1Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa

The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort And Spa is a tropical-garden beach resort located along the famous Kaanapali Beach. The resort offers outdoor pools, a day spa, and various water sports activities. With immediate beach access, an onsite luau, and a variety of eateries, it provides all the elements for an indulgent Hawaiian getaway. Guests can enjoy surprises like resident penguins and a rooftop astronomy program.
Rooms were beautiful and clean. Resort was very pretty and well maintained. Felt luxurious, and enjoyed the stay here. I liked the daily penguin presentation which they raise African penguins 🐧 which is a positive for these animals. Valet service was great and those guys were really nice during our trip. I would recommend staying here. My only knock is the location. This resort and many others located in this general area are clustered in a part of Maui that very far from a lot of the natural attractions...the hikes, road to Hana, etc. Regardless, great resort.

I love this property and its staff. Everyone- the gardeners, housekeeping, front desk, bellmen, everyone is so lovely and warm. There are some really unique features like the penguin colony and other beautiful exotic birds. The grounds are gorgeous and better kept than many properties. For those with club access, the club provides a nice refuge with cold and hot drinks all day and the staff in there is lovely, especially Miki and Jade. They make you feel so at home. Jeff (?) at the front desk who has worked there for 20 years is fabulous as well. It’s a longer walk to whalers village and other restaurants than many properties, and the beach in front really isn’t great, but the grounds and pools are beautiful! Will always come back, just be prepared to walk to a different beach.

We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to stay a night at a few hotels on Maui, and I have to say—so far, the Hyatt has them all beat, especially if you’re looking for a family-friendly resort! We have a two- and three-year-old, so while my husband checked us in, we hung out in the courtyard near the front desk and saw parrots, PENGUINS, and koi fish. Once we got to our room, it was modern, clean, and had an amazing partial ocean view (I’d argue it was full—maybe I’m just a glass-half-full kind of girl, haha). The couch in the room had a small tear with some metal sticking out, so I let housekeeping know, and they immediately moved us to another room for the kids’ safety. They were so kind and accommodating. Our new room had a full ocean view and was on the 8th floor—the view was incredible, though with toddlers I think I’ll go for a lower floor next time, haha. After settling in, we went down to the kids’ pool. My son (3) is usually nervous around water, so I was curious how he’d do. After only a few minutes, he was waist-deep, playing with the pebbles (yes, pebbles on the pool floor!) and exploring their little “tide pools.” He even got brave enough to go down the medium-sized slide! My daughter (2) was in heaven—she’s obsessed with swimming and water play, so she didn’t want to leave. The overall experience was amazing, and we’ll definitely be booking here again if and when we can! Huge thanks to the front desk, housekeeping, and staff for making it such a positive and memorable staycation.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Kim at the front desk started our trip off great with his friendly service and provided us with special honeymoon perks that made our trip even more memorable. The hotel is stunning. Many beautiful views and plants throughout the property. There is easy beach access to enjoy, but if that isn’t your vibe there are also multiple pools to choose from. Also has many convenient towel stations. We were able to witness many beautiful beach sunsets. A unforgettable vacation that we didn’t want to end.

My husband and I had a truly lovely stay at the Hyatt Regency in Kaanapali for our honeymoon. The service we received from the moment we pulled up to the valet was top notch. We had an ocean view room and enjoyed the beautiful views from our balcony. The amenities at the resort exceeded our expectations. We especially enjoyed renting a cabana for a day as a special treat….truly the most relaxing day! The location walking distance to Whaler’s Village and Lahaina made finding places to eat dinner a breeze. Highly recommend!
Stephanie H — Google review
This was our first Hawaii trip, and it was beautiful! Starting off with getting to the hotel. The valet service is easy and efficient. It is only a couple dollars more than self parking, and you get in and out privileges. In the mornings, it can take a couple minutes to get your car, so give yourself a little extra time. Check in was easy and they were super nice! The room we stayed in could have a better view, but it was comfortable and clean. Pillows are super soft, so bring your own if you like firmer pillows. Next, this hotel is gorgeous, has multiple pools/restaurants/shops, and right along the beach. There is a path you can walk to the shops - great post-dinner walk. They also have parrots displayed in the morning, their swan garden, and a penguin exhibit. Included in our hotel was the breakfast buffet, which was lovely! I would definitely stay here again! Mahalo!

Local cats made it 10/10 for us. Yearly trip to Maui, first time staying at Hyatt Kaanapali! We enjoyed our Baby Moon celebration here. Great locations, walkable to Whalers Village. Rooms were nice. Really enjoyed the Regency Club breakfast. Staff were thoughtful and accommodating.
Rrshogan — Google review
It was a great hotel. Right on the ocean, though at high tide the beach is very small. The amenities are good, there are shops, a very nice pool, restaurants, pool bar. The pool are is large and kept at a good temp. There was never trouble getting chairs. The room was large enough and bed comfortable. It had a balcony with chairs. The open air atrium was a highlight with tropical plants and penguins. There are also swans on property. The breakfast buffet was just okay, it was included in our package, but it would not be worth the not included price. The coffee shop in the hotel was very good. It features a boardwalk that goes along the ocean along to all the other hotels along Kaanapali beach. The valet was always quick, it was $45. There is also a self park option for $40.

Condominium complex

Aina Nalu Lahaina by Outrigger is a charming retreat nestled in the historic district of Lahaina, Maui. The resort offers 29 individually decorated guestrooms with modern amenities and island-themed decor. Guests can enjoy access to two pools, a jacuzzi, and lush gardens. Conveniently located within walking distance to various attractions, restaurants, and shops, it provides an ideal base for exploring Maui.
I had a wonderful 4 night stay here with my wife and 1.5 pool-loving daughter. 1 longish block to the main strip. 5 minute walk. So..super location. Rooms are very Hawaiian-chic. Classy. Clean. Grained were very quiet most of the time, with empty pool access (we went fri-Tuesday in late august). Excursion options on site. Overnight pay parking ($20ish). Or free street parking (which we found each night).
Carl T — Google review
Stayed here for three nights at the Outrigger with my family to a pleasant stay. The suite we rented was spacious, had a boatload of amenities such as a fridge, dish washer, and television. Each room had its own AC unit which helped keep the suite cool even with Maui's hot weather. The washroom is nice and has a powerful, walk-in shower and extra towels for your needs. The only recommendation for the bathroom is perhaps putting more tissues in as we ran out half way through our stay. Beds were very clean and no complaints about the unit. The resort provides extra beach items that may be handy such as beach towels, snorkeling gear, umbrellas, chairs, and other factors. Now, let's talk about the outside. The resort is well decorated with tropical vegetation. There are pools and tanning chairs, but we never used them because we preferred the beach so I can't comment on their use, but they looked clean. The front desk is only open until 5:30pm so if you want to park on-site for $20/night (day time is free) make sure to do that. If you come by car, your other options are extremely limited street parking (towing begins at 8am) and a private parking lot across the church for $25 a night. As a warning for those with allergies, the resort is littered with cats roaming about. Overall, a good stay, but there are certain areas that could be improved on like providing better maps (the layout is initially confusing), curating more tissues and toilet paper, and providing free parking as there were a ton of unused spaces.

We stayed in B107 and found the place cozy. I really enjoyed the close access to Front Street 5 minute walk. I thought the parking was a little steep $20 day. The AC have 4 hour timers, so have to wake up in the middle of the night to turn back on the air. The shower heads could definitely be replaced as well bathroom fan is need or some solution gets very muggy and zero airflow even with all windows open. But the beds are very comfortable (soft) and would recommend this place.

A true example of Excellent hospitality! Immaculately, beautiful and clean. The Aloha and hospitality is way beyond expectations and honestly the best experience I've had. Leeann of Itrip Vacations Maui made the experience of booking very easy and communication was amazing. Aina Nalu, unit H105 is located right in the heart of Historical Lahaina town. This place is Extremely immaculate and it felt like home. The decor were of great quality and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully loaded and equipped with everything. This beautiful unit is very spacious and comes with a lot of amenities. Everything that was described on the website and a lot of added personal touches from the owners that made it very special. It's a block away from lots of shops, restaurants, movie theaters and The Lahaina Boat Harbor. All within walking distance. Definitely, highly recommended and I look forward in returning soon.

We stayed here in Maui for 10 nights. I was a little worried when we drove up as it looked a little old. Check in was easy. She gave us coupons for local restaurants and the closest grocery store. They saved us quite a bit of money. When we opened the door to our condo I was very impressed! It was immaculately clean. Beautifully decorated. Kitchen had full size fridge/ freezer. Stove and microwave. A small dishwasher. Kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware, glasses, silverware, utensils, pots and pans bowls, etc. The large living room had a large TV. The bedroom had a queen size bed and also a TV. It didn't have any drawers for clothes, but there were shelves below the TV we used plus there was a big closet. The large bathroom included a washer and dryer. They had nice fluffy towels. Not much room around the sink for personal items. Large open walk in stone shower was beautiful. A air conditioner in the bedroom and the living room kept us comfortable. They have 2 swimming pools - a fresh water and a salt water one plus a hot tub. They offer a breakfast the morning after you arrive to orient you to the island and tell you about different excursions. You can win a prize. See didn't attend we were too tired to get up that early The only downsides to stay here was they charged $17.50 a night good parking and $175.00 cleaning fee when you moved out. No maid service unless requested, and then it's $60. I thought those fees excessive.
Virgina O — Google review
This place was beautiful. Our room was gorgeous and site was full of life. The only reason I rated 4 stars was because there was no room service. We took out our own trash and continuously washed all our towels.
Amy M — Google review
We LOVE Aina Nalu! The location is perfect and just a short walk away from famous Front Street. We love the saline infinity pool and the cabanas around it. The hot tub was also nice at night time. We stayed in the C building on the main floor with a walkout back foot right to the pool. This really made our trip perfect!
Michael B — Google review
We had a blast here! Their greeter Rafi was fabulous and cute as ever. Loved the staff and the pools, except the huge fire ant mound I accidentally stepped on next to the pool chairs at the big pool...I hope they took care of that since people are walking around barefoot. Only thing that we were not crazy about was the washer and dryer in our room. The washer left the clothes soaking wet with detergent still present on some clothes and the dryer didn't dry our clothes.

Hotel
Makai Sunset Inn is a charming oceanfront hotel located in the Historic Lahaina Front Street district, just a short walk from Old Lahaina Luau. The inn offers 18 simple yet comfortable suites with island-inspired decor, free Wi-Fi, and stunning ocean views. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchens with new appliances, making it convenient for preparing meals. Although there's no beach access on-site, visitors can use the nearby sister property's beach.
Cute, petit little inn hidden near the end of Front Street, back to and has full view of the ocean. Morning waves roll into the seawall and afternoon sunset are the sound and view to die for. The room was recently remodeled so it’s like a brand new mini condo with everything accommodated just like those brandname hotels minus daily room service. Side notes: the lower level unit could be disturbed if there were “lead foot” occupants on the upper units. The entire complex and the unit are well maintained, the property is clean and all spaces are usable. Parking accommodations are sufficient; larger vehicles may struggle to maneuver. Property management team has been very helpful and friendly. Cost is relatively reasonable. This Inn is a hidden gem.

Wonderful little Inn right on the Ocean. It is an older Inn for sure, But clean it and inexpensive. We have really enjoyed our two weeks stay. Sit on our patio and watch the sun come up as we eat brought breakfast each morning. The ocean is about 10 feet from our patio. The staff has been super friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back here again. Beckie & Charles

I visited Hawaii solo for a month stay from the UK and my week-long stay at Makai Sunset Inn was wonderful and memorable. I can't recommend it highly enough as an authentic Maui experience and an antidote to the larger over-priced resorts - you even get to use of The Royal Lahaina resort's pool and classes, so get the best of both worlds! My room (deluxe suite) was gorgeous - spacious, modern and spotless and well stocked from the toiletries and fluffy towels to the coffee and equipment in the kitchenette. Staff are really friendly and present in a helpful, but not intrusive way. I loved listening to the ocean waves crashing as I drifted off to sleep (in a massive comfy bed) and the sea views and front row seats on Maui's incredible sunsets were a huge bonus. The location is brilliant, walking distance to everything Lahaina has to offer: shops, restaurants etc. and baby beach. So glad I found this place and will definitely book again if I'm luckily enough to visit Maui a second time. Thank you!
Judy C — Google review
Pros: Right on the water, close to town, great oceanside view, and adults only. The manager seems pleasant and helpful. Beach towels are provided. Air-conditioned. Cons: Old and outdated. It smells musty and I have already smashed bugs on the counter. The pictures online do not match the rooms online. The furniture is old, carpet is icky. No pool and cannot access ocean due to off limits on the sea wall rule. Wouldn't stay here again. Already wishing we had booked somewhere else. Update: There is a big window in the middle of the shower with clear glass. Not frosted glass, and absolutely no way to screen it off and have privacy. Not only can people see inside when you are in the shower, they can also see inside when you are walking around in the bathroom.
Heather W — Google review
Out of the three different places we stayed at, during our Maui vacation, Makai Sunset Inn was unquestionably our favourite for many reasons. At an affordable price point, we got a neat and clean 1 bedroom apartment with attached bathroom, a kitchen, living and dining room. But what makes this an unbeatable stay is the views outside. The ocean is mere feet away from your room that the sound of the waves is clearly audible from anywhere in the apartment. Please note that there's no beach access. But the premises are so gorgeous and this Inn has multiple nice outdoor seating areas that are perfect for watching sunsets. We initially had plans to go to other popular tourist spots to catch sunsets but this was so beautiful that we didn't want to leave. I, who am not a morning person, woke up every morning we stayed here to watch the sunrise that lights up the neighboring island, Lanai. The abundant sealife in these waters were an additional plus. Without costing an extra penny, you can watch sea turtles, fish and other wild dolphin like creatures throughout the day. Makai sunset Inn also have rooms that come with private balconies from where you have unobstructed views of the sea. The location is also super convenient and in walking distance of many popular restaurants. This Inn also provides beach equipment from beach chairs and umbrellas to boogie boards and pool noodles, free for use. Laura, the office manager was very attentive, made our check-in and checkout a breeze, made sure everyone had fresh laundered beach towels for use at all times and also gave us great tips for touring Lahaina. We had one parking slot within the gates of the inn. We won't be looking for another place to stay for our next trip to Maui.
Varna V — Google review
Location, location, location. 1 miles from downtown which has lots of shops, restaurants, bars. .5 miles from a Safeway. 2 great sandy beaches within a few minutes drive. I was in a single person room which was the perfect size. Everything for cooking, utensils/pots/cups/plates etc. The towels were fluffy and the bed was comfy. They offer beach towels and beach gear. Every morning you can sit at the sea/rock wall and see the turtles, at night you can sit out and hear the Old Lahaina Luau in the distance. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There is no TV, Phone or AC, but with cell phones you don’t need a phone or TV. I just stayed there and didn’t need an AC, just left the windows open and fans on. The only con was the water temperature was a little tricky at times, but it’s an older building, that’s to be expected. Lots of beautiful flowers, grass, birds and plenty of seats and tables. It was a wonderful trip and can’t wait to go back and stay here again!
Kacie S — Google review
Amazing, quaint villa located in the heart of Lahaina. The room was exceptionally clean, the grounds were well kept and quiet and sunset being in the name meant total sense… out back there were two beautiful viewing spots to watch the gorgeous Lahaina sunsets. The rooms were well equipped with a nice living room, a kitchen that was well stocked with certain spices, local coffee, and the perfect amount of dishes. I would recommend this villa to anyone who is staying on the island of Maui, the managers were friendly and attentive, and again… you can’t beat the view. 5/5.
Hayden H — Google review
Disappointing. Owner sends you disclosures(prior to your trip) and let you know about the missing facilities like air-condition , TV and the fact that ocean view is an angled corner view of the ocean, but still, the pictures and listing on booking.com was deceiving and not honest. We also did not like the cleanness of the bathroom( there were sands in the corners and we found hair on the walls) and the fact that it is exposed to insects and fruit flies just makes it less appealing. Our room was right next to the office and we could hear conversations of guest with the owner all the time, also we did not have enough privacy as we had to have all windows open all time due to no air-conditioning in the room. In addition, parking was a hassle as there were not enough parking spots on site for all guests or at least that was what we had to deal with on the first and the second night. We do understand this is listed as "Inn"and is not a hotel, however, we still believe owners can improve the quality of the rooms simply but doing minor renovations or at least by adding AC which is essential for that humid weather.

The Plantation Inn, located in the heart of Lahaina near Kaanapali Beach, offers a historic connection to Maui's past as a former sugar cane plantation. The 19th-century building features unique decor and vintage furnishings in each room, providing a delightful blend of history and modern amenities. With its quaint island-themed quarters and renowned French restaurant, the inn offers an intimate and charming stay for visitors.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon and really enjoyed our stay! We wanted an adults-only spot that was close to Front Street. The entire hotel is so charming, and the small size and location of it made for a very relaxing stay. Our bed in room 15 was very comfortable, and the room was very spacious. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast every morning, where you get to choose from a limited menu what dish you’d like - the food was decent and the coffee and juice were delicious! The service at the hotel was great, Lynette made us feel very welcome at check-in and the entire staff were friendly and considerate. I think this location can’t be beat, you’re a block from Front street, a few minutes walk from the harbor (for boat excursions), and there are tons of gem food spots nearby. We loved exploring the area, and it was relatively easy to drive to other parts of the island. If you’re looking to support local businesses and experience a relaxing stay apart from all the giant hotel chains you could stay at I highly recommend booking your stay at The Plantation Inn.

My husband and I stayed at the Plantation Inn for our mini honeymoon recently. The inn was perfect for our needs for the weekend. We loved that it was quiet, adults only, and so close to Front Street. The pool and hot tub being 24/7 was awesome, and the pool was always clean and not crowded. Our room was clean, spacious and the balcony overlooking the pool was a nice touch. We loved having a delicious, gourmet breakfast included. The staff were all helpful and attentive to anything we needed. It’s a small, quiet inn but it’s perfect for a relaxing getaway with access to everything you could want in Lahaina. Parking was a little tight, but that not a big deal all things considered. We would definitely stay here again over staying in a large resort overrun with people!

My husband and I spent a week here in February and it was the best experience. The staff were all so helpful and super friendly. The location of the inn was in the perfect spot, walkable to shops and restaurants but a little off Front street to keep it quiet. The pool area was always clean and inviting. Our room was just as explained on the site, clean well maintained. There was coffee/tea and a mini fridge in the room, and we loved sitting out on the balcony in the mornings and evenings. We will most definitely return. The inn was less than half what the big resorts were charging and double the charm! Also a big plus, plenty of free parking which is hard to come by in Lahaina.
Danielle J — Google review
While it’s a older property it is well cared for and very clean. We both work in hospitality so notice things standard travelers do not. We were both impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness of staff. Nora was excellent and we appreciated her recommendations. It’s in a great location making walking to Front Street super easy. Breakfast was good although it’s very limited but enjoyed not having to leave for it. The pool was enjoyable and quiet. Being an adult only property it was very peaceful and relaxing. We appreciated being able to easily access the beach at their other property. We would definitely stay again.

All I can say is WOW. Granted this is not a fancy beachfront property...but if you're looking for an uncrowded and quiet getaway that you can still walk to restaurants, shops, and harbor in Lahaina...this is it. This is an adult only inn. We wanted a place that was peaceful and convenient and this fit the bill. Beautiful room, courtyard with pool/jacuzzi, parking and awesome breakfasts! The rate includes breakfast and they truly were delicious!!! Great customer service...thank you Nora and Plantation Inn family. Highly recommend!

We loved the Plantation Inn! The staff was so friendly and went our of their way to prepare a breakfast for us when we were checking out so we could take it with us (they made it to go for us). The rooms are gorgeous and spacious and so clean. Beds are comfy. The pool/hot tub is great and you can walk to downtown Lahaina. We would definitely stay again.
Graham H — Google review
Amazing little bed and breakfast. The rates were less than half the big chain hotels, and the staff are phenomenal. The included breakfast is wonderful, from delicious French toast and bacon, to eggs florentine, to house made fruit and yogurt. Every breakfast is big, delicious, and a wonderful way to start the day. We stayed in a Lahaina room toward the back (room #13), it was quiet, clean, though not very dark at night. The staff are all friendly, happy to chat and offer suggestions of what to do or where to go, and have the aloha spirit. The parking lot always had a space available, though the spaces are efficient and narrow.
J.D. P — Google review
Our stay here was simply excellent. The room was quiet, clean, and charming with a large lanai that overlooked the tranquil pool in the courtyard. The bed was very comfortable - we stayed seven nights and slept great the whole time! The staff was extremely welcoming and professional - they provided the warmest and most exceptional service we received anywhere on the island. We are Oahu residents and have stayed at multiple hotels and resorts throughout the Hawaiian Islands but this is our favorite so far. Besides the excellent accommodations there is no resort fee and no extra charge for parking. Breakfast is also included and the Inn houses Gerard's - an incredible French restaurant. Make sure you eat there! It's an all-around excellent place to stay and we will be back the next time we are on Maui!

Kaanapali Beach is a popular destination in Maui, known for its beautiful shoreline and a variety of activities. Visitors can enjoy the beachwalk, swimming, and snorkeling while taking in the scenic views. The area is also home to resorts, eateries, and shopping options. One of the accommodations available at Kaanapali Beach is the Hyatt Vacation Club, offering beachfront access and amenities such as outdoor swimming pools and a 24-hour fitness center.
It is a nice beach with good facilities for food, drinks, and ice cream. However, the sea bottom is full of coral and stones, so you can easily injure your legs. Be very careful. You can rent equipment and even book a tour here.

It’s like small city with beautiful greenery 1. Maui crafts and gifts fair happening. 2. There is huge golf course. 3. A very small parking in-front of actual beach entry like 10 slots in front of it (go straight, you will find more parking). There will be lots of other beach entrances. 4. Huge resorts and great place to chill and enjoy beach for. 5. Went during weekdays and less crowd than what I expected.

Kaanapali is a piece of heaven on the earth. Beautiful beaches, lovely mountains and perfect sky. Here is now one of my most favorite places I've ever stayed.
Hanieh E — Google review
It’s one of the most beautiful beaches in Maui. We saw a few turtles and some beautiful fish while swimming so snorkeling is great there. Tons of space and clear water. There are rocky cliffs on the right side of the beach for some cliff diving but be careful because it’s quite slippery.
Elzbieta M — Google review
We went to visit for 2 weeks last month and the beach so beautiful, breathtaking and so clear. The water was not quite calm and too much waves but still did not stop my hubby to be in the water. We stayed at Marriott Ocean Lahaina so the resort right by the ocean. We observed a sleeping sea lion at one time. There’s so many upscale resorts along the beach and nice restaurants as well as its walking distance to Whalers Village. We enjoyed riding the Maui Bus. Will definitely be back, it was a quite memorable first time visit to Maui but we been to Hawaii 4 times already. Love Hawai’i so peaceful…
Dini A — Google review
Gorgeous beach lined with resorts so it does get busy. You've got a decent chance to see turtles here at the end by the black rock cliffs.
Kyle K — Google review
Kāʻanapali Beach is nice to look at, but honestly not a must-see when visiting Maui. The surf was pretty rough and the entry into the water was rocky and not great for swimming. It felt overly hyped up compared to other beaches on the island. We did get to see a Hawaiian Mono Seal which is incredibly rare. My photo of the beach is also extremely edited. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend heading just a little further north to Black Rock Beach — it has much better snorkeling, clearer water, and even some fun cliff jumping. Definitely a more memorable spot than Kāʻanapali.

Beautiful beach and more kid friendly for snorkeling, SUP, and other water activities with easy access to shops & dining.

Beautiful condo on the beach, hard to leave, will never be able to stay anywhere else while in Maui. A special thank you to Paula, Jody, Kim and the rest of the staff who made our stay unforgettable!

Lovely condo, nice pool and great scenery. We had car problems and the staff got the car started. The only negative are the tons of sea urchins on the coral. The water is very shallow and we saw two kids stung by the coral. When they say baby beach, that's what they mean - it's quite shallow and you have to go over coral to get out to the deeper part.

Convenient location, walking distance to Lahaina, steps to Baby Beach, great for small children, large 2-bedroom condos, gated, plenty of parking, quality finishes, well maintained, on-site manager....

The resort is gorgeous. The amenities are top class and it has direct access to the only beach in lahaina. so far so good!

Took a break from relaxing on the beach to relax at this Tiki-style bar and get some food. Good food, medium portions at a high price. Service was okay.

Nestled in lush gardens, OUTRIGGER Kāʻanapali Beach Resort offers a prime location without the high price tag. The property boasts free hula shows, ukulele lessons, and lei ceremonies, providing an authentic Hawaiian experience. Families can enjoy complimentary meals for kids under 5 and an Aloha Passport offering snacks and prizes for participating in cultural activities. With a small whale-shaped pool and proximity to Whaler's Village shopping plaza, the resort provides convenience and entertainment.
We booked through Costco travel including our car. The room was on the 4th floor looking over the beautiful landscaping in the center of the property. We could easily see the ocean and beach from our balcony. This is a hidden gem. Much quieter and laid back than the larger big name hotels. Pool area was so nice. You could move your recliners off the concrete into the grass area for shade. We noticed the hotels next to us were very crowded and lacked any privacy from the public walk area next to the beach. Very well maintained. Our room had a king bed, large walk in shower for two, a very large tv with cable plus easy sign on to your netflix account, dresser for cloths, plus a table and 2 chairs so you could sit down and eat. It also had a keurig coffee maker that they refilled daily. So close to other restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend.

Nice hotel on Maui! Located approx. 45min. drive from the airport, the hotel is directly located at the beach, next to a few other hotels and just a few minutes walk from the Whalers Shopping Village. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. There is a pool, however not the biggest one. The beach is close and offers perfect conditions to take a swim or sun bath. On the premises, there is the Maui Brewing company with great food and drinks, also with a happy hour. The hotel offers different local and authentic Hawaiian activities both for kids and adults. There is also a farewell ceremony for those departing. Breakfast can be taken, however isn’t in the room fee included. Staff is very friendly. One comment though expressively to the management concerning the welcome and check in procedure which is subject to do better. Almost every visitor comes a very long and exhausting journey keen to get the room, take a shower and relax. Why not offering just a cool drink as a welcome gratitude? And when there are four check in counters and only one is busy, it takes ages to check in. Even small things can help to create a much better welcome feeling! Otherwise a great place to stay and enjoy Maui, Aloha!

Everyone is so kind. They acknowledge you when you pass by. Very polite and helpful. Yesterday we ate at the pub they have on site and it was the best food we ate since we’ve been here. The are so willing to make your stay as comfortable as they can. Although I had to fight the damn coffee maker for a cup of joe wasn’t a big deal because the courtesy and kindness went above and beyond. We got a room on the ground floor steps away from the pool and The beach is just outside our hotel! This was the best vacation yet! Thank you to everyone 🥰

What a wonderful place to stay! The location is bar far unbeatable. Rooms were nice and upkeep when we were away, all staff every direction we went were so nice! They have a concierge desk to help with island activities. The pool was awesome, the breakfast buffet was good (expensive) but good. You have laid back atmosphere, the perfect mix of rural/city life. The beach is right in front of the hotel and very accessible. Your right down from the whalers village shopping center and close enough to walk to any shops of restaurants in the area!

Have done the breakfast buffet many times but this was the first time back in about 5 years. While the restaurant has been renovated the buffet was not nearly as good as it was in the past. A major disappointment. A number of breakfast buffet items that they used to have, like Portuguese sausage and higher end pastries, are no longer offered. There are much better breakfast buffets on the island.

Lovely place. Definately not as nice as when it was owned by local family. But, the staff is so wonderful and friendly. They make you feel like Ohana. The grounds are beautiful and you are on Kaanapali Beach. Maui Brewing Company on-site with locally grown foods on the menu. Lots of things to do from local crafts people.

We had a great experience staying at the Outrigger Ka’anapali. I went with my husband on a couples trip and it was perfect for what we were wanting. We had plans to go out on the island away from the resort for most of our days there and have 1.5 beach days. Overall, this was a great value. Our goals were to have a clean room, beautiful beach and good customer service and the Outrigger provided all of those things. Every person on staff that we talked to was extremely friendly and helpful. The resort building itself is dated. However, we felt like it was full of culture and in a safe area even though this was a motel style where the rooms doors are outside. We booked a signature partial ocean view room with a king bed, but couldn’t really see much of the ocean. Our view was mostly of the pool. Our room was a very short walk from the parking lot which was really nice since we had a rental car. The rooms were good sized and very clean. The bed was comfortable and there were lots of places to charge devices which we really appreciated. We also liked that the hotel offered cultural experiences and was within walking distance of Whalers Village. The beach access was great and a short walking distance. The sand was clean and super soft. Black Rock was very close and the ocean was beautiful. We climbed Black Rock and jumped off! We saw lots of fish and a couple of sea turtles. We liked that there was an option to rent snorkel gear right on the beach. The pool was very small and full of kids, which was totally fine but we avoided the pool completely since we prefer to be on the beach. If you are pool people, you probably won’t care for this one. Maui Brewing Company being on location was a huge bonus for us. We loved having the restaurant close and ate there twice during our stay. This is not a top of the line hotel, but it was perfect for our low maintenance needs, is right by a gorgeous beach and close enough to all of our excursions. We would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you to Outrigger for an amazing experience!

The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, Ka'anapali is a modern beachfront property that recently underwent a $120 million renovation. The 12-acre resort now features a redesigned luxury tower, upgraded swimming pools, a new wellness spa, and four dining outlets highlighting local culture and agriculture. The 217-room Hokupaa Tower offers exclusive access to the ocean-view Lanai lounge with Hawaiian breakfast bites and cultural activities.
First time staying at the Westin in Maui and it was absolutely fabulous, we would be back in a heartbeat and highly recommend! Great location to Whaler's Village with walking distance to shops, golf courses, beach, restaurants and local activities. Pool was separated for children and adults, which was nice for those to get some serene space away from the noise of kids. Beach was beautiful and very close to the pool so easy access. Umbrellas accessible to rent. Restaurants within hotel were great and along the beach. Service and rooms were quick, responsive and helpful with directions. We will be back!

This was our second time staying at the Westin Maui Resort. We chose to stay again because our first visit was so special. Overall, our stay this time was fine. The room, pools, beach, food & beverages & service were good but it felt that there was that high level of enthusiasm & attention missing that we experienced on our first visit. When you travel 10,000 miles round trip and take into account the cost, you want to feel that it was all worth it as we did after our first visit. While he had a wonderful second visit, it just wasn’t quite the same.

Our stay at the Westin Maui was truly wonderful. The resort itself is beautiful, with breathtaking views and a relaxing atmosphere, but what stood out the most was the hospitality. One of the highlights of our trip was celebrating our birthday at the resort’s restaurant, Hale Mo‘olelo. The manager, Rachel Harrow, came over personally to greet us, wished us a happy birthday, and even brought out a special dessert. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the evening feel very special. The next day when we returned to the restaurant, Rachel remembered us and came by again to check in. Her warmth and genuine kindness left such a positive impression and really made our experience feel unique. Between the beautiful setting, excellent service, and thoughtful touches, our time at the Westin Maui was memorable from start to finish. We’re already looking forward to staying there again in the future.

What an absolutely stunning resort. We walked up and down the beach from our hotel comparing each resort, and by far the Westin had the best resort offering. Lush poolside area lots of trees and waterfalls and birds just a great visual if you don't want to spend your time at the beach. Every single staff member was super friendly and very helpful. Our room was facing towards the entrance of the hotel, with a view of the golf course and the mountain, and the big canopy of trees filled with tree houses, where every morning we were greeted with the beautiful sounds of birds having extended and lovely conversations

10/10 Amazing stay from start to finish! Service and staff were so friendly and attentive, especially the housekeeping staff. Hokupa'a tower is an absolute must. Make sure you book early, as they do fill up. Please see my review on booking.com for a more thorough review. Just book it, you will love every minute of it! Amazing location, great staff and service, perfect property, unforgettable experience 👌

Aloha spoken here by very friendly staff at all levels. We stayed in a beautiful condo on the 9th floor. Many amenities, many places to eat, coastal beach walk, and not far to walk to Whalers Village and the ABC market with many essentials. Check out their reviews too. Better to walk than deal with parking. Mahalo.

Absolutely amazing resort in every way. The kids have been entertained and had a blast. Friendly staff and awesome island vibes. For a big resort the Westin really makes you feel welcomed and at home from the moment you arrive. Highly recommend
Rohan W — Google review
Only giving location a 4 star but a 2 star for overall. Really bad customer service and treated us like we were not on vacation, gave us towel tickets and was a bit strict or had to keep a track of towels for the pool. And also blamed Costco for not getting our reservation in correctly and we had to wait for more than 2 hours to get checked in for a guarantee room which we paid for months ahead... No good resort would just blame third party agents for their issues with the system... And check out was also an issue took about 15mins for their manager to come talk to us so we can provide a feedback... The only reason we booked this place was for the fancy slides but there is nothing other than the slide that is great here... Of course you can go to the beach but so can we at the other Resorts... Could have planned better!!!

The Pioneer Inn, located in Lahaina, is a charming oceanfront hotel with a rich history dating back to 1901. This registered historic landmark offers clean and affordable rooms close to various amenities and attractions, making it an ideal choice for tourists who want to be centrally located. The hotel's elegant white columns and intriguing appearance make it a standout location in Maui.
Great 1 or 2 night stay. You are walking distance to everything. The pool is calming and a place to cool down in the afternoon heat. The front office staff was one of the best parts. Very friendly. Small rooms but has all the vintage charm of 1902. Not luxury but calm and peaceful. I love historic hotels.
D S — Google review
Overall, a disappointing experience. We arrived to Lahaina exhausted after some trip troubles. It was very crowded, and it wasn't clear even what side of the hotel the entrance was on (most of the lower level are actually shops -- heads up, it's the water side)). After driving around for a bit, we gave up and paid for 2 days of parking at a nearby parking lot and walked back to the hotel, only to be CHASTISED by the evening shift front desk lady about 'why didn't you just use the "Active Harbor loading zone" to unload our luggage. We let her know that that appeared to be for boats/the harbor, but she insisted it was for the hotel and then questioned us on 'why you would pay for parking, when the hotel was going to cover it'. I let her know I was never notified that parking was covered by the hotel -- (there was nothing in the emails/notifications post-reservation that parking would be covered), but she just shook her head at me. When we finally got to our room, the disappointment continued. It was clean, but fairly cramped. The lanai is shared with neighboring rooms, and the walls are thin and poorly insulated around the door/A/C (so, not good rooms for a romantic evening). The bathroom is oddly arranged with shelves, so tall people be warned. It was a great location to food and activities though -- we were a 1min stroll from a variety of activities, including day/evening cruises. Otherwise though, wouldn't recommend.

This hotel is perfectly located near the warf and central to many restaurants and shops. The rooms are older, but very clean and well appointed. The pool was not crowded, the courtyard is charming. The highlight were the front desk staff. Mark, Samantha, Kylie, and Pat are are incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate you any way they can. Check in/out was effortless Look forward to coming back

Really great service from the staff. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere. The rooms are modest but well appointed, the lanais are perfect and you absolutely cannot beat the location for walkability! If resorts are not your thing then this is definitely the place to go (i.e. no screaming children). It's got what you need, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, coffee, and it's close to so many great restaurants and shops. They do apparently have an excellent chef in the restaurant but we didn't have a chance to eat there, though it smelled good and was always busy. Maybe next time we'll stop in!

Located right in the heart of downtown Lahaina this Hotel is truly a historical piece of Maui history. The upgraded rooms were clean, ACs work great and got the job done for a comfortable stay. The pool was clean and inviting. They provide local parking and once here there is plenty of shops and restaurants to walk to. The strip is quite busy with people and vehicle traffic providing lots of people watching from our lanai (porch). It can be a bit loud for those looking to sleep in but for the early birds its perfect. Convenience stores right downstairs to fill your snack and beverage needs. Bar and restaurant located on property. Decently priced we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this for those looking to be right in the mix.

What a beautiful historic Inn! We checked in for our 5 nights stay here during our visit to Maui and we were so graciously welcomed by Kiley. She explained the parking process to us (yes they do offer free parking!) and also all the hotel amenities and went over the map of the hotel as well as nearby restaurants and shops. Everyone at the front desk is so friendly and welcoming. The room comes with a lanai (a balcony) with two rocking chairs and a table. Rooms are clean and decent sized. They also offer room service upon request. The hotel is so conveniently located on Front Street that you can pretty much walk to most restaurants and beaches around. Their courtyard is just so dreamy and they also have an in-house talking parrot named Alex. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in West Maui on their trip.

Fantastic historical hotel for those that like boutique style stays. Super comfy beds. Right next to the banyan tree. Delicious restaurant downstairs. The pool is a bit cold but we preferred the beach a few blocks away. Our favorite was the lanai with rocking chairs. We traveled with our son and the fold out mini bed worked just fine. Great AC too ad nice bathroom. We loved it.
Julie C — Google review
Perfect location right by the Lahaina old street and harbour. We had a 4-person room that has an quaint style that has a “trundle” bed that is pulled down from the wall plus another king size bed. Wooden blinds are adjustable at the center by a vertical rod. AC is 20th style installed at the top of the windows. It works but is very noisy. The bed was too soft for me. Overall a great experience for me.

The Old Lahaina House is a small, tropical-style guesthouse located in the heart of Lahaina. With private bathrooms, air conditioning, TV, free wifi and mosquito netting bed drapes, it is perfect for families and couples. The guest house also includes a pool and summer kitchen with BBQ grill.
Feels like home, but better! We accidentally under booked our honeymoon and ended up finding this hidden gem for a night. Sherry, Tiana and Renee were so friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and cozy. They gave us everything we needed and more. We loved being able to pick up one of their beach chairs and walk across the street to the beach. We cleaned off in their outdoor shower and splashed in the pool. Oh and they had the best shampoo and conditioner out of anywhere else we stayed!! We didn’t have a chance to borrow one of their bikes but we would have loved to take them to the nearby restaurants and shops! We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you for an amazing stay and memories that will last a lifetime! 🌺

Can't rate this place highly enough. There are a lot of reviews saying Old Lahaina House feels like home. They are spot on. Sherry and her family make this place feel like the holiday home you wish you had. Beautiful pool, peaceful surrounds and great communal atmosphere. The place has soul. Beach is less than a minute walk away, where you can snorkel and lounge in shade beneath the trees. Sherry and co will happily lend you beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkels etc. The beach faces west, making for beautiful sunsets over the neighboring islands. Town is a short five minute walk away with plenty of good bars and restaurants. By far, our favorite stay in Hawaii. Would recommend to friends, family, and all.

We booked a one night stay at the Lahaina House at the last minute, because the hostel we were staying at was not what we expected. It was the best sleep of our entire trip. We only met Tiana because we arrived so late but her coffee blend is delicious and this place had everything we needed for a relaxing night. Just a stones throw away from the beach to watch the sunrise/sunset, and a short walk away from some really great local eateries. 10/10 would stay here again.

We had such a fantastic time staying at the Old Lahaina House! Sherry and her staff have been above and beyond with their hospitality - they’re always so quick to respond and had so many fun facts and suggestions about the neighbourhood. The units we stayed in were very clean and cozy - the neighbourhood is fairly quiet and we found ourselves waking up to the sounds of birds in the morning! This was also located so conveniently close to town that we spent many nights walking into town for food and drinks, then sauntering back via the beach - we had some of the best sunsets here and so many stars on clear nights! So if you’re looking for a well-priced, locally hosted spot - this is honestly perfect!

Sherry and the whole staff give meaning to the word "Aloha". They made us feel so welcome and taken care of from beginning to end. Starting with clear communication around booking all the way to flexibility on check out. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortable, with a lanai overlooking the pool. They have anticipated a vacationers every need, with beach chairs, snorkeling gear, laundry service, a mini-fridge, and more. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Maui, which we hope will be soon. Great location.

Sherry is a wonderful host! We rented a camper van while in Maui and needed a change of pass, a hot shower and a cold room. The old Lahaina house was the perfect place. We booked a late night stay and was greeted by sherry and her two dogs and before we checked into our room she took us to the beach(60 second walk) to look at the stars. The room was clean and everything you could need in a room. If you are in Maui and don’t need an expensive hotel, this is the place to stay!

I would consider renaming this place Old Lahaina "Home" because that is what the owner, staff, and animals made this place feel like. The first night was simply a taste of what the rest of our week long stay would be, and it only got better from there. Sherry, the owner, built a beautiful, comfortable, accommodating, and loving environment within the Old Lahaina House which ultimately made our departure from Hawaii bittersweet. Every morning and evening, Sherry would come out from her office and talk to us about our experiences around the remarkable island of Maui, offering any piece of advice she could to make sure that we make the best of our trip. In addition to the owner's impeccable hospitality, the rooms themselves are very cozy and let in an abundant amount of light, allowing your mornings to start with a beautiful sunrise, a tropical background, and a lovely tune from the local birds. The rooms also included a coffee machine, coffee and creamer, dishes, a spacious mini fridge, a microwave, towels, and additional linens. We had our own bathroom and closet as well. If anything else is needed, Sherry is always available for you. I recommend starting your mornings early by the poolside with a cup of coffee in hand beside the lovely sunbathing animals that reside at Old Lahaina House. The local community has an authentic Hawaiian vibe with kind, welcoming neighbors as well as a beach right across from the guesthouse. I am so happy to have experienced my first travel trip in Maui with Sherry and her family at the Old Lahaina "Home." Thank you for leaving a remarkable, everlasting impression of Hawaii in our lives.

Staff is friendly and personal, best way to feel at home and not just in a hotel room while enjoying vacation! The pool is fantastic and great to have animals to treat you like family as the staff do!. Rooms are great! The beach is perfect as well as location and the price is perfect to go with everything! It has the "old" feel to it which we enjoyed to feel a part of the community!
