British restaurant
The Ivy Cardiff is a trendy and eclectic restaurant that offers a unique dining experience. With its plush and classic interior, it has become known for exceptional service. Located within a 15-minute walk from Cardiff Met University accommodation, it's the perfect spot for a boujee Saturday brunch. The menu features a variety of options including seafood, meat dishes, eggs Benedict, buttermilk pancakes, steaks, and more.
Had a delicious meal here with friends. Mostly attentive service although occasionally waiting to get attention , when it wasn’t too busy really. I found the venue a little echoey.however. The environment was lovely.
Gill J — Google review
The venue is beautifully decorated with a stunning atmosphere — definitely a lovely place to sit and relax. The food was alright, nothing exceptional but enjoyable enough. Service, however, was very slow. It felt like there was only one server handling the entire place, which made the experience a bit frustrating. Staff were doing their best, but the venue really needs more hands on deck during busy periods.
Leon B — Google review
Food was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional, Solomon our waiter went above and beyond to make my birthday meal special. We visited as a family of 5 on the 26th of July, we all had a variety of different meals which were brought out quickly and efficiently, he was very attentive and he couldn't of been more welcoming, he even gave me a birthday desert with my very own candle. His service was excellent and he really made every effort to make the day memorable. Thank you Solomon and the staff at the ivy for making my day so wonderful. Would highly recommend.
Katie W — Google review
Special & “an Experience” - there is no other way to describe it except to say good value too. The decor is amazing and the service formal but in a wonderful way. It’s not somewhere to dash in and dash out. Rather it’s somewhere to relax and soak up the experience. Arguably, other places can sell better perhaps but none will rival will rival the range of menu options or the experience. The central bar island is a work of art and the venue loaded with wonderfully tended plants and interesting art. Where else can you have Champagne for breakfast?
Ashley M — Google review
Not just dining but a true dining experience. From the way you're greeted to the service at the table, from the main room decor to the very plush toilets, everything is an experience. The Ivy Cardiff is probably one of the slightly more expensive places to eat in the city, but, for a special occasion, it is honestly worth trying. Eating there on a Saturday, it was the main menu only, and to be fair, the drinks are what will probably push your bill up. They do have a very nice looking 2-course set menu for certain days which could be a winner in terms of value, if you're being a bit more cost conscious, I'll happily return to test that out. Fantastic food, table water without even asking (something I always ask for), service was brilliant, and you weren't rushed at all, which added to the experience. We booked in advance, so didn't wait for a table. There may be a wait if you just turn up. Oh, and if it's your birthday (as it was for me!) make sure to mention it as they might give you a little treat (see pictures).

Great brunch menu with lots of substantive lunch items but with some breakfast items. Eggs royale with smoked salmon particularly delicious. Great service and set up - as to be expected. Treat yourself. Careful - toilets are up a decent flight of steps…

As a solo diner I thought I might feel a bit weird, but the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Beautiful decor as you would expect. Will definitely return.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Full Version From the moment we walked into The Ivy Cardiff, we were treated wonderfully. We were greeted warmly at the front desk and shown to the bar, where the staff were cheerful, polite, and genuinely welcoming. The drinks were absolutely sensational — perfectly crafted and beautifully presented. Our server, a lovely young lady named Mikyla (apologies if that’s not the correct spelling!), was exceptional. She was friendly, relatable, and extremely knowledgeable, offering fantastic recommendations for which drinks paired best with our dishes. The food was simply exquisite. We started with the zucchini fritti — light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned — alongside the salty sourdough, which complemented it beautifully. For mains, we enjoyed perfectly cooked steak with creamy mash and crisp chips. Dessert was the birthday box, which was as delicious as it was fun. On our second visit, we returned for a light brunch — we couldn’t resist ordering the zucchini and sourdough again, and added the maple pancakes on the side. Everything was just as amazing as before. Every single staff member we met was friendly and professional. Special mention to Jamie, who took the time to chat with us and even opened the door as we left — a truly lovely touch. Thank you to everyone at The Ivy Cardiff for making both visits so memorable. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Bill's Cardiff Central Restaurant is a contemporary European chain offering separate breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch, and dinner menus. The restaurant provides a great British dining experience with options for gluten-free lunches such as grilled rump steak, Bills fish pie, Nduja meatballs, and gluten-free Burrata. Additionally, the restaurant offers pet-friendly seating both indoors and outdoors with a special dog menu featuring pooch wine and snacks. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available at this charming location in Cardiff Bay.
We received outstanding service from our server Tilly, and all the staff who assisted with bringing food to our table. Everyone was friendly and professional. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The flavors and seasonings were balanced, portions were just right and the presentation of each dish was spot on. I made a request to have the ice cream separate for my brownie dessert which is why it is plated as it is in the picture. I loved it! We also ordered a Passionfruit Martini and it was balanced, not too strong and not too sweet. We chose this restaurant because of the wide range of options so that everyone in my family could order something that would suit them. We ordered the seafood sharer, calamari, fries, hamburgers, fish pie, passionfruit martini, Americano coffee, ice cream, and a brownie.

What a pleasant surprise! I came with 3 colleagues around 8:40pm on a Thursday night for dinner and we were blown away by Bills. Their menu is a lot more extensive than we all thought and the vibe and decor were just so cute! We were seated right away near the bar area and decided to order family style. Here’s a list of everything: Ribbed corn (10/10) Classic sharer (9.5/10), dumplings were okay, sauce made it better Duck curry (7.5/10), good but our least favorite Sweet potato fries (8/10) Garlic greens (8.5/10) Wings on their specials menu (11/10), their ranch is out of this worlddd, not sure what they put in it but we dipped everything in it and asked for more. We stayed past closing and they didn’t rush us out at all. There were other customers still enjoying their meals and we were so pleasantly surprised. This is a must go for future visits. In total the bill was under 100£

Great service at Bill’s from the moment we arrived. After a disappointing service at a different restaurant this was a breath of fresh air. It was quite busy, but we managed to get a table within minutes. Great thanks to Lara for the amazing service today, she was so attentive. Really enjoyed my brunch here.

Had an Amazing time at Bills, the food and service were Great. Was visiting my son at university, and he was raving about the place. So went for breakfast before I left. After being greeted by a rude front of house person. We were relieved to have been served and looked after by Antonia, who was Brilliant! She made us feel very welcome and made the experience of visiting Bills exceptional. Full of fun and great banter. ✨🌟 ❤️
Sonia K — Google review
I absolutely love Bill’s… and this visit did not disappoint. The man who greeted us was so friendly and welcoming, as were the rest of the staff. And the food was BRILLIANT! So delicious. And the kids ate free. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.
Kat P — Google review
Went to Bill's for brunch with the girls (4 adults, 2 children.) Due to traffic, many were running late and the servers were very understanding and accommodating. Once everyone arrived, we promptly ordered drinks and food. When food arrived, the server unfortunately tripped and dropped all the adult meals. Thankfully the children's meals were already on the table and the rest of us were happy to wait. The server was absolutely lovely, quickly cleaned up and was very apologetic. It was a complete accident and we didnt mind waiting. The food was worth the wait! It was hot, fresh and absolutely delicous. Considering how busy it was, we didnt have to wait and excessive amount of time (the server even took the main meals off the total bill which was extremely kind of her) All in all, we had a lovely girls brunch and would definitely go back again

Had a good experience the service was great and Lara and the rest of the team was very nice and accommodating to my gluten allergy and dietary requirements. Compliments to the chef who did my grilled chicken burger it was cooked perfectly and not dry at all and had good flavour. Good seats and vibes so glad u guys have a gluten free menu haven’t been many places that have this will be back again highly recommend to anyone with dietary restrictions xx

Food was lovely. I had the breaded chicken breast with fries, coleslaw, and egg. My mum had a full english breakfast. Didn't like the capers on top though I think it kinda ruined the meal but It's my own fault for forgetting to ask to remove them. Full english breakfast was lovely. They take blue light card which is great if you want a decent discount. It took a very long time for staff to take our order and bring the bill, it was busy though. I'd recommend if its not busy and if you have a blue light card as the price would be worth it for the discount. Suitable for people with food allergies and had no issues with that.

The Botanist in Cardiff is a unique gastropub-style dining experience that offers a striking interior and a spacious outside terrace. This cocktail bar serves an extensive range of botanical cocktails, including seasonal options and custom creations by their mixologists. The food menu features an a la carte selection, Sunday Roasts, and their signature Hanging Kebabs.
Highly recommend the Triple Hanging Kebabs (Chicken, Lamb & Halloumi!). Food, Service, vibes were amazing. The decoration is insane, a real nice rustic jungle aesthetic. Highly recommend. The live music is pretty amazing! Went on a Saturday night and it was one of my favourite places to visit!
C B — Google review
The Botanist Cardiff is an absolutely stunning venue with a fantastic atmosphere that really sets it apart. The interior is beautifully designed and there is a gorgeous feature that truly makes the experience feel unique, a stage surrounded by a lake, complete with live music, which adds an elegant and lively touch to the evening. It is the kind of place where you want to sit back, relax, and soak in the ambiance. We came here for drinks and food and were really impressed with both. The cocktails were well made and beautifully presented, with attention to detail in every glass. I tried a couple and each one was smooth, flavorful, and nicely balanced. That said, they were on the expensive side, at just over ten pounds each. This is fairly standard for a premium city centre bar, but it would have been nice if the prices were just a little more accessible so more people could discover this place. For food, we ordered the hanging kebabs and they were absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. We also went for the sharing option, which came in at around forty two pounds, but it was more than enough for two people and definitely worth it in terms of taste and portion size. The presentation was eye catching and it arrived at the table looking every bit as good as it tasted. Service was friendly and attentive and everything came out in good time despite the place being busy and rather late. Overall, this is a fantastic spot for a treat or a special evening out. It is not the cheapest option in Cardiff, but the quality of the drinks, the food, and especially the setting all help justify the price. I would happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a vibrant and stylish night out, just be ready to spend a little more than average. Excellent beer and wine selection also!
Dewi G — Google review
Very creative drinks and cocktails, and a very nice selection of non-alcoholic options too. The venue is absolutely delightful incredibly beautiful. The food was very nice as well. All of the small plates ordered were tasty and the large kebabs and the botanist bowl were all very much enjoyed. The biggest issue really was the service, the weight staff seemed unenthusiastic and not particularly friendly. Our table felt a little intimidated by our waiter who had slightly rudely laughed at us when we were taking a little while to order he would clean empty tables before taking away our plates we just felt slighted in a way, he seemed rude. The kitchen also made a few clumsy errors, there was no pomegranate in a pomegranate couscous salad and falafel was not initially present in the botanist bowl despite being a crucial part of the meal. This was fixed in the end. We also felt it wasn’t justifiable as they were very quiet that it took so long for our order to be taken. On a different night, this could a very easily be a five star review. We just felt slightly put out by the front of house staff, the service was really not there.
Kian G — Google review
Everything about The Botanist is lovely. The staff, food, atmosphere, and a big emphasis on the drinks. Monday through Friday from 4 to 7pm you can enjoy happy hour, I certainly did. With a nice price and a 2 for 1 deal, you certainly get all the drinks you need. I was there celebrating a family members birthday and they went above and beyond, including a decorative dessert board. The hanging kebab you’ll find no where else, it definitely doesn’t disappoint. This is a perfect place to have some nice photos at your table or the bar with its greenery and low lighting. Be mindful of all the steps (there is an elevator). The staff are also very understanding about arriving a few minutes late to your reservation time. Definitely make a reservation if possible. Earlier in the evening you should necessarily need one, but better safe than sorry to miss out.
Emma K — Google review
We had the absolute pleasure of hosting our family from Asia at The Botanist, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I had requested a simple note saying “Welcome to Cardiff,” but what we received was so much more—a beautifully decorated wooden plate with the message thoughtfully written on it, accompanied by a delicious brownie! It was such a heartfelt surprise, and our guests were genuinely touched. The staff were incredibly attentive, professional, and clearly passionate about creating a memorable experience. Every detail, from the ambiance to the service, was spot-on. We’re so grateful for the warm hospitality and can’t wait to return to The Botanist to host more of our loved ones in the future. Thank you for making our day so special!

Came to the lovely botanists tonight for my best friends birthday, it was absolutely amazing! All of the food was so delicious, and the ambiance was lovely. The live music was so much fun, it felt like a party, and the lead singers voice was incredible! Ethan took care of us all night and made sure everything was perfect! Would 100% recommend!!

The Philharmonic is a lively venue offering British cuisine, cocktails, and happy hour specials. It's known for its popular bottomless brunch featuring mouthwatering dishes like full Welsh breakfast, pancakes, and pretzel butties paired with cosmopolitan or pornstar martinis. The venue also offers a two-for-one happy hour daily and showcases sports on large screens. Additionally, it boasts one of the best rooftop bars in Cardiff with TVs and ample seating.
Nice gentleman encouraged me inside. Good music, had special offers on at time. Which took advantage of!! You should too!! Good service, very helpful. Place had lots of different areas to sit. Go see for yourself..
Melanie F — Google review
Worst bottomless brunch I’ve had. The brunch its self was in a quiet room upstairs away from the atmosphere of the bar. We started are brunch at 8pm and there was one other group there at the time it just had no vibe there. The drinks were very slow and after waiting awhile for another order my friends went to the bar its self and tried placing an order but were told the server would be over in a minute and to wait and that took an extra 5 minutes. After that the service was a bit better with drinks at least. I kept asking where the food was and it didn’t turn up till 9:30pm when we started at 8pm. The food was pre ordered as well which made it more confusing why it took so long. The food was all cold apart from one of my friends where it was slightly warm. My friend did complain about the food and we had a discount off the price which was good and a tray of free shots. We were told the other table had also complained of the food being cold and at the start of the night a group of girls who saw us coming in said it was awful and there food was cold as well. I’d be more underwing if they were busier but it was quiet and the fact it was pre ordered made me more annoyed. I definitely will not be coming back again for the brunch but the bar downstairs did have a good vibe, I’d recommend going here after a brunch somewhere else.

Went in for a quick brunch before exploring the city. Good and quick service, polite staff and yummy food. The chips that came with the burger were probably one of the best ones I've had in a long while. Crunchy fresh and seasoned to perfection. Loved the seating options too. Overall great experience! Definitely recommend this place.

Had a fantastic experience in The Philharmonic for my best friend’s hen do, there were 16 of us so we were a big group. Plus it was Saturday on a rugby day so it was super busy. We booked for bottomless brunch and the experience was great we all had back to back drinks about 7 per person and the food was out at once and all hot/tasty. We were all super happy, big thank you to the young girl serving us, we were a rowdy group but she was attentive and kept the drinks flowing!
Chloe L — Google review
The experience was genuinely awful. First, I was charged a £120 deposit after increasing my booking from 10 to 12 people (double the original £50 deposit with no explanation, despite asking three times). On arrival, we were given three separate tables scattered around the room — despite booking for one group. When I raised this with a staff member, she was rude, dismissive, wouldn’t make eye contact, and rolled her eyes at colleagues. We asked to move to a round table that could actually seat us together — only to find it covered in vomit. We reported it, expecting a proper response, but got another eye roll and the bare minimum of cleaning. More vomit was later found behind cushions and on the floor. Staff called us “high maintenance” for asking for basic hygiene — WE CLEANED UP SOMEONE ELSES VOMIT ON OUR TABLE. The same staff member later accused us of only submitting 4 food orders (we booked for 12), dropped her pen on one of my guests, didn’t apologise, and continued ignoring questions while writing on her clipboard. When I asked who to speak to about all this, she shrugged and said, “The head office is in London – not my problem.” We had ONE drink in the first hour of a bottomless brunch, the food arrived cold, and the staff were consistently rude. Totally unacceptable service, poor hygiene, and a complete lack of professionalism. Would not return and don’t recommend.
Molly R — Google review
Lovely welcome from the bar person as we arrived. Just popped in out of the rain and was immediately informed of the two for one offer on. Great choice of cocktails and usual bar drinks menu. Huge pub so on a wk end I can imagine it would be quite a place to add to the crawl round town and a great spot for big groups.

Little Man Coffee is a popular local coffee shop with a laid-back atmosphere, offering a variety of beverages including espresso, smoothies, and tea. The shop also serves cafe meals and pastries. It's an ideal spot for remote workers as the staff welcomes them and sometimes offers a fixed rate for working there all day, with inclusive tea and coffee available. Additionally, visitors can claim a free cup of coffee if they arrive before 10 am.
I was recommended to try this place, and I really enjoyed it. I had a v60 pour over with the house blend beans and it was lovely, rich and flavourful but not at all bitter. I also had a delicious bacon bap with a lovely soft seeded bap. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor here, a great mix of comfortable arm chairs, industrial furniture and what looks like church pews. Brilliant. Everyone was so helpful and I was offered a choice of v60, cafetiere, or aeropress. I have walked past this café many times, I just wish I'd walked in sooner. Highly recommended.
Grahame I — Google review
The only vegan food they had was some carrot cake (and I grabbed the last slice…!) I wish they’d offer more vegan options. The space itself is very nice and cozy, good music but not too loud.
CDM — Google review
I recently visited this café which not only served a variety of breakfast and brunch options but also offered what I can confidently say was the best coffee I had during my time in Cardiff. I opted for a black Americano, but it was clear they took their coffee seriously, with an evident dedication to quality that shone through in every sip. The beans were expertly brewed, resulting in a rich, well-balanced flavour profile that highlighted the nuances of the coffee without being overshadowed by bitterness. It’s refreshing to find a place that genuinely cares about the craft of coffee-making. The atmosphere of the café complemented the experience beautifully. With its vintage chairs, wall-mounted artwork that added an artistic touch, and an overall relaxed décor, the space had a distinct hipster vibe that made it inviting. It’s the perfect setting for enjoying a good coffee, whether you’re looking to engage in conversation with friends or simply unwind with a book. If you’re in Cardiff and searching for a place that values quality coffee in a charming environment, this café is definitely worth a visit.

Nice concept in an up and coming location. Food was pretty good and prices reasonable for city centre location. Staff could have been more attentive and professional - no spoon with coffee, not much engagement when placing order and all stood around chatting when we left and called thanks. A bit more attention to detail would really make a difference.

Love this spot for GOOD coffee and cute small bites. Refreshingly independent in the sea of the center’s chains, great value, lovely atmosphere and vibe. Plus my kids’ favorite hot chocolate (with whipped cream). Long live little man!

Service was good, it’s a nice little cafe - some comfy seating. I didn’t eat, cakes looked nice though. However, the cappuccino was horrible - just learn to make a decent cappacino and you’d have a great cafe. Mine was just a milky coffee.

Update for December 2023: Possibly my favourite cafe anywhere. Coffee is great, staff are phenomenal and so friendly, and it is just such a chilled out spot. I love that they stock so many coffees from a huge variety of different welsh coffee roasters, and can even enjoy this selection at home now with the new coffee box delivery Little Man do. I have so much love for Team Little Man - thank you all! :) Original post: My favourite cafe in Cardiff. Coffee is fantastic, food is delicious, and they cater to veggie and vegan too which is good for our friends. Always vigilant and helpful with my allergies - can't fault them. The staff are all lovely and the atmosphere is chilled and happy. Not too pretentious, and doing their bit for the community. Also dog friendly, and they even deliver coffee or alt milks to your door! 6/5 stars if I could!

The menu features dishes like Turkish eggs with garlic yoghurt, chorizo hash, Welsh minute steak with eggs, and breakfast brioche buns filled with halloumi, bacon, or sausage. The cafe also serves sustainably sourced coffee with unique flavors and fresh local food.
After a long walk this morning, we stopped at this café and were absolutely blown away! The food was incredibly fresh, and the ingredients were top-notch—honestly, the best eggs I’ve ever had. The coffee was delicious, and the hot chocolate was equally divine. They also had great vegan options, which was a huge plus. Overall, a perfect spot for a quality bite and a great drink!

I was having a bit of a cry before I got the salted caramel hot chocolate and I genuinely think it was so good that it calmed me down. Possibly the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Helps that the vibes inside the shop were very calm, and the member of staff was lovely too (I don’t know his name but he had ginger hair and glasses) and even warned me when the machine was going to be loud. 10/10.

An alright place to have breakfast and the avocado on sourdough was delicious and plentiful. Though they could take it down a notch with all the bird seed on top (nuts, flaxseed, sunflower seeds) because i found myself coughing from breathing in it in. On my first initial bite, but anyways all was fine and it’s still a great day.

This place used to be much better and our usual spot for breakfast . But unfortunately it seems like the quality has gone downhill and you see fewer and fewer people in the cafe. The breakfast quality is so poor now and the portion size has halved on every ingredient even bread!! I don’t think we’ll visit again unless forced to. Very sad for the this business

This cafe is at a nice location, within short walk from the national sport center. Very convenient. It offers a simple and non extensive menu. We went for the meat breakfast, pancakes and a veggie breakfast. For which, I asked if I could replace the cheese as it makes one very bloated! But been told by the waitress that CHEESE isn't an allergy, and they won't swap anything out. I don't recommend on their customer service, but their food was nice, especially the pancakes! The chef who served the food was very friendly. Unlikely to return unfortunately.

Came here on Saturday few weeks ago. I was served by a very lovely girl (I think her name was Sophie) she recommended the hot chocolate. I definitely come back.

Amazing food! So good that we came 2 days in a row. I only wish we tries it on the first day we could but alas, we stumbled upon it on the second last and last day of being in Cardiff. The lovely batista person behind the till had asked if we wanted a loyalty card and we explained we were on holiday. When we went back the next day he asked us if we were certain and we said we were sadly driving off after our breakfast. I noticed after paying for some sandwiches etc. for the road, that they had peanut butter, dark chocolate and sea salt cookies and asked my husband to get me one and the batista person gave me it on the house for returning, and wished us a safe journey. This genuinely made my whole day! Please go here, its soo good. I recommend the rose and jasmine tea, and honestly anything with poached eggs because the food was outstanding.

This is my closest local coffee place and I really love coming here! However several times now I've received a coffee with oat milk that has curdled, meaning it's either at or past its date, or has not been shaken properly which results in chunks. Please check this more carefully in the future.

It's an ideal spot for heavenly cocktails and delicious cuisine. Additionally, the location offers a spacious outdoor terrace suitable for bringing along your furry friend.
I recently visited Slug & Lettuce with my colleagues, and we had such a lovely time. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, perfect for winding down after work. Our server, Joe, was absolutely fantastic: friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The food and drinks were great, and the whole experience felt easy and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend, and we’ll be back again soon. Thanks, Joe!

I visited slug and lettuce to celebrate my birthday. We arrived early and the team let us sit down anyways and within five minutes we had our first of many drink orders. The drinks were continuous and the service was spot on. The food was lovely, however could have been a better variety. Overall I enjoyed my time very much, drinks were amazing and atmosphere was brilliant 🤩

Had such a great time here! Jasmine was absolutely amazing — so friendly and attentive throughout. The food was delicious, and the bottomless drinks came quickly, even with the busy crowd. The music was a bit loud for us and it got quite warm upstairs, but the lively vibe made up for it. Overall, a fantastic experience with brilliant service — we’ll definitely be back!

We sang happy birthday to 3 different parties and did a rendtion of O Gymru on the stairs for the whole pub before leaving. Great afternoon. Great atmosphere and great value for money. We will be back.

Very poor for what I envisaged a decent establishment. Food very mediocre, service was non existent. Had to order food at bar, we were a table of 9 and food came out for 3 of us.. 3 others about 5 mins later, 2 others another 5 mins and 1 had to wait another 15 mins as you can see on photo all finished and guy on end just started.. its just poor, you ensure everones meals are ready together. Had to ask for cutlery. No one asked if we needed any sauces. No one asked if we enjoyed food. No apology for lateness of the 1 meal. Totally sterile waiting staff..

Chapter Arts Centre is a vibrant cultural hub in Cardiff, offering a diverse range of international art, performances, and films. The center also features a cozy cafe for visitors to relax and enjoy some refreshments. In addition to its artistic offerings, Cardiff boasts an array of entertainment options and dining experiences. From the Wales Millennium Centre's lively shows to the sophisticated theater productions at The New Theatre, there's something for everyone.
Thoroughly impressed with the space and the services offered. I think one improvement that could be made is to the seating area on the ground floor. It crowds the bar a bit which can quickly become a bottleneck when the venue is busy. The theatre rooms themselves were brill, great to see the sound and stage effects team working behind the scenes at the rear of the seating area. Seating was perfect for a 1-2 hour showing, any longer might be rougher on the knees and back. Staff were super friendly, offered all sorts of recommendations. Beautiful outside seating area with heatlamps provided.

Went to the cinema here and had a drink in the lovely sunny courtyard. The cinema was very impressive and not too hot inside. The seats were very plush but a little bit tight on the hips, leg room was fairly good. I really enjoyed this cinema, highly recommended.

Today I attended an event at Chapter Arts Centre focused on patients, medication, and our health.. bringing together doctors, pharmacists, clinics, advocacy groups, and patients alike. The event itself was wonderful: informative, inclusive, and full of positive conversations about how we can better support one another. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the venue’s actions. Attendees were asked to leave because the staff were not up to date on what CBMPs (Cannabis-Based Medicinal Products) are. This decision felt deeply discriminatory toward people who rely on prescribed medication for legitimate health conditions. It’s important to remember that the Equality Act exists for exactly this reason.. to ensure no one is treated unfairly due to their health or medical needs. Stigma should never override the law or compassion. Many of us attending were simply trying to participate in an event about health and wellbeing, yet we were made to feel excluded for managing our health responsibly. I truly hope Chapter Arts Centre takes this as an opportunity to educate their team, review their policies, and work toward becoming a more inclusive and understanding venue. No patient should have to fear being discriminated against for their prescribed treatment.

Great location and space It's fab they have vynil music evenings. BUT I have not seen a decent exhibition here for the last three years. They always look like random items from the charity shop bin. I went there again today, and they have empty picture frames on display.. Give local artists a chance, employ local people who are in touch with the community.

Me and my dad went just for the gallery and we absolutely loved and analyzed the current exhibition. We really like what the artists were expressing and felt the difficulties endured by those immigrant women. It was thought provoking. We got a pleasant and interesting visit. I recommend this place especially if you're into modern art.

I discover this beautiful Centre during my last time in Cardiff. Stop over for a coffee and a cake in the large coffee bar. A wonderful ample room, with a lovely atmosphere, where to socialise over a coffee, but there is much than a cafe: cinemas, theatres, exhibition spaces, studios, etc. Im coming back.

I've been coming to Chapter for 6 years and it's such a fantastic and valuable centre for arts and culture in Cardiff. The cinema programme is always really interesting - a mix of films that would be shown at the bigger chains, smaller films that I don't see elsewhere, and series/festivals (e.g. animation film festival, short films etc). I've only been to see a theatre show here once but it was great. The Caffi Bar serves excellent food and drink and is a lovely place to chill out by yourself or with friends. Diolch yn fawr to the Chapter team!

The Coal Exchange Hotel, located in the historic 19th-century coal exchange building in Cardiff, offers a luxurious experience with refined rooms and upscale dining. The hotel is known for its swanky bottomless brunches at Culley's Kitchen and Bar, where guests can enjoy freshly produced brunch fare and unlimited Prosecco or beer for 90 minutes.
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. I think the room was due a bit of a spruce up including air-conditioning, although we did stay in a heatwave and I was informed they are in the process of having it installed which takes time on a listed building. We also didn't have hot water, for one night that was no issue. Breakfast was lovely, very tasty and fresh. But the best thing was the staff, they were so friendly and helpful it made our stay feel extra special, big shout out to Scott (I think his name was) for going the extra mile for us. We will be back 🥰
Johanna M — Google review
What a shame - and what a missed opportunity. The hotel is housed in an incredible old building and the outside approach is striking as you walk to the main entrance - almost like a grand French chateau. Unfortunately there are all sorts of let-downs once you check in. The purple and black decor is more like a relic of a bad 90s nightclub - does anyone really want padded black leather behind their head, deep purple walls and a random history of the building printed on the ceiling above the bed? (Weirdest design decision of all - see photo...) We had a bed which was comfortable and clean but pretty small - too small for the size of room or for us to sleep comfortably. It was also hot and stuffy throughout the hotel - with double glazed/double width windows that restricted the amount of fresh air you could get into your room. There is an amazing grand hall behind reception, but it's just left abandoned and unlit in between functions and feels like a forgotten part of the building - right in the centre of it. The breakfast buffet is extensive but poor quality - worst (bready and tasteless) sausages I have had for a while, black pudding that wasn't cooked, powdery scrambled egg, tinned mushrooms. The only yogurts available were banana and toffee flavoured - not a great breakfast choice. And you pay extra for a proper coffee. Someone with a bit of taste needs to grab this place and shake it up - it could be fantastic, but currently feels dated and unloved. Could do better...

We’ve stayed over a year ago and had a lovely experience however, sadly this time we were severely underwhelmed and won’t be coming back. The room was poorly lit, the toilet leaking, and both the bath and shower taps in the room were broken. Also, the hotel was hosting an event, around 50/60 guests were in the lobby on arrival drinking and socialising, it was extremely difficult and uncomfortable getting to reception to check in. The music from this event was playing until midnight which kept us awake. The only saving grace was the receptionist who was extremely welcoming and kind.

Booked for the 26th October at a price of £244 for breakfast and king size room with king bed and hot tub. On arrival was told they had trouble with my booking and didn't have king size bed only 3 beds in the room with hot tub. As this was a romantic weekend away immediately it was spoilt my the actions of hotel. Fair to say we will not be back there. Was offered no refund or compensation so had to stay in room not impressed. Breakfast very good girls in breakfast room amazing. Overall reception terrible service terrible. Breakfast and staff amazing

My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Coal Exchange on the 8th of August 2025, and we honestly can’t speak highly enough of the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism. A big thank you to Jamie on reception, who was incredibly friendly and polite – he made us feel instantly welcome and set the tone for a fantastic stay. Our room was stunning – beautifully decorated, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The highlight was definitely the spa bath in the room, which added a luxurious and relaxing touch to our evening. It was the perfect way to unwind. We also had the chance to dine at the hotel’s restaurant, and the food was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Special mention goes to restaurant managers Haley and Sam T, who were both outstanding – attentive, professional, and clearly passionate about delivering a great dining experience. All in all, The Coal Exchange exceeded our expectations in every way. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

First room we were given was dirty, carpet not cleaned and no toilet roll in bathroom. They gave us a new room. Table was dirty. Tiles around bath were dirty. The sheets were popping off the bed before we got into it so it was a battle all night. Bedside tables were taller than the bed so were a hazard for bumps as the beds are also small. We booked this hotel over others in the area for the jacuzzi bath but there was no hot water not even for washing your hands. Never again!!

We just got back from a lovely 2 night stay at the Coal Exchange Hotel. The hotel has so much character and charm, rooms are spacious with lovely facilities throughout the hotel. The restaurant ‘Aura’ is a must do, the food is amazing. The staff are always smiling, very helpful, friendly and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend eating and staying at the Coal Exchange Hotel. Is a perfect location also as Cardiff Bay is on your doorstep. Thanks for a lovely weekend break.

Good location but room had not been cleaned old night wear still on door in bathroom, hair pins found on floor and toilet was dirty. Was not told about pre booking the q carpark and nothing on the website to advise you. Lady on reception didn't seem to care either. Aside from waiting an age on a quiet afternoon for food, before having to chase, I've genuinely never seen such a sorry looking tart. It was supposed to be topped with goats cheese but there wasn't even a hint in the taste or visually. Loaded Mac and cheese was chilled at base of the bowl and cold internally, we had to return to ask it to be heated.

Wish I could give it a 0/5 stars. Waited 45 minutes past our booking time of 8:30pm. Only to be waiting a further 20 minutes for someone to come to the table to serve us. This company will go nowhere! Disgrace. Anyway here is a photo of the Toby Jug - they go for £550 on eBay!

Took the family out for a carvery and straight away were left waiting to get a table. Then left waiting while our server eagerly passed out comment cards for other tables, another ten minutes past. Made our order and had to wait for servers to come out of the kitchen, another five minutes. The food was definitely not up to standard and extremely dry. Server did not bring out the extras we had ordered and tried to charge us for them. Extremely dissatisfied with the whole experience and especially the server who seemed to be more interested in getting likes for her service. Very poor!

Visited with group of friends. We were eager to see the results of the recent refurbishment. It was very nice and looked a lot fresher. The food was very disappointing. The beef was horrendous it was really fatty, not enjoyable at all. There wasn't anyone topping up the vegetables, there was quite a wait for things to be replenished which caused a queue. Only one pot of gravy with very little left and lukewarm. Overall very disappointed, won't rush back.
Linda — Google review
Toby Carvery, Whitchurch, didn't disappoint! We went for a family roast—three adults and one very happy child. The carvery was a glorious sight: a plentiful selection of beef, pork, and turkey, all topped with a customary giant Yorkshire pudding. I'm pretty sure I heard my stomach cheer as I piled my plate high with roasties, mash, and veggies, all drowned in gravy and mint sauce. The unlimited soft drinks are a great touch, even if the flavor machine was playing hard to get! The atmosphere was brilliant and the staff were absolutely lovely. A perfect Sunday outing. Highly recommend!

Encountered angry and impolite staff, didn’t feel like they were happy to help at all. Other customers love cutting the queue, mouthy if you confront them. Just avoid going there if you want good customer service or a good time. Definitely 0% pleasure before you even touch the food, 100% disappointment.

Enjoyed the Moo & Blue pie which essentially a Mince pie with Stilton blue cheese run through it. This was served on a bed of potato mash, I also had a side of the coleslaw. The flavours were fantastic and the pie was cooked just right, with a lovely crispy fluffy pastry

We visited on a weekday, it was quiet and we was served quickly. It looks like the food is premade and just needed warming up so did not take long for our orders to arrive (saying that I probably wouldn't want to wait 20+ mins for them to bake a fresh pie) The pies were tasty and as you can see, it's thin crust with lots of filling.

Super tasty pies at a great deal and atmosphere. Lots of combinations to he had. I loved the feelin' gravy. I'm addicted to British pies and I've seen this place in a few cities and have been wanting to try it out. It did not disappoint. Excellent service, well seasoned, and such a great value.

We were a party of 4 and had pre booked our visit. We had a starter to share one of which was crackling and it was so hard you couldn't hear anything else as you chomped on it, but the halloumi chips were ok. My pies came out, with the minted peas on top which meant the pie top was soggy and the mash around the pie. It looked a mess, tastewise it was ok but I prefer my pies to be a bit crispy. The gravy was nice enough. We also each had a cocktail, they all came without any ice and were warm, and they all tasted very syruppy and not very nice. We were app really quite disappointed.
Suzanne — Google review
The food they had was fantastic, they were just missing lots from the menu. The staff explained they had been unusually busy the day before and hadn't had their delivery that day yet (even late in the afternoon) so had few sides and were missing some mains. The staff were friendly and open about the food limitations but only once we were ordering and it was getting late for us to find somewhere else. Will definitely be back though, the food/pie was very tasty!

Really glad we went here while visiting Cardiff. We went because we saw they had some vegan options, and there's no way we could pass up a vegan pie! It was nice and cosy inside. Service was very quick and friendly. We ordered the "this isn't a chicken and bacon pie" and the "mooless-moo". The chicken one was nice, but not great, the texture was a bit off and not as creamy or flavourful as we hoped. But the mooless moo was delicious. We added the "Mother Earth" to one of the pies, so also got some peas, mash and a parsnip & kale fritter. Worth the upgrade as the sides were also very good and filling.
Kate M — Google review
Ha, think Yorkshire pudding on a pie is a bad idea. Also, not thoroughly impressed by the food quality. Nothing on the plate tasted fresh. Mash and gravy pretty bland and the pie pastry was tough. I have eaten better pies in London albeit a tad more expensive price wise. It was a hearty meal on a cold winter day nonetheless.

Had quite a unique experience, but can still whole heartedly say that's it's the best place to be in Cardiff. We were asked to leave due a photo that a friend and I took, interestingly attached and no, it isn't the couple that were annoyed. The lady said that we were taking photos of her and we were then asked to leave. We shown the photo to security and can honestly say that the security handled it like absolute gentlemen and explained the situation. The service prior was nothing but exceptional and speedy, the pints were great and even though it ended rather negatively, it was still handled with grace. Rare to say that the way security handle things here helps boost this place. What a place to be.

There are QR codes on the table for you to order but unfortunately ours didn’t work, so we had to go to the bar to order. I had the Green Machine Mac & Cheese which was delicious. My partner had the Rocket Man pizza which he said was great, it was quite big but it was thin so not too filling. We also had to have the tater tots which are always among the best I’ve ever had!! It was busy when we arrived, but service was still impeccable and we didn’t wait too long for food. If I’m ever in the arena for an event, I absolutely will be coming here.

Nice and clean place. Staff are amazing and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Pizza was okayish, wasn’t the best. Too thin and bit greasy. My wine was very good though.

Food and drinks at Stable today, I forget how great this place is. Firstly booked for 6 but ended up being 8 which was accommodated with no fuss. Pizza's were insane. The best selection of ciders and beers. Staff amazing too. Great, straightforward, no fuss, good value, delicious food, great service. Just what we all needed after Cardiff Half.

Absolutely amazing service by Charlotte and Alex, made sure we had enough food and drink, would 100% recommend as it’s fabulous, £37 for bottomless cocktails and food!!! Please make sure Charlotte and Alex get a congratulations and are rewarded for their great service!! Sean was also lovely during the night. Great team overall!!

Bottomless brunch is really good value for money. As a group of 5 we shared bowls of tater tots, garlic bread and nachos to start. This was probably enough food, but then also had a pizza each! The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. I think our waiters name was Evan and he was exceptional. We had booked a table on a day there was a big concert in the castle so everywhere was extremely busy, however this did not reflect in the service. We didn’t have to wait long for our food or drinks. Would highly recommend

Juno Lounge is a trendy cafe and bar located in the vibrant Roath area of Cardiff. With its stripped-pine tables, eclectic decor, and a roof terrace, it offers a laid-back atmosphere for patrons to enjoy. The menu features an array of global dishes, including the popular shakshuka, along with an extensive cocktail list. The venue's lovely corner spot with large windows provides great people-watching opportunities while savoring the food and drinks.
Food was tasty, well presented. Gluten free and vegan menus with lots of options, including desserts. The fries were delicious. Two floors to sit, good view of the street from upstairs. Staff is helpful, polite and friendly. This is place I will go back.

I love going to The Lounges because of their huge gluten free menu. Ive been to a few and this did not disappoint. The food was great, a wide variety of gluten free options with a dedicated menu. The cocktails are always great and it's a nice cosy atmosphere. The staff are always friendly too.

First time going to Juno Lounge. We’ve recently moved into the area & noticed it was under refurbishment so we were glad that it was finally open! We had the Tapas & a jug of Sangria.. The food was lovely & the atmosphere was good too. Staff were also friendly & helpful. I’d definitely recommend!

I've visited a few different Lounges venues, and had nothing but positive experiences, and Juno Lounge was more of that. The food was delicious, and delivered quickly, and the drinks were very tasty too! There was a slight confusion with one of the drinks orders, but this was rectified promptly. I was unfortunate to leave a personal belonging on the table, and didn't realise until I was far away from the venue, but Ryan was very helpful in reuniting me with my lost item, so extra thanks to him. 10/10 would recommend if you're looking for a reasonably priced place to eat/drink.

Lovely place to grab a bite especially with their newly renovated upstairs area. It's bright and airy, filled with natural light and a charming garden-like atmosphere that makes dining feel extra special. We asked for clean glasses but the replacement ones were worse, hence the 4* for service.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Last Saturday, our whole team from the Albany Road Post Office went to Juno Lounge on Wellfield Road for a team dinner. We had an amazing time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food and drinks were excellent, and the service was outstanding. The entire team at Juno Lounge made us feel so well looked after, especially Zoe, who was so friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the evening. A big thank you to everyone working on the bar and the floor staff for making our night special. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great service and a relaxed vibe.

A £10M refurb, a bigger kitchen and a fresh/new vibe can't stop the kitchen from serving frozen onion rings and slaw that tasted like it was made from 2-week old cabbage. It also can't stop the bar serving flat beer at £6.50 a pint. Some of the staff were like zombies, also. Had an even worse experience in the Didcot one a few months back. It aint cheap, either, for what it is. Get it together, guys!

Bakery
Brød - The Danish Bakery is a cozy coffee shop and bakery located in the heart of Cardiff. Founded by Betina Skovbro, who brought a taste of Denmark to Wales after missing the bread from her home country, this bakery offers a variety of freshly baked Danish pastries and great coffee made with beans from Clifton Roasters. It's an ideal spot for a quick breakfast treat before starting your day, whether you're heading to uni or simply looking for a sweet start to your morning.
Really worth a visit to this local but Danish bakery. They only had cold options plus hot drinks of course but what I had was fantastic. I only dropped in as I was waiting for a meeting, but the service and food was excellent. I will be visiting again without doubt. Parking is always a problem in this part of Cardiff but you can park not too far away. The coffee shop bakery was very clean, stylish and had a lovely morning vibe. So do yourself a favour and drop in for something to eat as it is not just somewhere to have a drink but an excellent place to put on some calories, I know I did!

Very cute shop for a nice coffee or study date. I ordered a cinnamon roll and some green tea. They accidentally brought me the wrong one they gave me the one with apple, and they soon realized that it’s wrong so they kindly replace it and even asked if I wanted them both. The shop has a bathroom and it’s very clean and accessible to disabled people. It offers a wide range of pastries. Sadly I think that the cinnamon roll was a bit too sweet for me especially with the glaze on top, so I removed it and it was better.
WZX C — Google review
I visited this bakery and found the place spacious and comfortable, with a cozy atmosphere. Their baked goods are delicious and fresh, and I really enjoyed the variety they offer. However, I wish they had a service to warm up the pastries — it would be wonderful to enjoy hot, freshly warmed pastries, especially on cold winter days.

Lovely bakery, food was amazing so was the coffee. Staff was nice and the atmosphere was very vibrant. You could tell by how busy it was that the foods good! Would definitely recommend a visit but be prepared to spend a bit!

Coffee was average and overpriced. £3.95 for a flat white and £3.5 for a long black. I would expect very good quality for those prices and it didn't deliver. They also charge 60p for oat milk.
Adam S — Google review
This is an elite bakery! In all my travels I love heading to a bakery to get myself a sweet or savoury treat, and this sits top of the pile. At this place I got both sweet and savoury due to the excellent selection on offer. I had a cinnamon swirl that was beautifully soft with delicious flavour of cinnamon and white icing. For the savoury treat I had a cheese and pepperoni swirl, that again was beautifully soft and packed with unbelievably good cheesy flavour. If you’re in Cardiff it’s well worth heading up to this part of town to grab something!

What a gem this place is. Went for the bottomless brunch, and it was fantastic. I had the kg of chicken wings, because I identify as 2 - 3 people. Absolutely fantastic food, I was very surprised how good it was. Im a Guinness drinker, and can confirm it was on point. Mind your head on the gents toilets 🤣🤣 i did almost scalp myself. The pub itself is very inviting, and the staff are exceptional and very helpful. I turned up on my bike, so was conscious about having it in view which the staff were happy to accommodate. Very homely and warm inside also super clean including the toilets. Overall a must visit place in cardiff. I was over the moon with this pub, and will be frequenting it. Recommend all day long.

5 Stars – Amazing Experience at The Woodville Cardiff! We had a wonderful experience at The Woodville in Cardiff! From the moment we arrived, the whole team was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and fully accommodating to our family. We visited using Wowcher vouchers, and everything was seamless. Jess was absolutely fantastic – so attentive and kind – and her manager even went out of their way to make a special mocktail for my daughter, which really made her day! The entire bar and team went above and beyond what we could have expected. The service, atmosphere, and personal touches made it a truly memorable visit. Highly recommended – thank you to Jess and everyone at The Woodville! xx

I ordered beef brisket fries and had literally no words when I got a bowl of chips with some sort of sauce with mince and peppers in it? There was so little of the mixture, and even within the sauce there was so little beef. It reminded me of that mince bolognese you get in a tin, but not as flavourful? So weird! I never want to bother anyone and the staff were really nice, but I'm very sad I just paid 7.50 for absolutely nothing even remotely related to beef brisket 😂 If you're thinking about eating here I wouldn't, but it looks decent for pints and student drinks deals.

Me and my family are here before the Oasis concert. Lovely restaurant located within the bay. We had a beautifully situated table facing the sea. Staff were very friendly and the service was great. I have a gluten allergy and there was plenty of options to choose from. I was spoilt with choice! Would recommend booking a table in advance though especially if there is a concert on as it did get very busy. Food was cooked to perfection and was reasonably priced. If you are in mermaid bay this place is a must to eat or have a drink .

Busy Loungers Restaurant in Cardiff Bay. The menu is small compared to other Loungers but was fine. I had the Spanish Chicken which was tasty. The service was swift, which was good as we were off to a show.

My husband and I love visiting Cosy Club. Mainly because I have food allergies (not intolerances) & I know for certain that my allergies are taken seriously. I've dined out in many locations but the only thing I can ever order is a steak, not in Cosy Club! There's a whole allergen free menu that currently includes burgers, curry and steaks. The Thai curry is STUNNING. One of the best I've ever had, actually. My husband had a smash burger which he devoured. He said it was juicy, fresh and full of flavour. Along with our mains, we also had paprika prawns, tenderstem broccoli and truffle fries... Each dish was full of flavour, well presented and delicious. Agnes was our waitress, and has been many times, actually, and, as always, the service we received was second to none. Impeccable. Agnes is attentive but not too in your face. I told her a fancied a cocktail, she asked me what alcohol I liked, so I told her and she recommended 2 that were stunning! All the staff are really pleasant to speak to. Cardiff Central is closer to my home, but we chose to go to the Bay because we know the service is so good. I cannot wait to visit again.

We had a fantastic evening celebrating our wedding anniversary! Our server Luke went above and beyond to make us feel special, even treating us to a glass of champagne and dessert on the house. The Panko-Crusted Cod was incredible, and that 10oz Rib-Eye Steak was cooked to perfection, served with delicious fries and mac and cheese. To top it off, the Miso Caramel Custard Tart was the best dessert we've had in ages! We're definitely coming back and will be recommending this place to all our friends and family!

The service was spot on, and the atmosphere made it all the more enjoyable. I can’t wait to come back for another round!

What a gem of a place! We loved the Asian Buttermilk Fried Chicken —spicy but not over the top, and the smash burgers are to die for, a perfect blend of flavours. The service was spot-on; attentive yet not intrusive, making our meal even better. Can’t wait to come back!

Cafe
Hard Lines Cafe has become a beloved coffee icon in Cardiff, with locations in Canton and Cardiff Market. The cafe is known for its great coffee, customer relationships, sustainability efforts, and funky packaging. Inspired by the diner culture of the west coast of America and old school Italian valley cafes, their Canton location serves epic breakfasts, lunch, sweet treats, and quality coffee with epic tunes.
The best coffee shop in Cardiff! The top 3 best espresso’s I’ve ever had in my life. After traveling for the last decade around America, Europe and the Middle East, the Kenyan kaguyu AA was extracted perfectly from Hardlines cafe in Cardiff. Often having taste notes such as blackberry, treacle and hibiscus you often don’t taste that and usually quite disappointed as you drink a bitter/ sour espresso…. But the description is bang on perfect as the flavors explode in your mouth with perfect sweetness and taste balance. It’s exactly what it says it is. I ordered a second literally instantly because of how good this tasted. It has reinvented the idea in my mind of what a good espresso tastes like. The culture is humble - kind, loving and caring. Being the best espresso - a kind culture and workers that are willing to discuss and open about their extracting process is rare. They’ve done a great job at making it all about quality without snobbery. A welcoming and enjoyable environment to be apart of and glad that I was able to experience it for a moment. (Apologies for the half eaten food pic) but it was too good to wait. A very generous amount of food for a great price - especially in this economic climate. I had a breakfast bun - a bun as soft as a cloud and filling for such a good price. You have to come here. It was worth the 3.5 hour drive alone just for the espresso on the flight I bought. Fire merch - fire food - exquisite espresso - phenomenal customer service. Go here asap!!

Bill's Cardiff Bay Restaurant is a contemporary European chain offering separate menus for breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant is pet-friendly, allowing well-behaved, leashed pets to sit beside their owners indoors or at outdoor tables with a special dog menu. For diners, there are options like buttermilk pancakes, avocado toast on sourdough, crispy calamari, truffled chicken as well as vegetarian and vegan choices.
We called in here for lunch following a walk around the Bay. The service was excellent from every colleague that engaged with us. They offered recommendations and all seemed very happy. It was a scorching day outside and they even came and offered us a move to a table in the shade when they could see we were struggling with the heat 🥵 The food choices across the menu were very good. Lots to choose from depending on how you feel. The specials menu was also available with some other options. Music playing at a low level, almost the perfect volume to support the atmosphere. The only negative about the visit was the fact that we were asked five times about allergies. Whilst I get that this is important..they need to have a process to ask once..five times became borderline frustrating..that being said, other than this, the service was excellent. We were very happy with our choice to eat at Bill’s. I would highly recommend this place if you are passing and looking for some food or drink.

What?! A one star review for Bill's at Cardiff Bay? Let me explain. My reviews are personal to my first visit to any venue. Although I like to have a laugh 😃 I take this seriously so I devised a set of rules to guide me on my way. The first rule of my review strategy is don't talk about my review strategy..... sorry... I was confusing my rules with Fight Club's rules. I always tell peeps that I'm there to write a review and to ask permission to take some piccies. Nearly all say that's okay. I ordered my latte and was informed it would be on the house. I refused and told matey his offer of a freebie could be seen as a bribe. He laughed and insisted that I accept, despite my protestations. Big mistake Bill's of Cardiffio Bay. You were warned. They served my latte in a glass receptacle, another no no in my book. I have been told by others that lattes should be served in a glass, I don't care, don't serve me mine in something see through. The swirly was a bit half-bottomed (cleaned that one up) and to cap it all the coffee wasn't that good anyhoo. I noticed there were few punters around, perhaps they heard I was coming? Perhaps everyone else hates their latte being served in a glass? There's a million and five reasons why the place was relatively empty, draw your own conclusions, or make something up. I've visited Bill's in Gloucester on more than one occasion and thoroughly enjoyed the experience each time. I ain't going back to Bill's in the Bay. Coffee shops - no freebies please - you have been warned.

Been there with hubby and our daughter on Bank Holiday. Really good atmosphere and even though it was busy, they had plenty of sitting area. Kids eat for free which is great and they also have a separate menu for children with plenty options. We had BBQ bourbon burger which hit the spot ! As a dessert we tried their pancakes 🥞 Staff were nice, friendly and very helpful. Will definitely visit again when we will be in Cardiff ! Thanks to the team and kitchen :)

My husband and I visited Bill’s for a late breakfast/brunch today. We were seated outside in the terrace where we were able to bask in the sunshine. The breakfast menu is superb and seems to cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. The pricing is very reasonable. Service was excellent. The full breakfasts my husband and I ordered were tasty and extremely filling. We can happily recommend Bill’s and will definitely visit again.

This is a great restaurant. I went here to celebrate my wedding anniversary and had such a lovely evening. The staff were so lovely, and they made us feel welcome. I had the buttermilk chicken burger, which is really nice. I've had it before, so I knew it was a good choice. But it was the first time we'd tried the salted caramel and chocolate brownie pot. It's one of the cheapest desserts on the menu, but it doesn't dissapoint. It is so rich and delicious. It was the first time I had been to this branch of Bill's, having previously gone to the one in Central Cardiff. And I will definitely go to the Cardiff Bay branch again. Thanks to the staff for making our evening special.

We visited for breakfast, it was fairly busy when we arrived but we were seated straight away. We were asked for drinks order before we even sat down, in hindsight I wish I'd asked for more time to look at the menu as I'd have chosen something different. But thats our error. We ordered our food and it came after about 20mins. I had some hash brown sides which were nice, they were crispy and it was a good sized portion. We ordered eggs benedict and eggs royal between us. It was ok but the muffins would have been better toasted. Only one egg on each plate was runny yolk but there was plenty of ham/salmon and loads of the sauce. I had some excess liquid on my plate, which I wasnt sure what from, I assume water from the egg and it had made part of my muffin so soggy I couldn't eat it and for the price we paid those things were a bit dissapointing but overall it was ok.

Had an amazing breakfast at Bill’s Cardiff Bay and honestly, it exceeded expectations! The place has such a cool and relaxed vibe — perfect for a slow morning by the bay. The breakfast was delicious — portions were generous, and the menu had a wide variety of options for everyone, from the classic English breakfast to lighter and veggie choices. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The staff were absolutely lovely — friendly, attentive, and just genuinely good energy all around. Big shout out to Gabriel!! It’s one of those places where you can sit, enjoy your food, chat, and not feel rushed at all. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone visiting Cardiff Bay or looking for a great breakfast with great vibes.

Had a fantastic experience at the restaurant and bar, such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Huge shout-out to Callun, Louis, Cloudia, El, Basam, and Liv for their outstanding service. One team member, in particular, stood out, he was rushing around with so much energy and even joked, ‘I’m not in the rhythm yet!’ Despite that, he was incredibly hard-working, kind, and friendly. The whole team made the place feel warm and vibrant. A memorable visit!

Quite expensive given the steak wasn’t cooked to our requirements (asked for medium-rare, received medium-well). Waitress was very attentive but there wasn’t enough staff so service was slow. Given the very limited menu I would expect better quality food.

Not many breakfast options (I really suggest to add some locally specific items) but food quality is guaranteed. Love their hash browns and pastries!

This restaurant is attached the the Cardiff Hilton so the prices are geared towards those staying at the hotel. I ate here two nights in a row, the first was steak which was good by British standards (although doesn't compare to an Omaha steak for example) and the second was the lobster club which was really epic, maybe the best thing I have eaten in a restaurant in the U.K.

Travelled about 5 miles to get to this café and it was well worth it £5.95 for a large breakfast comes with a tea. Unbelievable Price, breakfast was boiling hot, not like most cafe Definitely recommend it to my mates🎅

Waste of money and Cheats. Ordered 2 double and 1 full breakfast for takeaway, the bill was supposed to be £17:15 but was told £20 which I paid. Got home and to my amazement, it was only 1 sausage in total out of 5 sausages that was ordered. Called to tell them about my displeasure and the lady at the counter excuse was that it’s a new chef in the kitchen. Most of the food was soggy and ended up in the bin. So much for wanting to patronise your local business.

Elmer's is unmatched for value and service. I don't think the prices have risen there since 2010. Cost of Living Crisis who? The people working here go out of their way to provide the best service and make you feel welcome. I can't thank them enough for the many times I've gone in hungover and they've sorted me out. This cafe is a pillar of the community and I hope that students and locals alike continue to support it.

Cardiff's best breakfast place, I'm lucky to have such a great and affordable breakfast next to my student house. I used to pack one for lunch when I was writing my dissertation. The staff are very kind and the quality of the breakfast is very good.

The lady who took my order was very friendly, service was prompt, and the food. Wow. I had the double breakfast, and it was amazing. The food was fresh, and it was quality. The only criticism I have is towards myself for not visiting this place sooner!

As many of my reviews will show - I do like a cafe and a cooked breakfast, so I’m not sure how I’ve managed to miss this place for so long. Staff are next level friendly and chatty and the food was superb. I was barely sat down with my coffee in the covered garden area before my breakfast was in front of me, cooked perfectly and piping hot. This is really straightforward cafe food cooked superbly with fresh ingredients. The prices are also startlingly good value, both for the quality and quantity but also compared to others in the Cardiff area. Definitely worth popping in if passing or making a trip for.

We went there for a real British food experience, and it was brilliant! The staffs were very nice and kind to us. They even offer double/mini/vegetarian(which is the one we took) options as well. With the jacket potato, you can order different toppings. Every single menu is made with a lot of efforts, thus they’re all so yummy. When I ordered the chocolate milkshake, a gentleman who served it asked me if it was sweet enough, which was very considerate thing to do. No wonder why this places is always full of people! Thank you so much for our very pleasant experience (: definitely recommend it both for the locals and visitors in Wales!

Excellent service, great outdoor seating, nice food. What more can you ask for? When I am in Cardiff again, I would want to go there. The staff was the best. They took so much care in getting everything just right, came and asked questions and gave options. And showed patience with me, I ask a lot of questions. It was a wet day and they set up another table for us under the awning. We took our time to eat and hang out. They didn't try to rush us at all. Lovely place. I forgot, reasonable prices. Loved the latte there.

In the evening, it transforms into a relaxed bar serving wines by the glass and cheese platters made on the owner's family farm in Anglesey.
I love this place!! Super cute and amazing salad. My go-to order is the small salad which is £8.5. Which I think the portion is pretty much. They always have nice selection of salad, taste so good!! 100% recommend

Traditional lobscouse with toast seems like a normal dish but this was the first time i have Welsh cuisine. Lobscouse taste great and the beef in it was very tender, with the crunchy toast it was amazing. The chicken ciabatta was tasty with the sauce too it was a pity for the chicken was a bit rough(i prefer thigh than breast). The little pastry that i didnt know the name was crunchy and buttery with lightly touch of cinnamon match perfectly with the cappuccino! Love it!

Have thought long and hard about leaving a bad review for a small local business. I bought a salad for 9 quid. It was not much bigger than a side salad. It was vegetables and pasta. The mark up on this would have been a lot. When I asked the guy if this was a normal size he said - ‘yeah there’s quite a lot in there.’ I’m sorry but you should know your metrics and not guess what’s fair - making it right wouldn’t have cost a lot. I felt dismissed and insignificant as a customer. Why would I come back again. Shame as we are a local family.

Today I have just spoken to the staff here. I was told that the source of eggs are from a farm! No wonder why the eggs are so fresh. The staffs here are nice and the food is great. The portion is bigger than other restaurants. I usually order eggs on toast because the scramble egg is made quite soft and ‘juicy’. My friend usually orders full breakfast. Despite the portion is big, the hash brown is crispy but it is soft and smooth inside.

My favourite cafe in Cathay's. The decor is so cute, the food bangs and there's plenty of choice. The atmosphere is really chill, it's a good place to use the WiFi and get some uni work done, or catch up with friends. Amazing service. Gentleman at front of house was a really nice guy. We had English breakfast which I really liked. I wasn’t fussed on the bacon but that was self preferences. The eggs Benedict with bacon was amazing. Sauce wasn’t as flavoursome but still good. They had a bueno latte which was beautiful as you’d expect! All round great place to have breakfast looking forward to going back.
Iestyn J — Google review
Unfortunately I can't leave a good review and I won't be returning as the pizza base that was advertised as 'hand stretched' dough was a premade (likely frozen) base that was crispy and hard to cut through, but with an oddly chewy texture. Once it had cooled down slightly is was very tough and pieces could snap in half. If it had been made with fresh dough it would have been a 10/10 pizza as the toppings were very generous. The staff were friendly and efficient and there was a nice, relaxed atmosphere. However, being charged £13 for a premade pizza base (and the false advertising) is ridiculous. In hindsight I wish I had made the staff aware and changed my order; however, I was with friends who will be moving abroad soon and I didn't want to spoil one of my last visits with them, or waste time potentially arguing with the staff.

First time being here and will definitely be back if I’m in the area again! The staff are lovely and the food is absolutely delicious! The vibe and atmposphere is very warm and lovely as well! I would definitely recommend!

Sorry to say but this has to be one the worst breakfasts I've eaten in a very long time.... I really don't understand what happened. Was it a bad day or is this the usual food served here? Meal ordered:- The £11.50 large breakfast. The sausages were cheap tasting. They definitely weren't anything close to good quality. The eggs were over done and extremely greasy. The bacon was, well, it was so dry it cracked when trying to cut it, and the whole plate was swimming in oil. It was so bad I couldn't eat much of it. I'm afraid this place is over-hyped, its not value for money and neither is the food that good. I wouldn't recommend for breakfast. Sorry.

Visited here for the first time whilst on holiday in Cardiff and it was one of the best cooked breakfasts I’ve ever had! Staff were friend and the whole restaurant was lovely. I am particularly grateful at the lovely staff who looked after my bag that I left behind and packaged it up and helped send it back to me! Would highly recommend 😊

Really nice little cafe, not too busy on a Sunday afternoon and service was friendly without the, "hey guys everything okay?" every 20 minutes. I had a wrap and chose the side salad over chips, the dressing in the side salad was really tasty and my wrap was properly full. Peach ice tea tasted like a proper peach tea rather than a peach syrup concoction. Good selection of drinks in the fridge (was excited to see glass bottles of pop!) as well as hot drinks and smoothies on offer. My friend and I shared a slice of pistachio cake after and that was really tasty, too. Keen to come back and try a breakfast ☺️

Busy but brilliant. Warm welcome, choice of seats and choice of fresh breakfast!

Prices have increased quite a bit, the food quality has dipped considerably. Had the sausage egg and chips, the chips were just cremated oven chips, sausages were definitely cooked and the eggs were solid (no dipping allowed). The milkshake made with ice cream was warm and tastes like banana but wasn’t great at all for the price paid. The smoothie was just watered down flavour. Very disappointing, next time will go to Toby carvery for a cheaper better breakfast. Do not recommend unfortunately.

Very welcoming cafe. Looked perfect for what we were after. Modern but with a traditional twist. Good size menu. Not bad but something wasn't quite right....coffee was a little cold, maybe the plates were too big but it looked like they were trying fill the plate and so spread the food out. Would recommend dropping the paninis and going for pancakes or waffles for the sweet tooths...not bad but didn't match up to expectations.

Great location for city centre! Short walk from everything central. Lovely rooms, spacious and comfy beds but would usually expect a bigger bed than a double in a 4* hotel but other than that it was very comfy. There was a door which was locked which must lead to the room next door and when the people staying in that room got back at 3am it was like they were in our room, we could hear every word they were saying so walls must be v thin or at least through that door. Staff nice and breakfast was just ok - would stay again but not for more than one night :)
Charlotte W — Google review
I have to say that my recent experience at this hotel was nothing short of appalling. From the moment I interacted with Ross on the night desk, it became clear that he is completely ill-equipped to handle the role he has been given. His attitude was not only passively aggressive but also dismissive, unhelpful, and frankly, incompetent. It is astonishing that someone with such a lack of professionalism and basic customer service skills could be trusted to manage the front desk during any shift, let alone the night shift when guests are most vulnerable to needing assistance. To make matters worse, the security guard on duty was no better—completely cut from the same cloth. Rude, unapproachable, and utterly disinterested in helping guests, he only added to what quickly became one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. At no point did I feel like a valued guest; instead, I was made to feel like an inconvenience for simply expecting the minimum level of courtesy and professionalism. While this hotel may be inexpensive, that should never justify such shocking behavior or such a lack of basic service standards. Cheap rates do not excuse rudeness, incompetence, or an environment that makes paying customers feel unwelcome and unsafe. I will never stay at this hotel again and strongly advise anyone considering it to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other hotels that understand the meaning of customer service and guest care. Do yourself a favor and avoid what was, for me, a horrific and deeply disappointing experience.
Nick D — Google review
A lovely hotel situated in Cardiff City Centre. The room was spacious and of a high quality and the staff were very pleasant. There is no on-site parking, but there are several car parks in the area.
Kevin C — Google review
Hotel was very good although the room was small. The one thing we were very disappointed in was the size of the bed. It appeared to only be a standard 4'6" bed - we are used to a 5' King size bed and as a result, we didn't sleep very well, as we were afraid of falling out. Such a pity as, otherwise, we were very happy with the cleanliness, food and location. Would definitely recommend that you replace those small beds with at least King size beds, for comfort.
Julie M — Google review
Nice location and breakfast buffet. Sadly goes down hill quickly. Older property in decline. Elevator out of service, ice machines don’t work, rooms humid and stuffy. Staff clearly don’t care when issues reported. Many better hotels close by. Best to avoid.

While stopping at the nearby hotel, I decided that rather than driving back into Cardiff, I'd have my evening meal at this restaurant along with my wife and our 4-legged companion. I tried calling the restaurant, but no one picked up. I walked over to the restaurant to make sure they allowed dogs. The car park was almost empty, as was the restaurant. I waited by the reservations desk for almost 5 minutes while the staff walked about and chatted. Eventually, after a large group walked in, the member of staff finally came over. I asked if they allowed dogs. NO, only service or guide dogs. Personally, I don't see the difference. I asked why this branch didn't allow them, and all I received was "because it does." Thanks for clarifying. In the end, I visited another restaurant and spent nearly £50 and the staff made a fuss of my well-behaved companion.

Bron was our server and she was friendly, quick and really thoughtful with her help. It was super busy but all the staff were whizzing round doing a great job serving people as quickly as possible. The food was coming out the kitchen super regularly and the manager was even helping serve the food when needing an extra pair of hands on the food serving area to speed things along all whilst juggling being on top of front of house and everything else, not too mention his customer service welcome was spot on! The food was nicely cooked, hot and fresh. Only a small note to improve things, the ladies toilets had run out of toilet paper which could have been awkward but thankfully wasn't. The toilets were clean just needing more paper. All in all a satisfying Toby Carvery experience!

The effort and dedication of the staff here deserve to be recognized. Day in and day out, they work tirelessly to serve great food with limited resources, often without the pay or support they truly deserve. The head chef recommends the popular Smothered Platter, while dessert options like Jam Roly Poly or Triple Chocolate Brownie are not to be missed.
I've had Sunday dinner there a couple of times and have had a good experience. Service is excellent and friendly, food is good and it's a nice looking but quite informal place. Around Sunday lunchtime there tends to be a fair few children around, but they've seemed well behaved so would be a good place for a family meal. Prices are reasonable, and they have a good range of beverages both alcoholic and not. There's a bit of outdoor seating too, which is nice when the weather is good. Will certainly return again in the future.

Walked in to be greeted by a young man who told us we could sit anywhere and then rudely approached by who I can only guess was the manager, who spoke rudely to the younger worker for not seating us. Starters arrived, good, liked the refillable drinks. We were sat next to a large kids that was quite loud, despite the place not being busy. However I get that the staff cannot control the noise of the kids. Food arrived, no peppercorn sauce on the receipt after ordering. Eggs for the gammon steak were deep fried in fat and overdone with eggshell, covered in oil - as was the gammon due to the oil from the eggs. I forgot to order a meal, they said they would check if the chef could make this and would let us know (the kitchen had closed). We shared meals and became full and the meal then arrived without them informing us that it would. Almost £90 for 4 people!! Would not return anytime soon.

Went here whilst staying at Premier Inn South . Popped in for coffee on the first night , coffee was ok but table was really sticky felt like would take the table with me when I stood up to go ! All you can eat breakfast was exceptionally good value and was really good. Dinner , again good , but a few issues like no peppercorn sauce available, no bottled water , beautifully cooked steak !! Gents toilet , the floor was stickier than the tables .. no idea why .. but ? Biggest issue is the staff , although pleasant and attentive, not dealing with rowdy idiots whilst people want to eat . By 8.30 the restaurant was empty , I think due to one really loud rowdy table , it certainly put us off of staying . With all the signs around that this kind of behaviour would not be tolerated .. it was . If you want to attach this to a hotel treat it like a hotel restaurant not a bar for those who clearly can't handle their drinks

On leaving Cardiff that morning for Swansea we thought we would give Brewers Fayre a go. Nicely situated just out of Cardiff and easy to get to we went for a breakfast. Quite a busy little place but as it is adjacent to a Premier Inn that is the reason mainly . As what seems to be the normal now, you have to input your vehicle reg into the console upon entry. We paid £17.99 for an unlimited breakfast & a continental breakfast. Along with the cooked breakfast, you had choices of cereal, toast and yoghurt. The bacon was nice but the eggs were swimming in liquid and trying to actually get one one your plate was like a Fisherman trying to land a catch.... It just kept sliding off the slice utensil everytime. Only the bacon & beans were edible so didn't really entice me to benefit from the unlimited part. The 2 bowls of Kellogs cereal had to surfice. Also there was only plain Greek yoghurt, no other flavours so I suppose the bowl of fruit provided next to them was the 'flavoured' bit option. Nice atmosphere in the dining area and the staff friendly but the food isn't quite as it should be. Can't comment on other food options later in the day so hopefully better

Disco club
Pulse is a vibrant gay nightclub located in Cardiff, United Kingdom. It offers themed nights and showcases performances by top artists. During the day, it operates as a cafe-bar. The club is known for its diverse clientele and LGBTQ-friendly atmosphere. On Saturdays, Pulse features renowned DJs while Sundays are reserved for drag brunches. The venue also serves excellent food throughout the day and hosts student-friendly events with affordable drink deals on certain nights.
Overall amazing club but this was the bouncers faults. 3 men followed my 2 friends after a night out and we had just met my 2 friends after being in a different club and these men followed us from the top of queen st to pulse. I told these men multiple times to leave my friends alone as they were uncomfortable and not interested as they both had partners and my friends told me they had been grabbing onto them and not leaving them alone. Got to pulse and I told the bouncers “please do not let these men in, they’ve been following my friends and I and we don’t know them” He then said “why are you smirking”? i had a smirk to ensure my safety incase the bouncers wouldn’t of done anything so the men wouldn’t of targeted us more for getting help n making it seem jokey to them as I was hoping the bouncers could’ve sorted the situation. He then ignored me and didn’t allow us in. I then said “I’m not lying they were following us around, I don’t know these men”. The bouncer said “if you can lie about that god forbid what else you can lie about” I’m not sure what type of accusations you get often but you could tell these men were guilty of their actions as they walked away very quickly. One of my friends was grabbed by the men to walk with them, which the bouncer did not see. And instantly the bouncer decided that I was lying because of it. How can you assume anyone to make such serious accusations especially if you’re not understanding the whole situation. The bouncer then said he’s got sisters to help understand? Surely if you had sisters you’d take the side of the victim? This happened 2/11/24

Absolutely disgusting service, got refused entry because my straight friend (I’m gay) stated he wasn’t gay when they specifically said it was a gay bar. Owner proceeded to use foul language and call us names after purely stating it wasn’t an all inclusive place and that the atmosphere wasn’t worth it if they were going to decline people for simply not being gay and having gay friends. Disgusting and horrible behaviour from all staff involved. Doesn’t deserve a licence, a name or a reputation.

No longer a safe space for queer people. Expect to get assaulted if you're a female, and expect the staff to do absolutely nothing about it or better yet, it be the staff that ruin your night by being openly hostile. Would feel safer in a straight club now, which is saying something. A shame that it seems that money comes before looking after your clientele.
Rebecca J — Google review
At the entry to the club there is no information that downstairs dance floor is closed for refurbishment. After paying we realised that and wanted to leave. But the staff refused to refund our entry payment. Overall, terrible customer care and attitude!

Went last night just before 3, wasn’t allowed in because of my joggers. I know full well this place doesn’t have a dress code. Was told all clubs have dress codes (bollocks) absolutely appalled as all my friends got in and I had to go home. Totally ruined my night and quite frankly the bouncers are an absolute disgrace. I have since checked and I cannot find any evidence of a so called dress code. And mind you there were people there wearing far worse outfits than me (onesie’s, miniskirt and I think I even saw a tutu) absolute disgusted by this completely ruined my night, I’m still so upset over the way I was treated, and frankly a disgrace doesn’t even begin to it to describe it. I want to know why I was clearly discriminated against, for what I have no idea. But your website says “fancy dress encouraged” and like I said I saw far worse.

My mate brought me here for my birthday, good overall place. Music and atmosphere, air-conditioning is a bonus. As ex club and bar staff, I was very confused as to why all the bar staff here. consistently double charge everyone for a dash in shorts. How do you have a two dashes in a half pint glass with ice and a vodka? Over charging the consumers is a no no. once I pointed this out, The one woman had a face of disgust and didnt want to deal with me. And another guy decided to put soda water in our drinks. Very disappointed first experience.
Craig W — Google review
I didn't appreciate the door staff accusing me of starting a fight with my best friend and giving me a final warning when I've only been to the venue ONCE until close, so it was very degrading being told I had been kicked out when I was not. Additionally I was given no reason, evidence or proof to why I had a final warning, so unless you actually have evidence don't point fingers at random people... That's just unprofessional as a business and in that case, no wonder your venue has 3 stars... Reading past reviews I've seen alot of people have problems with the door staff and management... so as a suggestion in the future please hire more professional door staff and get new management, or take a photo of the offending people, not to jump to conclusions so you don't mix up it up with other people and say the wrong thing! This has really affected me as a gay person who felt safe in Pulse during the one night I was there.

Thomas Restaurant in Cardiff Bay offers a delightful Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea experience, featuring an array of delectable finger sandwiches, homemade cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam, and bottomless Prosecco for up to 2 hours. For those seeking vegan options, the restaurant serves homemade plant-based dishes using locally sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy a vegan breakfast, brunch, lunch or evening dinner.
I was one of many celebrating n 18th birthday recently with a Sunday lunch at the Cardiff Bay branch. I have to say the service, especially from Diane, Mathew and Nico (manager) was excellent! Both quick and efficient. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and the quality food was excellent as usual and the prices provided very good value for money. Highly recommended.

I wanted to try authentic Welsh cuisine, and this restaurant popped up during a search. It had good reviews, so I thought I'd pay a visit. First impressions weren't entirely positive. It wasn't busy at all, and the manager just appeared to ignore me. A waiter from the bar turned up a short while later and seated me. Then I had to wait a while for the same waiter to take my order for the drinks and since I had already waited a while, I ordered the food at the same time. This is where the restaurant really shined. Every meal was well seasoned and cooked. I absolutely adorned the Lamb Cawl, it was bursting with flavour. Though I wasn't too big a fan of the starter and pudding, that was more to do with my tastes than the quality of the food. The menu is fairly small, which is usually a good thing in my experience but something to bear in mind for those who you who like a more extensive choice.

Shared another amazing birthday lunch in the Thomas restaurant inside Future Inns Cardiff. Thank you to all the staff who couldn’t do enough to help make it such a special occasion. Food, service and atmosphere were perfect. Special mention to Diane, Mathew and their manager Nolito as they were all amazing. Thank you

The food was tasty. We opted for the set menu, but my partner wished there was a little more choice on the menu. The waiter had started doing our drinks, then showed us to our table but appeared to forget our drinks and went on to serve others. They took our cutlery when they cleared our starters and forget to give us some for our main course. The waitress was friendly. Overal, the experience was good and the food tasted fresh. Forget to get pictures of our desserts, we were just keen to eat them.

Cafe 37 is a great place to have breakfast with your partner. There are several delicious options available, and the service is always friendly and helpful. The food is also scrumptious, and it's great value for money.
Me and my bf decided to eat here as we were staying in an Airbnb on the same street as this cafe. We were very impressed with the range of options they offered. We got the Avocado Sourdough Bread and some sides of a sausage, hash brown and black pudding (Please note not there is two avocado and egg bread pieces. Just one is pictured in the photo). We came back here the second day here for a bigger breakfast this time and got the Smoked Salmon Toast and the Chocolate Chip Pancake Stack. I was very impressed with food, and how friendly the staff were. Would definitely come again.

This is by far my favourite place to have brunch in Cardiff!! I'm only living here for a few months so I had originally planned to try as many new places as I can but Cafe 37 won me over right away and I won't go anywhere else. The food is delicious (I highly recommend the eggs benny with smoked salmon!) and their smoothies are just as good. It's pretty cheap, service is fast, and the staff are so so friendly. I will miss this place a lot when I leave!! Please do yourself a favour and check it out!!

Imagine a hotel breakfast buffet. That's the best way I can describe Cafe 37. It's super cheap and you get huge portions but the food itself isn't the best tasting. It's not bad but it definitely won't blow you away. The restaurant itself is very cute ambience was well built with the music and signage on the walls. It's an order at counter type of restaurant from what I gathered so don't bother waiting for table service. The coffee was also the cheapest I've found in Cardiff so far for just £2.5 for a cappuccino. The venue was clean and the food came fast. Don't expect five star quality food but for the price it's definitely worth it. I spent £12.5 on my meal and it was huge.

Excellent value cafe, just note that it's cash only (I don't know if this is temporary or permanent). They will pop your order through first and allow you to go and get cash, easiest is across the road at tesco. Went with a friend, she had a full builders breakfast for only £5 as it was ordered before 10.30am. I had brioche french toast with strawberries and banana. I asked if I could have some scrambled eggs on the side, no issue. The food was gorgeous, soft and really thick bread full of flavour, topped with icing sugar. Also had a chocolate orange milkshake which was really strong as well and lovely. Lovely staff in the cafe, great service and very chatty. Happy to help. Seems to be a little hidden gem of a cafe, we'd not visited before. We were actually due to attend a different cafe for breakfast but arrived to find it closed so went here instead which seemed to be a major upgrade anyway we were well pleased with our visit. Loads of variety on the menu, can't wait to go back.

Ramon's Breakfast and Burger Bar is a popular spot located in the heart of a student area, known for serving up generous portions of classic dishes. The cafe boasts an extensive breakfast menu, including their claim to fame - the UK's 'biggest breakfast' featuring an impressive array of items. Visitors praise the warm welcome, varied menu, and friendly service at this establishment. While some note minor cleanliness issues, many rave about the delicious food, such as the fish & chips and French toast.
Ramon's serves a fantastic breakfast! The sausages are flavorful, the bacon perfectly cooked, and the hash brown golden and crispy. The poached eggs are spot on, and the buttery toast, baked beans, and tomato complete the plate beautifully. A hearty, delicious start to the day!

On the outside it looks a bit dark and not as open as cafe 37. We went inside and was greeted by some lovely lad. We chose to sit outside out the back. It was lovely and bright and good atmosphere. Really charming. I ordered the Mexican burger and my gf ordered a build your own breakfast. Food arrived quite quick and lovely staff as usual. The breakfast: Sausage was good, bacon was a bit salty but average really. Mushrooms were delicious and black pudding was good. Mexican Burger: When the menu said it came with salad and chips I thought it meant a side salad. However the salad was in the burger. Not a problem but wasn't expecting cucumber in my burger. Picking up the burger the cucumber and tomatoes slipped right out the bottom. The bottom was wet. I left the salad out and tried again but the burger was just slipping around from wetness and sauce I guess. I ended up using knife and fork and the taste was actually very nice. The Mexican sauce has a little kick. The burger was cooked well with a good taste. Was a thick burger too not some thin cheap rubbish. Shame the bottom bun had gotten wet and soggy. But overall enjoyed the actual taste. The chips that came with the burger were just your average cafe chips. Nothing to write home about. The price for the food was really good though. And the staff are always really happy and welcoming, with the outside being so bright and lovely.

A close love one of mine’s favourite hobby is complaining, moaning about it and venting; whether its nepotism in his work place, shady business practices or Health and Safety advisor dodging blatant problem of asbestos in his work environment. But one thing he did not complain about, the food at Ramon’s and I agree with him. He was just chowing it down as he goes on and on about health protocols being broken in his company whilst me and my partner were chowing down on our own big breakfasts. Recommend this place if you a good breakfast that you can just eat whilst you complain about your life.

Warm welcome. Clean tables. Varied menu. Friendly service. Food was delicious. Fish &chips- although the fish batter looked darker than we expected it tasted delicious and the portion size for the price was excellent value. Ramones breakfast - again delicious but meat could have been a little warmer. French Toast - super sweet fresh and the eggs with it were outstanding. Loved the beans were proper heinz. Floor needed a dam good sweep and mop. Short 20 min wait for food. Well worth the price. Will return.

Baked potato, tuna mayo and salad.....tiny spud, suspiciously like a microwave job and dry.....salad looked like it was from a tesco packet, tuna mayo ok but measley. And not hot. Omlette and chips....omlette like rubber, chips were cold and hard...like partly defrosted frozen that had been recooked..again salad from a pack I suspect. Cash only which is ok but had to leave the cafe and go to cash point so we able to pay I am all for keeping cash but I think the option should be available.. Little customer service....we were hoping staff would ask how the food was or something as we couldnt eat much of it, but they avoided our afforts to get their attention so we left without a thank you or a goodbye from either party.

The soup is delicious as usual. We ordered two because it’s our favourite, with two breakfasts. But today the soup was served in a small bowl, much less than it used to be. I raised the issue and they said they would serve another portion of soup despite claiming that’s what they were trained to (serve in a small bowl and they don’t know it was served in a large bowl before). Since then no addition soup, no one bother to ask us, when we were sitting there almost 30 mins after we finished our lunch. This is not the way you do business. Let alone in service industry you broke your promise don’t care about your customers. This is the basics.

Me and my mother came here for a hot dog once. We got hot dogs and tea. Sat together at one of the tables. It was chilly, we were bundled up in nice coats. Just me and my Mummy having food together. So precious. That day, neither of us knew that she had terminal cancer. It was our last day out together and one of the last meals we shared. She died, unexpectedly, several months later. I’m really grateful for that moment. We didn’t eat together alone very often due to me living far away. There’s something so simple about a hot dog and tea in a paper cup in the street. We could have gone anywhere we wanted, but we chose there. Maybe because laughing over mustard on our faces and feeling the weather together was more special. Thank you for holding that moment <3

Stopped by here on a day out in Cardiff in the afternoon. The prices were very reasonable considering it’s in the heart of the city centre and there’s a good selection of food to choose from. A proper cafe that doesn't try to be pretentious. The food is really tasty and the prices are very reasonable. I had the large breakfast and it's really was large. The breakfast was not the best by far and for the price compared to many others very poor. Boiled mushrooms a thin piece of black pudding, very tight. My son had a cheese burger and chips. Terrible, some skinny chips, a bare bun with a cheap dry burger. When he said he ordered a cheese burger, one of the waitresses brought over a piece of plastic cheese still in the plastic wrap. My son put it in the burger and because it was cold the cheese stayed cold, he had to leave it. I for one will never go to this place again.

Typical greasy spoon cafe. Price was OK, but the quality wasn't great. The woman taking orders at the counter should try learning some basic hospitality skills, like how important it is to greet customers and say 'thank you', instead of just grunting at them like they've disturbed her.

Found this place by accident and so glad we did. My granddaughter and I had a faultless lunch. My granddaughter, who is a tuna melt toastie expert, said it was the best one ever. In fact she had two! The dirty chips were amazing as well. The staff are so friendly and helpful, felt as if we knew them already. Thank you and we will be back soon.

Tuck in Cafe is a beloved gem nestled in Cardiff, renowned for its hearty breakfasts that have become a staple for locals and visitors alike. This charming eatery offers an impressive menu featuring both traditional English and Eastern breakfast options, all prepared right before your eyes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with friendly staff who make you feel like part of the family. Many patrons are regulars, drawn back by the generous portions and affordable prices.
Healthy, delicious and very clean food. The staff is great.

Lovely place for breakfast. We stayed in Cardiff over night for Depot in the castle and called in here on the way home after reading the comments. I had an omelette with salad and my daughter had a cooked breakfast. Good prices too.
Samantha H — Google review
Tuck in Cafe is hands down an outstanding location to get breakfast in the morning in canton, it's in an ideal location with various different shops nearby with plenty of parking within 5 minutes distance allowing for you to easily spend the day in canton without having to worry about parking. On the whole, would definitely go back next time I'm in canton.
Keiron C — Google review
Great food, and even better service. Got a full English with a coffee for £8, and both really nice. Just what we needed after a big night out!
Sam W — Google review
This is a cracking local cafe that does exactly what it says on the tin - breakfast and lunch with a lovely menu that is cooked almost on front of you! The food was great and came out piping hot and as can be seen from photos - portions are outstanding for the prices. The staff are lovely and judging by the conversations, many of the people coming here are regulars, which is not surprising for the welcome, quality and value for money.
Rhys P — Google review
I don't know why this place was recorded as permanently closed. I would be devastated if it was! So I reported this as incorrect, and now Google shows it as being open again. I've been coming here - with friends, colleagues and family for over 10 years. It's one of the few cafes who will happily swap something you don't like on the set menu, for something you do. If the owners are reading this - you'll hopefully know me, as I always have a large breakfast, and swap the black pudding for an extra hash brown. The staff are so lovely - especially Maria - so patient and calm even if a million things are happening at once. Amazing. The food is never swimming in grease - and it's never too dry - they cook bacon in a way that makes me drool and salivate with every bite! The whole plateful is just divine perfection. They seem to know exactly how I like my food (and that's always slightly overcooked). The coffee is pretty lush too - you don't get a skin on the top - it's a really nice blend. Oh - and the price is right too - I spent £13 on two meals and 3 cappuccinos. Look how much you get!!! But beware - this is a *very* popular cafe - if you don't time it right - you might have to wait for a table - but they'll squeeze you in somehow!

Fabulous cafe. Food was beautiful and for a fantastic price. Staff were really friendly and the portions generous. Will return 👍 Edit: We have returned and it was not a fluke - food and service was excellent again. It was also busy for all of the time we were there, which is well deserved.

The best breakfast all day! I had the delicious tender egg and fried mushroom toasties in the afternoon by the window, and felt so blessed with curing power. The owner is very kind and waitresses are super friendly :)

It might be my nostalgia affect my review here but, the taste and feel is like I'm back home The place is very authentic. Delicious food, amazing coffe and milkshakes. The only "issue" is the service was a little slow it was very busy so I can't fault them too much.
Natalija P — Google review
My first time visiting this restaurant but my friends have been many times. We ordered Monopoly Breakfast for one £9:95. Very good value for money. A pot of freshly brewed tea was really needed with that breakfast.
Emma M — Google review
Monopoly is a top-notch spot for a satisfying breakfast. The food is delicious, the staff are wonderful, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. After regular visits over the past year or more, we have become accustomed to the Monopoly breakfast and the vegetarian variant, and both never fail to meet expectations. The coffee, too, is without fault. But it's the whole package that makes the difference; the food, coupled with the service, coupled with the atmosphere. We always leave full, happy, and in no doubt we'll return.
Adam R — Google review
Fantastic food and really good service. Coffee is excellent, as was the veggie breakfast. Plenty of seats. Loads of wonderful pastries.
Ray O — Google review
The best Greek cafe in Cardiff! Beautifully decorated with attention to detail! My flat white was perfect, a great cup of coffee! The veggie breakfast is filling and tasty and the pastry was crispy and flavoursome. Service with a smile was much appreciated and we felt welcomed. Thank you for a fantastic brunch ❤️
Taslima A — Google review
Walked by but turned around and went in got a bite to eat. Lovely food and lovely staff and reasonable prices. I tried an English breakfast, a detox shake and ended uo getting cakes to take away too. All of which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will pop back to try some other treats the had available too
David M — Google review
Amazing food friendly staff and good prices for what you receive. Got the vegetarian breakfast and an iced coffee came to around £12 each, which I would say it pretty good. Food came promptly and tasted great.
