Confectionery store
Confiserie Schiesser - since 1870 - Café, Tea-Room, Confiserie at Rathaus Basel is a historic establishment managed by the fifth generation of the Schiesser family. The bakery produces exquisite cakes while the café and tea room offer an old-world Swiss charm on the first floor. With a location at Marktplatz, it provides a delightful experience with its confectionery and beautiful views of Rathaus and Marktplatz from the window seats.
Really good quality black-forest cake. One of the best I have ever had. Latte macchiato and tea were also amazing. The vintage vibe of dinning in is wonderful. Highly recommend.
Oh Z — Google review
Nice spot with an amazing view on the main square of Basel. Macchiato was spot on and the sweat treat was excellent! Well done for the service, the lady was multitasking and friendly. Even her Majesty has tasted this sweets, her letter is shown in the shop!
Merges R — Google review
One of the best known and oldest cafes & confiseries of Basel, set in a beautiful sandstone building overlooking its fairytale town hall. The pastries & chocolates are very high quality. The tearoom upstairs is an elegant old charmer perfect for an afternoon tea.
Carlos O — Google review
A must-visit in Basel every time! I first came here almost 30 years ago and it’s still as charming as ever. Lovely café with timeless atmosphere, delicious cakes, and warm service right by the Rathaus!
Jeannette — Google review
The tea room upstairs is kind of a hidden gem but a local favorite. If you are in mood for a low key authentic and rich atmosphere this is the place. Has cool pictures of old Town Basel on walls.
Jim E — Google review
Nobody was interested at our arrival. No suggestions, no efforts in speaking English, the Sacher tort was not the original recepee at all and it was impossible to finish. Service could be better, pastries could be better, only the place is an ancient palace absolutely stunning, but It should be renovated with a better quality seats and wall covering. Try another pastry shop/coffee in Basel.
Miriam B — Google review
The staff is poorly trained and somewhat understaffed. I came twice last week and left both times after waiting over 10 minutes without being served. Service is excruciatingly slow (even by Swiss standards). A few other customers have recently noted the same issue as well. On previous visits, I had to go to the food stand myself to ask to pay or flag down a waiter, often feeling like I was bothering them. Now, they simply do not bother to come at all. There seems to be no awareness of which table needs what or who is still waiting. P.S. I do not expect a response. I may give it another try in half a year, but if the service remains the same, I will neither return nor recommend this place to any of my many international friends.
Animhata A — Google review
Historical coffee dessert place which services lunch as well. The 1870 establishment has a fantastic view of Basler Rathaus, from the outdoor and the second floor. Lunch was pleasant, small tart with asparagus and pilz-schnitte, brioche toast in mixed mushroom sauce.

Chocolate shop
Located in the old town of Zürich, Xocolatl GmbH offers a variety of Swiss chocolate brands including Rehmann and La Flor. The store is important to know its producers and suppliers personally because their products have a significant value for fair trade and sustainable practices. In addition to hot chocolate drinks, you must try their Schoggi!
My friend took me to this shop and café a couple of weeks ago, and I’m so happy she did! The atmosphere is super nice and classy, and the shop offers uncountable quality chocolates from all over the world. We were lucky to get a table in the café, where my friend drank some hot chocolate, I got a milky coffee (unfortunately they didn’t have decaf), and we shared the Kongo Tarte au chocolat with rosemary and salted almonds, which was surprisingly tasty. They have dozens and dozens of hot chocolates on the menu, as well as several chocolate cakes, your standard hot and cold beverages, and some sweet and savory non-chocolate options, so I believe anyone can find something they like here.
That ᴗ — Google review
Amazing chocolate that isn't presented in such a pretentious manner like the other confectionery shops in Basel. Their chocolate cakes are rich and dense, the hot chocolates are velvety and beautiful. Their own brand chocolate bars are also delicious and a reasonable price. The olive oil one is something special. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Loved this place.
Basil Y — Google review
Grabbed the chocolate cherry tortes and the rosemary and salted almond one. Absolutely dreamy. Think ganache with a slight crust of having met an oven at some point in its lifetime. At CHF6.50 a slice that's very reasonable for the standard and quality of ingredients. They'd definitely charge more in London. Lovely staff as well.
K 2 — Google review
A fantastic spot to spend an hour on a dreary day Don't be afraid to try the cold chocolate drink as well as the hot- both are great. The chocolate torte (xocolatl-tarte) is also incredible and rich.
Alex H — Google review
The best chocolate cake I’ve ever had!! The lady at the store was nice enough to walk us through all the chocolate cake options. The one she recommended was decadent!
Hyo K — Google review
They have some gluten-free cake and a real coffee machine. Table service. English menu available. Very friendly.
Julie G — Google review
Best place in Basel! a huge selection of chocolate from all over the world and the most delicious chocolate pies. A separate luxury is the interior. The establishment has retained its unique historical appearance, but remains new and clean.
Yasna B — Google review
Simply amazing for chocolate lovers!!! They have a hot chocolate drink you consume with a spoon. The chocolate torte is sublime. We left with so much drinking chocolate and couverture chocolate. Indulge!!!

Ice cream shop
Eiscafé Acero GmbH is a nice, low-key cafe with delicious housemade cakes and savory snacks. They also have great ice cream, in both a cup and cone form, as well as different sizes. The service here is friendly and the food seems authentic and high quality.
Very tasty, high quality ice cream and variety of innovative and interesting flavors, like limoncello and tonka beans. There is a choice between paper cup and cone and three different sizes as well. All servings are very generous.
Zorana N — Google review
Favorite ice cream in Basel. Nice environment with inside and outside seating. Gets busy on a warm day so be prepared for a line out the door. Flavors are fresh and change throughout the day. Pictured is chocolate in a cone and chocolate, lemon sorbet and strawberry sorbet in a cup. Highly recommend all flavors.
Marius K — Google review
If you are looking for a quick pit stop to get some delicious ice cream, this is the place to go in Basel. Great selection of flavours (highly recommend the blackberry and chocolate) and a charming location.
Patrick K — Google review
Cute little bistro with a small selection of items like mezze, quiches, Belgian waffles, salads and soups. The tea comes in small Asian style iron cans and they keep a nice selection around. The waffle with maple syrup was really delicious and the mezze mix was tasty too but super pricey for the amount you're getting (chf16). Service varied from nice and friendly to unceremonious upfront and direct... not intentionally however not too welcoming either. Would probably go for the waffles or to try their ice creams. Oh yeah it's cosily setup with some lovely wall art and coloring.
Nik G — Google review
Friendly people running the place. Cash only unfortunately. I found out the hard way. Food seemed experience for what it was and I came away hungry. I would still go back though as it had a nice ambience and cakes looked good.

Takeout Restaurant
Gabri's Pasta is a cozy and intimate Italian restaurant known for its delicious, homemade fresh pasta. The menu varies daily, offering a selection of flavorful pasta dishes made from scratch. The atmosphere is described as cozy and nice, although it can get busy and loud at times due to the close seating arrangement. Despite this, the staff are attentive and friendly, catering to various dietary preferences without any fuss.
A perfect place for having a dinner event with friends, family, or company gathering. All the various Antipastas and Pastas were cooked perfectly and complimented each other. Gabri and his team are great hosts. Thank you for the great evening :)

Special meat sauce with al dente pasta. Lunch Päckli including salad, bread and soft drink. Kind service. Seating a bit tight.
林昭辰 — Google review
By walking and looking for dinner. We found Gabri's Pasta 🍝! The interior reminds me of Bologna! We got the last table of the evening! They don't have a menu, which means surprise surprise! We had 5 different kinds of starters, 3 different kinds of pasta and desserts for a set price of 75.00. My rating: Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Location: 5/5 Price: 4/5 For my part, we really enjoyed the dinner and the price was fair for us (but I guess not for everyone with small hungry and budget). Keep up the charm and friendly personality! We really enjoy it! Grazie Mille

Waitress is very friendly but I think it is too much for only one waitress to have enough time for the customer to provide an excellent service.
Manuel L — Google review
We had a beautiful evening on your terasse Enjoyed the delicious food and the super service. I can highly recommend your restaurant Thank you very much
Brigitte H — Google review
Limited menu options at lunch. Pasta came with very little protein of choice. I ordered chicken and there were only very few bits of chicken in the dish. The lady server that served us was alright but the man that served us (not sure if he’s the owner), was quite rude. 1. When I ordered tap water for a start, he gave a displeased look. 2. When my husband asked for some milk to go with Americano, he gave just packet cream even though there was fresh milk available. This was shocking as most cafes would pour out a small portion of milk for customers. 3. We had our dog with us and while we were still trying to settle into our seats and for our dog to find a spot to lie down, he signaled to us to please keep the dog inside. In all the restaurants we’ve been to with our dog, this was the only one where we felt so unwelcomed. The rest of the time we were there, my dog was quietly under the table and you would not even know a dog was there. Ambience is cosy, coffee is also good, but I would rate the food a 3 and the service a 1. The overall rating of 4.7 is misleading.
Theresa Y — Google review
Excellent service. Entree and Main course delicious, dessert would need improvement

Gabriella Gelato Artigianale is a world-class ice cream shop with some of the most unique and unique flavors you'll ever taste. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is truly wonderful. This is definitely one of Switzerland's hidden gems, so don't miss out on it if you're ever in the area!
We arrived just in time. They have great flavours to offer and the taste is really good. Powerful and sweet gelato flavours. There's enough space to chill and sit down to enjoy the ice cream
Sander R — Google review
Very soft gelato, sweet level good, many different taste and it's not watery. More intense taste than the one I had in Ticino. Portion is just right, choose the grande one, they certainly give more on that. They have great service (quick and they have a lot of people behind the counter ready to serve you, also they are friendly). When we were there on Sunday, there is a bit of a queue but it didn't take that long. Definitely recommended!

Marko K — Google review
The ice cream is delicious, you can taste the real fruit. They change the menú very frequently so can have one different every week
Rafa R — Google review
Very good ice-cream. Lots of flavours.
Silviu B — Google review
Updating my review, as it doesn't do justice to Gabriella's anymore... Any other icecream/gelato around has become completely disappointing after getting used to Gabriella's rich, creamy and delicious products - pretty much across all flavors! My recommendation? Go for it! But beware that other icecreams will become deeply uninteresting. And this feeling gets worse with time, to the point I'm about start reviewing other places with one star and "It's not Gabriella...".

Frojo Cafe is a cozy spot offering a wide array of frozen yogurt with an extensive selection of toppings including fresh fruits, chocolates, and various sauces. The cafe also serves delicious waffles and crepes. While the decor could use some sprucing up, the friendly staff and generous portions make for a delightful experience. Although some patrons wished for more generous toppings, the unique froyo combinations make it a worthwhile visit.
Normally i don’t like Froyo but this Froyo here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The owner is super friendly and sweet and he is very generous, not like other Froyo places. The Froyo itself is super creamy and not watery at all, like others. I don’t live here but everytime i visit this is my must go to place to stop by!
Leann H — Google review
A must try dessert. Frozen yogurt with different options of toppings like fruits or nuts and sauces. Similar to Indian Shrikand .
Swapneel P — Google review
AMAZING—best frozen yogurt I’be ever tried. It’s sweet but not too sweet and manages to maintain the delicious tart, tanginess of good yogurt. You can also top it with a variety of delicious options—guava sauce and pistachio cream were my favorites (not combined). The place itself is clean, comfortable and features plenty of seating. The woman who works the counter is very friendly. Overall, a fantastic spot!
Tamara — Google review
My friend and I came in for a treat, and we forgot that the closing time on Saturdays is 7 pm, and not 8 pm. The staff were really sweet and didn't even tell us that it was past closing time. They just patiently waited for us. Thank you for the amazing service and sorry for over staying. 🙏🌹 Also, the froyo was delicious 😋. I highly recommend topping it with pistachios, almonds and a drizzle of pistachio cream.
Aaisha B — Google review
Cozy place with really tasty food(waffle and crepe) i personally recommend the waffle more, it gave me a moment to escape reality, probebly the only moment where i felt genuinely good living in Switzerland, and definitely good grozen yoghurt with a decent toppings selection 🤍 Tho they can use a bit of redecoration, otherwise i recommend this place 100% The staff we were really friendly and proactive.

The crepes were pretty good, the service was okay, just a bit slow and well the fruits were frozen but overall it was fine

We have made this our regular treat spot. The staff are friendly and it's a great place to stop as you walk along the river. We are working through all the possible combinations and have never had a bad Frojo experience. The seating is comfortable and regardless of age, it a great place to meet up.

Amorino Gelato in Basel offers a delightful experience with its natural and delicious ice cream made from high-quality ingredients. The unique flower-shaped presentation, adorned with a macaroon, enhances the sensory pleasure of enjoying their gelato. The outdoor seating area provides a refreshing spot to savor these delectable treats during hot summer days. While the prices may be on the higher side, visitors rave about their favorite combinations such as pistachio, choc amorino, and mango flavors.
Excellent gelato, nice service, easy to order. We tried the lemon sorbet, paradiso sorbet, pistachio, chocolate amorino: all exceptional with distinct flavour profile and suitable level of acidity, balance, nuttiness, depth respectively. Added 2CHF for a pistachio macaron too, which was nice. The staff kindly explained they could even put 2-3 flavours even on 'small'. Both indoor and outdoor seating available with WC. We visited on a weeknight ~8pm and it was fairly quiet. Great for a post-dinner dessert.
T L — Google review
It was hot and we couldn’t resist especially after seeing all the people slurping on big ice cream sundaes. We had a small cup of coffee ice cream and a pistachio cone. The coffee ice cream had chocolate covered coffee beans and a nice strong coffee flavor. The pistachio was a bit sweeter than my liking but tasty. A bit pricey relative to the serving size but then again we were in the tourist district.
Maria M — Google review
The Amorino brand is French and will have over 250 boutiques worldwide by 2025. Large selection of rose-shaped ice creams, of good quality and with a good balance of flavors. Macaroons and waffles are also available. A few seats inside and a terrace outside. The staff are very friendly. There may be a wait in summer. A little expensive, but we're in Switzerland and on a very touristy street. Worth a try

I randomly went inside this establishment and ordered a pistachio gelato, the best one I have had in 27 years, no contest, if you are used to artificial flavors, this is not going to be the best experience, it is not ridiculously sweet and the flavor is intense in a natural way. if you look for a super sweet and super intense artificial flavor, then COOP is a much better option.

The ice cream is known for its natural ingredients and less sweet taste, focusing on the intense flavors of the ingredients. Customers can enjoy a variety of flavors such as Haymilk, Double Cream, Extra Dark Chocolate, Caramel, Vanille Barrique, Strawberry with Double Cream, Black Currant with Hay Milk, and Pistachio.
Some of the best ice cream full stop. It has a relatively high cost but very high quality that gives a much better value than many other places. This ice cream does not leave you wanting, so you are content with just one portion. By chance we bumped into one of the co-founders and the passion and vision he had goes a long way towards showing why the ice cream is so good. Big drive on full and natural ingredients and adding simplicity to make richness and flavor. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. So not just a good product but a very warm and pleasurable experience.

Love the pistachio gelato. I wish the quantity was more with some sprinkle of chocolate or nuts on it. I have tried twice and my friends took the pistachio too. All time favourite for pistachio gelato in the city.

Awesome. Very natural ingredients. Less sugar, just clear taste. My favorites are Hay Milk and Caramel. Like in my childhood. Also Vanille Barrique, Double Cream with Strawberry was a perfect match, as well as Black Currant with Hay Milk. Just Pistachio was a bit too greasy to my taste, but the rest of the varieties were absolutely great.

The waitress was extremely kind . I got a crepe with cream included . Unfortunately the crepe was overly sweet . It costed 16chf , wich is crazy just for one small slice . Very expensive .

Really loved the taste of the mango sorbet! It’s a beautiful place to sit outside in the sun and enjoy the ice cream.

It was so good that the only picture I took doesn't say much about the ice cream. We tasted lemon, pistachio, cold brew intense and passion fruit. All were great with authentic flavour.
Michal S — Google review
Quality of coffee was mediocre at max while the ice cream was okay. Worst part was the unfriendly and had a extremely egotistical approach towards hospitality and customer care. Whenever i order an Americano with a splash of Oatmilk i don’t wanna be lectured from a 19 yr old barista that there is no milk supposed to be in an Americano and how it actually should be. Just make the damn coffee and smile.

On a quick stroll through the city on one of the first warm-sunny days of the year i stumbled over the Cuckoo Ice Cream Store in Basel. Spontanous i got a cup of icecream there with 3 different tastes: - No 4 Haymilk - No 5 Double Cream - No 11 Extra dark chocolate The store is quite small in the oldtown, clean and clear. The service was a little bit addled when i entered the store and placed my order - maybe i was the first customer of the day. But after that surprise she got quickly her grip. The size of the cup is quite big, but thats also visible in the quite high price. The icecream flavors are very tasty - very subtle also but still quite goood. I think i sabotaged my experience of the two lighter tastes (hay milk and double cream) with the very bold taste of the extra dark chocolate. So i would recommend to focus just on one or two of the different kinds offered. The extra dark chocolate tastes more than a normal chocolate from other ice dealers, not the deep rich taste i'm used to, just very sweet-chocolatley. The haymilk and the double cream are very very light tastes. So you really need a cleared pallete to taste the special flavors. I liked the double cream with the rich-creamy flavorprofile more. In the hay milk its, as far as i could tasted it, the mostly untouched taste of fresh milk. I would have loved some hay-aromas in it. But overall, a nice icecream with the interesting idea of swiss-ice-cream culture and some interesting flavor ideas. Much better than industrialized ice-cream, but still some room to develop.

Marzipan chocolate cake is too sweet. It also has zero pistachio taste but a strikingly fluorescent green colour (2/5). Hot chocolate is tasty (4.5/5). Prices are high but as expected in Switzerland 🇨🇭

I’m from the U.S. visiting my friend in Germany, and we were traveling in Switzerland. Yesterday was the last day of our 7-day trip, and we decided to spend it in Basel. Everywhere we went before had been warm and welcoming — except this place. My friend and I each had a toddler with us. We were just looking for a nice coffee shop before heading back to Germany. Since it’s not easy to find clean restrooms in Europe like it is in the States, we needed to find a café where the kids could use one. My friend quickly Googled nearby spots, and this one came up second on our list (the first was closed), so we stopped by. I ordered one coffee and one hot chocolate while waiting, and sat at one of the tables just to wait for my friend and her toddler, who were still using the restroom. We had lots of bags and things with us, as you can imagine when traveling with two small kids, and we also just did some shopping. Then the server came over and told me we weren’t allowed to sit if we ordered drinks “to go,” because the prices were different and the “chief” didn’t want takeout customers sitting at tables. So I had to gather my kid, all our things, my friend and her daughter’s things, and two drinks to move outside by myself. We honestly didn’t know that “to go” and “dine in” were treated so differently here. But seeing that we had two little kids and were just waiting for my friend to finish in the restroom, a little understanding and kindness would have gone a long way. Instead, we left feeling unwelcome and disappointed.

Recommended by chat gpt as part of a 2 hours stopover in Basel. The place is poorly arranged as tables are scattered around a centre island where people order as new guests arrive, very unwelcoming overall. Coffee is barely warm, pastry on picture was ok on top - the base is not really edible as it is so hard. CHF 12.30. Service personnel not very welcoming either. I wouldn’t t recommend the place.
E T — Google review
it was an amazing experience of flavors, great place the prices was according with the town ;) very expensive for the rest of the European people. We have just eat very well and feel treated with attention.
Fátima S — Google review
Really poor service on our visit. Seemed only one person could take payments and customers were standing waiting to pay. The waiting staff were mostly out the back in the kitchen We sat inside and sadly watched the customers waiting at the counter to order food and drinks and some potential walked out as there was no one serving. One chap was furious for waiting and then his bill was wrong. Their serving system is floored - we watched as orders were taken and then delivered by friendly staff however when customers want to leave and there is no one at the counter to pay or the ONE person who can take payments is busy you could see the frustration in customers. Train your staff to become more agile- multi skilled and efficient. Tables were not cleared quickly. Staff were somewhat arrogant and moving around the cafe was awkward I had to wait for a waitress to pass through a gap rather than her wait for me to pass. As the paying customer she wasn’t courteous- It was a shame The coffee was great as was the muesli but unfortunately we won’t visit again as the customer service was terrible.

Schoggi Weg and Schoggi Gipfeli 😍😍😍 Especially the Schoggi Weg - have had them for years and never grow tired of them - they are soft chocolaty and lovely with any hot drink - their sandwiches are good too. It is pricey but it doesn't exactly advertise itself as anything else - The baked goods definitely worth the money Also whiling at one do the tables on a summer's morning is always a treat :)

Gelateria di Berna, located in Bern and with a new outpost in Basel, was founded by three brothers inspired by their camping trips along the Italian coast. Their gelato is made using organic local ingredients and features unique flavors like ginger/fruit mixes. The gelateria has gained popularity for offering some of the best gelato in Switzerland. Visitors praise the wide assortment of traditional and creative flavors, as well as the fast and friendly service.
I went with my friend and there was already a few people waiting in line, the people where all talking about the different flavors they had and it made me curious about if some of the mixtures would taste good. However after trying I fell in love with the different types of Gelato!! It’s so good! Definitely recommend for everyone to try even the flavors you normally wouldn’t choose. 🥰♥️

A great little place for the best ice cream in the city. Great variety of flavours from ice cream to sorbets. Ideally located near the River. Plan ahead as the line could be stretching around the corner…but the wait is worth the effort!! Love it!
Mecene D — Google review
One of the best ice cream which I ever had. They have a lot of different ice creams (vegan, sorbet, normal) with some fancy taste. The local is very simple. You have 4 seat and the ice cream parlor, where you can buy your ice cream, and outside they have also chair. The place is little bit hidden, but next to the river, where a lot of people take a bath in the river, take a sun bath or after you go out of the river :). A cornet with 1 or 2 different ice cream cost only CHF 3.90. It is the best price which you get for an high quality ice cream in basel. I had chocolate sorbet with marzipan ice cream.
Zimmi Z — Google review
Delicious ice cream! For 5.50 CHF you can get 3 generous scoops. I specifically recommend the Mare de Borra flavor!
Jacquelyn S — Google review
A colleague recommended Gelateria di Berna, and it has quickly turned into our go-to spot for gelato in Basel. The range of flavours is great—plenty of variety without feeling overwhelming. You can sense the thought and quality behind each option. The gelato itself is beautifully fresh and creamy, with a consistency that’s smooth and rich without being overly sweet. It’s indulgent but balanced, which makes it easy to keep coming back. On our last visit, I had the hazelnut and vanilla—both were excellent. The hazelnut was nutty and aromatic, while the vanilla was classic and clean using real vanilla bean. At 4 CHF for two flavours, it’s reasonable for the quality.
Clarette C — Google review
Gelateria di Berna serves up wildly delicious gelato in a bevy of cool flavors. I went to their little pop-up cart at Liste and their storefront nearby, which is chic and very popular. When in Basel, it is a must. My favorite? The potent and piquant crème anglaise flavor.

Jakob's Basler Leckerly (Manufaktur & Laden) is a must-visit in Basel for those seeking unique and iconic treats. This historic cookie-making company, operating since 1753, offers the famous Basler Lackerli biscuits. These chewy, spicy biscuits are a beloved Swiss delicacy and can be found not only at the bakery but also in various shops throughout the city.
Visiting Jakob's Basler Leckerly was a delightful dive into Swiss baking tradition. The 60-minute tour offered a fascinating glimpse into the 270-year history of Basel's oldest biscuit manufactory, showcasing the evolution of the beloved Läckerli. I was a little disappointed that filming wasn't allowed during the tour but understandably so, it was overall still a fun experience! Tasting recipes from three different centuries was a treat, and the hands-on experience of packaging our own Läckerli added a personal touch :)
Yvette T — Google review
Basler Läckerli is a local speciality and is definitely something to accompany a visit to the city. Jakob's is particularly famous in the area and follows a recipe dating back to 1736! The shop is nextdoor to the bakery itself and has a great selection of treats and gifts for locals and tourists alike.
T F — Google review
Traditional leckerli, probably my favorite from Basel. I love the fantastic smell lingering around in the streets nearby on my way to work! And one can look into their bakery from the street, and see the work in progress! 😊
Andrea L — Google review
I really quite enjoyed the tour of the bakery, it was something different and unique to do in our time in Basel. However, and I almost hesitate to say this given I'll likely be banned from ever entering Switzerland again, I found the Leckerli rather disappointing and, dare I say it, a little over-hyped. They are nothing much to write about (even though I'm doing that now) and, for my liking, a little dry. I should know, I ate 14 of them during the tour then brought a bag to take home afterwards! The bag however was for my Mum so I can prove to her she still makes the best biscuits ever. Then again, the biscuits have been around more than 200 years than I have and will surely be here long after I'm gone, so what do I know really? I'd recommend a visit to the Bakery for the tour (especially as it's half price at time of writing with the Basel card) purely as it's something a little different, fun to do and the passion of the people working here clearly shines through. I just didn't get as enthusiastic about the biscuits as our host.

Many thanks to kind staff for their assistance. It was a great experience to listen inspirational story of the shop. You should taste them all for sure!

This is probably the best burger place in Basel. I've tried the classic, Argentino, and raclette smashburgers and all of them were amazing. The sauces are really good, the meat is cooked well, the fries are crispy, and the lunch deal price is great for what you get. Highly recommend!

Friendly staff - we had a megatron and they we’re running a limited edition called MacGyver, both were really really good. They were so good in fact that we ordered two more of the classic smash burgers before I forget we also had the sweet potato fries with truffle mayo. If you like to eat, come here for a burger.

Today we tested panda smash burger at Güterstrasse 130 in Basel! At first I was sceptical as there are already several Smash Burger concepts in Basel! But I was pleasantly surprised once again! It starts with the buns, which were sensationally fluffy and soft! Combination of meat, salad and sauce! Explodes my palate! I had the McDreamy! Price: 5/5 (very favourable compared to the competition) Friendliness: 5/5 Flavour: 5/5 Location: 5/5 I can't wait to visit you again!
W. ( — Google review
Nice new burger place with great atmosphere. It is more like a street food burger place as you don't have cutleries so it can be messy. The burger bun is quite different than in any usual burger place, but it is working. The fries is a mix of sweat and normal fries together with ketchup and mayo. It was quite delicious but they might should offer a not mix version as well. All together I paid 20 CHF for a burger with fries, which is not bad in Switzerland. I would love to see maybe more starter and desert options later. I hope the place will thrive and we have a great new option on the street.

Sam S — Google review
My second time here after returning in Basel, and just like the other time the ice cream is absolutely fantastic. The small gelateria/cafe is a great alternative for people wishing to try vegan ice-cream, and as an Italian I can tell you that the ice cream isn’t just vegan in preparation and ingredients, it tastes absolutely good. The shop, besides of course also doubling as mini-cafe, has generally an offer of 12 ice creams, 4 are monthly specials and 8 are so-called “always flavors”, which you can check on the website to see in advance what you’d like to order onsite. This time I took the strawberry matcha and vanilla raspberry flavors together, which was an interesting combination not just by themselves but also together, mixing a bit of the strong matcha flavors with the sweetness of the vanilla and raspberry. The place is very cozy and has a mixture of pastel and soothing colors both for the furniture and the art on the walls, very chill atmosphere to enjoy, especially on the weekend, and perfect for Summer. All the ingredients are organic and everything is handmade, for the prices and the quality overall the cost is more than understandable and fair. And of course staff is friendly, speaks English and accepts electronic cards in case you don’t have money available with you. Absolutely recommended visit for both vegan and non-vegan, you won’t be disappointed.

Customers appreciate the excellent service and welcoming atmosphere, often leaving with bags of Lindt goodies to take home.
We are very satisfied with the service! They welcomed us with a candy for our son. We didn't find what we were looking for, a small jar of liquid chocolate for the plane, but we did buy another gift for my husband's mother. There was an option to choose 100 grams of Lindt chocolates with many new and different flavors, we really liked them. Great store!

It is good👍 hope they have another flavor like coconut and pistachio 🤣

While walking around Basel, we came across this beautiful exclusive Lindt shop. We entered this place just to have a look. They had a lot of variety of chocolates. It was so tempting that it was impossible to leave the shop without buying anything. We specially liked home made dark milk chocolate after tasting it. Worth visiting…
Balkrishna S — Google review
The atmosphere was quite chaotic with many people and slightly stressed staff but the selection of chocolates available was incredible. Many interesting flavours which were all delicious. The price of the chocolate was fair.
Hannah H — Google review
The staff were so lovely! I don't speak very good German but it wasn't at all an issue. Some of the best ice cream ever. 🤎

Lindt shops in Europe have chocolate varieties that are not sold in the U.S. so I stock up!

A chocoholics paradise! What a wonderful and interactive tour. My favourite part of course was tasting all of the chocolates. Such good value for money this visit and has to buy a bag of goodies to take home to Australia 😍😍

Love it, l, chocolate all over the place, plus I got a free big chocolate bunny. In august I will visit again

(Translated by Google) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had the opportunity to try the ground beef and hot sauce takos at Oriental Snack in Huningue and I can honestly say that it is one of the best fast foods I have ever enjoyed! The combination of spicy minced meat and the perfect spiciness of the sauce creates a taste experience that is simply unforgettable. Every bite is an explosion of flavors that both stimulate the taste buds and provide a real "wow" moment. Another big advantage is that everything is Halal, which is an important consideration for many. It's reassuring to know that you can enjoy a delicious meal without compromising your ethical or religious beliefs. I can recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic oriental snacks in Huningue. Definitely a place I will visit again soon!

However, you will have to clear the door of people as a woman is too embarrassed to enter, it bothers the squatting, otherwise nothing to say, very good. Glacé Löööv is a wonderful place that rescues and processes local ingredients into delicious ice cream. One of their must-try flavors is the Ruebli Cheesecake, which is described as a cold dream melting gently in your mouth. The ingredients used are either rescued or locally produced. Visitors, both tourists and locals, highly recommend this spot for its amazing ice cream and super friendly staff. It's the perfect place to grab a delightful treat while exploring the city.

(Translated by Google) Juicy prices (4.50 for a very small scoop), taste ok, but there are better ice cream parlors in the city. Balls are not placed on the waffle sufficiently well, so they fall down quickly (especially with children). It doesn't have to be again... (Original) Saftige Preise (4.50.- für eine sehr kleine Kugel), geschmacklich ok, aber es gibt bessere Eisdielen in der Stadt. Hawkers Street Food Market Basel is a hidden gem tucked away underground, accessible through a subtle entrance in the Aeschenplatz area. Once you step inside, you'll be amazed by the spacious layout that caters to families with children. The market features an all-yellow room filled with large foam blocks for climbing and building, alongside a cozy jungle-themed reading nook adorned with bean bags.
A nice selection of food here and very friendly people! Unfortunately the ambience is a bit lacking, and during the summer it is a bit sad to eat downstairs in the basement without any natural light. Nonetheless I recommend going here for the taste and authenticity of the food!
