The 50 best cheap eats in Bordeaux

Came here on a Tuesday evening after making a reservation online for 8:15. They aptly call it a cozy restaurant because the tables were already 75% full in spite of opening at 8pm and new arrivals had to squeeze in sideways to get to their seat. The tables nearby had many couples, 1 singleton, groups of friends, even a dog (first time seeing this while in Bordeaux). The service is 100%+ positivity and energy and joy. Their excitement and authentic desire to make your evening special is palpable. I was impressed at their speed of speech in both French and English. They offer a 4 or 6-dish set. We chose the 4. The entrees were okay. The plat and dessert were divine. The restaurant feels like a happening place to be. It is definitely fun to sit near the wall and people watch. Thank you for a fun night!

This was a wonderful dining experience. Everything from the atmosphere to the food and the service was fantastic. Every single dish was delicious and unique. The wine pairings were perfect. Both of our servers were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the food and wine. I wish we had gone here earlier during our trip so that we could have eaten here twice.

Highly recommended! The set menu makes dining here super easy, no stress about what to order. Every dish is packed with amazing, complex flavors that will have you reaching for extra bread to soak it all up. YUMMY! 🤤

Beautiful cozy restaurant with excellent cuisine and great service. We went for a full tasting menu and weren't disappointed although portion sizes could be a bit bigger. Also it felt like waiting tome between dishes could be lower. The dessert was really creative and triggered all our taste buds 😂

Delicious food and wine served up by lovely and knowledgeable servers. Trust the chefs, they know what they are doing. Absolutely delightful in every way.

Not to be missed. The 4 or 6 prix fixe dinner is super. We opted to not have the wine pairing but rather fewer glasses of wine recommended by the wait staff. It is Bordeaux, there is no bad wine.

We wanted to go for some really good French food. This is the spot. The service, atmosphere, and food were all marvelous. And the staff are top notch. They understand all of the dishes and wine, where they come from, and how they work together. Treat yourself and have dinner here.

Traditional French “pecherie” with a modern twist- let’s say the only one restaurant we visited twice in 9 days in Bordeaux (even considering ten extra minutes walk) Erwin was our waiter each time and his recommendations were spot on! Gazpacho and the escargots were the best we got in SW France including some Michelin stars we visited ( for a fraction of the price). Highly recommended!

For a seafood restaurant, the dishes tasted a bit average and not as fresh as I expected. The razor clams were cooked well, though the flavor itself wasn’t that impressive. The atmosphere could be improved too—there was quite a strong kitchen smell, and while we were eating, flies were constantly buzzing around and landing on our seafood. We had to keep shooing them away, which made the hygiene standards feel questionable and the meal rather unpleasant. On the bright side, the desserts were a pleasant surprise—the crème brûlée and ice cream were both really nice. Service was fine, nothing outstanding but perfectly okay.

I had an excellent meal here with fresh and flavorful oysters followed by well seasoned and perfectly cooked monkfish. It’s in a touristy part of town, so there were fewer locals than I like to see. But, other than that, c’est bon! [PS. Regarding the flies, almost every restaurant I’ve gone to in France for the last 3+ weeks has had fruit flies. We’re not used to it in the US, but it’s common here.]

We visited this place 3 times! Best one in Bordeaux. Oysters and crab are incredible! If you want to eat fresh delicious seafood - go here right away.

Variety and quality of Sea food was very good. Quantity with respect to price is still a question mark for me. Sitting environment could be more improve. Staff was very polite and friendly.

Happy hour oysters (€1) between 4-6pm. The oysters were fresh and delicious, the recommended wine was great, thank you! Great street for people waking, away from the square.

It was a nice evening so we chose to sit outside. Service and food was fantastic. Definitely recommend.

Such a fun and relaxed wine bar to hang out at, open conveniently until 9:45 PM. Their Château Labadie Côtes de Bourg is absolutely exceptional—smooth, rich, and Bold. It’s the kind of wine that leaves a lasting impression and keeps you coming back. I’ve already found myself planning a third visit. A fun place for wine lovers!

Perfect spot to taste all sorts of Bordeaux wines at their best price in town, considering the large and diverse selection that changes regularly. Generous pours as well. Food platters of cured meat, cheese or foie gras. Sometimes there is a line to get a table but it’s worth waiting. (Portions of cheese platters seems much smaller recently…) Service can be long at times, if you go in the afternoon, apparently they had only 2 guys serving and they were rushing left and right, hard to catch their attention to place an order, ask for water,…) However the whole lost of wines makes this place not to be missed !

Visited Le Bar à Vin several times since last year. This year however the staff do not seem as attentive as last year, and last year was absolutely mental given the olympics were on! The wine was fabulous and the chocolates very tasty. I would say do visit here and maybe ask the staff questions if you'd like to know the wine because they don't seem to just tell you off their own back! The setting is stunning though!

Had a wonderful experience and came back for a second. It's a great way to try many types of Bordeaux from different areas. I now have three Chateaus that are on my 'most loved' list. Helpful and friendly staff. Had a lovely chevre assortment with excellent breads. Great way to wait out the rain!

A Must-Visit Wine Bar in Bordeaux 🍷 Every time we visit this beautiful city, stopping by this wine bar is an absolute must. The service is always warm and attentive, making us feel right at home. Visiting Bordeaux for the day and we were advised to try this wine tasting bar by a local guide. The interior is beautiful, calming and cool. Don't be put off if you're not a wine buff, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. We tried two red Bordeaux based on our preferences and guidance from the helpful staff. We tried the charcuterie board alongside and all the local products were delicious. Would definitely revisit when we return to Bordeaux.

We weren't very satisfied with the wine experience we had here. The person assisting us wasn’t very helpful. We expected a proper wine tasting with explanations, but instead, the wines were simply poured and left in front of us like in a regular restaurant. This approach was quite different from what we had in mind. We came here based on the reviews but didn’t receive the level of service we were hoping for. It felt like they just wanted us to drink quickly and leave.

Fantastic local market in Bordeaux. Wonderful fresh produce and interesting snacks to buy. Unfortunately, it was a public holiday, so not everything was open, but still enjoyed it. We bought strawberries, fish, cheeses, and other fruit and vegetables

A nice market to visit. We enjoy having the truffle cheese and Bleu d'Auvergne from the cheese store there too (it’s the stall right at the entrance, with a green signboard). Shop owners were kind and patient in explaining things to us.

Good place for early risers to check out a local market. Good selection of raw seafood, meats and even good wine and pastry. Easy walking from our Airbnb

A little disappointing. Not full of stalls by any measure. Produce that was there was good but felt a bit run down.

Nice market, lots of fresh and prepared foods. Not too busy on a weekday.

Impressive market with lots to offer. It is under a roof and seems to have a parking deck on top of it? The stands are packed in and quite large. The smells and sights of the fresh foods overwhelm the senses. Lots of seafood, fresh veggies, bread, cheeses, meats, and even some stands selling household goods, etc. on the outskirts. We went on a Friday and it was fairly crowded, but I imagine it to be bustling on the weekend. There are a few bars/restaurants in each quadrant as well.

The food was outstanding—both creative and flavorful. For me, the highlights were the sweetbreads and the steak tartare. Given that it's in Bordeaux, I had anticipated a broader selection of local wines by the glass, though perhaps that's not the focus here. As for the service, my wine order was forgotten, which is something I haven't experienced in quite some time. Nevertheless, this place has great potential and is an excellent spot overall.

Really good food but probably some of the worst service I've experienced in France or England or Italy in the last 10 years. Table of 17 booked 5 months in advance, We booked a table outside and they put us inside. We asked to sit outside and they said it was impossible. Even though there were many tables free. It was uncomfortably warm inside. The duck starter it was incredible. Really delicious and exciting. But a couple of our friends were left waiting for more than 5 minutes when other dishes were on the table. And we saw the same dishes they were waiting for being served two tables next to us that sat down after us. Pork main was delicious, but again they forget two of our friends dishes (including the birthday boy) and they arrived unseasoned. The wine was good. A night of ups and downs.

At Symbiose, we had a truly lovely evening. The food was very good, the wine was excellent, and the view of the river and the big Ferris wheel made the setting even more special. The service was warm, friendly, and perfectly paced.

Really delicious food, probably the best beef tartare I've ever had! I'm not sure it counts as satay but it definitely does count as very tasty with a really good kick and a big garlic kick. Beetroot crisps and tartare is a revelation! The tomato tart was outstanding, really fresh and light, very highly recommended. The whiting quenelle was very good, I particularly enjoyed the mix of pickled celeriac with rich bisque. I enjoyed the hazelnut mackerel. I'm not sure it's exactly my taste but it was good. The zombie was incredibly good and I will now be trying ti incorporate patchouli into my cooking! Too it off with fantastic and knowledgeable service. I'd come back to bordeaux for this alone!

We read a bunch of reviews about this place and they were all fantastic, including a great write up in the Michelin guide. We were underwhelmed. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. The restaurant is very cute and the service was very good. Everyone was really friendly. I just didn't think the food was great and it definitely didn't have much in terms of kid-friendly options (although kid-friendly food just isn't really a thing in France the way it is in Canada or the US). Nothing was bad. I just was expecting more based on all the amazing reviews and awards and write ups.

We loved Symbiose. They made sure we were taken care of with both delicious food and amazing drinks. They made our dinner experience like no other. If you are in Bordeaux, definitely check them out! You will not be disappointed.

We recently dined at Symbiose in Bordeaux and had an amazing experience. The meal was a 10/10, with the shared antipasto platter being a standout. Every item was local and fresh, leaving us very satisfied. Both our mains and desserts were enjoyed. This restaurant is definitely one of the best, with their magnificent cocktails adding to the experience. For warmer months, I would highly recommend sitting outside, although the inside is also beautiful.

Quite tasty, very fairly priced. Would recommend, better overall than Canelés Bailladran. Expect a very crunchy outside and mushy inside.

They're very nice, they even let you try free ones But it's really quite average. There's a taste to it that's not particularly pleasant, and it's also slightly chewy and gummy, maybe because it's left out for a while

One of the worst textured Caneles I’ve ever had in my life. Gummy and had zero air pockets inside. Flavor profile was nice but again the gummy tapioca like inside is embarrassing to say the least. Go somewhere else for caneles unless you want to be thoroughly disappointed. They are cheap I’ll say that.

We had six caneles, everything about packaging and location is fine. Only caneles are not my taste type. If you haven't tried it, you should try and test it.

It's the best place to try the local delicacy. It comes in 3 sizes. It's best for you to have it with tea or after lunch as a desert. The staff were friendly and explained what goes in it(egg,rum etc). (It is the perfect treat for your friends and it is easy to carry in bulk)

You can’t not have canele while in Bordeaux 😅

From the moment we arrived, everything about this restaurant was exceptional. The food was a masterpiece—each dish thoughtfully prepared with rich flavours and beautiful presentation. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. An unforgettable lunch from start to finish—highly recommended.

I would never go back. We had a reservation for 9pm. It took a while to be attended to. The menu was a QR code on the table, but it doesn’t have wine by the bottle on the menu. So, we were ordering food before we had even seen the wine list, which was actually very comprehensive. The sommelier was excellent and very knowledgeable and engaging. We were celebrating as we had just bought a house. We had some aperitifs and ordered a 150€ bottle of red wine. There was only a three course menu on offer. We ordered the mushroom ravioli for entree and the shared beef for our main meal. There was an 18€ per person additional charge for the beef. The mushroom ravioli was lovely. We ordered our beef medium. When it came out, it was Blue. We asked the waitress if we could get it cooked a bit longer as we wanted in cooked medium. She didn’t even acknowledge us and in a real huff took it away. When it came out again, it was rare. The photo shows the beef after it came out the second time. The waitress just dumped in on the table and walked away. By this time, our two side dishes were cold. We then asked the waitress if we could get the beef cooked a bit longer as it was still rare. By this time we’ve been picking at our sides, but one is stone cold, so I ask the waitress if she could please heat up the side of potatoes so that we can eat them hot with our beef when it comes out. So the steak and potatoes come out again. The potato dish is now missing the mash that it originally came out with and the beef’s been reheated 3 times and it’s just not good and now we are just over it. Not once did anyone check in with us. My partner speaks French so it wasn’t a language issue and we’ve both been waiters, so the total lack of care was staggering and the service recovery was non existent. Now my partner never complains and he is so kind, you can win him over so easily, but even he was peeved. So we speak to another waitress and we advise that we don’t want dessert because it’s now 11.30pm and we’re over the whole thing. She was great and said she’d speak to the manager. We then spoke to another waiter who was sent to us (he was lovely and helpful) and the restaurant manager offered to not charge for the dessert that we didn’t have, waive a side dish and not charge one of us for the beef surcharge (but still charge for the main meal, just not the beef surcharge). My partner explained that this was not good enough because we hardly ate any of the beef main meal. Again they had to speak to the manager who agreed to remove the other beef surcharge. So we’re still paying for two entrees and two mains. Turns out the waitress wrote on the order we wanted our beef rare, so it was their fault and after both times we sent it back, it would be expected for the waitress to check if we were ok. Also, if someone sends the food back after it’s their mistake, then take the sides away and bring them back hot with the meal. Our sides were out for 30 minutes before we got the final third time cooked crappy beef. Having to fight for service recovery is terrible. Our bill at the end was 261€. I would never eat here again. Don’t go!!! We left feeling really bitter and peeved that they had to speak to the manager three times, like restaurant manager, if your staff are speaking to you three times about your guests, go speak to the guests and make it right!!!! I have not felt this disappointed or ripped off ever. Photos show the beef (that we ordered medium) after the second time it came out.

Food was excellent, beautiful interior but service was not on the same level. The food was truly exceptional. All six dishes were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The ambiance itself was really nice. Unfortunately, the service fell a bit short of the overall experience. Our initial waiter seemed inattentive, focusing on other tables and tasks rather than our needs. Waiter provided detailed explanations entirely in French when bringing dessert, which we don’t understand. Though it provided a humorous moment, it ultimately made communication challenging. Finally, another waiter seemed rushed and spilled sauce on one our plates quite hastily. While these mishaps didn't detract from the quality of the food, they did temper the overall experience. But definitely recommended.

Beautiful location but there are too many tables for the room size. Felt too crowded. Book ahead of time if you want to dine here. Each dish was very well done, clear flavour and vision. Food itself was a 9/10, but price is a bit pricy I’d say, each person was 57 euros for a 3 course.

Superb gastronomic experience 😍 we had amazing time at this restaurant, the food was very very tasty and our taste buds were pleased beyond our expectations. Special thanks to our waitress Morgane who was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable about every component in the food and looked really well after us and all our needs. I would fully recommend this this place to anyone who enjoys well prepared tasty meals. If we ever come back to Bordeaux we will definitely come back to this restaurant.

This is not really worth the money. The tuna was overcooked, the pork was dry and who serves croquettes with mashed potatoes? The waiters did little effort to make us feel welcome, they seem to not care about our feedback and the sommelier did not have time to give us a proper selection, maybe it was the language barrier though since my wive and I don’t speak french. I don’t get why this restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide. Might be they just had a bad day, but I don’t know, 110€ per person should be enough to expect a nice dinner. In conclusion: average food and wine way overpriced.

We had a lovely dinner in Racine’s on Tuesday evening, it was the best meal we had in Bordeaux. The food was super tasty and really good value. The flexibility on the menu was great, where each person can decide to have 4,5 or 6 dish’s, everyone on the table does not have to do the same which was great. The accompanying wine, as you’d expect, was beautiful. Highlights for us was the cod and the veal in particular. We will definitely be back when we’re next in Bordeaux.

The cuisine may not be particularly innovative, but every dish is perfectly cooked and truly delicious. The service team is outstanding – friendly, attentive, and highly professional.

What a place! My first experience of fine dining and was blown away. We couldn’t get in on the night, so went for lunch instead. Incredible value (€30pp) and we added the wine pairings (€30pp). Everything was five star. Nice and intimate setting (about 7/8 tables), attentive service, incredible food!

Beautiful fresh flavours. We had the 4 plates in the evening for €44 and it was a great experience. The highlights were the tomato dish that packed a zesty punch and the artichoke dish that had a lot of richness. Lovely setting and great service

Interesting menu & AC , excellent service but be warned the dishes are micro- more the size for a 8 course menu, I went for lunch. - eggplant i adored-marcona almonds, just slightly sweet, miso & black garlic adds umami sauce yum, peach adds lots acidity , sisho leaf is everything in this dish, add lots of flavor -sea bream seaweed, green beans, lobster sauce- lime zest gelee a bit bitter not noticeable with other richness but adds tiny bit of acid. The sauce was very lobstery & then pure creamy, vanilla adds a little something but not physically thick enough to keep pickled mustard seeds from getting lost. And i would've liked more acid or spice would've been nice. I had to remove skin since I personally don't enjoy it if it isn't crispy though the blowtorch made it pretty. - fig sub apricot in the dessert, weird bitter olive sauce but with everything else added complexity, fig nice warm melts like a hot Sundae. Would've liked more slightly less done croutons, maybe more rosemary flavor. Would go back to see what else they come up with.

We had our Outlander Society group dinner here last night and everything was perfectly prepared, the service was top notch, and Chef Daniel and his team took care of our group with beautiful and delicious cuisine. Highly recommend!

Beautiful tasty delicious food with friendly service and great ambiance. I ran out of time otherwise I would have gone back for another wonderful meal here. Really enjoyed the food and hospitality. So good, you won’t regret it. We went for lunch so it’s not that expensive.

Every time I return to Arcada, I’m even more impressed. Friendly positive servers make sure you’re happy. They extend their trust by allowing you to go into their wine cellar to select your bottle of wine! Yes, all the wine is on the wine list, but it really brings it to life when you descend down a narrow winding stone staircase to a wine cave and select the bottle you want. The food and atmosphere is great. Each dish is unique and like a work of art. Highly recommend!

Nice place, great friendly attentive service, expert cooking but a tendency to make dishes too busy, with too many ingredients. Every dish tasted good. The pressed duck was great. Good wine list. In the heart of Bordeaux.

9/10 we were able to book online earlier in the day and got a slot at 19:30, which was a good thing as they had to turn people away (who hadn't made reservations) all evening. We could see why this is a popular restaurant as the food was very good, presentation was beautiful, and service was impeccable. Flavours were very layered; interesting combinations and complex without being fussy. I wished my chicken had one flavor stand out as it was all almost too subtle, whereas my wife's duck was excellent. They also very kindly explain each dish, the components, and anything noteworthy on how it's prepared (first video), and are happy to answer any questions. Prix fixe menu is excellent value. Nice amuse bouche, although it was quite similar to the chicken entree. It was a great way to celebrate a birthday! Would highly recommend Arcada and we would gladly return when back in Bordeaux!

Found in the reviews this restaurant to be dog friendly and they are! But go not only for the dog. Go for the food. It is great! They give good advise if you have dietary wishes (glutenfree). We were the first customers of the evening on a very warm day in Bordeaux. Enjoyed the airconditioning. We had the tuna and the risotto and a fish carpaccio. Our compliments to the chef. Very friendly staf.

The restaurant is a hidden gem! Visited the restaurant on Sept 11, 2025. The food was great and everything was cooked spectacularly. The restaurant is on a quieter street and not as easy to spot, but we had a great meal here. We tried to make a reservation through their website, however we never got a response, and walked by to see if it was indeed closed. They mentioned they're having some issues with the reservations platform and confirmed a time for us on the spot.

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever experienced! We went to a Michelin star restaurant the night after this and it didn’t even come close! Can’t understand how Michelin is giving stars these days if not here. The service, the food and the ambience were amazing! I’d recommend this over and over again. Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Food was good except some over-exotic oysters with warm ingredients. The fish is a must as the sauce was great. The mini profiteroles with hazelnut were tasty too. Nice variety of wine bottles. The venue was cozy. Bread basket was good.

Amazing food, perfect service and wonderful ambiance. The chicken was sublime, the risotto was perfect, and the chocolate inténse was simply divine. The portions are small, somewhat to be expected with fine dining, however they were surprisingly filling. This place was a real diamond in the rough! So glad we stumbled upon this place. Deserves more stars!

We were excited to dine here but sadly it was a bit disappointing. Food was okay and wine was regular, this is Bordeaux, we expected something more exciting. The duck was chewy and not cooked properly, half of it we left in the plate and we were offered only a digestive as a compensation. Atmosphere was nice but at one point the radio was playing quite loudly over our heads.

Exceptional lunch in this hidden little gem of a restaurant. We had the blind tasting menu for around 35euros which consisted of four courses, all of them absolutely delicious. I didn’t want each mouthful to end!

Cool atmosphere in Darwin neighborhood. Huge place divided in different areas where you can go for a drink or take food. There is also an outside area full of lights at night. The staff is professional al thought there is no table service as usually known. We tried hamburgers and they were delicious.

Great atmosphere, the venue is very cool and it's surrounded by local art, skaters and graffiti. Had lunch at the self-service restaurant because the main restaurant closes before 14:00 (a bit disappointed). Everything is bio, sustainable and vegan friendly (hence the high prices). Big space but very busy, a bit unsatisfied with the staff. Food was good.

We went for brunch here. It's about the closest to an American style brunch I've had. All u can eat. Good assortment of freshly made with variety of drinks (alcohol extra). Not haut cuisine, (think quantity not quality) but fair at 24€. Urban eco style with rehabbed couches and pallets makes for a cool ambience. Get reservations a week in advance. Very locals place.

Although I love Darwin and the concept, they definitely have to look into their kitchen and what they offer to people! I’ve tried the brunch one time and was tasteless and expensive, then I gave it a second chance with a lunch... same thing and now just had 2 pièces of uncooked and tasteless very heavy quiche with some “organic chips” that were completely off and paid 12€ for it. I will definitely not come back to eat any of what they propose as it’s overrated, not tasty and lacks of love!

Good chilling spot by Darwin's. Pizza and plat du jour were good. Cookies are really good. Really 3.5 stars as two guys behind the front counter are rude.

One of the coziest places I've ever been. The atmosphere is breathtaking. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Bordeaux. If there's a concert in the evening, you have to pay an entry fee (€3 per person), but you get that back as a discount when you eat at the restaurant. The food is a bit more expensive than other places in Bordeaux (€16/€17 for a dish).

You walk into an oasis of calm. The wife-chef pair run a nice restaurant. The menu is “omakase”. The sole server gave us a wonderful wine recommendation and presented each dish with a thorough and careful explanation. She also graciously accepted an unusual request from our party to have a smaller wine glass. The plates/dish/cup/water pitcher/bowls are all themed ceramic pieces with the natural and white enamel glaze. They tie in seamlessly with the decor and walls of the restaurant. The lighting in the restaurant is thoughtful and contributes to a romantic mood. All tables except ours were for couples. We were told the menu is largely fish and appointed/accompanied by spring produce. We liked all the offerings but could forego the carbonara pasta dish. Each dish is beautifully designed and presented. Portion sizes could have been smaller given the many savory dishes provided.

Very nice food and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s run by a couple that give very attentive service. As it’s just the two of them sometimes they are busy with other tables and you have to wait a little but that is ok. Extensive wine list focusing mostly on Italian wine but with French and more adventurous wines from as far as Georgia. Very nice food but be prepared for a very fish focused menu and some very cleaver dishes

Excellent food and service! The whole menu was full of homemade Italian specialties. A really amazing meal

Lume was one of the best things we did while in Bordeaux! The food and service were incredible. The husband and wife team are so kind and knowledgeable. The chef prepared dishes that told a story, and they were beautifully presented and explained every time. The wine pairing was also fantastic. If you find yourself traveling to Bordeaux, make reservations here. You won't be disappointed!

Lume was an incredible dining experience. One of the best meals we had during a week in Bordeaux. Service and atmosphere are elegant yet simple, comfortable, present, and unobtrusive. The chef blends flavors which are bold yet perfectly executed. Presentation of dishes is fantastic. I assume this restaurant will have a star very soon and it absolutely deserves it. We will definitely return on our next trip to Bordeaux.

I almost didn’t leave a review because Lume is already well rated, but our experience was so superb I felt obligated. Alice and Riccardo work alone to manage the kitchen/front of house and served my fiancée and I one of the best meals of our lives. It’s made clear on the website that dishes are seafood-focused, which we love, but be aware. Thank you both!

What an amazing experience! Tucked away in small street is this charming restaurant. Cuisine, service and hospitality were all exceptional. As if the world class cuisine wasn’t impressive enough, the service by the Chef’s partner in the dining room told a story that made the visit all the more memorable. The wine list is sourced from mostly Italian, low intervention winemakers. I’d highly recommend the wine pairing option, as each selection really paired well with the food. This wonderful little restaurant is sure to impress even the most sophisticated palates. I highly recommend Lume and hope to return again someday.

Based on recommendation we visited this French restaurant. Overall we have a decent experience. Appetizers are interesting. Particularly the perfect egg and tuna. The other two appetizers are cold dishes. For the main course, only the sea bream wins our heart. We found the chicken breast slightly overcooked. The pork ribs with BBQ sauce is a bit disappointing. The pork is kind of soft without much other texture. We do not like it at all. Given the price we do not feel the food delivers the value as we expected.

I was part of a food tasting experience here, and we were given 3 dishes, and they did not disappoint. Flavor AND texture. Good portion size. Wine pairing. Excellent service from the staff, as well as a wall window to the kitchen, where they also engaged with the onlookers. Highly recommend!

Bo-tannique is a real find in Bordeaux. It's one of those rare places that continues to surprise you throughout the course of your meal. We were greeted by a cheerful waitress who patiently explained the menu. We ordered a tomato salad, chicken and sea bass. All were expertly prepared and very tasty. The highlight of the evening came when the chef (Laurent?)stopped by our table and spent some time with us. For someone so talented, he had a charming modesty and earnestness that made the evening a night to remember. Before we left he insisted we try his basil sorbet which was, of course, unexpectedly good.

Very pleasant, the music level was low, allowing for conversation. Service just right, attentive, not overbearing. The tuna appetizer was lightly braised, with a ginger sauced that paired very well with the rose by the glass. The poultry with haricots verts was also excellent, I suggest to pair it with a rose instead of a red, particularly in the summer. The tomato dessert was spectacular, light, fresh, perfect for a summer evening. Yes, well worth it on all counts. I applaud the chef.

This restaurant is famous for its food. Whilst the food was indeed good, I didn't feel it was exceptional. I had the egg dish for a starter, pork loin medallions with roasted carrots for main, and very rich and lemony (I had not thought it possible to overdo the lemon, but this was a tiny bit too zesty) pudding. The sole waitress did her best despite being rushed off her feet. The music was excellent and played at just the right level for a restaurant, discreet, but unfortunately there was one table occupied by a very loud group of braying don- oops, men. It was our best meal in Bordeaux, and, of course, the most expensive.

This was our first dining experience in Bordeaux and an unforgettable one at that. What a treat, from the view into the kitchen staff working away, to the lovely servers, to the great ambience, to the absolutely fantastic food (the egg appetizer was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had and a sensory delight, and the lamb was incredible). Make this a must on your itinerary if you’re visiting Bordeaux!

The interior looks a bit dated and old but I guess that’s the charm of the rustic vibes. The food was good and the portion too. I’ve tried L’entrecote and this is comparable if not better! I ordered the 350gm ribeye (with black pepper sauce, but I personally would have selected the red wine reduction) and frites! It was medium-rare and that was perfectly done! Magnifique! The waiters were super friendly, which was contrary to the common sentiment that French are rude. They were not only friendly but patient and accommodating as well, carefully explaining their well written blackboard of a menu to us. The funniest part was when we were paying the bill at the bar counter, the cashier/waiter pull a trick of the hand with the bill and proceeded to provide us a literal magnifying glass to enlarge the printing - haha.

I would go back because of the friendliness of the staff alone. They were very friendly, helpful and funny. Easily my favourite bar in Bordeaux a really unique atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. And the food was great, the duck hearts in particular were absolutely delicious. It's a cash only bar so make sure you have some when you go.

Such an amazing place. Friendly, rustic and vibrant. We went as a family with two small kids and the staff were incredible to us all. Felt like eating at home. The bar is small and traditional and that is a compliment! Food was superb. Beef tartare and steak and chips done so well and so simply. A delight.

My wife found this place on going off the reviews from Google and TripAdvisor, they didn't disappoint. Slightly ignorant from ourselves we can't speak french, but after a warm welcome someone took the time to explain what each dish was. The dishes came and were both beautiful, my wife had the duck and I have the burger in mustard sauce both medium (which meant medium) . The reviews on this place really don't lie, Staff were all super friendly, it's a local and fantastic place which doesn't look a lot from the outside but seriously doesn't disappoint. This is a CASH ONLY restaurant, but you are also told this on entering.

Don't be put off by the unasuming front of this establishment. The hard working team here, especially the lady runing the show are welcoming and efficient. I like her somewhat no-nonsense way of getting things done. The food is tasty and a great value for money. I would highly recomend this place.

Literally the best noodles Ive ever had in my entire life. Wok Way is a family friendly restaurant owned by a Chinese family that have been in Bordeaux for 50 years. Extremely kind and friendly. The place is downstairs from my girlfriends apartment and we finally decided to give it a go after a few months of talking about it. Best decision ever! I crave the beef noodles daily but unfortunately they’re gone for vacations for a couple of weeks 😭 (please come back) Highly recommend!!!

Really fantastic, authentic ramen. Took a chance on this place as it was one of few places open at 2pm (because France). Really glad we did though, the hand-pulled freshly made noodles here were fantastic. I had bouillon broth noodles with duck. They noodles were the star, a little chewy to bite, great texture. This is how noodles should be. Broth was tasty without being overpowering, duck was tender and flavourful. Wife had the same broth/noodles but with beef instead. Same story, just really great noodles. Restaurant was relatively empty (granted it was after 2pm when everyone's having a snooze) so there wasn't much atmosphere to speak of, but it made for a nice peaceful lunch so we didn't mind.

We had a fantastic meal at Casa Gaïa. I asked for wine recommendations for each course, which were perfect. The arancini and octopus were particular highlights. Will absolutely return the next time we are in Bordeaux!

We went for dinner on a Friday evening. The place is nicely decorated and has a good atmosphere. However, we were seated facing the kitchen, and unfortunately, what we saw was very disappointing. The blond chef repeatedly licked his fingers while preparing food, which was extremely unhygienic and unpleasant to witness. It might be necessary to remind the staff of the basic standards of hygiene in food preparation! For sure, we won’t come back again!

A genuine feeling of a proper Irish pub in the midst of all shopping and regional stores surrounding the area. Staff is friendly and they serve quickly and with the expected variation for an Irish pub. In the evening the pub turns into a more lively place with a mix of people and more advanced drinks are seen. However, the pub still remains a solid experience of a genuine Irish pub and i can highly recommend a visit!

A random kind of bar, which very much appealed to us. Very unpretentious, lively atmosphere and had a good selection of Belgium beers. Strangely no wine that we could see, but there was a good selection of cocktails and spirits.

Great food, good wine but horrible service. The restaurant was almost empty but it took the service 15 minutes to bring us the menu. The server is just busy with his friends (?) sitting at the bar. Also when I asked for the check, he just continued to talk to his friends while handling my credit card without saying anything to me.

Very small place (5-6 tables and a bar), cosy restaurant, nice staff, short menu, but you can find your way if you're vegan or meat lover, every products are in quality, the plate aren't expensives, beautiful flavours... Great selection of wine. It's better to book, but a second place (bigger) opened, in an other area, at a mile away.

This review is for the new location near the Marché des Capucins, which isn't listed on Google yet. I ordered several small plates and wines by the glass, taking advice from staff for each dish, all of which paired well. One or two of the wines were exceptionally interesting, and it was easy to buy a bottle à emporter. Be sure to leave some room for the cheese plate and desserts! Overall: very good value and mightily delicious, don't miss it.

Disappointed after hearing about this place. They have a great wine list at good prices. However the food they propose wasn't great and expensive for what you get. The plate of cheese was poorly presented, not alot and they charged 9€. The service was weak, not welcoming despite the rather nice setting.

If I had to pick a favourite bakery in Bordeaux after visiting many of them during my visit, this would be it. Always warm baguette, amazing selection of delicious pastries - Apple Tartelettes were my favourite.

We walked past this bakery store and saw all the awards and recommendation signatures out on their main entry so decided to give it a try. Bought a ham & cheese sandwich and francaccia bread! They both were so freshly made and delicious 😋. There are various types of bakeries and pastries on offer, and they are looking so great! Definitely worth trying this place if you are around in town.

Stumbled upon this place while shopping on Rue du Pas-Saint-Georges and it was the perfect place to stop for a quick bite to eat. The raisin croissant and ham and cheese baguette were my favorites!

Very disappointing experience - I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews but not worth the money or time. The salty pancakes were dry and cold, some of the sweet pancakes on our table were under cooked. We waited 25 min for drinks to arrive and 40min for the food. There are definitely better places around worth the wait.

A superior pancake party. The brunch here is rather big and tasty, by the time I got to the muesli I was struggling to eat. I prefer savory pancakes, so the ones with bacon, eggs and salmon were my option.

Well located in the heart of Bordeaux, this kid/baby friendly restaurant serves fresh pancakes both salty & sweet, and they are delicious 🥞👌 the brunch menu at 29€ is pretty good value for money as the portions are really generous. 😊 They have high chairs for babies and there is a kid corner with toys & books which is very convenient for parents! 👶

Whether you're seated inside or on the terrace, you won't be disappointed with their food. Escargots are a must here and their generous wine list has something to compliment any meal choice be it fish, meat or pasta. Service is friendly and professional and prices are reasonable. Best preparation of liver I’ve ever tasted. My husband had the sole Meunière and was very pleased. We shared the tomato and burrata appetizer. We shared the baked Alaska for dessert. Yesterday I was in this place with a group, I want noted that we are all foreigners from different parts of the world. We arrived a little earlier at 19:10 than the booked time (19:30) and were immediately met with a negative attitude from the waiters, who tried to throw us away. Then we were finally placed in the some kind of a basement, where were dust, overturned chairs and dirty mirrors. Glasses for wine and water wich were placed on the table was quite dirty, it was some kind of calcium plaque. The icing on the cake was the water had some mold floating in it. The waiters are very unfriendly, probably because we are foreigners. The food is of quite average quality, it’s more of an acquired taste. In general, this place left an extremely negative impression.

Lovely place! The foie gras was very good with a creamy and mild flavor. The escargots were also very good and wonderful price-quality wise with €6 for 12 escargots! The baked camembert was also very tasty, but a bit bland with pretty stale bread. The pavé de bœuf with frites were excellent medium piece of beef. Le cheese burger was perfectly cooked, the bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, however the cheddar wasn’t totally melted. The fries weren’t very good, quite soggy. The tagliatelle was pretty boring, not very special. Pretty oily with a minimum of greens and flavor. The fish and chips were very good with perfectly crispy fish! The bernaise saus was the best I’ve ever had, pretty rough with bigger pieces of onion and pickle. The boudin noir (blood sausage) was very tasty, it was blood sausage but with a bit of meat (kind of pulled meat) in it with traditional potatoes. The side of potato mash was a nice extra. The wine was absolutely wonderful and we got good tips from the staff. The atmosphere was very good, not too busy and touristic. Regarding the desserts, the chocolate mousse was delicious and the creme brulée was sweet and crispy. The cheese platter was also very good with a diverse sample of four cheeses. There was no explanation with the cheeses which could have been better. So in short, when going to Bordeaux, we recommend this brasserie!!!

Hostel 20 is well located in the quiet and safe historic Chatrons district of Bordeaux close to tram and bus stops and between the main TGV train station St Jean and the Cite du Vin. Dorms have comfortable beds, privacy curtains and air con. The shower is ensuite. The head room is limited in the 3 tier bunks. WiFi is strong and dependable in the downstairs lobby and kitchen. The kitchen is spacious with plenty of room in the large fridge. Best of all are your welcoming hosts: Emma and Hugo. They make Hostel 20 so very special!

Super nice and friendly receptionist, rooms were clean, location is great, close to the city center and well connected by tram. The bike rack inside of the lobby is basically under supervision all the time, so I can definitely recommend the place for any bikepackers looking for some rest and a shower.

The sheet was really nice with the bed, the shower is hot and control. Aman in the reception was a really gentle host, great smile and amazing attitude. I will be back

Avoid this hostel! We were a group of five and made a reservation under one's name. Upon arrival, we simply wanted to split the total cost between the five of us. The man at the reception completely messed up the amounts, charging each of us a different price without any clear explanation. The facilities were dirty, the internet didn’t work at all, and overall the place felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, at the end of our stay, a different man claimed we still owed more money, creating confusion and tension among us. Unprofessional and disorganized — absolutely unacceptable!

The location is great and the staff is friendly. There’s options to eat with oder guests for a cheap priced dinner. It’s easy to meet a other travelers. The room was okay. There is air conditioning. You should definitely bring your own lock with you. The downside was that there was only one toilet and only one shower for a lot of people of different dormateries to share. They weren’t really good either. There wasn’t any soap in the bathroom. Also the Wifi only worked in the lobby which was a really big downside for me.

It is a Very Friendly Place, in Summer probably best to book, 2022 it cost €20 per night, self catering dining area too, cycle heaven...

Entrecôte Bordeaux – Worth the Queue? Mixed Feelings! Be prepared to queue for over half an hour—only to feel like livestock being herded to market. Once seated, however, the atmosphere is surprisingly relaxed and less chaotic than its London counterparts. The food is what you'd expect: delicious steak, perfect frites, and excellent value. But there was a disappointing twist. Unlike in the London branches (last I checked), where the second helping comes as a pleasant surprise midway through your meal, here it arrives straight away on a separate heated plate. Initially, this seemed like a bonus—but the sauce had sadly split, making the dish overly greasy and ruining what is usually the star of the show: that iconic secret sauce. Staff were generally polite, but one interaction stood out for all the wrong reasons. When I asked a waitress for an extra glass for my water, she threw up her hands and loudly declared, "I'm not your waitress," much to my astonishment—and that of the table next to me. After queuing 35 minutes, a simple glass didn’t feel like an outrageous ask. All in all, it's still a good steak frites experience—just not quite as good as the Marylebone branch, largely due to the sauce issue and that one unpleasant interaction. I can’t help but think that, here in the heart of Bordeaux, there must be somewhere offering equally good steak frites, without the queue and with staff who seem genuinely glad to have you there. Highly rated restaurnst so we went here for lunch during our Bordeaux trip. Restaurant opens at 12 and we arrived 1145. Queue is already long but we can go straight in once it is open. You just need to order your drinks and the food will be served. Salad come shortly after, then the steak and chips follow. The portion of the chips are super large and they will refill once you almost finished. They put a little candle below the steak and chips but the heat is not warm enough to keep the chips and steak hot. So it is suggested to finish the food asap. Good atmosphere in the restaurant!

We went back the very next day to eat at L’Entrecôte again and I think that says it all 🥩 When we arrived in Bordeaux, a friend recommended L’Entrecôte near the InterContinental, and we couldn’t resist giving it a try. We decided to line up around 8 p.m., which is prime dinner time, and yes, the line was long enough to make us worry we’d be starving by the time we got a seat. But our taxi driver just smiled and said, “Doesn’t matter” meaning the wait would be absolutely worth it🫢 Once inside, the concept is delightfully simple: there’s basically one main thing on the menu the entrecôte steak, served with their signature sauce, fries, and a light salad. The service was speedy, and the salad was a refreshing opener. I’d been to their Paris location before, where they serve the second portion halfway through the meal like it was a surprise. In Bordeaux, they do it a little differently. First, they portion out everyone’s steak individually on your plate. Then, when it’s time for that second helping, they bring it out on a silver plate with all the sauce together. I actually loved this approach because it meant we could really enjoy that extra sauce with our fries and steak exactly as we liked. The steak was tender, cooked perfectly to medium-rare, and absolutely delicious. We ended up loving it so much we came back the next day for lunch. It’s definitely a must-visit in Bordeaux and it’s great value for what you get! 🌟

Pretty place with quite a queue… The dish itself was alright. The meat was okay. The sauce tasted like thailand’s green curry for some reason. Which was fine and it gave me new experience. The fries were not really to my liking but my companies enjoyed it. I did enjoyed the house wine. Service was efficient and our server was nice to us. The salad was also nicely seasoned. Overall a pretty good place to try if you are a tourist.

I really enjoyed their tiramisu and wine selection. On the contrary, their menu wasn’t that great. I tried their saint-nectaire roti and mignon de porc a la moutarde but I felt they didn’t have much taste. I would give it a second chance. The atmosphere and service were great. Also, I’ve heard good things about their duck.

Food came out quickly and clearly popular but food was average for me. Tomatoes were not ripe and the cuttlefish was overcooked. The aubergine starter dip was nice. I booked last min and sat outside in the narrow (quaint) street, I saw other walk ins get refused.

Had a beautiful lunch here everything was top notch from the gorgeous Bordeaux red to the thoughtful three-courses. Loved my mozzarella starter the tomatoes were so fresh and flavourful especially with the homemade pesto and generous amount of olive oil. My partner’s eggplant caviar was also so delicious. The pork tenderloin was perfectly dressed up with the mustard sauce and the new potatoes were to die for. The duck breast was also cooked to perfection. The dessert showstopper was the chocolate mousse but the speculoos tiramisu wasn’t bad, just not as much of a star as the mousse. The service was very kind and friendly, and we appreciate their warmth even though we spoke English. Would love to come back and try more. Thanks, team!

price was ok but food and service both asked a lot of questions. the saint-nectaire rôti was just warm cheese with 2 super thin discs of bread. the veau sauté was just a stew that any french cook could easily throw together. everything lacked seasoning. the mousse au chocolat was thick and stodgy. the service was hasselled and rude. the overall experience was that they are just trying to get people in and out as fast as possible despite it being 2 sittings. the setting was uncomfortable and the facilities were unclean. would hesitate to recommend this one.

The only saving grace for this place is that it’s cheap. Basic food with a very poor execution. (dry chicken is a huge no-no. Also that squid dish: plain rice(clumpy as well), boiled squids, a couple of cherry tomatoes and mayonnaise (served separately)…)). Why would you even serve it…. Service was ok though, no complaints.

Burger is my favorite food so I always try them everywhere I go and honestly, people are always surprised when I tell them that France has the best burgers. And this really is one of the best! Top quality meat! You can always tell the burger has good meat when the place serves tartare. Fries were excellent as well. Even the vegan tartare was delicious. For the unpretentious place, they even use rose petals on the tartare, that is soo French. The only issue here is the place in itself, it is tiny and you eat inside the kitchen so you can imagine how it smells, so get there first at 11h30 lol. Toilet is full of flies. So the ambience is a 1 or even 0, but still rate t just because of the food is so Damm good

Amazing place to grab food. Service was great and the food was amazing at very fair prices. I loved the duck breast with a great presentation as well. Only issue is sitting in the back of the restaurant has a bit of an interesting smell coming from the bathroom stairwell. Additionally, the seating is very limited so wait times can vary.

Honestly, I still don’t understand how this place managed to get such a high rating on Google reviews. Are you guys okay? Since we were short on time, we picked this restaurant based on its Google reviews, and I regretted it the moment I stepped inside. But I couldn’t turn back. Right when you enter, a strong, unpleasant smell hits you. The seating area is tiny, airless, smells awful, and is full of flies. They’ve placed a tiny ventilation fan at the back, but it’s useless. Flies were everywhere. I didn’t order anything at all. Only my son and husband ate, and even they could barely manage. I simply couldn’t. The fries come in a large portion, but they were dry, tasteless, and extremely over-fried. As for the burgers—impossible to eat. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to pour sauce on the outside of the burger bun? A ridiculous dish served in a ridiculous setting. I absolutely, definitely do not recommend this place. You’d be wasting your money.

I am a bit 50/50 about this restaurant. I ordered the filet mignon and it was just a burger patty with sauce on it. I did expect actual meat pieces. My partner had a burger and I was nice. We both felt very ill after, which was a shame. Not sure about this place. Service was okay.

The whole experience at Restaurant Son' was exceptional. The food was exquisite and the service top class. The recommended wine pairing for each course was quite a revelation. Being in Bordeaux I expected all the wines to be at least French. I was wrong - a global selection was offered. The dessert was presented in a music box themed around "The Little Prince". A delightful presentation and a superb dessert. Dining at Restaurant Son' is a treat not to be missed if you are in Bordeaux.

This was a great find!!! The food was next level, absolutely amazing flavours and creations were sensational. The experiments with different flavours and preparation was something we have never seen or tasted before!!! Do not let this restaurant pass you by!!! Dessert was out this world!!!! Ensure to book ahead of time. If we ever visit Bordeaux again - we will be back 100%!!!! Only downfall is they need air conditioning- it was very humid inside especially on a warm July evening.

I got the menu and i liked almost all of the items presented. Especially cassoulette was really tasty. Onion soup was also good but not as good. The desert was rice pudding with caramel and it was just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely recommended for price to perf ratio

I went in to this place by chance and it was a great surprise. Amazing old style decorations that makes you feel you are in this nice old french farm house. All waitresses wear super mario clothes and the way they present the menu is so cool -) Super friendly staff but food was just ok. It could have been better with more selections. I would still go back though as I loved the vibe.

As it was saturday night it was difficult to go to big famous places without a reservation. So walking around and feeling witty made us deciding to eat here. It looked frence and local… and it is. We took the menu of the day: - union soup - glaced ribs - fish stew My opinion you get value for money and you have a good evening Points of improvement: - the waiters look rushed it is busy but you will sell more if you take time and look around whom needs attention

I hesitate to leave a review because I enjoyed great service from the crew. However, I think more thoughts could be given into the harmony of each dish, different flavors might be too contrasting and not complementary e.g. berry jam and bisque was too sharp and masked the taste of other elements. Oil felt stale for fried fish. I understand that the chef tried to incorporate Japanese style of cooking but since I am highly familiar with Japanese flavors, skills seem to be lacking for fine details. For the price point, I was hoping for more refined cooking and better executed dishes.

The service was excellent, as was the wine and the presentation of the food. It’s a very calm interior, there's pretty much no atmosphere, it’s all the food and what’s happening at your table. Good or bad you decide. Half of the menu was some of the best food I’ve ever had - the leek dish incredible. The main was very good. The artichoke dish I felt was heavily overpowered by the buckwheat. Overall great experience, would return.

One of the best meals of my life. The food: the textures and colors, the variety and interesting combinations were pure perfection. From the moment we walked in this restaurant, we felt welcome and we were treated wonderfully. The cocktails were fantastic, the amuse bouche was wonderful. This is a small restaurant with a wonderful staff. And reservations are a must. The staff explained what the courses were as they were brought out — even explained it in English as we don’t speak French. A fabulous experience that we will never forget.

We loved our evening at Influences restaurant. We felt warmly welcomed and comfortable throughout our visit. The tables are well spaced, so you never feel like you’re sharing your evening with the neighboring guests. The décor is elegant, and the service was impeccable. The food was absolutely outstanding. We had contacted the restaurant in advance about our dietary restrictions, and despite it being a “surprise menu,” every dish was perfectly adapted for us. Each course was a true explosion of flavors and textures—a genuine culinary experience.

Affordable and classic, right next to the train- so perfect for a last (or first) meal in Bordeaux! PS. It has gluten friendly options! We started with a gluten free (without bread) French onion soup. Then for the main dish- I will never forget how delicious the duck was! My friends thoroughly enjoyed the veal and steak options. For those who prefer to travel affordably and classic places- this is perfect for you! The history is interesting as well- apparently is was a common restaurant for miners and other workers. To this day they keep the meals on the affordable side. Would go back!

Highly recommended! Very French; the menu, the decor and ambience, the staff. We had a lovely dinner, also extremely good value. TIP: if you are able to book online in advance, you can skip the queue for a table, which is sometimes long, but moves quickly. Also, that way, you get a QR code to pay at your table when you are ready, which provides for a quick getaway if you have a train to catch. Otherwise, as other reviewers have commented, you pay at the till, where there may be a queue.

We had an amazing experience here! We had the Premier Pas lunch menu which was amazing value at €42 for 3 courses of Michelin Star food - although it was more like 6 courses! Highlights were the pork belly, pollock and the apple patisserie surprise at the end! Paired with a refreshing white wine at a reasonable cost of €11. The service was super friendly, helpful and informative about the complex dishes! They even ask you if there’s anything you don’t want before you arrive! Well worth a 5 Star for everything!

Beautiful restaurant. The food was unbelievable. We were unfortunately 30 minutes late due to an issue with our taxi and had to call a different Uber last minute, we were quite sad as we thought our reservation would be cancelled but the restaurant staff were accomodating and helpful and helped us still have a magical night. This place was recommended by the receptionist of the hotel where we were starting at. The staff is professional and has some expertise in cheese and wine. Large choice of regional and national great quality products. We would recommend a mix plate of charcuterie (all kind) and cheese (crémeux de Bourgogne especially). We were in need of some pub style food. The menu has a range of options and we found everything that we ordered was tasty. The venue is nice with a great vibe and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Got to enjoy two of my favorite things in the world - IPA and sweet potato fries. Totally did not disappoint, the potato fries were perfectly crunchy, not too sweet not too salty! 👌🏼I want the recipe!!! The vibe is a bit industrial inside but cheerful. And they seem to switch the beer menu frequently and host some events like language exchange which is cool. I now have one more reason to return to Bordeaux.

Had dinner here last night. Food was amazing, staff were amazing, cocktails were amazing! Nothing was too much for them. We didnt love any of their set menu cocktails, so they made us one based on our preferences and they were DELICIOUS! Atmosphere was quite chilled, but nothing was slow… waited only a minute for a table, service was really efficient. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, I will 100% be going back here next time I am in Bordeaux.

3 stars – Great flavors, but not worth the price The food here was undeniably delicious—every dish we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. However, the portion sizes were extremely small, especially considering the high prices. We spent €120 for two people and left still hungry, which is disappointing. The cocktails were mostly ice, with very little actual drink, and felt more like a garnish than a proper beverage. For example, the chicken dish had only 16 tiny pieces, and the calamari plate had about 20 very, very small rings. Everything tasted great, but the value just wasn’t there. Sadly, we had to go find another place to eat afterward. I wouldn’t return, even though the food was excellent—simply because the portions and pricing don’t match.

Dim sum is the most proud part of Cantonese cuisine, but in France or even Paris, it is really hard to find a dim sum restaurant with authentic taste, fresh ingredients and fine workmanship. Moreover, most of the time, what is available is frozen food. Tonight I found a long-lost sense of intimacy, the dishes here are exactly the same as what I had in Hong Kong. All the pieces are hand-made on the same day. They are works of art that can satisfy both visual and taste enjoyment. If you want to taste real Cantonese dim sum, real Chinese food, then don't miss this restaurant. The cocktails here are also the most incredible among the many bars in Bordeaux.

Everything here was excellent! This was recommended by a local during an earlier experience, and it became our best meal in Bordeaux. Drinks were perfectly crafted, food was outstanding all around, and desserts were mind blowing. Just amazing. Would love to come back in the future.

However, during my visit, I noticed that some staff members had noticeable body odor, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. Wow—this was my favorite restaurant in Bordeaux! For a Michelin-star spot, it’s surprisingly affordable. The food was absolutely amazing, from the presentation to the flavors—everything was spot on. I had read about Le Cent 33 in a "best of" list of Bordeaux restaurants, and the staff did not disappoint! My wife and I opted for the four-course meal with wine pairings and it was sublime. Particularly good was the artichoke opening course and arctic char second course. My wife said the "honey & hay" dessert was one of the best she has had, and we've had a lot of great restaurant meals. The staff also deserves recognition. They were incredible friendly and welcoming. We especially liked the wine presentation (and found a new favorite Bordeaux red--Chateau Haut-Bergey). Lastly, the night we visited a two-piece jazz ensemble provided an extra dose of relaxed atmosphere, made even more special when the chef joined in! Highly recommended!

What an unforgettable experience we had at Cent Trente Trois. Every dish showcased the freshest seasonal ingredients, with the spring salad and asparagus entrée standing out as particular highlights. The creativity of the kitchen truly impressed us, from the trompe l'œil orange amuse-bouche to the playful champagne sorbet with its subtle fizz, and the unexpected yet perfect pairing of peanut butter with asparagus. Each course felt like a delightful surprise, and the thoughtfully curated wine pairing, plus a bold addition of sake, made the entire meal feel like a joyful culinary adventure. A heartfelt bravo to the inventive chef and the gracious, charming team of servers who clearly took pride in delivering such a memorable dining experience.

Super lovely place! This is a casual wine bar that serves small plates of food with the wines. We actually had dinner here; the dishes were so rich that it really filled us up. But you can also just come in for a drink with a small bite. You can choose individual small dishes combined with glasses or bottles of wine or you can have a pairing menu. We chose the latter option and got three different glasses of great wines with our food. The staff is very friendly, speaks great English and takes their time to explain the menu to you and recommend you the right wines. The atmosphere is chill, with a mix of small seated tables and sofas that provide a more casual atmosphere. Some laid back music in the background, two laid back dogs also there somewhere, and a nice crowd of what seemed mostly locals, meeting to chat with friends on a Friday evening. When we entered around 19:00h it was still very quiet but after 20:00 the place filled up. Overall just a very tasty and relaxing experience. If I lived in Bordeaux this would probably become one of my standard hangouts. Enjoy!

Cosy and very cute wine bar with delicious small plates, great wines and friendly staff and service. We loved our experience here and felt very welcomed and well looked after. We had a delicious bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and shared some delicious food including prawns, salmon gravlax and fish rillette. The chocolate mousse was amazing!! The prices were very reasonable too! Great wine bar with amazing food. We tried the salmon gravlax, cheese platter, and tuna tartar and they were all amazing. We got to try multiple wines and ended up having 4 different wines each (by the glass). Would definitely recommend this place.

A wonderful wine bar, with delicious food and perfect wine pairings. We had a lovely evening of sharing tapas style food, and discovering wines from the region. The decor is quirky and welcoming, comfortable arm chairs and a few rocking chairs too.

A wonderful wine bar tucked away from the crowds. The wine, food, and service were outstanding, and the owners are exceptionally kind. We’re not very knowledgeable about wine, but they took the time to let us sample different options based on the flavor profiles we enjoy.

Was taken to this restaurant on our visit to Bordeaux by some big fans of the place (was their 4th time back). The food, wine and service were magnificent. Also, great value for money, you can do a little tasting plate of all the entrees (the Salmon Gravlax was incredible). Will 100% be coming back on our next visit. Highly recommend!

Great Flamenco show on NYE. Everything is cool about this place except the lighting which really needs to be fixed. Ambiance during dinner is strange and it’s purely about the lighting. Still I’d go back.

Top. Top. Top. Menu, quality of food, service, friendliness, added touches, ambiance, decor. I enthusiastically recommend this venue which offers more than a meal. Oh, and check out the restrooms - amazing. Hats off!

Went for brunch here and it was so calm with great staff and there was a live music session happening which suited the mood perfectly, highly recommended

Upon checking in we were happy to be upgraded to a suite for one of our other rooms. The suite didn’t feel like a suite but like two rooms put together into a suite. No living room table for the supposed living room. All the amenities were not in good shape. It feels outdated and didn’t know if the rooms were even inspected. The brunch at the boudior de Lea was absolutely terrifying experience. It took 30 to order and another ten for the drinks to arrive and another ten for the food to come. The wait is long but we expected the food to be excellent coming from a restaurant within a five star hotel. The food is cold without any temperature and it’s feels like a lack of care for the food. Overall it’s a terrible experience in both the hardware and software. The director of rooms said she would like to follow up with us, there was no follow up at all. The location is great but other than that’s it’s not worth the price for a suite or a room.

Maybe the best hotel experience I've ever had! The Intercontinental Bordeaux is a historic and beautiful hotel in the very center of town. We were greeted by the most helpful and cheerful staff you could imagine that made the check in process so easy and enjoyable. The room itself was spacious and beautiful (photos can't capture how nice). Premium products in the bathroom and the softest bed I've slept in. We were celebrating our anniversary and they sent us champagne and a cake. Absolutely wonderful.

We were received and welcome by Sabrina, She was most accommodating and made us feel comfortable. Also during our stay Morgan and Andria were most helpful during our stay. My husband and I stayed at the Intercontinental Bordeaux for only two nights, we were blown away by the service. We were checked in by the very lovely Andrea at the front desk. After our long day of travel she was very kind, recognising our status as IHG Platinum and Intercon. Ambassador members. We were allocated a beautiful suite with direct view of the Opera House, along with some delicious welcome plates of macaron, the local canelé and fresh fruit. An absolute delight. The hotel locations is very central with a number of amazing restaurants, bars and retail stores to explore. We were also very impressed by the spa facilities, although did not have the time to enjoy a treatment this time. Throughout the stay we found every member of staff we encountered to be charming and helpful from the Bell Team, to the staff within the lounge bar and the breakfast team. We look forward to returning.

The hotel is exceptional & the staff also go well above and beyond. I cannot say enough about the staff. The room was amazing, the workout room had a ton of equipment & the spa was next level.

Perfect location for exploring all that Bordeaux has to offer. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast is fantastic, with many options and great coffee. Service throughout the hotel is attentive and professional.

Food was amazing (steak for 2 people), drinks less so. My mojito tasted like it had no rum in it and my wife's Aperol spritz wasn't very nice. The Hugo spritz was better and they removed the Aperol from the bill, which was good of them. View is lovely.

Right on the water! Fantastic view of the sunset over Bordeaux! Quaint atmosphere. Great date night spot! I’m vegetarian - yummy plate for me. Husband had beef filet and mashed potatoes - rich reduction, comfort food delightful! Fun desserts. It was very warm at 8 pm but temps are unusually high right now - dress comfortably. Lovely evening!

The view of the sunset over Burdeaux was amazing. Service and food was equally as good. Very attentive to detail.

We have had lunch here several times. It never disappoints. Food is inventive and beautifully presented. Service is friendly and gracious. As to the ambience and view it’s hard to beat. Go and enjoy.

Great concept, very welcoming, we were only new to Bordeaux and we loved the opportunity to try a small, medium or normal glass of so many different wines (at a price but reasonable for the wine), highly recommended!

This was our first wine and cheese experience in France. After checking in to our Hotel we walked up the street to this cute place. The owner was wearing a NY Yankees hat and was super friendly. The staff was quite knowledgable about the local wines and made good suggestions for us. We went back on our 3rd day in town with our travel companions and had an equally good experience

Our favorite wine bar in Bordeaux! We stumbled across this place on our first night and kept coming back. The service was friendly and helpful, and the wines were wonderful. Loved the vibe - casual enough for friends and romantic enough for a date. Thank you for making our trip so memorable, we can't wait to come back!

Absolutely amazing experience. The bartender was so accurate at suggesting wines when given our likes/dislikes and beyond friendly to english speaking patrons. The fromage was also to die for. I would absolutely suggest this place if you’re looking to discover new wines in a friendly atmosphere.

Great food for a reasonable price. Will definitly come again. A lot of people during lunch time, but hardly anyone there a little later. Because of the set up it is a great spot for single persons or couples. Wouldn't recommend it for bigger groups.

Great ramen restaurant! This ramen restaurant feels like a very authentic Japanese casual ramen spot - they were cooking over the counter in a small room. However, the "ramen" they served was slightly different from the traditional style. It was Shoyu (soy sauce) ramen with unusually thick noodles. Nevertheless, the soup tasted okay, and it was very hot, which is crucial for authentic ramen. I also liked the pork. It was similar to the traditional old-fashioned style. As other Japanese people have commented, don't expect a very authentic dish. Otherwise, you can enjoy their ramen; in particular for those who spent several years in Europe like me.

The dumplings were exquisite. Staff friendly, helpful and attentive. Yakisoba was tasty
