One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Lovely staff, proper food, and an awesome atmosphere. They even have a little lift for food! If you come to Gloucester, this is definitely worth a visit.

We came here today for the first time for my partners 25th birthday and WOW it did not disappoint. The food was incredible and was more than what we expected. Nice little seating area with a really cool ceiling. Staff are lovely and helpful and also very welcoming. We will definitely be coming again as we were extremely impressed.

As a tourist visiting the area for the first time, my friend and I were told to come to this place for a drink and a good time. We were let through to buy drinks, came back outside, but when we needed to go back in to use the facilities, we were stopped by a bouncer and was told we were not allowed back through, whilst the whole time he was letting other people in! I was gob smacked and mortified!! I still don't know why? There was nowhere else to go to use the toilet. I'll be waiting for an apology and a refund on our drinks!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Who lets people in to take their money but not to use their facilities? Or is it just women?! Are we going back in time or is this place sexist? I thought we were getting to a safe place for women, but clearly not, when there's staff treating women with such disrespect.

Wrote a review a few weeks ago and saying how nice it was, But after being really let down on Thursday night, My steak which was supposed to be M/W done came out rare, It then took ages to get 2nd time, My partner finished his meal, When I got my steak again chips over cooked and steak was really chewy, Couldn't eat the meal, Not happy.. So friends booked in for a meal here and we got invited and again was awful, A free pudding was offered as not been able to eat meal a chocolate brownie was chosen, Well it was burnt and very bland, A member of staff tried it and also said it wasn't good so we left very disappointed, When owner was informed he said nothing just walked away and have now decided will only use for drinking from now on as the food is no good.. So having come back because family and friends book here each time its still been bad. Tonight 14/7/22 we decided to try again but this was the worst the steak was awful, even the staff said they keep getting complaints from others about the food, Apparently Ryan and Nathan don't like being chefs and seriously don't want to be there said the staff, I feel so disappointed as wanted to be perfect instead I had to buy a sandwich from tesco next door, I will never recommend this place, Only things good about it are the selection of drinks and the two lovely staff Kat and Angelo, Very upset with tonight.. They said they would get bar manager to ring me today 15/7/22 and he didn't so even more disappointed.. Thought not been for a while and try again but it was still just as bad on 19/11/22 portions are smaller and put prices up, so thought won't have steak again as they can't get it right so had chicken, Leek, Ham pie well the puff pastry just evaporated I had 4 tiny bits of chicken 1 cube of ham and a small bit of Leek oh and 8 chips, my partner fish and chips he said weren't that good. Its a shame as used to be an amazing place to eat.. We don't eat here still but do like to go for drink here. Staff are always welcoming and friendly and now they have opened the bar out its so much bigger and easier to get to the bar.. Talking to one of the staff last night 02/02/2023 they welcoming any new suggestions. Did notice that they have a specials board in the restaurant which did look nice. Still recommend just for pleasant warm pub.. So went in last night 14/02/2023 and booked in the restaurant having had bad meals before was a bit weary of eating, but booked in as partners parents like it there.. Service was really good and when we all received our meals they were hot and really lovely.. 2 had ham eggs and chips and both were satisfied, 1 had fish and chips and again was happy. Having had a nice meal last week decided we would go back this week so last night 23/02/2023 we discovered that they don't know the meaning of consistency the mash on top fish pie was anaemic and the veg was not cooked so raw it squeaked in my mouth, Gammon was pink and tough, the steak that was ordered M/W was M/R but more rare than medium.. Safe to say we have called time on eating there which is a shame as used to be so good for food.. Well no longer chicken, leek pie. The menu is very limited and not that appealing. Boards seem to stay the same. Become pricey. They do a deal coupon but really not worth it..

Lottie was amazing lovley and chatty .atmosphere Amazing not a bad thing to say about this place ,recommend the rump steak fair pricing and a decent glass for my wine hard to tell it was actually plastic when it came to watching the live music fabulous all round love love love ❤️

Friendly staff; big portions and lovely food (you do get a full sandwich!). Coffee is nice but could be hotter. Don't know why it's not busier, but definitely worth the visit! Gluten free and vegetarian options are available.

Had a couple of beers in the garden. Its a big garden and as it was a cloudy day, it wasn't too busy. Unlike a sunny weekend when its crazy busy. The service was poor as there was only one person behind the bar. They opened the converted horsebox bar, but for some weird reason beer is served in plastic glasses. Consequently everyone was going inside for drinks, which led to even worse service. The biggest letdown was the pizza. They have a great pizza oven in the garden, but the pizza was bland and tasteless. It looked and tasted like a frozen store bought one. I wouldn't bother going there again, as theres plenty of choice on the bath Rd.

Overall, the experience was okay, but there were a few letdowns. We ordered two steaks, both medium-rare, but they came out well-done, which was disappointing. The bread was also quite tough, though still edible. The phone/online menu didn’t match the physical one, so we had to order at the till. Also, drinks are cheaper with a meal, but £4.15 for just a lemonade is quite steep. That said, the service was fast and the atmosphere was decent. With a few improvements, it could be a much better experience.

I visited this pub recently with my friends .The food was excellent and beautifully presented. So pleased with the service . Very attentive, friendly and accommodating. The chef and the team made all of our experience an incredible one. Special kudos to the starters and the desserts. I would say the sticky toffee pudding here is a must try. The ambiance was perfect too. The menu is highly inclusive and great value for money. Overall I had a great dining experience and looking forward to my next meal here .

Lovely restaurant that my friends and I have been to on a couple of different occasions, however, not sure what was happening today! We had to ask someone not once but twice if they could take our order when other tables who came before us were being served straight away. When the food did arrive, one of my friends' meals "wasn't put on the order" so she had to wait an extra half an hour just for her meal... It was not a great experience, which was disappointing, but the food was lovely.

We only popped in for quick pint whilst my brother was down for the snooker, so I can't comment on the food. However, the pub was buzzing and full of life. There was plenty of space in the beer garden.

It's nice enough but nothing special. I met friends for Sunday night pub quiz recently, and we were subjected to a political rant from the quiz master. 'Eff him', 'eff them' etc. It was a Sunday night in Cheltenham, I don't want to hear that nonsense. He should have had enough respect for the customers to keep his opinions to himself. Very unprofessional. A good selection of beers and wines.

Visited this place on a Saturday lunchtime, quite busy but there was space for us. Bar staff were friendly and lunch menu was quite varied with both meat and non meat dishes, small to larger choices. Reasonable price and service wait time was acceptable. Meals were lovely and overall definitely worth a visit.

Great Indian food, best I’ve had in a very long time. I have no clue what to order at an Indian usually, we ordered a bunch of dishes and they were all amazing. The sauce pots are generous too! This is a relaxed pub, super nice vibe. Everyone will feel comfortable here

Fabulous evening. Warm welcome, magical lighting and food (curry) was excellent. Dog friendly too. Highly recommend.

I had dinner on the patio and got the lamb saag, garlic chili naan, and saffron kheer. The staff were really nice, and there was plenty of outdoor seating. The curry arrived quickly, and the lamb was well-cooked and tender. I was really hungry and it was nicely filling. The curry itself was a bit watery and could have used more flavor. The real let-down was the kheer - it seemed like it was just milk with some overcooked rice and saffron for color. It didn’t have any of the sweetness or spices or cashews or raisins I usually expect with kheer. If I hadn’t gotten the kheer this would be a 4-star review.

Walked in without reservation for my Sunday Roast and a nice staff was there friendly to took my order. This restaurant has a big openair terrace at the back and plenty of seats in and out just perfect! My roast beef was super big potion, 3 slices of thick beef! It was nice and really enjoy eating in this place.

Ok selection on tap. Don't take cash or Amex. Used to be best burgers in town, now all curry stuff. There's plenty of other pubs to choose from in Cheltenham, this is more like a restaurant now.

I come to Cheltenham fairly regularly now and seem to end up in here meeting friends every time. The service is always friendly (my dogs get a great welcome), beer selection is brilliant and the food is really good. Have had the early bird twice which is amazing value, and then tried some different things from the main menu this week. Loved the Kadai curry. Meat was tender and I stole some of the others on the table - also full of flavour and a nice level of spice. Great venue, quiz back in May was fun but hard. Look forward to my next visit.

A great meal and friendly service in this unassuming looking pub. Splendid selection of beers, but we opted for the fizz and fish special and were delighted with the quality and variety of the food, and the equally delicious dry sparkling rosé. Absolutely everything spot on, knowledgeable and friendly staff happy to answer our questions and made us feel welcome. Would return in a heartbeat. Thank you.

Isn’t it lovely when you stumble upon a place and the Chef can not only cook but cares about what he is sending over the pass. For us just a quick Friday lunch but wow it was excellent. A leek & Gruyere Quiche served hot with beautifully dressed salad - the dressing perfectly balanced served with an extra portion of hot crispy fries - just perfection. Well done Chef. Such a lovely independent restaurant/bar. The food is great as are the staff. When in Cheltenham I always have lunch there.

Went there for a friend's birthday. Every bar surface was crammed with dirty glasses. No one seemed to be doing any cleaning of them. Then a fight broke out and there seemed like no security to sort it out. It's never been an excellent place, but they need to get the basics sorted out. Plus side? Beers on pump!

We went when it was basically empty, music isnt obnoxiously loud so you can have a normal conversation. Little beer garden outside is a welcome addition.

Dropped in for luch at The Retreat, our first visit in 32 years! Delicious lunch, great service, welcoming and a magical bar. Quieter at lunchtime than the evening. Amazingly like it was so long ago but bigger. Fantastic.

Staff are brilliant polite and quickly. Drink prices are superb. Atmosphere is brilliant plenty of TV’s and sports showing a perfect traditional pub. Outside seating aswell

Cheap beer. Sky tv. Patrons do look like hardened drinkers..but all seemed friendly.

One star on food because I didn't have any. Service was what I would expect one bar staff gave exceptional service. Atmosphere was lively but I definitely got the impression it had some idiots in the place that night. Definitely will be going back again

What a great little find. In all the years I’ve lived in the county never even knew of this place. We stopped for a pint whilst waiting for a carol concert at the nearby stunning Gloucester Cathedral. We were served quickly and the beer was very tasty. This pub is a great reason for why people should start using pubs again like we used to. Buying alcohol from the supermarket isn’t really the same is it? Maybe pub chains need a bit of marketing to get out out again. Well done the Sword Inn, we shall definitely be back.

Cheap drinks nice staff

I went to my first ever gig at frog and fiddle last night for the we stand for trans gig and it did not disappoint! I also took my partner who is from Sweden here and he loved it! He also loved that he noticed one of his Finnish friends bands was on the wall and had performed there what a small world! The staff and atmosphere when you walked in was super friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced they also have mocktail options if you don’t drink alcohol. Toilets were super clean and loved the big mirror for pictures. The performances are held in the barn which is a separate part so if you want to take a break from the music and just chat with your friends you can sit outside or in the bar area. There are also outdoor heaters in the garden bit for evenings when it’s a bit chillier. You can also order tickets in advance on their website which are cheaper but also on the door aswell that will cost a bit more.They also have karaoke rooms which I hope to do one day! I had such a fantastic time last night that I’m looking forward coming here again after hearing so many good things about this place from my coworker and many people from Cheltenham! This place is such a great safe space for lgbt , alternative , punk , rock , emo etc community!

First time visiting... will defo return. We booked to see G2R, great atmosphere, staff were on it, even when the bar was rammed, they were still super happy and smashing through the orders. Unable to buy food there, but you can order outside and bring it in... bonus

I've been to a lot of small live music venues across the UK in the last few years (mainly for alternative, metal & hardcore gigs) and this is still my favourite one. The Frog is the centre of the alternative/rock/metal live music scene in Gloucestershire - I've discovered some brilliant bands, both local and from other cities, by attending gigs here. I highly recommend checking out a gig here or one of the free events (e.g. Frogfest, held every September) - their Instagram account is kept up to date and worth checking. Consistently friendly staff and security, and an overall welcoming and safe atmosphere. The ability to bring food in from outside is a plus (I recommend from nearby Porketta, Wakame or Meat the Greeks). Even when there's no events on, it's a great pub with lots of other things to keep you entertained (pool, darts, loads of TV screens showing sports, karaoke, cute dogs)

Went to see Drag Wars: Heat 1, best night I’ve had in a long time and not just because of the show, but the staff are very friendly and helpful, the music isn’t overwhelmingly loud (for me), and the soundproofing is relatively good for a pub with an events room. Teapot cocktails are lovely too!

Favourite pub in Cheltenham! I love their cocktails in a teapot and the staff are always welcoming. With darts, pool and karaoke, it's a great night out for a group, and they often host bands if you just want a drink and some music. Couldn't recommend them enough, looking forward to my next visit!

This place has it all, you can take your own food in, decent beer's and ales. Good size garden out the back and pool tables upstair. Its also a great venue for bands to play with a proper raised stage.

is a great little club, the DJ is really good but only when it’s the White bald guy. They often do a theme night, which are really cool! Staff and security are always doing their job well, very friendly. They will sort problems out instantly, and the security is very strict when getting in, so it’s safe. Drinks aren’t too expensive, but could be cheaper and unfortunately, they have started charging entry. Plenty of room, always a good atmosphere, you meet so many amazing people here! Most annoying thing that they have, and should get rid of, is the camera man who follows you around when you’re trying to have a good time and takes photos of you without your permission. I can’t stress how much I HATE this! it just ruins your night. Other than that, it’s a good night out.

Fever is the best club in Gloucester, love the two rooms and the smoking area bar. Alice was the best. Door staff were friendly from start to finish and made us feel so welcome. Will be back next week !

Shannon is a very experienced bar tender. She knows the range of drinks and offers well and promotes 'the best offer of the evening'. Would recommend the venue and visit again!

Bethan was great! My god, what a pro, very accommodating and had all the charm of Alan Carr and the London palladium, so sweet, so funny and generously confident! Service with a smile and then 100% she desires a raise and many more postulates in the future.

Have to say from the outside doesn't look much but inside it's good old fashioned and fun, Atmosphere is lovely and everyone is welcoming. Is a place of fun and giggles, did enjoy the night and good jukebox of music, Louis walking around taking black and white photos of which you can have. The pub is bottom of Northgate Street in Gloucester.. Since first writing this review have been in a couple of times and definitely not as friendly and welcoming as before. Seems very clicky. Opening times are a bit hit and miss. Toilets could do with a revamp. Hear being taken over and hopefully it will be a better person than the last one. Hopefully will be able to update review to a better one.

Visited Gloucester today to see the anti violence sculpture at the Cathedral and happened upon this little gem. Ollie and Tom are very welcoming and are bursting with passion and ideas for the future of the pub. Today was the first day they opened their doors after taking over and we cannot wait to return and experience the venue once they've settled. Good luck gents!

Jake is an absolute legend! That's all I can say. Went down to use the dart board and have a beer before dinner, ended up staying until close! There's nothing I can fault about the pub and the landlord! We felt welcome from the minute we walked through the doors! Theres nothing like a proper boozer, and The Imperial definitely ticked all of the boxes!

Bouncers are absolutely disgusting. Attacked 3 women for no reason. Threw this poor young women to the ground and kneeled on her head on the concrete while she is screaming in pain (when she was only trying to make sure her friend is okay) All because her friend slapped a man for harrassing her. This isn't the first I've witnessed an attack from the bouncers at butlers and I am so utterly disgusted that they are allowed to carry on like that.

Bouncers will trip up the stairs and blame the nearest person because they got a little bit embarrassed. Biggest bunch of egotistical power trippers going

Ordered a Madri and it tasted very watered down. No point in trying to tell them as they seem to already know what they're serving.

Was served by Ethan, he was very rude and scoffed at us when we were ordering. Made the order wrong and then shrugged and scoffed when we said it wasn’t correct. Wasn’t busy either so no need to be rude and stressy

it’s okay, it’s gotten a lot better in terms of security and music! Staff are always friendly and everybody inside usually brings a good atmosphere. It can get very crowded though, and there is often a lot of fights outside. free entry! cheap drinks! At least they don’t follow you around with cameras like fever does which is the most annoying thing that a club can do, It’s nice to go clubbing and live in the moment and not have your photo taken without your permission🙂 All and all, it’s a great night out!

I am all for reducing knife crime and can see the need for security measures such as metal detectors in a busy city centre bar. However, Butlers #Bar103 do not, as they claim, operate airport style security. My daughter got thrown out of this venue last Friday night because she didn't want to go through their metal detector due to the risk of damage to the internal part of her #cochlear #implant #processors. Having let her in initially, the bouncer then tracked her down inside, shouted at her and threw her out as his 30 second reading of some website apparently gave him more knowledge of her #cochlear #implants than her 18 years of living with them. All she was doing was following the expert advice the advice given to her to date from the implant centre not to go through metal detector. She has flown all over Europe and the Americas with no issue and has never been treated so appallingly! She offered a pat down search but was refused. No reason was given for throwing her out. Certainly not that she had a knife! Do they treat people with #pacemakers in the same way? This was clearly nothing more than a power trip for the security guard and #disability #discrimination. Their security guards need some urgent #disability/#deaf #awareness #training. #BBCAccessAll

I enjoyed the Butlers. I appreciated how staff was continually having the space clear of empty glasses. The music was ok. I will assess my review after I understand the DJs. I will spend a couple of nights before I make my final assessment bit so far. .. 3 stars... Mr DJ put the (right) music on!

Came here for my husband birthday. We were so surprise when they bought a free birthday dessert out, we didn’t told them it was my husband’s birthday, still surprised until now. Food was delicious, portion sizes are more like tapas, small plates to share. I do love the idea of that, I can try more different curries and dishes. My favourite was probably the mango curry and the roasted potatoes. If you order the ‘lion cup’ cocktail, you’ll get a ‘fire show’. It was so cool! Love the vibe of the place!! Was a bit sad that they ran out of calamari the day I visited, but I’ll take that as an excuse for me to definitely go back to try in the future.

3 of us came here for my friends birthday, having never been before and it exceeded our expectations. We loved the food, atmosphere, drinks... and I must say, the staff absolutely made it for us. We’ve been here twice in one week and can’t wait to come back again. The food is incredible with great flavor. Drinks are creative and delicious. Service is helpful and atmosphere is loud and fun, but still allows you to have a conversation. We did the Can’t Decide option the first time we came and were impressed by all of the dishes (hopper, hot battered cauli, kotthu, black pork, chicken curry, Sri-tato, and rotti). The second time we tried the fish curry and pineapple curry. Not a single bad dish!

Had a wonderful lunch today in this restaurant. Re-kindled memories of my previous Sri Lankan meals years back. I ordered the 15£ set lunch. The service was very friendly and warm. I loved the Seeni and Coconut Sambol, the chicken curry was spicy as informed . The string hoppers were decent but I have eaten better string hoppers in the past. I was given some pineapple curry to taste. It was nice. Sweet and mildly spicy.

What a fun place to eat I strongly recommend it to everybody that's in the area. The decor is Fun the service is spot on and the food is absolutely delicious. What year was into the place was their menu they have clever names for their drinks and that's why we went there

We used to enjoy coming here but the quiz is now boring & the food is awful. I had a chicken burger last night & it was pink. When I told the waitress she didn't seem to understand/care and shrugged her shoulders and walked away. We also ordered halloumi fries & for 5 of the thinnest things for £7.50. Awful & expensive for food worse than spoons

Had a buyagift voucher for a two course meal for two. When I arrived the server didn't show us right to the table so I had to go to the bar to ensure the voucher was ok to use. After about 15 minutes of waiting, we were told it was ok to use, but they didn't have the menu printed out that we could choose from. The waitress rattled off some dishes and we had to choose hastily. The food came out quickly, almost too quickly really, we were barely given time to digest anything and had eaten all 3 course (we added on a small plate between us to start) in 45 minutes. Felt like we were rushed out of there. The food itself was lovely and the atmosphere was great. More knowledge of the vouchers people are able to use and being prepared for them would have made our experience even more enjoyable.

We have recently moved to the area and Brewhouse has become our local now. The friendly atmosphere, great beer and lovely food makes for the perfect evening! It’s even better because it’s dog friendly and in our last visit, they ran out of dog biscuits so brought our puppies some freshly cooked chicken 😭 Jay is a credit to the team and looked after us and our visiting family this evening…who we love dearly but can be a lot! A big thank you to Brewhouse for making Cheltenham so welcoming to us and our family ❤️

It was a really lovely atmosphere. The food was really good and service was excellent. Sam made us all feel welcome and his top priority. It was my dad’s 60th and he made such a big effort for us all. When we had the birthday cake he cut it all and plated it for us. We’ve never experienced that in a restaurant before! Would definitely come again and recommend to others. Also they have great music playing to keep the atmosphere going.

Had a nice meal here. Portions quite small for the price but tasted nice enough. Blake, our server, was amazing. So friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us feel welcome and fully attended to at all times. Thank you Blake 😊. Disappointed at the sneaky added service charge on the bill - had I noticed it, I would've had it removed. I'll notice it next time 😂

Always a great atmos in BH Cheltenham. Halloween Quiz night made it more interesting, we didn't take part but it sounded fun. Thanks to Jason our server who made our evening very relaxed, super friendly and very quick to serve us.

staff very friendly and welcoming. it was a busy saturday lunchtime but easy to get served at the table or at the bar. went for the steak frites lunch deal which was flavourful and a good price. i wanted it medium but the waiter explained it was as it comes… but steak still had a nice pink hue 😝🥩 would happily come again for lunch with family and friends.

A fantastic experience all round. Very cool and tidy interior with a good vibe, friendly knowledgeable service and great beer + food. I had the Nebula NEIPA and a single cheeseburger and it was all fantastic, especially for the pricing. Even bought one of their 5L kegs to take back with me! Would definitely come again if I were local

Large U shaped room with wooden floors throughout. Usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Camra discount available. Wheelchair and dog friendly too. Nice clean and tidy place. Staff were friendly and polite. Overlooking the canal with a patio area at the front. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

I had the roast beef which was really nice, the only thing I would say it was not boiling hot on serving but that didn't take away how good it tasted. There was only one lady serving tables which meant we did have a little wait for food. Overall good and I would definitely go back.again.

Every time we come here it’s always amazing service from both front of house and kitchen. On both occasions Bernie serves us and she goes above and beyond to make sure we get our order right and offers us options when we are indecisive. Also, the chef Connor makes sure our food gets the little changes that we want and it’s always delicious. Thank you very much both of you for making us feel so welcome.

Really good experience. Staff couldn't do enough to help, and we went just to get a roast on a Sunday and so wasn't expecting too much, but the food was great, great value for what you got. My child ate for free as she was under 6, which was also plenty enough of a portion. Think it will be our default place to take out of town family when we just need somewhere decent and can sit and watch the water.

What a lovely friendly place. This is situated on Gloucester Quays overlooking the canal. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. Outside can relax and watch the water. They have music inside and outside but chilled level. Inside is really lovely decorated one table has a fire in the middle. The staff friendly and welcoming.. This place brews own beer which there is a variety of different ones. There is a variety of different drinks.. We had the roast dinner yesterday 09/07/2023 and have to say personally best roast for me in Gloucester.. They do different things on nights so if need more information worth contacting them.. Reasonably priced and worth the money. Definitely going again and would recommend..

Had a lovely meal at this restaurant, the ramen was a highlight! The broth was beautifully flavoursome and good sized portions at a reasonable price. Polite, friendly serving staff also. Only downside was your female bathrooms were very dirty as pictured, give them a deep clean please.

Managed to book a private room here for 7 people, ths was a wonderfull spaced and added greatly to our experiance. Food was amazing and there was so much choise. Will 100% be going back. It was a little costly, However you get what you pay for in life and its 100% true here. Overall a great resturant.

We had a lovely meal here for my birthday last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were in a quieter part of the restaurant which was actually really nice and the food was fab. They even bought me a slice of vegan cake with a sparkler in for my birthday. Plenty of choice for vegans both sushi and hot!

Lovely place, easy to locate and friendly staff. Has sitting space outside with blankets!!!! How cool is that!!! And so thoughtful. I’m someone who’d always skid outside cause of the cold but here they made sure we’re comfortable

Amazing atmosphere. Been there with my 2 daughters. I Have to be honest Im eastern European and can't use a sticks . I asked our server (can't remember his name but beer arrived straight away 😅 thank you ) for cutely and had it also straight away. I just wanna say don't be afraid (I was a bit) walking in to this restaurant as you are gonna be welcomed with open arms and one of their staff will offer you menu explanation if you not sure what to order . My daughters was over the moon (they can use a sticks 😅) food as I mentioned below was delicious and Green tea with Jasmine before , during and after is A MUST.

Had lunch here to try the Ramen. Was really surprise how great the food was. Dessert was also amazing, to the lady who served us and another lady named Glaiza kudos to your excellent customer service. Highly recommended!

We took our grandchildren for a celebration exam lunch. The service was appalling, it took nearly an hour between the first person being served and the last in a party of five. The food when it did arrive was delicious. At a cost of £50 per head we expected much better service.

It's a lovely place to be. I love the outside garden and the building itself. It wasn't our first visit here. The service is always great, nice and helpful staff. However this time I think I was a bit unlucky. My pizza dough was cooked weirdly, it was chewy and uncomfortable to eat, however the topping was delicious. Mine was the veggie pizza. Surprisingly my friends meat pizza was perfectly cooked. So maybe it was just an unlucky coincidence. I've never had that problem before. The salad was also lovely. There aren't a lot of vegan choices- salad and the risotto. But the atmosphere and experience was good.

Dropped into The Langton in Cheltenham for some rustic charm and a feed that felt a little posh but not afraid of a deep fryer. Atmosphere? Welcoming. Seating? Cozy enough to eavesdrop on the next table’s gossip without even trying. Loved it. Started with the calamari, which came with a side of nostalgia for the rubber erasers I used to chew on in school. Let’s just say it fought back, but in a spirited, character-building kind of way. The fish and chips? Spot on. Crispy, golden, and unapologetically British. I half expected the ghost of Winston Churchill to tip his hat at me. The steak sandwich was solid, tender, flavorful, and sandwiched between two slices of “yes, please.” If that sandwich had a dating profile, I’d swipe right. Overall, a lovely spot that’s great for a chill meal and a pint, just maybe ask if the calamari has been to yoga class lately before ordering. Would I go back? Absolutely. Next time I’ll bring my dentist for the calamari.

Great place to have lunch with family. There is always a parking space available, and with the good weather recently, we sat on the terrace instead of being inside. Noemi looked after us really well, so we definitely come back!!

I recently organised a family reunion for 20 people and from the initial booking to the actual day, everything ran extremely smoothly. It was a perfect venue, as there are ample spaces to chat and comfortable areas to have drinks. We pre-ordered our food and prior to the day, everything was acknowledged, We were given a private room which was absolutely perfect. The food was exceptional and the service was brilliant from start to finish. Special thanks to Aggi for the initial booking and follow up, all the kitchen staff and Victoria for being such a superstar on the day. We really appreciated all your hard work.

Very good Sunday roast. So much food and all very tasty. Will be going back again for food. Only 4 stars because the inside is looking a bit tied and worn out, also the staff's uniform looking the same. Needs a lick of paint and some new, smarter uniforms.

Had a delightful meal with great service. They were attentive but not in your face. Food came at a good time and the staff were lovely, so we’ve booked to come again. Wasn’t busy on a Saturday lunchtime which suited us. Lots of parking too, although could imagine it could get busy.

Located off London road, this is a really nice pub for its ambience and location, especially the outdoor area. The pub is also dog friendly so you can bring your dog indoors (the constraint being that you only get seated near the bar area). Sadly, this is where the food and drink didn't meet expectations. The rose and cucumber G&T was so bitter and was undrinkable. We asked for another drink which the person serving us was happy to replace but didn't take it off the bill. I had the Sunday trio roasts and it didn't taste good for what it was worth (£18). The dark forest bomb was good. Bottom line: good location with great ambience. Dog friendly too! Food isn't that great for the price but do try it for yourself and be the judge of this place.

Went on Easter Monday and it was so quiet. The French dip sandwich was a misleading as it came in a hotdog bun but was still very tasty and filling. Steak was juicy and flavoursome the salad was actually seasoned well too. The potatoes could have been crispier in my opinion.

Hubby and I didn't have a reservation for Sunday roast, we literally walked in. Staff were lovely. Roast Dinner was absolutely fabulous with plenty of vegetables, there was no issue with "extra gravy" on the side...I love gravy! Couldn't recommend The Tavern enough for a great roast dinner in Central Cheltenham. We literally rolled out!

Ordered the French Dip, but they should call it the French Dreamy Delicious. I ate it a week ago and I'm still thinking about it. 100% written by a human because no AI can truly appreciate how good this tastes and would write a positive review so poorly. Anyway the staff are great too.

Went for lunch today and had the most epic Caesar salad!! The virgin mojitio and Rosemary salt fries were also a hit. Will definitely be back.

We celebrated my daughter’s 30 th birthday last Saturday at The Tavern in Cheltenham. We had the room upstairs and it was wonderful. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble! The waitress serving us was cheerful, helpful and professional. Sam the manager is approachable, thoughtful and experienced.Everything went so well and the food was so delicious! Would highly recommend!

We have been to the Tavern about 4 or 5 times over the past 3 years. The food is very good and the service is always good. Today we went just for a drink and it's a very welcoming place. The staff are very chatty. Worth trying for anyone who hasn't been before I went at the weekend for lunch. We both has the steak tartare for starter. Then I had the massive rack of ribs for main and my girlfriend had the lamb shank. We finished it off with a slice of cheese cake between us. Very good service and the food was very nice. We also had a nice bottle of Malbec and they serve Deya there which is a great pint. Update. I've now been to the Tavern about 10 times and it's great. I love that they use local beers. They have recently changed their menu to have a large amount of small plates but still with the option for main meals. Great food and great atmosphere. We took our 8 month old baby with us recently and they were more than welcoming.

Really nice. Everything we were brought for our father's day brunch mid morning was good. Comfortable, spacious, great eggs royale, French toast, and nice cocktails. Very friendly and conscientious staff, good value. Family meals can be stressful with a toddler so always appreciate good staff.

Very disappointed with my experience at All Bar One after a while. I don’t think I need to give an explanation about the egg in egg florentine….this is not the way we do it. The Iced Matcha was not good at all either, I changed it for a smoothie (was nice). ZThe waitress & waiter were friendly….

We came for bottomless brunch, our waiter was called Kieron. He was brilliant and friendly. Drinks were great, lots of options. I had the chicken Milanese and it was so good, chicken was really crispy and light. I would recommend and we would come back again. Thanks for your great service Kieron!

Went for bottomless brunch with a large group. We were served by Stephen and he was amazing. I can’t believe we had so many people and none of us ever waited for drinks. I always make an effort to talk to the staff as they’re the pillar of the company with the service we receive. Stephen went out his way to make sure we were sorted. Great value in the bottomless brunch. The food was good but to be honest, we were here for the drinks. We would absolutely come back. I do believe that if it wasn’t for Stephen we wouldn’t have had as good a time. We would come back to All Bar One due to the service we received. Thank you so much.

Absolutely faultless experience - Stephen was an excellent server, brought our food and drink incredibly quickly, such a friendly and welcoming server. There were 16 of us in total and he took our orders without a fault, constantly checking up on us to make sure everything was perfect. 20/10 service, what a lovely day with a lovely server!

Stephen is the main man, he was so good. Service was on another level. He was polite friendly and went above and beyond. Everything he did was customer focused and really left a long lasting feeling. All bar ones bottomless brunch is good but was made better with him being there.

Visited here in half term. This was a return visit to a Yo! Restaurant after a poor experience elsewhere and had been gifted a £15 voucher in compensation. The Cheltenham experience once was so much better! The conveyor belt was working , giving us the full experience plus when I ordered from the menu it arrived quickly! We were regularly asked if we needed anything or needed to order anything from the menu. Food was delicious (to be fair sushi elsewhere had also been great) but the attentive staff and quick service definitely compensated for my previous experience so much so that we are keen to go again soon!!

Takeaway order on just eat, ordered shiitake teriyaki udon noodles, and they sent beef! The person it was for doesn't eat meat so this was not acceptable and can't even get replacement food sent so now having to give them something else, really poor experience (and it took over an hour).

it was my first time at a YO and the staff were so nice and explained how it worked and their pricing. (i ended up realising i don’t like sushi, their food is nice just not for me)

I went to Yoi Sushi in Cheltenham. The waitress was lovely and worked so hard, but she had an impossible job as the restaurant was almost entirely full, and she was the only person there to serve customers. It took us an hour and three quarters to eat a simple lunch as we had to wait so long for everything. We only got our drinks after we had almost finished eating everything. This situation was the fault of management, as they had only scheduled a single member of waiting staff. There were a lot of families there with children as many schools were already on half term, and management had clearly not taken this into account with their provision of staff. It was a real shame as the food when it finally came was good. As I wrote earlier, the single waitress on duty worked incredibly hard, but it needed at least another person to serve customers.

Lovely atmosphere which provided the perfect place to have a good family meal. Food was gorgeous and well-priced. We were waited on by a lovely lady called Laura who graciously gave us a discount for next time! Will be visiting again very soon.

Food was nice albeit as a tourist it was fairly overpriced for run of the mill sushi. I've found some of the M&S sushi to taste fresher and tastier. The restaurant and staff are quite nice and it's easy for a quick bite. The Poke bowls and noodles are good value comparative to the sushi.

Where to start. Firstly, great service on the night, however we were THE ONLY table, which of course has its effect on atmosphere :( We went for an experience menu and what an experience it was, amazing! Main course bit too large, and last drink was too heavy, we left the restaurant extremely full and didn't feel great, but everything was delicious. Beautiful interior.

Wow. At first I panicked. Decided last minute we wanted an Indian. Never been to Cheltenham before so used trusted Google. This was in the area we wished and had good reviews. Didn't look at menu and looked forward to our tikka masala or korma or Rogan josh. Not in this place. I thought I had made a major boo boo when I looked at the menu. Not what I expected. The place itself has an old British colonial feel. Dark and well decorated. Maybe a little too dark as we struggled to read the font on the menus without a little help from out phones. A very nice setting. Staff were so helpful, polite and welcoming. We were presented with some little nibbles and a drink as part of the experience. Very nice. We then looked at menu and had that Kevin Bridges moment....where's all the yella stuff. We panicked...this was either gonna be a nightmare or best meal ever. Luckily it was the latter. What a place. The staff were ever so helpful translating the menu style and recommending what to have. We went for the sharing platers rather than set menu. We had several small dishes brought out at different times to share. Wow, wow, wow. The food was amazing. Different to any Indian food I have experienced but wow. We had a selection of mains and sides but every single mouthful was mouthwatering. So flavourful and well presented. I must say it's probs one of the best meals I've ever had. Not a place you would go if you just wanted your British Indian takeaway style but if you want something different with more flavours in an amazing setting then try this place out. Would highly recommend.

What a fabulous restaurant. Beautiful, relaxed atmosphere and staff who cannot do enough for their guests. Each course looked pretty and tasted wonderful. Many dishes tasted unique and quite different to what we normally eat. This is not your average Indian and we highly recommend it.

Fabulous restaurant, we visited for a birthday celebration on Friday. The team were great explaining each course. We had the experience menu, everything was unique, unexpected and wonderful. We were both rather full come the main course. The atmosphere was superb too, lovely music selection and not busy so we could chat comfortably.

On this restaurant's website it states "Explore and indulge in the best of contemporary Indian cuisine". It delivers. We opted for the sharing plates. The food was unique and very tasty. Service was excellent. Friendly and helpful with our choices. A very enjoyable evening.

I have to say 100% this is the best pub in Gloucester. Ales,food, & value for money. The portions on the food are fantastic & prices are Really good. The range of real ales and the quality are second to none. We only came in here on our last day out of 3,kicking myself for not coming in sooner ( it was on my list). If you like real ales and good food this is the place to come to.

We are a family from Argentina, we came for dinner, the atmosphere is beautiful. We tried their three typical dishes: Trio of Gloucester Sausage, Ham, Egg & Chips, and Steak & Jail Ale Pie. All of them were amazing, with the sausage dish being the best. Customer service was excellent, very attentive, and it was great that the guy at the bar spoke Spanish. Highly recommended.

We only stopped for a drink and it was lovely, a beautiful old pub with a nice courtyard to sit out in. The entrance is down a small narrow passage way off the main street so could easily be missed if coming from that direction. Well worth visiting. Friendly staff also 👍

This is a lovely place, Staff friendly and helpful, Food is really nice, Atmosphere nice, seating indoors is nice and outdoors also in the court yard, This was first built in the 16th century making it one of the city's oldest ale-houses and was the city's last brew house in the 1950s, This is set in Gloucester just off a side street, It was re-built in the 19th century, So after a walk around Gloucester nice place to relax and enjoy a drink and food, Will be going back and definitely recommend. So now using this lovely place at least once a week it never fails on serving brilliant food, last week we had the steak offer for two people steak and a bottle of wine 🍷 for £30 the steaks were cooked to perfection. Last night jacket potato 🥔 was really good and my partner had cottage pie said was good also, the staff never fault on their service and being friendly and helpful and atmosphere remains lovely, no matter when go in always busy and tables reserved. 5 stars ✨ So 13/10/2022 got to say another lovely meal and brilliant service and warm welcome.. Pre-ordered food and have to say they were busy but got food out exactly as ordered and nice and hot and no one had to wait was brilliant service and food and no complaints.. We went in tonight 06/07/2023 and found that girl serving behind bar not as friendly and welcoming as the other staff. We went to sit outside but discovered nice little comfortable inside seating area with comfortable sofas and couple tables to eat at. Was really nice and relaxing this is situated out door and through courtyard. Went for Dinner here I'm disappointed that they only one option for fruity cider still and specials board same as few months ago. The staff are still friendly and welcoming and nice to see just as busy. I asked for soft peas and they came out like bullets, but rest of the meal was nice.. Not been here for a while and decided to eat. I found that it's not same standard. Also why is girl serving with hair not tied up. Don't seem as chatty and welcoming.

The two of us had an early dinner on a Friday night. Was very quiet in the restaurant area, the bar area was more busy. Our waitress Jess was good, highly attentive & looked after us well. We were provided with a jug of water & small plate of popcorn without asking, which on a hot day is a nice touch. From 4pm to 7pm weekdays there's an offer for any 2 x classic cocktails for £16.95, which is ok. Food came really quickly, we just ordered mains, for the price felt the portion sizes were small than I would of anticipated. Overall a nice place to eat would visit again

A place with a great atmosphere and service. Lots of vegetarian options to choose from. The food was yummy although when it was served fries didn't look amazing so I was nicely surprised with taste. The fries looked very dry however they were crunchy on the outside and really soft inside with yummy spices. Desserts were amazing. What could be better- the halloumi hanging kebab portion was quite small, our chilli oil had no chilli and the music was so loud that we had to shout to each other. Otherwise perfect.

We had lunch today at The Botanist. Grant provided a super friendly and informative service. When we arrived, he told us to bare with him as he was the only person working the restaurant but apart from having 10 tables to deal with, service was really quick. The “Forager” is the best vegan burger I’ve ever had. Please keep it on the menu!

The Botanist is an above average venue for your typical pub style food. It offers a decent range of burgers and plenty of vegetarian options which should mean there's choice for everyone. The atmosphere in here is very vibrant, helped by all the greenery which is spread out everywhere. On the night we went there was also a fantastic guitarist providing great entertainment. The food itself was nice, although with a little effort could have been even better. The chips for instance were as greasy as I have ever experienced, over the top grease and while my cauliflower burger was good, it was also a little firm. Still, the atmosphere made up for the small flaws, meaning we will likely eat here again in the future and try out some of the other dishes.

Bar staff are lovely. Drinks are nice. It is very loud in there with minimal people and you can't really hear each other across the table. Probably could do with some hanging baffles on the ceiling to reduce the acoustics. Would not recommend for someone with sensory issues as this bar will make you feel like you can hear every conversation in the place. Still a nice place to go.

Great pub AMAZING pool table a must try, great beer enjoyable atmosphere with plenty of seating and standing if its busy smoking area is pleasant with plenty of room. Lovely pub for a pint near the docks. RECOMMEND

Glad we found a traditional pub away from the overpriced chains on the harbour. Watched the Grand National and the 33/1 winner made my day. Staff were excellent.

Quite a nice looking bar inside. Staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. Usual tap beers but no real ales available. Nice tidy and clean. Beer garden at the rear of the premises. Pool table available in the bar. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

We felt we were warmly welcomed by the staff who were plight and helpful. They had a good list on the special board and an amazing every day menu. The Tall Ship was well decorated and clean. The food was all freshly prepared and was nicely presented. We only went as it was my birthday and we were visiting the area but we will definitely be back to try more amazing food

Lovely lunch here, only just reopening after Covid-19 and would definitely recommend. The staff were friendly, attentive, welcoming and very helpful. The food was absolutely lovely. Relaxed, unpretentious and unassuming. Decor a little dated, but if you choose restaurants for their food and you want a change from the usual mainstream chains give these guys a try. They're aiming to use seasonal produce which is a winner for me. I chose Whitebait starter and Scollops from their specials board.

UPDATE: new chef! Mr Yip has taken over the kitchen (Wed-Sat) and has brought in a delicious menu with his own signature of oriental deliciousness. Ramen and burger were excellent. We'll be back to try the rest. Under new management. Excellent food and service. Local talent entertained us, whilst we enjoyed a pub atmosphere.

New year … new start … The Sunday Roasts at the Ship are back and my goodness they are back with a bang!!! Dom’s re started the food at The Ship with spectacular style - already booked us all in for next Sunday! well seasoned, beautifully cooked meat, and the perfect Yorkshire pudding. Best roast in Gloucester by far!

A real melting pot of personalities, a very diverse crowd and colourful characters. Pints for under £2. We had breakfast here 2 mornings in a row and it perfectly satisfied our needs. It’s a great place to set up base camp before a long day at the racecourse. Cheap pints, cheap grub - what more can you want?

Not a bad pint for a spoonys. Typical spoonys thou, always attracts that certain customers. Im not complaining, it makes for a quiet pint if you want some peace and quiet to people watch

Remember that bag I carry around in case I've gotta go to Greggs? It comes in handy when I visit Wetherspoons. No one must see me entering or leaving. Thinking about it, I looked around and considered keeping the bag on for the duration of my visit. There's something very wrong when I go for breakfast, and the majority of peeps around me are quaffing a pint of lager. In mitigation for them, the food was okay, and I was impressed by "endless" refills of my decaffeinated latte. I'm gonna keep my bag handy in case I need another cheap (sorry, cost-effective) breakfast.

One of the better Wetherspoons located right in the centre of Cheltenham offers great service from very helpful, friendly and efficient staff. The food and service were great. Unfortunately, both the toilets smelled awful, and the disabled toilet floor was flooded and did not smell neutral. Maybe once in a while use of disinfectant might be an idea!

A bit rubbish. They got my order wrong even though I used the app. My bacon sarnie too 15 minutes to appear even though wait time was 7 minutes. Waitress delivered my order to wrong table and it had to be remade. Service was rubbish food average. One of the worst Spoons I have been in.

I know one needs to manage their expectations when going to Spoons, but there is something off about this one. I have never seen a restaurant/bar so short staffed so regularly. Everyone working behind the bar is clearly doing the best they can, but they don't have enough people so the queues can be massive and everyone on staff looks exhausted. Some new management may be in order?

But Jake arranged Rob let me in an Kieran gave me a guided tour, great ambassadors for Spoons My wings came out fast and were tasty my pints were served rather swiftly, I mentioned that the snooker championship was on tv so they turned it on for us, great team… The locals were very friendly also

Popped by for a quick drink on our dog walk. Dog friendly, both in and out. Order of a local pint, pint of soft drink and some pork scratchings was 11.85. The warm pork scratchings are weighed out on a Jewellers scales rather than by the cup, no prices on anything, and no drinks menu in sight. Tried to order food off of the only visible menu, the Mediterranean menu, which was on the wall, but sadly this is not available on Sundays. Please note that the bar and the restaurant operate separately. Nice shaded outdoor area. Slightly weird atmosphere inside.

We visited a couple of times, once for drinks and then food for an anniversary meal, we had our 2 granddaughters with us. This is a proper pub, with very friendly and attentive staff, especially Izzy who looked after us, great beer and an imaginative menu offering very good value. We will be back next year and hope it is the same! Fabulous pub

We stayed across the street, stopped in for dinner one night. This is definitely a local drinking pub. Food was ok. The staff was wonderful. Never seems busy at the restaurant, but always sold out. An interesting phenomenon. We were the only reservation this evening.

⸻ We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from the owners and bar staff, which made such a great first impression. The pub itself is so pleasant and inviting – it was my first visit since the refurbishment, and it looks amazing. After being shown to a spacious table that comfortably accommodated the pram, our drinks order was taken straight away. We were then given time to look through the menu, and when we were ready, our food order was taken. The service was efficient and friendly, and we didn’t have to wait long before our meals arrived. The food looked fantastic and tasted even better. The Peri Peri chicken burger was delicious, with a really juicy chicken breast, and the Parmesan and truffle fries were absolutely incredible – generous portions too! It was also nice to see that the pub serves proper coffee, so we enjoyed a couple of lattes after our meal. We couldn’t resist pudding, so we shared a lovely crumble and some brownies, both of which were spot on. Honestly, we couldn’t fault a thing – everything was excellent from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back, especially to try the Sunday roast, which the landlord tells us is highly recommended. A brilliant pub with great food and even better hospitality – highly recommended!

We actually visited at the end of last month for a meal with family but popped in again this evening for some drinks and were still just as pleased as the first time around. When we had a meal, we were served by Amy who was helpful and chatty with us which made the experience very pleasant. I had the falafel meal which can say was lovely flavours and the sticky toffee pudding dessert was a perfect finish too! The atmosphere this evening was lively as people were sitting inside due to the weather. The staff appeared to be very cheery and the restaurant busy. Would definitely recommend this pub to others and will be back in future.

Descent place with a patio area at the front of the premises. Usual tap beers and a few real ales available. Staff were friendly and polite. Descently decorated and the toilets were downstairs. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

I popped in on a Friday trying to kill time waiting for any appointment. I had passed many times and it was always busy. I figured, not my crowd. I regret not coming sooner. I brought my husband back 3 days later. The food is delicious, it is kid friendly, the service is outstanding and fast. Courtney was a gracious host! We cant wait to return for Sunday Roast.

Amazing pub right across from Montpellier Gardens. Attended the Jazz Festival over the weekend and to have this excellent & reasonably priced pub right on the doorstep was rather fortuitous! Very friendly and quick service from a team that was clearly very busy. Will definitely be returning!

We visited this establishment for Sunday Lunch. Unfortunately the roast beef was very dry and tough as it had been extremely over cooked. I had a pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord with my meal. This was tasty and in good condition but expensive at over £6 per pint.

I had a chicken supreme and it was not very good. It said it came with Broccoli, but it was not Broccoli... the chicken was tiny. I felt like I was eating a bowl of mashed potatoes. My partners burger was good, but he said he wouldn't order it again and gave it a 7/10. The service was great 👍. This is a local pub so a lot of people are regulars here. It's a nice vibe, though, very welcoming.

Six of us had an amazing Sunday lunch yesterday - food was outstanding (thank you to the new chef Tom Rains & his team) and we were wonderfully served by Grace & Abbey whom were so attentive & friendly. Great to have Richard back managing this beautiful pub. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch Roast, photos don’t do it justice. Half a roast chicken with the most tasty seasoned veg. Plenty of gravy as well as spare and sauces if you like. Was pleasantly surprised! Staff were nice too. (Veg is under chicken and extra green veg and gravy came on a plate to share)

Nice local pub with a good selection of beers. Even had a group of people do a play which lifted the atmosphere of the pub. Would definitely recommend

The ambience was good, and the young lady who served us was lovely. The pub was cold as was the steak sandwich, bearing in mind that we were at 3pm the only 2 people in there eating on a Saturday afternoon!! Goodness knows what it would it have been like if ir was busy!! When I complained the other young lady was not nice, it was if it was my fault. I did get a refund, but the attitude from the staff was totally unacceptable. Will not return to this establishment

We had Mussels Fries ,Lamb shoulder with asparagus and dauphinwise potatoes. All were excellent and coming from me that is high praise as usually I am disappointed with some or all of meals out. The beer was Trafic Lights from I believe a Manchester brewery. It was cloudy (intentionly) and was very acceptable. There were several other real ales on offer. I intend to go back to sample. The waitresses were quick , attentive and actually quite charming. Overall an excellent experience.

Unfortunately we had only one night here, such a lovely place to stay. The location was beautiful, the pub has lots of atmosphere and serve great local fresh food. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The accommodation was at a high standard, my only comment is the pull out bed that is a futon is too hard. I would definitely return. Thank you Dawn

Tucked away up a side street in this beautiful village, with a good sized car park, this dog friendly pub is a real gem. A small lunch menu but perfectly executed. We had the burger and triple cooked chips. The burger was the best burger I have had in a VERY long time. A home made beef burger, delicious crispy bacon, sharp cheddar cheese beautifully melted, crisp little gem lettuce and a super soft brioche bun, blend perfectly with every bite to create perfection. If you are looking for a mid-week or weekend lunch, ( not open Monday or Tuesday) I can't recommend this pub highly enough. It is not pretentious but a perfect example of an English country pub, with guest ciders. Small but perfectly formed with an outstanding chef who knows his stuff.

Chance drive out that The Black Horse would be open, as was on a Monday but a bank holiday🥳Haven't been there in years. Triples cooked chips. Lovely, lovely! Nice community feel about the place. Look forward to going again in the near future.

Haven’t been to the black horse for many years, beautiful little pub with plenty of character but what really sets it apart is the food ,I had the rump steak and cheese cake for dessert which makes it sound mundane,it was anything but mundane it was exceptional the food and presentation was more than five star, very much looking forward to going again. I attended a wedding here, and it was brilliant! The staff went above and beyond! Everything was sort, we had personal space to just be together. The food was absolutely amazing, if you haven’t been go, it’s in a beautiful spot and the clematis was stunning! So vibrant.

I absolutely love the BH. Always come here when I’m in the area. Perfect food always. Rave about it to my friends . Last time was Mar ‘25 - perfect food. This time I’ve been twice in first week of September, Weds & Sun. Wed I thought “this has changed…” everything was utterly encrusted and saturated in salt. It’s all you could taste. I had the burger. Huge salt crystals in the patty and in the burger fillings. And on the chips. The food was excellent but could not taste it for the salt. Quite unpleasant experience. On Sunday. Same thing. 3 starters and 3 mains. The whipped goats cheese starter was inedible. Everything else smothered in salt. The butter even we had to leave, as it was just pure salt. Shame as it was for my birthday. I’d raved about the BH to my friends from not around here, who had travelled from 4 hrs away for my birthday. I thought Wednesday was a one off. Poor chef must have heard somewhere that everything tastes good with plenty of salt. Not so, dear chef. Otherwise such good local produce. Such a waste of the wonderful raw ingredients. Was so different from last time in March that I asked if the chef was new. “Yes”. Was the answer. Same on Wednesday I was told. New chef. Makes sense now. Food was so good if you’d only hide the salt from the chef please. I’ll sadly give it a very wide birth for food now. Every good chef tastes their own food before sending out. Either this chef does not, or their taste buds have been totally killed off. So sad.

A magical experience! I have wanted to try Mowgli for a while now and I was not disappointed! The food was spectacular and really good value. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed and is perfect for family meals, dates or friends hanging out. It was such a lovely atmosphere! The staff were amazing and so attentive - I particularly noted how our table was wiped down before dessert which I loved. Couldn’t recommend highly enough and cannot wait to go back!!

Wow! I think this is the best Indian street food restaurant I've ever visited! I've walked past Mowgli street food so many times and each time I've been on a time restriction....but not today! So after a family day watching a movie in Cineworld (5*) we decided we're going to Mowgli's and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant is certainly eye catching day and especially at night , you'd be wondering if the food is as enchanting as the look and I'll get to to the food in a moment! The staff working today were nothing short of exceptional, the young lady who greeted us at the door made us feel at home straight away and was attentive and friendly. she saw we had a child and asked if we'd like a children's menu and of we had any allergies to make her aware of! That's a person who you'd want fronting your establishment. Straight away our son wanted to sit on the swing seats which she prepared spotlessly for us. Menu's in hand we got comfy! The waitress who took our order knew the items and we initially ordered mother butter chicken a bunny chow and a kids chicken and fries . The meals were delicious and I mean an explosion of flavour, the young lady who greeted us asked how we were and I complimented my meal to her as she said it was her favourite too and I can see why! I've eaten in many restaurants and I don't think I've had food that had such a complex mix of flavour that all came through with each bite We had another lady come over once we were finished and the meal was so nice that we decided to order the house street food sharer and so the next round of flavour explosions began. . did I over eat..... today I did and I didn't feel guilty, there were such a great selection of dishes all looking as good as they tasted . I opted out the ice cream but my family didn't and needless to say very happy and feeling some what full. The share platter is £25 per person and really could easily cater for two light eaters but well when it's this good sharing isn't always on the cards. Anyone who's ever wondered about going in , I'd say absolutely go in and enjoy , I don't think a single item on this menu will taste anything but delicious! I really was taken back as were my family who all loved eating here A great group of front of house staff , extremely talented chefs and a beautiful place to sit down and escape the outside world for a little food haven! Highly recommended!

Had a great family meal out, our girls loved sitting in the window swing seats. The staff were really attentive and helpful especially helping our kids in choosing food that was milder to suit their tastes. Quality & speed was on par and we’ll return again soon!

First time visiting the Sandford Park Alehouse for a roast dinner on 13th July with my daughter. Seriously did not disappoint. Ordered the rare roast beef, it was like two large steaks, vegetables were good. My daughter had the nut roast which she says is usually a hit and miss with restaurants but she said it was really good. Great staff. Would recommend 10/10

Impressive beer selection, 10 or so cask lines and another 10 or so keg lines and a decent variety of cans and bottles. The venue has a Belgian theme with a number of their keg beers and bottled Belgians also with their accompanying glasses. Nicely styled venue with beer memorabilia on the walls. They also do food and we had the pigs in blankets and calamari, both of which were very good. Service was prompt and friendly despite being very busy.

Great pub with absolutely really good food. The service was excellent! We had the Stake Ale Pie, Halloumi Red Pepper and Avocado Slalad, and the Sriracha and Jalapeños Dirty Fries. The ales they have are great too, so is the cider!

My first venture out into the new normal. The pub are really taking customer safety very seriously whilst still offering an enjoyable pub going experience. Still the same great range of cask, keg and bottled beers and had an enjoyable Sunday lunch too. Best to book ahead during current restricted conditions.

What a great find. Really cool atmosphere and the food was really amazing. A little pricey but so tasty. I had the Big V vegetarian burger and the insanely delicious Truffle Parmesan Chips. Not a lot of zero alcohol options and the beer menu above the bar needed updating because my colleague’s first choice options were no longer available. Would definitely come here again though.

I like my soft drinks plain and always ask for such, and didn’t realise this would be a problem for the staff here. I don’t mean the server who poured the drink in the first place, it seemed like they were still new and probably did the ‘perfect serve’ on autopilot. It happens. It would have been great if they hadn’t had the ‘some customers are fussy’ conversation while I was in hearing distance, however. Some of what was said didn’t make me feel at all welcome. Would have been 1 star but they did correct the drink quickly.

Darwin the 5 month old Vizsla absolutely loved his second trip to Bottle of Sauce this evening. So many people giving him fuss, including all the lovely staff (apart from one, who thought he should leave! 😞🤷🏻‍♂️). Looking forward to going back again soon.

A wonderful evening with pizza, a proper DJ, efficient and immensely friendly staff. Lots to drink and zero hostility. A mixed flow access to indoor and outdoor spaces. I was attending a wedding celebration and I have to say, it was excellent. More to explore. An excellent venue.

This was a fantastic pub for drinking, where me and my friend were even welcomed at the get go by the bouncers! The counter is well-presented, design creates a welcoming atmosphere and so does the DJ playing a variety of music live. A great thing was they have the rarity of Strawberry Cider, also the seating is comfortable here!

I really like this pub for the vibe and the drinks. The staff are always really attentive and serve with a smile. The vegan options aren't great. They used to do an awesome vegan mac and cheese but they've stopped that and all of the vegan option are deep fried which is sad :(

I recently visited Tailors Eating House, a pub located in Cheltenham, United Kingdom, with some friends after a day of activities. Our overall experience was quite pleasant. A really enjoyable Sunday roast. Decent value for money as the meat was excellent but could have done with more veg between 4 of us. Be warned, if you are looking for a restaurant setting this is not it. Sport shown on all the screens and there are plenty of regulars stood drinking so expect some noise. The pub however is really nice and a great selection of ales.

Lovely eatery/pub nestled in the town centre. Stuff were great and the food was good value but one issue was the gammon could have been cooked a little more, unfortunately nobody came to ask if everything was ok. That side I'd go back again.

I've always liked coming here for drinks. First time eating here, great choice of roast meats. Service was so friendly from all of the staff.! Table service which I wasn't expecting. Food was great with top quality presentation. Banoffe pie was homemade and delicious. Definitely recommend and will be returning.!

Nice pub with a good atmosphere. Had a disappointing 'ghost roast' which not only lacked any central feature (the clue's in the name) but if I was going to brutally honest also included rather cold congealed gravy, some uncrispy parsnips and slightly strange cauliflower cheese.. I feel ungrateful writing this as we were treated to lunch by some friends who had eaten here before but as a vegetarian, I couldn't recommend the roast option or the crumble, which was bland (lacking in any of the promised berries) and had far too much crumble. A smaller tastier crumble would have been better.

Dear manager or owner...please help the good people who work there to be happier when in your service. You have a really nice place...serve your people and your customer with grace and thanks... Alot of the time...I don't feel this from your people...look after them.. Your business is marked differently from everything else at the top of the high street...keep going and remember people..and in this. Expect them to serve well. Great real ales and craft beers with also lots of good wines and gin selection. Fab live music at weekends. Food is good and lovely staff. We love the little outside court area right next to the park and nice place to stop if dog walking for quick pint.

New management. Breath of fresh air. Ales dont taste like utter sewage water, you can tell they are cleaned correctly, New menu, pizza was delicious, pepperoni with hot honey, garlic bread with cheese was good aswell. All round a better venue with the new team. They care.

We've just had our wedding reception at the Bayshill. We had booked the venue with the previous landlords so we were worried that the new owners wouldn't be able to deliver what we had been originally promised. We shouldn't have worried. The whole team went above and beyond to make this day a very special occasion indeed. The decoration, the super professional and friendly staff, the food, the atmosphere... Everything was perfect and better than what we had imagined and anticipated. A massive thank you to all, and in particular Emily, Richard and Jade who, from the very start, made everything easy for us at what could have been a stressful time. We are very grateful for the wonderful memories. We couldn't recommend the "new" Bayshill highly enough. JUST GO THERE! :)

Very disappointed Sunday carvery eaten here yesterday , only high point was the chef on the carvery as he was lovely and polite. The food was bland. apparently, not longed changed hands , maybe just early teething issues

Excellent breakfast! Cater well for veggies and Gluten Free. Really friendly staff, great atmosphere and if you have kids it seems like a great place to bring them with games and room to move around. Will definitely be coming back

Fantastic pub. Stumbled upon it with the link to the carpark walking into the most hospitable beer garden. Welcomed in with friendly hosts, and enjoyed a quick half and a little chatter. excellent beer garden. Great ales, drinks. Great first experience into a great birthday evening in Cheltenham. A definite first stop next time we are back!

We stopped by The Alchemist in Cheltenham for pre-dinner drinks, and it seems to live up to what it claims to be. They promise an experience, with a little theatre and a little magic, and that’s what you get. From the moment you walk in, there’s a sense you’re in for something different. We ordered a range of drinks, some in metal oyster shells, one with smoke and bubbles and one that changed colours as you added the liquids yourself. But it’s not just gimmicks, every cocktail we tried was genuinely delicious, well-balanced, and while some the drink prices are expensive, it is hard to know what you’re comparing the price to, both with respects to the ingredients and the spectacle. For anyone who hasn’t been, it’s worth a visit for a special occasion or an evening out with a special person. If you’re not sure what you and your date will talk about, the novelty factor of your first order will get the conversation started. If you’re less worried about that and just want to try something different, The Alchemist will definitely fit the bill. If you’re in Cheltenham and haven’t been yet, I’d encourage you to find a reason to swing by. Get a cocktail, enjoy the show, and start your night off with something special. I’m glad we did.

Had an amazing experience! Me and some friends went for some drinks and despite not knowing what we wanted to drink, Jessie the bartender, helped us find a lovely bottle of wine! I had a lovely chat with Jessie about a very old and rare cognac that I spotted on the shelf! I was impressed to realise she had such expert product knowledge about the Remy Martin Louis XIII and will definitely be back to try their bottle on a special occasion!

Would you pay £11.50 for this tiny cocktail???? After sitting at a table for 30 minutes without seeing anyone with whom to place an order, let alone clear away the previous people's glasses, I eventually went to the bar to order. There was a lot of drink in the shaker when my cocktail was being made, but a tiny amount was poured over a full glass of ice - not even to the top - and handed to me! I asked where the rest of the drink was, but was ignored. I definitely wouldn't go there again.

The theatre of the experience was super and made magical by our server Charlotte. She gave us great service and was friendly while giving us our space to enjoy our celebration. The food was lovely and the options for vegan desserts being more than just sorbet was a real treat. Drinks tasted really good and was nice to have a theatrical non alcoholic option.

Came for an evening meal and a few cocktails for a birthday , from start to finish the service was great, food was amazing and the dazzling cocktails not only looked brilliant but tasted it too . Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a meal with a lovely atmosphere. I had the steak dipping sandwhich and was thoroughly enjoyable . Will definitely be returning soon !

Came here for my birthday, absolutely fantastic service, quick and efficient yet not rushed and still welcoming. The cocktails are made to perfection and yet still not too pricey. Play good music and not too loud.

Such a lovely lunch experience here last Friday, really accommodating and accessible for disability. I reserved a table mentioning my sisters disability and there wasn’t any awkwardness that we normally encounter. Really great service, and it is an ideal spot for disabled access. The staff are so friendly, the drinks were fun and added to the experience ✨

Small bar in a narrow side alley. Few tap beers and real ales available. Not much seating available. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. TV on the wall and music being piped through which was pleasant. Upstairs was a games room with arcade games, board games and pool. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

Great small pub. Enjoyed some good conversation. They were planning on hosting an album night (spin some LP’s). Wish we could have gone. Stop by there if you get a chance.

The pricing seems very arbitrary. I bought two rounds of two drinks consecutively when having a pint with my son after collecting him from university. The second round, with exactly the same drinks, was a few more pounds than the first. I thought I must have imagined it until getting home and checking my online transactions for the day.

Very empty pub now ….. no friendly security there either anymore. New owners were not pleasant at all. Don’t be fooled !

I dont usually come in here but by chance I noticed it was the same menu as another pub i had visited recently which had amazing chicken wings on offer. I am fussy about wings and these guys cook them exactly how I like them. Loads of drink on offer and plenty of screens for the football bar staff seemed friendly and the service was nice and quick. Will definitely be back for more wings! Came back for more wings and just as good! 12/10/22

Delicious food!! Great menu with a wide variety. A build your own menu for kids and a great platter option for adults. Also have specials on certain days. Had the English breakfast :-)

Very popular local pub, no fruit machines, no sports TV, traditional beers, real ales, affiliated to Wye Valley brewery, but plenty of guest beers as well. Annual beer festivals with 70 beers available. Also plenty of cider. Log fire in Winter, beer garden in summer, winner of many Camera awards! Great beer, great regulars. Come and be one!

Absolutely fabulous pub. Not my first time in here and won't be the last. Brilliant range of well kept cask beer and a fantastic atmosphere both pre and post rugby. Some great clientele who were well up for good conversations. Wye Valley beers were all superb; HPA, Butty Bach and Wholesome Stout.

Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Great selection of real ales available. Small room as you walk in, but another room to the right. Wooden floors throughout. Wheelchair friendly. Photos covering the walls. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

Honestly one of the very best pubs that I've visited. Had no idea that Wye Valley offered such a range of ales. A welcoming fire, good bar staff and super beer. So good that we went back again. Would give it SIX stars if I could. Multi award winner and very easy to see why

We been going here every so often because they done a nice fruity cider and stout but they have now changed that cider to one that isn't my taste. We popped in last night 02/02/2023 but didn't stay as it still didn't have cider I liked but main reason because the bar has now got bright lights which has ruined the old style of pub main bar. Having spoken to others after they said the same that not as good. But everyone personal opinion is different.. As I said personal opinion is different.. We do like this pub find it relaxing and just the good old fashioned pub.. Having had a reply back from owner its nice to hear that be able to drink the lovely Raspberry Ripple again and the Lighting is back to being comfortable so can put back to 4* 👍

In my opinion, the Jolly Brew is the best pub in Cheltenham. Excellent, great value beer, great, comfortable atmosphere and a beautiful beer garden. Grant the owner keeps an excellent sellar, with a great selection of ales and ciders, and most I've tried are under £5, which is amazing in Cheltenham's rip off pub scene. Keep up the great work JB team 👍🏼

Cheap drink & nice garden, bartenders are friendly enough when they finally serve you. Obviously if it was packed a delay would be expected however it does feel like you've interrupted their conversation at the end of the bar and they are doing you a favour, There is also a very clear problem with customers and some staff who are going back and forth to the toilet.Then sniffing every two minutes. Whilst this is common for most places turning a blind eye is almost allowing it.

Fantastic all round Pub, Staff are friendly the entertainment is great and would recommend to anybody who visits Gloucester me and my boyfriend will definitely be visiting again when in Gloucester

Good atmosphere, The DJ on Friday was brilliant going though the decades 60's to the 80's... To the bar staff, even tho there were two of you... You did your best. And the customers help too by bringing the glasses to the washer bay. Please make sure the disabled toilet is cleaned more often.

Charged my son for 4 drinks when he only ordered 2. When he remonstrated with the bar person she said it was his fault for talking at the bar?

Very quaint bar, nothing special but enjoyable. Staff were friendly and polite. Few tap beers and real ales available at great prices. Benches for seating with wooden and metal trunks for tables, amazing idea. Walls covered with beer logo labels. Wheelchair friendly but tight as it's a small bar. Down to earth sort of place Beer was good. Very nice visit.

Characterful mini boozer with very well priced ales on tap. Every square inch covered in pub-related memorabilia. Recommended.

Quirky place with lots to see. Small range of beers and some lovely ciders too. Dogs welcome, which is always nice and even some treats available. Seating not very comfortable and fairly limited, but the small size of the place is one of the redeeming features.

My boyfriend took me to this pub yesterday as he'd been thr week before & thought I'd like it. Sat outside at the front as the weather was glorious. Great atmosphere in the bar, decent music from all eras & several staff & customers chatted to us, making up feel relaxed & welcome. The drinks were fantastic, I drink cider & there was a gorgeous & very impressive choice of them, I had a Cloudy Rhubarb then an Elderflower one, both beautiful. We will definitely be visiting again.

Micropub situated a short walk from the bus & railway stations. Eclectic decor including a stuffed sheep. 3 real ales and a multitude of ciders on when we visited, the Goff's Lancer was especially nice

If u like cask beer or ale then u love this place. Cheep but nice quality drinks at low prices. Even service is good but great for locals. Nice atmosphere, specially love the colourful walls. Just next to dock in high street. Plenty of seating inside n outside too.

Stumbled upon the Cross Keys yesterday afternoon, met friends from Bristol, we were in Gloucester from Wolverhampton, and we heard Northern Soul playing from the street, so went in for a pint. Ended up staying for a few hours, the music was great, and then it turned into an 80s disco. The place filled out and everyone was dancing. Absolutely great fun, great atmosphere, lovely landlady. Will definitely return if we're ever in Gloucester again!

This Inn is very personal choice. They do have a good DJ Roger which is good. They do Karaoke 🎤 personal choice. This is up a side street and play music all day which is nice. Could do with a bit of decorating. But they have a jolly barman who is good fun and really interacts well with the customers (Flynn). It is reasonable for price.

Just reopened and looks nice inside. They have a dart board, pool table and a juke box which seems to have a good variety of music on. They are looking to do food soon but just getting kitchen sorted. They have a good selection of Real Ales and Ciders and Lagers. They can hold functions and do hold live music. Was a nice atmosphere and bar staff friendly and welcoming. Plenty of seating. You can find more information on Facebook. Will be going again and recommend. Reasonably priced.

Nice spacious pub in the centre of Gloucester. Its got an outside seating area. Doesn't have the atmosphere a lot of the other pubs have in Gloucester. Food menu is decent pub grub at good value prices. The interior decor is nice and modern looking.

This city centre pub oozes character from the first moment you see it, the building itself dates from the 16th century and parts of it look older. It's run by a young couple who are putting tremendous energy into the place, and it's rapidly becoming established as one of Gloucester's premier music venues, with music of various genres on offer several times a week, generally with free admission. The food menu isn't large, but the quality is fantastic with something on offer for every diet, and smaller bar snacks can be found too. The prices are good and the atmosphere is fantastic!

Not the first time we have been here. A few years ago it was good as well. By off chance we passed by and decided to stop for Sunday lunch. Without booking we were accommodated. Best beef we have had for a Sunday lunch in years. I just wished for better roast potatoes. The meal was good and satisfying. service was good and the establishment was clean (toilets too). May I recommend checking outside at the back - we sat outside to enjoy a longer rest - glasses and fags from the evening were still littering the tables.

Lovely cosy country pub with log fires, friendly helpful staff. Excellent restaurant with good service. Food was really good. Not cheap but you get what you pay for and I'd rather pay higher prices to ensure gems like this survive and don't become another statistic....

I recently had a two night stay at the Horse and Groom. It is absolutely idyllic. Plenty of room for parking, the staff especially Tom were attentive and the food is excellent. My room was in the oldest part of the building with crooked floors and its own full bathroom upstairs. I would recommend this traditional coaching inn to everyone.

Absolutely lovely pub. The food was incredible, we had the rump steaks with a lobster tail! My first ever lobster tail! Service was great and the setting was gorgeous for a beautiful sunny evening! Wish we lived closer!

Fantastic atmosphere, especially for Christmas. Staff are very friendly and approachable. The food is very good, I liked the seabass and the crumble is to die for. Portion size is just right. Excellent range of wines and gins. Would definitely come again!

After the Three Brooks parkrun, we headed to The Three Brooks pub for a well-deserved full English breakfast. The classic dish was the perfect post-run refuel, offering all the comforting essentials - eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, and toast.

Thank you to Pete and the team for hosting our work social event. We had a very friendly greeting on arrival. Pete arranged a superb hot buffet for approx 20 of my colleagues. He catered for our dietary requirements. The planning of the event was seamless and it was a great success. The food was excellent and met all our requirements. Pete and the staff were all friendly, helpful and attentive on the night, looking after our party whilst running a busy pub and restaurant. Thank you again 🙂

Very friendly staff, beer was cold, food was out of this world £18 for a mixed grill, yes please. Everything was cooked to perfection. The beef dripping gravy is a must. All in all a fantastic pudding and dog 🐕 friendly too.

Lovely local pub, friendly staff and Pete the landlord is a lovely chap. Although been here before, today we tried out the new menu, both our meals can out quickly and the food was tasty, looked appealing and plentiful. The drinks are one of the cheapest in the area and the outside drinking area is a open lovely spot in sun despite being on in a main road. Internally the pub is quaint with open fires in the winter. Tonight was a fun quiz which is normally run by a mad bearded character (Rob) with a dry sense of humour, fun had all round and held on Sundays and Tuesdays. We had a light snack cheesy garlic bread with gravy dip which was lovely. They do events and live music, the next is a Piratefest but they have lots of bangs on a weekend and bank holidays. Can heartily recommend a visit.

Our local pub, good food , good seating area if you are sat outside. Some good options to choose from. Service can be better especially for outside seating areas. You do need to rider from the app or at the bar. I have been inside before, it’s a bit dark during the day. I prefer the outside area but English weather doesn’t work in our favour

Decent pint. Ate here for 5 nights while working away. Food was flavorful and decent portions. Large screens in the bar area showing sports etc. would visit again if ever in the area.

Not bad but far from great! My partner and I visited for Sunday lunch, as expected the place was very busy. Most staff however were very helpful and efficient others were not so good and barely managed a grunt in our direction. The food was priced well and we had 3 courses for £11.99. To start we had breaded mushrooms which were lovely, and we were served pretty fast, the roast however was not so good. Rock solid roast potatoes, vegetables were pretty bland, some overcooked and some quite hard! The beef was ok but the rest was not great. However it was hot when it arrived to our table which is more than can be said for other places. For dessert we had salted caramel profiteroles and ice cream which was delicious. Unfortunately there was a large crowd and you could barely have a conversation without shouting at each other. All in all ok but nothing to write home about.
