Restaurant
Located in Ventnor, Cantina is a popular spot offering British cuisine with a twist of Continental flavors. The restaurant also boasts its own bakery and serves Square Mile Coffee, known for its mindful sourcing and skillful roasting. With just 22 seats, it's recommended to book in advance as it's often bustling. The place transitions from a bakery and cafe during the day to a full-fledged restaurant in the evening. Its quirky food combinations have garnered attention, even being featured in The Guardian.
Wow!! What a find. We all loved this place and if we weren't going home tomorrow we'd be returning. After lovely food at The Garlic Farm and The Cow, this place smashed it out of the park with the best food we've had this trip. We visited for brunch and had the Swedish hash, smoked salmon, waffles and banana bread. The food was so thoughtfully prepared and delicious. Everyone was happy. I think it was probably the owner who looked after us and she was absolutely lovely. Really highly recommend and we can't wait to return 🧡🩷🧡

Had a super lovely family brunch here and would ABSOLUTELY return again! Food and drink was amazing for everyone and the lady who served us was super friendly! Thank you so much :)
Christina B — Google review
I came here with my sister for an 'end of holiday' brunch & we couldn't have left happier & with full tummies! The brilliant front of house lady, Dita, was so welcoming & full of cheer. The food was extraordinary & beautifully presented! Full of flavour & made with love!! They had a huge variety of vegetarian options, which we were thrilled about! Even my sister's dog Gino, was given some treats & attention from the staff! Would highly recommend!!!

We headed here for brunch whilst staying in Ventnor and loved it so much we went back again the following day. Cantina is a lovely little restaurant, with a rustic but trendy decor and super friendly staff. We were greeted with a huge smile on both occasion's and served very quickly. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely the best veggie full english I’ve ever had. I opted for the banana bread french toast the next day, which was incredible and like nothing I’ve ever had before. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often!
Forever S — Google review
Cantina is hands down my favourite spot for breakfast on the Isle of Wight, and honestly, it serves the best Full English I’ve ever had—on or off the island. Every visit feels like a treat. The quality of the ingredients is top-tier, everything cooked to perfection and it always hits the spot. We always make sure to visit multiple times when we are on the island What makes the experience even better is the woman who always runs the front. She’s warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind, adding a personal touch you just don’t find often these days. Even when it’s busy, she keeps things moving with a smile and calm energy that sets the tone for a great start to the day. If you’re on the island and love a proper breakfast, Cantina is a must. It’s everything a good café should be: consistent, friendly, and unforgettable.
Theo F — Google review
What an amazing find. This is why it pays to explore more your area and not settle as there are hidden gems out there!! Found the Cantina by pure chance. Managed to get an early table (thanks for fitting us in!), a large one just for 2, right in the window. Cocktails to die for (and she came back and topped us up as there was some left in the shaker), shared hummus, Kathryn had chicken and I had beef rib. Hints of fennel, the sauce was amazing, flavours layered as you dive in! Tiramisu to finish. Reasonably priced and definitely worth a visit.
Simon B — Google review
Fantastic little gem of a place. The service was really friendly despite the fact we were just popping in for a hot drink and some toast. I had genuinely the nicest latte I think I've ever had anywhere. The brunch meals coming out of the kitchen looked amazing so we will definitely return when we are next in Ventnor!
Michaela R — Google review
Made welcome from the moment we walked in to the cafe. Lovely bacon sarnie and Banana bread toast is outstanding. Really tasty coffee and Brewdog beer. Definitely going to return for their breakfast! Highly recommended

Cafe
The Piano Cafe is a charming spot located near Freshwater Bay, making it a popular stop for cyclists and walkers exploring the West Wight. The area offers a quieter and less developed alternative to other parts of the island, perfect for outdoor activities like welly walks or climbing to the Tennyson Monument. Once owned by Queen Victoria's piano tuner, this cafe has maintained its musical tradition with regular live piano performances.
A very much needed food (and coke) stop on a cycling trip around the island. I decided to try something different with the butternut squash dish, served on sourdough with feta, toasted seeds, pesto and a perfect poached egg. Well and truly hit the spot! Recommend! Service was great from all the staff as was the provision for bikes.
Duncan H — Google review
Popped in very last minute for a Saturday lunch, they were very accommodating for 6 of us quite close to closing time, and with 2 different allergies within the family they were great at explaining what was both gluten, and dairy free - with lots of options to choose for. The food was so tasty and the vibes of the cafe were great, with friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend and will be returning next time we’re on the island!
Megan J — Google review
The best coffee we've had on the island. They train the baristas to a high standard and although not the cheapest it is definitely worth the money. Very friendly staff too and dog friendly inside.
Lee E — Google review
Always stop here for lunch on the way round cycling the island. Really good quality food. Friendly and helpful place. Good stop to refill your water bottles and recharge with a really nice sandwich, good choice of lunch options. I had a great tomato and mozzarella sandwich, super fresh and lovely tasting heritage tomatoes with a bit of basil.

Incredible breakfast, their all day brunch menu has something for everyone. We had the pancakes for the kids with some extra bacon , vegetarian bagel and the braised beef benny with some Chorizo Hash browns to share, I didn’t share them though. Delicious food, great coffees, great service lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting again and trying the dinner menu!
Ben B — Google review
I had a breakfast bagel £13.50 and a latte.£3+ the latta was okay but a little small (250ml aprox). The breakfast bagel had good quality bacon but not sausage. There was a lot of crunchy bits in it. I felt it was overpriced. I would have felt better about the price if there was salad on the side. Also can you please sort out the sticky tables and the food in the gaps of a few of your tables. All being said if I was passing I would get a coffee and cake.

One of very few places serving food on a Monday afternoon. We were trying to get to the Needles, but roads leading there were closed. Stopped here after going round and round, starving, kitchen was closing in 20 minutes. A very kind man got a table ready for us outside, promptly took our order and brought our drinks. His pleasant manner certainly calmed our nerves. Most of us ordered crab sandwiches, they arrived quickly, big portion of crab filling in a very fresh bread, delicious. Nice decor inside, restrooms clean. We also received detailed information how to get to our destination through the detours. Highly recommend.

Today me and my friends went in for lunch and me and my vegan friend ordered the vegan pancakes. There was some confusion surrounding the order which resulting in the pancakes coming with dairy yogurt, but the staff were brilliant about it and replaced them quickly and without fun and were very nice about it. The pancakes were lovely, service was great and I’ve often been in here when someone’s playing the piano which really adds to the atmosphere.

Coffee shop
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Newport, Caffe Isola is a delightful retreat for coffee lovers and food enthusiasts alike. This charming café specializes in Island Roasted coffee, allowing patrons to savor each sip while enjoying the unique experience of watching the roasting process from their first-floor vantage point. The menu features an enticing array of Italian-inspired dishes alongside freshly baked pastries and light bites, making it a perfect spot for both a quick espresso or a leisurely cappuccino break.
Bellissimo e buonissimo! Grazie per il cibo, my partner and I really enjoyed the food at Caffè Isola. I personally frequent often for coffee as my regular hangout. See you again soon! ☕️

Service was super quick n friendly. Didn't have to wait long for my take away. The ambience is gorgeous- loved it!! I had a wrap for breakfast- it was very fresh n juicy with all the veggies. Really enjoyed it. I wanted to try the porridge but they said 'porridge pot is broken'. Hellooo you're a restaurant, don't you have a back up! I went there again for lunch as it was convenient but wasn't impressed with food this time. The pasta was good but kinda bland n raw, felt undercooked. I'm not sure if that's how that type of pasta is supposed to be. But definitely not gonna try it again. Not for my taste, sorry.

Lovely cafe in Newport. Just what we were looking for at the end of a busy day. My decaf oat milk latte was one of the best I've had in a very long time.

An interesting coffee shop / café combo. Slightly tricky order process, not made clear what to do or where to go. However, the food and drink is very good. Interesting items to browse and buy, though I think could be merchandised better. Definitely could be five stars with a couple of tweaks and is an asset to the town!
Rob J — Google review
My favourite coffee shop. Must have visited hundreds of times over the years, and yet am still impressed by the quality every time! Best coffee beans on the Isle of Wight, perfectly complimented by local briddlesford farm milk. Food is exceptional- again all local and you can really taste the quality. Cakes are always different, a varied selection with my favourite being the polenta. Atmosphere is perfect, place itself is great with lots of space, a lovely upstairs area, cool design features and local arts and crafts on sale to look through. Staff always super friendly, and have never had nor seen a single coffee served which is not to the highest standard. Could not recommend more. Definitely give Cafe Isola a visit!
Tilly G — Google review
An absolutely outstanding cafe. Terrific toasted brunch dishes, fruity and comforting porridge and excellent drinks. But the coffee is where its at; roasted on premises and utterly delicious. Combine it with a beautiful building and you have a superb venue. The best part is I live nowhere near it, as I would be penniless from being here all the time.

Fantastic lovely local Cafe , lovely and warm and very welcoming atmosphere. My Coffee was perfect and I shall be returning to sample more off the menu. Looking forward to the Christmas evening with the Medina Community Choir in December. Should be a fab evening. 100% the place to grab a cake & coffee or lunch.

Hamburger restaurant

Gastropub
Located at the center of Tapnell Farm, The Cow is a family-friendly restaurant housed in a converted Swiss barn. It prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and is famous for its mouthwatering burgers, which come in various options such as gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan. The restaurant offers stunning views of the Isle of Wight from its mezzanine level and terrace, making it one of the most unique dining spots on the island.
If you’re on the Isle of Wight and craving a seriously good burger, The Cow should be high on your list. As they proudly advertise, they serve one of the tastiest burgers on the island—and they certainly live up to the claim. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, the burgers here are a standout. The atmosphere is welcoming and casual, complemented by a team of friendly and attentive staff who make you feel right at home. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food, and it’s a great spot for families or groups of friends looking for a satisfying meal. The venue is clean and well-kept, with spotless toilets that reflect their attention to detail. While the food is well-priced, the cocktails are on the pricier side, which may be a small downside for those looking to pair their meal with a few drinks. Note: The Cow is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan your visit accordingly.
Vishnu V — Google review
I was intrigued by the onion tower at the table next to us, so I decided to order one 🧅 Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment—the coating was far too hard (maybe too much flour in the batter?) and the texture was unpleasant. It should have been light and crispy, but instead felt heavy. The burger came with chips and the portion size was decent. I tried The Big Smoke, which was fine but not particularly memorable. What really let the dish down were the chips. They didn’t taste fresh or good quality—when you bit into them, they had hollow gaps inside instead of a fluffy, mashed potato filling. On the positive side, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to provide tap water. The restaurant itself has a cool, unique vibe, and even though it wasn’t lunchtime, I noticed people coming in to eat—so I imagine it gets lively during dinner hours.
Leah Z — Google review
A very warm welcome by friendly and helpful staff. Great selection of cow based, (and non-cow based) products for all tastes and preferences. The restaurant was clean and fresh, sympathetic to the farm surroundings. Burgers were great, served quickly, very well presented with generous portions all round. First bite of the Moo Blue Burger and you can taste the stilton. The Fantastic Four is worth a look if you can't decide, and would suit a couple for a meal. Good selection of Camden ales: stouts, pale ale, lager. Well worth a visit to replenish the calorie reserves even if your haven't been on the water park.

Absolutely stunning experience! The food orders were all totally different and wanted bits taken off or added on and one had allergies ( me ) and not one thing missed off the orders , everything was perfect ! Friendly staff & food was delicious !
Melissa F — Google review
Fabulous dining here at the cow. The service was fantastic the food was full of flavour and presented perfectly the dirty fries were awesome. The burgers were juicy and full of flavour by far the best burger I've had on the island. The whole table thoroughly enjoyed their food and deserts. Free table water aswell is a fantastic touch even the lemon and lime slices were put in the correct drinks as an ex bartender this was a very nice touch that gets forgotten far to much in my opinion. I would highly recommend a meal here for the family if your looking for a nice place to eat with some amazing deals.
Jerome M — Google review
An amazing restaurant in the fields offering the best locally made burgers from their own grown cows. The experience is unforgettable. It's just like my old memories of visiting Jeju Island in South Korea.
Fazlollah S — Google review
Amazing food, really top notch! Gluten free options brilliant, You can opt for GF bap or no bun....if you go no bun, they reduce the price slightly which is fantastic considering the number of places that charge the same! Thoroughly recommend everything!

Cafe
Nestled on the picturesque St. Helens Duver Beach, Baywatch on the Beach Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone exploring the east side of the island. This charming café offers a delightful escape with its relaxed atmosphere and stunning seaside views. Whether you're in the mood for freshly brewed coffee, delectable cakes, or savory seafood dishes like linguine or garlic king prawns, every bite is prepared with care right on-site.
Stopped by on our morning stroll for a quick breakfast. We had x2 bacon + egg and x2 sausage + egg brioche buns. Definitely the best cafe food I've had at the beach for a reasonable price given the quality and location! Lovely staff and a very chilled out environment, it was certainly a welcome surprise. We would absolutely recommend 👌 Also, very dog friendly with a tap outside the toilets.
Rachel W — Google review
Good quality food with a range of choices and presentations. Fair price for a beachfront location and welcoming of people and dogs with their own mini menu. We had a lunch of chicken wraps and tuna mayo baguette with two drinks for £22 which was nicely presented. Group of tables outside with umbrellas for shade on a sunny day but also inside space for cooler weather. Staff friendly and helpful and service good on a very busy day. Right next to the National Trust St Helen's duvet sandy dunes. Also has good selection of cakes and snacks with a hot drink for afternoons. Definitely worth a visit.
Pauleen L — Google review
Food was fine but cutlery was water stained to the point of appearing to be dirty, I had to search for clean cutlery. I ordered a standard breakfast and had to wait 1hr and 10 mins to be served when the cafe was less than a quarter full. Toast and butter packet was served on top of the breakfast and I had to ask for a side plate. On clearing the table the waitress asked if everything was all right and I replied that I had waited an hour and ten minutes for food after paying she just smirked and walked off without saying anything. Food was fine and staff were polite, just not very good.
Neil S — Google review
Nice cafe right on the beach. There’s a good menu selection of hot food and seafood and sandwiches. They do good coffee here too. There lots of outdoor seating on picnic beaches overlooking the beach. Good place to get a bite to eat and look at the sea. Public toilets next door.
Chris G — Google review
Only called in for a coffee and excellent it was too. Pebble and sandy beaches less than a stone's throw, so easy to keep an eye on the youngsters
Barry J — Google review
Place to avoid. We came there for a cup of tea. I asked for a top up of hot water which to my surprise was refused by the waitress. I never experienced this response before. Most cafes generously offer to top up the teapot with hot water. I called for the manager, and the owner finally turned up. With a total despise he explained that he was here to make money and did not care about what customers said. He would not listen to our explanation at all and kept smiling with a content arrogance. Then he started lying, pretending that we had been asking twice the waitress for a hot water top up and that the (5!) cameras located inside the cafe were showing it. From the moment he produced that lie we knew that we would not have a chance to have a reasonable discussion with the man. Such dishonesty is appalling and I prefer not to imagine how he treats his staff. I am not concerned for him because greed never wins on the long run. I am more concerned for his staff. He employs an army of young people probably because they can be easily manipulated. Yes, a place to avoid definitely.
Alan B — Google review
Turned up at 4:30pm on a Wednesday. Two young waitresses have closed up for the day. My family and 4 other groups turned away. Crazy, not like there’s another cafe here unfortunately.
Bishop — Google review
Terrible place in a beautiful spot on the beach. Missed opportunity to have an amazing beach cafe. August 2nd & height of season. No tomato ketchup. No draught lager, no glasses offered with a bottle of beer & 2 cans of drinks for the kids. The kids burgers were overcooked and very dry. Exact money only as no change given for cash payments. On the plus side the ice creams in the adjacent hut were delicious 😋

Located between Ryde beach and Puckpool Park, The Dell is a charming spot offering brunch, lunch, and summer evening dining with stunning views of the Solent. Visitors can park at Puckpool car park and take a leisurely stroll along the seafront or enjoy sitting around tables on the seawall to watch the tide. It's a popular destination for dog-walkers, strollers, and cyclists, providing a great place for rest and relaxation after exploring the surrounding areas.
This is without doubt the best place so far for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We came across it after a walk 2 days earlier and just had a drink, and decided this was the place for us after looking at going to a more traditional style place. The staff, some young, were so nice and attentive. The food was amazing and the menu perfectly matched the setting. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Our bill reflects what we had as it would have just been rude not to have a bottle of fizz to celebrate.😎

Such a lovely place! The Dell is a gem in Ryde. Fresh, flavorful dishes with great attention to detail. The beef and pork were outstanding: tender and beautifully cooked. The staff really kind, and the sea view made it extra special. A place I’d happily return to!

Brilliant!!! The Dell saved the day with wonderful food and service! We had planned an anniversary celebration meal with 27 people at a different restaurant but due to unforeseen circumstances they had to cancel an hour or so before. We called the Dell and they were brilliant at accommodating us! We couldn’t have asked for better food, service and atmosphere. There was even live music! Thank you so much

Apparently it is a well known or famous cafe in Isle of Wight. O_o You need to make a reservation when trying to dine in this cafe, for it is very busy. We made reservation for Monday Mid July 2025, for 10:45am, and the cafe was still busy. Staff were busy and servitude, no time wasting. Food did not take long to arrive after placing our orders, but drinks took longer than I expected, though it was because they were busy. I ordered the banana+dates smoothie, it looked so nice in the glass and I liked the taste, not many may like this drinks. Others ordered a Macha Latte, quantity was good but one of them had too much rose inside. The food I ordered was American style pancakes with bacon; and added syrup. Though my syrup had less amount, but I was given more syrup in a mini cup when I asked. Others at my table ordered Full English breakfast, another ordered poached egg, and another ordered chorizo hash. The poached egg comes with avocado, but the avocado was hard (unripe). Chorizo hash tasted so nice, it tasted like Korean topokki. In terms of the taste of the food, they were delicious! However the portion size were very small in regards to the price. When I saw the full English breakfast, it looked like a dish that wouldn't fill me up. My American bacon pancakes came with 5 slices of pancakes, though small in shape. Bakebeans for the full English tasted like Heinz but with different beans added to it. I would not recommend the chorizo hash as breakfast but for lunch as it will fill you up quickly, unless you are good with potato for breakfast. Price for 5 drinks and 5 food including tips, came to a total of £95. For a breakfast. The toilet had a little bit of queue or wait time. The cafe and outside sitting were clean enough. Cafe is pets friendly, so bring your dogs along. The nice thing about this cafe is they change their menus twice a year which is a refresher for the locals. Would I recommend this place? I would recommend because the food isn't just a regular dish served like other places, you can actually taste the goodness and quality of the food. The only off putting thing is the price and portion, I don't mind the price but the portion size needs to justify the price point. It is advisable to make reservations here.
David O — Google review
Beautiful location and very popular cafe as generally you need to have a reservation. Disappointed as ordered toast and preserves. The sour dough toast was burnt and the perseve that accompanied it was a bitter tasting orange marmalade that did not improve the burnt toast taste. The coffee lattes were served cold in cups that are worn and possibly need replacing.

My husband and I had coffee and breakfast here on a sunny Saturday morning. It has a very pleasant terrace. The food we ate was delicious, the coffee portion was quite large. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. Thank you.

The Royal Hotel, a grand establishment dating back to 1832, offers elegant rooms, an upscale restaurant, and an outdoor pool. It is a family-friendly hotel that goes beyond providing just the basics for children. The staff are attentive and accommodating, catering to families with young children by offering pureed meals for babies and warm milk for toddlers. This venerable grande dame on the Isle of Wight exudes an atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era while still maintaining its vibrancy.
A hotel that actually delivers what it promises. The Royal has wonderful old school charm which is very rare these days. The Staff are very very attentive and seem genuinely interested that everything is right for you. (very rare). The pool area and garden is the highlight of this hotel...if you hit good weather you will spend all your time here. very very relaxing. The restaurant is proper old school great service restaurant. My only slight warning is that if you visit during a heatwave I would imagine the rooms are very hot (No AC)...mine (on the top floor) was warm in just daytime temperatures of 20ºC, so in 30ºC I couldn't imagine it would be quite um hot! All in all brilliant

Quaintly old school, but wonderful for that very concept. Food absolutely delicious, however as I am a vegetarian I couldn't have stayed longer than 3 days on that menu. Gardens are exquisite, the gardener should get a bonus for it's beauty and care. So why oh why is the interior of the hotel plastered with fake plants, mainly orchids. Not what you would expect in a fine hotel. Staff,as everyone says are fabulous and it's very very clean everywhere if a little tired in places, which probably adds to its charm

We had a lovely lunch at the royal. It was a place I have always wanted to go and it did not disappoint. It’s like stepping back in time. Lovely large dining hall with ample seating and enough tables for a vibrant yet chilled afternoon lunch. The food was superb. The Sunday roast was just perfect. Again the staff were so good well presented and extremely polite and friendly. It was a perfect afternoons lunch. Well done we will return.

Went for an alfresco lunch. Lovely seasonal menu with a good choice of wine by the glass. Perfectly served IOW tomatoes. Bar staff are very efficient and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. It’s a very relaxing, spacious garden to sit in with nice chairs and shade if you require it. Toilets are near the bar on the ground floor and are very clean. The hand wash is amazing.

My husband and I had a champagne cream tea at the weekend. We live locally and have had many lovely afternoons/evenings at this delightful hotel. As always the gardens are absolutely beautiful (especially as it was a blue sky sunny day) the staff attentive, professional and friendly. Although we are always happy with the food, this was by far the best cream tea we have ever had ! Enough for me to write a review as did not want this to go unnoticed. The scones were delicious and super fresh as were the finger sandwiches (I'm a vegetarian so the choice is not always exciting, but it certainly was on this occasion) and the really tasty cakes. I usually take what I can't eat home, but it was so exceptional,I managed to eat it all !!!!!! There was also no compromise with the champagne, it was top quality. Extremely high standards, arguably the best on the Island.

We had a wonderful afternoon tea here. The food (and tea) were fab - best scones we've ever had! Internal communication could do some work as they confirmed veggie food for us (twice) and then on the day "had to check with the kitchen", and they also forgot about the extra treat that they had offered for my guest's special birthday, but still rating 5/5 as it made for a very special afternoon :)
K R — Google review
Customer service was second to none, they were all very helpful and friendly, just like home from home. Food was of a very high standard and well presented. The initial thing that needs to be looked as is the communal areas (very dull and durgy) and the reception floor has Marine paint on it where as there is a beautiful parquet flooring underneath. There needs to be a bit more as they will be beautiful with the plans John has for them. Parking at the entrance should stop as it is detrimental to the presentation of the hotel. It was very good value for money.

Sadly we have not stayed here yet but spent the last evening of August enjoying lovely cocktails under the vines and trailing geraniums outside overlooking the pool and beautiful gardens. It is such a wonderful establishment with quite a unique ambience, my relatives used to visit back in the 60s and 70s. We would especially like to mention Jade the mixologist who took good care of us and introduced the Wasabi amaretto sour to my husband, he had more than one! I really hope the hotel values Jade as it seems difficult to find good young staff on the island, Jade was professional, advised on the cocktail list and was happy to mix on request, really personable and she added to our evening and great memories in Ventnor.

Lady Scarlett's Tea Parlour on Ventnor Beach is a quirky and fun recreation of a 1940s tea parlour with great cream teas. The cafe has an amazing WWII theme and eclectic drinks menu. It's a great place to relax after exploring the coast or just have some afternoon tea.
What a gem of a place. Decor is delightful, really quirky and fun. My son and I had afternoon tea. It was absolutely delicious, plentiful and a real treat. They even made sausages for our two dogs. Service was excellent, everyone was welcoming and couldn’t do enough to ensure we were happy. Highly recommend.

A wonderful step back in time. From the outside you don't really appreciate how interesting and cool this place is. I'm sure it's a certain age group, but even if you're not a child of the 50s or 60s and waxed nostalgic about these times this is like a little bit of history. The decor and atmosphere aside, the tea and coffee served in retro cups, the food is simple ( paninis and sandwiches) but also indulgent, with pastries and cakes all home-made. And the couple that run it are absolutely delightful and charming. Put this on your list of things to do in Ventnor. PS make sure you go to the toilet there! Don't think I've ever said that on a review before!!!

I have never reviewed anywhere before but feel compelled to review Lady Scarlett’s, Ventnor. The outside and entrance give no clue as to how lovely this little cafe is. The staff here were very welcoming and friendly and extremely helpful with our 91 year old mum who is in a wheelchair. The afternoon tea was excellent. We were given a lovely variety of mini pies, sandwiches, cakes and scones all accompanied by delicious tea served in china tea pots (with knitted cosies) to be drunk from bone china cups. The cafe is decorated with a huge variety of 1940’s memorabilia, both interesting and humerus which we all enjoyed. The service was excellent. We were given the right amount of attention and plenty of time and felt thoroughly relaxed. The food that we couldn’t manage to eat was beautifully packed for us to take away. I would thoroughly recommend a visit and will be returning myself with other friends and family.

This cafe is an absolute must visit if you’re in Ventnor, we try to go anytime we’re there! The homemade cakes we had recently were absolutely delicious and they also have a variety of drinks, savoury food and ice cream, all for a very affordable price. The owners and staff are lovely and the cafe has a really cool WW2 theme inside which makes you feel like you’ve gone back in time! The cafe is also great in any type of weather - the seats outside overlooking the sea are perfect for a sunny day, and it's super cosy inside if the weather’s not so good. I’d highly recommend visiting!

My two pals and I were on a bike tour around the IoW and stopped in Ventnor. This place is very subtle on the outside but is amazing on the inside. The toilet is like an air raid shelter! Machine guns on the ceiling and bullets for light pull cords, it is a fascinating place to see. The staff are ever so friendly and chatty. We all had a bacon baguette and a beer on the tables outside and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. Highly recommended. There is parking along the front but is popular. There is a car park further up the road. There is a single cubicle toilet (air raid shelter) and tables outside as well as inside. There is hand sanitiser and a small step on entry.

We stopped here for a drink and we're just taken back by the amazing vibe, décor and full on WW2 theme. We spotted a crab pasty on the menus so order it to share. We hadn't had crab before and I have to say, it was good in size, piping hot, flavourful and had a sweetness to it that just hit the craving spot. We were lucky enough to turn up when they had live music, again in tune with the WW2 theme. Will most definitely be back to sample more.of the menus and soak up the vibe. Staff were amazing, friendly and seemed like all they wanted to do was make our afternoon.

We had a great lunch here on Sunday and even took home some cake. The fish finger sandwiches were lovely, they came with fries and salad. Good portion size I would say. Delicious coffee, in gorgeous mugs (made by Chessell I believe) I took away a piece of the carrot cake which was divine. It took a while to choose mind, the selection of cakes is impressive! Friendly attentive staff who despite the lunchtime rush, did their very best to bring us our food quickly so we didn’t miss our ferry home. I would definitely come here again.

A wonderful hidden gem on the IOW serving the best coffee around and beautiful big fresh breakfasts! It’s dog friendly and vegan friendly too! Five plus really. Menu looks a little expensive at first glance but the sandwiches have unusual and tasty fillings and are well worth it. If you can imagine a little oasis of calm this is it. Obviously a cycling and dog walking Mecca judging by the customers. Cycle racks near the garden tables. Very nicely tended and designed garden area dominated by an ancient willow.

Nestled in the secluded and charming Steephill Cove, The Crab Shed is a hidden gem known for its delicious seafood offerings. Accessible only by foot or boat, this tiny cove is home to one of the island's best-kept secrets. The shed offers hot crab pasties, lobster salad, and mackerel ciabattas made from freshly caught seafood.
The lovely ladies and exceptional scenery of Steephill Cove make eating at The Crab Shed a wonderful experience and I haven't even mentioned the famous Crab Pasties yet! They were absolutely delicious, hot, straight out of the oven and tasted incredible! Crab mixed with vegetables inside a flaky pasty - what's not to love? The pictures say it all. You cannot miss this place, drop in and you won't be disappointed! Fabulous, thank you!

Delicious food in a beautiful little cove, well worth the climb down. We parked in the Botanical Gardens, cost £5 all day (the only option unless you are spending £20+ at the Botanical Gardens, then it's free). We walked up the road, past the lovely cricket club and took Love Lane, which leads to the path down to the cove.

Genuinely some of the best food I've ever had - the salmon pasty was made of the flakiest, butteriest pastry I've ever eaten, filled with a generous amount of salmon and a lovely creamy sauce (dill I think?). Crab pasties looked lovely - I didn't have one, but those I was with did and said they were incredible, looked lovely even to me as someone who doesn't like seafood very much! Seating is limited but has a nice view of Steephill Cove, although you could also probably just leave and find a pretty spot to sit/.

The Crab Shed is situated in Steephill Cove. It is approximately 1.5 mile walk from Ventnor, following the Coastal Path. It is very hilly in place. We had heard such good this regarding this place, so decided to go. It is a cute place situated on the cove. It was busy despite it being early lunchtime time. We had come specifically for Crab. There was a queue and couldn't see Crab in the menu. Eventually asked a young member of staff, who was bringing out orders. I was informed they had run out of Crab pasties already and they had nothing else that contained it. We left very disappointed. I appreciate that it is a small business and cannot cater for everyone. I wouldn't bother walking there again. We returned to Ventnor and obtained Crab sandwiches from there.

Nice, you might have to queue at times, but it does go down quickly. Could do with opening the other door they have to go in & out as when you queue it makes it difficult for people to get in especially with a pram.

Wasn't expecting such a thick iced latte (I ordered the biscoff one), but it tasted lovely. Unfortunately couldn't pick up on the coffee flavour though. It was so thick I thought it was a milkshake! I have always loved and recommended this place as the food, service and atmosphere are almost always great. However, I simply cannot recommend this place anymore with how outrageous the prices are. After the prices drove me away for a few years I decided to give it a try again, but spent nearly £40 on 2 waffles and 2 coffees! Yes, the food was nice, but it certainly wasn’t £40 nice. It’s such a shame as this was one of our local favourites to support, but now myself and my friends simply can’t justify or afford going here anymore… :(

A well decorated, welcoming coffee shop with a varied, well priced menu. There is outdoor seating to be found out the back and a nice variety of comics to read while you wait etc. There is also a decent selection of Marvel/DC figurines, keyrings, mugs, and comics and graphic novels for sale. Definitely worth a visit and I'll certainly be visiting again in the near future!

Excellent independent coffee shop. The decor is excellent with the entire place decorated to appeal to comic and gaming enthusiasts, and the entire menu is also themed in the same way. They provide an array of comics and graphic novels to read whilst you drink and dine, free WiFi to enjoy, and they sell new comics and all sorts of related merchandise. The location is amazing, and is easy to find from the no.7 bus stop. The walk down, while not too steep, would not be suitable for someone with mobility issues, but good parking at the restaurant and beach in general. I had one of the daily specials, the baked plaice with crayfish tails, and my partner had the seafood pasta. The plaice was okay, but smelt a little too fishy. I initially wondered if it was really fresh, but it tasted good, and I think the aroma was from the anchovies, part of the caper butter sauce. While I love anchovy, it didn’t work here. I think a caper and lemon butter or a crayfish tail and seafood bisque type sauce would work much better. The seafood pasta was good, and the large prawns the highlight, but a massive portion. Lost a star as we don’t like large portions generally, and the smaller portions said only for kids. Service and price all okay.
Laura B — Google review
Only stopped off for a quick drink but was a nice place and staff friendly. A couple of ales to choose from and one local. Would have liked to sit by the window but reserved for dining customers. Also you have to pay for parking on the sea front. I can imagine in the summer periods this would get very busy but was empty in March. I can see the appeal of the location on the sea front and is a beautiful setting. Overall though nice place.

A very lovely location with delicious foods and complemented with an amazing customer service from them. We make an over the phone booking as we have a pet tortoise with us. The waitress ended up helping us to reserve a very nice pet friendly spot even though the restaurant is almost fully booked when we called. They even helped find food for Mochi (a strawberry) before we left. I would like to apologise if it causes too much of a scene near the bar and ends up affecting other customers.

Incredible location, lots of interesting history, and very friendly staff. The food tasted very good, especially since the kitchen was apparently under strain. Only issue was that the prawn curry didn't have much sauce which was a shame since it tasted brilliant! I recommend eating here for dinner! Just book in advance as they were turning away anyone who hadn't pre-booked since every table was booked

A great find! The menu has enough variety to make it interesting and create difficulty choosing, but small enough that each dish could be done well. We had the broccoli salad and stuffed fig (special) to start, followed by the duck and sea bass (I think - it was served on risotto with tender stem broccoli). All the food was excellent. The main portion of the dish, the sides, sauces, vegetables - all of it, with wonderful attention to detail with each plate attractively arranged and served. For the standard of food, the views and standard of service and cleanliness, you’d have a job finding many places better. As for the price point, it’s exceptional value for money. If you’re coming to IoW, make sure this place is first on your list.

Went for breakfast so can only comment on that. Ordered Harbour breakfast consisting of 2 rashers, 1 sausage 1 fried egg 1 pot of beans. Bacon tasteless, sausage luke warm but tasty, egg tasteless, beans ok. Also had a pot of tea which was not to my liking. Nice cafe situated right next to Yarmouth Pier. There’s some parking in front of the cafe but presume in peak times this may be full majority of the time. Food is reasonably priced and service was good. I had a chilli con carne jacket potato and the portion and taste was really good. My partner had a crab sandwich which he said was nice. It did have some shell in it but they do warn you before hand that due to it being so fresh and hand picked this may happen.

Not a welcoming place. We bought 2 x cakes and 2 x lattes at £19, and we had to collect it ourself when clearly there are waitresses working here.. didnt feel welcomed at all.
Ali E — Google review
I was visiting the Yarmouth area and stumbled on this nice looking café. My initial interaction with the staff was great where I ordered some food and desserts and was served swiftly which I was content with. The desserts are so so good but unfortunately the prawn and crab was one of the worst things Ive ever tried. Raw and foul odour emanated from the wrap so I genuinely could not take more than 1 bite and had to desert the food only eating the dessert. As I was still hungry I went back to order something else and this time at the register I had asked if the chicken was halal as I am *not* a Christian so needed to know if I am able to eat the chicken prepared in the the shop. The lady who took my question up to the chef was lovely and her service was stellar which I appreciate but unfortunately the cashier which was an old woman kept frowning and staring me down after that question unlike my first interaction with her which made me extremely uncomfortable. I was reconsidering ordering from there as the period of time between when the young lady went to the kitchen to check and came back felt so so bad with judgemental looks as if I did something wrong?? That attitude continued on as I checked out when she kept asking me if I wanted the chicken and pork (I cannot eat pork) or sweet chicken to which I answered sweet chicken. I guess she wasnt listening as two seconds later she asked again in an annoyed tone whether I wanted the sweet chicken or the other option to which I again politely answered sweet chicken please and went to pay. The receipt printing and conversation after was again all in an annoyed tone but I left it. This experience was definitely not something I appreciated, considering the first time I ordered was fine when nobody knew as a Muslim I eat halal food... In any case, the second round of actually edible food was good, I must say the pizza was absolutely amazing. I had a slice from my friends plate and it was so good so its something Id highly recommend. Remember to never order the shrimp and crab wrap as for me, the memory of taking a bite of that still sickens me and I would not wish it on anybody. Massive thanks to all the staff and chefs of the restaurant, they were great. It is truly a shame that a single interaction with the cashier brought this score down as I am still unhappy with how our conversation went and how she behaved and displayed poor hospitality.

The Garlic Farm Shop and Restaurant is a specialist farm shop with a restaurant that offers home-grown garlic and an array of garlic-inspired products. Located near the Sandown-Newport cycle path, it provides an opportunity for visitors to explore the extensive grounds and learn about garlic production. The farm also offers tours of Arreton Valley by foot or tractor, providing a fun day out for families.
Bit of a tourist trap but I still love to visit this place every time I’m on the IOW. It’s got a pretty woodland/field area to walk around and some lovely artisanal, garlicky products to take home! Their ice cream is very good too. Would definitely recommend a pitstop here to stock up and/or enjoy their restaurant, serving some delicious dishes.

Definitely worth visiting this farm that you could easily spend your whole afternoon there. The place is well kept and all the staff were really friendly. Highly recommended!! The farm shop is really nice (in both look and smell) and the products looked really good in quality. We definitely loaded ourselves with lots of garlics 🤣🤣 The restaurant is packed during lunch. Unfortunately we didn't make a booking so we ended up just having some scones, cheese board and ice cream after lunch time. The lunch menu looks really nice though! Oh yes, the staff at the restaurant also treat our pet tortoise Mochi a proper served free strawberry =) We will definitely revisit again in the future!!

🌟The Garlic Farm – Sandown, Isle of Wight🌟 A lovely stop! The shop is nicely kept – clean, well presented, and everything is laid out in a way that’s really appealing. There’s a great range of garlic-themed goodies, perfect for gifts or personal treats. I also bought a bottle of Cold Garlic Beer to try – an interesting one! To me, it tasted a bit like a watery Guinness. Not really to my taste, but I can see how some people might enjoy it for the novelty. Plenty of free parking made the visit easy and stress-free. Definitely worth a stop if you’re nearby!

I love the Garlic Farm. Nice walk around the area. Spend loads of money on garlic related bits. Have all the free samples you can eat. I mean try little bits of each. Took a massive amount of the vampire hot sauce. Way hotter than I expected. So that was fun.
Matt P — Google review
Came here after finding this place on Google and oh my it didn't disappoint. There is soo much to do here with the family and has a wide variety of products that are just soo tasty. We also went for breakfast here and it was lovely, wonderfully presented and came rather fast after we ordered, and was served with their own 2 kinds of ketchup (the black garlic ketchup was amazing but the garlic ketchup was too vinegary in my opinion) it was a good breakfast however my criticism of this is that it would be better with chargrilled bacon rather than having hot held bacon (could definitely tell it was hot held bacon as it was starting to turn a bit leathery) also maybe having the addition of a hash brown or black/white pudding. The servers were lovely and helpful people and the coffees that we got were amazing quality. If your in the IOW then definitely take a detour here as it will be worth your time.

I read all the reviews before visiting and it was a pleasure! The restaurant was fantastic! We pre booked and had the nicest garlicky lunch! Too bad for people who don't like garlic! The shop was lovely with so many garlic products. We bought different varieties of garlic and vampire slayer sauce which is v hot and garlicky. The farm walk wasn't good enough, it would be better to take a guided tour as v could not appreciate much walking by ourselves. We did not see any crops as well. But restaurant and shop is a fantastic visit if you are in the area. Wonderful experience!

Wonderful! Gorgeous setting, fabulous food, and so much delicious garlic. We stayed at the Garlic Farm for a short escape to the island in September. The cottage was perfect. Lovingly decorated and perfect for a family of 4. A big highlight of the weekend was the Farm Tour. Our tour guide (and one of the farm owners) Colin is incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. He clearly deeply cares for the farm and for the farm guests. Colin took so much time and patiently answered all our questions. What the family have built on the Garlic Farm is extraordinary! We will definitely be back. From The Goodwins

Quarr Abbey is a serene Benedictine monastery located near the Fishbourne ferry port. Visitors of all ages are welcome to explore the grounds and enjoy cream teas at the coffee shop. The abbey also offers free tours, and visitors can feed pigs with food purchased on-site. Additionally, there's a woodland trail suitable for an off-road pushchair, and kids can make the most of their visit by hiring an activity pack.
Lovely place with great food and service. Good shop and craft outlets to view and buy things, we didn't go into the Abbey itself this visit as we had our dog with us, but have on previous visits, well worth spending some time doing so.

A really beautiful place and very peaceful. Not wise to go when weather is hot which it was today as other than the short woodland walk there isn’t much shade and at the cafe, obviously everyone grabs the tables in the shade or inside so no chance of keeping out of the hot sun. After seeing the quite high prices of the food and having to queue for ages, I gave up and left. But, on a cooler day, a perfect place to spend some time at . Will go again when weather a bit cooler.
Janette S — Google review
Parked in the large free car park and walked around the spacious grounds, enjoyed coffee and cake in the cafe and visited inside the Abbey. There is a nice little shop which sells lots of interesting items including jams, chutneys and bottles of alcoholic beverages to take away. They have lots of pigs and piglets...a hide where you may be lucky to see red squirrels as well as birds. The ruins of the old abbey are within half a mile walk. Dogs welcome.
Linda H — Google review
Loved visiting the pigs before you get to the Abbey. Very stunning building not what I expected to see, very modern inside. Could find the old chapel due to poor signage from the roadway. Lots of parking.
Karen A — Google review
The weather was against us - the first rainy day for a long time. But we were made welcome, even the 2 dogs were fussed over in the art gallery and gift shop. Very pleasant staff, especially at the cafe despite the appalling weather. Stood and watched the sows with their baby piggies, we didn't get a chance to feed them. But we promise to visit again.

Off The Rails is a unique restaurant located in Yarmouth's former train station along the old railway line, offering stunning views of the Yarmouth Marshes and Mill Copse. It's conveniently situated just a short walk from the Yarmouth Wightlink Ferry terminal, making it an ideal stop for walkers, cyclists, and visitors to the Isle of Wight. The restaurant welcomes dogs and even has a special menu for them, including dry meals, treats, and dog-friendly ice cream.
This themed restaurant is an absolute must to visit! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here! The portion sizes are very generous. As a vegetarian the vegan burger is a must to try with a lovely soy burger with two hash browns! They have a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. I would highly recommend visiting this place for a stop in Yarmouth.

Just wow, the Trackside fish finger sandwich is divine. Enough for 2 people with the salad. Service is brilliant (owner's son served us!) and really good atmosphere and interior design and attention to detail. Parking can be tricky as it's a residential street with permits. Worthwhile booking ahead online, but as went after holidays, it was quiet on the Friday.

One of the best breakfast spot we have tried so far in Isle of Wight. If you are in Isle of Wight/Yarmouth then you haveeee to visit Off The Rails. To begin with, the designs, decoration and the menu is one of a kind I have never seen anything like this. Food wise, it’s a 10/10! We tried The Luggage which is an American burger with chips and Smokebox which is a Cuban sandwich. Both are orgasmically good!! And lastly, the location wise it’s in a perfect spot, where you get to see the vase greenery of Yarmouth from the wide windows. And seating wise, there are plenty of seats and they have outdoor seating as well!

Really beautifully done restaurant set in a disused railway station. The food was excellent and you can take your dog in with you. There were some great menu choices and even treats amd ice cream for the pup.

Absolute gem of a place. The service from all staff is so friendly and thoughtful, we visited with our Nan who is in a wheelchair and they were so helpful to point out the different accessible doors and even held the doors for us. The food is great, there are so many vegan options and everyone enjoyed what they had. The menu is creative and different, all the food is delicious. The drinks were also fantastic, we were so impressed with the quality of the coffees (we sampled the flat whites, lattes and mochas, fantastic) Definitely worth a visit for breakfast/lunch/coffee and cake!

Great place. While the idea of the train station cafè is quirky, alongside the no longer in service railway line, the menu really packs a punch. Good quality ingredients well put together, to make a really wide offering of dishes. I would suggest that the ‘child’ portions be renamed ‘smaller plates’ or similar - open to all to order, as the regular portions are massive - I could only manage 1/3 of my dish. The Chai latte on its own is worth a 3 hour swim from the mainland - epic. (Photos of tacos and mackerel bruschetta)

Came here for a bite to eat around lunch time, wasn't busy (dog friendly). I got the fish and chips, it was good, but a bit pricey for just fish and chips. I love tartar sauce, but some of the chunks were a bit large, some were half as big as my pinky finger (pickles, I think), so it is very very chunky. Good flavor though. My partner had a fish hot dog (sea dog) which was pretty good, preferred it to the fish and chips. The views outside were wonderful and it was quite relaxing. The staff were friendly as well.
Rebekah M — Google review
Enjoyed a Friday supper here. The really friendly women at the welcome desk said there were no available tables inside as fully booked (7.30pm) but she thought give or take 10 minutes and she’d be able to find us something - she did and we had a great table by the bar before 8pm. Marked down one star on food, as the fried fish was just a tad greasy, and hubby has had indigestion ever since his whitebait. Espresso coffee pretty good, which is hard to find in a pub!

Just a couple of Kiwis on a working holiday in the UK and we stumbled across The Lifeboat during our Isle of Wight visit. The location, the atmosphere, the staff, the food & drinks = perfection! We got a combination of drinks and food - main star of the show was the fish and chips! It was HUGE and tasty! Really nice tartar sauce and the chips were delicious. Would 110% recommend anyone to visit!

Good selection of beer including some nice guest ales. Didn't have food but it all looked amazing as it was being served. Servers were all very attentative, constantly on the move serving food and clearing tables. Great location on the marina too. It's a Monday evening and it is very busy so must be popular with locals too.

It was very kind of the chef to cook the Moo Burger for me as it was no longer listed on the menu. I had found an older menu online and gone there looking forward to having it. I was actually very pleased with it. It far exceeded my expectations, and I am a bit of a burger connoisseur! As we live in Cambridgeshire I won’t be going back for another burger soon, but I will go back to the IoW and when I do, I will go back to the Lifeboat for another of their burgers - and try a different one. I’ll let you know how I get on when I do!

Stopped here on a rainy Friday morning in Ryde. Just stopped for a hot drinks, and ordered two Mocha's. Have to say they were some of the best Mocha we'd ever had. Great place for a drink stop and a snack or light lunch or afternoon cake. Has a nice vibe, and have no faulting of the staff. Wow! What an unexpected delight and treat to stumble across this store. If you are a chocoholic, this place needs to be on your IoW places to visit. The freshly made chocolates were superb! On the advise of the store staff, I purchased the two she recommended- the cappuccino was smashing as well as the rose, which tasted like a lovely Turkish delight. Their cakes and hot chocolates too are smashing - lovely food all in all!

The family at AtlasAdventured recommends coming here! Amazing place for drinks! The name caught my eye, the inside of the restaurant made me want to stay all day, but the hot chocolate is what stole the show. We ordered a few coffee drinks, which were so delicious, but the kids' hot chocolate was the best. It’s more of a drinking chocolate, thick and rich but not too sweet. It’s in a great location, right on the esplanade and directly across from the bus and train stations. Cute interior and very clean. They have beautiful chocolates for sale and a great selection of baked goods. We only came for the drinks, but next time we’ll get some delicious looking bakes!

We popped across from the mainland for dinner, and loved the idea of burgers and milkshake for dinner. Upon arrival we were shown upstairs and there was lots of seating available. The menu had lots of options and we were very pleased with the options that we had chosen. The chips were very good and we were impressed by them. The size of the steak was also very impressive! The milkshakes were delicious, a slightly larger straw would be useful as things got stuck in the end of the straw. If you are tall, mind your head upstairs as it does hurt when you walk into the doorway. There are lots of signs but worth being aware.

First time here. Was greeted straight away with rude staff and was told not to walk through the door as there was no entry. No sign was visible, I explained it was my first time at the location. We decided to visit the Freshwater Coffee House yesterday as a little treat to ourselves after having a swim at the leisure centre nearby. It had a nice atmosphere and we were impressed by the range of drinks on offer and the cakes/pastries available. As we were on a budget, we chose to share a small pot of fruity tea (priced at £4 on the menu) and asked if we could have an extra cup - no problem, we were told that we’d only get one cup each out of the pot and said that was fine (we didn’t want to have a big drink as we’d be driving back to Cowes afterwards). We also decided to share the apple and cinnamon bun (which was large) and asked for an extra plate for that too. No problem. The tea was served fairly promptly with a little timer to show how long it had been stewing but there was no sign of the bun. We waited about five minutes before we questioned where it was and it appeared a few minutes later - maybe this part of the order had just been forgotten about? The drink was good, the bun was delicious. However, when I went to pay, the bill was higher than expected. I knew the tea was £4 but the bill came to £9.95 so I questioned the price of the bun - was it really 5.95?! She said no, we charged an extra £1 for an extra plate. I wasn’t impressed as I’d have said not to bother with the extra plate if I’d have been told that when we ordered. That must have shown in my face as she removed the extra plate charge from the bill. I then said, so the bun was 4.95? She said, no it was £4. I asked again why the increase in price. I was told there was a charge for the extra cup we requested for the tea as tea is expensive! I then said that we had exactly the same amount of tea as it’s put into the pot, not the cups so why are we being charged extra again? If we’d have been told at the time of ordering, we’d have just shared the cup! This charge was also then removed from the bill. I’m really disappointed that two extra charges were made to the bill without being told up front that this would be the case - instead they were added to the bill without our knowledge and only removed when I questioned them. We would have made this a regular place to visit as we live on the island and come over to Freshwater at least twice a week to visit the pool and family who are from the area. After this experience though, we’ve been left with a very sour fast in our mouths despite the food and drink being delicious 😔 very disappointed to have been treated like this.

I'm torn reviewing No3. I want to share just how good No3 is, but at the same time keep it to myself. The menu is driven by what they purchase that day. Last night it was four starters and three mains. Our food was simply perfect. Melt in you mouth lamb, and a sirloin in a mushroom and truffle sauce with every flavour complimenting each other. Desert was the same, the homemade ice cream which was literely cream. I cannot recommend No3 enough. We will certainly be returning.

We eat out quite a lot, especially in London, and this was honestly one of the nicest meals we've had in a long time. Everything was just so fresh and beautifully cooked, and the staff were lovely. A real treat. We hope to be back soon!

Wonderful little quirky restaurant. With no published menu, just turn up and expect to be given a hand written menu with a small set of around 7 varied dishes, all served as tasting plates - slightly larger portions than tapas, but not full meals. On our visit we got through 5 between 2 people, in addition to the amuse bouche, bread and black garlic butter and mini desert. We still found space for an additional salted caramel ice cream (slightly over salted to my tastes) and 2(!) bottles of Orange Wine, another unusual thing they specialise in. A wonderful culinary experience overall, thoroughly recommended.

Absolutely amazing! The food and service were simply excellent! Not to mention the prices!! We ordered 4 little plates and we were pleasantly surprised to receive 5 more complemetary dishes on the house! The owner told us that she had planned 8 complementary dishes for each table but we were so full that we had to stop after the 2nd desert. Our overall price for 4 dishes and 3 glasses of wine was £50....!!!

Came here on a late Monday night for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the sheer quality of the dishes and the hospitality. The cod was done just right, very tender and smooth fillet while the Thai green curry garnish wasn’t too strong. The loin of lamb was on the pink side, which again was perfect served with the sauce and mash. The meat was very tender especially being the loin. The night topped off by their amazing home-made salted caramel ice cream served with their bread and butter pudding, which was very smooth and not icy. All in all, 5 out of 5 for this little family run restaurant nestled within the town of Cowes. Outstanding!

Been here twice now and will certainly be going again. Just enjoyed a fantastic NYE meal. Best restaurant on the island. The black garlic butter is to die for. The home made salted caramel ice cream is staggering.

Nestled in the picturesque village of Godshill, The Old Smithy - Café, Shops and Gardens is a delightful destination that captures the essence of English charm. This quaint spot features a cozy café serving delicious homemade meals and indulgent cream teas, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Visitors can explore unique shops offering an array of gifts and treats, including handmade chocolates that are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth.
FANTASTIC place to visit. Plenty of FREE parking, some great little shops and the Cafe offered really good food which was well priced. We had Sausage and Bacon Baps with Coffee, and the Baps were loaded with premium quality meat. Excellent flavour, great service and to top it all, The Old Smithy is very 'Dog Friendly'. Love the place, been before, will go again, a perfect place to visit, highly recommended

Nice portion size. Quality good. Cheese for the jacket potato was confirmed to be suitable for vegetarians. Friendly staff team. Wait times for food were reasonable. Nice atmosphere in the skylight area. Dog friendly. Toilets clean and ‘ok’.

Just standard beverages. The chocolate cake was disappointing, from the ouside it seemed it had a nice layer of cream but inside it was really thin. Terrible custard slice. It was an omelette. Prices are ok for the place (not really for the quality)

The family at AtlasAdventured highly recommends visiting here! We had been staying in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight for a little over a month before we found this gem! We had spent the day at the Donkey Sanctuary, and afterwards we took the bus to Godshill. It is a very cute and small town, filled with thatch roofed houses. We came across a cute little shop, and were completely floored when we entered. We went into the cute gift shop first. They offer a lot of cute items. Everything would have made the perfect gift for someone! We noticed an open door towards the back of the store and it opened up to this beautiful lush garden. The gentleman working explained we could go walk around. This was one of the highlights of the day! The garden is filled with gnomes, fairies, miniature houses, and glass windows depicting different fairy scenes! There is a fish pond and a little house that has old pictures of the town and explains the history. Everything is so detailed and cute! There was another gift shop out in the middle of the gardens where I bought the most delicious smelling lotion! All of the items for sale are original, decently priced and of great quality. I thought this would be a quick trip into a gift shop, and it ended up being a 2 hour adventure! Beautiful spot to enjoy the day. Unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the cafe, but that just means we’ll have to come back! I highly recommend visiting here if you are in the area. You could easily plan a whole day in the area.

Eyes bigger than our stomachs! The food was outstanding, between 3 of us, we had both a main, dessert and a drink eat, the total came to £45. The service was so good, nothing too much to ask, the food was so tasty and they catered gluten-free for us celiac too. The ambience was very calm and relaxing. They also had a few little shops around which you could pick up the cutest little items either as a gift for someone else or yourself. Also the heritage and history of the area is very quaint and interesting.
Caitin W — Google review
I really wanted to like this place, but the service was awful! I wish I'd looked at the reviews a bit more closely before dragging my family there. The atmosphere is dreary. And my goodness, it was hot and stuffy. Even at 10 am on a cloudy day. The wait for breakfast was absolutely insane. 50 minutes is just beyond reasonable in anyone's estimation. We asked a couple of times as we had plans, which we actually ended up having to cancel. In the time we waited, they served 2 other tables who had 2 people at each. I have no idea how it took so long to cook. The staff didn't care at all. We had one person who needed food for a medical issue, so we grabbed a cake. Which was a mistake as this particular cake was stale and dreadful. It's simply not acceptable, and looking at the reviews, it seems a common problem. I am someone who takes great pride in fair and honest reviews and would never slate business for the sake of it. They need to do better. I dread to think how long a busy morning on a weekend would take. We visited on a Monday morning, not a bank holiday or during school break.
Lisa D — Google review
Been coming here for several years with our little dog, and been quite happy, food is good and staff usually comment on how tiny and lovely he is. However, we were pretty much “ told off” by the young lady who served our food today in regards to our little dog, it spoilt our meal, so sadly we may not return anymore. It costs nothing to be polite and personable.

After reading positive reviews, I visited the PO41 Yarmouth Coffee House and was not disappointed. This establishment embodies a genuine sense of care for its customers. The coffee options are great, with the added bonus of proper tea leaves that impressed even my dad. They offer a variety of milks and also provide dog biscuits, catering to all needs. The cakes are flavorful and reasonably priced.
Gorgeous and generously sized brownie, very rich, goes perfectly with the coffee. I went for the dark roast flat white: You have a choice of two coffees, the dark roast, which is quite mellow, I love it, but if you want something more hearty, ask for an extra shot or go straight to the medium roast, which is likely to come through the milk more strongly. Really friendly and efficient staff. Can get quite busy, but has up to four staff, so queues are very fast.

A lovely little shop which is more than a coffee stand (has indoor seating) but not quite a cafe, as the seating is limited and there is no toilet (4 people looked for one during our brief visit). The staff are very friendly, the coffee is very good and the cakes were delicious. If you love coffee and cake, don't need the loo and don't mind enclosed spaces this place is your cup of tea...or coffee.

Tbh I’ve been here a few times and enjoyed my coffee and food. Went in with a friend recently and told the staff my coffee wasn’t very hot, therefore could it be heated up? Got a very frosty response from the girl making the coffee, questioning my complaint. Only to be told I’d have to go to the back of the queue and wait to have another one made, after a lengthy choice of words from her. The queue was very large. Absolutely no kindness from this girl whatsoever, just accusations. It was very embarrassing. Luckily a lady (could’ve been manageress) was sitting next to me doing computer work and asked me if everything was ok. I explained and she kindly re made my coffee. I understand they do a certain temperature, but my first one was Luke warm. I always big this lovely quaint cafe up but have to say, this one girls whole attitude really changed my experience. It was unkind and uncalled for. When someone is nothing but polite and that was me, the customer? I did not expect this backlash.

After arriving on the Isle of Wight we decided to have a look round the nearest town, which was Yarmouth. Googled dog friendly places and chose this place. Whether you're in the mood for a comforting morning coffee and hearty breakfast or a light yet satisfying lunch, The Blue Door Café has something to satisfy every craving. The food, the presentation, the vibe 🤗 Everything, literally everything was on point from the cafe. The staff were so sweet and welcoming as well. Everything was wonderfully thought through with the taste of the food, every little detail! We are definitely coming back here every time we come Isle of Wight! It was honestly the most delicious breakfast we ever had in our lives! A big shoutout to everyone in the cafe, especially the chef!

Staff were nice, ordered and paid at the till, they then bring it over, so not too difficult 😂 nice enough place, however it is very expensive! Had the thinnest slice of lemon cake and a tea for £6. Lemon cake wasn't lemony at all - had pieces of lemon rind in it which made it a weird texture (still didn't taste like lemon). Edges were quite dry too. I've had slices of bread thicker than the slice of cake I was served today 😂

If you’re looking for a big, freshly made, fruity scone with clotted cream and jam served with a nice fresh pot of tea, then you need to try this place. We almost walked straight past but then we saw the scones and decided to stop and try them. Absolutely delicious! We have tried many scones on the Island but these are one of the best!! Very large, crispy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. Gorgeous! The service was also excellent, very friendly and welcoming and the price was good too. You must stop and give this place a try. We will most definitely be going back.

One customer mentioned that they have frequented the Island on numerous occasions and recently stumbled upon The Salix Beach Cafe, a delightful eatery situated in a stunning location with captivating views of the ocean. It is regarded as the top spot for breakfast, which is available throughout the day.
It is an incredible cafe in Isle of Wight. This is the more famous cafe with a good indoor ambience, friendly staff and an incredible soft spongy soft icing carrot cake. They roast their own beans which are from the Isle of Wight. I found this experience to be very good and suggest any one to visit it. Best place to walk to it is from the hope long stay car park. The walk is 3 minutes from this car park.

I come to the island every year and have done so for the last 4 years, but this is my first visit to the Salix and wow it’s not my last! I have to say this amazing gem gets my vote as the best place to eat on the island (nope not a rosette in sight either thank god lol) not only because of it’s stupendous location but the quality of food is fantastic, and served with lots of love…. The service from the women who clearly love working at this place beats any service I’ve received whilst being a tourist here over the years… well done ladies your pride in your work is clear to see and lovely to experience! Your chef is a diamond! Your range of food and catering for fussy eaters or dietary issues is astonishing and more places should follow your ways! Thank you for giving me the memory of the best brekkie I’ve ever eaten!

Had a great experience today at the Salix cafe being served by Mark. Very chatty and polite , warmed up my meal I bought from home (I have dietary needs) as well as provided me extra sauce and seasonings for the food we ordered from him. Very relaxing environment in the lovely weather and beachfront view , really made me smile with his level of service and kindness. Also the cafe is very clean and well put together , modern decor , great seating arrangement, efficient queing/ordering system didn’t have to wait long for the meal at all. Overall 10s all round.

A fantastic place to visit whatever the time of year it is. I’ve just come back from a long weekend with my 11-year-old and it was so nice to see The Salix open every day that we were there even though it’s out of season. I’ve reviewed this place before after a visit in summer when there’s live music and a real beach vibe and it was excellent then. I have to say that it’s just as enjoyable in the winter months, when you’re inside with the log burner roaring away looking out across the grey sea, it’s very cozy especially when enjoying a nice cup of coffee and a slice of cake. 😊

Call It What You Want is a restaurant located in Cowes, Isle of Wight. It offers American, Cajun & Creole cuisine and is known for its casual vibe. The restaurant provides friendly and attentive service, making it a great place for families to dine. Additionally, the establishment is situated close to transport links to Southampton and the rest of the Isle of Wight.
Lovely to meet Mark today who started this crazy idea of a restaurant without a menu 5yr ago. We had a ferry to catch and he kindly arranged to serve us early just after six. We had a mountain of a plate of creole food - butter milk fried chicken with the crispiest skin, ribs rub and cooked till they fall off the bone, seasoned rice, mince and pork and delicious mushrooms. The only veg was broccoli but I suspect they do vegan if you ask for it. Lovely rare Mexican & Spanish beers and sharing a shot of Shanky's whiskey with Mark completed a lovely and unique evening. And we got to our 8:20pm ferry on time! Will definitely return.

The host was very enjoyable and entertaining. The shop used to be a butchers I've never seen anything like it. There is no menu, and you get what you're given. All different meats stacked high on a hot plate. It looked a mess, but it was the tastiest mess I've had. This was a different experience to have. Great host, great food, great atmosphere 👌 Must go😁👍

Incredible. Booked on a whim last minute as staying in the area and reviews looked good - I can confirm it lived up to/exceeded expectations from the reviews and I will come out of my way from the mainland to visit again in the future!! The host was fab, a really friendly guy with a great sense of humour, and the food was amazing, perfect portion size for us with incredible flavours and an all round 10/10 experience. Thank you SO much :-)
Sophie — Google review
Shared a great meal with our family in this very friendly, atmospheric and cool restaurant set within an old butchers. The menu is crafted based on supreme flavours and food quality, it's not the biggest of menus but for me that counts towards the effort of producing each dish. We sampled most items from the menu from starters to mains. My personal favourite was the chowder, just absolutely delicious!! The portions are more than adequate and we all left full to the brim. Service by the owner is friendly, chilled and welcoming, in keeping with the ambience of the restaurant. The decor is great, featuring original tiles and some old features of the buildings former use. We will definitely be visiting again and many more times after.

Honestly incredible - would totally recommend to anyone visiting the Isle of Wight. Visited with my girlfriend, my sister and her fiancé and advised in advance that we were all vegan. The flavours that they managed to get out of the vegetables was unbelievable, and the broccoli was so, so smoky - seriously impressed. Not only this, but the owner was one hell of a laugh and really made the entire experience top tier. One of those places where the ambience and premise completely reflect the character of the owner. Can't wait to come back.
Nick F — Google review
A fantastic choice for dinner. Fresh, homemade, high quality food in a friendly and relaxed setting. Each booking was given their own personalised service and the host went above and beyond. As vegans it can be very difficult to find dinner options let alone ones we actually enjoy. It was one of the best vegan meals we've eaten out and worth traveling across the island for if you have to. You could tell that the alcohol on offer was very carefully selected and complimented the food and all tastes. A must do on the island.

Quay Arts, located in a set of converted 19th-century brewery warehouses at the head of the River Medina, is a prominent performing arts venue and gallery on the Isle of Wight. The complex features three galleries, a 134-seater theatre named after native Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella, and a popular cafe/bar. The kitchen offers an array of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options prepared by chef Dave Holley.
Quay Arts is the most amazing, unusual and original place. All parts of current exhibition in one of the rooms ( August 2024) are fully interactive. You can yourself make any designs from any parts you choose to pick- wood and wires, huge pieces of wood that fit together like blocks, pieces of fabric that you can stick together and big wooden and fabric items. You can get as creative as you want- great for kids and adults. The idea for that is just fantastic. The cafe is beautifully done and the food is very tasty. The portions are just right. We have spent 2.5h there. There are 3 car parks within 2 minutes walk from the Quay Arts.

First off, this is an amazing venue with such a great vibe. I love what they’ve done to turn it into a true third space for the community. The space can be a bit hit or miss depending on when you visit and what’s on, as it really depends on the art shows and their quality, and the shop can be mixed too. What I really love is that they have extra rooms for community programs, like a “repair it” initiative where people can learn how to fix their own things. That’s absolutely incredible and so needed. I hope they continue to support and promote that service more.

We chose Quay Arts as our wedding venue this Summer and it was absolutely everything we dreamed of and more. The staff were incredible, helping the day run smoothly so we could enjoy our big day together stress free. Del was great every step of the way, letting us know that we were free to have the day run just the way we wanted, and communicated with the vendors which made planning the wedding very easy on our side. The food was amazing and we had many compliments from our guests who had enjoyed both the meal and the buffet in the evening. Overall, just a wonderful experience for us and we're both so thankful to the whole team for making sure the day was special.

The staff at Town Choice Café are friendly and the atmosphere is bright and inviting. The breakfast options are delicious, with well-cooked food like perfectly fried eggs with a runny yolk. Some personal preferences include buttery mushrooms and crispy black pudding. Despite a slightly burnt toast, the overall experience is recommended to friends. Though the price of nearly 8 pounds for a large breakfast may be considered somewhat high, customers would still come back again.

Found this little gem today. Lovely bright and airy cafe. Staff were on point. Had a breakfast and it was OK....... eggs were hard and sausages deep fried. Not the best sausage neither. If they use local coffee, surely a better sausage can be sourced? I'd go again for sure. Will become one of my hot spots :)

I haven't eaten here yet, hence why I've not reviewed the food. However I can safely say their Bailey's hot chocolates are divine!! The service is absolutely faultless. Everyone is friendly, helpful and professional and the prices are decent. The food I've seen going out to customers is always of exceptional quality and is a good size portion. I'll certainly be in to try the food soon!

Nestled in the charming village of Godshill on the Isle of Wight, Cook & Baker is a delightful tearoom and bakery that beckons both locals and travelers. Renowned for its scrumptious homemade cakes, pastries, and freshly baked breads, this cozy spot also serves traditional cream teas that are simply irresistible. The warm ambiance paired with friendly service creates an inviting atmosphere perfect for unwinding with a sweet treat while soaking in the picturesque surroundings.
The food is unreal. It is so delicious, there are no words for it. We loved a unique menu and being able to have something different for breakfast. The cake selection was also amazing and the whole meal was outstanding. The service is also very professional. Check the opening times, as per August 2024 they are open 4 times a week. The parking is 3 min walk away in a village car park. The whole village is wonderful. We did not reserve a table but it was almost full, so it is advisable to book it in advance. The place is kids friendly.

A favourite island spot!! Always wonderful service & the homemade food is just out of this world!!! We enjoyed the soup (cauliflower & wild garlic pesto) and took home a couple of sausage rolls (chicken & pesto) and cakes! (Lemon meringue pie & orange sponge). Everything utterly delicious!!! Iced coffee & tea of the month also amazing!!! Dog friendly & lovely atmosphere.

Went in for lunch on a Monday. We were greeted and seated straight away. The wait for the food once ordered was around 10 minutes. The food itself was delicious. Could not fault it. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a quick light lunch!

Wow! Was recommend to us when we first moved here a few months ago and finally got the chance to try it out today and we’re not disappointed. A lovely setting and service was also exemplary. The menu was excellent and hard to choose what to have but wasn’t disappointed with our choice as it was so nice. The dogs were very well behaved, as usual, and loved it too. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back very soon! Ps, also had an amazing array of cakes!

Our experience was very welcome. The staff were very busy, but had time for us. The food was very tasty and fresh. Very good atmosphere, and cakes are amazing 👏. Can't ask for anything more 😘👍

The only reason for dropping to 4 stars was the way you provided the utensils. Why an unnecessary paper bag to wrap 1 knife, 1 fork and 1 tissue (pic attached)? I doubt customers are so concerned with total hygiene in a village cafe. One more thing, I would love my lemon meringue pie to be a wee bit softer and more tart. Our breakfasts and drinks were excellent. Will be back!! xx

Its a beautiful restaurant with lovely warm staff and the food is to die for , especially the cakes and the pies. The Persian pancakes looked like art on a plate. Definitely must visit in IoW. My only gripe is I can't visit here everyday, as I live in the mainland.

Had a breakfast here and it was quite busy, but we ate outside (dog friendly). The staff were very kind. I had the Korean eggs and it was amazing. I love kimchi but can be picky but this one definitely passed. Everything about the meal was wonderful. My partner had the ruben crumpets and they were soo good as well. The sausage was actually one of my favorite sausages I've had in England. As we left (around 10.40) it had gotten busier (line was outside the building), so keep that in mind or come earlier, but the food is wonderful and unique and definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful cafe to eat with a warm welcome and good, fresh food. Good portion size and fresh baguettes. Good pricing and the tea was hot and tasty. Would recommend this cafe without hesitation. Staff were friendly and kind. Thank you so much. We would love to come back here soon.

The café is in a good location and I'm sure it's great in the summer when you can have a drink in their outdoor seating area. The food is basic but not bad. The service is good, but a little slow - small place with a small number of staff, so to be expected.

This is a cracking little cafe in a lovely location at the beach. Not quite sure how they have such a range of food on the menu in a smallish place but what we had (burgers, sandwiches and steak) was well cooked and generous portions. Lots of stuff on menu seems to be local as well. Cards only, no cash.

Every time we visit the Isle of Wight we always go to the Harbour View Cafe for breakfast or dinner and we go multiple times as it’s such a great place to go. The view is spot on especially when the sun sets, the atmosphere is always calm, the food is always fresh and tasty and last but certainly not least the staff are amazing as they are friendly and very helpful. Briddlesford Lodge Farm dairy, shop and cafe offers simple and bright rooms with locally sourced breakfast on a working family farm. The former milking parlour now houses a farm shop filled with local fruit, vegetables, preserves, chutneys, cheeses, butter and milk straight from the owners' Guernsey herd. The shop also offers beef from nearby farms and ethically produced veal. Bluebells Cafe serves food made with produce from the shop.
We stopped by for breakfast, we were seated and greated quickly, and everything we ordered came out reeasonly fast, and everything was lovely, I had the farmers breakfast, which I struggled to finish.. eyes bigger than belly. Lovely place and would recommend and come back. Plus got to fuss baby cows

Never in my decades of life on God's beautiful earth did think I'd be on the brink of tears because of service in a restaurant but boy did I learn a lesson today. We got there, went to the shop and grabbed a few bits. Due to the amazing reviews decided to try the restaurant as well. There was a queue and we got told we could only be seated outside. Not ideal, given that we were with our baby and it was cold and windy but we said ok. We ordered the food then waited for one hour for it to arrive. In this time people came, sat inside, had their food and left. We were still waiting. My little one was absolutely hysterical because she was hungry and needed to nap. Tried to give her some fruit we got from the farm shop but it's not like a filling meal, she couldn't be settled. Many of the people who came after us said they had no reservations but were seated inside regardless. I don't know how we were left waiting that long and outside on the cold. The food was alright, hence the 2 stars but they were missing the mac and cheese we wanted to try. To be fair, if the food was served to me in London I'd be impressed but on the island there are so many wonderful places that use local fresh produce that this is just completely not worth the hassle. So far our worst experience this holiday. So disappointed.

Came here while out on a drive with my fiancée and it was a lovely gem of a find. The farm shop had a good variety of items and produce and had lovely staff. The cafe looked lovely however we didn't go in, seeing as we had just eaten. It also had an area to pet baby calfs and go on farm tours. I'd very much recommend taking a little trip to this gem of a place.

Lovely farm shop. Plenty of parking. Full of local produce including their own milk and cheese, IOW tomatoes, beer, Adgestone vineyard wines, bread, butchery and greetings cards with their own dairy cows on. Lovely friendly staff who are happy to chat. Outdoor seating and a coffee shop complete this lovely place.

Visited for the first time today after coming across Briddlesford on Google. Decided to pop into the cafe and we ended up having cooked breakfasts. What can I say, one of the very best breakfasts we've had! Food was such good quality, perfectly cooked and piping hot. Staff where friendly in the cafe and farm shop. Will most definitely be visiting again when over on the island again.

Lovely dairy farm with amazing milk, cheese, and meats, plus local fruit and veg. My son loved to watch the cows get milked (3:30pm to 5pm) and to see some baby cows up close near the cafe. Highly recommend a visit!

Free entrance and free car park inside The animals look happy and well treated, very friendly and lovely There is a museum inside which shows antique farm pieces/tools, equipment, photos and information about the past The shop has loads of variety (vegetables, fruits, meat, cookies, cheese, etc) and the prices are fair, the staff was very welcoming. The restaurant / coffee shop serves delicious food and drinks! Thank you everyone 😋

Nestled in the charming coastal town of Yarmouth, Grace's Bakery is a delightful gem that shouldn't be overlooked. While it may not be a traditional café, its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make it an ideal spot to grab a freshly baked pastry or doughnut paired with a takeaway cup of Island Roasted Coffee. Picture yourself savoring these treats while watching boats glide by on the harbor—pure bliss!
We ordered some sandwich platters, pastries and doughnuts for a family party. From the initial service from Hannah to delivery, everything was perfect. The food was exceptional; very fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. Everyone loved it. We would not hesitate to use you again for a similar event.

Grace’s Bakery is absolutely amazing! The team provides top-notch service and truly go above and beyond for their customers. I had a special request, and they went out of their way to make it perfect, nothing was too much trouble. Everything they make is delicious, and easily the tastiest sweet treats I’ve ever had. They also have options for several dietary requirements (we needed vegan and lactose free treats and they had both!!) Highly recommend to anyone who loves great service and incredible baked goods! 🍰🥐

I personally would give Grace's bakery a wide berth. I come from London, so I'm used to overpriced, but this bakery chain, are charging near London prices on an island! The smallest rolls I've ever seen for £3.55. No good for a family of 4. Coop has a far better meal deal option for a sandwich, crisps and drink for £3.50. 💰

One of the big reasons for travelling to the Isle of Wight for my family and I, we usually go straight off the ferry! Their food is delicious, the doughnuts are like the ones I remember from my childhood (long time ago!). Such a lovely treat but difficult to choose what to go for. The people who run Grace's are absolute treasures, such kind and friendly staff. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Grace's.

I visited the establishment in Ryde today with my sister. When we entered the premises we asked if it would be ok to come in and sit to have a coffee with our cakes we wanted. We were told this was fine. We ordered coffee and our cakes. Both cakes (doughnut and apple turnover) were stale, I was unable to eat even half of the apple turnover. After finishing our coffee we were just sat for a few minutes chatting and were told that the shop would be closing in 10mins. I asked if it was possible to use the toilet and was told there was no toilet available. I felt physically sick for sometime after eating part of the apple turnover so it was definitely not in a fit state to be sold. Why were we not given the option or told that the premises would be closing shortly when we arrived and asked about having a drink inside, why isn’t there a toilet available for clients? Have tried to contact you on your webpage contact facility as would rather not have left a bad review however this does not work so I was unable to contact you in this way.

Was okay… so out of date and how we have to wear the shoes. (We are on mainland and that doesn’t happen up here), the lanes were temper mental at best, having to ask 3 times for them to be fixed or reset. Boys enjoyed which is the main thing. Something to do when the weather is terrible or cold.

This was my first visit to this bowling venue, and I was genuinely looking forward to the experience. However, I was quite disappointed with the way we were treated by some of the staff members. As a first-time visitor, I had hoped for a welcoming atmosphere, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. When I approached one of the team members with a basic question(guy with a long hair), I was told it was their first day — which is understandable — but even so, I believe there should be a basic level of training to help new staff assist guests with simple queries. What was more concerning was that this same staff member seemed to make a comment about us to a nearby group of customers, which felt quite inappropriate and unprofessional. Throughout our visit, we noticed that whenever we asked anything, some staff made uncomfortable facial expressions, which made us feel unwelcome. As visitors who are not white, the experience unfortunately came across as biased and unfriendly. I sincerely hope this feedback is taken constructively, as every guest deserves to feel respected and comfortable, regardless of their background.

Old Thatch Teashop is a charming tearoom located in the old part of Shanklin, Isle of Wight. Housed in a Grade 2 Listed thatched cottage, it offers homemade traditional cakes, clotted cream teas, and a variety of specialty teas and coffees. The tearoom's themed fairy garden adds to its allure, with mature plants providing privacy for patrons enjoying their treats. Visitors can also explore the surrounding area with its picturesque thatched roofed cottages.
First of all , what a fab tea rooms , the best I have seen on the island so far including pubs as well. This little tea rooms has great parking just up the road from the public car park and is situated next to a Christmas shop and next to the Shaklin Chine waterfalls entrance. I and my family were greeted by one of the owners Pat , such a friendly and welcoming greeting , we had a pushchair and due to the nature of the old building it’s not possible at the minute to have a disabled access , but it was only a few steps down and easy with a pushchair . We decided to eat in the wonderful fairy garden that was packet with fairy’s and little cottages. We were seated comfortable with space for the pushchair and the dog . Our menus were brought out quickly and the ladies serving were great with all our children especially our 2 year old son who she was so sweet to. A great selection of afternoon teas, kids menu , jacket potato’s , sandwiches , pancake stacks, toasted tea cakes , coffees , ploughman’s , soup , cakes and Quiches . All looked delicious and almost everything is hand made. We choose prawn salad , I had a jacket with cheese and beans and was please it came hot ( a lot places I eat it is luke warm). Tina mayo sandwiches , cappuccino and j had a massive frothy milkshake with cream and fairy sprinkles . The atmosphere in the garden is magical and we felt well looked after, the food came quickly and was delicious , I took our 2 year old son around the garden and found some trees with memorial hearts on them with messages of missing lives ones that had passed . I checked with one of the owners about whether I could do a memorial myself as it was our sons anniversary of this and she said we could and it was £4 donation to a children’s charity in memorial of a little girls who had died from cancer , I thought was fitting and she reassured me that the memorials would always be there even if the weather damaged them they would fix them and put them back up , this was so nice of her . This place has such a nice feeling and the staff are so friendly , child and dog friendly , I would defiantly recommend booking here , it was so friendly and love owners who love there work and do over and beyond to make sure you have a great meal/ afternoon tea. 5 star definitely a must visit if you come to Shanklin

Amazing cream tea with the most delicious buttery scones. Service was amazing, everyone was so lovely and kind and they had the cutest little chihuahua. The staff were very accommodating as we arrived only 10 minutes before close but they were very friendly and let us stay half an hour after close so we had enough time to eat and look around at the stunning interiors, including a beautiful wall of paper butterflies to show how much money they had raised for charity. They also had a lovely fairy garden with amazing fairy statues and fountain. Overall 11/10 experience I wish I could give it more than 5 stars because it really deserves it.
Elliot R — Google review
A wonderful gem in the heart of Shanklin's old village. The rooms are beautifully themed and decorated with thoughtful touches. The outdoor, mad hatter's themed garden is a real joy to explore and is a lovely, quirky addition to the indoor tea room. The staff are friendly and accommodated our deviations from the menu. I would recommend booking as this is a popular attraction for tourists and locals. The menu offered a fantastic range with milk alternatives included. The scones were freshly baked and were served still slightly warm. A quintessential, English afternoon tea for all to enjoy.

The Isle of Wight Pearl is a tourist attraction on the Isle of Wight, Hampshire, England. It is home to the largest and most valuable collection of pearls in the world. The museum explains the history and culture of pearling, and features exhibits on every stage of pearl production from shells to jewellery. There is also a chocolate shop and cafe on site.
A lovely cafe. Amazing carrot cake! The views are spectacular even on a dull day. It's such a shame the cliff is eroding at the rate it is, as the building is not as far away from the edge as it used to be. The pearl jewellery is beautiful. Some lovely gifts to be discovered.
Tracy G — Google review
Isle of Wight Pearl is interesting to visit, especially to see the history and learn more about how pearls are cultivated – that part is really nice and worth a look. The displays are well presented and it’s a unique experience. However, the atmosphere did feel a bit cold when we visited. Some of the staff came across as abrupt and a little stuck up, and it took quite a while to get help or be served, which did let the experience down. Overall, it’s worth a visit if you’re interested in pearls and their history, but the customer service could definitely be warmer and more welcoming.

We only stopped by for coffee & a cake ( the scone come out still warm was delicious ) but we have had previous breakfast here and it was scrummy ! Massive portions! The lady who served us was very helpful and wasn’t at all fazed about me asking for the allergen menu :) went out of her own way to make sure we was happy , while multi tasking the rest of the cafe ☕️

What a gem this place is! My partner and I both said the full English here was the best we’ve ever had and we’ve had a lot to compare it to! The staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely building, clean toilets, plenty of parking with a farm shop. Would definitely go back.

Got there as they opened for breakfast having left London at about 5.30am so we were definitely up for a good breakfast . Super friendly, proactive staff who were chatty and welcoming. The cafe soon filled up. Quality of produce used for their breakfast was really good, all tasted so good - I believe the sausages are their own from the butcher in the farm shop). My only comment was that the tomatoes needed a bit more cooking and the butter could have been a bit softer (so cold it was hard to butter the toast), but otherwise all delicious. Coffee deserves a mention too. We returned before we left and visited the really well stocked farm shop where we stocked up on chutney, milk, butter, bacon and Isle of Wight tomatoes. We arrived at lunchtime and the cafe was full so if you are planning lunch I would strongly recommend booking. There is ample free parking onsite.

We came across this cafe while visiting one of the animal sanctuaries on the island and it was our place to go for lunch if we were close by. The food was well presented and very tasty and our granddaughter obviously enjoyed her toasted sandwiches as she devoured them. Our grandson thought the mac and cheese was the best he had and the sausage baps were delicious. As well as visiting the cafe and farm shop our daughter and grandchildren took part in a tour of the farm on Welly Wednesday, where they were told how a working farm operates.
Valerie G — Google review
Pretty expensive, relative to the quality: sausages were too lean, making them dry. And I really struggled to digest paying more than £4 for a small bottle of mediocre orange juice. We were three people and I ended up paying £65. Place is quite nice though, and staff and service were OK.

Blueberrys Cafe is a charming spot perched on the cliffs of Shanklin, offering breathtaking views of the sea and Culver Down. It's known for its freshly made cakes, delicious coffee, and friendly service. Whether you're in for a quick pick-me-up or to savor a slice of cake, this cafe provides a perfect blend of good food and beautiful scenery. Visitors have praised the slightly crisp paninis, scrumptious savory cream tea, and fantastic cakes.
This place was randomly 2 mins from my AirBNB in Shanklin. What a treat it was! Cracking breakfast and the views were elite. Plus the breakfast was amazing! It’s so good I mentioned it twice!

Always love coming here, nice people, good food, great views, I only popped in for an ice cream this time but will be back for Cake.

Spent a year on the island and ate so much gluten free cake here. It's absolutely the best, softest and tastiest gluten free cake around. Highly recommend the chocolate fudge, vanilla latte and choco vanilla. Claire and Liam have been very friendly and helpful during a tough time. Highly recommend giving them a visit! Check out their Instagram page too, it shows which cakes Claire has made that day. We have ordered cakes for special occasions too, very reasonably priced and well worth it. Wonderful staff, they're so welcoming, will miss you all, Thank you 💖🎂

Had a lovely breakfast here, overlooking the sea. Food was tasty, but the best experience for us was the super friendly and helpful service. Felt relaxed and unrushed. Could be worth booking at busy times. But definitely recommend.

Great little cafe on the coastal path. Friendly staff serving a great English breakfast, with toast and coffee. A lot of outdoor seating so make sure the weather forecast is good. Great views

Such a welcoming and friendly cafe in a beautiful spot. Food is reasonably priced and delicious. Nothing is too much trouble. We arrived for breakfast on a busy, sunny morning, having not booked. The staff still worked hard to accommodate us and even managed to move us outside when a spot became available. Highly recommend.

We popped in for breakfast and were blown away — the full English was out of this world! Generous portions, perfectly cooked, and piping hot. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and to top it off, the place is dog friendly, which is always a huge plus for us. We sat inside and loved soaking up the atmosphere — the banter between the owner and the regulars was pure gold — such a warm, lively atmosphere that really added to the experience. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to become a regular yourself! They also had a lovely selection of cakes on display, but we were way too full after breakfast to try any — which is a real shame. Just means we’ll have to come back again soon!

The ambiance transports you back in time, reminiscent of a bygone era, making it an ideal place to relax with friends or family.
We had an afternoon tea today. I can honestly say it's one of the best ones we've had on the Island (and we have tried a lot!!) Very reasonable price, absolutely delicious cakes and sandwiches and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Can't recommend enough!

This ice cream spot is very cute and was a nice stop. They do serve food and tea but we just had the ice cream (they were out of some of the flavors though). The workers were nice, and they did have dog ice cream too. We enjoyed the visit and the flavors of ice cream were good.

If you are looking for a good bite to eat outside, it’s perfect! The service was lacking slightly as we found a table and found how to order. The food itself was pretty decent but for the price, it was a bit off the mark. For almost £20, I would expect a bit better with a bap than the side salad and tortilla chips. Milkshakes were amazing and it was a nice place to go generally!
Cameron R — Google review
Whilst visiting Godshill we went here for lunch. Lovely gardens and nice seating outside. Inside it was a bit more old fashioned cafe style. We helped ourselves to a menu and found an empty table. To order you have to go to the ordering hatch. The lady was a bit robotic and had no personality. The food seemed quite expensive for the place. I asked about sauces and she directed me to a dummy waiter inside. On the plus side there was a large variety of suces but on the down side it was all small sachets. The drinks came quite quickly served by a young lady. One of the glasses was actually plastic. The food was served by a young man. I think all the serving staff were very young probably in thirr first job, but they were all fine. The food was not very good. Baguettes were very simple. We ordered a sausage baguette and a chicken mayo baguette. Mine had no butter and the sausages were really really cheap. The chicken tasted liked boiled chicken. I can only sum it up with cafe quality food at restaurant prices. I felt £31 was far too much. Your paying for the location. We wanted jacket potatoes but not at these prices. Sorry but I won't try here again.

Overall good experience here, food was nice afternoon tea was lovely. Great seating indoors and out. Had gluten free options as advised but please check with staff before sitting down. I asked for gluten and diary Allergy books when we got there decided on what to get my son when I went to order they had no gluten free bread. Not many other things on kids menu that were both gluten and diary free. They did offer me a gluten free baguette from normal menu but wasn’t paying £10 plus for my son who’s only 3 not to eat much of it. Just thought they could of told me when I asked for the books. Would still go back but would check gluten free options before getting all family sat down.

Betsy & Spinkys is a charming restaurant located in Ventnor Bay, offering a delightful dining experience. The stylishly restored Italianate mansion provides an elegant setting to enjoy a refined meal. The menu features island specialties such as crab on chips, prepared with just-picked white crab meat and accompanied by a variety of exquisite dishes. Additionally, the restaurant boasts an extensive wine selection from their Wine Room, where prices are handwritten on brown paper tags hanging from bottle necks.
Scrumptious & Memorable! Where do I even start? From the moment I walked in, everything was a delight—from the warm atmosphere and friendly staff to the delicate, unforgettable taste of the Eggs Benedict. What a wonderful place to enjoy a coffee (in my case, a rich and enchanting cappuccino) or a lovely lunch. I asked the owner for a brunch/lunch recommendation that would truly elevate the taste buds. Without hesitation, he suggested the Eggs Benedict with salmon, a side of crispy hash browns, and freshly smashed avocado—and wow, it did not disappoint! My cappuccino arrived quickly and was deliciously rich. About 15 minutes later, the main course came out looking absolutely mouthwatering. It was beautifully presented, explained kindly by the waitress, and ready to be devoured. The eggs and salmon on the fresh bun were bursting with flavor and truly uplifted my palate. The hash browns were perfectly crisp and flavorful, and the smashed avocado was incredibly fresh—a real standout on the plate! After the meal, I felt warm, full, and completely satisfied. I highly recommend this place—excellent hospitality, incredible food, and a vibe that just feels good. It’s safe to say I’ll definitely be back!

A beautiful breakfast from Betsy and Spinkys, I had the Ventnor Bay Breakfast and it was great! So much food and at a great quality! To top it off you have a beautiful view of the ocean!

Excellent quality produce, cooked expertly and served with a smile. My only criticism is that the breakfast is so good I don't get around to trying the other (equally good) things on the menu often enough. Great location and definitely one to visit.

Saw the good reviews on this place and we decided to have breakfast there before we headed home after our IOW trip. They were busy but they fit us in at the front and from my seat, the view was stunning. Coffees amazing and the food is high quality & very reasonably priced. I had the omelette (feta and cherry tomato) and it was the best omelette I have ever had! My partner had the breakfast which he enjoyed. The staff are lovely & welcoming. It's not the biggest venue so I would recommend booking a table, which I will do next time!

An absolutely awesome place to eat and have a drink. It is one of the most well-run, high quality cafes / bistros I've been to. The decor is is really contemporary and the menu is really varied. This is the first place I ate “out” after receiving a celiac diagnosis. I was delighted to be able to eat cake and pretty much everything off the menu. It’s such a relief when a place identifies themselves as gluten free because you feel safe in the knowledge that they understand cross contamination! It’s not just about the ingredients in the food. Absolutely highly recommend!

I cannot thank Jo and team enough! Due to our situation changing we needed to find breakfast for 12 of us (9 of us gluten and dairy free and 3 crazy kids!) so a bit of a stress. I called 9.30am and asked if they had space for us for 10/10.30am and they were so accommodating! Straight away said yeah but may have to be on split tables which was absolutely fine for us and when we got there, they were so welcoming. The food was phenomenal with big portions! And atmosphere was great with a lovely view. Honestly one to put on the list to visit if you ever go isle of wight!

Located on the Isle of Wight in Ventnor, The Seapot is a charming seaside cafe with stunning views and delicious food. The cafe offers a variety of seafood platters, cakes, and ice cream from April to October. Visitors can enjoy the serene view of the ocean while savoring their meals. The location also features interesting historical tidbits such as Victorian celebrity Tennyson's visit to the village.
We love to discover quaint little hidden places with delicious food and magnificent views, so I am glad to say that The Seapot ticks all the boxes. Granted, my old knees got quite a lot of work out down the fairly steep stairs on the way from the parking lot to the beach, but it was all worth it. We were lucky to get a small booth, which sheltered us from the breeze and sun. The service was pleasant, the wine, cool and crisp, and the food absolutely delicious and very pleasing to the eye. Highly recommend stopping by.

Great location for a refreshing drink on a beautiful walk to monks bay! Unfortunately the sea mist rolled in but still warm! On a clear sunny day the views are incredible. Colwell Captains Cabin Cafe is a delightful spot in the Isle of Wight known for its traditional fish and chips, representing the island's famous food. Located in The Bay Colwell, it offers mouthwatering dishes such as whole grilled Cornish sardines, wild boar meatballs, linguine with South Coast clams, and seafood platters to share.
This is a great beach cafe, which offers plenty of seating indoors and out on the many terraces. You can also enjoy the takeaway menu or an ice cream whilst sitting on the sea wall or beach. The Captains Cabin is open from Easter to the end of October. The management and staff ensure the environment and food are delivered to a very high standard. It has an all-day comprehensive menu. The licenced cafe is very popular with both locals as holiday makers... at the height of the season, the cafe can get really busy, so be prepared to queue. However, once your order is placed and paid for, you can sit back relaxed as there is full table service and enjoy the beauty of Colwell Beach. The Longbeach bar: is also owned by the family; it is situated above and behind the cafeteria...the bar offers the same stunning views of the sea, beach, and the mainland. There is plenty of seating for everyone; a family games room and both venues are dog friendly. There is a range of hot or cold drinks both veues have a alcohol licences. The Captains Cabin is open from 9am to 4.30 pm, and the Longbeach bar is open from 4pm to 10pm. Both are reasonably priced and have helpful and family-friendly staff. There is a council car park across the road, puplic toilets and two beachside shops, selling everything you need for a beach holiday... ice creams, swimwear, sunhats, and the list goes on.

Lovely location overlooking the beach and bay with Hurst Castle in the distance. The cafe is on 3 levels with plenty of outside patio seating as well as an indoor area. The food is served very quickly and is all freshly produced. The ploughman's was large and had some variety, my only thought is that it would be nice to have a brown or crusty bread option. The tuna Mayo portion was generous and the potato well baked and fluffy. Food range is fairly classic breakfast options plus salads and similar. Also a cake selection and also locally made ice cream

Excellent and very friendly service and this was before our little person knocked the table and sent our tea flying. The guys here were so nice and all came rushing out of the Cabin to help and replaced our tea and coffee without charge. Highly recommend, we'll return, if we are allowed !!

Colwell is my favourite beach on the island and I try to spend as much of summer there as possible, so I've had a lot of ice cream from here! Between this place and the one opposite, there isn't a lot in it. I'd say it purely comes down to what flavour you're looking for. They do sell hot and cold food as well, I believe my partner had a pastry of some sort from here and it was nice. But I have not yet tried any hot food. Don’t know about the food. We only went in because we spotted someone having a coffee while sat on the outside tables and it looked really nice. So we went in just for a coffee. The best cup of coffee we’ve had all week and we’ve had a few this week. The interior decor is amazing. The food we saw looked amazing. Apparently, according to the manager/ owner(?), this was Queen Victorias favourite shoe shop. Hence the shoe related paraphernalia on display. Well worth at least popping in for a coffee.

The old location had received positive reviews, which made me eager to try their famous 'Breakfast Bonanza'. The food was well-cooked and delicious, definitely worth the wait. We promptly left and are now sitting across the road in the lunchbox cafe with super service and a fresh cooked brekkie . Bit of a shame
