Amazing sandwiches. Prosciutto mozzarella and tomato. spicy ventricina salami baked ricotta grilled peppers mixed salad chili pate spread and two small beers. Bread had sesame seeds. YUM! Place was packed and wildly efficient and service fast. We ended up going inside after lunch and buying more food, bread and goods to go.

Possibly the best sandwich bar in Italy😎🙏 Great service. Amazing quality of food and an amazing shop to spend 15 minutes in. A ginormous sandwich with the freshest and most authentic ingredients made by a guy with a real passion and for €7.

This was our absolute favourite place!! We made this part of our morning routine - we would run in the morning and then end with a coffee and we had two different GO TO meals. Burrata with the zucchini and quince jam! This with the mortadella was insane flavours. We also tried the salad croissants which is where you can choose the same filling as the sandwiches but in the croissants. We also took sandwiches down to the beach one day- we were told that the sandwich bar next door was average and this could be true even though we didn’t try next door! Great staff - a serious institution!!

Enjoyed our roll (fresh, crusty bread) & salad. Very busy place at lunch time on a Friday but great atmosphere.

We had a lovely tasting board, but there was no introduction so no idea what we were eating. Non the less, highly recommend, full of locals, also did some shopping here!

Lovely restaurant with great food and amazing views of the Greek temples. I chose this restaurant because it was close to my hotel, and I was incredibly pleased with both the quality of the food and the stunning views they offer. Whether you’re seated inside or outside, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento. The meal began with a complimentary appetizer of panelle (super good!) and a tasting of their own extra virgin olive oil served with homemade bread (awesome). I then tried the zucchini and ricotta tortino, which was super tasty yet delicate. You could really appreciate the freshness of the ricotta and the subtle flavor of the zucchini. It also features primo sale (a type of cheese) fondue and red shrimp . For the main course, I had the calamarata—a type of pasta shaped like calamari rings, though not made from seafood—prepared with potatoes, veggies, and clams. It was amazing! Truly recommend trying this out!

One of the upscale places in Agrigento and vamous for the views here. Plus! The unique food and fresh pasta. I would definitely recommend a reservation to sit outside and enjoy the solid view of the Valley of Temples

Tasty food, great service, and a beautiful view of the Valley of the Temples. We arrived without a reservation and were still able to get a table. A very pleasant and enjoyable experience overall!

Great service, beautiful view, extensive wine list, mediocre at best food. When we walked in, the smell of commercial urinal pads hit us. That should have been our que to leave. We walked up the stairs and were sat in a lovely dining room overlooking the valley. The staff was attentive and kind. The Tuna Tartare was balanced and good. The Octopus was bland and unimaginative. For entrees, the Squid Ink Pasta was one dimensional and bland. How can squid ink not have flavor? The Calamari shaped pasta was super bland (who puts potatoes with pasta?) and the Sea Bass was ok- but artichoke side described as "crunchy" was anything but. I'm laying in bed at 2am still smelling urinal pads in my nostrils. What a bummer and waste of 175 euros. I really do not take pleasure in writing bad reviews.

Beautiful location overlooking the temples in Agrigento. Definitely get a spot on the patio to see the view. A sophisticated menu focused on fish and shellfish, with a detailed wine list with many Sicilian wines. We really enjoyed our primo and secondo, all fish dishes, the wine was a beautiful Sicilian white. We finished with wonderful dolce and espresso. Definitely worth a visit but make reservations as the place was packed.

Good restaurant near Valle del Templi. We had some good pasta with ricci and meat accompanied with a wine. Short menu with quality good and professional staff

Very easy to make a reservation online. The place has a very comprehensive international wine list. You have to choose a matching tasting menu, probably if you order "a la carte" things are different. We chose the Artemide menu, matching wines glass are supplementary 70-80 euro per pax. Everything was excellent, as you would expect, The chef greets his guests as a plus. Clean, well maintained, tasteful place. I recommend for a nice lunch and/or dinner with close friends and loved one(s), but I am sure they can accomodate larger groups.

We came because of Don Camillo’s reputation and we will come back because it’s all true!! This is one of a very few places that makes a fantastic dirty martini! For dinner we had beef cheek, beef ravioli, beef sirloin, black shrimp, and delicious chocolate and pistachio cream desserts. Every dish was flavoured perfectly! Suggest a visit and bring your appetite with you 😋

What a place, what incredible wine, what a service. We brought our 6 month old baby, which is bold for a restaurant of this quality, but the staff was more than happy to welcome us. We had an amazing experience. The food is to die for - money well spent

We had a really nice dinner at Don Camillo. The service was excellent (nothing less to expect from a Michelin restaurant) and the food was pretty good. We ordered from the menu because we weren't very hungry and all the suggested options by the waiter were quite on point. It's definitely a good restaurant to have a nice dinner!

One of the best meals we had in Sicily! The restaurant offered incredible options and multiple tasting menus, but also an à la carte selection for a more personalized experience. The service was exceptional, and it was such a nice touch to see the chef visiting tables to ensure every guest was enjoying their meal. The food was a perfect mix of authentic Sicilian flavors! Dishes were fresh, creative, elevated and absolutely delicious! Well had an incredible time here, would definitely return.

Underwhelming experience for us. Nothing really stood out, it was ok food presented really well. The service was great but we were quite disappointed by this experience.

Chef's panini had a lot of flavour: sweet, sour, spicy, smoky. Good ham, mozzarella and vegetables were balanced with bread. Would be amazing if bread wasn't a bit dry/stale and 5/5. Caponata without tomato sauce and various vegetables was good and interesting.

Tables and chairs crammed in the middle of the market. Many seatings available. Hot and noisy. The order was done at the table and the food was served to the table. Had sandwich no.6 (chef's choice). I had high expectations based on earlier reviews saying that it was the best sandwich in the world. But the version I got was not that amazing. It was good, but overfilled with too many ingredients. All had mild flavour and similar texture. Big and filling sandwich for the price. A half sandwich would have been enough for me.

What a wonderful experience!! This place is an absolute must-visit when you're in the area. Be sure to try the #6 panini — it’s an explosion of flavor! We came back several times during our stay because we just couldn’t get enough. The staff are warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is lively, and yes — it’s busy, but totally worth it!

The sandwiches are massive and delicious! Watching them be prepared is an experience of its own, and while you should expect to find a line, it’s definitely worth the wait… Watch the brief video at the end! They do have outdoor seating too, though, and - even though it’s smacked in the middle of the Ortigia Market and the area may look chaotic, make no mistake… they’ll seat you, take your order (or the other way around, like we did!), and bring it to you in perfectly organized fashion! Also, super nice people! A must-come if in the Siracusa/Ortigia area!

This is the best place I have ever been to for a sandwich. The ingredients were so fresh. The staff were amazing. I initially ordered the wrong sandwich and they saw that something was wrong and made me a completely new sandwich. Lovely people.

The best sandwiches! We ordered a chef’s choice (#6) and a #8 and took them on the road. They were incredible. I wish we had gone there another time!

Food was fine, nothing special. Location is beautiful right on water. Go for the view and a drink but not if you are expecting the best seafood.

Had a great meal here despite them forgetting to deliver my main meal. Lucky there was plenty left over from the rest of the families dishes as serving sizes were generous. Anyway, my main was promptly taken off the bill with many apologies from the lovely staff. Super view and atmosphere in this place and we will go back.

The service didn’t feel very warm — perhaps due to cultural differences. Compared with the table next to us, our dining experience felt quite rushed. The waiter repeatedly asked if we wanted water, and after the food was served, no one cleared our plates even long after we had finished. That said, the view was excellent. If you’re here for the Cefalù sunset, this spot is definitely one of the best choices. As for the food, it wasn’t really to our taste: portions were small and the pasta sauce was overly salty.

Incredible location, Incredible food. "The best pizza I've ever had," says il mio amore. Can't argue with that! ...I had Oysters followed by fried squid and shrimp. Equally transcendental. Marvelous fare. Get yourself a table NOW.

Have to say the staff were fantastic and attentive and watching the sunset from their outdoor seating was lovely! Their wines were also great along with the oysters. Food was as good as you’d expect when they’re serving that many tables.

Truly a let down in what should have been a beautiful evening. The food didn’t taste fresh, and the pizzas were also quite sad to look at and eat. I had such high hopes for this restaurant and was let down. We tried the oysters and prawn cocktail The oysters looked like the worst oysters they had to offer, and the prawn cocktail was pre made bag of lettuce, tiny prawns and a massive glob of sauce on top. For the pizzas, it looked like no effort was put in and thrown on the plate. I wanted to rave out this place but just cannot, so for that reason I do NOT recommend

I had a Minestrone, also known as vegetable soup. It's been almost a week since I'm Sicily and I finally found one. Was delicious! We sat on the back terrace with view to the see.

While the food was great, the whole dinner was ruined by the utter incompetence of some of the staff. They neglected us as the restaurant became busier, we were charged more for our dinner (the price online is way different than what you pay there, and their excuse is that they haven’t updated the prices yet - is that even right?) and in general we felt not welcomed. It’s a shame, as I think the chef’s incredible masterpieces are ruined by the way we felt during dinner. I would recommend to go elsewhere, so many better restaurants to eat. My advice to the restaurant is to hire more professional waiters.

I was a “walking-in” during the late night to Regina Lucia restaurant. Strolling through the beautiful square and its cathedral, which by night its at its best, got an incredible table to a mind blowing view for a really memorable dinner. Service was the most welcoming, very helpful to choose greats wines to enjoy the view and suggest few specials dishes to try as we were not hungry enough for a full dinner. Clearly all the dishes were top quality on flavor, presentation, ingredients, but mostly on the plate full setting it offers for a great balance. My favorite was the raviolis, that despite its shelfish filling its prime flavor came from its sauce. I got to say that it’s balanced and elegant. I would say each plate holds a core flavor without it u adding to many kicks as other would do. A litter meal that i really enjoyed.

We stayed 10 nights in Ortigia and this was our best meal. The location is amazing, right in the Piazza Duomo and we sat outside. Yes it’s on the pricey side but it was worth it. All our food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. As was the wine. A wonderful experience.

We had a private room with great service and catering for 30 people all of whom had attended a wine tour this week. All dietary requirements were seen to and understood with great high-quality substitutes provided. As free, I always feel I get a poor substitute so I was very very happy with the effort they had provided. The food was exquisite! Highly recommend

Amazingly located and some good food, but room for improvement. If you can sit outside (what I can fully recommend), you’ll have a nice view over the piazza and the duomo - nice and a great location. But that’s also why the restaurant is often frequented by tourists and accordingly quite pricey. Unfortunately, not all dishes are worth their price. The Millefoglie di Pesce Spada alla Norma (swordfish) was really good, the pasta was good too. The secondi sea bass patty (Branzino con patate schiacciate alla matalotta in crosta di pistacchio) and the tuna (Tonno leggermente scottato con Caponata mandorle e pistacchio) were rather average and already a bit cold when served. The chefs could have made more out of the high quality ingredients. Also the espresso was a bit disappointing, quite thin - very untypical for an Italian-style coffee. Service was also rather okay-ish. Once we had ordered, we were ignored and had to put a lot of effort into getting the attention of the staff. All in all: food is okay, but the atmosphere doesn’t justify the high prices.

Exceptional. We had a dinner for 2 on the terrace. The location and view are stunning. The starters were really tasty (especially the sword fish) and same was for the mains. It ended up being a bit pricey (€200 for 2), but service and food were top notch. Highly recommend.

We had the 11-course menu and loved the atmosphere, music, and friendly staff. The menu was interesting, but I expected more. For a potential Michelin star restaurant, the flavors didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Would absolutely recommend Ristorante Gagini to anyone in Palermo. We chose the tasting menu, and we were not disappointed. The casoncello was my favorite. And the bread was a bonus, delicious surprise. Service was amazing too!

My wife and I enjoyed a very special evening at Ristorante Gagini. The location is very pedestrian-friendly. The building is from the 16th century, wiith ancient stone walls that take you back in time. The modern furniture and artwork is lovely. Giuseppe (manager), the sommelier and our server made our evening wonderful from arrival to departure. The service and the food were excellent. We requested a wine pairing for our a la carte meals and it was an excellent experience. We recommend and would return again without question!

Amazing restaurant in Palermo, hard to find gem in the city. The tasting menu at €110, was a bargain, serious creation in the dishes. The harmony of taste was unreal, the tasting menu was six courses, and definitely it was worth the money and a portions and flavors were wonderful. We had the one star Michelin dinner in Taormina’s Principe Cerami the night before, this place is so much better. Highly recommended.

Very rarely do you come across restaurants where every little detail is curated to perfection. From the moment you walk up to the restaurant from the street the colorful umbrellas and lights that decorate the restauraunts external terrace greet you along with an eclectic soundtrack gently playing through the speakers. On the inside the restaurant is a melting pot of vintage decoration pieces, paintings and furniture that all tell a story. To say it has character is an understatement. The restaurants owner Maurizio greets you with a smile and some friendly words as you walk in, take a seat, and keep admiring all of the restaurants decoration. Its as if the entire place is speaking to you and telling you to feel at home. Ive traveled the world extensively and have eaten in many of the world's greatest restaurants on most continents but when I discover gems like this place it makes me happier than dining at any world renowned establishment. In Japan, the most highly renowned style of cuisine, is Kyoto based Kaiseiki cuisine. Its a style of dining where every single element in the room and on your plate is meant to inspire a sense of zen. The ceramic for each dish is carefully chosen, the type of flowers and decoration in the room, the way every dish is presented at your table and every course is prepared to make you feel as zen as possible. Sicilian dining is not in any way Kaiseiki, but dining at Maurizios establishment felt like a joyful colorful Sicilian version of this all encompassing style of dining, all senses are stimulated in a blissful way. I highly recommend choosing the 4 course tasting menu, besides being able to taste a larger variety of dishes in one sitting, it will also include, as a bonus, Maurizio presenting each dish at your table with a few fun surprises. Restaurant owners who actively work the floor in their restaurants tend to have to repeat all their stories and conversations endlessly with every evenings customer which I imagine can get exhausting but Maurizio tells you about each dish, every item in the room and art piece decorating the walls with joy and excitement as if its the first time he's telling the story. Make sure to ask him about the big painting hanging on the restaurants wall. You cant miss it, its the center piece of the restaurant, and like its owner, it's story is comical, joyful and unique.

Incredible meal! The best swordfish I’ve ever had finished table side. Kids had seared veal and octopus pasta. Both amazing. Chef recommendation for wine was spot on. And he was nice enough to give us a house discount on the wine for putting confidence on his suggestion. Thanks for the very special meal and hospitality!

Excellent food and service. Every dish was tasty, and seemed to offer a twist, a bit of individually. The polpo was tender, my wife loved her freddo di mare. I also had the zucchini soup. The busiate for my daughter was also perfect for her. The risotto was not that risotto like, or at least not like the ones I've been used, but was still a very satisfying dish. We were full when the stuffed squid came but we still polished that off. Then there was the tiramisu. Recommended.

Maurizio and his staff are fantastic! My group had a cooking class and jam sessions in the evenings in addition to our lunches and dinners. The venue has Sicilian charm. The whole place was lively and fun.

One of our favorites during time in catania, so much so that we came back twice!! service is good, food appetizers are also very good and v reasonably priced, we also kept asking for vermouth reccs and they always delivered!! I also loved the vermouth fizz if u prefer something lighter, & honestly can’t go really wrong with whatever food u choose to order! Seems like lots of locals go as well so it can get crowded past 7pm with reservations so recommend getting there 6-7pm

Aperitivo done well and at very fair prices. We ordered mixed olives, aubergines, artichokes, smoked buffalo mozzarella, dry sausage, and goat cheese, plus house white wine at only €2 per glass. Portions are small, but that makes it easy to try several dishes. A casual and lively bar to enjoy before dinner, and very popular with locals.

Very cool spot for drinks, meats, cheeses, tostadas. Everything was delicious. Not mindblowing food, just very good and comforting. It’s also fairly cheap. 10/10 for the vibes. There was a short wait for a table on a Saturday night. The service was brisk and efficient. Negronis were great (and strong!)

We loved Vermut and found ourselves going back again during our time in Catania. It’s a busy place so don’t be put off if you need to wait for a table. The vermouth cocktails are delightful and the 7 year aged chilli was a highlight on the food menu. It’s a super laid back and relaxed venue, the staff seem to be happy working there which always makes it a more enjoyable experience as a customer.

A truly fantastic place, not only for its delicious food and carefully selected vermouth, but above all for its unique atmosphere. Every detail feels authentic and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy Catania at its best. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the city.

Absolute gem ! Came here more than once during our stay. Raw wines and good cocktails. Vibes are great, local, and authentic. It’s always full so if you want to sit at a table I recommend you come early. If not they have a window bar on the side where you can order and stand by a table. Incredible, would 100% recommend.

Service was slow, especially when it’s getting crowded. Great snacks and cocktails. We ordered Negroni and they used different Vermouth in the mix for the second order without asking or telling us. For snacks, we had 7 years chili pepper with Pepato cheese and fresh ricotta with anchovies. Despite the service isn’t excellent at that time, we’ll be back again to enjoy other delicacies.

What a disappointment. Good marketing, but nothing else. Fortunately they're in the city center, otherwise they'd probably soon close their doors. The waiters are absolutely not trained, they don't pay attention, they're nice until you're seated - then you're waiting for ages that they come to pick up your order and they're almost acting as if they're highly annoyed if you do and it wasn't even crowded. 2 stars for the presentation of the burgers, taste is disappointing, dry bread, little flavor, the fries barely fried. The price-quality ratio is absolutely not worth it. We ate better in catania with more welcoming service, cute presentation and less pricey. Can't recommend it at all ...

we got the naked burger and for anyone looking for a healthy dinner thats the way to go. We had two different types and they were both good. The place could be a little cheaper but it is worth the try if you don’t want to eat strictly Italian food whilst you’re in Catania.

I got their Helles beer, which tasted like a decent homebrew, ie, had those slight off flavors you get from too warm fermentation. Also had their potato croquetas, which were good, and their fried cheese, which was mostly breading and lukewarm. Service was ok, on the less attentive side though.

Great burger joint on this fun foodie street. All our burgers were delicious i went for the Bec, the kids measured their's with some app at 20cm tall. Mrs W's spicy chicken wrap was one of her 'favourite meals in Sicily!' A nice break from the pasta and parmigiano, if for just one day. Staff were very nice.

Above average dining experience which provides late night eats! Wife ordered wings and potato wedges and I had a vegetarian burrito. Everything tasted good. Service was solid too… recommend!

We ordered a cheese dish from Sicily, which was the best option and absolutely delicious! The beef burger with egg and ham was also fantastic. The beer here is great too. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

Really amazing food. I went there 3 times during my stay. The gazpacho burratta soup, was like a hug to the soul! Really loved their Lamb Shank too, and lamb is very rare in the restaurants around as they are mostly seafood . Really friendly staffs.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was warm and attentive. The foie gras was enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. But the lamb... it was truly outstanding – tender, flavorful, and unforgettable. A dish that left a lasting impression! We also had a glass of Catarratto wine – fresh, elegant, and the perfect pairing for the meal.

Simply one of the best experiences - cannot recommend this place enough. After two weeks in Sicily eating amazing food, this place was one of the last we visited and it exceeded expectations. The decor and atmosphere is so good we feared we may be walking into a tourist trap, but the small menu put our minds at ease. Every single staff member was a pleasure to interact with. We ordered lasagna, risotto, and the lamb on our waiter’s recommendation. All absolutely delicious, but the lamb in particular was the best lamb we’ve ever had. Shared a hazelnut dessert to finish. I could rave forever about how much we loved this place - they make you feel as if you are dining with old friends.

Wow. What a fantastic dining experience. Greeted by the owner who had a cheeky smile and fun attitude. We sat in the courtyard and ordered the cod starter to share, beef Rossini and steak with green peppercorn sauce and a basil panna cotta to finish. The service was awesome, the food just as good. Im speechless. The food was amazing, the service was great, the atmosphere-perfect. The menu was served in a notebook, which i find fascinating. You should definitely try the lamb shank and the arancinis. I totally recommend going to this place!

Cozy Bistro Tucked away in an Ortigia alley, Le Vin de L’Assassin is a cozy bistro blending French-Italian flair with charm. Outdoor tables under string lights set a relaxed mood, while a handwritten notebook menu adds a personal touch. Dishes are flavourful, beautifully plated, and reasonably priced. Service is warm and professional. Leave room for dessert—it’s worth it. Popular and intimate, reservations are highly recommended for this unforgettable dining spot.

The pane cunzato was nice, but nothing too mind blowing. The granita (almond and ricotta) were okay. The service was disappointing. It seemed like they didnt really care, no smile, nothing. Atmosphere was hectic during lunch time.

Great place for a granita (or pane if you’re ravenous) while enjoying the Mediterranean views. Delicious dessert, a pity I didn’t eat more of it.

You must make a stop here for Granita and pane cunzato; while the rest of the food is good, these two are absolutely amazing. The portions of pane cunzato are generously sized, and even half of one is sufficient if you're not extremely hungry. Prices are reasonable, even affordable compared to other parts of the island. Service is quite fast

We loved this place so much we came back three times! The dinner was excellent—pasta cooked to perfection—and the granitas were probably the best we had in all of Sicily. Warm atmosphere, great food, and unforgettable flavors. Definitely a highlight of our trip!

Excellent Granita Ricotta e Capperi, not sure you can find it somewhere else. Nice service and great atmosphere, not that expensive too considering the location. It deserves a honest 5 stars.

Unfortunately/Fortunately we had the Granita here... which was so amazing, that every other Granita we had from this point has been a mega disappointment. Almond flavour will not disappoint! Side note: staff super slow young bunch who didn't seem to care that people were waiting... they all stood around on their phones.

Very pleasant people, we enjoyed the food which was delicious. We had Aeolian pasta and swordfish. Potion size is quite decent, it's definitely worth the visit , the atmosphere is lovely. You can enjoy a day on the beach and the view towards Lipari while eating.

Although a bit on the expensive side, the food is authentic and the service is top notch. Could get crampy because of the tight orientation of the tables. The calamari and mussels were so good. Although the mixed fish fry was a miss. Great wine collection and u can only get the whole bottle.

Overpriced and tourist trap! The vegetables were not grilled properly and they were raw/cold and there was no olive oil in the salad. Plates and cutlery were low quality. Waiters were extremely arrogant - terrible service and atmosphere. You can find better fish and fish restaurant in Sicily for a better price and atmosphere.

Worth to visit I’ve been looking for seafood restaurant in Catania, then I booked for dinner for two. Everything was perfect, especially caramari e gamba fritters and squid ink pasta were impeccable. In addition, I wanted to do something for my friend’s birthday here. The hall staff Luigi listened to me very carefully and he helped a lot!!!!! We have had a good time. I strongly recommend this restaurant!

Seafood antipasti and pastas were delicious. Calamretti fritti and spaghetti con vongole in particular. While the food was a highlight the service and atmosphere were poor. We were surrounded by a thick cloud of smoke from nearby tables all smoking (the patio has no fan or other ventilation) and were approached by multiple panhandlers during the meal. The waiter nearly knocked us out of the chair to clear the table after we declined dessert.

Perched right next to the fish market, this restaurant obviously serves the freshest seafood. It was too hot to sit outside on the terrace and the interior was nice and cosy. I started with the selection of cooked and raw seafood accompanied by an excellent local Rosé followed by the Spaghetti Vongole. Overall and excellent meal. Service was also exceptional.

Yesterday in Catania, we ate fish. This is not, perhaps, a revelation. One eats fish in Sicily. One expects fish in Sicily. But there is fish—the word, the category, the menu item—and then there is fish: the thing itself, hours from the sea, still carrying the memory of water. Fresh fish. Fresh shrimp. Fresh mollusks. Fresh pasta. I list these not to be tedious but to emphasize the essential economy of the meal. Nothing smoked, nothing preserved, nothing that had traveled far or waited long. Everything recent. Everything immediate. This freshness is not merely a quality but a kind of ethics. To serve something fresh is to honor it, to refuse to disguise it, to let it be what it is rather than what you wish it to be. Yummy and delightful, yes—words that sound almost childish in English but that capture something true. The shrimp tasted like shrimp. The mollusks tasted like the sea. The pasta, made that day (one assumes, one hopes, one believes), provided the necessary textural counterpoint: something to soak up the juices, to extend the pleasure, to make the ephemeral last just a moment longer. All accentuated by an Etna white. We left satisfied in that particular way one leaves Italian meals—not stuffed, not overfed, but content. As if the world, for an hour or two, had been exactly as it should be. Which, in Catania yesterday, it was.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The spaghetti with red shrimp tartare was disappointing and terrible. Idk if it’s inspired by Japanese food, with bonito flakes, but it’s under seasoned and it’s just weird combination. The scampi tagliolini was not as a nightmare as the other one, but the seafood was not fresh. The food was generally overpriced. Definitely a trap :( The staff were super unfriendly, especially the one standing in the counter

Osteria da Rita was hands down the best meal we’ve had all trip. We lined up around 4:50 and were seated within 15 minutes — totally worth the short wait. Our table had the Pasta alla Carrettiera, lemon meatballs, and octopus — every dish was outstanding. The house white wine was delicious, and we finished with tiramisu and cannoli to die for, plus a perfect pour of limoncello. Service was top notch — warm, attentive, and never rushed. Everything felt genuine and full of Sicilian charm. Prices were very reasonable given the incredible quality. We’re already planning to come back tomorrow — nothing else will compare!

Absolutely worth the wait! Osteria da Rita was one of our favorite spots in Taormina. The food was amazing — every dish full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The line was about an hour when we went, but it was absolutely worth it. In fact, we loved it so much we went back two nights in a row. The atmosphere is unbeatable with a live band, accordion, and singers moving around the tables, creating such a fun and authentic Sicilian vibe. Don’t miss it. We went for a dinner 5 days ago - on Monday evening and we were waiting for a table approximately 40min , reservation is not possible. Service was good and fast and food was delicious. We ate Pasta Norma and Pasta al ragu and both were so tasty. Portions are big enough and we were full to order anything else to try but maybe next time. Some of the tables around us got free bruschetta and limoncello , they didn’t serve us but that was not the most important. They brought us bread and also wine we ordered by glass was really good.

We did have to wait for around 15-30 mins for a table however I will say that it was very worth it, the atmosphere and the service we received was truly something else. You can tell the waiters really cared and had fun. We ordered the seafood pasta and it was incredibly delicious, all of the seafood was really fresh and the flavours worked perfectly together.

We waited an hour in line to get a table. There is a 2.5 euro cover charge. The food was pretty much average except the mussels whivh were really good. Inside the tables were pretty close together.

I traveled to many cities over 2 months in Italy and this was one of my fav dinners if not the favorite. Flavors incredible and cooked to perfection. Beautiful street with live music. It’s a long queue for a table but you can get a drink at the bar across while waiting in line and chat with people. It is fun and the wait goes fast. Part of the experience I’d say. This is a can’t miss in Taormina.

We ordered 3 different plates to include the spaghetti, meatballs, and lamb. However, the plate that stole the spotlight was the spaghetti 🍝 😋! I've been to many places in Italy, and hands down this was the best spaghetti I've ever had in my life! This is a must try! We will try to replicate it back home but it will be difficult as their pasta is homemade.

⭐️ Good location and street view. Delicious pizza and very hearty with lots of toppings. The pizza comes in different plates for two people at once. ❌ Very blunt knives. There is no English on the drinks menu and in general the whole menu is rather poorly adapted for tourists. The cocktails turned out to be heavily alcoholic.

Lots of show but little substance. The dishes, though beautifully presented, were mediocre (see photo). The service was the same. The waiters were courteous and well-presented, but they got the order wrong and the food arrived at the tables in spurts. Definitely below expectations.

Very nice restaraunt the food was amazing. We unfortunately didn't order any drinks but the looked amazing. We got the chickpea frites which were amazing. Crunchy and light. The the tomahawk steak to share which was massive and cooked to perfection. The waiter's were lovely except for bald gentlemen who comae across as a little rude and dismissive. This is a tough one, as when we were there eating it was all good. Though at about 4am in the morning following, I was very sick and bed ridden for the next day. Food poisoning from the meat or cheesecake I am sure. Without the food poisoning this would have been a 4/5.

If you are up high in Taormina then you should definitely visit the restaurant. Food was excellent, in the top 5 of all the places we ate in Italy. The views are pretty nice as well.

In June my husband and I were celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We were so blessed to find and experience this restaurant. The view was like no other we have ever experienced. The food was delicious and was presented like a piece of art. Not once did we eat there but twice. The owner made us feel like we were family and for that we are so grateful and will return. Unreal experience. We hiked up to grab dinner here one night and it was totally worth it. We showed up without a reservation at 7 pm and they gave us a table. The views are incredibly and the food is top notch. The owner and his workers were great and service was really good. Highly recommend coming here.

Such a beautiful dining experience for our final night in Taormina. From the views to the staff and the food, everything exceeded our expectations. Lobster pasta in particular was great, with prices being fairly reasonable too. I highly recommend a visit particularly if you want to get slightly out of the main part of town for a night.

I often ask myself wherever I would go back to the place/restaurant again and I would definitely return to this restaurant not just because of the breathtaking views but also exceptional service and mouthwatering food. We enjoyed every bite and every minute in this place and your staff was very friendly and super welcoming.

This small fish fast-food spot is right in the city center, on a street near the main square where during the day there’s a fish market. The smell of fish is noticeable, but you can get used to it. The place had many positive reviews and always seemed busy, so I decided to try a fish’n’chips style cone. The staff was very friendly. The first time I went, I was told they didn’t serve fries, but I could get the fried cone on its own, which was fine. My order arrived within a minute or two, and it came with a plate, napkins, and lemon wedges. The fish was fresh, the batter crisp, and the quality of the seafood was excellent. Even as someone who normally doesn’t enjoy fish and seafood, I liked everything I tried. It was so good, that a few days later I went back. The cone was just as good as the first visit, served the same way. This time there were more small octopus pieces, which slightly dominated the mix compared to shrimp or calamari and other fish, but it was still very tasty. Overall the food is fresh, high quality, and consistently well prepared. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to try some seafood in a casual, fast-food style setting.

We saw a travel blog recommending this place. Had a lunch meal on our first day and it was great. The boneless seafood cone was awesome and the arancini were great. We were so impressed we went back for dinner on our last night. Easy ordering and they call your name out (loudly) with your order when its ready. Great quality food and worth the visit.

The food is pretty much perfect. They have a variety and they have as much as you need for a quick fish meal. A big con however is its location, Catania is kinda known for being dirty and smelly but this location was so bad. It smells really really bad, I was there at summer. Overall though it’s nice, it is kinda self service, you order to the counter and lay and they bring it to you. Nothing special, but the food is delicious!! I tried octopus salad, sword fish/aubergine salad and boneless cone. If ı have chance to come again ı will the choose same three, no hesitation a perfect seafood place! I also got the couscous salad but I am not a big fan of it.

Had boneless cone, lemon mayo, bread and beer. Cold beer & fried food in the heat never goes wrong. The seafood was well cooked - soft inside and crispy outside. Light & thin fry. Well seasoned that I felt that I did not need anything else (not even lemon). I would not recommend the bread though. The lemon mayo also had a lot of mint - which I enjoyed, but it was unpleasant surprise for my husband who does not like mint. Could be better if they clearly stated in the menu that there were mint also. We sat outdoors. Some fishy smell from the fish market nearby, but got used to it quickly that it did not bother much.

Good spot for lunch and snacks. Somewhat of a wait around lunchtime - maybe 15-20 minutes on a Saturday. While you wait in line, a table becomes available. Service is friendly and quick. Had the fennel/orange-salad and the fried cod fingers - both were great and delicious!

This is a lovely restaurant in the Old Town area of Cefalú. There are several outside tables on raised decking and more inside. It has an elegant feel with linen table cloths and napkins and leather bound menus. The menu is small featuring a few of each of Anti Pasta, Mains and Seconds. The bread provided comprised of 3 different types all of which were delicious especially when combined with the lovely olive oil. We thoroughly enjoyed our starters of Babbá with Tomato Mousse and Radicchio Salad and our main dishes of Squid and Fillet di Sgombro (Mackerel Fillet on Crusty Artichokes). The mackerel was especially delicious. All this was accompanied by a lovely white wine and rounded off with delicious Sicilian Cheesecake and Coffee White Roche. We were initially served by an enthusiastic, pleasant waiter, Alessandro who turned out to be the owner! He was very enthusiastic and explained the menu in fine detail. His passion was very evident. 😃 Carlo and Tony also served us and were very pleasant too. We have dined in Palermo, Salina, and Stromboli and found this to be the best dining experience by far. A nice gesture by Alessandro was to treat us to complimentary glasses of Sandeman Port. Thoroughly recommended and evening booking essential. 👌

An amazing experience at Triscele Cefalù! This restaurant is a true gem in the heart of Cefalù. The food was absolutely outstanding – every dish looked like a piece of art and tasted even better. Gourmet Italian food at not expensive prices. They add their touch to every dish and the result was always good. I recommend the babba as starter. The fired calamari were also delicious and quite light. The stuff was ver friendly and fast. I can recommend 100% for a nice meal

This place is a gem in Cefalù, one of the best places we’ve been to in Sicily. Alessandro, the owner, was very friendly and attentive; he explained the menu in detail, and we could feel his passion. Portions are a bit on the smaller side, but every dish has thoughtfully paired flavors. The pumpkin flowers are a must, as is the tuna tataki. Desserts are also worth trying, with their own curated wine list.

Amazing food and service! The staff were so nice and so was the food. Appetisers were the best part actually. The courgettes with ricotta were amazing and so was the aubergine starter. As mains we had the tuna tataki and the pasta with fish jam, they were both good but the appetisers were a MUST. Dessert was ok (the cheesecake believe it or not)

Great hidden gem. This place was recommended to us by a member of staff from the sea palace. We ordered several dishes, and each one was extremely well presented, and tasted good, however we found that nearly all of the dishes were overcomplicated, and items were added that didn't need to be. Just our opinion, and it still definitely worth a visit, and fabulous staff!

Stumbled upon this restaurant on the way back to our Airbnb in Cefalu. Amazing service from Alessandro. Can not recommend enough. Typical traditional local restaurant with a classic touch. Nice dining area with style ,but nothing too extraordinary. The actual food is simple and quite plain. Do not expect any exceptional experience. Service is slow as is to be the kitchen itself.

We had a delicious lunch of traditional Sicilian dishes. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the service was very good. During our time in Sicily we paid much more for meals of lower quality.

The restaurant its beautiful, its all about food once you see their kitchen with the chefs hustle and the products on display. The squid quality was extremely good. Tender, fresh and nice flavor to it. The pistachio fish, on point. The fish steak was juicy, thick, with nice crust and full of flavor (my favorite). Good if you want more of a confortable meal. Now the anchovy pasta for me was not as special as the anchovies could have a bit more flavor/saltyness to it, but well to others on the table it was by far the best of the night. Their prices are very good, with really friendly service. I could say maybe the only thing it lack of its a bit of background music, seems a bit stale and quite to my preference.

This was such a surprise. We stumbled on this place by chance. On my top 3 restaurant list in Cantania. Their concept of traditional and slow food is captivating . Their mission statement is on the menu and is clearly their north star. We loved it so much, we booked dinner for the next day. The staff is so friendly and professional. Made sure one of us got everything gluten free as asked. Went above and beyond. My favorite thing was the wine and cheese combo. Indescribable. Eat at least a meal here. You won’t regret it!

Me Cumpari Turiddu: Where the Locals Eat (and What That Actually Means) There are restaurants for tourists, and then there are restaurants where the tourists have not yet arrived—or have arrived, looked at the menu, and promptly left. Me Cumpari Turiddu in Catania falls decisively into the latter category. This is where the locals go. One knows this not from any sign or advertisement but from the atmosphere itself: that particular vibe of a place that exists for its own community, that has no interest in explaining itself or apologizing for what it is. The wine list confirms this—local reserves, the kind that never make it onto international lists because they’re drunk here, by people who know. We ordered with a mixture of curiosity and trepidation. The menu offered local fare, which is to say: food that comes from this specific place and no other, whether or not the wider world is ready for it. Donkey, for instance. We did not order the donkey. This is not a judgment, merely a confession. Every traveler has their limits, and ours, apparently, do not extend to equines, however traditionally prepared. What we did eat: salads and vegetables that were divine—this word is not hyperbole but accurate description. Things pulled from Sicilian soil have a different quality than things pulled from elsewhere. The tubular meats (I leave the specific taxonomy to others more versed in Italian charcuterie) were excellent. The local cheeses—creamy, tangy, perfect against the local bread—reminded us that cheese is not a monolith but a conversation between milk, time, and place. And then: my fresh grilled tuna. It tasted, if I’m honest, a little off. Not dangerously so—I’m still here to write this—but off. That slight edge that suggests the fish was perhaps not as fresh as advertised, or had been held slightly too long, or had been handled in some way that compromised it. These things happen, even in Sicily, even in restaurants where locals eat. The Nero d’Avola helped. It always does. A good Sicilian red can wash down a multitude of sins, culinary and otherwise. At the end we waited for the waiter to bring the check which never came. We watched the locals who when done stood up and paid at the front. As did we. Would we return? Yes, though perhaps we’d order differently. The pleasure of Me Cumpari Turiddu is not perfection but authenticity—that increasingly rare quality of a place that refuses to be anything other than itself. This is what we travel for, isn’t it? Not the sanitized, the safe, the guaranteed. But the real, the local, the challenging. The meal that reminds us we are somewhere particular, eating what the people here eat, for better and occasionally for worse. The Nero d’Avola, I should mention, was superb.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time during our five-day stay. I highly recommend booking a table in advance, as it’s usually quite busy, especially at dinner.

Best food I had in Palermo and among the best in Sicily. The wait was a little long despite reservations but that’s because the place is so good. They do have a lot of seating if outdoor space is open, and ambience is excellent. Inside was really cool and rustic and outside in an amazing part of town with a lot of old world charm. All the locals said this was the best food in the city, and they were correct! Our waiter Farad was amazing and worked really hard, was awesome with recommendations and very friendly. This restaurant is definite go to!!!

A great spot, even if it’s a bit touristy - excellent location, with a charming stone courtyard in traditional Sicilian style and cool air-conditioned seating inside. The staff speaks English, and the food was excellent, especially the seafood pasta. We were very happy with our visit! I’d recommend coming right at opening time or booking in advance to get a table.

Went for lunch without a booking and La Galleria was busy but we grabbed a seat at the bar and had a glass of wine while we waited for a table for about 20 minutes. Staff were friendly and despite being busy with other patrons were happy to recommend some wines to try and kept us updated about our table availability. The food was very good (we had fish and seafood soup), served promptly. For a busy restaurant on a busy day, the service was exceptional: warm and friendly, and very attentive. Overall a highly recommended option if you’re in Palermo.

Arrived from NYC and this place was recommended by one of tour guides. A reservation is highly recommended. They have an extensive local wine list. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the ravioli , pasta with sausage, and the pork with potatoes. The desert was excellent. It was the best food we had in Palermo.

I had 3 course lunch. Everything was really good, what I expect from 2 star restaurant. Full of flavour, surprising, different textures. Pasta dish and small portions were the best. I'd only cook lamb a bit less.

This was such a lucky find—just a very inconspicuous door, marked only by a Michelin 2025 sign and a menu sign next to it. I'm not usually someone who’s into gourmet dining, and yet I was completely blown away. I may have to seriously reconsider how I approach these things. We went in for the lunch menu and were served an appetizer, breadsticks, a selection of bread with olive oil, a three-course meal, dessert, and… a secondary dessert? I'm not sure what that's officially called. Every single item—despite often not being something I’d normally choose (like an olive appetizer with pistachio and other ingredients, lamb, or seafood pasta)—was so good I was honestly left a little bewildered how delicious it can be. The final surprise came with the coffee at the end (the official last course). I can honestly say this was the first time I truly enjoyed coffee, I drink it a bit out of necessity, but this was really first time I actually enjoyed it, and I’m now worried it’ll be hard to go back to Nespresso or office coffee. My wife had the chef-recommended sparkling wine as an aperitif and concluded she’d never had better. The service was excellent—every member of the staff was helpful, explained each dish and course in detail, and answered our questions with care.

We have the most wonderful dining experience in La Madia. We love the intimate, curated and attention to detail service. The atmosphere is not pretentious despite its high accolades. The chef and the staff are very welcoming. They also paid attention to our special request. The dishes and the use of local ingredients are the highlights of the meal. Selecting La Madia in a small town during our Sicily trip is the best decision. We wish La Madia and the staff the best!

An absolutely splendid meal, with a "but". Everything is astonishing, lots of emotion, incredible products, and a very inventive cuisine overall. One could perhaps argue that it's quite surprising to have such a restaurant in the remote and un-touristic town of Licata, but it's the home of the chef and this should be respected. Pino Cuttaia is an artist of everything related to fish and seafood, and that's more than necessary to offset, by far, any petty doubts related to location. Some dishes made us shed a tear, and that is the memory that will remain. The only real issue we had is the dessert. It's... rather unremarkable. It seems there's a lack of attention to that part of the meal. It could be they haven't managed to work with a prestigious pastry chef, or at least that some of the sweets in the menu are meant to be classic Sicilian standards without putting particular thought into making surprising dishes out of them. With the incredibly high level of everything coming before that, it simply doesn't match the expectations the first two thirds of the menu built. We end up with a strange impression: one of the best meals we've had for most of the evening, ending up on a far less remarkable note, with pastries we could probably have found at reasonable prices elsewhere. It's a bit of a shame: we could have stopped before dessert and still have had one of our best meals in quite a while. It's also a shame because with a little bit more attention to that kind of detail, such an exceptional restaurant, packed with talent, filled with the chef's emotions and personality, could have all the perks to enter the club of the most critically acclaimed establishments in Europe - and easily so.

We came here especially for my birthday but it was a bit disappointing, unfortunately. We were the only people in the restaurant but the chef never came out and the staff didn’t speak English well which made things difficult. The food was good but not fantastic, as you’d expect. Not sure why; but they initially tried to convince me to get a ‘custom’ dish combination (without explaining the cost, since this option was not on the menu). When I refused and chose my a la carte option, they became a bit edgy and awkward, so the situation made me feel uncomfortable. Overall not what you’d expect for two stars.

This in my view is one of the greatest restaurants in the world. Up there with L’Arpege. I greeted the chef, Pino Cuttaia, with the word “maestro!” He replied “non sono Maestro, sono cuoco “ He has humility but inventive creative genius where sublime dishes made from Sicilian ingredients are combined in surprising and delicious ways. The welcoming dish is an ethereal cloud of mozzarella and milk served on a crunch y substrate and bathed in a sauce made with datterini tomatoes. It is light, beautiful, surprising and exquisite. And so the meal continues with the wait between courses agonising as you know what comes next will be blissful. It is truly humbling to be in the presence of genius and I strongly recommend you visit La Madia for one of the greatest experiences our planet can offer.

To fly to Sicily and find such a wonderful restaurant like this is truly a culinary homerun. The service was impeccable, the reception was outstanding and no detail even minor was missed. We both selected the 8 course tasting menus along with a local bottle of a nice Sicilian white wine. The pictures of the dinner will all be attached. We both started with a cuttlefish pizza, from there we enjoyed a fresh mozzarella that was “airy” with a delightful tomato sauce. The next dish was an exquisitely prepared slightly cooked tuna tartare. We then continued with “popo” 2 ways, one with a cauliflower bed, and the other with a 2nd “popo” inside the first. Next I had a wonderful shrimp, spagetthi minestrone soup that was delicious while my wife had what looked like a beef like cannoli wrapped with a zucchini flower as well. The final savory dish for me was a perfectly cooked sea bass with pieces of orange while my wife had barecued meat. To cleanse the pallet we then had a dish of marinated cherries with apricots. Desert comprised of a cannelloni and a profiterole for my wife. The distance we had to travel was far and the time it took to plan it was intense, but it was so worth the trip. If you visit Sicily you don’t miss this special place!

Spectacular, we enjoyed every course and appreciated greatly that the Chef came personally several times to explain the menu and made adaptions so that the food intolerances of our colleague were respected. Very recommended and worth the price!

We couldn’t start better our stay in Acireale. From the first bite, I knew it was the best pizza I have ever had. And this I can say after thousands. The restaurant has a motto “the good things arrive without hurry” so heads up, especially on a Saturday night but who cares, everything is forgotten when THE pizza arrives!

A very good pizza but not exceptional. The place was recommended by a friend and was indeed full with locals. The location is excellent, near the central square and the beautiful cathedral.But it took us good 15 minutes to find a parking slot. A very helpful and polite stuff.A lovely olive oil that changes the pizza from tasty but a bit insipid into a real tasty one.Good white wine.

Fantastic pizza verace (I took the Neapolitan style) at low price in the center of Acireale. The dough is so good and light, that at the end you’d like to eat another one! And the ingredients are just fabulous! The staff is very friendly and the location cosy. Really recommended.

The place was phenomenal. There are about 40 pizzas on the menu so you will most certainly find at least one you like, and the ones i have tried are incredible. Dough is beyond good and toppings are all high quality ingredients.

Been travelling around the world, lived in 4 continents, tried for both work and pleasure several restaurants...ladies and gentlemen this pizzeria is an absolute top in its department. From the quality of the ingredients to the different dough, it's just an amazing culinary experience to be recommended. Impossible not to come back.

Best Pizza i ever ate. Don't be overwhelmed by the choices they give you (5 different margheritas alone...), the staff is very happy to explain. Be sure to make a reservation after 9pm if you're not dining alone.

Very nice dinner in Toarmina. Of note was the parmigiana and the artichoke pasta. The fennel balls also very good. I found the tuna a bit disappointing hence the 4 stars. All in all a very good evening on the terrace of this small and tasty restaurant.

We landed at Tischi Toschi after trying to get a seat at other restaurants without success. They were able to accommodate us right away, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very charming. We enjoyed that it was a bit tucked away from the busy areas. Our server was very attentive! As for food - the fennel balls were incredibly delicious and unique, but the mains were a bit smaller than we were hoping for the price point. The food still tasted great though!

Tischi Toschi is another hidden gem tucked away on one of Taormina’s many enchanting little side streets. It’s a laid-back spot with colorful plates and food that feels wonderfully true to its Sicilian roots. We went for the classics: wild fennel balls and pasta alla Norma and spaghetti with sardines. they were as comforting and delicious as you’d hope. The setting is adorable, with both indoor and outdoor seating decorated in traditional Sicilian style, giving it so much character. And then comes the magic: while you eat, the owner strums his guitar, and if you’re lucky, local musicians might appear in the street to play traditional Italian songs – even the Godfather theme 😝. It’s an experience that’s as joyful and authentic as the food itself.

Great food, nice little restaurant in a quiet area. The waitress was a little rude but I am sure it has been a hard day at work.

Would have liked to have reviewed Tischi Toschi but can’t sadly. We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. We were passing at 6pm and a person was laying up tables. We asked if we could book for 8pm. The man was uninterested and short with us. He said it was only possible to book by WhatsApp and thrust a business card into our hands. All a bit odd and unnecessary as we were at the restaurant and it was empty. In our 5 day trip to Sicily this was the only unwelcoming venue. Maybe the chap was having a bad day? Anyway, needless to say we did not book by WhatsApp or at all ! There’s a lot of choice in Taormina so I suggest giving this place a swerve.

Tischi Toschi is a hidden gem tucked away on one of Taormina’s charming side streets. The menu is delicious, thoughtful, and beautifully true to its Sicilian roots. The atmosphere has so much character. It's cozy, intimate, and full of local charm and the staff were wonderfully welcoming and knowledgeable. A truly authentic dining experience. A tucked away restaurant filled with tasty, local dishes. The Carob pasta, stewed tuna and eggplant parmigiana were the highlights of the evening. Everything was very fresh and didn’t leave you feeling heavy.

I asked a local friend to take me to the place with the best tiramisu in town, and he brought me to Barcollo — and I must say, it was an excellent choice. The tiramisu was truly delicious and beautifully presented. The atmosphere at night is lovely, with great music and an elegant, classy décor that makes the experience even more enjoyable. The only downside is that they don’t serve any hot drinks ( I don’t drink alcohol). I would have loved to enjoy a tea with my dessert, but they only offer cold beverages and cocktails, which might not be ideal for everyone. Still, the quality of the tiramisu and the overall ambiance make it absolutely worth a visit.

We stopped at the ‘new’ (since June 2023) Barcollo for a pre-dinner cocktail and ended up staying. Great choice… and away from the crowds. Cocktails from a wide and sometimes quirky menu range were expertly made. A custom request Elderflower Martini was superb. The chef (David) used to work at a Michelin hatted restaurant and it shows. He has obviously been given some freedom here and created a number of exceptional dishes best described as fusion Sicilian. From the exquisite Tapas to the mains and the perfectly presented desserts we were delivered taste sensations all the way. The service was prompt, friendly and professional. Barcollo is highly recommended. Dont just come for the cocktails!

My waitress was absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The cocktails are great and so are the vibes. Would highly recommend grabbing a cocktail or three here.

If you want a really decent cocktail then I recommend this place, I had the Mai Tai and the Cosmo and LOVED them both. My wife knows I am a popcorn demon and so when they give you some for the table it guaranteed us coming back again. My wife had an espresso martini and then joined me in a cosmo cause she tried mine and it was so fantastic.

Iona was a fantastic server—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. The cocktails are top-notch, with thoughtful garnishes that really elevate them. The vibe is modern yet chill, with stylish décor and multiple seating options to suit any mood. Highly recommend!

Great view looking out over the sea. Brioche with ice cream inside…. Amazing.

We wanted late afternoon crepes and were so happy they had them. I ordered the fruit one and it was the best I've had in my life! My daughter's also loved their Nutella crepes. The menu was large selection and lots of drinks although we just had mineral waters.

I had the best gelato in my entire life here. I recommend getting pistacchio, yogurt, frutti di bosco and lemon flavours. They are so refreshing. The waiter was so nice, when I asked for a big bottle of cold water he brought us it with glasses full of ice. Great service

Whilst staying in Cefalu I visited here numerous times for drinks/ food and drinks. Service was efficient and friendly. The food I had was very good. Great location.

Beautiful location with nice views of the Cefalù beach. But the drinks were lackluster (Mojito) and fairly expensive for Sicily. We didn't have full dishes, only desserts (waffle, pancakes, tiramisu) but they were not great. Overall good for a beer with a nice view.

Nice location by the old harbour beach, good espresso and ice cream, comes with chips, peanuts and crackers on the house. Nice service, and pretty nice variety of food, drinks and desert. Delicious sandwiches. Among the only options open during lunch time (between 14:00 and 18:00), very nice of them. The only downsides are the filthy toilets, but given its location on the beach, I guess it's pretty difficult to keep up with the messy mass of people.

Atmosfere beautiful. Service professional, friendly and courteous. Big portions and finger licking good quality.additional review. Still was supper. For breakfast unfortunately it is totally different. I never thought I would be served a soggy cannoli. Skin was soggy, ricotta was a little dry.

Delicious food. We were looking for a place a bit more authentic than usually found around tourist places. They do not speak much English but it worked out. Loved the wine.

Food was tasty and James’s recommendations were on point. I enjoyed my spicy carbonara. Skewers could be more flavorful but overall everything was great. The staff was attentive, free Wifi is a big plus. Fast service.

A nice fine dining experience with beautifully decorated and presented dishes. Not my particular favorite however if the dining experience is more important than just the food this is a great choice. The veal carpaccio was tough and stringy. Rigatoni with seafood was light on protein but good flavor and nicely aldente.

Met the family for lunch after a motorcycle ride through the mountains. The food and service were amazing. The fish was one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. Kids loved the pasta and Pepe and the staff were delightful. Buonissimo!

The food, staff and service was exceptional. This cute place will definitely become my go to place when visiting the Basilica Catedrale di Maria Assunta in Messina.

Host wasn’t particularly effusive upon entry but bar/sunbed staff were friendly and spoke English. Two swimming spot options with stair access and lovely view of the sea. Enjoyed our half day here. Peak season prices: 9am-2pm or 2-7pm - €20 upstairs/€25 downstairs for two beds All day - €30 upstairs/€35 downstairs for two beds

A bit on the pricier side (we paid 20 euro for half a day on the upper deck - 2 sun loungers with umbrella), but a great spot if you want to enjoy the sea while in Ortigia. Staff speaks English and there is a restaurant/bar for beverages, granita, panini and salads.

We had to make a reservation 1 day prior! Probably the only swimming opportunity in whole Ortigia. It is basically a sea swimming pool - a platform built on a rocky surface. Two swimming spots among rocks of different shapes and sizes, a nice view of the ocean but you cannot swim into the open sea. We paid 20 EUR for two beds without an umbrella for a halfday (2-7 p.m.). The drinks were good (7 EUR per drink).

The only sea establishment in the area. Certainly not cheap but classy. I recommend it if you have only a half day for a quick bath. Otherwise the beaches outside siracusa are a better choice. The sea here is not too deep with some rocks which can be dangerous if you don’t pay attention. I recommend Aqua shoes although some people dived without. Small dogs allowed.

Please just update your Google info that you are closed for the season, you could also avoid frustration by closing the upper door, installing a readable sign in two languages and have friendly staff members explain why this is the case. OR everyone would be happy to enjoy your deck also beyond the busy main season. Your choice.

Not only bad customer service but downright rude! This is a nice place but managed by people who dislike tourists, make fun of their customers thinking they do not undestrand Italian while all along speaking pitiful English. Total rip off anyway, I would totally boycott.

Fantastic location, awful customer service, total rudeness, doubts on food quality. If differently managed, it would be the pearl of Ortigia, this way it is kind of shame.

The atmosphere and setting are truly beautiful. However, the food portions are quite small more of a gourmet style so it feels overpriced for something that wasn’t particularly exceptional. Please remember to book a table in advance through their website, as it can get very crowded. Note that there’s a fee to secure your reservation, but it will be deducted from your final bill.

Today brought a bit of serendipity: I visited the salt plains near Marsala and discovered Sei Mamma Cara, a restaurant with stunning views of the windmills and shimmering salt pools. The setting is truly *bellissimo*—I can only imagine how magical sunset must be here. For lunch, we enjoyed local specialties: fresh tuna and amberjack, both beautifully prepared to highlight their natural flavors. The seafood was perfectly complemented by a crisp Catarratto wine, a Sicilian classic known for its citrus and mineral notes that pair so well with the region’s fish. Contrary to some reviews, the service was attentive and friendly, even in the 34-degree heat. The menu and wine list were extensive, and everything we tried was excellent. I’d return in a heartbeat for a sunset dinner and drinks—this place is a true gem on the Sicilian coast.

The atmosphere and service is as always good, we have been here many times before and always enjoyed it and bring guests with us every time. Although this time the aperitif menu booked in advance is extremely expensive for what it is, one drink and three small bruschetta for €30! Is way too much.

The sunset rooftop experience was amazing. The waiter was extremely useful and had so much useful information about the salt pans. I was expecting the food not to match the view, however, the food was exquisite. The octopus was out of this world and was the best I have ever tried. I would 100% recommend the roof top expire at sun set to anyone.

It was not busy (out of high season) and there was plenty of staff. Many had looked at our table several times, but it took about 20 minutes after we asked to order before somebody came. Also, it's super overpriced, a coca cola costs more here than in the center of Rome. The location is beautiful though.

The Villa Igiea was our closing hotel during our Sicilian adventure, and it was indeed the star at the top of the Christmas tree. With its lovely historic setting overlooking the port of Palermo, the hotel building itself is a gorgeous blend of times past, present, and even future as they work to improve their facilities. The staff were all so warm and welcoming. The service in all the restaurants and bars was perfect, particularly at our dinner at Florio. Amazing. While the location makes it too far to walk to the theaters or the historic center, it is a welcome respite from the busy streets of Palermo. Thank you, Villa Igiea, for a delightful close to our vacation in Sicily.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The location was perfect for us as it was just outside the busiest part of Palermo. The building is beautiful and historic(including spectacular views of the bay and surrounding mountains). From the moment we checked in and until we left, the staff could not have done enough for us. We had arrived after some long traveling and the took extra care to ensure our comfort by quickly getting us in our room, offering refreshments and securing reservations at their primary restaurant, Florio. We found the food to be very good, the bar active and entertaining and the patio overlooking the bay very calming and inviting. Upon leaving, they packed us very njce bags of breakfast items for each of us in our party as we had an early departure. It was a very nice touch. If you’re looking for true 5 star accommodations while in Palermo, Villa Igiea is the best spot. Arrivederci per ora, torneremo!

My mother and I just spent 2.5 week in Sicily and this hotel was our favorite. The location and grounds were outstanding. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. Roberto Supporta (we asked for his full name) was absolutely incredible. He would consistently go above and beyond anything that was asked of him. We looked forward to seeing him at the different restaurants at lunch and at cocktail hour every day. .i hope that the owners of this establishment know what a dedicated gentleman they have working for them. For those who appreciate excellence and elegance…. We spent a long weekend at Villa Igiea with my family during the Palermo Half Marathon — and it was simply exceptional. The atmosphere, service, and charm of the place make it one of the most elegant hotels in Italy. A perfect blend of history, style, and warm Sicilian hospitality.

A fantastic hotel. Rooms and service perfect. Very nice and helpful staff. We liked the terrace of the hotel. Whether breakfast or dinner the view and the food were excellent. Newly learned: The drink “Colonel” (sorbet) is called “Sorbetto al limone con vodka” in Italy.

Spectacular old world waterfront property that was once a private estate that has been meticulously restored. The food is very nice and the service is excellent in most areas.In some not so much. I had a accident on a boat provided by the hotel and my leg got very banged up and bloody. I came back to the hotel and no one offered to call me a Dr. or even followed up with a phone call later to see how I was doing. A shame because that put a damper on my view of the hotel.

Good value and quality of food, most reasonable price found yet. And the taste of the food is exceptional. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars is the lack of respect for inside the tight space to order, pay for and take out food during the final stages of this COVID-19 pandemic, numerous customers did not have masks on and two of the four workers behind the food counter serving people didn’t bother to be courteous nor respectful enough to have their masks on, including the owner/manager at the cash register. There were flies landing on the food inside the glass, and that’s what the customers are being served. Plus, this huge old non-collared was laying and wouldn’t budge to let me sit at the last table, and non off the staff cared to move the dog. Having said that, my shrimp lasagna was superb! One of the juiciest best tasting lasagna plates that I ever ate.

If you want bread or pizza no matter eat here or take away...this one of good place

We have Aperol Spritz with a selection Sicilian snacks. A lovely way to start an evening. The drinks and snacks were all lovely, and it was a great way to people watch and spend an hour.

best gastronomia in Lampedusa also with local sicilian food. worth going in particular in the summer season where the kitchen is fully open. A must choice is arancini! very nice young staff

Definitely not my kind of food, although my friends said they enjoyed their meals. Friendly, positive atmosphere and affable service. There was a bit of confusion with the final bill, which started at €482, went down to €387 (after reconsidering the dishes as part of the daily menu offer, as they were initially ordered) and then to €357 (when using a calculator to add it all up). We had a lot of fun otherwise. The restaurant was recommended by a local and we were lucky to get seats without prior reservation.

Aaaaah Maurizio! 🥰 One of the best restaurant I’ve been in Sicilia! If you want to have the most authentic Sicilian experience and food, it’s the right place! Maurizio is so welcoming, so nice and warm that it made us feel like home and we will certainly come back! I suggest you try the spaghetti ala Eoliana, so special! 🤤

Disgusting service!!! My wife and I were climbing the volcano, and when we got down we wanted to have a drink first and then, depending on how things went, maybe eat - but a very unfriendly old man said that we are not a bar and you have to order something, and if not, finish your beer and get out! This attitude really irritated me, I wanted to quarrel with him, because I don’t understand why I can’t just drink in a restaurant? My wife asked me not to quarrel and I didn’t. We went somewhere else. The restaurant was almost empty, only 4 tables were occupied, including ours, out of about 30 tables. Terrible service.

Excellent service by Mr Maurizio, he really makes you feel at home explaining dishes in great detail. I was amazed to experience proper vegan food for the first time and this is because Mr Maurizio is vegan too! We were given several free appetisers and also a free taste of Malvasia wine with vegan homemade biscotti at the end of the meal. For sure to visit again and highly recommend for my family and friends to visit too! Thank you Mr Maurizio 🙏🏻

We had an unpleasant experience at this restaurant, mainly due to the owner’s behavior. He was openly rude—not just to us, but to other guests as well. When we arrived, no one greeted or guided us, so after waiting a couple of minutes, we sat at an available table. Moments later, the owner came over shouting, telling us we weren’t allowed to sit there because it was reserved—even though the restaurant was empty at the time. He also scolded us for not coming to him first to “say hello” which, frankly, seems backwards—shouldn’t the owner greet the guests? Shortly after, another family experienced the exact same treatment: they were seated by a waitress, then publicly berated by the owner for sitting at a “wrong” table. They ended up leaving. After that he started shouting at the staff as well. The food itself was mediocre, and the prices on the bill didn’t match the menu. Between the chaotic service and the owner’s aggressive attitude, I strongly recommend avoiding this place.

A very special place in Vulcano - typically sicilian, athentico with special service. Mauritio takes a lot if time for all guest to advise food - u feel like family. Food was delicious. Of course high level price like almost everywhere on Vulcano but defnitly worth. I really liked pasta calmare negro. Thanks for the nice stay

Couldn't get in the first night so booked for the following night. Recommended by mainland friends. The food was ok. A little raw for me however it's seemed to be a hit here. Atmosphere and and staff were really friendly.

Excellent food, top quality two nights in a row. Staff work very hard, was fast to sit down, glad the hotel recommended them. Raw tuna dishes delicious.

Completely full Tuesday night in September. Time is a problem here. 5 mins to get water and another 20 to have our orders taken, plus another 30 mins to get the bill (save yourself the time and go inside to pay by card). The antipasti were very good, however, primi basil pasta was -heavily- salted with too much oil. Not many gamberi on the other pasta. Overall, nothing special just okay. Wouldn't visit again.

Beyond disappointed. First red flag was the food coming out 5 mins after ordering. The calamari fritty was worse than the frozen ones you find at the grocery store, and at 20euro a plate, it's basically criminal- dry, bland, I imagine a Car tyre has a similar taste and texture - pure rubber. The tuna steak was also overcooked, barely warm, and again very bland. From price, to quality, the entire experience was horrible. DO NOT EAT HERE!

Excellent food and suitably priced for the island (never forget you’re in Favignana!). My wife had two starter (in photo) while I had the pasta Tonnara. Everything was extremely delicious. Booking is a must or you will be left waiting for at least a couple of hours. Was so good we returned the following evening! Shoutout to the staff who despite being extremely busy was extremely professional.

I wouldn't recommend this place. Food was average and expensive. I ate at other restaurants with similar price or cheaper price and the food was way better. Service was quick.

This was not the best place we experienced in Favignana but it was a convenient location to where we were staying. Whilst the atmosphere and service was okay, the food was not to the standard we would have hoped. We were a little confused given the reviews that seemed to be quite good hence why I have jumped on to leave this review. Okay if you want something meh but for the price you could find something better in town. Hopefully it was just an off night we experienced!

Great location, Sicilian style garden, and amazing food! Tagliata di tonno was the best, but we also enjoyed tonno alla favignanese! We were very gently and kindly served, but the waiters were running a lot! We kind of felt sorry for them...

We arrived at the restaurant and were shown to our table, which was fine. A waiter came to ask about drinks, we ordered what we wanted, and then we waited. The problem started afterwards: it took a very long time before they came back to take our food order. We had to wait about 20/25 minutes, even after calling the staff several times. The drinks only arrived after all that time. In addition, we noticed that many of the dishes shown on Google no longer exist, as the restaurant has changed management. This creates different expectations for customers who choose the place based on that information. In summary: very slow and disorganized service. The experience fell far short of expectations.

The Osteria Cavallo is not on the city center which makes it a pleasant place to visit since it's not too crowded. The food was quite tasty (especially the sea carbonara). Only the octopus could have been a bit softer. The staff is very friendly and polite and also the location deserves a mention.

Beautiful location, fresh ingredients, creative touch. Nice music selection. The creative wine list lacks some more heavyweights, but it’s a delight when it comes to local, under the radar producers. Davide (owner) is a true connoisseur and will be able to advise on great pairings. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is quite elegant and well decorated. Service has been insanely slow, we are talking about 40 minutes for the first dish to arrive. Food was well presented and tasty, unfortunately sizes were quite too small and decorative sauces/salads were old (most likely prepared in the morning), as you can tell from the pictures showing the green sauce dried on the plate. I would suggest looking elsewhere, especially if you are looking to fill your stomach without spending above hundred euro.

Hello, We came here because this restaurant was recommended in the Michelin guide. We had high expectations but were disappointed. The tuna tartar was flavorless. The seared tuna was overcooked and only tasted of fried bread crumbs. The stuffed squid was bland and under seasoned, the squid and stuffing did not really complement each other. The recommended white wine was pretty good and service was also okay. Portions were also small and we were still hungry after, but we weren’t in the mood for ordering more.

Here, they're clinging to a Michelin mention that's incomprehensible. Overrated. The salad is completely old and dry (like arranged couple of hours before service). No oil and vinegar on table. To serve the sauce they use plastic cups (wake up, Italy!). The pasta we couldn‘t finish (even Berlin does better!). But service and location were top. Nevertheless wouldn‘t recommend this experience.

Based on other reviews, we probably had bad luck with this restaurant. It was hot as hell inside and we had to ask for the AC to be turned on. Service at the beginning was good, but as the evening went on it became slower and slower to the point where we asked for the check 3 times and finally had to stand up and go to upfront to pay. Some dishes that were supposed to be hot arrived cold (e.g. pesce spada) and some drinks never arrived. Some dishes were DELICIOUS and others just inedible.

Appetizers where fine, raw fish could’ve been much colder. Pasta was also average except my paccheri with ‘ragù di polpo’, the octopus was not integrated well into the dish and it was not much of a ragu, was simply just cut up octopus thrown into the plate, very tasteless pasta. Dessert however was pretty good, fried chocolate ravioli was amazing. Waiters are extremely nice however appetizers took forever to arrive.

This is truly one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had. It was recommended as a Michelin Guide restaurant, but it did not live up to this at all. The service we received was very rude, the waitress never looked us in the eye and we felt quite disrespected by the staff in general. The "shrimp cheesecake primi" had a terrible flavour profile, and the octopus ragu was flavourless and felt like something I could cook better at home. The mains we had were the tuna and the flying squid, which were just very disappointing, they were nice, but just not worth the price tag. I'm giving two stars because the wine we had was delicious, but overall there are much better places to dine in Lipari. Definitely avoid!

Very central location, in a little alley (hence the name). Most of the menu is based on fresh fish and seafood. Both my husband and I had for antipasto the misto di pesce crudo, I had then the busiate con vongole e pesto di pistacchi (a typical type of pasta) and he had the tonno in crosta. The food was very nice, fresh and tasty, portions could be a bit more generous. We added some white wine and some marsala. The bill was for the full table (9 people) but we spent around 60€ per person, overall correct.

If it would be possible I would give them zero stars! We’ve been only in the restaurant and had gigh expectations especially because we saw that it is supposed to be a michelin star restaurant. From michelin far away!!! One of the worst services we have ever experienced! The food terrible! Fish and seafood was probably frozen therefore not fresh at all! Good restaurant with a large menu, wide wine selection, and amazing views. I had high expectations for food given this place had been recommended by multiple people. But the bread was so-so, the dishes very decent but lacked in creativity and taste. We had some bad luck on one natural wine, but the rest were good. Went there to eat something small. The food was very good and the waiter spoke English. The food presentation was nice and there are some vegetarian options available. There is a rather extensive list of daily catch available. Beware though of the coperto, they charged 5 euros per person, which is two to three times more than any other place that we visited on the island. If you go there for a rather big dinner it may be fine, but paying that much just to get some starters is overcharging.

Poor experience. Owner / manager (same that takes phone reservations) is extremely rude and condescending. There was an issue with our table and made no effort to fix it - just said "take it or leave it". And reserving is a mission as they never pick up the phone. Food is nothing special and doesn't warrant the reputation - the starters were good (shrimp tartare especially), everything else unmemorable. I'm giving two stars just for the efforts of the young crew to make us comfortable - a pleasant change after the weird experience with the manager. If you want to be treated well for special occasions, go to Al Tramonto or Giardini del Rodo instead.

We had a wonderful dinner at Damuso! The food was excellent – well-prepared dishes, top-quality ingredients, and incredibly kind and efficient service. We especially loved the homemade bread with anise seeds – fragrant and delicious – and the desserts: the cassata and the bacio pantesco were outstanding, with incredibly fresh and creamy ricotta. This review is long overdue unfortunately :). We went to the Dammuso restaurant in october 2023 during our first visit to pantelleria. We had the greatest dishes from the pantelleria tradition always with un unconventional and classy touch that made their savor unique! We had the pleasure to taste all the fish dishes and especially the fish couscous which was a great discovery. After the first dinner, we decided to experiment few other restaurants but dammuso was the best in our opinion. We than decided to come back several times during our stay in pantelleria for a total of 4 of the 7 dinners. Best choice ever! We also appraciated the kindness and attention of the personal with which we had pleaseant and friendly conversations about the life in pantelleria and on the secrets they use to make their dishes so special. Defenitly a must for all the lovers of the best italian cuisine!

The waiter was standing behind our back the whole time, the cous cous was very good, the pasta on the other hand very average. Lady waiterses were very kind but the waiter was very arrogant. The atmosphere was below average.

A small food shop and restaurant where you can get great local dishes. My girlfriend had the lasagna, which came recommended. It did not disappoint. I had had two arancina, one with ragu (meat, the same stuffing used in the lasagna) and one with tuna. Both were delicious. As a desert we had a cake 🍰 made with pistachio, panacotta and chocolate. Also delicious 😋.

The tables are well separated one from the other. Probably the best place on the Island to be around at dusk. Enjoy Italian tapas; regulars and daily ones. Recommended to book well in advance because although there are plenty of tables, the place is packed at around 20:00. The atmosphere is really relaxed, the surroundings reminded me of a movie set, the ambient music is well chosen. Anyone who plays Lana Del Rey is ok in my book. The food is fine, just what you"d expect from a lounge bar. We also had a grilled swordfish for lunch which was very well cooked. There's a wine tasting spot where a host suggests wines for you to taste and decide which wine fits your mood. The staff is very kind and thoughtful. Although it is a big terrace, the waiters don't seem to have their own sector which tend to result in some chaotic situations where it takes a bit too long before you can order your next round, or tapas are forgotten to be served. Apart from that I'd highly recommend you to visit this beautiful restaurant. It makes your visit to the island really worth while.

The long walk is definitely worth it. The restaurant is basically at the base of the steep slope facing the big crater so right after the sunset, the show begins with beautiful bursts of dancing fires! Imagine being able to sit and relax with a glass of wine and admire the force of nature. The restaurant is very nice. Food is really good although a bit pricey. I have found some of the stuff a bit in rush and we haven't been able to ask everything we wanted cause the guy ran away. Overall a very nice experience!

It’s pretty hard to arrive in there but once you’re there, you get rewarded with a beautiful view of the vulcano and the ambient in general is just amazing. The younger servers are super friendly. But the cherry on the cake is the dinner under the regular lava explosions of Stromboli, which was not shy the evening we were there. Our 5 year old was mesmerised as were we. Definitely a place to visit when in Stromboli. Booking mandatory. No photos of the actual eruptions, because we were too amazed to pick up our phones. Didn't look at the menu. Had seafood risotto which was marvelous. Mussels, clams, mini-shrimp and a terrific broth with perfectly cooked rice. The meal was prompt and good service. There was a tour group seated but it didn't slow down our service. They appeared to be setting up for another large group.

The best meal of our stay!! We were very welcomed by a very friendly waitress who showed us the table and helped us with the menu! We had a Caprese salad as a starter which was delicious. They served us a whole large mozzarella why was so tasty and creamy, it was by far the best we have ever had! My son ordered the swordfish which you could taste the freshness of it, I ordered the risotto alla pescatora which was delicious and my partner ordered the spaghetti alla Vulcanara. Also desserts were fantastic, cannoli was super tasty! We will definitely be coming back!
