Ice cream shop
Pola Gelato Shop, located near the Santa Lucia square in Merida's Historic Center, offers a unique variety of flavors that reflect Yucatecan traditions. With between five and ten sorbets and an equal number of gelatos available daily, you can expect classic options like chocolate alongside innovative creations inspired by regional cuisine such as chocolate with chiles, flan, pineapple with chaya, or lemon with rosemary.
We had chocolate and coffee and biscotti flavors. Both were delicious. Went on Valentine’s (Friday) and wasn’t too long of a wait at all. Good price. We will be back there again!
Maria B — Google review
The dragonfruit sorbet was great, but the gelati left something to be desired. It didn't have the creaminess I expect from gelato and the flavors were just a little bit off. It's very good, but not great. The staff was wonderful and the place is nice though. I'm almost sad to not be giving them five stars.
Brandon D — Google review
This place just didn’t do anything for me. I love Gelato/Ice Cream. Recently came back from Italy, where we didn’t have a bad gelato. But after trying 6 different flavors here, I didn’t like any of them. We ate my wife’s one and even left that. True the flavors are very unique, pretty salty. Just not my taste. Service was excellent
Marat N — Google review
Great gelato! We enjoyed the clotted cream and dulce de leche + peanut, and the naranja agria/berries + guanabana. The little room off to the side has AC if you're looking to escape the heat a little bit.
Steph C — Google review
Have you ever wondered what blue cheese gelato would taste like? Well, you are in luck my friend!! That is only one of many flavor choices available here! Service is friendly and helpful. Overall a very nice stop on a hot day, one of the few places that doesn’t have the music so loud you have to scream at the person sitting next to you.
J D — Google review
Visited after seeing it recommended by multiple people, they are right, it's filled with so many fun and diverse flavors. Try some of their unusual ones you will be surprised and amused.
Ale V — Google review
Fantastic and quirky flavours and friendly staff! The strawberry, cranberry and red wine ice cream is one of the best I’ve ever had. We’d had to come here twice so we could try as many flavours as we can. Would highly recommended.
Charlotte F — Google review
Yum. Delicious handcrafted gelato. Great little shop with a cute air conditioned indoor seating area for the hot days, with a tidy washroom too…or steps away from a really nice park (which we chose as a the shady spot to enjoy our ice cream). Easy to miss this little gem as signage is not the greatest, worth searching for it though ;)

Ah Cacao Chocolate Café is a local gem with multiple locations in Playa del Carmen and Cancun. It's renowned for its intense criollo chocolate, the Mayan 'food of the gods,' available in various forms like bars, cocoa, and roasted beans. The café offers an array of indulgent treats such as fudgy mochas, frappes with hints of spicy chili, and decadent brownies.
I wondered how long it would take for them to outgrow their britches. 2025 I found it. The 100% mega bars are anything but that, I don't care what they say, and I'm excited to see their backpedaling in their response about cacao butter blah blah blah I've been to 161 countries, you can't fool a fool. 50% at best! Which is candy, drop cacao and call it Hershey's, pure toxic carcinogenic sugar, Ah. Cacao tamales are pretty much a brownie, and the spinach tamale I don't know, not really something to consider for a meal with the half milk, "no sugar" cacao drink that was very sweet despite my repeated insistence for no sugar. They said "it's not too sweet!" I said for me it is, zero sugar please.
Damon L — Google review
Several locations just along 5th Avenida you can choose from if one location is too loud or crowded. This is probably the most spacious in terms of seating options out n the patio. Victor was our waiter and was very attentive. He provided fast service. Mocha and chai were tasty. The mocha has a nice, balanced ratio between cocoa and espresso. Desserts tasted a bit older though, it had cold, stale fridge taste and flavor.
Nola — Google review
Best chocolate iced coffee frappe I've ever had! They had agave straws and were super nice. They also have free samples. We ended up also getting the chocolate covered coffee beans from the freezer. So good! They have free wifi, lots of outlets if you need do some work as well
Diane S — Google review
A friend and I went inside to order a couple frappes. The drinks are very good with strawberry, banana and mango. I was showing my friend the coffee which I previously purchased and we were politely told to take dogs outside which we did. While enjoying our drinks my friends dog likes to sit on her lap as she is very small. Someone then came up to us and said dogs are not allowed to sit on your lap here. Confusing as other customers allowed to have feet on chairs which is not sanitary. Won’t be returning.
Lynn B — Google review
This chocolate cafe is pure bliss! Their mocha frappe with chocolate chunks, chocolate and cinnamon coffee (W😋Wza), and cookies were absolutely delicious! When you visit 5th street in Playa Del Carmen, add Ah Cacao to your ‘Go To’ list for dessert/coffee! Their staff (especially Gildardo Torres) is SUPER friendly and welcoming! 6/5 🌟’s!
Zainab L — Google review
Love the concept but the execution isn't good. There are chocolate-themed spots like this in other towns that are great; this is like a corporate rip-off with no soul and no skill. I tried a "chocolate" with almond milk, a chocolate chip cookie, and a panque de chocolate con nuezes. None of them were good. The worst was the panque (muffin) which was weirdly flavorless and seemed it was made with lots of very cheap oil. Considering the high prices it's really not worth it.
NS T — Google review
Nice place to have calm breakfast. Order the croissant definitely will ask for more ham and cheese next time. Natural orange juice. Delicious hot chocolate, been craving it since I first had it! Service was decent.
Lorena — Google review
We had hot chocolate with the seasonal pan de muerto, both Excelente! They free chocolate samples and got to try several chocolates. The service is friendly and quick. They have plenty of non dairy options for most drinks.

Turtle Bay Bakery and Cafe is a charming thatched-roof eatery with an adjoining sports bar and bakery. The cafe offers a delectable selection of freshly baked goods, including muffins and rolls, perfect for pairing with your morning coffee. Their breakfast menu features diverse options like fresh fruit plates and egg dishes, while lunch offerings include generous portions of salads, sandwiches, wraps, and a delicious fish sandwich. Additionally, the cafe serves flavorful smoothies made with tropical juices and homemade ice cream.
Laid back and casual dining. An American menu with all your favorite Mexican dishes. Open air seating under the palapa or near the juice bar. Turtle Bay Cafe will not disappoint.
Elias P — Google review
Delicious coffee but the food was average. I had eggs Florentine which uses chaya instead if spinach. It was okay but the feta cheese lacked flavor. My wife had Hobo eggs and those were good. Park in adjacent lot and bring parking ticket to get it stamped for half off
James S — Google review
Very creative with the interior and the menu. Very good place for such a small town akumal. Good for vegetarian options too. Veg tacos could have been better.
Nrup S — Google review
The food is good. The drinks are great. The price is a little bit high but it's on the beach and less than other places. The key lime cheesecake and banana split are fantastic! The flat bread pizzas are worth it.
Ian B — Google review
Eccentric and attractive little restaurant in Akumal. We stopped here first for dessert and had some great ice cream and then later came back for some amazing breakfast. The eggs Benedict was fantastic and the agua frescas are definitely a must grab
David S — Google review
One of the best restaurants in Akumal. They are consistent and make a delicious sourdough flatbread pizza. They are definitely worth the money.
Greg S — Google review
What a charming spot! We came here for my son’s birthday dinner as the menu has plenty of desserts listed. Our party tried the steak frites, enchiladas, salmon, and coconut shrimp. Everything was very tasty! We really loved the drinks as well, the pina colada was made to be flavorful but not overly sweet (my favorite). The best part was the service. Our server was so sweet to my son for his birthday! His favorite part was when they brought out the “tequila boom boom” birthday shot (which was sprite and cranberry juice) and had him take his “first shot” - he’s still talking about it days later. They also turned the fans off for the birthday candles and then immediately back on to keep us cool, just every thoughtful and kind. We had the chocolate toffee cake and then went back another day for the keylime cheesecake. Both delicious. The chocolate cake was a bit rich for me, but everyone else at the table loved it!

Dulcería y Sorbetería Colón is a historic 110-year-old parlor located at Paseo de Montejo 479. It offers a variety of sweet treats, including soft meringues and seasonal sorbets like peach, tamarind, and sapote. The place is known for blending Yucatán peninsula crops into its desserts, with top flavors being mamey fruit, coconut, and guanabana (soursop).
Delicious treat on our hot walk home. My daughter ate the Mango without coming up for air. Hubs and I had Montecado and elote, and the boy had chocolate. They were all amazingly refreshing and delicious. Service was very helpful and attentive. We will be back to try more!
Megan C — Google review
1st time here, and what a welcome treat to cool you off. Beautiful flavors and amazing vibe. It was not too expensive and a wonderful treat. I had the corn sorbet, and others had the watermelon sorbet. Can't wait to go back.
Joe R — Google review
If you like fruit sorbets which are the perfect level of sweetness, this place is for you. We went back twice and had to try all of the flavours.
Lennie Y — Google review
Great place to cool down after a short walk (I want to cool down after every walk in this weather). Prices are more than reasonable and the staff is super nice and attentive! Would definitely recommend!
Vlad — Google review
I really don't understand how is that in Merida where the income is quite low an waterbased 🍨,could cost almost 8 usd per scoop. whoever is familiar with a Concrete in the Midwest (USA) could have an idea of what to compare with. I honestly wouldn't recommend this place anymore. NOTE, is not about the price is more about the cost-beneffit os this product. Not worth it.
J. G — Google review
Loved this place! Area is nice and the outside seating is great. The workers are super friendly and on top of it, the ice-cream is tasty.
Anna — Google review
The place was excellent. The location was great. We loved the ice cream and the sorbets . The coconut ice cream was Divine. The mantecada shake was amazing. The place is well decorated and the service was also excellent. The entertainment was fine. I am glad that I tried it . I loved it I would totally recommend it. I don't know why is the 4.5 it should be a 5.0.I really recommend it. It was a good recommendation.

Coffee shop
Located in the heart of Holbox village, Le Jardin is a charming bakery and café that pays homage to French cuisine. The open-sided café offers a delightful space to savor almost-Parisian pastries, fresh croissants, quiches, and baguettes. In addition to an array of delectable treats, the in-house menu features omelettes, smoothies, and strong European-style coffee.
Delicious, fresh food and wonderful staff. We got an omelet, pastries, fruit, fresh orange juice and coffees. You can tell everything is made fresh and with love. Plus the kids play room is an added bonus!
Natalie R — Google review
Very charming atmosphere where they take a self serving approach for coffee and also clearing your own table. This is a casual atmosphere tucked away on a side street. The owner is from France and he is very nice. The pastries are decent and the other dishes we tried are average as well. The price is affordable. There are better places on the island if you are looking for a full breakfast, but this is a nice place to grab a coffee and pastry. The fresh squeezed orange juice was probably the most impressive item on the menu. We also tried the salmon bagel with cream cheese, which was very mediocre. The omelette was also a regular omelette without anything noteworthy to write about (overcooked and too much oil), unfortunately this took about 30 minutes to deliver and much later than all of the other dishes. I would definitely recommend going with low expectations with the intention of grabbing a take away coffee and a pastry. I would agree with other reviews that don’t understand why everyone is rating this place with 5-stars. I would recommend going to Painopol instead! It is great there.
Magee C — Google review
What a lovely café! Went there for breakfast and had one cuernito, chcolatin and a Rol de Carnela ( that was my favourite 😍) the owner is a very friendly French guy who lives here since 15 years and making all the pastries by HIMSELF!!! Really excellent taste, you have to try!
Oliver P — Google review
Outstanding, I mean it's the best place to have breakfast in Holbox hands down. It's a beautiful place, carefully decorated and I liked that it's very spacious. The food is great and the bread is handmade everyday so it will blow your mind. The owner is very friendly and he can help you out pick something. It's definitely a must in Holbox.
Axel B — Google review
What a lovely place! The owner is so kind and talented. It’s spacious, yummy, and there’s a play area for kids too :) he makes everything himself and it’s all delicious. Really good pastries, sandwiches, mochi smoothies, and coffee ❤️ It was pleasantly quiet whereas other places often play loud music. There was music playing but it wasn’t bothersome. There is also a beautiful garden wrapped around the building (hence le jardin) and we saw some butterflies! You seat yourself and place your order at the counter when you’re ready with your table number. There’s menus hanging up in several languages and you bus your dishes at the end and sort your trash into inorganic and organic waste 👍
Emma E — Google review
SO GOOD WE WENT TWICE IN 3 DAYS. Our favorite breakfast on the island! Croissants were some of the best we’ve had. Also enjoyed iced cappuccinos, fresh squeeze orange juice and green juice.
Icecap T — Google review
Love the owner & Chewy. The food and service is everything. We frequent this establishment every time we come to Holbox
Meghan D — Google review
Very french, baked goods are ok. I had a banana nutella muffin and a veggie omelette. Their betabel juice is delicious. It’s self-service, they have reusable straws :) just a bit disappointed because it wasn’t a “jardin”, just a palapa.

Chocolateria Isla Bella is a high-quality chocolate shop with unique flavors you won't find anywhere else. The owners are passionate about their product and it shows in the quality of the chocolate.
Absolute chocolate perfection. Look no further. Wish I hadn't wasted time and money buying any other chocolates while on Cozumel. This is the real deal, the holy grail, the shiz, you name it. Small batch, handcrafted, mind-blowing gourmet chocolates with flavors I didn't even know were possible. Isabella and Megan couldn't be any kinder and welcoming, it was a delight stopping by their adorable shop and chatting. I can't wait to visit again--and load up on their precious delectable treats!
Lisa T — Google review
So happy to leave a review for this gem. The chocolates are not only stellar in flavor, but they are all dairy-free, made with coconut milk because they wanted to use local products. Great for all our lactose intolerant and vegan friends! Most (about a dozen flavors) are also gluten-free, with just 3 flavors or the 15 or so flavors with gluten in them. Plus their rustic Mexican drinking chocolate is great! Very kind women both, and they speak fluent Spanish and English. Highly recommend for great local-made chocolate.
Devin D — Google review
The absolute best! Stopped by this gem on our cruise port stop. Mindblowingly delicious vegan/dairy free and gluten free chocolate options. The shop keepers were so kind and knowledgeable. I wanted to buy everything and left very happy with my truffles and Mexican sipping chocolate. This place made my day! You won’t regret stopping here.
Stephanie A — Google review
Delicious gem in Cozumel! These chocolates are very high quality and the flavors are delicate and unique. I wasn't able to stay and savor my treats this time, but they packaged up my purchase very well and it made it all the way back home safely in January. Note that these chocolates are plant-based/vegan, so no cream or butter. Some ganaches have a mild coconut flavor because of this. I was worried about the chocolates tasting like sunscreen, but they did a good job of balancing that flavor so it complimented the natural chocolate without overwhelming it. (I think removing the dairy also extends the shelf life of the chocolates without refrigeration, but I am not sure there.) In my rush to return to my ship, I completely forgot to buy their drinking chocolate mix, which was wonderful! Next time I find myself near Cozumel, I will definitely stop by for more.
Sarah W — Google review
Exceptional, handmade, artisanal, the real deal. Offering truffles, bars, nibs from sweet to less sweet, most truffle options are gluten free with the exception of 2 flavors. The owners are delighted.
Adam R — Google review
This is a very addictive little shop hidden away from tourist Centro hosted by the very charming Cicillia. Walk to wall freshly made on site chocolate delights including liquid center candies, cocoa & giant chocolate chip cookies. The prices are little high but pure Mexican chocolate isn’t cheap. If you really want it, you’ll buy it; I did. Recommend.
MAD T — Google review
Amazing range, taste and hand made genius from bean to bar. Unlike other places and chocolate tours, this place actually grinds its own beans and makes chocolate from scratch... true chocolatiers! I'm not usually that much of a chocolate lover but this place has changed my mind and everyone walked out happy, with quite a few boxes and big smiles on their faces. There's something for every taste bud, truffles, a great range of fillings and all of the milk, dark and white chocolate you can eat.
Bel W — Google review
Really enjoyed the high quality chocolate found here. Some unique flavors that you may not find anywhere else. You can tell the owners care about the product. The chocolates we picked up paired perfect with our red wine later in the day. Highly recommend finding this place in your journeys.

Chocol Ha is a charming dessert cafe located in Campeche City, Mexico. Nestled inside a historic stone-walled colonial building, the cafe exudes an inviting aroma of French pastries and decadent cocoa that fills the narrow streets. The interior features small wooden tables and an assortment of antiques, including a vintage cash register still in use. The owner's inspiration for the drink recipes stems from her research into Mayan traditions and interactions with local families.
This place never disappoints! We've been to Campeche at least three times and every time we stop here to eat. Friendly service, amazing food. Often hard to find really great coffee in Mexico but here, it's fabulous!! My husband and I each ordered crepes I went for the ham and cheese, he went for the chocolate and banana. We split, both were wonderful. The atmosphere is also very peaceful, despite being very busy. We stopped here for a latte or cappuccino in the afternoon. We will be back again next trip through the city.

Charming says it best for the location and atmosphere. Very comfortable to sit and relax and indulge. This is a must do in Campeche and right on 59th Street.

What a great place to enjoy a nice evening! This location has a colonial - modern twist. Great great great location. The drinks we had were very refreshing the ambience was perfect and the gift shop is perfect! Mariana was an excellent host.
Liliana M — Google review
I ended going here with a friend. The atmosphere and drink were excellent. The service and management were not good. The reason being. I ordered a hot drink. The server bought me a frappe. I check with my friend about the order and he confirmed what I had said (he would have told me if I was wrong too). Since the drink was already made I asked the waiter if he could give a discount since he said they would charge him if I changed my order. He went to the manager and they said 10% off the wrong ordered drink. I only accepted because I was with a friend and did not want to make a big deal about the mistake. To be honest, everyone makes mistakes. I wanted to see how and if they would do better and they failed. There is a cost to making a product or providing a service, that is understandable. When you make a mistake you should own responsibility and I feel like this was not the case with the management or server. Bad service. I left it open to them to decide and believed it should have been 50% off the drink but honestly since I did not order it they could have just taken it back. I did not make a big issue but yes, they deserve 1 star for this bad decision making and mistake. My friend said a frappe and crape were too sweet. The drink they mistakenly gave me was good but I likely would have enjoyed the drink I ordered more.
Nick L — Google review
nothing was majorly wrong. the staff doesn’t really speak english. the coffees were really good, however the frappe was mostly ice and the sorbets had quite a lot of ice also. but the juice was marvellous!!
Ema M — Google review
Perfect atmosphere and lovely staff. I had the iced chile chocolate and an almond milk cappuccino (believe both were vegan friendly as the chile drink is made with water) and both were absolutely delicious. The inside was air conditioned which was a welcome reprieve from the hot day, and I migrated outside when it cooled off. It’s giving secret garden. Beautiful spot. They also sell chocolate and coffee, among other small gifts - a nice touch.

Aldo's Gelato is a must-visit spot with its delicious and generously sized servings. The bubble waffle specials are a hit, freshly made to order and a favorite among kids. Service and food quality are excellent! We had different ice cream flavors, smoothies, and milkshakes and all were delicious. We actually went back before we headed back to the resort. Air conditioned location which is perfect for tourists to catch a break from the heat of la 5a!

BUBBLE WAFFLE CONES!! OH MY! We went to over priced Hagen Daaz the first day, mediocre service for way overpriced ice cream. Aldo's is delicious and good size servings. Our grandkids ordered one of the bubble waffle specials and wow! They wanted them for breakfast and dessert every day. They make the waffles when you order, so they are always fresh. Like most Italian Gelato, They have true to taste ingredients. There are at least 3 of these on 5th Ave...treat yourself!

Service is poor and prices are way overrated. The ice cream looks good but the taste is average.

Nestled in the charming Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, Jessie Gelato is a delightful gem that specializes in authentic Italian gelato. This beloved spot has captured the hearts of both locals and visitors with its commitment to quality, using only fresh ingredients for an unforgettable taste experience. With a diverse selection of flavors—including gluten-free options—there's something for everyone to enjoy. The friendly owner, Martin, often greets guests personally, adding a warm touch to your visit.
Absolutely amazing place. Lovely gentleman who was well travelled and had great conversation. The standard and flavours of the ice cream and sorbets were exceptional. Highly recommend and worth the walk to find it. Will be back again tomorrow!

Unbelievable gelato. Top quality stuff here! When I saw the price, one of two things had to be true: 1) The gelato was authentic and delicious 2) I was getting scammed I'm sure based on other reviews you've seen, I was not scammed. This gelato was worth every penny! I've taken a gelato making class in the past where I learned how important it is to maintain gelato at the correct temperature to maintain its consistency.. They do it right here at Jessie Gelato! Friendly staff, amazing flavours and generous scoop sizes! I would definitely come back here again! P.S. - the surrounding area is beautiful for a walk!

This is BY FAR... the BEST gelato we've ever had. All made fresh every day. So silk, smooth and tasty!!! The owner was there and told us how everything is made fresh. The employees were so very nice and had us taste a few gelato before making our selections. I had THE best vanilla gelato. My brother had the mint one and also his BEST ever. Do not go to Puerto Aventuras without going to Jessie Gelato!! A MUST DO.

The concierge at our hotel recommended Jessie Gelato to us, describing the hurricane procedures sign outside (Evac Plan: Grab a Gelato and Run like hell). We were so excited to find it and blown away at how delicious the gelato was. It is the best gelato I've had in a long time, if not ever. We tried two different flavors and they were equally great.

Panna e Cioccolato is a popular gelato shop in Tulum, offering rich and flavorful gelato that allows the natural ingredients to shine. Their fruity flavors like guava, coconut, and passion fruit are highly recommended. The small shop has a few chairs outside for seating, and their affordable prices make it a great spot to enjoy delicious ice cream while watching the crowds.
Absolutely amazing! The selection of flavors is incredible, and every scoop I’ve tried has been rich, creamy, and delicious. My favorite flavors are Ferrero Rocher and Cafe de Olla. The staff is friendly and attentive, making every visit a great experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and perfect for enjoying a sweet treat. Definitely my go-to spot for ice cream in Tulum – highly recommend!

Fantastic ice cream. Came back the next night because we were so amazed by the unique coffee flavour ice cream that we needed to come back to have it again. Pistachio was so good too and didn’t have that artificial taste to it.

Ah Cacao Chocolate Café, established in 2003 in Playa del Carmen, is a haven for chocolate enthusiasts. It offers a wide range of delectable chocolate treats and drinks, perfect for a leisurely afternoon. The café takes pride in Mexico's rich chocolate heritage and features an extensive selection of Mayan criollo chocolate made from Mexican cacao with fruity and nutty flavors.
We were staying near La Isla mall and were looking for a coffee shop other than Starbucks. We found it at Ah Cacao. In fact, after finding it on a second day, we came back each day until we left. The staff was super nice. We always ordered Latte and it was really good. We tried all the desserts, my favorite was brownie, followed by brownie. It’s really good. Chocolate croissants was also good while cheese cake and carrot cake were just okay. Chocolate tamale is different, not my favorite but interesting if you haven’t tried it before. Prices are very reasonable as well, ranging from about $4 to $7 per cod coffee (depending on size) and you can pay by credit card as well. There is also a nice outside seating area and a photo opportunity by the swing. In addition, we also purchased some natural chocolate for presents. Sometimes they have some samples to try but it’s really good. Overall highly recommended.

I decided to visit after seeing numerous ads on Instagram. The café itself had a cozy atmosphere and was quite crowded. I waited in line to place my order, reviewed the menu, and chose a mocha frappé — since their specialty is cocoa-based drinks — along with a ham and cheese croissant. After paying, the cashier politely offered me a membership and took the time to explain its benefits. I declined, mainly because there were many people waiting behind me. I went upstairs to find a seat and waited for my order to arrive. The ham and cheese croissant was toasted but slightly soggy, with an overly buttery taste that I did not enjoy. The mocha frappé, despite being one of their signature items, was far from extraordinary — a drink I believe could easily be replicated at any café, without the “specialty” label, and at a lower price. What left the worst impression was being asked if I wanted to “add service,” essentially prompting for a tip, much like in a sit-down restaurant. For me, this speaks very poorly of the establishment. Personally, I would not return under any circumstance.

Mexican Chocolate Shop is different and interesting. Chocolate Tamale specially is a unique experience. Their Cafe Americano Frappe was light and refreshing on a warm day but still energizing. The Brownies were OK. Overall good experience and a must visit place in Cancun Hotel Zone.

This is a great little cafe! The staff are sweet and the prices are decent. The coffee was delish! And there's lots of great chocolate items to look through and buy. Definely check it out!

Ah Cacao is one of the best coffees that I have ever had! I loved their mochas so much that I actually walked 4 miles every day from my hotel to get one. The quality of the chocolate and coffee beans they use is outstanding! Once you have had Ah Cacao, it will be difficult to drink Starbucks again. They also put art on their drinks, and I loved receiving coffees with panda bears, flowers, and heart shapes. I definitely look forward to returning to Ah Cacao the next time I am in Cancun!
Megan M — Google review
Having just finished dinner we decided to stop by Ah Cacao for some after dinner sweets and drinks. The store had a warm cozy atmosphere with cacao products displayed all around. The staff were incredibly friendly and able to answer any questions we had regarding thier products. The deserts and drinks were delish, though the cacao used has some very prominent fruity notes to it which we weren't expecting. Still, this was a fantastic little place and I definitely recommend giving it a shot.

This is by far the best Chocolate store you can find in the area, tons of flavors, sizes and prices , is a lovely place to have a Coffee (the taste is unbelievable) I will pick the brownie as the best dessert. I recommend to come here in the afternoon (weather and sunset)

The Starbucks of Mexico as it is colloquially known! They have some great chocolate that they will give you free samples of. Also, their Mayan drinking chocolate is not to be missed. The coffee is also way better than Starbucks in my opinion, but their specialty is definitely all around chocolate.

We visited Chouxchoux twice, and both times the experience was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious, and the location is really charming. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We took a breakfast deal with American pancakes with a side of salad. The portions of both were incredibly small. The pancakes didn't taste good at all and the salad was also two lettuce leaves with a bad sauce. I ordered watermelon juice which was nice and a hot chocolate milk (with oat milk) that came cold (with ice) and with little chunks in the milk. They forgot to bring us the salad. The waiter also checked his phone while we ordered. Plus he spoke really quick and didn't really listen to us. He was elsewhere mentally. That was rude.

The prices are reasonable, starting at 55 pesos for one scoop. The chic and trendy restaurant has three locations in Tulum, each featuring minimalistic decor.
It was the best, most flavorful latte I've had in a long, long time (there's decaf too.) Having made a number of visits over the last month I can confirm they are consistent in the quality of their coffee, paninis, and top-notch friendly service. A few times I've had the turkey croissant panini. It comes on a huge, fresh croissant with real mozzarella. Yummmm! Try the gelato too, lots of flavors. It's on the main street and within a 2 or 3-minute walk from the bus terminal. Enjoy!

I loved it here. It’s right off a main strip where you can see people walking up and down. I ordered a waffle with strawberries and gelato and enjoyed it. The place was nice and neat. I stopped by around 10pm on Tuesday night and found it quite relaxing.

Great spot right on the main street! Outdoor seating only. Food is well presented but I can’t give it five stars. We got Salmon on baguette and a Bowl with poached eggs. Eggs were hardboiled, not poached, and everything kinda lacked flavor. We’ve been waiting for food for about 30 minutes! Another thing that is kinda bothersome is that sellers from the street come to your table and try to sell their stuff. I understand that it’s a busy street and I wish I could help all the locals make their living but it is rather annoying when you are eating, there should be some kind of policy or at least a sign about soliciting. Overall it’s a cute place, their menu is great, coffees are really good, staff is friendly, and it’s also a gelato spot!

Desserts are delicious and the staff is friendly. It's a good place to enjoy a cup of coffee and have a good conversation with someone. In my opinion, they should improve some of their cold coffee drinks. They also offer a variety of ice cream, I didn't try it but it looked really tasty🤭

This place has delicious Belgian waffles with really good gelato. We ordered the coffee flavor gelato and it tastes very smooth, full of coffee and not too sweet. I highly recommend this place for breakfast.

There was a powerful storm in the area and they still came to work and opened on time. They have an English menu if needed but honestly it overwhelmed me with so many items to select. Great quality gelato hand-made on-site, incorporating a selection of superb local flavours (maracuya, coconut, strawberry/peach) fabulous classics (pistachio, marzipan, chocolate) and inventive over-the-top creations (tramontina, snickers, key lime pie). And quite reasonably priced! The perfect treat after a hot day at the beach, and the perfect location - only steps away from the idyllic Puerto Aventuras Beach Club beach. With generous portions, great service and special pricing for the little ones you really can’t go wrong. I'm a local and a semi regular and have recommended La Brioche on 38th street to many people. I'm a fan. Generally the service is attentive and friendly. Any place can have an off day, but today was bizarrely bad. The wait service was awful. Almost non existent. And they were not at all busy. I had chilaquiles con pollo and two cappuccinos. The chilaquiles con salsa roja were tasty enough but dry. Not much salsa. Asked for a lemon tort (they have dreamy lemon torts) for dessert. Waitress said she would check with the kitchen and let me know if they had any. She never came back. After waiting around 20 minutes I realized the tort was not happening so asked for the check. Check arrived with a line item charge for the missing lemon tort. I explained it had never been brought to my table and asked that it be removed from my bill. This was done but took another long wait for the corrected bill to arrive. Asked for a toothpick before leaving. Another long wait and nothing. Finally I got the waitress's attention and asked again about the toothpick. She apologized for forgetting. She then disappeared for another few minutes only to finally return to say, "Sorry, we don't have toothpicks." It was one waitress in particular who forgot to bring the tort and forgot about the toothpick. The other two were not attentive but seemed sweet and friendly. They seemed a bit dominated and intimidated by the repeatedly forgetful one. I suspect there was disagreement or quarreling among the wait staff as to who was in charge of my table. Seemed chaotic and was very different from the usual good experience. Strange vibe today. I am a habitual tipper of at least 20%. Not today.

We looked at their reviews and were puzzled with the mix menu between a french patisserie and local breakfast. It was raining in PDC and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The coffee was good, but that was it. The croissants were not fresh, the baguette was average, and the omelette with spinach and goat cheese.... well, not exactly my style. Although, there were few customers, the service was slow and uncared. They did provide with insect repellent when asked for, thanks for that.

The best gourmet latte I have ever had! the staff has excellent customer service skills. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing but at the same time entertaining. Great place to work, do home work or just write your personal journal and thoughts.

Stumbled upon this delicious gelato shop and it was scrumptious! We had pistachio, dark chocolate, coffee, and mint gelato and they were all tasty!! We enjoyed tea and dark cherry pie and a pistachio macaroon another day as we had to come back because it was so good. On top of the goodies being a treat the employees were just as enjoyable! They were so helpful, friendly, and kind! Recommend highly!

I love Amorino! The gelato is delicious, with some of the best flavors you can find. The service is very friendly, and the location in Playa del Carmen is perfect with a nice ambience. One thing I really like is that you can sample different flavors before choosing, which makes it fun to try something new. Amorino brings authentic gelato from Italy, and it’s a great spot to enjoy ice cream in Playa.

My kids loved it, tastes homemade. Adorable shop and great flavors. Me and my husband ordered the coffee flavor and my daughter got the raspberry and my son got nutella and tiramisu. We all ate it in minutes, definitely gonna miss this place. Workers work nice and inviting.

Amorino 🍦 is one of my favorite gelato spots! They always have such a wide variety of flavors, and I especially love the pistachio and the milk chocolate or hazelnut , they’re absolutely delicious 🤤. You can also try the flavors that you want! The stuff is kind! I’ve also tried Amorino abroad, in places like Portugal and Spain, and the gelato there was just as amazing 🇵🇹🇪🇸. Another thing I love is how beautifully designed their shops always are, from the cozy atmosphere to the elegant presentation, it feels special every time ✨. Another plus - in this spot of amorino there is a place for kids, to play and have fun (a small one though, but still) The only downside in Playa is that the gelato is quite expensive 💸, which is a bit of a bummer. Still, the quality and flavors make it worth indulging every now and then! ❤️

Por qué no? Gelato Artigianale is a must-visit spot in Holbox, just a block away from the beach. Visitors rave about the delicious and creamy gelato served in generous portions, making it great value for money. The variety of exotic flavors and the authentic Italian ice cream experience make it a standout choice for those craving a sweet treat while on holiday. Despite some feedback on service and signage, this artisanal gelato shop remains a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
I came here everyday when I was in Holbox. They give little different varieties of tastes everyday. And it's real hand-made. They always gave me big scoops of ice cream. The taste is just amazing as well.
Hyein P — Google review
Then in house made ice cream is amazing. Went here must days of the week in Holbox with our kids. The only downside was the service when two girls were working as they didn't break conversation or look at us while serving. The gentleman who owns or manages the place is great but these two girls offered horrible service which tainted the experience our kids.
Brian ( — Google review
My favorite ice cream shop in town. They have long hours in case you feel like eating an ice cream for dinner. The staff is very friendly and they have a great selection of flavors, different each day. Ask for the server’s favorites, he knows his business well.
Barbora Š — Google review
We visited few icecream places while staying at Holbox in March 2018 and this one has the best tasting Italian ice cream with natural flavours. The portions are at least twice as big as other popular ice cream place on Main Street, this one is hidden on side street off main square and with closed sliding door it's hard to notice...
Tomas B — Google review
Delicious gelato. I stayed in Holbox for 3 days and tried several ice cream places. Other places have gelato that is just as good, but this place offers excellent gelato, serves the biggest portions and offers the best value for money. So if I have to pick a winner, then this is definitely the best gelato in Holbox. Only suggestion for the owner is to change the decor/sign outisde the store. You can walk next to it and not realize that they sell gelato.
Jaime C — Google review
Saw the reviews and had to try it myself! It was awesome. I'm not sure if I was speaking to the owner or an employee when I visited but either way the customer service was good. Make sure you visit this place.... its better than all other gelato stands
Dorcas J — Google review
When you’re on holiday, sometimes al you want is a nice icecream. Just as good is it would be at home. Here in Holbox however the icecream is much beter then in the Netherlands. Real italian icecream in the most exotische flavor’s. Creamy, fruity, incredible. After discovering porque No we CAME back every day to get an icecream. So If you are in Holbox and you like icecream go there. I recommend it
Adriaan B — Google review
Generous portions, amazing taste, reasonable price, a « must try » when in Holbox. The sign of the store is not really visible from the street, we were lucky to find it randomly, that was a great surprise.

Wabi Gelato is an artisanal gelato shop located in Valladolid, offering a fusion of Yucatecan and Mediterranean flavors. The menu is updated daily to provide a wide range of options, from classic choices like chocolate and mango to more unique flavors such as toasted almond or limon with habanero chile. Customers praise the exquisite taste and freshness of the gelato, with some highlighting the friendly service and welcoming atmosphere.
Such a fantastic ice cream place you have to visit! Recommended by a travel blog I follow I went this evening to try their ice cream and was wowed - the flavours are incredible and probably some of the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted! I had: Jamaica, piña and banana (my favourite!) I would 100% recommend visiting this hidden gem!

The most AMAZING ice cream from this gorgeous little shop. We went back 3 times in our visit to Valladolid, the loveliest of staff too. They have a range of different flavours that change daily, almond ice cream was delicious .

I have eaten a lot of gelato across the world and keep a tally of my favourite ones. This has definitely made it into my top 3 experience, something I didn't expect to happen in mexio! It really is gelato, not ice cream. We had lemon & guava and chocolate & almond. Both were super fresh, you could taste that they were made with real, fresh ingredients. The texture of the gelato was perfect. We will be back and would reccomend everybody gives this a go at least once.

Honestly, the best pistachio gelato I’ve ever had!! Didn’t expect to find it in Valladolid. Lovely staff, family owned & run, nice atmosphere inside the shop too. Plus you can get up to 3 flavors in 1 cup for the same price, and make your dream combo :’)

You can’t miss the opportunity while in Valladolid to visit Wabi Gelato. Such an amazing gelato with real creamy consistency that only a gelato should have. Everyone should also try the espresso coffee! The lady and the guy behind the counter really know their business!

A MUST VISIT WHEN IN VALLADOLID ! I am gonna be dreaming of the Affogato everyday till we visit again! Spent 2 days in Valladolid and we had Wabi Gelato both days, I found this gem by mistake, and ohhh I was not disappointed! As per my understanding, new flavors are added frequently, we tried 3 flavors and the Affogato, all were mouthwatering from the taste to the texture and consistency just amazing! The interior is very cute, it’s giving old town European ice cream shop! The owner is such a sweetheart, you can easily tell that she takes pride in the place and is very passionate about her work! Thank you for the restaurant recommendations you gave us, and thank you for being so pleasant and welcoming!

El Gallinero Du Chocolat is a great place to get coffee and pastries in the Playa del Carmen area. The food is fresh and tasty, and the prices are reasonable. The service can be a bit slow, but it's still worth checking out.
We went at this place almost every days of our stay in Playa for the breakfast. Products are fresh and tasty and we espacially recommend the juices (yellow juice is awesome), french viennoiseries (pain au chocolat, croissants etc) and the omelettes of the house (the goat cheese and spinach is delicious)! Very good quality to price for Playa and nice place to rest away from the quinta.

Bakery
Zermatt Bakery, or PANADERÍA PASTELERÍA ZERMATT, is a delightful gem that has been charming visitors since the 1980s. This family-run establishment offers an array of freshly baked goods that are simply irresistible. From their warm bolillos and teleras to scrumptious conchas, every bite feels like a treat from home.
We LOVE this bakery. Some of the freshest pastries and bread we tried on the island. Their conchas are wonderful and the cup of coffee was pretty good too. All the staff are so kind, and the atmosphere was very clean. We like to enjoy a snack on the patio, then take a big bag of pastries home for future breakfasts. They carefully wrap each pastry airtight, so it stays fresh for days. The banana and carrot bread are delicious. And those chocolate chip cookies are bomb!
Rachelle N — Google review
The bolillos are so good, and like $7 MX. Super cheap. Pastries are more like $15-$25MX. I tried a whole bunch of them, but the bolillos are the best part.

I love this place. Small bakery, since '80 family run business, Doña Adriana is very nice person, she was running the business many decades with her husband but after his death now their daughters are running the place but if you are lucky you can still meet her there.
Pawel L — Google review
My wife and I stopped to enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry. We wanted to share them as we already had lunch. We were told to leave unless we each purchased a least a cup of coffee and a pastry each. There was no one else in any of the outside tables. There is not a sign saying there is a minimum purchase to sit at a table. So off we walk carrying a not very good, too hot cup of coffee. Not impressed. Will not be seeing our business again. I don't know if the pastry is good, since I am still looking for a place to sit and eat it.
Jay M — Google review
One of my favorite places to set and enjoy a pastry, break, or cake in the mornings. They make the best bolillos/teleras on the island and they are amazing when they just come out of the oven. Don't miss the breakfast pizza/pastry, chocolate muffins, or oatmeal cookies. The coffee is okay (cheaper canned coffee) but they also have a nice selection of juices and water to take with you or enjoy on the veranda. A popular hangout for ex-pats, snowbirds, and gringos traveling through the area.
Martin K — Google review
Double the price of other bakeries. The older lady that runs the place gets all weird and yells at you to get out in Spanish if more than 2 people are in there. Still afraid of getting sick 3 years later. She NEVER comes to work on time to open up. Pastries are ok. Chedraui and Mega have way better for way cheaper.

Sucre Sale is a French bakery and cafe that is famous for its desserts. The owner, Guillaume, and his wife Paula are friendly and always happy to chat with customers. The café has an easy-to-find location just a short walk from the ferry terminal on Calle 2 between 5th and 10th avenue. Along with delicious pastries, cookies, crepes, and pies, Sucré Salé also offers great coffee.
Cozy little spot with really yummy entrees available. Everything tasted fresh and healthy. They’ve got TVs on the sides with advertisements of all the food, so it made it harder to order as everything looked solid. The restaurant itself was a bit tiny, so we were packed in like sardines in a can, but that made it feel more homey! The main courses were great, but the desserts are where this place truly shines. The tarts were phenomenal, we had to take some to-go. I think we ended up trying many of them, but unfortunately didn’t capture in pictures.

We absolutely LOVE this place! I am not exaggerating, this is my favorite restaurant of all time! The service is incredible and everyone is so attentive and friendly. The experience itself is worth it, but the food is absolutely out of this world! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. They have the best tarts and pastry’s I’ve ever had in my entire life. We found this place and have been back to eat every single morning since we arrived in beautiful Cozumel. It was so great, clean and professional. I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend of 5 years but wasn’t sure where. We all loved it so much between the amazing food and chic ambience, I popped the question right in the restaurant after one of the best breakfasts of my life. This place will always hold a special place in my heart and I will be back. You are doing yourself a disservice by not eating here trust me! If I could give it 10 stars I would. Very grateful we found this gem!!!!***** ***P.S.- Very reasonable prices.😊

This place is legitimately the best breakfast place I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating at. Once we found out about this place we didn’t even bother going to other breakfast restaurants. I even proposed to my Fiancé there. We are back stateside but I can’t stop thinking about their tarts. If you’re in Cozumel do yourself a favor and stop in, at least for a tart. They do have meals as well. All in all a magical place that I hold dear to my heart. Each photo is a different morning we had breakfast here.

I like ice cream here because of the AC, it’s on Huayacán avenue & it’s healthy. They have only 6 options of ice cream, 2 vegan, 2 keto and 2 yoghurt. I like the vegan ones with a topping.. they always have cool music and nice staff. They close at 20:00 on weekdays and 21:00 on weekends

Ielo Soft Serve clearly markets itself as more than just a typical ice cream shop. They offer vegan, keto, yogurt‑based, and gluten-free friendly options, which is a big plus if you have dietary preferences or restrictions. they emphasize lower‑calorie options, no cane sugar/corn syrup (as some mention), and options for special diets gives it an edge in Cancuns dessert scene. They are located in Av. Huayacan (SM 311) which is a bit away from the most crowded hotel zone.

We were at this ice cream shop 15 minutes before it opened and we asked to the employee who was finishing preparing the toppings of the ice cream how does the shop works because we kind of figured it was like nutrisa, but he was unprepared, selfish and rude that he didn’t bother to do so, he just kept saying that he was up to open at 12 PM. We do understand that we were 15 minutes earlier as I said, but we also know that we didn’t ask for something out of his hands. He could’ve just explain a little bit of details and then tell us again that she was going to open in 15 minutes. Otherwise he shouldn’t keep the door open before the business does.

Great tasting but really annoying how the exact same order changes price. I buy the exact same thing and the price varies from 120 pesos to 145. Not worth arguing with them but I guess if they need an extra few pesos then cool. Prefer to put it in the tip jar myself than have them overcharge me.

This is a nice ice cream parlor as can be expected from the brand. It is known as a luxurious brand, the same way that a Mercedes-Benz is positioned higher than a Toyota Camry. They were making comments, in Spanish, but little did they know I understand the lingo! Maybe if they want to laugh with customers then they should be a bit more discreet! Or better yet, don't do it at all! I really had to compose myself not to jump over the counter and teach them a bit of manners. The best Gelato 🍨 in isla mujeres, don’t trust negative reviews, it’s just negative people. Just ask before ordering, there’re some water based and the other are simply gelato 🍨😋,che spettacolo 🤌🏻 and Stefano (the owner) is a very very kind and sweet person, it worth the visit just because of him. P.S. They offer Illy coffee ☕️ if you’re fan of the good coffee ;)

Some of the best gelato I’ve had in my life and would would have thought to find it on Isla Mujeres! Of the 7 nights here, I think we went 4 or 5 for their delicious, homemade gelato. It’s run by an Italian guy who speaks pretty good English so he can explain everything to you. I had several different flavors including the chocolate with hazelnut, pistachio, and chocolate chip and each one was delicious. I think you would be hard-pressed to find a bad flavor. The only thing you should know, the scoops are small so order one of the larger sizes to try several flavors! Good thing it’s still much cheaper than what you would find elsewhere.

If you're on the hunt for a sweet treat, look no further than The Key Lime Pie Factory. Nestled near The Westin, this charming spot has become a favorite among both locals and visitors alike, thanks to its mouthwatering desserts. Originally opened by the owner of the Lobster House to showcase his wife's famous Key Lime Pie, this delightful establishment offers an array of homemade goodies that are simply irresistible. The experience here is nothing short of extraordinary; patrons rave about the incredible flavors and generous portions.
This is our second time staying in Cozumel and the pie is what keeps bringing us back. Best key lime pie ever!

I have never had key lime pie before, but my wife wanted it. So we walked across from the Westin to get a small pie. WOW, what an amazing pie! We are going back tomorrow and definitely a spot every time we come here to Cozumel. It's Definitely worth it! Make a special trip here because it is wonderful!

This is a tiny, adorable place with amazing Key Lime Pie! Not overly sweet, but just sweet enough. Every time I am visiting, I have to stop by to purchase a pie. Highly recommend!
Jackie C — Google review
During my two-week stay, I ate here almost every night. The coconut ice cream affogato is a dream. And the merengue on the wonderful key lime pie is the best I've ever had. The woman who operates this dessertery is delightful; you wouldn't think she's a master-class culinary chemist, but she is. I would eat the grilled grouper next door and then stop in for an affogato and a small pie to go every night if I come back.

MUST TRY!!! The best key lime pie you will ever have! Homemade on the island with very specific hours.

I *absolutely L💚VE* citrus desserts, especially key lime & lemon, & I consider myself a bit of a key lime pie aficionado. So I was delighted to find this local little hidden-gem located just a short walk from our hotel! This was Key-Lime perfection! The best key-lime pie I've had outside of the Florida Key's!!! The graham-cracker crust was very flavorful, with a nice, crisp, crunchy texture. The meringue was generous, (but as a nice addition to, & not to the detriment ofú the key-lime filling), was perfectly toasted to a golden-brown. They key-lime filling was the perfect combination of sweet & tart (I hate when they're too sweet, & prefer a nice 50/50 ratio), & was chock full of lime zest- which I L💚VE! Most places skimp on the zest & pulp, & that's if they don't omit it completely. If you're a fan of sweet, tart, & tangy key-lime pie, you won't be disappointed! I *WISH* I had thought to take a picture of the pie before we dove into it, but I didn't.

Nestled in the charming coastal town of Mahahual, Gelatería La Dolce Vita is a delightful gem that promises to satisfy your sweet tooth. This quaint gelato shop and restaurant boasts an impressive array of flavors, including rich dark chocolate and refreshing fruit options. Beyond their creamy gelato, they also serve delectable treats like cheesecake and carrot cake, with gluten-free choices available for those with dietary restrictions.
A million stars for this place! We stopped by every single night😂. The cherry cream was my favorite but the lemon/lime was also popular. Be careful on days the cruise ships come in, they can literally run out!

Coffee was very strong, but the frozen tea was done in a way I've never seen. Basically that iced tea was a normal tea bag, that we selected, with added ice before it was entirely brewed and the tea bag left in. Nice view thou and good prices as we paid not even $10 for iced tea, iced coffee and a large bottle of water.
J K — Google review
In short: good coffee side note: for an ice cream and coffee place it would be nice to get coffee in an actual cup. And a signal when the coffee is ready to be picket up your self. (Or actual table service in low season)
Mercy H — Google review
Good place to get a morning coffee when you're in a hotel nearby. They open very early. But do not get fooled by the nice pictures outside. The coffee is good, the croissants were old and stale. The staff is very slow, and a bit chaotic. But the prices are good, and like I said, good coffee with a view.

I was staying nearby and came here every day for my morning coffee. Coffee is delicious and each cup is freshly ground. The outdoor tables are also a great place to sit, do some people watching and watch the world go by along the malecon.

Is it the best gelato? No. You’re in Mexico. But it’s definitely a good second choice.

Small place with good ice cream (they even have dark chocolate), very delicious smoothies (all very fresh and you should definitely try the mango smoothie), great coffee with vegan milk alternatives such as coco, soya and almond milk. Also try the crepes, they are fresh prepared in front of you and you can choose between fresh fruits, ice cream or Nutella as a sweet topping!

Only gelato place in town. Great flavors. They offer waxed paper cups, but if you are environmentally friendly you should ask for the cone. Get extra napkins since you will be dripping. The places is not expensive and the service is just your standard Mexican service.

Located on the island, ParadICE-Cream stands out as the best ice cream spot with a wide selection and convenient location. Visitors can enjoy delicious flavors like peanut butter, Ferrero Rocher, berry, and pistachio while catching a local basketball game across the central square. The high-quality gelato and Mexican ice cream make it well above average. The passionfruit sorbet is a favorite among patrons despite being slightly pricey.
The ladies at paradICE were awesome! Even though our Spanish was terrible, they worked us through ordering and paying. We got 2 scoops and a milk shake and both were delicious.

Gelatto Café Av. Tecnológico is a casual spot in Cancun that serves up crepes, sandwiches, and desserts. It's known for its Italian ice cream and also offers delicious coffee. The café has a nice setup with spacious tables, making it perfect for groups. While some find it a bit upscale and pricey, others appreciate the professional service and great food presentation. The menu is varied and the portions are generous, ensuring that diners leave satisfied.
Very bad misunderstanding at first and useless arguments from the server. So we came here for two drinks and for some reason they have the same drink in hot and cold version. I pointed at the one I wanted as I don't speak Spanish but my husband mentioned the name of the drink for me. Then he asked for a second drink for him and the server summarized the order by mentioning my drink with an extra shot of espresso. He responded no, the espresso is a seperate drink as it is a for him to drink by himself. The waiter asked hot or cold and he said hot. So I believe he thought that both drinks were hot. Absolutely not our thoughts if he made himself conclusions. Then our drinks arrived. Mine arrived in a hot version and I was surprised as I wanted a frappe (cold), the one I pointed in the menu. The server was arguing and basically wanted us to pay extra for changing the drink. This was unbelievable. Very bad customer service. I got upset and asked him to leave and leave me with that hot drink that I didn't want in the first place. However, he came back to the reason and changed the drink for me. I am sure they simply kept the hot version and added the ices to make it cold. So it shouldn't have any waste. Hopefully. Anyway uncessary arguments with client. I am still putting a 5 stars despite of bad experience at first because at the end they change the order and only charge what I owe. The drinks were good. The restaurant was clean. And the atmosphere pleasant. Please ensure that your employees remain respectful and be more understanding. I have been to many places abroad without speaking the languages and I won't say it but the server did/ didn't do a mistake but will only stick to some “misunderstandings” (my husband spoke Spanish so no language barrier excuse here) because I don't want to be mean but for sure this server must learn better customer services and admit misunderstandings instead of accusing us wrongly. The worst part is that I pointed at what I wanted in the right Frappé section. Any way make sure you repeat 2-3 times if your drink is hot or cold because they can get confused so easily there it seems. The other person that serve us and bring us the bill was very professional and has the sense of customer service. I appreciated it.

I have ordered this before and it was so much better. Now, it was horrible. It taste just like it looks on the pictures. Horrible. Thank you for wasting my money and time. The toast was not even toasted just put in the pan with the old and burnt grease. Look how big of a chunk the cheese is and not even heated! I live 5 min from the Gelatto Cafe and they managed to serve me my food cold. And since I don’t have gas at home atm I couldn’t even heat it up. Btw it’s still in my fridge if you guys want to see it.

Amorino Cancun was a highlight of my trip! I treated myself to their signature flower-shaped gelato with a mix of passion fruit and chocolate—an unexpectedly perfect combo. The passion fruit was tangy and refreshing, while the chocolate was rich and velvety, creating a delicious balance. La Cozumelena is an absolute must if you're spending a few days in Cozumel. We stopped in for breakfast one morning. We noticed that it was full of locals getting a meal in before heading to their jobs and just KNEW this was the place to eat. Our server was very friendly and double checked on us through the meal. We started off with some coffee and one of their fresh juices (delicious). They also have an extensive list of smoothies if you're feeling like something lighter/healthier to start your day. We then split two breakfast entrees: huevos motulenos and huevos jarochos. Both of these dishes are specialties of the area that I would highly recommend you try. Our favorite was the huevos jarochos which are like little breakfast enchiladas. There's also a bakery connected if you want some coffee and a pastry. If we find ourselves in Cozumel again, we are 100% going to pay this place a visit.

The plantain and bean tostadas were AMAZING! I didn’t think the fajitas were anything special, but they’re not bad by any means. The cappuccino was also quite good, as was the fruit plate. Prices are very reasonable too. They have an English menu, but the staff don’t speak English so plan on some difficulty communicating if you want anything special (such as a nut allergy, iced coffee, bring one dish out first, etc.). You’ll have to ask for the English menu, the one online from the QR code isn’t English.

I chose one with bacon and melted cheese. It was already cold, and the cheese got a little hard, but it was good. I also chose a cinnamon snail, which I heated later in my electric oven at home, and a chocolate bar that I ate until Sunday. I had huevos benedictinos, fresh squeezed orange juice and for dessert I got a delicious white chocolate mousse tart that had a pear purée made with white wine and rosemary! Trust, it was delicious! We were celebrating a birthday and the owner brought over a chocolate eclair for the table. I was very impressed and will be bringing all my out of town guests to this place!

Charming Hidden Gem Bakery with Delicious Eggs Benedict—Small Portions, Big Personality This cozy little bakery turned breakfast spot is a bit of a hidden gem in Playa del Carmen. It’s tucked into an older building that carries a lot of character, and the interior is just as charming. Think vintage architecture meets artsy café—walls adorned with local paintings that are actually for sale, mismatched furniture that feels intentional, and a laid-back, creative vibe that invites you to linger. From the outside, you might easily pass it by. The storefront is understated and gives off the impression that it might be closed—but don’t let that fool you. Once you step inside, the space opens up with a warm, welcoming energy that makes you feel like you’ve found a secret spot known only to those in the know. One of the bonuses here: parking is available out front, which is a real convenience in Playa where street parking can sometimes be a challenge. I came here with one mission: to try the Eggs Benedict I’d seen online. The photos looked promising, and the use of baguette instead of a traditional English muffin had me curious—especially since this is a bakery, and bread is clearly their thing. Fortunately, the dish delivered. The eggs were perfectly poached, the hollandaise was rich but well-balanced, and the baguette had a nice crunch that held up well to the sauce without getting soggy. It was a simple dish done right—elegant in its own way. My only real critique is the portion size. The dish was small and came unaccompanied—no greens, no potatoes, no little extras. It felt more like a gourmet tasting than a full meal, which might leave some people wanting more, especially at the price point. It’s a bit on the high side for Playa del Carmen, so if you’re looking for value in quantity, this might not be your spot. But if you’re okay with paying a little more for quality ingredients, beautiful presentation, and a relaxed, artistic setting, it’s a great place to treat yourself. Before I left, I spotted a dessert case filled with beautifully crafted pastries and sweets that definitely caught my eye. I didn’t try any this time, but a few of them looked so interesting that I already know I’ll be back to sample them. It feels like the kind of place where you discover new favorites slowly over time. Overall, this is a lovely spot to unwind, enjoy a thoughtfully made breakfast, and soak in some quiet charm. Yes, it’s a bit pricey and the portions lean small—but the atmosphere, service, and flavors make it worth a visit, especially when you’re in the mood to spoil yourself just a little.

Love this place. With in the 7 days of our holiday in Playa del Carmen we visited this Cafe /Belleville Panaderia 4x, the cafe americano so good and the plain croissant is so yummy & better than i had in a french bakery in Leon, Nicaragua😁. Also the bacon -egg benefict is good although it’s bit small but the size is perfect for me. The staff have great customer service. I highly recommend this place. Our visit was between May 29-June 5, 2025. Gloria y Martin Vancouver, B.C., Canada

The best brunch, lunch and patisserie spot in Playa - if not Mexico and beyond. The baked goods and conserves are clearly prepared from scratch with experience and care, making the flavours delicate and complex. The croissants may be the BEST I’ve ever had - so flaky and buttery. The hot menu items are simple yet done extremely well. And the service is next level - Max is just the most gracious and passionate host, creating a flair of European vibes here in Playa. Wish I’d found this spot earlier ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Got the huevos benedict with pulled pork. It was very small on a roll and perfect for a small snack or pick me up with a coffee. Was a bit on the pricey side for 75 pesos, it was delicious though. Also bought a loaf of sourdough and is delicious! Made a grilled cheese with it (that pic is my own cooking)

Great spot. Had the eggs benedict with salmon, the nutella croissant, and the chouquette relleno con maracuya which were all excellent. Also had the omelette with pulled pork which was just ok. The combo of eggs and pulled pork didn't quite work for me.

The Location and ambience is beautiful decorated with wall paintings and artistic work. The red velvet latte and hazelnut coffee were very good The coco but cold drink was average The red macarons velvet macarons were decent but over sweet to us. Italdo is a must-visit spot in Tulum, offering a taste of Europe with its delectable baked goods. The bakery boasts an impressive assortment of treats, including almond croissants and their signature Black Croissant. Locals and tourists alike rave about the high quality of Italdo's breads. Whether you're a bread enthusiast or not, a trip to Italdo Pasteleria promises to be worthwhile.
The desserts and pastries here are truly works of art and equally delicious. Although I’m not typically a coffee drinker, I decided to try a vanilla latte, and it turned out to be of very good quality. The prices are on the higher side, but they are in line with the Tulum market average.

Very cute place ideally for breakfast or brunch. We heard good things about their sourdough so after our breakfast and coffee we asked for a loaf of it with a side of butter. Sit outside.

Want a lite breakfast in the morning, this your place. Oh, and the juice...grab all of them. I love beet juice, and they freshly made a batch in 30 minutes while I was eating breakfast. Please do not leave without trying the juice, and one of the delightful pastries.

Were there for lunch, which was perhaps a mistake as it seems more of a breakfast place : pizza slices are basically leftover, the foccacia was a bit tough, the cheesecake we ended up sending back due to strange taste (waiter said it was due to almond flour, but to us it tasted like product that had been in the pantry for many years...) but they kindly replaced with another different desert.
Minh P — Google review
The fanciest and most delicious desserts! So intricate and flavourful. The bread!!! Like Europe and a taste of the real best bread in Tulum. Staff are so well capacitated and present, very professional. The homemade Kim chi is my favourite gingery fermented jar to take away. So many treasures with so much heart. Once you discover you’ll be back again and again

Every time we visit Italdo, we know we're at the best place in the Riviera Maya. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and welcoming - the aroma of freshly baked bread and coffee fills the air and lifts your mood. The quality of the product is outstanding made with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail. The croissant are simply irresistible - from that classic to the pain au chocolat, from the almond to the baba - all freshly baked every day. Whether you go for a sweet or savory breakfast, for lunch or brunch you can never go wrong. A place where you can have a genuine hospitality. Italdo is simply a must!
Raffaella B — Google review
The service is courteous and I appreciated that. Both times I stopped by, I had my coffee prepared how I like it and the taste was wonderful. I also had two different snacks, a peanut butter cookie and a Madeline. Both nice. The seating isn't so great - it's either inside at a little bar facing the wall or outside on a patio by the street with all the heat/humidity. The bathroom was appalling and I was shocked at how run down and dirty it was. That needs to improve.
Jo J — Google review
Update 2025: Unbelievably pushy sales tactics when we attempted to buy a few pastries. The restaurant is highly focused on full meal sit-down orders and actively discouraging to-go small orders with repetitive aggressive sales tactics. Yet another former gem of “Old Tulum 2021” overshadowed by new, customer service focused restaurants eg Nimeno x4. Sad. Rating reduced and won’t return soon. Fantastic cafe with an Italian flair. Delicious pastries for dining or take out and high end breads. Highly recommended.

The reviews for Heladería Annie Delicias are astonishing! Despite a few criticisms regarding the absence of hand gel and a chocolate ice cream not meeting color expectations, this place offers delectable ice creams, including the delightful mint flavor. Their assortment of beverages is also impressive. It's worth visiting frequently as they have an exceptional Guanabana water popsicle made with genuine fruits.
Delicious range of ice creams and ice lollies and mostly vegan (made with almond milk). Choc chip and cappuccino favours were a great double act

We received the worst service we had since forever in this creamery. We came on a Sunday night with little kids and the men that took care of us was so frustrated because our youngest took a few seconds to decide what flavor he wanted. Then he placed the ice cream on the top of the cone without pushing it down and as soon as my son took it the ice cream fell of the cone. My little one was so sad and this guy was completely careless. There are nice ways to say you must get another one.

El helado de “chongos” estaba DELICIOSO. Excelente relación calidad precio. Don’t pay attention to reviews comparing this icecream vrs magnums. This is artesanal icecream made of real ingredients so open your mind to taste something authentic. If you want to taste gelato this is not your place. Also don’t come and ask for vanilla or chocolate open your mind and try stuff you can only taste here.

I am an ice cream connoisseur and this just did not hit the spot. They were low or out of many flavors. They were very sweet, too sweet. I did not like the texture either. I got a scoop of vanilla and a scoop of chocolate chip. You would think the vanilla would be similar but they were not. The flavor just wasn’t right. Not sour just not what I expected.

Gelato was ok, but the person on the counter exhibited rigidness in our request to split the flavors into 2 separate cups. In addition to that cards are not accepted. ATMs nearby are not reliable as well. And the suggested USD to MXP conversion of 1 : 16 is about 10% different from the bank one of 1 : 17.8.

I usually will choose good pastry over ice cream, but Origami gelato is a-m-a-z-i-n-g. All flavors we tried (almost every day during our 5 day stay) were top notch - ferrero rocher, pistachio, passion fruit, pistachio, chocolate and cardamom... not too sweet, not too rich, just right.

We went here for a quick breakfast and the pastries we got were delicious. The cinnamon roll was maybe a bit sweet (but i guess that’s normal in Mexico) and there were a lot of different flavours in the roll (not just cinnamon but also jam, nuts and chocolate). I had a really disappointing experience at this place. The woman working there (who I believe is the owner) was incredibly rude and had a terrible attitude from the moment I walked in. She acted like she didn’t care at all about her customers, barely acknowledged me, and had this smug smirk on her face the entire time. It felt like I was bothering her just by being there. As for the ice cream, honestly, it wasn’t even good. Watery texture, bland flavor, and definitely not worth the price. Between the poor service and low-quality product, I won't be coming back. Save your time and money, there are much better spots around.

Ice cream is one of the things I look forward to on my frequent visits to Mexico (because of family friends I have been coming since I was 9). And discovering new places (La Moreliana in Valladolid, Tropic here on Isla, even the gourmet flavors such as cherry with pecans at Sta. Clara) is so much fun. I cannot speak for their other flavors but I did not enjoy nor finish my canela here. Ice crystals, thus…. Icy, not creamy. And unpleasant mouth feel So I recommend skipping that flavor if you come here.

We asked a native and they recommended this place. I got a scoop of snickers and a scoop of coconut. OMG, SOOO GOOOD! And the person who helped us was quite nice. 90 pesos for two scoops, quality was ok, don't recommend cheesecake flavor- tastes like yogurt. The ferrero rocher is spot on for flavor. It was 90 pesos for an ice cream bar. I thought it was overpriced for the area and taste. Better to get a paletta from one of the carts for $25 pesos- it was just as good. My son wanted his own cone but she wouldn't give us any type of deal so we just shared 2, 2 scoop cones for the family. It was like $10.50 US. She was rude with attitude. Would NOT recommend, I saw so many better deals.

Four of us ordered gelato here but my kids didn’t like two of their choices which is unusual for them. I asked the woman at the counter for a cup so I could separate the flavours they didn’t want, allowing the rest of us could eat it. However she tried to give me a ceramic mug out of her hand sink (gross!). When I explained that I just needed a paper cup she conferred with another woman and then told me no I would have to pay 50 pesos for the cup. After just spending $20USD I thought this was crazy. With other gelato places in the area that we liked better I’m not going back here. Crazy experience.

The cake was delicious! And they have so many decorations to choose from! I fell in love with some cookies, and she took the time to repackage some so they would all match. I highly recommend this establishment.

Says open until 9pm but was Closed before 8pm Again. We pulled up at just before 8pm. Closed, door locked, i checked and no people visable. So we went a few doors down to the Gelato place. We drove out to this place from west playa area because google maps said you were open until 9pm. Maybe you SHOULD look at your cameras again.

(Translated by Google) Honestly, I was very excited about the order I placed, it was for my daughter's 3 years old, and it seems that they forgot, I arrived at the agreed time and it was not ready, they told me to give them 10 minutes and that if I liked to come back, but Due to the distance I decided it was better to wait and those 10 minutes turned into 1 hour, and in the end although I know the taste will be good, the decoration barely resembles what I requested, I don't like confrontation and I just paid and left, because if not I would be left with nothing to deliver, and I didn't have time to go get something else, but, I'm frustrated because they were something I planned and ordered in advance for a special occasion. If they had told me that they were not ready and told me, we have undecorated, I would have taken them, because I repeat the taste is not the problem, it is the fact that the decoration is not what was requested.

(Translated by Google) Very pretty on the outside but nothing to do with the flavor, in this case it was a cake. I also tried the cookies and a lot of decoration but it lacks freshness and flavor, it tastes artificial. (Original) Muy bonito por fuera pero nada que ver con el sabor, en este caso fue un pastel. También probé las galletas y mucha decoración pero le falta frescura y sabor, sabe artificial.

(Translated by Google) Very bad cake 😔, the topping tasted like pure butter and the filling in between was the same, almost pure fat with a bit of an artificial flavor, the bread was very dry 😔 (Original) Pastel muy malo 😔, la cubierta sabía a pura manteca y el relleno intermedio lo mismo casi pura grasa con medio un poco de sabor muy artificial, el pan muy seco 😔

Ice cream shop
If you find yourself in Campeche, a visit to Helados La Brocha is an absolute must! This charming little ice cream shop offers a delightful array of flavors that are rich and consistent with the fruits or tastes chosen. The ice creams are served at just the right temperature, ensuring they don’t melt too quickly, allowing you to savor every bite. While the prices may be on the higher side, the generous portions make it worth every penny.
Awesome

I did not enjoy my ice cream. The 3 leches was icy and not creamy at all. The maracuyá one was watered down and the nice flavour of the fruit lost in too much water.
Nikko — Google review
Although the ice cream tasted good, it was not the greatest of them all. Also their icecream menu is very large but they dont have half of what they advertise.
Alejandro M — Google review
They are never open at advertised time. Don’t waste your time and money to travel there.

(Translated by Google) They are without a doubt one of my favorite ice creams. The flavor and attention is incredible. Every time I go to Campeche I get to eat one there and I take home at least a liter of queso de pelota. 🤤 (Original) Sin duda son de mis helados favoritos. El sabor y la atención es increíble. Siempre que voy a Campeche llego a comer uno en el lugar y me llevo al menos un litro de queso de bola. 🤤

(Translated by Google) A classic ice cream shop in the city, small but nice, with good service and they handle several products. The tres leches ice cream was very good as well as the sighs. Recommended to go if you are in the area. (Original) Una heladería clásica de la ciudad, pequeña pero bonita, con buena atención y manejan varios productos.
