Plaza Cívica de la Patria, also known as Ensenada's central square, is a vibrant and historically significant public space that attracts both locals and tourists. The plaza features busts of important Mexican historical figures and hosts cultural musicians, creating a lively atmosphere. It's an ideal place to shop for unique souvenirs and gifts. This iconic gathering spot serves as the heart of the city, hosting various civic events and celebrations.
Or also called the Plaza de las 3 Cabezas. A good public place to take a walk and explore shops and street vendors around.
Yinzú N — Google review
absolutely beautiful place to walk through, has so many amazing things to see and read, be careful there is a bee area that is clearly marked where bees inhabit, but other than that, beautiful
Claritza S — Google review
Plaza Cívica de la Patria, a prominent public square located in [please specify the city or country], is a remarkable place that holds great historical and cultural significance. My visit to this square left a lasting impression, and I'm excited to share my thoughts in this review. The plaza, known as "Plaza Cívica de la Patria," is an iconic gathering spot that serves as the heart of the city and a focal point for numerous civic events and celebrations. Its name alone conveys a sense of patriotism and national pride, setting the stage for the experiences one can expect here. One of the most striking features of the plaza is its grand architecture and design. The square is often adorned with statues, monuments, and sculptures that pay tribute to the nation's heroes and pivotal historical events. These artistic elements not only add to the visual appeal of the plaza but also serve as educational pieces, providing visitors with insights into the country's past and the individuals who played vital roles in shaping its history. The ambiance of Plaza Cívica de la Patria is truly captivating. As a visitor, you can't help but feel a sense of reverence and appreciation for the nation's heritage as you stroll through this spacious square. The open layout allows for a comfortable flow of foot traffic, making it an ideal place for both solitary reflection and community gatherings. I particularly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere during local festivals and national holidays, where the plaza comes alive with music, dancing, and a true sense of unity among the people. Furthermore, the plaza often hosts cultural events, exhibitions, and open-air performances, making it a dynamic center for the arts. Whether it's a live music concert, a dance performance, or an art fair, Plaza Cívica de la Patria offers a platform for artists and creatives to showcase their talents and engage with the public. This cultural vibrancy contributes significantly to the plaza's overall appeal. The surrounding area of the plaza is well-maintained, with ample seating, well-kept gardens, and recreational spaces, providing a peaceful setting for relaxation or a leisurely picnic. It's also common to find street vendors offering local snacks and refreshments, allowing you to savor some traditional flavors while taking in the scenery. In conclusion, Plaza Cívica de la Patria is more than just a public square; it's a symbolic and cultural hub that encapsulates the essence of the nation it represents. Its rich history, architectural beauty, and dynamic atmosphere make it a must-visit for tourists and a cherished gathering place for locals. Whether you're interested in history, culture, or simply enjoying the outdoors, this plaza has something to offer for everyone. It's a place where you can connect with the soul of the city and the spirit of the country, making it a memorable and enriching experience.
William W — Google review
Definitely a great place to visit if you are visiting Ensenada! It's full of tourist so there are many great places to eat and find pretty much anything you need since there are plenty of different vendors. You can hop on tours from there to the Buffadora or take city tours as well.
Claudia C — Google review
I walked here from playa hermosa. The last time I saw the heads was when I was a kid. That was back in 1989. I think having a memorial that honors service members and people who have fought for their country is extremely important and awesome. That massive flag is equally amazing.

I had a good time out with my family just walking around and looking at the mini shops that were set up in this area. We had a pretty good time

National park
Nestled in an elevated residential area, Cañon de Doña Petra Ecological Park is a sought-after destination in Ensenada, offering stunning vistas of the city and Baja California's coastline. The park boasts a network of well-maintained trails suitable for walking, hiking, and mountain biking. Visitors can unwind with a book or partake in outdoor activities amidst picturesque surroundings.
I just went to this park on a Tuesday afternoon and it was really nice and absolutely no trash anywhere. The trails are well groomed for bikes or walking and a playground for kids amoung the trees. The parking lot landscaping was all new and looks really nice. It was great.
Brandy A — Google review
Great because there’s a lot of nature, but sadly there’s a little bit of trash in the park. But there’s a nice playground for children. And it’s close to the town.
Pauline B — Google review
Great place for mountain biking, hiking and exploring. Get out and walk.
Ruben E — Google review
Great place to enjoy a beautiful view and work out ☺️☺️
Speedemon97 — Google review
Sorry to say it but this place stinks like sewer all along the trail(s). There are portions of the trail that cross the very-polluted stream and you will eventually get it on your shoes or clothes. Nasty place. That said, if you can stand the smell there are lots of birds there if you're looking to do some bird watching. I was expecting an oasis and it doesn't remotely approach that expectation. I don't know where people are getting the idea of "beauty" here...
Jonathan C — Google review
The Canyon was once a pristine and thriving environment but it's become a nightmare with thousands of gallons of raw sewage being dumped into every day. Sewage that is coming from the community Los Encino's located at the end of Ruiz Ave, just across the street from an OXXO store and behind some small stores. The stream it runs down is the Arroyo Ensenada which runs into the ocean next to where the Cruise Ships dock.
Vaughn R — Google review
A natural beautiful place pretty near Ensenada downtown. A lot of green, different bird species. It seems it used to be a restaurant or something like that but that building is absolutely a mess.

Beach
Malecón de Playa Hermosa is a charming seaside area in Ensenada, offering last-minute souvenir shopping and a variety of authentic local and international cuisine options. The location also features parks with playgrounds for children to enjoy. Visitors can take part in activities such as horseback riding during sunset, while dogs are welcome to join the fun. The area is well-maintained and offers free parking, making it convenient for visitors.
Stopped at play hermosa, and it was Hermosa! Vendors pass by once in a while, we did horse back riding during sunset, doggies are welcomed, the little palm umbrellas are free to use, you can take you’re own food, it was clean, free parking and the sunset location is perfect. it was just lovely
Blanca G — Google review
You can tell they try and keep it clean but always keep an eye out. Some broken glass and some trash but not terrible. Does get busy. Enough vendors to get some snacks or set up chairs and shade. Law enforcement/military pass through. Surf was decent. Good for beginners.
Andres O — Google review
This beach is the most polluted beach in Mexico and has a high bacteria content because of the sewage in the water. The Ensenada government has closed down the beach. The public beach is fenced off at the Malecon but just south of it people still try to get in even though of all the warnings. Please do not be fooled by the locals who go in the beach and ignore the warnings. Do not go in the water you will get sick. If you do your research and read the news articles you will see that it’s not good to go no matter what the locals tell you.
Louis R — Google review
Beautiful and well clean. You can't swim here but it's worth just coming to walk and feel the nice ocean breeze.

LOOKS nice from a Distance, Cearfull with broken glass from the bear blottles!, portable free w .c there can be disgusting. so be go to the paid w.c . there is a excercise section .Do not recommend going at night becuase of drunk anoying people with loud anoying music. some times water not apropied to go and take a swim, and some times strong currents so make shure you talk to the lifegards

Man!!! We had a great time at this place. Plenty of seafood options to eat and a variety of drink options too. I had the best michelada that I've had in my life here. People in Ensenada are the best! We got to meet the workers that prepared our drinks and now I'm just looking forward to going back hopefully soon.
Nery R — Google review
Wanted to try a different spot. We typically visit Rosarito Beach, this was a nice surprise. Came on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, there were people, but it was far from busy. I liked the available palapas, the showers, and the bathrooms (5 pesos). Parking was pretty easy and there are restaurants and convenient stores across the street (Oxxo). Disclaimer: this is Mexico, not Malibu. If you need everything sanitized and absurdly safe, stay north of the border. If you enjoy, the people, sites, and smells of Mexico - this is a good spot.

I was here on 12/23/19 this is similar to Santa Cruz Board walk lots of little shops for you to buy souvenirs and clothing. You can also get a boat ride around the bay (charge per hour)

Tara Garden is a serene spot featuring a striking sculpture of the Tibetan princess, Tara, surrounded by smaller sculptures. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Ensenada's bay area and city center. The garden offers a peaceful atmosphere for reflection and relaxation, with wheelchair accessibility. While the garden may require some upkeep, it is maintained by locals or nearby college students. The site also hosts events such as music performances and spiritual vendors.
A great place to do a quick stop and reflect take a deep breath energize in great vibes. The garden isn’t a big deal because use it needs upkeep and am sure the locals or college next doors keeps it up to date. Wheelchair accessible and stairs need some work. The people here are very friendly area is clean and anyone who visits needs to keep it that way. The overlook to the city of the end is very spectacular and nice air breeze. Respect and keep clean🔓it’s free to enjoy a moment and a photo op
Mr M — Google review
Nice statue. The view was beautiful. I could honestly see taking a lunch up and enjoying the views of the city. Not really any garden to speak of. Walking up into the lower section, new stairs were installed. However they were not done well. Ended up tripping and dropping a couple of things down into them. Only one young couple kissing and some strange man collecting things off the ground were there when I visited. The statute is something to see, but their are better views of the city elsewhere.
Rob S — Google review
This is a great place to visit if you want to take in the city and Zen it out. There’s benches at the top where you can sit and see the city and take great photos. Free to visit, no wait, and parking available on the streets. Something I want to mention is that there’s descriptions on this piece of great art on the side. This place reminds us that we have to focus on our breath even during the most stressful times and allow our thoughts to be thoughts and not get involved or too carried away with them. I think that sends a great message with the location and the view of the city.
Julian — Google review
The street drive up this hill is full of potholes. Be aware there is limited parking too. OKAY, it's a great place to visit and stay awhile; and the information is all explained in English and Spanish. Go on a clear day, photo opps. Walk in peace.
Jay N — Google review
Interesting, good pictures, excellent sght and history.

The statue is amazing the the serenity that surrounds it is beyond relaxing. The garden is no longer there which is disappointing but it was still worth watching. It all looks abandoned so don't be shocked when you show up.

Visiting Flyers Trampoline Park is an excellent opportunity to bond with loved ones while staying active. Whether you prefer jumping or doing flips on trampolines, this venue has it all. Their spacious jumping area, complete with safety nets and a foam pool, caters to both adults and children. It's the perfect destination for families as parents can explore different sections of the bounce park while their kids have a blast.
Great place for the kiddies! The parents can go to the different areas in the bounce park. They had a deal where you get 2hrs and a small pizza for around $10 for each person that wants to bounce. I’ve been to a lot of places in Mexico even hospitals that didn’t have clean bathrooms with soap. This place had decent bathrooms. Overall we all had fun!
Daniel S — Google review
I am sad to be writing a bad review of this place. My family loves coming here every time we visit Ensenada. We won't be coming back again. They closed many of the attractions in order to charge extra for laser tag, but they did not reduce the price for jumping. They are asking 259 pesos for two hours of jumping (which is pretty high for the area prices). Then, they told my kids that their nonslip socks weren't good enough because they don't say flyers (they were from Sky Zone). Even in America, we are not forced to purchase brand specific socks. In fact, my kids used their flyers socks in the US. It's safe so who even cares?! This was a crazy money grab after we already were disappointed in the jumping. They wouldn't return my entry fees until I insisted and spoke to someone in authority. Save your money and do something way more fun.
Rachel H — Google review
Very fun and affordable trampoline park. The facility is fairly large, equipment well kept and safe, and the staff are friendly (not sure if any can speak English, though, some might). Plenty for both parents and kids to enjoy. UPDATE as of 11/24/2022 My rating remains the same. Still fun and affordable. It's $199 MXP (~$10 USD) per person for 2 hour jump and also includes personal pizza! Drinks are still extra. The facility has been updated to include several VR arcades, wall/rock climbing, and a laser tag arena called Zniper. This place also offers birthday and party venues, something I failed to mention in my original review. There's plenty of seating for parents or non-jumpers.
Atypical D — Google review
Kids had a blast. The place was clean. Has area for the small and big kids.
Daniel Q — Google review
Great birthday party option for kids. Seems organized and clean. Could use beer options for parents and a serious air condition upgrade. Our son was dripping wet in sweat after 10 minutes. Front desk staff was polite. Some of the staff in the play zones were a bit young and seemed to gossip about guests more than they were working but that’s expected with young workers. Overall a great way to entertain kids but very boring for parents.
AJ C — Google review
Great place for kids. Staff was friendly. Just beware of your children being left alone. There was a man walking around and secretly recording the children while they were jumping. I watched him for several minutes so see if he was recording anyone in particular and he was not, he would walk around from one area to another and stand in one spot and would record the children for a few minutes then move on to another spot. I confronted him about it and he immediately put his phone in his pocket and walked away. I alerted the staff and the manager kept an eye on him but he was not asked to leave because he was there with others. You can never be too careful with your kids. Always be vigilant.
Nad W — Google review
The staff unfortunately isn’t nice at all but the place is fun.
Maria — Google review
We have visited this place twice now and on both occasions our experience was positive, our kids had fun and more importantly, the kids left exhausted. :) . This place is well fitted for kids ages 3-15. They have a toddler kids play area that makes it more enjoyable and safer for the little ones (under age 5). There are basketball, soccer and dodgeball for the older kids to play. Overall the staff is very nice and the location is clean. I would definitely recommend this place to a family with younger kids. Guarantee that they will have fun along with taking out some of their energy. The pricing that I am posting on my pictures are from April 2, 2018. Enjoy and Stay Classy!

Zoo
Pai Pai Ecotourism Park is a sanctuary for big cat cubs in need of care and rehabilitation. The park offers guided tours that are tailored to the age groups of the cats, providing visitors with an opportunity to observe and learn about these majestic animals. In addition to big cats, the park is home to a diverse array of wildlife including tigers, jaguars, baby pigs, ostriches, deers, pythons, crocodiles and alligators.
Must do! Beautiful, clean Sanctuary. Educational. So many animals from capybara to hippopotamus! Touch a cobra, feed a giraffe, hold a baby goat or racoon or monkey etc., watch a 3 week old white tiger learn to walk, birds, a Bengal tiger, lions, a black panther, and so many more. PLUS you can zip line over the entire place! Reasonably priced. Allow at least 3 hours for your visit.
Terren G — Google review
This was really really a great place to take my nine-year-old daughter. We had so much fun together we zip line we had animal encounters with a jaguar and a monkey and it was not crowded at all. It was great! I plan on going again and I have definitely told others to go there as well. The reason I put four stars instead of five is cause the day that we went the water went out. Everyone was friendly.
Ms. L — Google review
We signed up to see this as we exited the cruise ship and took a shuttle downtown. Not sure it was worth the extra money. The kids liked the zip line but it was small and not a fancy one, just takes you over some animal enclosures. We did feed a raccoon and pet a cheetah (pretty sure it was drugged) because it could not stay awake or alert when we were in its enclosure. Besides petting the few animals the rest of the zoo was small and the animals didn’t seem to be taken care of very well. It was a little sad.
M C — Google review
Nice zoo, many exotic tiger, lion, and leopard that you can see up close. Be prepared to pay extra more activities same with all private zoos. Almost all the animals can be handled for a price...touching/feeding. Logistics from dt Ensenada is usually $20 to 30 per person round trip. Shuttle and taxis are not easy to track down.
Frank Z — Google review
Sunday Buffet was very good, staff very helpful. Extra treat was the visitation of the flora & fauna, and animals were included with Buffet. The park was beautifully landscaped. Will be back...
Bob B — Google review
My family and I were a bit apprehensive about our visit to Pai Pai, but I must say we were truly surprised. We had an opportunity to visit and interact with several of the animals on the property, however, our best experience was visiting with the Squirrel Monkeys and a "baby" leopard.
Noel G — Google review
We took 9 people it was $105 each. The shuttle was nice but this is very far from the port. Like a 45 minute drive. We had to catch the shuttle by 9 am and then leaving with the same shuttle by 2. 1 day stop on carnival was not enough, we did not want to miss seeing the rest of Ensenada. Anyway the shuttle will not leave any earlier to get you back to the port unless everyone is willing to go back. We were able to get 2 Ubers but they cancelled our 3rd this place is remote and they don’t have uber xl. 2 from our party had to stay behind to catch the shuttle. I even asked if we could pay extra to go back. Ok so that part is just so you are aware about that. The experience was amazing. It was a bummer that they have all the times scheduled out for you on things. We missed a couple of things we could have done no worries I didn’t want to see a snake anyway lol. The kids wanted to do the zip line but we couldn’t figure out how to get there. English is limited to a few staff. For the dream experience you don’t get to pet the little baby tigers that is an additional $35. This is honestly only a couple hour deal and it could be over quick if transportation wasn’t such an issue and the scheduled times. We were a large group the lemur experience was the absolute best of the whole experience! The monkey 🐒 experience was 2nd best. The 1 year old leopard was fun but the babies would have been fun to hold.
Amber T — Google review
This is an amazing experience, perfect for a cruise port day! Our tour guide Zade was super nice and made the whole thing very easy to navigate. If you want up close animal experiences, this is the place!

I had a great experience at this location, which is just a short walk from the cruise port. The nearby market is filled with souvenirs and local snacks, and the presence of police and security personnel nearby adds an extra sense of safety. The view of the seaside is stunning, overlooking the touring boats and leisure yards, making it a truly beautiful sight.

This was a really cute spot to go visit at night! They had a water fountain and a light show that was really cute and fun to watch. There were security guards, and once you got in the park there was not much to do besides the fountain cause all of the other restaurants looked closed around it.

Awsome time here .. you can take boat rides to sea the surrounding areas.. have some drinks at the local bars and eat at the fresh sea food restaurants that literally take the fish right out of the water while hearing live bands .. highly recommended

Very nice. Plenty of shops to find whatever your looking for. Clean and a nice place to visit when off the ship. No need to take the bus, its only a 10 minute walk. Sadly the worlds largest flag wasn't flying that day.

Pools & slides in a water theme park, plus camels, flamingos, turtles & a petting zoo.
I was not expecting such a great experience, definitely recommend the visit.

Fun distraction for the kiddos if you are in the area. Splash pad for toddlers and ~4 ft to 6 ft pool. I don’t believe the pool is heated but NOT super cold in 84 F weather. You have to pay extra for specific pool access. They sell snacks and drinks and have several playgrounds that we didn’t get a chance to go to. Perfect place to picnic. Best part is how close you are to the zoo animals. The tigers 🐅 played with each other the entire time we were watching them. Extra charge experiences are available like any other zoo. We spent about $80 for 4. I wasn’t expecting this area in Mexico to be cheap because of the vineyards and resorts.

So many things to do. Great place to spend time with family. Arriving early, during hot seasons, ensures you get good tables close to the pools. The pool seemed to get full pretty fast; Not to max capacity, but was pretty packed. Overall can be a great family day at the park, get wet and see some animals!
Chris J — Google review
Our son enjoyed this zoo and the animals! Very hot though and minimal shade when walking around. Visited an indoor temporary reptile exhibit, which cost MEX$10/person. We also rented a little car that we pushed for our son (MEX$25/hour). Many families there came with own food to grill and eat at picnic tables. When we went to buy food, the store told us there was none. We got a blended coffee and muffins (I think from Costco?). Kids under 2 years old are free. Parking was MEX$30. I think our entrance was MEX$240 for two adults. Not sure if pools /water park are extra. We did not attend those.

Capibaras are on an exclusive experience. can't see them just by paying the entry fee. Need to pay for a train ride which is very short. or pay for a visit guide which I could not make it to the last one of the day. The train one was good enough for my little ones. then they spent a couple of hours playing. was a good experience for the little ones.

Greatest zoo! Small but still offer many amenities. Has many animals that seem to be really taken care of. It also has a large park and water park. They sell ice cream, snacks, and coffees. Many picnic tables and clean restrooms. Must see for kids and all families when in the area!
Chelsy G — Google review
It's a great place to take your family. Good for a stroll and or barbecue. Animals cages and pens are kept very clean and tidy. Animals are well fed and you can have fun by feeding some of them. Clean bathrooms, souvenir shop, coffee shop and ice cream shop are some of the things that you can enjoy. 😷👍
Nicie D — Google review
This zoo is great for bringing the whole family! It has playgrounds with sand, clean restrooms, poolside spots, a lot of picnic space with included grills for you to use like if you're going to have some carne asada. The zoo is great it's very extensive and there's a wide variety of reptiles birds mammals and other. Be sure to bring a lot of sunscreen protection and maybe a umbrella to protect yourself from the sun because it is really hot around this part of the valley.

Food is good, variety for kids to play jump around and get tired.

The place is not safe for children, the staff is not fit for an emergency and it seems they hate their job. The playground equipment needs maintenance and is dirty. I got to witness an accident a desperate mother asked the manager for help her son had been hurt with a nail in his toe nail was bleeding 😔. The mother said that there were nails in a little house in the playground and she showed them in her hands. The manager was very indifferent and did not want to take his responsibility. I'll never come back here !!!!!!!!!!!!

Nestled in Baja California, Valle de los Cirios is a hidden treasure that captivates with its otherworldly landscapes. This expansive wildlife reserve showcases the iconic Cirio cactus, which stands tall like giant, upside-down carrots against the backdrop of stunning desert scenery. Adventurers can immerse themselves in outdoor activities such as hiking through ancient rock paintings or exploring the pristine Sonoran Desert filled with unique flora and fauna.
