The center of the wide street is left open, possibly reserved for buses, though we never saw any. Also the stores along the street are often chains like H&M & Target and not the mix of interesting smaller local shops you'll find on Boulder's Pearl Street or Linden St. in Ft. Collins. Still worth checking out after visiting the Capitol or the great History & Art Museums on the other side of the park as there seems to be some decent dining options, including outdoor dining, but it could be so much more.

The turf is lush and green. As all Denver parks it is well kept. There are plenty of mature trees with full foliage. It offers two softball parks and a dirt track for bicyclists. I was very impressed with the bicycle track. Beyond that it brings the community together plenty of open space as well as a child's playground. There is some type of pavilion here which I've never experienced. It's a relatively large park and I do believe they have a snowboard run during the winter months. Not just after it snows but, to the best of my knowledge, they actually produce their own snow to keep everybody moving down Ruby Hill. The other great thing about this spot are the views. I have watched fireworks from the top of the hill, over the Eastern part of the city. There is much open space at the park. I often see people with there dog taking a stroll. Lease is required. Ruby Hill definitely has a lot to offer. It's a beautiful park with a lot of space and plenty of views. Always family friendly. This is definitely a staple of the community. So much "natural" play. They have two cement slides. They can send you flying but it's super fun. All the rocks are great for climbing. They also have a dinosaur buried there! The log obstacles are really cool to climb on and move around. In the summer the splash pad is going to be an amazing thing. There are not slides or playgrounds for small children. If you take the bike path there you will have a detour as the bike path it under construction. Also the street next to this park is called Jason Street and it looks well not the best place. There is about 5 campers parked next to the park and they look rugged. There is a good amount of trash around them. I believe one has been in a fire. Just be careful and safe if you are going here and plan ahead.
