Chef's panini had a lot of flavour: sweet, sour, spicy, smoky. Good ham, mozzarella and vegetables were balanced with bread. Would be amazing if bread wasn't a bit dry/stale and 5/5. Caponata without tomato sauce and various vegetables was good and interesting.

Tables and chairs crammed in the middle of the market. Many seatings available. Hot and noisy. The order was done at the table and the food was served to the table. Had sandwich no.6 (chef's choice). I had high expectations based on earlier reviews saying that it was the best sandwich in the world. But the version I got was not that amazing. It was good, but overfilled with too many ingredients. All had mild flavour and similar texture. Big and filling sandwich for the price. A half sandwich would have been enough for me.

What a wonderful experience!! This place is an absolute must-visit when you're in the area. Be sure to try the #6 panini — it’s an explosion of flavor! We came back several times during our stay because we just couldn’t get enough. The staff are warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is lively, and yes — it’s busy, but totally worth it!

The sandwiches are massive and delicious! Watching them be prepared is an experience of its own, and while you should expect to find a line, it’s definitely worth the wait… Watch the brief video at the end! They do have outdoor seating too, though, and - even though it’s smacked in the middle of the Ortigia Market and the area may look chaotic, make no mistake… they’ll seat you, take your order (or the other way around, like we did!), and bring it to you in perfectly organized fashion! Also, super nice people! A must-come if in the Siracusa/Ortigia area!

This is the best place I have ever been to for a sandwich. The ingredients were so fresh. The staff were amazing. I initially ordered the wrong sandwich and they saw that something was wrong and made me a completely new sandwich. Lovely people.

Delicious sandwiches and great wine! We loved the vibrant market atmosphere – so full of life and local charm. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Such a fun and memorable stop!

The best sandwiches! We ordered a chef’s choice (#6) and a #8 and took them on the road. They were incredible. I wish we had gone there another time!

Food was fine, nothing special. Location is beautiful right on water. Go for the view and a drink but not if you are expecting the best seafood.

Had a great meal here despite them forgetting to deliver my main meal. Lucky there was plenty left over from the rest of the families dishes as serving sizes were generous. Anyway, my main was promptly taken off the bill with many apologies from the lovely staff. Super view and atmosphere in this place and we will go back.

The service didn’t feel very warm — perhaps due to cultural differences. Compared with the table next to us, our dining experience felt quite rushed. The waiter repeatedly asked if we wanted water, and after the food was served, no one cleared our plates even long after we had finished. That said, the view was excellent. If you’re here for the Cefalù sunset, this spot is definitely one of the best choices. As for the food, it wasn’t really to our taste: portions were small and the pasta sauce was overly salty.

Incredible location, Incredible food. "The best pizza I've ever had," says il mio amore. Can't argue with that! ...I had Oysters followed by fried squid and shrimp. Equally transcendental. Marvelous fare. Get yourself a table NOW.

Have to say the staff were fantastic and attentive and watching the sunset from their outdoor seating was lovely! Their wines were also great along with the oysters. Food was as good as you’d expect when they’re serving that many tables.

Truly a let down in what should have been a beautiful evening. The food didn’t taste fresh, and the pizzas were also quite sad to look at and eat. I had such high hopes for this restaurant and was let down. We tried the oysters and prawn cocktail The oysters looked like the worst oysters they had to offer, and the prawn cocktail was pre made bag of lettuce, tiny prawns and a massive glob of sauce on top. For the pizzas, it looked like no effort was put in and thrown on the plate. I wanted to rave out this place but just cannot, so for that reason I do NOT recommend

I had a Minestrone, also known as vegetable soup. It's been almost a week since I'm Sicily and I finally found one. Was delicious! We sat on the back terrace with view to the see.

Good menu, nice choice of vegetarian meals, I struggled to find anywhere in Sicily that caters to vegans so I compromise. Massimo, who I believe is the owner is very welcoming and friendly. I had an antipasto dish the 1st time I went and pasta second time round, and they do beers by the bottle small and large. Very reasonably priced, average cost of the pasta dishes were around €8 -€12. I definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in Palermo.

Food was very tasty and fairly priced but very small portions. Also, many options listed on the menu were not available. Service was exceptionally SLOW (1h 30min to get from from ordering. Would NOT recommend if you are hungry!!!

Terrible! More than 35 minutes of waiting to eat some raw casadieri with a supposed carbonara that was nothing more than a scrambled egg with pancetta and a lot of salt and pepper. To finish, they kept us waiting another 10 minutes to pay, because we couldn't go to the counter ourselves, the person who served the whole place alone had to come (thank goodness there were only six of us). The joke, the worst 28 euros of the whole trip to Catania. Don't go if you are in a hurry, hungry and even less if you are in the mood for tasty pasta and good service. Not to return!

I came with a friend. My pasta norma was passable but my friends carbonara was frankly an embarrassment for italian food. It was basically scrambled egg on pasta shells

Hidden Champ Restaurant - Don't let the quiet atmosphere fool you! This charming Sicilian family-run restaurant is a true gem. While they may not always have everything on the menu available, what they do serve is exceptional. Their vegan pasta options are fantastic - the pasta pomodoro and norma are absolutely incredible. The prices are remarkably reasonable for such high-quality pasta, especially considering it's located right around the corner from much pricier hipster establishments. The family who runs it is genuinely lovely, and despite the relaxed, uncrowded setting, the food quality is outstanding. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for authentic, delicious pasta without the fancy restaurant markup!

Food is random, just ok. Salty, not tasty, too boiled. House wine was terrible quality. Service is not very friendly. Prices are a bit higher than nearby restaurants that offer quite better food and wine. The only good thing was that I could get a table on Saturday night without having a reservation and no waiting time. But I would not come back nor recommend.

Go early in the morning for the freshly hand-made cannoli. I usually have to take them outside to eat, because the wait for a empty table can be long in the busy season. If you have the time eat them at a table with a nice expresso. The green filled cannoli's are my favorites, I always miss that great taste when I do find one in a Paris bakery.

I LOVED this cafe. Yes, it was very busy and hard to find a table…. But that’s for good reason. They have great pastries at great prices. I didn’t try their savory, but I’m sure it is also very good. I got their cannoli and a large rum baba filled with pastry cream. Both fantastic! The cannoli had a lighter shell than most I had, which didn’t really make it better or worse in my mind. Just different. The rum baba- oh wow. So delicious! Super moist and flavorful. It’s huge for the price too.

This place was recommended to us. Busy with locals, it’s a great place to grab an arancini or cannoli. Get yourself in line to pay first, then wait for your ticket number to be called.

Loved the granita (chocolate and pistachio) and the brioche buns here, super soft with a lovely hint of citrus. We ended up coming back twice just for the granita and brioche! The arancini catanese was good, though the pistachio one was a bit bland despite being freshly made. The wait for a table can take a bit, but the waiters were kind.

It was recommended to me by my hotel. It was a very good selection of tasty Sicilian food like Arancini, Croissant, sweets, coffee, any many more. I really liked the Cafe al Ginsing, Spinach Arancini, and Pistachio Croissant. Just one drawback is that as this is very popular place, there is sometimes a waiting queue where people sometimes need to stand for say 20mins in peak hours, but it is worth it. Waiters service is good and they speak English. Card payments are accepted.

A delightful experience in this exclusive pastry shop in Catania Sicily. Special credits to our waiter, Cesare, for his efficiency, rapidity, kindness and fair behaviour towards the clients.

The granita al limone was refreshing and natural. The brioche with gelato was good but you can find better options. The cannolo was outstanding. I was expecting a higher experience considering the famous. I’m nosy so sure if it’s worth the hype. The good point there was no waiting time. The service was quick but I had to stand up three times, asking menú, asking a knife and the check; but extra charged “for service”.

We were hesitant to try anything here because of all the negative reviews but wow the desserts here were better than anywhere else in Sicily. Not too sweet, creamy, and made with quality ingredients. I ordered a cappuccino with almond mouse (they sell espresso with almond mouse but they allowed me to put it on a cappuccino). The mango cake was especially delicious as was the Cassata.

Amazing taste of all deserts and granita. Nowhere else we have tried so good granita, now I understand that in video what they were speaking about real granita. 11 out of 10!

Nice place with seating inside and outside. The decoration is refined and original decoration. The inside seating in an air-conditioned room is convenient, especially in a very hot day. We got granita tasting trio and ricotta pistachio gelato. They were tasty. You can taste the authentic products. We also got for takeaway Cassatina and Pistaccio e arancia. They were not good ! The Cassatina was extremely sweet and Pistaccio e arancia was ??? The service is very average… however the lady in charge of pastries and sweet is very nice and professional.

If you go to Sicily and do not take time to visit the charming city from Noto, then you miss something! Caffe Sicilia is a unique place where the pastries are made for 4 generations and have the best raw products to make them tasty as it should be. We tried many things but the Cannoli deserved a special mention. While in Sicily I tried a lot of them and I tried can be better that this one! Atmosphere is great and Staff extremely friendly!

The low rating is just for the price-quality ratio. The granita was alright, but nothing life-changing at all. And it costs 7 EUR!!!! That's just wild. I understand that you are seated at the table and in the center of Noto, but it's just crazy to charge so much for a granita (even crazier considering that it's just average quality). The staff was fast and nice, and the place seems really touristy and organized. Not my style, though.

The place is beautiful. Right in the centre of Noto. The tables outside are beautiful too. However the croissant with chocolate they serve is not the real chocolate (made of chocolate powder and starch and then filled inside the croissant). I was extremely disappointed, mainly when you pay 20 euros for.a granita, 2 coffees and the croissant. We are not coming back and we don’t recommend. There are better places in Noto for a sweet breakfast.

So good that we ate here twice! Fantastic food (pasta alla norma and the boar sausages were fantastic), lovely helpful service and a beautiful view of the church and fountains. Definitely worthwhile, recommended by a local and big a tourist trap.

We went to this restaurant cause it was very close to our apartment and we booked it in advance - it gets very busy at night. I had fried ricotta with honey and the pasta with shrimps, octopus and other fish. I loved both options, especially fried ricotta. Its slightly more expensive than other options on town, but portions are very big - I was full with just pasta.

Beautiful view of the Fontana d’Ercole. I had the best Pasta a la Norma in all of Sicily here. My partner that had the Tagliata with parmezan was not so happy though, cause of the really small portion without a side.

Good restaurant in Noto, we booked in advance to have a table. It took a bit until they took our order, it seemed that rush hour was taking its toll. Had some local pasta (Caserecci alla Mediterranea) they were very oily, the Saute di Cozze was good, while pork was ok-ish (a default option for meat eaters in our group). Good local white wine, 5€ per 0.5l, better than other bottled wines in other places in Sicily. Paid 110€ for 5pax, just one dish each and drinks.

Wonderful, lively Trattoria that still managed to feel unrushed and loved. Well priced food on the mark and the service was friendly throughout. I would go again for sure 🚀🚀🚀🚀

Lovely meal. Was extremely busy but we got a table out the back. The waitress is a little unfriendly but the male ‘owner’ was friendly. Our food was good. I had a nice schnitzel and salad and my partner had swordfish with tomatoes and they were both very nice. Don’t be put off by the gruff welcome you might get when you arrive.

Me and my Sicilian partner both love this place to bits and it’s our go to in Noto. The service is very friendly with a talkative owner, atmosphere is great in a nice piazza. The food is the best we’ve found in noto and at an extremely fair price level for the quality. Seafood is delicious from octopus salad to cozze and gambero rosso and their pastas have great taste and very generous portions. Wine list has some of my favorite Sicilian houses for both red and white (except Planeta). Booking is recommended.

⭐️ Good location and street view. Delicious pizza and very hearty with lots of toppings. The pizza comes in different plates for two people at once. ❌ Very blunt knives. There is no English on the drinks menu and in general the whole menu is rather poorly adapted for tourists. The cocktails turned out to be heavily alcoholic.

Lots of show but little substance. The dishes, though beautifully presented, were mediocre (see photo). The service was the same. The waiters were courteous and well-presented, but they got the order wrong and the food arrived at the tables in spurts. Definitely below expectations.

Very nice restaraunt the food was amazing. We unfortunately didn't order any drinks but the looked amazing. We got the chickpea frites which were amazing. Crunchy and light. The the tomahawk steak to share which was massive and cooked to perfection. The waiter's were lovely except for bald gentlemen who comae across as a little rude and dismissive. But the atomsphere was nice and the decor was lovely.

This was our best food experience in Catania!! 3 days in a row we visited this restaurant & ordered different dishes and all were fantastic! Our favorites : pistacchio pasta, polpo and panna cotta is a must! This restaurant is a 1000/10

This is a tough one, as when we were there eating it was all good. Though at about 4am in the morning following, I was very sick and bed ridden for the next day. Food poisoning from the meat or cheesecake I am sure. Without the food poisoning this would have been a 4/5.

This small fish fast-food spot is right in the city center, on a street near the main square where during the day there’s a fish market. The smell of fish is noticeable, but you can get used to it. The place had many positive reviews and always seemed busy, so I decided to try a fish’n’chips style cone. The staff was very friendly. The first time I went, I was told they didn’t serve fries, but I could get the fried cone on its own, which was fine. My order arrived within a minute or two, and it came with a plate, napkins, and lemon wedges. The fish was fresh, the batter crisp, and the quality of the seafood was excellent. Even as someone who normally doesn’t enjoy fish and seafood, I liked everything I tried. It was so good, that a few days later I went back. The cone was just as good as the first visit, served the same way. This time there were more small octopus pieces, which slightly dominated the mix compared to shrimp or calamari and other fish, but it was still very tasty. Overall the food is fresh, high quality, and consistently well prepared. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to try some seafood in a casual, fast-food style setting.

We saw a travel blog recommending this place. Had a lunch meal on our first day and it was great. The boneless seafood cone was awesome and the arancini were great. We were so impressed we went back for dinner on our last night. Easy ordering and they call your name out (loudly) with your order when its ready. Great quality food and worth the visit.

The food is pretty much perfect. They have a variety and they have as much as you need for a quick fish meal. A big con however is its location, Catania is kinda known for being dirty and smelly but this location was so bad. It smells really really bad, I was there at summer. Overall though it’s nice, it is kinda self service, you order to the counter and lay and they bring it to you. Nothing special, but the food is delicious!! (Sorry for the messy videos, they are from Live Photos and I need my points lol)

I tried octopus salad, sword fish/aubergine salad and boneless cone. If ı have chance to come again ı will the choose same three, no hesitation a perfect seafood place! I also got the couscous salad but I am not a big fan of it.

Had boneless cone, lemon mayo, bread and beer. Cold beer & fried food in the heat never goes wrong. The seafood was well cooked - soft inside and crispy outside. Light & thin fry. Well seasoned that I felt that I did not need anything else (not even lemon). I would not recommend the bread though. The lemon mayo also had a lot of mint - which I enjoyed, but it was unpleasant surprise for my husband who does not like mint. Could be better if they clearly stated in the menu that there were mint also. We sat outdoors. Some fishy smell from the fish market nearby, but got used to it quickly that it did not bother much.

Good spot for lunch and snacks. Somewhat of a wait around lunchtime - maybe 15-20 minutes on a Saturday. While you wait in line, a table becomes available. Service is friendly and quick. Had the fennel/orange-salad and the fried cod fingers - both were great and delicious!

Very tasty and fast at reasonable prices! Wonderful fresh seafood, with beer and lemon juice - just wonderful! They cooked it very quickly, even though there was a long line. I'll definitely be back!

Amazing sandwiches. Prosciutto mozzarella and tomato. spicy ventricina salami baked ricotta grilled peppers mixed salad chili pate spread and two small beers. Bread had sesame seeds. YUM! Place was packed and wildly efficient and service fast. We ended up going inside after lunch and buying more food, bread and goods to go.

Possibly the best sandwich bar in Italy😎🙏 Great service. Amazing quality of food and an amazing shop to spend 15 minutes in. A ginormous sandwich with the freshest and most authentic ingredients made by a guy with a real passion and for €7.

This was our absolute favourite place!! We made this part of our morning routine - we would run in the morning and then end with a coffee and we had two different GO TO meals. Burrata with the zucchini and quince jam! This with the mortadella was insane flavours. We also tried the salad croissants which is where you can choose the same filling as the sandwiches but in the croissants. We also took sandwiches down to the beach one day- we were told that the sandwich bar next door was average and this could be true even though we didn’t try next door! Great staff - a serious institution!!

Enjoyed our roll (fresh, crusty bread) & salad. Very busy place at lunch time on a Friday but great atmosphere.

We had a lovely tasting board, but there was no introduction so no idea what we were eating. Non the less, highly recommend, full of locals, also did some shopping here!

Fantastic food, incredible atmosphere. Steps away from a tourist hub without the tourist trap feel. My wife and I went back two nights in a row just for the authentic trattoria feel and great food. Carlos, Farad, and staff took great care of us! Highly recommend the Norma pasta!

Lovely atmosphere, wonderfully kind staff, and absolutely delicious food! This became our favourite restaurant in Palermo. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time during our five-day stay. I highly recommend booking a table in advance, as it’s usually quite busy, especially at dinner.

Best food I had in Palermo and among the best in Sicily. The wait was a little long despite reservations but that’s because the place is so good. They do have a lot of seating if outdoor space is open, and ambience is excellent. Inside was really cool and rustic and outside in an amazing part of town with a lot of old world charm. All the locals said this was the best food in the city, and they were correct! Our waiter Farad was amazing and worked really hard, was awesome with recommendations and very friendly. This restaurant is definite go to!!!

A great spot, even if it’s a bit touristy - excellent location, with a charming stone courtyard in traditional Sicilian style and cool air-conditioned seating inside. The staff speaks English, and the food was excellent, especially the seafood pasta. We were very happy with our visit! I’d recommend coming right at opening time or booking in advance to get a table.

Went for lunch without a booking and La Galleria was busy but we grabbed a seat at the bar and had a glass of wine while we waited for a table for about 20 minutes. Staff were friendly and despite being busy with other patrons were happy to recommend some wines to try and kept us updated about our table availability. The food was very good (we had fish and seafood soup), served promptly. For a busy restaurant on a busy day, the service was exceptional: warm and friendly, and very attentive. Overall a highly recommended option if you’re in Palermo.

Arrived from NYC and this place was recommended by one of tour guides. A reservation is highly recommended. They have an extensive local wine list. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the ravioli , pasta with sausage, and the pork with potatoes. The desert was excellent. It was the best food we had in Palermo.

lovely restaurant we ate lunch in to celebrate my birthday, we was seated outside which we did pre book, would recommend doing this as as we sat down it started to get more busy and was queing down the street, we both had 2 different types of pasta, they was both yummy! the atmosphere was great, staff was good but could’ve been more attentive, overall a good lunch/dinner spot.

If you are in Ortigia, you cannot miss Pasticceria Artale. Their cannolo is simply unforgettable – the shell is perfectly crisp and delicate, while the ricotta filling is creamy, fresh, and full of authentic Sicilian flavor. It’s the perfect balance of texture and taste, not too sweet, just perfect. The pasticceria itself is welcoming and full of tempting pastries, but the cannolo truly stands out as one of the best I have ever had. The staff are friendly and take great pride in their craft, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

My favourite granita I've had in Sicily so far! The brioche was so fresh and warm. The staff was lovely and suggested I try a mix of almond and pistachio - delicious.

Good breakfast, nothing mind-blowing. The cannoli are massive, maybe even too much (I’ve never seen them so big to be honest). Everything was good and prices were fair, but it just felt like a normal breakfast you could have anywhere in Italy, nothing really special.

If you want to eat traditional breakfast, this is the right place. 2 capuccinos, brioche, granita were all together 8 euros. Best granita in Ortigia!

The pistachio granitas here were the best one I’ve had in Sicily. Almond was also very good. Not too sweet! Warm brioche.

Finally, a friendly place for English speaking customers on our cruise journey thru Italy 🥰. Double macchiato with classic Connolly, so yummy! Highly recommend!

I tried canollo here, and it was delicious! One of the best, or maybe even the best that I've had in my life. I've been to Italy many times and I like canolli, so I tried them a lot. Here the ricotta filling was so fresh!

Very good place for dinner. The lovely server vas very nice and spoke english. Food was amazing. The place was a bit warm and felt like there was little air but other that that, would reccommend! The pasta Norma was amazing, cheese was soooo good!

Trattoria Al Gatto Nero is a solid choice if you’re in the area—delicious homemade food, generous portions, friendly and welcoming service, and a relaxed, unpretentious vibe. The picanha and the cheese platter are definitely worth trying—they were both full of flavor and really well prepared. Would gladly go back!

Nice Family owned Restaurant. Food was good the waiter was also very friendly but the Restaurant atmosphere needs a bit of work which is not so important It gave me the vibes like sitting in a Patisserie or bakery where you would just get a quick bite (maybe change the table placement).

Very nice resturant , good prices food was amazing . Came with my family and had a great experience . I would highly reccomend this place over any of the tourist traps on the main strip . If you can walk or drive to this resturant you should make it your first choice .

The atmosphere and setting are truly beautiful. However, the food portions are quite small more of a gourmet style so it feels overpriced for something that wasn’t particularly exceptional. Please remember to book a table in advance through their website, as it can get very crowded. Note that there’s a fee to secure your reservation, but it will be deducted from your final bill.

Today brought a bit of serendipity: I visited the salt plains near Marsala and discovered Sei Mamma Cara, a restaurant with stunning views of the windmills and shimmering salt pools. The setting is truly *bellissimo*—I can only imagine how magical sunset must be here. For lunch, we enjoyed local specialties: fresh tuna and amberjack, both beautifully prepared to highlight their natural flavors. The seafood was perfectly complemented by a crisp Catarratto wine, a Sicilian classic known for its citrus and mineral notes that pair so well with the region’s fish. Contrary to some reviews, the service was attentive and friendly, even in the 34-degree heat. The menu and wine list were extensive, and everything we tried was excellent. I’d return in a heartbeat for a sunset dinner and drinks—this place is a true gem on the Sicilian coast.

Beautiful place, we did the salt flats visit in English and had the aperitivo on the rooftop.

The atmosphere and service is as always good, we have been here many times before and always enjoyed it and bring guests with us every time. Although this time the aperitif menu booked in advance is extremely expensive for what it is, one drink and three small bruschetta for €30! Is way too much.

The sunset rooftop experience was amazing. The waiter was extremely useful and had so much useful information about the salt pans. I was expecting the food not to match the view, however, the food was exquisite. The octopus was out of this world and was the best I have ever tried. I would 100% recommend the roof top expire at sun set to anyone.

It was not busy (out of high season) and there was plenty of staff. Many had looked at our table several times, but it took about 20 minutes after we asked to order before somebody came. If i noticed it earlier, i would not have given a tip on top. Addition: I have just read that Italian law does not allow to put service fees at a place where they are not likely to be read. WOW, must be one of the best Pizza I had! The fried, baked pizza bread is amazing! Not greasy at all, just a smoother, kind of donut'y taste to it. I had a vegetariana, and my boyfriend ordered a burger, but they were out of burger bread so it was replaced with pizza bread, best decision ever! Main courses were between 12-20€, we had local brewed beer for 8€ & shared a tiramisu for 10€. It's like one of the meals you want to have again before you finish the plate. MUST TRY!

Something that is even more rare to find is the creativity and the ability to create wonderful presentations with the dishes. I've ordered a Walk On Pizza, which is a Fried Calzone filled with fior di latte mozzarella and mortadella. On top the pesto and pistachios gave an amazing taste to this masterpiece. My girlfriend and I loved it so much that we decided to come again the next day as well. We are aiming to try many different pizzas from them. It was simply one of the best we had in our lives. Probably the best gluten-free pizza in my life so far. I had the Speck e Zola (pomodoro, mozzarella, speck, gorgonzola). The pizza was cooked in an aluminum foil pan which was served on the platter. The crust stuck a little to the aluminum pan but it didn't matter. It was a thin crust. The staff and service were excellent. I'm not sure what else is celiac friendly. Frankly I'm not sure I would try anything else. Add a little olive oil with spicy pepper and enjoy.

If you're looking for an easy, cheap meal one evening, this is the place to go. It is more of a take-out, but there are a small number of benches with tables outside the place.
