this’s a racist bar ??? I came here because of its reputation. My friend paid 50k to borrow shoes because he was wearing slippers. Actually, there is nothing wrong with that. But when I entered the bar, I found that more than two local guests were wearing slippers and no one stopped them. I can't help but suspect that this is a racist bar. I hope the bar can treat everyone equally, otherwise it will not be as simple as falling out of the top 100 in Asia.

Cool hangout place for a sip of cocktail, live music, or a quick shot of booze. Cocktail was good, tried the tropical essence which made of double rums and pineapple, quite refreshing and easy to drink. However, during my last visit, there was no one to usher us to our table (despite the bar has already opened at 6 and I have made prior reservation) while group of employees were gathered next to the bar area having a good laugh with no single person seems to give attention to us. We decided to take the sofa, but after a while was asked politely to move to the bar front area. I do really hope that the service could really compliment the good cocktail, otherwise a little misunderstanding could ruin somebody night.

We had the best hospitality here. We ordered the Starling Society and Manhattan, made by Rizal, and he was very informative about the cocktails. The place also has a great atmosphere and there is no wonder that they made it to the 100 best bars in Asia list. Would definitely come back here soon

Located at Jl. Ahmad Yani. 2nd floor of Bowery and Eastman restaurant. Open from 8pm-3am. Not so spacious but the ambience is warm and cozy. Music 90's is airing very often. The bartender and server both are friendly. The ac very cold. Will be come back for sure.

I had a great experience at Wishbone. I came with my best friend without a reservation and the hostess greeted us very kindly, and allowed us to sit at the bar. Wiba is the one who took care of us, and provided a personal service which we really appreciate. Ordered a couple of drinks, and they came in a timely manner. LOVE the band, T&T? (sorry i forgot hehe) They are so much fun and so entertaining! We had no idea there would be live music so this was a pleasant surprise for us. The midnight dj has good music too. We had fun! Highly recommended to hangout with some friends, have a drink or if you want to party!

What I really love about this cool spot is the vintage New York style with all the cozy aspect but not intimidating. The ambience is inviting, plus the service from the staffs are all very helpful and they know their products very well. Cocktails is okay and the food is great. Haven't tried the wine yet, but I next visit I will. Large (and secure) parking for both cars & motorbike. Price is still affordable and I heard their live music is also a highlight of this place.

Excellent restoran in Semarang city, great serve from their staff and very communicative. They can explain detail menu if we ask it. For price is worth it with a delicious taste. Recommended for dinner with family. One favorit cocktail is new york sour ( classic cocktail) 😊😊

Great vibe, good food, live band and really can't fault it. It is like a surprise hidden gem and I didn't know such place existed in Semarang. However, smoking is allowed indoor on another side of venue and it did have impact on my enjoyment as I have allergy, I wish I can give a half star. Surprising reasonable price for food and drink too for such a nice place. Great service.

Nice food but small portion. Their speciality is wine and licquor. The staff are very welcome and fast response. I was come with colleague on Tuesday and the restaurant is a bit crowded. The minus is there is no separation between smoking area and no smoking area.

The outdoor seating is very cozy. Real bar ambience. The music is good and the food selections are great. A bit pricey but I guess the food worth the price. They hold lots of events that made the place even more live! Drinks selections are great as well. You could feel the international atmosphere there. Staff are friendly. Visiting there at night is more recommended.

Sakapatat is definitely the best place to chill or hangout with your loved ones in semarang. Food is great, generous portions, and cocktails are on point. Nasi goreng seafood is the best nasi goreng i’ve had in Indonesia and for an expat living in Indonesia, trust me, i tried lots of nasi goreng but nothing came close to Sakapatat’s. Burgers are also all so great and the quattro fromaggi pizza is so good. The spicy wings are also great but careful with how spice you ask it to be because if you’re a chilli lover, this can be the hottest thing you’ve ever had. Prices are very decent for food and drinks. I think it’s the only place in Semarang that has shisha. And i almost forgot to mention, it’s pet friendly too. I love this place and i miss it when it’s been long. Highly recommended.

Good place to chill with friends, and there's live music starting from at 8pm. I ordered pizza but for beef it smells bad :( it's like that, how i don't know. for Aglio e olio the taste is delicious. Overall ok hehe :)

One of my favorite place in town to chill with my friends. They got a special promo too (free beer), every friday at 5-6pm. The chips is good but honestly i dont really like the way they put fried onion on the chips. It has bar seats and table seats, and couple of outdoor seats. It's not a really family place, more like a place to hang out w friends. The service is always so fine.

Sakapatat is famous for expat. I know this place from my girlfriend who lives in Europe. I've been once in sakapatat yogyakarta and I think both places were cozy. The staffs were very friendly for welcoming us and help to find a table. Unfortunately I didn't find great food both of places.. it's tasteless. I think it's better if you visit for drinks. Prices were standard and they served a lot of variable of imported beer. DJ played very smart numbers. It's recommend for you to visit for casual drink.

Not recommending this place at all. My personal experience is pretty bitter. We were there Saturday night & it was bit crowded. Bought 1 Whisky and had 1 round with 3 other friends and went to dancing floor.when we came back for the 2nd round bottle was missing. Bottle was on the Main bar table .when I inquire this from Bar manager response was very negative. There were many bouncers around but if with such experience how an u go and enjoy 🙃 Made an official complaint and waiting for response.

Randomly looking for local bar to spend with my husband last night at semarang turns out has the best experience ever! The embience reminds us with mexicola, We had no expectation what so ever, however the service was super excellent! No bar & jakarta can compete. We sat at the bar for the rest of the night, since the service from all bartender staffs was exceptional... Kudos mas pangestu, mas gillang and mbak hana!! Totally recommend this place and hope you guys have the experience as we do even better.

This is my first time in Old Town of Semarang. The church is just under restoration. Very good places to visit. Worth it.

Gereja Blenduk is considered to be a landmark in Semarang. Old yet iconic and historical. It used to be a Dutch church and up until now it is still operating. Open for public to visit but also open for Sunday Mass. Located at the heart of Semarang Old Town. The building is still properly maintained. The style is very 'Dutch'. Come in the morning for a great view and less crowded for photo session.

After that, be sure to take a stroll across the streets admiring the ancient city. The roads, lamps, buildings - are colonial Dutch era that makes you think you are in an European town!

Good food! Good drink! Amazing ambience, the waitress and the service was top notch. Lots of variety of food from Indonesian to Western cuisine, lots of cocktails and the price was very reasonable.

Better come with reservation! Without reservation, even if you waited in line for 3 more people, be prepared to wait for 2 hours. (We were only 2 people) Receptionist downstairs isn’t friendly nor informative. Impolite as hell, didn’t even apologise for whatever inconvenience. came upstairs and there were still empty tables. The queue wasn’t moving and yet she can’t give any information about it. Waiting area is a joke, people can smoke while kids are around, outdoor at this hot weather with mosquitoes. All those upgrades and can’t afford a nice waiting room. Gotta pay valet too if you cancel after all the wait. Older tavern seems better somehow.

Always our go to place to have steak. The menu here is well picked. Most of the food we had here never disappoints. The service is great, the ambience is great. They have live music in the evening. Our faves here : Ribeye steak Grilled chicken breast Sirloin steak Potato skins Mozarella stick Baby back ribs (pork) Floral Gin n Tonic There’s many more. You just have to come here and experience it yourself.

Rather upscale chilling space with great ambience and serving. The food itself isn't that worthy to be rated as perfect, but there's nothing to complain. The beverage on the other hand are awesome. It's too bad I'm driving and had few sleep prior, that I had to miss their alcoholic lineups. The day i went was Tuesday and there's a love performance by a guy with guitar and singing like he's drunk. It hurts me a lot up until now.

Really great food, there are options for non-halal too. Sadly, they only took last order at around 10 or 11 pm and closed at 12 pm. It's a bit too dark for my liking, but overall, it's very cozy and chill place. The waiters are great, and the prices also worth it.

Great food with great atmosphere around. Friendly and polite staff. Food we ordered and experience: #1 The pork ribs platter was tasty and very classic barbeque dish featuring a simple yet delicious combination of sweet, sour and savoury sauce. The mashed potatoes and simple salad as side dishes were perfect combination. #2 The Pizza was tasty, the tomato base and the cheese matched with the selecrion of toppings. An awesome combos in a pizza. #3 The fish and chips was a little bit off, because it made of pieces of chunky fish instead one whole fillet. But it was delicious though. Hopefully it could be much better in the near future. This is a positive reviews afterall. Will definitely come again. R&D

Quite small train station not many food tenants in here but they have convenience store. Not so busy on the weekdays. They provide self printing ticket, and for indonesians, you can register easy check in with face id before entering the gate

This is the main train station in Semarang, Center Java. Old architecture building but still in good condition with modern facilities. Need more improvement in toilet and another facilities. They have their own house blend as well as from others. Must try their salted caramel mocha which is served uniquely in measurement glasses so you can adjust the taste as your preference. This bar is hidden from the main road, perhaps that’s why it’s almost empty every time I visit this bar. However, this place deserves more love. Draught beer is great with reasonable price. And now they have this free flow 99k beer promotion. Food wise, tandoori pizza is here to die for! Close to perfection! Whoever the Chef is, great job! As for the staffs here, you guys are doing a great job! Keep smiling and keep the same attitude! There will be light at the end of the tunnel😊 My honest opinion towards the management, you might want to brighten up the street thats leading to this bar. A very nice ambiance with delicious meals and friendly service. I tried the Yakitori & The Summer. They're so good. The roof top will let you see the city of Semarang, it was sad that the sky was so cloudy when I was there. I highly recommend that anyone visit this place.

One of the highly recommended rooftop places to try in Semarang. The place is really very nice with a very cool view. The place is clean and the service is also good. Can choose indoor and outdoor. The food and drinks are varied and the prices are still affordable. There is live music so that adds to the plus value of this place. Even though there are many visitors, this place really makes the visitors very calm and suitable for healing.

One of the newest & hottest spot to hangout in Semarang. The view is spectacular with the best time on the sunset. The service from the greeter to the waiters waitresses are all great, very courteous and helpful. The only downside is the guests elevator and the restroom at the rooftop. The rest of the experience is awesome, from the vibes to the music. Parking lot is large enough to accommodate the guests. Food can be at the better stage & portion.

We have held an event for 40 people on the rooftop and we’re satisfied with the friendly and helpful staff. At the night, the cafe is comfortable with great view of the lights of the city of Semarang and live music too. We were took a lot of pictures here. As for the art on display, while the pieces showcased are interesting and varied, I felt that the collection was somewhat limited. Given the entry fee of Rp25.000 per person, I expected a more extensive exhibition. The current selection, although thoughtfully curated, left me wanting more in terms of quantity and variety. Overall, the Semarang Contemporary Art Gallery provides a pleasant escape for art enthusiasts looking to explore local contemporary works. However, the experience could be enhanced with better climate control and a more comprehensive collection of art pieces. Despite these areas for improvement, it’s still a nice place to visit for those interested in the arts, just be prepared for a warmer than expected visit.

The only one contemporary art museum in Semarang I guess. Located in the heart of Semarang 'Kota Lama' and the building is a former Dutch building. The place is quite small. The paintings will be changing following the enacted theme at the time of visiting. Yet at the second floor, there's no AC so its very hot plus Semarang weather during noon time is also very hot. And the ticket is quite expensive for a small exhibition in my opinion.

I've always liked visiting galleries. There's always something interesting to learn about! The gallery had "night market" as their theme while i visited. Since I am a local, it was easy to get information on the pieces. However, it would be nice to provide english explanation to cater for tourists. I hope that this could be improved 😊 Though it looks nice, I do think the gallery need repairs. Especially the leaky roof on the second floor. Also, it was pretty warm inside, maybe consider adding air conditioner/fans for comfort.

This is an excellent attempt to promote local contemporary artists, though the works seem to be from among a limited pool of artists with not much variety in style. Nevertheless, worth a short visit for some pics in a trendy gallery if you’re in the heart of Kota Lama.

Lovely small art gallery in the heart of Semarang’s old town. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the gallery itself and the displayed artworks. The temperature and air circulation should be improved. 25.000Rp are an okay price.

The place isn't huge. Two floors and not many artwork exhibited when I happened to be there. It was clean, there are three small couches we can sit on and relax for a bit in the middle of the criminally hot weather of Semarang. It would be a lot better if they maximize the space and put on more artwork, cause the place was definitely spacious enough and they weren't doing a good job to exhibit as many artwork as they can.. Overall, it's not bad. I personally think this place could be a 5 star art gallery if there were more artwork being presented. Also, the ticket was 20k IDR.

Good place for a dinner with really good live music! The vintage design and atmosphere inside are great, I really loved their ceiling with round sash windows. 💙 Because of really loud music a waiter had difficulty taking the order and served a wrong dish for my friend. I completely fell in love with the building from day one. I truly appreciate the entire Marabunta team for their effort and hospitality during my event. The service could be improved a little if the waiters & the kitchen were a bit quicker to respond, but overall ok. We were also given a free food tasting with quite a generous portion, which helped us choose the menu confidently before the big day. I know this was their first wedding event at Marabunta, and I genuinely hope they will host more intimate celebrations like this in the future, hopefully with even better service and coordination. Great place to hang out and chill, but need to reserve it first to save a table. Love the interior and the vibes with live music! Service was excellent. I ordered some dishes so we could spend min. IDR 150k/pax for our reserved table: 1. Cassava Nachos (3.5/5) It was just simply cassava chips with toppings (mayo, chicken), so nothing really special for me. Still it tasted good for appetizer. 2. Mac and Cheese Bitterballen (5/5) This one was umami, love the cheesey taste which melted perfectly in your mouth. Well the plating was quite unique and I liked it. 3. Wagyu Sei Pizza (5/5) THE MOST FAVOURITE OF ALL! Love the tender and juicy Sei Beef. It perfectly blended with the crisp of the enoki. The sauce was umami and tasteful. The toppings were generous as well. 4. Truffle Carbonara Pasta (4/5) It actually was good however the carbonara was using cream, I thought so it gave 'eneg' after taste. The truffle was quite dominant which was good as well. The thing that I preferred from Marabunta was the big portion. It was all worthy of the price.

I liked this place a lot. Great view, comfortable seats, and amazing service! Honestly, this is on the pricey side of restaurants. I got this beef bowl thing (I forgot what it's called) for ~70k. Taste is good with an okay portion, but I don't think it justifies the price. Anyways, the service was top tier. The servers have initiatives to help us. The atmosphere was good because we got a good view of the city. They also got a huge menu, like huge huge. From snacks to Indonesian food, they got it all. Would I come back? Probably not because I'm not from Semarang and would prefer to try their traditional cuisine over this restaurant.

Much to my surprise, this restaurant has been going on 2 years, yet this is my first visit here 😅 Better late than never, like I always say 👌🏻 The decor, ambience of the whole place is very pleasant. Especially the outdoor area. Food wise they are fairly good, some are too sweet for my taste,but overall they're alright. Will definitely return to try other dishes. Great place to bring guests definitely.

The location was on the 3rd floor, in that building there was also another shop. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quite comfortable, cool, also an outdoor area to enjoying the view of Semarang City. Some of the menus we ordered were also quite tasty, unfortunately the cake we ordered for dessert were not fresh, like it has been in the chiller for too long.

The kakigori menu was unavailable said by the cashier. Then i said i was here for it. Then the cashier said OK (with bit angry face) - Kakigori strawberry: ⭐️ lack of taste-shaved ice, and in bottom of ice there is A LOT roti tawar ‘s es podeng😂very disappoint - blueberry cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake and mango tiramisu was ok. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ its sauce was pretty plenty btw😂very different from Tembalang store. ⭐️⭐️overall. Be better next time.

Place is well-hidden. The google maps does not help much as it was inside another building. The sign should be lightened up for visibility as it barely visible during nighttime. Millecrepe is great, slightly on the expensive side but i feel is very much worth the price. Lots of options too. Definitely recommended for mille crepe lover.

Found a (literally) hidden gem cafe in Semarang. At first glance, the signage is not seen from the roadway, but turns out the cafe is comfy and artsy. There are not a lot of indoor seatings, but the outdoor is spacious. I tried the mille crepe: the Lotus Biscoff and Belgian Chocolate. The taste is just right, not too sweet, and it is not pricey at all. I think it is the best dessert cafe I found so far in Semarang!

The millicrepes are mostly good looking and really inducing your brain to try some. As for the taste, it's decent but not great, some are way too sweet, for example the dark chocolate/belgian chocolate, we were expecting for a stronger and bold chocolate taste, but nope, its just a sugary sweet millicrepes. The indoor dining room are limited for 3 or 4 tables only. When we came there is 2 empty tables without reservation sign, but when we wanna sit there one of the staff said it's reserved already. The staff suggests us to go to their upper level dining area. The upper dining area is quite hot and dusty, considering this place would be really hot during daytime, so people rarely dining up here. Nevertheless the cleanliness should be keep maintained eventhough people rarely occupy the place. Since this place is located in tourist area like Kota Lama, so the prices are quite expensive bu still acceptable and affordable.

The location is in around Kota Lama. I went here after visited Semarang Art Gallery. It is really near the gallery so you only need to walk. There are two floors, the first floor is indoor but it has limited seats while the second floor is outdoor area. I ordered Tiramisu & French Vanilla Mille Crêpe also Iced Americano & (i forgot the name but it's kind of lemonade and stuffs). Definitely would recommend Bloomery if you guys craving for cake and patisserie! The taste won't disappoint you🍰🥧 Oh and cashless people shouldn't be worried!

The mille crepe is hands down one of the best in town! Love the vibe, just hope the indoor part was a bit larger, it'd be much better. But, overall it was a nice experience. Ill dwfinitely come again!❤

The location of the place is in the rooftop of the grand edge hotel (SL floor). They have a great view from the top with big glass windows whole around the place. Water was running down through the window with expectations could cooling down hit from the sunligh. But, unfortunately it doesn't helps. They should plant more plants whole around the place. Next of the bar is a restaurant for hotel's guests for having breakfast. We had dinner at the bar but, the taste were nothing special. With that price they should give better meals. The blue lighting as their name was very nice and give a cozy feeling. A bit pricey for imported beers but, still ok.

I was aim the outdoor view but was too full 🤷 shame, so I just stay indoor, has great view though. Nice foods and drinks I choose we're delicious (ps, choose a seat far away from music live if you want to have a good convos with your companion. Can't hear a thing cause music was too loud) love the place anyway

Came here on Tuesday night for my birthday party. Food tasted good but took forever to arrive. Waiter came back to inform sold out menus twice. Out of 5 steaks we ordered 3 came after more than half an hour and 2 more takes another 20 minutes. Medium steak served way too rare, had to send back and waited even more. Nice food but terrible service. For that price I expect pleasant dinner for my guests but I was embarrassed instead.

Food looked great when on bbq. Paid for big squid , got 1 squid skewer with 4 squid rings on it. Completely killed with sauce, rubbery , tasteless. Tako yaki were undercooked. Had to throw everything away.

It lost its glory days, the old times semawis is much better than the current semawis. The foods are becoming so mediocore and have less variations compared with recent bazaar and food stall, and it's not as festive unless it's near Chinese new year date. It does not feel special for locals , and for people from other town. The iconic food mostly gone , only modern foods. The seating is gettig very few. Place is still clean , even cleaner from the old times semawis.

I went there on saturday night, around 9pm, and the place was so crowded! There are lots of food stalls, some selling korean food. Only few stalls provide tables. Visitors are varied starting from teenagers to adults. The space is narrow and the place isnt clean because many buyers throw rubbish on the road. The food price is a bit high. For me, its not a kid friendly place. But if you love to taste kinds of food while walking and do not mind to queue, its a perfect place.

I love the crowd. I enjoyed everything. The bartenders (especially the petite lady named Mia) are very accommodating. They have a mix of English and Bahasa Playlist so it's just right. Had fun. And oh, the Korean garlic chicken is definitely delectable. PS. No photos allowed. Can't share pic. 😅

The crowd was good but I didn’t expected the cocktails as well as the other drinks that needs to take shots with some mix. Well maybe I am a drinker that love the alcohol too much but I couldn’t tasted the alco at all tho. It needs a lil more improvement as the tourist well expected for HW semarang so tourist from other cities or countries will be more satisfying to experience other HW in some cities. Me and my fam had experienced when we asked the waitress why is it the alcohol wasn’t tasted a bit stronger and they’re said it would be better to open the bottles instead of ordering the cocktails or other drinks. Meanwhile I thought I would be more interesting to experience a tasty drinks at HW’s place in other city but turns out I am a bit disappointed with the drink’s experience. I don’t mean to judge here but I’d love to share my experience and love to give an honest review for a good place that I’d love to came in other city which the place was in Jakarta as the HW was born. Definitely underrated. Went to Laroka after getting some drinks from the famous neighboring cafe, which was quite crowded when we left. We wanted to try some new atmosphere. There were much fewer people inside when we came in. Only 4 occupied tables I guess. They had live music until around 10 PM, then it changed into club-like as the night went by. Place was cozy, well designed, definitely a nice place to hangout. We were comfortably engaged in conversations during the DJ live play, didn't need much shouting. Couldn't say much about the food, since we only ordered fries. The drink prices was reasonable tho.

Went there in the mid night at 2, meet a bunch of people going home. When we step into the resto only few people remains. I really love their interior design. Very luxury and ellegant. Anyway i want to say something about your service. I feel the crew were not well trained and the place is not well maintained. Why would i say that? Because when i go to the toilet, many used toilet papers was scattered on the floor. And the red hand paint remains on the toilet door, while outside was already christmas vibe. Hmmm Another things is, i found out the chandelier above the ciggar stand was dropping water. Makes the floor very messy. When we inform the crew they seems to know it for a long time but didnt mean to fix it. Hope you guys will improve it in the future☺️

The atmosphere is good. The live music is good. The drinks and food are good. Service is good. The issue with this place is a 2 million minimum spend. The bar has not many stools and these are the only seats to sit if you don’t want to spend 2 million. Not everybody that wants to watch live music and dance drinks alcohol. It’s pretty difficult to consume 2 million worth of ice tea or mocktails. The business model is discriminatory against single or small groups of 2 or 3 and non drinkers as it requires an excessive fee to enjoy the venue. Even two people who drink alcohol on a night out will unlikely be able to consume 2 million in booze. So when a person attends the venue and the bar stools are taken there is no where for people to enjoy the venue without paying 2 million IDR. They close the tables upstairs so no options. It’s too bad a venue like this can not be more inclusive. There should be other reasonable options. 1 million is far more tolerable albeit still too much for a non alcohol drinker to consume. But yah I get it that the venue wants to make some money. But currently it excludes many people because of its business model. Unless you have four people that drink alcohol the venue is not worth the visit if there are no bar stools available. Honestly, this place has to do better for its customers. The more inclusive the more people that will come.
