Cafe
Located in a charming side street of the historic center, Strudel Cafe Kroll exudes a sense of history with its original vault and ancient exposed walls. The cafe is renowned for its creative culinary offerings, particularly its wide selection of strudels. While the traditional apple filling is a staple, the cafe also serves up over a dozen interpretations featuring ingredients such as meat, vegetables, cheese, and mushrooms.
A Must-Try Strudel Heaven in Innsbruck! Absolutely loved my visit to Kröll Strudel-Café! This charming spot offers an impressive variety of strudels — from classic sweet apple strudel to savory delights like ham and cheese. Everything was freshly baked and full of flavor. I also tried their cakes, which were equally fabulous. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better. Whether you’re craving something sweet or savory, this place is a must-try when you’re in Innsbruck!
JJ — Google review
Tried the apple strudel and poppyseed plum strudel. The pastry itself is very good - thin but robust. The apple one was nice, but there was additional filling and the texture of the nuts inside was not to my taste. The poppyseed one tasted too bitter and too sweet to the extent I didn't want to finish it. The young lady who served me was nice. Overall it was OK - overrated and overpriced.
NT P — Google review
I came to this place because they were supposed to have gluten free strudel. They did not. They only have one gluten free bread. The normal strudel was fine, but it is served without any sauce (it costs extra). 10€ for one plain strudel and a piece of bread is not fine.
Sara — Google review
we went here because in the menu it said that there are gluten-free cakes and strudel and also vegan strudel. I’m celiac so I was quite excited, but there sadly weren’t any gluten-free strudel, which was okay tho because they had gluten-free cake. Sadly I’ve never eaten such a bad cake so I was quite disappointed (also not cheap, one pice of gluten-free cake was 6.40). The not gluten-free options that my friends are were really good tho, the vegan option as well. So if you look for gluten-free food I can’t recommend it, otherwise it’s nice.
Clara S — Google review
It is a small place so it can be packed real quick but we got lucky and got a table outside. Inside is small and when it’s full of people the air can be bad. So I recommend the outside seating where you can see the beautiful street of Innsbruck old city. The coffee was ohkay but the strudel was really tasty!
Sayaka K — Google review
It was very very tasty!!!! Very big choice of strudels, as sweet as salt. I try classic with apple and with rhabarber. We will return for sure because we need to try a lot of things more! And the staff is very fast and kind!
Marina B — Google review
The price on vitrine (5.80) was different when we sat for order (6.40). I assumed it was because of the service. Overall, was good, however the taste could be better, considering the price.
Neeghar İ — Google review
This place has a wide variety of the famous Austrian Desserts & food options. We tried the Sacher Torte and Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce and both the desserts were nice. It's a cozy place located on the Maria Theresa Street next to the Golden Roof so the environment is quite vibrant and lively.

Cafe
Café Sacher Wien is a quintessential Austrian café located in the heart of Vienna, offering a typical Viennese coffee-house atmosphere and the opportunity to indulge in an Original Sacher-Torte. The café boasts a rich history, situated near Vienna's opulent opera house and adorned with elegant décor. Its signature dessert, the Sacher Torte, is a decadent dark-chocolate cake with a layer of tangy apricot jam, served with whipped cream.
Visiting Café Sacher in Munich was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the elegant, classic atmosphere—it feels truly special. I had their famous Sacher-Torte, and it was absolutely divine: rich, perfectly moist chocolate cake with a smooth layer of apricot jam. The coffee complemented it beautifully, and every detail, from the presentation to the service, felt top-notch. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. This isn’t just a café; it’s a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates fine desserts, quality coffee, and a touch of luxury. I can’t wait to return!
Webman T — Google review
We visited Cafe Sacher Wien as a tourist ‘must do’ on our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Vienna. After a short queue we were invited upstairs and found a great table. The ambiance and decor of the cafe are fabulous. The cake and coffee while expensive were also great. What let the cafe down was the truly awful and entitled attitude of the waiters / waitresses. It took about twenty minutes to get served. The order arrived quickly, however I had to ask three times for milk for a pot of tea. I also asked four times for the bill and when it still had not arrived after 30 minutes I went up to the counter to pay. The waiter was brisk and rude throughout and did not get a tip! On leaving we noticed there was a huger queue which could have been moved through the cafe quicker with better service.
Nathan H — Google review
This café is for you if you enjoy a condescending and inattentive service, albeit in a nice historical setting. There is often a long queue outside, however when we were sat upstairs, the floor was half-empty. Perhaps this is to create a sense of exclusivity or the service is simply lacking efficiency (as highlighted in other reviews). We came here for a meal and the cake. The server made it his mission to make this experience as awkward as possible. To start, he came across as quite rude and condescending. He proceeded to knock over one of our glasses, without apologising or cleaning up the contents on the table. The attention to detail was poor, as he forgot to bring the spoons for the soup, and the butter for the breads (we never got the butter). This is despite multiple reminders. Apart from that, the main attraction - Sachertorte - was nothing more than an average chocolate cake. We have had it plenty of times before in Salzburg and simply wanted to try it in the original location. Overall, I am aware that this review won’t stop tourists from visiting the café, but it would be a shame if their experience is tarnished by the same level of service we received. Hopefully they are able to make some much needed improvements to match the more pleasant experience we received in Sacher Salzburg Café, which would be fitting of this historical establishment.
Oleksandra G — Google review
A beautiful, classy, ornate setting to try the famous sacher torte. The cake itself is nice but nothing special. However, as an experience it is a great thing to do as a tourist. We had lovely waitress too who was so friendly and nice.
Aimee S — Google review
A too much hyped Café but reality doesn't meet the expectations at all. Everything was mediocre at best. They were polite but a bit cold. Υou will wait outside to be called even early in the morning when there is no-one else waiting. You will sit wherever they tell you even when every table is empty. Coffee and famous Sachertorte are very average and they are definitely not worth the money. On the good side the interior is really classy. I would not recommend it.
Panagiotis T — Google review
Cons: 1 - There was a large option of coffee, but the selection of pastries was limited. 2 - We did not find the service attentive or friendly. We don‘t need to chat or make small talk, but a smile is way better than some staring, I am a client here, I m not asking for some favor. 3 - It took them a long time to clean the tables even though there was a long line outside. Pro: the cake was good
Matheus S — Google review
Dry cake and slow service - not worth the hype. Unfortunately I think this place survives on its history and social media fame. We paid 23€ for the driest Sacher torte we had in Austria and a black tea. Service was extremely slow. The only gluten free option is the esterhazy torte and they had none left. The only redeeming factor that earnt it 2 stars was the hot chocolate and ice chocolate.
Bella C — Google review
The coffee Sacher is overrated. The Sacher cake was indeed dry as described. We still don’t get why the chocolate cake is that famous. We have tasted better elsewhere. The service is good, staff are amazing at service you and making your coffee! Talented team.

Demel is a historic Viennese pastry shop and chocolaterie that has been serving delectable treats since 1786. Located near the Hofburg palace, this elegant salon offers a charming ambiance with a shady terrace. The interior boasts spacious lounges where you can indulge in specialties like cream cakes, scones, and strudels. One of their must-try dishes is the Kaiserschmarrn, caramelized Austrian pancakes served with plum compote.
This café is incredibly beautiful and definitely worth a visit if you're in Vienna. Inside there's several rooms of treats, cakes, pastries, etc., as well as a cafe up the stairs. There's also a window for take-away traditional pancakes. The whole café smells amazing and they have beautifully boxed treats to buy as a gifts, as well as the famous sachertorte in the traditional wooden box, which you can buy in different sizes. Even if you don't sit for a coffee it's worth a visit just to see the interior!
Kriti C — Google review
Café Demel is like stepping straight into Vienna’s sweet history! This legendary café has been around for centuries and still feels as elegant and charming as ever. The interior is a mix of classic Viennese style and timeless luxury, making it the perfect spot to enjoy coffee and some of the best pastries in the city. One of my favorite parts? The shop section – where you can pick up chocolates, cakes, and all kinds of beautifully packaged treats to take home (or just eat on the way!). Everything feels special here – from the craftsmanship of the desserts to the atmosphere that blends tradition with a hint of royal charm. Yes, it can be busy, but that’s part of the experience – it’s Demel after all. If you want to taste a piece of Vienna’s sweet heritage, this is the place.

Went to the cafe and just wanted to say Elke was such an amazing and cheerful staff. From the moment she sat us down all the way till we left, and even to other customers around us too. She made our experience at the cafe better than we expected. Staff were super friendly, the food and atmosphere were great. Eating here made our experience in Vienna more memorable! Many thanks to Elke and the other amazing staff and chefs!

Huge line to seat in the cafe so I just got the Kaiserschmarrn for take away. It was super delicious and one of the best sweets I’ve had in Vienna. It’s a bit expensive but I think it worth it to try it when you are in Vienna. The store is also very beautiful itself and you can buy souvenirs. 💯 Great experience
Behnam — Google review
The place looks really nice with a charming, antique atmosphere. We were lucky to arrive about 30 minutes before opening, as a queue started forming very quickly! Through the window, you can even watch the chef preparing Austrian pancakes, which adds a lovely authentic touch. The service was simple and fast, which we really appreciated. We ordered the Sacher and Kaiserschmarrn. The Sacher was excellent — when it arrived, I expected it to be dry or the chocolate too hard, but it was quite the opposite: moist cake and soft, rich chocolate. The Kaiserschmarrn were also very tasty, with hot and delicious plum jam on the side. To drink, we had a cappuccino, which had a nice, rich coffee flavor and perfectly frothy milk. Overall, it was a great experience — delicious food, cozy ambiance, and quick service. I would definitely recommend this place! ☕🍰
Serge R — Google review
Pricey but an experience. A short wait as seats with multiple floors. Anna cake was good but tasted like normal chocolate cake. Hot chocolate was indulgent and chocolatey. The pancakes were fluffy although not very hot or warm and didn’t have enough plum sauce to go with it Waitress was friendly and smiley. Toilets available.
Jennifer C — Google review
Demel’s Kaiserschmarrn is famous for its fluffy texture and caramelized sweetness. Once beloved by Emperor Franz Joseph, this imperial pancake served with powdered sugar and fruit compote embodies the elegance and charm of Viennese café culture. It is recommended to make a reservation. There was already a long queue at 10 am that day. The email address on the website is invalid.
SOFIA C — Google review
This historic coffee house in Vienna is an absolute delight — a perfect blend of tradition, charm, and elegance. Open since 1786, it carries the authentic spirit of old Vienna, where time seems to slow down with every sip of coffee. The coffee is exceptional, rich and aromatic, just as you’d expect in a true Viennese café. The selection of homemade sweets and pastries is simply divine — from classic Sachertorte to delicate apple strudel, every bite is perfection. The ambience is cozy and elegant, with a timeless charm that makes you feel part of Vienna’s history. The staff are polite, attentive, and welcoming, adding to the warm and refined experience. If you love good coffee, fine desserts, and historic atmosphere, this café is a must-visit in Vienna. A perfect place to relax, indulge, and enjoy a taste of Viennese tradition. ☕️🍰🇦🇹

Café Landtmann is a renowned Vienna café and restaurant located near several city attractions. The interior features a series of interconnected rooms with cozy seating options, creating a bustling and cosmopolitan atmosphere. The café has been frequented by famous figures such as Sigmund Freud, Marlene Dietrich, Romy Schneider, Paul McCartney, and Hillary Clinton. It offers sophisticated desserts in an opulent setting adorned with wood-paneled walls and old-fashioned lights.
The assortment of cakes and sweets here is incredible. I prefer it to Cafe Central to be honest. We did not have a reservation and were promptly seated. The ambiance was lovely. I had the Mozart Torte and it was divine. By the time we made it here, it was our last night. I wish I could have come back again to try more cakes. Delicious and highly recommended!

Elegant & refined old school grand cafe. We booked here for lunch after our historical walking tour and it was the perfect spot to relax & absorb all the amazing history we’d just learnt. Firstly the indoor seating area is just beautiful and so elegant and stylish. Secondly the service was excellent- super friendly and welcoming. Thirdly, the food was superb- they have a wonderful all-day menu. Very traditional Austrian food. The sausage plate was utterly delicious, as was the potato salad. The grand finale was the cakes - wow, the glass cake cabinet is lined with one beautiful cake after another. And perfectly paired on a hot summers day with an ice coffee. Perfection. Make sure you book in advance. Highly recommended.
Gustav — Google review
I’m sure that most of the time, the service is great. However, we went there as a group of five and for some reason “the kitchen confused our order with another table so they thought they have made it already”… We waited for 50 minutes for a breakfast… When we got the food, it was very good, with beautiful esthetics-we enjoyed it. Hopefully it won’t happen next time I visit Vienna 🫡

It is recommended to make an reservation online as there are many people queuing! Vienna’s coffeehouses are known as the city’s elegant living rooms, where time flows slowly and conversations flourish. Beloved by writers, artists, and intellectuals, these cafés offer a refined space for reflection and dialogue. A cup of Wiener Melange, the city’s signature coffee blend of espresso and frothy milk, perfectly embodies this graceful tradition of culture, comfort, and contemplation.

Café Landtmann is a beautiful spot in the heart of Vienna, known for its elegant, traditional Austrian interior. The atmosphere feels timeless and charming, making it a perfect place to relax and soak in Viennese café culture. Their coffee and cakes are exceptional — especially the classic tortes — which explains why both locals and tourists love coming here. It’s not just a café, it’s a piece of Vienna’s history.

Café Landtmann in Vienna is a historic and iconic Viennese coffee house that opened in 1873. The Landtmann is a cultural landmark. The Café Landtmann is known as Vienna’s “living room,” where visitors feel both at home and part of a timeless cafe tradition. The café combines charming old-world elegance with a refined modern outlook, including an outdoor terrace and a winter garden. I even had to check my jacket before entering. It has long been a favorite intellectual stop of luminaries such as Sigmund Freud and Gustav Mahler, and remains a popular meeting place for locals and travelers alike. I ordered a double espresso and a Viennese apple strudel with vanilla cream sauce. However, there are many delicious options. Café Landtmann is a Viennese experience to not miss!
Joe B — Google review
We were very lucky to be seated in the sun, outside, on a Saturday in October in less than 15min. The Esterhazy cake tasted great though the Sachertorte was dry. Coffee is good. The main point about this place is the history and elegance / chic interiors.
HC — Google review
Great atmosphere, but the drinks arrived mostly cold and the apfelstrudel specially the cream do not feel fresh or perfectly made to be at the same level of the café. - The biggest offender: please do not ask for tips in Europe, it is an insult to the culture, and to the customer. Specially since we, as students, were treated differently and ignored for further orders when declined tipping. This change in behaviour is unprofessional, please consider these points because I want to come back to this lovely place again for my anniversary.

Café Hofburg is a charming café located within the Imperial Palace in Vienna. It's situated amidst several attractions, making it a convenient stop for visitors exploring the area. The café is known for its exceptional Wiener Melange and delicious cakes, which are highly recommended by patrons. While some find it to be on the pricier side, others appreciate the beautiful setting and attentive service provided by the handsome waitstaff.
One of my favorite places. I don't usually drink coffee (actually, I almost never do), but the Wiener Melange they serve is out of this world. I have never tasted a better coffee and I really wish to go back there as soon as possible just to have a taste of it again. I could drink that coffee every single day. The cakes are also simply delicious, so I would overall recommend this place to anyone. It is located in a rather busy but interesting spot in the city! I cannot wait to visit again🤞

Very beautiful place. The waiters are handsome and very helpful. Delicious cakes and drinks make me happy 😃. It was so cold over there, so I decided to go to the Cafe. I enjoy eating delicious Zacher. Munis is only that it’s expensive cafes, but location is really good.

Food was great, but overpriced. The iced coffee was so incredibly rich! I absolutely loved it, but I know it is probably too sweet for most. I tried their fluffy pancake like dessert, which was good but attracted bees to my table :(

After a long walk in the cold from Christmas market to Christmas market we needed a warm place to get back to normal. We stepped into Hofburg. It is a nice place. Very busy, so we had to queue up before we were seated. We took a soup and later a white wine. Prices are to high. Service was good.

Visited here twice on my short trip to Salzburg. The first time, had to grab some coffees and breakfast to go. Got the oat cappuccino and vegan porridge and was a great start to my day. The staff were super nice too! The second time, I was able to enjoy a casual breakfast on a Sunday morning and my partner and I had a very pleasant time. Got the vegan delight breakfast and heart of joy sandwich with oat cappuccinos and the spread was beautiful and super tasty. Everyone was having a nice time that morning. Will miss this place ❤️

I'm back! Love this happy place inside or outside. I missed eating rice so ordered the curry. This time without the salad. It was just right. Great service, nice chat with my server. Great vegan fare. Guten Apetit!

There is nothing exceptional about The Heart of Joy. However, all the items we tried were good. Plus the atmosphere is very relaxed and 'clean', for want of a better word. I'd ordered what I think was their flagship salad. It was good, I got my veggie portions and then some, but it wasn't particularly memorable. Ditto with my wife's rice and curry. Good but not great. My little one's tomato mozzarella sandwich was the best of the lot.

Walk in and you are met with warm smiles and calm music. The menu has great choices. My husband and I were here for breakfast on a Sunday. I had the porridge which is a yummy and generous soze. They also have nice vegetarian and vegan options. Something for everyone. It is very popular, so walk ins should be fairly early, otherwise reservations are a good idea.

Café Munding is a charming and well-preserved establishment located in the heart of Innsbruck's Old Town. This historic pastry shop has been serving customers since 1803, offering a quaint setting with old-world charm, timber booths, and large picture windows overlooking the ancient square. The café features an extensive selection of cakes and a variety of coffee options to savor.
I have a high standard for hot chocolate. When I saw that here, they made hot chocolate of Valrhona brand, I got super excited. And it almost lived up to my expectations. I would reduce the amount of milk to get the proper thickness, but the taste is good. Desserts, we tried, were tasty as well: pistachio profiterole (not sure how exactly it was called) was exceptionally good.

Very busy little coffee shop but with plenty of seating available. The menu is mostly coffee and 3 or so breakfast or lunch items and some cakes available from the front area. The service was not very friendly or welcoming but was fast and efficient. We had Apfelstrudel wich was sadly not my taste. They have clean toilets on the first floor.

Atmosphere was really nice but we couldnt find a seat. I was craving hot chocolate so i went to get it here as it was well reviewed. However, i did not enjoy the hot chocolate. If you’re a fan of rich hot chocolate that resembles molten chocolate - thick and rich and tastes like melted chocolate with some milk/cream, then the hot chocolate from here isnt for you! The hot chocolate from here tastes more like milo + milk. Or cocoa powder with milk and sugar rather than melted chocolate in milk. Kind of like swissmiss made with cream/whipped cream. The taste of milk and sugar is more overpowering than that of chocolate. So if you’re someone who doesnt like dark chocolate or hot chocolate that is too rich, this will be up your alley!

The oldest coffee place in Innsbruck and a must visit! The cakes are simply delightful. AND: everything is 100 % vegetarian (no gelatin)... and a lot of glutenfree options. Friendly staff and nice old-fashioned interior! A perfect place for breakfast or an afternoon coffee, just wow.

Oldest cafe in Innsbruck and it’s decor is definitely very classic. The cakes are pretty and nice, but the soup is just average. Service is good and the place is often crowded. Worth a visit for coffee as it has a very impressive menu. We also liked their hot chocolate.

Cafe Katzung is a laid-back cafe known for its classic German and Austrian comfort food, as well as a variety of coffee and desserts. Situated in the heart of the historic center, it offers one of the best views of the Goldenes Dachl from its front terrace. The interior has been recently renovated to feature a more modern and streamlined decor, with wooden floors and a color scheme of pale green and cream.
Decent cafe with tasty food, although i wouldn't say the food is extraordinarily delicious. Had the apple strudel with vanilla sauce, and smoked salmon on toast.

Great place!!! The service and atmosphere was amazing. We had Sachertorte and cafe latte. That's amazing cake.

I tried their breakfast “Wie der Franzose”, Zwetschgenkuchen (Plum cake) and Verlängerter Coffee. Everything was super delicious, environment was chill and staffs are super friendly. Obviously recommended if you’re visiting Innsbruck.

A coffee and pastry shop in the best location of old town. We only had coffees which were great just a bit on the small side. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Prices are on the higher end but it's tourist central and to be expected.

A very beautiful cafe in heart of Innsbruck. They have variety of drinks to choose from and desserts too. They have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The staff is very friendly. We took there inhouse made dessert and really liked it.

Disgusting serving of strudel, ice cream is additionally included in the bill. Average quality strudel. Ordered 2 teapots of tea, extra charge for each empty cup. Bank cards are not accepted. Waiters did not warn about anything in advance. Then they looked away. I do not recommend spoiling the impression of the city by visiting this place.

Beautiful place to chill or having some sweets. Cakes look amazing. The ice cream tasted so good too! Especially the pistachio ice cream. But for the banana split, the banana wasn’t sweet, it would be great if it was sweet. Overall a lovely experience to dine there. Lovely and friendly service as well

Bad interaction with waiter. 4 of us ordered 2 pastries and wanted to order one more after we finished. The waiter was inflexible and rude - he insisted we order some drinks. There were some empty tables so we are not sure why he had to insist. This felt unwelcome so we left.

The Sigmund Freud Museum is a tribute to the life and work of the renowned father of psychoanalysis. Housed in an elegant building not far from Vienna's historic Hofburg district, this museum offers a glimpse into Freud's personal and professional life. Visitors can explore his former practice and private quarters, which served as the family home for nearly five decades.
Wonderfully leisurely perusal of all rooms, all displays. An illuminating visit. Just seeing some of the lukewarm, or negative reviews. Best to ignore. If you’re interested in psychoanalysis, if you’re interested in Freud, if you’re interested in the intellectual and cultural vitality of a bygone Vienna, you will find the museum as we did: fascinating.
Tim T — Google review
Very interesting to learn about Freud. But you should be patient to read texts about him and his work rather than seeing exposed materials which are limited. Anyways I think visiting this museum is something to do for general culture. Please don't bring your kids since it might be boaring for them
Alain T — Google review
A very interesting museum in Vienna! I appreciated this so much esp as a professional working with children. Been reading about Freud for years and it’s amazing to see his actual place and belongings. There are a lot of interactive areas too. Bought a coaster from the shop.
Bea S — Google review
the museum is a piece of history and well worth a visit...especially for those people who thought they knew him and his family. we enjoyed our time. You can walk room by room and you will read the history and see the artifacts of the time. Unfortunately, all the walls have been painted over, so it is just a shade of white and there is no furniture in any spaces.
Anthony K — Google review
Ok Museum if you were curious about what Freud had as wallpaper and his antique figurines. There are info plaque to read about Freuds work but not very comprehensive and sort of randomly put together with unfinished stories. I went in the fall and it eas very busy not sure there would be much room to read all the info in peak tourist season. Exhibits need to be recurated maybe start with a 10 min video giving an overview of his career and then focus on some of his work supporters and critiques and maybe some guest artist on the theme. After this vist I lost any interest in Freud and his work, you see how shelter a life he mostly lived his life in this building and I start to wonder did he really have the life experience to fully comprehend the mind.

Highly recommend a visit. It was wonderful to be in the apartment were Freud did his work. Very spacious and well worth the 20 euros. A nice coffee shop at the ground floor, coffee was great.

Café Central, also known as "The Central," is a popular spot in Gilmstrasse for a relaxed breakfast experience. With its Viennese ambiance, including large chandeliers and old furniture, it has been a favorite Sunday chillout spot for locals for years. The café offers a variety of dishes such as the Café Central soup and traditional Austrian pancakes called Kaiserschmarrn.
quaint breakfast spot in the heart of insbruck, ordered cappuccino, small and french breakfast paid around 14 euros. Food was warm and fresh and was delivered to us quickly. The window spots are unique never seen anywhere. The design of the restaurant is very antique and provides a perfect ambiance for couples.

A must when visiting Innsbruck. It’s the oldest café in the city, with a traditional and classic interior that is both spectacular and welcoming at the same time. We went for breakfast and were impressed by the huge variety of options, from more than ten types of coffee to pastries, as well as hot breakfast dishes like eggs or bacon. The food is delicious, the coffee excellent, and the portions just right. Prices are very competitive and the service is fast and efficient. Without a doubt, my favorite spot in Innsbruck to have breakfast or enjoy a good coffee.

I visited Café Central to try their desserts and ordered the Kaiserschmarrn and the apple pie. The apple pie was disappointing. On top of that, the staff were not friendly at all. Overall, it was far below my expectations.
Zumra — Google review
Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The service was poor, with staff that appeared inattentive and unprofessional. The place was not clean, and our table was never cleared after the previous guests. The atmosphere was also unpleasant – there was no music, only constant noise coming from the kitchen, which made the environment tiring. As for the desserts, they were simply reheated in a microwave rather than freshly prepared, which felt unacceptable for a café. Overall, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in such a place, and I truly regret it.

Vegetarian restaurant
The Green Garden in Salzburg is a top choice for vegans and vegetarians seeking a break from traditional meat-heavy Austrian cuisine. This modern, bright restaurant offers an array of delectable options such as towering meat-free burgers, cauliflower tacos, falafel wraps, and vegan ice cream. The menu also features dishes like summer rolls, truffle tortellini, and tasty Buddha bowls made with locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
We ate Rösti mit Pilzrahmsauce and orange chicken, and to share Baba Ganoush. We are both not vegan and we were amazingly surprised on how good the dishes were! The Service is really nice and warm. For sure we will repeat!!!

Karin K — Google review
We came in early July and had the most terrible experience. We ordered two bowls (which admittedly was meant to be shared between four people because we weren’t too hungry). I was surprised when the bowls came because they were both 80% rice with a little sauce on top and very little veggies/stuff. So, I called the waiter to ask if there was anything they could do to fix the situation. The waiter came, took a look at the bowls, then left without any explanation or attempt to remedy the situation. For info, the restaurant was not busy. Other than our table, there was one other table of two people. I waited for him to return but he didn’t. I called him over again and this time he brought the chef but again, they didn’t offer any solutions and left. I was stunned at this behavior so finally, I brought my bowl- untouched- back to the counter myself and told them I didn’t want it because it was not what I expected and they couldn’t/wouldn’t do anything to make it better. Long story short, the waiter became extremely aggressive and rude, acted like a petulant child and tried to force me to pay, going so far as threatening to call the police, simply because I wanted to return an uneaten, untouched bowl that I was unsatisfied with and for which they refused to do anything about even after I politely complained multiple times. This waiter has no business being a waiter, with his incredibly rude attitude and zero customer service abilities. I should mention that when we arrived, the tables were dirty despite the restaurant being relatively empty. There was no reason the waiter didnt have time to wipe the tables clean- he clearly just didn’t want to and/or was lazy, hated his job… Anyways, ultimately, the chef was nice, offered to add some additional sauce to the rice (which I declined because I was too angry to eat at this point), and in the end, the chef allowed my bowl to be returned and did not accept payment for the second bowl which my partner ate. All in all, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, driven by one terribly rude and unprofessional waiter who should be promptly fired. This waiter was a male, Moroccan man. He spoke French. I read through the other reviews because I was surprised to see so many positive reviews and I myself found this restaurant on a guide whose recommendations are always amazing (Time Out)- turns out, this restaurant had a recent change of ownership!!! That explains the previous positive reviews, and clearly, things have gone down hill based on the other 1-2 star reviews.

K.u.K. Café-Konditorei L. Heiner is a renowned family-run pastry shop in Vienna, established since 1973, offering an extensive selection of handmade cakes and tarts. It is famous for inventing classics like the Kardinalschnitte and serving an enjoyable Sachertorte with moist texture, fruity jam, and tasty ganache.
We went to this cafe for a quick tea time session, ordered apple strudel with cream and melange. The apple strudel is really YUMMY, like you can bite and still taste the slight crispiness of the apple instead of the apple being totally mushy. I personally love strong coffee and the coffee here is really great, a great balance of coffee and milk. The service is really great as well. Totally enjoyed our time here ❤️

I recently visited this classic café and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and charming—perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. They serve incredibly delicious cakes that perfectly complement their well-brewed coffee. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Prices are also quite reasonable for the quality and service offered. Highly recommend!

Went here to sooth my sweet tooth with a sachertorte. It was delicious. Perfectly chocolatey and sweet from the apricot filling. Staff's English is a bit rusty so be patient with them, can't expect everyone to know English after all!
Kenny A — Google review
As a first time tourist to Vienna, I almost didn’t eat the Sachertorte as there’s so many reviews at famous coffee houses about how dry or not special it is. But after much reading, I found my way here and it made me like this cake a lot - the cake is tasty, apricot jam is lovely and you need to have the dollop of whip cream to balance it all out. I had every last bite except the chocolate was too sweet, but otherwise was absolutely delicious with no regrets! Staff is really friendly for a traditional coffee house.

Really good cafe, with a lot of good options and nice view to the center. Very professional service especially the staff( Stella ) she’s incredibly friendly and welcoming and always happy to help with any inquiries you may have. Highly recommended ! And for sure I would love to come again. Reasonable prices
Ragahd A — Google review
A nice, but overpriced spot to sit and relax in after sightseeing in Vienna. I ordered a Sacher torte and pot of tea, with the cake being €5.60 and the tea being €6.50. I don’t mind paying for good food but the cake was very dry and the chocolate ganache had a funny taste. In the end I couldn’t actually finish it. The tea was fine but why was it €6.50? Coming from a rip off country I am used to surcharges but wow I really feel like that was an insane amount of money to pay for a pot of hot water and a generic non labelled tea bag. So while service was quick and the vibe of the place is good and comfy, I obviously can’t recommend coming here.

Very nice place. Great service. Wide variety of cakes, if you come afternoon it is much more limited. There are also chocolates and cute animal figures made of marzipan. The ice cream was ok, not many flavors. It is important to notice it is a cash only place!!

Lovely spot with excellent service. They offer a wide selection of cakes, though the variety is much more limited if you visit in the afternoon. You’ll also find chocolates and charming marzipan animal figures. The ice cream was decent, but the flavor options were limited. Important to note: it’s a cash-only establishment!
Sara N — Google review
As soon as I sat down I was made to feel uncomfortable and rushed. The staff put a receipt on my table immediately, which put me off. The cake was stale and you can tell it was not fresh as the whipped cream tasted off and the pastry was old. When I got ready to leave and pay, an older waitress almost flew to my table to 'ensure' I would pay. No trust in customers for no reason = no repeat customers for a reason. No card payments and almost 10 euros less in my pockets...never to return.

The friendly owner provides excellent service, helping patrons choose based on their preferences. Visitors also appreciate the fresh and tasty offerings, along with the pleasant atmosphere and great customer service.
We ended up here by chance and we were very pleased with what we found. Not only the classic apple strudel was delicious, but we had a pleasant chat with the owner. Everything is made by hand by his wife, and the warm vanilla sauce was delicious also.

We took peach strudel and the classic apple strudel. Both were great. The vanilla sauce that comes with it was delicious. I heard from the owner that they make it completely by hand. The owner was very polite and we had a good conversation. It's a small traditional place hidden in an alleyway. Highly recommend if you are visiting Regenburg to try out this place.

After having some excellent strudel while in Austria, I was on the lookout for promising options while in Germany. We quite literally came across this place on our way to see the Old Stone Bridge and I had to stop in. Good thing too! Not only was the apple/lebkuchen/cranberry strudel with warm vanilla sauce and coffee drinks delicious, we had a memorable connection with the owner. When we mentioned we are from Alabama, he said his father spent time in the 1960s working on the rocket program in Huntsville. That’s where we are from, so our visit was doubly blessed to hear his stories!

“A day without strudel is like a sky without stars” was written on the board as we stepped inside. This statement rings even truer after having tried Strudelei’s strudels. We tried the classic apple as well as the apple/lebkuchen/cranberries strudel. Since it’s a very small place, there isn’t much seating available, however, the takeaway experience was great. The strudels are delicious. The hot vanilla sauce (clearly homemade and delicious) comes in returnable glassware to ensure insulation. The owner was very kind and polite, which made the whole experience even better. We will surely be returning to test every strudel option they’ve available.

Hotel Imperial is a luxurious 19th-century hotel that offers sophisticated dining, a piano bar, and a gym. It has hosted notable guests such as Richard Wagner, Johannes Brahms, Emperor Franz Joseph, and Charlie Chaplin. Originally built as the neo-classical Palais Wurttemberg in 1866, it quickly became known as Vienna's finest and grandest hotel. The property retains its reputation and the ambiance of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
Absolutely Exceptional – A Birthday to Remember! We stayed for just one night, and it was truly memorable. Thank you. Yes It was my birthday! They spoiled us with the perfect bottle of champagne and a delicious cake decorated with fresh fruit. The staff were warm, professional, and attentive. The suite: stunning, elegant and spacious with every detail reflecting luxury and comfort. Every part of our stay exceeded our expectations: the atmosphere, the service, the little touches of thoughtfulness. It felt like a perfect blend of history, elegance, and true 5-star hospitality. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Without a doubt, this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Highly, highly recommended!

The bar area was a great place to convene with our family as we planned our next days.

I do not need to say any more about a hotel that was built to be a palace in the city. The hotel is being kept-up perfectly at that level, which is no easy task. What I find really impressive is the people working there who make a stay both a glorious experience, and at the same time give guests a very warm welcome feeling with ease from the heart, not with gestures like from some management-workshop. Especially the front desk always gave us a feeling of returning to a home-away-from-home. With different shifts they kept that up. Still, out of all those great people I'd especially like to mention Mrs. Baur and Mrs. Steinmetz, Mr. Ludewig who helped us tremendously, and Mrs. Elbasi. Everyone working for the team of the hotel gave the beautiful building its soul, but those four stood out even in that amazing team.

This hotel is phenomenal! The staff is a cut above in hospitality and service. AJ took good care of us and we scored an upgrade! Concierge service was amazing and helped us with symphony tickets for a sold out performance. The hotel is steeped in history and very interesting to explore all the beauty within this building.

I hate to be writing this review as I looked forward to staying at Hotel Imperial for my wedding week last month in August. I’m still dealing with charges & authorizations on my credit card almost a month later. They have trainee’s who do not quite know what they are doing running the front desk. I had to move rooms in the middle of my stay, the day before my wedding because the upgrade they were meant to give me when I checked in, was given to me later when I checked into our getting ready suite. Even before my stay, I had requested a late check out for our getting ready suite - which I never have a problem getting as I have status with Marriott. They tried to charge me a ridiculous late check out fee & argued with me via email until they finally gave in. Everything else about this hotel was amazing, the rooms were spacious, the room service staff were impeccable. The front desk staff just really need to get it together. The week of my wedding was interrupted more than once by mistakes they had made. And then! On my honeymoon, they’re authorizing my card double for room service charges. I had to reach out multiple times to get an answer. I wasn’t going to write this review as I loved the rooms & the amenities but two days ago, I had another 1000€ pending charge on my card. When I reached out to inquire why, they said they had no idea why that happened. They quickly fixed it but why are they charging my card accidentally a month after my stay?? Unprofessional

My Husband & I stayed here for 2 nights in late September. The hotel was beautiful, the beds was very soft and comfortable. The staff were friendly & helpful. The location is great - walking distance to lots of great restaurants & opera. We got breakfast both mornings, there is an elevated breakfast buffet spread and you can also order a la cart.

I had higher expectations for this hotel and being a Marriott member. 1. Perhaps I'm comparing the hospitality to what I can get in other Bonvoy properties in Asia; but for a 5* hotel, I was surprised there was no mention of welcome as a Bonvoy member during the check-in. 2. The room provided has a faulty door knob in. Each time I tapped my card to enter the room, the door just wouldn't open. I had to try several times for it to finally work. Not the 5* hotel standard I expect. 3. In general, your staff was polite but lacking in warmth, almost seemingly stand-offish. The only warm and friendly person was the older hotel porter in stripe clothes that assisted us during our check out on 1 October. We never got his name, but he was the only one that probably embodied the spirit of hospitality. The staff member with a top hat (and I believe who wore spectacles) on the morning of 1 October was less than friendly. Overall a disappointing stay for a bonvoy hotel.
Nana L — Google review
I will be brief and clear. This hotel is worthless and run down. Sic transit gloria mundi. Our rooms stank from sewage odor getting worse over time. When we gently mentioned this to the reception, we were advised that subject to availability we may be transferred to another room on the upper floors but it may have the same issue which is apparently recurring in all upper floors due to the old sewage system. We were offered fruit as compensation by some rude staff at the reception. And all this at a 800 euros per night hotel! An assistant manager eventually showed up, said we deserve better but we never heard back. We are in the middle of our holiday and it seems we have two more nights in a room stinking from sewage. At least we hope the reception staff will change and will be less rude. Unbelievable. This hotel which is purportedly a luxury hotel should be shut down.

Traditionally baked on thin, edible wafers known as oblaten—reminiscent of Communion wafers—these sweet delights have their origins in 13th-century Nuremberg, where monks ingeniously used larger hosts to prevent the dough from sticking during baking.
Delish!

Hiked all the way up here only to find it was closed, although times stated on Google maps said it was open from 10:00 through to 16:30. Shan't be coming back again.

Today I was at kleinbergalm. It was a busy day, the sun was shining and the alm was located really nicely. We ordered our drinks and food. I had some tap water, and then we waited for about 1 hour and 40minutes for our food to arrive. During our waiting time I noticed the waiters were a bit rude what might had to do with stress. But if a customer askes you politely how long the food is still going to take and you response with: when it arrives. You're simply not doing the job right. I also got ignored when I tried to order or when I had a qquestion. When we finally had the food it was allright, when we finished the food we were already sitting there for over 2 hours and I asked if I could pay. Our waiter apperantely also was the boss of the whole alm, and he simply let us pay for our food and didn't mention anything about the long wait. He also let me pay 2,50euros for a big tap water. I asked him why, and he said we give it to you right!? I understand that every place has good and bad days, but this place ruined my whole day. If they would simple just had said sorry for the wait, it's busy today. I would have been happy. But to let costumers wait for almost 2hours, don't say anything about it and also ask them to pay for tap water.... I am not happy. Just no manners

Gerstner Salons Privés, located on the top floor of Cafe Gerstner K in Vienna, offers a luxurious and elegant experience. The cafe is housed in the Palais Todesco, with beautiful interiors that were once the apartments of Baron Eduard von Todesco's family. This hidden gem is not well-known among tourists and is mostly frequented by locals.
The best afternoon treat in front of the opera! We ordered a Sacher torte and an Apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce and whipped cream. The waiter was incredibly attentive and kind, even offering us water, which we really appreciated. The space is beautiful, with stunning views of the opera. A wonderful experience overall!

We bought a cake to eat and sat and the bar, as soon as they brought us the cake we saw the waitress place all the cakes on the plates with bare hands and at the dame time touching pens and pieces of paper from the floor. Of course we stopped eating and demanded for the cake to be returned. The cake also seemed not fresh and it's texture was weirdly hard. Overall unacceptable service.
ARIS T — Google review
When we arrived to enjoy a famous dessert, we were told to go upstairs to place our order. As soon as we got there, we were shocked by the behavior of a man named Michail, who was arrogant, offensive, and completely unacceptable. We were treated like unwelcome guests, mocked and humiliated in front of other visitors. His rudeness was so evident that many people left the establishment without ordering anything. Michail was also incredibly rude and discriminatory, deliberately trying to correct us while we were speaking English—even though it is our native language. English is his second language, and it was obvious he did it just to annoy us. He unfairly accused us of being “very rude” when we arrived upstairs, even inventing excuses, such as blaming us for another guest leaving after finishing their dessert. His arrogance and lack of professionalism are shocking for a place of this supposed reputation. Only thanks to a kind and professional waitress, who was very gentle, was the experience not completely ruined. At the end, Michail even had the audacity to ask for a tip. We gave it, but only for her, not for him. He clearly demonstrated that he is a person of low character and entirely unfit for customer service. It is unacceptable that important clients are treated this way. He spoke to us as if we were his old-school friends, with no respect whatsoever. We cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking courtesy, professionalism, or a high-quality experience. We hope this message makes people aware of what to expect here. From what we have seen, other customers have had similar experiences with a male staff member who treats people very poorly—this is clearly Mr. Michail.

had a very disappointing experience at this coffee shop. The staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional. When I asked a simple question about the menu, the barista responded with an annoyed tone and seemed completely uninterested in helping. To make matters worse, when I pointed out a mistake in my order, I was met with an eye roll and a dismissive attitude. Good coffee isn’t worth dealing with bad service. I won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values respectful customer service.
Rashid L — Google review
Very cool place to dine in but unprofessional some male staff. Rude to family members with kids that can ask the family to silent the kids which is totally unprofessional and NOT ethical. Not family friendly location for sure.

Very disrespectful workers, racist, and gave us a table at the very end where there is no view. And when asked to change the table he said if you want go back outside with a rude tone. I immediately left and didn’t order anything.

Racist service. 인종 차별 서비스. 제발 가지마세요 I ordered a Signature cake but the waiter brought me Sacher cake. It was a wrong order but he insisted just to have that cake because that it is the cake. His attitude was very rude and arrogant. When I tried to politely explain I can show you which cake I mentioned and walk to the cake case with him, (again I was keeping polite and calm attitude and clearly the Eng label of signature cake was directing sth else), again he laughed at me and said he knows better than me and ignored the fact. Also he commented on my coffee very rudely when he was serving as well. Consistently he had an arrogant and extremely rude stance and looked down on me. On top of that he asked where I am from right after he met me and when I said London, he said no. You are Asian

Café Tomaselli is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Salzburg's old town, steeped in rich history since its establishment in 1703. This iconic coffeehouse beautifully embodies Austria's café culture, where delectable food and warm company are cherished equally. As you step inside, you're greeted by an enchanting atmosphere featuring dark-wood paneling, elegant marble tables, and vintage decor adorned with crystal chandeliers and baroque paintings.
To start with, this cafe opens at 7 am which is amazing if you need to have breakfast early in the morning. The place is beautiful inside and outside, service is top notch, the food and presentation of it - classy. I was going there every day and was never disappointed. Definitely worth checking it out!
AM A — Google review
After our Sound of Music tour, we were so happy to find Café Tomaselli right in the middle of St. Stephen’s Square. This place is charming and filled with energy, and we found a balcony seat on the second floor — perfect for people-watching! We had kombucha tea, passion fruit soda, and apple strudel, all light and refreshing. Service was friendly, though there’s no AC, so it can get warm on hot days. Still, a great spot to recharge and soak in Salzburg’s historic vibe.
Regis K — Google review
Great location at a beautiful, historic cafe. Our group enjoyed a traditional breakfast of eggs, pastries, and coffee. Wish the service was friendlier. We ordered three omelets with cheese (no ham) and one plain omelet. When server arrived with two omelets that had ham, getting two of our orders wrong, he tried to argue with us over the error.
Kyla — Google review
A truly charming café with a rich history! It’s fascinating to see that the staff still wear traditional old-time outfits, which really adds to the atmosphere and makes you feel like you’re stepping back in time. The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes it perfect for a relaxed break. The lunch I had was delicious – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The hot chocolate was also amazing – rich and comforting, just what you need on a cold day. The waiters were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. There’s also more than enough space to sit comfortably, so you can really enjoy the experience without feeling crowded. If you’re looking for a historic spot with excellent food, drinks, and a unique atmosphere, Café Tomaselli is a must-visit! Highly recommend it for anyone in the area.

Atmosphere was great. Very historic. Unfortunately we had to tell our waiter to clean the table after we had sat. Other than that service was fast. The tiramisu cake was delicious and so was the coffee.

I’d go for the vibes. The cafe takes you to another century, and it was especially interesting to go in the early morning as there are actually locals enjoying their coffee before work. As for the cakes we had the apple strudel and another one but it wasn’t mind blowing, nor the cappuccino.

Cafe Konditorei Fürst, located in Salzburg, is renowned for creating the Mozartkugel, a delectable chocolate treat filled with pistachio marzipan and nougat.
I tried the sweets from different shops. I bought the manner and mirabell ones from supermarket. I think the taste of marzipan is what makes this sweet special. In order of personal preference: Furst - a good balance of chocolate and marzipan flavours and not too sweet Josef - has more of the green marzipan which tastes stronger than the chocolate. Not too sweet, but sweeter than furst. Manner Victor Schmidt - does not have the distinctive green core but I could taste the flavouring and is good value for money for a big bag. Sweeter than furst. Braun - chocolate taste stronger than marzipan but the chocolate taste good. Sweet. Mirabell - has the nice distinctive chocolate shell and green marzipan core. The chocolate shell was harder than the others and I did not taste the marzipan. Sweet.

One of the oldest coffee/pastry shops of Salzburg, and the inventors of the Mozartkugel. If you have a sweet tooth it’s a must visit when in Salzburg. Located on one of the picturesque central streets, it offers an ambience of the 19th century as you enter the shop. They offer a wide variety of tasty sweets, so go crazy in trying things out, but definitely save a spot for the famous Mozartkugel.
Tamás M — Google review
I relaxed and soaked in the old-world charm of the café while digging into a slice of chocolate cake and sipped on coffee. Much to the LO frustration, there was no WiFi, so he sat there thoroughly bored! I picked up several of their beautifully wrapped Mozartkugeln to take home as gifts (and, let’s be honest, for myself). I polished them off far too quickly! Sadly, they weren’t to the OH’s taste - but more for me, I suppose.
MelodeeS — Google review
You can get delicate and well known Mozart chocolate here. It’s the inventor of Mozart chocolate too. Though the chocolate was not astonishingly tasty, it had a richer flavour compared to other Mozart Chocolate sold along the street. I visited this restaurant on August 3 morning and there were three groups waiting for a table. I was second in line. After seating the first group, the young waiter didn’t acknowledge me or ask about my group. Instead, he asked the group behind me how many people they had . The third group gentleman kindly reminded the young waiter that I should be served. I felt ignored and disrespected as a customer. This left a negative impression of the restaurant's service. I hope the management can improve their process and treat all guests fairly.

Food is good and the location is closed to the shopping area. You may need to wait since it’s really crowded after 10am. I didn’t tip when I paid because I barely revived any service. The cakes and pastries are of top quality, carefully prepared and beautifully decorated—just what you expect from a classic patisserie. The service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. A must-visit spot, whether for coffee, a sweet treat, or a little dessert break—all at very reasonable prices. Perfect for anyone who loves traditional pastries.

Sometimes all stars align, and instead of just a shadow, one gets a taste of the ideal thing from Plato's cave. This was one such revelatory experience: the ideal cake exists! It is made in Lienz, it is pink and delicious! It is called Punschwürfel and will make you smile for days. Highly recommended!

Very nice place where you can have a sweet rest with a piece of cake or ice cream. The staff is very gentle and the quality seems to be good. The 3 stars valuation is due to the lack of credit card payment.
Andrea T — Google review
Waitress wasn’t too friendly, the cakes look great but are super sugary and could have more taste. The inside decor has a cute charm to it.
Ona D — Google review
The worst service we had so far in Austria. There was dog at the next table, and whenever waitress came to serve us, she rolled her eyes and acted very annoyed because dog was slightly in the way. The dog was lovely and very well behaved. If you are not welcoming to animals, then put sign up at the entrance. Her mood totally ruined everything. Both us and next table felt very uncomfortable by this. We also asked if we could receive the receipt together with drinks, since we were short on time and limited by bus departure. Waitress again rolled her eyes like we were such a burden. Why is she a waitress? Zero hospitality, a real shame.

Tomaselli Gelateria on Maria Theresienstrasse is a popular ice cream destination in Innsbruck, offering an impressive selection of 50 different flavors made from Tyrolean milk. The gelateria combines family recipes with authentic Italian waffle cones, attracting students, families, tourists, and locals alike. While not a hidden gem, it's a must-visit at one of its three locations.
My first homemade ice cream in the center of Innsbruck. I do not regret tasting it even in the winter for me 😂 It's very yummy which is no wonder why they always have a long long queue. Aroi make make 😁

This place has a wide variety of Ice-Cream flavors and also good choices of the scoop sizes. We tried Passion Fruit, Pistachio & Mango which were also good. They have lot of options in chocolate ice cream and fruit flavored ice creams. One suggestion would be if they can have the Menu for Customer that would be good because there was a long queue and we got very little time to choose our flavors. If we got the Menu earlier we could have decided which flavors we want to get without rushing.
Neha S — Google review
More than 20 flavours. Service was quick and staff are friendly. Pistachio was delicious - not too sweet and the texture is smooth.
John T — Google review
Delicious and reasonably priced gelato (2,2 eur). Flavours are slightly less intense and rich than that in Italy, but overall still a very solid gelato for a hot day. Expect long queues, about 5 to 10 minutes at least as they are very popular!

Probably the beat gelato i have tasted during my europe trip that lasted for 2 weeks. There were ample of flavours to choose from. Price were very reasonable as well. 1 scoop was 2.2, 2 scoops 4.1 and 3 for 5.90. Pricing is the same for all flavours, and the same for cone/ cup. I chose pistachio, hazelnut and nutella. Pistachio was the best among the flavours i have chosen.

A very popular ice-cream parlour in the heart of the old town of Innsbruck. On a hot summers day, this is a nice cooling treat. I visited recently in Aug 2024 and stumbled across this place and judging from the queue decided we would get an ice cream. The choice to choose from is mesmerising, there are so many different flavours and combinations to choose from. I chose White Chocolate/Pistachio and a scoop of Nutella - the ice cream was smooth, creamy. Absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend ice-cream from here. Good quality ice-cream!

Quintessential Austrian. Delicious apple torte hot chocolate and apple strudel and cream. Service was responsive and friendly the decor quirky. If you’re looking to indulge a little bit, this might be the place for you.

The cakes look better than they taste. They were too watery and not of the quality I expected at the price. The sauce for the ham and cheese toast cost nearly 1 euro extra and the waitress didn't tell me beforehand. Topped off with the staff lacking common courtesy, not even uttering a basic greeting, I don't recommend this establishment at all.

What a charming place. If passing on this village, this is a must for coffee and cakes. Indoor and outdoor setting. Outside on the square you overlook the church, and get a nice breeze. The ice is outstanding! There is a very wide selection and everything is good. The service is not so good. People had to wait very long for service. We. Waited long to order. There were five people in our group. The order was delivered in three batches. There were two mistakes out of the five orders. When we wanted to pay, we eventually had to go inside to look for someone to take the money. They did not have enough staff for the amount of guests. I really hope that this was an exception.

Schlosskaffee family Fenkart KG is a charming café located right on the Schlossplatz in Hohenems. It offers a delightful breakfast served elegantly on an étagère, along with a delectable selection of cakes, pastries, and homemade chocolate specialties. Additionally, visitors can indulge in a rich cake buffet every afternoon. The café also features the new Schokoladenwelt attraction which provides insights into the cocoa industry and offers plenty of chocolate samples to enjoy.
The new Schokoladenwelt attraction is good fun. In about 45 minutes, it explains the cocoa industry and what distinguishes premium from mass-produced chocolate. At its heart the Schokoladenwelt is a Fenkart brand and product showcase (without the wit or Disneyfication of Zotter), but with all the chocolate samples you could ever dream of. Apart from all the tastings, there are some other interesting interactive elements done with style and creativity. All written content is in German only, but French and English audioguides are on the way.

Great ice cream & the lady serving us was super friendly and helpful! There’s 4 different levels of ice cream flavors that each have a different price point, usually around 2€ each. Since opening at Universitätsplatz, Fabi's has become a go-to destination for those seeking a refreshing treat on sunny days—often resulting in long queues that speak to its popularity.
Fabi's Frozen Yogurt serves pricey but delicious frozen yogurt with a variety of toppings! Loved the pistachio sirup with the strawberries, all the toppings were super fresh. Located in the center of Salzburg’s old city. Staff is fast and friendly, there is a queue as it’s very popular but it goes fast, and has even some tables outside. Recommend it!

The yogurt ice cream was excellent. The medium portion is just right (like two scoops of ice cream), as is the price. €5.90 is not excessive. In addition, they also have very tasty toppings, I chose no. 3 from the menu, and my friend chose no. 14 and I must admit that the hazelnuts were also very, very tasty, as were the fruits that were in each menu. Top, keep it up

Frozen yoghurt at it's finest! This place is very popular situated in the heart of Salzburg old town. The queues are crazy on a weekend, especially if the weather is warm! It's a small space inside, however the turn around is very quick. Credit to the staff here, who are all very friendly and efficient. There is seating available outside but can be limited when busy. The small size is very generous and served up more than enough! However, if you have space for more, the medium and large will be up your tree! They offer an extensive range of toppings, including fresh fruit. The caramel sauce is amazing! If you are feeling adventurous, add extra toppings for a more lavish experience! Keep up the great work and excellent customer service!

The ice cream here is absolutely delightful — smooth, silky, and rich in flavor. Every bite feels like a sweet indulgence worth savoring. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the service. The person serving was moody and came across as angry and aggressive, which took away from the joy of enjoying such a lovely treat. It felt almost ironic — such a sweet dessert presented with such a sour attitude. In this place, there is a completely ridiculous rule: "if you buy ice cream, you're not allowed to sit at a table." My wife was waiting for the rest of the family to arrive and bought herself some ice cream. There are five of us, and we could easily have spent around €150 here, but she was forbidden to sit at a table with her ice cream. Friends, this is nonsense. Real Italian ice cream shop! The staff also speaks Italian and German fluently. Many taste flavors, I did not know what to order. First you pay for the bill and then you order your ice cream, a system that works well when there are a lot of customers.

Very unfriendly lady at the cash register only speaking Italian and whatever the tries saying feels like a military command. Only cash (which always feel like they’re enjoying black money as nowadays depositing cash is more expensive than a card transaction) and when you’re not having any you’re frowned upon and make you feel like you’re wasting their time. I’d suggest you take your business to where it’s appreciated. Enough great ice parlors around this one.

Very bad, my 9 year old son can make better affogato at home than here… we ordered 2 affogatos 2 mineral waters… one costs 2.80€ and you can tell those are from the automat where they cost like 50 cents… we got beer in can like its from automat too… we got extra small cake to coffees but those tasted like they are 5 days old… really terrible experience… Id suggest to go to McDonalnds instead which is very near

Stopped at the restaurant on the way to our camping place: what a great surprise. Food was delicious, portions are big and we tried some new combinations (Cordon Bleu Burger). Highly recommended for lunch or dinner with kids!

Definitely the most delicious and best bread and pastries. However, the coffee doesn't stand out much in terms of flavor. It would be great to add a small kids' corner in such a large space, and offer more lunch options.

The place itself is very nice and designed beautifully. Good variety of different bakery goods (and I especially recommend the cakes). Cappuccino is very bad (they don't know how to prepare a coffee, I suggest sending the personnel for a short coffee making course. Cakes falling apart and not stable, and some of the sweet items are disappointing.

Definitely the best coffee shop and desserts place in Ischgl. With good coffee, wide variety of delicious and beautiful cakes, and fresh pastries. Also they have great ban sandwiches with Shnitzels (my favourite), chess and more. The service is fast and friendly. The place have nice sitting tables. Enjoy :)

Today I ordered panini with tomatoes. I received a burger without meat. While paying the bill, I asked to be billed as for a burger. The lady refused me. It was said that the panini bread was over. It's a pity no one mentioned it sooner. The burger bread has different allergens than the panini.

The Original Brezlstand is a bakery in the fortress that specializes in pretzels. They have many flavor options, and they are fresh and delicious. The shopkeeper is friendly and talkative, and she would be worth visiting again!
We bought a cheese pretzel that the shopkeeper recommended. We didn't have to reheat it, but it was delicious and not hard. The apple danish in the shape of a pretzel was also delicious and slightly sweet. The shopkeeper was very friendly and talkative, and we'd definitely stop by again when we visit ;)

This is the first review I’ve written this year. Regular pretzel. €4.90 Cold, stale. Probably yesterday’s Save yourself €3, buy the shittiest bread at Lidl and cheap cheese. It’ll be tastier

They are very unfriendly and rude at the food stand here. Update: beyond horrible! Very mean and careless. We are eating here and they spray and clean their glass boxes. It’s like come on, I am eating here and you are spraying your chemicals!
Artur S — Google review
Pretzels were soft and tasty, however the seller didn't seem to be very nice, acted very bored and unhappy with our presence answered very briefly to questions about offered pretzels. Pretzel with prosciutto and cheese could be served with at least with some butter inside, what could prevent the cheese and ham from falling out of it completly. Overall I would recommend...

BackWerk is a self-service bakery that offers a wide variety of sandwiches, croissants, coffee, and juices. The vegetarian sandwiches are particularly delicious with soft, flavorful bread and fresh high-quality ingredients. They also offer freshly baked goods like blueberry muffins stuffed with blueberries. The prices are reasonable and the self-serve process is quick.
It is located opposite the main entrance road to the fortress and love bridge of Salzberg. It is the most economical place for a meal or refreshment among all places in surroundings. Though, the sitting may not be comfortable for old age people. It is kind of a self-service bakery.. in other words.. They provide you freedom of choosing items by yourself. Nice bakery with a convenient system! I go there 3 to 4 times a week to grab lunch and drinks. The tray system is super handy – you pick what you want, pay, and then either take it to go or enjoy it on-site. The place has a modern, clean look, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I really enjoy stopping by for a quick and easy meal. Highly recommend it if you're looking for fresh, tasty food!

What an absolute gem of a place! We sampled a range of their vegetarian sandwiches and all of them were absolutely delicious! The bread was soft, chewy and full of flavor and all of the ingredients (from vegetables to cheese to eggs) were fresh and of great quality. The blueberry muffin was even delightful - freshly baked and stuffed with blueberries! Honestly cannot fault this place. Super quick self serve process and extraordinary prices and value. And what's better? You can take the food out to the riverside and enjoy it there. 10/10 experience!

Great self-service bakery. It's not a traditional bakery but it is good. It's basically like Austrian Greggs but better quality and nicer atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable as well. You can eat in or take away. There's room to seat about 12 people. Very good spot to load up on an extensive selection of both sweet and savoury baked goods as well as bread rolls (if you wanted to make a sandwich later on) if you plan to go out for the day. They also have self service coffee machines and a fridge cabinet with salads, yoghurts and soft drinks. You'll need to grab a tray and a paper sheet, even if you plan on taking away, and then you'll be given bags at the till. Staff were very friendly.

This restaurant café is a great place! We were greeted warmly and welcomed by the friendly staff. The food was excellent and offered at an affordable price, thanks to the generous portions. If you are early birds, this place opens since 6.30 am (6.30 - 22.00 daily). The staff are very friendly, they say hello to me when I step in the cafe. Friendly is the key word I look for on the review. I ordered scramble egg with ham, thus it is as what as exoected. However, I really like my cappucino. It smells and tastes good, especially in the rainning morning, and it comes with a glass of water!! Very grateful for this nice service.

Ice creams were very good. We both took a cone, with 2 and 3 scoops. There is quite a lot of choice. I took banana and coco. It's possible to sit down outside to eat the ice creams. I'm hoping this was an anomaly, but I liked neither the Caramel Crumb nor the Butterkeks flavors today. The Dark Chocolate was solid, but it was also the smallest of the three scoops. I'll probably go back tomorrow and try again, but 2 of the 3 were not great and, frankly, tasted quite similar.
