Ice cream shop
If you're on the hunt for a unique ice cream experience, "Wow Emotional Food" might just pique your interest. This charming shop boasts a clean and inviting atmosphere while promoting zero waste practices. Guests can indulge in generous scoops of ice cream served in waffle bowls with delightful biscuit spoons, offering various flavor options to customize your treat.
After seeing all the reviews for the place, we were excited to try their ice cream. Sadly, we didn’t feel the same way as others. This doesn’t mean the ice cream was bad it just didn’t match the name of the shop. It just lacked the wow. The waffle cone and edible spoon wasn’t something to be desired and the ice cream lacked creaminess.
Jermaine B — Google review
Amazing! 100% gluten free Gelato. Coeliac friendly! No risk of cross contamination. Gluten free cones and wafers. Was so pleased everything is completely gf and super yummy! Plenty of lactose free and vegan options available. Will definitely be back again.
Hannah J — Google review
The best ice cream we’ve ever had Let me start with the staff, who speaks great English, super friendly and gladly explained everything to us. I am gluten and lactose intolerant and have chocolate, nuts and a bunch of other allergies. This place to me was like heaven. The ice cream so good that it’s hard to describe. Not only to usual lactose free or vegan flavors like Mango or Strawberry, but Coconut, Amarena, Melon, lactose free Vanilla and Yoghurt, Fiore Di Latte, Lemon cream, and I could carry on with the list. Best gluten free cones that I ever tasted too!! and the prices are more than fair… I had a Coconut-Amarena-Melon cup but had to go back to get a double scoop Lemon cream because it was simply the best ice cream I have ever had in my entire life. And not just in my opinion. My fiancé who doesn’t have any allergies said the exact same thing. I just don’t know how other places cannot understand just because you are allergic or intolerant you would still like to eat amazing food! Thank you for the sweetest most delicious experience we had during our 2-week-stay in Italy! We will be back for more! ❤️🍨 Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing gelato! Must try the pear and melon flavours. Their waffle cones are made in-store and also promote zero waste with edible gelato spoons!
Lisa X — Google review
Super granita (slush) and gelato! Some of the best we had in our nearly 2 weeks in Italy! All natural. Tastes like the real fruit but better.
Daniel M — Google review
Excellent gelato. Creamy as it should be. Way better than anything else down the street.
Christian T — Google review
Really clean and good looking shop, zero waste ice cream. For 3€ we got a really big scoop of ice cream, inside a waffle bowl and a spoon out of biscuit. He gives u options to choose for different tastes in wafflebowl and spoon. It tasted delicious and the worker was really nice. Would recommend it to everyone!

Different kinds of bakery products from croissants, quiche type items, busy most importantly the focaccia, which is to die for. The olive oil they use is delicious. Best part is the service is so warm and friendly, even though my Italian was not very good the women behind the counter made me feel so welcome!

When visiting Via Domenico Chiodo, 85, Gelateria La Dolce Vita is a must-visit. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere instantly makes you feel at home. The staff is friendly and accommodating, even offering gluten and peanut-free options. Despite its affordable prices, the gelateria offers excellent quality gelato. Visitors recommend trying flavors like nocciola and pan de stelle in a good quality cone for an affordable price.
Affordable with lots of flavors to choose from. Tiramisu + cheesecake combo is a win! Mango not so much. Place is across the public park. There are a couple of benches outside the store.
Lyka A — Google review
Arguably the best gelato we've had yet in Italy. Great flavor and texture. I had fondente and carmello salato, my wife had dolce vita(vanilla and nuts) and stracciatella. Both ours were fantastic!
Tom — Google review
After a long evening enjoyed in La Spezia we stopped off here to grab late night ice cream. This little place was quite popular and they had a wonderful selection of ice cream to choose from. We ordered from the friendly, busy lady at the counter and then ate our ice cream at one of the park benches just outside under the arches. All good!

Absolutely the best ice-cream I have ever had in my life. It has ruined all other ice-creams for me. I could move to Lá Spezia just for this place. If you're in town, do not miss the opportunity to give yourself this dream of a treat! The lady that attended us was super friendly and receptive.

Pastry Cafe Dolci Magie in La Spezia is a lovely dessert shop located in the central area. It offers a wide variety of desserts and cakes, along with a selection of nice tea and coffee. The cafe is known for its afternoon tea package, which includes 5 mini pastries and a drink at a reasonable price. Visitors praise the freshness and uniqueness of the pastries, cakes, and other products offered here.
A sleek, modern pasticceria that immediately impresses with its stunning pastry mignon display-rows of vibrant, artful bites that pull you in at the door. I tried the Rum Baba, Tiramisu, Strawberry Cheesecake, and a breathtaking Panna Cotta with Raspberry Confit-I could've eaten a dozen of that one alone. The Zeppole di San Giuseppe was phenomenal: crisp shell, rich cream, and just the right touch of sweetness. Every detail here feels intentional and refined. An essential stop for pastry lovers in La Spezia.

A very special and nice discovery during our foodie stay in Spezia. Good coffee, and great baci di dama, small delicious italian tarts : tortina della nonna. The street foodies would definitely go back there !!
The F — Google review
Pastry Cafe Dolci Magie in La Spezia was a delightful discovery, made even sweeter thanks to the lovely apartment we were staying at, which gifted us vouchers for croissants 🥐 and coffee, or orange juice. What a brilliant way to start the day! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was inviting, the display cabinets were filled with exquisite pastries, and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee was simply irresistible. Our croissants were buttery, golden, and perfectly flaky—hands down some of the best we’ve had in Italy. Paired with a smooth, creamy cappuccino, it was the kind of breakfast that makes you stop and savour every bite. We couldn’t resist trying more from their selection, and we’re so glad we did—the tiramisu was luscious and well-balanced, and their delicate pastry horns (cannoncini) were filled with silky custard and just the right amount of sweetness. What made the experience truly special was the warm, genuine service. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. Whether you’re sitting inside or enjoying the outdoor tables with a view of the charming La Spezia street life, there’s a relaxed, joyful vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. Thanks to our apartment’s thoughtful gesture, we got to experience a local treasure—and we would return in a heartbeat. Dolci Magie is not just a café; it’s a little moment of magic.
Richard T — Google review
Great croissants (we tried pistachio, crema, nutella) and good coffee. Friendly service. Yet strange 20% extra charge to eat by the table, added on top of the bill.
Pawel K — Google review
Pastry Café Dolci Magie is a hidden gem in La Spezia! The Nutella and jelly-filled croissants were soft, flaky, and bursting with flavor, while the lemon meringue pastry was perfectly sweet and tangy. I didn’t get photos—I was on the go—but the treats were so good, I still can’t stop thinking about them! Mouth watering and delightful pastries.
Fred S — Google review
Tons of pastry to enjoy with a cup of cappuccino. I tried the cornetto with jam and it was amazing. Its a great way to start the day.

I tried the croissant a la nocciola and it was amaaaazing. Crunchy, tasty and buttery. They have other flavors as well. The espresso was good but for my taste could be better.

The gelato was good but the Italian cream canoli was what hit the spot. Fantastic! Very friendly and a great stop off between the port and train station.

Possibly the best gelato that I've ever had. I selected a scoop of tiramisu gelato and it was just full of flavour. It was geniunely like eating the real thing. You also get some "toppings" of your selected flavour inside the gelato ie. in my case the biscuits.

Fantastic ice cream with rich flavour. Whilst the service from the young lady was lacking, the choice of ice cream avalible made up for it

Pasticceria Fiorini is a charming spot with a pleasant ambiance and attentive service. While there's no wifi, the delightful coffee and pastries more than make up for it. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and their apple pie and pistachio treats are simply irresistible. It's the perfect place to kick off your day with a delectable pastry and cappuccino. Indulge in their array of traditional sweets and biscuits for an authentic culinary experience.
Have been traveling in Europe for a couple of days to promote my custom made titanium bicycles. Like many cyclist, we like to have a good coffee and a small pastry to kick start the morning. This Pasticceria was conveniently located near my hotel, stopping before heading to the mountains or Cinque Terra would not be disappointing. Caffe was very good, and the pastries were delicious, plus the customer service is exactly what I would expect in an authentic Italian pasticceria. Fast, professional and friendly. Thank you! We order a cup of coffee cappuccino (it is awful, more milk than coffee) and an orange juice witch was small quantity in a normal glass (cost 3.5 euro) that's shameful and the service was bad 👎 don't recommend see the glas of orange juice in the photo

Most staff were fine but there is a tall lady behind the counter who is extremely rude, shouted to 'pay now' before we had even finished ordering and scowled when asked where the toilets were. Would not recommend.

Definitely worthy to come and eat place!! The best farinata ever, so juicy tasty, almost like scrambled eggs. No addition needed as it was so good! Amazing focaccia, super crispy outside and soft inside. Wide range of flavours, you can even ask for your filling. I created mine: pesto, ham and stracchino cheese (delicious!). I came here on a rainy day and ordered three foccacia with my terrible Italian skills . The ladies behind the counter were so helpful, friendly and taught me how to pronounce each one, and spoke some English to help me along the way. The food was beautiful, so perfectly cooked and delicious. Priced very well too, 8 euros for 3 foccacia and some sweet breads. Such a warm and welcoming environment.

We've been here during our vacation in La Spezia and had the opportunity to taste both salty and sweet products All great, some very unusual ( as an example focaccia with mussels and focaccia with pine nuts and walnuts) Done with love, you can feel it, and the lady at the desk is super kind. Also very reasonably priced. Don't miss this place.

One of the best bakeries we visited on our entire Italy trip. Everything was absolutely delicious. The pine nut and raisin foccacia was one of the best things I have ever tasted. Super quick and easy walk from the train station as well.

This is a really nice Cafe and ice-cream shop, they have a nice amount of cake's, ice-cream choices a lot of them original and drinks. It's really beautiful inside and outside, I was walking from train station to this place to get an ice-cream but it worth the effort. Tasty, presentable, good price, a lot of locals there that is a good sign.

🍰 A Cozy Café with Gelato Inside – Delicious, Friendly, and Absolutely Worth Visiting ☕🍦 This café was such a lovely surprise! Tucked away in a cozy corner, it combines the charm of a local coffee shop with the delight of having fresh gelato served right inside the café. The atmosphere, flavors, and service all came together to create a truly memorable experience. 🍨 Food & Dessert Highlights: • I had a slice of cheesecake, and it was simply outstanding – creamy, light, and flavorful with just the right sweetness. It was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had in a while. • The gelato, which is available right inside the café, was absolutely perfect. I tried one scoop and immediately wished I had ordered more. Smooth, rich in flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients – it elevated the whole dessert experience. • The hot chocolate was another standout – thick, smooth, and rich with real chocolate flavor, not just cocoa powder. A warm, comforting treat that paired beautifully with the cake and gelato. ☕ Coffee: Their coffee is top-notch. Well-brewed, full-bodied, and served just right. Whether you’re into cappuccino, espresso, or latte – they’ve got you covered. 👛 Price: The prices here are very reasonable and budget-friendly, especially for the quality you get. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a full dessert and coffee experience without overspending. 🤝 Service: The staff were genuinely friendly and enthusiastic. They made great recommendations, smiled often, and made the entire experience feel warm and personal. You can tell they care about both the food and the people they serve. 🌿 Atmosphere: The café itself is small but cozy and beautifully decorated. It’s a relaxing place to unwind, read a book, chat with friends, or just enjoy a quiet moment with a great dessert. ✅ Final Thoughts: This café is a hidden gem that deserves more attention. Whether you’re stopping by for a cup of coffee or treating yourself to a slice of cake and a scoop of gelato, you’ll leave satisfied and happy. I highly recommend visiting at least once – you won’t regret it!

We were the last customers of the day but the staff was so kind and friendly. Gave us a nice discount for the gelatos which we're amazingly good. Pistachio with lemon was wonderful and violet tasted like flowers.

A nice icecream shop with lot of delicious icecream choices! They also have yogurt, sweets and snacks. A nice place to have breakfast or relax! And to not miss, their cakes! On occasion, we buy from them and never get tired because they are just delicious!

I was on my way to catch a train and was looking for a place to have a morning coffee. Being coeliac, I was really surprised when I was told they have plenty of gluten-free options. I went back the following day to try more products! Definitely recommend it.

Bakery Rizzoli Marcello, situated at Via Fiume, 108 in La Spezia, is a historic bakery known for its delectable focaccia. The small shop exudes an old-world charm that takes visitors back to simpler times. The triangular focaccia is a local classic and highly recommended. Visitors have praised the warm hospitality of the owners and their willingness to assist despite language barriers.
We were so lucky to stumble upon this bakery on our way to another eatery. The kindest owners welcomed us like we were family. They offered some bread to our little one and took their time to help us out. Their traditional triangular focaccia was delicious, I got a warm and a bit crispier bite and I loved it. The focaccia with local olives was also very very good. We also treated ourselves to a delicious shortbread cookie with jam! Located a couple of hundred meters away from central station, cash only (luckily there is an ATM down the street!)

(Translated by Google) It's my favorite focacceria in La Spezia! I've always been going there since I was little to buy focaccia and as well as being delicious it also has a more than reasonable price, rather than getting it at the seaside where it costs twice as much, I prefer to stop here and take it with me! It doesn't have a huge assortment of focaccia types but still very varied and satisfying (better quality than quantity ;)) My favorite is the onion one and the focaccia triangles are top! I also recommend the cereal crush also because it keeps longer! A few days ago I bought plenty of focaccia for 7/8 people and we spent around €24, that is, less than €4 each!

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable gelato experience, look no further than Lo Scrigno di Giada. Nestled just outside the bustling city center, this gem offers a delightful array of flavors that are both authentic and rich in taste. The pistachio flavor is a must-try, alongside their creative options like ricotta and figs. With prices that won't break the bank—just 1.80 for two scoops—you can indulge without guilt!
Very good ice cream. Especially the pistaccio is such a dream :-) What I really liked: They have a list of problematic ingredients such as Lactose, Nuts, Egg. Each flavor has a sign which of these ingredients are inclueded. Perfect for allergies, intollerances,... :-) we recommend!!

This place is amazing. Compared to the other top places in Cinque Terre, Pisa, etc — this gelato is as good or better; I’ve been to most of them. The gelato really is quite exceptional: remarkably deep and authentic flavors. Do try the pistachio and at least one fruit flavor. Low prices (€1.80 for two scoops in a cup; €3.00 for 4 flavors), great assortment of classic flavors and some more creative options (ricotta and figs!). All excellent. The odd location is well worth the trek; please do yourself and the local economy a service and get yourself here for a fantastic culinary experience. Regrettably, limited seating and non-English-speaking staff (still no problems communicating, though). They did accept card payment even for small amounts! A must-visit food destination in La Spezia.

The best Gelato what we experienced in Italy so far! Good to see staff/owner who understand gluten free meaning. He was dig in all flavors with different spoons into the middle to ignore contamination. Highly recommended for everyone!

We ordered pistacchio and orange-chocolate flavors. It taste very good! The shop has a lot of flavour options that can't be found elsewhere. Worth to try.

Although the ice cream is delicious and one of the best we have tried in Italy, the treatment of its owners was terrible. They took care of us with little desire, the face of few friends. The second time we went to pay, the owner told me that I could not pay by debit, when I told her that the day before I had paid that way, she got upset and charged me but in a very bad way. I don't understand how they don't take care of their business and treat tourists badly. They should be careful and happy that tourism returns to the city after a pandemic.

Small servings. We bought the €3.7 cup and got only two little scoops. Cup has a false bottom making it smaller still. Limone has a chemical taste to it. On the bright side, come here if you want to lose weight. ;)

I got to this place as a tip from a local bartender.. although it's really easy to find it on ur own in the middle of the shopping street and just as easy to take it for granted with the huge number of gelaterias! Possibly one of the best ice creams ive had in la Spezia! It just kept getting better.. the cone was really good and the nice lady there offered to fill the bottom with melted chocolate that freezes with the ice cream and becomes a treat on its own at the end! Regardless of that, the ice cream quality and taste is just fantastic. I definitely recommend this place! Price was reasonable for the huge scoop u get compared to other shops around and i have tried a lot of gelaterias!

This is probably the best ice cream/gelato I’ve ever had! The salted caramel is ridiculously delicious. Our Airbnb was right upstairs which was very dangerous but also amazing. I’m embarrassed to say how many times we went to Lully’s in our 3 days in La Spezia. The service was so friendly too!

At Gelateria Vernazza, customers have the opportunity to sample various flavors before making their decision. The range of options is delicious, with choices like salted caramel and stracciatella (vanilla choc chip) standing out as particularly enjoyable. A small cup with two flavors costs just 2.50 and provides generous scoops of ice cream. Overall, the ice cream at Gelateria Vernazza is good, although some flavors miss the mark, such as vanilla.
A highly recommended gelateria, known for its artisanal approach and delicious, creamy gelato. They offer a wide variety of classic and innovative flavors, often highlighting seasonal fruits and local specialties. It's a perfect place to indulge in a refreshing and authentic Italian treat while wandering through La Spezia. The quality of their ingredients and the care in their preparation truly shine through.

WOW! When your expectations are met, it’s nothing but pure joy. We were slightly hesitant about coming here due to some of the bad reviews, but we’re so glad that it did not put us off as we would have missed out on the delightful gelato ice cream flavours they had to offer. Definitely go for the Gianduia Torino truffle 🤌🏾. Very similar to a ferror rocher. Or the Ricotta and Fichi which was excellent. The staff are quite generous in allowing you to sample some flavours, so don’t be afraid to ask before you try. However don’t go crazy in asking for every single flavour 😅. We strongly recommend that you disregard any review that is less than 5*. Enjoy ☺️!

Adel Gelateria Caffetteria is an adorable establishment that initially drew attention due to its pristine restroom facilities. Moreover, the ice cream offered there is exceptional, boasting a velvety texture and intense flavor. The chocolate option was particularly delightful, while the Nutella and Raffello varieties were also greatly enjoyed by others. Additionally, the affordability of their delectable treats at just 3 euros for two scoops makes it even more enticing.
Lovely breakfast in La Spezia centre! The price is very reasonable and our waitress was super nice. We couldn't make a better choice!

Left a honest review but they wouldnt let me post it. 0/10. Scammers, never go here I warn you. 18 euros for the most small and basic crepes I ever witnessed, they did not want to show me the menu. Horrible horrible place. I even returned one crepe which had a hair in it and they have the guts to charge 18 euro. I recommend any other place in la spezia. Have in mind I have never in my life left a review but I had to make this to warn others from this bs of a place haha!
GBG B — Google review
Very disappointing experience. One of the waitresses, particularly the slim girl, was extremely rude and showed unnecessary attitude towards customers. It’s important to train your staff on basic manners and professionalism. On top of that, she clearly didn’t know how to serve gelato properly—the scoops were unevenly placed, poorly balanced, and the gelato fell out of the cone almost immediately after she handed it to me. Totally unacceptable. Please take this seriously and improve your service
Shreyal P — Google review
DO NOT go if you don't speak Italian! They do not offer a hard copy menu and our SIMS for Italy were not working. We could not get their menu to pull up, but finally did, which was jumbled and all Italian. For a town with a HUGE English-speaking tourism crowd, we felt very unwanted. I wanted to use the toilette and there was NO WAY they would let me until they knew we were eating there. I'm 71 and felt slighted.
Norm Y — Google review
Not at all recommended. The ice cream given by the attender was not at all in a proper way, it was literally falling out of the cone. I also took a tiramisu which had alot of cocoa powder on top. Coming to La Spezia to have a great weekend and things like these ruin your mood at 1 am which was only open option for gelato, is really disheartening. Needs to improve the quality of the products and should learn a proper way to handle the customers.
Ateeb S — Google review
Went in late night for some gelato. It was ok. It was pretty icy and not smooth like other gelato I've had. Other than that the caffetteria was nice clean and open during the later hours which was nice. They had outdoor seating if you wanted to be outside.

Very nice staff. I tried to learn some basic Italian before visiting Italy but I didn’t learn enough to order gelato. :) They were very kind even though we all knew I wasn’t saying the right things. The gelato was delicious and reasonably priced compared to ice cream back in the US. At the time of me writing this it was 2.5 euros for a single scoop and 3.5 euros for a double scoop. Delicious gelato and a lovely owner. We were in La Spezia for 2 days and went back to this gelato shop both days because of the quality of gelato and the kindness of the owner-I would highly recommend this shop!

In 2018 I discovered this lovely little store on a stay in La Spezia, over a 5 day period I became a regular, having 2 to 3 a day. My waistline didn't approve of my actions but my heart certainly did. In fact I became the personification of the store's name, the heart of the glutton. Rosella makes a gelato flavour she calls Agrumi, she said the flavour came to her in a dream. Well ever since then I have been dreaming of that flavour. I loved it so much that I persuaded my local gelato store in Sydney called Mapo (run by some Milanese) to make the flavour too. They reached out to Rosella but unfortunately could not get in touch and since then we have tried to recreate her genius creation. We have something I think is similar now and it's very popular in Sydney. It's amazing that one woman's dreams could delight the hearts of thousands across the globe. Rosella you are a treasure and your little store is on my mind always. I hope we will meet again one day.

I was a tourist in 5 Terre staying on Corso Cavour in La Spezia. While walking up and down Corso Cavour noticed Stampetta as it is quite a big pastry shop and went in to try! Not impressed at all! The stuff in the front, where they sell cannolis and small pastries had no crunch, I am guessing because it was not freshly made. On top of that, even the slice of Genoese that she said was special, and locally famous, was absolutely hard. Price was not high, but by weight items tend to stack up more, and you will be surprised in the end.

(Translated by Google) Friendliness of the staff.... Let's forget about it. The classic Ligurian stereotype, who greets you with difficulty, after you have spent your money in their place, even thanking them. Nice pastries with a visual impact and nothing more. Very little flavor and heavy at the same time!? Little attention is paid to what they put on display. I bought 5 pastas, 3 empty inside, when they had to be filled and burned underneath (clearly I had to throw them away, also because the charred stuff, in addition to being bitter is carcinogenic) and the other 2 inedible as I was saying, devoid of flavor and one bricked at the same time. There may be some flies entering the room, but if they are walking around inside the pasta counter, perhaps it is best to keep it closed and open only when picking up the products. Do I recommend it?? No, I would say not at all. This was my experience 🤷🏻‍♂️ (Original) Cordialità del personale.... Lasciamo perdere. No, direi proprio di no. Questa è stata la mia esperienza 🤷🏻‍♂️

Here in the center I see queues of customers in pastry shops that don't deserve it at all. This pastry shop is definitely worth it. Pastries stuffed to perfection. Delicious cakes. They accommodated me for a particular request for my son's birthday cake and the result was fantastic. However, creativity aside, you can feel the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Owners and collaborators are very kind, helpful and also friendly which is an added and not obvious value. The breakfasts are also excellent. This gelateria is worth the walk from the main strip in La Spezia! Prices are very reasonable for the amount of quality delivered. I think it was a little less than 3 euros for a small which came with 2 scoops/flavors. The fruit flavored gelato is made with real fruit. Take a close look and you'll see the skin/flesh/seeds of whatever fruit was used to make it. It tastes completely natural with no artificial flavoring.

Staff was unfriendly, almost disrespectful to the customers : the staff dropped the ice-cream we just ordered, half of it fell on the floor and they didn’t offer a new one, were even shocked when we mentioned that it was not very normal to give us only half of it because of their mistake. On top of that, there is nothing artisanal about the products. We would just recommend for you to go somewhere else if you’re looking for a good Italian ice cream.

We went around 1700. My wife wanted yogurt but the machine was broken. She then chose an affogato but they didn’t have coffee or vanilla gelato, so she settled for cheesecake gelato. When I went to pay, it was cash only. We sat outside to enjoy what we bought to then find out that the cheesecake gelato was really coconut gelato with strawberry syrup. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY here.

Really delicious pastries. I’d say, ottimo! For me personally was all delicious and beautifully done. I appreciated that the taste was not too sweet, it’s just rightly sweet to appreciate the other flavors in each of the pastries. Bought both small and big pastries and each one was a different experience. Each of them was completely well thought of. Really special. Some people complained of the price, which I understand. But, for the quality ratio is acceptable. The products are not just typical italian desserts but so much more. I spent 20€ but i’m satisfied with the taste. So for me is okay. I just hope they have a seating area.
