The 50 best desserts and snacks in the Austrian Alps

Tried the apple strudel and poppyseed plum strudel. The pastry itself is very good - thin but robust. The apple one was nice, but there was additional filling and the texture of the nuts inside was not to my taste. The poppyseed one tasted too bitter and too sweet to the extent I didn't want to finish it. The young lady who served me was nice. Overall it was OK - overrated and overpriced.

I came to this place because they were supposed to have gluten free strudel. They did not. They only have one gluten free bread. The normal strudel was fine, but it is served without any sauce (it costs extra). 10€ for one plain strudel and a piece of bread is not fine.

we went here because in the menu it said that there are gluten-free cakes and strudel and also vegan strudel. I’m celiac so I was quite excited, but there sadly weren’t any gluten-free strudel, which was okay tho because they had gluten-free cake. Sadly I’ve never eaten such a bad cake so I was quite disappointed (also not cheap, one pice of gluten-free cake was 6.40). The not gluten-free options that my friends are were really good tho, the vegan option as well. So if you look for gluten-free food I can’t recommend it, otherwise it’s nice.

It is a small place so it can be packed real quick but we got lucky and got a table outside. Inside is small and when it’s full of people the air can be bad. So I recommend the outside seating where you can see the beautiful street of Innsbruck old city. The coffee was ohkay but the strudel was really tasty!

It was very very tasty!!!! Very big choice of strudels, as sweet as salt. I try classic with apple and with rhabarber. We will return for sure because we need to try a lot of things more! And the staff is very fast and kind!

The price on vitrine (5.80) was different when we sat for order (6.40). I assumed it was because of the service. Overall, was good, however the taste could be better, considering the price.

This place has a wide variety of the famous Austrian Desserts & food options. We tried the Sacher Torte and Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce and both the desserts were nice. It's a cozy place located on the Maria Theresa Street next to the Golden Roof so the environment is quite vibrant and lively.

We visited Cafe Sacher Wien as a tourist ‘must do’ on our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Vienna. After a short queue we were invited upstairs and found a great table. The ambiance and decor of the cafe are fabulous. The cake and coffee while expensive were also great. What let the cafe down was the truly awful and entitled attitude of the waiters / waitresses. It took about twenty minutes to get served. The order arrived quickly, however I had to ask three times for milk for a pot of tea. I also asked four times for the bill and when it still had not arrived after 30 minutes I went up to the counter to pay. The waiter was brisk and rude throughout and did not get a tip! On leaving we noticed there was a huger queue which could have been moved through the cafe quicker with better service.

This café is for you if you enjoy a condescending and inattentive service, albeit in a nice historical setting. There is often a long queue outside, however when we were sat upstairs, the floor was half-empty. Perhaps this is to create a sense of exclusivity or the service is simply lacking efficiency (as highlighted in other reviews). We came here for a meal and the cake. The server made it his mission to make this experience as awkward as possible. To start, he came across as quite rude and condescending. He proceeded to knock over one of our glasses, without apologising or cleaning up the contents on the table. The attention to detail was poor, as he forgot to bring the spoons for the soup, and the butter for the breads (we never got the butter). This is despite multiple reminders. Apart from that, the main attraction - Sachertorte - was nothing more than an average chocolate cake. We have had it plenty of times before in Salzburg and simply wanted to try it in the original location. Overall, I am aware that this review won’t stop tourists from visiting the café, but it would be a shame if their experience is tarnished by the same level of service we received. Hopefully they are able to make some much needed improvements to match the more pleasant experience we received in Sacher Salzburg Café, which would be fitting of this historical establishment.

A beautiful, classy, ornate setting to try the famous sacher torte. The cake itself is nice but nothing special. However, as an experience it is a great thing to do as a tourist. We had lovely waitress too who was so friendly and nice.

A too much hyped Café but reality doesn't meet the expectations at all. Everything was mediocre at best. They were polite but a bit cold. Υou will wait outside to be called even early in the morning when there is no-one else waiting. You will sit wherever they tell you even when every table is empty. Coffee and famous Sachertorte are very average and they are definitely not worth the money. On the good side the interior is really classy. I would not recommend it.

Cons: 1 - There was a large option of coffee, but the selection of pastries was limited. 2 - We did not find the service attentive or friendly. We don‘t need to chat or make small talk, but a smile is way better than some staring, I am a client here, I m not asking for some favor. 3 - It took them a long time to clean the tables even though there was a long line outside. Pro: the cake was good

Dry cake and slow service - not worth the hype. Unfortunately I think this place survives on its history and social media fame. We paid 23€ for the driest Sacher torte we had in Austria and a black tea. Service was extremely slow. The only gluten free option is the esterhazy torte and they had none left. The only redeeming factor that earnt it 2 stars was the hot chocolate and ice chocolate.

The coffee Sacher is overrated. The Sacher cake was indeed dry as described. We still don’t get why the chocolate cake is that famous. We have tasted better elsewhere. The service is good, staff are amazing at service you and making your coffee! Talented team.

Went to the cafe and just wanted to say Elke was such an amazing and cheerful staff. From the moment she sat us down all the way till we left, and even to other customers around us too. She made our experience at the cafe better than we expected. Staff were super friendly, the food and atmosphere were great. Eating here made our experience in Vienna more memorable! Huge line to seat in the cafe so I just got the Kaiserschmarrn for take away. It was super delicious and one of the best sweets I’ve had in Vienna. It’s a bit expensive but I think it worth it to try it when you are in Vienna. The store is also very beautiful itself and you can buy souvenirs. 💯 Great experience

The place looks really nice with a charming, antique atmosphere. We were lucky to arrive about 30 minutes before opening, as a queue started forming very quickly! Through the window, you can even watch the chef preparing Austrian pancakes, which adds a lovely authentic touch. The service was simple and fast, which we really appreciated. We ordered the Sacher and Kaiserschmarrn. The Sacher was excellent — when it arrived, I expected it to be dry or the chocolate too hard, but it was quite the opposite: moist cake and soft, rich chocolate. The Kaiserschmarrn were also very tasty, with hot and delicious plum jam on the side. To drink, we had a cappuccino, which had a nice, rich coffee flavor and perfectly frothy milk. Overall, it was a great experience — delicious food, cozy ambiance, and quick service. I would definitely recommend this place! ☕🍰

Pricey but an experience. A short wait as seats with multiple floors. Anna cake was good but tasted like normal chocolate cake. Hot chocolate was indulgent and chocolatey. The pancakes were fluffy although not very hot or warm and didn’t have enough plum sauce to go with it Waitress was friendly and smiley. Toilets available.

Elegant & refined old school grand cafe. We booked here for lunch after our historical walking tour and it was the perfect spot to relax & absorb all the amazing history we’d just learnt. Firstly the indoor seating area is just beautiful and so elegant and stylish. Secondly the service was excellent- super friendly and welcoming. Thirdly, the food was superb- they have a wonderful all-day menu. Very traditional Austrian food. The sausage plate was utterly delicious, as was the potato salad. The grand finale was the cakes - wow, the glass cake cabinet is lined with one beautiful cake after another. And perfectly paired on a hot summers day with an ice coffee. Perfection. Make sure you book in advance. Highly recommended.

I’m sure that most of the time, the service is great. However, we went there as a group of five and for some reason “the kitchen confused our order with another table so they thought they have made it already”… We waited for 50 minutes for a breakfast… When we got the food, it was very good, with beautiful esthetics-we enjoyed it. Hopefully it won’t happen next time I visit Vienna 🫡

We were very lucky to be seated in the sun, outside, on a Saturday in October in less than 15min. The Esterhazy cake tasted great though the Sachertorte was dry. Coffee is good. The main point about this place is the history and elegance / chic interiors.

Great atmosphere, but the drinks arrived mostly cold and the apfelstrudel specially the cream do not feel fresh or perfectly made to be at the same level of the café. - The biggest offender: please do not ask for tips in Europe, it is an insult to the culture, and to the customer. Specially since we, as students, were treated differently and ignored for further orders when declined tipping. This change in behaviour is unprofessional, please consider these points because I want to come back to this lovely place again for my anniversary.

Very beautiful place. The waiters are handsome and very helpful. Delicious cakes and drinks make me happy 😃. It was so cold over there, so I decided to go to the Cafe. I enjoy eating delicious Zacher. Munis is only that it’s expensive cafes, but location is really good.

After a long walk in the cold from Christmas market to Christmas market we needed a warm place to get back to normal. We stepped into Hofburg. It is a nice place. Very busy, so we had to queue up before we were seated. We took a soup and later a white wine. Prices are to high. Service was good.

We had a coffee here and I decided to try the dessert. It was nice,the restaurant vibe is so classy, service was okay . They have a nice variety of dessert and most of all the coffee was very nice,they have a outdoor seating even in winter.

Very good service , after visit Hofburg Palace , my husband and me wanna find a place to take a rest. The server gave us some suggestion for the dessert, they are really amazing. This is a City of Dessert, since their Queen (Sissi) had ice-cream and dessert every NIGHT!!

Visited here twice on my short trip to Salzburg. The first time, had to grab some coffees and breakfast to go. Got the oat cappuccino and vegan porridge and was a great start to my day. The staff were super nice too! The second time, I was able to enjoy a casual breakfast on a Sunday morning and my partner and I had a very pleasant time. Got the vegan delight breakfast and heart of joy sandwich with oat cappuccinos and the spread was beautiful and super tasty. Everyone was having a nice time that morning. Will miss this place ❤️

There is nothing exceptional about The Heart of Joy. However, all the items we tried were good. Plus the atmosphere is very relaxed and 'clean', for want of a better word. I'd ordered what I think was their flagship salad. It was good, I got my veggie portions and then some, but it wasn't particularly memorable. Ditto with my wife's rice and curry. Good but not great. My little one's tomato mozzarella sandwich was the best of the lot.

We loved Heart of Joy in Salzburg! Had smoked tofu sandwiches for breakfast and came back again for lunch because the food was delicious and healthy — dal with rice and a falafel sandwich hit the spot.

Walk in and you are met with warm smiles and calm music. The menu has great choices. My husband and I were here for breakfast on a Sunday. I had the porridge which is a yummy and generous soze. They also have nice vegetarian and vegan options. Something for everyone. It is very popular, so walk ins should be fairly early, otherwise reservations are a good idea.

A nice place to start my journey in Salzburg. Located in walkable distance from the head train station and near the Mirabell palace where I can take photos of the castle and church dome in one scene. The food was great. Staff are friendly to us. There is some sort of embrace of a lifestyle figure in the cafe and you can enjoy your meal under his presence.

Very busy little coffee shop but with plenty of seating available. The menu is mostly coffee and 3 or so breakfast or lunch items and some cakes available from the front area. The service was not very friendly or welcoming but was fast and efficient. We had Apfelstrudel wich was sadly not my taste. They have clean toilets on the first floor.

I love this pastry shop. It's a small place, but really nice. I ate a cake that was like a brownie with mango mousse on top and it was very tasty. I think it's the best place in Innsbruck if you want to try some sweet treats and enjoy your day there.

Had a great time at Cafe Munding, an iconic cafe at Innsbruck, Austria. Cash only for some reason . No credit cards. Amazing confectionery and excellent coffee . Service is a tad slow perhaps it’s a very busy place. Very memorable

Atmosphere was really nice but we couldnt find a seat. I was craving hot chocolate so i went to get it here as it was well reviewed. However, i did not enjoy the hot chocolate. If you’re a fan of rich hot chocolate that resembles molten chocolate - thick and rich and tastes like melted chocolate with some milk/cream, then the hot chocolate from here isnt for you! The hot chocolate from here tastes more like milo + milk. Or cocoa powder with milk and sugar rather than melted chocolate in milk. Kind of like swissmiss made with cream/whipped cream. The taste of milk and sugar is more overpowering than that of chocolate. So if you’re someone who doesnt like dark chocolate or hot chocolate that is too rich, this will be up your alley!

The oldest coffee place in Innsbruck and a must visit! The cakes are simply delightful. AND: everything is 100 % vegetarian (no gelatin)... and a lot of glutenfree options. Friendly staff and nice old-fashioned interior! A perfect place for breakfast or an afternoon coffee, just wow.

Oldest cafe in Innsbruck and it’s decor is definitely very classic. The cakes are pretty and nice, but the soup is just average. Service is good and the place is often crowded. Worth a visit for coffee as it has a very impressive menu. We also liked their hot chocolate.

I tried their breakfast “Wie der Franzose”, Zwetschgenkuchen (Plum cake) and Verlängerter Coffee. Everything was super delicious, environment was chill and staffs are super friendly. Obviously recommended if you’re visiting Innsbruck.

A coffee and pastry shop in the best location of old town. We only had coffees which were great just a bit on the small side. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Prices are on the higher end but it's tourist central and to be expected.

A very beautiful cafe in heart of Innsbruck. They have variety of drinks to choose from and desserts too. They have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The staff is very friendly. We took there inhouse made dessert and really liked it.

Disgusting serving of strudel, ice cream is additionally included in the bill. Average quality strudel. Ordered 2 teapots of tea, extra charge for each empty cup. Bank cards are not accepted. Waiters did not warn about anything in advance. Then they looked away. I do not recommend spoiling the impression of the city by visiting this place.

Beautiful place to chill or having some sweets. Cakes look amazing. The ice cream tasted so good too! Especially the pistachio ice cream. But for the banana split, the banana wasn’t sweet, it would be great if it was sweet. Overall a lovely experience to dine there. Lovely and friendly service as well

Bad interaction with waiter. 4 of us ordered 2 pastries and wanted to order one more after we finished. The waiter was inflexible and rude - he insisted we order some drinks. There were some empty tables so we are not sure why he had to insist. This felt unwelcome so we left.

Very interesting to learn about Freud. But you should be patient to read texts about him and his work rather than seeing exposed materials which are limited. Anyways I think visiting this museum is something to do for general culture. Please don't bring your kids since it might be boaring for them

A very interesting museum in Vienna! I appreciated this so much esp as a professional working with children. Been reading about Freud for years and it’s amazing to see his actual place and belongings. There are a lot of interactive areas too. Bought a coaster from the shop.

the museum is a piece of history and well worth a visit...especially for those people who thought they knew him and his family. we enjoyed our time. You can walk room by room and you will read the history and see the artifacts of the time. Unfortunately, all the walls have been painted over, so it is just a shade of white and there is no furniture in any spaces.

Ok Museum if you were curious about what Freud had as wallpaper and his antique figurines. There are info plaque to read about Freuds work but not very comprehensive and sort of randomly put together with unfinished stories. I went in the fall and it eas very busy not sure there would be much room to read all the info in peak tourist season. Exhibits need to be recurated maybe start with a 10 min video giving an overview of his career and then focus on some of his work supporters and critiques and maybe some guest artist on the theme. After this vist I lost any interest in Freud and his work, you see how shelter a life he mostly lived his life in this building and I start to wonder did he really have the life experience to fully comprehend the mind.

Highly recommend a visit. It was wonderful to be in the apartment were Freud did his work. Very spacious and well worth the 20 euros. A nice coffee shop at the ground floor, coffee was great.

Very moving and interesting museum. It's divided between the Professor's Practice and Apartment. Ideally you would need multiple visits as there is a lot to take in. Feels sacred.

It was an intimate museum. Love the part where they play a long video of his daughter introducing some videos shot back in the days. Feels closer to the whole family after watching. Staffs were very nice too.

A must when visiting Innsbruck. It’s the oldest café in the city, with a traditional and classic interior that is both spectacular and welcoming at the same time. We went for breakfast and were impressed by the huge variety of options, from more than ten types of coffee to pastries, as well as hot breakfast dishes like eggs or bacon. The food is delicious, the coffee excellent, and the portions just right. Prices are very competitive and the service is fast and efficient. Without a doubt, my favorite spot in Innsbruck to have breakfast or enjoy a good coffee.

We had a quiet lovely morning here. We took simple ordinary breakfast, so couldn’t really recommend any food, but we enjoyed our time here. The staff was also kind. We just noticed that some tables weren’t served promptly.

Lovely old school Vienna coffee house. Feels like going back in time. The waitress was very friendly and spoke English well. Food was great and good price too. Recommend for an authentic experience.

I visited Café Central to try their desserts and ordered the Kaiserschmarrn and the apple pie. The apple pie was disappointing. On top of that, the staff were not friendly at all. Overall, it was far below my expectations.

Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The service was poor, with staff that appeared inattentive and unprofessional. The place was not clean, and our table was never cleared after the previous guests. The atmosphere was also unpleasant – there was no music, only constant noise coming from the kitchen, which made the environment tiring. As for the desserts, they were simply reheated in a microwave rather than freshly prepared, which felt unacceptable for a café. Overall, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in such a place, and I truly regret it.

We came in early July and had the most terrible experience. We ordered two bowls (which admittedly was meant to be shared between four people because we weren’t too hungry). I was surprised when the bowls came because they were both 80% rice with a little sauce on top and very little veggies/stuff. So, I called the waiter to ask if there was anything they could do to fix the situation. The waiter came, took a look at the bowls, then left without any explanation or attempt to remedy the situation. For info, the restaurant was not busy. Other than our table, there was one other table of two people. I waited for him to return but he didn’t. I called him over again and this time he brought the chef but again, they didn’t offer any solutions and left. I was stunned at this behavior so finally, I brought my bowl- untouched- back to the counter myself and told them I didn’t want it because it was not what I expected and they couldn’t/wouldn’t do anything to make it better. Long story short, the waiter became extremely aggressive and rude, acted like a petulant child and tried to force me to pay, going so far as threatening to call the police, simply because I wanted to return an uneaten, untouched bowl that I was unsatisfied with and for which they refused to do anything about even after I politely complained multiple times. This waiter has no business being a waiter, with his incredibly rude attitude and zero customer service abilities. I should mention that when we arrived, the tables were dirty despite the restaurant being relatively empty. There was no reason the waiter didnt have time to wipe the tables clean- he clearly just didn’t want to and/or was lazy, hated his job… Anyways, ultimately, the chef was nice, offered to add some additional sauce to the rice (which I declined because I was too angry to eat at this point), and in the end, the chef allowed my bowl to be returned and did not accept payment for the second bowl which my partner ate. All in all, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, driven by one terribly rude and unprofessional waiter who should be promptly fired. This waiter was a male, Moroccan man. He spoke French. I read through the other reviews because I was surprised to see so many positive reviews and I myself found this restaurant on a guide whose recommendations are always amazing (Time Out)- turns out, this restaurant had a recent change of ownership!!! That explains the previous positive reviews, and clearly, things have gone down hill based on the other 1-2 star reviews.

We heard from hotel staff this was a good restaurant, even though they were non- vegan. Quick summary: 4 of us went in hungry, ordered differently, and came out extremely sated/satisfied. Daria (the server) was lovely, patient, and guiding. Great food, sweet presentation, and reasonably priced. Couldn’t have been happier! Thank you, Daria and The Green Garden.

I recently visited this classic café and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and charming—perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. As a first time tourist to Vienna, I almost didn’t eat the Sachertorte as there’s so many reviews at famous coffee houses about how dry or not special it is. But after much reading, I found my way here and it made me like this cake a lot - the cake is tasty, apricot jam is lovely and you need to have the dollop of whip cream to balance it all out. I had every last bite except the chocolate was too sweet, but otherwise was absolutely delicious with no regrets! Staff is really friendly for a traditional coffee house.

Lovely traditionsl viennesse cafe and backery at the heart of old town. The cafe upstairsis very old style. They have all the famous Austrian cakes including the Sacher torte and Cremeschnitte. A very good and wide selection of coffees and teas. Their breakfast runs till 12pm every day and has good portion and selection too. Staffs are nice and friendly too. Definitely worth visit!

A nice, but overpriced spot to sit and relax in after sightseeing in Vienna. I ordered a Sacher torte and pot of tea, with the cake being €5.60 and the tea being €6.50. I don’t mind paying for good food but the cake was very dry and the chocolate ganache had a funny taste. In the end I couldn’t actually finish it. The tea was fine but why was it €6.50? Coming from a rip off country I am used to surcharges but wow I really feel like that was an insane amount of money to pay for a pot of hot water and a generic non labelled tea bag. So while service was quick and the vibe of the place is good and comfy, I obviously can’t recommend coming here.

We took peach strudel and the classic apple strudel. Both were great. The vanilla sauce that comes with it was delicious. I heard from the owner that they make it completely by hand. The owner was very polite and we had a good conversation. It's a small traditional place hidden in an alleyway. Highly recommend if you are visiting Regenburg to try out this place.

After having some excellent strudel while in Austria, I was on the lookout for promising options while in Germany. We quite literally came across this place on our way to see the Old Stone Bridge and I had to stop in. Good thing too! Not only was the apple/lebkuchen/cranberry strudel with warm vanilla sauce and coffee drinks delicious, we had a memorable connection with the owner. When we mentioned we are from Alabama, he said his father spent time in the 1960s working on the rocket program in Huntsville. That’s where we are from, so our visit was doubly blessed to hear his stories!

The owner was very kind and polite, which made the whole experience even better. We will surely be returning to test every strudel option they’ve available.

Adding my 5 Star Review! This is an amazing hotel with fantastic staff. We were warmly greeted by Atilla when we arrived & then he remembered us each day we stayed. It was a fantastic location for the Opera and our sightseeing plans. The breakfast is delicious and beautifully executed each morning. The bar area was a great place to convene with our family as we planned our next days.

I do not need to say any more about a hotel that was built to be a palace in the city. The hotel is being kept-up perfectly at that level, which is no easy task. What I find really impressive is the people working there who make a stay both a glorious experience, and at the same time give guests a very warm welcome feeling with ease from the heart, not with gestures like from some management-workshop. Especially the front desk always gave us a feeling of returning to a home-away-from-home. With different shifts they kept that up. Still, out of all those great people I'd especially like to mention Mrs. Baur and Mrs. Steinmetz, Mr. Ludewig who helped us tremendously, and Mrs. Elbasi. Everyone working for the team of the hotel gave the beautiful building its soul, but those four stood out even in that amazing team.

I hate to be writing this review as I looked forward to staying at Hotel Imperial for my wedding week last month in August. I’m still dealing with charges & authorizations on my credit card almost a month later. They have trainee’s who do not quite know what they are doing running the front desk. I had to move rooms in the middle of my stay, the day before my wedding because the upgrade they were meant to give me when I checked in, was given to me later when I checked into our getting ready suite. Even before my stay, I had requested a late check out for our getting ready suite - which I never have a problem getting as I have status with Marriott. They tried to charge me a ridiculous late check out fee & argued with me via email until they finally gave in. Everything else about this hotel was amazing, the rooms were spacious, the room service staff were impeccable. The front desk staff just really need to get it together. The week of my wedding was interrupted more than once by mistakes they had made. And then! On my honeymoon, they’re authorizing my card double for room service charges. I had to reach out multiple times to get an answer. I wasn’t going to write this review as I loved the rooms & the amenities but two days ago, I had another 1000€ pending charge on my card. When I reached out to inquire why, they said they had no idea why that happened. They quickly fixed it but why are they charging my card accidentally a month after my stay?? Unprofessional

My Husband & I stayed here for 2 nights in late September. The hotel was beautiful, the beds was very soft and comfortable. The staff were friendly & helpful. The location is great - walking distance to lots of great restaurants & opera. We got breakfast both mornings, there is an elevated breakfast buffet spread and you can also order a la cart.

I had higher expectations for this hotel and being a Marriott member. 1. Perhaps I'm comparing the hospitality to what I can get in other Bonvoy properties in Asia; but for a 5* hotel, I was surprised there was no mention of welcome as a Bonvoy member during the check-in. 2. The room provided has a faulty door knob in. Each time I tapped my card to enter the room, the door just wouldn't open. I had to try several times for it to finally work. Not the 5* hotel standard I expect. 3. In general, your staff was polite but lacking in warmth, almost seemingly stand-offish. The only warm and friendly person was the older hotel porter in stripe clothes that assisted us during our check out on 1 October. We never got his name, but he was the only one that probably embodied the spirit of hospitality. At least we hope the reception staff will change and will be less rude. Unbelievable. This hotel which is purportedly a luxury hotel should be shut down.

But if a customer askes you politely how long the food is still going to take and you response with: when it arrives. You're simply not doing the job right. I also got ignored when I tried to order or when I had a qquestion. When we finally had the food it was allright, when we finished the food we were already sitting there for over 2 hours and I asked if I could pay. Our waiter apperantely also was the boss of the whole alm, and he simply let us pay for our food and didn't mention anything about the long wait. He also let me pay 2,50euros for a big tap water. I asked him why, and he said we give it to you right!? I understand that every place has good and bad days, but this place ruined my whole day. If they would simple just had said sorry for the wait, it's busy today. I would have been happy. But to let costumers wait for almost 2hours, don't say anything about it and also ask them to pay for tap water.... I am not happy. Just no manners

Located on one of the picturesque central streets, it offers an ambience of the 19th century as you enter the shop. They offer a wide variety of tasty sweets, so go crazy in trying things out, but definitely save a spot for the famous Mozartkugel.

I relaxed and soaked in the old-world charm of the café while digging into a slice of chocolate cake and sipped on coffee. Great prices with delicious ice cream!

Exceptional gelato ice cream! You can tell it is home made and not mass produced. A great variety and value. staff are wonderful, I have heard the coffee is fantastic too but yet to try. Definitely go here if you are in Klagenfurt.

The ice cream is good. The place is popular. I get sick to my stomach, seeing how much plastic garbage this place produces. Many people buy ice cream cups or iced drinks here that are all served in plastic cups. Paper ones would at least be a little bit better for the environment. I would love to see more porcelain dishes when you order "for here"!

Overall was okay. For the amount of reviews and high rating, my expectations were high. Price was fair for the area. But it was not something special (for us). On wednesday, in january, at lunch time, all restaurants closed, we entered this “backerei-konditorei” hoping in maybe a sandwich or a piece of cake. The room was nice and elegant, the list was short but not at all only sandwiches: all we tried was very tasty and well prepared. We had goulaschsuppe, heringsalad, ham and vegetables quiche, apfelstrudel. Staff friendly and attentive. Generous portions. A surprise

Sometimes all stars align, and instead of just a shadow, one gets a taste of the ideal thing from Plato's cave. This was one such revelatory experience: the ideal cake exists! It is made in Lienz, it is pink and delicious! It is called Punschwürfel and will make you smile for days. Highly recommended!

The worst service we had so far in Austria. There was dog at the next table, and whenever waitress came to serve us, she rolled her eyes and acted very annoyed because dog was slightly in the way. The dog was lovely and very well behaved. If you are not welcoming to animals, then put sign up at the entrance. Her mood totally ruined everything. Both us and next table felt very uncomfortable by this. We also asked if we could receive the receipt together with drinks, since we were short on time and limited by bus departure. Waitress again rolled her eyes like we were such a burden. Why is she a waitress? Zero hospitality, a real shame.

This place has a wide variety of Ice-Cream flavors and also good choices of the scoop sizes. We tried Passion Fruit, Pistachio & Mango which were also good. They have lot of options in chocolate ice cream and fruit flavored ice creams. One suggestion would be if they can have the Menu for Customer that would be good because there was a long queue and we got very little time to choose our flavors. If we got the Menu earlier we could have decided which flavors we want to get without rushing.

Delicious and reasonably priced gelato (2,2 eur). Flavours are slightly less intense and rich than that in Italy, but overall still a very solid gelato for a hot day. Expect long queues, about 5 to 10 minutes at least as they are very popular!

Probably the beat gelato i have tasted during my europe trip that lasted for 2 weeks. There were ample of flavours to choose from. Price were very reasonable as well. 1 scoop was 2.2, 2 scoops 4.1 and 3 for 5.90. Pricing is the same for all flavours, and the same for cone/ cup. I chose pistachio, hazelnut and nutella. Pistachio was the best among the flavours i have chosen.

Tried a poppy seed gelato for the first time with a mango. The pair went very well. Quite the queue which attracted me 😅

A very popular ice-cream parlour in the heart of the old town of Innsbruck. On a hot summers day, this is a nice cooling treat. I visited recently in Aug 2024 and stumbled across this place and judging from the queue decided we would get an ice cream. The choice to choose from is mesmerising, there are so many different flavours and combinations to choose from. I chose White Chocolate/Pistachio and a scoop of Nutella - the ice cream was smooth, creamy. Absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend ice-cream from here. Good quality ice-cream!

The cakes look better than they taste. They were too watery and not of the quality I expected at the price. The sauce for the ham and cheese toast cost nearly 1 euro extra and the waitress didn't tell me beforehand. Topped off with the staff lacking common courtesy, not even uttering a basic greeting, I don't recommend this establishment at all.

What a charming place. If passing on this village, this is a must for coffee and cakes. Indoor and outdoor setting. Outside on the square you overlook the church, and get a nice breeze. The manager was so welcoming (as we enter the shop with our travel bags) and understanding. Service was impeccable and the cakes beautifully presented and really tasty. Worth the walk from the station to here. Excellent English spoken.

There were five people in our group. The order was delivered in three batches. There were two mistakes out of the five orders. When we wanted to pay, we eventually had to go inside to look for someone to take the money. They did not have enough staff for the amount of guests. I really hope that this was an exception.

A lovely and creative family runs this amazing chocolate business. Their museum is fun, tasty, and full of sweet surprises, definitely worth a visit!

I visited during the Nacht des Genusses event, which included a free behind-the-scenes tour of the chocolate making. In addition to the free samples (of excellent quality), I have been very lucky to get an individual tour by one of the employees - which leads to the next point, the employees are very friendly. I also definitely recommend the product, it's prepared professionally and with creativity in mind.

Great breakfast spot if you are a bread person (rye bun was very good) with a view of the mountains. Useful to load up on carbs before the ascent to the castle ruins.

Service is very friendly. However they took way too many reservations, such that I even had cappuccino withoit coffee and my friend salad without salmon althouth she wanted with salmon. Additionally, we had too wait 10min to be seated despite we made a reservation.

I’ve just bought a scoop of mango and chocolate ice cream here and it is delicious. The mango tastes just like creamy frozen mango pulp and the chocolate was yummy too. I was served by a lovely young boy/man who was friendly and courteous. Well recommended.

Trending yoghurt based ice cream 🍦 with different toppings and sauces. It is fresh and delicious, there are several servers and they do it fast, they do it with a smile. There is a queue usually but it moves fast. Card payment is accepted.

Very friendly staff and great yogurt. Not too sour for me. The shop is located just behind the building of Mozart Birthplace. There are seats outside the shop . Just inform the staff the number corresponding to the yogurt you like as shown on the display board. The strawberry and raspberry sauce favour in number 1 is my choice.

Frozen yoghurt at it's finest! This place is very popular situated in the heart of Salzburg old town. The queues are crazy on a weekend, especially if the weather is warm! It's a small space inside, however the turn around is very quick. Credit to the staff here, who are all very friendly and efficient. There is seating available outside but can be limited when busy. The small size is very generous and served up more than enough! However, if you have space for more, the medium and large will be up your tree! They offer an extensive range of toppings, including fresh fruit. The caramel sauce is amazing! If you are feeling adventurous, add extra toppings for a more lavish experience! Keep up the great work and excellent customer service!

Great ice cream! It’s Austria’s first sheep milk ice cream shop. Of course because it’s homemade the flavour selection is not too big. However it was delicious and creamy. Only cash payments possible!

The ice cream here is absolutely delightful — smooth, silky, and rich in flavor. Every bite feels like a sweet indulgence worth savoring. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the service. The person serving was moody and came across as angry and aggressive, which took away from the joy of enjoying such a lovely treat. It felt almost ironic — such a sweet dessert presented with such a sour attitude. If you’re stopping by, the ice cream is definitely worth it, but be prepared that the service may not match the quality of what’s in your cone.

Very terrible staff, the desserts are not tasty, when I asked the waiter to come over he showed me the middle finger, they completely ignore your requests, the place is awful, and the toilet is terrible too.

In this place, there is a completely ridiculous rule: "if you buy ice cream, you're not allowed to sit at a table." My wife was waiting for the rest of the family to arrive and bought herself some ice cream. There are five of us, and we could easily have spent around €150 here, but she was forbidden to sit at a table with her ice cream. Friends, this is nonsense. You have a great café, but such an attitude towards customers is unacceptable.

We went to the cafe with my girlfriend, we bought ice cream but the rude woman whom was the owner of the cafe she said we cannot seat and have our ice cream there while everyone else was eating ice cream! Very unfriendly lady at the cash register only speaking Italian and whatever the tries saying feels like a military command. Only cash (which always feel like they’re enjoying black money as nowadays depositing cash is more expensive than a card transaction) and when you’re not having any you’re frowned upon and make you feel like you’re wasting their time. I’d suggest you take your business to where it’s appreciated. Enough great ice parlors around this one.

The place itself is very nice and designed beautifully. Good variety of different bakery goods (and I especially recommend the cakes). Cappuccino is very bad (they don't know how to prepare a coffee, I suggest sending the personnel for a short coffee making course. Definitely the best coffee shop and desserts place in Ischgl. With good coffee, wide variety of delicious and beautiful cakes, and fresh pastries. Today I ordered panini with tomatoes. I received a burger without meat. While paying the bill, I asked to be billed as for a burger. The lady refused me. It was said that the panini bread was over. It's a pity no one mentioned it sooner. The burger bread has different allergens than the panini.

They are very unfriendly and rude at the food stand here. Update: beyond horrible! Very mean and careless. We are eating here and they spray and clean their glass boxes. It’s like come on, I am eating here and you are spraying your chemicals!

Pretzels were soft and tasty, however the seller didn't seem to be very nice, acted very bored and unhappy with our presence answered very briefly to questions about offered pretzels. Pretzel with prosciutto and cheese could be served with at least with some butter inside, what could prevent the cheese and ham from falling out of it completly. Overall I would recommend...

Like others, I found this place disappointing. The pretzels were at best average and were completely cold. Even after sharing the pretzel with my wife and daughter, we threw away more than half of it, since no one wanted to eat it.

Friendliest breakfast place around here. It's a small town with not a lot of choices and I've tried the others but i still keep coming back here because it's just nice. Well lit, all fresh, and the people are kind and cool. Payment with card work, English speaking works, toilets are working, and so is the wifi. No reason to not come here over and over for coffee and omelette

Wonderful food! My husband and I had the Viennes Breakfast and the Herzhaftes Breakfast. Personally, the Herzhaftes was the best breakfast I've had in Austria so far. Very friendly people and accommodating to English speaking tourists. Definitely a wonderful spot!

Nice bakery with a convenient system! I go there 3 to 4 times a week to grab lunch and drinks. The tray system is super handy – you pick what you want, pay, and then either take it to go or enjoy it on-site. The place has a modern, clean look, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I really enjoy stopping by for a quick and easy meal. Highly recommend it if you're looking for fresh, tasty food!

What an absolute gem of a place! We sampled a range of their vegetarian sandwiches and all of them were absolutely delicious! The bread was soft, chewy and full of flavor and all of the ingredients (from vegetables to cheese to eggs) were fresh and of great quality. The blueberry muffin was even delightful - freshly baked and stuffed with blueberries! Honestly cannot fault this place. Super quick self serve process and extraordinary prices and value. And what's better? You can take the food out to the riverside and enjoy it there. 10/10 experience!

Great self-service bakery. It's not a traditional bakery but it is good. It's basically like Austrian Greggs but better quality and nicer atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable as well. You can eat in or take away. There's room to seat about 12 people. Very good spot to load up on an extensive selection of both sweet and savoury baked goods as well as bread rolls (if you wanted to make a sandwich later on) if you plan to go out for the day. They also have self service coffee machines and a fridge cabinet with salads, yoghurts and soft drinks. You'll need to grab a tray and a paper sheet, even if you plan on taking away, and then you'll be given bags at the till. Staff were very friendly.

I stumbled upon this Cafe and coffee house while looking for something warm.Salzburg has been very cold this week and this morning we have had rain and snow. The latte is warm and sweet. The best in my opinion is the Frittatensuppe. Wonderful flavors The Knoblauchsuppe is also warm and flavorful Definitely a return spot for me. Bread and sweets for the sweet.

If you are early birds, this place opens since 6.30 am (6.30 - 22.00 daily). The staff are very friendly, they say hello to me when I step in the cafe. Friendly is the key word I look for on the review. I ordered scramble egg with ham, thus it is as what as exoected. However, I really like my cappucino. It smells and tastes good, especially in the rainning morning, and it comes with a glass of water!! Very grateful for this nice service.

Had coffee and the best Apfelstudel known to man served by lovely staff. Highly recommended

They didn’t have anything we wanted. We wanted ice cream which was on the menu and the lady told us they didn’t have ice cream on a very hot day. When we told her we wanted something else she said the only food she had was inside so the only thing she has were a few cakes and bread which tasted old and not good

Absolutely not worth it. Portions where small and nothing like described. A half pint of apple juice is €4.30 which is crazy! Just super unimpressed with the price considering the quality of the breakfast was so poor.

Very nice place to have breakfast or brunch. Coffee and hot chocolate was also good. Very friendly and nice staff. Service was quick. Highly recommended place for breakfast in Salzburg.

I don't recommend it at all!!! They service is awful they made mistakes three times to brings us our breakfast and after that the tee was cold the eggs also...
