Nestled in the charming town of Ramsbottom, The Chocolate Cafe is a delightful haven for chocolate lovers and foodies alike. This enchanting spot offers an array of luxurious hot chocolate drinks, gourmet coffee, and refreshing leaf teas paired with light bites. With its unique offerings like lemon chocolate buttons and cookies and cream pizza, it’s a treasure trove of sweet surprises.
Discovered this place on Google before we set off for a little afternoon in Ramsbottom. The drinks and food were very fresh and fairly priced and tasted to perfection. There was a little error with the sandwich but this was rectified and the manager apologised and gave some free chocolate to make it up. Really good service given it was our first visit. We will definately be back to support this lovely independent cafe/chocolate shop.

This is the 2nd time I have visited The Chocolate Cafe and was extremely disappointed! Our party of 3 arrived to allow plenty of time to eat before they closed - or so we thought! There was a queue of people waiting to be seated when we arrived so we had a short wait. We had another wait before our waitress came and asked whether we had ordered. We gave her our order and about 10 minutes later she returned to tell us none of the items we had ordered were available. We gave her another order. We then had an extremely long wait and were about to question where our food was when the waitress returned and informed us our order had not gone through, she didn't know why and offered us a round of drinks to compensate (we had almost finished our drinks as we had been waiting so long). Obviously we then had yet another wait for our food to arrive. I ordered tuna, onion and cheese ciabatta, which although it tasted very nice, was only luke warm. Ham sandwich was lovely as was the bacon barm. When we had eaten we asked the waitress if we could order dessert and she informed us they had taken last order so no, we couldn't! I was NOT very happy about this. We had not been informed when they were taking last orders, otherwise we would have ordered our deserts then and it was the staff's fault that it was so late when we finished eating our mains. Not impressed! As replied to below, I was offered a full refund after posting this review on their Facebook page and being given the excuse that their staff were rusty after 6 months off due to covid - seems to be the go to excuse for bad service these days. I received a message off Google asking me to post a review - so I did. As for staff being upset - I was upset by the way they treated my friends and I. Considering the expensive prices they charge I would expect better and if they can afford to turn down orders due to their own staffs' failings then things haven't been that hard.

Our first experience of the Chocolate Cafe and wow! Unbelievable food and service! The chef is clearly extremely talented. The menu was perfect and I made a great choice in Eggs Royale. Absolutely amazing food, drinks and we will be back 😋 😀

Lovely place, lovely staff, good products at reasonable prices. Luxury hot chocolate and a milk shake ... without the cream. Both really yummy.

Visited this small but sweet cafe last weekend. Chose the banoffee belgian waffle. I could not believe the size of it when they brought it over. Shall be back again when hopefully the chocolate shop will be open downstairs!

The farm shop features a small deli with locally sourced meats from home-reared animals and delectable Lancashire cheeses that are sure to impress any cheese lover. During our visit yesterday, my wife and I were treated to an exceptional experience. From the moment we entered, the friendly staff made us feel right at home. We both savored the heavenly milkshakes, sipping on the delectable flavors while sharing smiles and creating cherished memories. The delightful ice cream also captured our taste buds, and we indulged in each other's company over every creamy spoonful. The ambiance and delicious food made it a perfect outing for the two of us. We can't wait to return and relive this wonderful experience together. 5/5

Just enjoyed a wonderful roast beef dinner with all the trimmings. Shared a bottle of wine and finished with cake, ice cream and cappuccino. Delicious, staff friendly and efficient, certainly value for money. Will definitely be going back.

Twice I have visited but never again for a meal. First time I visited I ordered a tuna sandwich. £7. The sandwich had barely an inch of filling in the centre of it. So was given a better one. Second time my husband ordered a baked potato. It tasted bad! Four of us tried a tiny taste and all said the same thing so. Second one was brought to him. It was the smallest baked potato I have ever seen and again tasted off. It tasted as if it had been boiled dry and was brown inside. Don’t know if they maybe par boil them first The last suggested to my husband in a very rude manner “it must be your taste that’s off!” Four of us must have had “off taste buds” that day in that case. The woman who took our order had no customer skills either. She shouted from one end of the table to the other and isn’t have any manners or a smile

This was our first visit. We gave 2 stars purely for the facilities for small children, as my daughter loved playing outside for a good 2 hours. In terms of service, I think there are a few training needs which I will break down next. When we arrived, there was an elderly couple already waiting at the stand, so not sure how long they had waited before we arrived. It was busy inside, but there were free tables. We stood with them for at least 5 minutes before we saw them so much as acknowledged. A young girl greeted them, asked them if they had a booking to which they said no and she took them to a table by the entrance with no menus, she then she ignored them for a futher 5 minutes (of which we were waiting to even be acknowledged) before the elderley couple got up and left to their car - for which I cannot blame them and I hope this wasn't their first experience. Another 5 minutes passed before we watched the girl walk past us with still no acknowledgement and head to their now empty table. She sighed when she saw they were absent and went back to where menus were stored and slammed them down. After 15 minutes of us waiting, without so much as a glance or a word in that time, we were eventually greeted, but it wasn't a warm greet, it was very apparent she didn't want to be there. For example, "I am really sorry, we are really busy, but I will be with you as soon as I can" would not have gone amiss, or even a smile. We needed a table for 5 (3 adults and 2 toddlers) we hadnt booked, but were happy to wait as there were outdoor facilities our kids could enjoy. However, she wandered off, came back, said "I can't do 5, so unless you're willing to sit outside...." and tailed off. I said we can sit outside if that's the only option, so she gave me 2 menus and then just walked off, no futher guidance, and we haven't visited before. We made our own way outside to discover that it was a completely different and very basic menu which again was not explained. But we had already stood with two 3 year olds for a good 20 minutes and just wanted the kids to have a good time. Therefore we encouraged them to go play and made the best of the situation to ensure that happened. But the service was truly, truly awful and I don't think the outdoor facilites are good enough to warrant risking that again. From the simplified menu, we queued to order coffees and a basic sandwich each. When the coffees arrived, they had been majorly burnt, but after queuing to sit outside then queue again to order, we didnt want to queue again and deal with any more bad attitude, so just powered through it. The upside is that we were able to let the kids play outside for a good 2 hours, and they had a great time together. But, it quietened off indoors within 30m of us sitting outside, so if we had been given an option to wait for a table indoors we would have taken it, and it would have been possible, but we were not. Instead, we were very much made to feel like an inconvenience and not a valued customer.

Absolutely amazing farm shop cafe. We all went as a family and had roast dinner. Food was amazing and the views are amazing. Definitely recommend

A lovely place to grab a great coffee, food really good home made, as is their ice-cream and homemade cakes pies and pastries....delicious. They have a small deli section that sells homemade sausages, bacon and vacuum packed meats from home reared animals, along with some delicious absolutely delicious Lancashire cheeses, the best I've tasted in a long time. Great seating areas outside whilst you can have your lunch the kids can safely play on one of the many toy tractors. Give it a try you will not be disappointed!

Every time we visit Ramsbottom we always visit Mrs P's. On this occasion my son and I were on a bike ride and it had just turned 5.00pm and it looked like the owner was closing up for the day. However he saw us and invited us in letting us know there was only a limited offer of ice cream available. We quickly ordered two ice creams and scoffed them before jumping back on our bikes.
Mike N — Google review
I took my grandson here as it's closer to where we live and based on feedback I'd heard, thought it would be an excellent visit. I'm sorry to say I didn't feel it was a great visit. I felt the portion size was very small and the ice cream was okay. I am basing this on my experience going to our usual ice cream place, Jersey Girls. Both the costs are very similar but portion size is much better at Jersey Girls. I also feel the ice cream itself is much nicer at Jersey Girls. Service was okay. Based on my experience I wouldn't go back but this is just my personal opinion.

A must visit if you're in Ramsbottom. Panini's and light bites are delicious. And to top it all off the ice cream is amazing, so many different yummy flavours.

10/10, absolute quality. Went here on the Saturday 10th June when it was absolutely scorching. The shop was busy as you could imagine however there wasn't too long of a wait to be served. The staff were absolutely lovely, really nice and friendly. I got a unicorn cone with biscoff and a caramel crunch scoop. The ice creams were incredible. I'd definitely be returning here.

Rawkies Kitchen is an independent cafe and bar that offers a unique dining experience. The Yorkshire pudding wrap is a standout dish, blending unexpected flavors that surprisingly work well together. Vegetarian options are plentiful, providing a refreshing selection for non-meat eaters. Additionally, the cafe's afternoon tea features superb coffee and fresh, perfectly presented vegan treats. The desserts are particularly impressive, and the hospitality makes visitors feel warmly welcomed, even those with young children.
An amazing evening at Rawkies for the Valentine's Tasting Menu. Every dish was exquisite - we were so impressed that my vegan version of each dish was near-enough the same as my partner's meat equivalent. Delicious food. Incredibly friendly service. And a lovely, welcoming restaurant. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back.

What a wonderful find! Great for veggies and vegans too. We had the 6 course (vegan) taster menu but will definitely be back to try out the rest of their extensive menus. They also do Sunday roasts and afternoon teas. There's definitely something for everyone. Great price points for top quality food.

Amazing food, very well presented. Great flavours. Generous portions and good value for money. Good to be able to try fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere in the town centre. We went for the Sunday lunch option which was amazing. We'll be back to try the 6 course tasting menu in the near future!

Rawkies is a hidden gem! The Focus is 100% on beautifully presented, tasty, quality food!! We were really impressed with the menu & every item we ordered! It’s small with simply decor because the owners have obviously invested more in the food than making the surrounding pretentious & showy which is how it should be! We had starters, mains & a desert with wine & a cocktail. The Lancashire bomber custard was remarkable & considering the portion size was bigger than we expected it was so light & had amazing flavour! Featherblade beef was delicious & beautifully cooked! Overall we were very impressed & will certainly be going back!!

Just had dinner here with my bf. We truly enjoyed it. Service was very friendly and the food was superb. One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. The calamari were really good and so were the arancini. We shared the hot cookie dough for dessert which was lovely. Both our waitress and chef are great. The restaurant is cozy and the menu varied with a lot of vegetarian/vegan options too. Great value for money. We loved it. 100% recommended.

My best friend told me about this little gem in bury at end of April. Since then I have visited it 3 times. First time was to try it out as I was visiting an event at the met. Based on the excellent food and service I then booked it for my daughter’s birthday afternoon tea treat which was my second visit and then I went a third time for my partners birthday and we had the taster menu. All 3 times we have really enjoyed the food, the couple who run it are super nice and the cost is so reasonable for the high standard of food you get. Will definitely visit again as want to try the new taster menu. I have told all my friends and family about it as really want to support a local small business.
Karen B — Google review
Absolute gem of a place in Bury Town centre. Food was incredible and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. This was a birthday treat for my brother and we had the best night. Such a relaxed atmosphere and the prices are really reasonable for the love and effort that goes into each dish. People need to support amazing places like this so we get to enjoy them for as long as we can. Just what Bury needs, you are smashing it!!

Frurt (Self Serve) is a delightful spot for frozen yogurt enthusiasts, especially on those sweltering days when you crave something cool and refreshing. The self-serve option allows you to customize your treat with an impressive array of flavors and toppings, including vegan-friendly choices. While the prices may be on the higher side, many patrons find the quality worth it. Families love visiting Frurt, particularly for its unique flavors like sweet potato that leave a lasting impression.
Took the kids here over weekend. Some of the best frozen yoghurt i’ve ever had. Yeah it is not cheap but it’s very good. The sweet potato flavour is ridiculously good, make sure to try this flavour. Plenty of parking over the road at st marys park. Will be back.

I arrived on Monday at 10.30pm and the shutters were down even though it says it shuts at 10.45pm. I was accompanied with family and kids so it was a bit stressful. I then rang to check if they are open and was told by the worker that it is open and she opened the shutters to allow us in. At this point it was 10.40pm. The worker was extremely rude and rushed us. She kept reminding us that they close in a few minutes. Then when it was 10.45pm she essentially forced us all to pay even though we were just putting toppings on and it would’ve only taken us an extra 2 minutes or so to finish. I found this behaviour extremely unprofessional and not courteous at all. As paying customers if we are in a shop before closing time I think it’s normal to just wait a few minutes until we’re done rather than to rush us and force us to pay quickly as soon as it turns 10.45pm. I have never in my life been told to leave a shop bang on closing time if as a customer you have entered before. Additionally we were being very considerate of the situation we kept apologising and rushing when she told us they’re closing soon, we were not being difficult or impolite at all. Moreover, we would have been there earlier if the shutters weren’t down before closing time, which is what caused the confusion and made us late. We were with 2 young children and 2 babies and this experience just became unnecessarily stressful rather than enjoyable. I am really disappointed as I enjoy Frurt a lot, but this experience would make me think twice about going again.

Decent, <3 the self serve option, as I have been to the one within town and that did not have a self serve option. Great on a hot day. Really admire the fact that there are SO many options though. Slightly pricy IMO, 2 cups for £25 The inside is way too small unfortunately and was really hot. Staff weren’t welcoming or friendly either. 4/5.
Aysha A — Google review
The woman who served me was very rude. Her attitude towards me as I was deciding what I wanted made me feel rushed and she even rolled her eyes at me. I will not be going back and I hope that she is either fired or the place is shut down. The frozen yogurt also had big lumps in it. I would rather recommend eating out of a trash can then going to this place.

Amazing and quality frozen yogurt and they have a endless variety of toppings the flavours are spot on, the staff are very welcoming, polite and friendly. Frurt it self is very well presented, you definitely want to come back again and again 😊👏
SAN C — Google review
I love this place & I’m probably single handedly paying their rent. I just wish that there was cover on the toppings though as I’ve witnessed people getting really close and breathing all over them which isn’t hygienic. Otherwise I’m there everyday

Vegan review: Loved this! There’s 2 dairy free versions to choose from, loads of vegan toppings and sauces. It’s calculated by weight! Shame it’s served in polystyrene cups and plastic spoons even though we ate in. Hopefully more recyclable materials will be used in future.

Had it first time. It’s a different expert. First you take the size of cup, pour ice cream, take chocolates fruits and then add sauce all by urself. Ice cream type of yogurt. Worth to try .

Posh Cakes is an extraordinary business with a breathtaking store and delectable sweets. They have been consistently impressive in providing cakes for various celebrations, always exceeding expectations. The staff members are kind and professional, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Posh Cakes as they offer the most exceptional cakes in Bury. Their creations not only look incredible but also have an amazing taste, all at very reasonable prices.
I would like to stress the business has a new owner. Alhamdulillah we have ordered 3 Cakes from here (all on short notice like 2-3 days before picking up) and we have had no issues at all. I live 5-10 minutes away, so the establishment is not far from me. The shop is also decorated very nice and the lady/owner is very helpful/respectful and so are her staff. (she explained how to store the cake as other food stored in the fridge there smell can latch on to the cream which give its weird smell and taste) They don't have parking at the front as the shop is on a main road but can park on Queen Street (the street behind the shop). Prices wise I payed around £40-£50 for the cakes. All cakes were amazing no issues and my Mrs had the ice cream from there and she loved it. I believe they can create and cake you want I am just happy I don't have to travel out of town for a cake! The only criticism I can say (and this is me being very picky) is the cakes may have a bit extra cream on them BUT I prefer extra cream over extra icing! Obviously depends on the style of cake you want. 5 Stars all the way!!! (Pictures were edited due to privacy)

An amazing business! Stunning shop and the desserts are delightful. We’ve ordered cakes for celebrations on so many occasions and they never disappoint, always deliver beyond expectations. Staff are very kind and professional. 100% recommend, best cakes in Bury. Look phenomenal, taste great and very affordable.
Momina B — Google review
Wouldn't recommend. The cakes were undercooked, you can clearly see from the outset that the cakes were extremely pale, despite my instinct, i gave them the benefit of the doubt, but as shown in the images, it was soggy inside, highlighting that it has not been cooked to the standard it needs to be at. To top it off, the customer service was horrendous! - implying that I lied about the cakes being undercooked! Definitely won't be ordering from here, and WOULD NOT recommend it either, pure waste...

I wanted a gender reveal cake for my sister in law and brother and approached Posh Cakes in Bury. I spoke to Shabana who was very helpful and was even able to customise the inside of the cake with sweets (which other places would not do). Even though I did not go with the sweets in the middle in the end, I was extremely happy with the look and presentation of the cake. All the guests loved the cake and how soft it was. I got a lot of questions asking where it was from! I strongly recommend this cake shop to all and will always come back here for future orders! Thank you Posh Cakes/Shabana xxx

Ordered a Turkey salad sandwich which was delicious , not many cakes left to choose from but that could of just been the time of day I went , maybe you have to get in there early to have more choice , lady behind the counter was lovely , would visit again .

A woman not a manager had served someoen before me without gloves and I was expecting her to wash her hands to serve next person and she didn’t and I felt grossed out as I had a vege option and she touched meat from before

Requested a small buffet for 9 today and received a feast, lovely fresh sandwiches, crisps, salad, pork pies and a selection of mini cakes. Delicious food and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend Thanks ladies 🌈

Bakery
Amanda's Little Cake Boutique offers an excellent selection of cakes and cupcakes that are both visually appealing and delicious. The cakes have a light and airy sponge, complemented by the perfect hint of lemon. Amanda's attention to detail is evident from the beginning to the end, making her highly recommended for anyone in need of a cake. The bakery also offers a range of flavors and presentations that are impressive yet reasonably priced.
Absolutely fantastic cake in both design and taste - light, fluffy sponge & just the right amount of lemon👌🏻Amanda was fantastic from start to finish, highly recommended and will definitely be straight back here when we need another cake

Ice cream shop
During my recent visit to Glida, I was thrilled by the delightful experience that awaited me. This charming ice cream parlour is a haven for dessert lovers, offering an impressive selection of flavors that range from timeless classics to innovative creations. While I had hoped for gluten-free waffles or crepes, they weren't available; however, the dark chocolate and strawberry ice creams were absolutely divine! The smoothies were equally fantastic and perfect for takeaway.
I came especially from afar because I realized that this is almost the only place in all of Manchester that produces fresh quality gelato ice cream and it was so tasty and high quality that I have been a good customer ever since! An inviting, clean and quality place

Lovely place! The most delicious ice cream I've ever eaten, you really feel like you're in Italy. The design is like in a fairy tale. I highly recommend it to those who want a moment of fun.

I didn't try everything, wanted gluten free waffles or crepes but not available. Dark chocolate ice cream is out of this world and strawberry is delicious ! Have also had AMAZING smoothies both in an takeaway. Service was very kind and considerate but it was quite busy. Atmosphere is gorgeous ka"h and I even got a photo of myself with WINGS! Very cute. Only issue is that iced food not labelled and I would like to know what's inside before I open the lid. All over nice experience.

Bit expensive but great service and a very nice treat. Great portions as well so you don’t feel cheated. Great atmosphere as well.

CASH ONLY. There is a cash machine outside the post office across the road. Service needs some work, it was total chaos. But the ice cream was sublime, really creamy and full of flavour. Lots of good choices. We will definitely be regular customers, I'm sure the service will get better....

Fantastic home made Gelato, Frozen yogurt, Crepes, Waffles and more. Friendly service, my fortnight treat with my daughter.

Incredibly rude staff/owner/whoever runs this place. Avoid Edit due to strange response: ?? I came here last week after work with family and the staff were incredible rude whilst trying to order here, hence my review.

I had the pleasure of visiting Glida, and I am overjoyed to share my outstanding experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat that would awaken my taste buds and transport me to a world of frozen delights. This ice parlour is nothing short of a paradise for ice cream enthusiasts. The menu boasts an array of flavours that seem to defy the limits of imagination. From classic favourites to inventive concoctions, this parlour has it all. What truly impressed me was the authenticity of the flavours – each scoop tasted like a masterpiece crafted with the purest ingredients and a dash of magic. The presentation of the ice creams is a work of art in itself. From vibrant colours to intricate garnishes, every serving is an Instagram-worthy delight. And the taste? Absolutely divine! The texture is incredibly creamy, melting on the tongue in a symphony of flavours that dance and linger long after the last spoonful. But what truly sets this ice parlour apart is the exceptional service. The staff exudes passion and enthusiasm for their craft, making every visit a memorable experience. Their knowledge about the different flavours and their willingness to offer personalized recommendations showcase their dedication to ensuring that each customer finds their perfect scoop.
