I also read a lot of polarizing reviews about Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country, but wanted to give this hotel a chance during a wine tasting weekend with my husband. We are so glad we stayed here. Service was really good and helpful despite being understaffed. The location is super convenient in terms of driving/parking and walking to nearby restaurants, bars, and even a couple of tasting rooms. We were upgraded to a bigger room that was the perfect size for us. Condition of the room and spacious bathroom were good and clean. There are a lot of families so noise can sometimes be an issue but just bring a white noise machine and you should be fine. Will definitely return to this hotel when we have another wine tasting trip!

Two lots looked like, rough estimate, they held 200 cars each. 5% to 10% of them probably EV's or plug-ins of some sort. This is The SF Bay crowd, right? Two, and only 2 EV slow chargers available with the same two Teslas in them the entire two days of my stay! The front office stance on this? First come first served. Not our problem. 4. But the BIGGEST ISSUE FOR ME, I managed to leave 2 shirts in the closet. I'm more than willing to pay to have them shipped back. After 5 calls, I left two clear messages for lost and found, two times the front dest never answered the phone, and once they transferred me back to lost and found mid-sentence before I could tell them that lost and found never answers! It is now 2 weeks later, and absolutely zero response from them in any fashion. Do yourself a favor. For $300-$500 per night (PLUS parking!) you can surely find a better managed and better run alternative in the area.

It is right across from a park, a parking lot, and the train depot so there is noise. We didn't have restful sleep Friday or Saturday with all that going on, but you can close the windows and that helps. The bed is a cloud- lots of pillows and fluffy soft blankets! I'd stay here again just noting the things that weren't clear when I was reading previous reviews. Old hotels like this deserve our support and to be preserved. From musty smell when you enter the room to dirty carpet and outdated and rusting fixtures. The leaking sink and standing water in the tub, and the shower head/fixtures straight out of 1980's put the stay at far below sup-par. For the price we paid, it's not just a mediocre stay, it's so disappointing it would be a crime to pay or stay again. The AC was also very old (analog dial) and very loud, could barely sleep with it on all the time, it just never shut off. The lady at the front desk wasn't helpful when we reported these issues and just said she'll relay this to the manager. Of course we never heard back.

I tried to leave this review there, but couldn't find the right button. I've been to the "Sandman pool" nearly every week for the past 3 months starting in mid-May. There were weeks when the pool could have been cleaner, but this last time we went, there was a lot of algae or whatever the stuff is that grows on the side and needs to be brushed and cleaned off. I had never seen it that bad. We haven't had jets in the hot tub for weeks. We were told that if the jets are allowed to run the motor would burn out. Back in May they put out nice thick large pool towels. Now the towels are small and thin. The pool furniture used to be nice and now a lot of the chairs are literally coming apart, with bolts falling out. I think there are only 5 umbrellas left and most of them are also broken, but we can still make them work well enough for shade. The small plastic tables around the pool are rarely if ever cleaned. We've learned to bring our own bleach wipes.

Valet parking was available for $21, lower in my experience than most hotels charge. The hotel is functional and clean, and staff were always friendly and helpful. LOCATION Downtown Santa Rosa - It was close to the night life, with a little life of their own in the lobby. There was music playing upon arrival and a few patrons happily drinking wine and conversating. They do NOT have their own parking lot, rather shared with the rest of the downtown area. There were 4 EV charging stations in the front and while we were able to find parking both registering and again after dinner and going to Graton Casino for an after party, they do not have a dedicated parking lot for their guests. Next day (Saturday), they had a Farmers Market getting set up across the street. Vendors double parked in the parking area that made it a little rough to get out of the parking lot. SERVICE Gentleman that checked us in was pleasant and check us in quickly. Gentleman that checked us out was pleasant as well. I'm wondering if they were both cold as they both had hoodies on, but nevertheless very nice. ROOM We had a room on the second floor with a view of the side of a brick wall. We didn't mind as we stayed only one night and didn't mind at all that there wasn't a view. Heater worked excellent. They also had terry robes and slippers (yes we used them) available to use. Multiple charging outlets and linens were nice. Pillows were soft in my opinion but hey can't please us all.

This place has a fantastic Miami Vice vibe that makes it really unique and fun. It's totally family-friendly and the staff is incredibly personable and helpful. We enjoyed all the amenities - the heated pool, hot tub, spa, and gym were all top-notch. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and drinks came out super fast! The multiple fire pit areas created a great ambiance for evening hangouts and good conversations with friends. Be aware, they do have music events, so it's not a quiet resort, but that added to the overall fun for us. It's also reasonably priced, and there are great wineries and restaurants nearby. The front desk, restaurant and pool service is very friendly. We arrived on a Saturday and it was very crowded and the pool side wasn’t very well taken care of but after mentioning this to the front desk Loretta, was very accommodating and offered to wave the resort fees. The sport facility and spa is very nice and clean as well. Rooms are spacious, updated and clean. Overall we had a very nice stay at the resort and can recommend it to others. For it being a Hilton, it has all the standardized amenities figured out (digital check in, allowing you to select your own room). Property is a cool mid century design with both exterior and interior room access, allowing for either quick exit to parking or a covered journey to the main lobby etc. Hot tub is on the small side, but it worked and was clean. Pool is massive and was great. Room was clean, comfortable and the decor/design was great. Only consideration would be to make the bathroom feel a bit “warmer” and provide more than a bar of soap. The complimentary health club is top tier with free classes and free pickleball. I took a Yoga class with Ruth and two Spin classes. Breakfast was more than enough to get the day started. Spinster granola was delicious! Room was spacious. Bathroom was well-designed. Water from shower did not splash everywhere. The controls were placed on the “correct side” aka the opposite end of the shower head. Toiletries were a good quality. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner did not leave you with that icky feeling. I try to ask their billing policy of when I would be getting charged and was told the paper I signed and the money I paid would be for my 5 day stay. Imagine my shock and surprise when 3 days later I’m charged an additional $500. When once again trying to gain clarity now the manager remembers they have a discount for medical rates but can only do a couple days. Why when expressing concern over funds and payment and you knew why I was here and had the authority to do something was that not brought up? Why was I charged twice and the rates go up because of your full booking when I already reserved the rooms and paid? Corporate could not answer my questions, the manager and front desk did not answer my questions. My interactions with employees at this hotel have been a mixed bag (mostly good), but it is a nice experience when I stay here. There is variations in noise level because of the street but it's not bad. For me, the only real downside to staying here is their guest policy, which is very strict and comes with an expensive fee if violated. It'd be nice if there was at least leeway for brief and reasonable guest visits. When the woman checking me in asked how many people were staying in the room, I answered, and a man came in from the other room to inform her that I had someone in the car and insinuated I was lying (at least they pay attention to security cameras, I guess).
