La Guerrerense Carreta is a renowned taco and ceviche bar located in Ensenada, Mexico. The restaurant is known for its delicious seafood dishes and is owned by Sabina Bandera and Eduardo Oviedo. Additionally, they have recently opened Restaurante Sabina nearby, offering the same delightful seafood options. Another recommended spot for seafood enthusiasts is Muelle 3, a small eatery near the Malecon started by celebrity chefs Benito Molina and Solange Muris.
We had been once before and really enjoyed the seafood tostadas here. We were lucky to see the owner there and she was really wonderful and gave her recommendations and even took a picture with us. The seafood was super fresh and very delicious.
Joan L — Google review
The food was pretty good the options great too of the different types of seafood. The service was good too, the guy preparing was cool, cashier a little short with the friendliness. However the taste wasn’t worth the cost and quantity in my opinion. Glad I ate where one of my heroes ate at but that is where it ends. Once is enough.

Street vendor with a bunch of unique tostada such as ones with uni into the mix. Saw a video on this place by Anthony Bourdain, and it was close by the cruise port so it was a goal to try it out. The ceviche was my favorite! The shrimp was so plump and tasted so fresh. For a street vendor in Mexico, it seems kind of pricey, but I didn't have pesos so I was charged $40-$50 for 3 tostada, shrimp ceviche and two watermelon juices. Is that considered pricey. I'm not sure..... The portion sizes were decent.
Deanna L — Google review
There was a long waitlist (about 40min and we didn’t have the time for that as this was a few hour stop for our cruise). We were able to order to go and just ate outside. However when you do to go - they put everything on the side instead of inside the taco shell which was a little annoying since I was eating it right then. You can also get drinks to go. Strawberry marg 10/10 - they put taijin on the rim or something similar. Fish taco 8/10 Shrimp taco 10/10

6/22/25: Had the number 1 and 2 for 180mxn and a mixto tostada for 50mxn. The latter are a good value.

Famous little ceviche cart! The owner has won multiple awards and was given a shoutout by Anthony Bourdain himself.
Bobby A — Google review
We came here on a tour so I only was able to sample one tostada. It was a mixed seafood tostada, and was the best tostada I’ve ever had. Anthony Bourdain discovered this restaurant many years ago and was so enthusiastic about the owner that he sponsored her in a world taco competition which she won. After sampling one tostada now we know why. It is a must try experience in Ensenada.
Todd P — Google review
My friends and I visited this spot during our port day in Ensenada, and it was the highlight of our trip. We were craving mariscos and had heard rave reviews about this street cart. Let me tell you—it did not disappoint. In fact, it far exceeded our expectations, serving the best ceviche tostadas we’ve ever tasted. At just $9 per tostada, they were generously loaded with incredibly fresh seafood and bold, vibrant flavors. It was so fresh, we even watched the clams being shucked right in front of us! My husband and I tried the (#2) cebiche de erizo con almeja, (#4) campechana, and (#6) almeja con pata de mula, and every bite was perfection. The condiments were impressive too. They had an lineup of hot sauces ranging from mild to fiery, along with saltines that paired beautifully with the spice and acidity of the seafood. We would have happily ordered more, but we were pacing ourselves for a food tour around town. Even my friend, who typically doesn’t enjoy ceviche, rated it a 10/10.

Manzanilla is a must-visit restaurant in Ensenada Municipality, Mexico. It's renowned for its gourmet Mexican seafood, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The restaurant is part of the vibrant culinary scene in Baja California, which includes other notable dining establishments like Mision 19, Oryx, Tacos El Franc in Tijuana, and many more. Additionally, the region boasts an array of craft breweries such as Cerveceria Wendlandt.
This excursion was one of the best ones we’ve been on! It really was so educational and we learned a lot! The food was A+ and the chef was even better! She is a wonderful person to learn from and talk to. We first went on a small drive in Ensenada and our tour guide Angel gave us a great history lesson on the town and area he knew so much! We then stoped at the dock and he showed us the sailor memorial for the ones lost at sea. It was very special there! Then we went into the fish market and they picked out the best black cod! We went back to the restaurant which was gorgeous and learned how to break down a fish and turn it into sashimi! We got plenty of wine too along the way! We made a bowl of ceviche and then the sashimi tostada! If you’re looking for a laid back fun and tasty excursion this is it!

We came here on a tour, so we just had a small sample of what this restaurant has to offer. We had two tacos, one vegetarian and one cochinida pibil. The delicious vegetarian taco was our favorite and had wonderful flavors. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining and features a charming courtyard. All the staff were friendly and courteous.

I was just exploring the day I went to taste their seasoning, and was delighted with the special attention I received from the owner. She served me a half plate of heaven (I wasn’t ready for a full meal —and she suggested a half order; i and couldn’t refuse such an offer. I plain loved it! The good Ed delicious, to say the least! I will definitely be back! Oh, yeah—the crème brûlée was extra good!

This was our 3rd stop on a “taco tour” in Encenida. Everyone expected it to be the best, since it’s more upscale than the other places we visited. Quite mysterious vibe, in the middle of nowhere, without any signs. We were served two tacos… one was more of a cheese quesadilla. The tacos were fine, the beer cold. Tacos were served on fancy china. It was a quick stop.
Tatiana H — Google review
Hidden in the entry way of Ensenada, this little gem of a restaurant was such a great experience. I have never tried an oyster martini, but while in Mexico, why not? Amazingly tasty! A Salad and the fresh tuna was a great pairing. Next was the pork ribeye and the arroz Del Mar paired with a local white wine. The service was excellent and they shared the history of the restaurant. I will be back!!
Hilda E — Google review
This place has been in Ensenada for quite some time and it is very well known. I like that they keep changing the menu and bring in guest chefs to make you want to come back. The service really needs improvement though, we had to ask for drinks and the bill several times and sometimes they would just forget the drink order all together. The staff was really friendly and welcoming though. The food was excellent. The oysters and the lubina sashimi we’re both really fresh and tasty. The abalone tostada was so good we ordered it twice. It was just so tasty and the chipotle sauce complemented it perfectly. The chilaquiles were delicious and just the right amount of spicy. The lamb ribs and the pork were cooked and seasoned to perfection, they didn’t even need any sauce. The sides were all delicious as well. I was a bit let down at the end with the desserts, but most of my friends did enjoy them. I would definitely come back.

Delicious food in a quiet spot right next to port! Friendly & knowledgeable staff and a surprise appetizer! Would go again to try more dishes or get a nice quiet drink.

One of the freshest seafood places I’ve ever been to. The fish almost melted in your mouth. Place was a little hard to find as you have to pass a security guard on the port - so we thought we were in the wrong Location. Before you hit the 2nd guard parking is on the left last entrance before guard. Very casual atmosphere- my mojito was great. Fish of the day cook perfect. Tacos had great flavor. I’ll be back to get Tiradito de Pescado- absolutely amazing- ok 2 of them just for myself. Rice of the sea had great flavor. Well worth the visit- been wanting to visit for many years but skip to go to wine country. Don’t skip go.

Restaurant
La Cocedora De Langosta is a must-visit restaurant in Ensenada, known for its outstanding seafood cuisine. The Michelin Star-level experience offers a variety of delectable dishes such as shrimp and serrano ceviche, perfectly cooked lobster, fresh catch of the day sashimi, and grilled octopus. The restaurant's ambiance can get lively during peak hours but the delicious seafood makes it worth the occasional splurge.
The food at La Cocedora was amazing! Our local guide recommended this restaurant and it was spot on delish. I ordered the langosta (lobster) Puerto Nuevo style and it comes with rice and beans. My "medium" sized lobster was actually huge! It was cooked to perfection and was tender and juicy. I got garlic butter with it as well. Hubbs ordered the tuna and it was super fresh and it came in small cubes and braised on all sides. It was magnificent. This is the place to have excellent seafood. We spend around $85 for everything including three beers. I will definitely go back here again when possible. Salud!

We were in Ensenada on our cruise and found La Cocedora for lunch. The food was incredible! Fish was fresh and service was great. Chef/owner came even by to chat. Staff bilingual and didn’t even mind our terrible Spanish. Good kid options. Show them some love and get some great fish! Ps. The margs were strong and delicious too!!

Excellent lobster and amazing oysters! Incredible and unique combination of flavors all with a friendly, relaxed environment. If you're looking for a nice comfortable place to enjoy the best seafood in Ensenada... this is it!

We went to this place hoping we would find lobster puerto Nuevo style but definitely this is not it.you might as well just drive to puerto Nuevo . Honestly but what flavor can white rice bring to this dish ???…very disappointing

Owner was gracious- all of his recommendations were on point... this is now our favorite place to go eat..

UPDATE: Seriously, this is Michelin Star ⭐ level cuisine. After multiple visits over the years I've decided that this is an experience EVERYONE should experience. The shrimp and serrano ceviche was nuanced and delicate. It had cucumbers, freshly pickled red onions and vinaigrette The lobster is always perfectly cooked, and I think I'd just visit for the beans alone. -------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW: Outstanding staff, and the lobster is superb. Make sure to try the clam ceviche with mango and pickled onions. This was a special meal for us. When we asked the waiter if they had fish tacos, he graciously told us they didn't have it on the menu but he would gladly go grab some for us down the street with a local vendor. A+ will visit again.
Seven B — Google review
A pretty known spot in Ensenada for good sea food. Not sure, but maybe they where off this day. I would say the service is good. Very attentive and friendly. A friend and I wanted a whole fried fish. They didnt have any. But the waiter went out to the local fish market which is literally door steps away and got us 2 fish. Only issue was that the fish had no flavor. It was missing a lot. It was basically just fried and served like that. No salt, no pepper, just plain bland. My other friends ordered the lobster, he said it was good but not great. The agua chilies was very spicy, I think they used ghost peppers or habanero. Gave it a hard kick but still pretty good. Not sure if it was an off day for them, we went on a Monday. But I heard it could have been better, and I agree just add salt and pepper to the fish before frying. Oh the oysters Rockefeller were good.

To be honest it was not worth it it's over priced ! The only menu Item I loved was the fried fish , that was on point!!

La Concheria is a hidden gem in central Ensenada, offering fresh seafood from Baja's pristine waters at affordable prices. The restaurant is known for its incredibly fresh oysters with a variety of flavorful sauces, legendary abalone, and chef's signature fish skillets and seafood salads. The service is top-notch and the extensive wine list complements the dining experience perfectly.
Shared ceviche de pescado and enjoyed a glass of white. Absolutely recommend, so fresh, such delicious flavors. All in a cute, quiet setting. Will definitely be back.

Fenomenal place! Highly recommended if you want to try world class cuisine with local ingredients.
Ricardo R — Google review
Decent service. The food was really good and very fresh. They were also very accommodating letting us bring dessert from the ice cream place across from them. The oysters were very fresh and they had a variety of sauces to go with them. Both ceviches were good. Loved the Persian spin on the white fish and a classic take but with octopus, clams, and fish. Their spaghetti with abalone was great. Really simple pasta with butter but the abalone gives it that extra flavor that takes it from simply good to great.
Jose H — Google review
This is a super high quality and legitimate restaurant not too fancy on appearance because they care more about legitimate quality and customer care vs marketing (which is exactly what I look for). I would highly recommend this to anyone that wants a real deal ultra fresh and quality seafood experience. Their stuff does not come from mercado negro it comes from better than that. I had amazing abalone and local catch sea-bass-like dish. See photos for location because it’s not easy to locate (as most legit places usually are). My food and service was truly amazing.

Punta Morro is a stylish hotel with a seafood restaurant and bar, boasting a beautiful outdoor pool that offers stunning views of the bay. This modern casa sits along the Pacific Ocean, with its airy rooms exuding an upscale beach-house ambiance. The accommodations feature nautical striped rugs, cushions, and balconies for guests to enjoy the tranquil sounds of the ocean.
Great atmosphere, good service and outstanding food! Had the duck lasagna and it was spectacular, I will probably get the same plate next time. My brother had the swordfish plate and it was also outstanding. The views are also as spectacular as the food. The service is first rate. It was my mom's 86th birthday and they really took care of us. Definitely recommend it.
Roberto M — Google review
My wife, 6-year old daughter & I spent a long weekend here. Everything was fantastic! The location was flawless, everyone we encountered was kind & hospitable, and the restaurant was exceptional. We found that many of the staff spoke pretty decent English and were very forgiving with our limited Spanish. I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't leave San Diego for a weekend and come enjoy this beautiful location in Baja. P.S. If you're worried about "safety", there wasn't a single time we felt unsafe or uncomfortable, either on the hotel grounds, or in the surrounding areas of Ensenada.
Jason R — Google review
Let me start with the positive. It's a beautiful space ( exterior)Restaurant food and service are a solid 5-star. EXCELLENT. Now the rooms, are very outdated and need a lot of repairs. From the furniture to the doors. It doesn't match the exterior mid-century vibe. The screen door fell off, and the bathroom was a bit dingy also the carpet a bit gross. It definitely doesn't match $$$ we were charged.
Laura C — Google review
Guys I hate to write or say ill things about places that have great ratings all ready. But I need to be truthful. The reson I'm giving this place a 3 star and not a 5 is because of the service I received. The place a very, very elegant, beach view wonderful. The food was great, high quality. But the experience of the service was not there. The gentlemen whom serviced us was very dull, very dry, maybe he was just not having his best day. I feel bad about the whole thing because its not the cooks fault or the place or everyone else, it was just this unattractivenrss of our waiter. We didn't get asked, if our meal was okay, nor if we wanted anything else like others high end restaurants would do like "Villa Marina ". He didn't even ask if we wanted more to drink and we did, but never got the chance to because we didn't get asked. Sadly that is what happened. So, I would say come and check it out for yourselves and see if your experience would be better then mine. God bless everyone.

Best kept secret in Ensenada! The rooms are wonderful with an amazing view! The pool was great with lots of space for everyone to enjoy it! The staff at the front desk, the bar, the restaurant, and housekeeping are top-notch. I wish I could find this level of service in the US. The bar staff made sure that I had everything that I needed for my day at the pool. I ate at the restaurant twice during my stay and the food was very up scale! The ocean view from the restaurant was breathtaking!! This will definitely be a place that I visit several times in the future!!!
Dave R — Google review
I have to say, this is an amazing location with a fantastic restaurant — definitely a highlight of our stay. That said, there's significant room for improvement in service and operations. When we arrived at the gate, the guard didn’t greet us properly or ask if we were guests. Instead of directing us to the restaurant or hotel, he just let us in without notifying the front desk. By the time we parked and got out (carrying two bags each), there was no welcome, no guidance, and the front desk had no idea we were arriving. With only 20 rooms in the entire property, you'd expect a more personalized experience. The front desk should at least be aware of who is checking in that day — especially when there were only two new reservations. The check-in process took 15 minutes, and it wasn’t until much later that the bellboy helped us with our bags — after they’d already been sitting there. The room itself was beautifully decorated, but unfortunately had some downsides: a strange odor, mosquitoes inside, a very loud and hard-to-use AC, and a TV that didn’t work. Another issue: I asked if we could have coffee sent to our room in the morning — we had a wedding to attend and limited time for breakfast. I was surprised to hear they don’t offer in-room coffee service, even at an extra charge. Breakfast doesn’t begin until 8 AM, which is not convenient for early schedules. At $280 USD per night, I expected better service and more attention to detail. With more thoughtful management and better guest experience, this place could easily become a world-class wellness destination. Right now, though, it feels like a missed opportunity. The restaurant, on the other hand, was outstanding. The food was excellent, albeit pricey — but you're also paying for the beautiful setting. Still, it was the best part of the stay. If you're looking for a peaceful night's sleep, this place might be one of the better options in the area — other hotels nearby are noisy. But be prepared for some service hiccups that don't quite match the high-end pricing.
Jonathan A — Google review
Got a really nice massage and facial, was very satisfied with the spa service but was under the impression we could use the sauna and pool after our $500 massage. They unfortunately declined our request to use the pool where we wanted to order food etc. We only came because we were under the impression we could do both.
Nick L — Google review
Stayed here for a week and a half around the Baja 1000 with the rest of the team. Super nice place, kept very clean. Pool and hot tub are well attended to. Only issue we had was putting the do-not-disturb sign on the door, yet still had someone come into our room to clean. That was interesting until we realized we had left out some cash in a couple areas and that was gone. Lesson there to lock everything up.

Tacos El Yaqui is a popular spot in Rosarito, known for its wood-grilled carne asada tacos served on flour tortillas with cheese, beans, salsa, cilantro, onions, and guacamole. The establishment has gained recognition from #TasteAtlas as one of the best taco places in the world.
This restaurant has had a crazy evolution in the past 20 years. I went here for the first time in 2004 when I was just 14 years old and these tacos have stuck with me my whole life. I have never been able to find a perrone or taco of this quality, not even in AZ. Let me be clear. These tacos are the best in the world and you will never find an equal. (Cope Americans). If you're in the Rosarito area or even in Baja California Norte, I would recommend visiting Yaquis every day.
Christian P — Google review
There’s a lot of local hype about this place. I’ll say that the food quality lived up to the expectation, but the service is lacking. They have a method to maintain a long line of people waiting. The preparation area moves very slow to maintain a steady line, giving the illusion that they are overly popular. The truth is there is ample seating available, the long line and wait time is due to the staff intentionally moving slow. I can’t say that I’ll wait in line for 45 minutes again for what I’d say is just good, not overly great or fantastic food. I’d stop by again if there’s no wait, but if I see a line like I did today, I’d rather go elsewhere. Kind of a let down.

Classic arrachera tacos (flap meat)🥩 place is in a great centralized location and the atmosphere is usually very lively, yet mello. Food is incredible and the staff is great: friendly, attentive and guaranteed to make your experience memorable.

They do one thing and they do it RIGHT: carne asada. Tacos El Yaqui has the recipe down and has some of the best tacos I've ever had in my life. Is the wait long? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. The staff is friendly too, we even made a friend with the wonderful gentleman behind the grill. The tacos are pretty loaded, so I'd recommend 2. But 3's a party.
Lovepreet A — Google review
Love the open air concept of the restaurant. Everything from their meat to their salsas is great. Simple menu (Perron, sencillo o quesadilla) that’s it! Long line but it moves fairly quickly.
Nathyely M — Google review
Everything was great from the tortilla to the grilled meat and specially the beans inside the taco!
Brenda C — Google review
This place is consistently good and a must stop. Everyone tries to copy but there is only one Yaqui Taco. Sometimes there is a wait cuz the lines can get long. The staff works fast to get the tacos out to each customer. Don’t want a long wait, even though it’s worth it, pick the right time to show up. Ever disappoints. Great food great staff.
Karen P — Google review
Limited menu but what they offer is very tasty/flavorful tacos. Service is fast; lots of tables. Not a fancy place. Open-Air Grilling done right by the tables; so, the aroma is intense and activates your desire for Carne Asada Tacos!

Muelle 3 is considered one of the best restaurants in Ensenada, Mexico, offering a delightful experience to diners. The restaurant treats guests to dishes like mussels, fish risotto, battered calamari, and the traditional ceviche. Its location by the marina provides a rewarding experience as visitors can admire the boats, listen to the nearby ocean waves, and witness stunning sunset reflections on the water. Muelle 3 is known for its high-quality seafood and prime waterfront setting.
Look no further, grab your seafood at Muelle 3. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and absolutely delicious. The servers were nice, accommodating, and professional. We were stuffed but wished we could eat more. Highly recommended everyone to eat here. Thank you Muelle 3 for the amazing meal!

Oh my goodness! Visited Ensenada on our cruise 🚢…ended up 2 days in Ensenada due to hurricane so we got off the boat and walked down the marina past all the heckler restaurants and found this quaint gem of a restaurant The food was amazing and with drinks the bill was only $132 usd Sits at the top 5 meals I have ever ate! Service was spectacular as well

I’ve visited the place 3 days ago. Definitely one of the best (if not the best) seafood I have tried in Ensenada. Great wine, excellent service and really relaxed atmosphere! Highly recommended!

I had previously tried to go here because it was ranked #1 on TripAdvisor but unfit tú Arely it was closed. I’m glad I couldn’t go that time because I didn’t know that it is HIGHLY recommended to have a reservation. They have limited seating and are usually booked up. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We were a group of 8 so I got to try quite a few dishes. Each one very impressive and unique. They rely on the quality of the fish a lot and it really comes through, they also have some sauces which complement each dish perfectly. The burritos stood out for me specially. Highly recommend this place for good local cuisine.

The setting is right in front of the docks and very nice. I can tell this is a super popular place and once we were seated it took about an hour to be served. They were also out of fish which I had ordered but changed to garlic shrimp with pasta. The food was amazing

An amazing small restaurant. Great atmosphere and wonderful service. The food is outstanding and the selection of wines small but perfect. See the catch of day and the beautiful risotto. Parking it’s just right there. A culinary jewel in Ensenada. The clam chowder was delicious too!

Nestled beneath the shade of an oak tree in the stunning Valle de Guadalupe, Animalón is a culinary gem that showcases the artistry of acclaimed Chef Javier Plascencia and Executive Chef Oscar Torres. This restaurant stands out for its commitment to sustainability and its innovative take on contemporary Mexican cuisine, drawing inspiration from diverse regions across Mexico. The dining experience at Animalón is thoughtfully curated to engage all your senses, making it a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts exploring Baja California's vibrant gastronomic scene.
Incredible ambiance! Eating an 8 course meal inside a hundred year old oak tree in the middle of a farm and a vineyard. Each plate was carefully prepared and presented. All local and fresh ingredients, nothing frozen. Local wines and beers. Flavors were impactful and delicious. Service was excellent and attentive. Very rustic surroundings, but elegant meal. Price was a fraction of what it would cost in the US. Especially for the quality ingredients. Highly recommended! Be sure to pick up a bottle of the award winning local wines. Look at the menu for a description of courses.

We had an Amazing experience just under the Animalon. I could not imagine we were under/inside the tree having a superb dining experience. Yes, this is a high end, fine dining experience, which is somewhat mind blowing when considering how you got to the place (have to go to understand). Upon our arrival, the host was attentive and led us to our table. The night was somewhat on the cool side so we were immediately offered blankets. That taken care of, we proceeded to order cocktails as we were wined out from early in the day. The 6-8 course menu was just spectacular. Every course was carefully crafted and explained and all the flavors were there. It was an explosion of different sensations and experiences with every new plate. The traditional Mexican cuisine was incorporated with the mole and a version of the tamal, but the rest of the dinner open my mind to new possibilities with the Mexican cuisine, one that caters to local areas were the chefs exploit those ingredients to create new experiences. While the portions may be tasting style, if you are not sharing the food will be enough to satisfy you. I want to stress that this is not a traditional Mexican restaurant and if you are looking for the comfort food that we all love (taco🌮) this is not the place. Service was over the top with our server taking. Are of all our needs. Overall a great experience and a place to visit.

I think it’s definitely an experience to have, some of the dishes like the tamale inside the clam and the duck were INSANE! Delicious and fantastic presentation. Mario was our server and he was PERFECT! Super attentive, kind and funny. The dinning area are beautifully located under a tremendous tree that is over 100 years old. The open kitchen layout and the tools they use are super impressive. The bread was also delicious! It’s a preset menu and it’s over $200 per person once you include drinks and tip. They do change the menu seasonly. Only reason for the 4 stars was that I didn’t love every dish particularly the desert and the price is a bit high compared to other great options in the area. But this is definitely an excellent experience and will be back. Great place for a date if you want to impress them.
Juancarlos S — Google review
The food is absolutely great! Even though it was 9 courses, it was more like 11 with some snacks before. I loved the lobster dish, and the wine pairing was really good. It would have been an amazing experience, but unfortunately, it wasn't under the tree due to the season, and the place was very cold even with the fireplace on. I felt they could have put more attention to the decor, but the main complaint really was the size of the dishes. Especially one of the mains was just one thin slice of duck. There was sauce left over, which I would have loved to dip into at least a second or third piece. I left the place kinda hungry, and considering that they dou led the prices since the last time I went, I felt it basically overpriced. It's probably one of the best places one can go in Valle, but I feel they got a little ahead of themselves.

10 out of 10 dining experience! From the hostess, to the space, to the music, to the servers, to food, cocktails and dessert…top notch. Every dish we ate was exceptional. S/o to Brian and the rest of the crew. Money well spent!

“I honestly didn’t know that food could taste this good.” That statement from my husband, who is not easy to please when it comes to food, absolutely nails the experience at Animalón. From the minute you walk in and are escorted under a huge, beautiful, old oak tree to your table, you know that you are in for an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Their seasonal and locally sourced tasting menu perfectly combined the most surprising and delicious foods into a three hour adventure of delight. Stand outs were the mesquite smoked blue fin tuna, duck lettuce wrap and house made breads with charcuterie. Animalón did not miss a single step, from atmosphere to food to the friendliness of every one of the impressive waitstaff. If I could give them 10 out of 5 stars I would. Thank you for making this an anniversary to remember (and for finding my silly husband’s wedding ring!!)

A cozy dinner with friends under the warmly lit oak tree was absolutely magical. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which really enhances the experience. Mexican restaurant
Mamá Espinoza Restaurante is a must-visit spot with a cool setting that used to be one of the first Baja 1000 check points in the 60s. The restaurant has an interesting history, as it started with only lobster and tortillas on the menu. Now, it's known for its delicious food, including fish tacos and Mexican combination plates. The place is filled with Baja 1000 memorabilia, making it a unique dining experience.
Love this place. Very friendly to moto riders and pets! Make sure you stop here when you're in the area! WLFamily

The food is not that great. Lets face it: we all come here for the atmosphere! The place is decorated beautifully and sure it has a ton of history. Maybe years ago it lived to its hype, but nowadays it just seems like a tourist trap. The prices are way too expensive, you are paying for "what once was" and not what it is today. Definitely come here once for the experience, but there are way better places around.

Fantastic service! The walls are full of Baja Racing History. I had the fish tacos. They weren't my favorite. The chips and salsa were decent.
Troy P — Google review
We ate at underwhelming Mama Espinoza, appeared to be a very famous stop for racers/motorbikes. The service was awkward, the food was meh but they did have a little gift shop, parking and toilets. They were cash only so we had to scramble for cash-back at the Pemex next store. Sigh, can’t win 'em all! Note, the Chilaquiles Italiano is chilaquiles with pepperoni and should be avoided.

We have eaten here twice in the past month. Great food & beverages. Very reasonable prices and friendly service. A very short walk from Baja Cactus.

Mama's is a MUST stop when you're in the area. Had fish tacos at 8:30 am and they were the absolute best. Fresh ingredients and fish was fried perfectly. The restaurant has a really cool setting as it was one of the first Baja 1000 check points in the 60s. When opened, Mama had only lobster and tortillas to serve her customers. The restaurant has made a name for itself for sure. Tons of Baja 1000 memorabilia to look at. We met Mama's grandson who speaks very good English and shared a ton of Baja spots to check out. He even marked them on a map for us! We will be stopping in again on our way back north to try their famous lobster burritos! Cannot wait.

Colectivo Surf Tasting Room is a delightful spot that offers more than just drinks; it's also an excellent choice for breakfast and brunch. This charming venue doubles as an ice cream parlor and coffee shop, boasting a wide selection of Italian gelatos and sorbets that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. While the food is generally good, be prepared for some delays in service, though the staff's friendliness makes up for it.
Great local spot for amazing beers and views of the Baja coast. We only had drinks so I can speak on the food but the beer selection was great. Some of the better beers I’ve tried in Baja and I’m a beer snob. They recommended a selection of IPA’s that I thoroughly enjoyed. They had some reggae music playing which added to the beach vibes. Service was great and everyone was friendly. They have free restrooms on site. They have indoor and outdoor rooftop seating including a stage which I assume they have people play on when the weather is right. So glad to have this a stroll next to Sabor Casero for the night cap. We will definitely be back

The positive,... Delicious food, great service, cool atmosphere. The only thing is that it's not exactly off the paid road and you will need to drive a little on the free road. The food though is amazingly fresh and tasty. Craft beer as fantastic especially given the fact Mexico is pilsner heavy! It really doesn't get any better!

Amazing local fish and great staff! Just a quick walk from where we were staying at Las Gaviotas. Came here on a Saturday night and there was live music outside on the back deck (heat lamps too). Had a poke bowl with local yellowtail. Great beer and local kombucha. Staff was attentive and kind!

I just absolutely love this place. As a vegan, missing sushi has been a challenge. I really really miss it. Lol. This place gives me back my sushi. They have a few things on the menu; a vegan menu & all of it is worth it. The service is hit or miss, although he sure to ask for Sergio. He is the head bar manager & is always making sure that tables are taken care of. As long as your intention is to go there to relax & enjoy as the food & drinks come out, you are set. I went with several friends that ordered off the regular menu & WOW. It looked & they said it tasted amazing. They even use white ginger & have. Sriracha along with some other wonderful hot sauces. Portions are nice size, especially if you order the tacos. Omg it’s even bigger than what I’m used too. Lol. They also have one of the best views in the area & a massive outdoor space for live music on the weekends. Love you guys! See you soon!

Sometimes the rice isn't ready if you arrive when they open. The food is good, the service can be slow but they are very friendly. The Poke bowl was really good and the kids love the fish poppers. The chefs special roll is also very good. We ordered a total of 5 rolls and they were all different which is fun. So this was a review I forgot to post on a previous trip..haha, Back today 11/23. The service is still very slow but the Chef's Special is still awesome. Just be patient and enjoy the view. The sushi is so fresh and beautifully made. They also serve liquor now and the spicy margarita is really good.

I love this place. The sushi is delicious (I absolutely love the spicy yellowtail and spicy tuna rolls). The shrimp tacos are so good. The guacamole appetizer is a mountain of guac. Great drinks. The flan is a must. Often has live music, especially on Friday or Saturday nights. I’ve heard others say the burgers and sandwiches are good too.

Our expectations were exceeded by this delicious meal. The staff were super friendly and attentive, the food was outstanding and the ambiance was great. We got the yellow tail tarido, omakase roll, and special tacos. We didn’t think the sushi style dishes would be that good, but they were outstanding. There was a solo act on guitar playing and they were really good too. Highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in the area.

It was crazy busy! The line was only about 7 people in front of us and the line moved very slow! It took us about an hour to get through the line! Each side of the food cart does something different! One does ceviche, one does tostadas etc… we got the tostada special large and also the seafood sampler. It came to about $25 USD for both plates. It was super fresh and a ton of food!!! We were only 2 people and couldn’t even eat all of it!!!! The only thing I disliked is there was no where to sit and eat!!!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in Ensenada, look no further than Boules. This charming eatery has become a favorite among locals and travelers alike, thanks to its inviting outdoor patio adorned with twinkling lights and lush trees. The menu is a culinary adventure featuring mouthwatering dishes like seafood queso fundido, crab ravioli, and unique offerings such as bone marrow.
One of my favorite restaurants in Ensenada. The atmosphere is trendy and everyone is dressed to impress. Love how the layout is built around large magnolia trees which are a part of the inside decor. We had the rib eye and portobello risotto, both excellent. Perfect place for a romantic evening, a night out with friends, or for any type of celebration.

If you don’t read Spanish you will have a tough time ordering exactly what you want. Their menu is only online and only in Spanish so one can’t use a translator app to translate it. It is an outdoor restaurant so dress for it. They serve only two wines (one red & one white). You can get on the next door wine shop and order from them if you want a bottle. Slightly above average food for one who Dines often. There was a pesky dog begging at our table. Their ribeye was good the rest of the items were just okay. After I posted this we (the four of us) decided to go elsewhere to get some more food at another restaurant.

This is a really nice spot. Came here for dinner with my gf and had a really nice evening together. The food was very flavorful. The music playing was on point and not annoying. The only thing I would add is adding a nice pond with lilipads and fish and turtles down on the lower level. The designer did a nice job of building the space around the multiple live trees.

Dining at Boules with my family was a highlight of our vacation in Mexico, a cherished memory that we will carry with us. In conclusion, Boules stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, a place where every detail is a brushstroke in a larger masterpiece. You walk in and you go up to the food counter to order.  I ordered the Marlin Taco, Fish Taco, Tuna Burrito and Consume.  It was a TON of food, I really really liked the Fish Taco tho.  On the side of the ordering counter you have a salsa bar.  I put the Chipotle sauce but it was super super spicy for me and I put way too much.  I really liked the Tuna burrito though.  After eating there is a cashier who collects the payment based on everything you ate. Overall it was a great start to the day but we ate way too much food, I was stuffed afterwards.

Casa Marcelo, located in central Ensenada, is a popular restaurant owned by Marcelo Castro, a fourth-generation cheesemaker known for his Ramonetti cheeses produced in the nearby Valle de Ojos Negros. The welcoming facade adorned with bougainvillea leads to a dining area set in a courtyard shaded by wood slats and lush trees. This local favorite is renowned for its breakfast menu featuring artisanal cheese from the ranch used to garnish signature dishes like chilaquiles.
It was our place for breakfast for 2days stay in Ensenada. The place is amazing and the food is excellent. The experience this place offers is hard to describe, just try it! Muy delicioso! 😙🤌

This place has been rated by Michelin as Bib Gourmand for a reason. Very good food at reasonable prices. Excellent dishes with their twist. We had the casuelita en salsa verde and the platos Marcelo. Both were great options. They start you off with some bread and their signature cheese on the house accompanied by a salsa matcha with what I think is Chipotle. All very good. The customer service was excellent and the place is very near, within walking distance of the main strip in Ensenada.

Wow! Fresh, delicious, upscale food at affordable prices. We had the chilaquiles con barbacoa and the mushroom risotto. Both fabulous. The atmosphere inside the tree covered patio is relaxing, tranquil. Service was attentive and helpful. One of our favorite places to dine in Ensenada so far. Highly recommend!
Kelly F — Google review
I was really looking forward to trying Casa Marcelo, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations for a Michelin Guide restaurant. We were originally told there would be a 20-minute wait, which ended up being closer to 35 minutes. Once seated, the service was disappointingly slow—our server never checked on us after bringing the food, and when we finished our meal, we had to track them down. It then took another 15 minutes just to receive the bill. As for the food, it was underwhelming overall. I ordered the machaca, which had very little meat and was mostly tomatoes. On a brighter note, others in my group ordered the chilaquiles, which were much better. Between the lackluster service and uneven food quality, the experience just didn’t live up to the hype.

Great location, casual western rustic atmosphere and decor, excellent food and service. I arrived with a friend for lunch a bit early before the crowd so we our choice of seating. I loved the decor with antiques, and the western theme. There was background music (ballads and love songs) but it was light enough we could converse without a struggle. The menu has Mexican antojitos, steaks (cuts like ribeye, filet mignon, ribs, etc.) as well as chicken, and salads. The prices were reasonable. They offered a full bar as well as iced tea, sodas and aguas frescas. They have a breakfast menu, and their lunch-dinner menu. On Wednesdays they offer a buffet that sounds great. They had a private parking lot. It would be appropriate for meeting friends, family, business lunches and small groups. Everything looked clean and orderly. I'd definitely return.

Excelent service and great authentic Mexican food. The waiters are very helpful and there is a lady making hand made tortillas. I recommend the buffet on Saturday mornings. They have a good variety of desserts too. I highly recommend this place, it has a great atmosphere!

Beautiful Restaurant! Our waiter Hilario was very nice & efficient! I ordered the Combo plate with ONE Chile Relleno, ONE Enchilada, ONE Carne Asada Steak piece, White Rice, Beans & Home made Flour/Corn Tortillas made fresh by Soledad! She makes them and brings them to you. She is a very nice person as well. It was delicious!! My husband ordered the (3) Steak Burritos. For drinks we had a Regular Margarita, a Cadillac Margarita & a Lemonade. They were delicious! We also ordered a side of Guacamole to go with our chips & salsa. It was made perfect (no cilantro in it) We'll definitely be back!

We ordered the 3-person meal with an extra ribeye steak. The T-bone was good and tender. The ribeye steaks were very hard to eat. The baked potato was good. The place was a bit pricey for hard ribeye steak

Planta Baja Restaurant - Sky Bar offers a chic and modern dining experience that is perfect for special occasions. With its beautifully designed outdoor seating, guests can enjoy stunning ocean views while savoring delicious meals. Although the tables are somewhat close together, creating a cozy atmosphere, the overall vibe remains enjoyable. The attentive staff adds to the experience, ensuring that every guest feels valued and well taken care of.
My husband and I stopped here on the back to the border because this place came up as vegan friendly on my search. We called ahead and were told it was ok to bring our 2 dogs and to double check they had vegan options. Everything checked out when we got there and our dogs had a blast! The restaurant was a little empty, but it was a Tuesday afternoon at 2pm, so makes sense. We had the whole place to ourselves! And the views are gorgeous, we dined on the outside patio Food- we were really happy with the vegan options, even some of the vegetarian dishes can be made vegan because they have vegan butter and vegan cheese! I had the “Sope Pimiento Tatemado, Frijol, Queso, Mancha Manteles” (In English: Corn Sope, Grilled Peppers, Beans, Cheese, Mancha Manteles Sauce). I’ve never had it before, but it was really interesting, new flavor profile for me. I also ordered the tortilla soup (Veganized), and small salad—- both delish. My husband had the risotto and loved it. I tasted something fishy in the risotto, but I am very sensitive to the taste since I’ve never eaten fish. My husband couldn’t taste anything fishy though. They also gave us these cute complimentary bread rolls with vegan butter, they were so good I ordered some to go. We really liked this place, we were thinking of coming back and hosting a party here with friends!

The only thing that surpasses the ocean views and sounds of the crashing waves is the amazing food! Husband’s steak cooked to a juicy perfection, my vegetarian pasta filled with veggies and my son’s fish battered with a fantastic crunchy fresh batter. Service was outstanding and we felt welcome as a family with a young child. Super friendly and laid back atmosphere! Everyone should try it at least once!

This place is phenomenal. We ordered the mushroom risotto, the tortilla soup and the fresh pasta. Everything was wonderful, and this spot also has full ocean views. Service was amazing, flavors well developed, SO MANY FANTASTIC vegetarian options and amazing wines. People speak English which makes it easier to communicate. We will be back!

Planta in Ensenada is an absolute gem. The view and atmosphere are stunning—perfect for a relaxed, elevated dining experience. The food is truly exceptional. My husband and I have tried risotto all over, and the shrimp risotto here was hands-down the best we’ve ever had. Service was excellent, and parking was easy, which is always a bonus. As someone who eats gluten-free, I really appreciated that many menu items were clearly marked, and there were plenty of options for vegetarians and pescatarians too. One more thing we loved: the dog-friendly outdoor seating. Our pup was welcomed with a bowl of water, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommend!
Alexandra C — Google review
I'd give this place 4.5 out of 5 stars. We were here on an afternoon couples date. We arrived just after opening so it was still pretty quiet. The view is romantic and breathtaking; the setting and vibe are perfect for a date. The staff were really kind and attentive, and we really appreciated that they were dog-friendly (leashed of course) and they brought him a water bowl. We had drinks, an appetizer and entrees. I want to be clear the food was definitely good, but we agreed we felt each of the dishes was missing....something, but we couldn't put our finger on what it was. The guys ordered steaks and they did say the cuts that day were on the fattier side. I remember thinking my sangria wasn't as sweet as anticipated. I don't need things overly sweet but maybe my American tastebuds are conditioned to require ridiculous amounts of sugar. We still had a wonderful time and would definitely go back again, we'd like to try more of the dishes to see if maybe they were having a slightly off-day or maybe find their specialty dishes.

We had a awesome experience and really enjoyed the scenery. The food was so delicious and full of flavors. The staff was always attentive and made us feel like royalty. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.

This place is exquisite. Situated directly on the Ocean in Ensenada Mexico. We were going to grab a drink after leaving a brewery just a few blocks down the street. We were the only people in the establishment. Please take note that this is over July 4th weekend & Mexico shut the border of Ensenada and surrounding cities to ensure it was not overcrowded with people who don’t reside there. I think that was a good idea. It was interesting. The law states that if we wanted to have something to drinks we had to order food. We had just finished a delicious meal & weren’t hungry, so fries it was. Lol. It was worth it. Keep in mind that if you want another drink you are required to order more food. I believe our servers names was Jorge. I apologize if I’m wrong. He was so kind, so nice, & so friendly & informative. We had some questions regarding the closures & he asked his Manager about it (it was where he had originally learned about them from the beginning. The menu I will say looked spectacular. Unfortunately as someone who does not eat meat or fish, there were only a few options on the menu. The entire menu looked tasty delicious & the few vegan/vegetarian options would be worth coming back for. It was currently closed due to COVID-19 however they have a Sky Bar on the rooftop which I can only imagine how gorgeous that view must be. ***Lastly, please be mindful that these are weird times in this world we live in. As we are all trying hard to get back to what is the new normal, remember that if don’t want to follow the rules of any establishment (whether a restaurant grocery store, gas station, etcetera) you deffo do not have too; just remember they also don’t have to serve you in any capacity that they don’t want. Love you all.

During the 1920s, Casa Magnolia Restaurante was constructed and shipped pre-assembled to its current location in the United States by Mr. Juan Abackumoff. This establishment is situated in Ensenada, a city where it has become a local favorite due to its exceptional service and cuisine. The restaurant offers delicious food at surprisingly affordable prices, with patrons paying just around $10 per plate for their meals.
Went out there on a Friday night. Had dinner with the hubby. The atmosphere was great. There was a section with live music. We chose the quieter side but was happy to see everyone having a great time. Service was excellent, our food delicious. Highly recommend 👌🏼

This was the second time coming here. First time having dinner. Everyone was super nice and attentive. We had the scallop carpaccio, Tacos with Bone Marrow, and the Parillada for 4. Everyone was delicious. There is plenty of parking and has a great bar to hang out in. I definitely recommend. We will be back.

The place is nice. The customer service was nice 👍. We were serviced accordingly while waiting for our food. Our food took a long time to get served. My wife's was correct. She liked it. Mine and my son's was the same. It was not served as requested. The steak was not served with the eggs. When the kitchen served the steaks, my son was done with his plate. I was already upset. Plates aren't cheap at this place. The place was not crowded. No reason to be careless. Disappointed. Lastly, the steak was chicloso.

It was that good. I will be coming back. It was wonderful Oh wait the food. Oh Gosh. I got the chiliquiles and they were , don't tell no one, but they were almost as good as my mom's. They served us little pans. These cute little soapes. The coffee was top notch. It was all around ahhmazing! If you don't go here you are missing out

Nestled in the heart of Ensenada, Mercado Negro is a vibrant fish market that serves as a culinary hub for seafood lovers. This bustling locale not only offers an array of fresh catches but also features charming family-friendly boardwalks where you can find colorful hammocks and handcrafted wooden trinkets. For those seeking the ultimate ceviche experience, just a short stroll away lies La Guerrerense, renowned for its delectable offerings and beloved by food enthusiasts.

Mercado Negro offers delicious, authentic local seafood, and the quality of the food is undeniable. However, the experience was dampened by the constant barrage of food vendors aggressively trying to get us into their establishments. While I understand the competition, it became overwhelming and, at times, unpleasant. If you’re looking for great seafood and don’t mind the persistent sales pitches, it’s worth a visit—but be prepared for the pressure.

Ensenada is a fishing city and this is the heart of the fishing industry in the city. Vendor after vendor with wonderful fresh fish and seafood. Everyone is very helpful and it is a must see when visiting the Ensenada area.
Todd P — Google review
This is a tourist attraction rather than a traditional seafood market used by locals. There aren't many fish inside, and the vendors inside don't seem very interested in selling. Instead, the nearby restaurant staff are more enthusiastic about drawing in customers, offering seafood processing services. We didn't eat here because it felt strange—there were hardly any people except tourists, so it didn't feel like an authentic local experience. Overall, this city gives off a vibe of being very tourist-oriented, with high prices on generic items and everyone trying hard to attract customers to their own shops. It just feels odd and lacks the authentic atmosphere you'd expect from a place frequented by locals.

When exploring the vibrant culinary scene of Ensenada, one cannot overlook "Sabina Restaurante por La Guerrerense." I was so disappointed and heart broken. I do not doubt that this restaurant was at one point magnificent. Our legendary Bourdain spoke highly. Unfortunately this restaurant is not the same place I read about in magazines nor the same place I saw in documentaries. From the "shrimp ceviche " that was actually a pico de gallo with only but the smell of shrimp, and not a hint of lime. To the overly mayo saturated fish taco. Everything was an ocean of depression in my palette that I could only water down with a stew of mint called a mojito. I will give this restaurant a second chance, as I always do and they well deserve. I must say, however, their octopus taco mixed with their amazing mango salsa was juicy, soft and just 100% terrific. I do not have anything negative to say about the experience with the staff who were nothing but wonderful.

Hussong’s Cantina, established in 1892, is a historic cantina bar located near Papas & Beer in Baja California. It's known as the birthplace of the margarita and offers an authentic Mexican pub experience with its noisy and crowded atmosphere. The cantina is housed in a historic stage-coach inn and features live bands on most nights, creating a lively environment where visitors and locals come together to enjoy music, singing, dancing, and toasting.
As a margarita enthusiast, I couldn’t pass up the chance to check out this spot! When we arrived, it was relatively quiet, but it didn’t stay that way for long. The place quickly filled up with lively visitors, and once the mariachi band started performing, it was a party! We kicked things off with margaritas, and though the glasses seemed small, they packed a serious punch! Strong but incredibly tasty, they were some of the best I’ve had. Despite the growing crowd, our server made sure we were never without drinks, keeping us well-supplied with margaritas, beer, and even a few rounds of shots. The prices were super reasonable, and the overall vibe was fantastic. Definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for great drinks and a fun time!

Fast food restaurant
El Güero Ens 1981 is a seafood restaurant located in the coastal town of Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. It serves up fresh and delicious seafood dishes at very reasonable prices. The waiters are skilled and will quickly prepare ceviche, seafood cocktails, and other dishes made from ultra-fresh Baja yellowtail, clams, shrimp, and oysters. The restaurant is simple but clean with a casual atmosphere that makes it perfect for a relaxed meal with friends.
El Güero seafood cart has some of the best seafood you’ll find in this area. We ordered the Especial Tostada (grande - large) which has a mixture of seafood such as shrimp, scallops, octopus, etc. They have a mini size available for a lesser price. On average the tostadas range from 150 pesos to 250 (which is about $8 to $13 depending on the peso to the dollar). Parking is somewhat difficult to find along those streets because it is a main tourist area, and many of those businesses have designated parking. We paid 100 pesos to park near the seafood cart. Keep in mind that they do not provide tables or chairs for guests. So, you’ll have to stand to eat your food. Definitely worth it!

Sophia C — Google review
Fish tacos not good no more. I was disappointed/surprised when I was served my fish taco, it was like a fake piece of fish, like a imitation piece covered with lots of batter. It was not enjoyable at all and hard to chew. I did not eat it after tasting that first bite, I threw it away and paid and left. I think they serve their imitation fish to the tourists. It had a smaller piece of batter to make it look big. ...it was just Fried batter. Mexicans get the real thing, not the tourists. Avoid this place. I went to Taco's Don Zefe. This has real fish tacos. And more. Sorry ladies, but the truth hurts your reputation. Stop treating tourists by serving us cheap imitation fish. Stop adding so much batter. YUK! Bad experience and you will do nada to improve it. So I'm telling everyone.

The service is outstanding and the ambiance is beautiful. The food is good but not great. The first night we ate here I had the red snapper filet which was good, but not as flavorful as I expected. Last night I had the rib eye steak which was tender, juicy and tasted good. I expected to taste cuisine that would be memorable, but came away slightly disappointed.

We hosted a group of 25 BFGoodrich Tires dealers during the Baja 1000 and had an incredible experience working with the El Cielo team. They were very responsive, flexible and accommodating to our large group's needs. They set up a beautiful private dining experience and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Amazing!!!!!!! They ran out of Tomahawk Steaks, but I'll forgive them. 🤷🏽‍♂️ I ordered the paella and when it arrived at the table it was BLACK!!! I was taken aback. I just knew I made a mistake. I tasted it. The only mistake I made was prejudging it. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!😋😋 Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Perfection.

Nestled in the picturesque Guadalupe Valley, Finca Altozano is a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant, led by renowned chef Javier Plascencia, offers a casual yet stylish atmosphere where guests can savor delectable dishes cooked over a wood-fire grill. From grilled octopus to lamb birria, the menu boasts an array of flavorful options that showcase the best of Mexican grill and fresh Baja California cuisine.
Wonderful service and wonderful food! It was well worth the visit. I've wanted to eat here for years and was able to finally dine here for a late lunch. We came here with our awesome tour company, Baja Wine & Dine, so the dishes were all selected in advance. Every dish was delicious. So many good vegetarian options too but my favorite was the moist tender chicken with roasted potatoes and the crispy skin stuckling pig. I've read a few reviewers complain about the dogs roaming around. The dogs do not bother or beg from the diners. They walked around the tables and never went under them. There were about 4-5 when we were there and they were all respectfully friendly. I was surprised at first to see dogs there but soon got used to them. The diners are discouraged to feed them.

Must love dogs, like really really really really really love dogs. Your table with be coated with dog hair, yes that includes all drinks, dishware and beyond. Feel free to pet the dogs (strays?) that roam around the property. Otherwise food was good for what we had. Great spot for a sunset, possibly skip the dog hair and take your drink to go to enjoy the sunset. Also, reservations for 2 don't get you prime view table, be ready for quick a disappointment, those are taken up by large party reservations. Aside from those details, this spot is great. Enjoy. 😉.

Great restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. Hostess up front was very kind and spoke good English. Our server didn't speak any English, but we got by, and he sent over another server with good English in between to make sure everything is OK. Some main dishes were not available, which reduced our options (vegetarian) [-0.5 stars] The food was good (but nothing out of this world) and the wait was decent. Yes, there are dogs, we all know now. No, there isn't dog hair everywhere and no, the dogs actually don't beg for food. They stare at you for a second and then move on. But some servers do pet the dogs in between and then touch glasses and plates, that part wasn't the greatest to see [-0.5 stars]. Walking around the property afterward was super charming.

Very loud environment, particularly on the weekends. Lots of “cowgirl tourists” showing their specially acquired “Valley” boots. Food ok, much better available elsewhere in the area. Fish and meat quite expensive, Margaritas had an odd herby color added to it, had to ask for a classic one to be served one without the pink. Will not recommend, unless you want to have a Disney-type experience

Very over price for very ok food. Super salty octopus and it looks completely different to the photos on Google. Fried oysters are very average.

If you're seeking a laid-back yet exquisite dining experience, Deckmans is the perfect spot to indulge your culinary cravings. This charming eatery offers a delightful cookout atmosphere rather than a formal Michelin setting, all under the guidance of renowned chef Drew Deckman. The menu features local ingredients with an international twist, showcasing dishes like roasted quail and succulent pork belly cooked over carob wood.
This restaurant completely elevated my perception of Mexico and its wine region. Nestled in the rolling hills of Valle Gualupe, it has a rustic charm that is surprisingly elegant and matched with equally elegant dishes and a beautiful local beverage list. This restaurant has a green michelin star, a star for standard of food and additional green for sustainability. More than 80% of their produce and beverages are sourced from local farms, and I was first impressed by their wine list. I had one of the most elegant viogniers from a winery 1.5 hours drive from the restaurant - a bright, dry and elegant wine with strong notes of green apple and hay, very interesting for a viognier. The restaurant ambience was one of the loveliest I have been in for a long time. Our table overlooks the vineyard and the sunset (which lasted 2 hours) and the light on the food and the interior was just stunning. We were first served with an amuse bouche of local flowers filled with pea and avocado cream - so light and delicate. The oysters and homemade bread rolls were presented nicely and very tasty. We had the local kanpachi crudo which was served in a tangy sauce and fresh zucchini - again a very delicate and bright dish. The blood clams came in a ceviche form in a green chilli sauce, bold and spicy yet restrained. My favorite dish of the night were the local mussels in tomato broth - the mussels fat, sweet and perfectly cooked within a smoky tomato broth that we spent soaking up with their woodfire sourdough bread. Definitely the best meal of the trip, and may come back just for this restaurant.

We were excited to celebrate my husband’s 40th at this Michelin Star restaurant in Valle, especially with a party of 12 where each couple was spending upwards of $150 for their meals. Unfortunately, the evening fell dramatically short of expectations. We arrived around 6:00 PM and were seated by 6:15. Water and bread were brought out, but the bread was incredibly stale and set a poor tone for a premium dining experience. We had brought a bottle and opened it for sharing around 6:50 PM, yet we were not offered other beverages upon our arrival as one would typically expect. The first course of oysters and ceviche arrived around 7:10 PM, and then nearly an hour passed with no sign of the next course. By 8:30 PM (about 2.5 hours in), we had only two courses and our own wine bottle, with no water refills or additional drinks offered despite the long wait. When a member of our party raised concerns, the waiter’s response was indifferent and unhelpful, with no proactive effort to fix the situation or reassure us. The main chef appeared to not present that night, which may explain some inconsistency, but staff still needed to communicate delays and manage expectations. The third and fourth courses, plus an extra side of quails we ordered upon arrival, finally arrived after the 2.5-hour mark. The quail was fine, but the roasted seabass was overly salty and the accompanying vegetables were hard, not fork tender—basically inedible as a side. The mussels in the fourth course were great, but they did not redeem the sequence. The overall pacing, service attitude, and dish execution did not reflect the standards one expects from a Michelin Star restaurant, especially for a special occasion. As we were leaving, staff appeared to mock our dinner party and our complaints, which was deeply disrespectful and embarrassing for a group of guests. This conduct, combined with the delays and inconsistent kitchen management, left us feeling not just disappointed but disrespected. Notes: This restaurant recently opened a second location near our Northpark neighborhood in San Diego. It’s a shame they chose to expand before fixing the service issues at the original establishment, to ensure things are truly impeccable before inviting more guests to the believe in the brand. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and uses it to refine timing, communication, and consistency so future guests can actually enjoy the promise of what they offer.

Great place to see sunset with the grape 🍇 vines. If you are a meat lover is a good place to come and eat. Service is ok like any other regular restaurant nothing exceptional about it. If you want to spend money on the food tasting and wine there are definitely other better options in the area example fauna same prices but the food and the attention to details there is incredible.

Make reservations. We ordered family style. The food was absolutely amazing, the prices were affordable. The ambiance and vibe on point. We sat where it was a bit from the sun 🌞make sure you ask for the court to be dropped . And I wish they had fans to cool you off and to shoo away the flies that were attracted by the food . But other than that my family loved it.

My first time trying a Michelin star restaurant and I was a bit disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere were ok. We ordered oysters, the 2 I tried both had bits of shell which got stuck in my teeth. Some menu items were permitted if you were doing a tasting but could not to be ordered for dinner. The medium rare steak was surprisingly tough. My thoughts are, I would recommend sous vide or reverse sear before grilling but those are not the thoughts that should run through my mind while attempting to enjoy a Michelin star restaurant. The steak tartare, heavy on the mustard. A side salad came along with the steak, wilted and tasted like mustard. The DD tinto wine was great. I think that might have been my favorite part. I would not rush to another Michelin star restaurant any time soon. There are plenty of great restaurants in the Valle.

Dining at the restaurant offers a remarkable experience, especially with its lovely outdoor setting. The picturesque view of the vineyards enhances the ambiance, creating a truly memorable atmosphere. The quality of the food was truly exceptional, showcasing culinary expertise. Furthermore, the service provided was impeccable, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal.

Me and my wife went to celebrate our anniversary, I read the reviews and postings from the web, the place is nice, outdoors, open, and the service is good, but the food we ordered was not what I expected. We ordered the ribeye steak medium rare, I had this dish at other more inexpensive restaurants and the meat was soft and juicy, however what I got here was juicy but not soft, it was rubbery, I ended up leaving almost half the plate, as most of it was fat, I was not pleased. I told the server about the problem and he said he will let the chef know. After 5 minutes he came back and apologized saying I was right, and gave us a dessert for the inconvenience, however, the $80 dish we still had to pay. Very bad experience for a Michelin star rated restaurant 😕 Hope anybody reading this will speak up as soon as something like this happens, so you don't get charged.

Celebrated my wife's and her best friend's bdays here and it was an incredible experience. The presentation of each dish was amazingly detailed and delicious. The establishment offers an exceptional experience. Upon arrival, the security personnel and parking attendants were both polite and attentive. The hostess provided excellent customer service, and despite the lack of a reservation, we were promptly accommodated. The garden area is particularly noteworthy. We extend our gratitude to Christopher for his drink recommendations and for informing us of the recently updated menu. We plan to return and highly recommend this establishment.

We had an absolutely magical and memorable dining experience at this hip, modern restaurant in the valley. The property is stunning, with beautiful paths and gardens that offer great views, complemented by fantastic cocktails. The food was not only creative and beautifully presented, but also delicious. The meat was tender, and the wine was rich and sophisticated, making every dish a delight, especially the octopus, which was the highlight of our week-long trip. The staff, including the chef and the owner, provided exemplary service that made us feel like royalty. Their attentive and helpful approach enhanced our meals without ever being intrusive. Nestled at the end of a rugged dirt road in the picturesque Valle de Guadalupe, La Cocina de Doña Esthela has long been cherished by locals and is now gaining fame beyond its humble beginnings. This beloved breakfast spot has captured hearts since its feature on Rick Stein's BBC show, showcasing traditional Sinaloan dishes that are simply irresistible.
If you want a very authentic Mexican breakfast come to this place. Expect some wait (15 minutes to an hour). Can’t get here without GPS as it is in the middle of nowhere but locals do. Full of locals and super busy. They serve a mean wonderful breakfast. It is a must visit. We came here yesterday and we are back again!

I can understand why La Cocina de Doña Estela in Valle de Guadalupe has earned its Michelin star. I only ordered the potato soup, but I was blown away by the depth and richness of the broth. The flavors not only brought me back to my childhood, they went beyond that. My friend ordered the nopales with egg, something you could easily make at home, but tasting it here, from the land it originates from, just hits differently. The portions are generous, which can be dangerous because you’ll want to keep eating. The pan dulce was also incredible. We took some back to enjoy with coffee the next morning. I’m normally not a big breakfast person (just coffee for me) but this place makes me want to return and try every single one of their specialty dishes

This place has been talked about every time you google breakfast places in the Valle de Guadalupe. Of course I had to try it! Went with a group of friends (4 total) a little before 9am. And it was already getting pretty busy. We were seated right away; and had requested outdoor seating. Inside felt very packed for us and needed that extra quiet feeling. Outside was perfect! We went right before the weather started getting warmer. The waiter brought over queso fresco and chips. The cheese felt very fresh! And could be from the farm they have onsite with cows. Our food was all delicious! Will go back and try another dish.

Definitely not worth the wait. Menu is mostly breakfast items which unfortunately I’m allergic to milk, eggs and pork. So fair to say very limited choices. The wait is ridiculous for what you are getting. I’ve heard people wait up to 4-5 hours. According to one of the workers an hour wait is like no wait. The road to get to the place is bad. I recommend going with good tires and suspension. I think the food may have been great before all the hype.Yes, it’s delicious because it’s not processed and more like our mom or grandma’s cooking. I cook in the same fashion so it was nothing extraordinary for me or my partner. I personally will not be making the drive again. But as always give it a try it may or may not be for you. FYI: There are three roads that will take you to the restaurant according to one of the workers. There is one we took going in which was the worst one. Lots of potholes and not paved. The one we used to exit was actually not bad at all when comparing the two. The second one was flat and only had a few potholes. There is parking inside and outside of the facility. Go with lots of patience, not hungry or take a snack and drink if you go after they open. Or you could buy yourself a drink from the coffee stand and snacks from one of other stands. Also Dona Esthela may be available to meet and greet her customers.

Boy what is there to say about this celebrity joint. Anthony Bourdain, Chef Ramsey, and many other have come to this place. They are all over social media. And yes its as good as they say it is. The very slow well seasoned lamb, the beef machaca, the homemade tortillas "flower and corn" is do die for. I'm not a fan of just to eat lamb but this one is definitely superb and one of a kind. Don't for get awesome corn pancakes and the café dw olla. Its worth driving the 20min drive from Ensenada in Valle de Guadalupe. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Feed your food souls and God bless, its a must.

Prepare for at least an hour’s wait on the weekend but totally worth it. Delicious, traditional Mexican home cooking. I’ve been twice now. The specials - borrego tatemado and the corn pancakes are must haves.

Solid breakfast spot. We went with the machaca and elote pancakes. It really does have the feel of a large family breakfast set up. The beans were great, the elote pancakes were good but very dense and chewy, which definitely is a different concept of how I see pancakes. The machaca was tasty but it wasn’t something I would likely order again. The fresh cheese with the salsa and chips however was excellent. I think the concept of an elote pancake is awesome though! Next time, I would like to try the chilaquiles. The orange juice was tasty. Tasted fresh squeezed and was told made in house, which I believe. Come EARLY. Sunday morning brunch crowd filing in after their minor wine hangover is a real thing. We got there at 815 and had no problem finding a table and ordering but it looks like after that, it starts ramping up.

The rustic yet inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a leisurely breakfast or lunch.
It is a total splurge dining experience! The (fixed) menu is ever-changing and the descriptions don’t remotely do justice to the dishes. Everything is unexpected, interesting and a party of flavors. Cocktails (my Negroni) were delicious. The menu wine pairings were good mates but were on the small-pour side (1 Oz) We left plenty full from the meal, and chef kindly accommodated a special request. Very pleasant service and zen like atmosphere.

I was hoping for...more. First, the service was the highlight. Friendly, accommodating, and attentive. The ambiance was nice, with a large stone fireplace and overall farmhouse vibe. We were the only diners there but it was a Thursday evening, so I suppose that was it. That said, felt lonely. The food...feel sad to say this but meh. We got the 5 course tasting menu. There was no printed menu of the dishes so pardon the simple descriptions; this is all I can remember. The first course was vegetables on a puree of white beans and fennel. EXCELLENT. 2) Fried rabbit on a mayonnaise sauce. OK, putting something fried in mayonnaise without any acid is just too rich on rich. 3) Fish in a puttanesca sauce. Now, I don't like puttanesca, so there's that, BUT my fish wasn't cooked properly. Not seared and rare in the middle, but just undercooked. 4) Chicken in a sauce I can't remember. SUPER juicy and perfectly cooked but the seasoning and sauce...big meh from me. 5) Oy. I really didn't like this one. Lemon verbena flan in a honey-like sauce with fresh cherries. The cherries were lovely but otherwise...sugar on sugar on sugar. Yikes. Don't make this again...ever. Start over. Overall, felt overpriced for the quality of the food. Would skip this one.

This is the best meal I’ve ever eaten. The care and love that went into each dish, service, and wine selection was perfect. Best natural wine I’ve ever tasted. Striped bass tartar was the best dish I’ve ever eaten. This place lives up to the hype. And quite the bargain compared to tasting menus north of the border, especially given the quality. Simply superb. Not much more can be said. To be fair, we were the only ones in the restaurant for the entire meal, so we had lots of attention. Highly recommend visiting the garden—the source of all produce ingredients. We will be back as frequently as possible.

The service was decent. We had the tasting menu with wine selection. The wines were not impressive and the portions were really small for the price. The food wasn’t great or filling. The fish had a weird strawberry sauce that didn’t go well. The dumplings were cold and undercooked we even sent them back and it did not make much of a difference. The fish dish was also a bit cold and the dessert was bland.

One of our first post pandemic ventures to an indoor restaurant. We were here for the first time 3 years ago and they change management , we were curious to see if it was still good. Well, it is. It was Wednesday evening and we had all the restaurant for ourselves. We started with really good cocktails, they have a fixed seasonal menu of five courses, everything was really good but the seabass on strawberry tepache is outstanding that could be in any 3 Michelin star restaurant. The service was amazing and we had a nice chat with chef Jesus. Laja still feels like old valle. Long live to Laja

Chef Diego and his staff were AMAZING! We were there for Sunday brunch and each course awoke a new taste:bud. Eating straight from the earth that we walked upon and smelled as you can see from the pictures was an experience all on its own. The setting is stunning, the service impeccable and the food amazing! 5 stars for both as I don't believe in rating a restaurant with combined scores but separate. Make a reservation and go ... Romantic restaurant run by the Villa de la Valle group (and adjacent to the Inn) perfect for a quiet dinner. Adventurous menu great for foodies. It’s a fixed menu and was nicely curated with a variety of flavors. Especially loved the crispy pork lechon , fresh tomato salad, grilled sea bass. All the sauces were fantastic! Wines were pricy and we would have liked liked more wine. But loved the Beautiful view and experience on this our second visit.

This restaurant is a pure joke. I put 1 star as there is no negative star rating on this! They only have a fixed menu which they charge $80 per person for. While only some of the dishes present interesting flavors, the portion are ridiculously tiny, not consistent between the three of us. The first course of a 6 course menu: 1 FREEKING RADISH WITH NO TASTE WHATSOEVER! You can judge the other course with the pictures, Very big plates with decor like that you are not sure what is food and what's not making it much bigger than the real portion and... YES THE 3 RIDICULOUS SWORDFISH TOAST ARE FOR 3 PERSONS!!!! AND... ...The lamb was dry like hell, the radish had no interest whatsoever, the smoke swordfish was extremely fishy... It is clear that the chef and the owner do not understand food quality and consistency and overcharge tourist for a set menu that does not deserve anything but a D- This restaurant would open anywhere in the USA, in two weeks it would be closed! Thank you the hype of Guadalupe Valley and locals that advise to go to this restaurant but never eat themselves there, paid commissions work!

The food is good, I liked that they changed some dishes for me since I didn't eat meat. The price is maybe a little too much for what you get. The place is comfortable and nice but it is pretty far away from everything. The road is dusty and dark. Overall I was maybe expecting more for a restaurant ranked at the Pellegrino's list.

**AVOID THIS PLACE... NOT WORTH YOUR TROUBLE My experience left me wanting... The place was really nicely decorated. The food was good, but not close to what they charge for it. Furthermore, I would suggest that they make a bit more effort in client orientation. We had two people from my party that found stones in their risotto. This is extremely unfortunate for such a high end restaurant. But even more, when no one from the kitchen or the staff did anything about it. That is the type of response you would expect only in a fonda. Overall, I was extremely disappointed and I think the place is not worth what they charge for it.

Very disappointed! Was really excited until I was through the 3rd course. The wine was served from pre opened bottles with small pours. Each portion of food served was ridiculously small. I kept waiting for a course to be served that would actually take more than two bites. One serving was a corn tortilla with some greens. The desert was actually one spoon full of ice cream and some kind of green syrup. Sorry, but I don’t get this hyped up place. $250.00 for two to eat sub par food. We actually had to go eat dinner after this experience . Will not be back.

Guests can enjoy an amazing culinary journey with local and fusion dishes that elevate flavors and presentation. The beautiful architecture and exceptional food make it a must-visit destination. However, some guests found the service to be overly attentive, while others mentioned challenges with the dirt road leading to the restaurant.
I had the pleasure of dining at Fauna, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is simply incredible. The vibe is laid-back yet sophisticated, making it the ideal spot for any occasion. The food steals the show. Each dish was an absolute delight, bursting with flavors, and everything we tried was nothing short of outstanding. From the first bite to the last, I was thoroughly impressed. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made sure our group of 7 had everything we needed without being intrusive. Their service was top-notch, and it only added to the overall amazing experience. Fauna is a gem – amazing food, great vibes, and exceptional service. I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly special dining experience.

Excellent restaurant in all sense. The food was amazing, each dish was authentic and original. Everything, from the quinoa salad to the guava churro tasted great. The waitress and staff were very friendly ant all times. Then there's the fact of sharing the table. Eventho my mom and I weren't thrilled about that, we ended un having an amazing experience, people kind of become more open while eating so we had a great conversation with people we met there. Amazing place and experience.

Maybe one of my most favorite culinary experiences I have had in some time. Reserving ahead of time made checking in no problem but make sure you have one. You have the option of taking photos in the front of the restaurant’s fountain and then you are seated. If you’re looking for a private place to spend with your partner, this is not it but if you are looking to engage with people in a playful and curious way while enjoying excellent food, then this is it! We split a two appetizers (small and large) and a main dish. This was perfect for us. The ceviche was perhaps the most flavorful and robust ceviches I have tried. Had smoky elements with a tang and freshness, even the chip was light and crisp, good flavor. The sopes were the least the favorite, just missed the mark a bit. the lamb quesadillas were tasty and the tortillas were made fresh. The cheese had a salty, organic flavor to it that really made the combination of all of them together just shine! The wines we tried were a sparkling white and rose and each were great, but the sparkling white probably gets the nod. Just give this place a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

Corona del Valle is a hidden gem located in Valle de Guadalupe. The facility offers a beautiful setting with a kids' playground and live music on Sundays, making it suitable for everyone. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings and delicious food, such as charcuterie boards with an abundance of cheese. The wines are highly praised despite being young-tasting. The winery provides a posh and polished atmosphere with well-thought-out wine variations.
Our experience was truly delightful, from the stunning views to the exceptional wine. The food was equally delicious, and we even had the chance to ride bikes through the vineyards, an unforgettable highlight of our visit!

This winery was recommended by a friend, It was very nice and in an attractive area. The wines were quite to my tasts and they surroundings are very attractive, there's a huge restaurant and a sort of a party bar as well as the outside tables, It's laid out very well. Some of their $20 wines sell in the Napa Valley for over a hundred dollars.

Wine and food were good, staff was very attentive and friendly, and the activities and atmosphere of the place are amazing! The gardens are beautiful, clean bathrooms, & so much space. The highlight for me was riding on the free bikes though the vineyard at sunset. My 18 month old was just barely old enough to enjoy a few parts of the playground (more for older kiddos). Very kid friendly winery and restaurant! Highly recommend!
Marina P — Google review
My party had a lovely time here around sunset. We got a table right away, the staff was friendly, and the wine was delicious. We also had some shared plates. Next time we'll come earlier and ride the bikes which looked like a lot of fun.

The food here is absolutely delicious. The place is big and has two dining sections an inside one and the outside one. I’ve been in both sections and definitely recommend outside just because of the view. The place has bicycles which you can use for free (if you dine at the restaurant) in their vineyards, totally a must!

We visited in the low season and were the only people at the restaurant during dinner (7pm). The staff were very attentive and friendly, they also gave great recommendations on the food and wine. We did feel a little bad that they didn’t have much work. The food was delicious, we weren’t too hungry so shared a few starters and the wine was also really tasty.

I really enjoyed the wine tasting my brother and I had at Corona del Valle—it was one of my favorite wineries we visited in Valle de Guadalupe. We had the mid-level tasting and all four wines were really nice. The variation and arrangement of the four wines were also quite thoughtful. This is certainly a very posh and polished winery. The atmosphere, the aesthetic, and the foliage are all harmonious and really well designed and plotted. I really liked the vegetation and plant choices they made for their garden that surrounds their restaurant and tasting areas. I’d love to come back sometime and try out the restaurant!
Christopher G — Google review
The wines are fair. The Irish coffee was the best! They had nice ambiance music. Our hostess was super friendly. The deserts were probably the best part. We order food to go and they forgot to include the side of bread we paid for. If your there until late at night make sure to tell them to open the gate (they close it late at night) we had to wait a bit before they opened the gate.

This seafood restaurant is a great option for budget-minded diners in Ensenada. With tons of options at a very reasonable price, it's a perfect spot to enjoy some fresh seafood. The restaurant has outdoor seating and is wheelchair accessible.
Came here as friend suggested the lobster dishes. It did not disappoint as food was delicious. The location was not far from the cruise drop off point either. Great place.

The food was great but the service was horrible!!! We ordered the abalone. Never had it before. Wow!! Crazy delicious!! Definitely recommend....but..... The waitress was awful!!! The service was extremely slowwwww. She wasn't friendly AT ALL. Never checked on us. We asked for more chips and salsa but never got them. Had to literally find her to pay our bill. The restaurant itself was nice, with lots of customers, fun, live music. I would return because the food was incredible, but I'd definitely hope for a different server!!!

This is my 2nd time visiting Bahia Seafood in Ensenada. I loved the lobster plate. This time around I ordered calamar empanisado. The plate came rice and a salad. My son ordered the green aguachile and he loved it. We didn’t like the small seafood cocktail. It needed more flavor. Dishes range from 200-500 pesos. You will pay more for other orders. They have a small selection for the kids menu such as breaded shrimp or breaded chicken fingers.

James D — Google review
(first visit—see dinner edit)My mind was set on breakfast but upon my friend’s recommendation we stopped here not telling me of the lack of such. What a pleasant surprise it was for me to discover this beautiful place. I consoled myself with having a taco de Camarón and one de Atún Ahumado, both with cheese, to at least taste their food—these were two of the best tasting three tacos I have ever eaten—, while my friend ate a plate of garlic shrimp which looked delicious, and rather plentiful, which he’s had in past visits, and was proud of that dish, as well as the place in general. He stated always bringing visitors there in the past. I definitely will insist on bringing a friend of mine soon since she’s partial to seafood. The service was fine. I asked the bartender if they served Zacapa rum but they didn’t. Later, as I intended to tell a manager of the benefit of stocking this great rum and clarify that the 23 year one was the way to go. I was impressed when he stated having overheard the earlier conversation and showed me a note reminding himself he had written about ordering some. I most definitely will return with my friend Mari. Besides recommending this place, judging from the taste of both items I did enjoy, and my friend’s statements, I feel comfortable recommending just about anything the chef puts out…EDIT: I returned, as intended, the following week and to my utmost surprise the bartender pulled up a bottle of Zacapa rum as I asked him if by any chance…. Well! He even remembered me and mentioned that Rene had ordered it in fact because of my suggestion—I was floored! We did order the pescado sarandeado, being the purpose of the visit. Our server, Brian, was extremely attentive to details, even though the place was packed, and the dinner was incredibly tasty. Finally found the entree we sought for weeks which was fabulous in itself. The Zacapa rum serving at the end made me very pleased. This restaurant was added to my list of frequent visits to come. Enjoy!

Restaurante Pancracia is a culinary gem that offers an unforgettable dining experience, showcasing impressive high-tech architecture that makes it a visual delight. The menu features standout dishes like the shrimp pappardelle and mouthwatering ribs tacos, though some diners may find the shrimp shells a bit cumbersome to deal with. The chilaquiles are another tasty option that's light yet satisfying. While the service is friendly and attentive, be prepared for slightly higher prices and an automatic service fee added to your bill.
Really nice place excellent food and service, is also a mezcal house, is a 3 stories building

Unique setting and architecture-worth a stop just for the pictures. We had the chilaquiles which were tasty and not too heavy. Only a few wines were available by the glass but the bianco from Magoni was good. Really cool rooftop lounge that would be great for sundowners. Overall, nice experience

Where would I start? We went with a group of 12 on Saturday, the restaurant was half empty and we were seated in the ground floor. The food took more than a hour to get to the table and some of the dishes were cold. Yes, cold. We ask for some desserts to share, I took a bite of the merengue and I found a screw in my mouth, a SCREW!!! Unbelievable. I read that this place has good reviews so I want to think that we had really bad luck

This place looked cool. It was completely empty when we got there. The service started good but then got really slow. The ceviche was not edible. The fish tasted not fresh. I always eat my food and this was not edible. The waiter let us order WAY too much food for our size table. The drinks were mediocre. Overall it was not the spectacular experience I hear so much about VDG offering at other places.

Wonderful food. Had the shrimp pepperdelle. Very good except the very delicious large shrimps were annoyingly not shelled and diners are forced to wrestle with the food in order to take the shells off. I will not order this dish again for that reason. Wait staff was responsive and friendly. Food was slightly pricey, but worth it. Interesting and impressive high-tech architecture. However, the restaurant is not elderly or handicap friendly, with lots of stairs and no railings to hang on to.

Located at km 108 on Mexico 1 highway near the Coral Hotel & Marina in Ensenada, Sano's Steak House is a popular dining spot owned by the Hussong family. The restaurant offers a mix of upscale and affordable casual dining with a varied menu and local wines and craft brews. The Mission-style architecture, formal white-tablecloth service, and hearty entrees give it an old-school feel.
One of the best steaks ive had! Delicious garlic sauce and garlic mushrooms🤤 highly recommended. Romantic outside patio.

Everything in the menu is really goof here, my only one complain would be the portion size, steak portion is too small (personal opinion) really good but small. If you’re all about protein intake and all of that make sure you order at least a good appetizer otherwise you’ll be hungry haha. But I do recommend this place, customer service is great.

Always 10/10. Service is also always great. You have to get the blue cheese tower salad. It’s a classic. The filet mignon is always perfect and the cheesecake dessert is to die for

Crema de Almeja y Crema de Almeja bread bowl was excellent. The Ostiones were mediocre. The Sashimi de Atún, Ceviche de Callo y Camarón, y Lobina were way too salty. Not able to eat, inedible. Was going to complain, but was afraid you would not understand English or misunderstand or misinterpret. Extremely disappointed. The Corazón de Filete Mignon was very good, but also a little salty. It appears the chef likes salt in everything. Even the arroz that came with the Lobina was too salty and I could not eat it. I hope I can be compensated somehow for paying for an expensive meal that was horrible.
Calvin L — Google review
I’m not sure if it’s fair to rate the food as my comparable experience in other premium steakhouses is in the Los Angeles area. I must say, though that the menu is extensive and there’s a lot of excellent selections. In terms of food, I feel that there’s a little bit too much sauces in the food. That’s just a personal preference my biggest pet peeve that I hate when I order a rare steak and they brought me out a medium at best. Now if you were a steakhouse, you better get this request right immediately. In most cases I would send the steak back, but I was in Mexico and maybe Mexicans did not eat rare steak? My plate was about $50 so it wasn’t cheap in Mexican standards and I would say that although steak was a decent cut, I would place an almost at a diner/corporate restaurant level rather than an actual steakhouse. And I was disappointed for the main course. The atún sashimi appetizer had way too many onions and capers and sauce, which took away from the fresh taste of the sashimi. Again, I’m using Los Angeles standards versus Baja standards. As a comparable, I would say that it’s an excellent steakhouse for the Ensenada area. As far as service, I must say that they were on point and made up for the subpar meal experience. It was absolutely excellent, our waiter and the team were very attentive. The dining room was OK, a little clustered and our neighbors decided to hire the five piece roving musicians which didn’t allow for more of a private one to one experience with my wife since they were pretty loud. Again, this is Mexico, but if I wanted to hang out next to a five piece live band while I’m eating, I’d go to another restaurant on the tourist strip. The outside patio area, which is named something different seen more lively. Would I come here again? yes. Would I order the same things? Most likely but I definitely would be more in tune with the menu on how the steak is prepared and giving them directions to not add so much sauce.

The place atmosphere is great , waitres is nice He was doing a great job until we find out. The menu was away from us and he put in a plate cost me $100 dollars another plate also cost me more than $100. I don’t recommend this place just because they put on the menu for an American person. There is no such ever by mistake and cost me $100 dollars. it’s only 1 pound . Be careful from this place.

This is an amazing location. We arrived late last night. We were received with open arms and a glass of wine - and truth be told the wine was delicious. A quick change in shift left us with another amazing young man who jumped right in, showed us to our room, and quickly confirmed the massage booked for the next morning. The experience overall was amazing. Breakfast there was also a wonderful experience.

Vianey R — Google review
The setting here is beautiful the hacienda-style architecture and view really make for a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. The staff is also very kind and welcoming. That said, the food is clearly geared more toward the American palate, and unfortunately, it falls short in flavor and authenticity. We ended up here because we didn’t want to wait an hour at Doña Estela, but ironically still waited nearly an hour only to be served bland chilaquiles. Three of us ordered them and none of us finished our plates. Even the coffee missed the mark I asked for an Americano and was served basic filtered coffee. We asked for salsa to try and boost the flavor, but it didn’t really help much. This was my second time eating here, and both visits left me disappointed. If you're coming for the views or staying at the hotel, it might be worth a visit for the ambiance. But if you’re looking for standout food in Valle, there are definitely better options nearby.

Really delightful breakfast at the restaurant. La combinación de hacienda was truly delicious and the arrachera to die for. I loved my green juice and the pan dulce as well. The true highlights are the stunning grounds, views of the valley and service provided by the delightful Alicia. She is truly passionate about the valley and providing an exceptional experience. It was because of this we wound up spending the whole day here and hope to enjoy an overnight stay and a wine tasting next time we return. Thank you for a delicious meal, tranquil afternoon and great local recommendations. There are lots of great places in the valley, but I'd consider this an absolute 'must stop', especially for breakfast. See you soon!

Great views, good service, comfortable lounge seating, hip chill vibe, live music. Ordered just cocktails and cheese plate. For a Friday late afternoon, I was expecting it to be more lively but it was a nice relaxed time. They brought out blankets once it got chilly which was wonderful! Only negatives were the cheeses from the cheese plate looked and tasted like they had gone bad. Then, the servers tend to “hover” and not give you much privacy. 4 not 5 stars because of the food.

Place has a good concept but way overpriced! The portions are so small for the price you pay . If you don’t make a reservation to seat on the top, you end it up seating inside with no one. Not worth going . I wish restaurants in Ensenada would offer more for less to attract more tourists . The prices are the same as the US and you get way less food . The roads leading to the restaurant were horrible . Potholes everywhere . I feel like if they are going to charge US prices they need to have better roads too . Not worth the drive there. Really disappointed ! We ordered a steak , crab tacos (very small with a bowl of not eatable beans), risotto and quesadillas .

Here's the revised review with grammar corrections and expanded slightly for length and detail: We had a fantastic time at this restaurant. We chose it for two main reasons. First, few places were open on Monday night near our hotel, and second, it boasted excellent reviews. We were not disappointed with our decision. Since it was a Monday, the restaurant was pleasantly uncrowded, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. Our waiter, Aaron, was exceptionally attentive. He warmly greeted us as we approached the restaurant and consistently checked on us throughout our meal, ensuring we had everything we needed. The ambiance was inviting, with a clean and spacious interior. The music was lively and set a great mood, loud enough to enjoy but not so overwhelming that it hindered conversation. We ordered the carne asada, which came with an enchilada. I don’t eat dairy, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, seamlessly substituting the enchilada without any issue. We also shared a bowl of birria, and the flavor was nothing short of extraordinary—rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. The quality of the food, paired with the excellent service, made this a memorable dining experience. We’d happily return on our next visit!

My order of adovada tacos was cool tortillas was cool and dried the meat was cool and thick just nasty basically. Someone else other Enchiladas she was enjoying them until she took a bite and bit a piece of something nasty the manager came and said it was a piece of meat but it didn't look like meat at all so she stopped eating them manager didn't even offer to take out the plate of the bill. The rest of the food Salmon was amazing we had ordered 2 orders of it and they loved it the grilled octopus 🐙 was also really good.

OMG octopus was exultant, Scallops, Soup, oysters...WOW. In US there are very few places where Chef knows how to cook real seafood. Also they speak good English.... I probably going on the cruse ship again to just go to this place....

The food was excellent, the menu had many items to choose from. We went there just as the Sun was setting. Loved watching the neon lights come on on the surrounding buildings. Enjoyed the cocktails. I would like to go back and try more of their seafood selections. We have been eating a lot of seafood lately. After all it is Ensenada. Great location to get the night started.

Fantastic Marlin in peppers appetizer, but everything on menu is good. Street under construction in front now, so you can't park in front till that's done, but well worth a 200 foot walk to get to
Greg Y — Google review
One of my favorite restaurants in Ensenada. I have pretty much everything in the menu but you must have the pulpo a la vinagreta and also the octopus that’s listed as a specialty. Great fish tacos, ceviche tostadas and pretty much everything in the menu is just delicious. Is also very affordable, they have great service and they have live musicians that will play you a song for $100 pesos. They have plenty of parking.
Tania G — Google review
I’m not sure why the previous reviewers meal was so much, but I paid about $80-$90 USD to feed five people. We all got drinks as well. Everyone’s meal was a full meal. I personally got the octopus meal and it was honestly to die for. Will definitely be back.

By far, this is the best seafood restaurant that I have been to. Their shrimp Toritos and clams (pictured) are excellent; everything we ordered, including seafood pasta plates, was outstanding; in addition to getting great service, the prices are great.
Gustavo C — Google review
Terrible. The recommended top dish was gloopy sauce from a bag, lacking freshness we were after from a garlic butter sauce. The scallops were old and dried out. We sent it back. The onion soup was nearly pure salt, not edible. They offered a seafood broth which was the most concentrated seafood flavor I've ever had, like a bowl of fish sauce. We had a couple appetizers that were ok but I can't recommend anyone going there.

The setting adds to the experience, offering a beautiful backdrop for enjoying delicious tapas and wine.
Delicious food is an understatement!! Best food in Valle of Guadalupe. The owner is a Lovely lady that reflects on every bite. Don’t miss out on it!

Amazing place... great service, fastintic food accompanied by great wine!! My favorite is the lengua ,shrimp and potatoes plate!!

Wow! This place is absolutely gorgeous! And so many delicious choices on the menu(We had the Sausage al brandy, the Ensalada Verde, and Champiñones al ajillo cones with lots of dipping bread)! The wine is great too, we tried the Uriel and the Jardín de Tru. Recommend all of the above. And then walk the grounds its just really nice here. Needless to say the customer service was fantastic as well. Come enjoy, we will definitely be back many times.

I loved my dining experience outside! The service was excellent and warm. Offerings were fresh and interesting. I had mushrooms (tapas) and the duck confit torta, agua fresca, and a glass of house wine. Well-priced, tranquil space, great service. Looking forward to visit again!

The food, beer, and wine were amazing! Great atmosphere! Roasted mushrooms were really good, and so were the potatoes with shrimp/tounge! I would go back any day!

Delicious food and the staff were very attentive. The ribeye grilled cheese was awesome, as was the shrimp salad. Would definitely recommended this place.

Very nice food and service. The food was flavorful and fresh. The lingua was well cooked and probably the best I've had in my limited experience with this meat. Very reasonable prices too; <$30 USD for two dishes and two glasses of wine. I think I would have preferred tortillas rather than bread, but it was soft and fresh at least.

Open Thursday through Monday, starting at 12:30pm. The winery itself is not my favorite in the region, but this food truck is pretty much my go-to lunch option when I’m bringing friends to the Valle for the first time. Good variety— lots of tapas— fresh produce, flavorful starters, salads, and sandwiches. And really reasonable prices. You can get what would be a $14 app in the US for maybe half the price here.

The restaurant is led by Mexican chef Roberto Alcocer, known for his innovative and playful approach to Baja Mexican cuisine. His exceptional culinary skills have earned him recognition from Michelin for Malva as well as his Valle restaurant in Oceanside, California.
Amazing place to experience culinary art. The chef takes you thru a tour of flavors, aromas, and textures. We ordered the 8 course meal. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was relaxing, and my wife and I were able to enjoy the night peacefully. The drinks were outstanding. The chef took the time to go over the dishes. Everything was amazing, and I truly recommend it. It is what Valle is all about!

Nice surprise. Small, simple atmosphere with very artistic touches. Open kitchen for a beautiful view. Chilly evening in outdoor-only space mitigated by wind screens that kept us comfortable. Chef Kevin made us welcome and delighted us with each course Price was very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Parking is a challenge but it’s worth it ;-)

We come from Israel where there’s lots of amazing food and we've been traveling in the USA for the past year and tasted some good food (and some less 😅). But this place in Guadalupe is by far the best meal we’ve ever had our whole lives!!! We just enjoyed it so much everything is freshly made, and just tastes like heaven! my husband and I each took a different four course meal that way we got to taste Everything. The sour bread is amazing. The fish melts in your mouth and the meat is so nice and soft the taco bun is the best bite you’ll ever have! Just pure joy! the wine was nice and smooth too. The waiter was really helpful and nice and all the people making the food are really nice. I really hope we can come to Baja again soon and eat here ❤️ thank you so much for best meal we’ve ever had!!

Made reservations right before I found out that it was mentioned by Michelin as a great restaurant. We went Friday night and we were the only people when we got there. The menu was confusing and the waiter had a hard time to explain it. I ordered the duck confit and it was delicious. My wife ordered the New York steak and it was cold and the waiter forgot to give her a steak knife. All in all it was ok. I would go again to see if that correct the problems.

The service was excellent. The setting was excellent. The food looked beautiful. The flavors were too strong, salty and rich for me. I needed a fresh salad or more veggies. I might have just ordered the wrong things. Very nice people in a beautiful peaceful location. Wished I loved the food more.

Great local food. Tacos were wonderful. Pricing was spot on. Good service. I highly recommend this location in Ensenda, as the tourist places (ex. Papas and Beer) charge more than U.S. city prices by far, when the food quality is very poor and drinks are worse. Birrieria La Guadalajara TACO'S were Great!

This was my first time. this restaurant was highly recommended to me by someone who lives in Rosarito and has frequented the restaurant. On the positives the restaurant is very clean and beautifully decorated the interior is nice. The servers are very attentive and friendly. The patio has a beautiful view of the hillside and many vineyards. The food was average. We ordered a seafood platter that was OK but not great. We also ordered and shared a steak platter and the steak was very chewy and had lots of nerves and tendons. I did not enjoy the steak. We ordered a dessert, which was the chocolate German cake, and it was also just OK. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and I was expecting more.

We stayed at Hotel and Boutique Spa and decided to try Fuego restaurant. From the start, the service was kind and welcoming. Our waiter Eric was especially helpful with the menu. We ordered the Camarones Agua Chile, Brussels sprouts, rib eye with mashed potatoes, and the cheesecake made with sheep’s milk. The agua chile, rib eye, and dessert were tasty, familiar flavors done well, but the sides completely stole the show. The mashed potatoes were the creamiest we have ever had, silky and not starchy at all. And the Brussels sprouts? Absolutely unforgettable. Roasted whole in a balsamic glaze with thin strips of bacon, they turned a dish I almost skipped into the star of the night. I will never look at Brussels sprouts the same again. Every other version will be compared to these.

The appetizers were really good. Drink and wine selection was also really good. I also really enjoyed the desserts. Where it fell down for me, was the entrees. From the vast variety of delicious steaks, some of which were completely new to me, to the inviting ambiance and beautifully designed salad bar, every aspect exceeded my expectations. Over 30 meats to pick from, we had about 13. All were good, wide selection, expertly cooked. Has a buffet bar with foods like menudo, mole, picadillo, and lots of fruits and veggies. The desserts were not good unfortunately. Dry, not sweet, and not much of a variety that matches the quality of the rest of the food. Service was good, family friendly, kid friendly, clean, lots of secure parking and a full bar.

(been there 4 times) Tips: Bring somebody that has been there before becuase it can be a little confusing,so you can make the most of the experience Price includes (310 pesos about 17 dlls for male )*cheaper after 7 pm mondays-fridays i think.Beverages NOt included and Desserts. Meats and salad Bar Included).looks like salad bar is not always 100% the same ,I find the food great but maybe is just me but lacks a bit on the flavor, somtimes i find more flavor on a 2.5 dlls torta than this food even doe the place is really great.never had the desserts becuase they really dont look apealing to me and i find them a on the high price to pay extra.(Have really mixed feelings on the service)they are nice but feels a bit on the military stress side than i warm welcome smile that i would prefer, that place can get crowded ( do not recommend that really) several times we really had to ask for the personal attention (maybe we did not look like we had much money) first time i went there was A LOT OF PRESURE FOR THE TIP! i really really really did not liked that , they will put you a calculator and said what they think you must give them but they kind of make it look like its part of the official price. wish is not true really did not liked that ,and when i asked for the check, the waiter was almostright there just infront of us for a good time while!! I took a lot of time to get my money out and made some little comments to see if we would back up a little with no luck,( this was uncomfterble and felt like invasion of privacy for us and at the same time feelt a bit also unrespectfull ) that action. the place is great but that really kills for me being a 5 star experience and i just feel it lacks a bit on flavor. P.s my fav was the baked pineapple.

I've been going to Valle de Guadalupe for 10 years and had never been here until recently. We had been tasting at Cava Maciel and decided to go here because it's reasonably close. I'm reasonably certain that the San Diego zoo based its Albert's restaurant on this place because it is just a meandering structure out into the "jungle," has good food, on site brewery, there was good music when we visited. A great experience.

Hello everyone, Ochentos pizza is a good place to visit pizza is good. Good quality ingredients, fantastic place is like on the side of a hill so its has 3 tier siting area. Very open space. If you chose to go in to a more close dinning area the place is decor with lots of vintage decor, motorcycle and large module airplane hanging from the roof. Its a really cool spot to enjoy. Food is great wings, fresh salads with cheese and vinoigrette. I had there Ochentos and Combo pizza. I can't complain. The only things that I will say it was a little expensive like US prices. I was expecting a little cheaper. But I would definitely visit this pizza joint at least once if your in the Valle de Guadalupe area. Like always my brothers and sisters feed your food souls and God bless.

Our waiter was polite and made good suggestions. Our host that seated us was OK. Unfortunately, we went during a chilly evening and we were seated outside since inside seating was full and were not seated near a heater (since tables near heaters were reserved but empty the entirety of our time there). Prices have risen significantly over the years (I have been visiting occasionally for several years now). The food is still good and tastes the same, but I don't think the prices match anymore. It does take one going out of their way to go to this restaurant since it's pretty far away from a main road, but I no longer think it is worth it to go to with how much prices have risen and any changes that might have occurred in improvement of food, service, or venue are unnoticeable.

Love love love this place!! I take everyone I know here because it's absolutely delicious. When I went this past weekend my aunt made sure to ask I bring her back a pizza because it's very good. I definitely recommend their house salad to go with their pizza. I love the vibe of the restaurant and the fact that they have their cats and dogs roaming freely throughout the restaurant. The restaurant is outdoors mostly so it's very chill and nice that it has a backyard vibe to it.

Ochentos is quite possibly one of my favorite restaurants ever. I have been traveling to the Valle for about a decade and I never miss a chance to dine here. The atmosphere is a 12 out of 10. So many unique little coves and places to set tables. Always live music and the friendliest wait staff ever. A big shout out to my friend Tarek who always takes such good care of us while we are there. The house salad is what I open with but it is only a teaser of what is to come. The only meal I’ve ever had and will ever order is the Cameron Pizza. An explosion of smoky chipotle flavor awaits as you take your first bite. It finishes with that amazing taste of shrimp. I have so many good memories eating here and I have introduced the place to over a hundred of my friends, family, and students. Te amo Ochentos! Bendiciones.

Great place to get fresh seafood entrees but if you don’t like seafood their are only a few options I had the stuffed chicken breast and it was very overcooked. I do love the family feel of the restaurant and the service is very good!

Veniamos con altas expectativas por recomendacion de conocidos, nos vamos totalmente decepcionados y ni hablar de la relacion calidad- precio horrible, comida desabrida y malas combinaciones de platillos a precios SUPER EXAGERADOS. ¿Regresaria? JAMAS. Tbh we had high expectatives about this place, we heard that food was delicious and stuff like that, if you’re someone who is not from Mexico, let me tell that even carls jr is so much better (telling you as a mexican citizen), if you are looking for some seafood i’d recommend “Carreta la doña” or “tacos castillo”, dont waste your time and money on this restaurant (if you can call it like that). Pd: The dishes are OVERPRICE and wachout they don’t charge the tip without asking.

Haven't been here in a while. They moved locations found their new spot and worth looking for. Always enjoyed the food here and still do.

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Mexico, Da Toni is a culinary gem that beautifully marries the rich flavors of Northern Italy with fresh ingredients sourced from Baja, California. Chef Tony Petracca's innovative approach results in a menu that changes daily, ensuring each visit offers something new and exciting. The restaurant pays tribute to traditional Italian cuisine while serving generous portions that are both simple and visually appealing. Guests rave about the attentive service, although it can feel a bit eager at times.
Absolutely loved our fine dining experience at da Toni. The food and cocktails were phenomenal! We were served by Angel who was friendly and knowledgeable. At the time of this posting, da Toni is accepting credit card payments. This is not a place to miss during your Ensenada adventure.

The new Da Toni location is amazing—stepping in feels like being transported to Northern Italy. The food is outstanding, the staff warm and welcoming, and the bar is a total hit. Always love coming back here!

I was a bit disappointed by this restaurant. Some friends really like it and come back regularly so I had high expectations. It is cash only so watch out, because they didn’t say anything, it was just written in the menu. The service was good and quick. It’s a small place so it can feel quite cozy, but it also makes it super loud and we could barely hear our waiter. The food was good but nothing amazing. It is quite pricey for the quality of food, I was expecting more. I wouldn’t go back but it wasn’t bad.

This place is wonderful. I might say that one of the best places in all baja. No reservations can be made, but you can call an hour in advance and they'll save a table for you. We had the jalapeño and serrano pesto spaguetti, which was AMAZING, but perhaps not foreigner-friendly. It was hoooooot, but delicious. We also had the ragú tagliatele, which was amazing as well. I could eat that every single day. Service is kind and attentive. My only disappointment was the wine offering. I would've expected for a Baja place to have a more diverse offer. Apart from that, everything was perfect.

What a pretentious joke of a restaurant especially when contrasted with the abundance of delicious food one can get in this region. They wanted to charge $80 for a steak. Sorry no thanks. Ravioli came out, 4 pieces on the plate. No bread or anything included. Had to pay for bread in an Italian restaurant!? And it was cold and stale when it did arrive. Salad was a joke dish with 3 mussels (literally 3). My bill for four people was more than any bill ever in my life for a group of four in Baja and even in San Diego. I got triple ripped off with the bill too. An 8% “mark up” added to the bill with no warning or explanation. I requested to pay in pesos with my credit card but they charged US dollars to my card and gave me a very low 17 peso exchange rate. Just the “mark up”, poor exchange rate, and charging US dollars to my card instead of pesos as I requested cost me an added $40 US dollars to an already ridiculous bill. Absolutely a joke of a restaurant right? Is this guy serious? Go across the street and get better homemade food for 1/20th the pretentious price. This place is ridiculous. Never again.

This place pays homage to Italian cuisine in the middle of Mexico - portions are big, ingredients are fresh and the plating is simple yet beautiful. Service is attentive but a bit overwhelming (they don't wait until you finish your plate to ask if you're finished with your plate). That said, cash only seems a very bad business decision given that the avg ticket price for 2 pax with 1 appetizer, 2 mains, 2 desserts and 3 alcoholic drinks is ~37 USD (740 MXN) without tip.

-CASH ONLY- really?! Who uses cash only these days? The setting is lovely, cozy and very well thought, you get seated and the first thing you see in the menu is “CASH ONLY”; ok, no wine today I guess, do I have enough for dessert? Where’s the closest ATM?!! Food was good and dished where well executed, yet they over did it with the salt in two of my dishes. I liked their proposal and the concept. I would have loved to do a food and wine pairing, this dishes deserve it, yet not feeling like going out and run to the nearest ATM. I do have to say, the best thing about my visit was the waiter, so enthusiastic and professional.

A lot of promise. Prices seem reasonable until the dishes arrive and you realize they are sampler size portions. My small portion of pasta with truffle butter was low on truffles. A friend dined with me who had been here before and remarked how, after ordering dinner there, her teen & slender daughter had to order a second entree for her to feel she had a proper dinner. She did not tell me this prior to seating.

Restaurant
Lunario Restaurante features Mediterranean cuisine with a focus on sustainability. The courtyard is a beautiful spot to enjoy the food and wine, and the service is top-notch. The restaurant offers gluten-free and allergy-friendly menus, as well as a glass house in winter if you prefer an indoor dining experience.
This is hands down the best restaurant in the Valle. We tried Fauna, Damiana, Conchas de Piedra, and this one blew us away the most. The chef’s creativity and attention to detail made every dish delightful and nuanced. The service was excellent (whereas in other restaurants we felt rushed), and I loved their commitment to sustainability and local farming. I would definitely recommend.

One of the best dining experiences in the valle! We loved the 8 course vegetarian with wine pairing. Every dish was unique and both beautiful and delicious. Locally sourced ingredients. We loved it!

Food is amazing, service is the best ever. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The property is relaxing and inviting. Dinner with the wine tasting is not to be missed. It made the whole experience better. The food was fresh and delicious. I loved the service and the entire vibe of the restaurant. It just feels good to be there.

The food was absolutely delicious and refreshing! Our waitress was thorough in explaining each dish, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Every dish and drink had its own unique character, each one standing out in the best way. To top it off, they brought an extra dessert for our kids to share, which was such a thoughtful touch. Truly a memorable dining experience!

absolutely incredible. this is a MUST GO in the valley. from the entrance to the quality of the food & service, it was all incredible. small space with feels intimate and homey with class. i felt taken care of at every moment of the evening. we got the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairing and it was 1000% worth it. highlights included the agua mala wine-beer blend, tomato soup (yes- it’s elegant & incredible), tamale, and final chocolate, fig, ice cream dish paired with the tempranillo.

Went to Lunario yesterday for the 8 course menu. First, the roads getting there are quite rough, so be aware. Parking is across the street at the vineyard. Google maps doesn't take you to the right spot. I thought the atmosphere was ok, nothing special for a fancy restaurant. However, the service and the food were really high quality. I really appreciated the vegetarian tasting menu option. Each dish was really well crafted and by the end of the night, I was just the right amount of full. Prices are a little high compared to other tasting menu restaurants in the area. About $200 per person with a couple of drinks. If you are a foodie, I would 100 percent recommend coming here. Had a really great meal! My favorite dish was the carrot taco!

Incredible dining experience! Loved every meal. We reserved for a six course meal but we could’ve opted for a four course because we were already full halfway through. The portion is just a perfect size, but when you are tasting every bite you get for so easily. The ambience is amazing. We will come back again!

Top fine dining experience in Valle de Guadalupe! Beautiful grounds and wonderful culinary experience. One of the few places where the FOOD is memorable, not just the grounds or experience. A lot of attention to detail both in the food and the service. I watched as Chef Sylvia personally checked every plate before it went out. Because the location is confusing to find, they have someone waiting at the entrance of the grounds to guide all customers to the restaurant. Will definitely come back again!
