Located in Cheltenham, The Coconut Tree offers a cozy and brick-accented setting where guests can enjoy Sri Lankan street fare, along with a variety of beer and cocktails. The restaurant is known for its explosion of flavors in dishes featuring vegetables, meats, and fish, as well as sweet and fiery Cocotails. With a focus on vegan and vegetarian cuisine, the menu provides abundant options for all preferences.
Booked a table the other day at 8:15 then we was greeted by this lovely woman and she sat us at a table and made us feel welcome and comfortable and then explained the drinks to us. We then got greeted by this man who also made us feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. He explained the menu to us and we spoke about how we both have lion tattoos. The check backs were also amazing. Onto the food. The food was 10/10. We ordered lots of different things we’ve never tried before to expand our pallets and everything was so unique in flavour and different but it all went amazing together. I will definitely be coming back!!
Saphron G — Google review
Came here for my husband birthday. We were so surprise when they bought a free birthday dessert out, we didn’t told them it was my husband’s birthday, still surprised until now. Food was delicious, portion sizes are more like tapas, small plates to share. I do love the idea of that, I can try more different curries and dishes. My favourite was probably the mango curry and the roasted potatoes. If you order the ‘lion cup’ cocktail, you’ll get a ‘fire show’. It was so cool! Love the vibe of the place!! Was a bit sad that they ran out of calamari the day I visited, but I’ll take that as an excuse for me to definitely go back to try in the future.
Annabelle — Google review
3 of us came here for my friends birthday, having never been before and it exceeded our expectations. We loved the food, atmosphere, drinks... and I must say, the staff absolutely made it for us. Such a friendly, energetic bunch... We will definately be back, thank you for a very memorable evening x
Clare P — Google review
We’ve been here twice in one week and can’t wait to come back again. The food is incredible with great flavor. Drinks are creative and delicious. Service is helpful and atmosphere is loud and fun, but still allows you to have a conversation. We did the Can’t Decide option the first time we came and were impressed by all of the dishes (hopper, hot battered cauli, kotthu, black pork, chicken curry, Sri-tato, and rotti). The second time we tried the fish curry and pineapple curry. Not a single bad dish!
Brad — Google review
Had a wonderful lunch today in this restaurant. Re-kindled memories of my previous Sri Lankan meals years back. I ordered the 15£ set lunch. The service was very friendly and warm. I loved the Seeni and Coconut Sambol, the chicken curry was spicy as informed . The string hoppers were decent but I have eaten better string hoppers in the past. I was given some pineapple curry to taste. It was nice. Sweet and mildly spicy.
Prashant R — Google review
What a fun place to eat I strongly recommend it to everybody that's in the area. The decor is Fun the service is spot on and the food is absolutely delicious. What year was into the place was their menu they have clever names for their drinks and that's why we went there
Lorie T — Google review
Amazing food. Friendly staff. Nice greeting. Great service. Super value. Picking small dishes gave lots of options and was under £20 each with a drink.
Colin W — Google review
Loved it! Welcoming, relaxed vibes. Waiting staff warm and welcoming, food absolutely delicious. I'm vegan and the choice was fantastic, yet plenty for carnivores too. The cauliflower dish was to die for. I loved the decor, might B too rough and ready for ppl who want fine dining. A gem of a place 👏👏👏👏👏😎 👌🍲🫘🥗🥘

Lumiere is a stylish and contemporary restaurant located in the Regency district, offering modern British cuisine with a creative twist. The restaurant has gained recognition for its exceptional culinary offerings, earning the first Michelin Star in the county in over a decade.
What an incredible experience. We had the 8 course option with wine flight and from beginning to end it was stunning! Immensely clever and imaginative cooking. The service was delightful too. I honestly can't find a fault. Amazing!!
Tony H — Google review
This was my first Michelin experience, and it did not disappoint. We went for my chef husband’s birthday, and he spent the entire time in a state of bliss! He was so impressed by the flavors and ideas surrounding all the dishes. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere — I was honestly expecting pretentious nonsense, but it was the complete opposite. Insane creative high end food but in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The soft pairing (nonalcoholic) were superb, and all the staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. It’s obviously pricy with a Michelin rating, but if you’re looking for a flawless high end experience, this is the place to go!
Katherine B — Google review
Lovely spot! Had a fantastic meal at Lumière in Cheltenham-delicious tasting menu with fresh, local flavours. The atmosphere was cozy yet refined, and the price, while not insignificant, felt entirely justified for such a splendid experience. Would definitely go back in a heartbeat.
Amy — Google review
Had the eight course tasting menu between 6 for a birthday. The food was beautiful, the wine (particularly a white from Japan and a white burgundy) delicious and Matthew and his team took exceptional care of us all! Each course was perfectly crafted, but the more ravenous might want an extra portion of bread.
Hugo B — Google review
Lumiere was to be the highlight at the end of our trip to the Cotswold last month. Sadly this place disappointed on so many levels. As a regular to fine dining establishments, and the great reviews, we had very high expectations in a town known for great food. I will start at when we entered, first to arrive for the evening. We were shown to a table in the corner, furtherest away from the kitchen. Not the best table in the restaurant. When we asked if they had a better table, they said no. Well that’s not true, as we could over hear other guest getting a choice. The restaurant has no atmosphere, feels cold and lacks any ambience. 1/10 Thou the service was above average for a one star, it felt very robotic, with staff just providing a rehearsed script when explaining the dish. 5/10 As for the sommelier, he lack passion when attempting to explain the pairing to the dish. No attempt was given to explain why it was paired. Don’t get me wrong, the pairings were spot on, but a little more energy and explanation for it paring goes a long way. 2/10 Now for the food. The canapés on the whole weee good but nothing special. The Taramasalata, lemon and red pepper was beautiful to look at but bland and tasteless. The Measowlqnd Smoked Eel was amazing and is regarded as one of the chefs specially. We agree The Line Caught Cornish Day Boat Bass was another hit. The Bishops canning pork belly was a complete flop for us. The sweetcorn completely over powered the dish and pork belly was nothing to rave about. The Tequila Slammer cleanser was a hit, 10/10 for the theatrics and did what it was suppose to do. Bravo Overall, we rate the dishes 6/7 but the whole experience lacked what we expect from a one star.
Pesh — Google review
I went with my family for my birthday and had a great time. It’s a small, understated restaurant from the outside, with the only clue that you are about to enter the best fine dining restaurant in Cheltenham being the famous red plaque and white star sitting pride of place next to the sample menu. We had the 6 course menu which was full of dishes packed with exquisite flavours, all served with brilliant, friendly staff. The menus are on tablets, which I was a bit skeptical at first, but with them being left on the table it was great to read about all the detail that goes into the dishes and the origin for all the locally sourced produce, as you eat them. Would highly recommend it’s a real treat!
Oliver A — Google review
We went in for my husband's birthday. It's a lovely and small venue, but the service and food and drink quality was superb - well it's Michelin standard! We had some very interesting dishes, which we usually wouldn't go for, but they were all very good.
Yaran L — Google review
We dined here for my birthday on the 21st August. We had the 8 course tasting menu and it was incredible - highly recommend, can't wait to hopefully go back one day. The only dish we were not fans of was the canapé containing Stinking Bishop cheese but that's purely because we are not big cheese people, it was very strong but I'm sure delicious to the right people 😊 the raspberry dessert was divine and I would pay a lot of money just for the custard again! The sweetcorn dish with eel was another favourite which I'd have never thought would be. That's the beauty of a tasting menu as a fussy eater 🤗

Seafood restaurant
Modern British restaurant
Purslane Restaurant is a stylish and independent eatery located in Cheltenham, offering a relaxed fine dining experience with a focus on sustainably caught seafood. Chef patron Gareth Fulford leads the kitchen team in creating a creative menu that changes bi-monthly, incorporating locally sourced ingredients to craft inventive dishes. The restaurant's commitment to sustainability is evident in its exclusive use of fresh fish from small, inshore day-boat fishermen off the coast of Cornwall.
We reached a whole new level of indulgence tonight… what an incredible menu! The food was absolutely out of this world. While the ambiance could have been a bit more intimate, the music was great and the overall vibe was inviting and relaxed, not the least bit stuffy. The service team was warm and attentive, though a bit more confidence and finesse in presenting the new menu would elevate the experience even further. A little extra polish from the bartender (particularly around the wine pairings) would also bring it up to the level of a true Michelin experience. That said, everything else was divine. The meal was utterly glorious, and we’ll definitely be back!
Monarch S — Google review
An absolute amazement for tastebuds ! The menu has limited choices in order to provide the best quality of ingredients, the most amazing combinations of tastes, and arrangements on plates looking fabulous. I totally recommend it! The atmosphere is a bit religious, as Purslane is obviously a favourite for couples who speak quietly. Note as a slight minus that service is charged on top as a gratuity that does not seem as discretional as it says, as it is added to the bill. Given the price of the courses, 12% turn out to be a nice sum for waitering a small number of tables. I think I would prefer to give an extra to the kitchen, as it is where the magic happens. But let it not deter you from experiencing a festival of flavours !

Great experience, highly recommend a visit. Around £100 per person with wine. Front of house were great, explaining each meal and the service was amazing.

We had an amazing meal in lovely surroundings with great service. Yes the taster menu is expensive but it's worth every penny. Truly wonderful flavour and presentation.

Beautifully presented, tasty food. Efficient and helpful service. Delicious amuse bouches, great starters and good mains. Excellent dessert.

Excellent as usual. One of our favourite restaurants for lunch when in Cheltenham. Great seasonal lunch menu, enjoy the fact that it's different every time and we don't need to make a decision. Simple and elegant. Three courses for £28. Excellent food and service.
Kenneth W — Google review
We visited this restaurant on Thursday evening. Overall, the food quality was decent , not impressive, but not disappointing either. The menu choices were quite limited. We ordered the stone bass and the Cornish cod. I want to share a reminder for anyone visiting: there was a fish bone about 3-4 cm long in the stone bass, and it injured my friend while eating. I immediately showed the bone to the staff, but they simply took it away quickly without offering any apology or even asking if my friend was okay. It felt as if nothing had happened. I understand that stone bass naturally has bones, I would expect the chef to have the skills to remove them properly, or at the very least, for the staff to warn diners to be careful when serving the dish. When something like this does happen, the minimum I would expect is some concern for the customer’s safety and a simple apology. We did not complain or act rudely at all. We just felt disappointed by the lack of empathy and professionalism in their response. I hope anyone visiting in the future will be careful while eating, and I also hope the restaurant will take diners’ safety and dining experience more seriously.
Chan C — Google review
Went for the 7 course tasting with wine pairing - and the food was incredible. They accommodated us with a pescetarian tasting menu - switched the meat course for another fish course, which was much appreciated. The wines paired beautifully and you got to experience a lot from different countries. The ‘snacks’ were basically another course and the breads were fresh and warm. Really reasonable for a tasting menu of such high quality! Would definitely recommend!

Located in Cheltenham, 288 Bar & Wok offers a family-friendly dining experience with its long canteen-style tables and locally sourced produce. The venue provides an informal and fuss-free atmosphere, making diners feel at home as soon as they arrive. The menu features a wide variety of authentic Oriental dishes, including small plates, stir-fried noodles, barbecued meats, and homemade curries.
Tasty vegan food in Cheltenham! My tofu was masterfully prepared with a peppery sauce, on the right side of greasy. Despite being fried, tofu did not feel too oily or heavy. Highly recommend a stay sauce too. Friendly atmosphere, despite eating inon my own, I was made welcome and felt relaxed. Great place!

We loved the food and the kindness of the staff. This restaurant is perfect for kids and parents. The kids were given activities and candies, they drank for free because of easter event. We spent a great time. Thank you so much 288 bar & wok !
Caroline R — Google review
The Singapore noodles were amazing—full of wok hei and absolutely authentic, reminding me of home back in Hong Kong. The stir-fried vegetables were fresh and flavorful, especially with the sauce on top. The chicken katsu with lemon sauce was also delicious and perfectly cooked. Great flavors, cozy vibes, and a real taste of home (and reasonably priced). definitely coming back!
Vivian L — Google review
Lovely place with some yummy options, though it's hard to find anything that isn't sweet (which, I suppose, is kind of expected given the characteristic Chinese flavors 😅). First time around, my partner had the curry and i had the black bean sauce tofu mains with rice. I wasn't a fan of the curry (he was) but preferred the black bean dish. This time around, his parents had the sweet and sour (not my vibe, but very good) and the mushrooms and onions (very yummy and umami) and my partner had the kung pao (also sweeter than we'd expected) and I had the udon and dumpling soup. The soup was my favourite! We also had the sharing starters, which you'd love if you like a heavy fried starter. It pretty much filled us up before the big mains even came out 😅 A few of the orders were wrong so we got to take lots home. Good atmosphere and it gets very busy!
Hanne A — Google review
Great service and amazing food! Portions were huge for the price we paid we struggled to finish it all! Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back.
Robert C — Google review
I lived in Cheltenham for a number of years but never got to visit this place even after seeing their glowing reviews. After moving away and it being my birthday we thought it would be a prime time to visit. The restaurant was really clean and staff were amazing. We got served quickly and dishes came out super fast. Portion sizes were decent and really tasty. I wouldn’t think twice about coming back. After speaking with the owner and saying I was celebrating my birthday he offered me a complimentary birthday drink from the bar to takeaway. Lovely gesture and all in all i was very happy. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this restaurant. 5 *****
Ashley J — Google review
Easily our favourite place in Cheltenham. Delicious food, friendly staff and owner. Great value. Truly an institution. Can't recommend highly enough. Make sure to book at busy times, though. It's extremely popular—with good reason!
Sam O — Google review
The best the best the best. I make it my business to come here every time I'm in Cheltenham, the food is cooked with soul and has been consistently delicious for over a decade that I've been eating here. The tofu dishes and eggless fried rice are a vegan dream. You won't regret a trip here if you love top notch Chinese food! They're a wonderful addition to the food scene here and I hope to be eating my favourite dishes for many years to come. The black bean tofu is 100000/10 ⭐

Indian restaurant
Catering food and drink supplier
Bombay & Co is a family-run Indian restaurant located on Cheltenham's High Street. The restaurant draws inspiration for its menu and decor from the lively street food vendors of India's largest city, resulting in a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant has garnered praise for its fantastic food, friendly staff, and wonderful atmosphere. Visitors can expect an array of authentic Indian street food that sets it apart from traditional Indian curry houses.
We had a lovely Indian meal. Friendly staff -accommodated us even though we didn’t have booking. Highly recommend this place . Good Vegetarian food- authentic & good quantity. It’s spacious. Thanks guys and gals.
Anjali S — Google review
Always enjoy eating here (and at the previous location before they moved to the current premises). The street food experience is very good and we always find everything to be delicious and well cooked. Service is adequate and efficient. Atmosphere was quiet during lunch service but could be just the day we went mid week. We would definitely visit again. Edit: revisited on a Sunday and it was much busier. There’s an all you can eat buffet from a select menu but we just ordered what we liked from the a la carte menu. Food delicious as always.
Jimmy L — Google review
Lovely experience. Dahi Bhalla Papdi Chat and Koliwada had after long time. One of the best authentic restaurants in Cheltenham. The staff is very polite and helpful. Keep up good work. Surely we will visit again!!
S K — Google review
Okay Bombay food and chat. Not for cocktails - just very sweet. Chats were ok. Definitely not for South Indian food. No idli or vada. Atmosphere and service were good.
Sendhil K — Google review
Read the reviews and popped in for dinner. The food is absolutely amazing, such fantastic flavours. So glad we ate here.
Nikki W — Google review
I recently dined at this establishment with high hopes, but unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. I ordered Tandoori Chicken, Naan, and Murgh Kalimirch. The tandoori chicken had a decent marinade and was flavourful, but it was noticeably dry and relied heavily on food colouring. The naan resembled more of a khameeri roti than the soft, fluffy naan one might expect, which was a surprising letdown. As for the Murgh Kalimirch, it bore little resemblance to the dish it's supposed to be. The flavour lacked the signature creamy and peppery punch and overall depth; it felt more like a generic curry than a distinctive kalimirch. On a brighter note, I was pleasantly surprised to find sugarcane juice on the menu, which I have not seen on a menu in quite a while. It was well-executed and fresh. The only redeeming aspect was the friendly and attentive front-of-house staff. However, good service can't compensate for a disappointing culinary experience. I don’t plan on returning. The restaurant seems to benefit from being in an area where the standard for Indian food is relatively low, allowing it to appear better by comparison. But on its own merit, the food needs serious work.
Avikalp K — Google review
I recently dined at Bombay&Co Indian restaurant and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant offers a delightful range of dishes that truly capture the essence of Indian cuisine. To start off, the starters were absolutely delicious. The flavors were vibrant and the presentation was impressive. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, leaving me craving for more. The curries at Bombay&Co were simply outstanding. The chefs have mastered the art of balancing spices, creating curries that are rich in flavor and perfectly seasoned. The variety of curries offered catered to different palates, and I was particularly impressed with the authenticity and depth of each dish. One standout element of the dining experience was the homemade naan bread. The naan was soft, fluffy, and had a wonderful smoky flavor. It was the perfect accompaniment to the curries, and I couldn't get enough of it. The service at Bombay&Co was attentive and professional. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. They were prompt in attending to our needs and ensured that we had a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. Overall, I highly recommend Bombay&Co Indian restaurant. The delicious starters, flavorful curries, and homemade naan bread make it a culinary delight. Coupled with attentive service, it is a dining experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
Marek P — Google review
Very poor experience. We placed a takeaway order and ended up waiting for well over an hour, which is completely unreasonable. When we politely asked about the delay, the lady with glasses at the counter was dismissive and spoke rudely instead of simply apologizing or providing a proper update. Good service is not only about the food but also about how customers are treated. Waiting times can happen, but the lack of communication, courtesy, and accountability made the experience far worse. If management values their customers, they need to seriously address both efficiency and staff behaviour.

Nestled in the charming Fairview area of Cheltenham, Nasprias is a delightful family-run café and pizza ristorante that beautifully marries Sardinian heritage with local Cotswolds produce. Named after the family's vineyard in Sardinia, this hidden gem specializes in handmade pizza al taglio, offering an array of flavors from classic margherita to enticing vegan options.
Had an amazing dinner last night at Nasprias, a little gem in Cheltenham. The pizzas were top-notch—great quality, generous toppings, and the perfect crust. The value for money is excellent too, especially considering how delicious everything was. What really stood out, though, was the service. Federico, the pizza chef, not only prepared incredible food but also invited us for a drink and took the time to chat with us, making us feel super comfortable and welcomed. It's that kind of personal touch that really sets a place apart. And I can't forget to mention the homemade tiramisu—you cannot miss it. It's hands down one of the best I've had. This place has definitely become one of my top spots in Cheltenham. Highly recommend!

We popped into this charming little eatery for a spot of late lunch after more exploring. Thou not busy at the time, the place has a great atmosphere, lovely interiors and great staff. They have a lunchtime offer until 4pm, including some cocktails. Highly recommend this place if you fancy a lite lunch with some great cocktails. The limoncello spritz was a new one and went down a treat. Their focaccia was lite, crispy and taste lovely. Their lunchtime offer allows you to pick 3 ingredients for £7. Bargin!!

Just a great little place with super food and really cool atmosphere. It won’t break your budget either as VERY reasonable. For me, it’s recommended!

The food and the service were both excellent! I was there on a busy night once so I never truly appreciated the atmosphere and interaction with the servers. Today, I went for lunch with my hubby, and we were truly impressed with the quality and variety of the food, service and atmosphere too. It felt very homely, and the food was so comforting. Would highly recommend!

Popped in on Friday afternoon without a reservation and were lucky to get a table. Staff were great and the food was excellent - simple, tasty and reasonably priced. It is refreshing to see a restaurant that doesn’t add ‘optional’ service charges to the bill leaving you to tip the great service. Keep it up.

Mega food and lovely staff been here several times, good drinks too. Recent updates to the menu are great and I recommend the Nutella focaccia.

Nestled on the outskirts of Stroud, The Old Fleece is a charming gastro pub that beautifully marries history with modern dining. Housed in a 250-year-old former coaching inn, it boasts classic wooden decor and an inviting terrace for those who prefer to dine al fresco. The menu is a delightful mix of upscale British fare, featuring everything from sharing platters like Moroccan Meze and Italian Antipasti to hearty staples such as beer-battered fish and chips and gourmet burgers.
Sitting outside on a warm summers evening we had a fabulous meal and drinks here. Served by Joe the entertaining king of charisma (in a crazy shirt) he was the perfect host that really made our visit memorable. The food exceeded our expectations, especially the burgers which were huge. Outside is a nice place to sit if you like interesting cars as well, peering through the bamboo privacy screens you catch glimpses of some interesting motors passing by.

Decent stay in the coach house here, seems recently renovated but maybe not quite finished! It's good value. The pub does great food and had great service, but maybe the chef needs to use more salt.

I recently stayed at The Old Lodge, and it was an outstanding experience. The surroundings were beautiful, and the hospitality was exceptional. Vlad, one of the chefs at the Old Fleece, truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and prepared a meal that was amazingly delicious. I popped in from a long walk in Selsey Common for lunch - staff was really friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. I had duck breast and chocolate-orange semifreddo and it was perfect - it's a shame I had to go back next day because I probably would become a regular!!!

Really lovely place with an interesting menu and great staff. Chicken supreme was delicious as was the baked Camembert and the starter of pickled veg - lovely to see vegetables being celebrated on a menu.

We went for late lunch yesterday and we were very disappointed. When our food arrived there was only the steak, pepper sauce and a small bowl of chips, when paying £34 for a steak. We have been to the Old Fleece many times but will not go again!

I was transferred here from the ‘sister’ hotel, The Old Lodge at Minchinhampton. I had booked that hotel as I was travelling on my own and wanted somewhere to stay that was in a quiet location. The day before my stay they telephoned to say there was a problem with my room, so my booking was being transferred to The Old Fleece! He said they would put a voucher in the room as a thank you for being understanding! This didn’t happen, although the bar gave me a free £3.50 cup of coffee. What a disappointment! On a main road, no breakfast available (I was offered breakfast at The Old Lodge… but who wants to get up, pack up and drive 5 miles in the wrong direction before a meeting in Gloucester at 9.30am?!) No television in the bedroom to put me to sleep after working until 10.00 pm, and traffic noise all night. The bed was so hard it felt as though I was sleeping on the floor. There was a coffee pod machine… half full of water ( how long had that been in there) but no instructions. I don’t drink tea.. so I had to beg some instant coffee from the people I was with in Nailsworth during the evening, or I would have had no refreshment at all on the morning. It was £20 less expensive than my original booking but it was definitely not worth the money! The only saving grace was the steak salad meal which was delicious! I wouldn’t stay here again!

Cocktail bar
KIBOU Japanese Restaurant & Bar in Cheltenham offers a unique dining experience with its hip and whimsical atmosphere. The restaurant serves a variety of Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, ramen, donburi rice bowls, and katsu curry. In addition to their regular menu, Kibou also offers an exquisite Japanese-inspired afternoon tea featuring popular dishes and traditional sweets presented on a stunning 3-tiered stand.
We visited on a relatively quiet Sunday afternoon after the main lunchtime rush. We were given a choice of tables, so picked a booth which comfortably accommodated our party of five. An extensive menu offering a great choice of Japanese dishes. Our orders soon followed. We chose a bottle of rose wine to accompany our meal, something light. The dishes were beautifully presented, as shown in my photos. A selection for each of us. It's not cheap, the two of our meals, without desserts came to just over £90 whilst the other three theirs totalled just over £110. That did include gratuities, but still it is very exoensive. But that said the food was very good. Level 10 Google reviewer with over 1,200 reviews with 2 million views plus 14,000 photos with more than 60 million views and still going strong 💪. Had a lovely meal at this restaurant, the ramen was a highlight! The broth was beautifully flavoursome and good sized portions at a reasonable price. Polite, friendly serving staff also. Only downside was your female bathrooms were very dirty as pictured, give them a deep clean please.

Managed to book a private room here for 7 people, ths was a wonderfull spaced and added greatly to our experiance. Food was amazing and there was so much choise. Will 100% be going back. It was a little costly, However you get what you pay for in life and its 100% true here. Overall a great resturant.

We had a lovely meal here for my birthday last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were in a quieter part of the restaurant which was actually really nice and the food was fab. They even bought me a slice of vegan cake with a sparkler in for my birthday. Plenty of choice for vegans both sushi and hot!

Lovely place, easy to locate and friendly staff. Has sitting space outside with blankets!!!! How cool is that!!! And so thoughtful. I’m someone who’d always skid outside cause of the cold but here they made sure we’re comfortable

I asked our server (can't remember his name but beer arrived straight away 😅 thank you ) for cutely and had it also straight away. I just wanna say don't be afraid (I was a bit) walking in to this restaurant as you are gonna be welcomed with open arms and one of their staff will offer you menu explanation if you not sure what to order . My daughters was over the moon (they can use a sticks 😅) food as I mentioned below was delicious and Green tea with Jasmine before , during and after is A MUST.

We took our grandchildren for a celebration exam lunch. The service was appalling, it took nearly an hour between the first person being served and the last in a party of five. The food when it did arrive was delicious. At a cost of £50 per head we expected much better service.

The Mahal, located in Bath Road, is a magnificent Indian restaurant that uses great British produce and spices to give a unique Indian twist. The chefs here use friendly staff and celebrate the wonderful flavours of India with dishes like venison masala or curried parsnip.
Had one of my best meals of 2024 here. Really good tasting menu, with an interesting and varied non-alcoholic pairing (first one I've seen). Food was great, drinks were amazing. The decor is lovely.

A fantastic evening! We had the tasting menu (vegetarian and meat) and everything was exquisite! I even mentioned it was my birthday and was given a special treat at the end of the meal. Fantastic service. Fantastic food. Thank you

Absolutely incredible experience at the Mahal. There were two of us celebrating a birthday - which we didn't specify to the staff. But towards the end they asked if we are here for a special occasion and the brought over a lovely card signed by staff and a cake on the house! We had 5 course meal with non alcoholic pairings. Each course was delicious, so pretty and the drink pairings actually worked perfectly. The staff were very kind to explain how it works and told us about each course in detail as well. Having halal meat really helped us too. The atmosphere was lovely, the interior was gorgeous and we just felt very fancy! Would definitely visit again.

Great Indian restaurant, we had gone to celebrate a birthday . It’s fine dining with great presentation and taste though I would say the malbar curry was a bit of letdown compared to my expectations . The naans are freshly made and come out straight from tandoor. The drink are great and so is the house pour wines

An impromptu lunch out in Cheltenham today took us to the amazing @themahalrestaurant .These beautiful works of art also tasted incredible. The ambience and warmness of the wonderful staff must also be mentioned. Such a gem tucked away in Montpellier, nothing was too much trouble and the food all homemade with intricate touches of decoration had to be savoured with each and every spice having it's own chance to be sensed on the pallette. We had the lunch time menu which was very reasonably priced and had something for all tastes. We will definitely be returning for one of the tasting menus which also looked delicious. I have to mention the beautiful decor too, which I should have photographed, and the hand painted flowers in the main restaurant were stunning.
Fran P — Google review
The tasting menu is amazing! I also had the paired wine flight too which was brilliantly matched. Some lovely touches by the Mahal’s team to mark celebrating my birthday too. We will definitely return and would highly recommend!

More than just a meal! The combination of spices & aromas transport you to Indian. Each dish was fresh, rich and well balanced. Dishes with meat were tender and juicy, fish dishes cooked perfectly and the vegetarian dishes packed full of flavour. Everything was beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is modern with elegant decor. The service was friendly and attentive. If you like and appreciate this review please give it a like or a thumbs up so that I know what content to include in future reviews.

As a frequent visitor to this vibrant city over the last five years, I’ve had the pleasure of dining at many establishments. Yet, it wasn’t until my recent visit to “The Mahal” that I truly felt I had discovered a culinary gem. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was enveloped in an ambiance that married elegance with comfort. The staff greeted me with the warmth and hospitality that one would expect from a venue of such high calibre. The menu, a testament to the chef’s expertise, offered a tasting journey that was both innovative and deeply rooted in authentic flavors. Each dish was a revelation, with the tasting menu standing out as a highlight of my dining experience. It was not just a meal; it was a celebration of the senses. The Mahal’s commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of their service. Whether it’s a casual dinner or a special occasion, this restaurant has set a new standard for what I consider a decent meal. It’s a place I would recommend without hesitation, and I look forward to returning to what I can only describe as a culinary haven.

The Tavern is a rustic-chic pub in Cheltenham known for its seasonal European cuisine, full bar, and live music. It's part of an expanding empire in the area and is famous for its steaks, particularly the 8oz flat-iron. The venue also houses a mini-brewery offering various seasonal menus and entertainment options like live music and discounts on local drinks and food. Additionally, it provides detailed information on allergens and nutritional value of dishes served.
Better late than never!! We had a fantastic family experience at The Tavern on Christmas Day.. .20+adults /children , for their set Christmas day lunch menu. The food was expertly cooked...all the traditional stuff...with some twists.....and lots of extras. All food was served in bowls and platters and put on the table for us to serve ourselves, which really suited us. There was ample...it just kept coming. ..we could have fed another 10 people!!!....so yes...we took lots of doggy bags home! With some of us having never eaten out on Christmas Day before...it was noted that it did feel like we were 'at home'.....completely relaxed in the atmosphere and ambience at the Tavern. I don't live in Cheltenham, but will definitely be returning to the Tavern at some point again this year. 10/10 from all of us....well done for catering so expertly for such a large number. All staff were so professional and so accommodating.....nothing was too much.

Went on Easter Monday and it was so quiet. The French dip sandwich was a misleading as it came in a hotdog bun but was still very tasty and filling. Steak was juicy and flavoursome the salad was actually seasoned well too. The potatoes could have been crispier in my opinion.

We have been to the Tavern about 4 or 5 times over the past 3 years. The food is very good and the service is always good. Today we went just for a drink and it's a very welcoming place. The staff are very chatty. Worth trying for anyone who hasn't been before I went at the weekend for lunch. We both has the steak tartare for starter. Then I had the massive rack of ribs for main and my girlfriend had the lamb shank. We finished it off with a slice of cheese cake between us. Very good service and the food was very nice. We also had a nice bottle of Malbec and they serve Deya there which is a great pint. Update. I've now been to the Tavern about 10 times and it's great. I love that they use local beers. They have recently changed their menu to have a large amount of small plates but still with the option for main meals. Great food and great atmosphere. We took our 8 month old baby with us recently and they were more than welcoming.

Unrivalled dining experience! Every aspect of the evening was perfect, from the initial welcome to the final farewell, the staff know how to make your evening a delight, a sensible amount of humour with a respectful level of service, not invasive or oppressive, just brilliant. The food was just as I might have hoped for and it did not disappoint, it was so good we found ourselves sharing tastes, not something we would normally do. I can honestly say I am excited about the prospect of my next visit...which can't come soon enough. Thank you to every member of staff who make this customer experience so perfect.

This place is absolutely excellent. 5 stars in all areas! The mussels were some of the best I have ever had, incredible sauce and fantastic bread! For dessert I had a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a scoop of pistachio and saffron which was a very interesting flavour but actually really worked. Considering the outstanding quality of food served here the price is incredibly reasonable. No more expensive then pub grub yet a million times better!

We had dinner at the Barn in May, 4 adults, two pescatarian. It seems hard to find many good fish restaurant in Gloucestershire but this is definitely one. We had a couple of nibbles, crispy Salmon skins & padron peppers, parfait small plate, fish & chips, seafood platter, smoked platter & the artichoke plate. Everyone devoured everything, portion size was good & drinks prices reasonable. They saved the best until last with the desserts, Strawberry & vanilla tart, lemon meringue éclair & raspberry marquis. Not the cheapest with a total bill of around £180, only one drink each and one was drinking water anyway, but still felt like value for money. Location is a modern Barn conversion, as the name suggests, tastefully interior in stone. Agood evening all around.

We had a delicious meal for four of us. It was a real treat, and our choice of the hot fish platter was perfect. Although we could’ve done with more paper towels and finger washing bowls as it was so finger licking good! All the puddings were melt in the mouth perfect too. The staff were attentive and fun and created a great atmosphere. The restaurant was packed, and yet it seemed calm and well managed. Obviously the place to come for a posh lunch out that doesn’t break the bank. Lovely little trip to the shop and deli and fish counter downstairs too on our way out. Thankyou.

Went here as wanted food. We were a bit unsure as last time we went, we had a bad experience. It is now being run by new people. Staff friendly and welcoming. We managed to get a table straight away. It was busy but they did have football on. Really good choice of food on menu. I had tikka masala and was really good. My partner said his food was really good gave it a 10, he had burger and chips. Reasonably priced. There is limited parking outside but is a car park 10 minutes walk from here or if lucky might find a place on the main Street. Would recommend and go again.

Food was average and we waited 45 minutes for it to be served. We were the first in the pub and placed our order straight away, so not like it was busy with lots before us. I opted for the chicken selection - southern fried strips, wings and bbq chicken melt. The strips were over cooked and just about edible, the wings were nice, the chicken melt was ....... well what can I say - a torn off piece of fillet with a blob of bbq sauce and a postage stamp size square of cheap cheese slice - not even melted. The fries were OK. My husband had the steak pie, mash and peas which was ok but nothing special. For such a nice olde world pub the food was a total disappointment. I Do Not Recommend this pub.

Brilliant atmosphere, surroundings, ale, food, service, and comfort. As an American, this pub had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, if not the best. As the staff explained, the burger was in the style of a McDonald’s burger. It had the taste and addictiveness of McDonald’s with clearly superior ingredients and freshness. The onglet and chips were great as well. Mussels and deviled crabs were great starters. The strawberry ice cream was also an incredible dessert, probably the best strawberry ice cream I’ve tried. Friendly staff and service. I would recommend that you reserve a table.

Walked into Giggling Squid in Cheltenham with a group of friends hoping it was as good as I had heard, to cut to the chase it is, we all left laughing and thoroughly satisfied. We decided we would share everything and the menu works well for this. We ordered the Prawn Crackers which seem like an inevitability. As starters, we got the Prawns, Duck Spring Rolls, and the Caramelised Pork Belly. These were all delicious and our dinner, celebrating the publication of my 500th haiku poem was off to a flying start. “At the Giggling Squid, the entrees were fantastic! Excited for mains.” (a haiku) While we could take credit for ordering well, all of the mains were good - so I think it’s hard to go wrong here. The Massaman Beef was great and was probably my favourite pick of the night. The Crab Curry had crispy soft shell crab, well balanced spices and I loved it. The Chicken and Prawn Pad Thai was a good version of the dish. The Garlic Hake was a surprisingly good dish that I’d get again for sure, the Sticky Chicken had a lovely caramelized glaze, and the side of rotis and rice rounded out the meal super well. Their drinks list was a hit - I tried the Bitburger alcohol-free beer - it was a good low alcohol alternative for the designated driver. The others enjoyed their Raspberry Daiquiri and a particularly good Spiced Piña Colada, and a mocktail or two rounded out the mix. The service was friendly and efficient. I liked the decor and the space felt warm. I would like to thank the kitchen for their focus and expertise, all the dishes were well balanced. The waiters joked with us during their service and made us feel right at home, all guessing we were Australian pretty early on. I’ll definitely go back and it was well priced and was easy to book and relaxing to go in a group and have a lovely night out. “We all left happy, grateful for the time we spent, great food and great friends.” (Another haiku)
Jay S — Google review
The venue is not dog friendly, we did sit outside with our well behaved dog. The gin and tonic came warm, the tap water was very tap.. even though we do drink tap water at home. We got the chicken and rice, whilst the rice was delicious and hot, the sticky chicken was just a coating, deep fried and greasy with not much chicken, it was warm. Managers and waiters were promising but not delivering. we sat outside and therefore neglected. the manager in glasses was in a rush to get the order in which we found very rude, we asked assistant manager in training for bill and dessert, she never appeared. the only person who made our experience delightful was Grant. he was very attentive, helpful, not rushing, felt welcomed and heard. He was very polite and listened. although he was a waiter he should be the Manager, as the manager itself didn’t show any interest in running the venue in an excellent manner. thank you to Grant for making our dinner and evening less sour, he was a great host. please keep it up Grant we will come back to see you in Managerial position as you know how to treat customers. You just know when someone cares.

Revival Cafe Bar & Grill is a delightful casual eatery located just across the road from Spencer's, offering an impressive array of global cuisine. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast or a light lunch, Revival has something to satisfy every palate. Their menu features everything from classic full English breakfasts to vegan options, ensuring that all dietary preferences are catered for. For those seeking a quick bite, their small breakfast is affordably priced at 6.
We recently had lunch here, and it was an experience worth sharing. The meal was nothing short of exceptional, both in flavour and value. We ordered the grill mixt and shepherd’s pie, and both dishes exceeded our expectations. The grill mixt was a hearty selection of perfectly cooked meats, each bursting with flavour. The shepherd's pie, rich and comforting, had a beautifully seasoned filling topped with a golden, fluffy mash – the very definition of a classic done right. But the true highlights of our meal were the desserts. The apple pie was a delightful blend of sweet and tart, with a flaky, buttery crust that was simply irresistible. The carrot cake was moist and perfectly spiced, with a cream cheese frosting that added the perfect touch of indulgence. It was the cherry on top of an already satisfying meal. Adding to the experience was the service – attentive, friendly, and efficient. The staff made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

Great place. We went for breakfast and both had the New York Pancakes with bacon on top. Very tasty. I liked that the bacon were chunked rather than whole pieces. We had a side of hash browns which were also very good. Service was good. Dog friendly. Cool spot.

It ain't no coffee place, it's a fully fledged rest-o-raunt. Coffee not too bad, in fact it's better than a lot of stuff out there. My eggs on my benedict were well cooked, and by that we're not talking overdone, we're talking cooked well. We're also talking cost effective pricing so why are there only three stars showing? It's all down to my personal preferences and Revival can't cater to what they're not aware of. Latte served in a glass is a no no. Latte served without a swirly is a no no. Give me a spoon that looks like Uri Geller's had a go at it is a no no no. Benedict served on a roof tile........ other than that.......

First time trying this cafe but so pleased I did! The staff were absolutely lovely. The drinks and food came so quickly! Special mention to Emma who was a delight to deal with. Would highly recommend for some quick, easy and tasty food. Kids portion was just right for my 3 year old daughter who ate every bite! Apparently they were understaffed but you would never have known!

Went in here on a chance looking for a coffee and enjoyed a delicious different breakfast. I had the quesadilla my husband had the full English. Loved the extensive menu. Wishing we lived nearer as we would visit often. Tapas looked very inviting . The indoor decor was amazing and added to the ambience. The building was a snooker hall, didn't look a lot from outside but once in and the upstairs were beautifully adorned. Would highly recommend and it was very busy when we were there on a Sunday and service was good.

Popped over to Stroud for a day out book shopping. Loved the Gloucester lounge so popped in Curio. Really good service, took my allergies seriously and advised me on other options I could have. Or though busy they served me quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

Love the layout of this place, it has a great atmosphere. A extensive menu with lovely sounding dishes - if you can't pick one, you're likely to find it in the tapas section (3 for £12.75). The nasi goreng was delicious!! Nice touch that the dogs were able to come in too 😊👌

I have visited this restaurant many times, each time the food is delicious. There is a variety of vegan foods aswell as gluten free. The vegan dishes are amazing and full of flavour. The restaurant is decorated nicely and they have a rustic sort of vibe going. The tables have QR codes that allow you to order online to your table if you don't want to speak to anyone, which is great, and the wait for food is never more than 30 minutes.

Rajdoot Indian Restaurant in Cirencester is a contemporary gem that beautifully marries traditional Indian flavors with modern dining. Located conveniently near the town center, this restaurant offers an array of delightful dishes, including their renowned tandoori specialties like lamb shaslik. The creative head chef crafts daily specials, ensuring there's always something new to savor on each visit.
This place was so awesome! The food was fantastic. We got the lamb biryani and the chicken tikki makka. Both were delicious.
Tom — Google review
Some starters were ok, some not so, the salmon sizzling dish came burnt and overcooked with no salad, just an empty plate to help yourself had to ask for the salad which was brought out in a hot plastic takeaway container 🤦‍♂️. Madras main was quite tasteless, and no heat was very bland. Side dishes were slightly better. Garlic nan was the best 👌 light and airy. Service was pretty poor. They struggled to get the correct drinks. Bottled water on the table but warm. Even when ordered a cold bottle, it still came warm as none in the fridge. What is the point. Won't be rushing back.

We went to Rajdoot for dinner. As a big curry fan I was excited to see what Rajdoot had to offer and after an incredibly long waiting time (an hour plus), we were finally served. We ordered Chicken makhni, pulao, paneer butter masala, Bhindi masala and garlic naan. The food when I came was exceptionally good, I had the chicken Makhani and the taste was rich and smooth the way I like it. However, the paneer butter masala gravy was quite sweet and the bhindi masala was lacking flavours too. The garlic naan bread was not the best I’ve had as it lacked some of the flavour. The staff were not particularly impressive and left much to be desired. I’ve come to expect but ultimately the meal was a good one and to be recommended provided you have the time to spend waiting to be served..

Ellenborough Park is a luxurious 16th-century manor that offers top-notch dining, an outdoor pool, and a spa with award-winning services. The hotel's spa provides 5-star treatments including a gym, swimming pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna, and various high-quality therapies such as facials, massages, nail treatments and more. Guests can also enjoy spa weekends and Afternoon Tea packages.
We arrived Saturday for 1 night, from check in to check out the experience was 5 star. All the staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was outstanding, clean, large, air conditioned. We had our evening meal in the brassiere, which was lovely, the waiter who served us was excellent, chatty and informative. We used the pool & spa, again excellent. The breakfast was again 5 star, we had the Full English breakfast and would highly recommend as cooked to perfection. The staff at breakfast were again friendly and helpful. The gentleman at check out recommend a local farm shop which we had asked for and this was an amazing experience. Excellent parking. All Around would definitely recommend.

The hotel is marketed as a 5-star hotel with a luxury experience but didn’t meet expectations at all. Recently visited with my family and booked a Manor Suite and a Traditional dog-friendly room. Both rooms were not cleaned during our stay, with bathrooms not being cleaned, used mugs not replaced, towels not being refreshed, and no hoovering/Vacuuming of the rooms. When asked to clean the rooms, only the towels were changed. There were also signs the traditional room was not cleaned before our arrival: human hair was found in the shower and tablets next to the bed. The shower had black mould, that’s easy to clean, and the toilet door couldn’t close. The only positive is that the beds are comfortable. The restaurant was also disappointing. Service was very slow. Food was average, with some of the meals being very salty. Staff are friendly and are kind to dogs. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a luxury experience.

I booked a stay here as a surprise for my boyfriend and we had the best time! We were given a free upgrade for our room, which was such a lovely surprise. The room was spotless, spacious, and really comfortable. The customer service was amazing , every staff member we spoke to was so friendly and helpful, and they really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The spa facilities was relaxing and exactly what we needed for a peaceful getaway. It was a shame that only one of us was able to have a treatment - one of the massage therapist had an accident, which is understandable as I work in the beauty industry. Love the location, we took a pleasant 2 hour stroll to the Cheltenham Racecourse. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Catherin T — Google review
As a Canadian visiting the Cotswolds, I was absolutely delighted with my stay at Ellenborough Park. The hospitality team are outstanding - genuinely warm, attentive, and eager to make every guest feel cared for. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Special thanks to the bar and restaurant team for their impeccable service and charm, and to Laura in the spa for a truly blissful Japanese Head Spa treatment. I stayed in Room 5, located in the original manor house. It was spacious and beautifully furnished, with a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom featuring both a bath and separate shower. Naturally, as with any historic building, the floors slope and creak a little - but that’s precisely what gives the place its character and charm. The food was excellent, with the team happily accommodating any dietary or personal preferences. Before booking, I had read a few of the less flattering reviews and wondered what to expect. Having now experienced Ellenborough Park for myself, I can only say those comments are utterly misplaced. The property is beautifully maintained, clearly signposted, and staffed by attentive, capable people who are always nearby to assist. Thank you to everyone at Ellenborough Park for such a relaxing and memorable stay. It’s a truly special place, and I look forward to returning. You are fortunate to have such a great team here.

Very scenic area with plenty of hiking, biking; Cheltenham Racecourse and easy walk. Included breakfast has a lot of variety and choices. Afternoon tea served near the fireplace in an ancient room was perfect and dinner was well done. Excellent and helpful staff. Room was comfortable and had it's own patio.
Judy M — Google review
Stayed here for one night and was an absolute perfect stay. I don’t understand the comments saying it’s not a 5 stars, maybe people should travel more? Service is great, room service works like any 5 stars, the room is amazing and comfy. Only comment to improve is lack of toiletries.
Maria O — Google review
I enjoyed a lovely half day spa day - very reasonable indeed. Highlights for me where Lana at the spa. I thoroughly recommend her for massage, she's fantastic! Thank you Lana!!! The sauna, steam room and hot tub area is pretty busy so not very relaxing and the lack of changing facilities in the spa is odd. An outside walk to the outside pool wasn't for me either... but lunch in the hotel, plus a mocktail, was excellent. Thanks!

The restaurant boasts award-winning cocktails and a glamorous atmosphere. Guests can savor classics like cosmopolitans and espresso martinis or try signature concoctions such as honey rum rum and gin jam. The intimate piano bar features live music on Friday and Saturday nights.
We came here on the last day of our break to the Cotswolds. What a lovely surprise it was! The restaurant was busy but not heaving, the staff attentive, and the food was delicious. Even though there was a wedding in the garden, it did not affect diners in the main restaurant. As we finished our dinner, the live music started up in the bar, clearly a popular regular event. We joined the small crowd in the bar when we had finished up which made a great end to the evening.

We had dinner at Téatro as we were staying at Ingleside House. Lovely decor and friendly service with a good garden area. We ate inside and started with a good Twice Baked Cheese Souffle, with Gouda Cheese Sauce and a Burrata with Heritage Tomatoes. Mains were a delicious Native Breed Pork Chop cooked on the Josper grill and the Moules Mariniere, with sourdough. And to finish a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream.

We had an amazing steak dinner here – the food and drinks were absolutely delicious. After our meal, we were invited into the bar area, where a very talented pianist played for us for the rest of the evening. A lovely place to dine and enjoy quality time with your loved ones while in Cirencester

Delightful place for dinner. Really nice atmosphere, very friendly and efficient staff. There was excellent live music on (a friday night) which added to the ambience. A small but well put together menu with lots of options. There was a mix up with two of our main courses but this was rectified immediately and didn’t detract from an excellent evening. Would really recommend a visit.

It could have been an off day for them, but unfortunately nothing went well for our booking. The food and drink were not special and we had to send back 2 steaks because they were undercooked and not what was ordered. The manager tried to make up for the obvious sub par food being served. It was a special birthday celebration and the meal fell flat.

Sef Steakhouse, founded by experienced restaurateurs Metin Civlak, Mert Aras, and Kaan Kucukagalar, offers an elegant dining experience with a touch of theater. The restaurant's stylish interiors and the presentation of many dishes at the table create a memorable atmosphere for a special night out. Guests praise the attentive staff and high-quality, perfectly cooked steaks. The modern and relaxing decor adds to the overall appeal of this upscale establishment.
Apps, wine and steak were really good. The deserts though. Wow. Amongst the best deserts I've ever had. Baclava wasn't overly sweet so you could actually taste the ingredients, elevated by adding a bit of the vanilla ice cream. I had a bite of a friend's cheesecake and could actually taste the dairy components and not just straight sugar. Truly amazing.
Patrick S — Google review
This was our first trial for this steakhouse so that we chose the promoted lunch set to see the kitchen’s level to decide whether we can try better steaks here next time. The setting up was good and the service was very welcoming and nice. Generally speaking, we would like to give 8 of 10 for the food because the portion of the 8 oz Rump steak was too dry and chewy and you can see very clearly from the picture. I guessed the chef didn’t coat the outside steak with olive oil enough and the fire was not that well controlled…And the mushroom sauce should not be over runny like this for steak. After we told the service team, they did ask us whether we need them to recook for us which was a very good attitude. Other foods like Pork belly, Beef Carpaccio and British famous sticky Toffee pudding were quite nice.
Wendy D — Google review
Great Steakhouse. We went for lunch and decided to have the set course option, 3 courses for £23 which was great value. The had a wide selection of steaks and other mains so will definitely be back for an A la Carte steak. A nice and relaxing lunch experience.
John W — Google review
As a vegetarian, choosing a steakhouse wouldn’t normally be my first instinct but I’m so glad I did! I went with my husband for his birthday lunch. The vegetarian options were not just a token afterthought; they were genuinely delicious and thoughtfully prepared. I was honestly impressed. What really made the evening even better was the outstanding service from our waiter attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly looked after. And let’s talk about the pudding… absolutely to die for! The perfect sweet ending to a surprisingly brilliant meal. Definitely one of those places where everyone—meat-eater or not—can enjoy something special. Can’t wait to take the family there when they visit next.
Chan M — Google review
I got the beef burger with bone marrow and my family were sharing a big steak together. The meat was lovely and very nicely cooked! The chips were nothing special and the lemon tart was sadly not the best. The atmosphere is nice but it was lacking in coat hanger/bag dropping locations and the service took quite a long time with having to ask to get our plates taken for dessert. The white port was lovely and overall it was nice!
Dessi V — Google review
The atmosphere and decor were excellent, creating a great setting for our meal. Unfortunately, our server mixed up the starters, so we had to wait longer for the correct ones. The beef croquettes were underwhelming and lacked flavour. For the main course, we shared the chateaubriand—the steak itself was delicious, but the sides were disappointingly small. Four small Hasselback potatoes for two people didn’t feel like a sufficient portion.
Leigh S — Google review
Evening meal with a colleague, we didn't book, but we were found a table almost immediately. The service was impeccable, with helpful and attentive staff. The food was good and we didn't feel rushed. Was easy to spend a few hours with good food, from the starters to dessert. (Would recommend you do keep some space for a dessert)

As a passionate food photographer and hospitality student, I visited this restaurant mainly to take some food photos – and I let the staff know when I arrived. They were very welcoming and supportive, which I really appreciated! I took pictures of my drink and the steak I ordered, and I’ve added those photos to this review. The presentation was beautiful and perfect for photography – and the food tasted just as amazing as it looked. The steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The staff were friendly and professional, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. As someone studying hospitality, I really noticed and valued their great service. Highly recommend this place – especially if you love food, photography, and good vibes!

Popped by based on other reviews and glad I did. Great selection of hand pulled beers at the bar at the front but the best is yet to come. Walk through to the beer garden and the bbq ‘tiki’ shack and smell the fantastic Greek based food on offer. I had the lamb served with potatoes and a super fresh Greek salad buffet. Great taste and so tender - the chef knows just how to get the best from the meat. Others were having steak, burgers and lasagne plus there’s grilled fish (inc swordfish) as well. Truly a great little pub serving something different from the mainstream food offering. Make sure you try it out. If people don’t support these great places they will just disappear.

This is a charming little backstreet pub with a great selection of locally brewed ales. Due to its proximity to the football ground, I came here suggested by some regulars & it was a good call. Upon arrival it was obvious I was not local myself, but I was made to feel immediately welcome which enabled me to relax & enjoy it. If you're in the area, let the lager boys disappear to Spoons & check this hidden gem out instead. I particularly recommend the mango IPA - lovely stuff!

We have been going to the Kemble for years. Caron the current landlady and her staff always give great service and the food and ales and wines they serve are reasonably priced and top quality. Absolutely fantastic service, some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I don’t eat fish but it was fantastic. We arrived after they had shut and they still served us and gave it to us on the house. 100% would recommend, lovely people, lovely food, amazing atmosphere!

I did a click and collect order yesterday having not visited before - I was greeted by name, and a smile, and received prompt service. The food itself was lovely, good portions sizes, and complimentary tartar sauce. The various garnishes were also a great touch! I'll definitely be back :)

Great 👍 place Great Food the fish fresh and chips perfect 👌
Miss H — Google review
Travelling on the road for work and gigs, you can't beat a good fish and chips, especially when it's cold out there. Cheltenham and Gloucester have a fair number of chippies but when out that way, this is the one I generally return to. More of a traditional chippy with pickled onion too, unpretentious with friendly staff, not over done but still crispy battered cod and fluffy chips which are never oily. Bonus, especially for the Cheltenham area is parking is free from 6.30pm in nearby car park or street and had a small eating-in area.

This place was great! Came recommended by a coworker and I'm glad I went. Was promptly greeted by friendly staff and the food was ready in minutes. Crispy, delicious fish and thick chips. They even asked if I wanted malt vinegar, which I happily accepted. They had a few tables in the back so I ate there. Highly recommend stopping by!

On Toast is a charming cafe nestled on Westgate Street in Gloucester, offering an array of delectable breakfast choices with a unique focus on toast. The menu showcases an assortment of inventive toppings such as avocado and feta, hummus with roasted vegetables, and smoked salmon with cream cheese and chives. Patrons rave about the exceptional service, including accommodating pre-orders and serving perfectly cooked toasties even after closing time.
Great and crunchy taste. Stylish tasty toast👍 Eating outside the docks, great scenery

A really small shop located on the docks. I had three fillings for 4.99 and it was delicious! Really small little shop and I hope it continues in business. Super tasty and reasonably priced. Friendly service. More of a take away shop.
Emma C — Google review
Small shop with a polite and pleasant gentleman manning it. The toastie was perfect. Would highly recommend and be back if I was in the area
Hassan A — Google review
Just fantastic. Honest food great prices all served by the passionate proprietor who has taken the humble toasty to the highest possible expression of cheesy fillings between two slices of bread. Ignore the food dock (don't but I am sticking to rhetoric). Avoid the monotonous chains of Gloucester docks where you will pay more for far less. Go to On Toast for a proper pressed sandwich.
Greg J — Google review
Great little business, friendly chef/server and good choice of toasties. Had the Spring Lamb Toasty - a little messy but delicious! Would appreciate more pricing on the menu and the interior could do with a little tidying, but I’d be more than happy to go back :)
Jess R — Google review
Small toastie shop tucked away on the water front. You order from the doorway and they have lots of options (good balance of meat and vegetarian, no vegan that I saw unfortunately). Friendly staff member prepared 4 toasties quickly and they were really good. Tasty, well toasted and packed with fillings - not so much to be tricky to eat though.
Joe C — Google review
Cannot fault at all. Seriously, if you're by the quays and love toasted sandwiches with a twist and which are well-stuffed, then go. Even if you aren't into toasties, I'd still say go. David the proprietor and master toastie maker was a delight, the prices are crazy reasonable for the sheer amount you get, and the toasties are unreal. Just go, you will not be disappointed!

Spencer's Cafe in Cheltenham is a delightful spot for those craving hearty meals without breaking the bank. Known for its generous portions, you can indulge in a regular breakfast for under £7 or opt for the 'mega' breakfast at £12.50, which features an impressive array of ingredients including eggs, bacon, sausages, and more. The cafe boasts a warm atmosphere with friendly service that makes every visit enjoyable.
This is a very busy, cafe just off Cheltenham high street. It's been in the same location for years and is alwaysbusy so its doing something right! The service was amazing. The experienced staff make sure you are well looked after. We went for brunch 😋. It did not disappoint. The eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly. I gave the atmosphere a 4 only because it was way too many tables squished into this cafe. You can barely move in and out of your table. It's definitely not wheelchair friendly. This cafe is also extremely loud so not a good environment for anyone who is sensitive to noise. We visited on a Saturday morning, so this may have been why it was over crowded. Next time I'll try it mid week, but will go back and highly recommend it!

My family and I came here for the first time, and we truly enjoyed both the delicious food. We ate chicken, cheeseburger and lasagne, and we’re pleased with Suat Bey’s warm hospitality. The hygiene rating was 4 out of 5 — of course, we would have preferred a 5, but we still had a pleasant experience and would recommend it.
Kadriye D — Google review
Today I visited this place for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, calm atmosphere and delicious food. I was craving a dessert so I went for the deep pan apple pie and the lovely waitress Irem said I could choose what ice cream to get, so I naturally went with vanilla 🤭 The food menu looked very tempting and I saw some great vegetarian/vegan options, so I’ll definitely come back in the future and try more from their food menu! Overall I recommend this place, there were lots of couples and families there so I can tell it’s a hot spot for locals 🙌🏼

A very relaxing and pleasant experience. Folks, if you're ever in Cheltenham, take a moment to try the full English, feeling grateful and content. Even received a complimentary mince pie. Absolutely fantastic. Cheers for the experience, guys. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Great little cafe in Cheltenham when you want a good amount of food without one of the big chain restaurants, turns out the Sherlock crew descended on the place at one point too. Good service and yummy food, I had the soup and it comes with pre buttered crusty bread for a good price, ideal. I'll go back if I'm in the area again.

It's a well known place in Cheltenham, everyone is welcome here. Staff are always helpful and attentive. They filmed a scene of Sherlock Holmes in here. Food is good value, and they offer a good big English breakfast.

Nice cafe. Great portions and friendly staff. Milkshake was delicious!! It's really good that they have a smaller portion of the English breakfast too. But they had deflated red balloons hanging off the lights which looked a bit odd, it would have been better if they got rid of those entirely.

The charming Touching Souls Tea Room, affiliated with Tewkesbury Abbey, offers a decent variety of beverages, pastries, and a limited array of both hot and cold snacks. The interior is spacious and well-lit, while outdoor seating amidst the trees adds to the pleasant ambiance. Conveniently positioned within the Abbey grounds, this tea room boasts restroom facilities and enjoys a favorable location. It comes highly recommended as an ideal stop for visitors exploring Tewkesbury Abbey.
What a find! Delicious light lunches, cakes and a large variety of hot drinks on offer. All served by friendly staff. Nice surroundings too; a great place to catch up with a friend or simply call in for a coffee. I shall be back!

I cannot recommend enough, we held our Granddaughters Christening reception at the Abbey Parish Hall adjacent to the Touching Souls Tearroom, catering provide by them, absolutely beautiful buffet, homemade cakes, quiches and a fabulous choice of sandwiches.. also tea, coffee and soft drinks. Really reasonably priced and nothing was too much trouble. 5 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

The cafe itself is OK but we arrived at 10 am there yesterday, there were 3 people outside waiting to go inside and 2 staff inside who didn't seem to be doing much, they finally let us in at 10.15 am. They knew we were all outside waiting , no apology or no good morning from the girl who opened the door.... an old lady greeted the girl with 'good morning' the girl just glared and ignored her ...so rude. I would not usually write a bad review but it's not the 1st time we have noticed the Staff don't seem to want to be there, on the last occasion served toast came out as nothing more than hot bread Shame because it really is a lovely spot and could be really nice with the right staff.
Linda F — Google review
Visited here whilst in Tewksbury and was looking forward to a lovely lunch after viewing the abbey, sadly very disappointing! We ordered 2 jacket potatoes, a toastie and soup of the day. The jackets were ok but a bit over cooked, the toastie was nothing special but the soup was very disappointing and cold! Went we went back in to ask for it to be heated up, we didn’t even get an acknowledgment from the staff, very poor!
Daisy B — Google review
Given the mixed reviews on here about this tea room, we were prepared to give them a chance as we would be supporting the church. However I wish we hadn't bothered. The service is still just as bad as reported by others, and the choice of food is poor. We had to wait over half an hour for poor quality white bread sandwiches (they hadn't got any brown bread). Big news though, they now have a working coffee machine !
John B — Google review
Terrible, not one for writing negative reviews but will make an exception for this place firstly unwelcoming staff, limp unbuttered warm bread masquerading as toast cold I mean cold sausages at this point took back to reheat which was dumped unceremoniously back on my table without one word in way of an apology ........Bad-Very bad.
Richard1960 — Google review
After a visit to Tewksbury Abbey we nipped in here for some food. Highly recommended is the large portion of beans of toast and I had a bottle of spring water. Very nice and my wife had a warm tea cake and a can of pop. All for £8. Bargain.

Nestled on the charming Market Street in Nailsworth, Wilder is a modern fine dining gem that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. Under the expert guidance of head chef Matthew Beardshall, who has honed his skills alongside some of the UK's culinary legends, this restaurant serves up an exquisite eight-course tasting menu each evening. Guests can elevate their meal with thoughtfully curated drink pairings, including wines or non-alcoholic options.
Amazing service, very friendly and personable. Great food, really well thought-out and explained plates. Unreal venison, beautiful fish, marvellous accompaniments. Non alcoholic pairings were worth the hype! Atmosphere was a bit odd but was only a small seating. The setting itself is very low key and humble compared with the food and price tag. Highly recommend, worth the £££.

Absolutely fantastic fine dining restaurant, all of the food is well thought out. This was the second time visiting and wasn't disappointed, having a wife who's picky what she eats, not knowing the menu suits us both as we've never been disappointed. The decor and atmosphere is really nice, all of the staff are great and the wine pairings are really thoughtful and makes such a difference to the meal. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, a must go to if visiting for a weekend.

Thank you Matthew for a brilliant dining experience. The menu was secret but delicious. The whole experience was a pleasure. The staff friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was created with passion and thought. Each course was a treat. If you want a culinary treat then this is definitely worth visiting. Matt (Owner) and Jonathan (Restaurant Manager) are amazing! I took my youngest daughter (nearly 13) out for dinner as she wanted to try some seafood. The results were stunning and the dining experience will be remembered for years to come. Thanks guys for making our night so special 👍
John G — Google review
My partner and I dined here for my partner’s 30th birthday. I had the vegetarian menu and my partner had the regular one; I had only soft drinks and my partner had some alcoholic drinks. Overall this was a great evening; one of our best fine dining experiences. The vegetarian dishes were excellent and didn’t feel like worse versions of the meat dishes which is sometimes the case in some restaurants. Same with the soft drinks, which weren’t too sweet. I finished every glass without an issue! The staff was very nice and obviously passionate about their work. Honestly nothing negative to say except the prices, but that’s to be expected in fine dining restaurants! Definitely recommend and would go there again :)

Second visit and a second delightful evening. Interesting menu and entirely different from our last visit. I tried the non-alcoholic flight this time and it didn't leave me feeling like I'd missed out, just like they promise. Interesting and well paired with the dishes.

A truly magical dining experience. We have been twice now (no duplication of dishes) and it’s a really special meal, but the staff make it more than just a meal. Creative, attractive and delicious food. We have done both the wine pairings and the non-alcoholic pairings and they’re both fantastic. The sommelier is knowledgeable and a joy to chat to. We will be making up special occasions just so we can visit again. A gem.

O'Hara's Coffee House is a charming independent coffee shop in Cheltenham that prides itself on offering a delightful experience along with great coffee. Tucked away from the busy high street, it provides a relaxing and quiet spot to enjoy your drink and maybe even get inspired by the beautiful display of plants inside. The shop also boasts of serving the 'Best Bacon Roll in Cheltenham' and offers a variety of beverages, snacks, and high-quality plants for sale.
We’ve now visited O’Hara’s Coffee House twice, and both times have been an absolute delight. The coffee is very good – smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. On our latest visit, we were served by the owner, who was so friendly and welcoming, which really added to the experience. It’s a lovely setting too – relaxed, warm, and a great spot to sit and enjoy a proper cup of coffee. Definitely a place we’ll keep coming back to!

This is a very unique and interesting place; they serve, beverages (strong coffee), cold and warmed snacks, and……a vast selection of good quality plants 🌱. Nestled in the vibrant heart of Stroud, Casa Sabor is a delightful culinary gem that brings the rich flavors of Latin America to life. With a menu brimming with authentic Venezuelan and Mexican dishes, Casa Sabor is perfect for those looking to indulge their taste buds while exploring new culinary horizons.
Formally known as Galgos Latino..now newly branded as Casa Sabor. The food just gets better and better. The menu is much more understandable.. without losing some firm favourites. Portions are a good size. And a great way of trying different dishes by sharing. Cocktails are made from scratch...and 2 for 1 available in happy hours between 5-7pm I tried the mushroom dirty fries ..which were deliciously crispy and full of flavour. Extra toppings are available at just a £1 extra. The manager and staff are accommodating and always happy to help. Plenty of organised party nights advertised through out the year so be sure to follow on their social accounts to stay fully informed .

Superb food and excellent service! Very tasty meal for one; taco, burrito and a cheesecake to finish. All tasted fantastic and served nicely - tortillas all hand made (i suspect) which adds just that bit extra. Only 3 stars for atmosphere as i walked in at 1800 on a Tuesday, not typically a busy time, so can’t give a good answer! Thank you 👍

This is honest to god the best steak ive ever had. Ive had some insane Steaks aborad in france/spain/Germany, and had hundreds of Steaks in the UK. This is the very first steak ive had that is superior to any other. The cost does not represent the quality and care that the chef here has put into his food. This place needs to be filled every night, words dont describe the quality to cost value. The most hidden secret you're ever going to find. Have to also mention staff and chef are really kind and fun to interact with, we spent half an hour after paying just conversing with the team.

Morrisons in Cheltenham has a bright and fresh atmosphere, with pleasant staff members like Bill. The store has been renovated, offering a clean and well-organized retail experience with a great selection of products. It also features a mini food hall. While some find the aisles narrow, others appreciate the well-stocked shelves and clear store layout. The music is not too loud, creating a pleasant shopping environment.

Visited Up Hatherly, Cheltenham today. It was the first time I've ever visited this store. We genuinely didn't even notice they were closing, whilst deciding for 5-10 minutes which coffee beans for our new coffee machine. Anyway, long story short, at 4:05pm we walked over to grab something else we needed but was greeted by the rudest, borderline passive-aggressive and argumentative female staff watching us and loudly stating "no, you don't have time to get anything! you need to leave..... NOW!". We were like WOW, Jesus's... is there a fire?? We only wanted to grab a pack of biscuits, jeez! So anyway, we went to pay, (or rather me as my partner refused to buy her biscuits out of principle) but was yet again met by a string of damm right rude staff along the way. Said to a female manager (of sorts) on the way out near the exit that EVERY member of staff from the far end of the shop, to where we were stood, had an attitude problem and was rude,... she appologised and seemed surprised. Then IRONICALLY, a random woman on the kiosk butts into my conversation and says, with attitude, "ACTUALLY, I announced we were closing 3 times". I politely said we didn't actually hear this.. Like WOW, I know this isnt Harrods, but we won't be returning here again... grumpy, bad culture with nasty vibes... would rather shop anywhere but here lol. Still trying to figure out if the staff hate their jobs, their customers, or their manager - But clearly it's at least one ! If you want to know what your staff attitudes and customer service skills are REALLY like, then send someone in at closing time. No wonder Morrisons isn't doing well tho.
Jon S — Google review
Popped in for some ready meals but found it quite limited compared to Asda and Sainsburys. The disabled parking is a bit of a distance from the entrance and you have to cross the busy carpark exit.

I left today somewhat annoyed. Whenever I visit, the customer service isn’t exactly great but it never stopped me shopping there. The bit I get annoyed at is that you need your Morrisons card on you to redeem multibuy offers. I’d forgotten my card so tried log into my account online to get the details up, there was no signal and their WiFi was terrible. When I finally got through the website wouldn’t work and kept crashing. So I asked at the checkout if there was a way they could get it up in the tills but was told they couldn’t. I gave up and went elsewhere. A multi buy offer is a multi buy offer, certain other supermarkets don’t do it so why am I being forced to use a card to “activate” a discount? Particularly when they charge more than other supermarkets…
Robert S — Google review
Visited 28/1 at 5.30pm and virtually no food left on the shelves, was like shopping in a war zone. The last few times I have been it was the same so will not waste my time again and will use other Supermarkets that actually want to sell food to customers!

KNEAD Elkstone is a bakery located in Cirencester that opened in December 2020. The menu features a variety of breads, cakes, cookies, croissants, and doughnuts. Visitors have praised the warm welcome from the manager and the passion he showed for the bakery. The hot chocolate and cinnamon buns are highly recommended. The setting is described as incredible with a friendly team that provides excellent service even during busy times.
Had a great visit to KNEAD today and enjoy a Flat White and then a Latte as the coffee was that good!!! Best coffee I have had whilst visiting from the US! Never been here before but it was recommended so we gave it a try. Menu was varied and prices reasonable, we all chose the chorizo toast which took about 10 minutes to arrive after we found a seat (though it went on a brief detour as wrong buzzer number on ticket) food was delicious and disappeared quickly. We then decided on cake as we were here to celebrate 2 birthdays and that didn't disappoint either. Would we visit again? Most definitely yes

No doubt the croissant is tasty but over £11 for two cups of tea and a croissant eaten sat next to an almost dead olive tree in a slightly mouldy and over dry pot, really is not acceptable. If you can, try other places as this place is getting complacent.

Pastries and coffee are nice. The vibe is nice. However did not enjoy the eggs Benedict. My brioche toast was only toasted on 1 side, which meant it was soggy ,the ham hock terrine does not really go with the warm parts. Overall nice place, but disappointed with the food. Not on a par with woodcraft in Cheltenham.

Jrool Bistro is a charming hideaway in Stroud that offers a delightful experience. The bar service is excellent, and the young and capable staff ensure a pleasant visit. The courtyard garden provides a lovely setting to enjoy drinks or meals. The food from the kitchen is of high quality, as evidenced by the delicious bacon, brie, and cranberry sandwich with crisps and coleslaw, as well as the tasty prawn cocktails.
Had a lovely lunch/breakfast on Saturday lunch time. Great full English. Great hot chocolate. Great prices. Great staff. We'll definitely be back!

We held a birthday party here. Steve replied to all enquiries and provided a great service. They even took care of the decorations. The buffet was superb and nothing skimped. It seemed really nice they all really enjoyed providing the hospitality. Thanks Chris & Alex. Thank you Steve and Jools

Julie and Steve have the best food and hospitality. We were only passing through but would definitely return if we are ever in the area. Great value, delicious food.

Called in here on Saturday for a drink with my wife and a friend having seen their posts on Facebook. We sat in the courtyard garden and ordered drinks from the young, but highly capable staff. We saw others having lunch and, seeing the quality coming out of the kitchen, decided we would too. We ordered the bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich which came with crisps and coleslaw and two prawn cocktails. They were all delicious! This place is also dog friendly and our dog was offered a gluten free sausage on the house. We also met the owners who came over to have a chat. All in all this was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend a visit.

We first stumbled across this restaurant during the fringe festival back in August when we moved here. We liked it so much, we went back on the second day. We've been back to visit a couple of times since and everything is as perfect as it was then. The customer service is always outstanding, the food is super scrummy, we just wish you were open more often! Thank you for your amazing hospitality and super tasty food!

Great drinks, reasonably priced, and so much more. The owners Julie and Steve are so friendly and are truly special. I came into town on foot with two bags on my shoulders and stopped in for Wi-Fi and a beer. I ended up talking with them for over an hour just laughing away. They called me a cab so I wouldn’t have to walk to my air B and B. I felt so welcomed, tourists and locals alike must check out this place!

What a joy to begin shopping with space to move and explore. Sadly, this soon goes as left srock containers block access later. Otherwise, it's very clean and tidy. Buying the exact same products- as I might in Tesco (never mind Aldi), proved pricier. Decent alternative range of products but not overwhelming.
Anthony H — Google review
I wonder if the store manager is aware that, when discounted stock is put out, the staff that put it out prevent customers from touching it until an elderly member of staff (who is never in uniform) has taken what he wants. They're also incredibly rude about it, despite the fact that he's not in uniform so he is a customer just as much as everyone else, and it happens every time we're in there in the evening!
CapeWherm G — Google review
Well I haven't seen these [Salmon Heads] before so I'm going to try them. EDIT - very little edible on them UPDATE - the café has closed as expected and been "converted" to a retail area. Looks dreadful!
David J — Google review
What has happened to this place, shelves empty, meat section bare, hot food section bare, the whole store looks more like a mini mart than a national supermarket. I understand the cafe closing but turning it into a clearance section which no one sees until they are through the checkout and leaving. Not a very good experience and not good on the eye. You can see why the shop was not very busy.
Mark A — Google review
This store has gone downhill over the years. I am a regular customer that will no longer be visiting. Regularly out of stock of items. There are a lot of different brands of the same thing but not a lot of selection. Fresh fruit quality has fallen if a cliff in the last year. It’s getting expensive when compared with the likes of Lidl and Aldi The cafe closing was the final straw. The only reason we went was for the reasonably priced breakfasts we could get before shopping. There is literally no reason to go any more.
Michael B — Google review
Just been rudely kicked out when waiting for a friend outside the shop. Shop security seems bored and pass the time by harassing someone who's minding their business and just on their phone outside the shop. Coffee shop seems always closed, so there's nowhere else to sit down and wait.
Yurato S — Google review
Need to check fresh produce as dates are quite short on some things and items sometimes already on the turn, very poor vegetarian section, more expensive than other supermarkets, staff very low morale

Nestled in the picturesque countryside, Daylesford Organic is a delightful café-deli that exudes a chic ambiance while prioritizing sustainability. The Trough, an elegantly renovated barn on-site, boasts high ceilings and a light-filled atmosphere. This charming eatery was awarded a Michelin Green Star in 2021 for its commitment to using locally sourced ingredients from their own farm.
The most beautiful garden centre I’ve ever visited Daylesford Garden Centre is, without doubt, the most beautiful garden centre I’ve ever been to. Every detail has been so thoughtfully set up and considered — from the layout and design to the way each item is curated and displayed. What I love most is that everything here has a story rooted in organic, local farming — whether it’s the vibrant cut flowers, the seasonal produce, or even the pots of jam. There’s such a strong sense of care, sustainability, and authenticity that runs through it all. I discovered the geranium candle in the Fox restaurant and couldn’t leave Daylesford without buying one — it smells absolutely delightful and instantly reminds me of the calm and beauty of Daylesford. Also, don’t miss the outdoor coffee spot. It’s the perfect way to take in the scenery and enjoy a peaceful moment surrounded by nature. A truly special place.

Absolutely loved everything about this place. Such a cool spot to visit. Loads of high quality produce to buy. You could spend a small fortune here. Had a nice breakfast here, wasn't the biggest fan of the full breakfast but the other things we had were great. 100% a must visit if your in the Cotswolds.
Joe S — Google review
Great setup…but sadly out of touch and missed the mark. The deli and shop are well stocked and set out nicely but you pay a premium but that’s understandable with locally sourced items. The restaurant was a let down. Sat down bang on 11am and was told it was only a lunch menu. Fair enough… places have their rules… but it was a minimal menu and no sign of a brunch option for those who wanted it. Very bizarre choice seeing as the restaurant was filled with people sat with cups of coffee… presumably still in a morning/breakfast mood… no surprise there. Nail in the coffin was seeing a large table served a load of pastries. The food we got was okay and good baby changing facilities. I guess my grumpy old man era has started.

A wonderful afternoon being immersed in the beautiful ambience of Daylesford. It’s like a mini village with lots of different areas to peruse. It’s all dog friendly and they have water bowls for them. We had a light lunch at the cafe which was super delicious. We watched the chef create our rosemary & garlic flat bread. It was fresh and crispy, and we loved it!! The service was very good and professional! We’re looking forward to returning in the future!!
Elisa W — Google review
It’s really hard to say anything negative about the whole Daylesford institution - only speaking about the products, the restaurant and garden shop. I am not here to make comments about the owners political or ethical motivations. You have to accept that the whole “farm” (it’s feels weird since it’s way more than that) is just beautiful almost uniquely build, looked after and managed. It’s not a place for nature loving simple people, it’s for the elite and the ones trying to be one. It’s whole purpose is meaningless, but the pretty looking veggies, well prepared meats, lovely smelling candles and sweet jams are there anyway and will be bought by the ones who don’t even look at prices. It‘s very hard to give something so well good looking 3 stars, but hey, I am here for my honest opinion. When standing between £7 jam and vitamin pills branded by daylesford there is no „farm“ or any nature to feel, even when stepping outside into the beautifully selected garden shop . It’s capitalism played to perfection.
Niki — Google review
Daylesford is absolutely stunning — beautifully designed, immaculate, and full of gorgeous things. It’s also wildly expensive, but that’s very much part of what you expect here. We picked up a few lovely items, but unless you’ve got family in the oil business, you won’t be doing your weekly shop. The restaurant was also excellent, with top-quality food and service — though, unsurprisingly, the prices matched the surroundings. A real treat, but definitely one for special occasions rather than everyday shopping.
Tom H — Google review
Delightful farm shop with lovely products. Very pricy, but lovely to look around. I bought a gorgeous vine tomato candle and had to remortgage my house. Lots of parking outside and no queue to go in. We couldn’t get in to the restaurant as there was a queue and they had stopped serving.
Rachel W — Google review
I visited Daylesford Organic out of curiosity, but left with a heavy sense of disappointment. Yes, the setting is elegant and picture-perfect, but much of it felt performative — more about branding than true substance. Prices are steep even for an organic farm shop, and the presence of items like Brooklyn Beckham’s hot sauce (which lacks any visible organic certification) raises questions about how selective the brand really is when it comes to its values. What bothered me more, though, was the atmosphere. As a non-UK national with an accent, I felt quietly looked down on. The difference was subtle but clear — in London, I’ve never felt this way. Here, outside the city, I couldn’t shake the feeling that if you didn’t fit a certain image, you simply didn’t belong. This wasn’t just about customer service — it was the overall attitude. If you’re not part of the target demographic — affluent, local, and polished — you may sense it too. For me, the experience felt more like a curated lifestyle showroom than a genuine, inclusive farm shop. Not worth the detour.

Stroud Brewery & Taproom is a vibrant hub for beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike, nestled in the heart of Stroud. Established in 2006 by Greg Pilley, this brewery began as a passion project aimed at crafting exceptional beers while promoting sustainability. Today, it stands as a beloved local landmark offering an impressive array of organic dishes alongside its brews. Visitors can indulge in wood-fired pizzas, locally sourced burgers, and delightful small plates throughout the week.
Visited on a Friday late afternoon (4:30pm) whilst on holiday in the area. The atmosphere is warm and cosy and we were greeted with a smile by all staff. We'd booked ahead and requested room for a pushchair so we were shown to a booth. Great beer selection and a great food menu - both the usual menu and pizza were being served at the time we went. The food was really tasty and so nice to read about how locally the produce is sourced. We will 100% visit again and would recommend to others.

I was taken to Stroud brewery by a local. I am a fan of craft beer and cider and this place will not disappoint! They have a main tab room bar. Bench style Bavarian seating with some booths and an open kitchen (serving hundreds of wood fire pizzas which looked amazing) It has welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and a range of non beer drinks from those who aren’t beer lovers. What I liked is that there was a range of strengths in the beers served. On tap were a 0.5 and 2.5 beer to offer less boozy options. The beers made on site are great. The wheat beer special was a real highlight for me, on par with the European wheat beers in Germany / Belgium. The 2.5 season citrus beer was also very quaffable. What makes this place is community. There are postered everywhere for local clubs, bands, associations and events. My friend tells me they hosted Stroud Pride and I saw yoga, gigs, reading clubs all advertised. The outside area on the canal is well thought out and will be amazing in the summer and there is a balcony bar upstairs. (Booked for a wedding) Highly recommend as a place to spend an afternoon at the weekend. They also showed the six nations so it’s always a good place in my book ;). Will look to return when visiting again.

My first ever visit here my partner had researched to visit whilst we were walking the canal. Very different and unique and I particularly like the vibe. Plenty of posters of events on which I will be attending. We were able to order food even though it was a Saturday afternoon and found a table, ordered pizza which was very nice. Wasn't the greatest coffee I've had if I am honest could be improved. Toilets were quirky and clean. My only gripe I don't know if it had been a busy day but staff did not seem overly enthusiastic, not a single smile, even walking in and leaving passed several staff no acknowledgement, now normally I would walk right out at such things but put it down to being a Saturday afternoon, but could do with improving you never know who is walking in that door or leaving and what kind of Google reviewer they are!!😉 I will be returning though

Absolutely fantastic venue. We had the pulled pork rolls which were amazing. They even catered for vegans and coeliacs. Planned family meeting for early dinner on Saturday night. No pork or chicken dishes were available for any menu item, which limited our choices severely. The Brewery was busy and had a great atmosphere but the food experience was slightly disappointing and service was very slow, even at only 6pm. Drinks, as expected, were fine!

Nestled on Gloucester Road, the Queen Vic Stroud stands out as a beloved local pub that has played a significant role in shaping the town's vibrant drinking culture. As one of the few remaining establishments dedicated to real ale, it offers patrons an inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options in a charming courtyard. The pub boasts an impressive selection of drinks, including real ales, lagers, spirits, and cocktails.
Really lovely bar lady not many people there but we were made to feel welcome

Rough, poorly decorated sports style pub which has the worst colour scheme I have seen in a pub for some time. No food available, not really children or woman friendly. Bare with no atmosphere and completely taken over by TV screens at each end of the Bar. It’s such a shame as the location is really central the building is historic and could have been renovated in a really sympathetic way but they’ve done the opposite. The owners haven’t got a clue 🤦‍♀️ Even the owners dogs didn’t look like they wanted to be there…

Real ale in good company. A great place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of a genuine British pub. Even though I was the only Australian in the place while the battle for the Ashes was on the telly, the banter was friendly, the locals welcoming and cheery. The White Spoon is a relaxed and unpretentious restaurant in the heart of Cheltenham, offering a modern approach to fine dining. Led by Chef Director Chris White and partner Purdey Spooner, the eatery celebrates its first year with a focus on elevating individual flavors using modern techniques while maintaining the original charm of the ingredients. The menu is not your average fare, featuring delightful and creatively presented dishes that may require some guidance from the attentive waiting staff.
It was my birthday and unfortunately I wasn't feeling great at all, but my day was transformed by a fantastic visit to The White Spoon (and two large bloody Marys) The staff were warm and welcoming, wishing me a happy birthday and remembering my partner's dietary requirements. Lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Very quiet, only 2 tables occupied. Ordered the Lunch set for £12 for two courses. Ordered the tomato starter with the slow cooked hen main. Food was simple but very tasty. The broth that came with the slow cooked egg was a little salty for my palate, but then again that is just a personal preference. Staff attentive and helpful. Good view of the church and its gardens. Would recommend.

I have been 4 times before and always had a good time. Previously I have always had the tasting menu which was great. This time I had the lunch menu. My girlfriend and her mother ordered from the cheaper lunch set menu and they thought it was good. I ordered from the standard lunch menu. I had the Ox cheek to start and the duck for main. It was alright. I just felt a little disappointed compared to my previous visits. Other than that, the service was great as always. And the timing was amazing as we had 3 courses in just over an hour. But there was only 1 other table in at the time.
Colin B — Google review
I am sure this restaurant can be good, I would have no argument with good reviews. Sadly though, on the night, they came up short. It started well, the staff were polite and attentive. It developed into a busy Saturday night and the service dropped off as they evening progressed, to the point it was 10 to 15 mins between visits to the table. The wine was just cold enough but the food was cool to cold. Plates went back. The bill arrived with no deductions until we suggested a discount was called for. Shame as the food looked good, and when hot, tasted fine.

Had dinner here with a group of 6 and everything we tried (more than half the menu in aggregate) was delicious, well prepared / presented with fresh ingredients. In particular, the lobster with watermelon dish and apricot soufflé were outstanding. Service was friendly / warm and the wine list was reasonable. Highly recommended.

Great, inspired food. Delightful place in the centre of Cheltenham, but tucked out of the way down an alleyway. English contemporary. Menu is not your average menu: expect to study the menu and ask questions. Delightfully presented dishes. Waiting staff are very helpful. Dishes arrive on the table with a full description in case you forget the detail of what you ordered. Wine list is full, ranges from reasonably priced wines, to unreasonably priced. I enjoyed the Portuguese Touriga. This place is new, starting to get busy. Definitely visit before everyone finds out about it.

Solid Tex-Mex option. Had my usual naked burrito with rice/black beans/shredded beef. Both flavour and portion size were really good, though I always hope for more cheese options. Service was brilliant, they perfectly followed my requests, which is not always the case. Not related to this specific restaurant but seating is shared across all the units in the indoor market, and can be a bit hit and miss. It does get quite busy during dinnertime/weekends and might be difficult to find a table if you're with a group.

I hardly give 5* but this is a neat place with friendly staff who solve your questions very friendly, and the food is great and good portions, especially the beef burrito. I was surprised of the quality of the meat which is not usually good in this kind of restaurants). If I have to say something bad I'd say that the chairs are not very comfortable and there is no air conditioner.

I went for a chicken Burito, with salad, rice, sauce and quacamola. Very tasty. Now being overly critically, I'm a fan of lemon in qucamola, that would be a minor improvement, I may be corrected and told that isn't how the dish is designed to be, but just my personal preference. Also may be interesting idea to use a panni presh on the burito's to give a little extra texture with slightly crimping the edges and getting the lines along from machine line char grilling vegetables or grilling meat. Those 2 small things I'd personally experiment with; but equally was nice how it was. Very tasty I'd definitely recommend to others and be back again for another one, maybe trying beef burito, next time or some of the quesadillas.

The best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to! I tried the burrito — the taste was flawless, and the burrito itself was really big.

The pies are great. What really made it for us was the very friendly & helpful lady who took care of us. She was brilliant! Pie minister are lucky to have her. Andrea & Paul visiting from Norwich

Food: The food was quite a letdown. The pies were reassuringly crispy with good pastry, but the filling of the Heidi and Shroom were quite bland and didn’t taste great. The Freeranger was apparently nice. The chips were a bit soggy and cold despite a short drive home, were not seasoned and the oil could have been fresher. The gravy did not taste nice to any of us at all. The mushy peas were decent enough. Portion sizes were large and good value for money (a pie and 2 sides for £10), but not particularly good. All in all, it was a bit of a letdown and I would not order again. Service: The service was not particularly good. Upon arriving I was told it would be an 11 minute wait. It ended up being closer to 20. For the most part there was no-one at the bar, and the guy who was didn’t communicate particularly well, but did warn which bag the gravy was in, so that I did not spill it. More attentive and friendly service would make a big improvement. Atmosphere: The vibe of The Queens arms was quite claustrophobic, largely due to the regulars who were already quite drunk by 7:30pm and very loud. Despite it being largely empty, the tables were quite sticky and could have been cleaned better. They seem to offer a good selection of alcoholic drinks and the pub itself is a beautiful, traditional pub made cosy with fairy lights. However the atmosphere upon entering was quite unwelcoming, particularly in comparison to other Herefordshire pubs.

Wow! This exceeded all expectations. We booked this for our son's 10th birthday lunch while on a long journey. The £5 value menu was utterly perfect for the birthday lunch at a very reasonable price. The staff made a fuss of the birthday boy and even wrote him a little card which meant a lot to him. Claire was an especially kind and helpful member of staff and really went above and beyond to make the birthday meal special. We will definitely be going back to more Brewers Fayre establishments as a result of this great experience. 😍

Awful. We booked a table for Sunday carvery. Went up to carvery and the food in display was awful. Potatoes were white and not at all roast potatoes. They had a while flake all over them like they had been left to dry in the sun. The mash potatoes looked like putty in a bowl. The meat beef was black and burnt with just ends left and what gammon there...was just string and shreds drying up. The carrots were white. The parsnips and the stuffing were dark brown and burnt. They wouldn't even be edible. The only nice thing about the place was the waitress that took us to he table. We ended up walking out. I wouldn't even serve my animals that food

If you can't cook a egg you shouldn't be a chef. My wife had a poached egg and it looked like it barely touched a poaching pan. Asked for a new one and it was basically the same. Feel sorry for whoever has to eats this person's food as clearly they cannot cook. Waitresses were lovely though

Me and my family went in and ordered quickly as we knew what we wanted, the mixed grill, we waited for around an hour for the food to arrive and it was awful. Burnt chips, uncooked peas, overcooked onion rings and the meat was the worst. I ordered rare and it was incinerated, the chicken was so dry I nearly choked on it, and the gammon was the most plain thing ever. The tables and chairs were filthy the staff were unprofessional and I couldn't even finish my meal it was so bad. Never going again.

Six of us came for Mother’s Day. We had a mums eat free voucher sent through to us so we knew it was going to be busy. We arrived early so our table wasn’t quite ready but the lady with red hair (sorry didn’t get name) quickly took us to a table what was ready. Becky took our order and made our drinks efficiently then the gentleman on the carvery was making us laugh and speaking with my son who has multiple disabilities. I always get anxious about planning for meals out because I don’t know how my son will react to the surroundings. The way we were looked after and treated by the staff was so lovely and refreshing when they were busy. We will definitely be coming more often :)

Concorde Brewers Fayre is a relaxed family-friendly pub and restaurant chain that serves up a delightful mix of classic dishes and international favorites. One standout recommendation from the Kitchen Manager is the Smothered Chicken Burger, which has become a favorite among diners. If you have room for dessert, be sure to indulge in their delectable offerings like Caramel Apple Betty or Sticky Toffee Pudding.
From the outside the Concorde doesn't look very inviting. It looks dated and the Brewers Fayre canopy's over the window are dirty and stained. The brown tints on the windows are also dated and old fashioned. But despite this, inside it's actually very clean and bright, there's a real friendly atmosphere and the food was served quickly without any faults, the food tasted as you'd expect and I couldn't have asked for more. The staff member that served us throughout the whole visit was an absolute gem. He was super friendly, funny and just made you feel real at ease. He was accommodating and attentive, everything you could want in a staff member!! He provided excellent service. I wasn't expecting much based off the reviews for the Brewers Fayre Concorde, but I couldn't of been more wrong, and I do this a lot!!

Simple and well priced. Sadly the kitchen closed at 8.45pm on the evening I visited - had KFC from across the car park. But had a beer in here. Quiet and relaxed. Edit - Next morning. This is where you have breakfast if you stay at the Premier Inn next door. And like all Premier Inns they do a great breakfast. And have to give a positive comment on the breakfast waiting staff.

Amazing value for money, especially if you have children. £9.99 for all you can eat breakfast (including juice, tea and coffee) and two children eat free with each paying adult. Absolute bargain!

Our first visit here on a Sunday afternoon, we came in for a roast dinner. On arrival, service was excellent, the waiters were very informative and helpful. We ordered 2 large roast beef dinners for the low sum of around £10 each. We couldn't fault the food, great portions and very tasty. We were bought extra gravy on request and we could have had unlimited refill on the roast potatoes and yorkshires if we weren't full. We did make room for dessert though which was also delicious. After we received our mains, the level of service did drop as staff changed shifts and it was difficult to get attention of the waiters despite the very low volume of diners. In the end we were in the restaurant for almost 2 hours and should have been done in just 1. Couldn't fault the food and value, and I'm sure we'll be returning again soon.

Breakfast - £9.99 for self-serve all you can eat and kids eat free. What's not to like? Ate here Saturday 8th April. The food was good, especially for a breakfast buffet. Decent quality with a good, herby taste to the sausage. All.of the food was hot, and even the scrambled eggs were decently cooked - hard to do when they have to stay under the lights. Good selection at the continental section or crumpets, oven-bottom muffins, bread, American pancakes, blueberry muffins / cup cakes, croissants, pain-aux-chocolat. The pastries were nicely flaky.and tasted good. Plenty of choice for cereals and fruits, including fruit salad or fresh whole fruits. Tea, including speciality teas and a bean-to-cup coffee machine all.included in the price. The place was clean, and the staff friendly. Plenty of people seemed to be enjoying their breakfast although it wasn't packed. Definitely worth a visit.

Really poor for a premier inn breakfast. I was very disappointed with this breakfast yesterday. The girl behind the bar was kind but the blonde girl behind the hot plate was rude. Food was lacking and not replenished. Over cooked (see photo) and dirty plates. Main reason for this was lack of staff. Three people were needed rather than two. Only had sundae (long spoons) for a cup of tea which is dangerous. Toaster took 3 attempts before the toast was toasted. Won't go here again - very let down.

The Al's Plaice takeaway is a top-quality restaurant with delicious fish and chips. It can be busy, but the staff are always polite and willing to help. The food is fresh and never disappointing.
Me and partner have recently moved to coleford and have visited on several occasions and generally had the cod bites meal it's always cooked fresh to order. Customer service is extremely good and you are kept informed the whole time while waiting for you food. Tonight my partner and daughter where out for dinner so I decided I would treat myself too I tried the chicken nuggets they were not like a nugget you get from that well know fast food chain. The chicken was so tender it melted in my mouth with crispy batter. Look forward to trying more of the menu

Best fish and chips in the forest. Always a treat to have a meal from Al's Plaice, and we have had many a lovely meal from here when visiting my grandparents who lived nearby and particularly enjoyed the food. This evening we had a family gathering at my grandparents home after my grandfathers funeral and we placed a large order for collection. Once we got home whilst we were unpacking, the lovely staff realised before we did that a couple of items had been missed when we collected. They called to tell us and very kindly delivered the missing items to us. Always lovely service and delicious food from here, highly recommend.

Highly recommend Als plaice. First time having a gluten free takeaway and I can’t recommend this place enough. From the moment we walked in we was welcomed the owner even took the time to talk me through how everything gluten is kept separate, I can’t thank him enough for taking the time to do that. Husband loved the wrap meal and said it was the best thing, I highly recommend. Thank you.

Hopefully we just had a bad day for Al's. The fish was expensive, very small and dry, the chips soggy, the curry sauce lumpy, mushy peas were nice but missing one of the two pots we had paid for, so, that's annoying! On holiday so fortunately, there's no need for us to go back!

Great chips but the batter on the fish is terrible, soggy greasy sponge. I am not sure what the problem is but the fish comes in batter that looks brown and appetising but inside is thick soggy and full of oil. Like supermarket frozen fried fish. Horrible.

Marios Fish Bar is a renowned fish and chip shop in Bristol with over 20 years of experience. They prioritize using local and sustainable produce, offering an extensive menu that includes their signature homemade Cod Fish Cake and a seafood sharing basket. Customers praise the quality of their food, with particular highlights being the generous portions, fresh haddock, and vegetarian options like battered halloumi and garlic mushrooms.
I never normally leave reviews, I can’t be arsed generally, but I have come on especially to give credit where it’s due. Mario’s is now our go-to location for fish and chips. We have ordered around 6 times, and every single time the food has been absolutely superb. The haddock is always chunky and fresh, with more fish than batter , and you get a huge portion of chips. The delivery is usually very quick, and the food is still hot when it arrives. All in all, a fantastic plaice…(see what I did there?) We would never go anywhere else now.

Ordered food for collection at 17.20 and told for 2 fish and one medium chips collection time would be 18.50. Food not ready or cooked on arrival had to wait till 19.15. People queued were served quicker than orders placed. Obviously they don’t care as all ready had your payment complete disgrace

Great burger, great cod bites, great customer service! Just not a fan of the chips here, a bit of a boring taste. Nail the chips though and this is a 5 star chippy with delivery and vegan options. Edit : the chips have been improved and so has the curry sauce so I'm changing to 5 stars.

I really don’t understand the reviews for this place. I’ve had the large cod and chips 3 weeks running and the fish is mediocre at best. Small flakes that are frequently tough to eat and the batter is incredibly greasy. The chips are ok but not the best. Sadly I will have to look elsewhere.

I'm not local to the area, so I don't know why this place has such a high rating. The locals clearly don't know GOOD fried fish and chips Service was good, but the food let's it down. For £7.20 I expect a larger piece of fish.I know fish is expensive but come on. The biggest letdown with this place is how DRY and tastless the chips are. I don't mind paying if quality is there. Loading up with massive portions of chips is not going to cover up the tasteless and dryness of the chips; it only makes my mouth dry like sand! Change your potatoes or learn how to deep fry properly!

Ruddy's, what a Ruddy good chip shop! Chips were perfect and just how I like them, juicy and not hard, dry and crispy like a lot of other chip shops. The sausage was very nice and the gravy was spot on. What a brilliant find and I definitely recommend 💯👍🏻

Just been to other fish and chip shop in Cinderford few weeks ago, and left them a comment, I must say this is far better, I ordered fish and chips, meat patty and curry sauce. Fish and chips was nice and I was surprise to see that they still do meat patty, as not many chip shops still do it as this is a very traditional item. It has to be my highlight of the day, bringing back lots of happy memories from the past. I would've gave them 5 stars, but unfortunately I didn't like the curry sauce that much, as they seemed to put too much curry powder in it, because it tasted very bitter and lacked of sweetness, which ruined half my meal as I already poured it on half of my meal.

Lovely fish and chips really nice fish and chips which is quite rare as it's usually one or the other, I read the other reviews and someone made a complaint about small portions of chips, I think the portions are absolutely perfect. Been using Ruddy's fish and chips for the pasted 6 years and loved the place the food and the staff. Felt let down with the food especially the fish since they reopened this year. The fish is very very dry and the batter is always dark as if the oil has not been changed. I understand the owner and main fryer has passed away recently R.I.P not sure if this has caused the changes but needs addressing. Finding it hard to revisit this wonderful place. 3 out of 10 at present.

I’ve used ruddys many times over the years and have always been very happy. Today as a treat for myself I brought a fish and chips opened them when I got home they were still lovely and hot but sadly the fish tasted like it had been cooked in old oil as tasted burnt so it went in the bin gutted as was a treat after running a marathon on the weekend and it went to waste. I wanted to give Clock Tower Fish Bar 5 stars as the food was great, chips tasted crispy and fluffy inside, Irish curry sauce was rich, creamy with a good amount of hotness and the vegan battered sausage, the batter was light, taste was fantastic. The place felt a little dated and a little dirty. A cook came from the back, he had a cold or something and not once but twice swiped his nose in his fingers and then without washing his hands proceeded to handle food and serve a customer. Luckily it wasn't us. The server was pleasant, obviously saw us looking at the vegan menu, went to the counter and told he would take our order soon, waited about 3-5 minutes which is fine. I said I'd like to order from the vegan menu, he turned to the other guy and asked if vegan menu was on. The guy said chips, Irish curry sauce and sausage /battered sausage, this was great, as its definitely more than other chips shops. Food tasted great, would recommend chips, Irish curry sauce and battered sausage. Fantastic that they have a vegan menu. Overall was good experience.

Food and drink 9/10 Service 7/10 Decor and atmosphere: 6/10 Service speed 8/10 Cost 7/10 The best: Being from NZ I haven't been able to find a decent fish and chips in the UK until now! The worst: Small menu but I guess you are really here for only one reason. Price isn't cheap but on par with other places which serve up average food. The lowdown: The cod is fresh with big chunky flakes in a top notch batter. Chips? Well they are hand cut and smooth... It's almost like mashed potato on the inside! Chips are chips but these guys do em good! Place itself is a bit bleak but you probably aren't planning on dining in and will take away. Will be my go to spot for my cravings.

We recently bought fish and chips at the clock tower and it was really nice. The batter was crispy, chips were lovely and fluffy on the inside, and the temperature was still good by the time we drove home. The place is really clean, and offers seating if needed. am VERY fussy with Chinese food. Growing up eating a lot of authentic meals, working in takeaways. I know great from average. This is the BEST Chinese takeaway I’ve come across. The service is always excellent, food is always piping hot, very good portion sizes. It’s the only affordable Chinese that’s excellent quality! The quality of the meat is unlike any other I’ve tried. Everything tastes much fresher, not overly chewy or “old”. Never had a bad meal from here. I go as far to say If it’s closed, we won’t even go anywhere else for one day. Honestly just order here! You will not regret it Also best salt and pepper chicken! Beats all the restaurants for sure

Totally disappointed with food. I don't understand how people leaving good reviews. Obviously all food was cooked and frozen and then before serving just reheated. Salt and pepper chicken wings tasted good but seemed a bit black colored for keeping long time in freezer. Salt and pepper shredded Chilli beef was dry and tasteless. Salt and pepper squid was absolutely awfull they were chewy and tasted like eating cars tyre(rubber). Chicken chow may was absolutely dry (pasta) and and very little chicken you can find was so so. The only nice thing was Salt and pepper chips. I don't recommend you to go there and I know I'm never going there my self. Spent 50 quid ish and it was absolutely waste of money. Another thing why I think all food is frozen as we put big order and it was ready in few minutes

What happened? This was really good some time ago, fresh ingredients, tasty dishes etc... Had sweet and sour pork few weeks ago that was so sour it tasted like something soaked in vinegar , couldn't eat it. Today tried barbecue spare ribs, and again there was no taste of meat or sauce or nothing other then overbearing salt. Again went in the bin. Twice in a row now I have wasted my money here. Won't be a customer again unless things get back on track. Pretty abysmal currently.
