Very large and a lot of animals! This is actually the first zoo I've visited that had Hyenas, so that thoroughly pleased me! They had this awesome Lorikeet section where it is possible to feed them and they can fly on you but you cannot touch them, which I understand. The Primates area was pretty cool got to see Gorillas up close, some orangutans, I'm not too sure about the Mandrill section but they seemed sad, plus there was a sign saying they've been expressing strange behaviors. OOHHH and they had an area with an Eye eye that was neat. The zoo is actually so large, it was difficult to navigate around even with a map, but not a negative. They just closed a bit early for my liking. They closed at 4 and we were only about... 75% through the park? Also a bit of construction going on. I am a big supporter of pedestrianized streets and place making but this feels like it has failed to live up to it's potential. The center of the wide street is left open, possibly reserved for buses, though we never saw any. While some very nice and cute seating and other features have been created on the sidewalks the failure to utilize the majority of the street leaves it feeling a bit barren. Also the stores along the street are often chains like H&M & Target and not the mix of interesting smaller local shops you'll find on Boulder's Pearl Street or Linden St. in Ft. Collins. Still worth checking out after visiting the Capitol or the great History & Art Museums on the other side of the park as there seems to be some decent dining options, including outdoor dining, but it could be so much more.

But anyways I think its a decent park, NOT the best but its something and it has cool views seeing the mountains and the skyline of Denver. Btw, If you wanna save money just get a season pass for like $69 bucks or something around there and you get free parking and bring 2 people in with you for free too, and you can go trough out the year as many times as you want like even fright fest (haunted houses not included) which was probably one of the worse haunted house I have every been trough. You have to pay like around $200 for 3 people just to wait in line for an hour while the wanna be gangster teenagers are cutting you. I went with 2 friends and once we finally got inside it was horrible. Just tarp walls and pool noodles, cheap stuff like that. I run a home haunt at my house and the people who I was with said they would rather go to my home haunted house and wait a couple of minutes for free btw instead of eliches haunted house. While we were halfway trough something happened and the emergency alarm went off so we all had to exit and had to wait another 15 minutes just to finish the haunted house, but we had to wait in the "VIP" line which took about 10 minutes of us waiting. The fright fest was cool with the actors and props out but I do NOT recommend the "haunted houses" Anyways its an okay park........ Id give it a 3.5 star or a 4 for just the only big amusement park till slat lake city.

Earlier this month my family and I booked an intermediate rafting trip on Clear Creek, in Idaho Springs. We travelled 14 hours on. June 9th to experience Class IV rapids. Upon arriving the age limit for the trip was increased to age 16 from 14 for the day and they wouldn't let my 15 and half year old son participate. Even though he was the tallest and most athletic in the group Which was unfortunate. That being said the front desk personnel was great and apologetic. They offered up a beginner course with a minimum age of 9 for our troubles. Knowing that it was a beginner trip with Class 1 & 2 rapids which is not what we travelled 14 hours for, we were hesitant to agree. They assured us that we would enjoy the trip and since we were already there, we agreed to go ahead and participate in the beginner trip as long as we would receive a full refund for our troubles. It was understood at the time that this was agreeable. Had we lived local we would have just rescheduled, but we were only in town for 2 days. A few days later I recieved a refund for $40 instead of the full $443.00. after reaching out multiple times via email, I did make contact with the Director of Operations at the Idaho Springs location, he denied stating that he approved the refund. Which is very disappointing and frustrating. As for the actual trip: The beginner trip was very much a float trip, and not a rafting trip. It had some great scenery and a great guide, but there was really no need for paddles as the difficulty level was very low. The trip also only lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. Probably a good trip for first-timers that don't want to get wet, but not what we travelled 14 hours for or paid over $400 for. When speaking to the director after the fact, I was not happy that I did not receive the expected refund and felt like it was a bait and switch tactic. In hindsight I should have just canceled and asked for a full refund and drove 100 miles south to the Royal gorge for a class 4 half day trip. But instead I decided that it would be silly to pass up a free rafting trip, even if it was at the beginning level. Unfortunately the trip was not free and I was still charged over $400. The value of The beginner's trip is probably equal to half of that, and had they refunded me half the amount I would have still been satisfied, but the director of operations I believe his name was John stated that there was something nothing he could do outside of discounting my next trip. I'm 14 hours away, there likely won't be in next trip, and if there is it'll likely be on a different River with a different outfitter. They really dropped the ball on this one. We went today and were incredibly disappointed. First of all, the park cleanliness was not great. The water was pretty dang cold. Lockers are small and expensive, everything is expensive. None of the refill station would let us fill water, they wanted us to pay for new waterbottles everytime. The whole park is pretty confusing unless you are a frequent attendee. No refunds, no convenience, no customer service, crap gift shop, expensive crappy food, no consistency between staff, website is misleading and terrible, no accountability. This place needs to be reported to the better business beuro for stealing from their customers. WATERWORLD, DO BETTER! Between the many negative Facebook reviews and the few on Google, your reputation is going down the toilet along with your park. Secondly, don't ask anyone for directions or help or where to purchase an item or check something. Its an inconvenience to them, they avoid looking at you, and just point in a direction saying over to the right or over that way. Wait in a line to go wait in a line. Also, you'll have to reserve cabanas/bungalow months in advance if you want one but from the comments i read its not worth it. Customer service is wretched. The park is massive and very few connecting paths, it's like walking through a maze. The wave pool last only a few minutes. The lazy river is super super short. You have to rent tube for the lazy river but can't use them ANYWHERE else and If you carry your tube for too long staff will stop you to reprimand you for carrying your tube around the park because apparently thats only allowed when they say it's ok to carry a massive 2 person tube up 5 flights of metal stairs. $25 for one towel at the gift shop. The changing rooms are saunas, they are very warm and it's hard to put a bathing suit on while you're sweating to death in a matter of 1 minute. The curtains for the changing stalls were ghetto and didnt cover the opening well. The locker set up is weird and kind of a pain. There were a lot of older people that couldn't understand how to reserve or use a locker and staff doesnt help with anything so they couldn't ask them. Nobody tells you any of these things. The staff seems to be incredibly unhappy with their job or there just rude as he'll. We planned this on our vacation with soooo much excitement. It was the worst experience we've had on any trip or theme/water park. Supposedly one of the best water parks in the nation, this is false. Im so so so sad by this experience. TOTAL AND UTTER WAIST OF TIME AND MONEY. Maybe Elitch Gardens is the better choice. If we come back that's were we will try next. The best part of the Waterpark was seeing a cute squirrel.

I went with my daughter and Mom and we walked around the 40 acre farm which is very accurately historically based. The inside of the museum was very interesting with an art exhibit, a special exhibit which currently focused on Kate Farretti and the Littleton history area which included a kids zone. The Kate Farretti exhibit depicted the life of a famous hat maker originally from Italy, she settled in Denver with her husband and made hats for Denver's elite including Molly Brown. Kate was also mother to the first triplets to be born in Denver. You can spend a couple hours here and make a day of it. I loved the living history farm portion which included 1860's and 1890's farms and contained 5 historical buildings as well as outhouses and a root cellar. It is an acutal working farm with 1800lb cows, turkeys, chickens, sheep, donkeys and a blacksmith! The gardens throughout were beautiful, we got to pick some pumpkins and see what would have been grown in this historical time period. Both livestock and gardens were accurately portrayed for the time period. You can only bring water in so don't try to do a picnic onsite. You are able to bring strollers and wagons and I would recommend doing so, there is a lot of land to be covered which requires a lot of walking.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, thinking it might be a typical museum experience, but it far exceeded our expectations. The dinosaur exhibit was a major highlight! It was interactive and really brought the world of dinosaurs to life for my boys. They were so engaged and excited to learn. We also enjoyed the other exhibits, especially the exhibit on the waterway, which explained the Colorado water distribution system . The interactive portion where they could pretend to control the water was a big hit with them. The 1860s farm exhibit was another favorite. It’s an actual working farm that replicates life in the 1860s, and we were able to walk through the buildings where people were working and performing everyday tasks. My boys had so many great questions and really enjoyed interacting with the staff. We thought we would be there for just a quick visit, but ended up staying for 2 1/2 hours. I feel like they we're trying to keep it family-friendly, but they went way too far; it completely ruined the atmosphere. God forbid the mood be a little spooky at a Halloween event. Some of the art was genuinely creepy, but behind it they were playing LITERAL CHRISTMAS MUSIC, I could here the jingle bells and everything. And it wasn't just me, I heard other people put off by it too! To be fair, there was one really short graveyard section that had a little spooky theremin song playing which perfectly captured the Halloween vibe, but that just makes the rest of the place look worse. Why didn't they just do that everywhere else? It's not like it all needed to be actually creepy, it just should have been related to Halloween in some shape or form. There's tons of happy family-friendly Halloween songs out there. I can't stress enough how laughably bad the music was, I was legit offended. I wish I could give it a more positive review but the music nearly ruined it, it would have been better if there was no music at all. I'm only writing this review because I genuinely want to know who thought this was a good decision and for them to answer for their crimes. Thank you

Right off Hampden and easy access with plenty of parking, it started off on the right foot. There is a nice visitor center(with helpful and friendly volunteers), training buildings, admin building, restrooms, a yurt and nice demonstration garden. We hit the PCC welcome trail just north of the buildings. As there are guided tours, the trails are big enough to allow passage of motor vehicles. Almost immediately we began seeing Pronghorn. I think we ended up seeing around 25 of them. We were hoping to see more forbs and bluestone, but it was mainly short grasses. And, unfortunately, along the Soddie Trail, a lot bull and Canadian Thistle. Trails: Seem to be well developed. We took the PCC Welcome Trail, Toll Gate Fork Trail, Soddie Trail and then part of the North Soddie Loop for a total of 2.6 miles. Maps show these trail locations and distances well. There was a thunderstorm moving into the area so we had to cut our exploration short. However, besides the Pronghorn, there were two adult Bald Eagles nesting (about where Riparian Trail and Toll Gate Fork Trail meet) and a juvenile sitting in the trees. Only downside I have is the fact there is parents who bring infants and kids who are loud and disrespectful, it doesn't make the environment enjoyable. I got a Lemon Acai Bowl, and a BLT Sandwich which were both really nice and the acai bowl was super refreshing as the day was getting hotter and hotter. The street that’s next to the street which the market is on is a tad bit sketchy as I had to walk through for about 30 minutes, so if you can, I’d recommend taking public transportation or a car to the market. Jason was great and so was the tour. We were fortunate and got to see 4 long horn rams grazing as we went into the Garden of the Gods park. Jason stopped at all the right places for pictures and provided info in a fun amd entertaining manner. Cograil ride was great. So was time in Manitou. The only complaint is the reservations didnt tell us where to meet at Union Station, thankfully nice lady inside told us by the flagpole or provide any insight into parking and we ended up paying $60 to park .... didn't know it'd be that much... rest was great.

It was early October so the fall foliage was phenomenal to see. Our guide MC was amazing. He explained Denver's history so well he made us want to move there. It’s got a good vibe and even better funnel cakes! They have a great variety of food/snacks too, and everything is priced way below a typical movie theater. Oh, and one ticket gets you TWO movies!! The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars, is because the screen is incredibly dim. Like, to the point where you really have to use your imagination to follow the plot of the movie. If they’d upgrade their projector (ideally to a bright laser kind!), then I’d definitely give it 5 stars for sure. But even with the dim screen that it currently has, I still plan on going back soon.
