Caseificio Borderi is a charming family-owned shop nestled in the Ortigia Market, known for its delectable homemade sandwiches and artisanal Sicilian products. The owner, Andrea Borderi, also known as the Panini Maestro, crafts enormous made-to-order sandwiches filled with an array of Sicilian cheeses, charcuterie, olives, tomatoes, and more. The shop's long line is entertained with samples as they eagerly await their turn to witness Mr.
The best meal I’ve had in Sicily! The sandwiches were absolutely delicious – without a doubt, the best meal I’ve had so far during my stay in Sicily. I ordered the chef’s special sandwich – I have no idea what exactly was in it, but I could honestly eat it every single day! The service was great – very friendly and fast. Everything was served quickly and tasted amazing. On top of that, the place has a wonderful atmosphere – you can really feel the authentic Italian vibe all around. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the chance to stop by!
Weronika J — Google review
Chef's panini had a lot of flavour: sweet, sour, spicy, smoky. Good ham, mozzarella and vegetables were balanced with bread. Would be amazing if bread wasn't a bit dry/stale and 5/5. Caponata without tomato sauce and various vegetables was good and interesting.
Michał L — Google review
Tables and chairs crammed in the middle of the market. Many seatings available. Hot and noisy. The order was done at the table and the food was served to the table. Had sandwich no.6 (chef's choice). I had high expectations based on earlier reviews saying that it was the best sandwich in the world. But the version I got was not that amazing. It was good, but overfilled with too many ingredients. All had mild flavour and similar texture. Big and filling sandwich for the price. A half sandwich would have been enough for me.
Anna J — Google review
What a wonderful experience!! This place is an absolute must-visit when you're in the area. Be sure to try the #6 panini — it’s an explosion of flavor! We came back several times during our stay because we just couldn’t get enough. The staff are warm and welcoming, the atmosphere is lively, and yes — it’s busy, but totally worth it!
Camille C — Google review
The sandwiches are massive and delicious! Watching them be prepared is an experience of its own, and while you should expect to find a line, it’s definitely worth the wait… Watch the brief video at the end! They do have outdoor seating too, though, and - even though it’s smacked in the middle of the Ortigia Market and the area may look chaotic, make no mistake… they’ll seat you, take your order (or the other way around, like we did!), and bring it to you in perfectly organized fashion! Also, super nice people! A must-come if in the Siracusa/Ortigia area!
Alessandro — Google review
This is the best place I have ever been to for a sandwich. The ingredients were so fresh. The staff were amazing. I initially ordered the wrong sandwich and they saw that something was wrong and made me a completely new sandwich. Lovely people.
David C — Google review
Delicious sandwiches and great wine! We loved the vibrant market atmosphere – so full of life and local charm. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Such a fun and memorable stop!

Al Porticciolo is a charming seafront restaurant in Cefalu, offering a delightful dining experience with its wood-framed terrace right on the coast. The restaurant is known for serving Sicilian meat and fish plates, as well as creative pizzas including traditional options like capricciosa and margherita, along with unique combinations such as vastedda cheese, Nero dei Nebrodi Siciliano pork, lemon zest, rocket and olive oil.
Everything we ate was delicious. Watching the waves crash against the rocks was very pleasant, though I wish I hadn’t missed the sunset. The staff were friendly and attentive.
Funda E — Google review
Food was fine, nothing special. Location is beautiful right on water. Go for the view and a drink but not if you are expecting the best seafood.
Melissa ( — Google review
Had a great meal here despite them forgetting to deliver my main meal. Lucky there was plenty left over from the rest of the families dishes as serving sizes were generous. Anyway, my main was promptly taken off the bill with many apologies from the lovely staff. Super view and atmosphere in this place and we will go back.
Mark M — Google review
The service didn’t feel very warm — perhaps due to cultural differences. Compared with the table next to us, our dining experience felt quite rushed. The waiter repeatedly asked if we wanted water, and after the food was served, no one cleared our plates even long after we had finished. That said, the view was excellent. If you’re here for the Cefalù sunset, this spot is definitely one of the best choices. As for the food, it wasn’t really to our taste: portions were small and the pasta sauce was overly salty.
YiMin W — Google review
Incredible location, Incredible food. "The best pizza I've ever had," says il mio amore. Can't argue with that! ...I had Oysters followed by fried squid and shrimp. Equally transcendental. Marvelous fare. Get yourself a table NOW.
JD Q — Google review
Have to say the staff were fantastic and attentive and watching the sunset from their outdoor seating was lovely! Their wines were also great along with the oysters. Food was as good as you’d expect when they’re serving that many tables.
Kerri B — Google review
Truly a let down in what should have been a beautiful evening. The food didn’t taste fresh, and the pizzas were also quite sad to look at and eat. I had such high hopes for this restaurant and was let down. We tried the oysters and prawn cocktail The oysters looked like the worst oysters they had to offer, and the prawn cocktail was pre made bag of lettuce, tiny prawns and a massive glob of sauce on top. For the pizzas, it looked like no effort was put in and thrown on the plate. I wanted to rave out this place but just cannot, so for that reason I do NOT recommend
Katie W — Google review
I had a Minestrone, also known as vegetable soup. It's been almost a week since I'm Sicily and I finally found one. Was delicious! We sat on the back terrace with view to the see.

Restaurant
Trattoria di De Fiore, also known as Nuova Trattoria del Forestiero and Mamma Rosanna, is a renowned restaurant in Catania that has been serving authentic Sicilian cuisine since 1962. The owner, Mamma Rosanna, still personally prepares her signature homemade maccheroni every day. One of the highlights is the Casarecce alla Norma, a Sicilian pasta dish prepared by chef Rosanna using her great grandmother's recipe.
We ordered the mixed antipasto plate and pasta allá norma. The pasta had incredible flavour and was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Michelle L — Google review
Good menu, nice choice of vegetarian meals, I struggled to find anywhere in Sicily that caters to vegans so I compromise. Massimo, who I believe is the owner is very welcoming and friendly. I had an antipasto dish the 1st time I went and pasta second time round, and they do beers by the bottle small and large. Very reasonably priced, average cost of the pasta dishes were around €8 -€12. I definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in Palermo.
Carmela P — Google review
Food was very tasty and fairly priced but very small portions. Also, many options listed on the menu were not available. Service was exceptionally SLOW (1h 30min to get from from ordering. Would NOT recommend if you are hungry!!!
Tom R — Google review
Terrible! More than 35 minutes of waiting to eat some raw casadieri with a supposed carbonara that was nothing more than a scrambled egg with pancetta and a lot of salt and pepper. To finish, they kept us waiting another 10 minutes to pay, because we couldn't go to the counter ourselves, the person who served the whole place alone had to come (thank goodness there were only six of us). The joke, the worst 28 euros of the whole trip to Catania. Don't go if you are in a hurry, hungry and even less if you are in the mood for tasty pasta and good service. Not to return!
Marta E — Google review
I came with a friend. My pasta norma was passable but my friends carbonara was frankly an embarrassment for italian food. It was basically scrambled egg on pasta shells
Greg O — Google review
Hidden Champ Restaurant - Don't let the quiet atmosphere fool you! This charming Sicilian family-run restaurant is a true gem. While they may not always have everything on the menu available, what they do serve is exceptional. Their vegan pasta options are fantastic - the pasta pomodoro and norma are absolutely incredible. The prices are remarkably reasonable for such high-quality pasta, especially considering it's located right around the corner from much pricier hipster establishments. The family who runs it is genuinely lovely, and despite the relaxed, uncrowded setting, the food quality is outstanding. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for authentic, delicious pasta without the fancy restaurant markup!
Angelina — Google review
Amazing place with incredible food. The owner Mamma Rosanna cooks with love and is a gracious host. We could not recommend this place enough!
Jeff C — Google review
Food is random, just ok. Salty, not tasty, too boiled. House wine was terrible quality. Service is not very friendly. Prices are a bit higher than nearby restaurants that offer quite better food and wine. The only good thing was that I could get a table on Saturday night without having a reservation and no waiting time. But I would not come back nor recommend.

Pasticceria Savia is a historic patisserie that has been serving delectable sweet treats, pastries, and savory snacks since 1897. Located on the lively Via Etnea street, it offers an intimate dining experience with terrace seating. The highlight of their menu is the colossal arancini - deep-fried rice fritters filled with tender ragu, cheese, or butter.
The granita is fabulous and they do a mignon brioche which is so cute. Pistachio and fragola granita were outstanding and came with proper panna. The pistachio cornettos are not to my taste overly large and well stuffed but with a pistachio custard, they just are not remotely tasty and not worth it particularly if sitting down and paying the excess. All the cakes were delicious. Average cannoli. Very good arancini also. The staff are lovely particularly the men at the bar and a clean bathroom is kept. Recommmeded.
Dee — Google review
Go early in the morning for the freshly hand-made cannoli. I usually have to take them outside to eat, because the wait for a empty table can be long in the busy season. If you have the time eat them at a table with a nice expresso. The green filled cannoli's are my favorites, I always miss that great taste when I do find one in a Paris bakery.
Device 2 — Google review
I LOVED this cafe. Yes, it was very busy and hard to find a table…. But that’s for good reason. They have great pastries at great prices. I didn’t try their savory, but I’m sure it is also very good. I got their cannoli and a large rum baba filled with pastry cream. Both fantastic! The cannoli had a lighter shell than most I had, which didn’t really make it better or worse in my mind. Just different. The rum baba- oh wow. So delicious! Super moist and flavorful. It’s huge for the price too.
Laura — Google review
If you want to experience the real Sicily — where tradition, flavor, and soul come together — Savia in Catania is the place to go. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly fried arancini fills the air — golden, crisp on the outside, and perfectly creamy within. These aren’t just snacks; they’re a piece of Sicilian history, made just as they should be. Every bite reminds you that you’re tasting the original, authentic flavor that locals have loved for generations. And it doesn’t stop there. For something sweet, pair a soft, buttery brioche with the rich, velvety granita — the perfect Sicilian breakfast duo. Add a strong espresso, and you’ll understand why this region’s culinary traditions are so revered. At Savia, every flavor feels like it’s feeding your soul. It’s not just food — it’s heritage, passion, and love served on a plate. Whether you come for the arancino or stay for the dessert, this is a stop no true food lover should miss in Catania.
Danilo M — Google review
This place was recommended to us. Busy with locals, it’s a great place to grab an arancini or cannoli. Get yourself in line to pay first, then wait for your ticket number to be called.
An — Google review
Loved the granita (chocolate and pistachio) and the brioche buns here, super soft with a lovely hint of citrus. We ended up coming back twice just for the granita and brioche! The arancini catanese was good, though the pistachio one was a bit bland despite being freshly made. The wait for a table can take a bit, but the waiters were kind.
Sunny N — Google review
It was recommended to me by my hotel. It was a very good selection of tasty Sicilian food like Arancini, Croissant, sweets, coffee, any many more. I really liked the Cafe al Ginsing, Spinach Arancini, and Pistachio Croissant. Just one drawback is that as this is very popular place, there is sometimes a waiting queue where people sometimes need to stand for say 20mins in peak hours, but it is worth it. Waiters service is good and they speak English. Card payments are accepted.
Tushar R — Google review
A delightful experience in this exclusive pastry shop in Catania Sicily. Special credits to our waiter, Cesare, for his efficiency, rapidity, kindness and fair behaviour towards the clients.

Caffè Sicilia, a renowned establishment in Noto, is a must-visit for those craving authentic Sicilian pastries. Featured on Netflix's Chef's Table Pastry Season, this classic café on Corso Vittorio Emanuele offers an ideal setting to savor traditional treats like cannoli and cassata. With a history dating back to 1892, it stands as a symbol of Sicilian pastry-making excellence under the guidance of Master Confectioner Corrado Assenza.
Delicious granita, good coffee, and amazing brioche. Very short wait for a table inside. The lemon granita was as fresh as you imagine it can get, and the mulberry one was also great. The star was the brioche, which was pillowy, fresh, and just so good!
Malte H — Google review
The granita al limone was refreshing and natural. The brioche with gelato was good but you can find better options. The cannolo was outstanding. I was expecting a higher experience considering the famous. I’m nosy so sure if it’s worth the hype. The good point there was no waiting time. The service was quick but I had to stand up three times, asking menú, asking a knife and the check; but extra charged “for service”.
Brenda T — Google review
We were hesitant to try anything here because of all the negative reviews but wow the desserts here were better than anywhere else in Sicily. Not too sweet, creamy, and made with quality ingredients. I ordered a cappuccino with almond mouse (they sell espresso with almond mouse but they allowed me to put it on a cappuccino). The mango cake was especially delicious as was the Cassata.
D K — Google review
Amazing taste of all deserts and granita. Nowhere else we have tried so good granita, now I understand that in video what they were speaking about real granita. 11 out of 10!
Ivan O — Google review
Nice place with seating inside and outside. The decoration is refined and original decoration. The inside seating in an air-conditioned room is convenient, especially in a very hot day. We got granita tasting trio and ricotta pistachio gelato. They were tasty. You can taste the authentic products. We also got for takeaway Cassatina and Pistaccio e arancia. They were not good ! The Cassatina was extremely sweet and Pistaccio e arancia was ??? The service is very average… however the lady in charge of pastries and sweet is very nice and professional.
Sam B — Google review
If you go to Sicily and do not take time to visit the charming city from Noto, then you miss something! Caffe Sicilia is a unique place where the pastries are made for 4 generations and have the best raw products to make them tasty as it should be. We tried many things but the Cannoli deserved a special mention. While in Sicily I tried a lot of them and I tried can be better that this one! Atmosphere is great and Staff extremely friendly!
Chris L — Google review
The low rating is just for the price-quality ratio. The granita was alright, but nothing life-changing at all. And it costs 7 EUR!!!! That's just wild. I understand that you are seated at the table and in the center of Noto, but it's just crazy to charge so much for a granita (even crazier considering that it's just average quality). The staff was fast and nice, and the place seems really touristy and organized. Not my style, though.
Martín S — Google review
The place is beautiful. Right in the centre of Noto. The tables outside are beautiful too. However the croissant with chocolate they serve is not the real chocolate (made of chocolate powder and starch and then filled inside the croissant). I was extremely disappointed, mainly when you pay 20 euros for.a granita, 2 coffees and the croissant. We are not coming back and we don’t recommend. There are better places in Noto for a sweet breakfast.

A Culinary Gem in Sicily, Noto – Beyond All Expectations This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants we’ve experienced in Sicily. The food is authentically Italian, made with fresh, pure ingredients that burst with flavor. Every dish feels like a celebration of Italian cuisine — so incredibly delicious, it feels priceless... yet the prices are surprisingly affordable! The value for money is outstanding. You get top-quality dishes at a very fair price — it’s rare to eat this well for such a reasonable cost. On top of that, the team is genuinely warm and welcoming, offering attentive and heartfelt service that makes you feel right at home. The setting is also charming and cozy — the perfect place to relax and truly enjoy the moment. We’ll absolutely be coming back, and we wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting Sicily. A must for real food lovers!

So good that we ate here twice! Fantastic food (pasta alla norma and the boar sausages were fantastic), lovely helpful service and a beautiful view of the church and fountains. Definitely worthwhile, recommended by a local and big a tourist trap.
Fintan B — Google review
We went to this restaurant cause it was very close to our apartment and we booked it in advance - it gets very busy at night. I had fried ricotta with honey and the pasta with shrimps, octopus and other fish. I loved both options, especially fried ricotta. Its slightly more expensive than other options on town, but portions are very big - I was full with just pasta.
Alice C — Google review
Beautiful view of the Fontana d’Ercole. I had the best Pasta a la Norma in all of Sicily here. My partner that had the Tagliata with parmezan was not so happy though, cause of the really small portion without a side.
Theodora C — Google review
Good restaurant in Noto, we booked in advance to have a table. It took a bit until they took our order, it seemed that rush hour was taking its toll. Had some local pasta (Caserecci alla Mediterranea) they were very oily, the Saute di Cozze was good, while pork was ok-ish (a default option for meat eaters in our group). Good local white wine, 5€ per 0.5l, better than other bottled wines in other places in Sicily. Paid 110€ for 5pax, just one dish each and drinks.
Sergiu C — Google review
Wonderful, lively Trattoria that still managed to feel unrushed and loved. Well priced food on the mark and the service was friendly throughout. I would go again for sure 🚀🚀🚀🚀
Geoffrey G — Google review
Lovely meal. Was extremely busy but we got a table out the back. The waitress is a little unfriendly but the male ‘owner’ was friendly. Our food was good. I had a nice schnitzel and salad and my partner had swordfish with tomatoes and they were both very nice. Don’t be put off by the gruff welcome you might get when you arrive.
Jenny H — Google review
Me and my Sicilian partner both love this place to bits and it’s our go to in Noto. The service is very friendly with a talkative owner, atmosphere is great in a nice piazza. The food is the best we’ve found in noto and at an extremely fair price level for the quality. Seafood is delicious from octopus salad to cozze and gambero rosso and their pastas have great taste and very generous portions. Wine list has some of my favorite Sicilian houses for both red and white (except Planeta). Booking is recommended.

⭐️ Good location and street view. Delicious pizza and very hearty with lots of toppings. The pizza comes in different plates for two people at once. ❌ Very blunt knives. There is no English on the drinks menu and in general the whole menu is rather poorly adapted for tourists. The cocktails turned out to be heavily alcoholic.

Lots of show but little substance. The dishes, though beautifully presented, were mediocre (see photo). The service was the same. The waiters were courteous and well-presented, but they got the order wrong and the food arrived at the tables in spurts. Definitely below expectations.

Very nice restaraunt the food was amazing. We unfortunately didn't order any drinks but the looked amazing. We got the chickpea frites which were amazing. Crunchy and light. Scirocco Sicilian Fish Lab is a simple restaurant located in the iconic Catania fish market, offering Sicilian-style fried fish and seafood served in traditional paper cones. The dishes are prepared fresh daily, using fish sourced from the nearby Piscaria market stalls. The restaurant's founder, Marco Timpanaro, aimed to revive the tradition of Sicilian street food and bring attention to Catania's fish market as part of the city's heritage.
We stop for lunch and were not disappointed. As every nice place is now full of tourists but how can I complain when I'm one. The quality of the food is excellent. The fried fish is tasty, fresh and a reasonable quantity. The arancinetti were a real treat, strongly recommend them. And the swordfish caponata was refreshing and brought memories of the Mediterranean. Price is adequate and staff was very kind despite the horde of tourist.
Sergio O — Google review
This small fish fast-food spot is right in the city center, on a street near the main square where during the day there’s a fish market. The smell of fish is noticeable, but you can get used to it. The place had many positive reviews and always seemed busy, so I decided to try a fish’n’chips style cone. The staff was very friendly. The first time I went, I was told they didn’t serve fries, but I could get the fried cone on its own, which was fine. My order arrived within a minute or two, and it came with a plate, napkins, and lemon wedges. The fish was fresh, the batter crisp, and the quality of the seafood was excellent. Even as someone who normally doesn’t enjoy fish and seafood, I liked everything I tried. It was so good, that a few days later I went back. The cone was just as good as the first visit, served the same way. This time there were more small octopus pieces, which slightly dominated the mix compared to shrimp or calamari and other fish, but it was still very tasty. Overall the food is fresh, high quality, and consistently well prepared. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to try some seafood in a casual, fast-food style setting.

We saw a travel blog recommending this place. Had a lunch meal on our first day and it was great. The boneless seafood cone was awesome and the arancini were great. We were so impressed we went back for dinner on our last night. Easy ordering and they call your name out (loudly) with your order when its ready. Great quality food and worth the visit.

The food is pretty much perfect. They have a variety and they have as much as you need for a quick fish meal. A big con however is its location, Catania is kinda known for being dirty and smelly but this location was so bad. It smells really really bad, I was there at summer. Overall though it’s nice, it is kinda self service, you order to the counter and lay and they bring it to you. Nothing special, but the food is delicious!! (Sorry for the messy videos, they are from Live Photos and I need my points lol)

I tried octopus salad, sword fish/aubergine salad and boneless cone. If ı have chance to come again ı will the choose same three, no hesitation a perfect seafood place! I also got the couscous salad but I am not a big fan of it.
Safa S — Google review
Had boneless cone, lemon mayo, bread and beer. Cold beer & fried food in the heat never goes wrong. The seafood was well cooked - soft inside and crispy outside. Light & thin fry. Well seasoned that I felt that I did not need anything else (not even lemon). I would not recommend the bread though. The lemon mayo also had a lot of mint - which I enjoyed, but it was unpleasant surprise for my husband who does not like mint. Could be better if they clearly stated in the menu that there were mint also. We sat outdoors. Some fishy smell from the fish market nearby, but got used to it quickly that it did not bother much.

Good spot for lunch and snacks. Somewhat of a wait around lunchtime - maybe 15-20 minutes on a Saturday. While you wait in line, a table becomes available. Service is friendly and quick. Had the fennel/orange-salad and the fried cod fingers - both were great and delicious!

Very tasty and fast at reasonable prices! Wonderful fresh seafood, with beer and lemon juice - just wonderful! They cooked it very quickly, even though there was a long line. I'll definitely be back!

Nestled in the vibrant Mercato di Ortigia, Fratelli Burgio is a delightful deli and wine bar that has been a staple of the local culinary scene for generations. After exploring the archaeological wonders nearby, visitors can immerse themselves in this bustling market filled with colorful produce and enticing aromas. At Fratelli Burgio, you can indulge in their exquisite tagliere—an impressive selection of cured meats, cheeses, and marinated vegetables that perfectly captures the essence of Sicilian flavors.
Wow! Excellent spot at the start of busy, vibrant food market. We parked in one of the car parks across the road & just stumbled on it but what a find. Very busy but still got seated quickly. The selections of meat, cheese, fish or combo boards are excellent and as for their sandwiches, just awesome. Washed down with a nice dry white white or Aperol & you will have an awesome time. For coffee lovers you’ve got to have their shakerato - shaken, cold espresso served chilled in a martini glass!

Amazing sandwiches. Prosciutto mozzarella and tomato. spicy ventricina salami baked ricotta grilled peppers mixed salad chili pate spread and two small beers. Bread had sesame seeds. YUM! Place was packed and wildly efficient and service fast. We ended up going inside after lunch and buying more food, bread and goods to go.

Possibly the best sandwich bar in Italy😎🙏 Great service. Amazing quality of food and an amazing shop to spend 15 minutes in. A ginormous sandwich with the freshest and most authentic ingredients made by a guy with a real passion and for €7.

It’s a must. You can’t miss out on this spot. The food is spectacular, the ambience is unique, the speed at which food moves is something you have to experience for yourself. Let the lm recommend which wine to pair with your cold cuts / cheeses; you won’t regret it. Sit outside, people watch and enjoy the savory journey you’re about to embark on!

This was our absolute favourite place!! We made this part of our morning routine - we would run in the morning and then end with a coffee and we had two different GO TO meals. Burrata with the zucchini and quince jam! This with the mortadella was insane flavours. We also tried the salad croissants which is where you can choose the same filling as the sandwiches but in the croissants. We also took sandwiches down to the beach one day- we were told that the sandwich bar next door was average and this could be true even though we didn’t try next door! Great staff - a serious institution!!

Nestled in a charming alleyway just behind the stunning Norman Cathedral, Ristorante La Galleria is a delightful find for anyone exploring the historic streets of Palermo. This rustic trattoria offers an authentic taste of Sicilian cuisine, featuring delectable seafood pasta and hearty meat dishes that are sure to satisfy any palate.
I'm not sure what the slightly odd recent reviews are about, ignore them! I suspect these people prefer the more generic food of a fancy hotel to the traditional, delicious food, clearly cooked with love and attention, that we received at La Galleria. Hearty portions, great quality cooking and the friendliest of service is what you'll get at this restaurant. There isn't a dish we had that I wouldn't recommend to be honest. The fried cheese was tangy and salty and I wish I could eat some now. The sardine pasta was out of this world and don't get me started on the wine-list....so many local, well-priced bottles to choose from. My wine-loving husband was in heaven. The lady that served us was so warm and helpful. I'm afraid we didn't catch her name. In fact, we liked it so much, we visited again the next day and did it all over again. This is a must-visit restaurant when you're in Palermo. Until next time....

Fantastic food, incredible atmosphere. Steps away from a tourist hub without the tourist trap feel. My wife and I went back two nights in a row just for the authentic trattoria feel and great food. Carlos, Farad, and staff took great care of us! Highly recommend the Norma pasta!

Lovely atmosphere, wonderfully kind staff, and absolutely delicious food! This became our favourite restaurant in Palermo. We enjoyed it so much that we went back a second time during our five-day stay. I highly recommend booking a table in advance, as it’s usually quite busy, especially at dinner.

Best food I had in Palermo and among the best in Sicily. The wait was a little long despite reservations but that’s because the place is so good. They do have a lot of seating if outdoor space is open, and ambience is excellent. Inside was really cool and rustic and outside in an amazing part of town with a lot of old world charm. All the locals said this was the best food in the city, and they were correct! Our waiter Farad was amazing and worked really hard, was awesome with recommendations and very friendly. This restaurant is definite go to!!!

A great spot, even if it’s a bit touristy - excellent location, with a charming stone courtyard in traditional Sicilian style and cool air-conditioned seating inside. The staff speaks English, and the food was excellent, especially the seafood pasta. We were very happy with our visit! I’d recommend coming right at opening time or booking in advance to get a table.
Mariia G — Google review
Went for lunch without a booking and La Galleria was busy but we grabbed a seat at the bar and had a glass of wine while we waited for a table for about 20 minutes. Staff were friendly and despite being busy with other patrons were happy to recommend some wines to try and kept us updated about our table availability. The food was very good (we had fish and seafood soup), served promptly. For a busy restaurant on a busy day, the service was exceptional: warm and friendly, and very attentive. Overall a highly recommended option if you’re in Palermo.

Arrived from NYC and this place was recommended by one of tour guides. A reservation is highly recommended. They have an extensive local wine list. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the ravioli , pasta with sausage, and the pork with potatoes. The desert was excellent. It was the best food we had in Palermo.

Pasticceria Artale is a renowned establishment in Syracuse, offering a wide selection of classic Sicilian confectionery such as cannoli and cassata. Additionally, they serve savory options for lunch and dinner. For a delightful start to your day, Voglia Matta is recommended for its tantalizing array of Sicilian sweets and exceptional granita.
I am Sicilian, and I ate cannoli my entire life. So my bar is set high for this type of food. And I have to say, better than I have ever had. So fresh and creamy. It was absolutely out of this world. Even the cannoli themselves were crunchy in a good way, and that's how it is supposed to be. They were the biggest I have ever had!
JC — Google review
If you are in Ortigia, you cannot miss Pasticceria Artale. Their cannolo is simply unforgettable – the shell is perfectly crisp and delicate, while the ricotta filling is creamy, fresh, and full of authentic Sicilian flavor. It’s the perfect balance of texture and taste, not too sweet, just perfect. The pasticceria itself is welcoming and full of tempting pastries, but the cannolo truly stands out as one of the best I have ever had. The staff are friendly and take great pride in their craft, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
Lacri S — Google review
My favourite granita I've had in Sicily so far! The brioche was so fresh and warm. The staff was lovely and suggested I try a mix of almond and pistachio - delicious.
Leah P — Google review
Good breakfast, nothing mind-blowing. The cannoli are massive, maybe even too much (I’ve never seen them so big to be honest). Everything was good and prices were fair, but it just felt like a normal breakfast you could have anywhere in Italy, nothing really special.

If you want to eat traditional breakfast, this is the right place. 2 capuccinos, brioche, granita were all together 8 euros. Best granita in Ortigia!

The restaurant TRATTORIA 'Al GattoNero' offers delicious, fresh, and home-cooked food. The friendly and helpful staff create a warm atmosphere. One minor drawback is the absence of a menu, which may result in surprising prices. However, the generous portion sizes include first plates (such as beans) and second plates (like meat with potatoes), accompanied by a large water. Despite this, some customers find the overall price of 40 euros excessive for what they ate.
Best food we ate during our two week Italy adventure between Rome and Sicily. The soup warmed our hearts, the beef was fresh and well made, and we could have married the pasta. They have a great alcohol selection, charming ambiance, and excellent service. Honest, honest review. We aim for local/authentic restaurants everywhere we go. Extra tip: depending on which app you use for directions, it might direct you five minutes shy of the restaurant near a gas station. If so, keep driving, turn right(you’ll see a list of signs in white that include the name of this restaurant), and continue to bare right. You’ll arrive in a neighborhood and the restaurant will be on the left next to their store.

Trattoria Al Gatto Nero is a solid choice if you’re in the area—delicious homemade food, generous portions, friendly and welcoming service, and a relaxed, unpretentious vibe. Mamma Caura is a unique dining spot located in the Trapani province of Marsala city, within the SEI - Saline Ettore and Infersa. The restaurant is housed in a renovated shack inside the Saltpans of Marsala and offers a multi-level experience.
Restaurant with amazing atmosphere with a view on mulino and sunset. We took fresh oysters, tartare from red shrips, seafood fritura, lemon risotto based on Marsalas’s wine and cous cous with seafood. All them was really great. I recommend this restaurant!
Tadeusz W — Google review
The atmosphere and setting are truly beautiful. However, the food portions are quite small more of a gourmet style so it feels overpriced for something that wasn’t particularly exceptional. Please remember to book a table in advance through their website, as it can get very crowded. Note that there’s a fee to secure your reservation, but it will be deducted from your final bill.
Laura V — Google review
Today brought a bit of serendipity: I visited the salt plains near Marsala and discovered Sei Mamma Cara, a restaurant with stunning views of the windmills and shimmering salt pools. The setting is truly *bellissimo*—I can only imagine how magical sunset must be here. For lunch, we enjoyed local specialties: fresh tuna and amberjack, both beautifully prepared to highlight their natural flavors. The seafood was perfectly complemented by a crisp Catarratto wine, a Sicilian classic known for its citrus and mineral notes that pair so well with the region’s fish. Contrary to some reviews, the service was attentive and friendly, even in the 34-degree heat. The menu and wine list were extensive, and everything we tried was excellent. I’d return in a heartbeat for a sunset dinner and drinks—this place is a true gem on the Sicilian coast.

Beautiful place, we did the salt flats visit in English and had the aperitivo on the rooftop.
Annalaura M — Google review
The atmosphere and service is as always good, we have been here many times before and always enjoyed it and bring guests with us every time. Although this time the aperitif menu booked in advance is extremely expensive for what it is, one drink and three small bruschetta for €30! Is way too much.
Mark T — Google review
The sunset rooftop experience was amazing. The waiter was extremely useful and had so much useful information about the salt pans. I was expecting the food not to match the view, however, the food was exquisite. The octopus was out of this world and was the best I have ever tried. I would 100% recommend the roof top expire at sun set to anyone.
Guy B — Google review
It was not busy (out of high season) and there was plenty of staff. Many had looked at our table several times, but it took about 20 minutes after we asked to order before somebody came. Also, it's super overpriced, a coca cola costs more here than in the center of Rome. The location is beautiful though.

Nick C — Google review
Be careful, prices on the menu don't include service fee at this place. At the very end of the menu, where NOBODY would read it, they say it's 2 Euro service fee per person. So instead of 22€ we paid 26€ for 2 pizzas. We've been traveling Italy for 2 weeks now and been to several restaurants. Literally none of them had a service fee hidden in the menu. If i noticed it earlier, i would not have given a tip on top. Addition: I have just read that Italian law does not allow to put service fees at a place where they are not likely to be read. Customers have to be informed upfront. They must be placed so that customers are likely to read them before they order. So this practice is actually illegal. Edit: They have an English menu in which all dishes are described in English. Now guess what the only part is that was not translated. In the English menu, you don't have service fee, you have "Coperto 2€". Also it doesn't mention at all that it is per person and not per table. This absolutely can't be legal. Edit 2: After reading other reviews saying that people feel like they were overcharged or they just don't know what made their bill so expensive in the end, it's very obvious most people don't find the service fee on the menu as it is also not mentioned on the handwritten(!) receit. We will file a complaint with local authorities and Italian consumer associations.

They add hidden coperto (its not ok to add some charging for table at all, but not telling customer at any time, just give whole sum at end together and made them thinkimg, where come from this ammount of money.. bunch of thieves) - this is killer for any vibe. Pizza was ok, but maybe just take away. Fish main dish was some poor salad with tomato, and 3 fish pieces... (25euro) People in italy thing they can steal from tourist bc they dont go back. This will backfire someday

We went here on a Friday night in search of pizza. Got there at 9pm and they’d run out. They convinced us to stay with 10% off the main menu and we’re so glad we did. Really good Sicilian food that you’d not be surprised to see in a fancy restaurant at double the price. I had the amberjack fillet (white fish) with potato fondant and oyster mushroom. My partner had busiate pasta with clams. Perfectly cooked, flavoured and presented. Locals dining and chatting in a relaxed atmosphere, with very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

My experience at Pizzeria Vecchio Stile on Favignana was nothing short of excellent, perfectly balancing superb food with genuine Sicilian hospitality. The highlight was undeniably the Quattro Formaggi pizza, which featured a perfectly cooked, airy base and a wonderfully rich, high-quality cheese blend, easily making it one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. Beyond the food, the service was wonderfully kind and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The management’s commitment to quality is evident, as the owner is present and hands-on, ensuring every detail is taken care of—a level of care exemplified by the thoughtful gift of fresh fichi d’India (prickly pears) we received. This pizzeria is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic flavours, great service, and a truly lovely dining experience on the island.

"U Coppu Friggitoria" is a popular spot known for its fresh and delicious fried seafood, offering a good variety of options. While some find the prices to be on the higher side for the serving size, many still recommend trying it out, especially when paired with a cold beer. The thin and crispy batter complements the fresh fish, and the portions are generous.
great food! Sandwiches and arancino’s are top tier. If I was to recommend, take the polpo and nero di seppia arancinos. And as for the sandwich, Cala Rossa is the best😉👍

Super nice little place, a bit hidden from the big piazza. Seems like a generic fast food place but has actually excellent antipasto. Known locally for their excellent frittura which I greatly recommend. Good amount of food for decent prices. Happy and super nice staff. Rustic atmosphere. Can be crowded at times.

I think that I discovered my favourite restaurant in Favignana! 🤩 First place where english is perfectly spoken! The staff is very friendly 👌🏼 Open space restaurant all day, and pet friendly 🐶 For lunch you can eat pizzas and salads. For dinner also pizzas and other meat plates. We have been here twice and the pizzas and the hamburgers are absolutely delicious!! We paid 3€/pax for coperto

WOW, must be one of the best Pizza I had! The fried, baked pizza bread is amazing! Not greasy at all, just a smoother, kind of donut'y taste to it. I had a vegetariana, and my boyfriend ordered a burger, but they were out of burger bread so it was replaced with pizza bread, best decision ever! Main courses were between 12-20€, we had local brewed beer for 8€ & shared a tiramisu for 10€. It's like one of the meals you want to have again before you finish the plate. MUST TRY!

Great pizza! We honestly went to another restaurant on the seafront and the cocktails weren’t great, so we called into this place on the way home at 10pm and were really impressed! Pizzas were generous in size and with 2 beers, it cost us almost the same amount as the cocktails at the other place. We will be back again soon! 😊

Being a Sicilian who travels a lot and lives in Ireland, a good Pizza is something I miss. There's nothing that can beat the way we do pizza. Something that is even more rare to find is the creativity and the ability to create wonderful presentations with the dishes. I've ordered a Walk On Pizza, which is a Fried Calzone filled with fior di latte mozzarella and mortadella. On top the pesto and pistachios gave an amazing taste to this masterpiece. My girlfriend and I loved it so much that we decided to come again the next day as well. We are aiming to try many different pizzas from them. It was simply one of the best we had in our lives. If you go, remember to order some pettoline, they're definitely a must!

Pizza was good. Tuna steak was burnt and bitter, terrible way for good fresh tuna, sweets are terrible with factory made sauces. Less than 2.5 average normal quality.

What lovely service with Frederico and the owners and amazing food we enjoyed on our first trip to Lipari. If we come back this will be on our list. Grazie mile
Margaret O — Google review
Probably the best gluten-free pizza in my life so far. I had the Speck e Zola (pomodoro, mozzarella, speck, gorgonzola). The pizza was cooked in an aluminum foil pan which was served on the platter. The crust stuck a little to the aluminum pan but it didn't matter. It was a thin crust. The staff and service were excellent. I'm not sure what else is celiac friendly. Frankly I'm not sure I would try anything else. Add a little olive oil with spicy pepper and enjoy.

Everywhere I go in Italy I look for my pasta ala Norma. This was the best by far. The sauce was not too sweet & not acidic. Prepared perfectly. Served with a smile. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. Just lovely.

It was my first visit. The pizza was hard and overpriced. I was told to keep away from the place from people who have been to the restaurant. This time I was invited by a friend so I thought I would give it ago, since I spend a lot of time in Lipari every year. I was utterly disappointed and I will never return.

I had the impression this restaurant place expects you to have more than one pizza and one drink. Otherwise they won’t pay too much attention and will give just regular service to you, meaning, tables with wine will have certain preference. We ordered Diavola and it was fine though.

The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere as you savor dishes like their signature tuna kebab paired with grilled eggplant and salad—a light yet satisfying meal option.
best tuna we have ever eaten! I had the pistachio tuna burger and the pistachio potatoes with it. Incredibly delicious! The tuna pizza is also very tasty, the portion is very large! All in all a very tasty restaurant, I would recommend it to everyone!!

We ordered the tuna paninis with a side of potatoes, and everything was delicious and very filling. I'd especially recommend trying the potatoes with pistachio; even though it's just a side dish, it was one of the standout flavors of the meal!

Wow — the portions here are huge, we couldn’t even finish! We tried lots — the tuna kebab, burger, steak, and pistachio potato and each one was delicious. Loved the many creative interpretations of tuna — there’s truly something for everyone. The staff were super friendly, service was quick, and the prices were really reasonable for the quality and quantity. The only slight downside was the bathrooms, but honestly, the food and atmosphere more than make up for it.

We ordered 2 tuna kebab panini and a side of potatoes with pistachio topping. My panino was with the “bomba” filling and my wife had the “pistachio” filling. Mine was about the size of my face… 😆 Best tuna dish we’ve ever had. For us, this was next level. Highly recommended.
Jonathan B — Google review
The best Tuna burger I have ever eaten! Potatoes wedges are also delicious! A must try!
Manlio T — Google review
We went for a street food lunch, we took a pistacchioso and a piccantino tuna kebab (the kebab in Sicily is the bred filled with meat, in this case tuna). The staff was friendly and approachable. The panini were more than delicious, high quality ingredients, right amount. This is the real comfort food, good for your body and your soul! Maybe the drinks are a bit overpriced, but I believe it’s the island regular situation. We went back the night after and took the tuna plates: they are all served with salad and bruschette and you get a bit bigger amount of food, for €9. We loved this place, if you are in Favignana, it’s the best place to eat (amazing food for the right price).

For €10 we had the most wonderful Red Tuna Panini. It was a huge slab of Tuna, beautifully cooked, served with onions. It was incredibly simple and incredibly delicious. Excellent pizza first of all, I had diavola and my gf had margherita, both were delicious. It's a take away place and but has some benches out side, which you order and sit to wait. They sell beer and soft drinks as well, with very reasonable prices. We had our food at benches outside and it's a nice experience, friendly and cosy atmosphere.

Isabella M — Google review
If you're looking for an easy, cheap meal one evening, this is the place to go. It is more of a take-out, but there are a small number of benches with tables outside the place. The ordering system involves going to the counter, putting in and paying for your order and then waiting around outside to be shouted in by the server. They have beers here too. English menu is under the big, Italian menu on the wall. Margherita is recommended, and is Campagna. Only gripe here was that there was a long wait in between each person ordering as the guy on the counter alternated between serving a person and taking an order over the phone.

Incredible experience. Arrived in the morning and found cashier speaking only Sinhala and pretending not speaking nor understanding Italian even asked several times. Bought two shots of cold Malvasia but again could pay only cash because cashier did not know how to use the bank card reader so we had to wait for the owner. Soon some locals dropped in telling their stories about life in Lipari and playing local lottery chicken machine that made us laugh. Suddenly some pirate looking man appeared from the backstage of the bar and sat in the chair in outside silent. He was sitting all the time in silence. Some other strange locals arrived standing on the motorcycle and speaking with them selves stared at us and without word to say to us just drove further. In some 20 minutes owner arrived with the bottle of Malvasia for 30 eur. We recommend this place for the experience and adventures that awaits you here.

There was no menu, we had to choose what was in the window, the service was quite slow. (Original) Nous avons voulu manger un midi, la serveuse parlait seulement italien, difficile de se comprendre. Pas de carte pour manger, nous avons dû choisir ce qu’il y avait à la vitrine, le service à était assez long.

(Translated by Google) Street food place overlooking Piazzetta Garibaldi. I must say that we were pleasantly surprised, we ordered panelle, French fries, grilled chicken breast and a mixed salad and we really liked everything. Crispy chips, not too greasy, as well as really tasty panelle. The chicken breast is delicious and also the salad which is usually served frozen. Correct price. Recommended for a quick meal. Prezzo corretto. Consigliato per un pasto veloce.

(Translated by Google) For a simple dinner near the church, we had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious chicken salad, served with a small bag of soft bread and two sandwiches with excellent quality meat. I loved the idea of being able to dress the salad myself with all the sachets of oil, vinegar, and spices they provide. My salad was superb! Since it's made in Sicily, I would have preferred the croquettes made by them and not frozen. The panelle were good, but a little overcooked.

(Translated by Google) This small place, just off the crowded Via Roma in the center of Lampedusa, is the ideal solution if you want to have an easy dinner without a reservation and without too many frills. Outside there are a few tables that are set with simple paper placemats, after which you can order from a menu with a choice of meat, bruschetta, large toasts, cutting boards, etc. and you are served in a very reasonable time. The quality is good, the dishes are plentiful and the prices are very correct (€20 each with what you see in the photos)... I absolutely recommend it as an alternative during a week's holiday!

(Translated by Google) While on vacation in Lampedusa, we stumbled upon (and returned several times) this restaurant, located on a side street off Via Roma, looking for simple, traditional dishes. The staff were kind and friendly, and the service was top-notch and fast. And the food... as a Sicilian who's lived in the north for a few years, I felt right at home. It's a bit like when you go to your grandmother's and she makes you your favorite dish. The classic appetizers, like arancini, panelle, and croquettes, are also available, as are salads, sandwiches, bruschetta, and meat. The veal and horse meatballs are a definite hit! Greetings to the staff.

(Translated by Google) The girls who run it are wonderful. They make you live a unique experience on this island. In the heart of Via Roma, precisely in the church square, you have the opportunity to taste typical products of all kinds. Anna and Ornella allow you to dine or have an aperitif in good company. I recommend visiting them often, they always have good advice to give you over a beer. Top! (Original) Le ragazze che gestiscono sono meravigliose. Ti fanno vivere in esperienza unica in quest’isola.
