Confectionery store
Camilo de Blas is a legendary shop in Oviedo, dating back to 1914. It's known for its tender croissants, which are a favorite snack when paired with a good coffee. The interior and exterior of the place are stunning and vintage, making it a must-visit spot in Oviedo. It's famous for its Asturian carbayones and offers an incredible selection of pastries and sweets.
Fantastic shop and all sorts of chocolates and other delicassies.
Marcelo P — Google review
Camilo de Blas is a highly regarded bakery, confectionery and pastry shop. It is as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the stomach even if prices are relatively high (€3.20 for one of the famous local pastries, carbaryone, which is the reason for the three stars). Amongst the wide array of pastries and sweets, there are also savory options. What’s more, there are three small tables inside for seating.
Nanita — Google review
No matter how much you look forward to enjoying dessert, the shop assistants here will only look at you with contempt. It's a very cold dessert shop. The desserts here are not sweet enough to melt this indifference.
Charli B — Google review
THE place for cabayones and its ice cream! Be warn and go early for better service and a full menu of pastry - things get sold out fast and the ladies were a little grumpy when we were there in the late afternoon... they were so to everyone so it ain't just to me.
Jennifer L — Google review
Overpriced, not so great quality candies. And watch out for your change, thay might cheat you if you are a foreigner. Update: They replied to me they do not sell candies, like I was lying or something, but the receipt is pretty clear. We have bought "bombons" which means candies, the cashier took our coins without counting them in our presence, then returned saying we gave them a smaller amount (which is not true). So nothing automated at all. It is not about money (which is a small amount), but about the attitude and how the staff are treating customers. Shop not reccomended.
Daniel P — Google review
I am glad that other reviews mentioned rude staff because I had a weirdly hostile experience here. I went with a friend for the famous carbayones and we waited together in a very slow moving line. The line is only in one half of the store so you can't see any of the other pastries they sell. I went very quickly to look while my friend stayed. The lady working there snapped her fingers, pointed at me, started aggressively pointing at the line and yelled that the line was over there with a really angry expression. I gave absolutely no indication that I was trying to cut, it was very obvious I was just looking. There were other pastries I was interested in but nothing has prices so I had no idea what the other things cost. I ended up just buying a few of the carbayones which were really good. Everyone else in line also didn't buy anything else, maybe if they were allowed to look at the things in the other half of the store, they would! The funny thing is that many other ladies who knew the cashier came in to cut the line and were served first!
Bianka C — Google review
This place is over rated and overpriced, you get better and cheaper cakes in the supermarket. Also, they seem to have more commercial products on their shelves than their home made products. If you are craving for a nice cake, look for another bakery.
Fikri K — Google review
A must stop in Oviedo! Home of the Asturias famous carbayones. The interior—and exterior—are absolutely stunning and vintage. Bought 4 pastries to go and a carbayon ice cream. Got a stomach ache afterwards but that’s probably because I’m not used to eating sweets. A bit pricy but worth it.

Confitería Rialto is an iconic and traditional place in Oviedo, known for its delicious sweets. The carbayones, a typical sweet, and the moscovitas, handmade biscuits, are highly recommended. Located on Calle San Francisco 12, it's conveniently open daily from 9am to 9pm. Situated near the old town and San Francisco park, it offers a perfect stop after exploring the gothic cathedral and medieval plazas.
Moscovitas come in different sets and boxes. They also have a big selection in pastries and cakes. They have a queue system, Don't forget to take your number order wise you are not able to order. They accept card payment.
Anett K — Google review
Confitería Rialto is a bakery and pastry shop with two main parts - a counter to place orders to go and a dining area with small tables. This popular confectionery is best know for the “moscovitas” cookies that come in dark, milk or white chocolate. Other pastries and baked goods including the local favorites - princesas and carbayones - are available in mini sizes, which is ideal if you want to try as much as possible. If you choose to take items to go, take a number and wait your turn. If you want to wait for a seat at a table, stand in line and be patient. Either way, whatever you order, you will be pleased
Nanita — Google review
The counter, people im queue, and the number plate all made it too hard to resist. A cute pastry shop that locals also frequent with friendly staff. There's this pastry that was born in Oviedo called "Carbayón" you must try. ( Which means oak tree in the locla language, and also the people from the region) : 3 fold puff pastry, ground almonds, and a sugar icing lemon and a hint of cinnamon. For those who just want to have a taste, order the tiny "Princesita de Asturia" which is like a tiny version of Carbayón.
Ziv L — Google review
If you're ever in Oviedo, trying a Carbayón here is a must to experience the local flavors👌🏼it’s e a landmark in Oviedo, cherished for its history and high-quality pastries.

Confiteria Rialto is one of the best pasty shops. Normal hours are 09.00 till 21.00. They make everything, and it is so good. Can sit down at back and have a coffee and a bite to eat. This place is next to my apartment, 15 days of peer pleasure.

Mercado El Fontán is a historic market located in the old quarter of Oviedo. The market has a lively atmosphere and offers a variety of fresh produce including vegetables, meat, fish, and bread. Surrounding the market are stalls selling flowers, books, antiques, and more. The building itself is an eye-catching 19th-century structure designed by architect Javier Aguirre.
A traditional market where you can find fresh produce, seafood, meat, cheese, and Sidra (Asturian cider), a local specialty. It is a must-visit for those looking to experience the authentic local culture of Oviedo. The market features modern facilities for a comfortable shopping experience, and outside, numerous street vendors add to the lively atmosphere.
Seokjin H — Google review
Built in 1885, Mercado El Fontan is Oviedo central market serving the city. Flaunting an Art Nouveau style, it is in dire needs of some much needed renovations (just better lighting would do a lot) but let that stop you and entering the fine selection of specialized store. We thought the fish store was especially attractive that day with a wide selection of fresh fish. Free to enter, one of your must-stops while in Oviedo. P.S.: if this review and pictures were useful in planning your visit, please leave a 👍, thank you 🙏
Mister M — Google review
A great covered market in the center of the old town. The main produce for sale is fish though there are meats, vegetables, pastries, grains, and fruit. There are restrooms which you pay to use. This is a feature of Oviedo : free public bathrooms are not a thing.

Awesome fish market in the old town of Oviedo - selection of fish, meats, hams, fruit & Veg plus cheeses and beans. Worth a visit just to see the array of fish and watch them gutting and preparing them.

Im sure its lovely when open but be careful - the opening hours for Sunday are incorrect. Only one shop is open inside
Ruth P — Google review
This is an excellent municipal market. There is a wide variety of fresh and gourmet prepared food. Curiously, while crowded on a Saturday morning, it was much quieter than similar markets throughout Spain that my wife and I have visited the past two years. If you need non-food household items, there's a Mercadona about 200 meters away.

Spanish restaurant
Restaurante El Fartuquin is a historic family restaurant located in the heart of Oviedo, offering a cozy ambiance with wooden beams and stone walls. The menu features authentic Asturian gastronomy, including Spanish bean stew, grilled prawns, octopus cooked with onions, and sirloin fillet cooked in cider. Specialties like fabada, homemade mincemeat with potatoes, and corn cakes are also available.
We heard this region is famous for its beans and cider, and this restaurant came up top of the list. We checked out the premises, and liked the "retro" atmosphere. We decided to take a chance and went in for our dinner. Service was very prompt and efficient. The food was delicious, but we were very disappointed with the "unadulterated" cider :-)! It's not the restaurant's fault - just us not being used to the taste of pure, original cider. The waiters seemed to enjoy their showmanship in pouring the cider from 3-foot above and at looking at the glass when they poured. So, besides the good food, you get a free show as well. Highly recommended!!

Restaurant with good local food. The stuffed cabbage was delicious with the accompanied bell pepper sauce. We tried the scallops and mussels and they were both fresh and tasty. The cachopo is huge and oozing with cheese. We ordered a bottle of cider, but the waiter did not doing the traditional high pour method for us.
Benedict L — Google review
What a phenomenal experience. The servers were so friendly and the food was amazing including the fabada. Now we know why so many famous people visit this establishment, Viva España
Jasmine L — Google review
Visiting from the U.S., we stumbled upon this unpretentious local restaurant that’s been quietly perfecting its craft for 25 years—and what a find. The food was honest, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. Standouts included the filete de solomillo and the cachopo. The wine was excellent, but the real highlight of the night was Jesus, our waiter. Warm, sharp, and genuinely thoughtful, he guided us through the menu with confidence—making fantastic suggestions and, even better, steering us away from over-ordering. He told us plainly, “That’s too much food,” and he was absolutely right. It’s rare to find service this intuitive and unpretentious. Jesus made the meal feel less like dining out and more like being taken care of by a friend who knows exactly what you’ll love. If you’re in Oviedo, don’t miss this spot—and hope that Jesus is working that night.
Pedro W — Google review
Authentic restaurant serving traditional Asturian food where you can see lots of regulars coming in for lunch. The food is very good and portions are generous. They have a daily set menu as well for 23€.
Tatiana B — Google review
Just my type of place. Down home Asturian cooking. Delicious food, quick service, family ambiance. Was the only non-Spaniard in the restaurant, so those not willing to have a real Spanish experience may want to go elsewhere. I'll be back. Yum!
Daniel P — Google review
Had high hopes for this restaurant but maybe the fact there were a lot of free tables when elsewhere in Oveido the restaurants were very busy should have told me something. My wife and I ordered fish dishes and unfortunately they were the most bland dishes we have had. We won't be returning tomorrow evening. The wine was good though.

Brunch restaurant
Quemedás is a restaurant that offers a wide range of vegan dishes and food options, ensuring both great quality and variety. Their menu caters to different meal times such as brunch, breakfast, lunch, and even pasta. They also provide tea and coffee selections, including the option for the biggest coffee available in four sizes. It's worth noting that this place has a quirky London theme. While their breakfast choices are available all day, it seems that there is an emphasis on high sugar cereal options.
The food was delicious! It was finally possible to get some veggies and fresh bread for breakfast instead of just toast. The decor was charming, and the staff was very friendly. I gave one star less because the coffee wasn't the best. Highly recommend!
Patrycja T — Google review
With a heavy heart it’s only a 3. While the brunch concept is taken seriously and the food is good, eggs well cooked (no runny white on the Benedict’s, thank you 🫡) - both of our specials we were extremely happy with. People here in the reviews complain about the waiting times, but was actually stated on the first page of the menu, so it was not a problem for us. The “get your menu and the queue to order” is a bit confusing, but manageable. What was the problem and made me lower the score by two full stars was unfortunately the coffee we got with the order. It was one of the worst coffees I ever had in my life - both of these the same, bitter and undrinkable. It was so bad we had to go to the specialty coffee on the same street right after we left to wash the taste down. Please check with a professional barriers - either your beans or (and) the coffee machine settings, because either it was poorly grinded, or the temperature was too high, or the pressure in the machine is incorrect :( I’m sure you can make much better coffee and ramp the experience up.
Karolina S — Google review
On this day, we literally waited outside until they opened. We weren't the only ones waiting for them to open. I'm upset with myself that I didn't try this place sooner. It was literally across the street from where we always stay. Spent a week there and went to Quemedas 4 times, always for breakfast. The presentation of the food was unlike anything I have seen anywhere else. The first day I asked an employee who the chef was. I spoke to him and told him it looked so well presented that I felt like I was eating a piece of art! :-) Over the course of the week I also met the owner, Jorge. It was obvious why the employees cared so much because he was all over the place and it was obvious he cared greatly that his customers were satisfied. The serving sizes are large and the food was excellent, our entire family agreed. The Gofres (waffle) became my favorite. They have an extensive menu and once I work my way past the breakfast menu, I look forward to trying the other menus. And the entire restaurant, along with the bathrooms, is very clean, which is important to me. You can tell they care! Can't wait to get back there and it will be summer of 2026, if not sooner. Highly recommended! -Tom

Quemedás is a true gem! I fell in love with this place from my very first visit, and now I come here every single day. The food is incredibly delicious, always fresh, beautifully presented, and so photogenic that you want to capture every dish 📸✨. It’s not only a feast for the eyes but also genuinely amazing in taste — and the prices are very reasonable, which makes this café-restaurant truly special. The atmosphere is cozy and light, you really feel at home here. You can tell that every dish is made with love, and that shows in every detail. This place is a real treasure, and I’m happy to call it my favorite. Without a doubt, the best spot in town! 💖 Thanks!
Tatiana S — Google review
Very welcoming and friendly restaurant. Decent prices. I got a large breakfast with eggs and sausages and bacon and baked beans and a little cereal in cream along with orange juice and a cafe con leche for about 11 euros. Everything was tasty and arrived quickly. It's a big restaurant with a large menu, a London theme, and you have to order up front.
H J — Google review
I loved this place so much I went back the next day for brunch! It’s so cute inside and the menus is large, there’s something for everyone. What I loved most was all the vegans options 🤤
Katie S — Google review
It is impossible to find anything without sugar. I got a sandwich with teriyaki sauce. The sauce tasted like honey. Why can’t I just have a savoury sandwich without sugar? :( Ordered matcha with it. Matcha is green tea powder with water. What they gave me wasn’t matcha. Service is slow.
Nadezda A — Google review
The breakfast was really delicious and they have a very good deal where you get food with juice and coffee and mini cake with the breakfast. And the staff was so helpful as they don’t speak English and I don’t speak Spanish but we used translators to make sure we don’t get pork in our breakfast. Because generally it is so challenging to find a place that serves breakfast without pork.

Great little place in the old district of oviedo. Lots of small cafes scatter the surrounding streets. The coffee is hot and creamy. A great selection of cakes, cupcakes, biscuits for both adults and kids alike. Also vegan options available. The music is a blast from the past, 50s and 60s. Perfect.

The place itself is cute, but 5 euros for a ice coffee is ridiculous, as well as 4.5 euros for a iced tea infusion, on top of it it was added a ton of unrequired sugar, after asking what was in it and no sugar was wither mentioned either asked about. Impossible to drink. It's Impossible to find a reason to justify such price for such simple requests. Prices are not displayed. Better avoid it, the city has plenty of other alternatives.

Casa Montoto is a popular spot in Oviedo, located on San Bernabe, 9. It's known for its vermouth and mistela, as well as its delicious bollinos prenaos (chorizo buns). The spacious venue also offers high tables outside for a terrace-like experience. While the decor may be a bit worn, the place exudes a comfortable and friendly atmosphere with good service.
A bit of an institution. I always go to montoto when I am in Oviedo. I suggest you have a bollo de chorizo and a caña.

A good place to visit for a chat, a cheap drink, or just to chill out outside. This is a no frills type of place, what you see is what you get. The decor is old and tired, the selection of drinks and snacks is limited. But....it has good service, the drinks are very cheap and you are welcomed into a place that feels comfortable and friendly. You will see people from all sections of the community, from old to very young, couples to young families. I'd definitely recommend this bar if you're looking for something different. Try the "Mistela" it's very good and at 1€ you can't help but to have at least a couple.

On top of the coffee menu and expertise, which includes roasting its own coffee beans, there seems to be few reviews on the food - so here is one just on the other things 😆 MUST TRY the sandwiches and fizzy bottled juices (from hamburg). As an Asian, I am thoroughly surprised by the kimchi & cheese sandwich; the hummus sandwich was amazing too - can't wait for what new kinds of sandwiches or food it would introduce to the menu. Food goes great with coffee - maybe it can try matching coffee recommendations with the food menu? 😋

Amazing cake and great service. Tiffany and Cake took our cake order within relatively short notice and without us having in mind a specific design. They were able to successfully incorporate all different elements of our party theme into a great composition. All our guests were amazed by the result. Great flavour too! Totally recommended!

(Translated by Google) The cake they made for me was too amazing!!! I will be eternally grateful to you for making my wife, the biggest Dirty Dancing fan of the last century, so happy... The base was Chocolate and Raspberry and was delicious. Very competent prices. Tartas y Arte should be called this magnificent store in Oviedo, run by a charming couple who made it very easy for me from the beginning. It amazed me that they had the same idea as me from the first description. I recommend your visit with a 12 out of 10 and giving a surprise to the person you love is priceless. Top!!! This is absolutely amazing service and an incredibly delicious cake! I want to highlight how attentively they treated me and how precisely they brought my idea to life. My wife and I were thrilled with both the look of the cake and its taste. I honestly consider this one of the tastiest cakes I’ve ever tried — an unusual combination of figs, nuts, and cream, which this bakery managed to blend together in such an interesting way. Everything was exactly as I ordered. Highly recommended!

If you're in Oviedo and have a passion for high-quality baked goods, look no further than Summum Panadería Artesana. This charming bakery has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike, especially for its exceptional sourdough bread. Over the years, it has transformed into a go-to spot for those seeking delicious baguettes with crispy crusts and delightful flavors. The focaccia is another must-try, freshly made each day with an array of tasty toppings that make lunchtime special.
I have been coming every year to Oviedo for the last 8 years (my wife being from here), and being French I love a good bread and croissant. First time I came to Oviedo, there were not much bakeries with good/excellent bread. Over the year I saw the improvement and this bakery, one of the newest, just keep leveling up the quality. I have tried their baguette, which was excellent. Crispy with really nice alveoli and an slight acidic flavor which brings character to the bread. I also tried their croissant, which was beautiful, crispy and fluffy as a croissant should be. I only hope it was a bit more BUTTERY 😜. I really recommend this place

The best panaderia I have visited in Oviedo! The bread and pastries are amazing. The whole grain crackers they sell are probably the best cracker I have ever had. The granola is also exceptionally good. The lady that works there is so friendly and welcoming too.

It's not only 100% gluten-free, it's a place where quality, dedication, and humane treatment are felt in every corner. I want to make a special mention of Carlos, who has served me on more than one occasion with exceptional personality and kindness. The variety of products is impressive, both savory and sweet. Everything I've tried has been delicious, but the avocado, natural tomato, and ricotta toast deserves a special mention. The bread, handmade in their own bakery, is simply spectacular: crispy, flavorful, and with a texture that makes you completely forget it's gluten-free. For those who, like me, suffer from high gluten sensitivity, this place is heaven. The peace of mind of knowing there's no risk of cross-contamination allows you to enjoy every bite without any worries. It's a place where the dedication and care put into the preparation of each product are evident. Without a doubt, La Amaseria is a place I highly recommend. La variedad de productos es impresionante, tanto en salado como en dulce. Todo lo que he probado ha estado delicioso, pero la tosta de aguacate, tomate natural y ricotta merecen un párrafo aparte. Best cookies and biscuits you can find in town, and that's high praise. They also have all kinds of typical Asturian cakes that you might see elsewhere. Had a bad experience there. The service was unfriendly. I do not remember the exact day when we came in the morning, but it was very frustrating to see such attitude. The day before that I had come for the first time and had a much better impression from the Spanish lady that worked only in the afternoon. But that morning a couple of weeks ago it was awful - in addition to the unfriendly service, we paid for a promotional “free” coffee. The coffee did not have sugar, but was not that good if we compare it to other places nearby. Pastries are overpriced for what their value and very sweet. With lots of other options in the area, I cannot recommend visiting this place.

(Translated by Google) In Oviedo there are many sweet bakeries, and even more in the downtown area, which means that if one has been around for a long time it has to be good. This one is. It has many different breads, and all artisanal, of course. From loaves to milk bread, corn or boroña bread, rye... In addition, they have high quality cakes, chocolates and very good puff pastry. Lastly, the two employees are very friendly. If you like quality bread, it is a recommended place to buy it, without a doubt.
