner is friendly. Even though we arrived at 2pm, she assured us we were welcomed (as their closing time is 2:30pm). The food was delicious. We ordered beef carpaccio which is homemade. The venison ragu was excellent. Highly recommended!!!

I wish I could give this 6 stars. The family who owns this are so kind, and make the experience beyond anything we’ve experienced in Italy. If you are looking for a place that treats you like guests in their house, this is the place! Things to note, parking is behind or on the street. All the food is local, including the herbs from their own garden. With appetizers, 2 courses, and 5 bottles of wine, it came to about 100 Euro per person, which is a very fair price!

We came for lunch and our first impression was quite positive as the atmosphere is very relaxed and feels like home. For this reason, we would have expected a more friendly and proactive service. The food was fine (even if the dish that most of us wanted was actually not available and we weren’t told until we ordered) and the portions are very big.

A cozy Italian restaurant where I could relax with a range of comfort food. (Their Polenta was best for me !) Kind and friendly owner who is easy to communicate in English. They also have good bottles of wine and the chef himself is a qualified Sommelier ! Definitely recommend to visit !

What a wonderful first dinner in Como, Italy. Ivan and Nessi are awesome. Nessi was so warm and welcoming, she made us feel right at home in Italy. Her husband Ivan is an awesome chef and sommelier. Been there two days ago after two weeks trip in Italy. I went almost every night to an Italian restaurant, and La Costa is the best one. The food is home made,fresh, spices are just perfect, and the taste..... oh the taste. Will definitely go back in my next trip. Also, the price is really affordable comparing the other restaurants. Just perfetto!!!

This was one of the best meals we had at Lake Como. We ordered the blueberry risotto to share as a starter - unique flavor we both enjoyed. Then we had the duck and lamb - great flavor and would go back. They also serve several types of bread with amazing olive oil to start. Friendly service as well.

We went here for dinner our last night in the area and were very impressed! The staff, atmosphere, and food were all great. I recently dined in this Italian restaurant around Lake Como area, and I must say it was an superb culinary experience. The food was simply amazing, with every dish bursting with flavors. The fish was very fresh and delicious, and the risotto was a delight. The ambiance was equally delightful, in an almost 600 years old house that added to the overall experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, wine selections in their menu complemented the meal perfectly. Overall, this Italian restaurant in Lake Como left a lasting impression with its exceptional food. Incredible food and great service! We came here for lunch at opening time to find room (can be quite busy even for lunch), and had a delicious meal. The waiter was super friendly and helpful with recommendations, pairing the wine/prosecco with the food we ordered. And everything, especially the complimentary homemade bread with olive oil was delicious! Even the desserts were special, we had a drowned rum and espresso in ice cream. Highly recommend this place :)

La Fagurida was hands down the best restaurant we visited in Tremezzo. The food was absolutely amazing—authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The view from this restaurant is truly spectacular. It is quite mesmerising to look down on lake como surrounded by these rolling hills and seeing how beautifully every building has been built on such steep slopes. Our waitor was fantastic too. He was very helpful in explaining the menu to us and even teaching us some Italian! Unfortunately we were left a little disappointed with the food, especially since we had read such great reviews online about this place. We came here in September, the perfect time for Italian tomatoes but felt that both our caprese salad and out bruscetta could have done with some better tomatoes. The mozzarella was delicious! My rabbit ragu was quite dry. I understand that this is the texture of rabbit since it is quite a lean meat, however, this specific pasta was particularly lacking in my opinion. The fish was delicious too but we felt that the salad could have done with a little more dressing. The grilled vegetables were great. We also enjoyed our Tiramisu

Ristorante La Fagurida is an absolute gem perched above Lake Como- rustic, warm, and full of character. As soon as you sit down (especially if you get a terrace table), the view of the lake and hills sets the tone for a truly memorable meal! We tried the roasted rabbit with polenta, and it was outstanding. The rabbit was tender, perfectly seasoned, with a subtle aroma of herbs and grill, while the polenta beside it was creamy, rich, comforting, just what you want to soak up all the flavors! Everything felt homemade: the starters, the fresh antipasti... The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience feel personal, not just another dinner out. If you’re anywhere near Tremezzo, this is one of those places you shouldn’t miss La Fagurida delivers both heart and taste!

Let's start with the epic view. Well that's all there is to say about the view. It's epic. You'll love it. This place serves traditional, basic food. So if you're a vegan this probably won't be for you, everybody else will find something. The service was great and very friendly you feel instantly at home. Food is good, people are nice, views are...epic.

Crotto Isidoro is a pearl with traditional kitchen of northern Italy: polenta (cornmeal like a hot porridge, take Polenta Uncia - it’s amazing!), local unbelievable cheese, salsiccia (sausages), meat. Take set menu for 28.5€ including starters, main dish, wine, dessert, coffee and grappe and enjoy your traditional italian dinner. The restaurant is also a perfect view point. You will enjoy your food watching the best landscape of Como lake in front of you. Inside you can see also their own wine storage. Staff is super nice and helpful. Highly recommend!

Views are great, especially if you’re seated closest to the windows overlooking the lake. Service was so slow and food was not worth it. Food lacked flavor. Our steak was supposed to be crusted but ended up with a green veggie mush on top. We were recommended this place by our hotel concierge and was highly disappointed.

Big expectations, big disappointment! Beautiful views and exquisite food, but we were disappointed with the service overall. This was supposed to be a memorable night celebrating our 17th anniversary, but it turned out not special because of the poor and snobby service. The hostes couldn’t find our reservation and had an attitude about it, like if we were lying. Not friendly, not welcoming at all! The sommelier didn’t offer any suggestions on wine and when we told him what we had chosen he was very rude grabbing the menu from my husband’s hand and just walking away like if we had offended him. He apologized later after we complained he gave us a glass of champagne, but still with the same bad attitude, not sincere. Our waiter Diogo was very nice and attentive, I think the manager should hire him to train others. I would say the whole experience felt too touristy and not personal. I would go back for drinks at the hotel bar with the same views, not to La Terazza. The hotel is beautiful with the most beautiful gardens!

This was my first time dining at La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi at the Tremezzo 5 star hotel by Lake Como. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is beautifully and luxuriously decorated, and the restaurant itself is equally impressive in terms of layout and design, making you feel special from the very first step (congratulations for the candles at the entrance). We were 4 and ordered the 5-course tasting menu, and every dish was excellent, especially: • Astice alla crema di peperoni (1978) The lobster was perfectly sweet and tender, paired with a smooth sweet pepper sauce. The flavors were perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. • Riso, oro e zafferano (1981) The staff explained the story behind this dish wonderfully, helping me appreciate its uniqueness. The saffron risotto with gold flakes was delicate, and every bite was a true feast for both the eyes and the palate. The other courses were equally delightful, the seabass more than the veal. In addition to the food, I also had the opportunity to visit the kitchen, which was spectacular and very clean. The executive chef greeted me warmly, making me feel welcomed and giving insight into the professional kitchen management. Other highlights: • Some staff were cheerful, friendly, and provided excellent guidance about the dishes and wine pairings, making the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. • The plating and wine pairings were well thought out, enhancing the flavors of the dishes. Areas for improvement: • Some team members seemed unenthusiastic, which slightly affected the overall dining experience. • The bread served was somewhat stale, as if it had been stored for a while, and lacked freshness. - The dessert, Millefoglie, was good to see but really nothing special, not the grand final that you expect from such a unique (and expensive!) restaurant! Overall, this was a highly impressive experience in terms of food, decor, and atmosphere, though there are many points that in my opinion should be improved, to fully satisfy the expectations of a particularly attentive client, like my husband and I.

And the service was slow and felt disinterested in helping ensure our experience was pleasant. It also felt like the staff was annoyed we did not order the tasting menu. The sommelier also seemed annoyed we did not order a bottle and instead ordered a 40 EUR glass of wine (each) - lol. Nice atmosphere and views for dinner, but otherwise the whole experience is outdated and gimmicky - like fine dining in the 90s. The food itself was not remarkable, very hit or miss. Not entirely bad but we expected more given Gualtiero Marchesi’s legendary reputation. Several dishes were bland and lacked any depth of flavour, and some served lukewarm. If this were in any other location than Grand Hotel Tremezzo, there would be no appeal. Go for the setting more than the food, and only if you can get a table on the edge.

We visited this place this summer and left quite disappointed. It had been highly recommended, so my expectations were very high. Unfortunately, the only friendly person we encountered was the hostess – and that was it. It took a very long time before a waiter came to our table, and when I mentioned that I was hungry and asked if I could finally get a menu, the head waiter replied that he was very hungry too and walked away. Such a “joke” was absolutely inappropriate for a restaurant of this level. The service overall was unpleasant, and it felt like we were being treated differently compared to other tables. With the tables where ladies were accompanied by men, the staff seemed warm and welcoming, but with my friend and me the attitude was completely different. The food itself was not particularly tasty, and I didn’t enjoy it. My mood had already been spoiled by the poor hospitality. Of course, the atmosphere and the views were beautiful – that was the only thing that saved the evening. It would be wonderful if the staff could treat all guests with the same friendliness and smiles, whether they spend €1,000 or €250.

First an foremost, a big thank you for accommodating us in the room, because my wife was ill and not in anyways able to get ready for a nice restaurant like this. We had every course delivered to our room in outstanding quality; the caviar spaghetti are a most as well as the lobster macaroni. The two filets (veal and beef) were good as well. The tiramisu was great: not to sweet but full of flavour. As a wine enthusiast I also appreciate the wines by the glass (as I was the only drinker), with lynch moussas 2010 and a lovely puligny montrachet i didnt miss out on anything!

A very nice quiet restaurant to enjoy your meal in lake Como. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning and delight, no doubt about that. The food is good but not great imo. The veal is very nice to try, the fish is good, the cake is bit too hard but the taste is good. Overall if you gonna go here for the atmosphere and the experience it is a good choice.

Clean rooms & bathroom and comfy beds. They had kept tampons, moisturizer, sanitary pads in all women's room which was a well thought addition :-) Loved it! Well maintained kitchen. Was surprised to see they offered free pasta & few other basic ingredients for the clients. This even 5 star hotels don't do. Only challenge : Rooms are available in 1st, 2nd & 3rd floor but there are no lifts. That Should be mentioned in the website. I had my workout lugging my 20kgs suitcase 2 floors up when i checked in. Lively atmosphere with amazingly friendly staff :-) You don't get this customer service in best of the star hotels too. It's also close to the ferry point & train station. True value for money :-)

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! The location is perfect! Just steps away from a 24/7 Carrefour Market. Everything was spotless, the amenities were great, and the staff were absolutely amazing, super friendly and always willing to help. Adriano C. was especially helpful, along with many others who made my stay feel so welcoming. Highly recommend!!!

The staff was great here and the common areas are cool. Good location to walk around Como. Appeals to a younger crowd and the bar will be lively. I stayed 2 nights in a 6-bed room and unfortunately I could not wait to leave. Good people, but the room was worn out, some fixtures not working. The bed frames have metal storage bins under them which cause obnoxious screeching noises when being accessed. I personally do not like when hostel bathrooms are located in the room, especially when the door is right next to my head and ventilation is poor. The shower is at floor level, causing sloppy wet floors. The bathroom overall was approaching dingy. There was only one common-area bathroom available for this section as far as I could tell. I also got bit at night with a suspiciously linear set of bites. I can't confirm I saw any, but I strongly suspect. Not the worst experience here, but I think they could do way better specifically with improving the rooms.

By far the best hostel experience I've had while travelling. The location is perfect and it's the main activity hub for travellers to Como. The staff are awesome. Especially Adriano, who even offered to take us on a free walking tour of the city! Definitely recommend staying here if you're on a budget or just want to meet new people!

Perfect for solo travelers. A very sociable Hostel. This is what every hostel should be like. They host activities every night so it’s very easy to meet new people. Also locals go to the bar here, so it’s not just tourists. A bit expensive in comparison to other hostels, but there’s also free food of good quality. It’s worth it.

I had the best experience at Ostello Bello Como! The vibes are amazing, and the whole team is super welcoming. The room was spacious, and the common areas were great. We had such a good time at the family dinner hosted by Maddie — the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so much fun

My family had dinner on a Friday night. 2 adults and one 2 years old. Amazing food and great atmosphere! Perfect risotto con persico! The service at the table was impeccable. The welcoming at the door can improve being happy if customers are coming in at 7 pm as soon as the restaurant opens.

Amazing place! I’d give it 100/10. Cozy, beautiful, with friendly staff. And the food! So beautifully presented. And most importantly—absolutely delicious! I’ll gladly return to this place. I can’t wait to have what we ordered again and try something new.

Our best dinner in Como! The service from Aykut was outstanding. The menu is very diverse, fairly priced & the dishes are beautifully presented. We enjoyed the rib eye, tagliatelle pasta with prawns & shrimp, pear & Brie salad with beets, walnuts, peas & green beans as well as the donkey ragu! We ordered a bottle of Valpolicella Ripasso & it was delicious.

Service, presentation and place decor was great. Food 2. We had arancini, and salads. Both tasteless.The marinated seafood was as good as water from the supermarket. I see lots of fruits in the menu. I guess the fruits are tasty. The rest not. Do not understand the good reviews.

Absolutely amazing. We had the Catch of the day, which was amazing, so delicious. The service was amazing, very welcoming, we had no reservations but they were able to accommodate us. Highly recommend.

We needed a salad and could not have chosen a better place! Amazing options and one of the most incredibly tasty ones I’ve ever had!

My husband and I shared one of their beautiful salads. Then I ordered the risotto with fried perch and my husband had the veal milanese. Oh my goodness!! Everything was fresh and melted in our mouths! Our server was helpful and wonderful. A absolutely perfect remembrance.

There was no other place to stay. The head bartender was really rude, didn’t really talk to us and seemed bored. The restaurant’s bathroom was a bit bad but okay. The hostel didn’t have any common area to hang out in, which would have been necessary. The women’s bathroom was quite good and fairly clean. The room was REALLY hot — I could barely sleep even though there was a fan. Otherwise, the room was nice and good, the beds were comfortable and clean. Still, I wouldn’t go again.

I really liked this hostel! The staff were really friendly and helpful regarding the area and stuff to do. The location is far from Como, you get there by bus or boat, both 1 hour, which was a downside but I didn’t mind. Besides the restaurant downstairs (which I really recommend) there aren’t really any open social spaces. The rooms were amazing and so so clean and nice. The lockers underneath the bed worked great, the separate bathrooms were okay, not the cleanest ever but what you would expect after a bunch of guests use them. The view out of my window was amazing!

Amazing hostel, excellent customer service, restaurant/bar is cosy and has beautiful views of Lake Como, 2nd floor looks quite new, short walking distance to ferry wharf and bus stop to get to other famous towns easily. Thank you especially to Matilda and Linda upon my check in - I was off to a bit of a rocky start (missed my bus stop, walked 15 mins in the rain, accidentally went through the back entrance up a lot of stairs - with a large rolling suitcase), but they really went above and beyond and turned my experience around. Matilda was very friendly and offered practical advice about things to do and welcomed any questions about the area as well. Restaurant/Bar offers coffee/drinks and leftover pastries available all day (handy if you’re feeling like something small as everything in Lake Como is basically closed between brekky/lunch/dinner times). It has a very convenient QR code menu system. Rooms are very clean - private room with private bathroom was great. Thanks again guys, would highly recommend - best to book direct ☺️ oh and also, another thing to add to their wonderful hospitality was the inclusion of a free drink voucher (this wasn’t even advertised on the booking). Reception isn’t 24/7 but there is a staff onsite if needed, and a back door entrance with a code. Emergency procedures were also mentioned upon check in which I thought was thoughtful and a great initiative as other accommodations/hotels don’t even do this - which I appreciated. It’s only my second solo trip and as a female traveller from Australia, safety is extremely important. I felt very safe.

We stayed in a shared female dorm (8 people) and these were the highlights: The view from our bedroom was amazing. The pricing is reasonable. The beds were comfortable. Our roomates were nice, talkative and respectful. Things you should know before staying: People shower around the same time (20pm - 22pm) and there might not be hot water. Early in the morning you might be able to shower with hot water but in shared doorms you might wake up the others. The shared bathroom was really small and the floor got dirty realy easily because of the shower's water and footprints. Some roomates were not as clean as expected (they did not clean the sink after using it and the terrace was kind of messy). There is no microwave for guests to use. Would have been nice to have one. The lockers are great for having everything in one place (as there are no shelfs) but they will not keep your things safe from theft. Neverhteless, we felt safe in the hostel.

Great location, great staff and good restaurant but I found it very noisy so difficult to sleep. There seems to be an international door slamming competition day and night! There isn't any air con so u have to leave your window open but people are coming and going at all hours and sit talking outside till early morning. So all and all it's worth the stay but in isn't very restful.

Service from staff was really good never had any problems and also the location was really good being not to far from the town centre and nearby to the ferry port so you could get from place to place. The room however was another story, when my friends and I arrived there was a fan being held together by tape and ties which later exploded and fried all the electrics in the room, the bathroom also has mould which has obviously been painted over which made it smell horrific. The worst part was the heat in the room it was swelteringly hot even with all the windows open and using the broken fan. After consulting the staff we were given a new fan which we had to assemble ourselves. Other than the room being I felt unsanitary and too warm to handle, everything else seemed adequate. The food was good pricing although it was very average.

Got a table towards the end of lunch without a reservation and it was one of the best (if not best) meals of the trip. The pasta was amazing, with the flavors of the cheese perfectly shining through. Eggplant Parmesan was incredible; everything about it felt elevated. Affogato was a delicious end to the meal. While we didn't need to put down a 100 Euro deposit for a reservation, I wouldn't hesitate to do it. This place is definitely worth it!

I was super nervous that I wouldn’t be able to get a table as they don’t accept reservations online or by phone. For dinner, you can secure a reservation for a €100+ cash deposit. I arrived at exactly noon for lunch and despite their signage stating that they were full and stanchions blocking entry, I called over the host and asked for a table for two. He sat us immediately. Despite the restaurant being rather empty, the host did cherry pick who he allowed to dine there. I couldn’t really tell what the requirements were but he seemed to choose tourists that weren’t dressed like tourists, those that greeted him, and those with small parties. If a crowd formed, he would deny everyone lined up. Despite the reviews about the host and staff, they treated us incredibly well, stopping by multiple times to check in and ensure we were enjoying our meals. The food was also good! I got the lamp chops which i’d recommend. If you can’t get in for dinner, try lunch! I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting Varenna.

In over 4 decades of travelling to Italy, this is, without doubt, my absolute favourite restaurant in all of Italy. We leave each time with wonderful memories, and when we return the meal surpasses those memories. It’s that good. Every single bite. Great host and staff, whose job I’m sure is made so very easy by the magnificent kitchen. Do yourself a favour. If at all possible eat here once before you die 😀

Sublime and spectacular. We shared the piping-hot melted tomme cheese and grilled vegetable starter. My husband devoured his gorgeous rib-eye steak while I had the sea bass. For dessert? A shared cheesecake topped with crumbled crisp meringue and perfect raspberries. We feel so well fed and cared for.

The lamb chops were sooo good!! The bread they served was also fresh and delicious — I especially loved the green one, maybe it had pistachio in it. I’ll definitely visit this restaurant again if I come back to Varenna!

Great on all aspects, the food Is local, well prepared and properly explained when served. Everything was byeond good, you could feel a special touch on both the tagliatelle and the lasagna. A good wine and very nice service makes this place the one not to miss in Varenna. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

One of the best meals we had in Italy, everything we ordered was a standout dish. Highly recommend the lake fish mains or the tasting platter which came with fish pâté, grilled fish and their smoked local speciality. We also enjoyed the lamb chops and porcini beef lasagna, which were plated wonderfully and packed full of flavour — even the sautéed veggies, potato gratin and small fruits on the side were top-notch! The pavlova and warmed peach cake with ice cream were the perfect sweet notes to end our meal. Really appreciate the service here too. The staff were so kind to seat us even though we arrived 30min before their closing time for lunch, and never rushed us through the meal even past their lunch opening hours. They remained friendly and attentive throughout! Thank you for a great meal here.

Found this restaurant on Google offering seafood options. Made a booking via phone call. They have a valet who will find a parking spot for you if you are coming in your car. The seating area is quite nice with both indoor and outdoor seating options. We ordered fish and chips and Pasta with fish. They have locally sourced fish from the lake so it’s not like typical fish and chips but still tasted good enough for the kids. We also tried desert, their 3 cakes and all tasted very good. Overall a great restaurant providing great options. The prices are mid++ but you do get great food.

We were a party of 4 and had a spectacular dinner last night. The food was delicious, their house white wine was one of the best we have had, the service was excellent and the ambiance exceptional. Make sure to make reservations beforehand. If you are not staying in this area it’s worth coming and enjoy an authentic meal from this region.

Great place to try local fish. The menu is very thick as they offer so many different ways to prepare the fish fillet. I highly recommend to try the three fillets in one plate option.

Menu is easy - Diiferent variations of fish fillet - simple and tasty. Fillet of lake local fish - lavarello. Reasonably low prices, very good garden and excellent service. Vine list is ok, as well desserts. Very pipular among local people. Highly reccommended.

Just amazing ! The service is incredible, we had Prosecco at arrival and the waitress took the time to explain all the dishes in a near perfect English. We then had the chance to walk in the kitchen in order to see how the fish was prepared which was a great experience. The restaurant has a lot of confidence in its employees and everything was pristine. The whole meal was delicious, we got linguine and fish cooked in three different ways, and dessert. Add a bottle of wine sourced from around the lake, and the whole bill was only 65 euros ! Thanks so much for such a delightful experience

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Bellagio. My daughter and I had the pasta bolognese and it was very tasty. My wife ordered a salad with shrimp. My mother enjoyed the minestrone soup- it was a very large portion. And my son had the spaghetti with garlic and hot pepper. He enjoyed it a lot. I also enjoyed the house red wine- a great value. I’d come back again.

We ordered the spaghetti carbonara, mixed salad, fries and the ham artichoke pizza. Carbonara was very salty, hard to eat. Fries and salad were good. pizza was just ok. Friendly service.

I had one of the best diavolo pizza here, it tasted fantastic, loved it, same for the pasta. The place is quit busy but we received our order pretty quickly. The price was similar to surrounding restaurants, fully recommended place to eat 😉 One extra toilet would be nice to avoid the queue, but this is just a note.

This is hands down the best restaurant we ate at on the entire lake Como, and we stayed here 2 weeks trying a different restaurant everyday. Don’t be deterred by the simple decor of this place. It really is a hidden gem in the corner of an ally, with the best service and food we had. The carbonnara is by far the best authentic carbonara (guanciale and pecorino) on the lake for a great price. We also had the steak, tomato pasta, Parma ham bruschetta, blueberry and talleggio (amazing) pasta, and seafood pasta as well as the bresaola pizza and all were remarkable! We came back on our last night for my birthday and the entire team came out to sing me a very loud and enthusiastic happy birthday, it made my day 😊. Thank you to everyone who was working on the night of August 29th 😁

We had an amazing dinner at Pronobis. The quality of the food was excellent. The mixed cold cuts and cheese platter was delicious. It was accompanied by a nice, soft bread (unlike all the stale bread we had at Italian restaurants so far). The lasagne was enormous and the best I ever had! We were served by a lovely lady with little English language skills, but together we managed to make it work. Prices are really affordable too.

This was an excellent kickoff to our time in Como. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I really appreciated that he took a little extra time asking about us and where we’re from creating a nice connection at the start. He also helped us in ordering our meat and cheese board for the appropriate size given our plans for the rest of our evening. The wine was amazing and the board was top quality meats and cheese. Highly recommend!

The Pronobis offer genuinely great Italian customer service! The cold cuts and cheese for two was massive, the (white) wine was great and the atmosphere was quite the opposite of what you get when you try to avoid crowds in the lake shore. If you are looking for quality service and excellent food, this is the place! Six stars out of five! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Friendly staff, normal food. “Chickpea cream” is actually a soup not a cream, we were very surprised after all the discription of the food (we said is it like hummus?) it turned out to be soup. Also okay wines

The gent who waited on us was a wonderful person. His service was so friendly that it upset me to see the place as quiet as it was (at about 7:00pm Thursday). Me and my partner had the lasagne which was immaculate, wouldn’t change a thing. I am also not very wine-knowledgeable and his suggestions and expertise helped me find a wine I really enjoyed. I’ve been to a few Italian restaurants at this stage of my holiday, including a Michelin star, and this has place has been my favourite. I hope more people continue to go and enjoy this place.

No crowds at 8am Not clear how to pick some local gems that are not available in Carrefour.

This place is fine — we bought some really good bread here. But be careful with the first fruit stand on the right-hand side at the entrance. They don’t allow customers to touch the fruits, and the ones the owner brought out from the back were quite different from the ones displayed in front. Some persimmons were overripe and even had broken skins.

I bought tangerines from one man in front of falconry shop he was extremely rude telling us to to touch the fruit I am about to purchase. I explained to him that why are you angry? All Italians are sweet and hospitable but you are angry. I informed him that everywhere around the world we choose our own fruit you as we are paying for it. The fruit stalls were very rude, they do not represent Italians very well! Extremely disappointed. He was a man in his 30s with a beard and his mom is working with him both are very weird.

You can find here fresh fish, fruits, cheese and bakery and buy best coffee and brioche in the city in the cafe inside the market. I recommend to buy shrimps and local lake fish. Prices are higher than in Carrefour. Market opening times: Tuesday 8-13 - Thursday 8-13 - Friday 8-19 (optional) - Saturday 8-19. Free toilet is near the market outside

A great little market filled with linens, clothes, shoes, bags all at great prices. Bought a nice quality linen long sleeve shirt for 39 euro. A must see if you're inexpensive the area.

The restaurant is located a little further from the embankment, but there is still a view of the lake. The wait team is friendly and attentive. The waiters also speak English and are very polite. But I have a comment for the cook: we ordered spaghetti carbonara - what they brought us in a plate is very different from the classic recipe - the egg is already mixed with the spaghetti, there is practically no parmesan - they lightly decorated the edge of the plate with it, but not for the taste . Also in the Caesar salad, the chicken pieces were overcooked and dry, and the sauce was also not enough. In general, we were not happy with the dinner. Thanks to the good work of the waiters, I'm only taking off one star.

Where can I start? The service? Horrible, the waitress had an attitude, forgot a lot of things and couldn’t give any kind of advice for ordering, also made faces when I told her about the issues with our food. Food, was the worst I have ever had coming from an “italian” place, no one of us could eat that carbonara, we were 4 and I just had to leave It, on top of that the most horrible and disappointing carpaccio of my life, will leave pictures of this atrocity. No words, just awful and ai tried to return It but just accepted a discount… + They tried to slip in a pizza we didn’t even get in the bill, thank god they discounted It at the end!! They also charge service for my baby, for what? Putting a chair for him?, never had seen that before too. Had the worst experience in every sense with my family, we wanted to leave as fast as possible to have some ice cream somewhere else to make our day better. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I had lunch today and sat down at 3pm. I did not have enough time to finish my lunch as the place was closing for the afternoon. I thought it was not fair as I waited to be served for half an hour. In compensation, the management didn’t charge me which was more than I asked for. They are real Gentlemen and I am grateful. I recommend that restaurant with impeccable manners. The meal was nice and plentiful.

Went there with a Groupon ticket. The place is nice and very close to the lake. Pizza 🍕 is good and crema Catalana really delicious. Service is a little bit slow and staff not very organised.. I ordered a Spritz extra menu and they served me Spritz and coke at the same time. We had to wait half an hour for coffee☕️.

Tourist trap! Stay clear! They charged us 24 for two small beers and a bowl of fries. Absolute ripoff and a joke compared with what we paid for actual and good food and drinks elsewhere in Como.

Portions are huge for reasonable prices and food is decent. I had the house salad for €9 that was too big for me to finish and honestly could have fed 2 people, but the grilled chicken was super dry. The burgers are big, juicy and tasty. Service is so-so.

The pizzas were absolutely delicious. The Neapolitan-style dough and the quality of the ingredients were simply fantastic. There's an open kitchen separated by a glass wall, and it was a real pleasure to watch the care and attention they put into handling the dough. An absolutely brilliant experience for any pizza lover. This place has became our favorite pizzeria in Como.

Very tasty 🤤 ingredients, I appreciate the pizza oven it a little unbalanced, but the pizza base blistered and was rather burnt. Also the pizza was served very quickly and the salad followed 10 minutes later! 😕

If you need food this is the place to go. Super good food with a lot of options. Staff were really friendly and attentive. There's a lot of seating inside, I didn't notice an outdoor seating area. There also a huge TV and there was a 24 le man's race going on which was nice to follow along with.

Staff was really friendly. That was the only positive thing. We came in right after opening , but had to wait for 1 hour and 45 minutes for an undercooked soggy tastles pizza. On the upside the 2 bottles of wine we had before we had any food was really good. Advice, do not go here unless you want wine

This is a really good, buzzy place with great pizza and a good range of beers. Friendly service and dog friendly too, with a bowl of water appearing quickly when we arrived. The prosciutto e mozzarella was huge and very tasty. Very enjoyable evening.

The pizzas were not tasty at all — they were burnt and the portions were small. The real shock came when we paid the bill: we were 8 people and were charged an additional €2.50 per person as a “service fee,” which totaled €20. When we asked, we were told it was because the chairs were “chargeable.” I have been to many places around the world, including many parts of Italy, but this is the first time I’ve ever been this disappointed with a restaurant. One word: terrible.

Pizza was ok. Soup of the day at €18.00 was a disaster. Good service. Reply that there is no soup of the day seems to be trying to deflect. Reviewing the right place! We had a lunch at the restaurant and indeed there was a soup of the day… a green vegetable soup. Attaching my credit card expense on this for proof.

Very nice hotel on Lake Como. The room was clean and relatively spacious, with wonderful floors and captivating decor. The restaurant had a delicious gluten-free pizza (and regular pizza too!), as well as several other dishes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And the location was perfect for a short vacation to explore the surroundings -there are several restaurants and small shops nearby, with the ferry station just a short walk (five minutes) away. Definitely recommended!

I dined at the restaurant and let me tell you- I really wanted to like this place. The pizza was great. Wine was good. Service? Terrible!!! Read their snarky replies to all the other bad reviews on here and that should give you a hint. We ordered a pizza and a carafe of wine and the server literally said “that’s all?”. Like I’m sorry I’m vegan and this is all you have for me. Take an extra hundy and stop bothering me? The manager came in when we still had wine in our glasses and were rushing to finish because we could see that we were being rushed out and basically kicked us out- again telling us “I need the table” in the meanest tone possible. If it was the bill, increase the prices. I do not mind paying 200,300,500. I do not care. What I DO NOT like is being embarrassed with my company on my honeymoon. That- I do not like. Left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Ruined our final evening in como. Waiting for the snarky reply to this comment too :)

The room was fine but great considering the prices and the prices of the nearby hotels. We received a room towards the street, which unfortunately is very loud due to all the motorcycled passing by at high speed. Earplugs were available at the room as a compensation. The staff were friendly but not in the best of moods.

We stopped for lunch along our bike ride and they were very accommodating. Pizza was delicious and the service was great. Lots of great art as well.

Lamzi was a very kind and lively host. A nice hole in the wall pizza place for a nice rest and recharge with the beat prices in the area by far. A beer is about €3.50 and altogether for a meal it came to about 15 for myself and a friend. He also gave us a warm welcome and let us charge our phones in the employees area. Overall, extremely hospitable and will be returning soon!

Great spot for a quick bite, especially if you’re on the go as there is the option to buy pizza by the slice too rather than a whole pizza which is super convenient. Prices are reasonable too. We tried the Margherita, the mozzarella and basil (my personal favourite), and the focaccia, which was also tasty. It’s not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it’s a solid option—especially handy for feeding kids without committing to a whole pizza. The staff were lovely and polite. It is a small place and there is some seating there should you want to eat in but mostly a takeaway place.

People in this place are not honest, which is the main problem! You don't bullshit paying customers as if they were kids! We went in at around 8 and we're told that all the tables outside are either taken or booked. So we're led inside, where only 2 out of 20 tables are occupied. We asked if we could sit at the furthest corner as those eating outside smoked heavily. But we're told that all the other tables are booked, so we had to sit by the front door. Later on they just opened one more door near us and we're surrounded by second hand smoke. None of the other tables were taken all the way till we left at 10:30! I'm not sure where their servers were trained or if they're ever trained. One guy stopped by asking if we're done when our plates are still with half of the food (only the wine bottle was empty), and I said we're not. Two other servers came asking the same question, making me really wonder why they all acted the same way, whereas a tabe with six smoking people came before us and yet still talking loudly.

Great place to grab some pizza or panini. The staff is super friendly and you have a great variety of different tasting snacks. You can either eat them there or take them with you. The ingredients are super fresh and tasty. The pizza dough was light and fluffy.

We had 2 pizzas and 2 cokes E21.50. I guess they were ok. More like Turkish pizza not Italian pizza. But this is the only pizza place we visited in Como so maybe this is what they are like here. Paid with a credit card and 1 euro was added to my total, why??

The Doner Kebab Box was absolutely delicious, the peach ice tea is very refreshing. The view blown my mind. The service was very good, I didn’t have to wait for a long time to get my food,it was fast less than 10mins for 7 items I ordered.

Visit como 4 month ago, end up here to get my lunch. Try Tono cippola Pizza and some lamb meat. With only 9€ you can get pizza and drink, one of my best pizza experience in Italy. The shop is not to spacious but very near to the Como lake. Also this one is good option for Halal food. The staff seems very rude but very well served 😄

My dad and I were walking around and decided to stop by this local pizza spot that had good reviews. We are from America and only speak English, but the staff was super friendly right away. The woman running the place sat us down and went through the whole menu in English, which really helped us figure out what to get. Everyone there was super nice, even though it probably took a little extra effort to help us out. The pizza was amazing—honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. 5/5, I’d go back in a heartbeat if I’m ever in the area again!

This is the perfect place to grab something quick. We got one with prosciutto and one with eggplant. The crust tasted fresh and was very fluffy. We got ours heated up and the cheese was melty and warm. Would recommend!
