With its inviting fireplace and classic furnishings adorned with candles, it creates a cozy atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a long day. This traditional British pub boasts an impressive selection of local beers on tap, including hand-pulled ales that are sure to please any beer enthusiast.
1st experience of the White Hart and wow fantastic We unfortunately missed the beef Sunday dinner but the lady behind the bar suggested the pork dinner And wow it was perfect 10 out 10. Highly recommend the place very friendly and the right atmosphere! Definitely be coming back

The atmosphere and aesthetic was amazing with plenty of seating, service whilst slow was incredibly friendly. Food took a very long time to cook and, unfortunately wasn’t worth the wait. Burger was dry with juice or flavour, buns were flattened, the cheese was burnt and very little portion size for the fries.

A comfortable and welcoming pub located in town with street parking nearby. The food and service was superb, thank you
Malcolm B — Google review
Had a colleagues leaving do here this afternoon. Staff couldn't do enough to help with the planning and on the day. Food was absolutely fantastic, high quality beautiful hot and cold grazing boards. We couldn't have been looked after us better! (We even asked about booking in for Christmas whole we were there as we had such a lovely afternoon!) Thank you so much.

Lovely pub in a cosy area in Loughborough. Good selection of draft beers
Hans S — Google review
Food is good; particularly Sunday dinner and Sunday BBQs. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. It's a really good solution when you have no functioning cooker.
Beth C — Google review
This place makes for a fantastic night!!! Very friendly and helpful staff. The owners are also legendary! Played a gig here at the Club Tropicana event in my band the 80’s Revellers. The audience were well up for it, dancing and rocking out all evening, and that is what we strive for! Would love to play here again very soon! There’s a really nice atmosphere to the pub in general both inside and out but it’s particularly lovely outside when the sun’s out! ☀️

Jam Garden in Loughborough is a vibrant and trendy diner offering a diverse bistro menu with weekly specials. It's known for having one of the best beer gardens in town, making it a popular spot for students. The restaurant serves pizzas, small plates, pints, cocktails, and sweet treats. They have enticing offers like Happy Hour from Sunday to Friday and a 2-for-10 cocktails deal at specific times. Visitors praise the friendly service and recommend trying the delicious pizza deals.
Fantastic afternoon! Great music and atmosphere. Beyond me why there’s no cover in the outdoor area it would have made all the difference!

From the moment we stepped over the threshold we were made so welcome - especially Oscar the dog! Highlights - an attractive, relaxing look with comfortable seating. Decent sized toilet cubicles with hand painted decor and good toilet paper. Fresh, promptly served drinks. Tanya was especially helpful, making us feel like we were in her dining room! Jamie, the chef made us delicious flat breads. I wanted to be awkward changing around toppings but it was no trouble at all! A thoroughly enjoyable lunchtime. Next time we're visiting from Scotland we'll be making a bee line for the Jam Garden!

Two for one in pizzas on Mondays. Quite lively because of the students, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Tania and Dylan were a good team

The pizza from Lil was absolutely immense and brilliant service from Leo. The rest of the staff were also so lovely and friendly and made it so accommodating!

We come here nearly every week and it's always amazing. Lovely list of cocktails and spirits and the quiz is great on Thursdays !!
Lizzie T — Google review
Great pub with very nice garden. I loved coming here for the pub quiz almost every Wednesday for a year. I've been to different pub quizes, but this is the best one in Loughborough for sure. But make sure you book a table on time, it can get crowded for the quiz. Also one of my favourite gardens when it's sunny. The pizzas and garlic bread are very good. Decent selection of drinks.
Hajrudin S — Google review
Great local spot with excellent beer garden. There's also a large indoor area that feels very homely. Pizzas are the speciality and they're some of the best I've had in Loughborough, the chef and waiting team are very welcoming and attentive.

I came here in a group of 16, and we were treated so well. Tania was so lovely and attentive to our group, who were in Loughborough for a sports competition. It's also really friendly for LGBTQ+ people and highly recommend it to anyone for the great atmosphere and service.

Nestled in the heart of Loughborough, The Griffin is a charming pub that perfectly captures the essence of community and camaraderie. With its inviting atmosphere adorned with framed pictures and multiple TVs showcasing live sports, it’s an ideal spot to unwind after a day of exploring. Whether you're looking to enjoy delicious pub grub or simply sip on your favorite drink, this establishment caters to everyone—from students seeking a casual hangout to locals ready for a lively night out.
This place we discovered just by luck and definitely recommending! Absolutely amazing atmosphere, felt welcomed, food was wonderfully delicious, lots of different draft beers, clean bathrooms, and board games. We will return . Parking was easy, just behind the pub, we paid a ticket for two hours which cost £2 after 6 pm. Thank you so much for such a wonderful food ! 😋 😋 😋

Came in here to get lunch. Menu is Billy basics with light bites and lots burgers. Burgers all sound nice so choose one of them and a sandwich for my partner. Food was nice but nothing special. The staff member that served me had zero personality, no smile or interaction apart from the very basics to get my order. The venue itself is quite large inside and in good order with a mix of comfy seats and standard chairs with plenty of spaces to sit. The outside area is huge for town centre bar, which I can imagine is nice to sit out in during summer. Would I recommend visiting it. No I wouldn't, but I also wouldn't say stay from it either.
Solitaire — Google review
Everything was nice except the ventilation. The first thing that struck us as we walked in was the stuffy smell and still air. I understand that the windows were closed to keep the warmth inside but it wasn’t great for the air quality. Anyway, food, drink, and reception were pleasant and warm. Overall, we enjoyed spending time there.
Soonyata M — Google review
Ordered a meal for 5 - one dish missing - queried with server - told both portions of the chicken had been put into one basket. Asked why as it was two separate items for two people - got a grunt and a shrug of the shoulders and told I checked with the kitchen and that’s how it’s served. Won’t be eating or drinking there again - their loss not ours.
Lynn D — Google review
We came in on a Sunday afternoon for a bit of lunch and the food came pretty quickly. However it was not of high quality at all. I ordered a pizza and it came out completely burnt on the edges and appears to be from the freezer. Two friends ordered beer battered onion rings, the only ones on the menu. The first batch came out with the food quickly but the second lot came a bit later, and as seen from the photo, definitely not beer battered. We asked why we had been given obviously frozen onion rings and there was no clear answer other than they had run out? But surely beer battered onion rings should be made fresh? Or at least can be made fresh to order. Either way no apology was given and we're left very confused as to why we've been given food we never ordered, or at least a refund. Also the beans from the jacket potato were cold. Disappointed. Edit: We managed to speak to the manager who was very helpful and swiftly agreed to a refund for the onion rings.
Ryan R — Google review
Came here yesterday afternoon with some mates for a few drinks. The service behind the bar was bad. The two young lads serving looked at me like they wanted to kill me! No greeting, no smiles, no please or thank you. Just blunt and rude. Felt like I was a hindrance for just ordering drinks. My view was echoed by some of my friends when they got served too. Shame. Nice place with good selection of drinks and big screen for the football. Every cloud..
J B — Google review
shocking service - 5 of us for lunch we ordered a range of food, small plates and sharers, when the food came it was all mixed up and the server didnt tell us what they had brought so we were left guessing, when one of the small plates didnt arrive we queried it and were told it was with the same thing as a sharer, no sorry, no explanation when this was brought to the table! coffee machine was not working and again no apology staff seem they they cba and dont to be there and just a general lack of customer service, wont be going back

Pub
The Generous Briton is a historic pub located conveniently between the town center and Loughborough University. Recently renovated, it now features two new lounges and an outdoor seating area with touch-operated heaters under each table cover for a cozy experience. While the pub doesn't serve food besides crisps, patrons are welcome to bring their own and enjoy it in the covered outside area, which also has heat lamps and screens for sports viewing.
First visit, but a really enjoyable experience, food was great and service spot on. Will deffo be returning soon. Special thanks to Lisa for making us feel so welcome

First time in this joint for a good decade or so. Looks wonderful, fab selection of tipples and a splendid manager. If I still lived over that side of town, 'twould be my local! Give it a spin! 👌🍻

Very nice since the refurb a few years back. Can be lively. Good ales/laggers. Pool and darts. Neat patio. They show football and rugby and usually allow takeaway food eg from Plan Buritto.

DOOR MAN WAS SO RUDE Had about 2 sips left at 23:05, got a drink during final call and the group before us only just stood up to leave and he felt the need to say ‘can you hurry up, i wanna go home’ to his friends at the bar while staring us down. As if i didnt have 2 SIPS left!! Was almost done and going to leave straight away! Was just rude and unnecessary, I didnt do it on purpose!!! I always hate to be the one to stay late and didn’t even realise, otherwise we wouldve left! Could’ve spoke to us nicely rather than chatting shit to ur friends! I used to work in hospitality, i know what its like but it just felt so unnecessary making comments to your friends about us when we can hear! Just go somewhere else, Griff, paget arms, spoons, anywhere else!!

There's no food sold (besides crisps) but you can bring your own and eat it in the outside area which is covered and has heat lamps and screens to view sports. Otherwise there's a pool table and bar staff with good attitudes.

Overall good experience but some of the outdoor heaters don't work, only a couple of darts not full set, TVs outside are about small and plastic roof outside leaking. Prices are quite high aswell but service is amazing .

The ambiance is perfect for unwinding with friends or family while enjoying expertly crafted cocktails—definitely worth trying!
Stopped off to try somewhere new and we're happy we did. The Food here was top notch, the drinks were decent and the staff were friendly throughout. It was on the slightly pricier side but worth the money and expected for the better quality. Can't complain, would recommend. Also, dog friendly which is always a plus.

I had the tuna panini melt with chips, and my nephew had fish finger and chips off the children's menu. The meal for two was under £15, but I wasn't overly impressed with the panini. The children's meal was very good, and the hummus and breadsticks with carrots is a nice touch. I've been to 43 lounges, and this one ranks outside of my Top Twenty. Pleasant service and clean throughout 👌

Really relaxed place to go for drinks or food. Wide menu choice including all day brunch, burgers, tapas, salads, curry. I had the Sri Lankan Curry and it was delicious. The coffee is great, and the staff are good. Service is not too fast to make you feel in a hurry, it's just right Plenty of vegetarian options Nice choice of alcohol free drinks They have an offer on Mondays after 5pm to get a free drink or pudding And Tapas Tuesday to get a free drink with 3 tapas Good value

A calm and relaxing cafe with boarding games and amazing food!! I lovely time to relax
Milan S — Google review
You just lost 2 regulars who used to spend £60-80 a month with you. We walked in yesterday, ordered food (the app wasnt working) and waited 30 minutes for lounge breakfast and red potatoe chips. The food arrived and we were quickly told that they are closing in 10 minutes. Why did they not point it out when ordering food? and if it wasn't for the long wait, that would be plenty of time to eat. Worse still, my chips were completely burnt, I looked for one that wasn't but they were inedible. Perhaps you employed wrong people but anyone with common sense knows enough what burnt food looks like and knows NOT to serve that. Very disappointed as it was my weekly destination in the town centre. We will not be going back or bringing friends here any more. Train the staff and ask them to not run away once they announce something, so that complaints can be handled there and then, not resulting in online reviews (which also take time). Just awful.
Poleon P — Google review
Food is always great here. And the staff is quite friendly and helpful too! We had the poached eggs with creamy hollandaise sauce on a muffin, with spinach and mushrooms and it was a great flavor. The eggs were poached nicely as well However, the star of the show was the bang bang cauliflower noodles with veggies. The flavors were amazing and melted in your mouth, noodles were cooked to a nice texture and the veggies were a perfect pairing for this dish. My compliments to the chef
Bulou M — Google review
We had taken our daughter to Loughborough University for the open day. We also wanted to see the town centre to check out the area if she was to study there. We came across Cento Lounge so popped in for dinner. As with other Lounges wwr have visited one thing is constant. Nice atmosphere, warm, friendly and the food is always excellent. This place offers exceptional valve for money, highly recommended.

The menu was interesting but not really the sort of food we would normally choose. However, we were buying lunch for family and the venue was their choice so we compromised and the food was nicely cooked

Nestled in the heart of Loughborough, The Phantom is a charming pub that perfectly blends British cuisine with a vibrant atmosphere. With its cozy living-room decor and spacious patio, it’s an ideal spot for unwinding with friends over craft beer and delicious pub fare while catching the latest sports on TV. Guests rave about their experiences here, especially during bottomless brunches where attentive staff ensure your glasses are never empty.
Josh and Jess were fab, Josh was the best host and makes AMAZING cocktails! We can't wait to come back. Food was great too, really fresh and tasty.

Me and my partner order the meaty feast as it sounded like a great sharing platter for picky bits. We waited half an hour for our food and was utterly disappointed. Garlic bread was burnt around the edges, chicken fries were rock hard with barely any chicken in them and the side of mac and cheese we ordered was FILLED with oil. I managed to soak the oil up on TWO napkins. Really disappointed. only edibles parts were halloumi fries, the chicken wings, onion rings and the fries even tho they were luke warm and not hot. Real shame.
Kimberley W — Google review
Booked a bottomless brunch here over 3weeks ago for this Saturday and they called and cancelled on me a couple of days before. Now I have nothing organised for 7 girls for my sisters birthday. Absolutely rubbish. Don’t take bookings if you’re going to cancel them last minute
Emma M — Google review
Was driving by the area and the kids needed feeding This is in the heart of the city and very limited parking Lucky found a space outside with a 1 hour limit. There was two cars with tickets so know I had to be quick The pub was very lively but I guess it’s never too early for some to drink The decor is really funky and cool. Quite out there but I love it Was clean and warm Good came out pretty quick. Did want to try the fish and chips but they said they had a issue with the supplier and haven’t had it for weeks The staff are nice and the food was decent too Keep up the good work guys

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an incredible bottomless brunch here for a pre-wedding celebration and it was absolutely fantastic! The drinks really were endless — our glasses were never empty — and the service was top-notch from start to finish. All the staff were brilliant — friendly, attentive, and full of energy. A special shoutout to Henry, who went above and beyond to make the whole experience fun, smooth, and memorable. He really helped set the tone for an amazing celebration. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the wedding festivities. Highly recommend!
Kerry C — Google review
Worst experience ever. When we turned up for our bottomless brunch booking, we were met by the rudest manager I have ever spoke to, he told us our booking didn’t exist on the system even though I booked through their own website and had a confirmation email. He could not care less and kept saying how there’s nothing he can do. I said well fair enough when can we do it, to then be told they have no cocktail ingredients. For their 5 cocktail options which are essentially all vodka and fruit juice, which they clearly had behind the bar. He told us we can wait 20 minutes and he would go pick up the ingredients. So we said that’s fine and waited in the beer garden, of course we bought a pint to wait, no offer of a free drink or even discounted one for the trouble. 45 minutes later manager comes out and says we can start the brunch now and he had not left the pub at all in that time so of course he was lying about the cocktail ingredients. Go in and sit down waiting for our brunch to start, 10 minutes of nothing I go up to the bar and ask if we can start ordering drinks, again met with worst attitude saying we had to go up to the bar to order a drink every time and stand and wait for them to be made and take it to the table our selves. Personally that is not the point of a bottomless brunch and I have never experienced that before. Anyway an hour after the booking originally was, brunch started, food was terrible, and I was actually just in shock at how awful the whole thing was going. So at the bar collecting another drink I asked the manager “is this seriously how this normally goes?” Of course he could not care less and told me every brunch is the same and we’re ’not the only people in the pub’ and that he can’t just focus on us the whole time. I literally laughed out loud and just accepted that he didn’t give a shit and nothing was going to change. So brunch ended and I went up to pay, of course I asked for some kind of discount for the trouble, not only were we an hour late starting our brunch but the service and food were terrible. And to no surprise he said there’s nothing he can do and there’s not a reason we would get a discount. Luckily he hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing and charged us the wrong price anyway which was £10 less than it should’ve been. Genuinely would never step foot in there again, I know it was a bit rough but this new management have honestly sent the pub below the ground.
Faith D — Google review
New management was really rude and made us feel unwelcome and overall service and food was terrible. We stated this to the new management and they did not care one bit. We booked a bottomless brunch and they was having a go at us about it due to it not being booked 2 days in advance even though we booked it through their website. Overall we was very disappointed as we have been here multiple times for a bottomless brunch and never ran into any these issues before the new management.
Harlee — Google review
We came for bottomless brunch yesterday and it was brilliant! The two serving (didn’t take their names!! A man and a woman) were both fantastic - we were shocked to hear they were new to the company as their knowledge and professionalism made us think they had been there years! And the food was amazing too. Thanks all 😀

This popular spot is frequented by students and features an extensive selection of beers and ciders. Additionally, it hosts regular quiz nights and live music events.

Friday, 'all you can eat ribs' Excellent, quick service, staff great n friendly. Ribs to die for, fell off the bone n melted in your mouth. Various sauces, I had the BBQ. Good choice. The plates kept coming, I managed 2.5 racks! Definitely had my money's worth n waddled back to my boat.

Caught my eye when I saw the all you can eat wings on Saturday. Ended up splitting a wing platter instead with my wife because it worked out cheaper. The wings were coated in plenty of sauce and tasted delicious. It's a great place for people who enjoy a good cold cider. Ended up ordering a rack of ribs as well, which I wished had more sauce on like the ribs, but they were happy to give me more sauce on the side upon request. The fries were a bit cold in places so it kind of might put me off on ordering them again. I ordered a homemade cookie sandwich which came with massive cookies and not as much icecream as I hoped for. The environment is calm and quiet but I would have liked a little music to liven up the place. Will probably return again for the wings and cider.

We went to try the new food by Mervs kitchen. Lots of choice on the menu. We chose a cheese and bacon hot dog, Mervs smoked cheese n bacon burger both with smokey cheesy bacon fries. Absolutely delicious 🤌 all cooked to perfection. The pub has a selection of drinks to choose from. I would suggest to book a table if you are eating and it can get busy. Definitely going back for all you can eat wings. 😋

Nestled in the northern part of the country, The Blacksmiths is a delightful gastro pub that seamlessly blends traditional charm with contemporary flair. With a cozy log-burning stove for winter warmth and a sun-soaked walled garden perfect for summer gatherings, it’s an inviting spot year-round. The menu is refreshingly modest yet consistently intriguing, featuring seasonal dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Diners can indulge in specials like an extravagant lobster and steak platter that showcases the finest produce available.
A lovely pub, great for watching sport, playing pool or darts or just chilling out.

Really good food (quite a long way ahead of other pubs in the area), great drinks and a great pint of Guinness. The place also looks great, they obviously spent a lot on the refit. Would be a 5 star review but the pub was not heated when I visited, like others we spent some time drinking with coats in then gave up and moved on to others that were all heated.

Not been in years but new owners doing a great job, friendly and efficient. The food was excellent(fish n chips, Hunter's chicken and kids fish n chips) reasonable price and huge portions.

Called in for a drink early saturday evening the place was quite empty there was no queue at the bar, we were the only two customers stood there. Neither was there any bar staff at first- then the barman appeared after a few minutes whilst on the phone so we waited a little longer till he finished his call, albeit he then went to have a conversation with some others that had already been served around the corner - there was no acknowledgement of us he didn't say anything no welcome or gesture to say he would be able to serve us not even a "hello!' He carried on as though we were invisible hence we left with the notion it was intentional, we were certainly ignored! We took our custom elsewhere where the staff were super friendly, just how you would expect to be treated as a patron, even though they were really busy. Avoid this pub!!! The service is terrible and the barman was clearly being arrogant and rude. Its a shame that this member of staffs attitude reflects so badly on this pub.

Been there a few times to watch sport - mainly rugby. It is definitely a lot nicer than previously but the service is shocking. They only have one pulled ale (Landlord) and twice they have run out! Went tonight for England vs SA Rugby and there were only two lads serving on the bar. Took me 20 minutes to get a couple of beers. Could be a great venue but not until they get some staff on the bar

Nicely refurbished. Odd place though... there's rock n roll posters all over the walls. I asked the chap at the bar if this is a rock pub. "No". Apparently the owners just ask Alexa to play generic tunes. Really strange.

I called on the evening of the first euro semi final. No telly, so that may have accounted for only a dozen or so customers. Even so the customers were chatty, it’s dog friendly and the range of beers exceptional. I went for a Guerrilla Stout. Really smooth, went down a treat. This is how pubs should be imho!!

A great pub with a fabulous choice of ciders which is my go to tipple. Also had plenty of real ales for all the beer lovers. The only odd thing was despite going on a Saturday afternoon the pub was very quiet which surprised me as it seemed a nice place,so pleased go visit this place and support local pubs.

Amazing CAMRA pub, recently voted best in north and northwest Leicestershire. Friendly and chatty bar staff and patrons. Newspapers and board games. Multiple snugs in the rear for groups of 4-6 to gather, an open air yard too. Guest ales and the full selection of monkey beers. Snacks and cobs too. Well worth a visit if you are waiting for a bus connection or movie in Loughborough.

Great range of Blue Monkey cask ales on too with a couple of guests. We of course went straight for the stouts and they were fantastic. Free tasters were also offered. I recomend the pork scratchings they come in a big bag with a pot of dipping sauce too. Well priced and friendly. Will be back.

Nice pub apparently the oldest in Loughborough, unfortunately the landlord told us that he was closing in 1 hour for good and the owners were selling it, so it may not be a pub anymore in the future, we may have been in the last 4 customers.

A fantastic night with friends enjoying the cocktail masterclass with Jerome a great bartender and entertainer. Jerome knows his stuff, easily explaining what to mix and how, with a little bit of science too. We gratefully accepted the cocktails he made so effortlessly and then had a go at making our own, Jerome’s teaching style made this fun and easy and overcame any of our nerves with encouragement and humour. Thanks for helping us have a great night out 5⭐️

My friends and I had an extraordinary Saturday night at Revolution, and it was largely due to Fraser. He was fantastic—so friendly and accommodating. Fraser's deep understanding of the drink menu and his flair for cocktail making were truly remarkable. He was able to recommend cocktails tailored to each of us, based on our individual preferences. Every cocktail he prepared for us was crafted with precision and care, making our evening even more enjoyable. Fraser's passion for his work and his genuine hospitality really stood out. We wholeheartedly recommend Revolution for a fun night out and can’t praise Fraser’s superb service enough!

If i could give 0 I would. The organisation for ticketed events here is beyond poor. On two of three occasions they have had far too few bar staff - resorting in 20-30 minute waits for drinks and if you appear for a ticketed event around 12 - expect to wait approximately 50 minutes. To be honest, you’re far better going to a local pub where you don’t have to wait to get in, don’t pay ridiculous prices for drinks and don’t have to wait 30 minutes to get them.

It was my first visit to the place . Nice place to be with good ambience. However, i feel it lacked in music. The DJ was very restricted in the songs. My suggestion is to connect DJ to internet to include vast variety of music avaiable. Also, it will be a good idea to extend the timing of serving food toll 10pm instead of 9pm.

Awful, one of the staff told us they couldn't assign a waiter and to download the App.the only problem is the WiFi wants access to your information, the App is glitchy and demands a lot of information. I hate Revs for turning Covid into an excuse to take your information and treat customers badly. Recommend you avoid for any other bar in Loughborough. Also have added a picture of the inaccurate information left on the table as you can't order at the till.

We came for an evening meal with our family of 6, and it was absolutely perfect. We shared tapas for starters and each dish was packed full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Our mains (see photos) were also stunning. A lovely waitress, a beautiful restaurant and delicious food. I will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Really nice place, friendly and welcoming staff. Made an effort to help us celebrate our anniversary. Food was very high quality at a reasonable price which is rare. Very surprised and impressed by this place and will definitely visit again.
Ron R — Google review
Came in today and was looking forward to our meal as we have been before a few year back and it was excellent. Unfortunately on this occasion we were bitterly disappointed. Ordered starters which were OK but took 30 mins to arrive at our table, although there was only about 10 tables full in the restaurant so we weren’t sure how it was so slow. We finished our starters and waited a further 20-25 minutes for our mains. After asking the manager where our food was he went and checked and said there had been a mix up and someone else received our food, when it did finally arrive it looked as though it had been sat there for ages and was bone dry (The waitress had told us our food was being freshly made after the mix up). It looked like something you would get from a fairground burger van. The added pulled beef on the burger was so dry and the burger pattys themself were clearly burned and the cheese looked as though it had been microwaved on. I chose not to bother eating the burger and just had the chips, although they were also cold and very dry too. After speaking to the manager about it he did offer free drinks and said he would replace the burger and take it off our bill, I opted not to get another burger anyway as I didn’t fancy a repeat of the first occasion. My partner ordered the breakfast burger which again looked very dry and burnt, but she did eat it in the end as she was just hungry and needed something. Now for the staff, the waitresses seemed fairly inexperienced and any time they spoke to us or came over they just seemed awkward. We were sat out of sight in the corner and the staff presence in our area was minimal, the only person I really saw walking around was the manager. The manager himself (unsure of his name but he was wearing glasses and possibly a blue shirt) was excellent at his job, he did do his very best to make sure we left satisfied, and he was probably the only reason this isn’t a 1* review. Although it wasn’t his fault the food was terrible he did do his best and was very welcoming on arrival and pleasant throughout. Overall we did leave very disappointed and I can’t really see us returning again, especially not during a busy period considering this was our experience in a relatively empty restaurant.

The accommodating staff ensures a memorable experience, as seen in the positive feedback from a 70th birthday party. Guests enjoyed exclusive use of the spacious garden room and praised the excellent food and drinks offered at great value.
Stopped in for lunch with my wife and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The setting by the river is stunning, calm and scenic, perfect for a relaxing meal. What really impressed me was how the staff handled my dietary needs. I’m currently managing a colitis flare-up, and not only were they understanding, but the chef went completely off menu to create something that worked, and it was absolutely spot on. Friendly service, thoughtful kitchen, beautiful location. I couldn’t recommend this place more.
Gavin B — Google review
Expected more from a good looking pub. Although if you want to remind yourself of the good old 1970s the check out the Toilets! Nice quaint spot with tables overlooking the river and fields. Had a couple of drinks outside which was lovely with the sunset and decided to stay for food. The staff showed us to our table and we negotiated between the menu and two other unnecessary bits of paper with the deal of the day etc. The overall feel of the menu at that bracket level is over complicated pub food. There is nothing particular that sounded healthy, it's pretty much deep fried or with lashings of cream for that luxurious feel. The missus was on a diet and would of liked to order some of the small bites but that part of the menu was closed past the evening so she had nothing and watched us eat. I ordered fish and chips, good size fish but the batter was soggy as hell and the reconstructed muchy peas was bland. My friends ordered the mushroom risotto which was a bit of a wet mess on the plate and nothing outstanding really about it. The lemon tart for dessert was very nice but it didn't neet the merengue buttons which were a distraction. The lotus biscoff cheesecake was sickly sweet and my friend could finish. Comparing this to the food that I had earlier on at the cafeteria of Nottingham University open day. I wanted to go back to the cafeteria, which had minimum of fuss and maximum of flavour (MoF MoF). One of the waiters stank of BO and made serving the dishes and interesting blend of smells. The most memorable part of the evening was the atrocious conditions of the TOILET. It was insulting and concerning. It's a shame because it's in a beautiful location.

We hadn’t been to The Plough for years but ventured out on a beautiful Bank Holiday Sunday afternoon. Booking process was brilliant, no problems with a big table and the dog! The setting is amazing along the river, a really lovely place to sit and watch the boats go by. Went to the Plough Inn on steak night in a group. Some of the group ordered steak, others ordered from the 'Specials' menu or from the standard menu. Lots of choice, including vegetarian and some speciality diets. Food was well prepared and all the group found their chosen dishes delicious and of a generous portion sizes. Steak was cooked to individual preference, with lots of available sauces or 'add ons'. Desserts were equally delicious, as was the cheese board. We all had a great time, right by the river Soar - so great location too. Only slight point was the sticky floor - but could have just been the type of boots I was wearing!! Would definitely recommend, good value for money, lovely surroundings!

Visited the Rose & Crown in Nottingham and ordered the exact same burger meal as my friend. Mine arrived with one less patty and half the chips than he had — how does that even happen when it’s the same order? I kindly spoke to a member of staff. After waiting 5–10 minutes, instead of replacing the meal properly, they dumped a single patty on a plate, and the waiter put it on my table and left. No apology, no attempt to actually make things right. Completely unacceptable service and very poor attention to customers. I have attached an identical found online for reference as I deleted the original photo. Won’t be coming back.

A table was booked for eight people, waiting at reception to be welcomed and shown to our table. After at least a good several minutes, a member of staff barely acknowledged us with zero eye contact and simply walked passed us and in a loud voice, just find yourself a table guys. So rude, clearly customer service does not exist here and we simply left for another venue.
Gary C — Google review
If you’re looking for a pub with real atmosphere and a proper sense of community, this place is a gem. The drinks are reasonably priced, the staff are welcoming, and the food is hearty and satisfying. But the real highlight has to be the pub quiz. The quiz is brilliantly run — fun, fair, and packed with clever questions that strike the perfect balance between challenging and entertaining. It never feels too easy, but it’s not so obscure that you’re left scratching your head the whole night. The quizmaster keeps the energy high with just the right amount of banter, and the mix of general knowledge, themed rounds, and quirky tie-breakers makes every week feel fresh. It’s the kind of night that brings everyone together: groups of friends, locals, and even the odd newcomer. Whether you win or lose, you leave with a smile (and maybe a craving to come back next week for redemption). If you love a good quiz night in a welcoming pub, you won’t find better.

Original Review : I visited your pub on 18th October for post-match teas I parked in the car park. When I arrived I did not see any parking fee signs or any indication the car park wasn’t affiliated with the pub. There was a whole team of us from a different university and none of us were notified about the need to pay for parking from staff. I have been served with a £100 parking fine. I am really disappointed to have been sent this fine having only been there 44 minutes in total 40 of which waiting for food.

The atmosphere is chill, with live music adding to the ambiance. The menu offers a varied selection of cocktails and mocktails, along with fantastic dishes like smoked brisket and halloumi fries. The establishment also caters to events, ensuring that everyone is looked after, including those requiring special accommodations.
If you want a decent, fresh cocktail, then this is the place to go. The staff are amazing and very attentive. I had the chicken caesor salad to eat, and my partner had the chicken burger, and both were absolutely delicious. There was some live music on while we were there which was lovely and the young lady singing was incredible. So all and all it was a great experience, great drinks, amazing food and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend 👌

Our daughter celebrated her 21st birthday last Saturday at The Corner House. Mary, Ben, and the team were fantastic and extremely accommodating, we all know how stressful hosting a party can be, but nothing was too much trouble and they all made it so easy. We had about 150 guests, so the venue was all ours, and we all had a fantastic time. With that many people, I decided to go for pizzas, they were lovely and reasonably priced per head, and the chef even worked outside his normal hours so I could have them served later this was only decided on the evening so I really appreciated it. Drinks and cocktails were good value (they were a bit too nice, well that was my excuse for having so many...), and as the venue has so much character I didn't have to spend hours putting up balloons. Thank you so much Mary, Ben and all your family/team💖

I had my 21st birthday party here last week, it’s such a lovely venue and all of the staff are so sweet. They were all very chatty and smiley and were there if we needed anything doing. There were about 60 of us in total and the function room was perfect! Would definitely recommend to anyone for a party or even just anyone wanting a cocktail!

Ben, Mary and the team are amazing! They were so helpful with our event, opened up early for us to set up and staffed the bar to cater for our numbers. They made sure everyone was looked after, especially where we needed disabled access for one of our party; The place was immaculate, the prices great and they helped create a brilliant atmosphere. I cannot recommend The Corner House highly enough, if you're looking for a venue for your event they are perfect - we had around 60 in our party but there is plenty of room for more inside and out. A very big thank you to the team ❤️

I’ve reached out multiple times via phone and email to book a table for a small celebration, but I haven’t received any response. Even if there’s no availability, a simple reply or call back would have been appreciated. It shouldn't be this difficult to get a response. Update: After posting my initial review, they followed up with me via email and a phone call the next day, kindly asking if I would consider increasing the number of stars. I updated it to 3 stars for the food, service and atmosphere as I had agreed during the call. That said, responding to emails or phone calls in the first place would have made this process much smoother.

Nestled in the charming village of Barrow upon Soar, The Three Crowns is a stunning 17th-century inn that perfectly blends history with modern dining. With its exposed beams and inviting atmosphere, it offers a delightful menu featuring traditional pub fare alongside global dishes. Incredible food, wonderful service. A great local pub with the added bonus of flavourful Indian food.

**Edited previous 5 star review due to being under new management. Jan 24. I wasn’t going to leave a review however I responded to a friend with an honest account of my experience last night on one of the pubs Facebook posts and they deleted the comment. I feel it’s only right that negative comments are seen as well as the positive. The food was beautiful, I can’t fault it however… We had a table for 2 booked for 7pm, we arrived at the same time as another table for 2 who also booked for 7pm and we were met with “Sorry there aren’t any tables at the moment would you mind waiting” We ordered a drink and waited to then be told by another member of staff “There aren’t any tables” and “There’s not a lot I can do about it at the moment” In hindsight we should have left at this point but didn’t, we got seated at around 7.30 and only because I suggested they move a table as a table for 2 were sat at a table for 4 of 2 tables pushed together. We were meant to be table of 3 but my mum was unwell and it’s a good job because she wouldn’t have fit at the table lol. We were then left with no offer of a menu, and ended up getting our own cutlery. In the end we were given one menu to share between us.. and the other table that came in at the same time as us also had to share our menu. When someone finally came to take our order we had been there near on an hour. During the experience I received the wrong drink, the wrong curry and one poppadom between 2 of us.. we had to ask for the other one. I do want to stress that the food is absolutely wonderful however the whole ordeal left me stressed when it was meant to be a relaxing evening. We did voice our concerns and I didn’t accept the offer to change my curry as we had already waited far too long and it was getting late but I was incredibly disappointed. We also turned down a free drink because this wasn’t offered until the very end and after 15/20 minutes of waiting for the card machine to work and to be honest we were ready to leave a long time before that so didn’t want to stay. Also I’m not sure if they have a dessert menu as this was never offered… The 2 women next to us had an even worse experience. I had to ask for their poppadoms for them and when their food eventually came to the table they had their starters and mains arrive together with no plates or cutlery. Once the busy period died down another table of around 6 men joined and they got their food before them! The excuse given at the time was “it was extremely busy” and it turned out they had given the tables away to walk ins. This to me is an unacceptable excuse and the only reason we stayed was to give it a chance and it was too late notice to book somewhere else. The experience we had means we won’t be returning for food which is a great shame because it is delicious and it’s one’s of our locals. I am only sharing my experience because the pub is deleting comments on social media and I think it’s only fair people are able to see a true reflection of the pub and are not tricked in to thinking this is a 10/10 restaurant/pub because it’s far from it (I really didn’t want that to be my opinion but I have to be honest)

Excellent new Punjabi menu! Leicester has some of the best Indian food in the country and normally I go the golden mile to get my fix. How lucky am I to have the crowns on my doorstep. The food is fab. I had the chicken madras with a chilli cheese naan. My wife went for butter chicken and peshwari naan. Mixed grill to start was excellent. Looking forward to seeing how the menu grows!

Nestled on Main Street in Breedon on the Hill, just a stone's throw from Coalville, The Three Horseshoes is a charming 18th-century dining pub that originally served as a farrier's. Its interiors boast an eclectic style with polished bar areas, rustic flagstone floors, and vibrant walls adorned with modern country prints and antique engravings. The inviting log fire adds warmth to the atmosphere, making it perfect for cozy gatherings.
Recently taken over. Called in on a Saturday lunchtime. Wasn't particularly busy. Staff were very friendly and service was great. We only had a drink. The place was spotlessly clean. Will be a real asset to the area. Great outdoor area too

Was never the best pub but has gone even more downhill recently. Attracts a really rough crowd, no longer serves food, staff turn a blind eye to customers vaping inside. A shame as it’s in a lovely location and could be so much nicer!

Lovely welcome from the bar manager and land lady as we walk in. The lounge bar and toilets were very clean. As the current land lady had on just took over the running of the pub, there was no ales on offers. This is something that she is looking to get sorted in the not too distant future. Defo put this place on your list of pubs to visit when in the area. Good luck, Three Horseshoe's, see you again sometime!!

First time visiting today and it will be our last… first impressions were that the place could do with a good clean. We were greeted by two big hand prints on the mirror as you walk in. We walked past the coffee machine which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. We ordered two pints which cost £11.20! We sat down and noticed immediately the chairs were covered in crumbs and dog hair. The floor needed a good vacuum and mop. We went at lunch time, so there was no way it had been cleaned the night before / that morning. We were going to stop for lunch but the cleanliness put us off. We went to the toilet on the way out and they were just as bad. The toilet was dirty and stained, with the top coming away. The sink wasn’t even attached. Soap dispensers need replacing and make sure to go to the toilet in twos, you’ll need the other person to push the tap for you on the one sink the water actually works. Cleanliness is basics…

Just had a very enjoyable evening at the Pied Bull, eaten far too much but with such good food at great value it's hard not to! Thursday night is gourmet burger night although the standard menu is still available. Choose your burger, veggie, lamb, beef or chicken. Choose your fries, your sauce all for £5 and then add extra toppings for 50p each bacon, stilton, cheddar, onion rings etc and decide whether to add an extra burger, beef chilli or pulled pork for an extra £1.25... bargain!! It really is delicious and filling. We've been to Pie night on a Monday too and have been equally impressed with the quality of food. Can't fault it, nice pint too. Was a bit chilly as the heating had broken down but that sort of thing can't be helped. Nice pub, food, beer and staff.
Graham I — Google review
This was my first visit and it most certainly will not be my last. The menu was perfectly formed, with just enough options. The service was spot on and the waitress was very helpful and friendly. After ordering, the food arrived within about 20 minutes. I ordered a Steak and Stilton pie, with chips and mushy peas, as Mondays are pie night. The portion was generous and the food cooked to perfection, as everything was homemade. The steak was lovely and soft, with just enough Stilton as to not overpower it. After finishing my main course, I ordered bread and butter pudding, with cream and custard! Whilst the portion was just enough, the bread was not sufficiently cooked, and therefore was not crisp, the taste of it was good. The pricing of the meal was very reasonable for the excellent quality of the food. Two main pie dinners came to £14 and all the deserts were under £4 each. The decor of the pub is modern, mixed with an older style cottage- it works really well. I really recommend a visit. Thanks to the staff at the Pied Bull Inn for a most enjoyable evening.

Really enjoyed it in the week so we came again at the weekend with a group. One member of the staff was well out of order all evening!!! Bearing in mind that we paid a lot of money upfront for two activities for the evening, which is very time sensitive - to spend soooo much time every time at the bar to order all our drinks is a piss take!!! Only due to the staff on their phones talking to other students about different courses… They need to know that they are costing the customers big money and is totally unacceptable!!! They are paid to do a job, so do it - it’s not a social networking platform!!!

If you're wandering through Loughborough and looking for a unique dining experience, The Crafty Fox is a must-visit. This charming eatery offers an inviting atmosphere with its stylish decor and relaxed vibe, complemented by some fantastic old-school tunes playing in the background. Guests rave about the delicious burgers, claiming they might just be the best they've had in years! The generous portions extend beyond just burgers; even the jacket potato receives high praise for being perfectly cooked.
Came in for the first time since it opened as we were wandering the town for a place to eat that wasnt our usual. Very happy we did, the burger was devine, probably the best burger I have eaten in years. Chips are really good to and my misses says the jacket potato was perfectly cooked. Staff seem very friendly, the place was relaxed, music is old school and great, the new look is good too. Very glad we decided to give it a try. EDIT: been here for the 3rd time (probably going to make a habit of it), still a great place so far so good. With all the bad pubs before this one screwing reviews up it's certainly worth another try.

Visited on a cool windy day and the pub was warm and inviting. We only had a coffee here, so can't comment on the wider offerings. However one area that really does require attention is the toilets. They are in a poor state of repair and not very clean. It's a shame the owners don't bring these up to the standard of the rest of the place.
Jim T — Google review
I went here with my family for a meal a few days ago. I think it's changed hands because it's normally a clean place to eat and drink. The floors were sticky, you couldn't move for your shoes sticking on the floor. Nothing had been wiped down including the tables. When ordering food things were a nightmare, they had ran out of a few things. I also wanted a game of pool but I had to pay a fiver deposit and I needed ID. I'm nearly 50! As for the toilets, well... sticky floors,no soap, doesn't look like they get cleaned. I'm going to give this pub a miss from now on.
Mandy S — Google review
Different prices in the window to on the menu, very confusing! I also think £4 for two eggs on toast is extremely high when a full cooked breakfast is only £5.60. Not very good if you're trying to eat healthier!! Also very slow service at the till and with our order.
Tom D — Google review
We had a lovely meal and was extremely cheap too. Two meals for £8 and the portions were a really good size. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend for a bite to eat when in Loughborough
Emma B — Google review
Food took ages to arrive I had pie and mash, the mash was overcooked by microwave. Was not a lot of chicken in a filo pie pot. The menus do not state if breakfast is all day or for specific times, menus sticky. I was recommended this place. What a total let down I will not be wasting my money again
Penny J — Google review
Sticky floors, very poor staff attitude, on their mobile and no customer empathy whatsoever. Had the burger and chips, chips and the burger bun were nice but if you like picking gristle out your teeth then this is the place for you! I would say they get their ingredients from Farmfoods but that would be a bit too harsh on Farmfoods themselves. Never again!

Amazing mothers day meal it sadly wasn't ! Zero atmosphere and a main meal that would fit on an average sized tea plate for £10.95 ! Virtually empty on what should be 1 of the busiest Sundays of the year. A few drinkers in the bar - possibly 6, but seriously wished we'd have not bothered but lesson learned. When you advertise something as 'special' it needs to be exactly that. Sadly it was especially poor.

I have used this establishment for near on 50 years, from going in as a child with my dad, to taking my own kids, the place now, rather the tenants, seem to be barring all and sundry, we are a group of 50 - 70 year olds, all barred or boycotting the place until the tenants leave, AVOID this place, if you do not want private conversations listened into, by the landlady on recorded cameras, from their private quarters
