Breakfast restaurant
Situated in the heart of Gloucestershire, Curious Cafe & Bistro offers a distinctive dining experience with its homemade dishes made from fresh, seasonal ingredients. Operating Tuesday to Saturday from 7 am to 6 pm, this lively venue serves indulgent treats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The cafe is committed to supporting local suppliers and small-scale producers while providing delicious meals that also benefit the community.
Went here on a quite Monday afternoon. Service was super fast, food delicious and the hot chocolate was great too. Had the French toast which was delicious the perfect amount of maple syrup. The naughty hot chocolate with Baileys was divine. Really well decorated in a garden theme. Lots of outdoor seating with cosy blankets and lighting.

The birthday 🎂 boy (that's me, that is) went here for lunch with friends, Georgeous and Margo. We all had a splendid time. The food was well cooked and well presented but what really made it great were the staff. Wonderful young ladies, sparkling ✨️ conversation with personalities to match. A joy to share their company for a short while. Happy, smiling faces who gave the impression that they really enjoyed their Curious Cafe experience 😀.

Best Full English we had during our stay in the Cotswolds. The sausages were delicious, black pudding was crispy and the hush browns-full of flavour. Beware: the portions are massive. We ordered one to share and left the place more than satisfied.

A really lovely cafe with polite and hard-working employees. Soo many tasty choices on the menu so we struggled to choose just one ! It was quite busy here at Sunday lunchtime but that is 100% understandable👌 and not a problem, the service is as speedy as they possibly can. Nice social atmosphere too. Also the toasties are DELICIOUS

A really lovely place to have breakfast. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and the food is amazing!! However, we were waiting an hour from the time we ordered the food, to the time our food arrived. We also noticed people around us not very happy either that the wait was so long.

We had a great first visit to the Curious Café and Bistro. The food was amazing and very high quality (very thick bacon! And poached egg cooked perfectly), the staff were helpful and friendly, and we were so impressed with how dog-friendly it was. As well as dogs being allowed in the main café, we were offered two biscuit bones when the coffee was brought to the table and a blanket and water. We will be repeat customers for a long time to come x

This cafe is a sort of Cheltenham institution, but I've only visited once before many years ago...until today. Decided to stop for brunch with my friend, we're both visiting after moving away several years ago. The outside area is lovely and well sheltered from the weather. The menu has some delicious-sounding options which made picking food quite tricky! I'll have to come back to try a couple of other options. Yummy omelette, not greasy, packed with ham and mushrooms. The baked beans and hash browns on the side were great too. Proper fresh mint tea to go with it. My friend loved his jacket spud. Really good value too.

Fabulous breakfast in magical garden with lots of tucked away tables that felt like a great secret. All the staff were so friendly. My son and I took our dog and he was looked after beautifully too with gravy bones and attention. Sadly don’t live in Cheltenham but if I did this would be my regular.

Hetty's Place is now accepting bookings for Pancake Day, offering 90-minute slots from 8:00 am to 6:15 pm. The menu will feature a variety of sweet and savory pancakes, with more details to come. Visitors rave about the stunning view over the docks and the friendly staff. The diverse selection of drinks includes tea, coffee, and soft drinks, along with delicious specials.
Tried something different for breakfast today – and it did not disappoint! I had the Turkish Eggs – perfectly poached eggs served over creamy, garlicky yogurt, finished with a drizzle of spicy butter and a touch of fresh dill. It might sound unusual if you haven’t had it before, but trust me, it works beautifully. The eggs were spot on – yolks still runny – and paired with warm sourdough, it was one of those flavours that makes you stop mid-bite and go, “Wow.” My husband went for the lamb sausages with eggs on sourdough, and again – wow. The flavours were bold, warming, and full of depth. Everything on the plate just came together so well. To top it off, we both had an iced caramel coffee – smooth, refreshing, and just sweet enough. We’ll definitely be back. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was Christmas, 1941. Barnes Wallis had left a meeting with military leaders charged with shortening the war in Europe. He was sat in Hetty's Place on Gloucester Quays pondering his, and the country's, future. He ordered himself a delicious mug of hot chocolate and requested all the trimmings, including mini marshmallows. In frustration he hurled one of the marshmallows from the edge of the table into the cup, which was centrally placed on the table in front of him. It only skimmed the surface of the beverage and ended up on the floor, some four feet from his mug. This gave Barnes an idea 💡. What if..........? he thought. His mind went into overdrive and within minutes he formulated the concept of the bouncing bomb 💣. Hetty's Place had provided him with the inspiration which would lead to the demolition of German dams during Operation Chastise, the Dam Busters raid. Wonderful coffee, with swirlies created by a true swirly master, the sort of swirly you look at for quite a while before getting stuck into the remarkable beverage. Truly delicious 😋 homemade cakes to accompany your drink. If you require something more substantial the chef will cook you something which tastes as good as it looks, and please note it looks fantastic! Great atmosphere created by the marvelous people t'other side of the counter, working in tandem to satisfy your culinary needs. To cap it all they also offer a nice view over the Quays. Spoil yourself next time you're in Gloucester and pop into Hetty's for a treat!

The atmosphere is lovely, it is in a lovely location with a beautiful view of the docks. The staff were nice and friendly. However we were both disappointed in the food. I had the breakfast rosti stack with a side of garlic miso mushrooms and my partner had a breakfast toastie. My food was very salty and covered in a very strong tasting (to me at least ) ketchup, I had assumed that would come on the side for dipping but instead it was heavily drizzled on top of and around the food. The mushrooms also tasted like nothing sadly, which is strange considering both garlic and miso are punchy flavours. It was definitely not worth the extra £2.75 for them. The poached egg had a slight runnyness but was perhaps a bit over done, as was the bottom of the rosti as well. My partners toastie was okay. He said the egg was cooked well but expected more cheese and there was an unexpected but not necessarily unpleasant spiciness. I enjoyed the hot chocolate. I opted for the 55% cocoa version. It would be nice if there was a milk chocolate option as well as the white and dark. I had also added toasted marshmallow fluff to my drink which whilst delicious was not at all toasted. To summarise, it is a beautiful location, with 'Instagram worthy' plating, but the actual food left us disappointed. Definitely felt like style over substance. It was also very expensive for what it was. In my opinion, perhaps a place more for coffee and cake than cooked brunches.

visited for the first time today, seated really quickly, food came out fast and was really nice dis not disappoint. i went for the breakfast rosti stack which was amazing and my friend had the butterscotch banana pancake stack. only criticism is the menu on the website was not the same as the menu i was given when i arrived so would hope this could be more frequently updated. male server was slightly abrupt and i didn't get to order another item before he had walked off but i can appreciate it was a bank holiday Friday so he was probably rushing around. will be back soon!!

The food and service were lovely, but the coffee was terrible. Unfortunately none of the baristas, although very friendly, were appropriately trained. I felt awful having to sent the coffee back twice, but the barista simply had no idea what she was doing wrong. The espresso in the flat white was over-extracted (tasted super bitter and burnt) which is clear that the grinder is not calibrated appropriately and the ‘cappuccino’ was very watery and lava hot (which obviously makes the milk seperate and taste awful, and which she then had to keep slamming on the countertop to get rid of the bubbles). Also the barista couldn’t answer any of my questions about the coffee origins or roast level. Management, please do better!

My first visit today Positives Nice set up My food was tasty and hot . Negatives Three members of staff on and not busy but i had to wait 30 minutes for the food Chef had a dirty tea towel over his shoulder Staff on mobile phones Came out smelling of food ( not sure why there isn’t ventilation) And quite expensive for what you get . I won’t be making a return.

What a lovely place overlooking the docks. Attentive staff, nice background music and I should not have taken extra bacon on my sandwich and two cakes! A must visit place for Gloucester Docks.

I had an amazing experience at No. 131 in Cheltenham! The food was absolutely fantastic—every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. What really made the visit special was the quirky, charming room—full of character and unique touches that created a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, warm service, and a fun, distinctive setting. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

Amazing hotel, the outdoor drinking area at the back is great. Both Restaurants look lovely. Only thing I would advise is the music is quite loud in case you’re staying with a baby! Definitely would return. Gorgeous Cheltenham. The rooms and styling is beautiful. No expense spared.

We were looking for somewhere to have a coffee in the sunshine on a visit to Cheltenham and noticed 131s lovely terrace with the coffee van. The coffee was really good and service was with a smile. We enjoyed the tunes and watching the world go by in the chilled atmosphere. We'd definitely come back to see what the food is like.

I am in love with this hotel . It is one the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in. The rooms are just exquisite . Food was absolutely delicious. The only problem I had was with the air con in the room . We were not allowed to lower the temperature so the room stayed hot for a while as it was a very hot day. Plus they should have switched it on before arrival . I was sweating a lot before it became cooler in the evening. Have to say , staff and surroundings were absolutely brilliant.
Lubna K — Google review
I don’t often leave reviews but this place needs some honest feedback. We visited 131 for lunch with a group of friends yesterday and I was extremely disappointed with the total lack of service. It took 45 minutes for our first round of drinks to make it to the table, bearing in mind it was 32 degrees. As I walked back to the table from the bathroom, I overheard the waitress serving our table say loudly to another server “oh my god! *That table!*”. I’m sorry if we caused her such a disservice by bringing our custom to the restaurant! None of the other staff that served us were much better, clearly untrained and poorly managed. A smile wouldn’t go amiss! Food is pleasant but pretty simple and overpriced, ambience is nice. I have visited previously a few years ago and thought the dreadful service might have been fixed by now. Shame really. The other reviews sum up everything you need to know.
Ben R — Google review
We had dinner here as a group of 6, with 2 children. The service was exceptional, food choices varied and incredibly good. They cater very well for children with good choices and healthy options. The drinks list was extensive and catered for the non drinkers.

Cafe

Located on Digbeth Street in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, The Hive is a charming café known for its classic fare and rustic ambiance. The cozy interior with stone walls creates a homey setting where visitors can enjoy freshly roasted coffee and homemade artisan produce throughout the day. The fully licensed eatery offers a laid-back atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a delicious Cotswolds brunch or just to drop in for a drink.
The warmest of welcomes as we came through the door. Lovely staff, couldn't do enough for us. Literally every member of staff smiled and that goes a long way. The venue is a clean and tidy cafe, very well presented. The menu had plenty to choose from and the Full Hive breakfast was outstanding. We will definitely return.

Just left the cafe and feel we have to review straight away as it was fantastic. Struggled to find a cafe with gluten free options and the hive had plenty. We had the warmest welcome, gorgeous brunch (such good GF bread!!!) and such good coffee. I would recommend the Hive to anyone.
Miss M — Google review
One of my family members raved about this cafe/restaurant during their trip to Stow-on-the-Wold last year, so of course, we had to try it while visiting the Cotswolds. We arrived shortly before closing one afternoon and were seated right away. We tried the vegan sticky toffee pudding and a “pim” slice of cake: both were so good!! You couldn’t tell that the sticky toffee pudding was vegan at all, especially with its rich and decadent frosting. We enjoyed every bite and would definitely return the next time we’re visiting!
I I — Google review
I really wanted to leave a 5 star review, however, i found the price point to be excessive which I presume is “cotswold weighting” largely I guess to the number of one hit tourists visiting. Im not a fan of tipping culture in coffee shops and cafes, and being asked to tip, even though its polite (I did tip) added to an already expensive experience. Everything else is as you would expect, well presented and pleasant.
Rob — Google review
The Hive was such a good find - we stayed in the apartment and ate in the cafe. Both were excellent! Spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable apartment where attention to detail is evident. Absolutely everything has been thought of - from the electric remotely operated skylights, to every conceivable kitchen item, plenty of crockery, glasses etc so no need to keep washing up/putting dishwasher on, lovely white company bed linen and towels, smart TV with soundbar, underfloor heating in the bathroom, and so on. The cafe downstairs was the best we ate in throughout our week in the area (and we tried a few!). Deserving of it's obviously good reputation, made evident by the number of people in for weekend brunch. Lives up to it's name with the 'buzz' of people enjoying food from the exceptionally good menu. Super friendly owners and staff who were not flustered at all by the busy-ness of the cafe - patient, attentive, efficient service. I highly recommend the Hive for food and/or accommodation.
Fiona P — Google review
I recently visited this restaurant and was really impressed with the overall experience. The customer service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The food itself was okay, nothing extraordinary, but still enjoyable. Prices were reasonable, making it a great spot for a nice meal without breaking the bank. The atmosphere and décor were beautiful, creating a relaxing and inviting environment. Overall, a lovely place to dine, especially if you value excellent service and a great vibe.

What a pleasure it was to find this adorable little cafe. We enjoyed a Delicious breakfast and experienced excellent service, which is not surprising seeing as the owners are from Up North originally. Lovely to hear the Manchester twang! Would highly recommend

Trattoria Settebello in Gloucester is a popular Italian restaurant known for its entire gluten-free pasta range and authentic Italian experience. The menu features creamy carbonara, rich ragu, and flavorful fungi e tartufo sauces, along with a superb selection of fish and meat dishes. Guests can indulge in gelato, sorbet, or panna cotta for dessert. The restaurant also offers highly rated pizzas made with the finest ingredients.
Service is very good. Relaxing environment facing the canals. Particularly like the deep fried sea food Fritto Misto which is really crispy and isn’t oily at all. Tiramisu is also delicious and not very sweet

Enjoyed a taste sensation at this italian restaurant in Gloucester. Service was very attentive, however a little slow, but I appreciate it was a busy Friday evening. Location fantastic with alfresco dinning. We indulged in a pizza and pasta combo, which did not disappoint 10/10 on flavours and would definitely return to sample more from the menu.

Perfect Anniversary Dinner at Gloucester Docks We visited Trattoria Settebello for our first wedding anniversary and it couldn’t have been more perfect. On arrival, the team warmly acknowledged our special occasion, which was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the evening. The decor is absolutely beautiful and we chose to sit indoors, with lovely views of the docks. Even on a Sunday evening, there was a lively buzz without being overwhelming. Our server, Josh, was excellent throughout – professional, polite, and attentive, which really enhanced the experience. The food was outstanding. We started with calamari, and I can honestly say it was the best I’ve ever had – perfectly cooked, delicious flavour, and a generous portion. For mains, we shared the carbonara and a margherita classica pizza. Both were amazing: authentic, full of flavour, and served in hearty portions. The food was so good that we sadly had no room left for dessert, but that just gives us a reason to return! We also enjoyed a refreshing strawberry mocktail and finished the evening with a lovely coffee, which rounded everything off perfectly. Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish – a fantastic atmosphere, outstanding food, and wonderful service. Highly recommended for a special occasion or simply a great night out. We’ll definitely be back.

The staff are attentive and friendly, providing excellent service that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk Thank you to everyone who checked on our table during our dining experience today. Your attentive service made our meal even more enjoyable and comfortable. We truly appreciate the care and friendliness you showed throughout our visit!

Excellent Italian in the docks. We really enjoyed the polenta chips (more like.hash browns) and pizza. And the nutella and mascapone calzone and tiramisu for dessert.
Matthew W — Google review
We visited for dinner. Brilliant service and atmosphere. The starter of calamari and scotch egg from the specials menu were outstanding. I love seafood, but the mezzi paccheri al gamberi was so fishy and inedible, not quite right. The staff kindly swapped the dish for Caparrico pizza which was nice. The spicy calbrese pizza was fantastic. We would visit again.

The Lavender Bakehouse & Coffee Shop in Chalford is a beloved spot among locals, offering an array of delectable cakes and a variety of hot beverages including coffee, luxurious hot chocolate, chai, and milkshakes. Guests can indulge in breakfast or brunch with options like full English or vegan breakfasts, pancakes, Belgian waffles, Turkish eggs, and grilled sourdough sandwiches.
Stopped here for lunch as we were passing and we pleasantly surprised. We had two grilled sandwiches (goats cheese, walnut and onion, and tuna and cheese) and drinks. The folks was absolutely delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Portion sizes were good and we really enjoyed our lunch here. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Me and my partner came here for breakfast and the food was absolutely delicious! I had the Reuben sandwich and it tasted incredible - the meat, the bread and the pickles were so full of flavour. The chai coffee was amazing too and I highly recommend it. There are a variety of cakes and little gifts of various things to buy in the shop. Toilets were available upstairs. There is free car parking directly outside.

Beautiful atmosphere, but unfortunately let down by poor service. There were six staff members—two at the front and the rest in the back—yet the service was extremely slow. We ordered scones, coffee, and an English breakfast, and it took 40 minutes for the breakfast to arrive. It appeared that the team in the kitchen was disorganized and lacked coordination. While waiting, we noticed concerning hygiene practices: one staff member handling food was taking ingredients like cheese, bread, and lettuce from multiple places without washing her. FOH very good job BOH take the mic
The L — Google review
OK to decent coffee shop, I didn't try the coffee, I came to have full English breakfast. There are not many parking spaces, so arrive early, you may get blocked in but the staff are aware of this. The breakfast was OK, it was above greasy spoon cafe quality but there was no baked beans, or black pudding. It was OK, the sourdough bread was nice though. The pancakes were good, as was the milkshake. On the first floor there is a shop selling clothes, kids books, toys crafts etc.
Mister E — Google review
Food is generally good but service can be slow. We rarely visit though, as they will turf you out at 4 on the dot, regardless. When they say closing at 4 they really mean last orders at 3:30 and doors locked at 4pm. Could really learn about customer service from a café further down the canal who are lovely and friendly and will happily make a drink and cake 5 minutes before stated closing time. They let you consume this on the premises while they carry on cleaning up.
The W — Google review
Terrible service, mediocre food and horribly over priced. All told a woeful lunch experience. Find a better destination if you want value for money.

Really lovely place. Staff are friendly. Chill lovely vibes with amazing food. The cream tea is 100% worth the price. I never knew there was an upstairs with a few bits to shop from so that was a very nice surprise. There is a car park for the caffe or off road parking a short walk down the road.
Chloe C — Google review
I booked here for my sisters baby shower. The food was absolutely delicious and freshly made. The only thing that I felt let down by was a welcome from the staff and also service to see if everything was ok for the group or more drinks needed as the teapots kept running dry! But the thing that really did put me off was basically being swept out of the door before closing !

Breakfast restaurant
Revival Cafe Bar & Grill is a delightful casual eatery located just across the road from Spencer's, offering an impressive array of global cuisine. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast or a light lunch, Revival has something to satisfy every palate. Their menu features everything from classic full English breakfasts to vegan options, ensuring that all dietary preferences are catered for. For those seeking a quick bite, their small breakfast is affordably priced at 6.
We recently had lunch here, and it was an experience worth sharing. The meal was nothing short of exceptional, both in flavour and value. We ordered the grill mixt and shepherd’s pie, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The grill mixt was a hearty selection of perfectly cooked meats, each bursting with flavour. The shepherd's pie, rich and comforting, had a beautifully seasoned filling topped with a golden, fluffy mash – the very definition of a classic done right. But the true highlights of our meal were the desserts. The apple pie was a delightful blend of sweet and tart, with a flaky, buttery crust that was simply irresistible. The carrot cake was moist and perfectly spiced, with a cream cheese frosting that added the perfect touch of indulgence. It was the cherry on top of an already satisfying meal. Adding to the experience was the service – attentive, friendly, and efficient. The staff made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

Great place. We went for breakfast and both had the New York Pancakes with bacon on top. Very tasty. I liked that the bacon were chunked rather than whole pieces. We had a side of hash browns which were also very good. Service was good. Dog friendly. Cool spot.

It ain't no coffee place, it's a fully fledged rest-o-raunt. Coffee not too bad, in fact it's better than a lot of stuff out there. My eggs on my benedict were well cooked, and by that we're not talking overdone, we're talking cooked well. We're also talking cost effective pricing so why are there only three stars showing? It's all down to my personal preferences and Revival can't cater to what they're not aware of. Latte served in a glass is a no no. Latte served without a swirly is a no no. Give me a spoon that looks like Uri Geller's had a go at it is a no no no. Benedict served on a roof tile........ other than that.......

We had a great time dining here—it made our visit to Cheltenham feel quite the adventure. The owner, staff, and even the customers were all really friendly. Lovely food, and it was so nice sitting outside, watching people go about their day.

First time trying this cafe but so pleased I did! The staff were absolutely lovely. The drinks and food came so quickly! Special mention to Emma who was a delight to deal with. Would highly recommend for some quick, easy and tasty food. Kids portion was just right for my 3 year old daughter who ate every bite! Apparently they were understaffed but you would never have known!

Love this place! Salvatore is a champion! Delicious breakfast and awesome coffee... Sicilian style!

I ordered the basil tomato soup and it tasted distinctly like pizza sauce. It came with "warm bread." Really awful fat white sliced bread. One small foil wrapped butter pat. When I asked for another, he tossed another one onto my table. I ordered a decaf latte and got instant decaf latte. He was kind enough to provide the foil packet. The cafe is cute. The owner/server spend the entire time at the 2 tables in front of me trashing a common acquaintance and his "coarse" wife. Yuck on so many levels. Finally, I had just been somewhere earlier, and because I was talking, i misplaced my payment card. The owner/server noticed me searching my pockets and my pack. He loudly said (so the entire restaurant would hear him asking) if I had a problem. I assume he was thinking I was going to stiff and him he was not going to let any shenanigans go unnoticed. I found it. I paid him. And I happily went out into the rain.

We came here as we really wanted to try somewhere different and saw a lovely pic on their fb of eggs Benedict. What we got was a totally different experience. The bacon was COLD, and not crispy as described. The eggs were either undercooked or spoilt. Every time we popped our eggs open, they literally burst out with water. It was actually disgusting. We were hungry, so we ate. Both of us were extremely unwell very very quickly. I honestly would avoid.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. This was an unexpected visit but was pleasantly surprised. The iced drinks were amazing, very good value for money. Food was reasonably priced and tasty. Great service. Will definitely visit again to try their other dishes. Edit: Tried the Eggs benedict too. Environment was once again very friendly. It seemed like they had a lot of regulars too.

Star Bistro is a delightful café that welcomes the public from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. This charming spot is run by students who serve an array of delicious dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. With ample seating both indoors and outdoors, it’s perfect for enjoying a coffee or indulging in their scrumptious lunch options, including the must-try sourdough bread.
What a lovely treat to find the Star Bistro along the Cotswold Way for an afternoon pick me up. Very well presented cafe with friendly staff that ensured we had a good time. The hot chocolate and cake were delicious and certainly ensured we had sufficient sugar for the next 8km

Good place for lunch whilst walking the Cotswold Way and good to support this project. They were only serving the light bites menu rather than the full lunch menu which was a bit disappointing, and the coffee machine was broken. Good value for money.
Andy C — Google review
Didn’t want my review to negatively reflect the cafe as it’s a lovely concept and the food/ service was great. However I had a bad experience as a walker on the Cotswold Way. There is a sign on the trail pointing to the cafe/ welcoming walkers but every staff member either yelled at me or was quite stressed that I was on the campus. I completely understand the safety reasons behind this but they need to update their signage or close the cafe to walkers if that is now the rule.

The King Edward VII is a family-friendly establishment that offers a wide variety of real ales and traditional British dishes. They also host quiz nights for added entertainment. On weekends, they serve a delectable brunch from 10 am to 2 pm that is sure to impress. Located in Longlevens, The King Teddy is another local pub and restaurant known for its tasty food, including classic pub favorites. Visitors have praised the lively atmosphere and good service at both establishments.
Lovely bar & staff. Great atmosphere and the pork belly dinner was amazing. Delicious, hot and fresh felt like home cooked food as opposed to pub chain food. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his hunters schnitzel.
Buffy C — Google review
A moderate pub with locals at the heart of service. One of my personal pet hates in a pub is not being welcomed or seeing a friendly face. Here it was straight to what do you want....not too busy but if you have people waiting at the bar and the "manager" is sitting directly to the side on a high table facing the bar and doesn't help then you know they are not pub friendly. As a publican, everyone has a priority of welcoming and servicing customers as priority. The traditional pub has almost gone and replaced by staff that really dont see its true essence of historical theatrical pub values. Recommendation Too many pubs around so skip this one unless you just want......🤐🤐
Gary C — Google review
Nice enough. Beautifully organised. Old fashioned feel. We visited for lunch on a week day in term time so there were plenty of spare tables. The clientele was almost entirely elderly which I suspect is the target market. Hence the general decor looked like a 1970’s living room and there were no vegetarian items on the menu. Food was OK: portion sizes were good enough for the price and arrived hot (just). Unfortunately, the onion rings were undercooked and the chicken, rubbery mushroom and tomato were slightly all overcooked. However, the chips and fish were both excellent. So, all in all, variable quality. Drinks were priced reasonably. The Guinness was from a can as the pub was trialling the alcohol free version but the glass was chilled, as it should be. Service and staff were speedy and efficient. Very well laid out interior with clear signage. Definitely one of the cleanest, neatest and tidiest pubs in which I’ve ever eaten. Plenty of room between the inside tables allowed for a more relaxed eating experience. The outside seating is next to the main road and the ‘view’ is of the local housing but it was all clean and, again, well spaced. The car park is small and cramped and there’s limited parking in the local (suburban) area nearby. Either visit off peak / early or be prepared for few minutes walk from car to pub. I would visit again but go for the one of the fish options next time.

I cannot actually rate on food as I haven’t been served any food. Went in Teddy this lunch while on walk with my dogs, just to have some lunch and do some work. Sat down and I started to order online but because I am allergic I had to go to the bar. No acknowledgment just “wait a min”. Hello?? How are you? I asked to order some food, again wait a min and the girl ( supervisor) called someone else. Dark hair, lovely girl, polite asking me if I had any allergies and I said yes. Very annoyed from my answer the supervisor rolled her eyes, the dark hair girl couldn’t put my allergy order in. Talking to the other girl like was her fault and continuing doing faces, I thought wasn’t worth it for me to order anymore. When I said “is fine I’ll have just a coffee as definitely this is a problem” she said well I can actually put your allergy on. I didn’t wanted to be a burden to her and she made sure I was since the moment she saw me.I didn’t think that my fish allergy would be so problematic. Is the second time in two months that the same person is being rude and like is doing me a favour to give me a coffee that I have paid for. I cannot fault the other girls but I will not return. I have been polite enough and not creating any problems. Shame as is near where I live.

Excellent Place, we booked for breakfast but a visit for a midweek meal, or Sunday lunch will soon be on the cards. I had full English and my wife had scrambled eggs on toast. The best coffee we have had for ages. Great Service and set by a small brook. Lovely outside area too.

Some of the best food we have ever had! Highly recommend the chicken burger, hot dog, beef with red wine and mussels (seriously the best mussels I’ve ever had in my life!), thanks to Alexis, Tatiana and hardy for their first class service - they couldn’t do enough for us!

Great atmosphere and food. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Me and my son ordered the Sunday roast and the burger. Both were excellent. It is recommended to book a table as it's quite full. In our case we didn't and the team were kind enough to allow us to have our lunch at their lounge as the restaurant was fully booked.
Luis L — Google review
The fish and chips were unbelievable and reasonably priced for the size of the portion, which was LARGE! Our waiter was really funny and helpful and gave excellent recommendations. We were at The Pig the night before which was double the price and not as tasty in my opinion. The atmosphere in the Crown was a bit intense when we arrived as there was a wedding on and I had no idea where the actual restaurant was or who the front of house was, but once we got around that issue it was fine. Lastly, the sticky toffee pudding was probably up there with one of the best I've had. All in all, I would highly recommend this place. There's also a nice river you can walk to around the back.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Crown in Ampney! There were nine of us in total, including two children, and the whole afternoon was perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it was great to see how kid-friendly the place was without losing its charm for the adults. The food was exceptional – every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. You can really tell that a lot of care goes into both the ingredients and the cooking. A special shoutout to our waiter, Harvey, who was truly outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and made us all feel so well looked after — nothing was too much trouble. We couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. Highly recommend The Crown to anyone looking for amazing food, wonderful service, and a relaxed, family-friendly vibe. We’ll definitely be back!

Lovely food, staff, and drinks. The cacao was delicious. They have a wonderful range of gluten free and vegan options, and lots of food that tastes good and feels very wholesome/organic. They have a range of dairy free milks, such as almond milk, which I think tastes the best in coffees! The staff were all incredibly helpful & friendly on both the Saturday and the Sunday that I was in, even though it was a bank holiday and so they were absolutely rammed. Really commendable service

Yet another 'Oh my! They've hit the bar!' in terms of achieving a five star review. Sometimes I think I'm really mean but, having had a thunk, I realise that they've not quite reached the level of my all time favourite, Slō. It's still a bit of a mystery to me why baristas appear to be some of the nicest peeps on the planet. The staff at Woodruffs were great. Not only did they not spit on me but they welcomed me in and put up with my northern-ness. Nice coffee ☕️, nice swirly (thank you, young man. I got the impression you don't offer a swirly with every brew). I'm still too fat and not suffering hypoglycaemia enough to eat the cakes on offer, but they were very tempting! Need refreshments in Stroud. Get on down to Woodruffs!

This has always been a lovely cafe with great service and wholesome food, I was sadly disappointed by this visit! I ordered a cacao and lions mane hot chocolate which was served in the smallest flat white cup with a £5 price tag! my daughter had the same but iced which was in a tall glass when my husband complained to the guy his response was tough it’s an expensive product! Not great customer service..and also no explanation to the size difference. my husband had a warm milkshake not iced as described! And we had the worst 3 cheese and onion pasties I’ve tasted, I’ve been coming to this cafe for 25 years but sadly will never return…feel like it’s lost what it used to be..

Disappointed with visit today. On previous visits the service was excellent and the portions larg. Although it was busy today our food took over 35 minutes to arrive. In the end I had to chase It up. It was also a smaller portion than the other times we have been there. It consisted of one small portion of sourdough and although the spinach and mushrooms were plentiful there was only one very small cherry tomato.

The bar exudes an elegant yet playful atmosphere, with a moody basement, sleek ground floor space, and an attractive restaurant on the upper level. It's known for its friendly ambiance and amazing drink selection.
Had a lovely evening here with friends over a couple of bottles of wine, we had tried to meet around Christmas but life events got in the way. The team were so lovely, really friendly and accommodating. Had a Groupon deal for Sunday Lunch. We arrived at peek time and found service was very slow. We were there over 2 hours for 2 course lunch. Food was nice and value for money with Groupon deal. However, wouldn’t return without this deal, at no point did any staff check how our meal was. Found minor issues with food which should easily of been identified before leaving kitchen. For example Yorkshire Puds slightly burnt.

Classy place for a cocktail or to host your private party, based on minimum spend. With a club licence you'll not need to find somewhere else to go, kick out is at 3am. I was in tonight, DJ downstairs and the vibe was epic, great fun had by all.

Unsocial - not social! We popped in here for Sunday lunch, having read favourable reviews. It wasn't a problem that there was no space (apparently - but the place looked and sounded mostly empty) but the bar maid was just fantastically rude and unhelpful when imparting this information to us. If you're going to call your venue 'social', then it helps if your staff are actually friendly and polite! Obviously the irony is lost on The Clarence Social who appear to want to turn people away from a mostly empty establishment.

In the heart of Cirencester, along Black Jack Street, you'll find a charming shopping parade with local businesses like Keiths coffee shop and Octavias bookshop. Among these is Sam & Jak, a recently opened restaurant and wine bar named after its owners, Sam Edwards and Jak Doggett. The duo has already made a name for themselves in The Cotswolds with their establishment, The Upton Firehouse in Burford.

This individual restaurant is just by the crossroads in the centre of Cirencester. We popped in on a Tuesday lunchtime without booking and we were able to get a table upstairs. But if you are keen to go, I'd recommend booking. We'd passed this place many times before and read the menu in the window, and always thought it sounded interesting. Well we weren't disappointed! The menu is relatively small but with sufficient variations to appeal to most people. You could choose a variety of small plates or something more substantial. We started by sharing some queen olives and halloumi with sliced honey, both were brilliant. Our mains were smoked haddock risotto and mussels with beans and greens, again, superb. Wines were good and sensibly priced and service was excellent and very friendly. The vibe is somewhere between tapas bar and independent restaurant. Not cheap, but definitely worth it We thought it was lovely and will definitely return.

Absolutely the best vegetarian breakfast around. Service excellent. I'm fussy and don't like poached eggs but the friendly staff were happy to accommodate and served me perfect scrambled instead. Some discussion at the table about whether peas have a place on the breakfast plate but I personally love them and ate them for family members who were less convinced. Dog and child friendly. Quite loud when it's full but plenty of outside space if somewhere quieter is preferred. Will definitely be back 😁

The portions were big, the pork was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, and the cauliflower cheese was superb. Will definitely be back. The restaurant even sang happy birthday to my partner and offered a slice of cake! A very memorable lunch. Thank you to all who made our day so special x

Me and my husband were after a lunch we’d tried a few places but it being a Sunday we found it difficult to find somewhere without having a booking. We were lucky enough to stumble on this place, the staff were lovely and the roasts were great, generous portion sizes and a whole jug of gravy! The beef in particular was wonderful. We will definitely be back!

Terrible experience very impatient owner(Chris)we previously got a drink but met up with friends on entry we got stopped by people talking to us, a couple of us got drinks n was having a smoke before we could enter n get more drinks we was approached by drunk owner who told some of us to “piss off” even though we was silent and waiting for our friends to finish their cigarettes to go inside very rude. Terrible owner. Do better.

We thought we'd try somewhere different. It's not the most fancy cafe or in the best area, but you get what you pay for. We had a fry up, which was huge and tasty, apart from the sausages. They felt cheap.

Was staying nearby for the Cheltenham festival and needed a nice breakfast after a heavy night drinking and this place was recommended to us by a local and it was outstanding and cooked really well not rushed like most places the bacon was cooked perfectly and everything else was delicious on the full English I couldn't finish it and went back again the next day and was defeated again but really enjoyed it both times will hopefully visit again sometime. Lift not working and difficult to find. Main sign for the lift is on the inner wall of the small alleyway. Anyone who doesn't know where it is will have to check around the whole building just to find it. Once we found it, it wasn't working anyway. Makes it unattractive to check the restaurants upstairs.

Lynwood & Co Northleach is a charming café located in the heart of a small Cotswold village, offering a delightful selection of brunch options made from their own freshly baked bread. The interior is uniquely designed, creating an open and intimate atmosphere where customers can watch their coffee being prepared. Visitors rave about the delicious sourdough loaves and scones available for purchase, as well as the fantastic coffee and delectable Lamington doughnut.
Tremendous option for coffee right in the centre of a tiny Cotswold village. The building itself is beautiful, but what's extra special is that the interior is done in a welcoming and unusual way - walk in and it's an open room where the service area has no separation to the sitting/dining space. You drink, eat, and chat as the barista makes coffee right by you. This is probably a result of limited space but it leads to a uniquely open, casual, and intimate experience. It wouldn't work if the service staff weren't as quick, peppy, and inclusive as they are. Perfect location and excellent execution.

Ritual Coffee Roasters is a gem located in Cheltenham, where coffee lovers can indulge in expertly roasted brews made from certified organic beans sourced from smallholders in Colombia and a family-run estate in Mexico. The vintage Samiac drum roaster adds a unique touch to the experience, allowing visitors to savor freshly ground coffee right at the roastery on Lansdown Industrial Estate. Beyond just exceptional coffee, Ritual also boasts a delightful brunch menu featuring local ingredients like Cacklebean eggs and fresh mushrooms.
Such an incredible place. Great setting with lovely service and amazing food. The Turkish eggs were exceptional and the coffee out of the world. Had to bring some of the beans home. Not to be missed if you like coffee and are visiting Cheltenham 🫶🏼🙏🏻

Unique location to have a tasty coffee and delicious food 😋. Ritual Roasters is in a warehouse setting! Despite that industrial vibe, it is in fact very cosy! 4 stars only for a somewhat neglected outdoor seating area and shortage of ‘proper’ parking spaces. Otherwise, it’s a nice place to chill!

Flatwhite is excellent, made with freshly ground beans that taste amazing. The Guiness cake is so good and wonderfully moist. The environment is great too—welcoming, and lively, almost like a coworking space with friendly people working around. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

Dominic R — Google review
Stopped by Ritual Coffee in the Cheltenham Industrial Estate for a quick lunch, I wanted to go somewhere “nice” but “close”, and this fit the brief. We got the scrambled egg croissant and an oxtail sandwich, which were vastly different, unique and and delicious. We also got a side order of the mushrooms to share. I believe the menu changes regularly - but have heard it’s usually this good. We ordered a cappuccino and iced latte - the days are getting hotter, and it’s time to start moving to iced coffee drinks, but I still sometimes forget or decide to risk overheating myself for the comfort of a hot coffee. The vibe leverages the Industrial feel of the space, with a minimalist funky and cool feel. The food and coffee are quality, making it definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the Cheltenham area. On the day I was there it wasn’t packed and it was a nice place to chat and unwind.

Ritual is my favourite Coffee place in Cheltenham & is actually always a good reason for me to come to Cheltenham (as someone who lives outside of town). Their house roast is always great & guest roast is very distinctive from what most other roasters offer. It’s hard not to have two drinks. They also offer some great brunch options which tend to change every so often. I highly recommend their Turkish eggs.

This place is new, in this location. The more established version is in the Suffolks and is always busy busy. We ate a light lunch the type that's difficult to find in Cheltenham, clean and fresh. If you are on a diet or watching the calories, it's a yes. Also, if you fancy a custard doughnut or Portuguese custard tart on the way out, that's an option😄 Give it a go, it's really good.

Roots and Seeds is directly below Wholly Gelato, the place where it is alleged that Jimi Hendrix penned Voodoo Child. It's quite amazing that Roots and Seeds also has a claim to fame. When Doctor Foster went to Gloucester his first stop was to enter this café for refreshment. The latte he drank tasted a little bitter but his pallet quickly adjusted and he thoroughly enjoyed the beverage he was given. The sort of brew that stands out in a crowd, for all the right reasons. The smiley ☺️ person behind the counter proved not only to be friendly and welcoming but also showed her prowess in the art of swirly making. Doctor Foster was a happy chappy, he didn't eat but he did notice that there were a good selection of munchables on offer. He also noted that Roots and Seeds welcomed four-legged 🐕🌭🐩 friends as well. As the Doctor left he stepped in a puddle, unfortunately all road repair units were busy building the Golden Valley bypass and the puddle proved to be a lot deeper than first thought. The water went all the way up to Doctor Foster's middle. He was embarrassed and vowed never to go there again. His loss, 'cos Roots and Seeds is definitely worth visiting more than once.

Carvery
Breakfast restaurant
British restaurant
Toby Carvery Brockworth is a classic family-friendly restaurant known for its carvery-style roast meats, kids' menus, and traditional desserts. Despite being busy due to promotions, the service was excellent with a young and efficient team providing great customer service. Guests have praised specific staff members for going the extra mile to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant also offers private rooms for special events, accommodating large groups while providing great food and attentive service.
Came here with a kids eat gor £1 voucher from a Facebook advert. We booked a table for 7 pm. We sat in a booth close to the servery. Our timing seemed perfect because there wasn't a queue to collect our carvery. Kaya, our server, was friendly, polite, and very efficient. (Raffle ticket number 121). Adult carvery on a week day was £10.99 and in the end, we spent a total of £38. Drinks pushed the price up, and the cider was £4.50, which isn't bad, apple and orange juice were £3.25 and JTO was £3.50. But overall, spending less than £40 in this day and age for a family meal is a bargain.
Junkybabes — Google review
Do you know, I love to write good reviews. So, well done the young woman who was carving the meat: you smiled! Which puts you ahead of the other three staff members I saw. They looked as though they didn't want to be there. Perhaps they didn't? The dark-haired waitress lost interest in me when I wanted to eat in the bar area that wasn't oppressively warm. She referred me to the bar, where the barman was working hard serving pints. "Are you all right?" he said when it was my turn. I ordered and paid and he walked off, leaving finishing the pulling of my pint to guess who? The same waitress who had been so quick to pass me over to the barman! The food was OK but it wasn't service with a smile. I won't be rushing back.
Michael W — Google review
Good solid option for a Sunday roast. The food was tasty, especially the perfectly cooked roast beef and generous portions of vegetables. Service was friendly and quick even though it was busy, and the atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get. Only slight downside was that some of the sides weren’t as hot as expected, but overall a very enjoyable meal and worth coming back for.
Enoch O — Google review
We had a Toby Carvery today and the food was amazing! The beef was cooked to perfection, the cauliflower could’ve been cooked slightly more if I’m being picky, but overall an amazing dinner. Haven't been to a Toby in a long time but had a lovely meal late on a Sunday afternoon. Our server, Lily, was lovely and very attentive. Food was yummy. Toby Carvery Almondsbury is a timeless family-friendly restaurant that specializes in serving roast meats carvery-style, along with kids' menus and classic desserts. Awful experience here after a few years of not visiting. Cold meat and vegetables and terrible customer service. At first we were offered for our meals to be microwaved, which we politely declined as we didn't feel that we should have to do this after spending almost £16 per person on a meal. We were then approached by the manager who said they were unable to get us fresh hot meat, and offered for it to be warmed up again. As this was declined, we were offered for it to be a meat free carvery saving £2 per person. This is completely unacceptable. We were left to decide if we wanted to have a meat free carvery or free deserts. We were told we couldn't have fresh meat because they would have to use a new joint that they didn't want to do in case it didn't sell and would go to waste. The manager left to probe the meat temperatures. The manager then came over to our table with a plate of meat consisting of beef, gammon and pork. I have no idea why we were given pork because we had turkey, beef and gammon. We asked why not turkey and they said that it was being probed. My guess would be that the turkey was below temperature. The meat that we were given was clearly warmed up as it was absolutely steaming hot but cooled down extremely quickly. We were given a piece of pork that was solid and dried out. We left unhappy, having not eaten much, due to the undercooked and solid vegetables. The stuffing was also an awful stodgy mess that needed fresh bringing out. Overall, our visit was awful and we will definitely not be returning.

Came here a few days ago. Food great as always, but felt very rushed. Same member of staff came coming to our table asking if we needed anything. Started hovering over our table when we were close to finishing as if waiting until we were finished to take our plates. We were asked as soon as we finished our meal if we wanted a dessert or to pay the bill. I said we wanted to pay and she came back one minute later to take the payment. I like quick service but I prefer it to be on my terms, not the staff's. The restaurant wasn't even busy.

We chose to visit here , after a trip to IKEA. Plenty of parking, but you have to enter registration number at the bar, no problem. It was relatively quiet for 5 p.m, swiftly seated and served by Jackie, who was very pleasant and helpful. The roast was great, especially when you get 25% off the bill via the offer. Hoping to win a meal for four 😉

We came for breakfast which I'll say was fine, I've given 4 stars as there was nothing wrong with the food. I'd just say a little more variety would be nice as there was only fried eggs. Fried bread would've been nice and possibly some fruit (which if this was there I couldn't see it) My only major issue is the drinks not being included in the breakfast price. Most places doing a similar set up have a tea/coffee machine that can be used multiple times as well as fresh juice that you can have your fill of. Instead of having to pay for a pint of fresh juice on top of the breakfast.

Unfortunately I have to give 1 star. I came here with my parents for a birthday meal, we ordered 2 carveries and 1 vegetarian meal. We were told the vegetarian meal would be ready within 5-10 minutes, for 20 minutes to go by and it still not be ready and we weren’t told it would be delayed. We then refused the vegetarian meal, we had the carvery and it lacked meat, the vegetables had no flavour and were cold, we had 1 large plate which had barely any meat on it (maybe a standard plate size portion). We didn’t finish our food, we told the waitress our experience and when the manager came over she said she had checked the temperature of the food and it was all fine but our food was cold as soon as we sat down? The Yorkshire puddings were like cardboard - we were offered free puddings but declined. This is the 3rd time and final time we’ve had a bad experience with the food and/or service.
Beth — Google review
I honestly don’t know how this place is still open. The food was lukewarm at best, the vegetables looked like they’d been sitting out since yesterday. The Yorkshire pudding was like cardboard, and everything else was swimming in grease. The service was just as bad — staff looked completely uninterested, and when we asked a question about the menu we got a shrug. The whole place felt grubby, sticky tables and cutlery that didn’t look properly clean. The air conditioning didn’t work and had sweat dripping in my dinner with everyone fanning themselves with menus as fans as they can’t provide customers with one in the hottest place I’ve been all year. Honestly, if you’re thinking of eating here, save yourself the disappointment and go literally anywhere else.

Wow! This exceeded all expectations. We booked this for our son's 10th birthday lunch while on a long journey. The £5 value menu was utterly perfect for the birthday lunch at a very reasonable price. The staff made a fuss of the birthday boy and even wrote him a little card which meant a lot to him. Claire was an especially kind and helpful member of staff and really went above and beyond to make the birthday meal special. We will definitely be going back to more Brewers Fayre establishments as a result of this great experience. 😍

Awful. We booked a table for Sunday carvery. Went up to carvery and the food in display was awful. Potatoes were white and not at all roast potatoes. They had a while flake all over them like they had been left to dry in the sun. The mash potatoes looked like putty in a bowl. The meat beef was black and burnt with just ends left and what gammon there...was just string and shreds drying up. The carrots were white. The parsnips and the stuffing were dark brown and burnt. They wouldn't even be edible. The only nice thing about the place was the waitress that took us to he table. We ended up walking out. I wouldn't even serve my animals that food

If you can't cook a egg you shouldn't be a chef. My wife had a poached egg and it looked like it barely touched a poaching pan. Asked for a new one and it was basically the same. Feel sorry for whoever has to eats this person's food as clearly they cannot cook. Waitresses were lovely though

Me and my family went in and ordered quickly as we knew what we wanted, the mixed grill, we waited for around an hour for the food to arrive and it was awful. Burnt chips, uncooked peas, overcooked onion rings and the meat was the worst. I ordered rare and it was incinerated, the chicken was so dry I nearly choked on it, and the gammon was the most plain thing ever. The tables and chairs were filthy the staff were unprofessional and I couldn't even finish my meal it was so bad. Never going again.

Came in the other day and was very impressed. Food was great and warm, I ordered the smothered chicken and my partner ordered the steak and ale pie. Was served by Becky and Ky and they were great. Would recommend

Six of us came for Mother’s Day. We had a mums eat free voucher sent through to us so we knew it was going to be busy. We arrived early so our table wasn’t quite ready but the lady with red hair (sorry didn’t get name) quickly took us to a table what was ready. Becky took our order and made our drinks efficiently then the gentleman on the carvery was making us laugh and speaking with my son who has multiple disabilities. I always get anxious about planning for meals out because I don’t know how my son will react to the surroundings. The way we were looked after and treated by the staff was so lovely and refreshing when they were busy. We will definitely be coming more often :)

Jolly Nice Farmshop, Cafe & Drive Through is an award-winning rural food business that champions sustainable British food and drink. It features a farm shop, butchers, and cafe showcasing local farmers and top-notch producers. Visitors praise the excellent fresh produce and innovative use of yurts for additional spaces. The outdoor coffee stall with a heated yurt space provides a cozy setting. The drive-thru option adds to the convenience of this independent establishment.
The farm shop is amazing - full of fresh farm produce and a lot of other things as well ! The vegetables and fruits look so so fresh. Bought few stuffs for myself ! There’s 2 donkeys that you can see eating the grass Went to the cafe as well - nice interior and very spacious. But the food and drinks can be quite pricey. I enjoyed their hot chocolate nevertheless. My friend didn’t because it was too bitter. Initially went to the drive through but decided to eat in. Amazed that they have drive through !

Great experience here! All the staff were lovely and friendly in the Farm shop and Butchers. Lovely food section with plenty to choose from. There is also a lovely gift section where you can pick up cards and candles etc. We also visited The Hive, which is their cafe, which has a wide selection on their menu. We just went for coffee and cake. A beautiful setting for a chilled afternoon. There is indoor and outdoor seating as pictured. They also have a drive thru for the cafe, but we didn't use this. I would highly recommend this place, as all the staff are friendly wherever you are and there is a great selection for everyone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This farmshop is a bit out in the middle of nowhere. I went almost every other day because I was staying at the gliding club right across the street. First of all it is EXPENSIVE, but I enjoyed most of things I bought from there. Cafe part is better I definitely recommend granola from the menu, the best granola of my life. Also in the fridge part: Chicken Caesar salad and salmon sandwich were good, other sandwiches were bad. In the shop part: raspberries and blueberries were fresh and delicious, also butter garlic chicken 🤌. But all the frozen stuff and pizza are terrible. Pasta was bad too, I never disliked a pasta in my life before. Staff was kind and the place is cozy. Overall I kinda liked it and think, if you find the correct item you will enjoy it.

What a lovely place. The farm shop is glorious. Such wonderful gifts and interesting goods that you wouldn't find in the high street. Great place for Christmas shopping. Superbly presented fruit, veg, bakery and butchers with mouthwatering food for sale along with some unusual alcoholic offerings. The cafe and bar is splendid with a relaxed and casual atmosphere but all very well done, professional and well organised. Burgers were delicious too. Lovely for children and they welcome well behaved dogs (don't we all?). To wrap it all up, the staff were delightful, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend a visit. This place is amazing. We have visited several times this year and it never disappoints. All members of staff are so lovely and helpful, the food and drinks are delicious, and the setting is great too with a great view of the countryside. In warmer weather it’s nice to sit outside or in the little sheds. Today we came in for a farmhouse breakfast and also the poached eggs on toast with avocado which was fantastic as always. Can also highly recommend their cakes and the milkshakes too!

We have been on holiday in the local area and visited Merkins for coffee and a cake as recommended by our host. We liked it so much we came back for lunch another day and even stopped for breakfast on the way home! Merkins is delightful, the staff were super friendly and helpful, aways serving with a smile. The cafe decor is charming, we loved all the quirky details, it feels welcoming and comfortable. The views are amazing! And most importantly the food (and drinks!) is delicious! There was a good choice of gluten free food available. We would highly recommend a visit or three!

What a cute hidden gem. We stopped in on a recent trip from London to Bath and were obsessed. Such a cute farm cafe. We had the pancakes and Turkish eggs and everything was tasty. We also had a couple lattes that were excellent. We brought our dog Reggie with us and the whole team was very welcoming. There is also a large field out front where kids and dogs can play.

The location and facilities are fabulous. It is a super clever setup with a main building set up at three separate rooms, and a small table and 2 chairs set as the Naughty Corner. There is plenty of seating inside - dog friendly, yay - and outside seating including sheds, yes sheds to eat outside under cover from the elements. Menu accommodates all eating preferences, with brunch option and the staff are super lovely. A great atmosphere and wonderful place to try. They even have a little gift shop onside. Ps Wiltshire ham is gorgeous.

The team at Merkins were absolutely brilliant today. On easiest one of the most difficult days of the year, they maintained high quality professionalism and service throughout our stay. As it was Father's Day you can imagine how packed it was; but they were absolutely tremendous - Service with a continuous smile. There were moans and groans from attending families which I found absolutely hilarious considering the day and where else you could go. Breakfast was as per usual - 👌 Whilst of course the price maybe on the high side, it's always said "You pay for what you get". Quality Food Quality Service Quality surroundings and Location

We have visited this cafe many times in the past and always really enjoyed the experience, however it it has been several months since our last visit, only to find that things appear to have gone down hill. So what's changed ? Well for some unknown reason, several firm family favourites have been removed and the breakfast range streamlined. Gone are favourites like Eggs Benedict and avocado and eggs...why? Whilst the service remains friendly and welcoming, I am not sure whether the chef has changed, as even the food quality appears to have taken a dive (unless we just visited on an off day). In the absence of several favourites, I went for the bagel which was not toasted and soggy. We waited around half an hour for the food to come and only then was I advised that they had run out of avocado so they had added extra tomato relish to instead, resulting the only flavour being the relish. Our son went for the big breakfast and whilst it was huge, again the quality was not what it used to be, with nearly half the plate being undercooked chips. It was reasonably busy when we visited, but not once did anyone ask whether we were happy with the food. Overall not the quality and choice that it used to be. A real shame as we had always loved this place for our impromptu family gatherings.

Tucked away but not too far to be hard to find or get to from Bradford Upon Avon. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. Proper full English breakfast is fantastic and the coffee awesome. This is going ng to be a new favourite for a drive out. Only minor negative was the giant hole as you drive into the carpark, which isn't a problem if you drive an SUV.

The Masons Arms is a charming rustic pub located in the serene Cotswolds village of South Leigh. It offers a cozy atmosphere with outside seating, serving delicious dishes made from local produce. The pub also provides simple yet comfortable rooms with complimentary WiFi, making it an ideal spot for a countryside getaway. Visitors can enjoy the dog-friendly environment and outdoor space while savoring delectable meals prepared by friendly staff.
We had a fantastic three-night stay at Masons Arms! Our room was on the smaller side, but it was cozy and comfortable, making for a really pleasant stay. The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming, ensuring we felt right at home. The restaurant was a highlight—we had all our meals there, and everything was top-notch. The food was absolutely delicious, and we’d highly recommend dining here. The location is lovely too, set in a quiet, picturesque village in the heart of the Cotswolds, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The only small downsides were the kitchen fan, which sometimes sent cooking smells towards our windows, and a slightly sluggish faucet in the bathroom. But honestly, these were minor issues and didn’t take away from the overall experience. If you’re visiting the area, Masons Arms is definitely worth considering for both accommodation and dining!

On first appearance, a lovely pub with lots of charm. Unfortunately our visit wasn’t the greatest, we were ignored 3 times upon arrival by an older gentleman, with grey hair, who seemed to be the owner and left standing awkwardly in the middle of the bar. We were eventually seated by another member of the waitressing team, and after an unacceptably long time, a drinks and food order was taken. There was no crackling left, which was slightly disappointing as there was still pork on the menu. Food arrived quickly, and was hot and tasty. Although the portions of meat could be slightly larger, 2 medium slices per person seems a bit stingy. Gravy was excellent, although when we asked for more we had to empty the jug and return it to be refilled. Seems a bit strange, and seems we almost had to prove we were going to eat it all! The waitress did seem quite awkward about this though so presume the kitchen mandates it! Food was good, although we didn’t like the cauliflower cheese, could be personal preference but tasted like a strong, overpowering cheese had been used in the sauce. The reason for the low score is the poor service, only one waitress seemed to actually be trying, the tall, brunette. Everyone else either meandered around, or wasn’t there at all. We had no check back and a table arrived but the table they requested wasn’t ready, they had to hover awkwardly for 15 minutes or so next to us. Despite the previous table having been gone for some time. The bill arrived promptly, but having been walked past several times without any acknowledgment for payment, we eventually went to the bar and then we were instructed that we must move to the (portable) pay machine! Overall, good food, terrible service from most staff!

We popped in here for lunch on a Tuesday in November. We'd been meaning to go for quite a while but just hadn't got round to it. We hadn't booked but didn't have a problem getting a table. This is a lovely village pub, which hasn't long changed hands. Obviously we can't comment on what it was like, but we very much enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning. The menu wasn't huge (a good thing in my opinion) and definitely had something for everyone. Based on what we had, (a shared Aranchini starter, chilli and sausages and mash) the standard was very good indeed. Portion sizing was generous and the food itself was very tasty. I always worry about ordering Chilli in a pub. So often then can be quite bland. Not so here, it was absolutely delicious. We were so full desert didn't get a look in! Thank you to all the team who looked after us. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. So if you are looking for somewhere that does excellent quality pub food, look no further. Based on our experience, the new owners will do well.

What an amazing find! This hotel captures everything you hope for when visiting the Cotswolds. While the rooms are on the smaller side—as expected in a charming, older building—they're thoughtfully designed and very comfortable. The location is fairly central, making it a convenient base for exploring the area, and the Wi-Fi worked well throughout our stay. But the real standout here is the restaurant. The food is absolutely superb—think fine dining quality in a cozy, beautifully set space, and at a much more accessible price. While they do offer classic English pub-style options, the menu truly shines with elevated dishes you’d expect from a top-tier dining experience. Don’t miss it!

Kaplan's is a charming spot in Lydney that perfectly captures the essence of a leisurely Saturday. After an invigorating 6-mile stroll around Lydney Harbour, I found myself drawn to this delightful café while exploring the town center. The menu caught my eye, and I decided to indulge in their cottage pie with chips, which was not only delicious but also accompanied by fresh boiled vegetables like carrots, broccoli, and cabbage.
I've been here twice for Saturday breakfast and it's been wonderful both times. Great selection on the menu, very good value/portion sizes and quick/friendly service. It's a proper local cafe, and I will be returning to support. The huge breakfast was about £10 and a regular breakfast was about £7.95, with smaller options available. Lovely and clean toilet also. Would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who wants a good value breakfast. Despite some reviews slating the staff, on the several occasions we have visited, we have had no problems. They have always been great. Sometimes under pressure, but always friendly and helpful

Went for a treat after coming out of hospital, absolutely vile customer service from the manager the moment I walked in. She was very unhelpful and rude. The waiter, that wasn't assigned to my table was lovely. My waitress was rude, long wait for food, no apology given, but she apologised to some other tables. The fish and triple cooked chips were abominable, absolutely disgusting. Will not ever waste my money there again. Also a very hostile atmosphere.

1st visit for us, and we were a group of 7. The food came out a while after we ordered it. 5 of the meals were very good, but two of the steaks were overcooked, but they re done both meals. 5 puddings ordered, but 3 of them melted while we waited for them

10.99 unlimited breakfast is still deal anyday (and child eat free) where you really want to skip lunch and have cheat meal day... 11 The breakfast are filled very quickly and generously.. 111 The coffee was not the best you get but considering the price, every thing looks good... There are enough places to sit ..we went there on a Saturday at 10:15 am... It's always better to book the unlimited breakfast before hand...

If I could have given ZERO I would have if that was possible… Cold fries on all meals & black burnt chicken 🍗 The waitress said “ sorry about the cold fries “ Replacement fries were not forthcoming.. We were offered free desserts, but were too fed up with the terrible/ disgusting food . Absolutely the worst I have been offered!!

Nestled in the charming village of Parkend, the Parkend Village Shop, Post Office & Cafe is a delightful spot for both locals and visitors alike. This quaint establishment offers a warm atmosphere where you can enjoy a variety of delicious treats. Whether you're stopping by after exploring the scenic figure-of-eight walk around the area or simply looking for a cozy place to unwind, this cafe has something for everyone. With its inviting garden area, it's perfect for those traveling with pets.
Popped in on Easter Monday for breakfast before heading home.was able to seat our group of 10 and we were served in a timely manner. Food was fresh and hot. This is a small cafe so it may get busy in the summer with lots of cyclists and walkers. Staff were very friendly and good for a laugh.

Visited twice while on holiday. Small but welcoming cafe and dog friendly inside and out. Excellent breakfast (including sausage for my dog). Also took home a slice of chocolate orange cake which was beautiful. Adjoining shop stocks essentials as you would expect but also some local wares such as ciders and mead and some craft items.

First visit in a long time and was very impressed. Sat in garden area with our dog and the staff were very good to him. Had a toasted tea cake and it was beautifully cooked, I have lost count of the number of times in other cafes where this was not the case. Staff were friendly and attentive and prices were very competitive. My husband's egg and bacon bap was the best he had tasted. Coffee was excellent aswell. Will visit again very soon. A little gem in the a lovely village. Thank you

We are very very thankful to the kindest people in the cafe - We came to Parkend by Railway and were hoping to do hiking from there. But it was raining very badly and we decided to take a break here. We ordered tea and English breakfast and everything was absolutely reasonably priced and tasty. A simple cafe but cannot be more comfortable. We asked some questions and they gave us very helpful tips and support. Without them we would have been completely lost. I would imagine that they are amazing as a post office :) Thank you for your fullest kindness!

Vee's Kitchen is a fabulous eatery known for its high standards and simple home-cooked foods. It offers a brilliant all-day breakfast with top-notch sausages, making it a diamond in the dust and more than worth a visit. The staff are friendly and provide outstanding service, creating an inviting and welcoming atmosphere. This clean cafe is ideal for breakfast or lunch, especially if you're staying at local hotels.

Good old breakfast! Nice staff and atmosphere. Gave me and the missus a 4 seater even though it was busy! Only problem I had was the toast was a bit ‘undertoasted’ and wasn’t a huge fan of the sausages but that’s my opinion. Except for that, We had a very nice time.

I've had good and bad experiences. The last one put me off. The tray I got was soaking wet and had some brown goo on it which I only saw after I'd sat down. The glass they gave me for my tea was dirty, when I asked for another one it was also dirty, 3rd one was fine. It's a shame because Costa is usually a great brand but this specific branch has issues.

Mixed feelings about this Costa. It's not very big and during busy times the queue can be long and good seating can be limited. Staff are great and friendly. Coffee is always good. Would benefit from always having 3 staff on duty.

Esquires Coffee is a lovely place with good coffee and cakes, friendly staff, and outdoor seating. However, since management has changed, the inside seating can be sparse, which would be nice if the outside seating was heated.
Had a lovely, cheeky treat today! Great service and food was lovely. My only criticism was a few tables needed clearing but there was 2 pleasant girls on and so no staff to do it!

I wasn't expecting such a good flat white in Yate. Thanks to Ara for making it, she was fab. Seems like a popular spot with a wide spectrum of people: solo laptop workers, book readers, kids and parents, retirees, and other chatting pairs. A slightly odd building, trying to do interesting and quirky but in a narrow, new-build retail park shed. A good range of different seating options and loads of space on the terrace outside. Great coffee is what I came for and what I got, and the rest looks good too!
Ben C — Google review
Been using this coffee shop since it opened pre covid, as it accepts dogs inside, which is better than the main shopping area, when visiting Yate. Always have a number of water bowls for your dog to have their drink.
Roy C — Google review
This coffee shop may be on the small side, it doesn’t disappoint. Every time I come in I get the best service, with the best food & of course the best coffee! Their flat white is absolutely lovely 😊
Lynda W — Google review
Esquires is my favourite coffee shop in Yate. They do great gluten free options - Eggs benedict on GF bread, smashed avocados, gluten free biscuits etc. The staff are really knowledgeable on allergens and go above and beyond to accommodate them, especially the younger female member of staff (sorry I can’t remember your name) but you’re amazing. Me and my Mum always come to Esquires and will carry on doing so, thank you 🫶🏻
Jess B — Google review
I am a regular customer (on deliveroo) and have purchased from this cafe 36 times in total, whilst the food is lovely it is often wrong. At least 50% of the time I am sent the wrong sandwich or a cheaper alternative or there is a cake missing. If the items ordered are not in stock, the customer should be advised instead of substituted with cheaper alternatives and sometimes have entire items missing. I will not be a returning customer again, this is the last time. No apology or even additional item added to soften the blow. Such poor service. Avoid using on deliveroo or any food ordering app because you’re not guaranteed the right items (if all) show up. Poor service.
Arianna — Google review
Great coffee and choice of cakes. Amazing almond latte and relaxing atmosphere. Could do with more gluten free choices hence 4 stars.
Kala H — Google review
Visited today and the 2 staff were struggling to serve , clean and keep on top , so much so they resorted to takeaway cups for drinks so they didn't have to wash up. They Cherry mocha I received was warm with no cream or sprinkles and my husbands latte was also warm not hot it certainly did not look like the pictures displayed. With 2 sandwiches bought the whole total was £20 which I thought was not particularly good value , dissapointed all round 😒

Nestled in the heart of Seattle, Starbucks has become a beloved coffeehouse chain known for its signature roasts and light bites, making it a go-to spot for caffeine enthusiasts. During my recent visit to the Starbucks at Village Hotel Filton, I was treated to an exceptional flat white that showcased their rich espresso and velvety steamed milk. The warm welcome from Julia and Brooke added to the delightful experience as I sipped on my iced caramel latte made with almond milk.
As a coffee lover, I usually get my coffee from local coffee shops. But that's not possible at the gym I go to, so I decided to get coffee from the coffee shop there which is Starbucks. I've had flat whites, but the one I recently savored at the Starbucks within Village Hotel Filton truly stood out. The espresso was robust and rich, a deep, dark roast that provided a fantastic foundation. The milk, oh that velvety, perfectly steamed milk! It was seamlessly integrated with the espresso, creating a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. The barista clearly had a passion for their craft, and it showed in the meticulous attention to detail. The overall experience was delightful, a perfect choice to continue my day after swimming. If you're a coffee enthusiast staying at the hotel or simply in the area, I highly recommend treating yourself to this exceptional flat white.

The location and the interior is nice, quiet, and comfortable. Unfortunately the service and the drinks don't follow. I ordered a frappé and a cold coffee. The lid for the coffee wasn't good, didn't keep the coffee inside. The frappé was too smooth and kept moving around like a melted coffee. The cook was cooking hot food on a hot surface. They had a tong with yellow plastic sitting fully on the hot surface, melting the plastic right on top with the food... Highly recommend going elsewhere.

I stopped off here to have a bite to eat and catch up with my mam whilst I was in the city. Serve was ok, served quickly, food took a while to arrive. However when it did it looked amazing and was at a decent temperature. It tasted amazing. The shop was busy but the atmosphere was relaxed and chilled. There was clearly locals that were regulars and greeted warmly by the staff.

Stopped off in boswells for a quick drink with my daughter and grandad. 3 staff members were working and service was initially quite slow (to be served) however everyone working was busy making food/drinks and doing table service so it was understandable that it took a little longer than expected. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. I won't lie, it's pretty pricey, our 3 drinks - strawberry and banana smoothie, vanilla milkshake with cream! and a hot chocolate - cost approximately £14. The only slightly negative comment I'd have would be the smoothie was pretty bland tasting, but the others were lovely and well presented. We didn't eat but the food looked and smelt delicious! We visited around 11.30am and while there is limited inside seating, we found a table straight away and everything was clean and comfortable. There is extra seating outside for those warmer days. All in all a pleasant visit :)

The only reason to buy food in restaurants is to taste something you usually don't prep at home or enjoy a good value meal. Unfortunately this establishment doesn't offer either. Service is slow, management and staff often have poor attitudes during peak times. Eating areas are often left uncleared before new customers are seated. Clear indicator of poor organisation skill from your management team. Atmosphere?! It's as alive as an 80 year old Bingo game at a washed up community hall. Probably for the best I suppose given the food quality. I'm shocked how rapidly this place has declined in such little time. Used to enjoy your coffee, now I stay clear from a fear of food poisoning.
Mr X — Google review
I asked for salad on my (very pricey) baguette, the picture showing the sum total of salad I recieved xD I also asked for butter and sauce, which it had neither. When I politely explained this to the staff, I was given a sachet of butter and basically told to do it myself. So I had to sit down and get it out of the takeaway wrapping and do their job for them. Even without these issues I think this place is very overpriced, and fairly low quality

Popped in for a coffee before closing. We were made to feel very welcome. The coffee was good. Looking through the menu, I did wonder how they have so much variety available. But the muffins in the display were in a plastic multi pack of 3. So maybe the meal's aren't prepared there either. Parking available out front. Funny fish in the aquarium. “Meh”. Fast service, nice staff but please fix your burgers. Just look at the picture of the burger, no burger should be that dry. I’m not expecting much but when you’re competing with Mc Donald’s for the £7+ price range, at least try. I know Morrisons has good quality meat available. I ate some of my wife’s fish and cheap and it tasted rather tasty, albeit a tad bit greasy. You go here because kids eat free, there’s cheap options available and it’s convenient. All I’m asking is that the burgers change from ‘edible’ to ‘nice’.

Judging by the amount of telephone orders this cafe has it must be great. Popped in the Friday before Christmas which was possibly an error. The cafe was pretty empty and we easily found a table. Didn't even have a chance to look at the menu before a lady informed us that there would be a hours wait for hot food due to the number of phone orders. We left the table of workmen to it - they may have had an hour or 2 to spare but sadly we didn't.

The best cafe in Mitcheldean :-) Great selection of food, from fry-up to Christmas dinner and salads. Take away cheese and ham baguettes are excellent. The staff are very friendly.

Popped in for a coffee and a bacon sandwich with a couple of work colleagues mid week. Easy to park, friendly smiling staff, great coffee, bacon sandwich cooked as ordered and ready in minutes and some happy customers tucking into all sorts of lunches. Has all you can ask for in a budge cafe.

Nestled in the lively heart of Bristol, the Lodge at Bristol offers a refreshing blend of modern comfort and convenience. Just a short stroll from local attractions and only minutes away from Cribbs Causeway Road, this hotel features contemporary rooms designed for relaxation. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi throughout their stay and unwind in the all-day continental lounge café. The on-site restaurant serves delightful British cuisine, making it easy to savor local flavors without venturing far.
Had a lovely overnight stay. Had booked The Lodge but was put in the main Aztec hotel. The pool and spa were really nice and I had a good meal in the bar. Went surfing at The Wave nearby the next day to complete my little break!

The room:clean, cosy and relaxing The shower: powerful, simple and perfect The sleep: The best night in months The staff: The most friendliest, accommodating and hard working I have ever seen. This is the second time I have stayed here and, I'll admit, words cannot describe how absolutely perfect it is. Book direct though! I will definitely be a repeat guest ☺️

Good stay. This "hotel" is a little quirky. but overall good. If not obvious it's a building (converted office I think) opposite the main Aztec Hotel who operate this "lodge". As such checkin is done over the road, and for any evening food you'll need to go over the road as the "pub" nextdoor shuts at 7pm and doesn't really do food (I think they offer pizzas). The food at the Aztec is good, if not really "budget" like the lodge! This is a bit of a strange vibe, but works well and staff very helpful and willing to help out by printing a document I'd forgotten. The rooms at the lodge are actually pretty nice. Standard is high with comfy beds, nice bathroom etc. and good facilities (e.g. kettle/iron etc.) - very much above the 2* listed and above typical PI/Travelodge fare. Few quirks - lack of plugs near bed (why is this so typical!) and a couple of bits in the bathroom starting to show their age (not in any way unclean - just rusty screws here and there and a fussy flush). Breakfast is at the pub nextdoor. It's best described as a "cafe" in the mornings - and you get one coffee/tea of your choice (nice to have a proper barista cappucino), a pastry, a bacon/sausage bun and a choice of cereal/yogurts. It's perfectly decent for what you get - and actually I find it a pleasant change from a full English buffet. Very happy to stay here - and the price has often been good. It's funny as you feel like the hotel could, with not a huge amount of effort (checkin at the pub, longer food service etc.) get away with charging a bit more for this place...

Enjoyed my business stay. Very well looked after by Emily in the restaurant. Good, tasty meals.

We stayed here for three nights. The room was spotless and a good size, better than most. The shower room was clean. There was a hair dryer but it was not in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Good size car park. There was no restaurant, it was done at the pub next door (part of the same complex). This however, was a major dump. The staff looked dirty, the furniture was shabby and fraying around the edges. The food was poor quality. The toilets were disgusting, the floor looked like is was mopped with dirty water you could see where dirt had built up over the years. There were obvious successive picking sitting on the toilet picking their noses an flicking the results on the door. If you stay at the place you will need a better place to eat, it would not be hard to find cleaner

Really nice room and the adjacent hotel looks really nice if you want the spa treatment. I just needed the room.
Christian O — Google review
We booked a family room for 4 of us - 2 adults and 2 children age 14 and 7. When we got in our room we could not believe that our children were supposed to sleep together on what can only be described as a cheap camp bed with a very thin mattress. I was aware on booking that they would have to share a sofa bed but this was ridiculous. My 14 year old is 5ft 6. Her legs hung off the edge and there was definitely no room for two children to sleep in that. I went to reception to speak with someone who advised all family rooms are like this and there was nothing he could do. Another point to make about your “family room” is the frosted glass bathroom door which is pretty much see through. My 14 year old daughter felt particularly uncomfortable having to use the bathroom where everyone could see her. Not something you would expect from a family room. We had a terrible nights sleep and then had a 4 hour journey to Cornwall to make feeling tired and stressed out. We won’t be back
Lauren M — Google review
A large family room with big TV and good work area with good lighting. The large bathroom had a large shower which was spot on with temperature and pressure although the door leaked a tad on to the mat (but that's part of the purpose of the mat!). The Velux window gave light but no view and as it rained it was noisier than a normal window. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Outside the hotel front door is a dog wash area (or for kids if they're that dirty ;) ) I didn't try the Black Sheep next door so cannot comment. I checked in late, after 22:00 I think, so had to go to Aztec to get keys. I asked the price for a take out bottle of house bottle of wine at Aztec and it was £22.50 and didn't bother so had a bottle of coke for £2.90! It's a very convenient place for me to stay and will def stay here again. 2nd visit. Check in states on the confirmation email it is in Black Sheep pub from 3pm, but it's actually at the Aztec Hotel opposite. The car park there is £12 so walk over! Car parking at Lodge is £5 overnight and I thought it was free if you stay. The room I stayed in is lovely double with comfy chair and a nice shower.

Cafe
Cafe Vanille of Lydbrook, located at Parkend Post Office And Stores, is a charming spot that offers a delightful experience. The owners are incredibly helpful and accommodating, providing a takeaway afternoon tea for 12 people with an abundance of homemade food at great value. The cafe's location is lovely, close to the river in Lydbrook. They offer a changing menu with options for everyone, including dairy-free chocolate ice cream.
A wonderful cafe, We unexpectedly came across this cafe after leaving another as they didn't have De cafe coffee and glad we did, we hadn't seen it before, but it's been open since May. There's a great range of hot drinks , cakes, and meals available. They can cater to for dietary requirements also, cake slices are possibly a little small for the price (only my opinion), but considering they come beautifully presented, I think it's alright There's a number of local arts and crafts for sale across the two rooms, and toilets are available as well as a public toilet block next door. There's a small step up to the door and again immediately as you walk in, so, a very comfortable cafe and wonderful staff. We will return,

The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. We ordered a takeaway afternoon tea for 12 people on a Sunday which was delivered to our door (across from the cafe). It was probably the cheapest afternoon tea we ever have had but so so much food all home made. Absolutely amazing value absolutely delicious. They even lent us some cake stands as it was a birthday celebration. Lovely location as well. Even supplied a mini birthday cheesecake. lol

First time coming back here for a while because it was so bad before. They really have improved, still a little pricey but the food and service is great. Only thing I would really change is to have real coffee, not instant.
