Breakfast restaurant
Casa Marcelo, located in central Ensenada, is a popular restaurant owned by Marcelo Castro, a fourth-generation cheesemaker known for his Ramonetti cheeses produced in the nearby Valle de Ojos Negros. The welcoming facade adorned with bougainvillea leads to a dining area set in a courtyard shaded by wood slats and lush trees. This local favorite is renowned for its breakfast menu featuring artisanal cheese from the ranch used to garnish signature dishes like chilaquiles.
It was our place for breakfast for 2days stay in Ensenada. The place is amazing and the food is excellent. The experience this place offers is hard to describe, just try it! Muy delicioso! 😙🤌
A. V — Google review
This place has been rated by Michelin as Bib Gourmand for a reason. Very good food at reasonable prices. Excellent dishes with their twist. We had the casuelita en salsa verde and the platos Marcelo. Both were great options. They start you off with some bread and their signature cheese on the house accompanied by a salsa matcha with what I think is Chipotle. All very good. The customer service was excellent and the place is very near, within walking distance of the main strip in Ensenada.
Salvador R — Google review
Wow! Fresh, delicious, upscale food at affordable prices. We had the chilaquiles con barbacoa and the mushroom risotto. Both fabulous. The atmosphere inside the tree covered patio is relaxing, tranquil. Service was attentive and helpful. One of our favorite places to dine in Ensenada so far. Highly recommend!
Kelly F — Google review
I was really looking forward to trying Casa Marcelo, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations for a Michelin Guide restaurant. We were originally told there would be a 20-minute wait, which ended up being closer to 35 minutes. Once seated, the service was disappointingly slow—our server never checked on us after bringing the food, and when we finished our meal, we had to track them down. It then took another 15 minutes just to receive the bill. As for the food, it was underwhelming overall. I ordered the machaca, which had very little meat and was mostly tomatoes. On a brighter note, others in my group ordered the chilaquiles, which were much better. Between the lackluster service and uneven food quality, the experience just didn’t live up to the hype.
Magali G — Google review
The space is absolutely gorgeous and the food was 10/10. So glad we found this place - might be the best chilaquiles I’ve had.
Ben R — Google review
Food was great, but not that memorably delicious. Very popular (maybe because they are on Michelin bin gourmand), so we had to wait like 40 min. Service was good though
Hyeonghun K — Google review
I enjoyed my breakfast immensely. Great hang. Great fun.
J. R — Google review
What a charming spot for breakfast. The food was excellent, service was spot on, and the vibe was perfect. A older Spanish vibe for sure, loved the courtyard with all the foliage. Good coffee and Mimosas, the two dishes we tried were unique and delicious. I highly recommend trying this place. If I had tried more of their dishes, I would probably given them a 5 star review.

El Rey Sol Restaurant is a long-standing, family-run venue in Ensenada, Mexico that offers authentic French dishes and pastries. Established in 1947 by Dona Virginia Pepita Geffroy, who studied at Le Cordon Bleu, this renowned restaurant is known for its Parisian pastries that are as authentic as those found in France.
The food looks just as good as it tastes! The hospitality is so warm and welcoming. We appreciated the recommendations from the staff. Especially Van Vanessa Alejandra Fuentes. The Apple & Cinnamon hot tea was my favorite along with the French Toast. Sit outside with the beautiful succulents or indoors where it’s beautifully decorated. Thank you, we will be back and highly recommend.
Martee — Google review
An interesting place, El Rey Sol. When we went the place was absolutely empty. Despite that the food took a while to get to our table. The mushroom soup was actually pretty good. The dinners were not.... I had linguine with fish with a wine sauce. I had assumed it would be white wine but it was, I think, a soy sauce that wasn't horrible but.... surprising. My partner had the duck with fruit sauce that was basically a dessert and unpalatable. My friend had Coq Au Vin which was ok. All in all, it was a middling experience and definitely not worth the premium cost.
Sean D — Google review
Thank you for reading the Honest Reviews4u! This restaurant is very clean inside and out and serve was very professional. The restaurant is quite busy so wait is expected. Many famous people like the U2 band come here for a nice meal. The restaurant does have a classic fancy feeling. Great for a business, romantic, family and friends meal. The food was very good and well cooked. I highly recommend this place!👍🏼
Honest R — Google review
I don’t like giving negative reviews to restaurants but- if a restaurant is expensive and touting itself as fine dining then it’s another story. Between the 3 of us, one meal was ok, the coq au vin, one was meh, the wine pasta, and one was outright inedible, the duck. The dish was a lump of overcooked duck meat with some odd fruit sauce dumped on top of it. While a berry sauce with duck could be subtle and divine, this was as if someone took a sauce for cheap pancakes and poured it over chunks of duck. Yuck.
Holly B — Google review
Great place for an intimate dining experience (inside) or a fun lively dinner (outside) in the fresh air. Our waiter was very attentive and did a great job with making the Cesar salad table side. Our filets were cooked great and everything was what I was expecting. Across 4 of us, we had 9 drinks plus our food, including 2 filets, price was very fair.
Scott R — Google review
A Gem in Ensenada, we travel to France frequently. The food pastries is EXACTLY what they serve in France. We Had the privilege of eating here and meeting the manager he showed us around and told us the history of this fine Establishment
Gene K — Google review
Ensenada was the last port while on the Princess Cruise. Went to walk around and found that this place seemed to have a nice patio. Stopped by for a quick bite and drink. Food was ok at best. But worst service ever. Food got dropped off and never saw anyone again. I had to find someone just to get silverware. And they didn't even give me a napkin. They also gave me a snotty attitude when I asked for one. Flies were all over the place. Not clean or pleasant at all. Highly recommend if you're looking for an overpriced tourist trap with poor service.
Stan T — Google review
French opulence and art decorate this beautiful restaurant. We felt like we were in Versailles with the piano music played by a real human. Beautiful melodious music for for the royals. We enjoyed French baguette, beurre and yummy dinner. We had beautiful seasoned Pasta Louie and caprese salad. For drinks, we had tamarind margarita and lime margarita. Highly recommend for delicious food, great ambience and amazing experience. So beautiful that we forgot to take pictures of the food. Our friend tried French Onion soup and Chicken Cordon Bleu! Great presentation and delicious.

Nestled in the heart of Ensenada, Barra D' Café is a charming coffee shop that stands out for its unique approach to coffee. Here, patrons are invited to actively participate in their experience by selecting their preferred coffee beans. This cozy spot offers a serene atmosphere, making it an ideal place for work or relaxation away from the bustling crowds typical of other cafes and pubs.
This café provides some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. My V60 pour over, Chiapas, was as good as I’ve had anywhere in the world. That means the beans from roasting to grinding to pouring were perfectly done. Maybe there’s another coffee spot to put up a challenge in Ensenada, but I won’t find it because I can have only so much coffee in a day, it won’t be better anywhere else, and I’m not wasting a day or dollar with possible disappointment that won’t happen here. I’m going back tomorrow. My wife and daughters loved their iced and hot matcha lattes too. DAY 2 UPDATE: It’s the next day and we stopped for drinks again. I had the Chiapas Chemex this time, equally great, fueled me for a long drive. The girls had Chai Latte today, except one stuck with her new favorite Matcha Latte. They enjoyed the Chai too. A couple new staff members today who were of the top quality as yesterday. It’s nice to hear “Welcome back” when I’ve only been once before, even if it was yesterday. Still my favorite new coffee shop.
Peter32 S — Google review
very beautiful location and great coffee too. slightly more acidic than the coffee i'm used to so if you're into that you should come here!
Isaac L — Google review
The lines were huge, and their ratings were high, so I don't even like coffee, but I lined up for my wife. I accidentally ordered two lattes because my Spanish is terrible, so I drank one, and my wife drank one. It's not bad. It was a little strong, but they did warn me. It was a little sour/acidic, but it wasn't bitter. My wife says they didn't burn the milk, so that's a thing. I can vouch for non-coffee drinkers that it's not bad. It's pretty cheap: like $2 for a latté?
Richard L — Google review
You may encounter varying degrees of english here, relevant if you’re an estadounidense (American), but we were easily able to order and pay (Apple Pay) without issue. It’s a lovely place and the Toast Huevito was fantastic. The two salsas / hot sauces they provide are delicious, one mas caliente (very hot, black color) but deliciously flavorful, and the other just on the absolutely flavorful side (red color). 10/10 would recommend for a fairly quick bite, took about 8 minutes to get two toasts.

very good coffee and other drinks. the lime, sparkling water and coffee shell drink was amazing. cute atmo and very chill. would go back. good prices too.

The coffee was top tier and rivals some of the best that ive had . Pretty small location but the whole building and vibe is so cool. Would come again.

We stopped by Barre De Café as part of a self-guided food & drink tour on a cruise visit to Ensenada. A 30 minute walk from the port, you'll be rewarded with a charming café offering authentic mexican beverages (we opted for the Mexican hot chocolate - great tasting with a spicy edge), from friendly, and attentive staff. To find, keep an eye out for the murial on the outside of the building.

Breakfast restaurant
Nestled at the end of a rugged dirt road in the picturesque Valle de Guadalupe, La Cocina de Doña Esthela has long been cherished by locals and is now gaining fame beyond its humble beginnings. This beloved breakfast spot has captured hearts since its feature on Rick Stein's BBC show, showcasing traditional Sinaloan dishes that are simply irresistible.
If you want a very authentic Mexican breakfast come to this place. Expect some wait (15 minutes to an hour). Can’t get here without GPS as it is in the middle of nowhere but locals do. Full of locals and super busy. They serve a mean wonderful breakfast. It is a must visit. We came here yesterday and we are back again!
S E — Google review
I can understand why La Cocina de Doña Estela in Valle de Guadalupe has earned its Michelin star. I only ordered the potato soup, but I was blown away by the depth and richness of the broth. The flavors not only brought me back to my childhood, they went beyond that. My friend ordered the nopales with egg, something you could easily make at home, but tasting it here, from the land it originates from, just hits differently. The portions are generous, which can be dangerous because you’ll want to keep eating. The pan dulce was also incredible. We took some back to enjoy with coffee the next morning. I’m normally not a big breakfast person (just coffee for me) but this place makes me want to return and try every single one of their specialty dishes
Brenda V — Google review
This place has been talked about every time you google breakfast places in the Valle de Guadalupe. Of course I had to try it! Went with a group of friends (4 total) a little before 9am. And it was already getting pretty busy. We were seated right away; and had requested outdoor seating. Inside felt very packed for us and needed that extra quiet feeling. Outside was perfect! We went right before the weather started getting warmer. The waiter brought over queso fresco and chips. The cheese felt very fresh! And could be from the farm they have onsite with cows. Our food was all delicious! Will go back and try another dish.
Melissa R — Google review
Definitely not worth the wait. Menu is mostly breakfast items which unfortunately I’m allergic to milk, eggs and pork. So fair to say very limited choices. The wait is ridiculous for what you are getting. I’ve heard people wait up to 4-5 hours. According to one of the workers an hour wait is like no wait. The road to get to the place is bad. I recommend going with good tires and suspension. I think the food may have been great before all the hype.Yes, it’s delicious because it’s not processed and more like our mom or grandma’s cooking. I cook in the same fashion so it was nothing extraordinary for me or my partner. I personally will not be making the drive again. But as always give it a try it may or may not be for you. FYI: There are three roads that will take you to the restaurant according to one of the workers. There is one we took going in which was the worst one. Lots of potholes and not paved. The one we used to exit was actually not bad at all when comparing the two. The second one was flat and only had a few potholes. There is parking inside and outside of the facility. Go with lots of patience, not hungry or take a snack and drink if you go after they open. Or you could buy yourself a drink from the coffee stand and snacks from one of other stands. Also Dona Esthela may be available to meet and greet her customers.
Gloria F — Google review
Boy what is there to say about this celebrity joint. Anthony Bourdain, Chef Ramsey, and many other have come to this place. They are all over social media. And yes its as good as they say it is. The very slow well seasoned lamb, the beef machaca, the homemade tortillas "flower and corn" is do die for. I'm not a fan of just to eat lamb but this one is definitely superb and one of a kind. Don't for get awesome corn pancakes and the café dw olla. Its worth driving the 20min drive from Ensenada in Valle de Guadalupe. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Feed your food souls and God bless, its a must.
Rogelio J — Google review
Prepare for at least an hour’s wait on the weekend but totally worth it. Delicious, traditional Mexican home cooking. I’ve been twice now. The specials - borrego tatemado and the corn pancakes are must haves.
Victor P — Google review
Solid breakfast spot. We went with the machaca and elote pancakes. It really does have the feel of a large family breakfast set up. The beans were great, the elote pancakes were good but very dense and chewy, which definitely is a different concept of how I see pancakes. The machaca was tasty but it wasn’t something I would likely order again. The fresh cheese with the salsa and chips however was excellent. I think the concept of an elote pancake is awesome though! Next time, I would like to try the chilaquiles. The orange juice was tasty. Tasted fresh squeezed and was told made in house, which I believe. Come EARLY. Sunday morning brunch crowd filing in after their minor wine hangover is a real thing. We got there at 815 and had no problem finding a table and ordering but it looks like after that, it starts ramping up.

This is an amazing location. We arrived late last night. We were received with open arms and a glass of wine - and truth be told the wine was delicious. A quick change in shift left us with another amazing young man who jumped right in, showed us to our room, and quickly confirmed the massage booked for the next morning. The experience overall was amazing. Breakfast there was also a wonderful experience.

The place is nice and food was good but the service could've been a little better. It was happy hour and we were charged regular prices for our margaritas. Some of our meals were missing items listed on the menu as well. Just double check your receipt before paying.
Nathan P — Google review
Beautiful hotel with restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The room was very spacious and the entry to the hotel was gated which provided peace of mind. We had a great weekend stay!
Vianey R — Google review
The setting here is beautiful the hacienda-style architecture and view really make for a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. The staff is also very kind and welcoming. That said, the food is clearly geared more toward the American palate, and unfortunately, it falls short in flavor and authenticity. We ended up here because we didn’t want to wait an hour at Doña Estela, but ironically still waited nearly an hour only to be served bland chilaquiles. Three of us ordered them and none of us finished our plates. Even the coffee missed the mark I asked for an Americano and was served basic filtered coffee. We asked for salsa to try and boost the flavor, but it didn’t really help much. This was my second time eating here, and both visits left me disappointed. If you're coming for the views or staying at the hotel, it might be worth a visit for the ambiance. But if you’re looking for standout food in Valle, there are definitely better options nearby.

Really delightful breakfast at the restaurant. La combinación de hacienda was truly delicious and the arrachera to die for. I loved my green juice and the pan dulce as well. The true highlights are the stunning grounds, views of the valley and service provided by the delightful Alicia. She is truly passionate about the valley and providing an exceptional experience. It was because of this we wound up spending the whole day here and hope to enjoy an overnight stay and a wine tasting next time we return. Thank you for a delicious meal, tranquil afternoon and great local recommendations. There are lots of great places in the valley, but I'd consider this an absolute 'must stop', especially for breakfast. See you soon!

The architecture is beautiful, very cozy and welcoming. The greeter is okay but the waiter was excellent with his service. The quality of the food and the serving presentation was very good, the flavor of our breakfast meals was delicious.

We stumbled upon this place trying to find somewhere open at 8am for breakfast on a Sunday morning... and we're really happy that this is the only place we could find. The food and service was excellent. Their Mexican hot chocolate and 'dulces' were an unexpected, yet much welcomed touch. I definitely want to go back for dinner some time, and probably even stay at the hotel, which looks beautiful.

Great local food. Tacos were wonderful. Pricing was spot on. Good service. I highly recommend this location in Ensenda, as the tourist places (ex. Papas and Beer) charge more than U.S. city prices by far, when the food quality is very poor and drinks are worse. Birrieria La Guadalajara TACO'S were Great!

Excellent food and a local atmosphere. Authentic soft tacos at a good price. Indoor seating. After getting off our cruise and trying other tacos this place is the best we had in town and they did not try to rip us off or add extra charges to our bill so it is highly recommended.

This is regarding the wait staff only. I hear good things about the food. One of the waitresses had the neighborhood cat disappeared for no reason. Everything taste good and the rice and the beans on the side to the handmade tortillas rolled right in front of the restroom. Best food we had in the city. And free bathroom!

This food is sooooo good! We got the Molcajete de Carnes to share and it’s the best! The flank steak, chicken, cheese, and cactus is sooo tasty. The staff are all kind and I can tell they care about their restaurant. The homemade tortillas are amazing too! I’d eat here again and again.

Service has always been good and the restrooms are spotless. Real close to great shopping opportunities and located on an easily walkable street.

We sat outside. The weather was pleasant. The service was very good. When we sat, we were given chips and salsa. Chips were nice and crisp. Salsa was flavorful and was not too spicy. We ordered fish tacos and they were delicious. When it came time to pay, we received our check in a timely manner and was able to pay quickly.

Great place to have fresh tortillas, lady is making them right outside the restaurant. Staff ready to help and to make you comfortable, provide shade and you are protected from traffic. Food is good and price is as expected in that area. Toilets are very clean! I recommend it!

This place has the worse customer service i had called beforehand to reserve and i asked for parking directions as soon as i got there their host took a while to approach us we were standing by the sign where it states wait to be seated finally she came up to us and said for how many and we said 3 adults 1 child she looked at us up and down and said they were full they had just reserved for 40 people and they couldnt take us in i was in disbelief we felt like it was how we looked discriminated they prefer to take in tourists that had arrived from their cruise ship never again.

Nestled in the heart of Ensenada, El Corralito Restaurant is a vibrant spot that captures the spirit of Baja's off-road racing culture. The walls are adorned with dollar bills and memorabilia from various races, creating an energetic atmosphere perfect for both locals and travelers alike.
Tried this during a bus tour. Took about 45 minutes to eat. Tried the tacos and torta. Meats tried: Asada, Carinitas, Pollo, Pastor, Pescado. We less liked the pastor and pescado. The carnitas torta comes in two big sandwiches. Feeds two. Hot, fluffy, buttery toasted bread glazed w a thin layer of beans w meat, tomatoes, lettuce was quite bliss. Recommend the torta.

The food was excellent! We sat outside in their covered patio which accommodated our group of 10. Look how big the burrito was! The Flautas had the best flavor! 10 people ate for $94.00. Check out the beautiful sink in the bathroom.

Excellent service, prices and location. We stopped here while on a carnival cruise and El Corralito ended up being one of the biggest highlights of our cruise. Aaron was amazing and so were all other restaurant employees that played a role in such a positive experience for us in ensenada!

This place is amazing! There are dollar bills everywhere, you won't believe it. We even put our own dollar bill on the wall. The food was delicious and the prices were fair. My husband and I both had steak fajitas and they were so good. You should definitely check this place out.

My family and I came to this restaurant while being in Ensenada and the vibes, drinks, and food were amazing! Jose was an amazing server and he made our welcome so warm. I didn’t expect this burrito I ordered to be this big and it was so delicious and fresh. We enjoyed our time at this restaurant and I recommend it to anyone who visits Ensenada.

Went in Saturday night to watch the playoff game and do some drinking and eating, but l wasn’t going to order anything until they put the game on. Asked the bartender and the waitress and lm thinking the owner or manager all said they would. Waiting for 20 minutes and still no one put the game on, plus waitress never came back after l asked for the game to be shown. So we walked out and found another bar that did immediately. Horrible service and workers at el corralito.

Las Bugambilias Restaurante is an impressive establishment that exceeded expectations with its exceptional service, delectable food, and delightful ambiance. The owner went the extra mile to accommodate a large group of 19, showcasing remarkable dedication. The dishes were delicious and served promptly, creating a pleasant dining experience. Notably, this place stands out compared to other establishments in Ensenada where the food is both overpriced and unsavory.
The people working here is really nice! They take good care of you and they are really serviceminded. The food is really good as well, and they have nice margaritas and drinks. I will defently recommend this place! I came all over from Norway to visit this town, and have been at this restaurant several times because of the good food and the nice people here.

My second review because this place really captures the hospitality of Baja! Thank you Eduardo for making an exception for me for breakfast after a day of too many tacos. My system just overloaded on the experience Baja offers. If anyone is looking for the best restaurant in the area, I have to say this is it. The brunch on Sunday was so delicious and I wish I could get another Watermelon Mango drink. Again, thank you Eduardo and all the wonderful staff for going above and beyond to help our visit be so unforgettable! We can’t wait to come back in November.

The place is nice, although going in the weekend there is a lot of people around the restaurant so the parking is really hard to find. The food was great, the parrillada was excellent very tasteful. The service is what I think brings it down a little, I was never taken the order of my drinks, stuff took a lot of time to get to the table and for some reason they always take the fork. The waitresses were never rude or disrespectful. The restaurant is self is pretty but I took away some points cause parking is really difficult to find and if you go with an elder person you may cause traffic cause you have to leave them near si you can find parking

It caters to the preferences of tourists that frequent this town by preparing their meals accordingly.
Very nice traditional Mexican food....Sopa de papa was a great starter and tasted freshly made and delicious. Tempiquena plate was a favorite. Steak was well prepared, flavorful and a nice size. Margaritas were just ok but the flan dessert was a hit...had to order an extra.

I'm torn by how to review this place. I really wanted to like it. They have a great menu, the atmosphere is old world from a bygone era. Don't read that as a bad thing, it definitely has a cool vibe. Old school sophistication. I ordered a margarita and quite honestly it was pretty weak. Meaning not strong. But there was this smell. I wasn't sure if it was bad or just weird. And I couldn't place it. I mentioned it to the waiter. He told me from where it was originating. I decided that I would leave and asked for the check. They were pretty slow that night, perhaps 3 other tables in total. Yet no one came with the bill. I finally decided to just leave. I left an ample amount of cash on the table...plenty to cover the drink and a sizable tip. I left and no one came after me. I really wanted to eat here, but I couldn't. Would I try it again in a couple of weeks? I would. I might have caught them on a bad night. I’m hoping that the owner reaches out to me.

Nice, clean and spacey restaurant. The flavor of the food was good. Service is fast and friendly. Like many other restaurants around here is not exactly traditional Mexican. The flavors are but the food not on its entire experience. There’s a lot of tourist in this town so they try to cook in a way that pleases tourist. We ordered chilaquiles, the sauce was flavorful but not spicy and it was loaded with maybe mozzarella cheese. Traditionally chilaquiles are served with queso fresco or cotija cheese and only scattered not covering the dish. Their jugo verde is very good and they serve fresh made corn tortillas with your meal. Before they bring your food they give you a starter, chicharrón con salsa or a quesadilla.

First timer, first visit: restaurant is nice and clean breakfast it's very popular with locals so it's usually packed food is delicious and inexpensive. I would of rated 5 stars but the service was not the best..we weren't checked to see if we needed anything else during our meal, we had to ask several times for coffee refills. Second visit: server was more joyful and attentive and coffee service was good, until the establishment got full it took for ever to get our check so we just walked over to the cashier to pay. Do I recommend? Definitely, Food is great!!

We arrived on a rainy day and had to wait outside because our party of nine included two small children. After approximately 30 minutes, we observed from outside that a large table was available and clean. However, the server repeatedly informed us that the table was still dirty, and we needed to continue waiting outside in the rain. After reiterating that the table was clean for the third time, we were finally permitted to enter the establishment. We promptly placed our order, but the beverages were not delivered until 10-15 minutes later, which was not satisfactory. It appeared that friends of the owner/manager were receiving prompt attention, while our table was neglected. We were informed that our food would take 50 minutes to be prepared, so we made the decision to leave. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I would not recommend visiting this establishment on a weekend or when the manager's friends are present. It is easy to identify these individuals, as the manager will be seen greeting them and promptly delivering their food. Look for another place and avoid such a disappointment

Great place in downtown Ensenada. Great waffles and coffee. Clean, warm and welcoming owners. Antonio offered us advice on a great restaurant out in Valley de Guadalupe - which we also loved. What a lovely place, and such unique ideas for waffles! It is pricier than old menus declare, but well worth the experience. I wish we had one of these at home as it would be fun to try all the flavors! My husband and I (with our dog!) joined at brunch time on a weekday, and it was packed, but we were immediately seated. The waffles are delicious, with a soft and chewy base that isn't too sweet. I loved the veggie waffle, and paired it with tomato sauce so it was like a pizza. My husband got the Colado and it was a coconut lovers dream. We also shared a Nutella shake, which was super yummy. The server looked after us very well. It was easy to talk to and hear each other, even with all of the families around us. It's definitely a place that's worth more than one stop! I especially appreciate their animal friendliness.

Normally I'm not the biggest fan of Mexican versions of food that I love from back home, like waffles (normal Mexican food is better anyway.) But Holy Sh*t, putting the chorizo, onions, and peppers in the batter of the waffle was amazing. And the chipotle dressing was great too. I'll for sure be back.

I am DELIGHTED to find a place that serves real greens! Spinach salad for the "verduras" side salad that is usually iceberg lettuce in other places. And it was so good. The veggie panini was amazing, too! I couldn't believe they used steamed greens in it! Sooo delicious! Portions weren't huge, and it was on the more expensive side, but 100% worth it for the quality ingredients and healthy-deliciousness!

I've been here many times I've read reviews of mediocre service but I've never experienced that they are always quick even when busy they are super attentive always asking if we need refills. The food is excellent the outdoor dining is great I've never had a bad meal or any issue 👍

The chilaquiles in chipotle sauce were good, the meat was mid. They make the bread in the restaurant so is fresh. They give you a choice of enpanada de carne or chicharron con chile verde as your -on the house- starter. We sat outside which we love so its bound to have some bugs and birdies. As you can see there was a big spiderweb and then the spider came out which was scary but it was just doing what nature does. It's a good place to eat. They have many options. Service could be better but they're nice.

The food was okay, the steak was pretty thin and didn't even have a lot of flavor to it, and the refried beans were really bland. The sauce for the garlic mushrooms was good but it honestly tastes like the mushrooms came out of a can. Honestly I ate it I didn't hate it so I can't complain. It wasn't terrible it just wasn't what I was expecting.

I highly recommend this place. Fresh food, great atmosphere, and wonderful experience. The food was first class. This isn't the cheapest restaurant and will set you back $15-$50 U.S. per person, but it is totally worth it. The best thing on the menus from what I tasted was the shrimp tacos.

Breakfast is not bad, I just would put it on top of my to go list. Service is good, waiters are polite and respectful and always attentive. What I do have to say about food is that portions are big so if you are really hungry you'll have no problem. Either way I would recommend this place if you were looking for something casual, something just to have breakfast and leave. Over all I'll give it a solid 8/10

We loved it. I don't know if they are under new management or what, after looking at previous reviews. The wait staff is probably the most efficient I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. The food was amazing. Probably my new favorite breakfast spot on Ensenada.

We were staying at the hotel next door and decided to have dinner here as recommended from one of our friends. However they said it was years ago. The place tries really hard to give you a vibe like you are in a high end exclusive restaurant. The food turned up to be horrible, even the pasta my kids ordered was tasteless. When we spoke with the waiter about our experience he called the manager and the manager only said that there was nothing wrong with our meals and it was just that we didn't like it. 6 meals on the table were left almost intact as the food was not even good enough to try to eat. Worst over US$100 ever spent. We should have better off eat from a street vendors Stay away, consider yourself warn

i had delicious omelet with spinach, cheese, big mushrooms, avocado. My wife had pancakes, but I'm gluten-free. The corn tortillas were soft and fluffy and hot, so I smothered them with butter and syrup and had tasty gluten-free pancakes! Even on a busy day, their service was quick. We sat with our dogs on their pet-Friendly patio overlooking camp grounds, plants, flowers, and children playing. Inside, the customers were being serenaded by a man playing a harp-like instrument. I've eaten here many times. It's gone down in quality. The food was only fair. I ate less than half and pushed my plate away in disgust. Somehow they thought making enchiladas should be done with cotija cheese...like only cotija. It was terrible. I asked for a little bit of onion "muy poquito" and it was stuffed with tons of onions. It was an onion and cotija enchilada. I’m sorry but it was gross. The waitress was super rude. But that said, the place is clean and the patio has a nice vibe...but I won't eat here again. They earned this review.

I walked in at the time it opened and I was greeted with smiles. Service was great, place was pretty, and Food was amazing!👌👌👌

The chilaquiles con birria I had was good, but they told me 15 minutes wait for the upstairs area to be ready. Then 20 minutes later they asked me to sit at the "bar" and order because there would be a table for me by the time the food was ready. My food came and they said the upstairs was a big mess and still not ready. And since there were no empty tables I got stuck at the "bar". Uncomfortable. 😐

A wonderful experience with patient and helpful service along with great food. Our waiter spoke some English which was of great help to our group. I would highly recommend the french toast and the chilaquiles, both of which were scrumptious. Pricing was adequate for the food and location. If you're looking for brunch in Ensenada, this is the place!

Coffee was terrible! Old, bad tasting, no sugar, no spoon, no milk or cream. The omelet was ok, but the beans were cold. Servers were on their cells or talking among themselves and not paying attention. Had to ask three times for cutlery. The place is nice and clean. Disappointing experience.

I liked the place. Fancy and original. The menu is limited. The sweet bread is wonderful and delicious. The plates are salty for my tasting. I'm sure gourmet plates shouldn't be salty. That's the reason why I'm giving 3 stars and they compete with gourmet restaurants because of prices.

La Flor De La Calabaza is a popular vegan restaurant in Ensenada, Mexico. Despite the city's growth and busyness, this eatery stands out for its unique features, delicious organic food, and charming atmosphere. Customers praise the friendly staff and the variety of delectable dishes such as omelettes with goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach. The restaurant also offers mouth-watering desserts like French toast with berries.
This place is an absolute gem! The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and their juices are a must-try—especially the Refrescate, which was our favorite. During our stay in Ensenada, we came here for breakfast every single day, and it never disappointed. The coffee was also fantastic, and the friendly, attentive staff made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

So …. I am really happy about this one it was exactly as I expected. Good quality and service for the money. Everything is organic , I had a blast eating my omelette I got the one with goat cheese , cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach. It was amazing !!! ( and I make pretty legit ones ) My daughters French toast was amazing just as I make them for her. Watch the video lots of berries, yummy! My mom got another omelette with “chistorra” that was amazeballs. My dad and hubby got the “ enfrijoladas” which they didn’t complain but we don’t like black beans in our family. We prefer mayocoba or pinto beans that would make a huge difference. From both of their perspectives and of course me taking a bite of my husband’s we all agreed that it was very bland. Not so tasty and not much cheese. Omg funny detail here, I got a ginger shot with garlic and omg it was so so spicy and will never do it again. I forgot the name I think it was “ alíviate “ or something like that. We all got smoothies and coffee as well the smoothie size is too small , the straws are not working out and the coffee was not so great. But I will return for that omelette. Thumbs up!

The mochoso sandwich on foccacia was the perfect balance of bacon, veggies and bread. I liked that the onions were grilled, it added some sweetness. A little salsa Macha gave it a nice spicy kick. I think we lucked out with street parking in front; it was pretty full up with cars going into and coming out of the restaurant. There is a cute coffee and goods shop inside, with aromatherapy items and pastries/cookies.

My favorite restaurant in Ensenada! I have pretty much eaten here every day this week, tried something new every time, and somehow the food keeps getting better and better! Not only is the food delicious, healthy, and organic but the atmosphere is super charming and welcoming. Everyone who works here is wonderful! Victoria's food is spectacular, Yamel's desserts are mouth watering, and the service from Nena and Guillermo is friendly and warm. This place makes me want to move to Ensenada so I can eat here everyday!

Huevo Republic Restaurante is a small, open-air restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe. It serves traditional Mexican dishes, including egg dishes. The restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike, as it is close to wineries and the border crossing into Mexico. Juana the cat is a friendly mascot who makes it a fun place to eat. The breakfast menu offers a wide range of options, from American to Mexican classics.
Had an amazing breakfast here, everyones meals were excellent, the location is among several hotels and other restaurants down a dirt road, you eat on a patio that is amazing and was warm and inviting, our only comment was the service there were 7 young girls that mostly stood around and chatted, they took for ever to bring drinks and some of us never even received the drinks we ordered until we were paying the check, we sent it back. Don't let this stop you from trying this amazing place, you will love it.

Huevo Republic is hands down one of my favorite spots in Valle de Guadalupe. I’ve been back plenty of times, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently amazing. The chilaquiles are a must, especially the Tour de Chilaquiles with chipotle, rojo, and verde sauces. Each one has its own kick and flavor profile, and together they’re next level. The coffee is always on point, they offer a solid selection of artisan beers, and their carajillo is easily the best I’ve ever had. The service is warm and welcoming every time, and the whole vibe makes it such a great place to start your day in the valley. Can’t recommend it enough. This place is a staple for me whenever I’m in town.

they do a currency conversion with 7% markup US dollars charging without asking my preference, this is not acceptable! They should always ask first! Most US card has foreign transaction fee is only 3% and my Chase Sapphire card is 0% FTF fees, always prefer they charge pesos directly. Food wasn't bad, but the place is inside a hotel and you need to drive dirt road for about 500m off of the paved road 😔 Update: I changed to 3stars because the response they do have a good attitude. It might be true you didn't earn from currency exchange, but that 7% mandatory exchange rate markup do exist and that profit might be earned by whoever is provider of the charging terminal, you need to fix the charging terminal or replace it to not always charge in US dollars, at least you ask which currency preference first? In addition, I did pay 15% tipping, should be already generous in Mexico, to partially cover the charging terminal, But do not accept additional 7% hidden cost. All cost should be transparent and well told upfront!

Okay this is ONLY a review after breakfast is “over” at a restaurant with eggs in the name. It was underwhelming. No eggs are served only american food options like wings and burgers and they aren’t the great which was so surprising since their breakfasts are so good. I just wanted eggs and the poor server could not get anything of the sort made. I have come many many times during breakfast and it’s been my Fav even before they moved but this was so disappointing.

The price is good. The food is mediocre at best. The pancakes weren’t bad but everything else was pretty bland. They have a nice salsa picante to add to the food but it didn’t help too much. The service was friendly. Parking on the street if you can find it. They do offer valet in a tiny parking area. My advice if you want to eat here; ask for salt.

Food was decent, but staff seemed a little shady. They forgot to put feta cheese on salad we ordered, then tried to charge at the end of the meal extra because we asked them to bring some out (which was included in the first place). Also forgot to include mushrooms on salad we asked for, but then double charged for this at the end. Then charged in dollars at the end instead of pesos because they get more with the exchange rate. Left with a bitter taste in mouth, hate feeling like you get scammed at a supposedly nice restaurant.

After reading the great reviews we came back for dinner a week later with 7 friends. Not everyone's meal was perfect, but most of us loved it, particularly the breaded shrimp and the steak tacos. The sangria was a big hit as well as the margarita. A couple of us did have to wait quite a while for our food which was unfortunate. But the ambience is warm and comfortable and Christian was attentive and friendly. Best of all, we all had a wonderful time! We will definitely return!

Kendrick R — Google review
I recently visited the Baja Fruit restaurant for breakfast with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. We were excited to try it based on the reviews we had seen. However, our experience was highly disappointing. Firstly, as someone who rarely gets the opportunity to enjoy authentic chilaquiles in the US, I was looking forward to trying the original recipe with tortillas. Unfortunately, the restaurant used regular chips instead, which was a major letdown. Moreover, I specifically asked the waiter for fried eggs that were turned over but still soft inside. This request was not met, and my eggs were served sunny side up. I even inquired about getting them replaced, but was informed that it wasn't possible. Instead, I was offered the option to add two more eggs to my order at an extra cost. Despite agreeing to this, the additional eggs never arrived. As time passed, my food grew cold and I became increasingly frustrated. After waiting for 20 minutes, I decided to cancel the eggs and requested the check. Additionally, the service provided by the servers was absolutely awful. Throughout my entire meal, not once did a waiter come to my table to provide updates on the status of my food or to inform me about what was happening. The lack of communication and attention from the waitstaff only added to the overall frustration and disappointment of the dining experience. Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant due to the lack of service and the disappointing food experience. However, I must mention that the natural juices were the only highlight of my visit. Therefore, I am giving the restaurant a two-star rating solely for the quality of the juices.

WOW! They are practicing excellent COVID-19 safe protocols, the tables are correctly distanced, EVERY single employee was appropriately masked and gloved, they use paper menus for disposal, hand sanitizer and temp. check before allowed entry, they are on top of COVID-19. Husband ordered chilequiles rojo and I verde. OUTSTANDING! Chilequiles is an all time favorite of ours. We have travelled via motorhome most all of Mexico including the Baja and this is the VERY BEST CHILEQUILES we have had since we started RVing Mexico in 2012! From the chips being warm before putting HOMEMADE salsa, to eggs PERFECTLY cooked over medium. I mean PERFECT! None of the white was runny and the yolks were runny. So delicious, every bite. We will return to try other foods and will definitely return for chilequiles! OUTSTANDING!😁

The restaurant also features unique local craft beers with rock and roll-themed names to help you choose your favorite brew.
A very clean place with an atmosphere to match. The food was delicious and presented very well. It was my first visit and I will be back, not only to try more offerings from the menu but to try more of the local craft beer (My F*cking beer) they serve there. The beer names are based on rock and roll genres to help you make a choice if you can't decide on a type of beer you may prefer. Don't miss this place on your next trip to Ensenada!

What a wonderful experience we had! Everybody loves their dishes! Started with the mushrooms, margaritas, beer then onto dinner. The brochettes were amazing!!!!! Octopus was so tender and delicious! My daughter's hamburger and fries were so tasty. Nana & Grandpa had the combination (taco, chile relleno & enchilada) which they both loved! We were even treated to a beautiful flaming coffee drinks. Thank you for an amazing dinner!

During my recent adventure, I had the pleasure of visiting Deli Loop, a charming spot that has quickly become a favorite among locals and travelers alike. This spacious venue offers a vibrant atmosphere where you can enjoy your meal in-house or grab something to go. With options ranging from delicious Panini sandwiches to freshly baked pastries, there's something for everyone. The staff is accommodating and eager to customize orders, making it easy even for those with language barriers.
Super tasty! I got the basil, artichoke and goat cheese sandwich and added Turkey. It was really good. As well as the mocha frappe with almond milk 🤤 Good food, fast, good coffee and great place to work or chat.

I've been buying from this place for over 2 months without issues. However, for the fist time I've had the worst experience. I purchased 3 sandwiches, #9, #6, and #8. #8 was ordered with Avocado but they did not put the avocado. #9 and #8 had so little meat that it was obvious that something was wrong. I went back to the store and presented them the problem. They denied anything was wrong and refused to fix the problem. I talked with the manager who had the same response. I then simply returned my order and got my money back. Take a look at this pastrami, it has almost no meat in it.
Sarkis S — Google review
Very nice and clean coffee shop, prices are reasonable and pastries are tasty. Their restrooms are clean. Their chairs are not that comfortable but they have a few sofas to relax. Ordered a mocha Frappuccino and a slice of cheesecake both were very tasty.
Samara B — Google review
It feels like you're in SoCal...you can decide whether that's good or bad. It's loud and minimalistic but the bread is made in house, the wine is excellent, as is the beer on tap and in bottles. Super clean and festive. If this hits with you, you'll love it. Wine was between 120 and 150 pesos...exceptionally good price for the quality. Across the street from the beach. And an unusually high percentage of women to men.

The Deli Loop in Ensenada is a sleek and highly modern cafe-restaurant-bar. The sandwiches they serve are really quite tasty, and all the ingredients are very fresh. The coffee drinks, especially the lattes, are also very smooth and well-crafted. I loved the turkey and pesto sandwich and the vanilla latte I had. They also seem to serve a decent array of wine and beers. Nice atmosphere and service as well. I recommend trying it out when you’re in town.
Christopher G — Google review
Great place to stop for a quick bite or a delicious coffee. The lattes are smooth and not overly sweet, compared to other coffee shops. Very modernist vibes. They seem to have a variety of deli and wines as well. If you are craving coffee and are thinking about stopping in Starbucks, please don't! Come here! You won't regret it.
Violeta B — Google review
I don’t expect red-carpet service, but I sure as hell expect common courtesy. If your employees can’t even manage a simple “good afternoon” and instead throw looks like I’m some beggar wasting their time, that’s not just rude — it’s pathetic. This isn’t the first time I’ve dealt with this nonsense, but let me make one thing crystal clear: it’s the last time you’ll ever see me walk through those doors.
Bobby G — Google review
Stopped by to pick up a quick lunch to go. The Deli Loop is a large space with an enjoyable atmosphere. People were eating in, taking out, working, and hanging out. They have a wine bar and a couple of relaxing seats to sit in and enjoy. I ordered the Panini Pavo (Turkey Panini). The lady taking my order allowed me to change it up a bit (different bread & cheese). Even though my Spanish isn't the best, she understood my request and made it happen for me. 🙏🏼💞 The wait wasn't long at all. When I sat down at my final destination to eat, the food was delicious. I would have loved to go back for another! 6.7.22 Edit: I stopped by again, to do some quick work. They were busier, so I sat out on the patio, which is right next to the road so you will get a lot of traffic noise. Be mindful if you need to take work calls, etc.

Santo Mitote Bistro Bar is a delightful spot that promises an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast or enjoying a lively evening, the atmosphere is always warm and inviting. The attentive staff ensures you feel right at home while savoring dishes like their flavorful chilaquiles or perfectly cooked salmon a la Veracruzana. Guests rave about the freshness of the ingredients and the deliciousness of every bite, complemented by live music that enhances your meal.
We had a fantastic dining experience! The live music by Dueto Samuray was a great touch, setting the tone for a wonderful evening while we waited for our food. The customer service was top-notch - our server was attentive, friendly, and kind. The food was absolutely delicious! Each bite was seasoned to perfection, and even the vegetables shone. I had the salmon a la Veracruzana which was cooked to a T - moist and full of flavor. We also loved the green rice, which was packed with flavor and had just the right amount of spice. My husband and dad thoroughly enjoyed the Parrillada for two, and it was more than enough to satisfy their appetites. This generous platter came with an impressive array of goodies, including tender meat, flaky salmon, succulent shrimp, quesadillas, flavorful rice, beans, creamy guacamole, warm tortillas, grilled corn on the cob, cebollitas, and chiles. A hearty and satisfying meal that's perfect for sharing! Highly recommend!

We went and had breakfast at Santo Mitote. The restaurant is small but refined. The food was good. And the prices were very reasonable, $22 dollars breakfast for two people. They have a bar lounge upstairs overlooking Ensenada beach. It's pretty nice.

Came here for breakfast with the family and had a great experience! The restaurant was clean, organized, and had a welcoming vibe. Our server was incredibly attentive and kind throughout our meal. I ordered the chilaquiles, and they were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The café de olla was also amazing, exactly how I like it! Everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavor. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but totally worth it. Highly recommend!

2-stars. I ordered the Arrachera queso tacos. I am not the type of guy that really minds if food is a little greasy. But this was ridiculous. Regarding timing, there were only three other tables in the restaurant and it took an unbelievably long amount of time. I have no idea what could've taken so long until the food arrived. And then I realized they needed to make sure that they cooked the thin meat for 20 minutes before they sent it out. It was dry and super greasy at the same time. The meat was dry and there was oil pouring off of the tacos. I literally probably got a tablespoon of oil off of the three of them. And that's no exaggeration. And there was no flavor at all. As a famous chef said to me, "salt and pepper are your friends". These were just tremendously bland. It did come with pickled onions and minced tomato and white onions. I was absolutely starving so I ate two of them. I took the third to go but I have no idea what I'm going to do with it. There's a nice cat in our neighborhood. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, and maybe if I ordered something else it would've been better. It was extremely clean and it had a very nice atmosphere. The tables were set nicely and they had nice napkins. Even with so few tables, I couldn't get anyone to make eye contact with me to talk with them about this, and I tried.

We order the Mexican combination which was very tasty, For myself I order the menudo, it was a big size plate but it didn't have a good flavor. I loved their Jamaica and the guacamole there were good. The servers were not very friendly they lacked charisma. I have to agree that it's a beautiful place, and clean. Do you want a nice hidden place in Ensenada? Visit La Casita. It's a breakfast place. I ordered a Viking omelette. My wife ordered a nopales omelette. Both were very good. Viking had carne asada about three eggs. It had chorizo green and red. Beans and hash browns. My only complain is that flour tortillas order consisted of ONE tortilla. Note that avocado was day before, so it didn't taste well. TRY the green salsa.

San Miguel Restaurante & wedding venue, located in Valle de Guadalupe, is helmed by talented chef Alfredo Villanueva, originally from Monterrey. Known for his inventive approach to cooking and skillful execution of dishes that are both uncomplicated and visually appealing, Villanueva has quickly made a name for himself in the region. The restaurant's charming outdoor patio is attached to the Santo Tomas winery in San Antonio and offers a warm and inviting atmosphere.
This was a great find on our way back up to San Diego! The view just beyond the grass is amazing, and of all the breakfasts we had during our Baja trip, this topped the list. We visited on a Monday and almost had the place to ourselves. Our waiter spoke decent English and was very forgiving of our broken Spanish. If you're coming north from Ensenada back towards T.J., this is your breakfast stop.

Wonderful breakfast with a beautiful ocean view. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Chilaquiles especial was delicious and full of meat, eggs and beans. Our omelet was plentiful with house-made chorizo and salsa. They servers were attentive and the coffee was tasty. Highly recommended for breakfast.

I have to give it a three for this reason our server was a young kid. He was good. He brought coffee without even asking us. We assumed it was on the house. Well, turns out they charge me for it, $60pesos, even though I didn’t ask for it I couldn’t believe that and the food was good, but I asked for my eggs over easy and they did not come that way Whether they would replace it or not. I doubt it because of the coffee experience. But it’s a real nice place, nice view. The young kid server was good and the food wasn’t bad a little pricey.

Phenomenal Mexican eatery, a few kilometers north of Ensenada, and absolutely worth the trip! The food is authentic Mexican fare, with a modern touch. I hate to leave bad reviews because I’ve worked in restaurants. But… yeah this one was really bad. First, the positives: the grounds and venue are gorgeous - big beautiful garden, old-Mexico style hacienda. And plenty of parking. The negatives: pretty much everything else. Service: terrible. We had a couple people with food allergies who made requests and they were not honored. They had to send their food back. My partner and I didn’t have place settings at our table and we had to ask multiple times. Our group was three tables and one of the other tables was completely done eating before we even got our food. At many restaurants I’d chalk it up to lack of experience with big groups, but this place is literally a wedding venue. They should be experts at large groups. Food: also terrible. Our meals came with a free bowl of tortilla soup. It didn’t taste like anything and wasn’t hot. My meal was a steak, enchilada, rice, beans and guacamole. The steak was absolutely cooked to death. Like you could barely cut it. It also somehow tasted fishy. The enchilada, like the soup, didn’t really taste like anything. Vaguely tomatoey. The rice was terrible - tasted like something from a package mix like rice-a-roni and was very wet. The guacamole didn’t taste like anything. The beans were at least edible. Ambiance: the landscapers were there and some kind of renovation is going on during the day, during normal operating hours. The noise was super annoying. Price: very high for the quality. The food at Los Globos market is 200x better. And 1/4 the price. Hell, the food we improvise from donations at the homeless shelter we volunteer at is better than what we paid about $500 MXN per person for here. Overall: beautiful venue, would be a beautiful place to have a wedding. But bring your own catering and servers.

We stopped by for breakfast. It has a very nice garden and decor. Amazing service. We ordered huevos a la mexicana, camarón and pulpo omelette and atun deshumado. All three dishes were superb. First things first. The place it’s very clean and pretty. The coffee bar very good. The problem comes with the kitchen service. Very, very, slow. Not too many customers at this point. Some just drinking coffee and relaxing. I had to get up and ask the girl in the coffee bar for our order. We were just 3 persons for breakfast. We know the pandemic has affected areas in the hospitality industry but still unacceptable. If you are very hungry or short in time it’s not recommended.

Superb coffee with beans from Chiapas. The cortado was well balanced, and the baristas had no problem discussing with me in my broken Spanish about their process. Would highly recommend stopping here.

I stopped here on a recent motorcycle trip from Colorado, USA. I had a delicious drip coffee and pastry. The (owner?) stopped by and assured me that even though I was American 😜, I would enjoy the Mexican medium roast coffee. She was right! I wish I had gotten more info on the coffee and/ or region they get their coffee from. Please vist this business if you are visiting Ensenada.

Tasty delicious. Great service. Great location. Quick, simple, & perfecto. the young lady who took care of us was very sweet & made a wonderful (two) cups of coffee. A cold brew latte & a hot latte. I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time & im so glad I was able too. It was nice & strong; just what I needed. Can’t wait to come back to it.

Best latte to go in town (and I try to go to newer places just to keep this statement true). You will get fast service and the prices are great too (we kinda made an experiment timing and testing all around the city, you will get your beverage in 3 minutes) They will even make a you a nice foam drawing even if it is covered by the lid. Beware: take out orders only.

Carnitas Hermanos Ramirez, a small eatery near Ensenada, Mexico, offers authentic and delicious Mexican fast food. Known for their pork rinds (chicharon), this joint serves up crispy skin and meat that could use more juicy fat for an even better experience. The local vibe adds to the charm as you eat where the locals do, immersing yourself in the true flavors of Mexico. The option to choose between lean servings or those with fats caters to different preferences.
Hey, cruise ship passengers!! Go to this place for some awesome carnitas tacos. They do one thing,,,, carnitas. I gave the food 5 stars because I love carnitas and they did it well. Their tacos are good-sized. I'm an eater, and 3 tacos is more than satisfying. At the time of this entry, the tacos were about $2 each. Their English is not great, but no problem since they have a simple menu. If given a choice, get the mixed carnitas. "Just meat" is good, but not nearly as flavorful. This place is off the beaten path, but a very easy walk from the main shopping street. I've done the walk with my family and I felt safe walking with them. The seating is in an open patio, so some people waljed through and asked for money while I sat there, but they moved along quickly. They provide a tray of salsa choices and lime and one of the times, gave pork rinds (chicharones) as a snack. It is all delicious. Especially if you like spicy. Take the walk..... you won't be disappointed.
Trooper S — Google review
Carnitas Hermanos Ramírez in Ensenada is easily one of my favorite spots. The carnitas are insanely good, juicy, tender, and packed with flavor that keeps you going back for another bite. You can tell they know exactly what they’re doing, because the meat comes out perfect every time. I also have to shout out the tortillas and salsas. Fresh, flavorful, and they pair perfectly with the carnitas. I made myself a few tacos and every single one was better than the last. The frijoles and sides just round everything out and make the whole meal feel complete. The place has a simple, authentic vibe. It’s clean, the service is quick, and the people running it are welcoming. If you’re in Ensenada and want legit carnitas, this is the spot. I left full and happy and I’m already thinking about when I can come back.

Local experience. U eat where local eat what local eat. Couldn’t be happier. Ask for with fats for richer one. Otherwise you could gi for lean serving. Paid 12$ for 2 pax. Having 4 carnitas each. * not for tourist with weak stomach though.

best carnitas I had in Ensenada, every time we go down to Ense. we make a stop here and some times we even bring some back home to San Bernardino CA...
Angel C — Google review
Best Carnitas I've had in Ensenada, so far. This place serves all kinds of fried pork specialities, the pork gut taco (Buche) and fried pork skin (chicharrón) is particularly delicious, Salsas are fresh and the whole place, although in the style of a curb-side taco joint, is spotless clean. For the full experience, do have your tacos standing on the taco bar, and order them one by one right there and then. If having tacos with family or friends, I recommend getting a full order, which comes with the pork served separately and tortillas in another place, otherwise the tortillas get al soggy and break apart. Which is normal and expected. Most delicious. Will come back here often.

El Taco de Huitzilopochtli is a family-run eatery that offers delectable cuisine and exceptional customer service. Their menu boasts an array of mouthwatering options, including handcrafted agua frescas that are simply irresistible. If you have a penchant for Mexican cheese, their quesatacos and quesadillas are a must-try. The only drawback is the lack of spicy salsas for those who prefer a bit of heat.

Luz de Luna Terraza offers superb and fantastic service in a cozy setting. Although the establishment may be compact, it provides the perfect ambiance. The prices are unbeatable, especially considering the exceptional quality of their freshly cooked food. A delightful bonus is that they provide cupcakes upon arrival to satisfy any hunger pangs.
A trully amazing, hidden gem of the Ensenada breakfast scene. The food quality and plating shows high-end touches at a fraction of the cost. I would eat here daily if I could. Service is outstanding.

Holy moly, this place was phenomenal! From the rich, aromatic café de olla to the perfectly cooked arrachera on my chilaquiles, every bite was a revelation. The chimichurri on the potatoes was a flawless addition bursting with flavor and expertly balanced. How many stars?? Please read until the end of my review! This is a long one. We usually cross check the places between Yelp & Google… Unfortunately, I couldn’t find this place on Yelp and decided to take leap of faith and go for it 😂. I’m glad we did. Super cute place on top street stores. Their fresh-out-of-the-oven bread smelled amazing, and like most of the good breakfast places in Mexico, the juice was great. Now for the food, plating like the restaurant is very cute. The french toast, while fresh, it was missing more of the egg mixture. Perhaps a risky move when using Brioche for french toast, so not the best choice today. It definitely needed improvement. Chilaquiles were good. I’m glad that I got the steak with it. The meat was delicious. I like my chilaquiles sauce to be a little denser but that’s just my personal choice. I have to say the chilaquiles saved the day, otherwise if I had to go with french toast alone I would hardly give them 4 stars. Now, the main question is, how many stars should they get 🤔… While the ambiance and staff are 5 stars the food is more like 4 stars and overall I’d like to give them 4.3-4.5 stars but there is no option for that. So I’ll round it up and give them 5 with the hope that they take the constructive feedback and improve. I’ll be back in the next 6 months and give it another shot and revisit my rating😉

Little breakfast spot away from the touristy mayhem. The only place we have breakfast when in town. The food, atmosphere, and service are exceptional. Simple menu, can’t go wrong with anything you order. My recommendation is the Mexicana. It comes with chilaquiles, machaca, eggs, beans, and potatoes. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I was worried about posting this because some times the hidden gems get to much exposure and it ruins the experience. But this place I have to share about. An unforgettable experience not just a meal, but art on a plate. Escama isn’t just a café. It’s a masterpiece. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The service is absolutely top-tier attentive without being overbearing, and the staff clearly love what they do. You can feel the care in every interaction, and it creates a beautiful atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. The food? Next level. Every dish is like edible art visually stunning, perfectly balanced, and packed with flavor. Whether it’s the Moroccan mushroom hummus, the smoked tuna focaccia, the French Panoso, or their creative juices and matcha lattes, every bite tells a story. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are bold, and you can feel the chef’s passion behind each plate. Even the drinks at the coffee bar are crafted with love. From the herbal teas to the house-made chai and specialty espresso tonics, everything is intentional and beautifully presented. This place is a true gem. If you’re stopping in Ensenada Escama is an absolute must. It’s not just about eating. It’s about being nourished, creatively inspired, and taken care of by some truly incredible humans. 10/10. Can’t wait to come back.

100% recommended. A small outdoor patio of an old classic house reconverted into a breakfast place. One of the owners is an architect and you can see it in some design solutions like the house shaped structure in black where the bar is. Coming to Célida was a recommendation from a local connoisseur. I really enjoyed the meal and the ambience, and my only complaint would be the portion of the tlacoyos (even when they came with machaca). Breggfast Restaurante is a delightful surprise for anyone seeking more than just a quick breakfast. The establishment prides itself on using high-quality ingredients, which are beautifully presented and served with genuine care. You’ll feel like you’re being treated as family rather than just another customer, thanks to the enthusiastic staff who seem to genuinely enjoy sharing their culinary talents. Coffee lovers will appreciate the full coffee bar, with standout options like the lavender mocha that keeps patrons coming back for more.
The quality of ingredients, their presentation, and the service provided greatly exceeded any expectations I had for a "quick, simple, breakfast." I left feeling like I was cared for, that quality of food is reserved for loved ones. None of the employees were "at work" they were happily sharing their talents with whomever is so lucky to have walked through the door. I woke up this morning and thought of the experience I had at this restaurant with a genuine feeling of gratitude for people who love what they do.

Even when having a decent place and location, the order took over 50 minutes to arrive. People arriving after were served before, no first un first serve? The food has pretty good presentation and flavor, excessive waiting times just ruin the experience.

If you like can salsa with cherry tomatoes for disguise on your bistec rancheros and chilaquiles …this is your place. The bistecs rancheros were awful, it looked like just thick tomatoe sauce we couldn’t even find the meat. If you want authentic food, stay away from this place. Another thing, fruit salad took like 40 minutes to make and the fruit was dry. Coffee was weak and refill took long.
Mary S — Google review
Food was ok. Customer service could improve by a lot. My husband and I got there a whole hour before they closed and we were denied to sit in a table and were force to sit in an unwanted part Of the restaurant. Server was rushing us to order and were limited to items on the menu due to them closing in a whole hour. We will definitely not be returning.
Adilene C — Google review
Good options on menu but, a bit of a mix feelings about coming back. Ordered eggs Benedict, egg well done or over cooked, chef used Gravy instead of Hollandaise sauce? very disappointing as this represented a totally different dish, not necessarily eggs benedict. My friend ordered a simple Mexican dish, Chilaquiles, how could you possibly mess this up? Yes they did, he could not finish the dish as it didn't look good from the beginning. I do Understand Mexican fusion, but on some dishes, I really didn't know what customers were eating. Service was very slow, but friendly staff.

Las Parrillas is a delightful gem that captures the essence of home-cooked Mexican cuisine. With its inviting atmosphere, it feels like a cozy gathering spot where everyone knows your name. The menu features standout dishes such as the fresh chile relleno, which avoids the common pitfall of being overcooked and mushy. Their enmoladas are generously filled with chicken and topped with a rich mole sauce that strikes the perfect balance without being too heavy.
Lunch was delicious and reasonably priced. This is home cooking/cafe food at its best. Chile relleno was fresh - with the chile NOT overcooked mush like so many places where the chiles are cooked ahead and held until needed - when it eats as soft/mushy. The enmoladas - with chicken were stuffed full of meat draped in a lovely thick (but not stodgy) mole. The real star of the meal was the cafe de olla - just enough cinnamon, orange and piloncillo to make it rich and aromatic. Que Rico!

The server was awesome the place has a play area that is very nice but the food humm that is a different story, the tampiqueña is very good I'll give it an 8. The pasta I'll give it an 8. The tacos de papa weren't eatable those a 3, the sopes lacked flavor I'll give it a 6 and the sinaloa pork grinds 8. Everything is over priced in my opinion but if your a tourist and are used to hamburgers and pizzas you are going to like it but if you want something more gourmet for the same price they are better options for the same or cheaper price.

The mocha here is highly recommended, as it's considered one of the best ever tried. The food is also delicious, with options like green chilaquiles, arrachera, and chai sucio making for a perfect combination.
Must go to for breakfast in El Valle. We started with coffee, is the best I’ve had in El Valle. NOT the usual burnt coffee taste from overly roasted beans. To eat we ordered Prosciutto pesto toast (see pic), French toast with a lemon cream, chicharron omelette and hotcakes with egg and bacon. Everything was delicious. The place is a small house, next to a vineyard. Everything was 100% food, coffee, ambience and service!

This is THE place to start your day before going to all the wineries. The place is nvery nice, the staff attentive and the food not only delicious but comes out really fast! The corn waffles and the enmoladas ( add an egg) were highlights and would strongly recommend. Their lattes were excellent and enjoyable even with the desert heat.

I love this place!!!! Hands down the quality of the food is fantastic. We had breakfast here included with our air BnB stay. Pierre was the primary Restraunt host, he’s bilingual, very friendly and congenial. The food is delicious, the coffee and the chai are top notch, and the atmosphere is beautiful. They have a lovely winery dog who is super adorable. Overall this is a fantastic stop over. Pierre’s mother went above and beyond for me as well. I needed to purchase a bottle of Merlot before heading back to the States and I hadn’t yet. She ran next door to the winery they own and brought one over for me. Very gracious of her to do so. This is a fantastic establishment and you should absolutely visit. The flavors and the people here are amazing!

Stumbled upon this place after refusing to wait in a very long, long line at Doña Estela's restaurant, and it felt like it was meant to be. The ambience was a true Valle de Guadalupe feel, surrounded by vineyard and wonderful staff. They were ALL super amazing and attentive. Their mocha is a must! It was by far the best I have EVER tried. Starbucks is nowhere near it. And their food! Omg, very very delicious! Definitely, definitely stop by! You won't regret it.

We were looking for a place to have breakfast since our first options were full, and...... WHAT A WONDERFUL SURPRISE !!!! Green chilaquiles , with egg, arrachera and CHAI SUCIO, such a perfect combination , Small but super comfy place , don't look for more and stop here .

Great small and unassuming little place for a bite to eat and a delicious coffee. My wife and I stopped by for a late breakfast and we were immediately seated and taken care of. The menu is on the smaller side but to me that is a bonus, the options they give you are all done well so you really can't make a wrong choice. Ended up going with a classic latte and the chilaquiles rojo. Both excellent, I ended up ordering a second latte. Would definitely recommend if you'd like a small peaceful place to grab some food.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Fish & Chips Ensenada. This charming eatery offers a cozy atmosphere with outdoor seating, making it perfect for enjoying your meal in the fresh air. The menu features an array of flavorsome fish options alongside crispy fries and coleslaw that many rave about. The friendly owners are fluent in English and provide exceptional service, ensuring you feel right at home.
I was walking from downtown Ensenada heading towards Playa Hermosa and I saw the place and I thought oh I have to try it cause I was craving it. Martha was working there, very nice everything she told me was homemade which the French fries you could tell fresh potato I like a more crispy but they were good and they weren’t greasy and the fish was good. Four big pieces. I could only eat two and took the other two home and at home use the air fryer they were still good. I recommend they do also have a breakfast which I wanna try because they have French toast maybe next time

Cool little food spot with decent food, outdoor seating, and great service. The fish and chips were good, the fish coming in a few flavors. I especially liked the coleslaw. The burger was flavorful, though the patty was a little dry. Overall a solid place for a tasty bite.

Fantastic Fish & Chips. The owner speaks very good English. She was very helpful. The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. They even have London Pub, malt vinegar if you desire..friendly and very helpful. I would definately eat here again. Gracias🇦🇺

I can't eat at a restaurant that won't offer a free "vaso de agua" to their customers. 20L garrafon (jug of water) is 12 pesos? If they go to that extent to make money, which other corner do they cut short?

Awesome hamburguesa pescado (and the fries were great too!)! I have a feeling that all the food here is excellent.
