Dropped in, unbooked, with my partner for dinner. Really pleasant atmosphere, staff were friendly and accommodating but the food was amazing for a low-medium cost venue. Right by the Marina at Balloch so lovely views as well. We'll done guys.

Stayed here for one night whilst on the way to invernrss via fort William. Unfortunately the weather prevented us an afternoon on Loch lomond. However the staff at the Tullie were great, very welcoming and helpful. Drinks were reasonably priced and good selection. Had the Sunday dinner which again was reasonably priced and delicious. Rooms were large and very comfortable. Very good selection at breakfast with a delicious Scottish breakfast.

My family have been visiting the Tullie Inn for several years now and have gotten to know the staff well. A big shout out to Debbie. Mary,Kim and the two lovely lads who have attended to us,treated us so well, shared a bit of humour and have been professional to a fault. The Tullie is undergoing some management changes and to be honest something felt very different on our last visit. Lighter, fresher. Debbie for one is very excited about the upcoming changes. I alwsys think that speaks volumes about a manager. Folks I think we need to visit here at Christmas for a truly magical experience!!

Just eaten at Tullie Inn, Balloch and it was delightful. Had tomato and basil soup for starter - nicest soup I've tasted!!!! I chose Butternut squash ravioli for main course with truffle oil and that too was delicious. Service was perfect as well - charming experience all round and moderately priced meal which was simply great.

Pub
The Balloch House is an 18th-century inn located by the water, offering a cozy retreat with its low wooden-beamed ceilings, open fire, and homely atmosphere. The pub features leather armchairs, paved flooring, and a beer garden for outdoor dining. The menu includes a variety of dishes such as schnitzel parmigiana, roast dinners, fish, grilled food like steak and stonebaked pizzas.
We had a wonderful dining experience at The Balloch House! We ordered the ribeye steak, salmon fishcake, katsu chicken rice bowl, and the signature burger—everything was absolutely delicious. Each dish was cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The ambience was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The service was excellent too—friendly, attentive, and efficient. If you’re in the area and looking for great food in a lovely setting, The Balloch House is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

This was a typical vintage in pub. I had Lamb Shank £25, which came in a nice red wine sauce. I could of done with a bit more sauce to be honest. My partner had a chicken schnitzel £17. She said the chips were'nt very warm. The service was quite slow, as the waitress had loads of tables to service. We wanted vinegar, which we asked for but it never arrived.
Scott G — Google review
We had an amazing dinner today, and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. I went for the Hunter's Chicken Schnitzel with a side of halloumi fries, while my wife chose the signature burger both dishes were absolutely delicious. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. The atmosphere in the restaurant is exactly what you’d want for a relaxing evening out warm, welcoming, and cozy. It felt inviting the moment we walked in, and it made our meal all the more enjoyable. The staff were fantastic too really friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. They made us feel well looked after throughout our visit. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food in a cozy setting with excellent service.

The ambience perfectly fits a visit to Balloch/Loch Lomond. All the dishes we ordered were on point making it overall a great meal in Scotland, special shout out to the sticky toffee pudding that couldn't have been more perfect!

We have stopped off here on the way to Inverness and it's in a beautiful setting on Loch Lomand. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked and the service has been fab. Eva has been especially helpful! The manager was really welcoming when we arrived without a booking. Perfect start to our first visit to Scotland

Stopped in on way back after getting engaged in Arrochar the night before. The perfect ending to a perfect trip. Lovely place and we will be back soon. Our wee dog was made welcome.
Derek B — Google review
Manager was very welcoming to us first timers to the Balloch House. Gave us a fab seat by the fire which was kept roaring all night giving a very cosy atmosphere. I had the weekend treat menu and hubby are from a la carte. Knocked a star off as his hollindaise was missing the brown shrimp. Our server, Megan, was lovely and kept the drinks flowing. Thank you for a lovely meal - we'll recommend and be back if in the area. Tandoori chicken starter was lovely as was sea bass and fishcakes. Loved the volume of music too, not too loud to talk but made the place feel relaxed 😎

Italian restaurant
Bar
Cucina is a contemporary Italian restaurant located in Balloch on Loch Lomond, serving hearty Italian comfort food such as pasta and pizza along with beer and wine. The restaurant has been open for over 10 years and is known for its vibrant and bustling atmosphere. Head Chef Mattia Camorani leads the kitchen, offering fresh and authentic Italian dishes perfectly matched to the season. The menus are designed for sharing with friends and family, emphasizing genuine Italian hospitality.
Booked last minute after arriving in Balloch, very attentive service by the waiting staff, good quality food and great value for money. First time coming but won't be last. Very good italian food, would recommend if you want to try a taste of Italy near Loch Lomond

Visited this week…“At £18 for the main, it felt like a fair price for portion size and quality—especially given the homemade qualities.” Highly recommended….💃🏻

Delicious homemade Italian food. Excellent lunch menu. Great location in Balloch and easy free parking at rear of Cucina. Hospitable and friendly staff and service. Food tasted delicious and perfect servings. The Lasagne Al Forno I must say was mouthwateringly delicious. Delightful home made with fresh salad. Really enjoyed and most definitely shall visit again. Thank you Team Cucina 😊
Me Z — Google review
Very disappointing experience. The kids’ menu included unlimited soft drinks but sparkling water wasn’t covered, which felt odd. My salad was actually more expensive at lunch than on the à la carte menu and was nothing but limp greens with a bottled dressing. Pasta was overcooked, service unfriendly, and overall poor value for money. Neither tasty, healthy, nor reasonably priced. Definitely not recommended.
Lissy M — Google review
The food was disgusting. I don't know how they can call this Italian food when they have no idea what Italian food is. The pizza from the supermarket was awful. A supposed hamburger with vegan nuggets from the supermarket inside, without even a sauce (it couldn't have been any drier). We ordered the bruschetta as a starter because it was the only vegan option, and it was anything but bruschetta.
Ana M — Google review
Cucina, oh what can I say about cucina, they have great food solid prices and a nice Italian atmosphere. We ordered the vegetable lasagna which was great it also came with a small salad and garlic bread, we also ordered the steak fillet which was cooked perfectly for our request, and the goat cheese Bruschetta which was phenomenal. Overall I highly recommend cucina for good food and fine service.

A wonderful place with giant portions, stellar service, and delicious food Kelly was our server today and has been very patient, helpful, and an absolute delight overall Junior menue is reasonably sized, and prices are quite affordable for the account of food you’re getting Heavily recommend

Went to their cafe next door to their Restaurant on local recommendation. Had a light lunch (we shared) which was very flavoursome indeed with soft drinks and good coffee. If the tables are all taken – they can seat you in their restaurant. The cafe was busy for a reason – it’s very good indeed and full of locals. Highly recommended.

Restaurant
The Pier Kitchen & Bar is a friendly restaurant and bar located in Balloch, Alexandria. It offers a variety of classic dishes, fish, burgers, and small sharing plates in a smart yet casual atmosphere. The decor is welcoming and the place can get quite busy, but the service remains top-notch. Customers have enjoyed their experience at The Pier Kitchen & Bar, praising the nice decor and tasty food options such as fried pickles, Korean chicken wings, and fish tacos.
Lovely dinner, food was amazing! We ordered a starter, small plate and a side each and it was more than enough (we could barely walk after). Scallops were my favourite, but also really enjoyed the asparagus! All plates were very delicious and quite filling (portions were substantial). We were planning to have desserts but were too full at this point. Cocktails were delicious and very good price/quality ratio. Service was a bit random (we got small plates first, then the starters, and finally the sides) but they were busy and lovely so we didn't mind.

Definitely worth a visit if you're in Balloch. The restaurant was fully booked when we arrived, but we got a seat through in the grill area which was lovely and quiet. Staff were very attentive from start to finish, and all really friendly as well. Food was brilliant too: good sized portion without being too much, and high quality food cooked very well. There was a good selection of stuff from the specials and normal menu. A bit more expensive than what you'd pay in a regular pub, but it's all definitely worth the money. They've got a good selection of drinks too, including lots of cocktails and a good wine selection. Will certainly be back the next time I visit Balloch 😊
Chris W — Google review
Great experience overall. Service friendly and not bothered about responding all our answers. It’s a plus that all food is homemade - and definitely you can tell. Homemade soup (we had lentil soup) was very tasty and filling. Non greasy or overcooked. Just perfect. Second dish was the steak sandwich. We were surprised in the good way as we were expecting fine fillets of meat in a square typical sandwich bread, instead we received this yummy panini with a perfect seasoned and medium cooked steak. Great menu for a pre-boat trip in Balloch. Will come back!
Marta R — Google review
Came here for an evening meal and it was just what we were looking for in terms of atmosphere and great food at reasonable prices. The starters we had (fish tacos and duck spring rolls) were stunning. My husband's main was sea bass I think, which he really liked. I had the sirloin steak which was good but a little tough, which was disappointing, but the other bits of the meal (onion rings, chips, mushrooms) were all delicious. The one downside of our experience was the service, it was a little inconsistent in terms of who our waiter was which at times meant we were waiting to be able to order more drinks, etc. Hoping it was a fluke, I would still recommend this place.
Triana M — Google review
Lovely seafood and dinner restaurant. Lovely ambiance but is a bit packed inside with a few too many tables. The food was great and service was top-notch, staff were attentive and welcoming. Able to book easily. Ample parking outside.
Carmen C — Google review
I absolutely loved this place - it's got it spot on. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was amazing. Would love to go again. We went for lunch and sat outside, but it also looked great inside too.
Dave C — Google review
We’ve stopped here a couple of times in the past for a drink when out cycling but not had food, so on this occasion decided to have something to eat as well. We chose from the snacks / sides section of the menu - and the food was excellent! Service is warm & friendly and a nice outside seating area. Well worth a visit.
Hamish P — Google review
Great food, good prices. Friendly staff. We had fish tacos, hummus and pita as starters. Then had prawns and mussels, scallops with chorizo and trout for mains and chocolate tart for dessert. Stunning presentation and good combination of flavours. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor tables. Better booking In advance.

Wedding venue
Event venue
Restaurant
Situated on the picturesque shores of Loch Lomond, The Cruin is a versatile venue offering both a fine dining restaurant and a family-owned wedding venue. With breathtaking views of the loch and Ben Lomond, it provides an ideal setting for romantic occasions such as anniversaries or proposals. The restaurant features a Scottish menu and an extensive selection of drinks, while the wedding venue offers exclusive use and accommodation for the wedding party.
My daughter had her wedding here recently and overall we were very happy with the venue. Personally I think there are some details about the venue that could do with a refresh or renew but when balanced with the price compared to other nearby venues & given it's right on the banks of Loch Lomond, it's only fair to still give a 5* review. In my opinion the outdoor pergola could do with a paint and refresh. It's great to have but looks like it's been neglected for a while. I wish we had taken our own postbox for the wedding cards because the one on the welcome table looked at least 30 years old. I'm sure they were like that when I got married in 1991! The table for the wedding cake was the right size but it didn't seem very steady and also looked too low. The "bride only" room is essentially a notice on the disabled toilet door. It's small and not great if the bride wants to change into a second dress for later in the evening. There was also nowhere to hang the wedding dress should she change. As this venue isn't linked directly to any accommodation I appreciate this isn't something that could be easily solved but I'm sure there must be a way! The newlyweds get a lodge overnight as part of the package but a 10am check out is a little bit early after a late night celebrating. All of that being said we would still choose the venue again. The view is beautiful. The patio and terraces are very pretty. Of course the small jetty was perfect for a photo even on a moody Saturday in October. The staff were great. From booking, to visiting, to taking in decor & dressing the venue the day before, they were very helpful. They do most of the dressing if needed; we only had to assemble the large hoop we wanted to use for photos in the evening. As this was a joining of two people from different heritages we had enjoyed a banquet at another location the night before so at the Cruin we had prosecco & canapes on arrival with a buffet later in the evening. The food was excellent and there was a good selection for the 3 guests that must only eat gluten free. As mother of the bride these were my observations from our engagement with the Cruin throughout the process and on the day. My daughter was very happy with her day and we would both highly recommend the Cruin for your special day.
DeJayne — Google review
Excellent venue for a wedding, everything you need in one place. Beautiful picturesque views and plenty of accommodation on site.
Simon D — Google review
We booked the Cruin as our wedding venue and had to leave a review to share our experience. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The location of the ceremony and the surrounding area are beautiful and an idyllic setting for a wedding. On top of this David and the team were absolutely phenomenal from start to finish and made our day effortless and stress free. They are consummate professionals and put us completely at ease from the beginning, letting us just relax and be in the moment. Several friends and family members also complemented how incredible and helpful they were Finally I’d be remiss not to mention the food which was incredible. Easily the best meal we have ever eaten at a wedding, the standard of food would not be out of place in a top restaurant. They had a brilliant choice to create your own menu and the quality of the food was superb, again many guests approached us and stated this. An amazing venue run by amazing people. Thank you for everything!
Allan T — Google review
We were married here last month. This is an amazing venue. It goes without saying that the location and views are stunning but David and the team are fabulous. From our first visit, nothing was too much trouble. The team are incredibly skilled at what they do, the day ran like clockwork and the team working with us were lovely. They really do put their customers first. The food was amazing, all of our guests have all told us that it was the best food they've had at a wedding, and this also comes from a professional chef. The portions were huge and the presentation was excellent given the food was being served for such large numbers. One of the plus points was all the accommodation nearby. We had a lot of guests stay in the lodges and it really helped them enjoy the day as they didn't have to worry about transport. This is truly the most special place to get married. Getting married outside, with the view of Loch Lomond is just stunning and everyone at The Cruin is a joy to deal with.
Mhari M — Google review
We came to The Cruin for an open day and instantly fell in love. From the start Rebecca, David and the team were fantastic and very amenable to all our endless questions! Any request was listened to and ultimately delivered brilliantly on the day. Nothing was too much trouble. Even though it rained nearly all day, the team made sure everything was to our vision and ran smoothly. All our guests have said what a stunning venue it is and how amazing the food was. We’re so glad we picked The Cruin and we can’t thank you all enough for the most beautiful wedding day. It was everything we wanted and more.
Courtney W — Google review
Beautiful setting, nothing on tap though, all cans and no cash...pretty awkward setup if I'm honest. Could be so so much better if you could get a proper pint.
The R — Google review
Was lucky enough to get married at The Cruin in May and even luckier to have the ceremony outside on the day. The ceremony was perfect and the facilities and view offered by The Cruin helped elevate this and make our wedding perfect. Hayley and David were a great help in walking us through our options and getting booked. On the day both were present and on hand and helped ease any worries. Both are very approachable and very customer focused. One point worth noting is I for anyone considering a twilight wedding, please work with the staff to clarify requirements and guest numbers as early as possible. This would have helped us as it did mean some tweaks of layout were required. This could have perhaps been cleared up earlier but we did manage to find a solution for layout that met all goals considering our number of guests (90-100). We opted for a buffet and were not disappointed. The food supplied had a good variety and catered for all. I would like to comment on the canopes but I think we had missed them by the time we wrapped up on photo’s. In terms of the reception, the room is spacious and was able to cater for enough table space for all of our guests while leaving enough space for a top table and leaving the dance floor accessible. One small thing that I would love to have changed would have been to have more experienced bar staff. This was the only nitpick the was fed back by guests. The feedback was that most of the cocktails requested could not be made. I appreciate that this may not be the direction the venue want to go down, but I think this should be something to reconsider in future if that is the case. All in all, I would recommend The Cruin as a venue to anyone considering it as it is uniquely situated to give anyone the perfect picturesque wedding.
Ross B — Google review
I've had the pleasure of photographing many weddings here over the years and every time I have found the venue staff to be exceptionally helpful, making every effort to consider the couples' wishes. If the weather is good, the staff are able to switch from an indoor ceremony to an outdoor ceremony at the drop of the hat, which is very rare for wedding venues. And THOSE VIEWS.... :-0 The food deserves an honourable mention as well - always excellent.

Stopped here for Brunch and it was the best poached eggs I’ve ever had on my Hash Benny. Perfectly cooked on the outside, runny and delicious on the inside! Heaps of parking across the road, friendly welcome and attentive service. Can’t wait to come back!

We initially came here just for desserts which turned out absolutely amazing! The cheesecake was rich & the raspberry sauce was nice and tart. The Victoria sponge cake was also moist & crumbly. We then decided to have our dinner there too, and the food portions were generous. As a first-timer trying Haggis, the Haggis pakora was a good introduction. Not too oily, fried nicely & came with a refreshing dip on the side. Will recommend for anyone coming to visit Loch Lomond for a day trip! Didn’t manage to try their breakfast items but my friend said their pancakes were really good :)
Quinn C — Google review
When ordering fish and chips at a coastal establishment, expectations are naturally elevated. While my meal was satisfactory, I have experienced superior quality elsewhere. The other members of my party enjoyed their meals, specifically the shawarma and enchilada. Considering the food quality in relation to the price and location, the value proposition was acceptable.

Luke is the best bartender I've ever had the pleasure of sitting in front of. The energy he brings to the bar is unmatched and the atmosphere when he is working cannot be compared. Come here all the time and will do for a long time after this. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a drink.

The Glen Roy Bar is a fantastic local spot with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Kelly, Luke, and Aaron were all impressed by the friendly staff, quick service, and great selection of drinks at reasonable prices. The food was top-notch, especially the homemade dishes that added a personal touch to the menu. Whether you’re popping in for a casual drink or a night out with friends, the Glen Roy Bar offers a comfortable setting and a great vibe that keeps you coming back. Highly recommended!

We stopped for cold drinks. It was unseasonably hot. Being American, mom wanted ice with her Coke. They served the ice in a Scottish beer glass that of course had a letter ‘T’ for the brand of beer. My mom wanted to buy it for my brother, Thomas, who couldn’t make the trip. Barkeep said it wasn’t for sale. We went outside to enjoy our beverages. The handsome gentleman at the table, on the computer (owner) came out and told my mom she could just keep it. He joked she could just slip it in her bag. Later, the young barkeep (son?) came out and told my mom she could keep it (sent by his dad?). Very good service. Sorry we missed the karaoke the night before. Maybe next time.

My dad, brother, and I had a couple of days exploring the Loch Lomond area and found ourselves enjoying some afternoon drinks at the Glen Roy 3 nights in a row! Big shout out to both Alan and Tony for their hospitality, humor, local guidance, and of course, well poured pints! You guys were awesome! - The guys from Boston, by way of Ireland

Wild Highlands Coffee House is nestled in the picturesque Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, offering a diverse landscape of rugged hills and serene waters. Visitors can indulge in delectable coffee and cakes while enjoying stunning views from the pier seating area. The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere make it a favorite hangout spot, with options like the delicious vegan carrot & pistachio loaf for vegetarians.
What a great place for a fine coffee and a wee piece as you sit and look up the loch towards the Ben and the Arrocher alps , on a fine day its as good as it gets but on a driech morning probably not the most scenic place for a cup of coffee
Tork M — Google review
Lovely warm coffee and tea on the pier overlooking the Loch. No cake available as resupply hadn't arrived but coffee was very nice on a bright and sunny cold Loch Lomond morning. Easy free parking very close, wheel chair friendly access and a welcoming smile and that lovely Scottish accent greets you warmly from Michelle. Go visit and have a nice morning coffee by the Loch. 5 star, clean and tidy with lovely coffee. We did. You should.
Hells G — Google review
Had a quick stop for a coffee and to take in the view of the Loch. You can sit on a wee pier and enjoy the views with your brew. Highly recommend. Oh, they do beer too. Cheers guys!
Balefire L — Google review
Absolute gem, love this kiosk right at the shore of Loch Lomond with parking nearby or just 10 minutes from Balloch train station with excellent coffee with selection of syrup and other hot and cold drinks and local cask ale on tap! Amazing views from the deck as you can see 10/10 support this business over lame boring chain coffee 🙏

What a lovely spot. Really nice cup of coffee. A tad pricey for a takeaway but when it’s good coffee and nice location you don’t mind.

Great service, great wheelchair access, and great food and prices. Perfect spot. 10/10

Great service by the team of coffee & sweets, with fantastic views off the pier. When it’s sunny, by the water is the place to be

We came here for a coffee while we were in the area. Good selection of drinks and a really nice outside seating area right next to the Loch (perfect on a sunny day!) I had a latte which was really really good. Lovely smooth taste, not too strong and perfectly hot enough. Prices similar to any other coffee places, but worth coming here just for the views!

The Kilted Skirlie was a beautiful, roomy restaurant with a peaceful atmosphere. Every table has a nice view of the loch and the mountains in the distance. The staff were very friendly, and the food was incredibly delicious. If I ever end up in that area again, I will be sure to make another appearance!

4 Adults, 2 children on a Sunday evening. The same menu from march 2017 was produced. The staff are fantastic, friendly and attentive. Fish and chips, should be exactaly that not, Fish and french fries! The fish was not fresh and contained lots of bones. Tasteless really. The children ordered pizza. They received a ciabatta halved down the middle and sprinkled with cheese. Toasted cheese?? A very heavy menu for summer on the banks of the Loch. Such a shame! We will not be back.

Really want to give 3.5 stars, but it isn't an option so I'll go with 3. Staff were friendly and helpful, however food took a little while to come out the kitchen when it didn't seem overly busy. Starter I had smoked salmon, with little oatcakes and an apple sauce/coleslaw. It was quite nice, salmon was a little.. clumpy, and possibly lacking a little seasoning. Main I went for the haggis, neeps and tatties which was a large bowl, with 1/3rd of the bowl being a big clump of haggis, 1/3 swede, and 1/3 mashed potato. The dish seemed a bit simple and lacked finesse, but it wasn't bad. Dessert I had the toffee lumpy bumpy which was very nice.
Alex M — Google review
Food was excellent, around £50 for 2 great steak meals with starters, staff were polite, view was incredible and decor a nice Scottish rustic look. Can't ask for much else.
Sean H — Google review
Amazing traditional Scottish food. My wife and myself visited the restaurant last night ,cosy and snug with breathtaking views. The staff were freindly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone. Will definitely be back.
Peter M — Google review
I love the food here. It's always good quality and reasonable priced. Staff are lovely too. There are great views of the loch and their is a external decking area too.
Laura P — Google review
Very dated and not the cleanest establishment i have visited. Staff lacking attention and food very poor quality had more bones than fish on my plate. Also several items unavailable from main menu and desert menu, however other tables appeared to be able to order these items? and was only 2pm. Would not recommend. Very disappointing

Monkey Island Cafe Bar is a perfect spot for a day trip, especially after a cruise with Sweeney Cruises. It offers fantastic service and is located next to the canal, providing a great view of passing boats. Whether you're looking to enjoy a sunny afternoon with drinks or have a cozy glass of wine, this place comes highly recommended for families and anyone seeking relaxation.
The converted shipping container made it a perfect spot to relax after six days of bike packing. Their cocktails and variety of beers and wines were exactly what we needed to unwind. The Aussie Chicas were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding a great laugh and a Scots like hospitality to the final leg of our journey. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
